Mexican restaurant
Family restaurant
Acapulco Taquería Mexicana is a casual eatery with an open kitchen where you can watch the preparation of their signature al pastor pork. The restaurant prides itself on serving authentic Mexican cuisine, eschewing Tex-Mex fare in favor of dishes like al pastor and lengua tacos, cochinita sopes, and more. Despite its unassuming location behind a pawn shop, this spot is known for some of the best Mexican food in Puerto Rico.
Wow, everything is very tasty and delicious, from drink to tacos and bowls to desserts. My favorite food was Quesabirria, it’s somehow like a large taco that comes with shredded beef which is perfectly marinated and cooked, it is absolutely one the best food I’ve ever had; it was so delicious that I came back again 2 days later. Staff are really friendly and the environment is pleasant too. I loved everything about this restaurant.
Amir K — Google review
Casual sit down taqueria, friendly team. Open air upstairs seating. The tacos took about 15-20 minutes to come, sort of a longer wait. I really enjoyed the steak taco on the left. Carnitas was very salty but the salsas complemented them well. Corn tortillas were good too.
Abigail O — Google review
The food was simple yet amazing. Each bite was delicious. Every taco ordered was a hit. Drinks were so refreshing and tasty. I truly recomend this little spot with great and quick service. The only hicup is parking, and the fact that it being a small establishment you might have to wait a few to be seated. But if you dondecide to go you will not regret the experience.
Christopher M — Google review
These were some of the best tacos ever! Even though you’re surrounded by good food this place is worth stopping at if you’re in the area. The prices, options, and service were all amazing :)
Taynasia’ — Google review
The tacos are so good !!! I got a burrito and two tacos it’s pricey but so worth it I think especially after a few drinks. I would definitely recommend!
Elizabeth R — Google review
Great taco place. Great service . Great coctails. And most important dog friendly! We had a delicious lunch and we will definitely come back. One star down because the churro machine broke, and we weren't able to have desserts.
Stacey M — Google review
My family and I came in to enjoy a nice meal around lunchtime — couldn’t have been better! My family and I are vegetarians, so finding authentic food that meets our restrictions is often difficult. Acapulco Taquería gave us a great meal during our visit. The food was fresh, the service was welcoming, and the atmosphere felt incredibly warm. Our favorite dishes had to be the guacamole, burritos, bowls, quesadillas, and churros. Each item was fresh and very flavorful, definitely recommend for anyone looking for a great meal!
Niharika — Google review
The food in this place is outstanding. It is one of the best places to eat tacos in the area. The Guacamole was very tasty. Margaritas were good but pricey, they didn't even serve it in the traditional margarita glass. The place got 2 floors, the second tends to be more crowded. Service was average, luckily we didn’t see the girl with red hair of the previous bad reviews. Parking on street, credit cards accepted.

Italian restaurant
Bocca Osteria Romana is a well-known Italian restaurant in Calle Loiza, which was founded by the Salvatore brothers after they left their family home in Italy and settled in Santurce. The restaurant is known for its delicious fresh pastas and wines, as well as its authentically Roman atmosphere.
Excellent food and service, by Bobby! The Boulevardier was among the best I ve tried. Ossobucco fell off the bone. So good. Will visit again.
Victor C — Google review
Overall, I had a great experience at Bocca Osteria Romana in Santurce. The service was excellent—very attentive—and the cocktails were amazing. I tried the Aviation, and it was so good I ended up having two. We decided to visit after seeing a few intriguing Instagram reels, and while the food looked great, the flavor didn’t quite live up to the presentation. Still, it’s a beautiful spot to enjoy time with family, friends, or for a nice date night.
Abner M — Google review
Unfortunately, this was our second and last visit to Bocca Osteria Romana. Despite arriving on time for our reservation, it took over 20 minutes before anyone came to our table. We ordered a bottle of wine, which was served at the wrong temperature—warm. After asking for it to be chilled, it was brought back nearly 20 minutes later and still not properly cooled. The appetizers arrived late and were cold. The restaurant was clearly understaffed, with only a few servers trying to manage a full house. When we asked about our main courses, we were told they would be out in 10 minutes. We waited 25 minutes, and the food never arrived. Only after asking for the check did someone admit that the dishes had not even been sent out yet. We had hoped things would have improved since our first visit, but sadly, the service was just as slow—if not worse. With so many excellent dining options in San Juan, there’s simply no reason to come back. Deeply disappointing from start to finish.
Juan A — Google review
This place has good creative cuisine. We had their gnocci, risotto, and eggplant. The food was really good. Service was good and ambiance was nice. Parking can be difficult depending on the time and day. It is a place I plan to come back to. They have a good variety of food and wine.
John N — Google review
TERRIBLE SERVICE & FOOD THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE RESTAURANT AND ALMOST MISSED OUR FLIGHT! Don’t come here if you want to wait damn near an hour and 30 minutes for your food! My group of 6 ordered some appetizers and we had to wait forever for those to come. It wasn’t until we finished 2 rounds of our focaccia bread with barely any water served that we asked to order our main course because I don’t think our waitress was going to take down our orders anytime soon. We ordered our main course and still waited an hour for that food to come. This is the most disappointing experience and food I’ve ever had in my trip to Puerto Rico. This place needs better service, better quality of food, and more attentive staff. The table next to me didn’t even finish their food either so we weren’t the only ones that got terrible food. We all felt neglected by the lack of service our waitress gave us and just wanted to get out of there and eat McDonald’s that’s down the street. We ended up taking our food to go, because we had to wait EVEN MORE due to them burning our lasagna. After eating the food at the comfort of my own home it wasn’t good at all, this food is way too acidic and pasta is undercooked. Come here if you want to flush your money down the drain if you ask me! If I could give 0 stars I would!
Adrian M — Google review
Even though it was short staffed, they gave us good service and it is a place with a good atmosphere. We tried the Pomodoro E Basilico and the Carbonara and the food was delicious, the pasta for me was on point and the portions were generous. Recommended! We have to return because we are looking forward to trying more dishes on the menu.
Will G — Google review
I went yesterday with my wife and the experience was amazing!!! Fresh focaccia made in house, which was great! I had fresh made gnocchi with gorgonzola sauce, amazing! My wife had the Pasta Amatriciana and it was amazing too. We finished with two glasses of sparkling wine and 80% Cacao lava cake with vanilla Ice cream, ridiculously good. Good wine selection, great service. Highly recommended!
E C — Google review
Everything was amazing! The foccacia is a must and the tirimisu!! My fav pastas were the raviolis and carbonara. All of them were phenomenal tho. The pastas are definitely sharing sizes if you aren’t too hungry. 10/10

We stopped here for a group dinner while on vacation and were treated to a great dining experience. Everyone enjoyed their dish and we tried quite a few things from the menu with a group of 9. Highlights were definitely the pork belly, the carrot cake, the fried rice with steak, and the filet.

The staff is very welcoming, and the food was outstanding! I love that they offer special dishes outside of the regular menu – such a nice surprise and absolutely delicious. Everything was full of flavor, and I can’t wait to come back.

This is a must in San Juan! The food was exquisite and the service was phenomenal! The cocktails are perfectly crafted. Every dish we had was excellent!

This is my favorite restaurant in PR! I eat here every time I visit the island and it is always the best meal of the trip. This time, it was my first stop after the airport! There is free street parking or you can pull into their lot for $8 valet parking (not sure where they put your car but we had all of our luggage inside and it was safe). You pay for valet in cash or PayPal. We arrived around ~6pm and there were plenty of tables but around 7pm it started filling up so I’d recommend coming earlier if you don’t have a reservation. The drinks were incredible and I appreciate that they also have a robust mocktail menu too! The menu is diverse and lots of options depending on what you were feeling. I always get the taco appetizers and they’ve never disappointed AND whatever avocado entree they have, it’s huge and delicious!! This time I also got the tenderloin which was juicy and well seasoned as well as goat cheese on bread which was a nice starter. The staff have always been friendly and welcoming! My partner speaks Spanish but I don’t (I’m slowly learning!) but most if not all of the front-facing staff I interacted with spoke English. However I appreciated that they were very nice and encouraging when I tried to order in Spanish haha. Thank you!! I didn’t get to meet the chef or kitchen staff (they were busy!) but full compliments to them as well! Already can’t wait for my next trip to PR so I can eat here again!!
Kalilah K — Google review
This was a fantastic meal and experience. Areyto staff were friendly, helpful, and made great recommendations. The food was full of flavor and well-portioned. Note. The menu is seasonal and rotates monthly. We went in October, and pumpkin was the ingredient of the month. We opted to get the soup of the day… a pumpkin bisque… which was fantastic. Also ordered corned beef croquettes and ahi tuna with coconut arepas. The croquettes were tasty and came with an avocado crema. I personally loved the arepas as they had a slightly sweet taste that paired well with the ahi tuna and green aioli, but my wife preferred the croquetes. Get them. Our entrees were delicious too. Wife got the filet mignon with truffled risotto. I ordered the chef special (fish of the day), which was Mahi Mahi with a pumpkin gnocchi and fried asparagus stalks. The fish was well seasoned and while it was a bit dry, the gnocchi and sauce hid the dryness. The star of the night was dessert. Pumpkin spice bread pudding. This was the best bread pudding I’ve ever tasted (and the only thing we took a picture of). Do not skip dessert! We ordered a cocktail and mocktail and both were good. All-in, great experience and a must visit restaurant while in SJ.
Reid T — Google review
Amazing service and food. Valet parking is $8 plus tip, and it's better than looking for parking in the area. Food was promptly served and with care. Great dishes and really tasty. Would come back.
Mefistofeles S — Google review
One of our best dinner experiences in San Juan. This chef owned restaurant is excellent. We had the Tuna tartare, Alcapurrias and the hanger steak. Everything was delicious, perfectly cooked with superb flavors. The chocolate bread pudding was the perfect ending!!! Our waitress Jehis was friendly and very helpful. Will be back
S U — Google review
I came here to celebrate my best friend's birthday, and we loved it! The waitress we had was so friendly (I'm sorry I don't know your name, but it was the nice woman with curly hair and glasses) and was able to help with accommodations to dietary restrictions and being able to modify drinks to our liking. The food was so yummy, I can't remember the last time I had steak so flavorful! Next time I come back to PR, will definitely come back!

Pirilo Pizza Rustica in Old San Juan is a must-visit spot for pizza enthusiasts. The restaurant offers a wide variety of creative pizza toppings and even features a cuatro leches cake on the menu. What sets this place apart is its second-floor seating area, which exudes a different ambiance with dark wood furnishings, vintage photographs, and high-backed seating.
Was looking for a pizzeria and after seeing there reviews decided to give a a try. Definitely worth the trip, ordered a pizza, lasagna and some Robert Mondavi wine. The pizza was amazing . Being born in New York I know a good pizza when I taste it. The place has a nice rustic look and the waitress was amazing as well. This be my pizza spot for sure.
Wilfred B — Google review
Looked a little shady from the outside but once you go up the stairs the restaurant has the cutest decor throughout! The staff was very attentive and the food was top tier! I had the fried eggplant with plantains and it was fresh and flavorful! My sister had the lasagna, was a little oily due to the cheese but overall it had good taste. My other sister had a pizza, great flavor. My older sister got the breaded chicken breast, it had good flavors but it was a little chewy in some parts. Would come back, enjoyed the experience and food.
Denise E — Google review
Don’t be put off by the dingy staircase entrance — it’s not the most inviting first impression, but once you reach the top, you’ll find a charming little pizza restaurant that’s definitely worth the climb. We had about a 30-minute wait for a table. The staff mentioned they’d call us when our table was ready, but we ended up checking back in after a short walk and were seated upstairs. The service was friendly and efficient, and the food came out in good time. We started with the arugula salad with balsamic dressing — fresh, well-balanced, and delicious. For mains, we ordered the chicken lasagna and a 16-inch pizza. The lasagna was delicious! Super cheesy! The great thing about their pizzas is that you can do half-and-half, so we went with pepperoni on one side and margherita on the other. My husband loved how cheesy the pizza was. I personally thought it could’ve used a touch more salt, but the flavors were still solid. Overall, it’s a great little spot for a casual date night — cozy atmosphere, good service, and tasty food. Don’t judge this one by the entrance!
Nina S — Google review
I have eaten at Pirilo but at the Dorado location and this Pirilo was a bit disappointing since the pizza was very thin like a sheet of paper both my pizza and my daughters, if I were to visit again it would only be in the Dorado location. Sad I like to help the local businesses but you know what you are serving before it get to the table. This is the only positive I took. the restaurant has a very nice setup
David D — Google review
Don’t be shocked by the entrance. At first we were not impressed by the service. We waited quite a bit to even place a drink order. When we finally did, and had been waiting our waiter came back and asked what we ordered for drinks? I was like this is bad, so that order never got placed. Another 20 minutes, finally order calamares and our pizza La Pampa 10”. The couple next to us, was leaving and asked what was taking our food so long and stated he would send over his favorite go to person there. That’s when the evening got so much better. Carlos was our savior and was so kind/polite. He took care of us and didn’t disappoint. Thank you Carlos for taking such good care of us. The carrot cake was excellent. We will definitely be back and ask for Carlos.
Jamika — Google review
Definitely top notch pizza! We arrived to find a line of ten people deep outside the door of the restaurant. It took about 30 minutes to get seated once we got our name on the list. Staff were friendly and service was fast. Their prices were average for the area. We got two pizzas and each was packed full of flavor. Overall it was worth the wait as the all the food was delicious!
Coach T — Google review
I heard really great things about this pizza place so I decided to try it out while in Old San Juan. Here’s my thoughts. The pizza itself (while took some time however it was a busy Sunday night so that’s expected) was amazing. One of the best I’ve had so far while living on the island. We got the mushroom pizza and while it’s not my favorite, I loved it. I would absolutely get it again. The service was a little lacking. Our server got us drinks and then stopped back after we were all done and wanted the check. I would have to say it’s a close 5 stars however the service would have checked all the boxes.
Brandon S — Google review
The food was really good. I had pepperoni pizza. My friend had the dish with sausage and fried cheese. Our server was polite. She agreed to move us when we asked not to sit by the kitchen.

Bistro Café is a popular American cafe located in Isla Verde, Puerto Rico. Known for its great breakfast menu, the café offers a variety of dishes including huevos rancheros. With a cozy atmosphere and friendly service, Bistro Café is a favorite spot for locals and tourists alike. The café's location makes it convenient for visitors staying at nearby hotels such as Courtyard by Marriott Isla Verde Beach Resort.
I understand why this restaurant is so highly rated! We came as a group of 4 without a reservation on a Sunday and it was packed! Fortunately, we did not have to wait very long and the host was able to accommodate us. Please please try the guava cream cheese French toast! It was the best French I’ve ever had! Well balanced, dense in flavor but light and sweet in taste. I also had the mimosa with tequila and watermelon juice and I only needed one! The service was amazing and the food came out relatively quickly as well! I would recommend making a reservation especially if you are coming on a weekend! But this was a great spot for drinks and food!

We had a great experience at Bistro Café! First thing to know: the portions are HUGE, so definitely plan to share or come very hungry. We ordered: • A waffle with Nutella, chocolate, and fresh fruits • A croque madame • A chicken sandwich with fries We also got two fresh juices and a coffee. Everything was delicious—the food was flavorful, and the presentation was beautiful. The service was really nice, and the decor of the place added to the good vibes. We paid around $90 total, which felt reasonable considering the portion sizes and overall prices in Puerto Rico. Would definitely recommend it for a fun, filling, and visually pleasing breakfast or brunch spot!

If you’re coming to Puerto Rico visiting this cafe is a must i’m so happy right now the people, the environment, the change of pace nothing compares to other cities in the us. Puerto Rico is a dream coming true mind you they ask you if they can take a picture and even have it ready for you. Puerto Rico has my heart can’t wait to come back. Thank you bistro cafe for this experience.
Ruthmel G — Google review
We visited twice during our week's stay in Puerto Rico. Each time, our wait for a table (for a party of 2) was less than 10 minutes. The food was absolutely amazing each time, and so were the beverages. Service was good. We really enjoyed our server during our second visit. She was more attentive to our needs and personable. Whereas the server during the first visit seemed really rushed and short in communication. Our food was brought in a reasonable time considering how busy it appeared each visit. Food portions were large, and we found ourselves having leftovers each time. Parking was challenging to find each visit, but if you ride around in a circle long enough, eventually, a parking spot will become available.

Parking was a bit tricky at first, but the bartender kindly helped us out so we wouldn’t get a ticket, huge help! The food was fantastic, honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. Everything was on point. We especially loved the chip sauces of the totopos, and the elote was also amazing. Our main dishes were full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The drinks were a total hit too, efinitely one of the best micheladas I’ve ever had. Dessert was good as well. All in all, we absolutely loved the place and we’re already planning to come back.

Our last night in PR and this momma and daughter made us feel more at home than ever. The drinks, food, and service were perfect. The owner made me feel like her own son, and her daughter was the sweetest/perfect waitress you could ask for with a ton of knowledge of Puerto Rico. I will go back every time we are in PR, just to see them. Don’t get me wrong the food and drinks were enough, but they really took it over the top with their hospitality!

My server was great, and took care of my table exceptionally well I really wish I remembered her name to call and give her a compliment although I did that night. She was spot on, didn’t have to wait for anything, she even packed up our leftovers for us. Great recommendations as well. Sushi was great, dumplings were amazing, and dinner was to die for. Would highly recommend for a casual fine dining experience. My only qualm was that the lobster tail was extremely over cooked. Be aware they do have a dress code that doesn’t allow beach wear or clothing that is too revealing.

Tremendous value and fantastic service. The cocktails, food, and service were all exceptional, especially for the price. Our server was gracious and very helpful. My wife ordered a rum punch and I had a Barralito old fashioned. They were excellent. For an appetizer, we had the chicken dumplings (fried). They were light and delicious. We ordered the Kom Po Chicken and Silk fried rice. Both were fantastic. This was our first meal on our first night in Puerto Rico and we'll be back. Highly recommend this restaurant.

The food was as expected. Nothing to rave about. Food came out quick. Server was AMAZING . They continued to refill our water. We only had 3 appetizers and split a small entree. The bill total was $51 before tip. We didn’t get to try any of their drinks. The atmosphere was beautiful. Great lighting and fixtures. We ordered the steamed chicken dumplings that were very tasty. The Vietnamese springs rolls were pretty good too, the crushed peanuts on this dish were a great touch. Also had California rolls as appetizers. Very good as well. Exactly what was expected. I did find that entree a bit underwhelming. Seems like they used a short grain rice to fry the rice instead of a long grain. Maybe the wok wasnt as hot as it’s supposed to be as the color of the rice seemed to come from soy sauce instead of the frying process. The protein of this dish was tasty. Other than the short grain rice being used , this place was pretty good. I would come back and try other dishes like the noodles next time

5 stars all around. Jason, my server was polite, relatable, poised, and professional. It’s a lost art of serving at the high level and he nailed it. As per his recommendation I ordered the Philly roll and the combo noodles (I forget the name of the dish) it could have been easily shared with someone as it was a lot. I throughly enjoyed myself at silk and I can’t wait to go back.

This was my first time ordering from this restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the mandarin chicken with egg fried rice which was good but the dish would have been excellent if it had the traditional fried rice. The chicken dumplings were delicious as well as the unagi nigiri. I would definitely try them again.

After a long day of swimming at the beach, there was nothing more I wanted than some authentic Chinese cuisine. After reading the reviews online I decided to order in… needless to say, the food was disappointing and tasteless. The egg fried rice was soft and bland, just boiled rice with eggs, with no flavor. The mandarin chicken was alright…The eggroll was also tasteless, I hardly finished one, and could not eat the other two. The lo mein was pale, lacked sauce, salt, and was tasteless 🤦‍♂️ Not sure if they were having a bad kitchen day, but this was not good at all. The pictures are of all the food I ended up discarding. I also think the food made me sick… was not well after… But I won’t force that on them.

We were pleasantly surprised. I thought the sushi was every bit as good as the large hotel places without the large hotel prices with a more charming environment. Dined with my wife and three young adult children.

Mexican restaurant
If you're on the hunt for authentic Mexican cuisine in Puerto Rico, look no further than Aurorita. Nestled in the vibrant Puerto Nuevo area of San Juan, this casual eatery has been delighting locals and visitors alike since the 1970s. With a diverse menu that features everything from hearty tortilla soup to flavorful huevos rancheros and an array of burritos, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Don't miss out on their delectable desserts or refreshing drinks like margaritas and local beers.
Very delicious food! My husband and I ordered a virgin Pina colada and a single serving of chicken fajitas. The Pina colada was so delicious! I don't even care for coconut, but the pineapple coconut flavors just worked so well together. The fajitas were delicious as well and one serving was enough for the both of us. (We weren't stuffed by any means, but satisfied. Sharing a meal is a great idea if you aren't super hungry.) Service was excellent. The restaurant was super busy and loud, but we never had to wait long. Our food came out within 5-10 minutes of ordering, which is amazing! The atmosphere was incredible. A mariachi band was playing and singing and everyone was hyped up. It was a lot of fun.

Well for starters the chips were stale and the only salsa they had was spicy. We ordered 2 quesadillas 2 carnitas tacos and 3 carne asada tacos .quesadilla came in 2 small flour tortillas. The Carnitas were dry. The carne asada was good but they offer no hot sauce or any taco suaces at this restaurant so the tacos are dry as hell. You have to pay extra for sour cream or pico de gallo. Restaurant is a total ripoff. Only come here if you’re ready to be disappointed.

Oh my god. I think this might have been the worst meal I've ever had IN MY LIFE. This wasn't just bad, this was next level awful. The only logical conclusion I can come to is that someone at some point tried real Mexican food, and then they told some chefs about it and they tried to recreate it. And then those chefs left and hired new people that had never cooked before but showed initiative, and then they tried to recreate those chefs recipes. And then they left and hired people who had never cooked before and these ones didn't quite show the same initiatives, but they showed up and were pleasant enough so they got the job. And now through this complex game of food-telephone, we have whatever this is...some weird take on Mexican food made by people who have never had actual mexican food. Just look at the photos. If you've had real mexican food, you can tell immediately that this is going to be a disappointment. The guac...was not guac. Go to Pueblo and buy the cheapest pre-made guac, and it would be a huge improvement from this. The tortillas were inedible. Gross. The meats were dry and gross. Tomatoes weren't ripe. It's just shocking how terrible this food was. BUT, the saving grace...the employees were all super nice. The service was fast, they were great. The drinks were great. It's just the main reason for going there...the food...is quite possibly the worst mexican food in the world.

This place has been in business for a very long long time. A true and tried classic when it comes to Mexican Food in the Puerto Rico Metropolitan area. Service was fast, friendly, & courteous. Prices are very reasonable. Watch out for their Margaritas!!! Not your fancy huge fish bowl colorful type. I only had one with my meal and I was most definitely feeling it.

You might be judgemental if you're a big tex-mex fan. Overall it was a good meal.

Food and service were excellent. Only negative was the music was a tad too loud. It was hard to hold a conversation with those at our table because of the loudness. Would definitely return. Good experience.
Luis C — Google review
Tourists, beware. Don’t let the beautiful décor fool you—this place is all style and no substance. Yes, the restaurant is pintoresque, the bathrooms are clean, and the service is genuinely good (shout-out to the kind waitress who did her best), but the food is honestly terrible. I left almost everything on the plate. You’d have a far better experience at Taco Bell. The music inside was so loud it was hard to think, let alone talk. I tipped well out of respect for the staff, but I won’t be coming back. To the owner: please taste the food you’re serving. The atmosphere deserves better.

Café Gran Batey is a relatively new coffee plantation in Puerto Rico, established in 2003. Located in Utuado, it specializes in producing Arabica coffee upon request and is known for its unconventional bean processing techniques. While currently primarily focused on fulfilling online orders due to ownership transition and farm revival efforts, visitors can still arrange tours by calling ahead. The plantation is being studied by the non-profit organization IALA-PR for implementing sustainable farming methods.
If you are looking for a down-to-earth coffee experience—not glam, but real—this is your place. There is nothing fancy about this place, just real coffee farming and roasting by an amazing non-profit research farm. Our host Daniela gave us personal attention, brewed coffee for us, and told us about the hacienda coffee ☕ history. No glam, but the beauty of the people who are dedicating their lives to care for the land and keep this tradition alive. Daniela, you have our respect for your dedication to your work and amazing coffee.

I highly recommend this place. We happened to stumble upon it. They require an appointment, but when we showed up, we were invited to join the tour. We left the place feeling like part of the family. The coffee is amazing, and I will for sure continue to buy it online since they ship to you.

Lotty and Bernardo are not only kind and welcoming, but master class roasters. They are passionate about what they do and they do it with the environment in mind. BRING CASH to buy the coffee. Don't worry about calling ahead or making a reservation, just drop by and you'll be welcomed with a hot cup of coffee and a tour as if you're part of the family. What a blessing it is to meet and support people like Lotty and Bernardo!

Lovely little farm run by two charming people. They will serve you beautiful espresso, sweet corn cake and tell you stories. They share their facilities at certain times in cooperation with neighboring farms, have a layered, diverse planting, and are still recovering from the devastation wrought by Hurricane Maria. The coffee is rich and delicious, and they sell it online, ship all over the world.

Awesome experience, they made me feel like I was at my family’s house. Very knowledgeable about coffee and the process form start to finish. The best coffee I have had to date. You must call or text to confirm tour. They are open 10am-3pm. Get ready for amazing coffee and pound cake.

Decided to check this place out in Jan 21, 2023 while in the area. Glad we did! Lotty was there and more than happy to make coffee for us to taste and give us a tour. Luckily another couple showed up shortly after us and one of them spoke Spanish and translated for us. Lotty speaks a bit of English, enough for tasting and buying coffee, but the tour would have been hard to understand without translation help. Such a great experience, glad we choice Cafe Gran Batey as our coffee tour experience in this area!

Family run coffee plantation. The old man is a retired government agronomist who also grew up on his plantation and came back to run this place. Michigan State University has resident researchers on this plantation. A very personal guided walking tour was scheduled for us the day before and is my favorite Puerto Rico memory so far. Coffee is shaded by orange trees which adds great flavor to the coffee. Beans are sun dried and lovingly roasted. Don't even ask for a dark roast, that burnt stuff doesn't fly here. Bought four pounds of coffee and will order more on return to Indianapolis. Best tasting coffee ever. Love these people and this place in the Lares mountains with a view of sacred Taino mountain, very near the museum as well.

If you’re looking for a tour of a small family owned coffee farm… look no further! We had a fantastic time learning how coffee is grown and processed end-to-end. Great coffee! As a plus, the farm is less than 10 minutes away from a really cool Taino Indian historical site. [July 2021]

El Axolote is a personal favorite mexican restaurant on this list, because of their authentic street food menu. The food is delicious and the service is great. The only downside is that it can be busy so reservations are recommended.
Lovely lunch right after a soaking rain. The food was simple but tasty & portions generous. They were able to recommend things for me that were gluten free. Love the art!!!

We loved this place!! When we looked up places to go, this was in the top 3. My husband and I both got the flautanos, which is like a flauta, but more like a burrito, it was delicious. I definitely recommend getting one. We had a few drinks on the patio and just enjoyed the evening there.

Quaint, friendly staff, good food, quick service. Ordered the chicken tacos and the chicken tinga flauton. The flaunton was excellent. The tacos needed another layer of shells. Beans and rice were tasty! Staff was nice and friendly. Prices are reasonable. Will return!

Overall I’ll give it a C+. The ambiance is quite nice, the decor quite lovely and nicely distributed. However, it’s pretty obvious that they’re short staffed. We only noticed one guy at the bar who also served as a runner, and the waiter who seems a bit overwhelmed and forgot to put in my fish order tacos. By the time I got my meal, my friends had already finished theirs. They ordered the ceviche and the carnitas tacos which were both very goods my fish tacos were just ok, I wasn’t impressed, actually, my friends think it tasted like tilapia… 🤦🏻‍♀️. I didn’t take any photos of the food because I forgot. I do believe that when a mistake is made, like forgetting to put in my order and as a result arriving late, the restaurant should have the courtesy to at least offer a complementary dessert or coffee, which didn’t happen. I won’t be going back there anytime soon.

The food was tasty, but the server’s kindness was the best part of dining at El Axolote. We ordered the queso fundido, tacos de nopales, and the churros with ice cream. The tortillas were fresh and delicious, great paired with the queso fundido. The restaurant also has an fish tank with an axolotl inside, hence the name of the place. The server was attentive, very kind, and the best part of the experience, hands down. Thanks El Acolote! 🇲🇽

Excellent tacos and soup. The vibes are lovely and the staff are very nice and attentive. Prices are fine and the places is cozy and small. The art on the walls gives it a cool atmosphere. They're also making some great drinks. This will be one of my go to places for Mexican food in Santurce.

The employee's are very nice, courteous and knowledgeable about their menu. Our server was Carla, she went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable and made sure we had everything we needed. Drinks are very well executed like, the mixologist really knows what she is foing. Food was average and did not pair with the quality of the drinks. The ambient, music, lighting is appealing and the decor eclectic. All the chairs and tables are different and comfortable. All and all it was a good experience and will come back not for the food but for the whole package. Congratulations to the employees, they make this place shine.

This place has aaaaahhhhhhaaaamazing food and so reasonably priced! But not just that the owner Michelle is the gem of a person, we were visiting Puerto Rico from Indiana and right before we were go to airport we made our stop at this place to eat.we requested for food to be served fast as we had to take a flight. The food for *chef kisses* so delicious .After our meal we were rushing and accidentally locked our car keys inside our car. We literally had nothing on us not even phone or wallet. When we asked for help to Michelle ( the sweetest lady ever) she went above and beyond to help us ! While we were sitting tensed she quickly made her way to kitchen to squeeze out fresh lemon and ginger juice to comfort us. Not just that, she called the roadside help from her phone and made several calls to help us in this situation.we weren't carrying cash after we got our car unlocked( mind you this was done in record time of 15mins , she called her local guy to help unlock the car) we didn't have cash to give the guy. She ran to her cash counter to give us some cash while we paid her with our credit card to the restaurant bill! I was not expecting someone helping a stranger like this. Really amazing people!

It’s clear that the kitchen takes pride in what they do, and it shows on the plate. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, I highly recommend stopping by Las Nanas. Great service and amazing food make it a place I’ll definitely be returning to.

Generous portions—even the appetizers were large enough to share. The food was high quality and beautifully prepared, giving the experience a high-end feel. The staff were warm and attentive, and the space itself was stylish and inviting. My only minor critique is that the tables could be a bit larger to better accommodate the amount of food served. Overall, an excellent spot for elevated Mexican cuisine.

Worst food I've ever eat in PR. This was in the Puertorican place. $42 for this.... that was served in paper plates. The pernil was awful dry and seemed to be reaheated pernil in a the skillet. Yucas fritas were from a frozen food brand. Churrasco had no taste at all. The bistec had so bad seansoning. Man this is a very bad representation of puertorican food. It's very disrespectful to serve so bad food at a high price in a nice looking place. Don't ever eat here. It's a nice looking place to maybe have a drink and that's it.

La Plaza del Mercado de Santurce is a vibrant outdoor plaza in San Juan that transforms from a daytime farmer's market to a lively food and entertainment hub at night. During the day, it offers an array of fresh fruits for sale, creating a colorful and bustling atmosphere. At night, the marketplace comes alive with restaurants, bars, live music, and dancing.
An iconic place to visit when in Puerto Rico. On the weekends this place becomes an outdoor club. Tons of people visit to hear music, dance, eat and drink. They have various restaurants and bars to keep you happy. It is an awesome vibe. Plenty of lights, neon, and music. Parking is tough but they have various parking lots in the area. Drinks are cheap and the food is good.

If you go during the day, bars and many of the reastraunts are closed. There will be a market open with many fruits and vegetables. In the evening, every bar is pumping out music, and the tables are being used at most restaurants. You will find bands playing outside or karaoke. The real party doesn't even start until around 10 pm.

Although I wasn't able to experience La Placita during the day and enjoy the variety of fresh fruits typically available, I did have the opportunity to explore its vibrant nightlife. Very good place. Not quite Mexican food because it is very Boricuanized, but it was still amazing food. The chorizo was bomb, the refried beans had amazing flavor. The salsas weren't spicy at all, but still had really good flavor. The Al Pastor was not the Mexican version, but still had amazing seasoning... A little pricier than what I'm used to in California, Nevada, Texas, and Arizona, but definitely worth the price... I would highly recommend it. Oh and the service was 5 stars, too... And the place is nice and clean... Yeah, a must try... And for me it's the best of both worlds (I'm a Puerto Rican raised around Mejicanos), so definitely a returning spot for me.

Great tasty food and relax atmosphere. The only thing is that they still not selling alcohol since they don't have their liquor license. We had queso fundido as an appetizer, lamb tacos de birria con cosome as main dish and for dessert we had the churros. We end up paying $52 including 15% tip, mind you this was for two people.

Food was ok. Service was terrible although the restaurant was quite empty. Workers also thought we did not notice them trying to “discreetly” point at us and talk about us. Also got irritated because they had my order wrong. Very bad experience overall.

Sunday afternoon delicious Mexican food! For appetizers corn on the cob! Artesanal beer! For main dishes torra de cochinita and keto bowl! Washed down with coki artesanal beer, wonderful! Deserts churros and vanilla ice cream and fried cheese cake all to die for! Pleasant and quick service! Affordable prices! Fenomenal!

I live in Boston and visit this area every summer. The one restaurant I consistently return to is Callejeros—the same one you’re describing. The service is always excellent, and the food is absolutely amazing. Upon arrival, you’re free to sit wherever you like, which adds to the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. While the prices may be on the higher side, it’s truly one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. Y CARLA LA EMPLEADA ES LA MEJOR EMPLEADA QUE AHY.❤️

Nacho Libre Cantina Mexicana in Hato Rey offers a casual and open-air atmosphere, making it a refreshing spot to enjoy Mexican cuisine. The food is well-presented and delicious, with recommendations for dishes like the bowl with proteins and mango hot sauce. The restaurant's aesthetic is wonderful, and the staff are friendly and helpful. While parking can be a bit challenging in the area, the overall experience of dining at Nacho Libre is highly praised by visitors.
Nacho Libre is a great spot for getting your Mexican in an open air and casual atmosphere among all the entrepreneurial and business-kind of companies it surrounded by. Feels like a breath of fresh air hanging out here. The food tasted great, it was well presented. The local was nice and clean and it aesthetic is wonderful. The only “problem” might be that is a bit hard to find a parking spot near the place but there are options for that to around the area.

I don’t usually leave reviews but this placed is terribly overpriced and the food was terrible. Rice was hard as if it was old. Potions were incredibly small, it looked empty. I would not eat her again

Good place, tacos were a little dry but once you add the sauces….. my god are they good. Try all the sauces they’re not as spicey as they say they are. I would probably come back at night, looks a spot to vibe, drink and eat. Would def recommend.

Loved this Mexican spot. Great quesadillas, and the tequila was simply wonderful. Definitely got a buzz! Also, the atmosphere is very welcoming and bartenders quite friendly.

First time coming here and got to say excellent the cashier was great I asked him what he recommended and explained everything, the food was delicious and the margaritas was perfection. I do also recommend the bowl with proteins. P.S don't forget to taste the mango got sauce. The only downside is that it's hard to find parking I spent 15 min. Wait and driving up and down. So go early
Josthen S — Google review
This is a good outdoor spot to hangout after work and drink some beers with friends. Food was below average and service was depending the waiter/bartender (some are rude and slow, others are helpful). Margaritas are average, i would recommend to try the beers bucket, this would avoid the waiting line in the bar.

If you're in Puerto Rico and seeking a delightful dining experience, look no further than Denko Asian Eatery, nestled within the lively Distrito T-Mobile. This vibrant eatery offers an impressive array of Asian dishes that cater to various tastes, including Thai, Chinese, and Japanese cuisine. Guests can enjoy sharing plates by selecting two meats alongside a side of noodles or rice, or opt for individual dishes that showcase the restaurant's culinary expertise.
We went here without a reservation and were seated immediately. We sat outside and everything we ordered was great! The server was awesome. The drinks were great and the food was even better. We decided to chill here before a movie and we are really glad we did. I would definitely come back and I would recommend anything off the menu. The only thing that I was not too happy about is that when ordering the hot pot you have to sit inside but other than that everything was great because we sat outside that’s why I decided not to wear the hot pot.

this was a really nice restaurant. i mostly wanted to visit because of the food conveyor system, it was really neat. the food was really good and fresh and no complaints on the food quality or atmosphere. at the end there was some problem with the payment system on their end but there’s an ATM near by if you need… maybe just grab extra cash. enjoyed this place overall. worth the visit

Really enjoyed the rocket service and our waiter was great! The drinks were really on point, my kids got bobas and I got a cocktail that was amazing! Food was tasted good but portions for the amount were so small compared to what we have been experiencing in San Juan and surround areas. We got sushi and the Pho, and they gave us like five pieces of thinly sliced beef. For the price I would have expected a little bit more.

People are nice-. Food is ok. Expect little to no service. Also don’t get why this places offer No refill. Don’t even ask if you want something else. Personnel need training rush. They expect huge tips with no service. Pho is like local flavor no bad but nothing alike the a good pho you’ve eaten before. Mongolian is like a pepper steak. Boricua roll was good.

While in Puerto Rico I stopped by this little Asian-inspired bistro and was blown away. The stand outside has a small but excellent menu, and inside you’ll find even more great options. The highlight was Nesmary at the stand; full of energy, polite, and truly refreshing. She not only gave fantastic menu advice but also shared fun island tips that made the visit even more special. Great food, amazing service, and a memorable stop I’d highly recommend!

We were the first ones to arrive 30 minutes after they opened. 15 minutes later the place was packed. Service was terrible. Ordered waters, but didn’t receive them until half of our meal was eaten. Surprisingly we did receive our food first delivered in a neat conveyer belt system. Food was good, the only saving grace. Server took forever to bring our bill. We wanted it split into two, server disappeared for 15 more minutes. Other people with larger parties received theirs and left during this time. During this, we finally get a refill on our waters. Dude finally came back after several parties left before us.

Many picnic tables with tenting up. Great for kids and Pets. The views are great! Must visit again, to eat and drink. Extensive menu, with a menu for children and Vegetarian people. Handicap parking and entrance, with tables to accommodate. Great for large groups, and or Birthday parties; or any party. String lightning was seen; so at nite you can see!

Stopped there on one of our roaming trips around the island. Ordered the pina colada, which was not great, but the passion fruit mojito was delicious. Portions are gigantic, and the food is delicious. Service is nice. The place is located right next to the highway, very easy to spot when you drive by.

Absolutely delicious. Definitely family oriented. Atmosphere was family type. Home cooked type. All fresh to order. I rate it a 5☆. I stopped for gas off the HWY & adjacent was this super clean cozy eatery on the way to the Arecibo Observatory which was 40 minutes away. This day with the view, the food & tour in Arecibo had to be my best day out of all the days in Puerto Rico. The staff is excellent. Got the VIP treatment as everyone of the other customers. If ever near this area its a must stop. The Octopus soup was amazingly just perfect. The pork chop, salad, Green Platains/ Tostones. All was perfect & cook &/ or owner came out to chat w/ us a bit. Restrooms were extremely clean down this pretty walkway. Prices were great! The Bar area & decor in general had a nice touch of wood & very cozy.

Tuluum 110 is a vibrant Mexican restaurant with colorful walls and lively decor, offering an upbeat atmosphere for locals to enjoy margaritas and mezcal while listening to live acoustic music. The tequila bar is known for its strong and reasonably priced margaritas, especially during the all-day happy hour on Wednesdays.
Walked in as a party of 7 from the states around 745 on a Thursday. Welcomed & seated right away. Ordered the nachos for an app, definitely a must. Had a few margaritas. Cucumber, passion fruit, mango and pineapple. Absolutely delicious. Some of us got fish, shrimp and skirt steak tacos and split them each. Others got the steak quesadilla, tostadas, pollo burrito & birria tacos. Everything came out fast, except birra which I think just got overlooked when placing order but well worth the wait. Had churros for dessert. Had a back yard patio as well. Bathrooms were odd, must have been a house as there were bathtubs in them but didn’t matter😂. Very very good food. Would go back again!
Jen B — Google review
Tuluum Mexican Food is a small to medium sized restaurant. Seems cozy for small family get-together. The parking area upon arrival is also medium-sized, no markings, so everyone parks were you can fit. They have outdoor and indoor seating. Walls all have different decorations. Waiters are friendly and polite, somewhat knowledgeable of the menu. Food took a while, but keep in mind that it's cooked to order. Plates came one at a time making it hard for us to eat all together. The dishes were presentable but the food was not hot or warm. I specifically asked for no vegetables in my tacos and had to give back so that they could remove them. The taste of food in general was not bad. The lemonade was not to my liking at all. They tasted more like they had alcohol than lemon. Not the best, but also not the worst. I suppose it all depends on what you're taste buds crave for.
Kevin V — Google review
I used to frequent this place at least once a week when I lived on the island. The food was always hot and fresh. My experience last night did not pass the vibe check. The staff seemed confused but they were polite. We sat down and was immediately greeted and provided drinks. We ordered margaritas that were flavorful and reasonable priced. I ordered guacamole which turned out to be dip. It lacked flavor and looked like it was squeezed from a pouch. We immediately sent it back. I ordered 3 hard shell tacos with only shredded cheese. I had to send it back 2 times. First time it came out with veggies and cheese. Next time it came out with mushrooms and cheese. I just want taco shells and cheese!!! My partner ordered Tulim fries with onions and bell peppers added. Her food came out looking like a plate of vomit and without her onions and peppers. I think they made my tacos with her add ons. I was so disappointed. I literally Drove 2 hours to come patronize this restaurant. I remember the husband and wife owners who would sit at the end of the bar greet me in the past. Please make some changes to management when the owners aren’t present. I was so disappointed. Pic below is tulum fries.

Omg. Best Mexican I’ve had in AGES (maybe in my life?). Great fresh ingredients, lovely flavours, and first eco friendly restaurant I’ve been in Puerto Rico in the past three weeks (no plastic straws, cups, condiments cups etc). Highly recommend the nachos, fried cheese (wow) and any of the tacos! Their lemonade was also very refreshing, and they seem to have all types of margaritas as well though we didn’t try them this time.

Was excited to try the place out based on the reviews and pictures posted by previous customers, but never got a chance. When we walked in we were greeted and told to sit anywhere. 10 minutes later no one had come by to take or order, or check on us. This was at 8:20 on a Tuesday night, they were not busy at all, and they didn't close until 9:45pm.

this place is on the pricey side, my husband ordered a “snack sized alcapurria plate” in which there were 6 tiny alcapurrias the size of a tinier mozzarella stick… they were peculiarly small… yummy, yes, but tiny! The tabasco sauce was good too. Would’ve given a better review but if you’re from the island- you know you can get a whole alcapurria for cheaper elsewhere. We were only here to stop by to grab a snack but this was too much of a bite! 🤣

Review for Carbón y Leña I had an incredible dining experience at Carbón y Leña in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico! The pasta and churrasco dish was absolutely amazing—perfectly cooked pasta paired with a tender, flavorful churrasco, bursting with authentic Puerto Rican flavors and a refined touch. The portion was generous, the atmosphere was warm and family-friendly, and the staff was attentive, making us feel right at home. While some online reviews mention inconsistencies with other dishes, my visit was flawless. I highly recommend the pasta and churrasco! One suggestion for the restaurant: updating their social media presence would go a long way in spreading the word about their fantastic food and welcoming vibe. It’s a crucial tool for attracting more customers. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their menu!

We came on a Thursday night specifically for dancing, and it did not disappoint! Walked from our hostel, arrived around 11pm and there was a live band and lots of people dancing salsa. Mostly 30s-50s, excellent dancers, and super friendly and respectful. Great atmosphere, we were outdoors on the porch area the whole time. Seems like a mix of locals and visitors. Drinks were great and not too expensive for the area (rum and Coca Cola was ~$10). Fast bartender. There was a $5 cover (I think because of the live band). Awesome night! And we walked around some other spots in La Placita as well, which were more like clubs with DJs.

Nightlife is great in Delavida, it is what the place is for. The place looks very well maintaned with modern rustic accents and open spaces. They have an excellent bartending staff and their drinks are very good. Cannot say the same about their restaurant part. Going with some friends to the Sunday brunch, the service was poor, the staff did not remember our orders, we had to remind them! Also, they did not seem to be enjoying what they were doing. Food quality and presentation were good, though. With so much competition in San Juan, you can skip the eating here.

Pinky’s Condado is a popular spot in Ocean Park, Condado, and Santurce, attracting both tourists and locals. The cozy coffee shop offers frothy lattes, fresh fruit smoothies, and delicious healthy options. While seating can be limited due to its popularity, you can always opt for takeout and enjoy your bagel or breakfast sandwich at the nearby beach. The casual setting makes it perfect for breakfast, brunch, or lunch with relatively inexpensive prices.
Food was great! Drunken sailor eggs were worth every penny. Cuban bread...ummm! Bacon was perfect. Cafe con leche was delish... we had hot and cold. I also saw smoothies that looked really good. Line may be long as it is a small restaurant, but the hostess does an amazing job or moving everyone along.

5 stars. 10/10. Everything they are doing is working. It’s a veryyyy small place. Maybe about 6-7 tables so get take out if you can’t find a table. The service and food were amazing. I’m so happy they have a couple more locations. They need a couple more honestly. My Cuban sandwich was everything I wanted and needed before an afternoon and evening full of drinking. Soft bread, sauces that tied everything together, and just a great server who took great care of us. Love this place.

We had breakfast at Pinky’s and really enjoyed it. We ordered a cappuccino, an espresso, water, and fresh orange juice. My husband had the filet mignon breakfast with scrambled eggs, salad, and bread, while I had scrambled eggs with spinach, tomato, and cream cheese, also served with bread. The service was great — our waitress was very friendly — and the food was delicious, especially the bread. We paid about $50 in total. Overall, it was a very nice breakfast and we left happy.

You'll get lots of food cheap, but don't expect a gourmet breakfast. Regardless, it's a much better value than your hotel. The six egg burrito was huge and filling, but it didn't have much flavor. The French toast was also huge, but had a faint funky taste. Note that there are no refills on coffee. Eat outside, the noise from the smoothie machine is deafening. The good news is that you will be so full, you can probably skip lunch, and possibly dinner too.
Ed P — Google review
Found Pinky’s whilst staying at the Marriott here on vacation. Short walk from the hotel This is a small place with limited dining seating and they focused on takeout. But you can get a table if you’re willing to wait. Their pancakes were about 12 inches each or maybe larger! Careful, don’t over order with kids! You can get white or wheat pan sobao, but wheat bread is extra they don’t tell you. We were hungry, so the pictures were just a quick snap with the phone so we can get these for a post everybody wanted to eat!

Great tasting food! I love how well they season their food. They do great at creating drinks and the food was esthetically beautiful. . . Muy bein, tip the Chef

So tasty! I also had one their margaritas, it was very refreshing! The birria tacos are easily one of the best in town. The nachos are very delicious and filling, the mix of cheese, meats and other ingredients makes it the perfect choice for an appetizer. Highly recommend!
Isaac M — Google review
One of my favorite restaurants in Puerto Rico one of the only ones I have been to more than once since arriving two months ago. Everything I have had has been delicious but do yourself a favor get the Birria it is spectacular.
Ares T — Google review
Food was amazing, great taste. The decor is good. The appetizer " queso fundido" with nachos are delicious. The Birria plate tacos, the fajitas carne asada and the flautas plates are very delicious. Ahhh the Strawberries, passion fruit and the Pama Margarita are very delicious. I recommend go slowly because they are very slow to serve the food.
Joandaly R — Google review
Extremely welcoming staff, uplifting environment, superb food. Juan Gabriel‘s music playing didn’t hurt either. My server was amazing.
Jaime M — Google review
Love the food. Queso fundido with chorizo... amazingly delicious. Refried beans, 10 points; smooth with a distinctive flavor that is to die for. The flautas and chimichangas were delicious. Highly recommend it. The service was incredibly fast, New York style fast. This is a great Tex-Mex restaurant.

Puerto Rican restaurant
Spanish restaurant
La Mallorquina, located on Calle San Justo 207, is a historic restaurant that has been around for over 170 years. The recent renovations have given it a beautiful atmosphere with polished floors and old mirrors dating back over 175 years. The staff is friendly and the non-alcoholic mojitos are highly recommended. The seafood variety, including shellfish and red snapper in a rice and tomato stew, is delicious.
Drinks, Ceviche, and Shrimp Mofongo were all very good. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient, plus it was easy to get a table on a Saturday! In 2023 they also had live music that enhanced the ambiance. I really don’t understand why their Google rating is under 4.0. My wife have visited Old San Juan 3 times in 4 years and we’ve eaten here 5 times, 3 lunches and 2 dinners. Drinks, Food, Service, and Atmosphere are all very good, especially for their price point! In June-2025, we enjoyed drinks and a snack.

3 out of 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great Drinks, Long Wait, Tourist Prices Our family of five had lunch on Christmas Eve 🎄and while we were seated quickly, the wait for food was nearly three hours. A tour group that arrived after us even got their to-go orders first, which was a bit frustrating. The drinks were excellent. We enjoyed a variety of daiquiris, piña coladas 🥥 lemonades 🍋 and passionfruit juice For food, we ordered Grill Master Churrasco 🥩 Red Snapper 🐟 and rice, salad and red beans 🫘 were our sides 🍚 The rice was tasty, but the churrasco was undercooked and the snapper was dry. Portions were decent, but prices felt inflated for the quality 😕 The atmosphere was nice, and the friendly staff helped make up for some of the delays 🙂 Overall, it’s a historic spot worth visiting for drinks and ambiance, but the menu needs an update, and they could benefit from more staff to manage the high demand. If you plan to visit, order drinks and appetizers immediately, and expect to wait. Make sure you’re in good company, have plenty of patience, and order drinks and appetizers right away to make the wait more manageable.

The service was very friendly. The food was tasty we had the empanadas and pastele. The building, like all in Old San Juan is very old and this is one of the oldest. It has great history that was shared by the bartender like how in the late 1700s it was a brothel and there are under ground tunnels that lead to the church that the clergy men would use to Come and go without being seen. There are two giant mirrors that were gifted by the king and queen os Spain in the 1800s. Very interesting and we enjoyed it.
Amanda W — Google review
Let's start off with the building. Its one of the oldest in the area. It has a ton of history inside. The front staff were all super friendly and the guy behind the bar even shared history of the area. Thats about where it stops at. I ordered a smash burger that was supposed to be mixed with plantains. It was just another frozen burger that was really over cooked and had zero flavor. It was so dry that I had to start dipping it in extra ketchup. The fries are just store bought frozen ones. My wife ordered mofongo. She said it had zero taste also. The chicken didn't look good. She didn't even eat it. The kitchen service is super slow. For two simple dishes it took roughly 20 minutes to get our food. And we were the only ones in there. We definitely feel cheated with this place. It has the chance to be something really great if the right people took it over. We spent $65 on 2 drinks, 2 meals and 1 salad. Definitely isn't worth the money. We will never be back. Do yourself a favor and go to one of the higher ranked restaurants in the area. Unless you like over priced no flavor food.
Matthew P — Google review
Very overpriced, flavorless food. It's a tourist trap. There was a reason that is was mostly empty during lunch. The hostess did warn us about the limited service which was appreciated. So we knew it was going to be slow. We ordered the paella, chicken mofongo, funky chicken, chicken tenders, and beef empanadas. It was all flavorless. The one thing that was decent were the empanadas. The building is beautiful though so I will rate the atmosphere higher for that.
Vanessa J — Google review
This restaurant boasts itself as the oldest restaurant in the Americas. The building and the decor definitely attest to that. The staff were very friendly and the service was good. The food was ok, not very note worthy. The Piña Colada’s were very good. Prices were moderate. If you are visiting in the summer time recommend making reservations or calling ahead because it does get full of tourists. The place was a little dingy, there were pigeons walking around the dining room and under the tables and the staff did not bat an eye. Overall experience was quaint and ok. There is no parking here.
John B — Google review
We were the only ones there (around 4 pm). They accept reservations and we kept getting late so we kept pushing it and didn’t end up needing g one in the end since we kinda had the restaurant to ourselves by then. The server ( the lady) is very very helpful, considerate and respectful and made our visit amaizng. The food was okay. The paella’s are great, the mofongo was good too. The wings could use more flavour and attention. Overall relatively costly but a good place to start developing your Puerto Rican taste buds.
Riddhi B — Google review
Zero reasons not to give this 5 stars! The food was fantastic! (My daughter said they were the best empanadas she’s ever eaten). The atmosphere and decor brought you back to the day it was built. Prices are very fair, especially for the quality. We will be back.

Mexican restaurant
There are numerous restaurants in Puerto Rico claiming to serve Mexican cuisine, but most of them are not authentic. However, one place that stands out is Bandolera Restaurante Mexicano. Upon entering, you'll notice the lively music and attractive decor, along with friendly staff. Their homemade tortillas caught our attention and we decided to give it a try. To our delight, the tacos came with a spicy salsa infused with a hint of chipotle.
Mexican food in Puerto Rico? Yes there’s lots of restaurants claiming to be Mexican in the area, Are those authentic? Most are not. This place was interesting though, the music, the decor, the nice staff. We saw they have home made tortillas and decided to stop. My Mexican husband was hoping the tacos would have a spicy salsa and it was! spicy with a hint of chipotle. The place was clean and they asked for face mask and had us spray hand sanitizer before coming in. They took a long time to bring our food (just 2 tacos) so I would like to think it’s because it was made fresh to order. The food was actually really good! Best Mexican we’ve had in PR. We’ll be back!
Lorena S — Google review
We gave this place a try, and it was not bad at all. Our server was excellent, she kept the margaritas coming. Our food was good but missing that hot spice. The tortillas need some work. Had a great time with family and friends.

If you're looking for awesome Mexican food in mayagüez this place is the one. The food is awesome with excellent flavor , the portions are really good specially the burritos. Is a awesome place to go with the family or friends. Is really good located and is easy to find. I totally recommended.

From scratch, farm to table Mexican restaurant and cantina. Fresh plantillas everyday. Best Mexican restaurant in Mayagüez Puerto Rico and top three in my opinion island wide. Waitresses are very charming and professional. Excellent service, great food, good prices, authentic experience. If you are around the town of Mayagüez you must try it.

I ordered tacos and Mexican rice through way of munchies.the order was 50 dollars for 2 orders of steak tacos and Mexican rice.the tacos were garbage and had a weird sweet taste like a bbq pulled pork .they called and said they were out of corn tortillas but used crapes instead of flour tortillas shells.and were so stingy with a side of rice that cost as much as the bag of rice it came from.never again .no thank you .in my review photos look at the size of taco in relation to the size of my finger .was this a kids meal?🤔
Anthony C — Google review
A little pricey, and the food was average, but the frozen margaritas are amazing!
Eigel — Google review
Pretty good service. There is ko kids menu though! However the suggestions for the kids were great. We order margaritas, pina colada, fajita trio and a carnita burrito. Its a small restaurant located outside the town center. Parking is very spacious located right next to the restaurant.

Nestled in the cobblestone streets, La Güerita is a hidden gem that offers a delightful culinary experience. The chicken and guacamole burrito is a must-try, complemented by excellent service and an opportunity to pick up some Spanish phrases from the bartender. This local bar provides a change of pace from the touristy spots near the port. With flavorful taco specials and attentive service, it's worth seeking out Carlos for an exceptional dining experience.
I enjoyed this place. Came here on a promotional Gustazo and food was very good. I recommend to try the El Pastor tacos but the 3 I had, I enjoyed them all. I would come back when visiting Old San Juan.

TOURIST TRAP - Overpriced and mediocre food with a tiny menu. Tiny plastic cups of salsa and the tortillas were stale and hard. I know decent options for lunch are limited in the touristic old San Juan area but you can do better than this. For real Mexican go to Acapulco or for a better place in old San Juan try the Avocado restaurant
Sam S — Google review
This was the absolute best Mexican food I have ever eaten in my entire life. The meat was tender and flavorful, the salsa was fresh, and the three sauces available were something I'll never forget. If you visit San Juan, you news to eat here.
Diet D — Google review
Food had ok taste, and it took a very long tine and they brought each persons food out as it was ready, meaning the last plate came out 10 mins after the first one. All of our food was served on wood, but one was came on a styrofoam plate which was very odd. The "Horchata" drink was authentic and full of flavor, but overpriced.
White L — Google review
Great taco specials, make sure you ask for Carlos(waiter) he took great care of us. Tacos were very very flavorful. Be care full with the hot sauce though. Unless you are use to Caribbean or African pepper, the hot sauce might be a bit too much for you. Other than that, the service and food were definitely great!
Brian G — Google review
The picture doesn’t do justice to the burrito, but the chicken and guacamole burrito was fantastic! The service was great, and the bartender helped us learn some usual Spanish phrases as well. A nice atmosphere, and a change from the “tourist” bars close to port. This is a little walk, but worth it to get a little more local bar.

We absolutely loved it and highly recommend a stop at this family owned place. They have great coffee and lunch foods including plantains and rice&beans which were fantastic. They open at 7am and have some of their to-go foods ready to take as well. We stopped by again for breakfast and got Surullitos which were delicious. Place was also extremely clean and lots of tables available to relax and enjoy the food.
