Salsa is exceptional! We had a group of 22 for a wedding dinner and the whole evening was fantastic. Meeting Paul confirmed our decision to have our wedding dinner there, coordinating with Rhys was relaxed and easy, Adrian looked after us all on the night and was brilliant! The food was not only outstanding but plentiful and our group loved the cocktails, attentiveness of refilling drinks and ensuring everyone happy with their meals. The dessert platters were a resounding hit and everyone is still talking about their experience at Salsa! Thankyou for making our special day extra special!!

Salsa comes through yet again! We have been dining at Salsa almost every year since 2011 and no other restaurant compares. Service - excellent. They are not only efficient and attentive but funny as well. Food - unbelievably good. Thank you again for a great meal!

Would have to be one of my favourite places I dined in Port Douglas. The food was exceptionally delicious. The king fish was absolutely beautiful. And the eye filled hands down, the best eye fillet I’ve ever had as far as flavour in the meal as a whole. 100% recommend Salsa for lunch or dinner and bookings is a must so your not left disappointed
Abby C — Google review
When researching places to eat in PD, this place was recommended. So glad we tried here. We dined here for lunch, and can see why this place is so highly rated. The restaurant was packed and managed to get a spot along the front with a nice view. The calamari was delicious and the glazed pork belly was amazing with so much flavour. Would highly recommend here and will definitely visit again if visiting.
Kate — Google review
Great restaurant. I went with my partner and didn’t book in advance, but we were lucky enough to secure a spot. The service was great and the food was very good too. We got a chance to taste some local fish.

Call in for a beer and entrees but stayed for a full meal. The calamari was highly recommended, it was good but the mains were great. Realy good service from the moment we walked in till we left. Thanks to the team as they really made a difference.

Italian restaurant
Sassi Cucina is a charming restaurant located on the inlet-side of Macrossan Street, offering a wide array of authentic Italian and seafood dishes. The owner, Tony Sassi, hails from the Adriatic coast of Italy and brings his expertise to the kitchen. Guests can opt for alfresco dining with views across Anzac Park or enjoy air-conditioned indoor seating during hotter months.
Absolutely delicious Italian cuisine. Loved the seafood linguine. My wife had the bolognese. Our waiter an absolute legend! Really looked after us.

Quaint place with a great mix of Italian seafood. The squid pasta and the scallops are TERRIFIC. Their virgin mango daiquiri is great as well.

Dinner here is excellent. Authentic Italian food, beautiful seafood entrees and delicious pasta - bolognese ragu would recommend! Wait staff are very friendly and happy, making you feel right at home
Keely J — Google review
Magnificent food. Very attentive waiter in DJ. Lovely experience.
Heath M — Google review
The prices on the menu are insane. $39 for a basic bolognese pasta. When it came out it was significantly smaller than the other pasta dishes. The pasta was cold on the outside and hot inside which wasn't very pleasant and it was a very salty dish. I've had better at home. The server was also quite pushy. When only two people on our table wanted starters, he tried to force us to buy bread to share when no one wanted to, mainly because of the costs. Everyone else on my table seemed to enjoy the seafood linguine. So they have that. If you're going to be a restaurant that charges big prices with small portions, you would want to make sure the taste is up to scratch. Oh, and if you want pizza, make sure you sit in the right area as it's not served throughout the entire restaurant.

The best prawn linguine by a country mile. The sauce actually tasted like seafood not just a red sauce. Generous serving of prawns cooked perfectly!!! Well worth going out of your way! Service was great and the atmosphere was perfect. Scallops were also cooked to perfection.

Dinner here was exquisite! Absolutely delicious, staff and service were wonderful, and atmosphere was great. Our daughter loves her spaghetti, and says the one here was the best!

Accommodating staff when you're looking for a little snack later at night. Fantastic food. Looking forward to having a full sit down meal which I've heard is superb. I love the toilet aquarium. Will be back. Thank you for your hospitality. 👌

Food was exceptional! The prawn linguine and lamb ragu papadelle were so delicious. The portion sizes are great - we left full and satisfied. This restaurant is a must try if you’re in Port Douglas
Amy M — Google review
Wow, what a wonderful meal!! The waitresses were just delightful and gave the full 5 star service. I had the rib eye fillet and it was absolutely amazing. I mentioned it was my birthday and they brought out a beautiful little dessert, on the house…unfortunately it wasn’t gluten free (I am coeliac) so they gave that one to my partner and made me a whole new one, candle and everything! Highly recommend!!
Anna — Google review
Great restaurant with a vibrant atmosphere, which offers great food and great service. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes that appeal to all tastes, among which were the spinach risotto, barramundi and the pork loin. The restaurant also offers a good dessert menu, from which I would recommend the Godfather 5. A big thanks to all the staff at Zinc for making my birthday dinner an enjoyable one!

Such an amazing dining experience at Zinc. Our server was so lovely, the atmosphere was gorgeous and the food was incredible. The eye fillet was the stand out for us. Highly recommend!

Nestled along the picturesque Dickson Inlet, 'On the Inlet' is a delightful seafood restaurant that offers an unforgettable dining experience. With its open-plan alfresco setting, guests can enjoy stunning waterfront views while indulging in a variety of fresh seafood dishes. The menu highlights local North Queensland produce, featuring live mud crabs and an impressive seafood platter brimming with prawns, oysters, and more.
Lunch was really good, the steak burger was very nice and it was a decent serving. The pork belly salad was delicious as well. Staff were polite and friendly. Glad you have indoor dining for the air con.
Chris V — Google review
Last night in Australia dinner and we definitely picked the right place. Excellent fresh fish dishes, generous portions, great service nice surroundings. We'd tried to eat here before but couldn't get in, this time we booked.
Richard L — Google review
Food is ok (nothing special) but service is miserable. All our orders (4 dishes for 2 persons) were brought at the same time, so that no room was left on the table and we had to eat some of the warm dishes already cold. Waitress "trying to figure out" where spoons are. Empty plates were left on our table, despite several waiters passed by and looked at them. Amateurs.
Juan O — Google review
Seriously good seafood. Staff friendly and attentive, making good recommendations (and good general conversation!) I had the chill calamari which was wonderfully soft and very, but the real star of the show was the mud crab. This does NOT come cheap but honestly, it's worth every cent. There is no dignified way to eat crab like this, but forget keeping up appearances and enjoy it - you can afford it!! A visceral experience, messy but intensely satisfying. A genuinely great dining experience. Would thoroughly recommend.
Astrid C — Google review
This place is pretty popular. We had the seafood platter for two and it was plenty for two. We had the crab with the Singapore chili sauce and the sauce is more tomatoey than chili spice. Service was great. If you want to just taste seafood, it's pretty good.
Kevin L — Google review
We were lucky to get a table on a busy Friday evening and ordered seafood platter for 2 which was super delicious!! Staff was very friendly and attentive throughout the evening. Highly recommended!
Alexandra M — Google review
Delicious food but the floor team lacked information that the chef should provided to answer our general questions. Ambience was quiet at lunch time, pricing costs were average.
S. M — Google review
We love this place, having first visited 4 years ago, and over time the standards are still high with great food, service and atmosphere. On a daily basis at 5pm there is a session where the staff try and lure George the giant Groper towards the restaurant. It's quite a show, but sometimes George doesn't cooperate so don't be surprised if he doesn't show up! Rather than carry on singing the praises of this place I will waste no time in suggesting that OTI is THE best restaurant in Port Douglas and suggesting that you pay it a visit, you won't be disappointed!

Tin Shed - Douglas Community & Sports Club Inc. is a long-standing social club located on Dicksons Inlet, offering scenic waterfront views and a range of tap beers and bar bites. Established in 1877, it is a favorite spot for locals to enjoy prawns and sundowners while watching reef goers return from their adventures. The club provides honest drink prices, live music, raffles, and community activities.
One of the best places to eat in Port Douglas, and one of only a handful that have a water view. Only tables of 6+ are accepted for a reservation. Dinner is done in 2 sittings. The menu offers a good choice, and don't forget to check out the daily specials. The food is always faultless, as is the service from the staff.
Graham R — Google review
Excellent food at reasonable prices, with a view that can’t be beat. I wouldn’t say it’s cheap, but the food felt worth the price. We booked a 5:30 table on a Tuesday and the place was very busy. Be prepared to line up to order for about 10-15 minutes when it’s busy. Go upstairs to the bar if you want a fancy cocktail. Despite a long line to order the food came out pretty quick. I got a bucket of prawns brought out almost immediately after ordering. The seafood was very fresh and was cooked well. The kids burger was an adult size, and the parmas were also a good size. We got a main calamari and chips for the table to share as well as we all wanted to try. The Thai salad with beef was a pleasant surprise - very tasty. Be aware that the menu contains member and regular pricing, and the burgers are only for lunch. Membership takes 5 days to process, so you can’t expect to sign up right away (not that we confirmed this TBH). The tables and chairs are fairly simple, with plastic chairs, but they’re fairly new and comfortable.
Andrew G — Google review
The food was excellent, though the wait time was considerably longer than expected. Upon arrival, we were advised of a 45-minute wait and given a buzzer so we could enjoy a drink upstairs while waiting. After an hour and a half, we checked back in and were seated within about 10 minutes. Once at the table, service was efficient – our meals arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. The food itself was outstanding. We ordered the daily special, chicken korma, along with the salt and pepper calamari. Both dishes were generous in portion and exceptional in flavour. Despite the extended wait, the quality of the meal made the experience worthwhile.
Tracy M — Google review
Eaten here plenty of times consistently good, what i would call pub grub, but some dishes, especially the specials better than that. Good prices and good service. Gets busy at the weekend especially, so get there early of be prepared for a wait for a table, you cant booked unless for 6 or more people. But grab a drink, pop upstairs and relax until the buzzer goes off to tell you that a table is free. Great sunset views across the estuary too. Get a membership, and save on every beverage and meal.
Andy C — Google review
Waterfront outdoor seating with easy parking despite going on a Sunday market day. Good aircon! Great meals that were well priced, cheaper if you are a member.
Irene K — Google review
Stunning view and pretty good food. We went on 5.30 on Friday night but clearly everyone was there for the sunset and I spent at least 20 minutes waiting to order food. The food was reasonable- I had a Caesar salad after making a random choice when I discovered that burgers aren’t available to order at night (which seems a bit weird), my husband had a steak which was done well and my kids had pasta and calamari and chips which were a good size. Service was good and the food came up pretty quickly for how many people were there.
Jane L — Google review
The food was delicious and we were impressed with the efficiency of meals coming out considering how busy it was. We had the garlic prawns and fisherman’s plate and would happily order them both again. Cheapest drinks we bought whilst in Port Douglas.
Amy M — Google review
Came here for dinner and it was a bit rough around the edges. Self serve drinks and counter order food. Would be great for a drink or two at sunset. Food was a okay but nothing special. Very relaxed atmosphere. Pokies etc on entrance kinda gross.

Nautilus Restaurant, established in 1954, is a renowned dining spot in Port Douglas. The restaurant offers an upmarket Modern Australian cuisine with both à la carte and tasting menus. Set in a tropical outdoor space under palm trees and the night sky, it provides a unique and unforgettable dining experience. Over the years, it has hosted notable personalities like David Bowie and Bill Clinton. The menu features dishes such as green ant cured kingfish, grilled Moreton Bay bugs, and duck three ways.
Dining at Nautilus was an unforgettable experience. The restaurant itself is absolutely stunning. Sitting outside among the trees as the sun set and the stars came out created the most magical atmosphere. The staff were incredibly attentive. Even though it was busy, they checked in with us regularly without ever feeling intrusive and made sure we were well looked after the entire evening. We had the classic five course degustation menu and every single dish was phenomenal. It was easily the best meal I’ve had in a long time. Everything was beautifully presented, full of flavour, and perfectly portioned. We left feeling full, happy, and completely satisfied. If we ever find ourselves in Port Douglas again, we will definitely be coming back. This place is a must-visit.

10/10 dining experience! Beautiful location, so unique. Food was exceptional and the wine pairings were amazing. Waiters were knowledgeable, talkative and professional. Myself and my boyfriend had a great time. Would highly recommend!
Leah B — Google review
My husband and I travelled to Port Douglas for our baby moon over the weekend. We had wanted to go to Nautilus a few years ago but ran out of time so made sure we didn’t miss out this trip. What an absolutely incredible dining experience we had! The ambiance of the restaurant is unmatched. The food was so fresh and the flavours were amazing couldn’t fault any of the dishes! The staff were all wonderful and a special shout out to Matilde she was outstanding! If you’re in Port Douglas and want an extra special dining experience this is definitely the place to visit!
Melanie S — Google review
Overrated. Food was nice but not worth the cost. We did matching wines, which were ok but nothing to rave about. The music REALLY killed the vibe - cheesy covers that did not at all suit the vibe or match the supposed elegance of the set menu and setting. A novelty dining experience amongst the rainforest - but note that when it was a rainy night like it was for us, you’re under cover (appreciated) anyway, and just in giant chairs on a deck. We had far better meals elsewhere in Port Douglas (Sassi, Seashells and others).
Jazmin P — Google review
The experience at Nautilus was an absolute 10/10. From the moment we arrived and enjoyed a drink in the lounge area to the very end of the dinner, everything was perfect. Being able to experience the sunset and the evening surrounded by palm trees was truly unforgettable. We chose the vegetarian menu, and it was incredible, every dish was a delight. The combination of flavors was excellent, and we left completely satisfied! The service was also flawless; at no point did we feel like we were missing anything. The staff were attentive and professional, anticipating every detail. Having worked in the hospitality industry for more than seven years, I can honestly say this experience was a 10/10. Without a doubt, the best restaurant in Port Douglas. Highly recommended!

Food, service and atmosphere amazing! We had one night out without kids and it wasn't wasted. Impeccable service, relaxing atmosphere and the food was spot on. Will definitely be back. Do yourself a favour, book a babysitter and have a date night here!

Unfortunately they don’t offer à la carte menu so it was a bit hard for my daughter n my husband who don’t like raw fish , they had wagyu for main . It’s a 5 course menu . The staff were very flexible to please us and the venue is amazing . You need to expect small portions as it is fine dining . Recommend booking
Nadia F — Google review
Stop wondering if you should book or not and just go. A wonderful experience that is unforgettable. We had the Seafood degustation and enjoyed every dish. It’s on top of a hill, so be prepared for a bit of a walk unless you get an Uber.

We always pop in here for a beer when we visit Pt Douglas. Next time we will stay for a meal, that's why I can't rate the meal, as we haven't eaten here. The prices are reasonable, under $20 for 2 drinks. If you like my reviews please follow us around Australia 🇦🇺.

Had a bucket of prawns and they were good. asked for tabasco and the server got it for me. lets face it, its a superb location. but the service was really quite good

Very busy right on midday, scored a high table out the front. We ordered the calamari with chips and the fish tacos which came out fairly quickly. The calamari was very tender and the chips cooked perfectly. The barramundi in the tacos was the standout! Absolutely delicious. This together with a glass of Shaw and Smith Sauv Blanc made lunch very enjoyable. Highly Recommend.
Audrey — Google review
It’s a beautiful location with views across the beach. Live (and loud!) music adds to the atmosphere. Grabbing a table can be tricky on busy nights. We both ordered the steak. I had the scotch fillet which was cooked well. The chips were cooked well but no seasoning. The salad was drowned in dressing but I thought both the chips and salad could have been a bit bigger. A good option.
Jane L — Google review
Loved the booze and juice drink, steak was sublime and perfectly cooked, chips were great too. Only qualm is that I asked to swap the chips with another side item on the menu but my request couldn't be fulfilled - was looking for a healthier alternative. If this is in fact possible please make it clear to staff for future orders.

A great hotel with a terrific atmosphere. The Court House Hotel is a relaxing place to have a drink, some food and watch the world go by. You can't beat having a drink in the outdoor dining area or deck on a beautiful sunny day. There are indoor dining options too. There is also an area upstairs that is often used for functions. Regular live music is played here on some nights. 'The Courty' is probably the best pub in Port Douglas for food, drink and overall atmosphere. They run an efficient kitchen and we have never had a bad meal here over the years - around three decades of visiting Port Douglas. On our most recent visits, we had a couple of great discussions with the wonderful manager Nikola! We also enjoyed our conversation with one of the very pleasant staff members, Erwan (there's a photo of him below). An always reliable hotel with excellent food and efficient friendly service. Keep up the great work team! :-)

Cocktail bar
La Cucina + Bar is a stylish cocktail bar and restaurant in Port Douglas, offering a taste of the Italian lifestyle with its outdoor seating. Under new ownership, this establishment serves up a delightful array of Italian dishes, from Naples-style pizza to seafood entrees featuring local ingredients. The menu boasts traditional favorites like spaghetti con le vongole and seafood linguine, complemented by an impressive selection of Italian wines.
We enjoyed a delicious dinner here. Food and service were great. We just wished we could have been offered the wine list again.
Angela M — Google review
I ordered a pizza from this Italian restaurant tonight. When I first opened the box, it smelled great — but things quickly went downhill. The pizza was soggy, which was already disappointing. But as I took my first bite, I felt a sharp crunch. I thought maybe it was an olive seed. Took a second bite and felt another sharp crunch — this time it cut my gum, and I realised there were pieces of broken glass in the pizza. I stopped eating immediately and approached the manager. I explained what happened, and instead of showing any concern, he coldly replied, "We don't put broken glass in our pizza." There was no apology, no empathy, and not even an offer to remake it. At that point, I was angry and just asked for a refund — which I got — but honestly, I’m still shaken. Key takeaway: Please double or even triple check your food before eating from this restaurant. What happened to me was serious and could have caused even more harm. I won’t be returning, and I hope this serves as a warning to others.

This place is a must for us when we come to port Douglas. We love coming here it’s our absolute favourite vibe. The food is absolutely amazing every time , the staff are so attentive and knowledgeable on the dishes and products. The cocktails are amazing. It’s just a sweet little romantic place to have a date night up here. We love it & we will always be back

We got a couple of margaritas, shared a burrata to start. For mains, we got the vegetarian spaghetti with capers and olives, and the beef ragout. Good ambiance and the place was busy. One of the wait staff ladies came out with our mains and looks pretty cranky and kind of threw them down and walked off. Prob just having a bad day. The Italian guy who was serving us most of the night was great. Food was tasty and margaritas were ok but a little weak/bland.

The bar and restaurant have seperate menus and you can’t mix them. You can’t order a pizza from the bar menu with a main from the restaurant menu despite being in the same building!? Really? Bar food looked good but unfortunately we were seated in the restaurant area so forced to only order restaurant food. Food was fine but portions were small and lacked flavour for the price. All the pasta dishes were just store bought pasta not even hand made and were tasteless and small, would expect much better for the price. The main fish dishes were good though but again very small. Also no beers on tap!? Food also very slow. 1 hour plus at least. Only saving grace was the service, staff were nice and apologetic about the menu. Seems they understand the system is flawed too… Unfortunately can’t recommend the restaurant at all, maybe the bar is better? Good luck

Magnificent food, great staff ( DJ is superb and I think her name was Francesca is a bubbly pocket rocket). It was that good we managed to go back a second time before leaving Port Douglas and the quality did not diminish. Keep up the great quality of food served, along with a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. We'll be back. Thank you for a lovely time👍

Very authentic Italian restaurant. We had lots of interaction with our waiter as he was attentive and ensured our wine and water glasses were never empty and there was just the right amount of time between serves. I had a serve of squid ink spaghetti with local prawns. Delicious 😋 👌! My partner had the yellow fin tuna steak, prepared just the way he likes it. Excellent! Cooked to perfection 👌 We followed with two desserts , the cannoli and the chocolate pudding. Both were mouth wateringly delicious. We can highly recommend to anyone in the area wanting an awesome Italian meal experience. The best meal we've had in Port Douglas.

Disgusting experience thanks to the server at this place who was so rude when we enquired as to whether we could order dessert and drinks - told us to go away because we weren't spending enough money to sit at the Restaurant seats. He felt the need to make a scene in front of other customers. Ironic there were several tables empty and no sign of potential customers any time soon. I'd give this place a big miss and trust the manager of this place can reflect on their Customer Service.

Tapas restaurant
Seabean Tapas Bar Restaurant, located on Wharf Street, offers a Euro trip experience with its modern and airy surroundings. Inspired by Spanish bodegas, it serves a variety of dishes including paella, tapas, meat-based options like sherry-infused chorizo and seafood like grilled octopus. The restaurant also provides a good range of vegetarian options.
We had an absolutely sensational meal. Everything was absolutely delicious. The service was great also. My wife and I both said it was one of the best meals we've ever had. Thank you so much Seabean, you are awesome. I really cannot recommend highly enough.

I have been living here for months and was the first time that I came to this place. Well located, close to the Main Street but far enough from the crowd. Food delicious, congratulations to Flavia that made us a nice paella and the dessert was amazing!! Omg you must try crème brûlée with the coconut, I wanted to order more hahaha
Camila M — Google review
We enjoyed dinner here as walk ins, they were really busy but the lovely man found us a table. We ordered the calamari, the seafood paella and two desserts which were all delicious and the service was excellent. The cocktails were lovely too. Highly recommend this restaurant.

This was by far the best meal we had in Port Douglas! And one of the best meals we have had anywhere in recent memory. The Tapas specials were ALL phenomenal. We also had fried polenta, olives, and calamari as entrees, and shared the seafood paella for our main. Every bite was a pure delight! For dessert we indulged in the creme Catalan and the almond cake with a delicious vanilla ice cream. Entire staff was warm and inviting. The owner works alongside his fantastic crew of servers and chefs from Spain. Do yourself favor and head over to Seabean for a memorable meal!!!

My sister and I really enjoyed our meal, we didn’t book and were lucky to jag seats at the bar. We were in prime position at the bar to enjoy great cocktails and our meal was so tasty- the seafood paella and all of the pintxos choices from the specials board were fabulous. The staff were professionals. Oh and definitely save room for the crème brûlée in the coconut shell.
Sharnie N — Google review
Seafood paella and the crème brûlée were phenomenal. The service was also great, albeit being busy on a Saturday night! The only let down for us were the tapas but it may just be the ones we chose.
Annie P — Google review
I really enjoyed my evening here. We ate entirely from the specials board. Some tapas to start: a spicy slice of Cape Grim steak, tuna tostados and beef cheek empanadas. They were all delicious and beautifully presented. For mains, we shared the Moreton bay bugs in a bath of orange curry sauce, potatas bravas and bread. The curry sauce was delicious, delicately flavoured and delightful when using bread to mop it up. The bugs themselves were a disappointment. Their consistency was soft and floury. Dessert was Crema catalana served in a coconut shell. It was nice.

Nestled within the lush grounds of the Sheraton Mirage Resort, Harrisons by Spencer Patrick is a culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. Under the expert guidance of Executive Chef and owner Spencer Patrick, this restaurant showcases a menu brimming with innovative Modern British dishes crafted from the finest local ingredients.
Such an awesome dining experience! Reina and her service team are amazing! Attentive and professional and full of knowledge of the menu and Port Douglas. Spencer and his brigade are the best in the biz. Food was so delicious, we shared starters and shared the lamb - sooooo good! Desserts were spot on. Will be coming back asap.

Harrison’s is a must-visit if you’re staying in the area, but make a reservation well in advance—even at 30% occupancy, they turn guests away without one. The experience is pricey, but rest assured, you won’t leave hungry. The menu has some highs and lows. The charcoal bread is more of a novelty than a standout dish, but hey, how often do you get to eat black bread? The octopus was incredibly fresh and flavorful, but the reef fish (snapper the night we went) was the real star of the evening—perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. The Raw Waugh Beef, on the other hand, was under-seasoned and underwhelming. For heartier options, the Rib of Beef is massive—easily enough to share—and comes with all the sides you could want. The Painted Crayfish is also a generous portion, so much so that no tools were needed to dig out the harder-to-reach meat. Service-wise, the ambiance is beautiful, but staffing levels don’t match the premium price point. Even with a half-empty dining room, there were noticeable delays in service. If you’re too full for dessert, do yourself a favor and order a tiramisu martini—the perfect way to end the night.

Best dinner experience I’ve ever had. Everything from the service to the food was unmatched. Our waiter Nicolas made our night perfect, with extensive knowledge of the menu and great conversation! Came from Victoria for a holiday, but will definitely be taking friends here if in the area again. The bread is something I wish I could eat everyday. Whole experience is definitely worth the money and time!

Wonderful experience! We had the set menu and it was delicious. Each course was unique and flavourful. Our waitress, Meloee, was attentive, friendly and described our dishes in good detail. The baked oysters and hash browns were our favourites. It is well worth it!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Fine Dining Adventure with Lamb, Barramundi & Gravy. We came. We saw. We conquered the lamb. Harrisons in Port Douglas gave us a night to remember — mostly because I’m still dreaming about that lamb. Tender? Yes. Juicy? Absolutely. Emotional? Oddly, yes. I think it made eye contact with me before I ate it. The mash was smoother than a jazz saxophonist on a Friday night, and the gravy? Oh, the gravy. It wasn’t just gravy — it was life essence. I briefly considered drinking it through a straw, but the people at the next table looked like they’d report me to the Food Etiquette Police. Then came the barramundi, which I’m pretty sure was caught earlier that day after voluntarily jumping into the chef’s arms, just to be part of the magic. Light, flaky, and seasoned like someone whispered compliments to it while cooking. Service was sharp, the atmosphere was fancy without being snooty, and I only dropped my fork once — which is a personal best for a place this classy. 10/10 would return. And next time, I’m bringing my own straw. For the gravy.
Noremac R — Google review
Delicious and beautifully presented dishes for all tastes. The crab was particularly delicious, as well as the vovo dessert.
Mary A — Google review
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Harrison's starting with a tour through several private art displays in the Sheraton Grand Mirage foyer. The food was excellent, service mostly very good with the exception of proving butter instead of the requested oil to a dairy free diner. Hash Brown. Nduja, guanciale, smoked Yarra Valley caviar was a bit of a miss. The crunch of the hash brown fingers was nice but spicy heat overwhelmed the flavour of the caviar. Beetroot, Atherton Tablelands, QLD. Smoked, white bean, buckwheat, radicchio, macadamia (vv) was great. Beetroot is difficult to balance and this worked very well. The presentation of this and frankly every dish was amazing. Leeks. Charcoal grilled, crisp potato, Tablelands mushrooms, spinach, walnuts, mustard (vv) was the dish of the night. It was delightfully on the lighter side, championing the often underappreciated slightly acidic flavour of the crunchy/chewy/charred leeks to wonderful advantage. Lastly the best duck I've tasted in years, perhaps since trying the 3 day prepared duck at Vasse Felix in the Margaret River in the early 2000s. Duck Breast. Apple, black pudding, cabbage, bread sauce, barley, clove was delightfully. The sweetness of the apple complementing and enhancing the perfectly cooked tender duck breast with the barley soaking up flavours and adding a lovely texture to the dish. The bread sauce was successful although there was a little too much other sweeter apple sauce and jus that tended to overpower the other elements over time. Go try this restaurant and move away from the beaten path of Steak and Barrimundi. Its the best we've found in Port Douglass and it hasnt been close.
Alan B — Google review
Our server, Inez, was fun, informative and energetic!! She recommended the scallop snack, which may have been the best dish we’ve eaten since arriving in Australia! Delicious. We also ordered the kangaroo dish and leeks dish, both divine! Sad I didn’t have room for dessert!!

Great food, service and a lovely vibe in Port Douglas. The food was really nice - we particularly liked the pork belly, the barramundi and the soft shell crab. The mushroom gnocchi was also fantastic and truly unexpected.

Absolutely AMAZING! Went today with my partner. We ordered the pork belly for starters (the best one I ever had) and eye fillet and tuna as mains. I couldn’t explain how mind blowing they were, even the chips were extra good. And then, when we ordered desert, it got even better. The food is 1000 out of 10, staff were lovely and friendly and the place makes you feel at home.. cute, beautiful and with a special vibe. It was amazing!!

Walked in solo for dinner on a Fri night. They were completely booked out, but managed to squeeze me in for a quick meal. I ordered the soft shell mud crab $29, pan roasted moreton bay bugs $48, glass of white wine $12.50. All of the food was high quality and delicious. Reasonable portions and prices. Full bar. Lots of people order cocktails and wine. Service was decent. Note that it's outdoor seating only so no AC, just fans, so it can get hot. Definitely worth trying. Best to make a reservation

The Service Food and atmosphere with our little dog while at LURE was wonderful. Their chef really can cook exceptional food. We went 2 days in a row. It is definitely up there with the best food in Por Douglas whole being located on the beautiful Port Douglas Mariana

Came here for brunch with the kids, while the Wednesday market was on. Was not busy and had a nice relaxed feel. Prices are a little high, but they’re right on the marina. Staff were attentive and friendly. Coffee was good and everyone except the youngest was happy with the food. The youngest complained about the kids pancakes having “weird” syrup, but I’m sure it was fine. The Reuben sandwich was great! It might seem small, but it’s very filling. Try it! We’ll probably come back for happy hour later 😉.

REVIEW BY SUZANNE JOHNSON Lure provided our group of 4 ladies with an amazing lunch experience. The food was excellent, the service friendly, professional and immediately obliging when we asked for amendments to the size of courses so that we could share. The location of our table - requested in our booking - was perfect. We spent almost 3 hours there and enjoyed every moment. Many thanks to the 2 wonderful staff members who made our outing memorable.

Had a really good lunch. Needed a place that would accommodate us with our little dog and these guys were the best. Had oysters and their fish of the day which was exceptional. But best of all were the ladies serving us - all so friendly and efficient- one of the few places in Australia I’ve been to when your table is cleared after you’re finished eating.

The restaurant has an open-air setting with a beach-vibe aqua color palette and is brightly lit. The menu features several items including Queensland blue mud crab, chilli, nannygai and oysters.
My partner and I dined at Wrasse and Roe on the second night of our holiday to Port Douglas. We arrived 15 mins early to our booking and were seated near a large very loud group. The waiter was lovely and could tell that we weren’t thrilled about being seated next to such a loud group so he moved us to the al fresco area which was much better. The service was fantastic all night and the food was delicious. We ordered scallops for entree and the black mussels and Moreton bay bugs for main. The black mussels weee exceptional. Fantastic food, awesome staff! Knowledgeable and attentive. We had barramundi 3 different ways, each was excellent! The Tuna starter was also really nice. A little pricey, but well worth it!!

Food was delicious. We both had scallops then fish, either fish if the day with vegetables and barramundi with Asian greens. Fish was cooked perfectly. We both ended with sorbet as it was a bakingly hot evening. We had an issue when the mains arrived before the entree. The staff were far more concerned than we were. However, we keep life in perspective and this minor issue does not upset us in the least. The young English lady running front of house acted professionally and quickly, acknowledging their error and presenting options to us. As a staff manager myself, I appreciate honesty, reaction and thinking quickly on your feet, so 10/10 to her. A lovely evening with great food but a bit hot where we were sitting in the front corner. Again, thanks to the staff for keeping us topped up with ice water and recognising we needed it. Plus good wine and cocktails to boot! A restaurant worth putting on your itinarary.

Great atmosphere here at Choo Choo’s and very friendly staff that come and engage to check on the needs and satisfaction of the patrons. Really enjoyed the chicken satay salad that’s light and nice. The fish and chips come in generous portion and the chips are one of the best I had since I arrive in Cairns, well done in crisps! The pull pork tacos is also one that you must order as the pork is tender and with the right balance of meat, vegetables, salsa and guacamole.

Nice place on the marina. Ordered banana bread - would have been nice if it came heated up, was a tad bland (in my opinion). Was definitely a good serving size for $13 👌 Scrambled eggs on toast - very nice, and cooked well Pakoras - ok, for something different, a bit greasy Cappuccino & iced latte were rated high by the coffee drinkers

This is a charming coffee shop, good to visit. The staff are very friendly, nice, but not really helpful or obliging for customers. Very basic approach to food service, can not alter off the menu. For example we had to order a side of sour dough bread, as we wanted a B.L.A.T, but no turkish bread. Good reason given that cook was on their own , and couldn't change. But lost us as we had to pay an extra $8 for the extra bread. Again good spot, great coffee, but not a place for food, when 3 doors up you can choose what you want and build your breakfast. And a subtle suggestion, remember small road blocks like food options just mean customers may not return... also notice the knife and fork dump today compared to yesterday, because we "complained "

Plus, they have a wide selection of frozen items so you can cook your own meals at home exactly the way you like it. Best Japanese food I’ve had in years, all tucked away in a cute part of Port Douglas, where I’ve grown up for 20 years. Chicken karaage was very nice and crispy with some skin on. Quite disappointed that you only get 5 pieces for $18, though the washable mayo is the best. We came for Father's Day and had a booking. I like that its casual and they didn't mind our dog nearby. There were a few items they didn't have from the menu which the waitress told us straight up. However we ordered the taro chips and dip to start and was told they didn't have that. There wasn't anything else like that to share on the menu. Would not be real hard to sub the taro for some corn chips. We ordered the bucket of prawns. Well its not a bucket for a start. A small bowl of prawns. We were still hungry so ate the leftovers from our son's schnitzel and daughter's pasta. The kids meals are good size but everything oddly comes with fries even the pasta or sushi. Her fries did taste suspiously of having been re fried. Being hungry still we went back and ordered churros for dessert and waited 45 minutes for them. Wife also disappointed no salad on the menu.

Epicurean Port Douglas is a charming haven for those who appreciate leisurely afternoons filled with delightful bites and fine wines. Nestled at the beach end of Macrossan Street, this local gem is run by Marlene and Rohan Erard, offering a unique blend of artisan terrines, pates, rillettes, and cured meats.
What an awesome destination for an amazing experience if you are looking for a gourmet, yet relaxed, lunch. They provide a range of Charcuterie and Cheese Boards and share plates, and the quality, presentation and attention to detail is impeccable. There is also an impressive Australian wine list from some of the best wineries across our country. The setting is very peaceful and we were looked after with great friendliness and care. This is a must visit for a special lunch when you visit Port Douglas.

A retired Kiwi couple on holiday for a week at Port Douglas. Our lovely daughter gave us a voucher for the Epicurean so off we went. We enjoyed excellent food although I confess that we lack experience of the subtleties involved. I suspect that this would not apply to some other diners who appeared to be regulars. Service was friendly, helpful regarding what we were being served and efficient. No long waits. All in all I can see why they have signage that 'drop-ins' may be unable to be seated. Thanks Guys, a memorable experience at several levels.

We had a really lovely lunch here. Must book in as it’s only a small place. We loved our duck share platter -the pâté’ was 😍 as were the smoky bay oysters with the salmon roe. The cocktails, the wine, the service- everything was perfect!
Sharnie N — Google review
This little gem is a must visit location. The husband and wife team make it such a lovely experience. Great wine and various tasting platters. I strongly recommend the duck pate.

Incredibly good destination for a gourmet, yet relaxed, lunch. Order from the range of boards and share plates, and prepare to be delighted at the quality and attention to detail of every element. Very good wine and cocktail list, also. And our hosts were absolutely delightful, took great care of us and we had a great chat after lunch. It would be a mistake to visit Port Douglas and to not book a lunch at Epicurean!

Recently enjoyed a fabulous lunch at Epicurean in Port Douglas. Great options, from specials to a variety of share platters. Seafood and wines were delicious, as was the service. Comfortable, intimate and the most amazing lunch. The 2 person team is a winner.

I wasn't sure about the place, BUT it was recommended and we went for a grazing lunch. We were blown away. Service was amazing, great recommendations for food and wine. A fantastic selection of wines by the glass, and we were blown away by the food. It was first class. Thanks to my kids for the gift voucher and thanks so much to the staff for an unforgettable grazing lunch.

What a beautiful place to spend the afternoon... Delicious small and bigger platters, top quality wine list and other options like gin. The hosts are super friendly and hospitable; it's encouraged to graze and take your time. The quality of everything is exceptional. The prawn skagan and chicken characuterie board were highlights.

If you find yourself near the Four Mile area, make sure to stop by Four Mile Seafood & Takeaway. This charming little spot offers a delightful array of seafood and takeaway options, including combo packs, cooked prawns, and fresh oysters. It's perfect for grabbing a bite before heading to nearby Four Mile Park for a picnic at one of their tables. While it may not be fine dining, the friendly staff and bustling atmosphere are indicative of its popularity among locals and visitors alike.
Lovely food, and the owner was quite nice as well! Happy she was opened, compared to the other fish and chip shop with no hours. She was very lovely and made our food very fast! Great presentation and lovely taste.

We both enjoyed our visit to the 4Mile Seafood & Takeaway. The staff were particularly helpful about what fish we needed to order and we were very happy when we returned to our accommodation and we were all very happy with the fish, chips and the dim Sims, Many Thanks for helping us enjoy our visit to Port Douglas.

Very busy spot. The service was incredibly slow for a take away, took at least 30 mins from order to receive. There just wasn't enough staff on. We ordered the pack for 2 people which had little flavour. My husband and I agreed the prawns smelled and tasted off and sure enough we both had upset stomachs the next morning. The homemade slaw was sickly, it tasted like the had just used Coles bought coleslaw sauce and coleslaw mix. Pretty disappointing for a beach side fish and chip store.

..sensational fish sandwich..this is actually the smaller one..chips were great too..

Very nice delicious fish and chips. Portion size was big Great environment and great customer service A must eat place

Approx half hour wait for fish and chips but well worth it. Got the family pack which was approx $75 for four people. They have very strange hours for a fish shop so best to double check they’re open before heading there.

Amazing fish and chips! Pleasantly surprised :) not sure why the ratings are bad considering it was one of the best I’ve had in a while x

We had the barramundi, mackerel and chips with tartare sauce. It was all very lovely and super hot. The chips were excellent, the batter on the fish crispy. They do a garden salad which is very tasty too. Thanks guys

Wharfside Kitchen is a seafood haven that truly elevates the dining experience with its commitment to fresh, local ingredients. The menu is a delightful journey for seafood enthusiasts, featuring tantalizing starters like tuna ceviche and grilled octopus, leading into hearty main courses such as crab and prawn fettuccine or the Caribbean-style fish of the day. Guests rave about their experiences here, often highlighting the exceptional service provided by friendly staff who go above and beyond to ensure a memorable meal.
Simply superb! Managed to book last minute on Friday night for a 17:00 reservation and loved every minute of it. Staff were polite, attentive and friendly - very good service. Started off with a cocktail and natural oysters with finger lime mignonette. The oysters were fresh, clean and of top quality. Couldn't decide on a large plate each, so decided to share the tuna ceviche, scallops and pork belly, and the crab mac n cheese croquettes. They sadly ran out of the grilled octopus but instead replaced with lightly battered calamari, delicious. All dishes were beautifully presented and well thought through. My only suggestion is that the watermelon and chips with the tuna ceviche undermine the true flavour of the tuna. Would recommend picking out the watermelon bits and eating them separately, then enjoying the tuna on its own before finishing with a corn chip. Personal preference, of course. Highly recommend for a romantic sunset fine dining experience.

We took advantage of the "Great Queensland Gettaway" to Cairns & Port Douglas having travelled from Brisbane we have eaten at quite a number of great restaurants in the past. We did the walk and checked out nearly every dining establishment in town, we had already tried a few places to dine out during our week there, we eventually decided to try Wharfside for our last night in Port Douglas. This Restaurant deserves a shout out. What a pleasure it was; we recommend dining here, the food and service was outstanding as was the establishment. Clean, Spacious, Modern, Quality and lovely easy listening background music while we dined. Highly recommend this restaurant, it's nice to be able to get away and have the best of both worlds in Port Douglas, fine dining at an affordable and very reasonable price. Can't wait to return. We had the Oysters "Natural" and King Prawns for starters. Crayfish and Lamb backstrap for mains. Salted Caramel Cheesecake and Creme Brulee with lemon sherbet ice-cream for dessert. We tried a couple of their house specialty drinks and finished our meals with a Baileys Coffee. What a fantastic way to end our last night in Port Douglas. We will definitely return here again one day. Great service and well done to the owners (apparently this restaurant is new to the area) credit to you both. Craig and Cassie (we don't know them personally and only found out their names at the end of the evening as we wanted to thank the chef and service attendant personally; turned out to be the owners. Love, Love, Loved this Place.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Soooo glad I chose to come here rather then anywhere else I was looking at! The food was amazing and staff were outstanding. Was on holidays with my partner coming from Sydney and we decided to come here for our 2 year anniversary, definitely chose well! From the food to the cocktails to the service! We were absolutely blown away! Everything and everyone was lovely! Wishing That this restaurant was in Sydney 😅 definitely will be attending when I travel here next! If I could rate higher then 5 stars I would! Thanks for an amazing time x

We were very fortunate to get a table here at a time when port Douglas was going through some tough times in the hospitality industry. All the staff were amazing but our waitress Lauren was great, she was everything you would want from your waitress, friendly, humour, attentive & hard working. This restaurant is a gem!! The good was fantastic & great value for money.

What a wonderful meal and AMAZING cocktails. We had the pork belly and scallops, the corstone, the parmesan fries, and the cauliflower bites for dinner. My favourite was the pork belly and scallops on corn, but everything was delicious. For drinks we had the rainforest caipirinha (OMG, our server accurately referred to this drink as "the party starter" 🤣), margarita, Peach Tea, and something else we can't remember. All the drinks were great but the one with Australian cane spirit was so unique, would definitely recommend.

Hotel
The Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort in Port Douglas offers a luxurious experience with its upscale amenities, including a restaurant and two bars, as well as nine lagoon-style pools and a golf course. The resort provides 24-hour reception, room service, conference facilities, and in-house restaurants. Guests can enjoy the white sands of Four Mile Beach just steps away from the resort or relax by the saltwater lagoons.
5-Star Paradise! We had a wonderful time staying at the Sheraton. The staff went above and beyond to look after us after some initial issues with our room — they offered multiple solutions and were polite, friendly, and professional throughout. It truly felt like a five-star experience. A big shout out to manager Alameda who was absolutely incredible! Our room was beautiful, spotless, and perfectly cool with great air-conditioning. The gardens were lush and luxurious, with so much space for everyone to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The pools were warm and inviting, and the food was absolutely incredible — easily the best buffet breakfast I’ve ever had! Every meal across the restaurants was top-tier, with a great variety of options. Everything about this resort is effortless — you can jump between three restaurant menus, enjoy poolside service under the umbrellas and cabanas, or order room service with ease. Every detail was taken care of, making our stay seamless and relaxing. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to come back!
Katia M — Google review
The hotel grounds are beautifully maintained, but unfortunately, the same care hasn’t been extended to the rooms. My original room was dirty, and after requesting a move, the next room had mould and leftover food under the bed. I had to call room service to come and clean it properly. The quality of the accommodation simply didn’t match the price, and it feels like most of the investment has gone into the landscaping rather than into housekeeping or staff training. I’ve documented the issues with photos and, unfortunately, wouldn’t stay again at this price point.

Pretty amazing. My kids felt that they’d won the lottery! This was our two nights of luxury after 3 weeks road and camping trip driving up from the Sunshine Coast so expectations were high. The pools were stunning and we didn’t find them too cold staying mid July. We had a lagoon access two x double bed and a travel cot which perfectly fitted our family of five. I thought the room was stylish and comfortable though the bathroom was dated. Would have been nice to see four bath robes with them knowing the occupants of the room. Breakfast was an additional $98 for the 5 of us with my Marriott membership- that was well worth it, I thought breakfast was very good with average coffee and unexpected wait times for seating (it was school holidays). I would have liked to see more things complimentary - the schedule for the school holidays was amazing for family but there was an additional charge for a fair few things like the pizza making. Beach was stunning and I would have liked more time there. All in all I loved this hotel and we will be back hopefully without paying for school holidays inflated prices

Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas - Villa 156 Review Our family recently stayed at Villa 156 in Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas for a holiday with our toddlers. While the location and overall setting hold promise, there are several areas that could benefit from improvement. Firstly, the standout highlight of our stay was the exceptional service provided by Rod. His dedication and genuine willingness to assist with anything we needed made a significant difference to our experience. Nothing was too much trouble for him, and it’s rare to encounter such outstanding service. Rod's attentiveness undoubtedly elevated our stay, leading us to rate 4 stars instead of 3-3.5 solely because of his efforts. In terms of the villa, light sleepers should be aware that Villa 156 has very thin doors, making it easy to hear noises from Rooms next door. Additionally, the absence of blockout blinds in the rooms affected sleep quality, particularly for those sensitive to light. Unfortunately, this meant our stay wasn’t as relaxing as we had hoped, and I found myself sleeping better once we returned home. The cleanliness of the villa was another concern. The carpets appeared quite dirty, to the extent that our white socks became blackened from walking on them. This definitely calls for more attention from the cleaning department. We understand the challenges with staff turnover and training, but consistent cleaning standards are essential for guest comfort. Another drawback was the pool situation. None of the pools are heated, which made it unsuitable for us, especially with young children, as the water was too cold to enjoy. Despite these issues, whenever we raised concerns, the staff were responsive and quick to assist, which we appreciated. The resort holds great potential and seems to be one of the prime spots in Port Douglas. With some focused improvements, especially in villa maintenance and amenities, it could offer an even more enjoyable experience. A huge thank you again to Rod for his remarkable service—it truly made a positive impact on our holiday.

Very nice resort! Would highly recommend 1. It has lots of greenery and easy access to the beach. There is nice walkways to explore the resort. It even has a golf course 2. The rooms are clean and my room had direct access to the pool 3. The breakfast spread was awesome. The resort is conveniently located and only 10 mins to the Port Douglas town centre

I know a few people have written that this didn’t live up to their standards but my partner and I had the nicest time here. We stayed 6 nights and found it so relaxing! The staff were super lovely and attentive! The buffet breakfast was just an added bonus as it was incredible! I felt so at peace here and the resort really has that tropical feel!
Amy K — Google review
The service is so poor in this hotel. The waiting times for food in the dinner restaurants is with 45-60 minutes not acceptable. Even to get seated we had to wait 10 minutes. Also the cleaning could be improved. Most of the pools are dirty. The battery of the safe was low so we couldn't use it immediately and we got towels only after asking cause they had an issue with their washing machines. However, we checked in very late that day. For such a class of hotel this is a shame!!
Michaela G — Google review
Lovely resort, grounds and service. Room appeared dated and one of the bed mattresses was very saggy! We were on G floor inside and there was constant noise from very young kids yelling and crying from different families spread across multiple rooms in the corridor and door noise. It honestly felt like staying in a caravan park and it wasn't even school holidays. There actually wasn't anywhere in the whole resort there wasn't this noise. Our stay was also a week long! I just wouldn't recommend it as a relaxing or peaceful place if you're just a couple or with friends. Or at least opt for a room and that it outside so at least you don't have a line of rooms opposite you to minimise noise.
