You’re just minutes away from the Mountains & surrounded by great restaurants, a few of which are right in the Hotel (their eggs Benny are AMAZING). Dogs are welcome just about everywhere & the Hotel Rates are extremely reasonable. Very clean, very comfortable & wonderful service! I’ve yet to be let down by this beautiful Hotel & location. The reason I booked the room I did, was mainly for the view and the size of the room, which I was not disappointed with. However, I feel the price for the king suite in the Champlain house which I booked because of the view, was overpriced based on the following factors. Firstly, the sink and shower drains began to back up after about a minute of use. The shower because it gets backed up, floods onto the floor due to the design of the shower. The bathroom door doesn’t latch fully, so it pops open after it’s closed. The floors, walls, and other areas of the room could use a deeper cleaning. There wasn’t a way to deadbolt the main door to the room. There’s what looks like a small lock, but it didn’t turn to allow me to lock it. The big window on the side has sheer curtains, but not blackout that will provide full privacy if the lights are on in your room at night. The only garbage can in the room is the small one in the bathroom. A TV would be nice for background noise to fall asleep to, but I understand not having one for the location the hotel is in. Based off the photos and price I did not expect to too much from this hotel/lodge. But all I have to say wow! We booked the main house. Very nice rooms, nice bathrooms, nice dining and living room. Kitchen was also large and nice. I have 0 complaints here and would book again. The location is also amazing, literally a 5 minute walk to the center of Lake Placid/Mirror Lake with great food and bars all around. I wish the parking lot was a bit bigger but other than that 10/10 highly recommend people staying here!

It was easy to check in and out but didn't see any staff on site. The room was overall in good condition. The mini fridge and Keurig were nice amenities. The room smelled strongly of cleaning chemicals but we aired the room out and it was tolerable. The window AC unit took several hours to cool the bedroom down to 70. Wish they had the pool open but for the price we paid we can't complain. One of the beds we found several hairs on the sheets so not confident the sheets had been changed. The far side of the parking lot has a huge rut if you pull in near the dumpster so be careful! There was plenty of parking available. Overall a decent, affordable motel to stay in with a good location. I would probably give it 4.5 stars if I could but being generous I'm giving it 5.
