The staff are super nice, the food was a good portion and tasty. The view is amazing.

A lovely little café situated around a ten minute walk from Butlins where we were staying for the week. We fancied eating outside the holiday park for a change and ended up here for breakfast. Food was fantastic. It was a sunny day so sat outside and stared at the sea, perfect! Difficult to rate the service as you queue up to make your food order but it came promptly. Only improvement I would make it to make the system for seating and ordering a but clearer. I’m pretty sure The Lobster Pot could single-handedly ruin my diet — and I’m okay with that. The seafood box was so good it made me question my life choices up until this meal. We shared one (generously, I might add) and got extra fries because self-control is overrated.

The food was great and there was a wide selection available. We had to book a table in advance for the evening meal which starts at 5pm. The restaurant/ cafe closes at 7pm and I can understand that as due to the place being quite open, it must get very cold the later it gets. We went at 5pm and it was very quiet. Had seen plenty of good reviews of the cafe in the park - decided it was our lunch venue with the family on a reasonably nice day. Inside was packed but thankfully got a space outside. Again, queue was pretty long, but actually got served fairly quickly, and food turned up not too long after that. Everyone liked the food they had - and it was far better than I probably would have expected. The only downside to our visit, and this is no fault of the cafe, was the people who seemed to be unable to control their dogs when not on a lead - at one point we had a small dog under our table, which initiated a bit of a shriek from our daughter (always fearful since a dog stole her sausage roll a couple if years back!)

Although, very overpriced on many menu items. Diet Coke at 4.25 for a 440ml, and was possibly the worst tasting I’ve came across if I’m honest.
Eggs on toast cost the same as a full breakfast but less than a sandwich.

Visited because I read that they have a Sunday carvery and was not disappointed. Choice of Beef, Lamb, Turkey, Ham, Pork, or a Mediterranean tart, plus a variety of 7 different vegetables and giant Yorkshire puds. A very relaxing stress free experience in a good old country pub. A great stay with wonderful staff! So warm and courteous. Our room was very cosy and I love this ‘vintage’ style. They serve a classic English breakfast and we also had a reservation for dinner. I highly recommend the pizzas, as well as checking out the dessert menu! There is also free parking behind the hotel. In the evening a very busy restaurant which adds atmosphere. The beach is 3 minutes away by car.

Stayed for 2 nights as we were travelling down to Goodwood circuit, had been advised that there was a 50th birthday event on, so there could be the chance of music till around midnight but we had been checked into a room at the front of the hotel to remedy this. Room was lovely and quaint, shower worked lovely, slight drip from the toilet that could be heard when going to sleep but this wasn't an issue. Hotel managed to get 7 of us in for dinner when we arrived without booking without issue due to the party which was amazing. Food was amazing, nothing bad can be said for the food and the service staff.
Breakfast both days were amazing.
The only downside was the fire alarm had been set off by the DJ's smoke alarm at the party, which was slightly annoying after a long drive but it was turned off quickly and I went to sleep.
9/10 I would definitely stay again.

Usually love spoons, but this place was chaos
Over an hour waiting from ordering food on the app and 30 mins for a drink at 11am on a Saturday (the app claimed slightly less) when it was nowhere close to being full is crazy. The poor single staff member was rushed off their feet visably exhausted and stressed trying to serve every table food and drinks alone- clearly the place is having staffing issues but if unable to find the staff to run your premise at a fairly empty time then should temporarily close until you can or at least restrict parts of the menu. What's the point in a spoons that can't serve a drink in under 30 mins and takes over an hour for any food?

Came from the U.S. to visit relatives and they booked my niece and I into the twin double room (recently remodeled) and it was so warm & cozy. I had the pleasure of staying for the weekend at the Navigator in a double en-suite room overlooking the sea front and only a short walk from the town centre and attractions. Just had a lovely lunch at the Navigator. I had roast lamb shank, which unfortunately was overcooked. I did mention it and she apologised and said she would tell chef. My husband had the roast turkey which he said was lovely. Vegetables were good and well cooked and the gravy boats were lovely. Been here a few times now for breakfast - and, particularly considering the price, the food is outstanding. Frankly at any price it's good - and if you like a fry up or eggs benedict you'd only get the same at a good hotel for at least twice the price.
Everything is freshly cooked - and cooked well - not just thrown in a microwave or kept under the heat for hours as you might expect at under a tenner for a proper Full English these days. The fry up is a hungry belly's delight and the Eggs Benedict/Royale are poached just right and the Royale I had a few months ago came with a couple of good chunky bits of salmon too. I'd be happy with either dish, anywhere.
That said, in truth it is a bit no nonsense - yes, there's table service for the food (after ordering at the counter); but remember to pick up your cutlery, napkins, salt, pepper, condiments etc from the counter when you order because all that's being brought to you is the plate and there is nothing set out on the tables. And the interior is what it is - a little dated, a little worn. Some patches of duck tape holding the seats together.
But, these are ultimately tiny niggles that, if anything, only add to the appeal for me - it makes it feel that bit more... homely. Which before your morning coffee is definitely a bonus. Also, if you're serving me this quality food at this price... I would happily sit on the floor and eat it with my hands so...
I am yet to try the lunch menu, so I'm extrapolating for this review, but I reckon I'd sum it up as this: You'd never take a date, but you'd absolutely go every day before work for breakfast - and could actually afford to; yet you'd still recommend it to your true foodie friends if they were visiting town. AND you'd quite happily take the family there any time.

First visit to Syrup Cafe on the last morning of my mini break, and wow! Talk about saving the best for last! I had Breakfast No. 3 with a proper cuppa tea, and it was absolutely spot on. Everything cooked perfectly, piping hot, and you can even swap items around, which is rare these days and an absolute win for fussy eaters.
The place is spotless (you could eat your toast off the floor, though I wouldn’t recommend it), and most of the staff were lovely, friendly, quick, and clearly know their way around a frying pan.

We spent over £40 on four breakfasts and drinks, and it was a complete disappointment. The food was poor quality—overpriced and poorly cooked. The baked beans were dried out, the sausages had gristle, and everything tasted like it had been overbaked.
The decor hasn’t seen an update since the 1980s: dirty, ripped front awnings, stained yellow ceilings, and an overall feeling of neglect. The whole place is in desperate need of a deep clean and renovation.
To top it off, the staff were extremely rude. As we were leaving, with drinks from our own bags in hand, a waitress snapped at us about bringing in outside drinks—despite the fact we were literally walking out the door.

This was a delightful find! Just off the main shopping street, this charming cafe was a welcome retreat.
The staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home. I ordered their signature latte, which was perfectly balanced with a lovely creamy texture.
My mushrooms on granary toast were delicious - the mushrooms were sautéed with garlic and herbs, and the bread was thick-cut and toasted just right.

Was looking for a local greasy spoon style place to eat and came across Aldwick, was not disappointed. Ordered two all day breakfasts from a wide range of options on menu, one veggie and one meat breakfast. Both were enjoyed and served without too long a wait and freshly prepared. Today we visited a café in Bognor Regis called "Ricks Café", run by Rick and Colleen who have been at this location in the Queensway for the last 5 years. Some of you may already know Rick and Colleen as they used to run a Cafe of the same name adjacent to the Bognor Cinema for an amazing 15 years! They moved to their new location in the Queensway in 2009 and have continued their successful business.
Today it was the breakfast that we were here to try. The business is legendary in the building game as a great place to get a lovely breakfast at a fantastic price, and you know how we both love a good breakfast lol.
So my breakfast contained a sausage, two bits of bacon, a fried egg cooked perfectly as I like it, baked beans and 'Slabs' which I found out were chunky chips as you can see in the picture. I've never been a fan of black pudding and bubble and squeak but the other half ‘B’ is, and finally toast and bread which is certainly enough for me! There are further options to add more but I was all good.
The food was really good quality and cooked very well indeed, all that food and a cuppa for £7 you can't really go wrong lol. The other half said that the bubble and squeak was amazing and maybe even the best she's tried! As she is a big black pudding fan, having two black pudding portions was also a winner for her, not me though yuk!
The Staff were helpful and friendly, the service was quick, and the food was lovely and hot. The furnishing were basic but comfortable and nice looking, and the café was Christmas decorated and very cheery.
The Cafe has an amazing hand painting on the entire wall of a scene of Bognor seafront back in the 19th century and some lovely old pictures of Bognor Regis. Being born and bred in Bognor I always love coming back and seeing old pictures of how it used to look, secretly I'm a bit of a history geek!
In summary a great place for a great breakfast at a great price too! Well worth a try for sure

Out for some lunch in Bognor and we decided to have a lunch / dinner meal here. We wasn't sure about taking the kids in at first, but spotted some kids menus when we got inside. There is seating upstairs, downstairs and outside - it was lovely weather so no chance of a table outside on our visit, so we settled with going upstairs so we was out of the way... just in case kids decided to mess around or anything.
You can order from a QR code or visit the bar, I needed to ask about swapping some bits in the kids meals so ended up going to bar. Ordered food and drinks, although a couple of drinks they couldn't do due to shortage of the relevant ingredients.
Kids had usual type of kids meals, fish fingers and chips / chicken strips and chips. Adults went for a rice dish and some tapas plates. It was all nice food, although if your kids like chips prepare for the little scoop of chips in a cup! I thought the adults meals were fairly reasonable price wise (no more than perhaps I would pay in a pub etc.) But there was no offers or anything on the kids meals and they were about £6 or £7 each.... I got the wife a cocktail and that shot the price up a little as well! (Cocktail was very nice, I was 'allowed' a small sip!)
I would certainly come here again. If coming again, it would be great to see a larger tapas menu - that way I would have convinced wife and kids to all get a plate as well. Also it would be good to see the kids meals a tad cheaper... with all that said, still one of the nicer places in area that we have been.

For many years I'd always seen this cafe on my way to Fontwell races but I'd never popped in ...until now, wish I'd gone in way before. Ordered the large breakfast & a tea from the very pleasant lady at the counter.

Called in today for a cappuccino, lemon tart, flat white and a blueberry muffin. 3 young staff working behind the counter. The girl on drinks was completely flat out never stopped making drinks, she looked exhausted, the other girl was taking orders, very difficult to hear each other as the covid screen is up ( rightly so) but the whooshing of the coffee machine made hearing a nightmare. Anyway....the third girl did come out into the shop to collect cups etc, but we never saw anyone wiping tables down between customer use..
This was an a very busy time as I said but surely the tables and hygiene needed doing. I saw on the door that they were advertising for new staff, help is definitely needed here.,Drinks and food were good, highly priced as always, but let down by not following the cleaning rules.
Might give this place a miss next time.
