The setting is warm & welcoming, with a real charm to it. We were looked after by Richard Hughes, the owner, along with some new staff. The staff were friendly & attentive and the food was definitely the star of the show. The grilled aroma and atmosphere instantly caught our attention, and each dish was full of flavour. Every plate felt balancing bold spices & textures in a way that really brought the ingredients to life. That said, we did find the portion sizes, especially for the mains, a bit on the smaller side. They were tasty, but not quite as filling as we’d hoped. We ended up ordering extra sides & tapas just to feel satisfied. A few additional touches to the mains could easily make the experience feel more complete. Overall though, the atmosphere, service, & quality of food made it a really enjoyable visit. It’s a brilliant spot to unwind after a day out, especially if you’re coming from Fountains Abbey or exploring the Ripon area. Would happily return to try more from the menu!

The level of detail throughout the whole place is 10/10 the grounds are stunning and lovely to have a walk around before drinks, or between courses.
