Plaza Cuartel in Puerto Princesa, Palawan is a historical site with a tragic past. It was once a military garrison built by Spanish colonizers and later occupied by Japanese forces during World War II. The plaza is now an outdoor park that serves as a solemn reminder of the Palawan Massacre, where over 100 American soldiers were burned by the Japanese. The area is surrounded by trees and features a monument commemorating the tragic event.
I was very happy to see renovations ongoing at this important historical site. There is signage, markers and plaques honoring the POWs who were imprisoned and perished here during WWII. A must see for those who care about history.
Kevin S — Google review
A really great historical place with historical facts on it. If you love history, this place is a must to visit.
Macky D — Google review
This is one of the historical places in Puerto Princessa if you take the City Tour. It is literally right across the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. In WWII, this place was a US military base back where American soldiers were imprisoned & burned alive by the Japanese. A few survivors were able to flee and swim across the harbor to the land nearby (since there was also a military base there). Years passed. One of the survivors, took the lead of creating this Memoire to serve a reminder of what happened & we hope to be able to learn a thing or 2 from it. Also,,, BEAUTIFUL SCENERY & VIEW!!! Unfortunately, a pier is being constructed nearby which might disrupt the ocean view from Plaza Cuartel.
Loren R — Google review
This place has a nice view and gives you a bit of the history of what used to be a military base in WWII and what has become of it after it was burned down by the Japanese. It would have been more interesting if there's a tour guide to properly explain butI guess since it has been burned down in 1944, it only serves to commemorate the brave soldiers who were burnt down with the place. Whilst here, you can sit down and enjoy the view which gives you a xalming feeling. You will also see kids running around.
Ma. R — Google review
Tobe honest, after reading about the massacre that occurred here towards the end of world war 2 I was really upset. It was shocking to think how those soldiers died while trying to help liberate Palawan from the Japanese. The monument donated by the remaining survivor really captured the brutal was they were executed
Brendan F — Google review
An important landmark in Palawan where the Palawan massacre of 1944 took place. A tranquil park at present, you can see the other side of the Puerto Princesa sea from here. Plaza Cuartel is a place to pay respects to the victims of that tragic event that is forever etched in history. There is a memorial designed by one of the only few survivors.
McRey I — Google review
The place was good to chill in or sight seeing due to this historical way back for WW2. You can read or discover some ancient history of our marines hero who fought us against the japanese trops. The place is good for rehearsing of any activities of school. Its a neighboring place at the main catholic church in Puerto Princessa Well recommended.
Jill T — Google review
Our visit to Plaza Cuartel in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, was both moving and educational. This historical site, with its tragic World War II backstory, serves as a poignant reminder of the past. The preserved ruins and memorial plaques offer a solemn atmosphere, allowing visitors to reflect on the sacrifices made during that time. The location's peaceful surroundings and the effort to commemorate the lives lost make Plaza Cuartel an essential stop for those interested in understanding Palawan's history and paying respects to the heroes of the past.

The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is a mountainous park with a 5-mile underground river and caves that offer boat tours. It's a nominee for the New 7 Wonders of Nature and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage List. The park features breathtaking rock formations, diverse wildlife, and a unique geological formation that attracts tourists. Visitors can explore the underground river through a network of caves and grottos on boat tours.
A living, breathing museum of nature's art 😍 It is indeed one of the Wonders of the World. The process to get here is very organized and safe. Boats from piers have designated numbers and are written on each life vest so you won't board a wrong boat. They will give you a helmet before walking inside the forest that will lead you to the Underground river. They also provide audio guides as it is prohibited to create loud sounds inside the cave because it will disrupt the ecosystem there. Beware of 2 things though: 1. The resident monkeys roaming the area. They can get aggressive and persistent. 2. The bat droppings inside the cave. They can contain harmful bacteria that will cause diseases. Overall, it was an excellent experience 👌 the balance of preservation and tourism is very evident.
Kath A — Google review
Features a navigable underground river that flows through a limestone karst mountain landscape, offering visitors a unique and awe-inspiring experience. - **Best Time to Visit:** The dry season - **Tour Options:** Guided boat tours usually last about 2-3 hours and include a paddle through the underground river, showcasing stunning stalactites, stalagmites, and diverse wildlife. - **Tips:** - Wear comfortable clothing and bring rain gear if needed. - Book your tour in advance, as it’s a popular attraction. - Bring your camera, but ensure it’s waterproof or kept safe during the boat ride.

really amazing experience and educational. just so many people at the time we toured it. but everyone, our tour guide (she took my photo ♡) and boat tour operator were very pleasant. I'm more of a museum person but i recommend stopping by! just be wary of the smell (because of bat droppings) and crowds
Shiro-san 2 — Google review
This is a good experience. It is quite touristy. We got a boat from the mainland to the island where the caves are. The island is full of wildlife which was a highlight for us. Lots of monkey and monitor lizards. The caves are beautiful with lots of bats flying around. You go into the cave on a small boat 9km in which takes around 25 minutes. Overall a nice experience but there are ALOT of people doing it
Anna B — Google review
A fantastic experience and well worth the trip, the cave is enormous and the tour only shows a fraction of it but the rock structures are phenomenal and some of the larger chambers are over 80m tall. The tour provides a listening device with an audiolog describing all the different parts of the cave and river. 10/10 would visit again

My friend and I went there. It was a fun experience. Beautiful cave. If you are planning to visit, be careful with travel agents. Pick carefully and check their reviews before giving them your business. I made a mistake and was ripped off. Cost for this trip alone through agency was 2700 pesos and 150 for environmental fee. Total 2850 pesos. Includes underground river, transportation, and lunch.
Dami S — Google review
Visiting the Underground River in Puerto Princesa feels like stepping into a living miracle. The cave is mysterious, enchanting, and truly breathtaking — no wonder it’s a UNESCO Wonder of Nature! The most unforgettable moment? Seeing a massive mountain of bat guano inside, literally the size of a ten-story building. Nature is raw, wild, and beautiful here. An absolute must-see!

The underground river is amazing, a stunning part of nature, a mesmerising place to visit, don't miss your chance to visit once in your lifetime. Highly recommended for family, friends, couples or singles. The people are very friendly and helpful.

The Palawan Butterfly Ecological Garden and Tribal Village is a wonderful place that combines nature, beauty, and culture all in one visit. The garden is peaceful and full of vibrant butterflies flying around, making it a perfect spot for nature lovers and photographers. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, sharing interesting facts about the butterflies and other animals in the garden. What makes this place even more special is the Tribal Village, where you can meet and interact with members of the Palaw’an tribe. They showcase their traditional way of life, crafts, and survival skills, giving visitors a meaningful glimpse into Palawan’s rich indigenous culture. It’s a relaxing, educational, and eye-opening experience — great for families, students, and tourists who want to appreciate both the natural and cultural treasures of Palawan. A must-visit while in Puerto Princesa!
Ivan S — Google review
The place offers a peaceful setting, but the butterfly collection is quite small and the butterflies themselves aren’t very large or spectacular. It’s a nice spot for a short visit but may not meet expectations if you’re hoping for a vibrant butterfly display. What stood out most was the live tribal music — the rhythmic drumbeats and soulful guitar instrument created an authentic atmosphere that really connected me to their heritage. It was a beautiful, respectful glimpse into Palawan’s indigenous culture.
Roxy A — Google review
Visited the Butterfly Ecological Garden & Tribal Village in Palawan recently, and it was both calming and eye-opening. The butterflies flitting around the garden made for a peaceful walk, and I liked seeing the other rescued animals too (bearcats, peacocks, scorpions, etc.). The tribal part was the most memorable — the guides shared stories, showed indigenous crafts, music, and taught about the Palaw’an way of life, which felt genuine and respectful. Entrance is super affordable, so if you’re in Puerto Princesa and have an hour or two to spare, this spot is worth dropping by.
Norman G — Google review
Definitely a 5 stars garden all things considered! I was initially a little skeptical about the place but it was very well kept, maintained and the staff/guides were well trained and is inclusive in the very reasonable 60peso ticket. Other than the butterflies, they kept small interesting insect like scorpion, giant millipede and stick insect. Local palawan peacock and bearcat. And the tribal village really catches my eye even with their musical instrument, blow dart, bamboo basket and how they start a fire. Must visit!
Eng L — Google review
The Palawan Butterfly Ecological Garden and Tribal Village is a hidden gem just outside Puerto Princesa that offers a surprisingly rich and educational experience. It’s more than just a butterfly sanctuary — it’s a window into Palawan’s biodiversity and indigenous culture. The butterfly garden is small but beautiful, with a variety of butterflies fluttering around lush tropical plants. Staff members are friendly and often share interesting facts about butterfly life cycles and conservation efforts. You can also see other animals like stick insects, scorpions, Crocodile and even a Palawan bearcat up close. The real highlight, though, is the Tribal Village. Members of the indigenous Palaw’an tribe share parts of their culture — from traditional hunting tools and crafts to music and language. The presentation is done with warmth and respect, and visitors are encouraged to interact and ask questions. It’s a rare and respectful cultural exchange that adds a deeper layer to the visit. Tips: • Bring small bills for tips or to buy handmade crafts. • The area is not very large, so you can explore everything in about 45 minutes to an hour. • It’s a great stop when paired with other attractions nearby, like Baker’s Hill or Mitra’s Ranch. Overall: A worthwhile visit for families, nature lovers, and those curious about Palawan’s indigenous heritage. It’s educational, respectful, and definitely more meaningful than your average tourist stop.
Dennis L — Google review
Get to see some animals natural in the Philippines on display. There are many ushers there who educates visitors. The tribes who presented look clean and healthy, too. Very interesting facts they share. See the direct descendants of the Tabon Cave men in the flesh!
Beauty&Diamonds — Google review
Felt like I was back in biology class—but way cooler! This place isn’t just about butterflies (though yes, they are majestic). It’s also home to a bunch of rare and fascinating animals. I couldn’t believe they had a bearcat—yes, a real bearcat! There are also peacocks, and that’s when I learned the peacock is actually the official seal of Palawan—how cool is that? You’ll also find crocodiles, praying mantises, scorpions, and more. It’s like a mini wildlife sanctuary with so much to explore. The guides are super helpful in explaining what you're seeing—just follow their lead so you don’t miss out on all the fun facts. Definitely worth the visit!

Nestled on a picturesque hilltop, Mitra's Ranch in Puerto Princesa, Palawan offers breathtaking views of the city and sea. This former private property of the late Senator Ramon Mitra is now a popular tourist attraction known for its well-kept gardens and peaceful ambiance. Visitors can enjoy zip-line rides, go picnicking, or simply unwind while taking in the panoramic beauty of Puerto Princesa from the ranch's viewpoint.
I went on a quick tour before my flight and opted for the package for 550 pesos, which included the giant slide, web, skywalk, and zip line. It was definitely worth the price for me. You can also dine and relax at their café/restaurant, which has a 50-peso entrance fee. They’ll ask you to leave your outdoor shoes before entering. My tour guide and his kid got a free ride on the giant slide since I was the only customer, and the slide only allows pairs to go at a time.
Angel L — Google review
We enjoyed our time here. Everything was quick while we were there. The only downfall is on the slide, everyone just runs to the front desk and the person serves whoever is there without having any control over those who are actually standing in line. It gets a little confusing bc people are all over the place. They need to control the flow better. We also paid to get into the area across from the restaurant thinking there was an entrance fee into the place but in reality, It was only an area to relax. It wasn’t much but it would’ve been nice to know before we paid bc we were only trying to walk to the slide.
Shabrica W — Google review
Get to experience having a photo on a golden horse, eat halo halo, have a zipline and slide experience here. The beauty is in the nice, simple yet sturdy house on the hilltop made of the sturdiest wood. The house's nice, wide design can make you feel the breeze overlooking the sea and islands. Entrance to the house is P50.00 per person.
Beauty&Diamonds — Google review
Mitra’s Ranch is a nice stop in Puerto Princesa with a ₱50 entrance fee. The view of Honda Bay from the veranda is really relaxing. The house has memorabilia of the late Speaker Ramon Mitra, a well-known sabungero politician who became Speaker of the House and even ran for president in the ’90s. The place is simple, but it’s worth a visit for both the history and the scenery during the city tour.
Norman G — Google review
A great spot for a leisurely afternoon, enjoying lunch, or simply having coffee. The place offers a scenic view overlooking the city and the sea. You can explore the house or dine there for a small entrance fee. There are also some rides available, though we couldn’t try them due to the rain during our visit.
Russell J — Google review
If you’re visiting Baker’s Hill, I highly recommend making a quick stop at Mitra’s Ranch since it’s just a short drive away. The main highlight of this place is the breathtaking panoramic view of Puerto Princesa, making it a great spot for sunset watching and taking photos. 🌅 The ranch itself has an interesting history. While it’s primarily known as a horse ranch, I got the impression that it may have also been a farm for cockfighting chickens in the past. The landscape is quite hilly, and I noticed that the horses looked exhausted, possibly due to the steep terrain. Unfortunately, the overall maintenance of the area, including the parking lot, could be improved. A bit of renovation and better upkeep would definitely make the place more tourist-friendly, especially for those who want to sit, relax, and enjoy the view. When we visited, it was really hot, so I was glad to see a coffee shop near the entrance where visitors can grab a drink and cool off. If you’re up for an adventure, there’s also a zipline located below, but be aware that it requires going down steep steps, which may not be ideal for seniors or those with knee problems. Overall, Mitra’s Ranch is a great stop if you’re looking for a quick photo op, a peaceful view of the city, and a breezy spot to watch the sunset. Just don’t expect too many amenities, and be prepared for some uphill walking! 🚶‍♂️ ✅ Pros: Amazing city views, great for sunset watching, windy and relaxing atmosphere ❌ Cons: Needs better maintenance, steep steps not ideal for seniors, can get very hot during midday Would I recommend it? Yes, if you’re already in the area! Just bring water, wear comfy shoes, and don’t expect too much beyond the view. 😊
Sean A — Google review
If you’re after serene views, gentle breezes, and a slow afternoon away from crowds, Mitra’s Ranch delivers. It’s not about luxury or high-energy thrills—it’s about calm moments and open-air space. Just be prepared that some facilities might appear a bit worn and less polished than expected. You can try a few light adventures: a giant slide, skywalk with zipline, giant swing, and horseback riding. However, activities felt a bit overpriced for what they offered, implying maintenance and quality issues
Dennis L — Google review
We went there for rides, and you can finish all 4 as quick as 30 mins. Even quicker depending on queue!

The Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center, also known as the Crocodile Farm, is a traditional park and breeding facility that showcases numerous large and small crocodiles in enclosures. Located in the largest province of the Philippines, this center offers visitors a glimpse into the diverse wildlife of Palawan.
sometimes you need crocs, but real talk, a lil bit scared. but you need to learn more how they live. when your in Palawan, visit here, you will meet #aklat, the huge crocs.
Jocelyn ( — Google review
I visited the Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center during my recent trip to Puerto Princesa, and I’d say it was one of the more eye-opening parts of my itinerary. The place is often referred to as the “Crocodile Farm,” but there’s actually more to it than just crocodiles. As soon as I got there, I was greeted by the sound of birds and the smell of fresh foliage—yes, it has that “wild” vibe right off the bat. The tour started with a short orientation inside a small museum-like area, where I saw an actual preserved skeleton of a massive crocodile that used to live there. It’s jaw-dropping in size—literally. From there, we were guided toward the hatchery area, where baby crocs are kept in separate enclosures. I was both fascinated and slightly unnerved seeing dozens of baby crocodiles squirming around. They looked harmless but knowing what they’d grow into gave me chills. Then came the highlight: the adult crocodile enclosures. There’s a sturdy metal walkway above their pens, and I could see at least a dozen large crocs lounging in the mud or half-submerged in water. One of them let out a deep rumble-like hiss, which made everyone on the platform stop in their tracks. It reminded me these animals are powerful predators, not just zoo attractions. What I appreciated most was that this center isn’t just a tourist spot—it has a strong conservation and rescue mission. They also care for other wildlife, like hornbills, eagles, and other rescued animals. Some are in rehabilitation, while others are permanent residents due to injuries or being raised in captivity. The facility isn’t flashy or commercialized, but it serves its purpose. It’s educational, humbling, and worth visiting if you want a closer look at Palawan’s natural biodiversity—and a better understanding of why conservation matters. Pros: • Up-close view of crocodiles at all stages of life • Educational and conservation-focused • Chance to see rescued birds and mammals Cons: • Some areas need maintenance • Not ideal for people who don’t like the sight (or smell) of wild animals Would I recommend it? Yes—especially if you want to experience something raw and real in Palawan beyond beaches and islands.
Dennis L — Google review
Very nice place. Lots of Information given by the guide. Plenty of saltwater and freshwater Crocs to see. Pay a little extra and get to hold a baby croc and have pics. There are also other animals to see here including snakes, birds and more.
Adam G — Google review
The Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center (Crocodile Farm) is an amazing place to learn about wildlife conservation while seeing crocodiles up close! The experience was both educational and exciting — from seeing baby crocodiles in the hatchery to the huge adults in the enclosures. The guided tour was informative, and the staff clearly care about protecting endangered species and educating visitors about the importance of wildlife preservation. Aside from crocodiles, there are also other animals like birds and endemic species found only in Palawan, which made the trip even more interesting. The place is well-maintained, and it’s great for families, students, and anyone who loves nature and animals. Visiting here not only gives you a fun and memorable experience but also helps support conservation efforts in Palawan. Definitely worth a stop when exploring Puerto Princesa
Ivan S — Google review
Appreciate the conservation they are doing here. Cages or pens are clean and sanitized. The staffs look like they genuinely care about the animals. Our guide was informative and funny as well. I just hope they could improve and maintain the place more. There are a lot of vacant areas that can be developed to attract more visitors. The Nature Park looks more like a haunted forest than a park 😢 And it was home to just 2 types of animals. Tourists won't mind paying more if it means the travel to this part of Puerto Prinsesa is worth it.
Kath A — Google review
Been here 2 times already. Place is great for kids. Aside from the crocodiles there are other animals to check. I just hope that we can continue to maintain the park. Very accessible also. We just commute and took jeep and told manong to drop us at Crocodile farm.
Kris A — Google review
Some animals in old fashioned small cages, which is sad in this century. They need more rokm in natural setting. Half the park is closed anyway. Lack of visitors? Highlight are the crocodiles.
Houseproud M — Google review
The fee is about 25 pesos to enter. I really liked all the animals, it was fun exploring and studying them. But I hate to say that the facility is being cruel to them. Instead of a sanctuary and a facility to protect these crocodiles, they are mostly captured and taken here basically as a prison. The crocodiles aren't taken here because they are endangered, they were taken to this facility as a "punishment". Most of these crocodiles spend their years at the facility where they didn't release them back to the wild. With all due respect, most the crocodiles does have kill counts and records of them killing and eating people, specifically fishermen. The young crocodiles are bred and taken away, instead of releasing them to the wild they export it into different products. It's sad to see them tightly cramped into a small box which barely has any space. That includes the larger crocodiles that were kept in tiny concrete spaces which look quite uncomfortable. The staff are really quite friendly although the facility is old, runned-down and the crocodiles aren't taken care enough. These can lead them to distress and it is quite sad and cruel to see these animals kept in captivity for accidently attacking humans. The last part is, the last auction where you can hold a baby crocodile and take a picture with it. It seems cool at first but it gets dark and cruel instantly. The baby crocodile's mouths are shut tight and they are kept in tiny cramped corners. Visitors are quite noisy and eager to touch them which is sad because crocodiles are sensitive to loud sound and can distress them. I noticed how the baby crocodiles always move around aggressively and tries to escape from the crowd. I support the staff, but the facility I really dislike. Please don't support any of the business and the stuff they are doing to crocodiles. They are endangered species and should not be toyed and used for products and other commercial uses.

Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Puerto Princesa, Philippines, is a significant religious site with a rich history. Originally built in 1872 and reconstructed several times, it stands as a neo-Gothic structure with twin towers and vaulted ceilings. Despite its simple architecture, the cathedral holds great importance to the community and serves as the main place of worship for nearly 150 years.
Very beautiful Neo-Gothic cathedral. There's not much in the way of Spanish Gothic in evidence, which I found odd. Given the dedication, it's not surprising to find many artworks including paintings and sculptures of Mary. The roof of the interior has a V shaped ceiling has portraits of the apostles.

A peaceful and beautiful spot right in the city. The blue and white facade really stands out, and the inside feels calm and welcoming. It’s a great place to pause, reflect, or say a quick prayer. Right across from Plaza Cuartel, so it’s easy to stop by if you’re exploring the area. Simple, quiet, and worth a quick visit—even if you’re not religious.

The Immaculate Conception Cathedral is one of Puerto Princesa’s most beautiful and meaningful landmarks. Its stunning blue and white Gothic-inspired architecture immediately catches your eye, and the moment you step inside, you can feel the peaceful and sacred atmosphere. This cathedral holds great historical value as one of the oldest churches in Palawan, standing as a symbol of the city’s faith and heritage. The interior is simple yet elegant, and it’s a perfect place for quiet reflection or prayer. It’s also conveniently located near the Plaza Cuartel, making it easy to include in a short city tour. Whether you’re a Catholic or just someone who appreciates history and architecture, the Immaculate Conception Cathedral is definitely worth a visit. It’s a serene stop that lets you experience both the spiritual and cultural heart of Puerto Princesa.

A peaceful and beautiful spot in the heart of the city. The cathedral is stunning from the outside, but the real beauty is inside — calm, sacred, and perfect for quiet reflection. A must-visit whether you're local or just passing through.

Through the years, they changed the color of the church. From blue and white to white and brown. Had a lot of renovation but it's still as beautiful! A lot of memories here in this place. Luckily, they already have a tarpaulin of the schedule of masses and services. Always pray and light a candle. 😊💙

A nice place to go and pray. Mass is scheduled as early as 5:10 AM. You can find the full schedule on their Facebook page. Definitely a place to visit when you're in Puerto Princesa.

🕊️ A Review from a Heart, Returning Home As someone who was raised in a non-denominational background, I never expected that my search for truth would bring me to the doors of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral here in Puerto Princesa. But here I am—on the path to becoming Catholic—and this Cathedral has been nothing short of a sacred turning point in my life. I came not just as a curious observer, but as a soul yearning to encounter Christ in the fullness of His Church. And by grace, I did—with my heart open, my rosary in hand, and my beloved, beside me in prayer. The first time I entered, I was stunned by the traditional reverence that wrapped the place like a veil. The high altar drew my eyes heavenward — not merely architectural, but theological. The communion rails still intact reminded me that the sacred is not to be rushed or handled casually. There’s even a section cloaked in a deep blue curtain, entirely dedicated to Mama Mary, with an icon so tender and ancient, it might very well be the traditional image drawn by St. Mark the Evangelist himself. Outside, the neo-Gothic facade in tones of aged white and ivory stands like a sentinel of time. Statues of Mary and St. Joseph greet visitors with open arms. Inside, the Adoration Chapel is where my heart landed. The monstrance is fixed right into the wall—not hidden, not moved —anchored, much like the Real Presence it contains. There, beneath the gaze of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Selah and I sat in stillness, praying our rosaries, whispering intentions, and watching as silence became communion. We’ve returned for weekday Mass, Saturday vigil, and hope to make this our spiritual home every Sunday Mass. Every visit has deepened our faith, not just because of what the Cathedral is, but Who dwells in it—Jesus Christ, truly present in the Eucharist, calling sinners, wanderers, and seekers home. This Cathedral is more than just a landmark in Puerto Princesa. It is a place where heaven touches earth, where seekers become pilgrims, where Catholicity is alive, and where prodigals begin their journey home. If you’re ever in the city—Catholic or not—come. Sit. Look up. Listen. And maybe, like me and my girlfriend, you’ll find yourself found in Christ's One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.

Ugong Rock Adventures is a thrilling tourist attraction located just north of Puerto Princesa in Palawan. It offers an array of exciting activities such as zip-lining through the jungle, exploring underground caves, and trekking on strategic trails that lead to stunning views. The site also serves as a gateway to various natural attractions in Palawan, including island-hopping tours in Honda Bay and the Tubbataha Reef Marine Park.
A Thrilling Adventure at Ugong Rock, Palawan If you’re looking for an adventure that gets your heart racing and your arms burning (in the best way possible), Ugong Rock Adventures in Palawan is the place to be! I went in thinking it was just a casual climb—but wow, was I in for a surprise. The journey started with spelunking through tight limestone formations, squeezing through narrow gaps, and using ropes to pull myself up steep rock faces. There were moments when I questioned my life choices (and my upper body strength), but the amazing guides kept things fun and encouraging. The climb was intense but so rewarding. At the top, the panoramic view of the surrounding forest was absolutely breathtaking! But the real highlight? The Superman-style zipline descent! Instead of taking the seated option, I went full superhero mode, soaring face-first over the lush greenery below. The rush of wind, the insane speed, and the feeling of flying made all the effort worth it. Ugong Rock Adventures is a must-visit if you love adrenaline, nature, and a good challenge. Just be prepared to work those muscles—and don’t skip leg day before coming! (Jan-2023)

This was part of our trip to the underground river - it is 300pesos to do the cave walk, which you can then walk back down, or zip line for 250-350 more. We chose to walk back down. Overall it was fine - interesting enough but our guide didn't really explain much and it felt quite rushed to just get to the top.

I had a great time trying this new adventure. The locals are very polite and will assist you all the way. Protective gears such as helmet and gloves are provided. Be careful from the edges of the rocks but the guide will inform you ahead and knows the techniques how to pass through narrow paths. If you are into adventure, you'll love it. There is a 90degree rope climbing. When you reach the top, you'll be rewarded by an amazing view. There's an optional zipline (with additional fee) to go down. My friend and I decided to climb down and saw more of the rock formations. The sound or "ugong" produced from the rocks are amazing. I encourage to try and support this activity you'll never forget in PPS Palawan 😊

Loved this experience.. 20-30mins or so (by car) from Sabang. Great value for the experience, nice forest walk and then some caving walking and a few easy ladders to eventually end up at zip line. I’ve been on a few zip lines and this one was pretty cool…
Laura F — Google review
What an amazing place and lovely surprise. We were supposed to go to a different zipline on our underground river tour but at the last minute it was canceled due to maintenance so we were redirected here instead. I’m so glad we were! Had I known how amazing it was, I would’ve absolutely booked this. The staff and guides were informative, friendly, funny and so very helpful. At 67 years, I wasn’t confident about climbing up inside the cave, but the women that were the guides inside the cave helped me at every moment, showing me where to place my hands, my feet and how to get me and my belly through the crevices, making me laugh and facilitating me to achieve a wonderful climb that I never thought I would be able to do. Don’t be intimidated by age or ability as you are in assisted the entire time by the guides, with harnesses and ropes and pulleys to help you climb the more difficult parts. All of the gear and safety equipment is provided. If I can do this, you can! I want to thank them all and would give them a ten out of five stars. The zip line was just the thrilling cream on top and fun reward. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I’ll definitely be back. Big hugs from Santa!

A very nice place and a great adventure. It was not a long hike will take you like less the 10 mins if you just walk up without taking any pic. You have to wait a lil bit if there’s a lot of hiker cause they have some activity inside the cave. But it was an awesome adventure admiring the beautiful formations of nature. If you are tired walking back you can avail the zip line cost like 250 pesos. 🙌🏻

Nagtabon Beach, located just a short boat ride away from Talaudyong, is a local hotspot known for its picturesque beauty and tranquility. It's a popular spot for surfers due to its big waves, making it perfect for adventure-seekers. However, it also offers a peaceful retreat for those seeking relaxation. The beach is ideal for people-watching and picnics, with the nearby Nagtabon Viewdeck offering stunning views of the cove and sunset.
Great place for those whom likes calm beach with "wavy water". Sand reaches far into the sea, sparing need of aqua shoes (no reef, sharp stones, etc.). Best to come here with a driver, who usialy stay 5h. For such trip from PPS we payed about 3500 pesos.

3 stars because beach was dirty with trash at stores and entrance and somewhat on beach. No fee to enter. Beautiful view, water clean and clear. Nice waves. Multiple Sari sari stores there beer food etc. Was not crowded. I will go back someday.

Best beach in pps in my opinion. Nice waters, waves at times, lots of space and nice sand. Beach was clean, there's a rocky area down the end which is fun. There are stalls selling food and drink. I recommend the first stall on the right as you arrive at the beach. Very nice lady, helpful and cooks delicious food. I recommend getting the fish as all the fish is fresh straight out of the sea and is delicious. You can see the fishermen come in with their catch's which is interesting.

It's a beautiful beach. Very few people. The sea is wavy and with clear water, the sand is white and you dont need water shoes. If you want a shady place, there are many palm trees all along, or you can rent a little cottage for ph$500 and that gives you access to bathrooms and showers, too There are many small stores where you can buy snacks and drinks and also eat freshly caught fish Some people are dirty and careless, though, and dont take their trash with them or throw it into the trash cans

Very beautiful white sand beach with good waves for surfing. Sunset is fabulous. There's an eatery on the beach that serves great food despite the modest tables and chairs.

Very serene beach and one of the best beaches of Palawan. Beauty is actually because it is less crowded.. Lot of shops are available for food and snacks. It's free entry and roads are the best part of the journey. I highly recommend to rent a motorbike and enjoy the scenic views along the way.

Free beach , just a fantastic beach with everything you could ask for. The curved beach is lined with Palm trees , soft off white sand , crystal clear water that’s quite shallow for about 50m and it’s all sand and no seaweed/ coral rock under foot. Great little shop that does superb mango shakes . There’s surf board and SUP hire and a kite surf business. No surf on our arrival as it’s mid summer so the sea was lovely and flat. A proper stunning Philippino beach , snorkelling area at either side of the bay- No jellyfish seen

The seaside promenade is lined with palm trees, making it perfect for walkers, bicyclists, and joggers. In addition to beach and island activities, visitors can take a city tour to explore the historical aspects of Puerto Princesa.
It's a place where people can do fitness activities like jogging, biking or walking. If you are a seafood lover, this place is recommendable for such. You can enjoy the and drinks while experiencing beautiful skies during sunset.

It’s definitely a go-to place, especially at night. The view of the mountain range on the left side is scenic and relaxing. There are plenty of food carts and restaurants to choose from. You can find meals ranging from below ₱100 to over ₱400–₱500, depending on what you’re looking for.
John V — Google review
Puerto Princesa Baywalk is honestly one of the best public spots in the city if you’re looking for a relaxing place to hang out. I love going there late in the afternoon, especially just before sunset. The sea breeze, the view of the water, and the warm colors of the sky make it a peaceful and beautiful spot to just slow down and breathe. The walkway is wide and great for casual strolls or biking, and there are usually families, couples, and tourists around—everyone enjoying the same calm vibe. There are food stalls along the area too, selling grilled seafood, street food like fish balls, and cool drinks, which makes the experience even better. What I appreciate is that the area feels safe and generally clean. But I do hope the city government continues to maintain it well—not just the pathway and landscaping, but also the facilities. One thing I noticed is the lack of clean, accessible restrooms. That would make a big difference for both locals and tourists. It would also be great if they could add more shaded areas or resting spots, especially for older visitors and families with kids. It gets really hot during the day, and a few more covered benches would go a long way. Still, even with those improvements needed, the Baywalk is a gem in the city. It’s not commercialized or overly crowded, and that’s part of its charm. It gives you a real sense of the local life in Puerto Princesa—calm, simple, and close to nature.
Dennis L — Google review
Maybe I was lucky but it was a partly cloudy day with strong chill onshore wind blowing. Did not sweat a single drop while walking and doing some stationary exercise there. Enjoyed the scenery, weather but wasn't hungry enough to eat the various restaurants and street hawker food then. Highly recommended!

It's just ok. But they've dug up the surroundings quite a bit so you need to be careful of the mud, puddles, and holes in the ground. The view though is nice, especially on a clear day.

This offbeat activity offers a magical experience as you glide through the water, surrounded by blinking lights from the fireflies and twinkling stars above. Learn about these unique creatures' biology and habitat while immersing yourself in this natural wonder.
A really nice tour! We were more than impressed by the service and especially by the many fireflies. The location is newly renovated and a nice place to come down. We also had a fabulous dinner. Everyone goes out of their way. Thank you very much for this unforgettable evening!

It's amazing to see those fireflies during our visit , but definitely I won't comeback because too expensive it's not worth paying 1k for 45 minutes tour. 1k for an entrance fee would be applicable for foreigner since for them 1k is a bit cheap. Looks like you are seeing a Christmas tree with Christmas light. Appreciate the staff tho. It's not value for money.

A good experience of you havent see fireflies before..it is of a smaller size but December is the best season as you can see more. Can see some stars too but unfortunately the sky wasn't so dark during my trip.
Quah T — Google review
It was a peaceful and magical experience. The night was dark, and the only sound was the boat gliding along the quiet river. Our tour guide gave an expert discussion about the fireflies, sharing interesting facts about their life cycle and habitat. A truly serene and educational tour. The tour took almost an hour.
Al D — Google review
I understand this magical place has recently reopened after a refurb. We were treated like totally as first international visitors 😊 The facility is extremely well organised. Our guide Anthony was clear and informative and we enjoyed Capt Maynard’s careful boatmanship in an ecologically sensitive area. Worth letting them know in advance if you’re vegetarian. We felt bad that they prepared meat for us that we didn’t eat… however by the time we got back from the boat trip they made a new vegetable dinner for us. Very thoughtful. The fireflies themselves are of course the star of the show. It was nice to have seen the river earlier on the sunset cruise to have context. Just magical to be in such a beautiful spot to commune with the fireflies with no other boats distracting us.

Wow wow wow Sabang beach 🏝️ We have just returned to the UK following our 6 night stay. We visited the beach everyday and were very often the only people there less the locals walking to and from their boats. The beach was clean, the water clear and so warm, like stepping into a warm bath! There are so many fish and shallow too, my recommendation is to bring a snorkel 🤿 or snorkel mask with you so you don’t miss out. At the far right of the beach (furthest away from the harbour) you will find the corals and rock pools which are a fish haven. We were. So lucky to see so many varieties of fish and literally ankle deep, so perfect for little people to enjoy too. Swimming felt safe as it was calm, but the resorts do put flags out so do check them out for warnings. Do bring: * bug spray as there’s reports of sand fleas although we never experienced any bites 🦟 * sunscreen 🧴 * snorkelling equipment 🤿 * towels if you aren’t staying at a resort locally * bottled drinking water 🚰 * water shoes if exploring the rocks as they are sharp, we did ok wearing flip flops 🩴

The good; Good waves for body boarding or even surfing Good and gentle slope Find sand. Not crowded. Get to see local life No boats blocking the beach Spacious, CLEAN Great views of mountains to the west and south Watch out for; 1. Rip currents 2. Niknik or sand mites (got a lot of bites at the end of October).
Lewis Y — Google review
Sabang Beach, compared to other beaches in the Philippines, is relatively average. It lacks a reef, snorkeling, or diving opportunities in the area. The restaurants tend to be overpriced, and the food is passable at best. There are only two non-backpacker resorts available, both costing over 100 USD per night. Unless you're looking for a quiet retreat on a somewhat ordinary beach or staying overnight in transit, there isn't much reason to linger here. Most visitors may find themselves getting bored after spending more than a night. It might be better to head straight to El Nido for a more vibrant and diverse experience.

The Palawan Museum, located in the heart of Puerto Princesa, offers a captivating exploration of the province's rich cultural heritage. Housed in the historic Old City Hall at Mendoza Park, this two-story museum showcases a diverse collection of artifacts and exhibits. Visitors can marvel at replicas of significant national cultural treasures such as the Tabon Man's skull cap and Manunggul Jar, alongside ethnological artifacts from indigenous groups like the Tagbanua and Batak.
A must visit when you’re in Puerto Princessa. Sadly, it’s not offered in any of the city tours. You can still visit privately. You can go here via public transpo (trike or multi-cab). Transpo via multi cab is cheaper. The entrance fee to the museum is P50. There are no guides but the information posted for each exhibit is sufficient . There are two floors for this museum. I particularly enjoyed the exhibit about the version of Baybayin that originated in Palaw’ an. I also bought a T-shirt with Baybayin print that can only be found in the museum.

The lake water is not clear, but the place is clean. Good for friends and family outing, except those who have physical difficulty, and to young to enjoy the extreme sports.

Great fun we only went for the basic 1hr session which imo was enough. You make it across pretty much all the obstacles, slides in that time. After that you can use the boards and paddle around the front. There is other activities available (non water related) but can't comment on those as we only did the inflatable part.

Amazing experience. We went on a Tuesday and ended up having the whole park to ourselves. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, we were 15 minutes late for food but they cooked for us anyway. Our guides were awesome and fun showing us around, and kept the park open a little later so we could enjoy. Highly recommend!

My first waterpark adventure and definitely enjoyable with family and friends- like "the more the merrier" thing. If you have underwater camera or GoPro much better so you can film your struggles through different levels of obstacles and keep the best memories with everyone.

Waterfalls
Nestled in the rural landscapes of Puerto Princesa, Olangoan Waterfalls offers an off-the-beaten-path adventure for nature enthusiasts. A scenic drive leads to a hike through lush forest trails, crossing streams and immersing in unspoiled nature. Located in Barangay Binduyan, this future natural park and protected sanctuary is a perfect spot for a refreshing dip and relaxing picnic.
A very great place to visit. Water is pristine. Price is very reasonable. People are kind.

This was a really beautiful hike, but certainly not an easy one. I went late morning and there was nobody there to guide so after asking someone where the starting point was (across some grass and then through the shallow river) I went in search of the waterfalls solo. It’s not an obvious route, with no signage or bridges as seen in older reviews. You need to wade through the river several times, clamber across large rocks and guess at points which way to go. It is very wild and jungle-esk and it was nice to be rewarded with a swim at the end. There was torrential rain on the way back which made the rocks slippery and proved even more difficult to see any trodden-in paths. I’m glad I did this but I wouldn’t recommend doing this solo or without a guide. Good hiking shoes that can get wet are recommended!
Ruth H — Google review
It’s a beautiful and extended area, easily walkable with paths and stairs everywhere, they took care of it. There were also some very small monkeys high in the trees which was a nice sight. I’d gladly pay ₱50 for the entrance, but I’m tired of this “no guide no entry” BS all over Palawan. Other reviews talk about ₱600 which is nuts. Thankfully I came here after closing time and nobody was there to ask me for money for “guide” me around. Nobody needs a guide just to follow a path.
Bingsu — Google review
They monetized the place. 50 pesos for entrance fee is okay, but 600 pesos for a tour guide is just too much. And besides, there are so many beautiful waterfalls in Palawan that you can visit for a way cheaper price. I wish I could give a 0 for this.

Sabang X Zipline in Puerto Princesa offers an exhilarating experience of gliding through the rainforest, providing stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The 800-meter zipline allows visitors to soar above the treetops and enjoy picturesque vistas of mountains and sea. Accessible via a scenic walkway, this attraction is a must-try for adventure enthusiasts. Additionally, it is conveniently located near the Underground River, making it a popular inclusion in adventure packages.
Well worth the money. Awesome shallow river crossing, small jungle hike, amazing views. ₽800 is well spent on this epic adventure eco-tourism activity. Would go again.
Jet — Google review
I’ve been looking forward to this 800 meters zipline activity. We paid 600 per person to try it. We were the only group that have arrived here. You will pay with the local guide and then we road a bamboo raft to traverse the river for a few seconds and the guide left us on our own and just instructed us to just look for the red flag and hike. It was hight tide that time so we do not know what trail we need to follow especially the sea water was high. They lack signages to pinpoint where to head and were you will find the flag to start the trek. It’s a good 20-30 min walk . Just like the other observation of the other guests the people working here lack customer service skills and they do not even smile, not sure if they were tired or just wanna go home. They do not have a welcoming vibe unlike the other places we visited. They also took some photos while descending which cost 250 each and I got one since they took good photos and just got 1 for souvenir. The wuality of the picture and color plust the paper use could have been better for its price. I love the adrenaline rush and the zipline will take more tha 1 hr and 30 min. Outstanding view of the ocean and cool breeze. What an unforgetful experience. Even the person who is assisting to check for photos is not friendly. Just showed the pic with no enthusiasm at all ,once you have selected the photo our tour guide took out photo from their main office which is in our way back .After descending I was looking for the path to head back but to my surprise we need to traverse the shore it self for probably 3-5 min. It was already hightied and since I am small the water is almost up my waist from the deepest part due to waves but mostly it is up to my hip. I hope they can make bamboo bridge where people can traverse more safely especially i am securing the phone I have with me that time. I got soaked in saltwater after that and to my surprise their comfort room is paid comfort room. To think I already paid for the zipline. SMH it is too much to pay for the toilet. It should be free for all visitors. I hope they can also do some cleaning of the site and the trek to make it more appealing to the visitors. If you are up for some adventure this one is for you. Do not forget your mosquito repellant and have an extra clothing if you will do this activity.
Abby 2 — Google review
There is a great zipline on the water. The view is great. You can ride alone or as a couple. It was very enjoyable. The speed is quite good, not too fast. The descent is quite safe. There are breaks towards the end, which slows you down very quickly and effectively. The guys there also help you get out of the harness immediately. To get there, you need to take a long walk on the beach, then follow the path and climb the hill. It is a bit challenging to make a steep climb in the hot and humid weather. There are no signs up to the path, but when you see people going down the zipline, it is not hard to understand which way to go. We arranged to be picked up from the hotel around 10:00 in the morning. They told us it would take 45 minutes in total. We thought we would be back at 11:00, but it was not like that. We waited in line after climbing the hill for quite a long time. It took us about 1 minute to get down. It was short but very fun. The view was magnificent. If you have a time in Sabang, you should try zipline.
Merve O — Google review
Our weather wasn’t great due to rain but the experience is still worth doing. You get a small boat to a very remote beach and then take a small trek about 10-15 to the start point. From there you’re kitted up and sent on your way. The experience felt safe at all times and was well worth it. The stopping procedure is quite brutal so this activity probably isn’t for those with any back problems
Olly S — Google review
It was super fun! I'm lazy though so I am not a fan of the mini hike going to the start of the zipline lol BUT the beach you get to witness and the view! Amazing. The zipline itself is a relax ride. Would try it again.
Amari A — Google review
It's a great zipline above the water. The scenery is great. It felt like it finished too quickly for us .it was probably because we had a little problem with our video. It can be ridden as solo or couples. It's very enjoyable. A senior lady told me later on she hasitated and she wasn't sure if she handled it so she didn't go. I saw another senior lady riding it before us, so I don't see a problem if the person is comfortable with height. Lenght isn't a problem. It's rather enjoyable. The speed is pretty good, no crazy fast. Landing is very safe. There are breaks towards the end, which slows you down very quickly and effectively. The guys there also help immediately to get off the harness. Going there was a little confusing at first. After the raft, we were instructed to turn right and continue. It's a long beach to cross until the trail, which takes you up to the zipline. Until the trail, there are no signposts, but when you see people coming down with the zipline, it's not difficult to figure out which direction to go. Just look around to observe the zipline start and end points. It's impossible to miss it. Waiting may be long depending on the people. We arranged it in a morning around 10 am pick up from the hotel. At the time of booking they ask what time you want. We thought we'd be back by 11 am, but it wasn't the case. We waited in the queue for quite long. We were happy that we didn't have an early transfer arranged to PP. Watch our videos below.

provides an exciting adventure with a bamboo river crossing and a hike to a beautiful beach before reaching the zipline. Despite a wait on weekends, the experience was superb. The only downside was the workers tirelessly gathering harnesses. Overall, a thrilling experience with stunning views.

Luli Island, part of the picturesque Honda Bay in Puerto Princesa, is a unique sandbar that emerges during low tide and disappears underwater when the tide rises. This tiny islet offers visitors an exceptional experience of strolling on the sandbar surrounded by the crystal-clear turquoise waters of the bay. While island hopping around Honda Bay may not be as stunning as El Nido or Coron, it's still worth exploring if you're in Puerto Princesa.
Will definitely go back. The beach is so inviting. I have enjoyed swimming and snorkeling. There's a diving area as well. The kids would definitely enjoy it too. There are so many activities you can enjoy such as kayaking, snorkeling, and swimming.
Marcos B — Google review
It was part of the Honda Bay Island hopping tour. It's such a cute Island. At high tides, it's barely there. Getting a buko coconut there is a must. Drink it when bathing in the sea then carve out the coconut to eat it.
Meltem K — Google review
Luli Island is a unique stop in the Honda Bay island-hopping tour, known for its sandbar that “sinks and rises” with the tide — hence the name Lulubog, Lilitaw. It’s a cool natural feature and a fun photo spot, especially during low tide when the sandbar is fully visible. The island is generally good for swimming, lounging, and quick stops, with shallow, calm waters and a few shaded areas to rest. There’s also a small diving platform for those who want to jump into deeper water. However, the place clearly needs better maintenance. During our visit, there was noticeable floating marine debris along the shore, which took away from the otherwise beautiful scenery. While this might depend on tides or weather, more regular cleanup would definitely improve the experience. With increasing tourist traffic, upkeep is important to preserve the island’s appeal. Snorkeling isn’t ideal here, as there’s not much marine life, and the island can feel crowded when multiple tour groups arrive at the same time. Facilities are basic, and there’s not much to do beyond swimming and taking pictures. Pros: • Unique sandbar that appears/disappears with the tide • Good for swimming and photos • Quick, convenient stop during Honda Bay tour Cons: • Floating marine debris; area needs better upkeep • Crowded during peak hours • Limited activities and marine life Overall: Luli Island is an interesting and photogenic spot, but it would benefit greatly from more consistent maintenance and environmental care. A worthwhile part of the Honda Bay tour — just don’t expect to spend too long here.
Dennis L — Google review
Part of Honda Bay Island Hopping Tour but you can actually purchase a ticket for this island without going to the others. If you one person, you should purchase the tour from an agency. If you are more than one person, purchae on your own, you can save 50% or more. I was with my friend and purchased the tour through a travel agency. Found out cheaper to purchase on your own when we got to the boat. I would have saved 50% on the two of us vs an agency. Nice beach to swim or just take a dip.
Dami S — Google review
It is quite difficult to review this island actually. At first, it seems like a place with a perfect beach, diving spot, cute huts where you can get your food and drinks from. But when you look closer, and have a short walk, you realise that the beach is quite dirty actually with plenty of sharp objects that make it somewhat difficult to enjoy this natural beauty spoiled by human intervention. I strongly advise you to take your swimming shoes with you to make your experience on the island a bit less painful:-) and loads of sun lotion!!! Overall score: 3 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Nestled just 2.5 kilometers from the Provincial Capitol, the Palawan Special Battalion WW-II Memorial Museum is a poignant tribute to the valor of Filipino guerrilla fighters during World War II. Opened in 2011 by Dr. Higinio Mendoza, Sr.'s son, this private museum showcases an impressive collection of artifacts including vintage vehicles, weapons, and paper money that tell the story of those who bravely defended their homeland against Japanese forces.
Interesting experience. They have so much stuff preserved even the car. It was fun but you can seat inside. Entrance in 50 pesos and there many books about WWII and philiphino culture

For all WWII History geeks, aficionados, or anyone interested to learn more -- this place is definitely worth a visit and was a lot more extensive than I thought. A lot of effort has been made to collect and curate the items being displayed. The entrance fee was 50 pesos and it was really fascinating to learn about the Palawan Fighting 1000 Guerilla and the USAFE. Hope that the items and books can be preserved well for generations to come.
Camille A — Google review
Visiting this small but valuable museum is to pay respect and tribute to the Palawanense and American heroes in their fight against the Japanese invasion in World War II. You can enjoy the Jeeps used by General McCarthur or McJeep, as well as uniforms and weapons of the time, pistols, rifles, as well as swords of different types. Admission is cheap, 50 PHP. The guide Ken Cacho, friendly and knowledgeable, as well as the owners, heirs of the Hero Higinio Mendoza. What an honor to tour and pay tribute to the Heroes of Palawan and the Philippines.

My knowledge of the history of Philippines during WW2, was very sparse. However, I learnt a lot at the museum and found it really insightful. The entrance fee was also only 50 pesos!

The museum is a collection of some of the war armaments since the pre colonial era in the Philippines. It is educational and nostalgic. You may have to read the small prints to be well informed of the relics.
Erwin L — Google review
The Palawan Special Battalion WW-II Memorial Museum in Rizal Avenue, Puerto Princesa is a hidden gem for history lovers, now under new management that continues to preserve and showcase artifacts from World War II and beyond. The museum features an impressive collection of military equipment, uniforms, historical photos, and memorabilia, telling the stories of Filipino and American heroism during the war. One unique highlight is the vintage Buick car displayed at the memorial behind the museum, adding to the historical atmosphere. The café at the entrance also provides a nice touch, making it a convenient stop for visitors. What I Loved: ✔️ Extensive collection of wartime artifacts – including weapons, uniforms, and rare photographs showcasing Palawan’s role in WWII. ✔️ Rich historical significance – with displays featuring Manuel Quezon, Douglas MacArthur, and the sacrifices of Filipino and American soldiers. ✔️ Preserving and curating these historical pieces despite limited resources. Room for Improvement: 🔹 Better air-conditioning – would help preserve historical items and photographs, preventing further degradation. 🔹 Photo restoration – some images are fading, and government support could help in their preservation. 🔹 More interactive features – a documentary video about Palawan’s WWII history, Plaza Cuartel, and the massacre would enhance the visitor experience. 🔹 Clearer curation – while the exhibits are well-organized, some items, like Imelda Marcos’ shoe, feel out of place without additional context. Final Thoughts Despite a few areas for improvement, the Veterans Memorial Museum is an invaluable place to learn about the history and heroism of Palawan. Walking through the exhibits, I could feel both the sadness of lives lost and the gratitude for their sacrifices. I highly recommend this museum to both locals and tourists—it deserves more visitors and support to keep these important stories alive.

Salakot Falls is nestled in the southern part of a mountain range that also features renowned peaks like Thumbpeak and Beautfort. The entrance fee for this serene spot is quite affordable, with an option to rent a cottage for a slightly higher price. The waterfall may not be massive, but its crystal-clear waters offer a revitalizing experience. It's advisable to bring your own refreshments as there are no vendors nearby.
I give it 5 stars for the same reason. Most people would give it two or three. It is only an hour away from Puerto Princessa. the best way to get here is by car or motorcycle. however, you can take a Jeepneey or bus if you're more adventurous. The roads are, for the most part, very good. and many parts are done with new asphalt. Which makes for very nice driving. the views are nice and uncrowded roads. Entry to the park itself is only 30 pesos per person. it is a very short walk paved with cobblestones to the falls. the facilities are minimalistic. And adequate for the number of people here. It is very rustic and that adds to the charm. This is a tribal run attraction and as such does not have all the Bells and whistles of a theme park. it is a preserved natural place. It is very nice walk along the stream to get to the falls which run between double and quadruple falls. depending on the water flow. the plunge pool is large enough for swimming and deep enough. for being over your head if you are over 6 feet tall. The Undercurrent from the large falis, not too strong. but I would still recommend only good swimmers swim in the large falls. This whole area is cooler than rest of the island with a natural breeze and the water itself is very refreshing and cold. When you first get in however, it is not so cold that you do not adjust to it within a few minutes... Overall, it is a great place to relax and unwind and to recharge your batteries. Be sure to bring a picnic lunch. there is a sarri sarri store across the street. But limited food is available.

Beautiful beach. Not many people during the week. Weekends busier but not too busy as it's such a large beach. River water from the mountains flow down into the sea so you get freezing cold fresh water and warm sea water at the same time where the river water meets the sea. A few vendors here to get food, drink etc. BBQ areas and benches here also.

One of the nearby beaches in Puerto, an hour away from the city center that is easily accessible for everyone. It’s a nice place to hang out and relax as you have the option to either pay for parking and also to access the river nearby or just park on the side. There’s also a hut of some sort where you can pay to get an overnight stay, the price may come a bit steep though but may definitely be worth it for others. Hopefully there’s more development to come to this place as I prefer this one more than the other bay beside it.

A rich place to have a nice view of the seaside At the location, the place is mostly sandy with rocky terrain, 36 Kilometers or 22 Miles, an Hour from the city. There is a trail which is the main road to where you can navigate through the other side of the beach by foot or by vehicle The view and the scenery is great and it's great for having a breakfast here. Windy and a foggy distance. The waves are pretty huge and scary and the locals don't recommend going too far into the water. There are some locals that teach surfing and swimming lessons which is great the fact that the waves in this beach are huge. Overall it's a nice place to relax and enjoy the calm beach. 7/10

I wouldn't call something this small a park, but if that's what they say, so be it. For such a small place, they fit a lot in there and you can sit down and relax for a while. utilitarian in nature, strategic by design, and effective for its purposes. The Park is named after a hero who died for his country. On January 24, 1944, former Palawan Governor Higinio Mendoza, Sr. was executed by the Japanese. In his defiant last recorded words he instructed his family and fellow countrymen: “Do not be afraid, don’t be sad. Not many are given the privilege to die for his country.”

The park's stunning waterfront view is a sight to behold, especially during sunset. It's the perfect spot to unwind, enjoy a leisurely stroll, or simply sit back and savor the moment.

This park has been a popular landmark in Puerto Princesa for as long as I can remember. It is strategically located in the heart of the city, and is a go-to venue for a wide array of events and competitions. On most days, you'll witness a number of students doing performance rehearsals and sports practice here. There are also food stalls around the area. Aside from that though, you'll find not much of exciting activities here, in comparison to Puerto Princesa baywalk. Maybe 30 minutes would already be a generous amount of time for a visit.

It's a good place to chill with your friends and family. There are some restaurants near the area and it features the famous tree in puerto princesa, the balayong tree which made me a bit nostalgic. They also play good music sometimes. If you really want to enjoy the place, might as well bring a food.

The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River is a must-see destination, known for its guided boat tours through an underground system of caves with unique limestone formations. This site has been recognized as one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The river spans over 24 kilometers, making it one of the world's longest navigable underground rivers. Visitors can enjoy comfortable accommodations and various tour packages offered in the area.
A breathtaking natural wonder! It is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. The boat ride through the cave is peaceful and awe-inspiring, with massive limestone formations and clear explanations from the guide. The scenery around the site is just as beautiful—lush forest, wildlife, and calm blue waters. It's well-organized, but expect some waiting due to its popularity. Definitely worth the visit!
Roxy A — Google review
It was an interesting cave experience. Nowhere near amazing or spectacular, but nevertheless it was interesting. It is a bit overpriced for what it is but well organized. The downside is that you boat that will take you there will probably run with two lawnmower engines that are noisy as hell. When you get there the actual cave tour is on a paddle boat. Don't go there if you don't like bats or if you're afraid of getting some bat drops on your clothes.

A very very cool and unique experience to visit on of the new 7 natural wonders of the world. A well run experience too you take a boat from Sabang harbour then walk through a bit of jungle to the lagoon area which is where you pick up the small boat to the river. You’re given an audio guide and the tour lasts approximately 40 minutes. Then you go back to the beach to meet your boat again.
Olly S — Google review
We preferred to stay in Sabang instead of Puerto Princesa to visit the underground cave. Because it takes a short time to get to the cave from here. Therefore, after spending about 1 hour in the cave, you have plenty of time to spend at Sabang Beach. It takes about 2 hours to get there from PP. A must-see place. It is now one of the new 7 natural wonders. You enter the cave in turns by boat. Therefore, there is no crowd, no boats and no noise. We are greeted by our hosts, the bats. Silence is very important in the caves. This makes the journey very enjoyable. The audio guide is very helpful. It explains many magnificent rock formations that can be seen. Well-preserved natural beauty.

Tour was the perfect length; not too much, not too little....good experience without over/under selling; a must do when visiting PPS!! Be sure to check the weather and tour availability keeping in mind that its a 2hr ride from PPS to the river....oh yeah, do the zipline over the water while you are there 🙌🏽👍🏽

It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site and even made it onto the list of the New7Wonders of Nature. Imagine a stunning area with dramatic limestone cliffs, and tucked away within it is this amazing underground river that flows right out to sea. The cool part? You can actually take a boat ride into a section of the cave! It's not just a quick peek; you get to go quite a ways in and see all sorts of wild rock formations – think incredible stalactites and stalagmites hanging down. Beyond the river itself, the whole park is a treasure trove of nature, with all sorts of plants and animals. It's a really unique ecosystem that goes from the mountains all the way down to the coast. And yup, you can easily pull it up on Google Maps or even Google Earth to get a visual and see where it is in the world. It's a great way to start dreaming about a potential trip!
BRETT — Google review
The Underground River is truly an incredible experience! It’s a unique place that is very well taken care of. We stayed in Sabang at Dabdab Hotel, where our host booked this tour for us. It cost 2000 pesos, which I find quite cheap considering what an extraordinary experience it was. From the port in Sabang, we took a boat to the island where the entrance to the cave with the river is located. The ride took about 20 minutes, and we were given life jackets already on the boat. On the island, we received helmets and then walked for about 5 minutes along a path to the small boats that take you inside the cave. The path leads through the forest, but it is well maintained, flat, and easy. There are also restrooms on the island. When boarding and leaving both boats, you have to step into the water, so I recommend wearing shorts and flip-flops or water shoes. Before entering the cave, you can see monkeys. Inside the cave, everyone gets headphones with an audio guide. The boat ride on the river inside the cave takes about 40 minutes. It is dark and quiet, with only the guide’s flashlight providing light as he paddles. There are lots of bats, and occasionally a few drops of water drip from the ceiling. Altogether, the trip from Sabang and back took around 2.5 hours, including waiting for boats and for the other participants. Our visit was in August, and while reviews mention that in peak season the wait can be much longer, we barely had to wait at all.

This place is indescribably beautiful. To see this natural wonder is one of the best things to do in any visit to the Philippines. The visit comes with an audio guide so as not to disturb the ecology and wildlife, while he boatman points out the features of interest in sync with the narrator. Amazing experience. Just watch out for the monkeys and bring insect repellent for the mosquitoes.

Honda Bay is a picturesque and popular destination in Puerto Princesa City, offering exciting boat tours to its small islands, sand bars, and snorkeling areas. The bay is home to stunning attractions like Starfish Island, Cowrie Island, and Luli Island where visitors can immerse themselves in the azure waters. Additionally, Iwahig River offers a magical firefly-watching experience for nature enthusiasts.
We visited 3 islands in the Honda Bay Island hopping tour. They are all beautiful. This is one of the attractions one can do in Puerto Princesa. If you have your own snorkel and aqua shoes ( we didn't need them) , bring them with you. The tour operators don't tell you in advance that you might need them. They point you to rental shops prior to boarding the tour boat.

Honda Bay is one of the most popular destinations in Puerto Princesa — a great option for travelers who want a convenient island-hopping experience without venturing too far from the city. Just about 30–40 minutes from the city proper, it’s perfect for a day trip packed with snorkeling, swimming, and beach relaxation. A typical Honda Bay tour includes stops at Pambato Reef, Luli Island, and Cowrie Island — each offering something different. • Pambato Reef is a designated snorkeling area with a floating turtle-shaped platform. It’s a great place for beginners to get a safe, close-up view of tropical fish and coral (though some parts of the reef show wear from tourism). • Luli Island is a sandbar that appears and disappears with the tide, making it a unique and photogenic stop. • Cowrie Island is the most developed, with facilities for eating, lounging, and swimming — a nice place to end the tour and relax. Tour packages are generally affordable and include boat transfers, entrance fees, and sometimes a simple lunch. Guides are friendly and make sure everyone’s safe and enjoying the trip. Some downsides to be aware of: • The area can get crowded, especially during peak tourist season. • Corals and marine life at Pambato Reef are decent but not as vibrant as in more remote parts of Palawan. • Food options on the islands are limited — good enough for a casual lunch but not a highlight. Pros: • Convenient and beginner-friendly island-hopping • Calm beaches, good for swimming and relaxing • Great introduction to snorkeling at Pambato Reef • Perfect for families, groups, and short visits Cons: • Can be crowded during peak hours • Some reef areas need environmental care • Basic facilities and food options Overall: Honda Bay is a great way to enjoy the beauty of Palawan without going too far from the city. It’s not the most pristine experience, but for the time, price, and convenience, it offers a relaxing and fun tropical getaway — especially for first-time visitors.

The Port is currently under renovation and construction. I'll update the photos soon. The location is basically a port, used and within range of the locals boat parking area. And a coordinate parking where you can travel to different islands. You have to pay and do a forum if your going island hopping at their headquarters of the City which is also located in the area. They also provide different gear such as scuba goggles, life vests and more. The water is a little, foggy and unclear. Mostly there are a lot of locals here where they go fishing at the plastic floating platform where the boats are parked. Overall the place is not bad, glad they did a clean up where the place is much more cleaner and safer. 7/10

Cowrie Island is a popular stop on the Honda Bay island-hopping tour. It offers fine white sand, clear blue waters, and opportunities for beach activities and relaxation. Visitors can sip fresh coconut juice, take envy-worthy beach photos, swim, snorkel, and enjoy amenities such as a restaurant, bar, henna tattoo services, and massage options. However, guests should be cautious of jellyfish in the area.
During our cruise boat excursion, we had the chance to visit Cowrie Island, a tropical paradise near Puerto Princesa, Palawan. Known for its white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and laid-back atmosphere, the island provided the perfect escape for relaxation and exploration. As we arrived, we were greeted by swaying palm trees and inviting beachfront cabanas. The island’s small size made it easy to explore, and we found plenty of shaded areas to unwind while enjoying the cool ocean breeze. The shoreline was stunning, with gentle waves lapping against the sand, making it ideal for wading and soaking up the sun. While we chose to relax on the beach, other visitors from our group went snorkeling and reported that the coral viewing was excellent. They described colorful reefs teeming with marine life, making it a great spot for those interested in underwater exploration. For non-snorkelers like us, the island still offered plenty to enjoy, including beachside dining with fresh seafood and refreshing coconut drinks. The island had a relaxed, uncrowded feel, making it a perfect getaway from the busy mainland. Whether you want to snorkel, swim, or simply unwind on a beautiful beach, Cowrie Island is a fantastic destination. I highly recommend visiting for a peaceful and scenic retreat. Even without snorkeling, the stunning views, warm waters, and tranquil vibe made this a memorable stop on our cruise excursion.
Sigmon W — Google review
Cowrie Island is a beautiful and well-maintained destination. The island is clean, and the food provided was excellent, making the experience even more enjoyable. The waters are crystal clear, perfect for swimming and relaxing. However, one thing that should be improved is visitor awareness of marine life. There are plenty of starfishes around the island, but unfortunately, we saw guests lifting and throwing them, which was really sad. It would be great to have signage reminding visitors not to touch or disturb marine animals to help protect them and preserve the island's ecosystem. Overall, our stay was wonderful, and with a little more focus on conservation efforts, it could be even better for both guests and marine life.
Ma. A — Google review
Cowrie Island is usually the final and most relaxing stop on the Honda Bay island-hopping tour — and for good reason. Among the islands in the area, it’s the most developed, with decent facilities like cottages, restrooms, dining areas, and massage huts, making it ideal for resting and enjoying a lazy afternoon by the beach. The shoreline is wide and clean, with plenty of space to swim, lounge, or just hang out under a nipa hut. There are food and drink options on-site, and you can buy snacks, grilled meals, or drinks (some tour packages already include lunch here). There are also areas for volleyball and even some water activities depending on the season. While it’s great for groups and families, it’s not perfect: • The water is calm but not very clear, especially if there are a lot of boats and swimmers. • It can get crowded, especially during peak tourist hours or weekends. • Marine life here is minimal, so don’t expect good snorkeling — it’s more for relaxing than exploring underwater. Still, the overall vibe is laid-back, and the convenience of having restrooms, food, and shade makes Cowrie Island a comfortable stop for travelers looking to unwind. Pros: • Best facilities among Honda Bay islands • Spacious, clean beach area • Food, drinks, and shaded huts available • Great for families and groups Cons: • Not ideal for snorkeling • Can be crowded during peak hours • Water is not as clear compared to less-developed islands Overall: Cowrie Island is a solid, relaxing stop on the Honda Bay tour. It may not offer the most pristine waters, but its comfort and convenience make it a good place to end your island-hopping day on a chill note.

Part of Honda Bay Island Hopping Tour but you can actually purchase a ticket for this island without going to the others. Nicest island out of the 3 tour destination. If you one person, you should purchase the tour from an agency. If you are more than one person, purchae on your own, you can save 50% or more on the tour. I was with my friend and purchased the tour through a travel agency. Found out cheaper to purchase on your own when we got to the boat. I would have saved 50% on the two of us vs an agency. Nice beach area. Island has a restaurant and restrooms.
Dami S — Google review
The island is really beautiful. Snorkeling is okay, although there are fewer fish and corals compared to other Honda Bay islands. The sandbar is wide, which is a great feature. A few important things to note: the rinse water on the island is also saltwater, which is understandable given the location. Some cottages are free to use, while others are not. Fresh buko (coconut) is available for only ₱60, which is quite affordable.

I lived in Palawan for six years, yet I had never visited a place quite like this. Last March 2025, my co-workers and I traveled from Iloilo to Palawan and finally decided to explore the islands. As we sailed closer, we could already see the island from afar—glistening and inviting, surrounded by fine, white sand that shimmered in the sunlight. The sea was crystal-clear and incredibly clean, revealing the pristine white seabed beneath. As we stepped off the boat, the soft sand felt like powdered flour under our feet. Roaming around the island, we saw people enjoying the full range of amenities it had to offer. For those seeking rest, there were peaceful spots under the trees along the shore, perfect for lying back beneath the tropical leaves. The gentle sea breeze, the chirping of hummingbirds, and the stunning view of the sea and mountains—seemingly touching the sky—created a magical moment where time seemed to slow down. Cowrie Island in Palawan is truly an unforgettable paradise. ❤️❤️❤️

Hundred Caves, located in Puerto Princesa, was discovered in the 1990s and is managed by the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development. The cave system features narrow maze-like passages with interconnected and multi-storied layouts that provide an exciting adventure for cave explorers. Visitors can expect to learn about the rock and mineral formations dating back millennia while being introduced to the thriving wildlife within the caves.
One of the massive highlights of our trip! This place is not well advertised and we just dropped in as we drove past. What a great decision. You’ll get muddy and wet but you crawl through tight spaces and up and down slippery ladders. It’s spectacular with little regard for what many travellers would consider “western” health and safety. But that’s half the fun of it. Get down and dirty with the locals and love it while you’re at it. Can’t recommend it enough. We’d do it again. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

This is a hidden gem. You can go there on your own. We hired a tricycle to take us there and wait for us for about $5. We were the only ones there, and we each had our guide. There is an expert and a non-expert route. We chose the non-expert route. The guides shared the history of the caves and there were some tight spots but doable. It was very hot in there so bring water. It definitely had the descent movie vibe but absolutely amazing.

Went in with no expectations and was so delighted with the experience. Our guide was very informative and the caves had lots of beautiful things to see - we did the ‘easy’ tour which was 45mins but not overly easy there was some scrambling and a few interesting ladders to climb and planks to walk across - made it even more interesting… better than the Janolan caves in Australia - don’t miss it!

I have been too many caves all over the united states. this is the most rugged cave i've ever been in. headlamps only and an hour and a half walk through the caves. up stairs through tight passages. If you weigh over 160 lbs you may have trouble squeezing through a couple of the tight spots, Ask your guide if you can make it, he's the best one to judge. In other reviews people took the easy tour. make the extra effort and go for the extreme tour. i'm 69 years old and i made it just fine

One of the best experiences we’ve had exploring a cave first hand! Rare opportunity to step into scary spaces and really get your feet and hands wet, all in a good way. I love that there is a partner tour guide watching the last persons back and making sure everyone is safe. Really the only hard part is going UPHILL. The group of people who run this are truly nice and know their stuff. They provide Croc shoes that are waterproof and gloves for touching walls and rails. They have helmets with flashlights. Disclaimer: 1) Come Hydrated 2) Bring extra clothes, it gets muddy. 2) Bring lots of water 3) Bring a lot of snacks and food since the area is remote with not alot of chain restaurants nor food stops.

Only wows. The underground river had nothing on this tour. Prepare for an adventure! Put on a hard hat with light, protective gloves (all provided), and enter the caves. Climb up to the mountain, enter the caves, step through narrow spaces, all in the pitch black but for the light on your head (... okay, and the guides'). Stel on slippery rocks, climb down and up ladders, go over small walkways over the water, and, depending the water level, wade a bit!(We got water up our ankles as it rained a lot last week, but if there was just a torrent of rain, that could rise!) The guides were very helpful. My 7 year old didn't want to get wet so was carried over the water, but at no moment did she get tired as there was a constant stream of views, climbs, twists and turns to keep her fully engaged. My 8 year old happily trundled in the water as a true cave explorer. Cannot recommend more unless you're afraid of small spaces, a bit of dirt, water, or have issues moving and climbing around. If you have those, do the river tour.

Hiking area
Nestled in the lush jungle of Sabang, Pyamaluguan Sabang Waterfall offers a serene escape from urban life. A half-hour walk from the marina leads to this 50-foot cascade ending in a small pool overlooking the ocean. Its unique location on the beach makes it an Instagram-worthy spot. The path is rocky, so sturdy footwear is recommended for the journey.
It was a good hike from four points to here. We walked along the beach line passed on some neighborhood area. The entrance was 150php. The water goes directly to the sea.
Anna E — Google review
Google Maps will take you to the spot where the entrance fee is collected. The fee was 150 pesos. From there, you walk along the rocks by the sea. The path is flat, but the rocks can be tricky if you’re wearing flip-flops — still, it’s doable if you’re careful. It took about 20 minutes on foot to reach the waterfall. I was there in August, and the waterfall was really huge. Beneath it, there’s a small pool where you can take a dip, but it’s very small, so you can’t really swim there. It’s a very beautiful place and absolutely worth the money. I recommend it!

Waterfalls are very small in dry season, but it's still nice to see. 30 minutes walk from the pier's parking on an easy to follow path. I would suggest to wear proper shoes for easier walk through rocks. I've read on other reviews that entrance fee was 150 (which i found already overpriced), but the lady asked for 200.. i told her i was 150 online and gave me discount.

Pambato Reef is a renowned snorkeling spot in Honda Bay, featuring a floating platform where visitors can dive into the ocean. Before taking the plunge, tourists receive a briefing on marine ecology and conservation. It's part of the popular Honda Bay tour that includes visits to Luli Island, Starfish Island, and Cowrie Island. The area is also ideal for diving with various dive sites nearby. While cruising around the bay, keep an eye out for dolphins, turtles, and rays.
A great spot for swimming and feeding fish in their natural habitat. Quite crowded but there's plenty of space and time for you to enjoy the fish there. Remember to bring some bread with you for the fish. Overall score: 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Adam K — Google review
Pambato Reef is the coolest place in Honda Bay to go swimming and snorkeling on top of a floating platform over a coral reef. Your tour van will make a pit stop at a store where can rent snorkeling masks (php150) and swim shoes (php150), floats and buy sunblock and snacks before heading to the pier. You need to return them after using them.
Victoria M — Google review
Pambato Reef, has long been a beloved snorkeling and diving destination in Honda Bay, even prior to the pandemic. I've been here twice before when there was a bigger floating platform adorned with a remarkable giant turtle on its roof, and when there were floating boardwalks that can accommodate hundred of guests simultaneously. However, on our recent visit, I noticed that only one platform remained, and we were fortunate enough to arrive before any other guests, even at late hours like past 7 AM. Nevertheless, it still stands as the premier snorkeling site in Honda Bay. The variety of fish in the reef appears to have multiplied over time. Although the water was not crystal clear, the fish were still easily visible and identifiable. It was a delightful experience to return to this reef and witness its continued role as a fish sanctuary. There is an assortment of corals, albeit in limited quantities, as well as various species of fish. I only explored from the surface of the water and was fortunate to see a great deal. However, I couldn't help but imagine the wonders that awaited had I been braver, more skillful and ventured deeper into the underwater precipice, where well-preserved coral reefs, clams, and larger fish may reside. Pambato Reef charges a modest entrance fee of 50 pesos, and I highly recommend including it as a mandatory stop during your island-hopping tour in Honda Bay.

The water here is murky and the corals were all damaged from the previous typhoon. I hope the government can rehabilitate this area. What a let down for snorkeling. There’s a lot of fishes though. This is the best snorkeling are among the 3 islands. The hottest as well since there’s only few shade and intended for small group of people, it can get crowded if there’s flock of people.

Pambato Reef is a great snorkeling destination in Puerto Princesa Bay, especially for first-timers or those who want a safe and guided marine experience without venturing too far from the city. It’s a popular stop included in Honda Bay island-hopping tours, and for good reason. The reef is marked by a large floating platform shaped like a giant turtle, which serves as both a staging area and a resting spot for visitors. From here, you can jump straight into the clear waters where you’ll find colorful corals, clams, and a variety of tropical fish. The area is roped off for safety, and life vests are usually required, making it very family-friendly and beginner-friendly. What makes Pambato Reef stand out is its accessibility. Unlike more advanced dive spots, you don’t need to be an experienced snorkeler to enjoy it. The water is generally calm and shallow, and the guides are attentive and helpful. However, it’s not without some drawbacks: • Some sections of the reef show signs of damage, likely due to heavy tourist activity over the years. • The area can get crowded depending on the season and tour groups. • You might not see as much marine life compared to deeper or more remote reefs in Palawan. Still, it’s a fun and educational stop, especially for those who want to get a close-up look at Palawan’s underwater life without doing a full dive or long boat ride. Pros: • Easy access and beginner-friendly snorkeling • Clear, calm waters with colorful marine life • Unique floating turtle-shaped platform • Guides ensure safety and assist first-timers Cons: • Some coral damage due to tourism • Can be crowded during peak season • Marine life diversity is moderate compared to remote dive sites Overall: Pambato Reef is a solid snorkeling spot if you’re in Puerto Princesa and want a quick, safe, and enjoyable glimpse into Palawan’s underwater world. It’s ideal for families, kids, and anyone new to snorkeling — just don’t expect a world-class dive experience.

Napsan Beach is a hidden gem offering an unspoiled natural shoreline, making it perfect for those seeking a secluded beach adventure. While it may be a bit challenging to access, the effort is worth it for the stunning white sand beaches and rocky areas where visitors can enjoy the crashing waves. The beach provides a serene and uncrowded environment, ideal for relaxation and capturing panoramic photos for social media.
Great unspoiled all natural seashore. A little hard to get to definitely off the beaten path. Do not go here if you're looking for a developed amusement park By the sea. I suggest you bring. Food for a picnic and towels to dry off. And perhaps a change of clothes for the ride home and enjoy the beauty and serenity that only nature can offer. This beach offers both white sand beach and rocks to climb on and enjoy the waves crashing over.I did not see many shells or any starfish or sea life. But that doesn't mean there isn't any there at different times of the day or of the year. It is a little over an hour ride from Porto princesa city to get here. the last 200 m or so is only safely accessible by a 4 wheel drive vehicle or a motorcross motorcycle. Or maybe a maxi scooter if you are a seasoned rider. Otherwise you need to walk it to be safe.

Beautiful natural beach with rocks to climb on along with shade trees.

Too far from the main south road,. But good tho for those who loves the road trip with motorcycle..😅 Nice spot was the rocky side, and bad also because of sand mosquitos. Bring repellent

All can say nice beautiful inside and out

The best beach about two hours away from puerto princesa city.
Samwell C — Google review
Not crowded. Clean Water. Beware of the sand mites tho.

Embark on the Jungle Trail, a 5 km-long path that leads back to Sabang village from the underground river. As you traverse through dense forests and karst limestone formations, be prepared for breathtaking views of the natural surroundings. Look out for wild long-tailed macaques along the way. Alternatively known as the Monkey Trail, this route offers an alternative way to reach the Underground River.
(Translated by Google) The jungle trail is open again!! I made it myself yesterday. It was a great hike (about 2.5 to 3 hours), take enough water with you!! Otherwise not difficult. Super great trail through the rainforest, really worth it! Had a great guide!
Bernhard L — Google review
The jungle trail is closed. Is abandoned after the typhoon. Is possible to walk under your own risk.
Andrés U — Google review
After finishing the Subterranean visit decided to go for the Jungle trail back to sabang 3.5 km, what a surprise the guide simply didn't said a word. Probably he doesn't speak English, how can he be a guide. Heard few noises but didn't see a single animal. Paid 200 PH. What a flop?

It's closed so. Real shame, because it would be a great trail
