Check in was quick but they gave us ni information like you would usually get at a hotel. The bed was comfortable except the blanket didn't really keep the cold out and we ended up having to use multiple cover blankets that we found in a drawer in our room. The room was VERY dirty. The floor was weirdly wet and sticky, the walls were dirty, the shower had soap scum, dirt build up, and hair still on the drain cover, and the sink had build up on the faucet knobs and it smelled like rust when you turned the water on. The worst part of it was the rooms don't have their own individual microwaves but instead the motel has one communal microwave on the first floor for everybody in the motel to use. It was disgusting, like it hadn't been cleaned since they put it there. It was coated in ick on the inside and smelled like fish and old food, but we didn't really have a choice but to use it. Luckily we didn't get sick. There's definitely some questionable activities going on in and around the motel (prostitution, drug dealing,etc) One room even had an LED open sign in the windows and I saw a drug deal taking place in a room on the other side of the building. That being said, the guests staying at the motel that we had the chance to have a conversation with we're very nice people. There are some longer term residents there that are just down on their luck and they are very nice people. Punta Gorda is a lovely place with lovely people and our week long stay here was made enjoyable by the delightful atmosphere of the town itself and it's people. But I would not reccomend this motel at all the way that it is right now. At the very least they should put individual microwaves in each of the rooms and not a communal one covered in bacteria 🤮
