Yulong River is a picturesque destination located just north of Yangshuo in Shibanqiao village. This area offers a non-touristy experience, with the opportunity to explore the scenic village and visit the Tai Chi & Kung Fu School of Master Fu. To reach Shibanqiao village, visitors can cycle along the Li River from Yangshuo center.
Yulong River – A Dreamlike Escape Yulong River is truly like a scene from a movie. The breathtaking landscape, with its towering karst mountains, lush greenery, and peaceful villages, feels almost unreal. The water is a stunning shade of blue, reflecting the sky and surrounding nature like a perfect painting. No matter where you stand, every angle offers a picture-perfect view. Whether you’re cruising on a bamboo raft or simply walking along the riverbanks, the scenery is mesmerizing. The atmosphere is calm and serene, making it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. If you’re visiting Yangshuo, Yulong River is an absolute must-see. It’s not just a place to explore—it’s an experience you’ll never forget.

Great place and infrastructure. Very easy to go around and has walking and bicycle paths. Not very wild as it seems and feels a bit touristic at times so if you prefer something wilder not the ideal place for you.
Raphael M — Google review
Great experience here to stroll around the river and enjoy the limestone rocks view. Unfortunately the raft we were on was made from plastic instead of bamboo.
KF Y — Google review
Another highlight for us of our tour of Guilin is the Yulong river cruise. We were provided rafts instead of boats. The rafts were modified so that we could sit comfortably. The raftsman steered the raft expertly. The scenery was so beautiful and serene. The ever present karst hills were prominent wherever we looked.
Andrew Y — Google review
Beautiful and mystic is the word! Day time its full of tourist rafts that carry two persons a time down the river. Night time the whole scenery turns mystic. Beauty of the majestic hills adds extra to the whole scene.
Mas H — Google review
One of the more beautiful and well known places in Guilin. You can get a classic scenic look of the Guilin mountains and waters. Many will recommend getting a raft and a motor cycle to see the scenery which you can do but is not necessary. Some of the best views can be seen on the bridges.
Allen L — Google review
The path along the Yulong River is one of the nicest stretches of scenic beauty there is.

West Street, also known as Yangshuo's Foreigner Street, is a bustling and vibrant pedestrian street in the heart of Yangshuo. Lined with shops, restaurants, and bars, it offers a lively atmosphere day and night. The street is famous for its unique blend of Eastern and Western cultures, making it a popular destination for both locals and tourists.
Warm environment in cool winter, beautiful experience tho super busy throughout the day. We were there in late March, 2025. The temperature was 6°C, with subtle drizzles throughout the day.
Wasif R — Google review
A short street in Yangshou with a variety of shops and market stalls selling all sorts, be sure to haggle with the vendors if you decide to buy anything and be mindful of the turtle on a lead outside of the ornament store. Lots of hustle and bustle going on but no need to spend any prolonged time here. Be careful of the pet turtle outside one of the shops.
Jamie H — Google review
Well the location on this Google map is not entirely correct. The street is nice for me, it is beautiful, quite clean and a lot of things are available from food, drinks, souvenirs, clothes and so on. The view here is very nice with the mountain's background. The vibes just feel different. Plus the town is not that big like this is the centre and everything is just walking distance from here from hotels, pier and river it's all within reach. The price is okay, there is a limited amount of halal food here, a lot of bars. I do enjoy it. I really like the place.
Hafizun M — Google review
A tourist(trap) pedestrian street with alot of stores and activity during the day and night. But be aware: it's not here but on the east side of Yangshuo (search for xijie pedestrian street)
Koen G — Google review
Overpriced bars and restaurants, annoying groups trying to interview you in English, and a particularly nasty person selling snacks with signs declaring "NO JAPANESE." Yangshuo isn't really a great food destination, just find some noodles near wherever you're staying.
Kenny L — Google review
Tourist attractions and will be crowded at night. Lots of food stall and restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops, traditional clothing and foto studios as you are local people.
Ong S — Google review
A walking street where you can try 😋 their famous dish called "啤酒魚". Most of the restaurants have this dish. There are souvenir shops for candies、cakes and biscuits etc. Usually visitors will buy the ginger and osmanthus candy.
Nancy H — Google review
Very crowded, full of souvenir shops. Couldn't find one reasonably priced souvenir though. Ex: chinese tea cup was $10. In a non-tourist area was 1.20 for nicer. The difference adds up quick. Nice to walk around early during the day tho if weather is good. We got out in half hour.

Caverns & Caves
Reed Flute Cave, located about 5 kilometers from Guilin's center in Guangxi Province, China, is a vast cavern known for its stunning underground karst formations. The cave stretches beneath the southern shoulder of Guangming Hill and has been a popular tourist destination since the Tang Dynasty. Visitors can explore the 240-meter deep, 500-meter long cave on guided tours to admire diverse stalagmites, stalactites, stone pillars, curtains and more.
One of the Top limestone caves. The entrance is 90 RMB. The tour takes between 75-120 Minutes. Some Stalactites are more than 30m high. It is a great experience
Andreas W — Google review
One of the amazing things you can see in Guilin. It is astonishing to see how nature forms these interesting stalactites and stalagmites. A few of them resemble animals, people, fruits, vegetables and landscapes. The way they are lit also makes it even prettier. I would not recommend this for people with mobility problems because it involves quite a bit of walking up and down stairs. The men's toilet was also special. The urinals are enclosed in glass and you can have a nice view while peeing 😁 Make sure you visit this place if you are in Guilin. Not to be missed.
Joseph T — Google review
I’ve always loved admiring natural scenery, and this time I had the chance to visit Reed Flute Cave. It’s a well-known karst cave relatively close to the city center and has even hosted several national leaders. Inside, you’ll find an incredible variety of stalactites, stalagmites, stone pillars, curtains, and flowers—each with unique shapes and truly spectacular. Thankfully, it wasn’t too crowded on the day I visited, and since the cave is quite spacious, I could take my time to enjoy the sights and snap photos. Just a heads-up: you need to purchase a ticket to enter. A must-visit for nature lovers!
Perri — Google review
We made the right decision to take the tram up to the entrance to the cave even though this is a separate cost apart from the entrance ticket. There are 2 prices to the entrance ticket. The more expensive one basically includes an entrance fee to a specific section in the reed cave itself. Can do without, I find nothing spectacular in there, it's just some manmade photo spots with some artificial lightings. The cave was wet and could be slippery so wear suitable shoes with good friction. Interesting guided tour (included in entrance ticket) in Mandarin. I think it's worth a visit if you're in Guilin for a couple of days.
Viva V — Google review
Nice cave walk exploration here to spend 1hr in it. Recommended. But beware that the floor can be wet. The cable car ride is just not worth it. Better walk up and down on your own.
KF Y — Google review
Pretty cool spot! The place was easy to navigate and the cave was cool but I feel there's a lot of these worldwide and this doesn't really stand out from the others. Definitely worth checking out though.
Lang N — Google review
Nice place, but totally skippable. The colored lights make it a bit trashy, and there is no highlight really worth the visit unless you are in love with caves.
Jacopo N — Google review
A great place to visit to see these wonderful caves. The scenery outside is equally stunning and offers a great vista.

Yangshuo Tianlai Butterfly Spring is a must-visit destination in Yangshuo, offering a serene and natural experience. While some may argue that the attractions in Yangshuo are limited, this butterfly spring stands out as a place of genuine beauty. Visitors can immerse themselves in nature by rafting down the river or climbing Xianggong Mountain for breathtaking views of the Li River and mountains. Exploring the rural scenery is best done by cycling through the area.
Lots to do here from glass bridge, slide, cultural performance and luminous stones
Patience S — Google review
More multicolor lit up caves, meh. The performance was so-so. The outdoor grounds and view of the mountains, as well as the draw bridge, made up for the otherwise underwhelming experience.
Tony G — Google review
No butterflies, small and almost fake cave. To cross the bridge you have to pay extra and then there are about ten shops you have to pass through but nothing else. Not recommended to visit, especially if you can't speak Chinese.

Yangshuo West Street Scenic Spot is a lively and vibrant area with plenty of shops to explore and unique ethnic minority costumes to admire. It's a popular destination, offering rich nightlife and convenient access to various attractions. Nearby accommodations provide a range of experiences, from peaceful rural scenery near Yulong River to the bustling environment near Zhengyang Pedestrian Street.
West Street is the place to hang out in the evening if you are staying at Yangshuo. It is very lively as Chinese and some foreign tourists gather here to walk around, shop, eat, and drink. The atmosphere is great, and you can spend many hours here. You cannot miss West Street!

A really cool set of pedestrian streets. But just a bit too many karaoke bars and clothing rental stores. A must-see if you're in Yangshuo. Be sure to pick up some authentic snacks once you're here. Is a bit more interesting in the evening.

A good food option in Yangshuo. The West Street is a touristic entertainment street with restaurants, bars, etc. However, do not pick Yangshuo for this tourist attraction... there are way more interesting sights all over China.

Nestled in the heart of Yangshuo, Yangshuo Park is a vibrant oasis that beckons both locals and travelers alike. With its winding jogging trails, inviting playgrounds, and serene gathering spaces, this park is perfect for those seeking a blend of relaxation and activity. Early mornings are particularly enchanting here; as the sun rises over majestic mountain peaks, you can witness local residents practicing tai chi amidst the tranquil atmosphere.
Yangshuo is a fantastic destination that offers incredible value for travelers, especially by American standards. You can find a wide range of comfortable hotels starting around $20 per night. The area is packed with exciting activities for all kinds of travelers. Adventure seekers can enjoy paragliding, hot air ballooning, rock climbing, and scenic hikes. Those interested in history will appreciate the chance to explore ancient towns and ruins scattered throughout the region. Renting a moped is also a popular and fun way to take in the stunning mountain landscapes at your own pace. West Street is a major hotspot, especially in the evenings—it really comes alive with all the street vendors and crowds of tourists. It's a great place to soak in the local vibe, shop, and simply walk around. However, it's important to stay alert for scams. Some vendors may quote one price and then try to charge more at the last minute, using all sorts of clever tricks. Be polite but firm, and always double- or triple-check prices before making a purchase. I’d recommend staying between 1.5 to 3 days, depending on how much you want to explore. Overall, Yangshuo offers a unique blend of natural beauty, adventure, and cultural charm—definitely worth a visit.
M H — Google review
Well known for its c karst mountains, the moon moutain, the coin cave ,Li river and many other Beautiful places. We have tasted delicious halal and non halal foods as well.
Tongkhay Y — Google review
Nice tranquil park very close to West Street. I stayed in Yangshuo for 10 days and was able to continue my calisthenics practice here throughout the stay thanks to the pull up bars, monkey bars, parallel bar, and numerous other bars in the park. During the morning it's such a good vibes with cool air and lots of shushu and aiyi (uncles and aunties) doing exercises, taichi, qi gong, group dancing, fan dancing and other forms of exercise. The elder community in China is very fit compared to other countries thanks to parks and communities like this. You'll definitely be more motivated and influenced by the local community here to stay fit and get moving. There is also a walking path around for walker and joggers. There are lots of trees so even during the peak sun times in summer you can spend the day under the trees to avoid the hest and get some good nature vibes. There is also a small rock you can climb up to see the view of Yangshuo from a height, it's a very easy climb with steps, takes less than 10 minutes to get to the top and good for all sizes and ages of people. The view is also quite satisfactory. Also there is a small lake/pond, which is beautiful.
Chathuranga K — Google review
The park itself offers the locals a great meeting place to engage in many social activities - playing games, exercising and testing their musical and dancing prowess, amongst other things. If you also want to learn about some local Chinese heroes, especially in the military and the communist party, you will see pictures of people who have passed away and their heroic feats memorialised around the park. There wa nothing much else to do within but just outside the park are many eateries with delicious Chinese cuisines that one can relax in .

Xingping Ancient Town is a must-visit destination in Yangshuo, easily accessible by through buses from Guilin. Once there, you can explore the area using mini-buses, motor tricycles, or bicycles. Xianggong Mountain offers breathtaking views of the Li River and surrounding peaks, making it a popular spot for photographers hoping to capture the sunrise. Meanwhile, Xingping Ancient Town itself boasts serene waters and stunning natural features like Mural Hill and Lotus Crag.
It's a small town with a lot of tourists. The town is very nice and beautiful. Looks classic and classy. There are many things available you can buy here from food, souvenirs, service and so on. The price is reasonable and some places you can negotiate. There is also a pier for those who want to cross the river. Here is the place where you can see the picture from 20 Yuan clearly. Like the environment here. The public transport is also easily available.
Hafizun M — Google review
If you are staying at Yangshuo, you have the option to take a day trip to Xingping which is just a bus trip away. For a day trip I would not really recommend it unless you go for hiking but is perhaps better to do it you stay in this neighborhood. The ancient town itself is smaller than I thought and very similar to Yangshuo. Still great to see though.

Julian W — Google review
Nice little ancient town not as busy as yangshuo. There is a nice little hill called lao zhai shan just on the south side of the town where you can get sunset views. The 20yuan view is an easy walk to the north and the 9 horse mountain about an hour walk to the north
Wayne F — Google review
This old ancient town is relaxed, calm and hospitable. I had a leisurely walk in those few streets multiple times throughout the day and every time something new caught my attention. The boat ride on lijiang was alright, I thought it was worth it just to see the mountains that are featured on the rmb 20 dollar note. Food choices are plenty and there are restaurants / bars / coffee shops selling both traditional Chinese dishes and western dishes, including a pizza specialist. In terms of heritage, the old theatre is certainly very photogenic with a hip coffee shop next door.
Helen J — Google review
It's not a very large ancient town, so there aren't many crowds. Inside, there are many shops selling clothes, souvenirs, and similar items, but the merchandise is mostly similar. It takes about half an hour to walk through. It's a great place for taking photos, and there's a photo studio where you can rent clothes for photoshoots.Free entrance

We visited this place many years ago. The scenery is awesome. I love the sight of the karst mountains in the distance. We were taken on a boat ride along the river. The tourist guide explained certain features of the model village as we moved along. They retained the old houses for show. When back on land, we were allowed to roam around to look into the houses to see the insides as well as to watch ladies wearing traditional aboriginal costumes weaving using the traditional loom, for the benefit of the tourists, no doubt.

I recently had the incredible opportunity to attend a 2-week Tai Chi and Qigong training at the Yangzhou Tai Chi School and I cannot express enough how positively transformative the experience was for me. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality by the staff and instructors. The serene and picturesque surroundings of the school provided the perfect backdrop for immersing myself in the practice of Tai Chi and Qigong. The peaceful atmosphere truly allowed me to disconnect from the outside world and focus solely on my personal growth and well-being. The training itself was exceptional, Master Kim, owner and head instructor was not only highly skilled and knowledgeable, but also possessed a deep passion for sharing his expertise with us. His patience and dedication to each student's progress was evident in every session. The daily schedule of 2 two hour sessions were well-structured, allowing for a balanced mix of physical training, meditation, and theory. Beyond the training itself, the school provided a supportive and inclusive community. I had the pleasure of meeting fellow students from all walks of life, each with their own unique journey and reasons for being there. The camaraderie and shared experiences created a sense of unity and encouragement that further enhanced the overall experience. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and air conditioned for comfort and our meals were of the highest quality prepared from fresh market produce daily. Overall, my two weeks at the Yangzhou Tai Chi School were nothing short of life-changing. I left with a renewed sense of balance, inner peace, and a deeper understanding of the profound benefits of Tai Chi and Qigong. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to have trained at such a reputable and authentic school. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking to embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery and holistic well-being. Health and harmony Leanne Stanton

It's a nice stone bridge on the Yulong, similar to the Yulong bridge, on which thousands of Chinese tourists gather to shoot pictures in traditional garments - as many other scenic places around the region. If you come here in high seadon, the crowd won't let you appreciate the spot, so if you are in the area maybe it is worth a quick visit, otherwise don't make any travel to come here because you will be disappointed.

The sun sets over the mountaintops in Xingping Town, Yangshuo, Guilin, Guangxi, China in the accompanying photo below. Guilin and the Li River are famous for their beautiful landscapes. Visiting this area had long been on my to-do list. Before the trip, I selected a couple of locations at which to photograph sunrise and sunset, and Laozhai Mountain was one of them. On a clear afternoon, I hiked to the peak an hour before sunset on a trail built and maintained by a Japanese gentleman (all photographers visiting the area owe this man a significant debt of gratitude in the energy his meticulously maintained trail up the mountain saves them in expended energy). The view was overwhelming, with the Li River making an 180-degree turn right under my feet. I spent most of my time focusing on a wide-angle photo view until I realized that leaving the river out of the photo and simply zooming in on the peaks and setting sun made for a much better composition.

Yangshuo High-Speed Rail Station is a modern and beautiful transportation hub located in Xingping, not Yangshuo. It offers clean and spacious facilities with fast security checks. While there are only a few restaurants inside the station, it's convenient to plan your food ahead of time. The station is easily accessible from Xingping Old City, about 10-15 minutes by bus or car, and around 30-40 minutes from Yangshuo.
Clean, spacious, modern. About ten to fifteen minutes of bus ride from Xingping Old City to here, the bus fare was only 5 RMB. Many regional train routes pass through this station. There are just a few restaurants here, and I don’t know if they are indeed open, therefore maybe it is a good idea to grab a bite in Xingping before getting to the station. Yangshuo is a scenic mountain town in southeast China famous for its water caves, hiking, and hot springs. The town is accessible by bus or train from Guangzhou.
The Moon Hill is a interesting mountain formation in the Yangshou area. The Moon Hill can be visited by walking 1.5km up a step set of stairs. The walk is pretty rough, but you dont need to be skilled. At the top theres a platform where you can se the whole mountain. The entrance fee is 11¥ pr person.
Simon G — Google review
The moon hill is one of its kind with a moon like hole in the middle, it looks interesting. You can walk up the hill, on the way there is a temple as well which is worth visiting. We went up on a hot and humid day but still going up the steps was not much effort. Worth visiting if you are in this area.
Vijay J — Google review
Went for the photo op. The town you start at is pretty blah but the photo that takes you a few minutes might be worth it.
Lang N — Google review
I really wanted to like this place. The photos that others posted made it look like a can't miss visit. Moon hill is a popular place. When we arrived we were approached by some ladies trying to sell us tickets and water. If that happens to you, you don't have to buy from them, keep going to the entrance. Buy a ticket from the office and then go inside. The path is all paved. It will take 20 to 30 minutes to get to the top. It can get slippery if it's raining or has just rained, so be careful. When we went the weather has hot and humid. We were sweating immediately. On top of that, there were a lot of mosquitoes. So bring water and use bug repellent. When we got to the top we were approached by another lady to buy refreshments. I felt like I couldn't relax with all the mosquitoes and the lady there. We went to the platform to take photos. It is beautiful, but without any wind and the constant mosquitoes, we quickly left. The best view of moon hill is actually at the entrance. There is a wooden platform across from the trail head. Climb up the stairs and you'll see Moon Hill. It is a great view! Come prepared so you can truly enjoy the experience.

Another great spot for taking photos and checking in. There isn't much else nearby to explore, but the scenery is beautiful. Free entrance
Wuan N — Google review
The Moon Hill is definately worth the 30min hike. I visited in early June and there weren't many tourists, it was very pleasant. The view from the top is truly amazing.
Michal K — Google review
The real deal beats all the pics hands down. It’s a steep climb up that will leave you breathless but there are seats to stop and rest on the way up. Very friendly old ladies at the top selling drinks too. Recommended!
Kelvin L — Google review
Recommend to come early before the crowd if you want to hike up. And bring the mosquito spray. It’s not an easy hike by the way. Lots of steps

Yulong Bridge, also known as Dragon Bridge, is a picturesque spot in the Yangshuo area. The bridge's reflection in the water forms a complete circle amidst stunning karst landscapes. To reach this hidden gem, visitors can take a non-touristy bike ride from Shibanqiao village, located just north of Yangshuo. This authentic trail leads through old farm villages, lush green mountains, and scenic viewpoints overlooking the Yulong river valley.
Beautiful stone bridge with unforgettable sunsets. Not to be missed.
Alexandre F — Google review
Yulong village has a beautiful ancient stone arch bridge and is a good starting point for rafting trip down Yulong River. You can get there easily from Yangshou by taking buses north towards Guilin or Yangdi to the city of Baisha and then a local taxi, three wheeler or motorcycle taxi (at the only stoplight int he city). Yulong village is about four kilometers west of Baisha.

(Translated by Google) The bridge is very beautiful but the rise of tourists and the popularity of damn boats has spoiled the entire landscape. Some traffic jams form under the bridge and there are hundreds of bamboo marks and a lot of commotion. There are bridges around that are just as beautiful and empty.
