Outdoor Activities
Spiaggia di Porto Giunco is a stunning beach located in the southeast coast of Sardinia, Italy. It features fine white sand and calm, incredibly blue waters that merge with the sky. The beach is famous for its pink hues derived from granite fragments and is home to a population of pink flamingos in the nearby lagoon. This tropical-like beach has been recognized as one of the most beautiful in Italy and has served as a backdrop for commercials and films due to its picturesque colors.
Beautiful beach, with crystal, calm water and beautiful landscape. The only downside is the parking which cost 10 euro visiting at the end of September . But I can see the appeal. It must be really crowded during the summer which would put people off.
Ana T — Google review
The water is absolutely paradise, but the beach is way too crowded, which makes it hard to fully enjoy. Only paid showers are available, and parking costs 10 €. There are definitely better options for beaches on the island if you’re looking for a more relaxing experience.
Xlavimell — Google review
Superb place, incredible beautiful water colors, a type of beach where you can enjoy all day, plus find good food & drinks for decent prices on the beach. As well suitable for all kids who can play in the water safely.
George L — Google review
by far our favorite beach in villasimius area after visiting a few of them!! the water is perfectly crystal clear with no seaweed and we thought there was plenty of room, not as crowded as other beaches!!
Sierra W — Google review
Great beach, lots of sand and nice water. Beautiful Cliffs around this beach. Unless you want to walk a ways it does cost $6-10 euros to park close, and $25 euros to get an umbrella by the beach. Has a bar and some food also.
Marty M — Google review
The water of the sea is really clear and crystal, the sea is amazing! The beach is overall okey because there’s not much facilities like toilets (there’s only one public toilet which is 50 cent) or shower. The beach clubs are extremely expensive. There are 3 of them, two of them are offering 2 beds and 1 umbrella nearly 40 euros, but it’s impossible to find places after 13:00. Also, the Delfino beach club is crazy expensive like 2 sunbeds with big umbrella is 180 euro (the normal umbrella ones are already sold out after 13:00). If you have your own beach blanket to sit and umbrella, recommend to go there! One more thing: parking for a car costs 10 euro.
Derya K — Google review
Very nice beach but the parking is 10€ even if you want to stay an hour. I don’t think it was worth it to be honest. The kiosks around are terrible and the chairs and umbrellas extremely overpriced.
Greendelulu — Google review

Public beach
Spiaggia del Riso, also known as The Rice Beach due to the shape of its sand grains, is a popular spot in Villasimius. This beach is part of the Protected Marine Area of Capo Carbonara and offers a picturesque setting with clear waters and unique rock formations. Visitors can explore stone age tombs carved into the rock face and various landmarks in the surrounding village.
It is a beautiful area, however very crowded and busy. Better beaches elsewhere that are free.
Lesley H — Google review
Clearest water and not so crowded!
Gabriel N — Google review
Spiaggia del riso is a small beach in an amazing area of south Sardinia. Good position for exploring the rest of the area, where you can find beaches more beautiful than spiaggia del riso :)
Valentina L — Google review
Small but very nice beach, normally the water is calmer than on other beaches nearby since it is in a sheltered location.
Massimo B — Google review
Beautiful location. The menu & food is small but very nice & fresh. Totally recommendation to this point. The service was aweful and there is much potential. My first course & aperitiv came together. The first course of my bf came after I finished. We were offered the dessert menu only to have it taken away two minutes later by another waiter. ( and yes I tried to order dessert & coffee like the second bottle of water I had to ask for three times ). I know we looked aweful in sports attire, all sweaty and to be rejected due to our dress would have been totally fine. Still we spent 80,00 for an easy lunch and would have loved to spend more. But to mess up our lunch with bad service, ignoring us, bringing food seperate and actually not serving us anymore after some point: disappointing. I just hope you all had a bad day and that this is not the everyday situation. Would definately give it another try.
Blåckfisk _ — Google review
Beautiful sheltered bay and beach with shallow, crystal clear water perfect for small kids to play.

It’s great, there is a camping nearby. Small beach, you can walk by the rocks to find another small beach

Historic Sites
Nestled in the stunning landscape of Villasimius, the Torre di Porto Giunco is a captivating 16th-century watchtower that once stood guard against pirates and invaders. This historical landmark not only reflects the region's rich military past but also offers visitors breathtaking panoramic views of the coastline and surrounding areas. The trek to reach this iconic tower is an adventure in itself, taking about 20 minutes from Porto Giunco beach or Cava di Usai.
Very easy & nice hike with stunning view on top. Takes about 20 minutes to get up (take the trail on your right after the small house - it's the far more convenient one). Would recommend to rather go up around sunrise than for sunset (both are beautiful), as you might be lucky to have the tower all for yourself. During the day is also great, sunshade & water is recommended. Parking costs 5 Euro, but you can also access the beautiful sand beaches & swim/snorkel in cristal clear water.
Bernd W — Google review
Great hike up the cliffs, coming from Capo Carbonara. Worth the climb. The torre is closed for visits. But stunning panoramic view from above.
Jurgen T — Google review
A beautiful hike with a breathtaking view. Easy to reach from both parking Parcheggio Porto Giunco and Cala Catarina. Must be nice to watch the sunset.
Yu K — Google review
Relatively straight forward hike that was easily worth it… What a view! I’d bring water, and wear shoes (although we saw many people in flip flops from the beach)
Marcello S — Google review
The beach was very beautiful, however the parking is not free and you need to pay for the whole day. We were just discovering the area and did not want to pay for an hour, so we did not stay. It was also crowded. It was not even the season yet, so I'm guessing it only gets more crowded. I would recommend Costa Rei beaches like Piscina Rei, they are just as beautiful but less crowded.
Yeşim Ç — Google review
Awesome place with a great view Prepare for a long hike though. It is some time to get there but as stated in the headline, the view is more than worht it. You'll be able to see not only Spiaggia di Porto Giunco but also Cava Usai, the near by Flamingo Lake and the islands around
Sascha ( — Google review
Worth a visit - only 10 euros to park for the day and a very easy 10 minute hike to the tower. Stop at the Spiaggia Torre Vecchia on the way back down - it is a beautiful little beach with lots of fish and shade if you want it. We spent a few hours there, so the parking was worth it!
Foodie O — Google review
A beautiful location overlooking Villasimius and beautiful beaches. The exit to the tower is not difficult. If you visit Villasimius, definitely go here.

Beach
Pullman Timi Ama is a stunning and unique beach located between Campus and Porto Giunco in Villasimius. The landscape is characterized by mountains in the background, calm waters of the Notteri pond on the left, and vibrant Mediterranean vegetation adorning the dunes. Families with young children are drawn to this beach due to its shallow waters.
The resort is big and well equipped. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Room is spacious, breakfast has wide choices, food at the restaurants is delicious, pool is nice, service is good and the beach is AMAZING! The water is crystal clear! The beach is actually just less than 10-min-walk, but the hotel arranges frequent shuttle, which is ideal for lazy people like us 😂 The Spa is also very lovely, we especially like the circle flow at the salty warm pool. My husband and I had a wonderful 8-day-holiday there.
Cristie H — Google review
Beautiful beach. Water is pristine and the sand is soft. What more could you ask for
Vlada S — Google review
One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at and we’ve been to a few, sandals in the Caribbean included. I would say the pullman matches all of these, and Sardinia is absolutely stunning
Andrew W — Google review
Nice beach, but too crowded in August. Sunbeds and umbrellas prices are astronomical
Oleksandr T — Google review
Five star hotel that has a lot to offer. Starting with professional staff, continues with very comfortable rooms, especially beds, large swimming pool area, one of the most beautiful beaches on the island and delicious cuisine. And so much more. The area also offers many interesting places to see, so I can only recommend it for a perfect vacation.
Kamila Č — Google review

Marcel S — Google review
Beautiful beach and rock formations! It gets busy so worth walking to the far end near the rocks where it’s also mire sheltered from the breeze. Highly recommend!
Anna G — Google review
(Not sure why this place doesn’t show the name Dolphin club as it is where the pin on the map is, but anyway) First day we came here we were a bit overwhelmed by the prices (€55 for 2ppl/day) but it was so worth it that we came back the next day too. Super comfortable sun beds and probably the biggest parasols in entire Villasimius. Possible to pay by card for sun beds and at the cafe. You also get access to a toilet by the beach (leaving either €20 in cash or your ID). Felt safe leaving our belongings on our sun beds while swimming in paradise ☀️

(Translated by Google) Beautiful Museum. The employee who introduced me to the route was friendly, kind and knowledgeable. The Museum was structured in a clear and easy to learn way for the curious visitor. The finds are very close and wonderfully preserved. Such evident details are not found in other exhibitions. You can see the passion for the History of one's own land. I leave the Museum truly enriched. Thank you. (Original) Bellissimo Museo. Esco dal Museo veramente arricchito. Grazie.

(Translated by Google) Very nice museum, it's definitely worth it to discover something about the area, beyond just tourism. Nice exhibits, especially the last room with the video and exhibits from the Cabbage Island ship. The single ticket for 5 euros is especially recommended to also visit the fortress and the sea museum. It would be nice to add something ethnographic since a typical house hosts the museum. We loved it, definitely one of the most interesting places in Villasimius.

Nestled along the southeastern coast of Sardinia, Punta Molentis Beach is a stunning destination that captivates visitors with its unique charm. This picturesque spot features a striking contrast between the soft white sands and the vibrant blue and turquoise waters, creating an idyllic setting reminiscent of tropical paradises. The beach's horseshoe shape is framed by granite rocks and lush Mediterranean vegetation, offering both relaxation and adventure for those who visit.
1st of May, more crowded than we hoped for, but still very nice experience. Water was cold, it's still spring, however we went in several times. Colors of water are incredible. Definitely worth visiting during off season
Ivan I — Google review
Not worth it! Paying 15 euro for parking, and another optional 35 euro for renting an umbrella with loungers. The beach is nice but overfilled with people and there is confined space where you can swim, and the rest of the beach is reserved for boats. In Sardinia are much better and nicer places to see for free.
Petr D — Google review
Great looking beach with 2 different environment, on one side you have the sand, on the other side rocks and deep blue sea. On the sandy side you have a hint of pink sand. The only negative part is that it’s about crowded, even now end of June. Other thing is that significant part of the beach is reserved for boats.
Barnabás B — Google review
Simply a magnificent beach. Snow-white sand, clear sea, magnificent views. You can see many different fish in the water. The downside is that there are no sun loungers, and they charge €15 for parking. Although there are no services on the beach.
Ramina — Google review
Fantastic beach with differing aspects - You have the sandy beach (which is quite busy), and the pebble beach (which is pretty deserted). The pebble beach has a lovely cliff-top walk that lets you look down over both beaches. The parking is about 7EUR (I think), but gets you free parking for the whole day throughout Villasimius. There are a couple of bar/snack shacks as well if you need refreshments.
Paul M — Google review
One side was clean and has no waves... perfect for babies and other side has many dirt... so the clean side was really good. Has parking and 3-4 mins walking to reach the beach. There is tape water before leaving to the parking to clean ur feet from sand
Ola G — Google review
Beautiful sandy beach, but too crowded even in June during weekdays. Parking 15€/day.
Đorđe G — Google review
Even in September it’s best to arrive early if you want to secure your ideal spot, as it can get quite crowded. The beach itself is very beautiful, with clear water that’s great for snorkeling and plenty of space once you’re in the sea.

Beaches
Spiaggia di Campus is a popular beach in Villasimius, Sardinia, known for its long stretch of golden sand and shallow, calm waters. It's a great spot for families with children as the water is shallow and safe for swimming. The beach can get crowded during the summer months due to its popularity as one of the best sheltered beaches in the area. Surrounding the beach is a picturesque Sardinian scenery with a pine forest providing shade from the summer sun.
Beautiful beach. Perfect sand. Goes from shallow to deep gradually. No rocks. Easy to access. Highly recommend
Salman A — Google review
Recommendation from my airbnb host who also runs the delicious restaurant on the beach. Quiet beach, not crowded in September, water as clear as if it had come out of the tap, big fish right up at the shore line. Exquisite day. Under rated by a long way but probably not for long. Free parking too! Best beach day I’ve had in years. Bring your own drinks and snacks as the restaurant is only open 12-2 and then again in the evening.
Philippa P — Google review
Great beach. Public part is very small but snorkeling was amazing. We saw small moray eels and lots of cool fish. Free parking in the dirt lot across the street.
Rich N — Google review
beautiful beach that was nearly empty when we visited at 10am
Linus — Google review
Great sand beach, not too busy even in the main season, you should bring an umbrella since you can’t hire one. No parking fee!
David — Google review
Majority of the beach is taken up by umbrellas owned by the hotel. I think the beach and water in front of these must also be owned by the hotels as the lifeguard asked us to move from a place in the water that was directly in front of the umbrellas. Strange as it is off season and there were only about 5 umbrellas being used and no one in the water. Although this beach has nice sand and calm water there are plenty of other lovely beaches around the area that don't have any restrictions on use of space in the sea.
Epster — Google review

We visited this with our three kids, and it was a fun short trip. They had a scavenger hunt for kids which ended with a prize. Cala Porto Giunco is a small, dazzling cove located near the larger beaches of Spiaggia di Capo Carbonara and Spiaggia di Porto Giunco. It offers great shore snorkeling, with companies in Villasimius offering boat tours to reach nearby attractions like the Madonna del Naufrago sculpture near Isola dei Cavoli. Although it can get crowded, the beach's clear waters and white sand make it a dreamy spot for swimming and snorkeling.
Beautiful but nothing spectacular in my opinion, it’s just a beach, yes to have such a place in Europe it’s nice but to be comparable to the Caribbean it has to be more than just a beach, also in spring the water is too cold to swim.
Tashi — Google review
Beautiful beach, but it became extremely crowded… if you need a calm moment and some privacy, that’s definitely not a place to go in the season. Besides that, water is crystal clear and I highly recommend to climb the tower nearby to see an amazing view!

Want to enjoy a really special ‘spiaggia’? Go to Spiaggia Torre Porto Giunco, but come here as early as possible. Otherwise there isn’t space available anymore and you have to get back to the big crowded beach. Thereby, the big beach is loaded with lots of kelp, bluh. This little beach is reachable quite easily but be aware of the slippery rocks. Snorkeling is fun here as well. Ciao!

Stagno di Notteri is a stunning blue-water lagoon and beach that attracts visitors for swimming, snorkeling, and the chance to see flamingos. The area also features an ancient fortress turned museum of archeology, a pond where pink flamingos can be spotted, a granitic tower with panoramic views (Torre di Porto Giunco), two protected islands (Isola dei Cavoli e Serpentara), and a historic granite extraction cave (Cava Usai).

Italian restaurant
La Lanterna Ristorante Pizzeria is a top dining spot in Villasimius, offering panoramic views and excellent service. The restaurant's location provides a peaceful setting away from the bustling center, yet remains easily accessible. Guests rave about the well-prepared dishes such as mussels, octopus, seafood pasta, crab pasta with rich sauce, and delectable tiramisu. The attentive staff adds to the overall dining experience by providing friendly and knowledgeable service.
The best food and service we had in the area by far. We were here for lunch and booked straight away for dinner the same day. The menu offers some dishes not found in all the other restaurants too. Always great to walk away very satisfied!
Ralph W — Google review
Delicious but beware if you are not Italian. They clearly took advantage and over charged us by giving us the fish of the day for 2 - 3 people when we ordered specifically for one person. This resulted in a €66 euro dish after we explicitly said many times in Italian that the fish was too big and we only wanted it for one person. It was clear they were trying to upsell us to get a higher bill. I am not sure if this was because we were not Italian but it is a shame because otherwise, the food is good. We may be foreigners but we live in Italy and have for many years and speak very fluent Italian, therefore if you don’t speak Italian, I would run in the opposite direction. We definitely won’t be coming back.

Beaches
Spiaggia di Porto Sa Ruxi is a stunning bay located between Capo Boi and Campus Beach, featuring three small beaches with fine white sand and protected by low rocks. The beach is framed by fascinating cliffs, providing shelter from the mistral wind. It is surrounded by Mediterranean scrub and offers shallow turquoise waters perfect for swimming.
Among the beaches of Villasimius this is the one I personally preferred, it is made up of three small coves, the sand and water are excellent. Reservations are recommended but not required, at 9am on a weekday there were no problems getting in. Car parking costs €10 per day but with the same ticket you can park at all the other beaches in the municipality but not in the urban parkings of the village. If you move to Punta Molentis beach you have to pay an extra 1€ per person, but this beach in its sandy part is smaller, however in low season on weekdays it is possible to access it without reservation.
Fabio R — Google review
Beautiful sandy beach, but with a lot of seaweed. There were waves. It was not crowded, parking 12 €/day.
Đorđe G — Google review
Loved this place. Parking if come early is available right in the bottom. 12€ per day. Great view from the top and stunning on the beach itself. Was a bit windy which made sun bathing a bit tricky but the rest was amazing. On the entrance to parking we were asked if we have a reservation but we hadn’t. It was around 8:30 in the morning and we were able to get in no problem.

Beautiful beach among the best in Villasimius. Three small sandy coves with shallow turquoise water. Parking is 10 Euros a day, and there's limited availability, though.
Jennifer C — Google review
Absolutely incredible beach. Perfect for families with small children given the shallow water areas. Staff at the private beach are also great. I would suggest the private beach since they have lifeguards on duty and watch carefully for children and watercraft. Reserve a gazebo if you want to feel like royalty without the royal cost. Get there early for parking though or you'll have a slight hike getting to the beach.

The park has free parking with a mobile truck-kiosk for fast refreshments/sandwiches, which makes it ideal for small groups or couples looking for a relaxing getaway.
Very nice beach in Villasimius! Super clean water, sandy beach. Crystal clear 🩵 It is also protective from the wind because even though the weather was windy and it was silenced at the beach. So on a windy day, it can save the day! It is less known than others in the town, and I think it makes it better since it is not crowded at all. 10 min away (walking) from the bus stop “capo boi”, if you are coming buy bus. The line 101 from ARST come here. I attach the return hours. We took the bus from the Cagliari bus station, and the bus tickets can be directly bought from there. Keep in mind that there are no places to buy water/food or anything. So you have to come prepared but it makes it a secluded place. I came here with my family on a wednesday on the last week of May and there were only 4-5 groups. So it is way better than the busy beaches. Very calm and peaceful. Recommended!

A small but beautiful beach where the sea is colored turquoise and sky blue with patches of deep green algae and patches of rocks. On the left of the coast line the sandy beach continues into rocky boulders with a road towards an old structure and what appears to be an old tower.

If you are looking for white Sandy beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see, bordered by iridescent water, with a lagoon full of flamingoes thrown in, this is the place for you. We drove to the end of the dirt road, somewhat of a free for all parking situation, and walked directly on the beach. There are four clubs that will rent canopies and chairs and serve drinks. Bring some coins for the toilette. In high season, expect crowds, so show up early or wait in traffic.

Stunning beach. White sand, super clean sea. Not to crowded, hard to get to by land, we go there by tour boat. Easy breeze, temperature 30 Degrees. This was our second visit, would go back any day

The beach is reachable on foot. You can park the car at the free parking place at the Campus beach. Follow the costline along the Campus beach and then take the narrow path (not the road! but the path!) - closest to the sea. It is 10min walk from the end of the Campus beach. Beach is nice, beautiful send. However, it has been turned into attractions for tourists. So, ships bring tourists to the beach. Anyhow, it is much less crowded than other braches in the area, so worth the hike :)
Ddur77 — Google review
This beach is accessible by foot, best to park at spiaggia Campus (the main parking findable on Google maps), go onto the spiaggia Campus and turn left, then after you pass the stagno, exit the beach to the left, where you will find the other second undesignated parking, at which point you will see the gate to the right, enter and start trekking up the wide path. At a certain point of climbing, bear to the right ( do not keep climbing to the left) then start descending and you will see the cove. Continue past the front drive way for the Villa, and keep going for a bit, then turn right to enter the beach on the side farthest from the villa. Not a bad hike, maybe 15-20 minutes. For me, the beach is very average, rather small and nothing out of the ordinary. So three stars, but due to the negativity from the “private” access (it is private property, an azienda agricola I believe, they have some olive trees and a vineyard in the distance), and due to the concrete villa dominating the beach at one end, I knock it down to two stars. I had a swim, but honestly there are much better beaches in the area that are more relaxing and pleasurable. I think spiaggia campus is actually better, same water quality, cleaner and wider sand. Disclaimer: I am not a troll working for the villa owner, just for me it’s not worth the journey and the negative vibe.

Important: Some of the rocks are very sharp - water shoes are recommended. When swimming along the shoreline or out a bit, be careful of strong currents! This can be dangerous, especially for inexperienced swimmers! We were there in mid/late July and were practically alone! Conclusion: Great beach with a wonderfully diverse fish population! Wichtig: Die Steine sind teilweise sehr scharf - Badeschuhe sind empfehlenswert Wenn man die Küstenlinie entlang schwimmt oder etwas heraus sollte man auf stärkere Strömungen Acht geben! Turquoise blue and clear water! Weather cleared up by the time we travelled over to this beach. The sea is so clear and you can spot baby jellyfish and small fish, the sand surface once you get past the pebbles is so soft on your feet and the water temperature is perfect. We managed to park easily as there’s parking not far from the beach near a basketball court, free of charge (September 2023), there’s not many facilities that we could see but we brought our own food and drink. Good beach for a sunset too!

The camping spaces are tiny and cramped, and there are two busy roads next to the camping, meaning noise at all times. The other campers were also very loud and rowdy until the late night hours. They make you wear a wristband to be able to walk around the campsite and the gate gets shut at midnight so you can't even reach the closest toilets. Wifi is paid extra (separately for each device!) and the quality is poor. The beach is quite close (probably the only redeeming quality) but has a weird smell coming from the harbour. Toilets are okay but weren't the cleanest and you need to pay extra for hot showers. We escaped after one night - would definitely not recommend.

Just for camping it was relatively expensive. In face of the price there was no toiletpaper or warm water. I think for families it's nice that there is an animation schedule but for coming down it's not that cool to hear all that stuff until 11:30pm (probably later). But it's clean and you have a beach very close to the campingground.

This campsite is spacious and has access to two beaches. One is a bit small, the other one near the harbor a lot better. Staff is friendly and attentive. The amenities were oke and clean but I missed simple toilet paper. And no WiFi on the campsite. It is 2022, this feels to most younger travellers as important as electricity, running water, etc. With WiFi it would be five stars.
Martijn — Google review
Really loud and you need to pay the showers extra. But it is clean. It is also really full also in the off season. So yeah to stay one night to get straight on the road again it might be ok but to go and make a week vacation here i would not recommend to do that.

Spiaggia di Is Traias is a stunning bay with a unique semicircular shape, spanning 150 meters in length and 25 meters in width. The beach is adorned with fine white sand and flanked by beautiful reefs at its ends. The shallow waters make it an ideal spot for families with children. The surrounding Mediterranean vegetation adds to the picturesque setting, shaped by the coastal winds.
My favorite beach, and the best beach bar as well.
Bennett R — Google review
Wonderfully quiet beach. Plenty of space and free parking nearby. Also a bar. As several other reviews note however, there is plenty of algae washed up. Access to water is still ok though, the main downside of the algae is a slight wiff of sulphur rotten egg. It was windy when i was here, maybe the smell is stronger in calmer conditions. On very windy days of maestrale the east coast allows you to escape.

A nice and small beach, peaceful at night.

Don't really see a reason to go here, with Simius beach is just next door. The best place in fact is just in between the two, on the rocks chilling with view on the Simius beach. If you end up here anyway, definitely go to the beach bar - it is the best part of the beach :-)
Stepan M — Google review
Beautiful and secluded beach in a cove not far from Villasimius. A little bit of seaweed does not at all disturb the experience of crystal clear water and white sand.
Werner K — Google review
Beautiful, secluded, quiet beach and a wonderful beach bar too. Can't walk to the main beach from here, but worth a visit by car.

A beautiful and secluded spot in the waters off of Naples, Santo Stefano offers visitors a unique view of the bay below. With strong east wind conditions, the bay is sheltered from much of the weather and makes for a relaxing place to explore. The water here is clear and abundant with fish and even a few moray eels.
Well the 2nd best beach in Sardinia during our 2 weeks trip (1st one being on La Maddalena beach). We arrived to Cala Caterina on a windy day, a bit cold outside at least for swimming we thought due to the wind. But seems like this one is protected from the wind cozy, nice, calm. The water is crystal clear, so many fish wandering around, exploring the swimmers… besides there were not that many people on the beach so it is a great place to relax!

Natural small but beatiful Bleach. Exposed to waves and more wind

great place for sunbathing and swimming. really nice place nearby for snorkeling
Andrei U — Google review
Stunning spot to spend the day! The clear turquoise water in a small beach providing such relaxing holidays. 🤩
Paula B — Google review
A little hard to reach from public areas as you need to climb (take proper shoes). But the beach is stunning. Good to also have swimming shoes as under water there’s shelves, mussels and at times sea urchins.
Paul M — Google review
Amazing but tiny beach of both sand and pebbles, plenty of fish for snorkeling makes the place worth the stay for a whole day. Free parking lot nearby.
Luca C — Google review
Ok beach… nice spot to watch the sunset! But that’s sort of it for me. The sand is not the nicest and it’s full of stones even when you go into the water. Minimal parking spots. There is a path from the parking lot to the beach, most of it is ok, but the last bit is uneven and full of stones, definitely not apt for a stroller for example.
Tammy P — Google review
Nice place. When the wind blows from east, it is a protected place from the bay. There are a lot of fishes and if you are lucky you can see also few moray eels.

Marine Protected Area Capo Carbonara is a stunning destination located in Villasimius, offering white-sand beaches and clear waters that are perfect for snorkeling. The area covers 86 square kilometers and includes two bays divided by the Capo Carbonara promontory. Visitors can explore the beautiful islands of Isola dei Caoli and Serpentara while also enjoying the panoramic mountainous views along the coastline.
Beautiful location with quiet spots and parking available also in shade. Very clear water, perfect for snorkeling. Recommended

Went with Fiore do Maggio boat trip. Food included. Stopovers on 2 beaches. Fun day out. Low price, and it shows, worth it over all.

Since they've made this a protected marine area the fish in the waters have started to repopulate massively. Although now they like to nibble on your feet if you're not careful

Peninsula
Cape Carbonara is a picturesque peninsula located about 50km east of Cagliari, Villasiumis. It is known for its historic structures, tranquil beaches, and trails offering stunning ocean views. The area is a popular snorkeling hotspot with great shore snorkeling spots such as Punta Molentis, Cala Porto Giunco, and Spiaggia di Simius.
Capo Carbonara (Villasimius Region) A day trip by car or motorbike to one of the top beaches in Sardinia’s South is a must, in particular during this April season. The coastal road with the breathtaking views of the blue sea (a real cote d’azur) is a must. Parked our car in a national park near some Camper Vans, but mostly quite … at most 6 vehicles. It’s been a bit windy and water very cold, but what an amazing beach and white sand dunes. Enjoyed the great sun shine hidden inside the dunes, behind the bushes where we had some refuge from the strong and cold wins. Although, entering dunes seems prohibited, but we were careful not to step onto some of the plants. The outdoor temperature was max. 18, but felt much colder. I pushed myself into the lake area where water temperate was warmer, than the sea at around 15 degrees. Basically no people except some RV campers with their children and doggies. What an amazing escape from a big city life.

Boat rental service
Boat tour agency
FAMAR VACANZE offers an excellent boat rental service suitable for families. They provide a "mini cruise" option that takes passengers down the coast towards Chia. The boat is spacious enough for up to 12 people, ensuring comfort and shade for children during hot days. Fabrizio and Alberto, the skipper, ensure everyone is well-fed and hydrated with a delicious lunch provided on board.
A brilliant day out for all members of the family. We (a family of four with two children aged 5 and 7) chose the 'mini cruise' which travelled down the coast towards Chia. The boat was ample size for a party of 12 with shade from the heat for the children. Fabrizio and Alberto (the skipper) kept us fed and watered and provided us with a wonderful lunch. We stopped regularly to swim in the azure blue seas and spent time exploring coves and (almost) private beches. A great day out at competitive pricing and highly recommeded. Furthermore Fabrizio was kind enough to bring my sunglasses to my hotel after I realised I left them on the boat.

Free car park and local beach vibes. Not always crystal clear water, depending on sea conditions. The sand is a bit coarser. Gets more sun in the evenings compared to the other beach nearby, Genn’e Mari. Enjoyable overall.
