Leaside Manor Suites & Executive Apartments is a refined Victorian B&B located in St. John's, offering luxurious rooms and suites, some with kitchens. The property features gardens, meeting rooms, and complimentary wireless internet access. Guests can enjoy views from the terrace and garden while taking advantage of room service during limited hours. The old merchant's home has been updated with contemporary touches such as big tubs, plush beds, fireplaces, sitting areas, and Jacuzzis.
Not knowing what to expect on our first visit to St John’s Leaside Manor was a real find. The staff were excellent and we enjoyed the convivial breakfast with a chance to meet other guests. The setting was very pleasant even though it was a little out of town. We would have no hesitation in recommending Leaside Manor for a delightful stay in St John’s.

The hotel is in a quiet neighbourhood about a 5-10 minute drive to downtown. Our suite had 2 floors and a kitchen and was spacious. Reasonably clean, but not spotless. Negatives were: a very narrow and extremely steep (treacherous) driveway entrance. Seemed to be understaffed. Breakfast service was slow. They were out of coffee at breakfast one day, and the next day just had a pot of hot water and instant coffee in a bowl. Would expect brewed coffee to be available at a bed and breakfast.
Judith C — Google review
Stayed 3 nights Breakfast was the Biggest issue 2/3 days they had no regular coffee. I had decaffeinated coffee and all the creamers were sour. Everyone (12) comes to breakfast at the same time (7-9:30) with one person cooking. Only OJ for 2/3 days. The room was nice.

Overall, we had a very good experience staying here. The room was extremely clean, and although outdated, well-maintained with a few minor issues. We stayed in the Bell Island Apartment. The room did have a few issues: temperature control with the wall unit didn't really work, the dishwasher was out of service and the couch's pull-out bed mattress was quite worn out and unusable, so one of us just slept on the couch during our stay. The daily breakfast was good, and the breakfast room was very lovely. It was great to connect with other travellers. The staff members were attentive, polite and caring. In terms of location, it is about a 5 minute drive in to downtown and 30 minute walk. We liked being tucked away a bit and found it easy to make our way into the city centre. Overall I would recommend staying here and look forward to returning sometime soon!
Shona G — Google review
Booked a room and conference room for my son and groomsmen to get ready for his wedding. Staff were fabulous. Great location. Outside areas offered ample space for pictures and various backgrounds. Breakfast was delicious. I gave an overall 4 star rating as the keypad lock on our exterior room door wasn’t working. The interior doors accessing our room were locked. It took several phone calls before we actually were able to speak with someone . Then they contacted the staff at Leaside Manor who came to let us in. Overall a 45 minute wait late at night. Not the way you want to end an evening.
Sharon S — Google review
Wow! We didn’t quite know what we were getting when we booked. Do yourself a favour and skip the big hotel chain and stay here. We arrived and were escorted to our room. The door was open - so inviting! We booked the Parker Suite! So beautiful!!! The bed was comfortable, the giant tub relaxing, and although we didn’t use the fireplace it was a lovely spot to sit and sip our complimentary wine (due to being hotels.com vip members). We needed something printed and they were most accommodating. Breakfast was bed and breakfast style at a large dining room table with other guests. Such a nice way to meet new people. One morning was eggs and sausage and the second day was French toast. It’s a short walk into town or a shorter taxi ride. Free parking behind the building. (most suites are not accessible)
Megg M — Google review
Our stay at the Leaside was great! Our suite was fully equipped, large and very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious! The location was quiet and convenient to downtown. I would definitely return to the Leaside.
Debbie B — Google review
Been going to this hotel many times over past 20 years. This time not pleased rooms are starting to be run down. Holes in towels dirt stains on them as well. Home in step entering room which is a safety hazard but putting all that aside upon booking we were quoted a rate and after check in our credit card was charged almost 200 dollars more than was quoted at booking and we were unable to resolve with hotel supervisor. Very disappointed

Inn
Neddies Harbour Inn is a charming country-style inn located in Norris Point, offering 15 simple yet comfortable rooms that blend seamlessly with the picturesque seaside surroundings. The inn features an understated design that allows the natural beauty of the location to take center stage. Guests can enjoy a complimentary breakfast and have the option to dine at the onsite Black Spruce Restaurant, which prides itself on using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. For those seeking more privacy, private cottages are also available for rent.
I stayed at Neddies Harbour Inn with my husband and one-year old daughter in May 2025 and we were very impressed with our stay. The room was large and clean, and the staff provided a playpen for our daughter. We loved the food at The Black Spruce Restaurant (our daughter especially liked the potato leek soup and seafood chowder), and we enjoyed beers on the patio with a great view of the park. The hotel is conveniently situated in the middle of Gros Morne Park, making it a close drive to great hikes in the area. We would easily choose this hotel again for a future stay in the area.
Aleksandra A — Google review
We loved everything about Neddies Harbour Inn! The staff is so friendly, the accommodations are lovely and comfortable, and the location is gorgeous. We rounded out each day with a glass of wine on the lovely deck or in the cheery sunroom and then had a delicious dinner in The Black Spruce restaurant! We highly recommend!
Jody H — Google review
An absolutely gorgeous little hotel right on the coast. Service was amazing, the restaurant was great, and the rooms very comfortable. I also really appreciated the sauna and hot tub after a long day of hiking
Gareth P — Google review
Room was spacious and very clean even if not super fancy (a bit plain). The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The restaurant was delicious and had vegan friendly options while we were there. The location is drop-what-you’re-doing gorgeous. The cozy sunroom was a great place to unwind after a day’s adventures with an interesting library, but really the view from the sunroom, its balcony, and the restaurant were show stoppers - need to see it to believe it. Super conveniently located - close to a lot of trails in Gros Morne.
Michael P — Google review
This place is INCREDIBLE! We loved our stay here and loved eating breakfast and dinner at The Black Spruce. The local artwork adorning all the walls and spaces is beautiful. The room is comfortable and spacious and the sunroom and deck are the perfect places to watch the sunrise. And to top it all off the people and the service they provide are top notch. We hope to return and stay longer!

My wife and I were travelling with another couple. This was a perfect location for us to explore the Gros Morn region and Rocky Harbour. Clean, comfortable, and central. Easy and convenient check-in and out process. Made for a great stay.
Rick N — Google review
Neddies Harbour Inn is a gem. Stunning location on Neddies point with to die for views for 180 degrees. The hotel has a beautifully crafted modern interior with the historic old building left intact. Spacious guest rooms with lightwood accents and huge bathrooms. And the restaurant serves the best food that we were able to find in Gros Morne, perhaps the summer season would provide more choice.
Roger W — Google review
I only used the spa here and it was perfect!! After hiking Gros Morne I thoroughly enjoyed the needed massage and the pedicure was one of the best I have had (and I am picky about my pedicures). Jennifer is a total sweet heart and has over 20 years experience. You will not be disappointed choosing to come here. I will come back when I am in the area.

The Ocean View Hotel, located in Rocky Harbour, Newfoundland near Gros Morne National Park, is a popular choice for travelers seeking comfortable accommodations with breathtaking ocean views. The hotel offers a variety of well-appointed rooms including standard and suite options. Guests can indulge in delicious meals at the luxurious Ocean Dining Room or enjoy a more casual atmosphere at the Anchor Pub. Visitors praise the clean and comfortable rooms as well as the delectable dining options available on-site.
Lovely location and well maintained. Nice there is a restaurant on premises since not many choices in town. Food was good but with as many people as come to the area it takes time. Room (king garden view) was nice sized and spotless. Garden view means not facing water or parking lot but fences in lawn area. Mostly quiet but could hear kids upstairs running out the door but not much else. Pub on site with a lively show. Did not affect our noise level.
Alexandra M — Google review
We stayed at the Ocean view hotel for 4 nights during our NL trip. Got the ocean view room on the main floor. The room was clean though a bit dated, but the beds were very comfortable and we slept well after our days spent hiking. We did not like the lack of privacy in the room with the drapes open. You had people literally walking/ leaving bikes/parking their cars right outside your window. We kept the drapes closed during the entire stay (so much for the ocean view). The bistro upstairs has stunning views of the ocean though! We had a few meals there and enjoyed the food and the sunsets.
Mariola L — Google review
Had a small issue with room availability that was resolved by the staff, thanks! Our group got Screeched In during a kitchen party in the lounge that was a memorable experience. Cleaning staff was very friendly and helpful! We left some items on departure, the staff tracked us down and made sure we got them back. Again, thanks.
Kendall H — Google review
Stayed here for 2 nights while on a tour and it was great. The room was spotless and very comfortable. Loved the balcony. Bathroom was spacious with great water pressure and tons of hot water. We ate in the pub and the food was excellent - I recommend the Lobster Roll! If you are able, make sure to catch the Anchors Away show, it was amazing.

(Just wanted to start off and say i am never usually the type of person to assume or complain about a business on reviews but would like to make people aware!) About 3 weeks ago we stayed at this hotel on our journey through the Northern peninsula. While packing up the next morning, I forgot my Dyson Air straightener ☹️👎, that afternoon we called the hotel to see if any had found it while cleaning the rooms and we were told that they would reach out to cleaning and call if anything had been found. No call and this is defiantly where the straightener was left, very disappointed! Expected a higher quality of service/decency to say the least!

This place is a money grabbing pit .We went there last night for dinner and drinks . Got our food at 8:24 pm and the kitchen party started at 8:30 which of course is an extra $20.00 per person if u would like to attend. Which we didn't want to attend . I ordered a half a liter of wine with dinner my friend had rum and coke . By 8:40 they was hounding us for this $20.00 each for the show we weren't even done eating. To all the people not from this province my advice to you is to look else where for food or accommodations it was an embarrassment knowing places here in this beautiful province could be so greedy.
Leah G — Google review
Comfortable room, we had the rear parking lot room, which was very quiet. Dining room has great views of water and sunsets. We saw the Anchors Aweigh show in their pub. It was very entertaining and fun. Close to other eating establishments, gifts shops, art gallery.
Maria — Google review
Nice views but you could be the nice view on the ground level. I’d have preferred the 2nd floor had I known. The big convenience is their pub is the only entertainment I’m aware of in Rocky Harbour. Otherwise, I preferred the Inn down the street. Their in house show at the pub, Anchors Aweigh is worth booking but you’d better book in advance!

The Deer Lake Motel is a straightforward and modern accommodation option that offers comfortable rooms with clean amenities. The motel provides a free breakfast and has a relaxed dining area with a casual bar. Guests can expect friendly staff who are accommodating, especially when it comes to special requests such as late-night laundry needs. The on-site restaurant is highly recommended for its cozy atmosphere and delicious, well-portioned meals at good prices.
Super friendly staff no matter what position or where I ran into them. So helpful too. Clean rooms, comfy beds, lots of pillows. Free breakfast and even an extra early Continental for those on the 5am flights. It is a few minutes drive from the airport which was perfect for my 1am arrival when I just wanted to get to a bed.
Kandice H — Google review
Our room was clean, great beds providing a restful sleep after a long drive. TV had lots of channels and remote worked. Our dinner was delicious, and desserts were huge. Good prices for a bottle of beer. Breakfast was buffet style...bacon, bologna, sausages, eggs, toutons, toast etc. too much to list. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Great hotel at great prices.
Maria — Google review
Friendly and helpful staff, clean, well stocked, modernized room, full buffet breakfast that was the best quality breakfast I've ever had at an accommodation. Hashbrowns, touton, eggs, cooked to perfection. Not soggy or burnt. Juice, fruits, yogurt all great quality. Location is excellent - right on the main highway. And a window that actually opens to let fresh air in! The kind of gem that makes you wish you could stay longer, just to experience this great experience (mostly the food) for a few more days! So glad we decided to stay in Deer Lake, and couldn't ask for a better place to have found! Stayed with 2 kids and they loved it as well!
Stephanie H — Google review
After getting off the red-eye flight at Deer Lake airport, this place is an absolute gem! The staff we met were just pure friendly and redefined helpful. Our room was spacious, super clean and very comfortable. We had an awesome time in the bar. The next morning, breakfast was amazing. Should my wife and I get back to Newfoundland, we're staying here!
Mike M — Google review
The deer lake motel restaurant was phenomenal! I am celiac and so must eat gluten free and they were so diligent in providing gluten free toast, with a separate fryer. Just kept going back three nights in a row, recommend to anyone, but especially if you’re gluten free!
David J — Google review
Rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable. With the inclusion of breakfast in the room rate, it made it quite reasonable. If I could make a suggestion, due to the late arrival of incoming flights, a late reasonable priced shuttle would be great!
Neil J — Google review
Highly recommend the Deer Lake Motel. The staff is helpful and friendly, it was quiet, room was clean, bed and sheets VERY comfortable, climate just right, towels super absorbent. The attached restaurant serves delicious meals.

Nestled in the picturesque Norris Point, Sugar Hill Inn & Chanterelles Restaurant offers a serene escape amidst the stunning landscapes of Gros Morne. With its spacious guest rooms adorned with warm colors and natural wood accents, guests can enjoy an inviting atmosphere filled with natural light. Many accommodations feature private decks that provide breathtaking views of Bonne Bay and the surrounding mountains. The inn is renowned for its exceptional dining experience, thanks to host Vince McCarthy's culinary expertise.
We had a fantastic meal here Friday night( duck, chicken, both beautifully prepared). We met Chef Dan, lovely guy. Just a great experience. So, we went back on Saturday and brought a friend. Another excellent meal( oysters, scallops, mussels to start then cod, lamb and salmon). Again, all was well prepared and beautifully presented. A real find!!
Blaine H — Google review
Had a wonderful 3 night stay!  Rooms are a little dated but very clean and quiet.  Staff were friendly and able to accommodate any request we had. The real gem is the restaurant - it is absolutely delicious.   We ate there all three nights and couldn't get enough. Our server Bonnie in the dining room was friendly,  efficient and knowledgeable -  we just loved everything about our dining experience.  We travelled with another family and all together we tried just about everything on the menu over 3 evenings and I do not have a single complaint. Highly recommend eating here!
Amy A — Google review
Good beds, everything decent. A bit outdated place in general. The rooms are also a bit noisy. The prices for staying at the Inn are a bit too high compared to what you get. I do understand some of the reviews I read re: tough communication with some of the personnel. We too experienced it as plain awkward at times. It might also be because we were in the area for Gros Morne hikes, not visiting as exclusive costumers (assumption): I can not really put my finger on it. The restaurant was absolutely awesome. We ate there all three nights that we were there! Good quality of food!
Maxime D — Google review
Food was far too expensive... 4 (!) scallops for 42 CAD... and the sides were tiny, only a few vegetables. A little extra bowl of sushi was 8 CAD. We visit these kind of restaurants often and are used to the higher prices, but that was over the top. Service was friendly, but we would not come back. The dining room is not very cozy as well.
Hyannis — Google review
Last time I visited this restaurant a few years back, this was easily my favourite meal during my Newfoundland vacation. I had this really amazing vegetarian meal that boasted all sorts of complex flavours. It was unlike anything I’ve ever eaten before. I still dream about that meal. This time around, while I wasn’t able to replicate the experience, it was still pretty high up there. Everything we ordered was really delicious, so this is a must visit for anyone visiting the Gros Morne area.
Alison — Google review
Sugar Hill Inn & Chanterelles Restaurant in Norris Point gave me one of those rare, unforgettable meals that lingers long after the last bite. Nestled above the town with sweeping views of Gros Morne’s rugged beauty, the setting alone is worth the visit—but it was the cod that truly stole the show. Perfectly seared, delicately seasoned, and served with a flourish of local vegetables and a silky cream sauce, it was hands-down the best I’ve ever had.
Sylvain P — Google review
We ate here while visiting from Toronto. As two foodies we were not expecting to be “wowed” by a small town restaurant but oh were we wrong!! This chef has a gift and we loved every bite! (Including the green salad, the duck and the halibut). Thank you!!!

Experience chic accommodations at a contemporary mountain resort in western Newfoundland, featuring a saltwater pool and upscale dining. The Marble Inn Resort is the premier 4.5-star property in the area, offering various activities such as skiing, fishing, and hiking while overlooking Marble Mountain. Take advantage of new luxury condos that offer comfort with indoor amenities like an indoor pool and sauna.
This was our second stay here and we love it so much. Friendly staff, clean rooms. The condo is lovely because you have your own balcony to relax on. Thank you again for great accomodations!
Lisa S — Google review
We used to be able to just drop-in at night, talk to a receptionist, pay $40 pax and enjoy the swimming pool and the sauna. Well, we popped-in tonight. It was dark everywhere and apparently, you can just "facetime" a personnel on a tablet fixed on the reception desk to "chat." We were asked to book a session online to use the sauna. Nothing was mentioned about the self-thermal session. Yet, this session is described on their website and it's exactly what we wanted to do. Hospitality at its finest to say the least.
Edie C — Google review
Nice view and location you can walk to Marble. There is a Continental breakfast but they did not have much (3 cereals, 1 crossaint and 1 danish). They do have a paid option. Pool was nice but having to book it is a added hassle. No housekeeping services, we got some mud on the floor and had no way to clean it. Staff told me to walk it in. Then gave me a broom to sweep it up when I pushed about it.
Phil H — Google review
Lovely spot, salt water pool, very small gym with limited weights. Only up to 25lbs, connected to the pool area so quite humid as well - no AC and there's only a small window to let air flow. Rooms are spacious, beds a bit hard. Heat pumps in units. Lovely balcony. Access to the river where you can rent kayaks or paddleboards. Curry was tasty from the to go restaurant. There is one washer and dryer available. There's a rooster hanging around and saw 2 cute bunnies as well.
Melanie R — Google review
Wonderful ladies on the front desk. Horrible owner/ Manager. Makes guests wash their own towels?! Have never before encountered this. If you don't have time or loads of coins to use their washing machine to wash their hotel towels they charge guests and additional $25 dollars + a day for basic towel service (2 bath towels, 2 hand towels) that every other resort in the world offers free of charge.
Ava M — Google review
A very warm and inviting resort. The facilities and grounds injected the calm connected feeling with nature we needed. We will consider staying here again next time we're in the area. However, the saltwater pool could stand to be several degrees warmer and sleeping on beach rocks would be more comfortable than the fold out sofa bed — both of which displeased our child. The room we stayed in was very large, maybe the largest room we've ever seen with just single queen bed in it. The staff for the most part seemed friendly and willing to accommodate where possible. We stayed in the summer, when there is no skiiing, but in the winter this is an amazing place for cross country or downhill. Access to the river is unparalleled and worth the price alone if you're into any of the activities available (kayaking, etc).
Colin P — Google review
Very curious how they got a 4.5 star rating... I booked it site unseen and we were in for a bit of surprise... I should have paid better attention to the other reviews.. Outdated, unpleasant smell in the room.

The Glynmill Inn, located in Corner Brook, offers modest accommodations with some rooms featuring whirlpool tubs. The hotel's Tudor-style architecture adds to its charm and it is known for its two restaurants and a pub. The Carriage Room provides an upscale dining experience with classic English decor and picturesque views of the property. While the hotel has historic appeal, some areas may require maintenance.
101 years old! This hotel is a classic. The architecture is beautiful. The rooms are spacious. The dining rooms use white table cloths even for breakfast. The Glynmill Inn is on a beautiful walking trail network that can be used to navigate oneself throughout downtown Corner Brook. That feature alone makes this Inn ideal. The setting is park-like yet very central to great restaurants. And I mean less than a five minute walk. This historic property is full of interior wooden features and large windows (which open). Reservations are easy using online portal or calling the front desk, which I did. The rates are very competitive given the room choices and option for breakfast. I am delighted with my stay.
Michael H — Google review
Spent two nights here as part of a tour. The Inn is 100 years old and really charming in a lovely setting. We really liked walking around the pond, it was beautiful. Both our breakfasts were very good. Areas of the Inn definitely need refreshing but everything was clean. Our bed was quite comfortable and the windows opened which was great for getting some fresh cool air. My only complaint was the state of the shower in room 126. There was great water pressure and tons of hot water but it was tricky to adjust the temperature and the fixed shower head did not work so a hand held was attached. It hung at a strange angle and was hard to adjust. Washing my hair was not fun. The toiletries are not great, no body-wash, just bar soap and I had to ask for conditioner ( the room attendant was great). If they updated the bathroom it would really make for a better experience.
Ann G — Google review
Old world charm in decently appointed rooms. The grounds are amazing in season. The restaurant has the vibe of an English team room, where the food is good, but food service operates at a snails pace. We'll, lets be honest, the food service would make a snails pace look blisteringly fast. But the food is good so if you have the time and a novel to read, by all means try that too.
Steve F — Google review
Had a great stay! The front desk staff were very welcoming, the room was spacious, and the location was beautiful. The thoughtful toiletries were a nice touch. The weather was great during our stay so it was nice that the windows in the rooms opened for fresh air. Would definitely come back!

I Had a lovely stay at the Glynmill Inn. Such a cozy and charming spot. The Carriage Room was great, and Jade, my waitress, was honestly the sweetest! She made the whole experience even better. Giving it a solid 4/5. would definitely come back.

Very nice hotel with a very convenient location. The decor is a little dated, best described as "80's classy", it would do well with a more elegant upgrade. The room was clean and bright. Very pleasant experience, except for one experience that would have been completely avoidable. My husband and I traveled to CornerBrook, on a business/pleasure trip. After a long day of driving, taking care of some professional commitments and attending a social event, we decided to stop at the lounge for a cocktail before bed. The lounge was very nice, with some live music being played at a very comfortable volume for conversation. My husband ordered an espresso martini, while I ordered an old fashioned. The server barked at me that "we don't have any bourbon". When I suggested another type of whiskey (which would have been my preferenceanyway), I was told "we don't do that". I ordered another choice, we finished our drinks and left for the evening. The next evening, we chose to go to another higher-end hotel close by, for our cocktails before bed.

Lovely 100 year- old hotel. Furnishings and carpets show somed wear. Rooms are spacious. The bed was wonderfully comfortable. The trails around Glynmill Pond and town are excellent.

Nestled conveniently near the Nova Scotia ferry, St. Christopher's Hotel is a charming two-story establishment that caters primarily to travelers embarking on their maritime adventures. With its classic rooms and suites boasting stunning harbor views, guests can enjoy a comfortable stay enhanced by modern amenities like a fitness room and laundry facilities. The hotel features bright, well-maintained accommodations designed for relaxation, complete with heavy curtains for those who prefer to block out the morning light.
After being stranded by Air Canada and having to drive 10 hours to catch the ferry to the mainland. This hotel was a great stop, from the front staff checking in so polite and kind. Great night sleep, quiet big clean rooms, lots of towels. Breakfast was probably one of the best we had in decades. Go for the St Christopher special huge amount of food. Our compliments to the cook and dining room staff. We may have been delayed by Air Canada but we seen some stunning views and our travel agent found us a great hotel. Would give 10 stars is possible.

The location was perfect for the ferry. It is a very clean, friendly hotel. However, sadly the restaurant has a lot of issues like the lack of friendliness and staff. We sat 20 min. before we were seen too. Server not very friendly and when I complained about my food she got quite rude. The hotel stopped serving breakfast due to not enough staff. There is a Tim Hortons down the road if there is food left by the time you get there due to the extremely long line up's every day. I really believe that these issues if improved could this this hotel an easy 4 star!

This was the second time we stayed here and I have to say that we were 100% impressed and satisfied with the service from the front desk, kitchen staff, the cleaner and the room itself. Everyone worked together to make our stay the most enjoyable ever. We’ve stayed in many hotels but this one is the best. Keep up the great work everyone you totally deserve 5 star rating

Rooms were basic but it’s a flop for getting on and off ferry. This place has the advantage of captive Marine Atlantic travellers. The ferry schedule is predictable but on two evenings the dining room was busy and they were understaffed. No air conditioning in the dining room. Wait staff were not that attentive. Seemed harried and impatient. Owners should invest in some staffing, hotel upgrades and training in hospitality.

Fantastic front desk, super clean with comfortable beds, food pretty good, service staff in restaurant need to check the negativity at the door. Both times we went to the restaurant the staff were quick to say we would have at least an hour wait for food as the kitchen was backed up, sighed, and sauntered us to a table. Then we waited at least 5 minutes for water, 5 minutes for a drink order, but by the time we were done our drink our food was ready. Stop blaming the kitchen, take advantage of patrons ready to have a couple of drinks with happy smiling staff.

Chose to stay here as it was 5 minutes away from the ferry terminal. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Rooms were nice and beds very comfortable. Great value.

The rooms are basic but clean. With loud a/c. Service in the hotel itself was good. The restaurant is significantly below expectations. Hostile even and our waitress forgot a portion of our meal despite remembering every time she walked by. We never got it. Pradeep in the bar is a superstar though. Very nice guy. Friendly. Hard worker.

August 24-28. The hotel was lovely, stayed in a room with a kitchen and another room with two queen beds. Great for our family. The first negative was at the restaurant. The waitress was a bit snippy. She was not overly happy and a lot to be desired. She seemed overwhelmed by not even half a filled restaurant and the other male waiter helped her with some tables. Even getting cutlery was stressing her out. The second negative was the lack of wifi. We all had to use our data which sucked. The front desk stated wifi was bad but didnt realize it was mostly non-existent Otherwise, the stay was good, being close by to the music and to the ferry.

The Hew & Draw Hotel in Corner Brook is a chic and family-owned hotel that offers unique suites paying homage to the region. The hotel features a restaurant, brewery, fitness room, and a seasonal rooftop terrace with hot tubs available on a first-come-first-serve basis. The Best Coast Restaurant at the hotel offers delicious menu selections for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Guests can enjoy beautiful finishes in the rooms with custom-printed wallpaper of the Newfoundland marten.
A beautiful, modern hotel in a perfect downtown location. It's our go-to in Corner Brook because it's pet-friendly. The walking trail right behind the hotel is a huge plus. The food quality has been a weak point for me on past visits, but I was very pleased to see a significant improvement in the breakfast on my last stay. It’s great to see them making positive changes. This is the best place to stay in the city.

This is a wonderful place to stay. It’s clean, friendly and centrally located. There is lots of movement without excessive noise. At $270 per night including taxes it might not suite a lot of budgets however the complementary breakfast is the full meal deal and served in the upbeat Boomstick restaurant by hardworking staff. The rooms could use additional comfortable seating and the scented bathroom products would be much more appreciated on my end if they were unscented. Congratulations to the owners, management and staff of the Hew and Draw, you make Corner Brook shine

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. It is such a gem in Cornerbrook! Situated downtown, and also close to the National Park and all other surrounding natural beauties. The rooms are spacious and clean. There is a fitness centre, hot tubs and sauna to use. A brewery is on site! Breakfast was a delight every morning with our lovely server, Gloria! Your cheerful demeanor and helpful advice was very much appreciated! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Keep up the good work!

We loved this place so much! Everything from the wonderful food and complimentary breakfast, to the beautiful bath robes and locally-sourced French press coffee in the rooms. They even offer free access to washing machines and dryers so we didn't have to drag our items to a laundromat. It's obvious so much thought, detail and care go into every aspect of what happens here. Staying halfway through our trip to NS and Nfld was one of the highlights for sure. We're so grateful.

The room, 301, was fantastic. Comfy and roomy. The service in the outside patio was terrific. The breakfast experience was not as good. It was not busy but we had to wave to get a server's attention. Nobody asked if there was anything else we would like. They need to be trained better. The dining room was freezing cold and the music much too loud. Food was excellent. All in all two thumbs up.

Hotel is very clean, beds very comfortable and bathroom was spa like. The attached brewery served an excellent breakfast in the morning full of options included in the stay. Hottubs on roof also in excellent shape. Overall couldn't have asked for more.

This is definately one of the higher end options in corner Brook, and I have stayed here many times over the past 3-4 years, overall, the experiences have been quite positive. This past month we stayed here for 5 nights in total while on the west coast The free breakfast was delicious, with complimentary room service available, which we used one morning we were in a rush. Rooms are pretty nice, modern with amazing blackout blinds and comfy beds. I love their showers and east coast glow bath products. (If I had one critique, I'd be looking for extra shower heads in some of the larger suite showers, but honestly that's just being nitpicky) Service was good, we did have a minor issue that was corrected promptly and without fuss. Daily they do offer a small tray of treats and coffee in the lobby, and do have friendly staff. So honestly from my experience it's they've been great. Will continue to return here.

Inn
Fogo Island Inn is a one-of-a-kind oceanfront hotel located on Fogo Island, just an hour's ferry ride from Newfoundland. The inn stands out for its unique community-focused approach, with all profits benefiting the local people. Every aspect of the inn reflects a commitment to ethical and sustainable practices, from locally designed wallpapers to handmade quilts by the island's craft guild. Guests can enjoy personalized island tours with community hosts and savor local music in the bar at night.
Fogo Island Inn is the kind of place that redefines what luxury can mean—remote, raw, and deeply rooted in community and craft. Perched on the edge of the North Atlantic in Joe Batt’s Arm, it feels like the end of the earth in the most magical way. Every detail, from the hand-built furniture to the floor-to-ceiling ocean views, speaks to a reverence for place and people. The service is warm and deeply personal, the food is a celebration of local flavors, and the silence—punctuated only by wind and waves—is soul-stirring.

This hotel looks lovely. It is indeed a wonderful endeavor to revitalize these remarkable islands. The owner is a wonderful person. It is, however, extremely odd, and disappointing, that islands of hard working average people can only cater to the epically wealthy at $1,500.00 a night! It is like an anthropological and geographical paradise, unattainable for someone like myself, the average person. Sad.

We came here to visit the restaurant, which boasts a $250/person fixed menu and requires booking a few weeks out. Not wanting to post an overly long review, let me just say overall this was a truly excellent dining experience. The food was thoughtfully creative and very delicious. Service was very attentive and the ambiance comfortable. The restaurant overlooks the ocean, so I bet sometimes lucky diners have the opportunity to see whales. (We weren’t that lucky.) Just a few quibbles that prevented this from being a perfect experience: 1. The restaurant prints out customized menus for guests not also staying at the inn. The drinks menu only includes pricing for alcoholic beverage with no prices listed for the zero proof mixed drinks. This led me to believe that these would be included in the overall fee. Unfortunately, I found out later that only inn guests have these beverages included. At the time I let it go, but for the future I would recommend including all prices on the menus printed for external guests so there is no confusion. If I were someone who had to really save for this experience, the additional fees would have come as a surprise that could colour the whole evening. 2. That night there was a lamb entree on offer. To my surprise our whole table found the meat to be extremely chewy and difficult to eat. I’m unsure if this was due to a poorer cut of meat being served or an issue in how it was prepared. But, I didn’t expect to encounter this at restaurant like this. All that aside, it really was a great experience. I hope one day I’ll have the opportunity to stay at the inn, as all of the included activities sound like they’d be a lot of fun to experience.

So, I finally made it to Fogo Island Inn after dreaming about it for years, and wow—this place lives up to the hype. It's hard to describe it without sounding dramatic, but honestly, it’s one of the most memorable places I’ve ever stayed. First off, the setting is unreal. You're basically at the edge of the world—massive waves, rugged rocks, and just this wide-open feeling that you don’t get anywhere else. The building itself looks like it landed from the future, but somehow it totally fits in. You’re out in nature, but also wrapped in luxury. Not in a flashy way—more like thoughtful, quiet luxury. The rooms? Every single one has huge windows facing the ocean, so you can literally watch the waves crash while lying in bed. Mine had a wood-burning stove, and I’m not kidding when I say I could’ve sat there all day just staring out at the sea. There’s also no TV, which I actually loved—it made everything feel slower and more intentional. Food was incredible. Local, seasonal, super creative without being pretentious. I had fish caught that morning, foraged berries, and homemade everything. They change the menu all the time depending on what’s available, and you can really taste the difference. But what really makes it special is the people. Every staff member is from the island, and they’re not just polite—they’re genuinely warm. I ended up chatting with one of the community hosts who took me on a little tour of the area and shared stories about growing up there. It’s that kind of place—you feel like a guest, not just a customer. It’s not cheap, obviously, but it’s more than just a hotel stay. It feels like an experience you’ll still be thinking about months (or years) later. If you’re looking to totally unplug, get inspired, and see a part of the world that still feels untouched, I can’t recommend it enough.

It was supposed to be one of those trips of a lifetime. People are okay, rooms okay for the price, but the service was atrocious. Only okay for celebrities or the ultra wealthy. Otherwise you'll get treated like an imposition. Two people were incredibly rude. For an inn that boasts about their hospitality, it completely missed the mark. About a month or so after our stay I wrote an email thanking the inn for their hospitality and included in detail the negative interactions. In return, I received a coupon for my next stay. So rude! Rather than an apology, I got an acknowledgment that the employee was known to be rude. I wouldn't go again if they paid me. Our stay was disappointing, a waste of money. Geographically, the location is uniquely beautiful, but surely you can stay in another inn or hotel. It's a thumbs way down.
Carm J — Google review
Overpretentious and rude staff. After a man told me there was a spot available on today's FREE tour at 2:30pm and literally shuttled me over, the Australian lady with the brown hair tied back in a bun named Mikayla comes up to me and tells me it's "full". I explained that the gentleman literally JUST said I can join as he said there was space. I continue to hear her gossiping about me after I walked off into another room, and a few of them huddle near the desk gossiping. They limit the number of people on the tour to 8. They told me and another two people there was space. If they made a mistake and admitted one or two more, they shouldn't turn them back after the travelers made the effort to come all this way. This is really unprofessional and a form of exclusion I don't tolerate. What's one or two more people? Is there a reason the tour guide can't handle one extra person? Are we all sharing the same oxygen? Why is the limit 8 and why is there no effort to make an accommodation when they make a mistake and book extra people? Weird and pretentious vibes. Nothing like an expensive overpriced hotel to make people feel excluded, when the booking was THEIR MISTAKE. Based on the catty and immature reaction I would never recommend this $1500/night hotel. They kicked out a group of 4 people. The staff have bad planning and make it seem like it's some exclusive event. It's just a free tour. You'll see a piano upstairs and some cushions/sitting area, some GMO apples in a bowl... not really worth driving for or waiting around for. I was the first person here at 2:10pm. Tour that was supposed to start at 2:30pm didn't start until 2:45pm. They aren't as strict on their timing and punctuality as they are on the number of 8. At 2:45 they told me to leave because they were "full". Probably better to spend your time exploring the hikes nearby and the museums. At least you won't get kicked off the trails. Better yet, skip Fogo island completely and head to Bonavista, Terra Nova, Twilingate and Gros Morne National Park. This place hasn't been worth the $25 it cost me to get across the ferry and I won't be back.

The Fogo island Inn is as advertised, wonderful, enchanting. But it's the cultural experience that overwhelms in ways that are almost unimaginable. The level of hospitality may be unequaled..anywhere. Friendliness and genuine care radiates from staff, the community, from everywhere. One leaves the Inn and island overfed, nourished, and reminded of how important kindness and thoughtfulness are to our collective wellbeing. Yes, the experience is inspiring, and we are very grateful to everyone who contributed to our amazing stay!

My husband and I recently returned from a four night stay at Fogo Island Inn and we both cannot stop thinking about our time spent. We travel a lot and have been lucky to stay in some incredible hotels, but Fogo will be remembered as a favorite. This inn is so much more than a beautiful hotel, but is an example of how community can come together for social and economic benefit. The inn is breathtaking, sitting on what feels like the end of the earth. The small details of design come together to create such a warm and inviting space. All the staff were just incredible...friendly and helpful, laidback and welcoming. We had our own car and used that to explore the island ourselves. But they offer twice daily guided activities, like hiking, with experienced guides. They also have a fleet of various bikes that we also used to explore the island. These were well maintained and ready to go anytime we wanted. The hot tub and sauna area were amazing to relax in after a long day of hiking and exploring. Some of the highlights include: -island tour with a local (recommend doing this your first morning to learn about the history of the island and get a lay of the land). Thank you Gerard for an amazing island tour! -longtable crab dinner in the shed -hiking the Lions Den and Fogo Head -riding the e bikes around the island to visit the smaller fishing communities. -lunch at The Storehouse (you can eat here for lunch or dinner and its included in your stay). -follow lunch with ice cream at Growlers! -car delivery service at the end of your stay. The inn will drive your car the night before to the ferry to get it in line, then they will deliver you to your car the morning you leave. We ate almost all of our meals at the inn. The food and service were beautiful. Like dining in a fine dining restaurant for every meal. Yes, the menu is limited, but they strive to serve 80% of the food sourced from Fogo. To me, that is really impressive and we appreciated the efforts and inventiveness of the dishes. There was always a land, sea and vegetarian option for each multicourse lunch and dinner. But we also enjoyed a more casual lunch outside the inn and would highly recommend stopping at the Storehouse for a meal. We spent four nights and were so happy we did. We opted for the lowest category of room and to stay four nights, rather than three. I would highly recommend this as there is so much to do, but then you also want time to just enjoy the inn and its surroundings. Our beautiful room was on the second floor and had incredible sea views, as do all the rooms at the inn. There are only 29 rooms and they are all ocean front. Lastly, we were lucky enough to visit when the founder of the inn, Zita Cobb, was visiting. We attended an hour long presentation by Zita in the inn's theatre about the history of the inn. Hearing Zita speak about this project and the impact its had on the island was really inspiring and a highlight of our time spent. The island and inn take some effort to get to, but that is the beauty of it all. It's a rugged and beautiful place and we would love to return one. Thank you for such an incredible and memorable stay!

We stayed here recently as part of an ortho blitz week. The location, so close to the hospital was excellent. Our room, on the first floor, was spacious and easy to navigate by walker. The staff were so warm and welcoming, so helpful and kind-that they were a highlight! We brought our raised toilet seat that attached to the elongated toilet very well. They also have an accessible room that would be excellent for an ortho blitz room. I can’t wait to come back as a tourist and enjoy St. Anthony along with its many hiking trails next summer. Ps. The continental breakfast is great.

Stayed here 3 nights. Clean, bright, quiet and reasonably priced hotel. Website pictures are true to reality. Nice local arts deco including polar bear hide. Staff was very helpful and friendly. My room was clean and neat, no musky or smoke odor. Everything was in working order - coffee maker, good WiFi airconditioning, fridge, hot water, hair dryer and comfy bed. Microwave was shared downstairs. Walls are thin, I could hear my neighbours talking quietly one night, no big deal. Walking distance to restaurant, bar, Tims, gas station, etc. I would stay again.

Super friendly staff. The check-in was quick. Rooms are about what you'd expect for a small town. Nothing spectacular, but they were extremely clean...the bedding smelled fresh. Television worked. Note - the bottle water in the fridge is NOT complimentary. They charge $2.50/bottle. The location is excellent. It is located just on the outskirts of the military base, which means the hotel is only a 4 minute drive. Tim Hortons and the gas station is 2 minutes away. A&W is 1 minute. I'm not sure if other hotel options exist in the area but regardless I'd stay here again.

Russelltown Inn offers a variety of accommodations in a beautiful town filled with artists and unique products. The main inn features clean and attractive rooms, while several guest cottages provide cozy stays for a minimum of two nights. For those seeking an eco-friendly experience, the inn also offers 'glamping' in nicely renovated studio shacks with solar lighting.
We stayed for 3 days in the Alexander Room. The experience was delightful from beginning to end. Russeltown Inn is the perfect B & B, nestled in a perfect little spot of Newfoundland. The service was amazing, the continental breakfasts were fresh, plentiful and varied each day. The room was clean, tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. The inn is perfectly situated just a short walk to downtown and the harbour. We loved our stay and look forward to returning soon.

I am enjoying my second day out of a three night stay in the Lawrence Suite at this lovely Inn. My room is huge, well appointed, clean, and is comfortable. I have been touring Newfoundland for the past two weeks, and this is definitely the most modern room I have occupied so far. I am a seasoned traveller with discerning taste. The continental breakfast which is delivered to the door is adequate to get the day started. Restaurants, and other facilities are located within walking distance, or a short drive from the Inn. I am a solo, senior traveller, and the Lawrence suite suits me well as it is on the ground floor.

The Russelltown Inn consists of lovely fully restored cottages in Bonovista, Newfoundland. The cottage we stayed in was divided into 4 beautiful suites, two upstairs and two downstairs, we stayed one night in the Alexander suite (ground floor). Really charming and cozy, clean and beautiful decoration. Breakfast is brought to your suite in the morning in a wood crate , so lovely. The cottage is located perfectly so you can walk into town and sample the delights of Bonavista. The staff were super friendly and helpful with arrangements and suggestions. I wanted to post two reviews but that seems not possible as we stayed in another suite for an additional night. We stayed in the loft which is all of the above but more spacious. We tried to stay an additional night here but it was all booked up .... I guess because its so lovely !!!

We had a wonderful experience at the Russelltown Inn! (We stayed in the Magistrate Room). This quaint and cozy bed and breakfast is the perfect place to relax while still being close to everything in town. The inn was spotlessly clean and thoughtfully maintained, which made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. One of the highlights was the delicious continental breakfast delivered right to our door each morning — such a lovely touch! Fresh, tasty, and convenient, it really made our mornings extra special. If you're looking for a peaceful, charming place to stay with a personal touch and great location, we highly recommend the Russelltown Inn. We'd absolutely stay here again!

Beautiful, clean, modern and stylish place. Fluffy white duvet, French Press and kettle in each room, with coffee from Bonavista. Locally made soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion - very luxurious! We had breakfast delivered to our rooms (warm croissant & boiled egg and yogurt) with a carafe of coffee. bonus - 2 luggage racks in all the rooms! We checked out the lighthouse & puffin viewing site — both incredible, and within 15 mins driving of the Inn.

The host communicated well, was friendly and provided a lot of great recommendations. Check in was super easy and the room that we stayed in (Lawrence) was beautiful! The only drawback was that you could very much hear those in the suite above us. Overall, lovely spot!

This place was perfect for what we needed. I just wish we could have stayed longer. Our room was in the cottage across the road from the main cottage. Nicely decorated, and clean, the bed was super comfy. I saw some complaints about the breakfast thats provided but we had no issue. Boiled eggs, almond croissants (which were so tasty), yogurts, apples, coffee and tea. The cottage is also just a short walk from the waterfront, and other shops and restaurants. We hope to be back one day. - Our only issue was the guests staying above us, I'm not sure if they knew people were below (or maybe didn't care), but they were up early, stomping and speaking very loudly, I had to go out and tell them to keep it down.
Danielle T — Google review
They have clearly spent some money making the rooms look nice. However, our room was so badly sound insulated that we could hear all the conversations from the people staying above us AND every footstep. I would not recommend staying here. I understand that heritage buildings will have worse sound proofing than modern buildings but the room we were given really wasn’t suitable for anyone to sleep in. The management also still have not bothered responding to our complaint - very rude. We ended up having to move hotels. The photos look nice, but I would avoid this place.

The Artisan Inn & Vacation Homes in Trinity, located on the Bonavista Peninsula, offers a unique experience that combines the hospitality of an inn with the privacy and independence of a vacation home. With 7 distinct 4 and 4.5 star vacation homes to choose from, guests can enjoy a variety of accommodations. The Campbell House, a beautifully restored 1840s home, provides charming and comfortable lodgings with well-appointed amenities.
The Artisan Inn was one my most favourite places I’ve ever stayed. Our family of four stayed in the Lighthouse View home and it was AMAZING. It’s a beautiful house with so much character and a gorgeous view. It was so quiet and tranquil to sit and enjoy the view in the morning or listen to the water through open windows at night. The home itself has everything you need. We enjoyed meals both out and at home. Trinity is a gem of a town. We loved the Gun Hill trail, especially for an evening walk. The entire experience was idyllic. It was very hard to leave.

We absolutely fell in love with Trinity and the Artisan Inn. We stayed in the Studio King Suite and it was perfect. The accommodation had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay. The space was spotlessly clean and so cozy and welcoming. We enjoyed a sunny afternoon on our own deck, looking over the Twine Loft and water. The amazing staff were helpful, accommodating and so friendly. Our breakfast was delicious each morning at the quaint Twine Loft! We will be back and highly recommend the Artisan Inn and Trinity to all of our friends!

We stayed at the Harbour House and it was so amazing and way beyond our expectations. The house was so clean and had so many amenities. The view from the deck was spectacular and the service was quick. They really ensured that our stay was comfortable and that we had everything we needed and more. I really recommend the Artisan Inn.

We stayed in the studio king suite. Very nice unit, spacious and clean with everything you need. We really enjoyed walking around in Trinity, it's a beautiful little community with great views. Highly recommend staying there.
Bernard P — Google review
The name of the house we stayed at was called Lighthouse view but the lighthouse was very small and also far away. A little misleading in the name. We showed up late in the day without calling in advance so the room likely wouldn’t have had a guest anyways if we weren’t there that night. For one night we were charged a $50 cleaning fee and our total was $477.00 CAD. The house didn’t have any air conditioning whereas most of the other houses in the area had been updated with at least an air conditioner/mini-split. We couldn’t sleep all night due to the heat. This was also in the fall of the year, so not a hot summer night. The water is a tinge yellow. They say it is safe to drink. It’s probably artisan well water high in iron. When I checked out the owner asked me how I found my stay, I let her know these things and that the $50 cleaning fee was a bit excessive. She told me “You didn’t have to stay HERE, you could have stayed somewhere CHEAPER” which was a condescending remark and showed that she could not take constructive criticism/Honest feedback. I believe that she was right though, we could have stayed somewhere cheaper and had a better time and been more comfortable. They were also supposed to change the door lock automatically to update with the last 4 digits of my phone number but it didn’t ever update so we couldn’t lock our belongings in safety while we viewed the community. We are Newfoundlanders who moved away but this might be important for people with passports and jewelry etc.. All in all, the value of this is not great. I feel like they charge these prices for people out of province, I noticed some New York license plates around the community so maybe it as chump change for those types of people so if your a local tourist or a Canadian who has a working class wage, I would stay in a cheaper place in Trinity or visit a place like Greenspond instead.

Trinity is a beautiful historic town and staying in an original saltbox home at the Artisan Inn made the experience perfect. The room was well appointed with lots of coffee and the staff was very friendly
Eveline G — Google review
Avoid this place if you value fair treatment. I booked after a recommendation, but the experience was awful. I was told over the phone I had a week to cancel without fees. Within that time, I sent my medical note for my emotional support dog. The owner immediately refused and then repeatedly emailed me, pressuring me to cancel right away. I felt horribly pressured (while trying to find a solution) , and they even made a point of writing that I had “agreed in writing,” adding to their already petty and unprofessional attitude. This was entirely their decision, yet they still charged me a $25 cancellation fee despite promising no fees. Unprofessional, petty, and deeply disappointing.

The restaurant and accommodations are top notch and service goes above and beyond. I would highly recommend the Artisan Inn as your place to stay and eat whenever you visit the most beautiful town in Newfoundland - Trinity!

Nestled just a kilometer from the breathtaking Burnt Cape Park Reserve and a short drive to Pistolet Bay Provincial Park, Burnt Cape Cabins offers an idyllic retreat for nature lovers. Guests have enjoyed their stay in the charming three-bedroom cabins, which are known for their cleanliness and stunning views. While some visitors found the on-site café's limited hours disappointing, they appreciated the fully equipped kitchens and BBQ facilities available in each cabin.
Had a great time staying at burnt cape cabins. Cabin was clean with fully equipped kitchen and BBQ. Would have liked to stay for longer . Lovely view and even had a little area to sit around a firepit with wood provided. Little store across the road had a few things if you need something in a pinch but grocery stores 20 minutes away in st. Anthony. Highly recommended if you enjoy tidy cabins on the waterfront. Lady at the store where you check in was very friendly and helpful but it's a small town so store closes for an hour at suppertime. This was the favorite stop of our trip across Newfoundland. If you are ever near Raleigh definitely won't be disappointed.

The cabin was cozy, but advertised internet. Ours wasn't working. Couldn't reach anyone. But, in their defense, they had just opened for the season, we were last minute, and not being able to watch the NHL playoffs will not kill me lol. The view was stunning.

Very nice cabin, right on the cove. Full kitchen. I liked it so much I ended up extending my stay! Once there it's hard to leave
Sarahndipity — Google review
Caution about staying in cabin 2, laundry on one side and neighbour's you can hear on the other. Least comfortable couch and very firm mattress. Limited food options at the shoulder seasons. Nice and clean and right by the water though.
Kevin I — Google review
The cabin is clean and we weren't hurting for anything. The mattress feels like it's time for replacement, but that's about it. The location is very convenient for visiting L'Anse Aux Meadows, and St. Anthony isn't too far away as well. We had one question for the owner, who answered immediately - no problems there at all. Overall, a good experience.
Reese S — Google review
I think this location would be OK if you didn’t have any issues. However, after a 5 Hour drive from our previous location, we found out that the community had been in a water boil order for over a month. We booked this location 22 days after the water boil order was put into effect. The owner was the rudest accommodation owner that I have ever spoken with in all of my travels having travelled all over the world. Having to boil your water for anything to do with cooking and cleaning and the risk of getting water in your mouth while taking a shower and getting a bacteria infection should not be something called silly as the owner called it, he was dismissive of our concerns and lied about other communities that also had water boil orders in place at the time. I would not suggest anyone book with this owner as he appears to be dishonest and not transparent about existing situations that may affect the health and safety of their guests. The only compensation that the owner offered was if we left the premises immediately he would give us half of our money back leaving us with no accommodations. We had to drive an additional 45 minutes to find other accommodations and had to cut our stay short by a day.

We really enjoyed our 2nd time at Burnt Cape Cabins. We rented the house and were very pleased with it. It was absolutely spotless and it had everything we needed. We felt right at home. It has a great view of the Bay. We like the location because it is between L'Anse aux Meadows and St. Anthony. It is a great home base for exploring the area. Sadly, the restaurant was closed because they were without a cook (we had really enjoyed the food there on our last visit), but we just cooked at home and took the opportunity to try other places to eat in the area. When we return to the area we will definitely stay here again.
Cher W — Google review
We booked the 3 bedroom vacation home, which was very clean (and I am very picky), was very charming and had a great view. We were a little disappointed in the cafe (open for only a few hours per day). The cafe website said they were open until 9 and when our two teens went over at 8:31pm to order a piece of cheesecake to take back to our cabin, the waitress abruptly stated they were closed. The next evening we went over to dine in, and our waitress was miserable with us the whole time we were there. Sadly, we will remember how we were treated at the cafe, not that the food was actually delicious.

The Marble Villa at Marble Mountain Resort offers a serene escape, perfect for both winter sports enthusiasts and summer travelers seeking tranquility. These immaculate condo-style accommodations range from cozy studios with kitchenettes to spacious two-bedroom suites featuring full kitchens and fireplaces. Nestled amidst lush green slopes during the warmer months, it serves as an ideal base for exploring nearby attractions like the Bay of Islands and Gros Morne National Park. Guests have praised the beautiful, roomy interiors that provide a comfortable retreat after a day of adventure.
I was here during the summer, not for the mountain but because I was working nearby. The rooms are beautiful and spacious. Very cozy and with a great view. Garbages were emptied daily and everything was spotless when I arrived. There is no front desk but you can call if you need anything. Codes for main door and each room. Very quiet, never heard a sound from my "neighbors". Great location and has a small shop and gas station near by. Lots of places around to explore. Would definitely recommend.

Nice area, easy to find, plenty of parking, beautiful view, room very clean and quiet, very easy to check in/out, our trip was during ski off-season so there was less people around, will be back again for sure, had a great stay. Was short 15 min drive to CB and 25 mins to Deer Lake.

Was given a regular room and as it was later in evening checking in, could not call anyone to change it. Tried calling next morning with no answer. It was clean and neat but not staying there anymore unless no where else to stay, i had the option of staying deer lake and getting what i require

Recently spent 3 nights in Villa. The booking part was so easy and friendly thanks to manager Lianne. We also met her as we arrived ( in parking lot) and she greeted us and shared some local info. While the rooms were a little dated. The whole villa was immaculately clean and well kept. It is truly a Ski to the door place from the hill. We would most certainly stay there again. Thanks again Liane for your wonderful service.

You can't beat the location and the view of the mountain and nearby Humber River. The Villa room that I had was clean and tidy and had all the amenities one would need for an extended stay, it if needed. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There's lots to do in the area as well. The only issue is that the building itself definitely needs an update. Well worth a visit.

Enjoyed my stay, rooms are clean and comfortable. Nicely set up with a fridge, microwave, hotplate and dishes for those who like to do a little of their own cooking. The only thing I didn't like was a light outside my window, and though the blinds did a pretty good job blocking most of it, there was still a little too much light coming through around the edges. I like it pitch black when sleeping, some wouldn't be bothered. would recommend staying here and will most definitely stay again.

This place is a must on places to visit. The rooms are well appointed, very comfortable beds and tasteful decor. Then there is the food...excellent choices, the seafood is amazing and the beef is fantastic. FYI BYOB for dinner, which no issue with Pike's just down the road. The service is a 5/5, everyone so welcoming and making sure everything was perfect. Second stay this summer and we will definitely be back.

We spent four days at the Gros Morne Inn last week, using it as a base for local hiking. We loved everything about it. Our room was spacious and had a million dollar view off a private deck. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The restaurant was superb for breakfast and dinner, with an emphasis on local ingredients, particularly delicious seafood, and some serious technique in the kitchen. We highly recommend it.

The wonderful host and hostess, Ian and Rebecca Stone, made our stay unforgettable. GMI tucked away into the National Park, is leading the way for eco-friendly hospitality. There is so much warmth, they even gift you a pair of hand-knitted slippers upon your arrival. Delicious homemade meals made from scratch using locally sourced ingredients. One of my favourites was the Snow Crab Toastie and for dessert Partridgeberry Crème Brûlée. This visit was a magical blend of natural beauty, incredible food, and heartfelt hospitality. If you’re looking for a breathtaking escape that combines adventure, relaxation and sustainability, I highly recommend Gross Morne Inn. Thank you Ian and Rebecca for making this an experience I will never forget.

The inn's convenient location allows for easy access to restaurants, shops, and evening entertainment. This was the perfect space for the 2 of us (Guest House #2). Everything you could want was provided (toaster, coffee maker, kettle, microwave, frig, dishes, glasses and cutlery) including a sofa, table and chairs and plenty of storage space. We really enjoyed sitting on the small front porch in the afternoon sun and listening to all the birdsong. The host was quickly responsive to questions or requests, and had good local recommendations. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day stay!

The perfect place as a hub to visit Gros Morne. The Tablelands, West Brooke Pond and yes the mountain. The drive in is spectacular, plan extra time to enjoy the views. We stayed four nights at Wildflowers Inn, cabin 2. It has the best amenities, a great location near restaurants and stores, and a beautiful view of the ocean. Best of all was the bed, as being weary travelers we slept for twelve hours straight! Very close to the trails in Gros Morne. An absolute jewel! Thank you for such a great stay.

My group of 3 stayed in the Garden View ensuite unit and it was an excellent place to land in Gros Morne. We felt right at home immediately. The amenities were just what we needed to organize ourselves a simple breakfast in the morning and to pack up a lunch, the shower was wonderful, loved that there is a half bath so there's no lineup if someone is in the shower! If you have limited mobility just be aware that there are a couple of stairs to the bathrooms, but we didn't find them difficult to navigate ultimately. Rob was an excellent host, was available to answer any questions and problem solved immediately with the minor things we thought of. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, and indeed wish we'd had time to spend more than one night.

The Quirpon Lighthouse Inn offers a one-of-a-kind experience, situated on an island that can only be reached by zodiac or helicopter. Guests are treated to a boat ride through iceberg alley as part of their stay, and the isolation of the island provides a unique sense of tranquility. The historic lighthouse from the 1920s features a whale and iceberg viewing station, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the surroundings.
We were there overnight but wish we could have stayed longer. I enjoyed the wind, the iceberg we saw early in the morning, and the cozy feeling of the space. The Zodiac ride was a delight. I'm an amputee so I hitched a ride on the gator to the Inn. The food was basic but better than I'd had in a lot of places in Newfoundland. Left my Kindle behind which they were happy to send to me. What a great experience!

Beautiful but not for everyone. Mid June 2025 I found it hard to find information on really what to expect so I'll try and give that. When you meet at the wharf there isn't any bathroom available, just fyi. It's only a 15-20 minutes ride there though (faster than I thought it would be). Bring layers. We were they in mid June and we used all of them. Bring rain pants as much for the wind on the boat as anything, but you will get wet if you're sitting at the back (but it's a smoother ride there). Ed has dry spots for bags. Bring toques, gloves wind/rain proof coat with hood for wind, hiking shoes, and/or rain boots with good tread. We had waterproof hiking runners that were ok, but we didn't get rain. Also bring slippers because you have to take shoes off at the door and the floors can be cold. It's about a 10-15 minute walk up hill to the houses. Ed was passing us with the luggage, they take that up for you, and offered us a ride the rest of the way, which was nice. There are two houses with rooms. The first (I labeled it second in the photos) house is about 5 minute from the main house, which is where all the meals are. Also, if you're staying in the other house, you have to walk back there to use the bathroom at your room, if needed. I would suggest staying in the main house, like others have said, if the choice. We had the large room in the other house, with an ensuite in the room, which was nice, but the toilet area was incredibly small so you have to back in, lol. Bed was comfortable. Each house has a living room to hang out in and an enclosed viewing room close by, although there one by us wasn't finished painting when we were there. You can buy wine, beer and pop in the main house. Juice, coffee, tea and water are provided. After reading things on the website I was concerned about having to walk the 5.5 km to the house if it was windy and we couldn't dock by the houses, but it was pretty windy when we came in and we docked at the normal spot. I saw a review about them having to lower a ladder down to get out of the boat, but there was a permanent ladder there and it was easy to get in and out of there boat. I also didn't think, from photos, there were seats in the boat, but there are. The island is beautiful, but two nights is perfect. All you need is one full day here, in our opinion. Definitely one night wouldn't be enough. There is very limited cell service but you do get the occasional bar on your phone when near the main house, if you're concerned about being totally off the grid. The ladies who work here are so nice and great cooks. The meals were good and filling. No need to bring snacks. If you want to go hiking here be prepared to hike where there are no trails. It's very rocky and marshy, so it’s a slow walk. All in all we had a great experience and are really glad we came. But our weather was good (although windy the day we came in and out). I think if it rained while you were here, the experience wouldn't be as good. But at least with the viewing buildings close by you can still enjoy the view and stay warm and dry. But bring a book. I only gave it a 4 because I save 5’s for places that have everything. But I know it was a 5 for many that were there at the same time as us. If you’re looking for a rugged get away from everything, this is it. We really liked it but there was room for improvement, so I couldn’t give it a 5. And if you have any mobility issues, this is not the place to go.

The Quirpon Island Inn is a truly unique and wonderful place! The team is friendly, the scenery is breathtaking, and the zodiac ride to the inn was exciting. The reason I am only giving this 3-stars is because of the wide gap between our expectations (based on the website) and cost (we paid $600/night), versus the reality of our experience. Had we known what to expect and chosen it with that in mind, our view of the experience would have been different. Here is what you can expect: - A fun zodiac ride to the island at a single scheduled time. As it is a small boat, you must limit your luggage to a small pack and you may not bring large suitcases. Bring a coat for the boat ride as even in the summer it is chilly. - The Inn itself is rustic, pretty, and relatively untouched over the years. This means no air conditioning, storm windows that do not open more than a crack, and external bathrooms that you must leave your room to use. You definitely feel like you are getting a true rustic lighthouse experience. Our room did have an en-suite bathroom, but the shower/toilet combination was as small as one on a cruise ship and the sink was outside the bathroom in the bedroom. We visited during an unseasonably warm period and, despite a small fan, our second-floor room was so hot overnight that we were unable to sleep. I imagine it would have been fine in more temperature spring/late fall weather, but consider this when booking in summer or winter. -There are no bath robes, so consider bringing your own if your bathroom is not in your room. - The food is delicious, but there is no restaurant and no bar. This means you eat what they make (no choices), at a set time (our dinner was at 7pm), at one communal table with the other guests. There is a small selection of alcohol which you may help yourself to, note in a ledger, and pay for at the end. Wine is not standard with dinner. I suggest bringing your own snacks and beverages if you have room. - There is no wifi and very-little-to-no cell reception. If you are looking for a place to totally unplug, this is a great option. - There is very little to do on the island besides hike it. While the website shows a helicopter, fishing tours, and other tours, these must need to be arranged in advance (call to inquire) because there was no helicopter or tours to join when we arrived. We did learn that a zodiac tour could be arranged on site. There are no regular shuttles on/off the island outside of the set time check-in arrivals and check-out departures. - There is a common sitting room with sofa/chairs, but there is nowhere to comfortably sit and play cards, etc. The dining table is often in-use or being set for the next meal. Plan to spend time sitting on the porch. - Mosquitos and flies can be quite bad depending on when you visit. Absolutely pack bug spray. - You will likely see whales! Many guests we were with saw whales on the zodiac ride over and/or from the property. This is a truly authentic, rustic experience and if that is what you are hoping for you will love the Quirpon Island Inn! The people are friendly, the food is good, there is lots of interaction with other guests, no devices, and the location is awe-inspiring! This is NOT a luxury experience and more like a bed-and-breakfast approach.

We traveled to Quirpon Island in mid-June, 2023 for two nights. Our experience was not as good as some of the other reviewers. It was very cold, a high of 36 Fahrenheit, the sea was rough and the wind gusts were over 30 mph. It was too late to cancel the reservation. Taking the Zodiac boat to the island was a rough go as the waves were high and it was scary; it was not fun and adventuresome as expected when we booked our stay. We took a hit from a large wave as Ed maneuvered the boat toward the dock and all of us in the boat got soaked (head to toe), along with our luggage and shoes. I didn’t stop trembling from the wet and cold until the next morning. The staff at the inn were gracious enough to wash and dry our clothes. We didn’t do any hiking on the island as it was so cold outside and the ground/rocks were wet and slippery. The staff in the kitchen were great. The food was good and reminiscent of visiting grandma’s house. We had a Zodiac iceberg/whale tour scheduled the second day but the seas remained rough. I was disappointed that Ed did not refund our money for the boat tour.

A lighthouse at the northern most point of Newfoundland. I mean come on…how is this not incredible? People need to get over their vision of anything other than this as a unique life experience unlike any other and not expect calm ocean waters, 5 star luxury, etc…The hiking was amazing, the views stunning and whale watching spectacular. The food and hospitality were excellent as well, but you go to Quirpon for the experience of it, which is truly unforgettable.
Paul U — Google review
We booked Quirpon Lighthouse Inn as the big splurge of our Newfoundland trip with my grandmother, aunt, and niece. We were especially excited to sleep in a lighthouse, which is how the stay is advertised in books, articles, and on the website. Unfortunately, the experience did not match the promise. The zodiac transfer felt disorganized and unsafe. There was no introduction or safety overview, and the lifejackets were very outdated. Guests started moving down towards the boat, and the captain (also the owner) remarked that too many people on the dock could sink it. My grandmother and another guest with a cane only received help from other passengers, not staff. The island itself is absolutely stunning and one of the most beautiful landscapes of our trip. However, the accommodations were a disappointment. We did not stay in the lighthouse or even get to go inside it, they “don’t have keys anymore”. Instead, we were placed in a separate house with ten bedrooms, most without ensuites, which made the rooms feel small and cramped. Our king and queen beds were comfortable, but the futon mattress was old and sagging, and the décor and linens were dated. The shared living room was too small to comfortably seat our small family let alone a house full of guests. While there was a bonus cabin nearby that provided extra space (see picture below), other guests in our house had not even been informed it existed. Walkways around the property were also unsafe, with loose stones that made them unstable. Both my gran and aunt nearly fell a couple of times, and for older guests this is a real hazard. Meals and service were another low point. When we arrived, we were told to check the main house to see if dinner was at six or seven. My aunt and grandmother went in but felt they were interrupting a staff meeting, as no one acknowledged them. Eventually we learned we were in the second seating. Dinner was fine but not memorable, with breaded fish and vegetables. Dessert, a cheesecake, was the highlight, breakfast was standard. Overall, the service was fine, but again, far from the 4-star experience that was advertised. The setting is incredible and the concept has so much potential, but the reality fell far short, especially given the cost. With better organization, safer facilities, updated interiors, and honest communication about what guests can expect, this could no doubt be one of the most special places in Newfoundland. As it stands, it felt like staying in a dated, under-maintained cottage rather than the unique lighthouse experience we had hoped for.

Picturesque location with peaceful hiking and amazing whale and iceberg watching! The staff were friendly and informative. Highlight of our trip so far.

Quirpon Lighthouse Inn is the most unique hotel I have ever stayed in. It is a adventurous paradise only reachable by boat! Being stuck on this island gives you time to explore the entire island, go on zodiac tours and whale/iceberg watch! Ed is the best! He drives the boats, gives the tours, runs the hotel, owns the hotel and tells the best stories! Ed is one of the coolest and most genuine person I have ever met! Lastly, if you want to see tons of icebergs and whales stay on Quirpon Island! It is a life changing adventure!

Ryan Mansion is an upscale hotel located in St. John's, offering an elegant and luxurious experience for its guests. The mansion features ornate staircases and opulent decor reminiscent of the Titanic, with heated marble floors, therapeutic tubs, Frette linens, in-room fireplaces, and original works by local artists. The hotel also offers a complimentary English breakfast and amenities such as a business center, concierge services, and laundry facilities.
This was so much better than staying at a hotel. Very personable and friendly management that seemed to do everything from cooking to waiting on guests and receiving guests (like us) at all hours after midnight. This is a legitimate British colonial, dark wood and spacious mansion. Wonder architecture and very well kept. We will certainly stay here again - my only request is more parking please 😇

Ryan Mansion is a majestic house with an old English charm. It is the opposite of a corporate hotel with cubes for rooms and impersonal service. Ryan Mansion is a unique, grand, swanky wood-clad venue and majestic place which has retained its grandeur in the huge fireplaces, large spacious hallways and elegantly decorated rooms. The bathroom was clean and big. The bed was extremely comfortable. The walks to the harbour, galleries, and surrounding parks are right there; no need to drive anywhere. The host, Mary, or “MM” for “Brilliant Mary,” is welcoming, hard-working, and has the most adorable accent. She cooks the most unique local breakfasts, which we enjoyed in the quiet splendour of the Breakfast Room. Robert, the proprietor, is polite, charming and friendly. His attention to detail and his décor of the house are astounding. Highly recommended!

Beautiful stay. The best place to stay in luxury. Highly recommended.

Outstanding! Newfoundland hospitality at its finest! The House, as they call it is absolutely magnificent, rooms are spacious with gorgeous bathroom, super comfy bed and nespresso coffee maker. Everything was absolutely spotless. The House oozes of history and is an experience in its own right. It’s at a great location to walk to downtown, the Harbor or to the Rooms. But what stood out the most, was the love and kindness that Robert and Mary showed us. We were welcomed like family and felt so at home there. Mary cooks beautiful and delicious breakfasts. This is a special place and recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone.

Rooms are very stuffy, even moldy. They try to off set this with an extremely strong air freshener. The staff was cold. The morning breakfast was mediocre at best. While admittedly the first half was good (orange juice with a bowl of fruit). The second half was disappointing, 6 heavily salted baked potatoes, and a bagel with simply butter. Location is quite good, a little outside St. John’s, unfortunately, parking is quite difficult. Overall, the price was much too high for the experience, at this price you could easily get yourself a nice suite at the four seasons. Undoubtedly the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. You’ll truly feel ripped off. Just a note, St. John’s is really having a very difficult accommodation problem currently. Some “regular” hotels are fully booked from now until early December (currently writing late August). This allows for substandard experiences without major drawbacks and a very large increase in Airbnb or VRBO rentals. Hope this helps, I actively discourage going to this hotel, while it might’ve been of better quality in the past, current economic conditions have allowed for it to become substandard, hopefully to recover one day.

This is an absolute gem in a great city. Beautiful surroundings, extremely comfortable and the attention to detail is second to none. The proprietor Robert was very welcoming and Mary added some island charm to our stay and looked after us like we were family. Highly recommend.

I had the best time at Ryan Mansion, mostly made excellent by Mary, the woman running everything alongside the owner. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. Would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone. Good old Island hospitality.

This place is advertised as a 5 star hotel. It is NOT. It is a no frills bed and breakfast in a run down old mansion on a weeds everywhere zero landscaping effort piece of property on a busy road in St, John’s. It is COMPLETE false advertising. Our room was on the third floor (no elevator and a NARROW staircase to get there) with the only available window being used for a freestanding air conditioning unit in the room- it was clean enough, but at the price point of Ryan Mansion, I was shocked and disappointed to say the least. There are NO amenities. There’s no bar (advertised), there’s nothing at all that would justify a 5 star hotel rating. It’s downright criminal.

I stayed here for a few nights in the summer of 2014 and accidentally broke the mirror in the wardrobe of the smallest bedroom. The innkeeper was very kind about it.
