Shatila is full of life. The moment you walk in, you feel like you’re somewhere special. It’s busy, loud, and packed with people trying to get their hands on some sweets. There’s a ticket machine to take a number, but no one really waits for their number to be called. Everyone just kind of crowds the counter and hopes to get noticed. It feels a little chaotic, but somehow the staff keeps everything moving and you get helped pretty quickly.
I picked up a half-pound mixed box to take back to Dallas. they did pack the box very well when I told them that I will be taking it home. Some of the desserts come with syrup... I wish they had packets instead of containers that would be easier to take on the plane. Shatila wasn’t cheap, but the quality is honestly incredible. Every piece feels fresh, rich, and made with care. You can tell they don’t cut corners with ingredients.
While I was there, I saw a lot of people ordering this pistachio sweet cream dessery, so I grabbed one to try. It was excellent. Light and creamy with that perfect pistachio flavor. Definitely something I’d get again.
The whole place has this energetic but welcoming vibe. It might feel a little overwhelming at first with how busy it gets, but once you taste the sweets, it all makes sense. Shatila really lives up to its reputation.

Been to Shatila Bakery four times now they have a good variety of Arabic/ middle eastern sweets, ice cream and some hot breakfast items too. We came early this time about 7-7:30am best time no crowd! and the best part no parking lot shenanigans either!
I had their kunafa it was okay kinda luck warm it's supposed to be hot...even the pastries were kinda stale the only thing that was done right was the zaatar pie that was good. There bathrooms are super disgusting!! so weird doesn't make sense because the restaurant is spotless. This place is really bad, most of the workers are so rude. They lie about everything! They put grounded pumpkin seeds in the sweet acting like it’s pistachio!!! I literally found full seeds on top of my dessert! I have allergies they should be glad I didn’t sue them! Another thing happened is I asked for kunafa the brown one not the orange added color “I’m Middle Eastern so I know the difference“ they didn’t have the one I wanted so they were trying to lie and say the orange one doesn’t have food colouring and they were swearing about it!

This is a pretty huge bakery with tons of sweets and other food items. prices are really cheap. They have differnt kinds of breads , pastries , cakes , middle eastern desserts like kinnafa , baklava etc,.
Their Falafels are huge which makes you want to buy them.They have one of the best falafel sandwiches in the area. I would say much closer to the authentic ones.
Chicken shwarma sandwich is just alright . Again same issue where there is lot of meat but less sauce leading to a dry sandwich.

I went to Hamido Restaurant on Friday for lunch and ordered their Family Platter for Two — and wow, it was easily one of the best Mediterranean meals I’ve had in a long time! Parking in the front can be a little squirrelly due to parking next to curb on Outer Drive. There may be parking in the back, but I can not say for sure. In the front, when you try to park, be patient. They try to get their customers in and out so it isn't too hard to find parking but some days it is full and some days it is empty.

She helped create our perfect wedding cake that was absolutely delicious, our wedding was over a month ago and we are still getting compliments about the cake. Not too sweet or rich, everyone commented on how good the cake was. Finally had an opportunity to try out the Turkish village !! I have heard about this place a lot than was eagerly waiting to find out the reason behind the popularity.
Restaurant is huge, well decorated and located in heart of Dearborn.
Planing for the restaurant was so poor that I had to walk 4 min in the cold to pick up my carry out !!
No onsite parking with or without pay. You have to cross the street to find a parking spot. There is a parking structure other side of the road which was extremely inconvenient for their customer.
Food was great, to be honest I found the high quality ingredients and top notch kebab like Turkish restaurant in Europe.
Service was terrible, as other recent reviews described, extremely horrible service experience.
For us Garlic sauce is a MUST, when picking up the carry out trays, I reconfirmed if the garlic sauce is there, if not I was willing to pay for two. The girl served me, said it is in the bag. Due to formality I didn’t open the combo bags and after driving it back home which was 35 min drive, we didn’t find any Garlic Sauce !!
It was super disappointing as I also gave her tip on top of expensive platters !!
