This was the 5th venue we'd toured since getting engaged. We liked the location and the beautiful big oak tree on the river. As time went on, we scheduled the tasting with the caterer (which you can only use Anthony's Catering for this venue) and set up out menu. This went smoothly and I did go back and forth on what I wanted to add and take off, but they were flexible and seemed pretty kind about the changes. As far as decor was concerned, I ended up having 3 separate meetings and discussing the same thing, which was a little disappointing since I was roughly 2-4 months out from the wedding at that point. Communication dwindled leading up to the week of the wedding, where I then became inundated with questions and tasks. In the beginning, we were under the impression that certain things were included, but we found out later that they were not. There was a windstorm the day of my wedding, which no one can really plan for and we had to move the wedding indoors. The venue was extremely flexible in getting this done. They did add a few things for us that they knew we wanted, but we decided to take off due to the catering bill being so high. They insured me that there was nothing to stress about and things would be okay, but I didn't feel that due to the lack of communication I had and the delay in getting back with me. We had an entrance song and a first dance, but our coordinator didn't communicate with our DJ and the entrance song played too long. We didn't have much time for activities as out guests wanted a ton of pictures and I maybe danced for a total of 30 minutes even though it was discussed to keep people away as I ate and wanted to dance. All in all, I don't know that I can full heartedly recommend the venue because my disappointment was with the communication. It was great up until about 4 months out and that stressed me. That's a huge thing for me. Otherwise decor was beautiful and we love Anthony's Catering, so we're glad they use them exclusively.
