Historic Sites
Plaza Cuartel in Puerto Princesa, Palawan is a historical site with a tragic past. It was once a military garrison built by Spanish colonizers and later occupied by Japanese forces during World War II. The plaza is now an outdoor park that serves as a solemn reminder of the Palawan Massacre, where over 100 American soldiers were burned by the Japanese. The area is surrounded by trees and features a monument commemorating the tragic event.
I was very happy to see renovations ongoing at this important historical site. There is signage, markers and plaques honoring the POWs who were imprisoned and perished here during WWII. A must see for those who care about history.
Kevin S — Google review
A really great historical place with historical facts on it. If you love history, this place is a must to visit.
Macky D — Google review
This is one of the historical places in Puerto Princessa if you take the City Tour. It is literally right across the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. In WWII, this place was a US military base back where American soldiers were imprisoned & burned alive by the Japanese. A few survivors were able to flee and swim across the harbor to the land nearby (since there was also a military base there). Years passed. One of the survivors, took the lead of creating this Memoire to serve a reminder of what happened & we hope to be able to learn a thing or 2 from it. Also,,, BEAUTIFUL SCENERY & VIEW!!! Unfortunately, a pier is being constructed nearby which might disrupt the ocean view from Plaza Cuartel.
Loren R — Google review
This place has a nice view and gives you a bit of the history of what used to be a military base in WWII and what has become of it after it was burned down by the Japanese. It would have been more interesting if there's a tour guide to properly explain butI guess since it has been burned down in 1944, it only serves to commemorate the brave soldiers who were burnt down with the place. Whilst here, you can sit down and enjoy the view which gives you a xalming feeling. You will also see kids running around.
Ma. R — Google review
Tobe honest, after reading about the massacre that occurred here towards the end of world war 2 I was really upset. It was shocking to think how those soldiers died while trying to help liberate Palawan from the Japanese. The monument donated by the remaining survivor really captured the brutal was they were executed
Brendan F — Google review
An important landmark in Palawan where the Palawan massacre of 1944 took place. A tranquil park at present, you can see the other side of the Puerto Princesa sea from here. Plaza Cuartel is a place to pay respects to the victims of that tragic event that is forever etched in history. There is a memorial designed by one of the only few survivors.
McRey I — Google review
The place was good to chill in or sight seeing due to this historical way back for WW2. You can read or discover some ancient history of our marines hero who fought us against the japanese trops. The place is good for rehearsing of any activities of school. Its a neighboring place at the main catholic church in Puerto Princessa Well recommended.
Jill T — Google review
Our visit to Plaza Cuartel in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, was both moving and educational. This historical site, with its tragic World War II backstory, serves as a poignant reminder of the past. The preserved ruins and memorial plaques offer a solemn atmosphere, allowing visitors to reflect on the sacrifices made during that time. The location's peaceful surroundings and the effort to commemorate the lives lost make Plaza Cuartel an essential stop for those interested in understanding Palawan's history and paying respects to the heroes of the past.

Honda Bay is a stunning destination that serves as a gateway to the natural wonders of Palawan. Known for its idyllic swimming and diving opportunities, this picturesque bay offers boat tours to charming nearby islands. While exploring Honda Bay, visitors can enjoy island-hopping adventures that include stops at Starfish Island, famous for its bamboo dining setups; Luli Island, with its unique shifting sandbar and snorkeling spots; and Cowrie Island, perfect for beach volleyball and seaside dining.
Simple yet very relaxing islands. Each island has its own beauty and uniqueness to offer. Swimming, snorkelling, or simply sitting down are all worth the time. I would advice to go here early in the morning to get a tour during peak seasons. A lot of tourists are in this place.
Iam R — Google review
A good day out with the family, lots of fun activities for the kids and beaches for parents to relax on. Not the best islands in Palawan because of the higher volume on tourists but still beautiful, don't expect reefs or colourful corals.
Zak H — Google review
Nice overall experience. Our tour guide Raquel was very knowledgeable, warm and attentive to all our needs. As well as our van driver and Kuya bangkeros especially Patrick who helped us everytime with our bags. Lunch at Starfish Island was yummy with mostly grilled options, fish, shrimps and liempo. There's a small market for some seafood which they can actually cook for you. We had fruits for dessert with their local yellow sweet watermelon and pineapple. Bring a lot of sunblock, wide brimmed hats and your own cold water if possible as the heat can really be a beast especially at noon time. Cellphone signal can be intermittent. Luli island was our first stop, it had a small sandbar strip as it was high tide then. There were also floating cottages where you can chill if you choose not to swim. Overall a great experience especially seeing the crystal blue waters plus the fine sand of Cowrie island, the most beautiful and biggest of the 3.
Mabel M — Google review
If you like an easy simple tour, this bay tour is for you. Which you can also snorkel. Guide brought us first to a rental place for gears. You’ll have to see it for yourself tho, what view you can see beneath the water or, on or around the islands/sandbars the guide will bring you to. Personally I’d have preferred just one island, ie. Starfish or Cowrie. I’d have enjoyed more staying in one island for a few hours. We didn’t get to go to Starfish because somehow it was scratched from the itinerary. My sister’s friends knew about it but naturally we didn’t know which is which. Until we saw pictures online. Hence the two star review. And because we could’ve gotten a cheaper per pax at our own hotel. For serious snorkelling, some online reviewers prefer the northern part of Palawan. I hope they improve the wharf toilets. It was dirty and needed flushing, but no water even from the tap. Just a half pail of water to wash hands I suppose.

Awesome!! Pambato reef is a floating cottage where you can see lots of different corals and fish.!LULI island means lulubug lilitaw and the last island we visit is cowrie. We eat lunch buffet.lots of pilipino foods.yumyumyum!!
May P — Google review
Must to do in private tour as it’s cost total 1.300pesos for rent the boat. We rented the tricycle from Puerto princesa to Honda bay 600 pesos. Loved Pambato reef is a floating cottage where you can see lots of different corals and fish and Starfish island. Nice the other 2 Luli island and the last island we visit is Cowrie Island but the lunch buffet was poor, just to fill the tummy! I highly recommend to have lunch at Starfish island (see picts). Rich fresh food and Unique taste.

Honda Bay island hopping is a lot of fun, snorkeling feeding fish was the highlight of the day! All of the islands are great!

It was such a wonderful experience to see one of the beautiful islands here, especially the islets. First time to travel in Palawan and it was really an enjoyable trip!! 😍

Bakery
Baker's Hill is a popular spot in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, known for its delectable baked goods and picturesque surroundings. Apart from offering a wide array of pastries like hopia, the place also features attractions such as life-size sculptures, a mini zoo, and a viewing deck. Visitors can indulge in city tours to explore historical sites like Binuatan Creations, Heritage Museum, Mitras Ranch, and the Palawan Rescue and Wildlife Center with its crocodile farm.
Always been my one and only go-to pasalubong place! Love their hopia, pianono 💯, crinkles and more! I am a local here but currently living away. This place has been here since I was a kid, there were ostriches before—named Homer and Marge, sadly, they're not around anymore. But still, it's a nice spot to visit when you're in Puerto Princesa. Their goodies are the best, must try 💯
Reya M — Google review
This is such a cute little cozy spot. I was not expecting the peacocks and the views. I knew there were a restaurant and we were going for drinks but the other activities were a surprise. Great if you want to relax a bit or bring the kids. There’s a nice play area for them while you sit and watch them. There were so many beautiful flowers we have never seen before. The owners did a great job.
Shabrica W — Google review
Didn’t expect it to be this big—and beautiful! There’s honestly so much to see and do here. The place is huge, and everywhere you turn, there’s a photo-worthy spot—prepare to spend extra time just uploading everything 😅 The landscaping is on point too; it almost feels like you’re walking around a theme park with all the charming details. After all the picture-taking, make sure to drop by the in-house Baker's Hill bakery for some pasalubong. Their Rebel Bar is chef’s kiss—definitely a must-try! 😋
John V — Google review
Did a little walk through. Super cute place. We didn't have any kids with us but would be a great family and kiddie place. Still enjoyed though
Melissa H — Google review
Try bringing home their famous Hopia which comes in many flavors. There's even a Civet cat coffee available there. Marvel the landscape and mini zoo with beautiful peacocks, too. Entrance is absolutely free.
Beauty&Diamonds — Google review
Great find. Think it is a locale secret. Not much advertised in things to do in town, but such a great family theme park. Enough to see and do to keep entertained for hours. Great for all sorts of coffee and local bakery specialty Hopia
Houseproud M — Google review
Baker’s Hill in Puerto Princesa City is a charming stop included in the city tour, and the best part is the free entrance. Visitors can stroll around and enjoy its well-kept grounds featuring beautiful flower arrangements in large water containers and even spot elegant peacocks roaming the area. The place also houses a restaurant and a bake shop, making it perfect for both sightseeing and food trips. Don’t miss their freshly baked treats—especially the pianonos and wide variety of hopia, which are popular take-home pasalubong.
Norman G — Google review
Awesome! That's how I describe the area. Will come back to check out their pasalubong center because I was too busy taking dozens of photos of their area. I love their restaurant too! They have a cery friendly, accomodating nad professional stagf who handled all my food request. Ohh I love their food too!!! The nature vibe reminded me of my grandma who just passed away. I guesse she was communicating me through my nature adventure. Commendable service and a place to visit if you happened to stay in PPS for a day or 2 days.

Nestled on a picturesque hilltop, Mitra's Ranch in Puerto Princesa, Palawan offers breathtaking views of the city and sea. This former private property of the late Senator Ramon Mitra is now a popular tourist attraction known for its well-kept gardens and peaceful ambiance. Visitors can enjoy zip-line rides, go picnicking, or simply unwind while taking in the panoramic beauty of Puerto Princesa from the ranch's viewpoint.
I went on a quick tour before my flight and opted for the package for 550 pesos, which included the giant slide, web, skywalk, and zip line. It was definitely worth the price for me. You can also dine and relax at their café/restaurant, which has a 50-peso entrance fee. They’ll ask you to leave your outdoor shoes before entering. My tour guide and his kid got a free ride on the giant slide since I was the only customer, and the slide only allows pairs to go at a time.
Angel L — Google review
We enjoyed our time here. Everything was quick while we were there. The only downfall is on the slide, everyone just runs to the front desk and the person serves whoever is there without having any control over those who are actually standing in line. It gets a little confusing bc people are all over the place. They need to control the flow better. We also paid to get into the area across from the restaurant thinking there was an entrance fee into the place but in reality, It was only an area to relax. It wasn’t much but it would’ve been nice to know before we paid bc we were only trying to walk to the slide.
Shabrica W — Google review
Get to experience having a photo on a golden horse, eat halo halo, have a zipline and slide experience here. The beauty is in the nice, simple yet sturdy house on the hilltop made of the sturdiest wood. The house's nice, wide design can make you feel the breeze overlooking the sea and islands. Entrance to the house is P50.00 per person.
Beauty&Diamonds — Google review
Mitra’s Ranch is a nice stop in Puerto Princesa with a ₱50 entrance fee. The view of Honda Bay from the veranda is really relaxing. The house has memorabilia of the late Speaker Ramon Mitra, a well-known sabungero politician who became Speaker of the House and even ran for president in the ’90s. The place is simple, but it’s worth a visit for both the history and the scenery during the city tour.
Norman G — Google review
A great spot for a leisurely afternoon, enjoying lunch, or simply having coffee. The place offers a scenic view overlooking the city and the sea. You can explore the house or dine there for a small entrance fee. There are also some rides available, though we couldn’t try them due to the rain during our visit.
Russell J — Google review
If you’re visiting Baker’s Hill, I highly recommend making a quick stop at Mitra’s Ranch since it’s just a short drive away. The main highlight of this place is the breathtaking panoramic view of Puerto Princesa, making it a great spot for sunset watching and taking photos. 🌅 The ranch itself has an interesting history. While it’s primarily known as a horse ranch, I got the impression that it may have also been a farm for cockfighting chickens in the past. The landscape is quite hilly, and I noticed that the horses looked exhausted, possibly due to the steep terrain. Unfortunately, the overall maintenance of the area, including the parking lot, could be improved. A bit of renovation and better upkeep would definitely make the place more tourist-friendly, especially for those who want to sit, relax, and enjoy the view. When we visited, it was really hot, so I was glad to see a coffee shop near the entrance where visitors can grab a drink and cool off. If you’re up for an adventure, there’s also a zipline located below, but be aware that it requires going down steep steps, which may not be ideal for seniors or those with knee problems. Overall, Mitra’s Ranch is a great stop if you’re looking for a quick photo op, a peaceful view of the city, and a breezy spot to watch the sunset. Just don’t expect too many amenities, and be prepared for some uphill walking! 🚶‍♂️ ✅ Pros: Amazing city views, great for sunset watching, windy and relaxing atmosphere ❌ Cons: Needs better maintenance, steep steps not ideal for seniors, can get very hot during midday Would I recommend it? Yes, if you’re already in the area! Just bring water, wear comfy shoes, and don’t expect too much beyond the view. 😊
Sean A — Google review
If you’re after serene views, gentle breezes, and a slow afternoon away from crowds, Mitra’s Ranch delivers. It’s not about luxury or high-energy thrills—it’s about calm moments and open-air space. Just be prepared that some facilities might appear a bit worn and less polished than expected. You can try a few light adventures: a giant slide, skywalk with zipline, giant swing, and horseback riding. However, activities felt a bit overpriced for what they offered, implying maintenance and quality issues
Dennis L — Google review
We went there for rides, and you can finish all 4 as quick as 30 mins. Even quicker depending on queue!

The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is a mountainous park with a 5-mile underground river and caves that offer boat tours. It's a nominee for the New 7 Wonders of Nature and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage List. The park features breathtaking rock formations, diverse wildlife, and a unique geological formation that attracts tourists. Visitors can explore the underground river through a network of caves and grottos on boat tours.
A living, breathing museum of nature's art 😍 It is indeed one of the Wonders of the World. The process to get here is very organized and safe. Boats from piers have designated numbers and are written on each life vest so you won't board a wrong boat. They will give you a helmet before walking inside the forest that will lead you to the Underground river. They also provide audio guides as it is prohibited to create loud sounds inside the cave because it will disrupt the ecosystem there. Beware of 2 things though: 1. The resident monkeys roaming the area. They can get aggressive and persistent. 2. The bat droppings inside the cave. They can contain harmful bacteria that will cause diseases. Overall, it was an excellent experience 👌 the balance of preservation and tourism is very evident.
Kath A — Google review
Features a navigable underground river that flows through a limestone karst mountain landscape, offering visitors a unique and awe-inspiring experience. - **Best Time to Visit:** The dry season - **Tour Options:** Guided boat tours usually last about 2-3 hours and include a paddle through the underground river, showcasing stunning stalactites, stalagmites, and diverse wildlife. - **Tips:** - Wear comfortable clothing and bring rain gear if needed. - Book your tour in advance, as it’s a popular attraction. - Bring your camera, but ensure it’s waterproof or kept safe during the boat ride.

really amazing experience and educational. just so many people at the time we toured it. but everyone, our tour guide (she took my photo ♡) and boat tour operator were very pleasant. I'm more of a museum person but i recommend stopping by! just be wary of the smell (because of bat droppings) and crowds
Shiro-san 2 — Google review
This is a good experience. It is quite touristy. We got a boat from the mainland to the island where the caves are. The island is full of wildlife which was a highlight for us. Lots of monkey and monitor lizards. The caves are beautiful with lots of bats flying around. You go into the cave on a small boat 9km in which takes around 25 minutes. Overall a nice experience but there are ALOT of people doing it
Anna B — Google review
A fantastic experience and well worth the trip, the cave is enormous and the tour only shows a fraction of it but the rock structures are phenomenal and some of the larger chambers are over 80m tall. The tour provides a listening device with an audiolog describing all the different parts of the cave and river. 10/10 would visit again

My friend and I went there. It was a fun experience. Beautiful cave. If you are planning to visit, be careful with travel agents. Pick carefully and check their reviews before giving them your business. I made a mistake and was ripped off. Cost for this trip alone through agency was 2700 pesos and 150 for environmental fee. Total 2850 pesos. Includes underground river, transportation, and lunch.
Dami S — Google review
Visiting the Underground River in Puerto Princesa feels like stepping into a living miracle. The cave is mysterious, enchanting, and truly breathtaking — no wonder it’s a UNESCO Wonder of Nature! The most unforgettable moment? Seeing a massive mountain of bat guano inside, literally the size of a ten-story building. Nature is raw, wild, and beautiful here. An absolute must-see!
Дмитрий К — Google review
The underground river is amazing, a stunning part of nature, a mesmerising place to visit, don't miss your chance to visit once in your lifetime. Highly recommended for family, friends, couples or singles. The people are very friendly and helpful.

The Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center, also known as the Crocodile Farm, is a traditional park and breeding facility that showcases numerous large and small crocodiles in enclosures. Located in the largest province of the Philippines, this center offers visitors a glimpse into the diverse wildlife of Palawan.
sometimes you need crocs, but real talk, a lil bit scared. but you need to learn more how they live. when your in Palawan, visit here, you will meet #aklat, the huge crocs.
Jocelyn ( — Google review
I visited the Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center during my recent trip to Puerto Princesa, and I’d say it was one of the more eye-opening parts of my itinerary. The place is often referred to as the “Crocodile Farm,” but there’s actually more to it than just crocodiles. As soon as I got there, I was greeted by the sound of birds and the smell of fresh foliage—yes, it has that “wild” vibe right off the bat. The tour started with a short orientation inside a small museum-like area, where I saw an actual preserved skeleton of a massive crocodile that used to live there. It’s jaw-dropping in size—literally. From there, we were guided toward the hatchery area, where baby crocs are kept in separate enclosures. I was both fascinated and slightly unnerved seeing dozens of baby crocodiles squirming around. They looked harmless but knowing what they’d grow into gave me chills. Then came the highlight: the adult crocodile enclosures. There’s a sturdy metal walkway above their pens, and I could see at least a dozen large crocs lounging in the mud or half-submerged in water. One of them let out a deep rumble-like hiss, which made everyone on the platform stop in their tracks. It reminded me these animals are powerful predators, not just zoo attractions. What I appreciated most was that this center isn’t just a tourist spot—it has a strong conservation and rescue mission. They also care for other wildlife, like hornbills, eagles, and other rescued animals. Some are in rehabilitation, while others are permanent residents due to injuries or being raised in captivity. The facility isn’t flashy or commercialized, but it serves its purpose. It’s educational, humbling, and worth visiting if you want a closer look at Palawan’s natural biodiversity—and a better understanding of why conservation matters. Pros: • Up-close view of crocodiles at all stages of life • Educational and conservation-focused • Chance to see rescued birds and mammals Cons: • Some areas need maintenance • Not ideal for people who don’t like the sight (or smell) of wild animals Would I recommend it? Yes—especially if you want to experience something raw and real in Palawan beyond beaches and islands.
Dennis L — Google review
Very nice place. Lots of Information given by the guide. Plenty of saltwater and freshwater Crocs to see. Pay a little extra and get to hold a baby croc and have pics. There are also other animals to see here including snakes, birds and more.
Adam G — Google review
The Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center (Crocodile Farm) is an amazing place to learn about wildlife conservation while seeing crocodiles up close! The experience was both educational and exciting — from seeing baby crocodiles in the hatchery to the huge adults in the enclosures. The guided tour was informative, and the staff clearly care about protecting endangered species and educating visitors about the importance of wildlife preservation. Aside from crocodiles, there are also other animals like birds and endemic species found only in Palawan, which made the trip even more interesting. The place is well-maintained, and it’s great for families, students, and anyone who loves nature and animals. Visiting here not only gives you a fun and memorable experience but also helps support conservation efforts in Palawan. Definitely worth a stop when exploring Puerto Princesa
Ivan S — Google review
Appreciate the conservation they are doing here. Cages or pens are clean and sanitized. The staffs look like they genuinely care about the animals. Our guide was informative and funny as well. I just hope they could improve and maintain the place more. There are a lot of vacant areas that can be developed to attract more visitors. The Nature Park looks more like a haunted forest than a park 😢 And it was home to just 2 types of animals. Tourists won't mind paying more if it means the travel to this part of Puerto Prinsesa is worth it.
Kath A — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center is best known for its crocodile farm, but it’s also home to other fascinating animals like the bearcat, peacock, and eagle. The tour was fun and informative — our guide was hilarious and shared lots of interesting facts! You can even hold a baby crocodile for a photo. The animals look well cared for and the place is worth a visit when in Puerto Princesa. 🌿 Tip: bring a fan or mini fan and payong, it can get really hot in the afternoon! ☀️
Janlie B — Google review
Been here 2 times already. Place is great for kids. Aside from the crocodiles there are other animals to check. I just hope that we can continue to maintain the park. Very accessible also. We just commute and took jeep and told manong to drop us at Crocodile farm.
Kris A — Google review
The fee is about 25 pesos to enter. I really liked all the animals, it was fun exploring and studying them. But I hate to say that the facility is being cruel to them. Instead of a sanctuary and a facility to protect these crocodiles, they are mostly captured and taken here basically as a prison. The crocodiles aren't taken here because they are endangered, they were taken to this facility as a "punishment". Most of these crocodiles spend their years at the facility where they didn't release them back to the wild. With all due respect, most the crocodiles does have kill counts and records of them killing and eating people, specifically fishermen. The young crocodiles are bred and taken away, instead of releasing them to the wild they export it into different products. It's sad to see them tightly cramped into a small box which barely has any space. That includes the larger crocodiles that were kept in tiny concrete spaces which look quite uncomfortable. The staff are really quite friendly although the facility is old, runned-down and the crocodiles aren't taken care enough. These can lead them to distress and it is quite sad and cruel to see these animals kept in captivity for accidently attacking humans. The last part is, the last auction where you can hold a baby crocodile and take a picture with it. It seems cool at first but it gets dark and cruel instantly. The baby crocodile's mouths are shut tight and they are kept in tiny cramped corners. Visitors are quite noisy and eager to touch them which is sad because crocodiles are sensitive to loud sound and can distress them. I noticed how the baby crocodiles always move around aggressively and tries to escape from the crowd. I support the staff, but the facility I really dislike. Please don't support any of the business and the stuff they are doing to crocodiles. They are endangered species and should not be toyed and used for products and other commercial uses.

The Palawan Butterfly Ecological Garden and Tribal Village is a wonderful place that combines nature, beauty, and culture all in one visit. The garden is peaceful and full of vibrant butterflies flying around, making it a perfect spot for nature lovers and photographers. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, sharing interesting facts about the butterflies and other animals in the garden. What makes this place even more special is the Tribal Village, where you can meet and interact with members of the Palaw’an tribe. They showcase their traditional way of life, crafts, and survival skills, giving visitors a meaningful glimpse into Palawan’s rich indigenous culture. It’s a relaxing, educational, and eye-opening experience — great for families, students, and tourists who want to appreciate both the natural and cultural treasures of Palawan. A must-visit while in Puerto Princesa!
Ivan S — Google review
The place offers a peaceful setting, but the butterfly collection is quite small and the butterflies themselves aren’t very large or spectacular. It’s a nice spot for a short visit but may not meet expectations if you’re hoping for a vibrant butterfly display. What stood out most was the live tribal music — the rhythmic drumbeats and soulful guitar instrument created an authentic atmosphere that really connected me to their heritage. It was a beautiful, respectful glimpse into Palawan’s indigenous culture.

Visited the Butterfly Ecological Garden & Tribal Village in Palawan recently, and it was both calming and eye-opening. The butterflies flitting around the garden made for a peaceful walk, and I liked seeing the other rescued animals too (bearcats, peacocks, scorpions, etc.). The tribal part was the most memorable — the guides shared stories, showed indigenous crafts, music, and taught about the Palaw’an way of life, which felt genuine and respectful. Entrance is super affordable, so if you’re in Puerto Princesa and have an hour or two to spare, this spot is worth dropping by.
Norman G — Google review
Definitely a 5 stars garden all things considered! I was initially a little skeptical about the place but it was very well kept, maintained and the staff/guides were well trained and is inclusive in the very reasonable 60peso ticket. Other than the butterflies, they kept small interesting insect like scorpion, giant millipede and stick insect. Local palawan peacock and bearcat. And the tribal village really catches my eye even with their musical instrument, blow dart, bamboo basket and how they start a fire. Must visit!
Eng L — Google review
The Palawan Butterfly Ecological Garden and Tribal Village is a hidden gem just outside Puerto Princesa that offers a surprisingly rich and educational experience. It’s more than just a butterfly sanctuary — it’s a window into Palawan’s biodiversity and indigenous culture. The butterfly garden is small but beautiful, with a variety of butterflies fluttering around lush tropical plants. Staff members are friendly and often share interesting facts about butterfly life cycles and conservation efforts. You can also see other animals like stick insects, scorpions, Crocodile and even a Palawan bearcat up close. The real highlight, though, is the Tribal Village. Members of the indigenous Palaw’an tribe share parts of their culture — from traditional hunting tools and crafts to music and language. The presentation is done with warmth and respect, and visitors are encouraged to interact and ask questions. It’s a rare and respectful cultural exchange that adds a deeper layer to the visit. Tips: • Bring small bills for tips or to buy handmade crafts. • The area is not very large, so you can explore everything in about 45 minutes to an hour. • It’s a great stop when paired with other attractions nearby, like Baker’s Hill or Mitra’s Ranch. Overall: A worthwhile visit for families, nature lovers, and those curious about Palawan’s indigenous heritage. It’s educational, respectful, and definitely more meaningful than your average tourist stop.

Get to see some animals natural in the Philippines on display. There are many ushers there who educates visitors. The tribes who presented look clean and healthy, too. Very interesting facts they share. See the direct descendants of the Tabon Cave men in the flesh!

Felt like I was back in biology class—but way cooler! This place isn’t just about butterflies (though yes, they are majestic). It’s also home to a bunch of rare and fascinating animals. I couldn’t believe they had a bearcat—yes, a real bearcat! There are also peacocks, and that’s when I learned the peacock is actually the official seal of Palawan—how cool is that? You’ll also find crocodiles, praying mantises, scorpions, and more. It’s like a mini wildlife sanctuary with so much to explore. The guides are super helpful in explaining what you're seeing—just follow their lead so you don’t miss out on all the fun facts. Definitely worth the visit!

Ugong Rock Adventures is a thrilling tourist attraction located just north of Puerto Princesa in Palawan. It offers an array of exciting activities such as zip-lining through the jungle, exploring underground caves, and trekking on strategic trails that lead to stunning views. The site also serves as a gateway to various natural attractions in Palawan, including island-hopping tours in Honda Bay and the Tubbataha Reef Marine Park.
A Thrilling Adventure at Ugong Rock, Palawan If you’re looking for an adventure that gets your heart racing and your arms burning (in the best way possible), Ugong Rock Adventures in Palawan is the place to be! I went in thinking it was just a casual climb—but wow, was I in for a surprise. The journey started with spelunking through tight limestone formations, squeezing through narrow gaps, and using ropes to pull myself up steep rock faces. There were moments when I questioned my life choices (and my upper body strength), but the amazing guides kept things fun and encouraging. The climb was intense but so rewarding. At the top, the panoramic view of the surrounding forest was absolutely breathtaking! But the real highlight? The Superman-style zipline descent! Instead of taking the seated option, I went full superhero mode, soaring face-first over the lush greenery below. The rush of wind, the insane speed, and the feeling of flying made all the effort worth it. Ugong Rock Adventures is a must-visit if you love adrenaline, nature, and a good challenge. Just be prepared to work those muscles—and don’t skip leg day before coming! (Jan-2023)

This was part of our trip to the underground river - it is 300pesos to do the cave walk, which you can then walk back down, or zip line for 250-350 more. We chose to walk back down. Overall it was fine - interesting enough but our guide didn't really explain much and it felt quite rushed to just get to the top.

I had a great time trying this new adventure. The locals are very polite and will assist you all the way. Protective gears such as helmet and gloves are provided. Be careful from the edges of the rocks but the guide will inform you ahead and knows the techniques how to pass through narrow paths. If you are into adventure, you'll love it. There is a 90degree rope climbing. When you reach the top, you'll be rewarded by an amazing view. There's an optional zipline (with additional fee) to go down. My friend and I decided to climb down and saw more of the rock formations. The sound or "ugong" produced from the rocks are amazing. I encourage to try and support this activity you'll never forget in PPS Palawan 😊

What an amazing place and lovely surprise. We were supposed to go to a different zipline on our underground river tour but at the last minute it was canceled due to maintenance so we were redirected here instead. I’m so glad we were! Had I known how amazing it was, I would’ve absolutely booked this. The staff and guides were informative, friendly, funny and so very helpful. At 67 years, I wasn’t confident about climbing up inside the cave, but the women that were the guides inside the cave helped me at every moment, showing me where to place my hands, my feet and how to get me and my belly through the crevices, making me laugh and facilitating me to achieve a wonderful climb that I never thought I would be able to do. Don’t be intimidated by age or ability as you are in assisted the entire time by the guides, with harnesses and ropes and pulleys to help you climb the more difficult parts. All of the gear and safety equipment is provided. If I can do this, you can! I want to thank them all and would give them a ten out of five stars. The zip line was just the thrilling cream on top and fun reward. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I’ll definitely be back. Big hugs from Santa!

A very nice place and a great adventure. It was not a long hike will take you like less the 10 mins if you just walk up without taking any pic. You have to wait a lil bit if there’s a lot of hiker cause they have some activity inside the cave. But it was an awesome adventure admiring the beautiful formations of nature. If you are tired walking back you can avail the zip line cost like 250 pesos. 🙌🏻

Puerto Princesa City Baywalk Park is a serene and picturesque destination in Palawan, offering scenic walking areas and breathtaking bay views. The seaside promenade is lined with palm trees, making it perfect for walkers, bicyclists, and joggers. In addition to beach and island activities, visitors can take a city tour to explore the historical aspects of Puerto Princesa.
It's a place where people can do fitness activities like jogging, biking or walking. If you are a seafood lover, this place is recommendable for such. You can enjoy the and drinks while experiencing beautiful skies during sunset.

It’s definitely a go-to place, especially at night. The view of the mountain range on the left side is scenic and relaxing. There are plenty of food carts and restaurants to choose from. You can find meals ranging from below ₱100 to over ₱400–₱500, depending on what you’re looking for.
John V — Google review
Puerto Princesa Baywalk is honestly one of the best public spots in the city if you’re looking for a relaxing place to hang out. I love going there late in the afternoon, especially just before sunset. The sea breeze, the view of the water, and the warm colors of the sky make it a peaceful and beautiful spot to just slow down and breathe. The walkway is wide and great for casual strolls or biking, and there are usually families, couples, and tourists around—everyone enjoying the same calm vibe. There are food stalls along the area too, selling grilled seafood, street food like fish balls, and cool drinks, which makes the experience even better. What I appreciate is that the area feels safe and generally clean. But I do hope the city government continues to maintain it well—not just the pathway and landscaping, but also the facilities. One thing I noticed is the lack of clean, accessible restrooms. That would make a big difference for both locals and tourists. It would also be great if they could add more shaded areas or resting spots, especially for older visitors and families with kids. It gets really hot during the day, and a few more covered benches would go a long way. Still, even with those improvements needed, the Baywalk is a gem in the city. It’s not commercialized or overly crowded, and that’s part of its charm. It gives you a real sense of the local life in Puerto Princesa—calm, simple, and close to nature.

Maybe I was lucky but it was a partly cloudy day with strong chill onshore wind blowing. Did not sweat a single drop while walking and doing some stationary exercise there. Enjoyed the scenery, weather but wasn't hungry enough to eat the various restaurants and street hawker food then. Highly recommended!

It's just ok. But they've dug up the surroundings quite a bit so you need to be careful of the mud, puddles, and holes in the ground. The view though is nice, especially on a clear day.

Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Puerto Princesa, Philippines, is a significant religious site with a rich history. Originally built in 1872 and reconstructed several times, it stands as a neo-Gothic structure with twin towers and vaulted ceilings. Despite its simple architecture, the cathedral holds great importance to the community and serves as the main place of worship for nearly 150 years.
Very beautiful Neo-Gothic cathedral. There's not much in the way of Spanish Gothic in evidence, which I found odd. Given the dedication, it's not surprising to find many artworks including paintings and sculptures of Mary. The roof of the interior has a V shaped ceiling has portraits of the apostles.

A peaceful and beautiful spot right in the city. The blue and white facade really stands out, and the inside feels calm and welcoming. It’s a great place to pause, reflect, or say a quick prayer. Right across from Plaza Cuartel, so it’s easy to stop by if you’re exploring the area. Simple, quiet, and worth a quick visit—even if you’re not religious.

The Immaculate Conception Cathedral is one of Puerto Princesa’s most beautiful and meaningful landmarks. Its stunning blue and white Gothic-inspired architecture immediately catches your eye, and the moment you step inside, you can feel the peaceful and sacred atmosphere. This cathedral holds great historical value as one of the oldest churches in Palawan, standing as a symbol of the city’s faith and heritage. The interior is simple yet elegant, and it’s a perfect place for quiet reflection or prayer. It’s also conveniently located near the Plaza Cuartel, making it easy to include in a short city tour. Whether you’re a Catholic or just someone who appreciates history and architecture, the Immaculate Conception Cathedral is definitely worth a visit. It’s a serene stop that lets you experience both the spiritual and cultural heart of Puerto Princesa.

A peaceful and beautiful spot in the heart of the city. The cathedral is stunning from the outside, but the real beauty is inside — calm, sacred, and perfect for quiet reflection. A must-visit whether you're local or just passing through.

Through the years, they changed the color of the church. From blue and white to white and brown. Had a lot of renovation but it's still as beautiful! A lot of memories here in this place. Luckily, they already have a tarpaulin of the schedule of masses and services. Always pray and light a candle. 😊💙

🕊️ A Review from a Heart, Returning Home As someone who was raised in a non-denominational background, I never expected that my search for truth would bring me to the doors of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral here in Puerto Princesa. But here I am—on the path to becoming Catholic—and this Cathedral has been nothing short of a sacred turning point in my life. I came not just as a curious observer, but as a soul yearning to encounter Christ in the fullness of His Church. And by grace, I did—with my heart open, my rosary in hand, and my beloved, beside me in prayer. The first time I entered, I was stunned by the traditional reverence that wrapped the place like a veil. The high altar drew my eyes heavenward — not merely architectural, but theological. The communion rails still intact reminded me that the sacred is not to be rushed or handled casually. There’s even a section cloaked in a deep blue curtain, entirely dedicated to Mama Mary, with an icon so tender and ancient, it might very well be the traditional image drawn by St. Mark the Evangelist himself. Outside, the neo-Gothic facade in tones of aged white and ivory stands like a sentinel of time. Statues of Mary and St. Joseph greet visitors with open arms. Inside, the Adoration Chapel is where my heart landed. The monstrance is fixed right into the wall—not hidden, not moved —anchored, much like the Real Presence it contains. There, beneath the gaze of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Selah and I sat in stillness, praying our rosaries, whispering intentions, and watching as silence became communion. We’ve returned for weekday Mass, Saturday vigil, and hope to make this our spiritual home every Sunday Mass. Every visit has deepened our faith, not just because of what the Cathedral is, but Who dwells in it—Jesus Christ, truly present in the Eucharist, calling sinners, wanderers, and seekers home. This Cathedral is more than just a landmark in Puerto Princesa. It is a place where heaven touches earth, where seekers become pilgrims, where Catholicity is alive, and where prodigals begin their journey home. If you’re ever in the city—Catholic or not—come. Sit. Look up. Listen. And maybe, like me and my girlfriend, you’ll find yourself found in Christ's One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.

It's a popular spot for surfers due to its big waves, making it perfect for adventure-seekers. However, it also offers a peaceful retreat for those seeking relaxation. The beach is ideal for people-watching and picnics, with the nearby Nagtabon Viewdeck offering stunning views of the cove and sunset.
Great place for those whom likes calm beach with "wavy water". Sand reaches far into the sea, sparing need of aqua shoes (no reef, sharp stones, etc.). Best to come here with a driver, who usialy stay 5h. For such trip from PPS we payed about 3500 pesos.

3 stars because beach was dirty with trash at stores and entrance and somewhat on beach. No fee to enter. Beautiful view, water clean and clear. Nice waves. Multiple Sari sari stores there beer food etc. Was not crowded. I will go back someday.

Best beach in pps in my opinion. Nice waters, waves at times, lots of space and nice sand. Beach was clean, there's a rocky area down the end which is fun. There are stalls selling food and drink. I recommend the first stall on the right as you arrive at the beach. Very nice lady, helpful and cooks delicious food. I recommend getting the fish as all the fish is fresh straight out of the sea and is delicious. You can see the fishermen come in with their catch's which is interesting.

It's a beautiful beach. Very few people. The sea is wavy and with clear water, the sand is white and you dont need water shoes. If you want a shady place, there are many palm trees all along, or you can rent a little cottage for ph$500 and that gives you access to bathrooms and showers, too There are many small stores where you can buy snacks and drinks and also eat freshly caught fish Some people are dirty and careless, though, and dont take their trash with them or throw it into the trash cans

Free beach , just a fantastic beach with everything you could ask for. The curved beach is lined with Palm trees , soft off white sand , crystal clear water that’s quite shallow for about 50m and it’s all sand and no seaweed/ coral rock under foot. Great little shop that does superb mango shakes . There’s surf board and SUP hire and a kite surf business. No surf on our arrival as it’s mid summer so the sea was lovely and flat. A proper stunning Philippino beach , snorkelling area at either side of the bay- No jellyfish seen

The brewery offers a range of signature year-round craft beers like Ambog Ale, Palawan Wit, PalawAn, Ayahay IPA, and Hunter.

We loved the beer, just wish they would freeze the glasses to keep the beer colder for longer. Coconut rum was a pleasant treat, although you can definitely taste the water from the ice cubes. Would recommend using filtered water for the ice. Would definitely return if we had time.

An absolute must visit if you're in Puerto Princesa. Small home-made craft store made and sold by the locals onsite. Very large selection of crafts from handbags, coasters, placemats, fanny packs, pencil cases, organization bags, etc... Basically if they can weave it, you'll find it here. You'll probably buy more things than you intended. They make unique souvenirs or gifts for others. Prices are very cheap and staff are very friendly. You can walk into the back where they're weaving all the crafts and they'll even let you try the equipment. Great place to visit and shop.

Its a local government initiative to empower tourism in Puerto Princesa (If I heard it right from the person doing the tour here 😂) They will let you try to weave (for FREE! Binuatan Creations is the name of this factory & store located near the South Road. They manufacture handloom woven products using Palawan's local fibers & grasses endemic to Palawan. The fiber & grass material are in different colors. Mostly women are employed here. Visitors are treated for a hands-on experience in weaving with the handlooms. There were numerous products for sale in the local shop like ladies bags, pouches, wallets, purses, bracelets, headbands, garlands, slippers, household items like placemats, coasters, table runners, window blinds & curtains as well as small office items. My wife bought a few items from the shop including a nice ladies bag. Prices were very cheap. Highly recommendable.

Visit Binuatan Creations if you want to try hand- weaving using dried grass and other fibers. Beside the weaving area is their showroom where you can buy locally made products like placemats, table runners and banigs (mats made from grass), as well as wild, naturally processed honey, civet coffee and other delicacies from Puerto Princesa.

It’s a nice experience to try to weave. It looks easy but quiet difficult for the unexperienced. You’ll appreciate each product more if you do . You will also have great respect to all weavers.

Islands
Luli Island, part of the picturesque Honda Bay in Puerto Princesa, is a unique sandbar that emerges during low tide and disappears underwater when the tide rises. This tiny islet offers visitors an exceptional experience of strolling on the sandbar surrounded by the crystal-clear turquoise waters of the bay. While island hopping around Honda Bay may not be as stunning as El Nido or Coron, it's still worth exploring if you're in Puerto Princesa.
Will definitely go back. The beach is so inviting. I have enjoyed swimming and snorkeling. There's a diving area as well. The kids would definitely enjoy it too. There are so many activities you can enjoy such as kayaking, snorkeling, and swimming.
Marcos B — Google review
It was part of the Honda Bay Island hopping tour. It's such a cute Island. At high tides, it's barely there. Getting a buko coconut there is a must. Drink it when bathing in the sea then carve out the coconut to eat it.
Meltem K — Google review
Luli Island is a unique stop in the Honda Bay island-hopping tour, known for its sandbar that “sinks and rises” with the tide — hence the name Lulubog, Lilitaw. It’s a cool natural feature and a fun photo spot, especially during low tide when the sandbar is fully visible. The island is generally good for swimming, lounging, and quick stops, with shallow, calm waters and a few shaded areas to rest. There’s also a small diving platform for those who want to jump into deeper water. However, the place clearly needs better maintenance. During our visit, there was noticeable floating marine debris along the shore, which took away from the otherwise beautiful scenery. While this might depend on tides or weather, more regular cleanup would definitely improve the experience. With increasing tourist traffic, upkeep is important to preserve the island’s appeal. Snorkeling isn’t ideal here, as there’s not much marine life, and the island can feel crowded when multiple tour groups arrive at the same time. Facilities are basic, and there’s not much to do beyond swimming and taking pictures. Pros: • Unique sandbar that appears/disappears with the tide • Good for swimming and photos • Quick, convenient stop during Honda Bay tour Cons: • Floating marine debris; area needs better upkeep • Crowded during peak hours • Limited activities and marine life Overall: Luli Island is an interesting and photogenic spot, but it would benefit greatly from more consistent maintenance and environmental care. A worthwhile part of the Honda Bay tour — just don’t expect to spend too long here.

Part of Honda Bay Island Hopping Tour but you can actually purchase a ticket for this island without going to the others. If you one person, you should purchase the tour from an agency. If you are more than one person, purchae on your own, you can save 50% or more. I was with my friend and purchased the tour through a travel agency. Found out cheaper to purchase on your own when we got to the boat. I would have saved 50% on the two of us vs an agency. Nice beach to swim or just take a dip.
Dami S — Google review
It is quite difficult to review this island actually. At first, it seems like a place with a perfect beach, diving spot, cute huts where you can get your food and drinks from. But when you look closer, and have a short walk, you realise that the beach is quite dirty actually with plenty of sharp objects that make it somewhat difficult to enjoy this natural beauty spoiled by human intervention. I strongly advise you to take your swimming shoes with you to make your experience on the island a bit less painful:-) and loads of sun lotion!!! Overall score: 3 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sabang Beach is a picturesque tropical paradise nestled amidst lush jungle surroundings, featuring palm trees and stunning mountain views. It serves as the gateway to the renowned Puerto Princesa Subterranean River, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature. The beach extends along the coast, offering a tranquil and idyllic stretch perfect for relaxation and outdoor activities.
Great beach, completely unspoiled. There are few tourists and you can enjoy your personal time. But it takes 1.5 hours by car from the airport and is not easy to get there.

This is very beautiful sandy beach. Very easy swim there calm and silent. the beach is far away from Puerto Prinsesa almost one and half hour. by car You can spend your time there, visit underground river and do zipline
Merve O — Google review
Wow wow wow Sabang beach 🏝️ We have just returned to the UK following our 6 night stay. We visited the beach everyday and were very often the only people there less the locals walking to and from their boats. The beach was clean, the water clear and so warm, like stepping into a warm bath! There are so many fish and shallow too, my recommendation is to bring a snorkel 🤿 or snorkel mask with you so you don’t miss out. At the far right of the beach (furthest away from the harbour) you will find the corals and rock pools which are a fish haven. We were. So lucky to see so many varieties of fish and literally ankle deep, so perfect for little people to enjoy too. Swimming felt safe as it was calm, but the resorts do put flags out so do check them out for warnings. Do bring: * bug spray as there’s reports of sand fleas although we never experienced any bites 🦟 * sunscreen 🧴 * snorkelling equipment 🤿 * towels if you aren’t staying at a resort locally * bottled drinking water 🚰 * water shoes if exploring the rocks as they are sharp, we did ok wearing flip flops 🩴

Very nice clear water. Not cold just right. Resort hotel near beach. Has public access to beach no charge. Beautiful drive to beach from Puerto Princesa. Wiff works there too

Beautiful beach with soft sand. Not too busy here the few times I went. Places to get food and drink are located here. There is a Zipline nearby and also the port where you can visit the understand river.

Beautiful beach, but you can’t really swim there due to the choppy waves, unless you’re a strong swimmer!
Paul H — Google review
The good; Good waves for body boarding or even surfing Good and gentle slope Find sand. Not crowded. Get to see local life No boats blocking the beach Spacious, CLEAN Great views of mountains to the west and south Watch out for; 1. Rip currents 2. Niknik or sand mites (got a lot of bites at the end of October).
Lewis Y — Google review
Sabang Beach, compared to other beaches in the Philippines, is relatively average. It lacks a reef, snorkeling, or diving opportunities in the area. The restaurants tend to be overpriced, and the food is passable at best. There are only two non-backpacker resorts available, both costing over 100 USD per night. Unless you're looking for a quiet retreat on a somewhat ordinary beach or staying overnight in transit, there isn't much reason to linger here. Most visitors may find themselves getting bored after spending more than a night. It might be better to head straight to El Nido for a more vibrant and diverse experience.

The Palawan Museum, located in the heart of Puerto Princesa, offers a captivating exploration of the province's rich cultural heritage. Housed in the historic Old City Hall at Mendoza Park, this two-story museum showcases a diverse collection of artifacts and exhibits. Visitors can marvel at replicas of significant national cultural treasures such as the Tabon Man's skull cap and Manunggul Jar, alongside ethnological artifacts from indigenous groups like the Tagbanua and Batak.
A must visit when you’re in Puerto Princessa. Sadly, it’s not offered in any of the city tours. You can still visit privately. You can go here via public transpo (trike or multi-cab). Transpo via multi cab is cheaper. The entrance fee to the museum is P50. There are no guides but the information posted for each exhibit is sufficient . There are two floors for this museum. I particularly enjoyed the exhibit about the version of Baybayin that originated in Palaw’ an. I also bought a T-shirt with Baybayin print that can only be found in the museum.

Spent a captivating morning at the Palawan Museum, diving deep into the rich tapestry of Palawan's history, nature, and vibrant communities. The exhibits seamlessly wove together the narrative of this unique paradise, offering insights into the diverse cultures and the incredible biodiversity that defines Palawan. From ancient artifacts to modern-day conservation efforts, the museum provided a holistic understanding of the island's evolution. The interactive displays and well-curated exhibits made the learning experience engaging and accessible, appealing to both history buffs and nature enthusiasts. The Palawan Museum not only serves as a treasure trove of information but also as a celebration of the island's heritage. If you find yourself in Palawan, a visit here is more than just a museum tour; it's a journey through time and nature that leaves you with a profound appreciation for this enchanting corner of the Philippines.

Airport
Puerto Princesa International Airport is the gateway to the natural wonders of Puerto Princesa, Palawan. This airport serves as a starting point for exploring attractions such as the underground river, Sabang Falls, Sabang Beach, and more. It has been recognized for its cleanliness and organization. While some travelers find taxi fares from the airport to be a bit pricey, others suggest opting for a tricycle as a more affordable alternative.
Puerto Princesa International Airport is one of the most convenient and welcoming gateways to Palawan. The terminal is modern, clean, and well-maintained, with a relaxed atmosphere that reflects the island’s charm. The check-in and security processes are usually smooth and efficient, and staff members are generally friendly and accommodating. The airport is not too large, which makes it easy to navigate—even first-time travelers won’t have trouble finding their way around. Facilities are sufficient, with comfortable seating areas, restrooms that are kept tidy, and a few shops and food stalls offering snacks, coffee, and local souvenirs. The air conditioning inside provides a refreshing break from the tropical heat outside. Its location is also a big advantage—just a short drive from the city proper, making transfers to hotels, restaurants, and attractions very convenient.
Ivan S — Google review
Puerto Princesa Airport is small but clean and well-organized. The terminal feels modern and bright, with large windows and a relaxed atmosphere that matches the vibe of Palawan. Check-in and security are generally smooth, though the waiting area can get crowded during peak hours. Food and shopping options are limited, so it’s better to eat before arriving. Transportation is easy—tricycles and vans are right outside, and the city center is just 15–20 minutes away. Overall, it’s a simple, stress-free airport that makes for a pleasant start or end to any trip in Palawan.

PPS International Airport, quite small but decent and has great ambiance. With a large number of tourists coming in and out daily, I hope they could expand and upgrade this place for everyone's comfort ☺️✈️
Reya M — Google review
The international airport of Puerto Princessa is spacious. There are not many international flights coming and going from it, though. Most of the flights are still domestic. There are several shops outside and inside the airport to buy food, drinks, and souvenirs. There are charging stations, several seats, and toilets for passengers to use. The temperature in both the arrival and departure areas was cool despite the heat during summer. We were able to claim our checked in luggage right away. The only thing I would say they need to improve is the number of toilets for women, which are always crowded, and the availability of toilet paper, which is not replaced right away. There is no Grab in Puerto Princessa, but there are taxi waiting outside. The LGU does not regulate fare, so you just need to negotiate with the driver. Usually, one way from the airport to the city proper, which is about 10 minutes away, was about P350. At the Departure area, it's hard to find push Carts.

Cowrie Island is a popular stop on the Honda Bay island-hopping tour. It offers fine white sand, clear blue waters, and opportunities for beach activities and relaxation. Visitors can sip fresh coconut juice, take envy-worthy beach photos, swim, snorkel, and enjoy amenities such as a restaurant, bar, henna tattoo services, and massage options. However, guests should be cautious of jellyfish in the area.
During our cruise boat excursion, we had the chance to visit Cowrie Island, a tropical paradise near Puerto Princesa, Palawan. Known for its white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and laid-back atmosphere, the island provided the perfect escape for relaxation and exploration. As we arrived, we were greeted by swaying palm trees and inviting beachfront cabanas. The island’s small size made it easy to explore, and we found plenty of shaded areas to unwind while enjoying the cool ocean breeze. The shoreline was stunning, with gentle waves lapping against the sand, making it ideal for wading and soaking up the sun. While we chose to relax on the beach, other visitors from our group went snorkeling and reported that the coral viewing was excellent. They described colorful reefs teeming with marine life, making it a great spot for those interested in underwater exploration. For non-snorkelers like us, the island still offered plenty to enjoy, including beachside dining with fresh seafood and refreshing coconut drinks. The island had a relaxed, uncrowded feel, making it a perfect getaway from the busy mainland. Whether you want to snorkel, swim, or simply unwind on a beautiful beach, Cowrie Island is a fantastic destination. I highly recommend visiting for a peaceful and scenic retreat. Even without snorkeling, the stunning views, warm waters, and tranquil vibe made this a memorable stop on our cruise excursion.
Sigmon W — Google review
Cowrie Island is a beautiful and well-maintained destination. The island is clean, and the food provided was excellent, making the experience even more enjoyable. The waters are crystal clear, perfect for swimming and relaxing. However, one thing that should be improved is visitor awareness of marine life. There are plenty of starfishes around the island, but unfortunately, we saw guests lifting and throwing them, which was really sad. It would be great to have signage reminding visitors not to touch or disturb marine animals to help protect them and preserve the island's ecosystem. Overall, our stay was wonderful, and with a little more focus on conservation efforts, it could be even better for both guests and marine life.
Ma. A — Google review
Cowrie Island is usually the final and most relaxing stop on the Honda Bay island-hopping tour — and for good reason. Among the islands in the area, it’s the most developed, with decent facilities like cottages, restrooms, dining areas, and massage huts, making it ideal for resting and enjoying a lazy afternoon by the beach. The shoreline is wide and clean, with plenty of space to swim, lounge, or just hang out under a nipa hut. There are food and drink options on-site, and you can buy snacks, grilled meals, or drinks (some tour packages already include lunch here). There are also areas for volleyball and even some water activities depending on the season. While it’s great for groups and families, it’s not perfect: • The water is calm but not very clear, especially if there are a lot of boats and swimmers. • It can get crowded, especially during peak tourist hours or weekends. • Marine life here is minimal, so don’t expect good snorkeling — it’s more for relaxing than exploring underwater. Still, the overall vibe is laid-back, and the convenience of having restrooms, food, and shade makes Cowrie Island a comfortable stop for travelers looking to unwind. Pros: • Best facilities among Honda Bay islands • Spacious, clean beach area • Food, drinks, and shaded huts available • Great for families and groups Cons: • Not ideal for snorkeling • Can be crowded during peak hours • Water is not as clear compared to less-developed islands Overall: Cowrie Island is a solid, relaxing stop on the Honda Bay tour. It may not offer the most pristine waters, but its comfort and convenience make it a good place to end your island-hopping day on a chill note.

The island is really beautiful. Snorkeling is okay, although there are fewer fish and corals compared to other Honda Bay islands. The sandbar is wide, which is a great feature. A few important things to note: the rinse water on the island is also saltwater, which is understandable given the location. Some cottages are free to use, while others are not. Fresh buko (coconut) is available for only ₱60, which is quite affordable.
John V — Google review
I lived in Palawan for six years, yet I had never visited a place quite like this. Last March 2025, my co-workers and I traveled from Iloilo to Palawan and finally decided to explore the islands. As we sailed closer, we could already see the island from afar—glistening and inviting, surrounded by fine, white sand that shimmered in the sunlight. The sea was crystal-clear and incredibly clean, revealing the pristine white seabed beneath. As we stepped off the boat, the soft sand felt like powdered flour under our feet. Roaming around the island, we saw people enjoying the full range of amenities it had to offer. For those seeking rest, there were peaceful spots under the trees along the shore, perfect for lying back beneath the tropical leaves. The gentle sea breeze, the chirping of hummingbirds, and the stunning view of the sea and mountains—seemingly touching the sky—created a magical moment where time seemed to slow down. Cowrie Island in Palawan is truly an unforgettable paradise. ❤️❤️❤️

Kalui Seafood Restaurant in Puerto Princesa is a long-time favorite among locals and tourists alike. The restaurant offers a unique dining experience where guests are asked to leave their shoes at the door and dine on floor cushions. The menu features delicious seafood and vegetable dishes, with no meat options available. Set meals highlight the freshest catches of the day, while the fresh fruit salad served in a coconut shell is highly recommended.
We booked our last dinner here before leaving Palawan, the service workers are great and lovely. I requested a birthday complimentary and offered a fruit bowl with a hearty birthday song. The food we had was amazing. I love seafood in general and the Kare-Kare seafood? So good!

From the moment a customer walks in, the concept washing of one’s hands is a great indication that the restaurant takes care a in clean atmosphere. We slipped off our shoes and were guided to a table kept cool with over hanging fans. Like many seafood restaurants, it’s best to ask ahead what items are available on the menu. Fish, after all, is also as seasonal as fresh-picked fruit. Our service was of great quality from start to finish. The setting is charming, the art is an added bonus and there’s even photo op areas throughout.

We ordered sinigang, sizzling squid, and kinilaw, and everything was delicious. The kinilaw was the star of the meal, super fresh and bursting with flavor. Highly recommended if you want great food and an authentic atmosphere in Puerto Princesa.

Celebrated a special day here at Kalui, and I must say, I’d rate it 100/10! The food was amazing—especially all the seafood we tried. We had the Kalui Special for two and left completely full. The fruits were fresh, the ambiance very Filipino, and the staff were all kind and friendly they even reco a more cheaper option that we can enjoy all food opt. They even gave us a free mixed fruit platter to celebrate. The comfort room was so aesthetic (see attached photos). Very sulit for the price—we paid just ₱1,400+ in total, and it was truly worth it! 😊

It's amazing to see those fireflies during our visit , but definitely I won't comeback because too expensive it's not worth paying 1k for 45 minutes tour. 1k for an entrance fee would be applicable for foreigner since for them 1k is a bit cheap. Looks like you are seeing a Christmas tree with Christmas light. Appreciate the staff tho. It's not value for money.

A good experience of you havent see fireflies before..it is of a smaller size but December is the best season as you can see more. Can see some stars too but unfortunately the sky wasn't so dark during my trip.

It was a peaceful and magical experience. The night was dark, and the only sound was the boat gliding along the quiet river. Our tour guide gave an expert discussion about the fireflies, sharing interesting facts about their life cycle and habitat. A truly serene and educational tour. The tour took almost an hour.

I understand this magical place has recently reopened after a refurb. We were treated like totally as first international visitors 😊 The facility is extremely well organised. Our guide Anthony was clear and informative and we enjoyed Capt Maynard’s careful boatmanship in an ecologically sensitive area. Worth letting them know in advance if you’re vegetarian. We felt bad that they prepared meat for us that we didn’t eat… however by the time we got back from the boat trip they made a new vegetable dinner for us. Very thoughtful. The fireflies themselves are of course the star of the show. It was nice to have seen the river earlier on the sunset cruise to have context. Just magical to be in such a beautiful spot to commune with the fireflies with no other boats distracting us.

Nestled just 2.5 kilometers from the Provincial Capitol, the Palawan Special Battalion WW-II Memorial Museum is a poignant tribute to the valor of Filipino guerrilla fighters during World War II. Opened in 2011 by Dr. Higinio Mendoza, Sr.'s son, this private museum showcases an impressive collection of artifacts including vintage vehicles, weapons, and paper money that tell the story of those who bravely defended their homeland against Japanese forces.
Interesting experience. They have so much stuff preserved even the car. It was fun but you can seat inside. Entrance in 50 pesos and there many books about WWII and philiphino culture

For all WWII History geeks, aficionados, or anyone interested to learn more -- this place is definitely worth a visit and was a lot more extensive than I thought. A lot of effort has been made to collect and curate the items being displayed. The entrance fee was 50 pesos and it was really fascinating to learn about the Palawan Fighting 1000 Guerilla and the USAFE. Hope that the items and books can be preserved well for generations to come.

The guide Ken Cacho, friendly and knowledgeable, as well as the owners, heirs of the Hero Higinio Mendoza. What an honor to tour and pay tribute to the Heroes of Palawan and the Philippines.

My knowledge of the history of Philippines during WW2, was very sparse. However, I learnt a lot at the museum and found it really insightful. The entrance fee was also only 50 pesos!

The museum is a collection of some of the war armaments since the pre colonial era in the Philippines. It is educational and nostalgic. You may have to read the small prints to be well informed of the relics.

The Palawan Special Battalion WW-II Memorial Museum in Rizal Avenue, Puerto Princesa is a hidden gem for history lovers, now under new management that continues to preserve and showcase artifacts from World War II and beyond. The museum features an impressive collection of military equipment, uniforms, historical photos, and memorabilia, telling the stories of Filipino and American heroism during the war. One unique highlight is the vintage Buick car displayed at the memorial behind the museum, adding to the historical atmosphere. The café at the entrance also provides a nice touch, making it a convenient stop for visitors. What I Loved: ✔️ Extensive collection of wartime artifacts – including weapons, uniforms, and rare photographs showcasing Palawan’s role in WWII. ✔️ Rich historical significance – with displays featuring Manuel Quezon, Douglas MacArthur, and the sacrifices of Filipino and American soldiers. ✔️ Preserving and curating these historical pieces despite limited resources. Room for Improvement: 🔹 Better air-conditioning – would help preserve historical items and photographs, preventing further degradation. 🔹 Photo restoration – some images are fading, and government support could help in their preservation. 🔹 More interactive features – a documentary video about Palawan’s WWII history, Plaza Cuartel, and the massacre would enhance the visitor experience. 🔹 Clearer curation – while the exhibits are well-organized, some items, like Imelda Marcos’ shoe, feel out of place without additional context. Final Thoughts Despite a few areas for improvement, the Veterans Memorial Museum is an invaluable place to learn about the history and heroism of Palawan. Walking through the exhibits, I could feel both the sadness of lives lost and the gratitude for their sacrifices. I highly recommend this museum to both locals and tourists—it deserves more visitors and support to keep these important stories alive.

What a wonderful stadium! The place is spacious, clean, and well-maintained, and it can comfortably accommodate around 1,500–2,000 people. Perfect for events, gatherings, or big occasions. All the staff are very friendly, approachable, and always smiling, which really adds to the overall positive experience. You can feel that they genuinely enjoy helping guests and making sure everything runs smoothly. Overall, it’s such a happy and welcoming venue — highly recommended for anyone planning an event here. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Hundred Caves, located in Puerto Princesa, was discovered in the 1990s and is managed by the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development. The cave system features narrow maze-like passages with interconnected and multi-storied layouts that provide an exciting adventure for cave explorers. Visitors can expect to learn about the rock and mineral formations dating back millennia while being introduced to the thriving wildlife within the caves.
One of the massive highlights of our trip! This place is not well advertised and we just dropped in as we drove past. What a great decision. You’ll get muddy and wet but you crawl through tight spaces and up and down slippery ladders. It’s spectacular with little regard for what many travellers would consider “western” health and safety. But that’s half the fun of it. Get down and dirty with the locals and love it while you’re at it. Can’t recommend it enough. We’d do it again. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

This is a hidden gem. You can go there on your own. We hired a tricycle to take us there and wait for us for about $5. We were the only ones there, and we each had our guide. There is an expert and a non-expert route. We chose the non-expert route. The guides shared the history of the caves and there were some tight spots but doable. It was very hot in there so bring water. It definitely had the descent movie vibe but absolutely amazing.
Michelle M — Google review
Went in with no expectations and was so delighted with the experience. Our guide was very informative and the caves had lots of beautiful things to see - we did the ‘easy’ tour which was 45mins but not overly easy there was some scrambling and a few interesting ladders to climb and planks to walk across - made it even more interesting… better than the Janolan caves in Australia - don’t miss it!

I have been too many caves all over the united states. this is the most rugged cave i've ever been in. headlamps only and an hour and a half walk through the caves. up stairs through tight passages. If you weigh over 160 lbs you may have trouble squeezing through a couple of the tight spots, Ask your guide if you can make it, he's the best one to judge. In other reviews people took the easy tour. make the extra effort and go for the extreme tour. i'm 69 years old and i made it just fine

One of the best experiences we’ve had exploring a cave first hand! Rare opportunity to step into scary spaces and really get your feet and hands wet, all in a good way. I love that there is a partner tour guide watching the last persons back and making sure everyone is safe. Really the only hard part is going UPHILL. The group of people who run this are truly nice and know their stuff. They provide Croc shoes that are waterproof and gloves for touching walls and rails. They have helmets with flashlights. Disclaimer: 1) Come Hydrated 2) Bring extra clothes, it gets muddy. 2) Bring lots of water 3) Bring a lot of snacks and food since the area is remote with not alot of chain restaurants nor food stops.
KarebeA12s J — Google review
Only wows. The underground river had nothing on this tour. Prepare for an adventure! Put on a hard hat with light, protective gloves (all provided), and enter the caves. Climb up to the mountain, enter the caves, step through narrow spaces, all in the pitch black but for the light on your head (... okay, and the guides'). Stel on slippery rocks, climb down and up ladders, go over small walkways over the water, and, depending the water level, wade a bit!(We got water up our ankles as it rained a lot last week, but if there was just a torrent of rain, that could rise!) The guides were very helpful. My 7 year old didn't want to get wet so was carried over the water, but at no moment did she get tired as there was a constant stream of views, climbs, twists and turns to keep her fully engaged. My 8 year old happily trundled in the water as a true cave explorer. Cannot recommend more unless you're afraid of small spaces, a bit of dirt, water, or have issues moving and climbing around. If you have those, do the river tour.

Pambato Reef is a renowned snorkeling spot in Honda Bay, featuring a floating platform where visitors can dive into the ocean. Before taking the plunge, tourists receive a briefing on marine ecology and conservation. It's part of the popular Honda Bay tour that includes visits to Luli Island, Starfish Island, and Cowrie Island. The area is also ideal for diving with various dive sites nearby. While cruising around the bay, keep an eye out for dolphins, turtles, and rays.
A great spot for swimming and feeding fish in their natural habitat. Quite crowded but there's plenty of space and time for you to enjoy the fish there. Remember to bring some bread with you for the fish. Overall score: 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Adam K — Google review
Pambato Reef is the coolest place in Honda Bay to go swimming and snorkeling on top of a floating platform over a coral reef. Your tour van will make a pit stop at a store where can rent snorkeling masks (php150) and swim shoes (php150), floats and buy sunblock and snacks before heading to the pier. You need to return them after using them.
Victoria M — Google review
Pambato Reef, has long been a beloved snorkeling and diving destination in Honda Bay, even prior to the pandemic. I've been here twice before when there was a bigger floating platform adorned with a remarkable giant turtle on its roof, and when there were floating boardwalks that can accommodate hundred of guests simultaneously. However, on our recent visit, I noticed that only one platform remained, and we were fortunate enough to arrive before any other guests, even at late hours like past 7 AM. Nevertheless, it still stands as the premier snorkeling site in Honda Bay. The variety of fish in the reef appears to have multiplied over time. Although the water was not crystal clear, the fish were still easily visible and identifiable. It was a delightful experience to return to this reef and witness its continued role as a fish sanctuary. There is an assortment of corals, albeit in limited quantities, as well as various species of fish. I only explored from the surface of the water and was fortunate to see a great deal. However, I couldn't help but imagine the wonders that awaited had I been braver, more skillful and ventured deeper into the underwater precipice, where well-preserved coral reefs, clams, and larger fish may reside. Pambato Reef charges a modest entrance fee of 50 pesos, and I highly recommend including it as a mandatory stop during your island-hopping tour in Honda Bay.

A nice place to snorkel. Water is not as clean as I thought. Nothing much to do if you are not planning to snorkel.
Dami S — Google review
The water here is murky and the corals were all damaged from the previous typhoon. I hope the government can rehabilitate this area. What a let down for snorkeling. There’s a lot of fishes though. This is the best snorkeling are among the 3 islands. The hottest as well since there’s only few shade and intended for small group of people, it can get crowded if there’s flock of people.
Abby 2 — Google review
You can only see some parrot fish and other types of fish. Dont have nice corals
Quah T — Google review
Pambato Reef is a great snorkeling destination in Puerto Princesa Bay, especially for first-timers or those who want a safe and guided marine experience without venturing too far from the city. It’s a popular stop included in Honda Bay island-hopping tours, and for good reason. The reef is marked by a large floating platform shaped like a giant turtle, which serves as both a staging area and a resting spot for visitors. From here, you can jump straight into the clear waters where you’ll find colorful corals, clams, and a variety of tropical fish. The area is roped off for safety, and life vests are usually required, making it very family-friendly and beginner-friendly. What makes Pambato Reef stand out is its accessibility. Unlike more advanced dive spots, you don’t need to be an experienced snorkeler to enjoy it. The water is generally calm and shallow, and the guides are attentive and helpful. However, it’s not without some drawbacks: • Some sections of the reef show signs of damage, likely due to heavy tourist activity over the years. • The area can get crowded depending on the season and tour groups. • You might not see as much marine life compared to deeper or more remote reefs in Palawan. Still, it’s a fun and educational stop, especially for those who want to get a close-up look at Palawan’s underwater life without doing a full dive or long boat ride. Pros: • Easy access and beginner-friendly snorkeling • Clear, calm waters with colorful marine life • Unique floating turtle-shaped platform • Guides ensure safety and assist first-timers Cons: • Some coral damage due to tourism • Can be crowded during peak season • Marine life diversity is moderate compared to remote dive sites Overall: Pambato Reef is a solid snorkeling spot if you’re in Puerto Princesa and want a quick, safe, and enjoyable glimpse into Palawan’s underwater world. It’s ideal for families, kids, and anyone new to snorkeling — just don’t expect a world-class dive experience.

A very great place to visit. Water is pristine. Price is very reasonable. People are kind.

This was a really beautiful hike, but certainly not an easy one. I went late morning and there was nobody there to guide so after asking someone where the starting point was (across some grass and then through the shallow river) I went in search of the waterfalls solo. It’s not an obvious route, with no signage or bridges as seen in older reviews. You need to wade through the river several times, clamber across large rocks and guess at points which way to go. It is very wild and jungle-esk and it was nice to be rewarded with a swim at the end. There was torrential rain on the way back which made the rocks slippery and proved even more difficult to see any trodden-in paths. I’m glad I did this but I wouldn’t recommend doing this solo or without a guide. Good hiking shoes that can get wet are recommended!
Ruth H — Google review
It’s a beautiful and extended area, easily walkable with paths and stairs everywhere, they took care of it. There were also some very small monkeys high in the trees which was a nice sight. I’d gladly pay ₱50 for the entrance, but I’m tired of this “no guide no entry” BS all over Palawan. Other reviews talk about ₱600 which is nuts. Thankfully I came here after closing time and nobody was there to ask me for money for “guide” me around. Nobody needs a guide just to follow a path.
Bingsu — Google review
They monetized the place. 50 pesos for entrance fee is okay, but 600 pesos for a tour guide is just too much. And besides, there are so many beautiful waterfalls in Palawan that you can visit for a way cheaper price. I wish I could give a 0 for this.

Shopping mall
Robinsons Palawan is conveniently located along the Puerto Princesa National Highway, just a 15-minute drive from the airport. It offers a wide range of shopping options, including Robinsons Mall Palawan and other stores, restaurants, and vendors. The mall provides good security measures and spacious walkways for a comfortable shopping experience. Visitors can also enjoy various activities such as church services, exhibitions, and programs in addition to dining at the wide food court.
Classic Mall although as for the known sizes of other Malls this one is not too big but has basically everything you need. Ease of access by car or public transport is an additional plus. For foreigners, it is worth knowing that here is the only immigration office on the island where you can arrange for your visa extension. Of course, a trip to the cinema or shopping in the supermarket or a quick meal in the food section or even a massage, etc. It is not a tourist attraction but a good place to spend some time with friends if you have nothing to do.

This is the most substandard Robinson’s place building I’ve ever been in the PH. It looks like a government/public market but with AC. They have a mini kid’s playground at second floor. This place is packed with so many people during lunch onwards and especially if there’s an event. Only few restaurants. I love that they have a digital nomad space at bos coffee

This is one of the smaller and less managed Robinsons mall which I have visited. It was smaller than the SM mall in Puerto princesa and the retail store and restaurants were very limited. But I do like their big supermarket with many choices. Recommended!

Nice mall with Robinson's being the main store, but there's many other stores, restaurants, pharmacy, small vendors, etc... Anything you need or want, you'll probably find it here. Walkways were very wide and stores weren't crowded. Plenty of places to choose for eating or just sitting down for a quick snack.

It's a great mall. The atmosphere feels nice and interior is nice well-fitted to Palawan's theme. The mall opens up at 10 am and closes during 9 pm depending on the date (weekends or weekdays) They have different stores inside selling different products like a typical mall, They have a huge parking lot outside which has no parking fee. They have a department stores, shops that sell a variety of products such as clothes, gear, school supplies, and food. The inside is cleaned always and kept in maintenance that way. The mall is only 2 KM or 1.24 Miles away from the national airport of Palawan. Although after a while, it might get really boring quick and there's nothing much to do. Overall the place is worth visiting, 8/10

Nestled in the captivating beauty of Honda Bay, Dos Palmas Island Resort & Spa is a luxurious tropical getaway located on a private 20-hectare island in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. The resort offers modern beachfront villas with stunning ocean views and provides free breakfast for guests.
I had the happiest time of my life here at this resort. The staff at the front desk were extremely nice and helpful. I became friends with them at the end! Reasonable price for the food! I love their Mango mint slushie so much. The room we stayed at was a bit far and old, but I'm okay with it because I spent most of my time outside! You can do lots of activities there including snorkeling, scuba diving, and kayaking. The beach and the water is so clean that you can see reef sharks all the time and sometimes you'd see stingray. It's quite windy during winter but not everyday. You need to expect the island hopping trip would be canceled anytime due to strong wind. Btw if you wanna do snorkeling, do it in the early morning at 8!! The water is most calm and clear until 10 am!!

We took a day tour since Dos Palmas is currently not accepting bookings for overnight stay. Boat trip from the wharf to the island took almost an hour. The place still looked great. The sea was calm, the island was quiet. Such a tranquil and relaxing experience. The resort will soon undergo renovations as it has been severely damaged by a recent typhoon.

It’s affordable yet offers the unique experience of having an entire island to yourself. I love how sustainable the resort is, even sourcing their vegetables right on the island. Guests can freely roam around on bikes, which is a fun and relaxing way to explore. The food was tasty and fairly priced, and the dive shop added to the adventure with a professional and friendly team. I really hope they reopen soon — this is definitely a place I’d love to come back to.

We did a day tour on a Monday. We basically had the resort to ourselves. The staff was very nice and accomodating. The food was delicious. However, be aware that "breakfast sausage" basically means hot dogs. Snorkeling was lovely. The facilities definitely need maintenance. On the whole, it was a tranquil and enjoyable experience. I don't know what the rooms are like because we were not overnight guests.
Emilyanne M — Google review
Looks really nice and secluded. The 1hr wharf ride can be a little challenging when you approach near the island so you have to prepare for a motion sickness. We went on a day tour and at lunch they gave us too many food only for 2 people - I think it would be better to just let individuals hey their own food rather than plate them on each table bcoz there are just too many food waste if that table only has 1 or 2 people. It's a completely nice resort - perfect for relaxing. I just really hope that the security of the area is tighter now after that abduction incident that happened years ago.
Whitney J — Google review
Location wise it's amazing. Incredibly scenic, relaxing and peaceful. However the hotel and service doesn't really live up to its surrounding. The rooms were ok – big, but tired and in need of freshening up. The pool was amazing but no pool bar. However our biggest frustration was the food/drink offering. With only one restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner that serves one menu and no specials (apart from some craftily repackaged buffet offerings) things get very boring. And the quality/value of those dishes doesn't help. Despite the island being covered in coconut palm trees, the bar doesn't sell fresh ones – ridiculous. All in all this is a place that's missing a huge opportunity. It could be amazing given thought and investment.

This is one of my favourite places I have been to. The staff were friendly and attentive. The facilities were at good standards, clean and Environmental friendly. The island is protected by the marine and feels very secure. The waste was refined for their gardens. The scenery was breathtaking, especially the night sky. The food was tasteful and a lot of choices for a long stay. Massage facility was relaxing. Best value for my money. What makes an experience rememberable is the people and at this resort they were truely friendly and humble.

The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River is a must-see destination, known for its guided boat tours through an underground system of caves with unique limestone formations. This site has been recognized as one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The river spans over 24 kilometers, making it one of the world's longest navigable underground rivers. Visitors can enjoy comfortable accommodations and various tour packages offered in the area.
A breathtaking natural wonder! It is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. The boat ride through the cave is peaceful and awe-inspiring, with massive limestone formations and clear explanations from the guide. The scenery around the site is just as beautiful—lush forest, wildlife, and calm blue waters. It's well-organized, but expect some waiting due to its popularity. Definitely worth the visit!
Roxy A — Google review
It was an interesting cave experience. Nowhere near amazing or spectacular, but nevertheless it was interesting. It is a bit overpriced for what it is but well organized. The downside is that you boat that will take you there will probably run with two lawnmower engines that are noisy as hell. When you get there the actual cave tour is on a paddle boat. Don't go there if you don't like bats or if you're afraid of getting some bat drops on your clothes.
Space S — Google review
A very very cool and unique experience to visit on of the new 7 natural wonders of the world. A well run experience too you take a boat from Sabang harbour then walk through a bit of jungle to the lagoon area which is where you pick up the small boat to the river. You’re given an audio guide and the tour lasts approximately 40 minutes. Then you go back to the beach to meet your boat again.
Olly S — Google review
We preferred to stay in Sabang instead of Puerto Princesa to visit the underground cave. Because it takes a short time to get to the cave from here. Therefore, after spending about 1 hour in the cave, you have plenty of time to spend at Sabang Beach. It takes about 2 hours to get there from PP. A must-see place. It is now one of the new 7 natural wonders. You enter the cave in turns by boat. Therefore, there is no crowd, no boats and no noise. We are greeted by our hosts, the bats. Silence is very important in the caves. This makes the journey very enjoyable. The audio guide is very helpful. It explains many magnificent rock formations that can be seen. Well-preserved natural beauty.

It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site and even made it onto the list of the New7Wonders of Nature. Imagine a stunning area with dramatic limestone cliffs, and tucked away within it is this amazing underground river that flows right out to sea. The cool part? You can actually take a boat ride into a section of the cave! It's not just a quick peek; you get to go quite a ways in and see all sorts of wild rock formations – think incredible stalactites and stalagmites hanging down. Beyond the river itself, the whole park is a treasure trove of nature, with all sorts of plants and animals. It's a really unique ecosystem that goes from the mountains all the way down to the coast. And yup, you can easily pull it up on Google Maps or even Google Earth to get a visual and see where it is in the world. It's a great way to start dreaming about a potential trip!
BRETT — Google review
The Underground River is truly an incredible experience! It’s a unique place that is very well taken care of. We stayed in Sabang at Dabdab Hotel, where our host booked this tour for us. It cost 2000 pesos, which I find quite cheap considering what an extraordinary experience it was. From the port in Sabang, we took a boat to the island where the entrance to the cave with the river is located. The ride took about 20 minutes, and we were given life jackets already on the boat. On the island, we received helmets and then walked for about 5 minutes along a path to the small boats that take you inside the cave. The path leads through the forest, but it is well maintained, flat, and easy. There are also restrooms on the island. When boarding and leaving both boats, you have to step into the water, so I recommend wearing shorts and flip-flops or water shoes. Before entering the cave, you can see monkeys. Inside the cave, everyone gets headphones with an audio guide. The boat ride on the river inside the cave takes about 40 minutes. It is dark and quiet, with only the guide’s flashlight providing light as he paddles. There are lots of bats, and occasionally a few drops of water drip from the ceiling. Altogether, the trip from Sabang and back took around 2.5 hours, including waiting for boats and for the other participants. Our visit was in August, and while reviews mention that in peak season the wait can be much longer, we barely had to wait at all.
Vendy M — Google review
I highly recommend to book a DTI registered Travel Agency, from van transfers (from point a to b), paying fees up to guiding to your assigned boat to arrive at the subterranean river. There are monkeys at the site, and according to the guide they tend to snatch stuff they might find interesting, so beware I guess. If you cannot handle the dark, I do not recommend this activity.

If you have your own snorkel and aqua shoes ( we didn't need them) , bring them with you. The tour operators don't tell you in advance that you might need them. They point you to rental shops prior to boarding the tour boat.

Honda Bay is one of the most popular destinations in Puerto Princesa — a great option for travelers who want a convenient island-hopping experience without venturing too far from the city. Just about 30–40 minutes from the city proper, it’s perfect for a day trip packed with snorkeling, swimming, and beach relaxation. A typical Honda Bay tour includes stops at Pambato Reef, Luli Island, and Cowrie Island — each offering something different. • Pambato Reef is a designated snorkeling area with a floating turtle-shaped platform. It’s a great place for beginners to get a safe, close-up view of tropical fish and coral (though some parts of the reef show wear from tourism). • Luli Island is a sandbar that appears and disappears with the tide, making it a unique and photogenic stop. • Cowrie Island is the most developed, with facilities for eating, lounging, and swimming — a nice place to end the tour and relax. Tour packages are generally affordable and include boat transfers, entrance fees, and sometimes a simple lunch. Guides are friendly and make sure everyone’s safe and enjoying the trip. Some downsides to be aware of: • The area can get crowded, especially during peak tourist season. • Corals and marine life at Pambato Reef are decent but not as vibrant as in more remote parts of Palawan. • Food options on the islands are limited — good enough for a casual lunch but not a highlight. Pros: • Convenient and beginner-friendly island-hopping • Calm beaches, good for swimming and relaxing • Great introduction to snorkeling at Pambato Reef • Perfect for families, groups, and short visits Cons: • Can be crowded during peak hours • Some reef areas need environmental care • Basic facilities and food options Overall: Honda Bay is a great way to enjoy the beauty of Palawan without going too far from the city. It’s not the most pristine experience, but for the time, price, and convenience, it offers a relaxing and fun tropical getaway — especially for first-time visitors.

The Port is currently under renovation and construction. I'll update the photos soon. The location is basically a port, used and within range of the locals boat parking area. And a coordinate parking where you can travel to different islands. You have to pay and do a forum if your going island hopping at their headquarters of the City which is also located in the area. They also provide different gear such as scuba goggles, life vests and more. The water is a little, foggy and unclear. Mostly there are a lot of locals here where they go fishing at the plastic floating platform where the boats are parked. Overall the place is not bad, glad they did a clean up where the place is much more cleaner and safer. 7/10

It’s sad but true the corral is dead here. It’s not what it used to be for snorkeling and diving. Nice beach tour is all you can expect.

It's not a beach. Docking port for boat travel and tours. Cr for public p10 to use.
Chip W — Google review
This serves as the island hopping base for exploring the islands around Honda Bay. Conveniently, you can park your car right at the pier. For a small fee, you can access restroom and shower facilities. However, snorkeling in Honda Bay isn't worth the time, as the reef exhibits severe damage and coral bleaching. Each island incurs separate charges, and some are unattractive, resembling construction sites rather than picturesque destinations. Cowrie Island, the most commonly visited, offers a restaurant and opportunities for sunbathing, but swimming can be risky due to jellyfish stings, with warnings posted. It's important to note that the mangroves around Palawan are breeding grounds for deadly box jellyfish. Overall, Honda Bay isn't worth a visit. The entrance and environmental fees may leave you feeling ripped off, especially considering there are better places for swimming and snorkeling elsewhere in Palawan. There's little to remember from this experience.

Sabang X Zipline in Puerto Princesa offers an exhilarating experience of gliding through the rainforest, providing stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The 800-meter zipline allows visitors to soar above the treetops and enjoy picturesque vistas of mountains and sea. Accessible via a scenic walkway, this attraction is a must-try for adventure enthusiasts. Additionally, it is conveniently located near the Underground River, making it a popular inclusion in adventure packages.
Well worth the money. Awesome shallow river crossing, small jungle hike, amazing views. ₽800 is well spent on this epic adventure eco-tourism activity. Would go again.
Jet — Google review
I’ve been looking forward to this 800 meters zipline activity. We paid 600 per person to try it. We were the only group that have arrived here. You will pay with the local guide and then we road a bamboo raft to traverse the river for a few seconds and the guide left us on our own and just instructed us to just look for the red flag and hike. It was hight tide that time so we do not know what trail we need to follow especially the sea water was high. They lack signages to pinpoint where to head and were you will find the flag to start the trek. It’s a good 20-30 min walk . Just like the other observation of the other guests the people working here lack customer service skills and they do not even smile, not sure if they were tired or just wanna go home. They do not have a welcoming vibe unlike the other places we visited. They also took some photos while descending which cost 250 each and I got one since they took good photos and just got 1 for souvenir. The wuality of the picture and color plust the paper use could have been better for its price. I love the adrenaline rush and the zipline will take more tha 1 hr and 30 min. Outstanding view of the ocean and cool breeze. What an unforgetful experience. Even the person who is assisting to check for photos is not friendly. Just showed the pic with no enthusiasm at all ,once you have selected the photo our tour guide took out photo from their main office which is in our way back .After descending I was looking for the path to head back but to my surprise we need to traverse the shore it self for probably 3-5 min. It was already hightied and since I am small the water is almost up my waist from the deepest part due to waves but mostly it is up to my hip. I hope they can make bamboo bridge where people can traverse more safely especially i am securing the phone I have with me that time. I got soaked in saltwater after that and to my surprise their comfort room is paid comfort room. To think I already paid for the zipline. SMH it is too much to pay for the toilet. It should be free for all visitors. I hope they can also do some cleaning of the site and the trek to make it more appealing to the visitors. If you are up for some adventure this one is for you. Do not forget your mosquito repellant and have an extra clothing if you will do this activity.

There is a great zipline on the water. The view is great. You can ride alone or as a couple. It was very enjoyable. The speed is quite good, not too fast. The descent is quite safe. There are breaks towards the end, which slows you down very quickly and effectively. The guys there also help you get out of the harness immediately. To get there, you need to take a long walk on the beach, then follow the path and climb the hill. It is a bit challenging to make a steep climb in the hot and humid weather. There are no signs up to the path, but when you see people going down the zipline, it is not hard to understand which way to go. We arranged to be picked up from the hotel around 10:00 in the morning. They told us it would take 45 minutes in total. We thought we would be back at 11:00, but it was not like that. We waited in line after climbing the hill for quite a long time. It took us about 1 minute to get down. It was short but very fun. The view was magnificent. If you have a time in Sabang, you should try zipline.
Merve O — Google review
Our weather wasn’t great due to rain but the experience is still worth doing. You get a small boat to a very remote beach and then take a small trek about 10-15 to the start point. From there you’re kitted up and sent on your way. The experience felt safe at all times and was well worth it. The stopping procedure is quite brutal so this activity probably isn’t for those with any back problems
Olly S — Google review
It was super fun! I'm lazy though so I am not a fan of the mini hike going to the start of the zipline lol BUT the beach you get to witness and the view! Amazing. The zipline itself is a relax ride. Would try it again.
Amari A — Google review
It's a great zipline above the water. The scenery is great. It felt like it finished too quickly for us .it was probably because we had a little problem with our video. It can be ridden as solo or couples. It's very enjoyable. A senior lady told me later on she hasitated and she wasn't sure if she handled it so she didn't go. I saw another senior lady riding it before us, so I don't see a problem if the person is comfortable with height. Lenght isn't a problem. It's rather enjoyable. The speed is pretty good, no crazy fast. Landing is very safe. There are breaks towards the end, which slows you down very quickly and effectively. The guys there also help immediately to get off the harness. Going there was a little confusing at first. After the raft, we were instructed to turn right and continue. It's a long beach to cross until the trail, which takes you up to the zipline. Until the trail, there are no signposts, but when you see people coming down with the zipline, it's not difficult to figure out which direction to go. Just look around to observe the zipline start and end points. It's impossible to miss it. Waiting may be long depending on the people. We arranged it in a morning around 10 am pick up from the hotel. At the time of booking they ask what time you want. We thought we'd be back by 11 am, but it wasn't the case. We waited in the queue for quite long. We were happy that we didn't have an early transfer arranged to PP. Watch our videos below.

Talaudyong Beach is a picturesque and relatively uncrowded beach in Puerto Princesa, perfect for both adventure-seekers and those seeking relaxation. It's an ideal spot for swimming, exploring, and taking photos. The beach is also popular among surfers due to its big waves. Visitors can enjoy a delicious picnic lunch on the beach after a short boat ride.
Even though it's quite a journey from the city, the trip is worthwhile. It's not overly crowded, and most of the visitors are locals. Very tranquil; you can soak up the sun while enjoying the beach. With your family and friends, you can engage in a variety of activities, such as kayaking and volleyball. Shower and change rooms are also available. There is a grilling area, so you are welcome to bring food and prepare it there. Large parking lot and helpful personnel. Very nice beach, wide and sandy, not rocks and trash. The rental shelters and cabins are very nice, parking is easy and plentiful. Probably one of the best beaches for swimming, area down not seam to have a lot of undertow, but im not positive about that, just my observations. The drive is nice if you go slow and take in the clifside view, be sure to stop in at the café at the top of the road to see the best view on the entire West Philippines Sea. We'll, that's my opinion.

Wow! What an amazing beach! This is a beach frequented by locals, very few tourist here! It is quiet and very few people. I was here on a Saturday and almost had the place to myself. There is a 100p entrance fee, which kind of sucks, but it is well worth it. It takes 45-60 minutes to get here from PPS. The drive is equally beautiful and is an adventure in and of itself. High reccommend this spot. Just dont tell anyone else!! 😉

Chill Mabuhay lounge in Puerto Princesa Airport. There were many guests when I visited. Food are essentially the usual items served in Mabuhay lounges, like arroz caldo, batchoy, some sandwiches, juice, beverages, etc. There were minimal staff checking on the food being served — some items needs to be replenished already. But I guess it is understandable since it was already evening when I arrived. Nevertheless, it was still a nice play to stay while waiting for my (delayed) flight. Lounge is free access to Elite, Premier Elite, Comfort Class, and (Business Class) passengers

I recently visited the Mabuhay Lounge at Puerto Princesa Airport and wanted to share my experience. Upon arrival, the staff was friendly and guided me well. The lounge seating was quite comfortable, with cushioned chairs that made waiting much more pleasant. There were a mix of small round tables and high tables, and some sections had power outlets available useful for charging your phone or using a laptop. The food and drinks available were basic. It felt a bit like the mini-bar in a hotel room: standard coffee, some soft drinks like Sprite and Coke, a few beers, biscuits, and small portions of soup or simple meals. To be honest, we ended up buying food from outside and bringing it into the lounge it was more enjoyable and gave us better variety. One thing that really surprised (and disappointed) me was that there was no Wi-Fi provided. For a place that calls itself a "lounge," this is quite a big miss. You’d expect Wi-Fi to be a basic service. I had to rely on my own mobile hotspot, which only gave me about 1.3 Mbps and had terrible latency—barely usable for anything beyond basic browsing. The washroom was okay nothing special, just clean and functional. Overall, the lounge was fine for resting in a comfortable chair and grabbing a quick drink, but it lacks key features like proper food choices and reliable internet. Definitely room for improvement.

Having gone there so many times they recognize me immediately and the game begins. I'm pretty sure they offer a happy hour where it's possible to meet and greet the women there. I've found there's a lack of choices to choose from there. Due to others on opposite side of town. However it's an adequate, cheaper place to go looking for company. It's a no air-conditioning setup so expect it a little warmer then the others. Maybe it's because I frequent it earlier in the day, the girls apparently are just waking and motivation by them is not shown. Be that what it may, it's still a good time with ability to always find that certain something there that people look for in the fist place

One of the nearby beaches in Puerto, an hour away from the city center that is easily accessible for everyone. It’s a nice place to hang out and relax as you have the option to either pay for parking and also to access the river nearby or just park on the side. There’s also a hut of some sort where you can pay to get an overnight stay, the price may come a bit steep though but may definitely be worth it for others. Hopefully there’s more development to come to this place as I prefer this one more than the other bay beside it.

A rich place to have a nice view of the seaside At the location, the place is mostly sandy with rocky terrain, 36 Kilometers or 22 Miles, an Hour from the city. There is a trail which is the main road to where you can navigate through the other side of the beach by foot or by vehicle The view and the scenery is great and it's great for having a breakfast here. Windy and a foggy distance. The waves are pretty huge and scary and the locals don't recommend going too far into the water. There are some locals that teach surfing and swimming lessons which is great the fact that the waves in this beach are huge. Overall it's a nice place to relax and enjoy the calm beach. 7/10

Nice clean quite beach with beautiful view. No fee to enter. 4 stars because not real tidy or kept. rough road entering beach area. Has tables with roof. Will go back. Take food and drink, didnt see sari sari or resteraunts.

When people think of Palawan they think the beach. Go off the beaten path and you’ll find something beautiful. I had the good fortune of having a local friend who took me to this beautiful spot. Its where the fresh and chilly river meets the warm salty sea. A place forever ingrained in the tapestry of my life. Mahalo and Mabuhay!

The waterfall Binduyan Falls is a beautiful site, and it's a popular tourist attraction. It's a difficult hike, but it's worth it. The hike takes about 45 minutes, but it is a beautiful journey.
Absolutely stunning place to go. The climb to the second fall was quite difficult especially when its wet but definitely worth the long walk.
Matthias H — Google review
I did enjoy the time spent here. It's a relaxing journey to the waterfall. Maybe for most of the people seems too much the tax💰 500 pesos.
ManGDani — Google review
They monetized the waterfalls. They set up a booth at the entrance to charge a 50 peso fee per person and then another 400 pesos for a mandatory guide and that is just to the first waterfall. If you want to go see the falls farther up it is an extra 200. I am sorry but 700 pesos for 2 people to see a couple waterfalls is way too much when there are plenty of other waterfalls around.
Kristoffer T — Google review
The Falls was a 45 minutes trek, for those who have at least 1 meter per pace, from the highway and the highway going to the falls was 72 kilometers north from the city proper of Puerto Princesa. It was good (but Estrella Falls in the southern part of Palawan is better for me in terms of water), it has many falls in the upper portion but only tried the first fall since the way going up is dangerous and scary. No fees since no one manage the area but I heard residents near the area can be hired as a guide travelling to the falls from the highway and assisting you in your stay in the falls for 200pesos.
Maika G — Google review
The hike to the waterfall takes about 45 minutes, but it is a difficult hike. You are going over natural rocky terrain, some smooth paths, a few man made bridges from bamboo, and unmarked paths. Take a guided tour from one of the locals. Take water, a walking stick even just a stick of bamboo, two pairs of good walking shoes or back strap sandals you can get wet (one to wear going there and one back cause you will walk through water to get to the falls), a small towel, and maybe some spare clothes. I had an amazing guide who helped me over some of the rough spots. The waterfall is lovely and the water is so pure. If you are sure footed, maybe the guide will help you climb up the side of the fall so you can dive off! Its worth taking a guide, 400 Pesos is like $8 USD.
Diane — Google review
Good plase to visit, but 400 pesos for the guide its too much.

Kuyba Almoneca, also known as Alicia's Secret Garden, is a serene meditation garden featuring a grotto with a sacred figure of Jesus. Visitors can experience healing, relaxation, and spiritual enlightenment in this tranquil setting. The garden also boasts an organic farm, a small zoo, and a fish bath for added enjoyment. Guests can explore two caves with underground pools and visit the chapel for prayer and weddings.
Came here as passing by , there's a sign outside that said, ' advance booking only ' but don't worry , they'll let you in if you just turn up , very relaxing garden and small cave with pools , nothing spectacular but nice all the same , they'll give you a quick guided tour then leave you to chill out on your own . I would recommend spending a lazy afternoon here if you are in the area . Price is from 100 pesos so not expensive. Oh and they have changed the name to ' Alicia's secret garden ' .
Phillip D — Google review
It is now called Alicia's Secret Garden. I am so happy I found this place. I only wish I had found it sooner, I would spend all day. It has a cave with a natural spring that feeds the pools (you can swim in) and a restaurant. The gardens are beautiful, playing tranquil music, and have a fish foot spa (it tickles!)! that was a fun experience. Highly recommended. FYI the sign says closed Mondays.

One of the attractions in Puerto, but is usually not included in day tours. We rented a tricycle for our day tour and exchange the two destination with this one. Entrance fee is Php100.00/person, everything is included. Tour (with tour guide) around the place and caves, fish spa, use of spring pool, use of bathroom. Food is also not a problem, there is a restaurant inside. Its a place that need a longer time to stay. There are two caves, where you’d get to experience to walk inside it. One of the caves has a pool inside. Its really tempting to try the water, too bad we weren’t prepared. Better bring a pair of slippers when visiting, the fish spa is also tempting. This is a good place to visit. Holy, for it is surrounded by religious articles and relics. It has also its own chapel inside, which is a beauty of its own. Respect to this place must be given. Also, I believe mass are also held here. Safety is also a priority. They provide hard caps when entering the caves. The beauty of nature.

Love the Fish Spa, and those 2 cool pools inside the Cave, it also has a Chapel inside the premises and some cool archeological stuff displayed inside the premises.

Really loved this place. I wish we had a whole day to spend in this serene place. It's our first time to visit here and we're really glad we saw it. For just P100 entrance fee.. you can already enter the cave where the face of Jesus was formed in the stalactites. Inside the other cave is an underground pool with a very refresing water..you cant resist but dip into it. I just think it would be best if the owner will require guests to have a shower first before going in the pool. After the swim, we had a fish spa outside the cave. Kudos to these fish who are so hardworking!

prayer place...peaceful & solemn. Package/Amenities: cave with underground pool, chapel for prayer & weddings, fish spa, fossils, plus tour guides & kalawag tea. Great place for wedding, meeting, and retreats for a day. Place is dedicated for their son.
Edgar C — Google review
It is a meditation center specially for catholic. They have a Christ like image in the cave. It has a lot to do. For prayer gatherings, they have fish spa, small pool but comes from natural water inside in the cave, it’s a new kind of experience.
Allain T — Google review
When in Puerto Princesa, Palawan dont forget to include this place for your day tour... This is the perfect place for meditation especially inside the covenant cave... With an entrance fee of 100 pesos you will witness a place that has a covenant cave, a meditation garden, a chapel, a fish spa, a restaurant and an underground swimming pool so bring also your swim wear just incase you'll love to take a bath in the pool... Just take your time in exploring this place coz i'll definitely recommend this...

Embark on an adventure to Masagana Falls with a local guide, starting the hike at the jumpoff point in Barangay Bacungan. After a scenic trek, arrive at the stunning falls where you can swim, take photos, and unwind. The itinerary allows for flexibility and customization based on your preferences. After enjoying the natural beauty of Masagana Falls, trek back to the jumpoff point before concluding the tour and returning to your accommodation.
The upper falls take 30-45 minutes with a guide. Lots of low level fall exposure. Our guide was Jet. He lives near the store about 100 yards from the highway. We paid him 600 pesos but he agreed for 200. He was 3x more valuable than we expected. The dot on the map is a very small waterfall, not worthy of hiking to, so don't expect to use that as a reference as you'll go by it about 5 minutes into the hike. We saw monkeys in the Teak trees that were about 125 ft tall - the trees, not the monkeys. Have fun, you'll get wet.

(Translated by Google) It's easy to start, but you can do it for an hour or so, depending on where you start. Just look at the stitching part. 4 stars because there was a thief in the parking lot outside. tip: park at the store outside and just pay so the car is safe) also be careful in Masagana because someone has died but it's been a long time. I just didn't like it here when there was a lot of water and it was crowded to the point that there was too much garbage. Remember to leave no trace. Those who come and leave trash are just disappointing. and don't forget to enjoy the place (Original) It's easy to start, but you can do it for an hour or so, depending on where you start. Beach
Canigaran Beach offers a unique experience with its floating cottages that can be rented for a reasonable price. Visitors are towed to a sandbank where they can swim in warm waters and relax for hours. The staff is accommodating, allowing guests to choose their duration of stay. It's recommended to bring your own food and drinks as there are limited options available on-site. The beach provides an opportunity for leisure activities such as swimming, beach games, and even grilling on the floating boats.
Before making your appointment, check the weather or the high (no sandbar) or low tides (you can see the sandbar) for the best view. The beach is 10 minutes away, and the floating cottages you're riding will draw you to the sandbar via BANGKA or BOAT. incredibly fun and safe for friends and family. You can do fishing too but far from the swimming area.

Great experience today at Canigaran Beach floating cottages. Well worth the visit and very good value for money. Our driver towed our floating cottage out to the sand bank where we could enjoy swimming in really warm water, and then we spent a couple of hours relaxing before heading back to land. The staff are great and will let you decide how long you wish to stay. We saw so many star fish! Like other reviews have said - make sure you take water / food / refreshments with you. Only downside is no toilet facilities, and due to building works the entrance to the area where the boats are docked isnt the prettiest. I recommend taking flip flops / water shoes for easier manoeuvring to and from the land. Thank you for a lovely day

This place is not a beach, but a place where you can rent a little floating platform, get towed to a sand bank in the sea and enjoy the the sea as long as you like. - If you have a day in Puerto Princessa and want to escape the heat, this is the perfect thing to do - the water is clear, there are plenty of starfish everywhere - it's very shallow, so suitable for non-swimmers too - take your own food and drinks Two things we didn't like: - there was garbage from previous guests on our platform - to access the platform you have to cross a construction site and wade in mud...

Hand-made Bamboo Engineered Cottages! At first glance, one wonders, yet if you really look at the create construction and reuse of bits and pieces of styrofoam wrapped with netting . . . Craft and sustainability! It’s a simple way to make a living for tourists to enjoy the shallow water, covered from the heat of the sun, for an entire day or a few hours. I much prefer this option over beaches filled with tourists, flies and vendors selling jewelry.
FLUID B — Google review
For the extranjero its an affordable family fun option. Even during low tide it is beyond beautiful. We prepared our food before hand so we could spend more time swimming, snorkling, and bonding. With so much to do in Puerta its easy to overlook this place — but with the right group of beautiful people it will be a memorable experience. Aside from the abundent wild life, amazing mangaroves, and fresh air we saw several vintage planes flying in for formation overhead and more modern airplanes bringing tourists to the island. Worth every peso — Mahalo and Mabuhay!!
Mansa S — Google review
The place was fairly good, friendly people and visitors. The floating cottages were cheap and it's a good place to drink and relax. Although the waters are sometimes rough and the cottages kept moving which made me dizzy while I was eating. The sea itself looks clean at first, although there are a lot of dead sea grass floating around. The place is also next to the Palawan airport which is not that far and only takes 16 mins. Overall this place is still worth the visit but I do not recommend if you have a weak stomach and have a quick motion sickness. 6/10

A hidden gem in Puerto Princessa. You can rent a floating cottage then a small boat will tow it to a beautiful sandbar. My only concern is that there is no washroom on board but the boatman can take you back to the shore quickly. You can also bring bbq supplies as they have a small kitchen on board.
Oliver D — Google review
Another hidden gem in puerto princesa. It’s not really a beach but here you take a floating cottage (P1000 for a 2-8 person cottage) to a sandbar where the water is knee length deep and a small beach area And you just chill there. If you’re lucky, you get to see the planes take off or land from the airport. Only issue would be There are no toilets or food, so if you’re coming here bring your own food/drinks/water your can take out to the sea with. I’d recommend this place which for a chilling afternoon.
