Saturday night dinner without a booking worked out well. Front room of the place was full, so we accepted a table out the back. This was perfectly fine because the staff set up the outdoor heating and took very good care of us. The ambience in the garden marquee was gentle and quiet, and more than warm enough. Food and drink were delicious, though food a little slow coming…they were busy…so we weren’t overly concerned, just sat back enjoying our wine and cocktails, which did come out quite promptly. We had the steak, the lamb shank and the prawns, as well as molten lave cake for dessert. Steak and lamb shank were prepared beautifully, prawns were tasty but could have done with a touch of extra seasoning. Molten lava cake was molten! Overall, a lovely experience, special shout-out to Jack for his service. Definitely recommend trying this place out.

My husband, two children and I went here for lunch. I was grateful for a vegan option. The chickpea coconut curry came with a chopped tomato, red onion and cucumber ‘ fresh’ salsa although they had used a mix that must have been in the fridge for a good few days. The tomato was soft and the cucumber was on the way out and had mould forming on it. The waiter took it back to the kitchen apologising then came back with a new dish and then proceeded to tell me that the previous dish with the cucumber only had sauce on it and that it wasn’t mouldy! Um no it was mouldy and the salsa was old and should never had been plated up to serve. I have been cooking daily for the last 25 years so I feel somewhat qualified to make an assessment on fresh. Between the quality, service and price…($35 for the curry) we won’t be going back! Very disappointing as the venue was lovely.

We had Father’s Day lunch here on Sunday and although busy, the service was top notch and very friendly and helpful. The three course roast special was excellent value. The chicken curry was very nice although the spice level was far from a Vindaloo, it still had plenty of flavour. The courtyard is actually a huge undercover space with amazing outdoor flame heaters which kept us toasty and we were entirely protected from the elements. They allow dogs in this space too which is a definite bonus, even providing water bowls. The courtyard is a gorgeous space with lovely lighting and well suited for a special event. Only downside was some more toilets would be great. Overall, an excellent venue and really lovely hardworking staff. We would definitely come back again and bring the dog next time.

We came for lunch on a Sunday and were pleasantly surprised to see the refurbishment and new play area for kids. 3/4 of the outdoor beer garden was reserved so I highly recommend making a booking in advance! Our food came out within 10 minutes of ordering. The calamari was divine, and the fried chicken burger was also phenomenal. My parents had the seniors schnitzel and it was a really thick and juicy piece of chicken. We loved everything. Lots of staff so service was prompt and friendly enough. A great spot for food or drinks before/after a visit to the steam trains!

My family had dinner here tonight and we ordered gnocchi, lamb pita, calamari, schnitzel w gravy and 2x HALLOUMI. The food was delicious, everything came out in a timely way so we weren’t waiting long at all. Food was great quality and good sized servings, my wife chose the chicken korma curry, I had the Flathead tails with chips ( declined salad, it’s not for me). The chicken was perfectly cooked with great flavours. The flathead tails were plentiful and fresh with a crispy light batter, cooked to perfection. Can’t recommend too highly and will consider visiting when next in Queenscliff. Great location and easy parking. Well done to all of the floor staff and those in the kitchen.

This was a last-minute Saturday night dinner decision, and it turned out to be a good one for a balmy evening.
The restaurant is fresh and modern, and we scored a table near the balcony doors, which were open. That gave us the benefit of air-con and a feeling of being outdoors on the deck.
The menu is a two-courses / three-courses style (with drinks extra), but they were happy to mix it up, so we didn't all need to order the same number of courses. I added dessert and even shared it with my partner, and the waitress was happy to provide an extra fork.

The service was exceptional and all dietary requirements were catered for without any fuss. When it came to pay the bill once again the team handled payments brilliantly. Had an absolutely amazing pie from Rolling Pin Pies and Cakes in Queenscliff.. the Chunky steak pie has a delicious gravy and chunks of meat.. I was very impressed with the pastry which was absolutely delicious.. the service was also excellent.. But turned out I had an amazing lunch with my little family, first good thing bout scully is they had so much space in the restaurant so we can bring baby pram insidr which is the bonus. We stumbled across Nivana today while looking for a last-minute lunch spot with our three kids — and what a find! This little Asian restaurant completely blew us away. We ordered the crispy pork belly, chicken skewers, butter chicken, laksa, and roti, and every single dish was full of flavour and cooked to perfection. What a great find this was yesterday when my friend and I were looking for somewhere to have lunch. We were greeted very warmly the moment we walked in. Started off with a late afternoon tea and it was so good we followed up with dinner. The owners, Sally and Chris are the loveliest people and our waitress Anastasia was equally lovely. Afternoon tea comprised a house made walnut heart for me and a strawberry custard heart for my friend. House made by the amazing chef Mat. These were a cross between a biscuit add a cake and were sublime!! The textures, flavours and presentation were just amazing. Dinner comprised a wonderful pork belly and beef dendeng served with mixed green vegetables and jasmine rice. All in all it was magnificent. Chef Mat is so talented and Gingerbaby rates right up there with the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. I loved it so much I’ve cancelled the restaurant booking I’ve made for my birthday and booked at Gingerbaby. This is going to be a favourite!!

We had such high hopes coming here for dinner, and although the service is great, the food was a real disappointment. We love Asian fusion, but this food was just awful. We had a fantastic stay at Circa 1902! It was such a lovely touch to be greeted by Sally on our first visit, making us feel right at home. The accommodation was an absolute bargain, especially considering it was a long weekend.
The restaurant was excellent, offering delicious food and a great atmosphere. We were aware that the bathrooms were shared, but it didn’t bother us at all—everything was spotless. The rooms were on the smaller side, which is to be expected in a beautiful heritage building, but they were cozy and well-maintained.
The only thing we forgot was to ask for a fan, as it was quite a warm weekend. However, with the window open, it was comfortable enough to sleep. The bed was soft and beautiful, making for a restful night.

Adversied as a guest house to what looks like a beautiful establishment we were horrified at the state and conditions of the place. We stayed here with our two kids ,the room was disgusting,smelt really bad and not properly cleaned with what looks like red wine spilt all over the wall against the bed ,the beds were very uncomfortable,the mattress was clearly very old and you could feel every spring against your body, our family woke with bed bug bites . The shared bathroom was gross food ,hair and ants all over the floor , and if you wanted to have a shower forget it there is no water pressure but a trickle of water . Other guest were playing very loud music until 3am drinking and smoking in a non smoking hostel ,the fire exit was apparently also structurally unsafe so not sure how this even complies. Would not recommend anyone to stay here unless you want a disease.

I used to go this cafe years ago when we lived in Pt Lonsdale and remember the enchanting garden setting. We dropped in for afternoon tea two times on our recent visit to the area, and as very fussy dark roast coffee drinkers, were very pleased to find that this was the best coffee we've had in the area over the last few days. The big breakfast was a sizable portion but it felt it needed some sort of sauce to tie the whole dish together. The biggest downside was the price. $8 for 2 scones, cream and jam felt rather steep. I really enjoyed this venue. I ordered the burger with the works to eat in but when it arrived I decided that I just could not get my mouth around it and it was very tall. I took it back to the counter and asked if they would wrap it in paper as they normally would do for a take away burger. This made the burger much much easier to eat without much of the contents escaping. I really enjoyed this burger and managed to not spill any of the components. The result was an excellent burger which I enjoyed immensely.

From the moment we walked in we were greeted warmly and welcomed to our table. The ambiance was lovely, and the speech from the young host to start the evening was a gorgeous touch.
We dined during the ‘earth to table’ dinner series, and each month the venue has a rotating theme. The snacks course of the four course experience were actually the stand outs. We went to TARRA in Queenscliff for a belated Mother’s Day celebration as part of the Sail to Lunch experience from Sorrento, and it was absolutely fantastic. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The staff were so lovely and made the whole experience really special - and we even got to see dolphins out the window! Have been to Tarra several times but this is the first time with new chef, very disappointed I had the pasta with what said was a bisque sauce and prawns $36 would have expected fresh prawns and a tasty sauce for that price. Prawns were frozen no flavour at all, bisque sauce was appalling, had no flavour whatsoever, tasted like it was from a bottle not homemade. I think it tasted something like tomato sauce rather than bisque. On a long weekend in Queenscliff, some friends and I were trying to find a spot for dinner. But we were turned away by every pub/restaurant for not having enough space to accommodate a group of seven without a booking.

Last August we stayed over night around point Lonsdale and used this wonderful restaurant takeaway. The food was so lovely, we were actually surprised that we get this quality in that area and we knew we’d come back to them. This time we stayed wallington B&B having such a rude host and unhappy. I was sceptical with the combination of Indian & Vietnamese but pleasantly surprised with our meal. We ordered tandoori chicken which was cooked in a tandoor oven on charcoal. Very delicious.
The service was really good, friendly staff. The mum is lovely and chatty. The place was recommended by a local. It was the Easter long weekend and the place was empty which did not make sense to me. But when you sit inside, you can see why.

Ok I admit it, the pics aren’t great but either was the food. Came down for Breakfast a few weeks back with my partner who is currently navigating his way through Invisalign after a horrible bike accident and we were very disappointed and for a grown man wearing Invisalign, that’s no mean feat. No ice cream and just a sprinkle of frozen blueberries to top off this abomination. The wait times were very long for an almost empty cafe.
Our meals were given out in an odd order, half of us were done, a few were still waiting. All the lovely reviews made us travel the bus stops right upto the end of the line, and boy, were we not sorry at all.
The first thing was the warm friendly staff who really are interested in your comfort and well being. We walked in on this cold rainy day and there was no delay in seating us, while adhering to all the precautions for Covid19 social distancing.
The staff was friendly with lots of suggestions about the menu and the specials. We ordered the Seafood Chowder and the Captain's Breakfast (yep, we were hungry). The food was delivered in very little wait time, despite the reduced crowds.
The Captain's breakfast was scrumptious, crispy bacon, amazing greens and oh Lord, those whole button mushrooms left me wanting more. I asked for my eggs poached and the eggs were well done, the proper immersion way, not the cling wrap shortcut that most brunch places do (hardcore brunch lovers will get this).
Now the Seafood Chowder was another thing altogether. Rich creamy flavourful broth with a generous mix of fish, clams, prawns and scallops. And the portion size was BIG. We could not finish it, even though you just could not stop eating. On a cold rainy day, that was the kind of meal that fills you up and warms your heart at the same time.
The place is perfect if you're waiting for the ferry, or if you just want to enjoy good food with a great view of the sea. I'd definitely go back again and again.

Very disappointing breakfast. 3 orders for the hash brown Benedict and firstly there were no more hash browns.......then 20 minutes later no ham???? Right. After previously having enjoyed this experience and bringing back 4 close friends who were all affected by the disappointment I was embarrassed that I had put them through such a difficult breakfast. There was no sympathy for what had happened, no 5 star service which is disappointing. Bacon arrived about 10 minutes after starting the other meal. Safe to say we won’t be returning.

The food was terrible. I had the Fish and Chips, which came with salad. I must say, the fish was very nice. Hot with a crispy batter. But that's where it ends. The chips were thin and COLD. The waiters are friendly but hopeless.
Today my wife and I ordered an entree and muscles as a main- the muscles arrived about 4 minutes after the entree had been served - the waiter was surprised we didn’t want them then notwithstanding we were clearly eating a course!
The muscles were put back “ under the heat” and we waited about 45-50 minutes before asking where were the muscles “ oh they didn’t look too good under the lights so we are re cooking them???”
