Hello! I wanted to take the time and fill out a brief review, my family and I were just in this last weekend! You guys had some amazing exhibits!! We rather enjoyed our time here! I only give you a two star rating for the following reason! As my family of five (me, my wife, my son, my two daughters (7y and 3m) as we got onto the elevator one of your staff members, an elderly gentleman preceded to join our ride to lower floor, as he is doing so I try to position my youngest (3 months old!) daughter who is in the stroller away from this gentleman, he sees what I am trying to accomplish and proceeds to say “hold on, hold on, I’m trying to see the little one and you’re taking her away from me” and reaches out and touches her foot.. NOT AT ALL okay… red flags flew up and I let the gentleman know “ I’m trying to do so because she is only 3m old, please do not touch my baby again!” I said so very loudly so he might get the hint then, he didn’t because he then put his hand on my back trying to calm me? There is no calming down in that situation, I think some educational meeting needs to be held with all your staff members, mandatory, should be held.. it is never okay to approach someone’s child, especially so young in that way.

We were in Witchita for a few days and decided to check out this museum. Im so glad we did! It's awesome and affordable, with a huge variety of artifacts- even mummies! The Buddha exhibit was beautiful, my favorite part probably. Besides my husband and I, we also had our 16, 11, and 9 year old kids and we all found a lot that fit each of our particular interests. We definitely enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone as a great way to spend an afternoon.

Okay, World Treasures to me doesn't include an entire floor on World Wars l & ll, Korean War, and Vietnam. I expected to see treasures, one of a kind beautiful, unusual items from around the world. The first floor has these though there is a lot of pottery
Marilyn M — Google review
The museum was beyond expectations. It has a little bit of everything I've seen in larger museums. From a giant T-Rex to mummies to Roman voins to actual military grear. Everything had good descriptions and the layout helped the flow of patrons
Justin R — Google review
This museum was such a nice surprise! From the outside, it looks small, but once you step inside, it opens up into a great exhibition with so much to see. There’s an impressive variety of displays—from dinosaurs and ancient mummies to artifacts from the western era. I really enjoyed exploring everything and learning along the way. I’d definitely visit again!

Went with my son's school and was shocked with how much I learned. The kids had a blast, they are middle schoolers so that says a LOT. All of the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.

We had a great time this last weekend. We visited from Kansas City, ks. Great staff and really cool artifacts. Very clean facility and also a neat gift shop. Another awesome thing was if you have an EBT card, you get in free! This made our day. Thank you!!

Old Cowtown Museum is a living history museum that offers a glimpse into the late-1880s life in the County. The museum features historic buildings and artifacts from the 1870s, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the sights, sounds, and activities of a Midwestern cattle town.
We had a fantastic time at the Old Cowtown Museum! It truly felt like stepping back in time. The staff and volunteers were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and the historic buildings were beautifully preserved. We especially enjoyed the live demonstrations and interactive exhibits great for both kids and adults. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Wichita!

We took a day trip today & it was so much fun!!! The FAQ says to allow 1.5-2 hours, but it is also easily a full day depending on how much you want to read, absorb, and experience. We spent 4 hours and didn't read everything, or spend as much time in certain buildings as we could have. Our boys are 10 & under, and they had a blast!! They've already asked when they could come back. So much fun and truly an amazing experience. My husband & I haven't been here since we were in elementary school, and it's grown in the best way.

Old Cowtown Museum is a unique outdoor living history museum in Wichita, Kansas, offering a vivid step back in time to the city's early days as a booming cattle town from 1865 to 1880. Walk the dirt roads and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the Old West. The 23-acre site features over 50 historic and recreated buildings, including homes, a saloon, a blacksmith shop, and a period farm. Experience the past through costumed interpreters, hands-on activities, and a rich collection of artifacts. It's a fantastic place for all ages to learn about frontier life and the dramatic transformation of Wichita from a small settlement to a bustling agricultural and manufacturing center. Don't miss the staged gunfights and the chance to sip a sarsaparilla in the saloon! A must-visit for history enthusiasts.

This was such a cool place! We LOVED it! So amazing it feels like you went back in time! We very much appreciated the buildings with air conditioning. Also we loved the we could eat our picnic in the porch of the visitors center. Lovely museum!! Highly recommend!

Awesome little historical recreation. I loved how we could go into so many buildings. We went on a Thursday, so only the blacksmith was there, but he has to be one of the coolest people I've met. Definitely go on a cooler day too.

An absolutely amazing place!! 60 building from around Kansas have been moved to create Cow Town. Each building contains all the time period appropriate decor, instruments, clothing, and machinery.
Marilyn M — Google review
We had the pleasure of visiting the museum during our road trip from Oklahoma to Nebraska late August, and it was just great. You feel like you've been transported back to the late 1800s. The show in the front of the saloon is pretty good, and the kids enjoyed the buildings, which really put us in the mood of the era. The staff are friendly, and it was great to chat with them. Hope to see it again the next time we come from France.

Visited on Sunday. No charge to get in! Walked through and seen all the buildings and houses. The history was pretty cool! They did a shootout and got to see some gentleman playing the drums. Had a great time visiting.

Beautiful place. Quiet and peaceful during afternoon hours. Really enjoyed the green trees, fresh air and resting under the shade. They have a kids play area with pavilion. It was really beautiful , my kids enjoyed it. Children library is small but really great for kids. They have few limited food and drinks available for purchase.

My kids 8 & 11 loved it here! This ended up being one of our best stops on our road trip! We came during an evening and although we saw it all, we had to make our way through very quickly and I wished we had planned more time. It's a very big place!! The carousel wasn't working the evening but the attendant took the time to show us the automatic music machine, which was kind of like a player piano and honestly I think we enjoyed it more than we would have the actual carousel ride. I was so grateful for that attendant's time and patience to show us that! This is an absolutely gorgeous place! If I lived closer, I would visit here weekly!
Brian-Amanda B — Google review
Went on a Wednesday afternoon. No crowds. Bigger than I expected. Great price at $13. Totally worth it. Lots of butterflies. Helpful staff. Wish there were more water stations throughout the park. Maybe I just didn't see them.
Diane B — Google review
Botanica was absolutely beautiful! My daughter in an aspiring photographer so she loved the experience of being able to take her own photos (not shared below as they are still being developed). We loved how everything was labeled so it was easy to identify. The fountain was definitely my favorite as it was surrounded my lilies, my favorite flower. The only downside is that there isn't anywhere to really cool off. It was super hot and while we were able to find shade and some relief in the building with the carousel, that was about it. We skipped a good section of the gardens just to get back to the main lobby and hang out in the children's lobby to cool off.
Tanisha W — Google review
What a great place. Tucked away and feels very secluded. It is the end of Summer so they were replacing some of the plants with fall foliage but beautiful and a great peaceful walk through. We enjoyed the butterfly exhibit and kids garden and carousel, the Koi pond and garden train areas. My husband and I even stopped at the ping pong table outside the carousel area to play a quick game!! We went on Monday and it wasnt busy but a fun thing to check out. This was a birthday weekend trip for me and just a fun weekend to get out of Colorado and visit our neighbor state!

Always breathtaking. We had the lovely experience of getting to attend the Jade & Joy: A Decade of Blooms 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Chinese Garden of Friendship. Amazing!
Jessica H — Google review
As of this morning Botanica has opened their Chinese Garden! My husband and I had the privilege of being the first public guests after a long remodel, and let me tell you, this was SO beautiful!!! My husband and I lived many years in China and I will say, this garden was perfect! From the jade colored tile gateway to the koi fish to the dragon wall, I felt transported again to Beijing. This reminded us of the Summer Palace or one of the many temple gardens. This is such a lovely area! And, to those looking to propose soon to their beloved, the Treasured Friend Pavilion would be such a peaceful, beautiful location for such an event!!!!
MT B — Google review
A must visit in Wichita! We spent about an hour here and it was beautiful. It is super well taken care of. The many flowers and butterflies were our highlights. Make sure to stop by the butterfly garden, which is magical. Will absolutely be back when I’m next in Wichita!

The Keeper of the Plains is a 44-foot-tall sculpture that overlooks the confluence of the Big and Arkansas rivers in Wichita, Kansas. The statue was created by Native American artist Blackbear Bosin as a gift to celebrate the United States' bicentennial in 1976. Today, the Circle of Firepots surrounds the sculpture nightly, burning a Ring of Fire to honor Native American culture.
What a neat experience! A free attraction we were able to see as a family. The fires light up right at 9pm and stay on for 15 minutes. The area wasn't too crowded on the bridge or on the river bank where we walked. The entire vibe was very peaceful. I'd sit out there every night if I lived in the area.
Tanisha W — Google review
I've visited The Keeper of the Plains multiple times now during my various wandering and adventures around wichita, and everytime i pass by the area i make an effort to stop and rest here. The history, culture and education you can find here is educational for the kids, insightful for the average person, and Enlightening for the elderly. The smell of the fresh river water, The sounds of flutes and drums on the wind, there's no reason not to visit when you're in the region!
Ian ( — Google review
This place is incredibly beautiful. There's a bunch you can learn, and even more gravesites than you would think. There may also be a creepy looking troll somewhere in the area around the statue. Peaceful music plays, a nice water fountain with nice cold water. It's a nice place to just sit nearby and relax. At night, 9pm, fires are lit in the containers around the Keeper for around 15mins.
Natalia W — Google review
While on vacation, I wanted to check out a local park. We went to Keeper of the Plains. Upon arriving you can see a large statue and music playing. The surrounding scenery is very nice. Lots of history to read. Very unique and very cool park. Worth stopping at if you're in the area.
Beach F — Google review
Neat stop. Free parking on both sides of the bridge. I would get there about 830 as it gets busy. Good to walk around a bit and look at everything before they light it. You can stand under it ( next to fire) or there are benches on both sides of the river. We didn't get to see the torched lit as it was too windy. Don't forget to look for the troll. He's on the east side. Past the sitting area, up the sidewalk. You can see him better at night.
Jackie K — Google review
Such a great moment for our visit to Wichita. We found it to be a pensive experience with great music and people reflecting upon the lighting of the fires. The bridges alone are worth the walking experience.
Chris G — Google review
Beautiful spot with plenty to do—scenic trails for walking, running, or biking, and even kayaking where the Big and Little Arkansas rivers meet. Definitely worth a visit

Exploration Place is the leading science center in Kansas, offering a wide range of captivating exhibits, live science shows, and hands-on programs for both kids and adults. The center features interactive displays on air, weather, water, land, and even includes a tornado feature. Visitors can also explore the Kansas in Miniature exhibit and Kids Explore area. Additionally, the Boeing Dome Theater and Planetarium offer fascinating experiences for all ages.
I visit and view museums all over the world and this place of exploration and discovery is truly one of the best I’ve ever seen. Their location alone on the bank of the Arkansas River is beautiful and well worth the photo op it provides during your visit. The diversity of interactions for people to see, the attention to detail in the collections and the enthusiasm shown, especially by the education staff, is truly inspiring. One of the most interesting, and probably overlooked by locals, is the “Welcome to Kansas” exhibit. Detailing the biodiversity of not only what is extant, but also endangered and now extinct, this exhibit incorporates the natural history of the area and the current state of industry focus and climate models for guests in interact with. Kiddos of all ages can spend their time easily in the collections all day and never be bored or lose their sense of wonder. If there was one thing I would add or change, it would be to offer a live animal static display/room and a daily ‘meet and greet’ with the public for a keeper to introduce local wildlife diversity. I feel this would go a long way to ensure the sustainability of species, especially given the amount of wildlife seen struck and deceased on public roads. I hear there is a $25M upgrade happening onsite to include amazing outdoor facilities and interactivity; perhaps the aforementioned idea might be included in that expansion. I can only highly recommend this unique museum and science center to travelers and locals alike. It is well worth your time and the nominal cost to visit. Rated 9.75/10 Recommend!! Enjoy the Intrigue and Education!

Such a great stop for kids of all ages. Beautiful grounds next to Keeper of the Plains statue. Wonderfully maintained. Clean. Creative. Informative. We were just passing through and needed a stop for the kids; it has put Witchita on our permanent stops now when we’re in the area

Exploration place is such a fun place in Wichita. The drone show was awesome and gets better every year. The movie nights are such a fun great family quality time in the cool outdoors. And inside the place various fun things for all ages
BELLA B — Google review
This was my first time here. Upon entering everything was clean and seemed to be well stocked. It was a class trip day so there were kids EVERYWHERE. When I bought tickets I wasn't told that there was an extra fee for the dome (the whole reason I went) so I had to go and buy more tickets. We couldn't play anything or interact with anything because the kids were on everything so that was a waste of money but minus the kids everything was great.
Kryssy K — Google review
This was an amazing museum! We went all out and purchased the theater tickets as well. The Lady Gaga lazer show was way better than we imagined it would be! My kids had so much fun playing! We bought tickets on one of the days with extended hours and it got pretty quiet after 5pm. We loved it here and wish we lived closer so we could come back! There were plenty of picnic tables outside in the shade so we could eat the lunches we packed.
Brian-Amanda B — Google review
The castle was our favorite spot! We also made it to a dome light show with Taylor Swift music and that was a big hit. Will plan for more time next time because we completely missed the airplane section. I would suggest bypassing the first room and revisiting it on your way out.

Nestled in the historic Wichita Municipal Airport terminal, the Kansas Aviation Museum is a captivating homage to aviation's rich history. Once one of the busiest airports globally during its peak in the 1940s, this Art Deco gem now serves as a vibrant educational hub. Visitors can explore two floors filled with fascinating exhibits that celebrate significant contributions from industry giants like Cessna and Boeing.
It was cool to see the planes from both inside and outside. It was also cool to see the interior of the old Wichita airport terminal before it got moved to the west side. The control tower has a decent view of the Wichita skyline and learning about the vintage planes were interesting.
Travis T — Google review
Highly recommend this museum! I have been to a lot of museums (including the Smithsonians in DC) and I thought this was one of the best and most personable of the ones I have been to. I was not expecting to be able to go into the airplanes that were outside- it was so cool to see the planes up close! The museum staff were so knowledgeable and fun to talk to as well.

Had a blast exploring the museum. They had great exhibits for both kids and adults! The gift shop had some great things in it too. We also really enjoyed going up into the tower and listening to the airport and Air Force base communications. Totally recommend for family’s!

It's a great aviation museum ! They have a Beech Starship! We really enjoyed it. The old Art-Deco Terminal Building is a great facility. I don't know how they got the planes inside of ut though!

Lovely people, gorgeous special exhibit and a nice permanent collection. We enjoyed both the big name artists and the careful selection of local artists. We went early and our bracelet allowed us to go out and reenter later in the day.

Frank Lloyd Wright's Allen House, located in Wichita, Kansas, is a 1918 Prairie-style home designed by the famous architect himself. It is considered one of his personal bests and represents his perspective on prairie living. The house offers guided tours through its period interiors, allowing visitors to appreciate all the intricate details of Wright's renowned work. Additionally, guests can visit the Gilded Garage Gift Shop which features various Frank Lloyd Wright designs and books about him.
We had the best tour guide! He gave us a thoroughly interesting tour. I'm so glad my son and I stopped there on our cross-country trip. It got us excited about seeing more of FLW's houses in the future. PS: They had a super gift shop, too!.

Randy was our guide today. This tour surpassed all my expectations! He was so knowledgeable and detailed oriented. I learned a lot more about the Allen family, and especially much more to the genius of FLW! How incredible talented architect, interior and furniture designer! Now I need to be more exposed to of his fabulous structures. I’ve only been to the Guggenheim Museum.. Thank you so much, Randy for your passion and dedication!! It was an unforgettable visit!

Our visit to Frank Lloyd Wright’s Allen House in Wichita was an absolute delight. The architecture itself is stunning — every line, angle, and detail feels purposeful, yet inviting. What really made the experience special, though, was our guide, Burt. His enthusiasm, humor, and deep knowledge of Wright’s life and philosophy brought the home to life. He balanced architectural insight with personal stories that made the tour engaging for everyone, from design enthusiasts to casual visitors. If you’re in Wichita, don’t miss this gem — and hope you get Burt as your guide!

Extremely interesting journey into the mind of the famous (sometime infamous) architect from the early 1900s. Well preserved and furnished in the period of the day. Well curated. Very nice gift shop. You're well worth it.

Great tour! 100% recommend if you enjoy touring FLW homes.

We took the basic tour and still spent an hour and a half walking through the house with the docent. She was very pleasant and very knwledgeable. Be forewarned that you will likely have to purchase tickets in advance. They sell out early, and you will not be able to show up and get on a tour righ taway.
Jon H — Google review
There is free parking at the house. You can only visit the house with a guide. If you want to take photos of the interior, you will have to book the Grand Tour. This tour is limited to eight people. We arranged our visit via email and paid on site on the day. The guided tour lasts between two and three hours depending on the interaction of the participants. We received a very detailed explanation from Martha about the owners, the architect, the house and the works of art.

Worth the visit! This is one of our favorites Frank Lloyd Wright homes to visit. Guide was detailed with her information and friendly. No interior pictures allowed, but I find it easier to appreciate the tour that way.

The Mid-America All-Indian Museum, situated in downtown Wichita along the Arkansas River, offers an immersive experience for visitors interested in learning about Native American culture and history. The museum features a diverse collection of tribal artifacts and interactive exhibits showcasing various aspects of indigenous life. Visitors can also witness the striking 44-foot metal sculpture, Keeper of the Plains, at the convergence of Big and Little Arkansas rivers.
Wow!!! What a hidden cultural gem! It IS actually a little hidden too, we drove right past them on the first try. Well worth the u-turn. Rich in Wichita heritage and stories. There were so many beautiful pieces to see, painting, jewelry, stories, music Mid- America All- Indian Museum has it all. Amazing staff eager to help and answer any questions we had. My kids didn't want to leave!!

Honestly, this is pretty much an art museum and mostly about the artist who created the Keeper of the Plains statue, Blackbear Bosin. I found it very interesting and well curated. Maybe advertise it for what it is…an art museum about Blackbear. What a great body of work!

Spent several hours here. Enjoyed it immensely. There was a flower show. Great learning experience. Taught the importance of insects in our life.

There is free parking at the entrance of the museum. This museum uses information boards to provide information regarding the norms and values of the indigenous tribes. You will also find works of art by some of their artists. There is a tepee outside with explanations, but the site was closed due to vandalism.

I really enjoyed visiting the Mid-America All Indian Museum. They have several works of art by BlackBear Boston. Very beautiful and masterly designed works. Many of the works are truly mesmerizing and some are massive feats of artistic skill. Most of the gallery is solely dedicated to his work and life, which is understandable since he designed The Keeper of the Plains, just outside the museum. But there was a smaller section for another Native American artist, whose works were just as remarkable. There are exhibits explaining different aspects of Native culture Along with this they do have some general Native American instruments you can get your hands on and examine up close. My only complaint would be that I wanted more. You can probably stretch your visit to about 45mins if you read every sign to completion. But overall the gallery is small, about 1/8th of the size, compared to something like The Wichita Art Museum or the Museum of World Treasures. What they have is great, but I want more exhibits, I want more info on Native culture, and more works by more than just 2 Native artists, and some history of notable Native people. I'm aware they have events, which is very cool, but I would like more added for an average visit.
Seth R — Google review
We visited on March 19th, 2023, which was a sunday. The museum is not typically open on Sundays, but the Cherokee Nation had their At-Large annual meeting. It was crowded, and difficult to find parking right at the Museum, but there are several parking areas nearby within walking distance. Look for parking areas on either side of the confluence of rivers near the foot bridge. It was free to enter for this event, but normally tickets are $7 for adults.

On our field trip we were given the opportunity to make some noise with drums and shakers. We were read a story, discussed Black Bear Bosin, and were able to touch bison hide, see beadwork try our hand at games, and more. Thank you to the wonderful ladies who educated our students today.

Mid America All Indian Museum Seneca Kansas: For a very minimal charge you can spend hours in this museum and walk the grounds learning about the Native American ways and art. The pieces you will see here are just specular ranging from paintings, clay work, artifacts, to weaving and everything in between. There are even drums to play, pelts to feel and a teepee the little ones can go in, all inside the building. Along with all the art you can enjoy checking out a very tall friendship totem pole that's in a large conference type room which also includes some other larger items and history. When you're done inside you are encouraged to wonder the outside grounds and enter a full sized teepee to see what life would be like back then. Surrounding the teepee are examples of other things used and grown. They help support the museum with the sale of hand crafted jewelry and other collectible items if you are so inclined. This museum is well worth the time you will spend and you may learn something of a beautiful people you didn't know.

Alongside other local gems like Century II and the historic Orpheum Theatre, Intrust Bank Arena attracts both national and regional touring acts that keep the excitement alive seven days a week.
We had an incredible experience at the U.S Figure Skating championship at the Intrust Bank arena in downtown Wichita, KS. The performers showed off their talent during the rounds of competing. The arena was large and spacious enough to see the entire routines without visibility problems. The employees at the arena are very helpful and friendly. I also appreciate large venues that keep their bathrooms spotless! I'd go back to the Intrust Bank Arena to watch a competition any day!

Honestly, the concourse are too small. The sightlines aren't great and none of the food options wowed me. The parking was an absolute rip. I barely saw any ushers. The NCAA should forget about Intrust Bank Arena.

I’ve been to many events here over the past 15 years. From Thunder games to concerts to monster trucks and WWE! Always a good time, love the food and drink selections. Prices do seem to be a little high but what arena isn’t like that? The Cox Lounge is very nice. Really enjoy the seats that you can scan a QR code from and have food and drinks delivered.

How can 2 beers cost $30 or 2 drinks in perhaps 16 Oz cups for $40??!! That is ridiculous. Profit off tickets, parking, food and outrageous drinks. Expected pricey but really!! Hockey game was great otherwise.

The arena is located in downtown Wichita which makes it easy to get to off the freeway. There is plenty of parking but you have to get there early for the close spaces. The staff is helpful to get to your seats and getting around the arena. Now the stairs to go into the arena are a little steep to me but they do have rails. Also the seats are close together for a tall person but I was fine. It is also handicap friendly. For smokers there is an area outside. Arenas like this tend to be cold so a jacket is recommended. They have many food and drink options but you are not getting out of here spending less than $40. If you have the opportunity to get the VIP Experience that comes with food and drinks that is a good value- they happened to sell out for this concert. I had the time of my life. I appreciated the security and first responder staff present to keep people safe.

Arena in Wichita, handles a bunch of events and we enjoyed the space and comfortable seats. Lots of backstage space to set up and plenty of changing rooms. Was here again in 2025 to do a skating event, and while the aftermath was the sad flight, the venue was still easy to manage and parking across the avenue in Pec 3 was cheap. Lots of vendors and space.

A beautiful outdoor space with great and well-maintained walking trails. We saw deer right off the trail and so many amazing birds. We spent about an hour here and could’ve spent another hour on the trails! Nicely shaded by trees, as well, so it was great for a hot day.

What an excellent gem of a place hiding in the middle of Wichita. If you were looking to get semi lost in nature, this Is the place for you. There are parts of the park that make you forget that this is in the middle of a small city. The trails are well maintained, but there could be more / better Trail markers. My only wish Is that the trails are a bit longer but taking a couple loops more than satiates one's need for some physical activity. The tunnel of trees is absolutely amazing!
Warren S — Google review
Beautiful walking trails and boardwalks through light plains and wooded areas with ponds. Lovely on low crowd days but can get busy during some weekend events and sunset hour. Be advised that no dogs are allowed- Service Dogs only- and park attendants WILL ask you to leave if they notice you bringing a pet in.
Courtney C — Google review
Wonderful park with walking trails where you can enjoy a variety of water and mixed plains/woodland scenery. Good for exercise or relaxation and some fresh air. I come here frequently and enjoy the opportunity for birdwatching especially. My only complaint about this park is that proximity to a busy highway makes the northern side of the park (on the other side of a central creek and wooded barrier) so noise polluted that I find walking in this part is not relaxing at all. I end up avoiding half the park completely due to city noise pollution. Otherwise the scenery is really beautiful and I appreciate that there are always open public restrooms. Just makes me sad these days how manmade noise encroaches on our opportunities to try to feel at peace in nature.

The Center was clean, plenty of restrooms/stalls, helpful staff, and a semi-decent selection for snacks and drinks. My only negative thing is there is no center aisle. So when you are selecting seats and see seats 1 & 2 next to an aisle, know it is not. Seats 100 and something is right next to you, so if you have a smaller bladder select seats on the wings/outer edges.

The Lego/Brick convention was awesome. However, having the pride convention at the same time was stressful to have grown adults screaming profanity at each other while family’s with children are trying to locate the Brick/Lego hall. There could have been better signage.

The museum was nice and nalstolgic and had fun things to to they had a old time pay phone that works if you dial any number but its a dime to use it and they also had a type writer that worked and you could try it you could also send the letter to someone. The museum was in an era it had all the history of Wichita and its airport factories. To me, my favorite part was the 1920s and the Victorian era. I would recommend coming here.

Well- worth one's time! This gem of a local museum dedicated to the history of the Wichita and its environs in Sedgwick County is well worth the effort to explore. The volunteer staff is friendly, intelligent, and helpful, the museum store is ideal with many small gifts to select from, and the parking is easy on a weekend (I went on a Sunday afternoon when the downtown area was largely uninhabited.) As another reviewer commented, the museum is definitely geared toward adults, and I concur. However, children might be engaged for an hour or so exploring the classically restored building and viewing items from previous generations. The building has been magnificently restored to its original stately bearing, which in and of itself makes a visit worth one's time and effort. Don't forget to leave a donation if you can as this non-profit museum is well worth preserving for future generations.

Nestled in the vibrant Old Town area of Wichita, Kansas, the Great Plains Transportation Museum is a treasure trove for train enthusiasts and history buffs alike. This charming museum is dedicated to celebrating the rich rail heritage of the Great Plains region. Visitors can marvel at an impressive collection of locomotives and rail cars while immersing themselves in fascinating memorabilia that tells the story of railroading's impact on local culture.
Neat train museum for those who are already interested in trains. The volunteer staff is very outgoing and knowledgeable. The facilities are in good repair. It’s possible to climb on or up into several engines and cabooses - which is neat! There are stairs required to access the roof level decking/bridge with machines. It’s not stroller friendly, and I didn’t notice an elevator in the historic old building. It might be possible to access the roof/bridge area from across the street parking garage - but I’m not sure. There’s some souvenirs and a free train magazine on your way out.
Bethany H — Google review
The people at the museum have a wealth of knowledge. It's great to be able to get in some of the trains and i love that there are some young people volunteering at the museum!
David B — Google review
The museum isn't very big, but very well done. The staff was exceptional, most friendly, but not over the top if you know what I mean. Lots of great information on Kansas rail history and artifacts in the well organized indoor section of the museum. Beautiful railroad artwork was everywhere. The outside collection is parallel to a busy BNSF mainline. Separated by fence, so no fear of little ones getting in danger. The mainline gives interesting contrast to the vintage iron at the museum. There was much preservation activity going on at the museum. Painting and other work on the rolling stock. It was clean and well organized. One could enter some of the equipment on display. There were also a couple of neat old trucks outside. With what I observed during my visit, the Central Plains Transportation Museum appears to be doing a fine job of preserving Ks rail history. I, for one, am excited to see this organization grow and what they will accomplish in the coming years.

This museum was so neat! There are several train cars you can go into, including at least 3 caboose cars. The gentleman who accompanied us on our tour was a wealth of knowledge. The interior museum is small but worth looking at as well. It's a fun place for kiddos. They got to ring the bell and check out a few of the train cars up close and personal. Access to the museum is not accessible for wheelchair, strollers, or the like. We carried the stroller up a decent amount of stairs. I'm not sure I would recommend bringing a stroller. Pricing is a bit higher side for what you get.

I have been a Wichita resident all my life (a crisp 24 years now) and I'd always seen this museum, ATSF 3768 and the Santa Fe diesel on the Douglas St. Bridge. I'd only been to this museum once in memory. Recently, I went back this last week. The museum has a host of different engines and cars in display on the viaduct. Almost every engine has an open cab to explore. There's also an array of rail equipment to look over and learn about. The interior of the museum has a miniature display of Wichita in the late 1800's as well as diagrams and artifacts from other railroads. What I can say is this little museum is heavily underrated and deserves more attention. Tickets are only 8 dollars for adults. It is nice to see younger faces volunteering to run the place. We can't let this place fall. It is one of the forgotten icons of Wichita. Please donate to help restore Santa Fe #93.

I cannot stress how amazing of an experience this was! We came to Kansas all the way from Utah and it was worth every penny. I see reviews of people gawking at the price, but honestly, if you include everything you get to do (like the animal feedings, animal encounters) plus breakfast, lunch, and unlimited snacks??? Totally worth the price. I wouldn’t compare this to a normal zoo. It stood out so much more and is smaller than some of the larger zoos. But so many of the animals I saw were some I’ve never seen at zoos!! We obviously were obsessed with sweet Mars, love loved the mandrills. We watched them for hours. The tortoise was such a kind soul and let us scratch his neck for a long time. The staff is so kind and knowledgeable. 10/10 experience. I’d love to come back again if we’re able. Such a wonderful and unforgettable day!

Absolutely amazing facility (coming from another zookeeper here!) Yes, $150 sounds like a lot…but it is ABSOLUTELY worth it for the amount of stuff you get included. I would say for the grab and go snacks, a mini fridge with fruits or veggies would be a nice addition. However… the cookies are delish. It is glaringly obvious that this facility deeply cares for the animals wellbeing and gives them choices and respects when the animal says no. Enclosure are LARGES and kept very clean and natural looking. While a lot of encounters are being offered, these animals have multiples opportunities to or to not engage with the public and are not forced to do anything they don’t want to do. After talking with a keeper, I learned that there are lots of animals behind the scenes because they don’t like to be in the public eye (cheetah and snow leopard breeding facilities) The staff are extremely knowledgeable and passionate for what they do and that goes a long way when attending these private encounters. They generally have 2 keepers in an encounter, one to train the animal and focus only on their behavior. The other keeper to educate the guests, answer questions etc. One last bit of advice (besides healthy snacks) is more shade is needed in the area you stand during hippo encounter! But I love my Posie nose print❤️

I traveled to Tanganyika from Ohio after reading about all of the different unique encounter experiences. I planned an Ultimate Weekend (plus) with Rachel, who was so helpful and resourceful. I ended up needing a reschedule, which was straightforward and easy to do. Once I set foot in the park, everything was easy. Check-in was a breeze. Finding my way around the park was super easy. Staff in the VIP room were so kind and helpful. My encounter experiences were mainly with some combination of Taylor, Lexie and Caelin, but I was also with Kaitlyn, Kiana, Stacey (I think), Cassie, Gage, and Phoebe - and they were all amazing. Super knowledgeable, obviously love their work and the animals they work with, genuinely want to ensure their guests have a good experience, and mindful of any guest needs. I’m still a bit overwhelmed with all that I got to experience, but I know that I will never have three days like this again. To be so close to so many beautiful animals, working with them, feeding them, or even just observing - Tanganyika is not a zoo. It’s an experience park unlike any other. The way they intertwine guest experience with conservation and species survival and breeding programs is really remarkable, and I look forward to seeing their work expand and grow.

My kid liked it more than Disney World (her words) and our family had such a great experience during our day there. The staff were all welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely funny. The fact that it is all inclusive makes it easy to relax and enjoy everything on offer instead of keeping track of individual expenses. Highlights for us were Lemur Island and our sloth experience with Chewbacca and Molasses (shout out to Jolene the resident armadillo). It's an easy day trip from Tulsa and worth every penny.

We came in from NJ to see Mars the baby hippo. The park far exceeded our expectations. The ticket includes experiences, breakfast, lunch and 4 alcohol drinks each. Food serving takes a while so take advantage of the text when ready and place your order then go explore. The park is clean, the animals are well cared for and the staff are very knowledgeable. We enjoyed the up close experience with the variety of animals. If you get a chance, definitely go to Tanganyika.

Wow ……. I have no words. Me and my boyfriend Hudson (who is also writing a review) came all the way from Dallas he surprised me with a trip and we were not disappointed at all!!! This has been THE. BEST. TIME. EVER !!!! If you love animals and if you love nature, you WILL absolutely fall in LOVE with the Tanganyika Wildlife park. The keepers care so deeply about the animals. It’s very personable and they make you feel like you are the only one there. They are genuinely really sweet and caring people with very easy-going attitudes and have a love for wildlife. They truly love their jobs and it shows. The prices are amazing. Please search for discounts if you want!!! We upgraded my day pass for 6 drinks instead of one for just ME. He got 4 free drinks. Don’t even get me started about the burgers for lunch and the fries 🍟!! Omg the fries are so yummy!!! 😋 I added mayo to my burger and the Pulled Pork Sandwich was to die for !!!!! I loved every animal and they respected the animals so much I loved that!!! If you have ever been to a Zoo do not expect the same thing!!! These animals truly love their lives and are clearly thriving where they live, which is here at Tanganyika Wildlife park. The Gift Shop has beautiful gifts. He got me the handmade giraffe wallet and many bracelets. It’s honestly such a perfect little getaway. You will not regret coming here. We walked the ENTIRE park. I want to thank every single person who made this experience the very best. I love all of yall!!!!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖 Until next time Kansas 💖💖💖💖💖💖 the photos I’ve posted aren’t even close to what you will see for yourself !!!!! My phone died lol!!!

My family and I had a great time! The employees were super helpful and friendly, always available to answer questions. The animals were amazing to feed, letting the Lemurs crawl on you, feeding Monica the Rhino, and all the Giraffes. The Lorikeets were pretty friendly too and would land on you to get their snacks. Overall great experience for the family.

The Ulrich Museum of Art, located on the grounds of Wichita State University, is a renowned contemporary and modern art museum in Kansas. Established in 1974, it boasts an extensive collection that includes over 300 items donated by Edwin A. Ulrich. The permanent collection features works by prominent artists such as Diane Arbus, Sol LeWitt, Joan Miro, and Emil Nolde.
Despite being an Alum from Wichita State and taking art classes in this building, I’ve only gotten to experience the museum once… 25 minutes before close and I was still blown away by the exhibits! Definitely take your time going through to explore the artwork and talent of each artist.
Kynnedy M — Google review
Last night I participated in Ulrich’s Art Dive. A great time was had by all. After making art together, we enjoyed gallery talks about two of their major exhibits — Abhidnya Ghuge and Justin Favela. Ghuge’s piece was a large, undulating chicken-wired form filled with paper plates that Ghuge dyed and printed with designs. Favela filled his room with piñatas depicting his life. Afterwards, we went to Kirby’s and discussed life as art students and the art we had just experienced. The next dive is October 30, 2025. Go see these shows. They’re incredible. The Ulrich is free and open late on Thursdays. Bring the kids.

Small venue but full of art!! Friendly staff. Located on the beautiful campus of Wichita State. The building is accessible, well lit, and has elevator. The parking can be challenging or short walk. The building has varied exhibits. I will visit again.

Ulrich Museum is a great place for all art lovers and those seeking inspiration. The museum offers great shows, but also diverse and rich programs. It’s free and open to public. Once you are there, make sure you have time to discover their sculpture outdoor collection which will lead you through the whole campus!
Eva G — Google review
It has an excellent infrastructure. I liked the museum, however, they should include more works or more exhibitions.
Maleja R — Google review
Not what I expected. The Ulrich is a small museum and there's no permanent collection. There is, however, a good outdoor sculpture collection located throughout the Wichita State University campus. The outdoor sculpture collection is surprisingly good. But indoors, the Ulrich is small and the art is underwhelming.

Nestled along the serene banks of the Arkansas River, Veterans Memorial Park is a poignant tribute to those who have served in the U.S. military. This beautiful green space features an impressive collection of 21 memorials that honor veterans from various conflicts, including World War II, the Revolutionary War, and more recent engagements. As you stroll along its walking trails, you'll encounter monuments dedicated to Purple Heart recipients and Gold Star mothers, each telling a unique story of sacrifice and bravery.
Such a beautiful place to be! I've been here several times and loved it every time!

Attended the nightly burn at 9 pm and had a great time. It was a little chilly so the heat from the burn was much appreciated. I parked by the Exploration Center parking lot and walked up to the bridge. The area seemed safe with bright light stations illuminating the parking lot area and police presence both on SUVs and bikes. Safe family friendly event.
Hugo E — Google review
I liked it and I read so many things about it. I wasn't as enthusiastic as I hoped I would be mainly because there weren't many people there and they didn't sell any souvenirs at any stores of the statue. Glad I got the opportunity to see this once.

A good place to visit. One of the few places where you can see all of the conflicts represented. A must see if you are in the area.
Ski B — Google review
Wonderful memorial to honor war veterans. It’s been well thought out and beautiful designed. I very impressed by this outdoor memorial. It’s located along the riverfront and a lovely tribute to those who’ve fought for our country. The memorial spans quite far and it’s easy to miss the tributes / monuments, since there are no clear pathways on to the next site. Each tribute tells the story documenting the journey of the war. I am especially fascinated by the monuments regarding the Korean War, which shows a map with dates in which our US troops entered the city country (it’s on the back side of the Korean War memorial). The only suggestion I’d make is to put up a directory / map of the entire memorial, or somehow more clearly define the path. Other than that, well done! And thank you to all the veterans out there for your service!!
Sheena Y — Google review
I wish I could give more stars as the intention of the memorial park is one of honor and respect; however, the homeless population and substance abuse is an issue here. The park is not safe for others due to crime and shootings in and around the area. The darker it gets the worse it gets. Its better in the colder months than the warmer months. Sad thing is the Wichita PD is less than a block away yet this is an unsafe area.

Nestled on the campus of Wichita State University, The Original Pizza Hut Museum is a delightful tribute to the origins of one of the world's most beloved pizza chains. Established in 1958 by brothers Dan and Frank Carney, this museum showcases the story behind their groundbreaking venture that started as a small restaurant in Wichita. Visitors can immerse themselves in the rich history of Pizza Hut, exploring fascinating memorabilia from its early days and celebrating its evolution into a global phenomenon.
Very cool to see the original Pizza hut building. It’s truly just a hut but there’s some cool artifacts inside. It’s on the campus of Wichita State University. It’s free along with parking and you can spend a good half hour to hour here. Definitely worth the stop and had us craving Pizza Hut!

It’s crazy how small this store is and or was!! It’s located at Wichita state university, it says it was open but there was no one in there or I couldn’t get in. It’s so small you can see everything thru the windows. Pretty neat to see the history of such a huge company today and where they started.

Cute and informative. Was fun to walk around and learn more about the start and rise of this company. I really enjoyed watching the old commercials I grew up with. Very nostalgic.

Quaint, nostalgic, informational, and free. If you're a Hut fan and in the neighborhood it's worth the detour. You won't spend a lot of time there (it's literally one room). Only downside: no merch! We would've paid good money for Book It! shirts.
Angela H — Google review
We showed up at 4 on a Wednesday and it was closed. 2 other people were there, and they had tried to call the number, but no one answered. You could see some of the stuff through the windows. Parking is confusing since it's mostly school parking and says you need to have a permit. It's small, and I can't imagine that you'd spend more than 30 minutes inside but I'm not sure.
Dani D — Google review
One room brick building which was moved form its original location and is now on Wichita State University campus. Open to the public. Museum inside includes Pizza Hut memorabilia, nostalgic restaurant table and chandelier, and info plaques. Worth stopping by even if it's closed or after hours since you can see a lot of it through the windows.

Nestled in the heart of Wichita, the Wichita Toy Train Club & Museum is a delightful haven for train enthusiasts and families alike. Founded by passionate collectors, this charming venue showcases an impressive array of model trains and collectibles across meticulously crafted layouts that span over 50 feet. Visitors can immerse themselves in a whimsical world filled with intricate scenes that evoke nostalgia and wonder. The museum operates on select weekends, offering a unique opportunity to explore its captivating displays while engaging with friendly staff who share their love for trains.
We decided to choose the museum for our son’s 3rd birthday because we had seen a flyer regarding birthdays at another museum. The first thing I would like to say is that the staff at the museum were outstanding! You could tell that everyone wanted to be there. The next thing I would like to say is that the value for what you pay for to use their space is generous. We had a private room for 30 people, access to the museum for all of our guests, dinnerware was included, decorations, tables and chairs were all setup for us, and our kiddo got to get a whistle, shirt, or hat at no extra expense to us. I had never heard of this place until we found their flyer, and none of our birthday guests had heard of it before either. I really hope that the word about this awesome place is getting around outside of my social circles because it is an amazing spot. Thanks for everything you did today to make my son’s birthday special!

I took my son who enjoys trains and making models. He loved it, so if you enjoy model railroads, you’ll probably enjoy this place! I, however, have a limited attention span for this hobby, and I had “seen it all” in five minutes. The bathrooms were clean. It seems like a place for locals to work on projects together. I think of my 7 person family, 4 of us would Have lasted 5 min, and the others half an hour. It’s not a must-see when going to Wichita - unless this is your particular hobby!

My top three to visit in Wichita! A beautiful place that exhibits prime example of model railroading in the United States. Representing the N the HO, S, O, and even one example of the G rail sizes of small toy railroads in America. For any Enthusiast in Miniatures, or anyone who is a child at heart, this is a place to see three rooms and four massive layouts. Hands-On exhibits for children. You have to see this place!

This place is AWESOME! My family went when they collaborated with the Transportation museum. My 2.5 year old LOVED it!!! The train displays are enormous and my son had so much fun watching everything. There are also areas for kids that are more interactive. It really is just one of the coolest places I have taken my tinybtrain enthusiast. Well worth the money and you can easily spend hours there. Can't wait till my sons next birthday so we can have it here! There was also a young man in a room with a train set that I guess gives them alot of trouble. I was having sensory issues and kinda went in there to hide. He was a DELIGHT to talk to. Told me stories about the history of Thomas the Train. As well as showed me some other animations of trains for my son. It was wonderful listening to how much he enjoys this hobby. I hope if this continues to be a love of my sons he enjoys it as much as that young man does. Edit: Just realized I never edited my review after we had my sons birthday here. It was almost 2 years ago but it was an amazing choice. If I recall it was $100-$150. You get access to the birthday room. Which they decorate and provide cutlery and such. There is a model train set up there for the kids as well as a play area. Then of course they have access to all the model train sets in the building. If I remember right you get the room for like 2 hours. It was SO worth the price. You you are looking for a great place to hold a birthday party for your Jr. Conductor. Tnis is the place

Situated in downtown Wichita, The Kansas African American Museum (TKAAM) showcases regional arts and cultural artifacts that reflect African American life and heritage. Housed in the former Calvary Baptist Church building, it was established by the First National Black Historical Society to preserve Wichita's Black heritage. Nearby attractions include the Great Plains Transportation Museum, featuring railroad equipment and locomotives, as well as the Museum of World Treasures in Old Town.
This was my first visit to this Jim of a museum for African American history in Wichita Kansas. It started off as being very welcoming. We had gone as a family we had a stroller as well so we were able to maneuver most of the museum with the stroller we did have to take my grandson out just to go upstairs. We also were met by the director who was very knowledgeable about the African-American plight in Wichita Kansas and surrounding areas. There were also areas for children to color there's children's books adult reading material books at on the history of the museum as well there's areas where you can make bracelets it's very interactive. I recommend anyone who is into the history of Wichita and the surrounding areas of African-American history to make sure that this makes it on your list of go visit.

The museum had plenty of interesting exhibits to look at, especially the Black community of Wichita. However, the inside of the museum felt more like an early 20th-century home than a typical museum. I hope to visit again once the new building opens in the near future.

Thanks to the friendly staff who welcomed me and gave me simple guidance on how to approach the museum and its rich gifts of Wichita history, Kansas history, American History - the history of the work of human dignity among the black people of Wichita and the world. To stand upstairs and look down into the sacred space with the sunlight filtered through the stained glass is to experience a particular kind of peacefulness. Breath deeply there and maybe close your eyes and hum the opening notes of your favorite hymn. Shane, thanks for shaking my hand and introducing yourself. Good luck and blessings on your expansion in the new location. - jon

I enjoyed my experience at TKAAM! I loved that it was located in a historical building built by the hands of African American community members. The staff was very knowledgeable and helped to fill in some knowledge gaps I had. Their presence in providing information and fostering thought-provoking conversations made for a very fruitful experience. I visit African American museums across the nation, and this one was one of my favorites.

The downtown park of Wichita, at Douglas and St Francis. The recently remodeled and newly named park has a large center of attractive but fake grass, surrounded by loads of bench areas for eating and gathering, along with a stage for performers. A sharp view of surrounding downtown architecture is a highlight to the park and it has plenty of shops and dining stops available in walking distance. There is a small, gated dog area but it is a total waste since it’s mostly concrete and uncared for. Accessibility to this park can be a challenge for new visitors due to locating parking in the busy area and searching for a spot can be frustrating when events and food truck gatherings are being held. Overall, it’s an improvement from the old park and is worth a visit from anyone checking out the area.

As a spot to sit and enjoy something from one of the handful of shops nearby, it does a decent job. As a park, it kinda fails in my opinion. The main greenery is an open AstroTurf area with no reason to be on it. Between that, the lack of longer benches, and the signs explaining that the park is closed after midnight, it all screams "anti-homeless area". That was obviously the main goal, not a place to be enjoyed by the public

This place is a sad replacement of the real park that was replaced with astroturf. The area needed to be opened up for safety the design give an artificial feel to the area and outdoor events held here. Many of the storefronts are empty.

The B-29 Doc Hangar, Education & Visitors Center in Wichita is a must-visit attraction for aviation enthusiasts and history buffs alike. This unique center is home to the restored B-29 Superfortress "Doc," one of only two airworthy planes of its kind left in the world. The 42,000 sq. ft. facility at Eisenhower National Airport offers an interactive experience for visitors of all ages, providing a fascinating look into aviation history.
Really informative and a beautiful aircraft. One of only 2 remaining B29 aircraft still flying. Worth a visit. Knowledgeable people there to give you a tour and answer your questions
Mark F — Google review
I very much enjoyed visiting Doc. The volunteers had a lot of information and when they didn’t know an answer they went and hunted down someone who did. Getting into cockpit was great. The hanger does get humid and warm during summer so keep that in mind when visiting. The memorabilia is a little on the expensive side but I really do enjoy their shirts.

One of the most impactful museums in the country related to Aviation and military. Showcasing the extraordinary might of the United States production powerhouse in the 1940s that made the creation of so many complicated and enormous for the time aircraft. The incredibly beautiful restoration of Doc itself is a sight to behold. The phenomenal volunteers and donors behind the movement who value history and this war changing aircraft are the heart of America. There are only two functional B-29 aircraft left in the world, the people of this museum fight against difficult odds to keep Doc in the air and work diligently so generations may continue to see history in real life.

The world would be a better place if we could all experience a flight on such an incredible aircraft. Look forward to seeing Doc grace the skies over Canada one day perhaps :)

The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is a beautiful and peaceful place where Catholics from all over the world come to pray. It is decorated with beautiful artwork and is a great venue for religious services. The Pieta, an iconic statue of Jesus Christ holding his dead mother in his arms, is a highlight of any visit.
We went in for mass while visiting from Texas. Such a beautiful cathedral with so much history. The priest greeted us as we were leaving. Will return while in town for the next month or so.

We brought the kids to visit Father Kapaun's tomb. We were welcomed warmly and enjoyed praying and looking around the beautiful church. Easy parking. Plenty of signs to show the way to Father Kapaun's Tomb. We enjoyed the questions to get the code to unlock the door 😊 (though it was open when we went anyway.) Great visit, definitely recommend for anyone on pilgrimage. Thank you!

Definitely an awesome place to go Learned a lot about Firemen History and the items they used to keep their citizens safe! Would recommend to others for sure!

Our tour guide David Wilson was awesome!! He's a retired firefighter and really made the stories fun and interesting. My teenagers loved it! What a gem right in our beloved city! ❤️ They're only open on saturdays because they need more volunteers. Tour Wichitas LAST firestation that used a horse drawn carriage. Hear the stories. You'll be glad you did! Plus! We used Groupon to see the museum. Made everything quick and easy for our group.

This little firehouse is PACKED full of history including 2 very rare, fully restored fire engines, photos, nozzles of every shape and size, and tons of gadgets I haven't seen anywhere else! Every staff member was friendly, knowledgeable, and able to answer all of my questions. Being right downtown (just 1 block south of Kellogg on Broadway) this is a MUST see attraction for Wichitans and visitors alike! The memorial plaza section of the museum is especially meaningful. The "Last Call" statue is truly striking and humbling. To see all the names of fallen Kansas firefighters in brick and stone is extremely powerful. Pricing is more than fair and well worth it! This is an afternoon of fun the entire family will enjoy.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Wichita, Kansas, TempleLive at the Scottish Rite Center is a stunning historical venue that dates back to 1887. This multi-level space boasts seven unique event areas, making it an ideal location for a variety of gatherings—from lively concerts and comedy shows to elegant weddings and corporate events. The Romanesque architecture adds a touch of grandeur to any occasion, while its proximity to Old Town enhances the overall experience.
It was a very cool venue. I loved the theater. It had great sound, not a bad seat! The staff and security were amazing! I loved it! Kid friendly and she had a guitar pic thrown to her. It made her day.

Went there to see a performance of belly dancing with a friend, never been inside the building but always admired the structure outside being inside and enjoying the ladies and their love of the dance it was an amazing experience thank you Amira dance for the amazing night
Ethel B — Google review
We saw Paul Cauthen (with Billy Ray and The Buttercutter opening) last night. It was our first time at the venue and I thoroughly enjoyed it! There was a few hundred in attendance, so plenty of room to explore the beauty of the temple and dance the night away. The standing crowd was not a good one, but the ample staff around made me feel safe and comfortable. Friendly service, they were quite patient with each customer, so the waits were a bit long but worth it for the level of service. It sounded amazing in the theatre and there were good views of the performace abound.

First off this little venue is incredibly beautiful, the atmosphere adds ambience to any performing act. We attended the ignite the fire tour with lacuna coil, New years day and oceans of slumber. It was a very nice break from the large arena shows we are accustomed to seeing. Parking was great and free! The staff was courteous and helpful. Can't wait to see another act in this historic downtown location.

This venue is absolutely ornate, nostalgic & and unique experience. We enjoyed incredible musical talent along with plenty of space & seating or standing options. The concessions were quick to get you right back to the event. Great experience & I’d definitely recommend & will be back.

A beautiful venue and great people to work with. Tony was extremely helpful and friendly, thank you! The space is definitely second to none, and really unique for our area. I've been familiar with the Rite since I was a kid but this is the first time I've actually dealt with them as an event location and can't find a single thing I'd gripe about. Really looking forward to the Nutcracker being held there this year! I genuinely hope Wichita takes good care of this historic landmark.

Had an excellent experience for my first time at TempleLive! We came to see muscadine bloodline and it did not disappoint! It's very beautiful on the inside and the staff was very friendly. The only thing that was scary initially was when everyone started jumping and the floor moved with you! Only a little, some people didn't notice. Other than that it was a great place to see a concert.

Took my family for the first time on Tuesday for my Oldest Sons 15th birthday. We were very surprised that it was half off entry as I'd not seen that advertised anywhere. The assortment of games was very wide and it was super cool to see the video projections of the pinball machines which turned out to be a hit with my kids. The food was typical but very good and obviously made with care. Wait staff were all very sweet, kind and attentive. You can tell they enjoy their jobs. This place is going to be in rotation on our half priced Tues list as a lot of other places in town are also half priced on Tuesday.
Amanda — Google review
Being a total child inside, I couldn't resist going to an arcade while in Witchita. When you enter, they have a large selection of pinball and older arcade games. They charge by the hour for the arcade games and pinball is pay as you play. The selection of pinball is top notch. Although I do like some Jersey Jack games, Stern is always solid. I could stay at this place for hours on end. They serve decent food and liquor too. Gotta check this place out if you're in the area.
Beach F — Google review
Very family friendly place that really takes this gen x guy back to his childhood hood. The food was quick, tasty and reasonably priced. The game play is hard to beat at $12 for unlimited play on MOST of the games. Some games like skeeball cost extra, but still aren’t bad at all. I did not partake but the bar looked well stocked and again the prices were very reasonable. Things that could be improved would include cleaning the games better, some are pretty visibly dirty and taking more care to ensure the full facilities are accessible by wheelchair and isles are blocked by games, chairs, etc. Overall very happy with this find and will be returning with friends.

Very very busy. Small enclosed space with tons of people around. Staff waited till after we paid to tell us that only certain games could be played for 12 dollars. But the other stuff you have to pay with tokens. We would’ve done the other games if we’d be told that. Also when we walked in there was no staff at the booth. And so we stood there for a while unsure of what to do. We asked a server and she said someone was supposed to be there. Overall it was a alright experience. Just very loud and crowded for my tastes. The games were fun though.

Step into a time machine and land right in the heart of downtown Wichita at this epic arcade! For a small admission fee, you can unleash your inner 80s and 90s kid and play all 103 arcade games to your heart's content. Think you're a pinball wizard? Prove it on one of the 23 classic pinball machines, complete with modern LED displays that broadcast your epic (or not-so-epic) moves to everyone around. Feeling a bit peckish after all that button-mashing? No worries! This place has a fully stocked bar and a kitchen serving up all your favorite snacks—appetizers, pizza, hot dogs, and burgers. It's like a teenage dream come true! And if you're planning a birthday bash, look no further. With a spacious patio filled with tables and chairs, it's the perfect spot to celebrate and relive those glory days. In short, this arcade is a blast from the past with a modern twist, and it's absolutely awesome!

The adjacent restaurant, Public at the Brickyard, specializes in farm-to-table cuisine and is known for its Prairie Sliders made with locally sourced ingredients.
Great bunch of bands on this night we are here!! Beautiful decor. A lot of fun. Even a band member from Denver on tour with his band visited with us. We love this open air music venue.
Carla R — Google review
Would have been nice to hear Tumbao at 9, as advertised. By 10, we got tired of watching a live band stand around since 8:30 while they played recorded music, so we went elsewhere. Everything else was good. Food/service/drinks. When you advertise music at 9, you should deliver in a reasonable time frame. This is why many people come. Wasting our time is rude while you wait so people can spend even more $$$ on food & drinks. If the show was free, I could understand. But you charged a cover and still made people wait. We know how this all works. Catch you next time, maybe.
Koontakentaylor — Google review
Decent venue for live music when the weather is good. Food is standard bar food, drink prices are fair but there is no wait service after 9 , you have to go to the bar to get your own drinks. Very annoying that even when they bring in bands that appeal to a more mature over 30 crowd, young people come and stand around in the middle of the dance floor, even when there are plenty other places to sit or stand. Multiple people I know stopped going to this venue because of this. Would be nice if Brickyard staff could manage this issue a little bit.
Donna — Google review
Live music was awesome, drinks were great, the atmosphere was great, the only problem was a constant barrage of a sewage smell. It was fun and after a few drinks I stopped noticing it. Definitely want to go back, hopefully the smell will be gone!

Delicious food. Bao as the appetizer and spicy fried chicken for the entrée were delicious. Hard to get internet in the dining area, to check the specials, and the wifi situation was atrocious. That was the only negative about this place.
Brambled D — Google review
Very good service first of all, our waiter was attentive without being annoying and very willing to make a special drink without it being any big deal at all. Much appreciated. The food was simple and very tasty. Not big portions necessarily but the quality made up for the smaller portions in my opinion. Thankfully the weather was nice enough for us to use the courtyard. All-around good experience.
DOOD J — Google review
1st time at this bar for salsa night and the assistant Manger steals $12 from the $20 I gave him for an $8 margarita... never approached me for change. Argued about me giving him a $20 claiming it was a $10 which it was not. Then had me kicked out for his actions of theft. If it was a $10 I'd still ger $2 change to choose to give it as a tip but as it wasn't he never gave the option as I watched him grab change from he till and put it right back rather then proceed to give to me as an option... shame on this establishment. Shame on the assistant manager cuz even ur account of a $10 would leave me receiving $2 to decide for a tip. So either u stole $12 (which u did) or u stole $2 with no customer option... tisk tisk and u deal with hundreds of customers

Gallery Alley is a vibrant public space located between historic buildings in the city. It was initially established as a temporary project in 2017 but has since evolved into a colorful and active multicultural hub. The alley features local art, a portable concert stage, outdoor movie screenings, and seating areas for visitors to enjoy. Additionally, it is home to classic businesses like Old Mill Tasty Shop, which offers delicious old-fashioned milkshakes.

We stumbled upon Gallery Alley while walking to our chosen restaurant for dinner! We nearly fell over when we looked up and saw the giant spider, little did we know there were two! A beautiful vibrant space began with a grant in 2017 and is now a beautiful public hangout spot. When I decided to find out more about the alley, I was thrilled to see that in 2021, Gallery Alley was reimagined once again they began work with Envision, a group focused on improving the quality of life for those who are visually impaired, to create intersensory art experiences in this space. Hopefully more local artists take advantage of the space!

Gallery Alley is a downtown treasure. It provides an element of surprise and delight to visitors which is what downtowns are supposed to do. It brings energy to a unique but underutilized space and demonstrates that streets and alleys can be repurposed to provide value to people on foot (not just drivers!). It's a unique urban space to just hang out in with neighboring businesses providing product to enhance the visit. I stopped in on my way back to Dallas from Wichita and I am so glad I did. Not only do they have over 40 types of wine there is also a whole section of other goodies like jellies and mustards plus wine related gifts. I tasted about 10 wines and left with a box full! Do not skip this place!

Beautiful Kansas winery with amazing hospitality! Wildwood Cellars is a stunning spot surrounded by gorgeous views and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff here are incredibly kind and make you feel right at home. Whether you’re into wine tasting or just want a relaxing stop along your travels, this Kansas winery is absolutely worth visiting. The wines are delicious, the setting is peaceful, and the people make it truly special. Highly recommend making the stop at Wildwood Cellars!

I knew we were in trouble when elderberry dominated the descriptions in the wine selection. This seemed like it was a former truck stop or interstate gift shop, and didn't have much thought given to its transformation to a winery and tasting room. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, but the atmosphere and wines don't make the drive from Wichita worth it.

We really enjoyed the wine and speaking with the owner. He recommended a nearby "local's" restaurant that had great burgers: Boudreux Burger Barn. We spent the majority of the time sipping wine inside, but they also have a nice patio in the back. Our favorite wines were their Elderberry Blackberry, Elderberry & their Spiced wine which was served warm. We plan to return, next time were in the area!
Jim P — Google review
Very friendly staff. Nice little winery. Specializing mostly in elderberry wines as well as fruit wines. While fruit wines aren't quite my favorite, they offered a nice elderberry mulled wine which is very similar to German Glühwein.

The Orpheum Theatre in Wichita has been a cultural landmark since 1923, known for hosting a variety of events including family-friendly concerts, live performances, classic films, and special events. As America's first atmospheric theatre still standing, it offers excellent seating and an intimate setting for visitors of all ages. With its rich history and stunning architecture, the venue plays a vibrant role in the city's cultural scene.
Can’t help but wonder how many events and memories were made in this iconic and historical 100-year old venue. Lots of great artwork and architecture around the building that make the atmosphere special. A must visit for anyone who can find an event that they’ll enjoy! Can’t wait to see the upcoming renovations. Staff were very friendly and inviting. An usher offered me a closer seat due to open seating! I believe there are no elevators to the upstairs seating, and all staircases are very steep! There are railings of course, but some staircases are 15-20 steps. The floors are marble, so they can be slippery. If stairs are a problem, I would highly recommend first floor seating. The stairs heading to the upper level can be difficult to those attending.

Always a fun evening going to the Orpheum! Love the anniversary movie series that I see monthly, but tonight is ABBA. The first time I've been seated in the upper section of the theater. The seats are fairly close together up here and still pretty uncomfortable, but it's part of the historic charm. Very excited for the renovation later this year and can't wait to see what the 2nd century has for the Orpheum theater.

It was an amazing show, all the Drag queen were outstanding, very professionals and accurate with the roll they were performing, very entertaining, my daughter and I love it and definitely will see them again, we are fans since their individual season, but after tonight, they have all our admiration and respect, drag queen crew you all are amazing. Thank you for the exquisite show.

This is a cool old theater. My friends and I went to see the midsummer night's dream ballet. The building is definitely beautiful. It's in need of some repairs but it's a piece of history and should be valued. Anywhere you sit in the theater the seats are great. I would highly recommend seeing a show here. There's also some good restaurants nearby and if you're into antiquing, there's a few right around the corner.

Attended the World Premiere of God Save the Wings. Historic theatre to relive the history of Wichita Wings Professional Soccer. I almost didn't go for fear of trying to park & walk in downtown Wichita. We found a spot just few blocks away. Then a short, brisk walk & we were there. No long lines. Because it was a middle age, mature crowd we needed better lighting & signage to know where to go. Saw 3 different people tumble down the stairs, poor lighting. Immediately those around the person helped out. I wouldn't mind a brief education on The Orpheum Theatre before any show or event. Get customers interested in the ongoing preservation of the bldg. I didn't realize the scope of events, shows @ the Orpheum. Eager to return, highly recommend to others.

Great place for metal concerts. I always have a blast and the drinks are cheap too

Music mixing is terrible. It be better to have Spotify on shuffle. The main dance floor is too bright, and empty on a Saturday night. Drink service was good, but the service charge is crazy for what they have. They won't let people in if they are wearing sport jerseys( but the dj/security can wear whatever they want ) they'll let you wear a hat but will make you turn the hat towards. Lot of awkward standing around till about midnight when the people who got to the other clubs late settle to come here....

This used to be such a great place. Now they have a dress code that requires belt loops on all shorts and pants for females and males. I have worn the same shorts. I’ve had on the same style of shorts for years and came here. But now with the way clothes are made today not many people will be dressed like that. I can’t wait to see how much money you guys are gonna lose with the NEW dress code

Definitely gone downhill over the years. 10$ cover charge for a bar that didn't even get over half full on a Saturday night compared to every other bar I went to. Hardly any indoor seating. Bar tender was very nice and professional.

Guests have praised the venue's stunning aesthetics and prime location in the arts district. Additionally, personalized bar service with delightful drinks has been highlighted as a standout feature.
The Hudson was absolutely incredible with everything they did for our wedding! They made us feel cared for throughout the entire planning process and the day-of. They were there beside us for every curveball, and they handled everything we threw at them with patience and grace. We appreciate the whole staff so much. We can't recommend the Hudson enough!

We hosted our wedding party at The Hudson in April 2025. The team was easy to work with, and small touches the day of the event were meaningful. We loved the variety of seating options available to accommodate our unstructured seating approach. And the signature cocktails from Xclusive were a big hit! Having reserved parking and security to guide guests to it was mentioned by several guests as very helpful.

The Hudson graciously hosted our Spring Soiree ladies night out for Andover Young Life the past two years in a row and the experience was unmatched! Our event more than doubled between the two years, and the staff was kind, overly accommodating, gracious in their communication and genuinely helpful as we navigated how to host a growing event! It was really fun for us to come back to their space a SECOND time and receive the same experience - I think that really speaks to the way they run their business and the staff they choose to work there! We are BIG fans of The Hudson! The picture below is just a snapshot of how beautiful their venue is!

The Hudson was a great venue for our wedding! They were quick to respond to all of my questions leading up to the day. Pricing was very transparent from the beginning. We picked the *perfect* venue for our wedding day. It was everything we wanted and more— with the beautiful exposed brick to some industrial elements to the softer feel of the cocktail garden. It was spacious yet cozy. It’s elegant and yet rustic. This space is definitely made to mold into any vision you may have. The background in every candid or posed photo we have from that day looks so good because the space is just a beautiful one. You know you’re at a good spot when you don’t have to dress it up much. Additionally, Jessie and Ava were always so helpful! They were responsive with any question I had for them, and quickly too. They shared several helpful guides and references for me to use as I made plans. My day turned out exactly as I wanted it to and I’m thankful to them for that! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Hands down one of the best wedding venues in town. Jessie is a true professional and always accommodating. Our team has done many weddings at The Hudson and loved how smooth how they all turned out. The rustic vibe of the venue would be perfect for any bride out there! There is a lot of brick work inside with an open canvas to decorate it however you like. This venue can accommodate 200-250 people comfortably with extra space on the patio for outdoor activities. Best wishes to all of the brides!

I’ve been to two wedding receptions here three and a half years apart and both times the venue couldn’t get their own A/V equipment to work. The big screen on the wall they use as a selling point didn’t work either time. For the first event it was new and under new ownership, so I could cut them some slack, but in three years since they still haven’t gotten their act together. It’s pretty poor when the slideshow can’t be shown and half of the attendees didn’t even notice they were doing the first dance because the speakers were so quiet.

This venue is phenomenally gorgeous! If only there were a higher rating than 5 stars! We loved spending the Battle of the Brackets NCAA Tournament event in our VIP lounge that we enjoyed during the excitement of the first round of 2018's NCAA's. We loved having a spot to retreat to during the excitement that was in Wichita! Brandy and Jesse (the owners) had quite the task of managing tens of 1000s of people over the 4-day event, but every time we encountered them, we were met with warmth and hospitality! Something we won't forget! The staff was amazing, especially BROCK!!! We are looking forward to booking our own events at the venue and getting to know this great space and it's great people better. We can't say enough good things about this venue. LOVED IT!!!! <3 <3 <3

I would give this place a 0 if i could. As part of a prom event my school let our culinarily club cater treats. The people who i would assume were event planners where extremely unprofessional. The “event planner” yelled and cursed at us (literal children) for not knowing where to park to bring in our equipment. When there were at least 3 other safer locations to unload our Stuff other than on the street (where we did evens up unloading our equipment). When the manager of the bus station saw us park in the back alley to unload our equipment he yelled at me too. The words I heard come out of the event planners mouth were words I didn’t even know existed. The kitchen didn’t have any where to heat anything up (which we were not told about). The way we were treated soured the whole night for me, my teacher and some of the other students. The venue was beautiful but I’d never want to come back to a place that was so horrible towards us.

Steampunk Village in Wichita is a hidden gem that feels like stepping into a metal Garden of Eden. Though it's compact, this quirky attraction is brimming with creativity and detail, making it an ideal stop for anyone exploring the area. Visitors often find themselves captivated by the unique creations of Gary Pendergrass, who began his artistic journey after retirement. His work showcases salvaged materials transformed into intricate steampunk art pieces that spark wonder and conversation.
I was looking for something to pass the time while waiting on my vehicle to be serviced and happened upon this gem while checking out Google Maps! It was a really neat little outdoor art exhibit! Lots of cool creatures, critters, and contraptions! I would love to see more places like this as I love the Steampunk aesthetic and all of the creations were so neat! I would highly recommend if you're looking for something different to do in Wichita - just be mindful of the people that live next to the art.

This is a super odd art display randomly on a residential street in a residential neighborhood. The art display is kind of creepy but certainly well-done; it is definitely very steampunk. It’s free, and you can see the whole thing in about 5 minutes.

This place reminds me of a metal Garden of Eden (Lucas, KS) and, although not as big, is a really cool little attraction to stop in and see while in Wichita. There is so much packed into this tiny lot! It took us, at minimum, 30 minutes to look around, and I'm sure we still didn't see everything. Every time I turned around, there was something else I hadn't seen! A fun little adventure worth trying.

If you are ever in Wichita, I highly recommend a stop at Gary’s place. He was there when I pulled up. We had a great chat. He didn’t start creating until he retired. His creations and our conversation inspired me! It’s mostly salvage and everything is so detailed and unique. Plan on spending some time looking around. Worth brining cash if you feel like supporting his work (he doesn’t have Venmo)

In addition to the captivating outdoor artwork, there are diverse shops offering various media and textiles, making it a cool spot to visit for an artistic experience outside of the city's historical center.
There are some great small businesses, artists and cool apartments along Commerce Street. I am the owner of 3 of these buildings that people consider their creative outlet or a free pallette. I have not given permission to anyone to paint, tag, or create art. While some of it is quite good, most is not and I don't want it on my property in any way.
