It is true you are rushed and it seems like they don’t want to be there or they don’t want you there. Also, as the time went on there was actually no need to rush us like that when we hadn’t even have a chance to sit down and take off our bags etc, if the kitchen was closing in twenty minutes that is plenty of time to allow two people to at least have a look properly at the specials board, drinks menu etc for a few minutes before asking them if they’re ready or if they want anything to drink (bare in mind I had just sat down my bag was still on me and opened up the first page of the food menu🤣) The lady we ordered with was lovely, and the man that looked after our table from then on was great! My mother had the bolognaise she pretty much left the whole meal, it was swimming in pasta water and the meat was very sparse. We each had a dessert which we were hoping would save the experience but in all honesty it just added to it. The banana split was old, and the tiramisu had no coffee flavour, nor did the ice cream. Such a shame, £80 just went down the drain. I will not be returning and I do not recommend this establishment. I understand people may think there is “always one” but trust me, book somewhere else. This was for a starter and mains up to a certain value. This review is based on if we were to have paid full price, though. The service was efficient but not overly welcoming with a lack of smiles. We liked the interior which was spacious and light. We had the mussels for starters, which were tasty, though there were two closed unedibles in one dish and three in the other. We were given free complimentary bread to go with them, though didn't particularly enjoy it. For mains we had the chicken dishes. We enjoyed them but felt they were somewhat overpriced at around £17/18. With a needed side, it would have brought the mains total to around £23 which feels excessive. We had the sautéed potato's which were good and there was plenty to share. We also had the garlic butter spinach, which whilst good we were unable to finish due to the heaviness combined with the mains choices - perhaps our fault. I'm not sure if by design, but the chicken dish with the mozzarella had a large pool of oil around the edge of the meat, which didn't do wonders for the presentation. The quality of food, service and restaurant itself were all wonderful. We started with an antipasto platter that had lots of fresh meats, veg and cheese and it was presented beautifully.
