Island
The Pakleni Islands, a group of around 20 islands near Hvar, Croatia, are a stunning natural wonder with crystal-clear waters and secluded beaches. Visitors can enjoy activities like boating, diving, snorkeling, and kayaking. Popular spots include Palmizana on St. Clement Island, Jerolim Island with nude beaches, and Marinkovac with the famous Carpe Diem Beach Club.
Wonderful place to take a dip in the water, also for snorkelling. On a sunny day, this place can get very busy. Also, can take a small walk up the hill and capture some light and clicks. I would recommend to carry some snacks, as I didn’t find many options to eat.

For Vinogradišće bay and beach: Shade difficul to find on the beach which doesn't have shower nor changing rooms. Prices of meals and drinks very high in the nearby restaurants and bars. One bar didn't even have order menu. Vegetation natural and beautiful.

Beautiful place, idiylic waters and a fantastic place to while the day away and unwind.

Perfect place for boating, nice bays to anchor, lot of good restaurants, bars and hidden places. The main island itslef is like a botanic garden.

Public beach
Plaža Malo Zaraće is a renowned beach on the island of Hvar, known for its picturesque and Instagram-worthy setting. The beach features breathtaking rock formations and stunning turquoise blue waters. Situated in the village of Zarace, it is nestled below impressive cliffs, offering a unique Adriatic experience. Accessible by boat or car, this beach provides an ideal spot for relaxation and enjoying the clear blue waters.
One of those spots that we always return to. The natural shade of pine trees with fish swimming around you and clear sea. In the immediate vicinity is the Veliko Zaraće bay with a slightly different, beautiful ambience with the service of the Gega tavern for those who want to have lunch on the beach.
Jo_vana — Google review
The beach itself is beautiful at first glance, but there are a few downsides worth noting. Just a few meters from the shore, there’s a thick line of seaweed that makes swimming less enjoyable. The space to lay down towels is quite limited.
Aleksandar I — Google review
Sea crystal clean and a beach that has shade and sun (at least around noon). Not too much parking spaces close by, and a lot of uphill/downhill driving to the beach, but the road is asphalt and okay.
Marko D — Google review
Perfect clear water, easy access with car and enough parking - perfect for people who want to escape the crowds. Need to come prepared with food, drinks, towels, etc, as there are no bars.
Camila G — Google review
One of the nicest beaches in Hvar with a lot of natural shade. Loved it. The only thing is that it can be hard to find parking close if the one next to the beach is full so go earlier to get your spot.
Natasa M — Google review
The place was stunning, crystal clear water no doubt about it, easy access (compared to many other beaches we went by cars. There're free and paid parking (imited spaces), We were lucky someone was leaving, so we've found a free parking 😁. No bars though, we brought our lunch and drinks with us. More sunny spaces in the afternoon. Love it.
Phanida S — Google review
A very small, quiet beach with crystal clear water. The shoreline is rocky, and getting into the sea can be tricky because of the stones, but if you enjoy peaceful and clean spots, this place is ideal. The sunsets here are stunning. Access from the main road is simple, with a narrow asphalt road leading down to the beach. Just keep in mind that parking is limited and can be a headache to find. Now, the ugly part: one family showed up with two big dogs, and one of them straight up took a shit in the water. Nothing ruins a crystalclear beach vibe faster than swimming next to floating dog crap. I like dogs, but not when I’m sharing the sea with their toilet. No idea if it’s officially allowed, but clearly no one cares. Be ready either to shut up and deal with it or pick a fight.
Dan M — Google review

Nestled on the south side of Hvar island, near Ivan Dolac, beach Jagodna is a picturesque cove with a pebble beach and clear waters. Surrounded by dense pine forests and offering rocks for jumping into the sea, it has captivated many travelers. The area features a campsite, restaurant, and nearby shopping in Ivan Dolac. Additionally, Pokrivenik Cove on the eastern side of the island boasts stunning cliffs and a pebble beach at its center.
Awesome place, heaven. I recommend visiting in the morning during the season cos i was there lunch time and it was a little crowded but still not a big deal and worth it

Small and crowdy beach with a little space to lay down. Water is fantastic! And small cliffs surrounding the beach. Above camping, that is why is crowd. But it’s good beach for short visit.
Małgorzata K — Google review
Fantastic beach for kids without any sea urchins. Great find here, lots of places to move down and find your own space. The kids love it and the water was so crystal clear! Parking down inside the camp ground.
Tristo M — Google review
Great beach but no way of parking. All the parking downstairs is for the camping and no real place to leave the car up the road
Daniel A — Google review
I loved this beach, the water is super clear and there are a lot of fish in the sea. However, the beach is very tiny and crowded, especially since there is a camping close by.
Lisa G — Google review
This beach is A M A Z I N G The blue colors are breath taking There are two bays where you can swim to You can jump into the water from a platform which you can reach with a ladder. The beach itself is very small so be aware of that when you are coming late There is place for maybe 6 cars (free parking)
Youssef K — Google review
Great beach, amazing water and a lot of place in shade of pines. Parking is an issue like everywhere else, come either early or park a bit far.

Palmižana Beach is a must-visit destination in the Pakleni Islands, known for its narrow sandy shoreline lined with sun loungers and beach bars, creating a vibrant summer atmosphere. It's a popular spot with several waterfront restaurants and bars, making it the heart of the action. The crystal-clear azure sea and beautiful nature around the beach make it a wonderful place to relax.
I found myself in a west African land such as Ghana or Ivory Coast : the beach, the heat, the trees... The water? Cristal clear and inviting but very cold.
Ramata S — Google review
The beach is very picturesque, but be aware that the swimming area is quite small and mostly surrounded by boats playing loud music. When we tried to swim beyond the designated area, we found it dangerous because the seabed was full of sea urchins. Not ideal if you’re looking for a relaxing swim.
Iyad Z — Google review
Came here with my partner on a day tour, it was absolutely beautiful. The water is crystal clear, the surrounding bars and restaurants look amazing, are well shaded, and overall it’s like paradise on earth. I feel like it would need a public changing area or bathroom etc, as we had to ask around at a restaurant nearby and the first place we asked, the waiter was the most arrogant man I’ve ever spoke to. The swimming areas are also quite small but stunning and definitely worth experiencing. Beware for urchins also
Ryan E — Google review
Palmižana Beach is a wonderful place. Water is crystal clear and nature around the beach is amazing. Sunbeds are quite expensive - 25 euros. Reaching Palmižana Beach by boat is easy (20-30 minutes from Hvar). The return ticket costs 15 euros and you can return to Hvar every hour from 4-7PM.
Jovan R — Google review
Opposite Hvar is this beautiful bay that we often sail to and stay for 2 or 3 nights. Such a great spot to swim off the yacht or on the beach. Sunsets are special and there are a few good restaurants to have a drink or lunch / dinner.
Lee P — Google review
Beautiful clean beach with lovely and friendly staff. Not overpriced. Nice crowd around and of course the million dollar view and the sea. Clear turquoise water, sandy entrance, no wind, no loud music. Paradise spot. Coming here for years and it just gets better.
Aleksandra H — Google review
Nice beach with both stone and sand, but bit overcrowded with lots of noisy tourists on boats.
Vladimir R — Google review
If there weren’t so many yachts and boats and if the swimming area wasn’t so small, it could maybe get 4 or 5 points. But now, even in September, it is very crowded. The small beach is full of sunbeds, and there is almost no space left for people to swim or sit.

Pokonji Dol Beach is a dreamy spot just a 25-minute stroll from Hvar town. It offers natural beauty and tranquility, making it a favorite gathering place for both locals and tourists. The idyllic bay, surrounded by teal waters, provides the perfect setting for relaxation. With sun loungers, palm trees, and refreshing drinks available, visitors can enjoy a leisurely day on the largest pebble beach on the island of Hvar.
That’s beautiful beach , close to the town , there are 2 ways from city to walk there or from the hill , Very beautiful clear , clean pebble beach 🏖️ early morning until 9 am beach still peaceful after that a lot of ppl there , so if you lucky you can get some spot for sun baht .
Manita B — Google review
When we visited, most places nearby were still closed—which actually made the experience better. The beach was quiet, peaceful, and far less crowded than usual. We were among just a few people there, which made it feel like a hidden gem. The water was clear and clean, perfect for a swim. Just a heads-up—it’s a pebble beach, so beach shoes or sandals definitely help. Easily one of the better beaches in Hvar.
Prateek Z — Google review
We didn’t even try to go to the beach, it was clear from afar that it was crowded. But there were some sunbeds on the rocks that you could rent for €40 for the whole day (two sunbeds and an umbrella). I highly recommend it. The water was very clean, and there were stairs nearby to get down and swim. There were also spots where you could jump into the water from a height. On top of that, the guy in charge of the sunbeds was very friendly to us. If you come to this beach, I recommend staying in the sunbed area. It’s worth paying for. The place is beautiful.
Marta A — Google review
The beach itself is beautiful, with very clear water and no visible dirt. Just keep in mind that it’s all pebbles, so a thick base under your towel and an umbrella are a must, as there’s no natural shade. The downside is the rental prices – €20 for a sunbed and €10 for an umbrella is pretty unreasonable, especially since rentals only start from 10:00. For those who prefer to come early in the morning (like 7:00–12:00), paying €50 for just a couple of hours feels insane. Another minus is that the umbrellas don’t include a small table or hooks for clothes. I would still recommend the beach, but definitely bring your own gear for comfort and health.
Yanina V — Google review
Nice beach to swim and to enjoy the sun. The bedsuns have to be paid by cash. The restaurant has an ATM with 5.8% commission..
Thibault D — Google review
The cala is the bluest water I’ve seen. Not do crowded. It has a bathroom for 1 euro and a nearby restaurant. It has a short hike down on a rocky road. We loved it!
John P — Google review
A beautiful natural cove beach excellent for swimming! We brought our own goggles so we could lap the designated swim area. You could snorkel but there isn’t much to see, watch out for sea urchins! There is a bar and restaurant available but seemed very overpriced. Instead we stopped at some markets in town and brought our own food and drinks. You are able to drive or taxi from the town, taxi men wait at the lot to take you back. But we just walked the short but steep path down from the town. Went on a Friday afternoon and yes it was crowded in the main beach area, but there are places in the trees on the west side that had more space and provided sun protection. Could have spent the whole day here! Was a wonderful time, hope to return one day.

Public beach
Plaža Dubovica is a hidden gem located just a short drive from Hvar town. It's nestled in a picturesque cove with clear waters and white pebbles, surrounded by old stone houses and olive groves. The beach offers amenities such as a snack bar, toilets, and natural shade while still preserving its secluded and wild atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy casual beachfront dining at the bar with refreshing cocktails available.
One of the best beach in Croatia. It is small but beautiful and quiet. A few places under the trees to protect from the sun. You have to arrive early to get a place to park your car on the road. There are a few spots in 2 different places. You have to hike about 10 min to go to the beach, the return is uphill...
Michael B — Google review
Dubovica is a gem! There are some parking spots beside the road, but not enough. They are on the sun as well… It takes cca 15 min by foot after that on a rocky road to get there, but it is worth it. Small/medium pebbles, some shade, clear water, two restaurants and one cafe in an ild stone house a bit pricier side, but hey, you will enjoy them :)
Dule V — Google review
A beautiful little beach in nature. The color of the sea is incredible. The water is crystal clear. A pair of trees can provide shade for those who need shade. There is a cafe/restaurant located on the beach. The only drawback, which may not suit someone, is that the beach is rocky. So, whoever is not a favorite of it, it will not suit him.
Aleksandra N — Google review
There is no private parking, we parked by the road, from here it's a 5 minute walk down - unfortunately it's 15 minutes up, but worth it. Down below is a perfect cove, clear water, two small, family run restaurants, one with bar service so we don't die of hunger and thirst. There are no beds for hire, but the pebbles are smaller and round, so you can sunbathe comfortably on a plain towel. No mobile network, the perfect place if you REALLY want to escape... (You can pay by card in the restaurant and bar.) Perfect peace and sweet escape❤️
Zsófia P — Google review
Probably the best beach in Hvar, bring shoes to trek up and down the path you will have to trek in order to get to the beach itself. Don’t be that guy wearing sandals because it’s just that much easier to slap a pair of sandals on. You will thank me later. The beach is very private and quaint despite the trek it is a wonderful beach and my personal favorite in all of Europe. Furthermore, like most beaches in Croatia, it is rock not sand you will be laying on.
Tyler M — Google review
Nice beach. A little bit hard to go down to the beach and get back up, but if you come with a boat it's great. There are two small restaurants and one bar. No trees no shade. Pretty big for the beaches of Hvar. Not great for kids.
Ina B — Google review
Truly stunning. Do some research on the history of the buildings before you go! The church is nearly 400 years old!
Lolly L — Google review

The crystal-clear waters and the half of the beach reserved for a local family add to its charm.

Carpe Diem Beach Hvar is a vibrant beach club located in Stipanska Bay, on Marinkovac Island near Hvar town. During the day, it offers a relaxing lounge atmosphere with comfortable sunbeds and crystal-clear waters for guests to enjoy. At night, the club transforms into the trendiest spot with an on-site restaurant, multiple bar counters, dance floors, and a swimming pool.
Went here for the day with my wife on our honeymoon. One of our only relaxing days. Took the little boat over from Hvar and we had such an amazing time. Everything was seemless. We showed up and out over the sea bed was waiting. Our server immediately came over and asked us if we needed anything. We felt no pressure or anything to order. This was about relaxing and enjoying the music, food, drinks and view. We reserved the bed for $150 and there was a $350 minimum spend. Easy to hit with food and drinks. I found it to be a value since we were there from 1130-5pm although we could have stayed til 7pm. If you are looking for a chill vibe for a day, this is great.
Matthew S — Google review
Beautiful location by the water and taking the ferry to the island to party is a beautiful setting. However sadly with the noise restrictions and party restrictions, the bar and restaurant only function as the parties have stopped. However, the food was great and we had a good time
Ayushman P — Google review
It's ok. Definitely overpriced, the VIP experience is fairly basic to be honest. The service is good but they don't offer or sell sunscreen and the amenities are pretty basic. The sushi ship was good, food was probably the best part of the experience. The waiter who was serving us at the sunbeds suggested a 20% tip which was a total joke couldn't believe the audacity given the price of the sunbeds is €100 each!
Karina A — Google review
We had an amazing day at Carpe Diem on Wednesday. We got the Sea Net package, which was beautiful and super relaxing right by the water. Our server Dom was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and really made our day. We stayed for dinner too, and the food was delicious. Overall, great vibes, great service, and a perfect spot to enjoy Hvar.

An incredible beach club just a short boat ride from Hvar Town. The daytime vibe is perfect for relaxing on comfortable sunbeds with crystal-clear water, while the on-site restaurant serves a great mix of sushi, pizza, and other dishes. As the sun sets, the place comes alive with DJs and live performances, creating a fun, energetic nightlife. Boats to and from Hvar Town make access easy, and the overall atmosphere is both chic and vibrant—perfect for a full day of sun, food, and music. Get a reservation!

A gorgeous and quiet beach with extremely clean, blue sea water. Good idea to bring some sort of shoe to wear into the water because the pebbles are a bit uncomfortable to walk on. Only 10 euros for the return boat taxi from Hvar town. So glad I did this and would recommend to anyone!!
Jessica B — Google review
Lovely island. Beach is shelving rock, not sand, but ok. Good swimming. Bar among the trees. All is naturist - see my pics, but when we were there a lot of people stayed dressed, despite the notice. A pity.
Jim H — Google review
A lot of creeps. Please be careful especially with your kids there.. Basically, it is a nice island with nudist beach but quite inappropriate behaviour. Not because of nudity of course, but because of exhibitionism. My experience; we had a guy that sat right behind us naked and he was spreading his legs in a very suggestive way, shortly after, he started to touch himself... Another guy had a full on boner near the beach where people swim and just stood there with his towel (not even hiding it) waiting for people to come out of the water to show them his boner. He then sat right next to the rock watching people come out of the water nude.. with his boner. People don't seem to care but better watch out. It was very unpleasant..

Paradise on earth. It’s basically one small island with one bar so it’s very peaceful. You can hike a bit around too. Frequent taxi boats bringing you back to Hvar town. Photo from September 2022.

Strand Mekićevica is a collection of stunning beaches and coves located just outside Hvar Town. The area offers a variety of beach experiences, from pebble beaches to sandy shorelines tucked into protected coves. Visitors can explore picturesque spots like Milna, Zarace, and Dubovica, each with its own unique charm and crystal-clear turquoise waters.
This is one of the best beaches I visited at Hvar. To get there, you can park car at Pokonji dol, and then you have to walk for 15 kinutes through the woods, but it is definitely worth it. Beach is covered with beautiful white rock and water is crystal clear. Even there were no urchins in the water, like on the other beaches. There is no bar on this beach, but there is Robinson bar 5 minutes from here.
Marko S — Google review
By far the best beach on Hvar. Highly recommend. Did require to park at Pokonji Dol and walk ~20 mins through a forest, but was worth it.
Tommy — Google review
so if you’re in hvar and only have the option to reach beaches by foot, I highly recommend going to this one. first, get to pokonji dol and from there take a 20-minute trail walk. it’s small, wide rocky and clear water. totally worth it for the silence and peaceful atmosphere.
Belén M — Google review
A really nice small beach, few people, a long walk from Hvar, but worth it! Wear comfortable shoes, bring lots of water and try to get there early ish so that you can seek shade under the big tree over rocks on the right hand side - you will have your own “private” entrance to the sea and some flat surface to lie/sit down on. Sea shoes highly recommended if you go on the rocks! We spent 3 hours there, snorkeled and even saw some new fish we hadn’t seen in central Hvar. It was great 💛
Silvija S — Google review
Beautiful secluded beach about 40 minutes walk from Hvar Town. The path is very uneven and the beach is rocky so bring suitable shoes. There’s no facilities at the beach which makes it nice and quiet.
Benjamin H — Google review
Very nice beach for spending a day. Not that much crowded. Water is clean and everything is great. There are a lot of threes so you can have natural shade.
Milos Z — Google review
Lovely beach with beautiful water. Well worth the walk. I went in thongs/jandals/ flip flops which were ok but it wouldn’t hurt to have sturdier shoes. Water shoes would help with getting in and out of the water but we did it in bare feet without too much drama - just a bit of winching and grimacing.
Rob M — Google review
Nice beach, bigger than nearby Robinson Beach. It has a small concrete “pier” and a lot of shade from trees. Accesible walking. Second picture is of a nearby bar which has a lot of chairs and it’s pretty cool. The beach itself has no constructions.

Bonj Beach is a luxurious spot located just a 10-minute walk from the main harbor, making it easily accessible for visitors. The beach offers a sense of exclusivity with its four-poster sunbeds and turquoise waters perfect for swimming. While the prices for renting sunbeds may be higher, the beach is ideal for those looking to stay close to Hvar town or near the Amfora Grand Beach Hotel.
Awesome little beach. A bit if a walk outside the main harbour of Hvar but well worth it. Water is crystal clear and not too crowded. There is a pier that takes you to some deep water. I even managed to bump into a local octopus underwater . I wouldn’t rent a chair of umbrella if you are only there for a short time. Good place to get changed and a brilliant view of the ocean on the walk there and back from the harbour.
Thomas C — Google review
Beautiful relaxing location, the sea is so clear and safe to swim, beautiful beaches and easier to buy a pair of Tunas for your feet when accessing the sea, instead of struggling on small stones.
Alan C — Google review
Beautiful!! The water is so clear and blue. Only downside is it is a stone beach so sand shoes would be useful. Otherwise just jump off the pier so you don’t have to walk on the rocks! We sat up the back under the trees as the beach chairs are for the hotel behind the beach otherwise you have to pay at the beach club which is expensive. I’d encourage you to walk further around the bay and find cheaper chairs if you want them! We did this the next day and got chairs for €20 each at Hula outside the coffee shop (umbrella included) but prices varied depending on where the chairs were.

Love this beach oasis! Nice little hike to get there and clear water! Water is shallow enough to swim and lounge around.

Buibanth — Google review
One of the best beaches around Hvar. Very close to the center. Stony beach and underwater, but you will be comfortable with shoes. Been there only on evenings (after 19 mostly), was empty - just several people.
Vladislovas Č — Google review
It's so nice to swim. The water is calm and clean. If you rent a sunbed for 15 euros, you can use it all day. It's really comfortable! But I think you have to go before 12 to rent it. Everyone stays for a long time, so if you come after that, you have to wait a long time. The floor is stone and your feet hurt and it's hot, so aqua shoes are a must. There is also a free bathroom.

Beach Mala Milna is a beautiful spot located near Hvar, surrounded by coves and the peak of Glavica. The beach is quite lively with plenty of boats and Croatian families visiting. It offers clean waters, few rocks, and easy access from Milna town via a coastal path. The crystal-clear blue water makes it family-friendly with options for snacks available. The beach has pebbles, calm waves, and no sea urchins.
Wonderful place with light green sea colour. 😍 Nature all over the beach. Relaxing, beutiful 👌
Emili — Google review
Very crowded with a lot of kids. The water was cold and the rocks in the water are very slippery. Wear water shoes. I can’t imagine why people consider these rock filled places beaches.
D R — Google review
The biggest advantage of this beach is that there are quite a few parking spots, we found a parking lot pretty easily, the beach is quite small and the water gets a bit dirty from the port being right next to the swimming area. There are a few bars around, no public toilets, showers are 0.5€ per 30 seconds, there is a really nice lady at the bar next to the port that exchanged our money. If you walk towards the camping site (literally 3 minutes at max) there’s another smaller beach with much more shade area. There are bigger rocks that are kind of slippery so it’s harder to get into the water but the water overall is pretty warm.
Kornelia — Google review
Wonderful place to swim and sunbathe. The water is spectacular.
Mark L — Google review
Nice secluded beach a short walk from Milna town. The deck chairs were reasonable, as we got a pair of chairs and an umbrella for 20 euro.
Tarald R — Google review
Beautiful beach, quite lively. Plenty of boats come here, and croatian families, so if you are looking for a quiet spot you better look elsewhere. Otherwise, clean waters, few rocks, very suitable for swimming. Easy access from Milna town following a coastal path of a couple of hundred meters.
Gianluca F — Google review
Such a beautiful beach with crystal clear blue water. Family friendly and enough options for a snack. Parking is paid but affordable, there are showers but we saw nobody use them, so not sure if they work (paid). There are no sea urchins. The waves are very calm. The beach has pebbles.

Fortress
Perched atop a hill, Fortica Fortress, also known as Spanjola, is an elevated stronghold accessible by car or a scenic walk. Dating back to the 16th century, this fortress was strategically built to defend Hvar Town against invaders. Visitors can explore its military history and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the town, harbor, and nearby Pakleni Islands. The climb to the fortress offers stunning vistas that capture Hvar's natural beauty and maritime heritage.
A must visit when in Hvar. Make sure you wear comfy walking shoes. The pathway is fairly flat with small pebbles. If you get tired going part way up, there are seats along the way plus there’s a small store to buy water and cold drinks. From the top, the view of Hvar is spectacular as you can see the islands nearby. At the top, there’s a dining area for drinks and food plus a couple of gift stores with handmade crafts. There’s even a prison. The admission to the fortress is 10 Euros for adults. If it’s not within your budget, there are a few photo opts part way up. I would have loved seeing the sunset here.
Melanie E — Google review
The view over Hvar from the fortress is beautiful, but getting there takes a bit of effort. My partner and I went before dinner, all dressed up—not the best idea, since the walk up is longer than it looks. Around 8 pm the small shop for drinks and snacks was already closed, and in the summer heat we ended up sweating quite a bit. I’d recommend visiting in the morning or late afternoon when it’s cooler. At the top, there’s a €10 entrance fee. Inside you’ll find a small prison with narrow stairs and low ceilings, but the real highlight is the stunning panorama of Hvar harbor. Worth it for the view, but plan your timing wisely.
Thobias ( — Google review
It's a long walk up many flights of stairs through the old town followed by an even longer walk up a winding path through the woods to reach the fortress - there are benches here and there to sit on for a rest. If you don't go inside (pay to go in), there isn't much to do apart from admire the view down to Hvar harbour. Top tip: the view is better from the path about one-third of the way down.
David L — Google review
Definitely the best views of Hvar town and out to the islands. We did it 10am and it was a good time, before the bus tours and before it good to hot. It is a climb up the steps in the city but the path is much more gentle. You should buy the combined ticket as it is only 5€ more than the fortress entrance price and then you see the theatre and clock tower too. We glad did. You must go down into the dungeon but the steps are narrow and uneven, so be careful. We explored all over and you get different views from each place.
Simon R — Google review
If you love to hike and like some really stunning views of the ocean, coastline, the town and the islands you're in for a treat. On a bright and breezy day it could be even more rewarding. Do not miss.
Anna D — Google review
Today was supposed to be a relax day… ha! Instead, we hiked up to the fort and earned those spectacular views the hard way. Worth every step. But be sure to admire this incredible piece of history at night. I call it the castle in the sky. Hvar, you are pure magic. 💛🇭🇷
Shannon B — Google review
Beautiful view of Hvar from here. It doesn't take very long to walk up to the top to get to the Fortress. There is a prison with narrow steps and low ceilings. There are a few benches with amazing view just outside of the main entrance if you dont fancy paying to enter the fortress. We visited on a hot sunny morning just before catching the ferry back to Split and it took us just over an hour for this visit.
Ellie R — Google review
The views are the best here at this fortress. The walk up is about 10-15 minutes and can make you break a sweat but it's totally worth it. At the top you can get different angles of the bay, watch all the cruises and yachts coming in and out and also have a drink or two at their bar on top. Highly recommended if you go to Havr you cannot miss this spot. I believe it's like €10 to go in.

Plaža Ivan Dolac is a stunning beach located in the seaside resort of Ivan Dolac on Hvar Island. It boasts a picturesque bay with fine light pebbles and mesmerizing turquoise waters. The surrounding pine forests and rocky bluffs add to its charm, making it an ideal destination for a peaceful beach vacation. Families with children will appreciate the gentle waters and soft pebble beach, while amenities such as restaurants, a cafe bar, and a small supermarket provide convenience for visitors.
This place has its own magic. The almost perfectly smooth rocky beach. The people, the service...the peace.... unique, beautiful, unforgettable.
Dαnα M — Google review
The 3 stars are only reflecting the difficulty in getting to this area of the island. The beach area in Ivan Dolac is beautiful but note that to get here or to visit Sveta Nedjelja you can only do so by car unless you are the most ardent of trekkers and like a challenge then you have no option but to traverse the 7 km up and around the mountain as the Pitve tunnel is only suitable for cars and small vans. If you plan to bike it, and the journey from Jelsa to Pitve town by bike is absolutely beautiful be warned that the surface of the macadam road on which you have to travel to circumvent the tunnel is composed of rubble and loose rock, I am not even sure an MTB could manage it, I had to walk with my mountain bike, 7 km extra, about 2.5 HR, so I would not recommend this as a cycle route to the other side of the island. However, as an alternative route, it is possible to cycle from Jelsa, Starigrad etc to Hvar town, the road surface is very good, the views superb and the 400m climb worth it!!! Again, bikes cannot use this other tunnel but at least the old road is in a good condition. Ivan Dolac itself is a small town composed mainly of apartments. There's not much else here except for the beach. There are 2 main restaurants and a small store for groceries. There is a nice fresh bakery and a lovely little snack bar by the name of Dolce Mare.

Rent a boat Luigi Hvar offers an excellent opportunity to explore the stunning coastline and surrounding islands of Hvar. With various boats suitable for different group sizes and budgets, including options from popular rental companies like Mario Rent and Hvar Boats, visitors can easily find the perfect vessel for their adventure. The experience includes friendly and informative service, with staff providing guidance on operating the boat and recommending the best beaches to visit.
We had the best time renting a boat in Hvar! Our skipper was super friendly and attentive — he took us to the most beautiful spots, from hidden coves to crystal-clear swimming areas we’d never have found on our own. We got to see so much and had such a fun, relaxing day on the water. We loved it so much we actually decided to do it again a few days later! It ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. If you’re in Hvar, definitely don’t miss out on this — 100% recommend! Best boat service on the island!

We had the best day doing this and can’t recommend highly enough! We were going to book onto one of the expensive boat tours to the blue caves and then saw you could hire your own boat for the day, which seemed much more fun! We had no experience with a boat but we were shown how to sail it and it was quite easy to do. After a little lesson and a practise we were off! If your not fussed about the blue caves and you want to have fun do this instead and this company are fantastic. Friendly, easy to communicate with and helpful. Thank you so much :-)

We rented a boat from Luigi Rent during our vacation in Croatia and it was a wonderful experience! Ivan, from Luigi Rent, was incredibly kind. He explained everything to us in detail, gave us helpful advice on the itinerary, and showed us the most beautiful places to see on the surrounding islands. Thanks to him, we had an unforgettable day, with complete freedom but with the peace of mind of knowing we had all the support we needed. Highly recommended!

Ivan was a wonderful skipper! He took us to a few different islands and swimming spots. It was such a perfect boat day, and we stopped for a beautiful lunch. This was our favorite experience in Hvar. Thank you Ivan for taking such good care of us and showing us around the Pakleni Islands!

Thank you to Ivan and his brother, we had a great day hiring our own boat and exploring the islands. Boat was perfect for what we needed and great value for money. Highly recommend if you are in Hvar! One of our favourite days of our holiday.
Natalie A — Google review
We hired a boat from Boat Luigi for just €90 for the day to explore the Pakleni but ourselves. So much better value and more private than the group tours from town - we had the freedom to choose where we went & how long we stayed in each bay. The speedboat was a good size & cane with a small canopy - we were shown some basic manoeuvres in the harbour and even given recommended bays to dock and plenty of other tips for the perfect day. If you have any issues at all the staff are super helpful & can be contacted via WhatsApp. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.
Conor W — Google review
Luigi and his brother are very helpful and they know the drill. We rented a 5hp boat as we wanted to explore the island by ourselves and they explained us how everything worked; They were reachable by WhatsApp every time for any concerns or emergencies on the journey! Don’t even need to say how beautiful it was ⭐️

Jerolim is a serene island getaway in the Adriatic islands, known for its nude beaches and limited visitor facilities. The beach boasts crystal clear waters, rocky shores, and unspoiled nature, making it a popular spot for swimming. Accessible by water taxi from Hvar, the island offers clothing-optional beaches with one side exclusively for nudists. Visitors can rent beach beds and mats at a small beach cafe and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere with few people around.
Heaven on Earth? No, just a little island in Croatia. You can go there by a taxi boat from Hvar. The water is so bright blue and clear, the forest surrounding the beaches quiet and charming and there are not many people, fortunately. The best thimg is that the whole island is naturist friendly and you can be naked everywhere, but some people still had their swimsuits on. The island is small, but big enough so you can find a secret spot only for yourself. Yep, this place really is heaven on Earth.

it was absolutely beautiful and so relaxing <3 definitely very rocky, like most beaches i've gone to in croatia, but the water is just stunningly clear, had a relaxing hour here ~

A beautiful little fkk & dog-friendly island where naturism has been encouraged for 100+ years allowed everywhere: on beaches, pathwalks and even in the whole beach bar 🏖 Take the taxi boat from the city of Hvar (10€ return ticket) and enjoy the crystal clear Adriatic Sea
Domagoj J — Google review
Went here today, lovely beach, cafe and toilet open, only a few people were there so it was very quiet, beach beds 80kns for 2 people made it more comfortable. Unfortunately the water was dirty near the edge only a very small part that was clean so difficult to enter and enjoy. When I came 6 years ago the water was so clear so I am not sure why this is happening! If you go to the other side (where the boat drops you off) the water is clearer!
Rachel D — Google review
It's 10 minutes by taxi boat from Hvar. For 50 kunas in 2021) you get a chance to have a round trip to Jerolim or even to Carpe Diem and back to Hvar. First boat from Hvar departs about 9 am and then another taxi boat departs every 20 minutes (except when the boat is full). After arriving at Jerolim, you take 5 minutes path to the beach. Indeed the beach welcomes nudists, but you can also enjoy the sun wearing your swimsuit. There is a bar with snacks and cold beverages. You can rent a wooden folding bed and umbrella (costs 40 kunas per person or more if you add umbrella). The main beach is rocky, but pebbles are quite smooth. You will enjoy the sun, and crystal clear waters in the bay. Near the rocky edges of the bay you can watch underwater life of fishes. Sea urchins are not located near the entrance to the sea. I happened to be there in September, so the beach was not crowded as the small beaches in Hvar. I can recommend for those who are willing to escape from crowded and loud city beaches.
Michał Q — Google review
Nice small island. There is plenty space to lie down. Sun beds cost 40 kuna for all day. As I understood there is one time per day at afternoon when a guy from bar come and collect money for sun beds.

If you're seeking a stunning sunset experience, Glavica Hill is an absolute gem. This beginner-friendly hike takes about 20 to 30 minutes and winds through lush pine forests that offer refreshing shade on warm Adriatic days. Once you reach the summit, you'll be rewarded with panoramic views of Stari Grad's charming terracotta rooftops and the surrounding islands of Hvar, all bathed in vibrant sunset hues. The trail is well-marked and easy to navigate, making it accessible for everyone.
Stunning views over Stari Grad. Definitely worth the gentle hike to the top. Be warned Google maps may attempt to direct you along a near impassable route. The path entrance is actually clearly signed off Kralja Tomislava and is easy to follow from this point

We took a path which probably wasn't the main path so it was quite rocky and steep but it was a mini adventure and the views were great. At the top it was quite over grown in places but we very much enjoyed the views and we had the whole place to ourselves. If you're good with the small hike up then we highly recommend it.

Easy to reach from city of Stari grad (Old town) and you will have amazing view on the city, beautiful Stari grad Bay and all around including islands around Hvar. There are several trails and I recommend one from road to Rudine which is clearly marked as well as main one from the Stari Grad proper. Surrounded by vineyards, the beach offers a serene and picturesque setting for relaxation and enjoyment. The soft entrance makes it suitable for families with small children as well as those seeking a lively atmosphere for social gatherings.
The beach is small and very beautifull. They have a small restaurant with very cheap beer. I highly recommend.

A very beautiful and wild beach! The space is small and on the stones so I would recommend you to bring a chair or pillow if you want to relax on the beach
Bárbara D — Google review
My favorite beach. The water is crystal clear, and while the shoreline is a bit rocky, it’s still comfortable enough for towels. The atmosphere more than makes up for it. It’s secluded enough to feel peaceful but still easy to reach by car, with a path leading straight to the beach. Parking is limited, but if you eat at the nearby restaurant, the owner will usually let you park there for free. And to be absolutely clear: dogs are not allowed here. Don’t bring them period.

🤩🏝 very nice little rocky beach with a lovely bar. Great to lay down & chill. We were very lucky to be basically alone… if there are too many people might not feel as nice …
C M — Google review
There is really nothing that difficult about this drive. It’s paved the whole way down and we did it on our 50cc scooter. We were worried with the step hill with all these negative comments but driving back up we zipped along with no problem. This beach, to the left, is absolutely lovely. Big and spacious with nice calm waters, picturesque with rocks you can jump off of. I wouldn’t bother going to the beach to the right, very tight space to put a blanket and much rougher water
Jackie N — Google review
Quiet, rocky, beach. Water is beautiful like elsewhere on the island and the swimming is good. The restaurant is right on the water and is good for a visit after baking in the sun. There's also a rock on the left side of the beach that you can swim too. It has a ladder so you can climb up and sit in the sun there or even jump off into the water.
N B — Google review
Very difficult to access by either car or foot. On the left side, a single restaurant ("Gogo", cash only but impressively, a ATM around the corner) and regrettably no shade or umbrella for rent. For more shade but more difficult access to sea turn right, below a tiny church). Extremely limited parking, and note a very steep decent.
Drago I — Google review
Very beautiful, quiet beach with some bars. Very big downside is the very steep road that leads to the beach. It's too narrow for any passer-by's as well. We fell of our scooter when going back uphill and are pretty badly hurt. When we told this to our Airbnb host, she told us a family member of her died on that road because it's so narrow and steep. There are plenty of beautiful, more easily accessible beaches on Hvar. Visit those instead.

Soline Beach is located about 6km (4mi) from Jelsa, in the northern part of Hvar. It is a picturesque pebble beach surrounded by a pine forest and offers amenities such as a sand volleyball court, restaurants, easy parking, and rental options for paddle boards or boats. The beach is known for being family-friendly and sheltered from the wind. Visitors can also enjoy walking or biking to Vrboska along a designated path.
Gorgeous beach, easy entrance, lots of shadow both on the beach and concrete part of the beach, free parking, perfect to come with baby in stroller. Cafe bar and Labranda resort nearby (offering pizza and hotdog) opened even in May.

Very crowded beach in June. Don't want to be there in july or august. If you walk straight from the parking in the forest direction, you can find some rocky place next to the water with less people.
Kristian H — Google review
Great Beach. It has a free shower. The water is clean, and if you walk five minutes in the left direction you can find other little beaches. There is also plenty of shade.
Tina H — Google review
Nice beach for families. You have a lot of parking places and a lot of natural shade under the trees. There is a nice restaurant and bar on the beach too. Just mind the sea urchins in deeper water.

Best beach on Hvar! Lot of natural shade and the water is amazing!

Beach Prapatna is a serene and secluded spot located in the northern part of Hvar island, near the charming town of Jelsa. Unlike other popular beaches on the island, Prapatna Beach sees fewer visitors, providing a tranquil setting for those seeking solitude.
We find this place just driving on the main upper road of the island and making a turns when the road has got an intersection or just was going down to the sea and when we appeared on the very end of the road on the beach we find out that we have find a hidden gem, just 2 people on the beach and couple on the yach, and a complete silence. Plaža Tvrdni Dolac is one of the stunning and secluded beaches located on the southern side of Hvar Island in Croatia. While it may not be as lively as other beaches, it offers a tranquil environment with clean warm sea for easy swimming. Nice location with lot of fishes in the sea. The prizes of the cafe around are sensible lower than elsewhere.

Beach Eva is a secluded pebble beach located in a remote area of Hvar Island, accessible only by foot through a steep path or by boat. The beach offers crystal-clear waters and small rocks for cliff jumping, making it an ideal spot for diving and snorkeling. Visitors can explore an underwater cave at a shallow depth and encounter various marine life, including small and larger fish near an underwater trench.
One of the best places for diving/snorkeling. There is a very nice underwater cave you can enter. It's a very wide cave just at 2-4 m of depth. A bit farther from the cave, there is an underwater ridge that falls very very deep, it's like a trench. A lot of nice small fish to see, but also i larger ones near the trench.
Matija K — Google review
Hard to find, hard to access, worth the effort once you get there!
Dana U — Google review
Eva Beach is without a doubt one of the most beautiful beaches on Hvar – crystal-clear water, peaceful surroundings, and untouched nature make it a perfect hidden gem. Unfortunately, one, and it’s putting it mildly, not-so-intelligent specimen of the human race has ploughed over the only access road to the beach – and now it simply doesn’t exist anymore. He did this illegally, despite the fact that the nearby transformer station requires that road for maintenance access. This individual usually shows up around 5–6 PM and will likely tell you to “just go up the stairs” – referring to an old, overgrown path that is completely unusable and not maintained. If you’re ready to ignore his nonsense and navigate the situation with a bit of patience, you’ll be rewarded with one of the most stunning and peaceful beach spots on the island. Totally worth it.
Boze — Google review
Too small and always crowded by people and boats. Electric plant with wires is too close to the beach with electric cables going in the sea very near. The path is steep and not safe, and really not worth it, especially because you walk down not knowing how crowded it is, and imposible to find a place since it is very small and private. There are better beaches near by (Zavala, Ivan Dolac.

Amazing experience! The tour was completely personalized by our will. Me and my wife were able to choose every stop point from the description of the captain Roko. He explained every stop that we could make and we were completely in charge of deciding where to stop due to the site explanation he made for us. We had a great lunch in Milna, which was reserved by Roko, we went to an undersea little cave that you could go in by sea or between the rocks and we saw a lot of incredible beaches with glass-like water with a lot of sea life and underwater stunning places. Roko also provided a diving mask in perfect condition to make us able to see all the undersea beauty. It was a vet memorable day and we would say that a 10/10 experience. We most certainly recommend the tour and give our best wishes to captain Roko, the responsible for our experience, an amazing captain and a very good man.

While the road to the beach can be challenging due to its rough terrain, visitors are rewarded with stunning scenery and relatively few tourists.
Difficult to get there on the long, steep gravel road, with limited space for passing cars going the opposite direction. Once you’re there it’s a wonderful bay for a sun and swim. There is a small restaurant where they serve grilled fish and cold beer, but space is limited so share your lunch or dinner intentions as soon as you arrive at the beach. It seemed most of the others there came by boat.

Watch out for sea urchins! There are quite a lot for them at the bottom of the water, however since the water is so clear you can see them well enough, so if you're careful and look before you put your feet down, it's safe enough. Other than that such a lovely quiet beach, beautiful and great for swimming. The beach consists of pebbles, like most beaches in Croatia. Not easy to get to, the 4 km road to the beach is almost entirely loose rocks. I came by bike but ended up walking most of the way. But worth it!

We approached this third-party ticket vendor with a question about TP Line ferry tickets we had purchased online. The staff member told us we couldn’t use the tickets for an earlier ferry unless we returned them through a refund process that involved emailing the company and waiting weeks for a partial reimbursement. We later confirmed directly with TP Line that the tickets were valid for an earlier ferry at no extra cost. It was clear she was trying to mislead us into buying new tickets. This experience was dishonest and not in the spirit of good hospitality.

There was only one group of 12 going the next morning and it was 3 families + me. Besides not having anyone to talk to, the tour is just not worth it. They take you to the most touristic areas with a 100-200 people there+ you have to pay extra for 2/4 stops.

A very small beach, artificial, bordered by a medium-wide concrete path, on both sides of which there are sunbeds for hotel guests. The sunbeds at the beach are as neglected as the "beach" itself - the concrete steps leading to the beach are slippery and unsafe, iron steps leading to the sea are very old and unstable, the sunbeds have no mattresses on and are placed very close to each other, so there is no privacy, Ground around the concrete path is not maintained, there are leaves and cut dow branches all over the place. The beach has a lot of potential only if they would invest in better organization and arrangement.

It is an ideal destination for those seeking crystal clear waters, tranquility and a more exclusive atmosphere compared to the busiest beaches in the region. Perfect for swimming. Unlike the beaches in Hvar, here you can find more privacy and nature. The island is famous for places like Carpe Diem Beach, where you can enjoy cocktails and music in spectacular surroundings. If you're looking for a beautiful beach with stunning waters and a more exclusive vibe, check it out. It can be quiet during the day, but if you go to a beach club, be prepared for a livelier atmosphere. (Original) Puedes llegar fácilmente en taxi acuático desde Hvar en unos 10-15 minutos.
