I so rarely give 5 stars for anywhere but given that I am struggling to think of areas of improvement, I have no choice but to provide Google’s highest rating. Thank you for a wonderful evening. What an absolute treat this place is. Caerphilly's best kept secret! This is the second time I've been here and am absolutely blown away by the whole experience. The staff immediately greeted you and made you feel so welcome. We were shown to our table immediately and our drink order was taken, while we looked at the menu. Whilst deciding our food, out of the many options on the set lunch menu, we were given complimentary appetizers, olives and bread and olive oil/balsamic vinegar. For the main, I ordered the chicken breast in a mushroom and tarragon sauce (pollo alla linda) but opted for the chips. They were a great choice and were clearly homemade, something you don't see all to often these days. The chicken was incredibly tender and the sauce was next level! For dessert, I decided on an Irish Coffee which hit the spot. When waiting for the bill to arrive, we were given Limoncellos, a nice touch. We were served by both the owners, Ernesto and Fortunato and the service, along with the atmosphere and food was second to none. The order was nearly an hour late and was missing a chutney tray and poppadoms. The 2 onion bajhee starters were freezing as was the cold mains. I phoned to complain and was told to expect cold food as it was cold outside! I was offered 2 options, 1) new starters and my chutney tray to be brought to me but was told this would be an hour, or 2) next time I made an order my 2 starters would be replaced and I would receive my chutney tray and poppadoms that were missing first time. She was extremely rude and sarcastic over the phone even though I tried to be polite and explain I understood if they were busy on that particular day. Then spoke to the manager who wasn't any help either and was told I should expect my food to be early, on time or late depending on how busy they are! ( yes but not nearly an hour). I then explained I would now be posting this review and would not be placing any further orders and the reply was " do not blackmail us" and then they hung up. We were a family of 10 who had booked for Christmas day to be told on arrival that our table wasn't ready. Then told we can't keep places we have to take whoever comes in although we had paid a £120 deposit.The way I was spoken to was shocking and my children were discussed. The lady/person running the place had no manners and appeared drunk serving us.the premises were filthy dirty floors were slippery and the toilets were flooded. I wish I had an opportunity to thank the chef though as if the place had any proper management the food would be lovely. We will never step foot inside the place again
