1Pullman Port Douglas Sea Temple Resort and Spa

Hotel
The Pullman Port Douglas Sea Temple Resort and Spa is a luxurious five-star resort offering modern accommodations and a trendy restaurant. The highlight of the resort is its 3000m2 lagoon-style pool, perfect for families with options like babysitting services available upon request. The 194-room resort includes various room types such as plunge pool apartments, swim-out villas, and penthouses with rooftop spas and barbeques.
We stayed for 2 nights with kids. Check in included a glass of sparkling wine or a mocktail. Accommodations were neat, clean, and well maintained. The pool was great, breakfast was very good. Breakfast started at 7AM, which made early adventures out a little challenging. We scheduled activities that allowed us to be conveniently picked up at the hotel too, which was nice. Parking looked challenging at first, but we got a convenient spot every time. We had a hot tub, but it was too hot outside to want to use, instead we cooled off in the pool.

Had a fantastic long weekend in Port Douglas with a great group of 13. The hotel is only a short trip on the shuttle into Port Douglas. If you are an uber fan don't think you will get the same city service up here. Really are better using the hotel shuttle buses. The Sea Temple is a great resort for all. Let's start with the positive: - We had a 2 bedroom penthouse overlooking the pool. It is very spacious and has an upstairs roof top bbq area with a spa. Brilliant for entertaining or large family bbq. - The reception staff were amazing. Always helpful, happy and smiling. Thank you team you were all awesome. - The bar / restaurant / morning coffee team were again fabulous. Nothing was a problem. Always happy to help and good for banter. - The pool is large and happy to accommodate floating toys and kids had a ball. - Overall a great experience. The ONLY thing that let the place down is the onsite food. The hotel is really geared up for self catering. Which the rooms are set up really well to accommodate for. If food is your jam go out of the hotel. Some great places to eat in Port Douglas itself. Overall though brilliant.

My Husband and I loved our time at The Pullman. We were celebrating an anniversary and was our first child free holiday in a long time. The resort is very nice, quiet and tidy and only a 5 minute drive to the main area of town. We received some bubbles in our room to celebrate our anniversary and also had our room upgraded to a penthouse with a spa and rooftop area with our own private area to relax. The pool area was really nice with us spending most of our time here and at the pool bar. It did take quite a while for the food to come from the pool bar and it was cold when it got to us and the cocktails are quite expensive when it’s not happy hour but they were delicious. The pool area was very kid friendly as well as the private rooftop area of our room. We will definitely be back with our kids!
Kasey S — Google review
We had a really enjoyable stay at Pullman Palm Cove. The pools are fantastic for kids and the gardens are absolutely beautiful — such a great setting. We were lucky to get a renovated apartment, which was modern and comfortable. A couple of small things: some of the staff could have been a bit friendlier, and if you’re going to the buffet breakfast, make sure you don’t arrive last — we missed out one morning, but when you get there early it’s excellent. Overall, a great spot for a family holiday and we’d happily come back.

The venue was stunning and the quality of service was wonderful. Sophia was attentive and accommodating of all our requests. She made my wedding reception dreams come true 🤩 The food was out of this world good and Daniela provided a memorable experience throughout the day with her flexibility and understanding. They were great when communicating things to us during the reception for example; keeping us updated with where we were at with the bar tab and ensuring decisions were made through us. Rosie took a lot of stress off of us when sorting guest accommodation throughout wedding planning and was very considerate of guest requests within the rooms. We recently went back in there for a dinner of which we received amazing service once again from the team and feel we have built a wonderful relationship with Sophia, Daniela and the restaurant manager (I forgot her name sorry!)
Jayde M — Google review
After getting engaged at the beautiful Pullman Port Douglas we knew we had to get married there. The venue is absolutely stunning. After seeing the venue, we decided to book the Boardwalk for our wedding and reception. After a long year and a half of remote planning and endless emails back and forth with Sophia we knew our day would be magical. Sophia took the time to send through suggestions and ideas. Our day arrived so quickly and the vision, creativity and attention to detail was brought to life. It was everything we imagined and so much more. The set up and design along the boardwalk was elegant, whimsical and so dreamy. Everything you could ever imagine. Our guests were blow away at how stunning everything was. They also raved about how beautiful the rooms and resort is. A special thank you to Sophia (wedding co-ordinator). You really brought our vision to life. We are so thankful for our magical day. A special shout out to the amazing Chef who made the most amazing 5 course meals.

This is such a delightful hotel with exceptional service. The cocktails were amazing advise for where to go and all staff extremely helpful. The beach is next to the hotel you can walk down there into town. About 1 hours walk. There is a shuttle service as well. The breakfast had everything and fantastic coffee. The food was delicious. Would highly recommend it!
Kerry H — Google review
This hotel is a three star at best. The room is a bit dated with some mould on the shower tiles. The pool is very awkward to get to from some of the accommodation, there are only 8 umbrellas with loungers under them. All the rest of the loungers are in sun all day. The pool is large and possibly the only positive about this property. The restaurant service is diabolical long waits between courses, we ordered dessert and after 20 mins asked for an update and were told the order never went in and the chefs had gone home. When we got the bill we were still charged for those non existent desserts! We ordered room service, only part of the order arrived. We had to call down again to get the rest of the order, when it arrived it was cold and our drinks were still missing. The hotel is quite a bit outside of the main bar and restaurant area, the hotel does not provide a shuttle service you need to use a local shuttle bus which is $15 return. When checking out we mentioned we had some issues and the receptionist did not enquire what the issues were and just laughed in response. I would not recommend staying here if you are expecting 5 star luxury and service, you will pay 5 star prices though This review was submitted to the hotel prior to posting this review on Google and they never responded.

Peppers Beach Club Port Douglas is a laid-back resort in Queensland, Australia, offering a range of amenities such as a restaurant/bar, outdoor pool, and gym. The resort provides luxurious tropical accommodation near Four Mile Beach with its signature lagoon pool and contemporary rooms. Guests can indulge in activities like lounging on deck chairs by the pool or dining at the renowned on-site restaurant.
We stayed at the Peppers Beach club when we got married in Port Douglas! It was really nice the spa room which over looks the pool was beautiful! The staff were really helpful, and the resort is close to the shops in Port Douglas. Thanks Peppers we had a great time!

A very nice hotel with friendly staff, close to the Main Street in Port Douglas. Overall, we were very happy with our stay. Being an Accor Gold member, we were given a room upgrade. We originally booked a spa room with direct pool access, which meant we had our own private pool deck with sun lounges. Since we were having a few days away from the kids, we wanted our own quiet space away from families with small children. This is why we booked a room with a private deck and sun lounges. Unfortunately, our “upgraded” room didn’t have direct pool and therefore we missed out on the quiet, more private experience that we were so looking forward to. That aspect was quite disappointing. In future, I think it would be a good idea for staff to ask the guest what their preference would be, rather than making assumptions. In this case, I feel our “upgrade” was more of a “downgrade”. I would have much preferred the experience I had booked rather than fresher furnishings.
Andrea C — Google review
Nice hotel, room was nice, however not very private, our room was positioned so anyone on sunchairs looks directly into room, unless you shut the blinds, but then room is dark. Also hard to have a peaceful lie down in day as kids in pool are loud. We sat on deck up end of pool for sun one day and these kids were jumping in doing bombs etc next to us, until I told them to go somewhere else. Good location. Restaurant is nice. Clean. In short if you have kids it’s probably great! If you are a couple, there are better places.
Scott — Google review
The location is great; easy walk to Macrossan Street. That’s about it though. I regret my choice that’s for sure. If you’re a couple, just don’t stay here. This is a family resort and really only caters to families. It’s definitely not five star. Four star at a pinch. It’s just not a “lie around the beautiful pool with your partner eating and drinking and having a wonderful time” sort of place. Fortunately the beach is only a few hundred meters up the road. We went there every day instead and it was really nice.
Phil C — Google review
Loved the room, better than expected - bigger and great amenities including a BBQ, washer drier and a spare room for luggage! My only slight criticism was the pool as the drop off to the deep end was very steep and not visible so easy for young children to quickly get out of their depth and I saw older guests struggling to get back up. The pool area itself was beautiful though!
Emily B — Google review
Fantastic hotel and location is perfect. Quick walk to all amenities and the beach is even closer. The resort pool is beautiful and the Sandy beach was a winner with guests with young children. Rooms were clean and nice decor, well maintained. The whole resort is clean and well maintained. We will definitely stay here again.
Robyn W — Google review
We are 1/2 way thru a 10 night stay in a Spa Suite. It was the size of a cruise ship cabin , albeit a slightly larger bathroom. There were constantly doors slamming loudly and children squealing in the pool all day despite it not being school holidays in any state. Bright now there are 16 small children in the pool. Even our closed balcony doors can't drown them out. It is not relaxing. The room has no washing or cooking facilities and in our opinion was grossly over priced given the size and lack of facilities. When the people below us used their spa the loud hum of the motor and the splashing may as well have been in our room. The cafe menu never changes day in day out and people can sunbake on the pool edge right next to your plate. Awful. There are large apartments for much higher prices but we didn't need multiple bedrooms so we thought a 'suite' would be fine. It is not a suite. Pull up your socks Peppers. This is a 3 star family hotel and should be priced as such.
M D — Google review
Great place to holiday, with kids or without. rooms have own decks that face the pool so you can just let the kids swim and watch from the deck, rooms have full kitchen and laundry so you can prepare meals and do laundry. Very clean and tidy with great and friendly staff. Very close to shops and beach (walking distance)

Hotel
The Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort in Port Douglas offers a luxurious experience with its upscale amenities, including a restaurant and two bars, as well as nine lagoon-style pools and a golf course. The resort provides 24-hour reception, room service, conference facilities, and in-house restaurants. Guests can enjoy the white sands of Four Mile Beach just steps away from the resort or relax by the saltwater lagoons.
5-Star Paradise! We had a wonderful time staying at the Sheraton. The staff went above and beyond to look after us after some initial issues with our room — they offered multiple solutions and were polite, friendly, and professional throughout. It truly felt like a five-star experience. A big shout out to manager Alameda who was absolutely incredible! Our room was beautiful, spotless, and perfectly cool with great air-conditioning. The gardens were lush and luxurious, with so much space for everyone to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The pools were warm and inviting, and the food was absolutely incredible — easily the best buffet breakfast I’ve ever had! Every meal across the restaurants was top-tier, with a great variety of options. Everything about this resort is effortless — you can jump between three restaurant menus, enjoy poolside service under the umbrellas and cabanas, or order room service with ease. Every detail was taken care of, making our stay seamless and relaxing. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to come back!
Katia M — Google review
The hotel grounds are beautifully maintained, but unfortunately, the same care hasn’t been extended to the rooms. My original room was dirty, and after requesting a move, the next room had mould and leftover food under the bed. I had to call room service to come and clean it properly. The quality of the accommodation simply didn’t match the price, and it feels like most of the investment has gone into the landscaping rather than into housekeeping or staff training. I’ve documented the issues with photos and, unfortunately, wouldn’t stay again at this price point.
Alex F — Google review
Pretty amazing. My kids felt that they’d won the lottery! This was our two nights of luxury after 3 weeks road and camping trip driving up from the Sunshine Coast so expectations were high. The pools were stunning and we didn’t find them too cold staying mid July. We had a lagoon access two x double bed and a travel cot which perfectly fitted our family of five. I thought the room was stylish and comfortable though the bathroom was dated. Would have been nice to see four bath robes with them knowing the occupants of the room. Breakfast was an additional $98 for the 5 of us with my Marriott membership- that was well worth it, I thought breakfast was very good with average coffee and unexpected wait times for seating (it was school holidays). I would have liked to see more things complimentary - the schedule for the school holidays was amazing for family but there was an additional charge for a fair few things like the pizza making. Beach was stunning and I would have liked more time there. All in all I loved this hotel and we will be back hopefully without paying for school holidays inflated prices

Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas - Villa 156 Review Our family recently stayed at Villa 156 in Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas for a holiday with our toddlers. While the location and overall setting hold promise, there are several areas that could benefit from improvement. Firstly, the standout highlight of our stay was the exceptional service provided by Rod. His dedication and genuine willingness to assist with anything we needed made a significant difference to our experience. Nothing was too much trouble for him, and it’s rare to encounter such outstanding service. Rod's attentiveness undoubtedly elevated our stay, leading us to rate 4 stars instead of 3-3.5 solely because of his efforts. In terms of the villa, light sleepers should be aware that Villa 156 has very thin doors, making it easy to hear noises from Rooms next door. Additionally, the absence of blockout blinds in the rooms affected sleep quality, particularly for those sensitive to light. Unfortunately, this meant our stay wasn’t as relaxing as we had hoped, and I found myself sleeping better once we returned home. The cleanliness of the villa was another concern. The carpets appeared quite dirty, to the extent that our white socks became blackened from walking on them. This definitely calls for more attention from the cleaning department. We understand the challenges with staff turnover and training, but consistent cleaning standards are essential for guest comfort. Another drawback was the pool situation. None of the pools are heated, which made it unsuitable for us, especially with young children, as the water was too cold to enjoy. Despite these issues, whenever we raised concerns, the staff were responsive and quick to assist, which we appreciated. The resort holds great potential and seems to be one of the prime spots in Port Douglas. With some focused improvements, especially in villa maintenance and amenities, it could offer an even more enjoyable experience. A huge thank you again to Rod for his remarkable service—it truly made a positive impact on our holiday.

Very nice resort! Would highly recommend 1. It has lots of greenery and easy access to the beach. There is nice walkways to explore the resort. It even has a golf course 2. The rooms are clean and my room had direct access to the pool 3. The breakfast spread was awesome. The resort is conveniently located and only 10 mins to the Port Douglas town centre
Joshua S — Google review
I know a few people have written that this didn’t live up to their standards but my partner and I had the nicest time here. We stayed 6 nights and found it so relaxing! The staff were super lovely and attentive! The buffet breakfast was just an added bonus as it was incredible! I felt so at peace here and the resort really has that tropical feel!
Amy K — Google review
The service is so poor in this hotel. The waiting times for food in the dinner restaurants is with 45-60 minutes not acceptable. Even to get seated we had to wait 10 minutes. Also the cleaning could be improved. Most of the pools are dirty. The battery of the safe was low so we couldn't use it immediately and we got towels only after asking cause they had an issue with their washing machines. However, we checked in very late that day. For such a class of hotel this is a shame!!
Michaela G — Google review
Lovely resort, grounds and service. Room appeared dated and one of the bed mattresses was very saggy! We were on G floor inside and there was constant noise from very young kids yelling and crying from different families spread across multiple rooms in the corridor and door noise. It honestly felt like staying in a caravan park and it wasn't even school holidays. There actually wasn't anywhere in the whole resort there wasn't this noise. Our stay was also a week long! I just wouldn't recommend it as a relaxing or peaceful place if you're just a couple or with friends. Or at least opt for a room and that it outside so at least you don't have a line of rooms opposite you to minimise noise.

Nestled just a stone's throw from the stunning Four Mile Beach, Oaks Port Douglas Resort is your perfect escape to the sun-soaked paradise of Port Douglas. This stylish resort features beautifully designed rooms and villas, complemented by a lagoon-style pool that invites relaxation. Guests can unwind at the swim-up bar with refreshing cocktails or lounge under chic umbrellas along the water’s edge. For those seeking rejuvenation, an onsite day spa offers delightful treatments like the Pina Colada body scrub.
The Oaks Resort is a fantastic place to stay. It is ideal for couples and families. The rooms are super clean and spacious. Beds are comfortable and shower is great (hot water and pressure). The pool is a great place to relax, read, tan, eat and swim. Swim up bar offers a great variety of drinks and food. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Bar and restaurant is also a winner. Rest rooms are super tidy and clean for guests. Reception is always there to assist with whatever you need. Shuttle bus into town is regular or there are scooters and bikes if you prefer. We absolutely love this place and never stay anywhere else when in PD. Thanks Oaks for yet another comfortable and accommodating stay. Can’t wait to see you all again.

We had a great stay at Oaks port Douglas. Rooms were clean and nice and spacious. We had the buffet breakfast included in our stay and we always found it great and catered to our needs. The pool area was great and so was the pool bar. The staff were always so helpful and friendly! A great place to stay for the price! I would definitely go back! No issues with the wifi either :)

Had a great 3 night stay at the resort. We had a well furnished 1 bedroom apartment and the swimming pool was top-notch. Only gripe is, we didn't have room service at all for 3 days (even though we hung up the sign for room service). Not a big issue for a 3-day stay though, the reception was open 24 hours for extra towels/amenities.

We had a fabulous 5 night stay at The Oaks. Rooms were great, clean and furnishings were modern. Beds were a little soft for my liking but none the less comfortable. The restaurants within the resort were great and had plenty to choose from. Location was convenient - only a 5 minute drive to the main street of Port Douglas. The included buffet breakfast each morning was a great addition. The pool is also fantastic. Great for kids as it is not too deep. Overall, a great vibe and would highly recommend for families.

After reading a lot of negative reviews and such a cheap deal with Jetstar holidays we really weren’t expecting much but we were extremely happy with our stay. The hotel and surroundings were incredibly clean. Room was very modern. The pool and pool bar were great and the restaurant was lovely especially outside. The food at all times was up to a great standard. My only feedback would be to have more of a bar area that’s separate to the eating area with maybe Happy Hour or cocktail of the day etc we will be back for a lovely resort stay.
Helen L — Google review
The first thing I want to mention is the breakfast. It wasn’t anything fancy, but I could truly feel the chef’s sincerity in every dish. That morning, the chef had a tattoo on his left arm and a hunched back, and he kept checking the food and cooking with real dedication. I’m genuinely grateful for the delicious breakfast. The reception staff were also very friendly and explained everything clearly—it was a really pleasant experience. The swimming pool was spotless and well-maintained, which added to the overall positive impression. One downside was the cleanliness of the room. The bed cover looked yellowed and old, with visible stains in several spots. The carpet was also quite dirty. Interestingly, the room I stayed in was connected to the neighboring room by a door. Although it was locked, I could hear everything from the next room. Also, the room didn’t seem to be soundproof, so I heard a lot of noise throughout my stay.

Our stay at The Oaks Hotel Port Douglas was absolutely incredible from start to finish! The resort was beautiful, clean, and relaxing — the perfect tropical escape. Everything from the check-in to the poolside vibes was seamless and stress-free. The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming, and every single staff member greeted us with a smile. It truly felt like home away from home, just with palm trees and sunshine! 🌴☀️ Everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and helpful — truly the best experience we’ve had. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. A special thank you to the amazing team, especially Charlotte, Adam, the lovely Maltese girl, and the Spanish girl — you all made our trip unforgettable! 💙 Kind regards Zoe, Leah& George

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Was nervous due to some bad reviews, however it seems that some rooms have been recently renovated and some have not. So check when you book. Comfortable and spacious bedroom, everything you need, no issues at all as we were in a renovated room. Not sure what the others are like. Nice curtains, large comfy bed, good air con, large screen TV in lounge. Pool was great as were all the staff. Regular shuttles into the township for $5 each way.

Nestled within 15 hectares of rainforest gardens, the exclusive villas provide a peaceful escape while still being within walking distance of Four Mile Beach and the vibrant high street. The resort is conveniently located near popular attractions such as Four Mile Beach and Mossman Gorge.
Wow!!!! We chose Niramaya to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We have never stayed in such a beautiful, tranquil setting. Our villa was stunning, and having our own plunge pool was fabulous. The staff were so helpful and so accommodating. The food was delicious and I loved the hamper ideas they offer for in room dining. We are already talking about when we can return and enjoy this paradise once again. Highly recommend.

A complete disappointment. Where shall we start? - no daily clean up service. Will apparently only offer clean on extended stays. - no one to offer check in after 7pm. Only to hunt your way though the paths in the dark to find the room. - ordering room service before closing time only to no accept the order as it was 15mins prior to close - insects and snake skins in the villa (if they made an effort to clean the villas daily would they prevent this) Lovely villas but the service is well shy of a premier resort. Not one for families with children or anyone expecting clean rooms

Absolutely fantastic ambience. It's like being in Bali for the day without all the grotesque statues, taxes and queues to cross the line past immigration. The restaurant is sensational. High quality Delicious food at a reasonable price. The staff are friendly and the service is first class.

Niramaya is an incredible spot to rest and recharge. It felt like being in your very own resort. Every view is stunning and very well maintained. The room itself is great although a bit disjointed being seperate from the lounge to the bedroom. The gazillion baby frogs (assuming cane toads) were everywhere and you needed to watch every step you took to avoid squashing them. They were also in the pool. Our entire villa was very clean. There were heaps of kitchen equipment although scattered around the kitchen making it a bit hard to find what you need at first. Restaurant was fantastic! Room service was prompt. Looking forward to returning again one day and thank you for such a nice relaxing stay. Almost forgot, the outside showers were covered in spider webs sadly and I could not use them.

We came with a group and had a wonderful stay. Nothing was too much for the gracious and enthusiastic staff, the food and drinks were all delicious, and the villa was pristine and so comfortable. Can’t wait to visit again!

How shall I start? My wife and I were here for 7 nights of workation (I was the poor one who had to work). After day two we realised that the pool should be heated, unfortunately it wasn’t until that day. After calling the reception, 10 mins later the friendly guy from maintenance was able to bring back the heater to life. What we were missing were sun beds. They are shown on the pictures but they weren’t in our villa (villa 42). Honestly, that’s a big disappointment for us. After taking a dip into the now heated pool, you want to lie somewhere at the pool and not want to sit on uncomfortable chairs. Additionally, the public sprinklers in the garden were so loud, that they wake you up at night… maybe they should change the timers. Those two things were the only downsides in our villa. Beside that we really loved our stay. But, especially the missing sun beds led to only 4 stars. Too bad. One thing not considered in the star ranking: We had breakfast on our last morning in the restaurant. We would never do it again. The bacon was more than crispy (pretty dry) and all in all the eggs on toast were disappointing.

Wonderful resort, horrific stay. Recently spent 3 days at Port Douglas during a once-in-a-lifetime trip around Australia. Stayed at villa 14, which consisted of a well-equipped living space / kitchen and two bedrooms spread out across 3 detached buildings. Great for a stay with older children or friends, not great with small kids — something to bear in mind. Spent a good chunk of our nights hunting cockroaches of all sizes — some happy to crawl under beds. Ended up buying our own insect killer sprays on the second day, which helped us have a quiet third night. After sharing our experience with the Reception, we were told to “let them know in advance next time, to have pest control called in”. Speechless. As if there’s going to be a second time. Be warned.

We visited the Spa for our 5th massage /facial. We come every year. This is the first time we’ve been bitterly disappointed. Massage was very underwhelming- both my sister and I couldn’t wait for it to end. First time ever. Facial was also very underwhelming. We felt both therapists had very little experience unlike every other year we’ve visited.

Nestled along the picturesque shores of Four Mile Beach, the Port Douglas Peninsula Boutique Hotel is a true gem for those seeking a luxurious escape. This adults-only haven boasts tropical-inspired suites, many featuring breathtaking sea views and spacious private balconies perfect for enjoying sunset cocktails. With its modern design and chic Scandinavian beach decor, guests can indulge in comfort while being just moments away from vibrant boutiques and delightful dining options on Macrossan Street.
Nice layout - including a balcony from which one hears the beach Comfy bed Well equipped kitchenette, incl pots and dishwasher Very nice pool area - lots of semisecluded spots with shade and two lounges. Staff were fab. Breakfast was included, time from 6:30am to 1130am, we rocked up at 1129 one day and they were totally charming. One small change: a recycling bin somewhere please. Plus the resort lights in empty rooms were left on all night - I mentioned this to the front office staff, it's clearly an oversight rather than a policy

The hotel is extremely well located across the road from the beach and near all shopping, restaurants and cafes. The rooms are a good size and ours had a balcony looking at the beach. There are excellent options for breakfast and the staff are pleasant and helpful. Room cleanliness and maintenance could be improved to ensure the best experience.

Location by the beach and the Main Street in town was excellent. Breakfast was good but service was inconsistent; Sometimes quick and sometimes slow. Pool was good. Suite was tired and needs updating. Slats in room dividers were falling out. Wall repairs not completed. TV outdated and didn't work very well to support streaming music. Overall a pleasant stay but for the cost we would have expected better presentation and cleanliness.

We had such a positive experience here and especially want to thank and praise the staff for providing outstanding service. The property sits just a few steps from the beach and our room had an ocean view. We loved the small suite with its own little backyard deck. Laundry was complimentary and our room even had a dehumidifier. Restaurants and shopping were an easy walk and the pay to ride shuttle service was great. We would go back to this hotel in a heartbeat!!

We stayed at this hotel last week with our family and had a wonderful experience. The hotel staff kindly arranged rooms next to each other for us, which was very convenient. Though the hotel is old and small, it’s located in a beautiful spot right in front of the beach.Breakfast was included and came in big portions with amazing food. We also enjoyed dinner at the hotel one night, was delicious. The staff were all very friendly, and we want to give special thanks to Shally at the reception.she was extremely helpful and professional. She spoke Italian also, which made us feel even more comfortable during our stay. We had a minor problem with hot water on our second morning, but I informed to her very early, and she took immediate action. It was already fixed by the time we returned from our tour. Overall, the staff and management were wonderful, and this hotel became our favorite place during our Australia tour. Highly recommended!

Excellent all round. Breakfasts are a specialty. I would, however, like to order breakfast from the full breakfast menu available to walk-in customers. I am paying for a room, so I'd like to order from the full breakfast menu, not the reduced menu now put out for guests staying at the hotel. I love the pancakes & Belgian waffles & now I have to.pay extra if I want them rather than being included in the room price.

What a location this is, right across from the beach. Staff were very nice and helpful with parking available yet limited and for cars versus SUVs. Even if it is an older building in some aspects we would most certainly stay again and enjoyed what it had to offer, especially the location.

Best location overlooking beach with best restaurants an easy walk. Facilities a bit tired e.g. beach chairs and umbrellas dodgy, pool bathrooms out of paper towels .......... Staff friendly and helpful but a bit amateur. Would choose again though.

Tucked away in the vibrant Melaleuca rainforest, the Ramada Resort by Wyndham Port Douglas is a delightful retreat that offers a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. This informal resort features an inviting outdoor pool, a well-equipped gym, and a soothing spa where you can indulge in rejuvenating massages inspired by Thai, Fijian, or Hawaiian traditions.
The resort is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are spacious and very well maintained. I love how they incorporate nature into the resort. The staff there are lovely and very welcoming and are very knowledgeable of activities that are around Port Douglas and Cairns. I will definitely recommend coming here for your next holiday

A very pleasant and cost-effective stay in Port Douglas. The location is great, set in a lush tropical environment and close to both the beach and town. Rooms are newly renovated, spacious, clean and comfortable, offering excellent value. Facilities are well maintained and the overall vibe is relaxed. Staff have been consistently polite, friendly and helpful. The only drawback was the polite but noticeable mention of Club Wyndham timeshare. It wasn’t overly pushy, but still felt unnecessary and slightly out of place. Overall, a solid choice and one I’d be happy to return to.

I didn't actually stay here but my friend has a studio type room which is good for solo or couples, has a bed, kitchenette and a sofa. The pool is lovely with lots of greenery to admire. A restaurant which is handy for guests and happy hour in the afternoons! Close to walk to the beach behind the resort. Can catch a shuttle bus to the main town if needed. A nice cafe nearby the local golf course call Crispins too.

Had such a gorgeous stay here and for a great price! The staff are amazing, a special shout out to Marie who went absolutely above and beyond for us when our tv chromecast wasn’t working. Kirsty was incredible too! Thanks again girls :)

Stayed as a guest if an ‘owner’- someone who has bought into the accommodation via their time share type of arrangement. The one bed suite was lovely. It was a little diy- no servicing of the room meant visiting the reception for milk sugar tea, etc, they don’t bring anything to the rooms or make the bed each day, which I would have thought would be an owner advantage. Good for self catering holidays. The pool bar staff weren’t the most attentive, one staff member flatly told us that we could not put our purchases on our room because she could not find us on their system. Instead of calling reception to clear it up she kept arguing and insisting that we pay on the spot. She left it to another staff member to call and clear things up. Very unhappy with her rude attitude. We attended the sales pitch at the end of our stay to see how their buy into the accommodation options works. The sales rep was ok until we said that we would not be buying in on the day- we like to think about big financial decisions. He then pretty much wrote us off and was quite dismissive of us. Had we been thinking about buying in on the day, his attitude would have made us change our mind about giving him the sale . Overall a nice stay in a lovely room.with nice surroundings not close to shops etc, like most PD holiday accommodation, but that was fine, we had a car, and there is a shuttle bus to town at a cost.

This place is not how it looks in the brochures! The restaurant is awful. Food was average. Wait staff have no understanding of dairy free. We attempted to eat 3 times in the restaurant and asked if the meal was dairy free as per the menu. First was the sticky date pudding then then platter both clearly had dairy by the reaction I had to eating them. Wait staff are very slow in service and have no idea about menus when asked. Facilities wise massage wasn't great my friend and I had a massage and we got two totally different experiences despite booking the same package. Bingo ngt was ordinary. Host was rude. Rooms were also a disappointment. We had originally asked for twin share to be greeted by a bed and sofa bed. Sofa bed was awful and ended up moving mattress to the floor. They offered a mattress topper to improve which we accepted then they put it on the main bed so it had two. Noise from the pool area is very loud late at night. No parking, many cars have covers ? Staff cars or perm residents? Bike hire was ridiculously expensive. Should have know from the minute we checked in that it wasn't going to be great. Staff were unwelcoming and unfriendly. Trying too hard to sell membership rather than welcoming and explaining what's available. Will not be back here.

Mantra PortSea Port Douglas is a laid-back hotel offering a variety of accommodation options, including hotel rooms, studios, and apartments. Nestled in lush tropical rainforests near the Great Barrier Reef, it's just 100m from the beach and a short walk to the village center. The property features three outdoor pools, a gym, tennis court, swim-up bar, BBQ areas and beautiful tropical gardens.
The stay was enjoyable. Really good rooms. Great location, short walk into town, close to the beach. Staff were very nice and helpful. The breakfast was good. The pool was very cold and the pool bar is expensive. Happy hour only included wine.

All the staff we encountered were friendly, cheerful, warm and helpful which is such a huge plus. The hotel itself is definitely what I would consider a budget / basic hotel (it’s the type of place where if you ask for a late check out they charge you by the hour). We were in Room 48B. It was bright and clean but so tiny that it was hard for two people to walk past each other (one had to turn to the side in order to pass). Also, unlike a lot of the rooms - our room didn’t have a balcony and that contributed to the feeling of being cramped. The fan rattles a bit and the bed and pillows were not great but the sheets were cool and breathable. It’s worth noting there is no daily housekeeping, no restaurant on site (however, they do offer paid coffee service in the morning and they sell wine and chips from a fridge) and a good 15 min walk into town with no complimentary shuttle service (there’s a local shuttle bus company you can book for $11 return per person into town). We had a car so it was fine but if you are looking for something walkable, there are plenty of other options. I think the room you get would make a huge difference to how much you enjoyed your stay. We would not choose to come back here again but if we did we would request a sunny room, quiet and away from the pool, with a balcony and that gets the most sunlight. Also note this is a walk up so if you’re travelling with luggage, keep that in mind. If you know what to expect, and you’re travelling with budget accommodation in mind, this could be a fine choice.

This is a budget price hotel for families set outside of the main town. We had a two bedroom suite which was pleasant in size but needed a little bit of self cleaning upon our arrival. Pool area was disappointing due to it being unclean over the seven day stay. We only saw the Pool being cleaned on our last day this was not good enough. The pool bar was great when open and the breakfast setup was fantastic . Walking into town from the hotel, I would suggest anybody hits the beach and walks in that way For some reason it seems to make it feel quicker . The alternative walking into town is going via the harbour Which takes about 15 minutes and not as pleasant. We loved Port Douglas and really enjoyed our stay.

Great pool, good location, good facilities. The room we had was basic but what I expected for the price point in PD. The bathroom was a little dated and shower pressure was terrible. Overall we were content and happy with our stay.
Elise C — Google review
I’ve stayed at this hotel before and had a great experience, which is why I chose to return. Unfortunately, this recent visit was quite disappointing, particularly in terms of cleanliness. When we arrived, the bathroom floor was very dirty, with visible dirt and hair, including in the shower. I reported this politely to reception, and they assured me that housekeeping would address it the following morning. However, no one came to clean the bathroom during our two-night stay, and we were left to use it in that condition. It was a frustrating experience, especially given the high standards I remembered from my previous visit. I hope this feedback helps improve the service for future guests.
Johanna B — Google review
The staff were friendly and helpful. The resort was clean and the pool bar very good. For the price, having room servicing/towel cleaning being a paid extra was a joke. I've stayed in hotels which cost less who provided full room service. We called reception the first night to ask for an extra blanket and they said they didn't have any because of the number of current guests. Not having spare linen and blankets for each room is embarrassing for the resort. My partner barely slept the entire trip because she was cold at night.
James C — Google review
For the amount you pay this is a rubbish hotel, the pool water is like swimming in a oil bath with really oily water that is cloudy and smells, the rooms are filthy, so much so my travel mate had to leave his room and ask for another because there was questionable still moist white stains on the blankets in his room. My room was also not cleaned well and smelt like mold. There is no restaurant, and the bar closes at 5:30pm... I could go on, but you get the picture now hopefully. Whenever I asked for anything, even a simple plate for instance I was dismissed and told it should be in your room, or house keeping would come and fix it, but no one ever came. Its basically a cheap road side motel, that is masquerading as an up market establishment.

Being an Accor gold member and our 20th anniversary it was lovely to be upgraded to a studio apartment with a bottle of bubbles in the fridge and a lovely card from the general manager. It was a great spot - walk straight out to the pool and really well fitted out and equipped. All reception staff very friendly and helpful. Miserable cocktail guy at the pool bar! Plentiful and easy parking. Even though breakfast buffet doesn’t have cooked food, there is an enormous selection of what there is. Would definitely go again.

Paradise Links Resort Port Douglas is a luxurious accommodation located in Craiglie, offering balcony rooms and access to amenities like tennis courts, 2 outdoor pools, and an airport shuttle. Situated next to the Palmer Sea Reef Golf Course, the resort features 67 self-catering apartments and villas within tropical gardens. Guests can enjoy swimming in the two outdoor pools, playing on the tennis courts day or night, and accessing the adjacent 18-hole golf course.
The resort was lovely with well maintained grounds and friendly staff. My adult son and I stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which was spacious with all the amenities we needed. We arrived late and were provided guidance to complete a self check-in which was flawless and super easy to follow with maps, parking etc ..The pool was clean and offered plenty of space to enjoy a refreshing swim - Easy access to the neighbouring golf club, where the staff were able to book us a tee off time and provide clubs at a small cost..The staff also booked us other tours and managed to get us on one of the tours last minute which was pleasing - I would definitely stay here again!

Everything is dated. Except for the electric jug which broke while we were there and was replaced. In particular the carpet and curtains were not very clean. Tea and coffee were provided but nothing else. Not even salt and pepper. The outside was lovely. The pool areas were attractive. And the people were friendly.

We only stayed one night but thoroughly enjoyed it. The room as really well organised so that everything fit in nicely and there was room in the small fridge to fit everything we needed to. The pool complex was lovely and matched the pictures we saw online.

We stayed here for a week for my daughter’s wedding, all in various apartments or villas. All rooms were spotless with super comfy beds. Spacious with all the things we needed. Kids spent hours in the sparkling pools, bbq areas were clean and the staff were very helpful. Plenty of amenities nearby and the shuttle bus was only ever 5 min away when we needed to get into town. Or you could jump on one of the free push bikes available or rent a scooter. Will definitely stay here again!

Great service and well maintained. Pool and common areas were nice, good for families. Rooms had good appliances. Some parts of rooms a little dated, but for the price was worth it. Good parking and good location if you have a hire car.
P G — Google review
The room we had 56 (1) it looked ok when we arrived, but on closer inspection it was grubby and tired. No light out the front of the door, difficult to get you key in in the dark Toilet seat loose and dangerous. Rusted bin in the bathroom - the only bin in the unit. Plug didn’t fit the sink. No. 1 on the ceiling fan didn’t work. Dirty bedside drawers when we arrived. Bedside drawers stuck and couldn’t be used. Filthy stained carpet. Horrible, chipped dirty wood under the fridge. We paid for a garden view that was pathetic, washed soil ! No grass or plants. Room service only given once a week. Light went off in the pool area at sun down even though the pool was open till 9 pm. Rusty dangerous microwave in the BBQ area. I would have loved to talk to someone to complain but there was never anyone at reception, said to call. Would love to put up my photos but don’t know how to, photos show exactly how awful the place was. Please let me know how to put them up. Need a refund !
Gaylene F — Google review
This place (I have refrained from calling it an hotel because it clearly wasnt) was art of a package deal and was obviously cheap. Staff were disinterested and only available during the day. As it is on the outskirts of town with no restaurant on site so had to use the shuttle bus system (payment required) to purchase breakfast supplies. Only a toaster and kettle were supplied and washing up was done in sink next to the toilet.

Mantra Aqueous Port Douglas offers airy rooms and apartments, some featuring hot tubs, in an upscale hotel with 4 lagoon-style pools. Located in the exclusive beachside town of Port Douglas, it provides a perfect base to explore Four Mile Beach, Mossman Gorge, and the Daintree Rainforest. The Great Barrier Reef is also easily accessible for diving and snorkeling adventures.
The Mantra Aqueous at Port Douglas is in a great location, close enough for a short walk to Four Mile Beach as well as the restaurants, bars and shops. It's far enough away from the busy end of Macrossan Street to be relatively quiet. With selections of single rooms, one and two bedroom apartments with self catering facilities, it is ideal for both couples and families. The rooms are reasonably spacious, comfortable but not fancy. Perfect for a relaxing getaway, it has 4 pools (no swim-up bar) with some pool toys supplied. As long as you're not expecting 5 star luxury (like at the Sheraton) you won't be disappointed!
John R — Google review
Fantastic location. Park your car undercover and walk to the beach, lookout, shops, restaurants, Coles and the main street. The corridor to the rooms feels a little like a cruise ship 😂. The balcony spa bath was fantastic and private because we were on the top floor. The swim up rooms looked like they would be great for families with your own ladder access to one of the 4 pools. The bathroom and shower were a great size and very nice. The bed was comfortable with a lot of different pillow options. Unfortunately, we felt like the maintenance was lacking. One of our AC units leaked water all over the TV, cabinet, power points and floor. We had to turn it off until the maintenance worker was able to come and look at it. He drained the overflow tray, but it happened again the next day. It was winter and we are from Cairns, so it didn't matter that we couldn't use it, but it would definitely matter to others, especially in the summer. There was also water on the kitchen floor twice during our stay and we never got the the bottom of that problem. The staff were very nice and tried to help, it was just unfortunate that the rooms were fully booked and we were unable to change rooms.

I loved the convenience of the property to the main street and the beach, with the other features of Port Douglas within an easy walking distance. The property is clean, cooled by both air-con and ceiling fans and comfortable for everyone who likes to have control of their comfort in a hotel/apartment style accommodation. The spa on the veranda and the pool at the doorstep are both wonderful features and a real draw-card. Be careful to wear crocs/thongs because the decking gets hot in the sun! Pool noodles and floaties are also available, which is a great aspect for guests. The BBQs are fantastic too - there's plenty of seating close-by and all the amenities are really clean. A wholly enjoyable experience and I'm already planning our next trip to Port Douglas with accommodation at the Mantra Aqueous Port Douglas. Many thanks to the team and management who made our stay easy, enjoyable and welcoming.

Fantastic apartment, we only had one night but felt immediately comfortable along, and the rooms were clean with great showers and complimentary teas. We didn't use the pool but used our spa pool, which made it a stay relaxing. Beds were comfy too. Front desk were friendly and welcoming throughout.

The location was excellent, however we were overall disappointed with the accommodation and stay. I expected a lot more as 1) it says it’s a hotel on booking.com and on Google which is vet misleading. THIS IS NOT A HOTEL, they are self contained apartments, and 2) this is not 4 star accommodation, more like 3. Very basic and quite run down! Room was poorly maintained both our bedside tables had cable ties and a bit of string on them so you could open the drawers.. in desperate need of doing up and definitely not 4 star!!! Very expensive for what this was sadly to say.. pool was dirty and not clean also very run down and in need of doing up. Inside of building is also really old and again not up to 4 star in my opinion, really expensive for what they offer. Will not be staying at a mantra ‘hotel’ again.

I came for a 4 day getaway by myself and loved everything about Mantra Aqueous! The location was perfect and the front desk staff was great. It was a little chilly so I never used the pools, but I was really happy to discover the washing machine and dryer! The room was so comfortable and the town so charming that I extended my stay for extra night.

We cannot thank Tamas and his colleague enough for the outstanding service we received. After a disastrous night at another accommodation, they welcomed us with such kindness and efficiency, checking us in early so we could finally relax on our honeymoon. To our delight, we arrived to find a bottle of wine, delicious chocolates, and a beautiful handwritten card waiting for us in the room — such a thoughtful touch that meant the world to us after what we’d been through. The genuine care, attention to detail, and above-and-beyond service turned our experience around completely. This was hospitality at its absolute finest, and we’re so grateful to Tamas and the team for making our honeymoon feel so special.

Had an excellent couple of nights at the Aqueous celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Guests can relax at the full-service spa, enjoy massages and body treatments, and take advantage of the 2 outdoor swimming pools and fitness center.
The location was fantastic as we enjoyed walking to the cafes, restaurants and beaches. Adults only was another attraction as we arranged to travel during school holiday peak period. We spent time in the pool each day as the temperature was perfect. The room was a good size, unfortunately we could hear people walking on the floor above late at night and early the morning. Having access to washing and drying facilities just outside of our room was a bonus. Overall we would stay at Shantara again due to the location.

I stayed here for 5 nights 12th to 17th October. I had a fabulous studio swim out apartment ( 8B) which was perfect in size for me. It had a shaded balcony with table & chairs which meant I could comfortably sit out there even when the sun hit my side. Then there is a private deck with lounger and steps straight into the pool. I swam every day and loved the perfect pool temperature and the fact I could just slip in and out. I had a beautiful bottle of sparkling waiting for me in the fridge plus a dinner voucher for Watergate restaurant which was really enjoyable food & great cocktails. Reception couldn’t have been friendlier and pre arrival emails with tips on where to eat or things to do was very helpful. I could walk everywhere, just an easy stroll to the main shopping/eating strip and easy to walk to wharf to do water trips. Also a mention that they supply you with plenty of large white towels for the bathroom and extra pool towels. I would definitely come back. I have already told my friends about it who prefer adults only resorts. It was really peaceful and I loved my stay. A particular thank you to Caitlyn who was my main contact at reception.

We returned to Shantara after 15 years and were not disappointed. We love having a one-bedroom apartment with pool access. The location is so convenient to the beach, the wharf and the shops, pubs and restaurants. We ordered the breakfast pack which was very generous in variety and size. It's definitely something we will do again, because we've already booked for next year! We are certainly not waiting 15 years for our next visit. Just love Shantara! Thanks to the wonderful staff.

Our stay at the Shantara Resort was excellent, an adults only resort only a short walk from the centre of Port Douglas. Our self contained apartment was well appointed and decor to a very high standard, unground parking provided has plenty space. The two pools open 24 hours are great, being an adults only resort there was no issues with noise. We have visited PD many times stopping in most of the high end resorts, the Shantra is right up there with most if not better.

This was the second time my wife and I have stayed with Shantara Resort. We returned because of being so impressed with our first visit and our second time did not disappoint. The one bedroom apartment with a pool deck is like an oasis. The apartment itself has everything you require with a comfortable bed, a shower, a spa bath, a lounge area, laundry facilities, cooking facilities, and inside and outside undercover dining areas. We ate breakfasts outside overlooking the pool and then walked across the pool deck into the comfortably heated pool. The staff are very approachable and helpful. Parking is provided undercover and the resort is with easy walking distance of the beach, shopping area and cafes and restaurants. A return visit will occur in due course.

By The Sea Port Douglas is a laid-back resort that provides apartments with balconies or patios and complimentary beach gear. It's conveniently situated in the heart of Port Douglas, just steps away from Four Mile Beach and Macrossan Street. The property features an outdoor pool, in-room fitness options, and amenities such as free Wi-Fi access and tour assistance.
This is not a luxurious hotel if it is what you are looking for, but they are a very amazing place. I travel 5-6 times a year and have never been to a place like this. They have everything you may eventually need, available for use and for FREE. Their approach is super familiar, empathic, friendly and helpful. My interaction with them was from the beginning when booking and organising my holiday, perfect. The location is very near the beach and local shops, coffee shops and restaurants. I would go again without thinking.

Great place! The location is unbeatable – right on the main road with all the shops at your doorstep, and just steps away from the beach. Couldn’t ask for better convenience. The rooms are comfortable and well-kept, perfect for a relaxing stay. The girls at the front desk are absolutely lovely 😘 – super friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything you need. Their warmth really makes the whole experience that much better. Highly recommend if you’re looking for the ideal spot in Port Douglas that combines location, comfort, and genuinely wonderful staff.

What a wonderful experience! Everything was spot on! I had a more delightful time here than any of the other 5 star accommodation I’d previously booked. Services were amazing. I loved the pool. We rode their bikes on the beach! Owners were friendly and accommodating. If I ever came back to Port Douglas I’d stay here again for sure!

We loved our stay at By The Sea - we stumbled upon it while looking for a hostel to book, and the Cute Cosy room was better value! We had a lovely evening using our bbq and playing board games, which are complementary during your stay. They had everything you could possibly need for a really comfortable stay, and the location was the perfect distance between the town centre and 4 mile beach. Our only wish was that it hadn’t been booked out so that we could have stayed for longer 😅

This place is spot on! The best location right on 4 mile beach and Macrossan Street. 5 star customer service from the staff! If you’re looking for a relaxed stay close to everything then I highly recommend By the Sea.
Trent B — Google review
The apartments were spotless and really well maintained. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, and the place had more amenities than any hotel I’ve stayed at. The location was perfect too—just as the name suggests, right by the sea and on the main road of PD. What impressed me most was the staff’s honesty. After I booked, they personally emailed me to let me know about possible construction noise (which they actually overstated—I barely noticed it) and that the room was on the ground floor (which I didn’t mind at all). They even sent me a virtual tour of the room without me asking. In an area where a lot of reviews complain about places not living up to expectations, this hotel is the complete opposite. I’d recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone.

What a great place! So close to the beach and Macrossan st. Lovely helpful staff and such a wide variety of helpful things to borrow for your day on the beach from chairs, inflatable beach toys, books. Coolers and so much more! Great for families with kids

Pool Port Douglas is a contemporary lodging offering elegant and modern apartments with spacious terraces. The central attraction is the 185-meter lagoon-style outdoor pool, providing a stunning backdrop for relaxation and rejuvenation. The resort's quiet location within walking distance of St Crispins makes it an ideal choice for families or larger groups. Guests can enjoy the expansive pool area, with options for swim-up pool rooms offering private access to the water.
Amazing stay here! We stayed at a room with swim out pool access from our balcony - so happy we paid extra for this! Rooms were super clean and the receptionists are always so friendly. The hotel is also in walking distance to St Crispin Cafe which is amazing food and coffee and just within walking distance - they even have a croc in the lake by the cafe! Would love to come back again and stay!

We have just returned from staying here in a 3 bedroom apartment with private plunge pool (heated). We chose this as we had our 4 month old grandson in our party who had never been in a pool before! He loved it and so did we! There is literally nothing we disliked about our stay. The apartment was beautifully equipped with everything we could need, lovely and spacious, clean and comfortable. The pool really is huge and not just some artful photography work! Lots of sun loungers, pool noodles and children’s floats were available as well which was lovely. The staff were so helpful and friendly with recommendations on everything we asked them - from restaurants to snorkelling. Honestly cannot recommend this resort highly enough, we will definitely be back!

Stayed in the two bedroom without pool access. Very clean. Great facilities and had everything we needed in the kitchen. Next time, I would prefer to pay extra for the pool access rooms. Although the pool is great and still had a very good time during the 7 nights we stayed. Very close to number of attractions and experiences too!

Fantastic place to stay and we'd give more stars if we could. Staff are amazing here. So helpful and friendly. We needed a relaxing short break and got Exactly that. We were appointed 1 of the amazing executive apartments with a swim out option, which we took full advantage of, as the pool was clean and a good temperature. The convenience of a shuttle bus to and from town was great. There is undercover parking on site. Room was incredibly spacious and super clean. Extremely grateful for the bottle of bubbly and note wishing me a happy birthday! I highly recommend the Pool resort Port Douglas. The place is magnificent.

We love this place. The rooms are large and very well appointed. Beautiful gardens and the pool is amazing. Easy to get around with the on demand local buses, bike or scooters. Highly recommend. Great for couples, friends or families. Internet is extremely fast so would also be fantastic for digital nomads or remote working.

Very nice place. Pool is incredible. Very nice staff. We had some small issues in our room with the aircon, and a few door locks didn't work. But other than that the room was very nice and spacious. Only a few minutes in the car to town.

I recently stayed at Pool Resort Port Douglas with my parents, who were visiting Australia for the first time. This was my third trip to Far North Queensland, and I can confidently say this resort made it the most memorable yet! From the moment we arrived, the reception staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. They made check-in smooth and were always ready with great recommendations for local restaurants, cafes, and must-do tours around Port Douglas, Cairns, and the surrounding region. Their local knowledge really helped us make the most of our trip. The rooms were spotless, modern, and very comfortable. The fully equipped kitchen had everything we needed for our extended stay — a big plus, as my parents preferred to cook several meals rather than eat out every day. It truly felt like a home away from home. And then… the pool! Absolutely stunning — crystal clear, perfectly maintained, and the star of the resort. As someone who’s a bit of a clean freak, I usually avoid shared pools, but not this one. It was so well-kept that I didn’t hesitate for a second, and my parents absolutely loved spending time by it. The overall vibe of the resort is calm, stylish, and relaxing — ideal for families, couples, or anyone looking to unwind. Pro tip: Make sure to book directly through the resort rather than through third-party sites. You'll get better rates, more flexibility, and direct communication with the amazing staff. If you're heading to Port Douglas, do yourself a favour and stay here. It was an incredible experience, and we’ll absolutely be back again!

Martinique on Macrossan is a vibrant accommodation option located on Macrossan Street in Port Douglas. The property features well-equipped apartments with kitchenettes and balconies, offering comfort and convenience for guests. With an outdoor pool, it provides a refreshing escape during the stinger season or any time of the year. Its prime location allows easy access to Four Mile Beach, local dining spots, and shopping venues along Macrossan Street.
A beautiful place to stay in Port Douglas- great location within a short walk from restaurants, shops and bars as well as the 4 mile Beach. The apartment was spotlessly clean, well equipped and the bed was super comfy. Colin gave us great tips about all the things to do in Port Douglas, we only wished we could have stayed longer and would definately stay there again.
Caroline B — Google review
The location is great, right on Macrossan Street and next to Four Mile Beach, an easy stroll to shops, sand and sea. The man in charge is Ken and he is welcoming, friendly and will help you for anything, just ask him. My apartment consisted of a big bed in a nice bedroom, an ensuite with a nice shower. There is a kitchenette for basic cooking, a dining table and chairs, a settee and TV. There is a nice but small balcony overlooking trees. All is generally nice but there are some failures. There is a small TV which doesn't have free to air and if it wasn't for other people who signed in with their accounts (very dangerous security breach) we would have nothing. I did attempt public stuff like YouTube but the Internet was Third World. The pretty and small heated swimming pool was freezing and precluded my and my wife from swimming. Not a deal breaker for us but in our whole stay I saw only one person in the pool. The rooms are serviced every four days approximately which is not bad considering our other resort in Palm Cove. However, it can prove a problem if it is not convenient for the guest who wants a shower/use the toilet/or whatever. The lovely Yorkshire lady who does the job is on a timeframe, which made things awkward. In our unit there was a strange smell which was not noticeable after a while of being in it and when I mentioned it I was told of the plug in air freshener - not the answer I expected or wanted. The above negatives do not change the fact Martinique is a great place to stay and I happily recommend it as a good place to stay for your holiday in Port Douglas.

Great little place. 50 yards from 4 mile beach and the lively town of Port Douglas. Used the washing machine good. Parking in the shade under the building. Very nice and helpful owners highly recommended. Adults only which makes it nice and quiet.

Great quiet spot. Rooms in good condition with nice wooden sliding doors/screens. Definitely needing ventilation fans installed in the bath, not just a window, as it got super humid post shower. Appreciated the rules on being quiet.

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding our recent visit to your hotel. We were looking to book a stay for our parents and were excited to explore the property with our well-behaved children. However, our experience was marred by the interaction with the manager. As we approached the reception and paused to admire the fish pond, the manager pointed us away without any greeting or acknowledgment. As a local who values and supports community businesses, I had hoped for a more welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, this experience has led me to reconsider recommending your hotel to others. I believe that a friendly approach can greatly enhance a guest's experience, and I hope this feedback is taken constructively.

Thankyou to Ken and Collin for your hospitality. The attention to detail, the Manicured gardens and the warmth which you give towards your guests is exemplary. The location is ideal, everything is close at hand for an early morning walk on the beach or a stroll into town. The appartments are clean and well maintained and feel very homely. Looking forward to coming back. Cheers Gary and Barbara

Four Mile Beach is a picturesque stretch of coastline in Port Douglas, known for its connection to the development of the Mirage resort by Christopher Skase in the 1980s. The beach offers a serene setting for families and friends, with easy access to modern amenities and attractions like the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks or bike rides along the expansive shoreline, finding private spots to relax or embarking on scenic hikes up Flagstaff Hill for stunning panoramic views.
Lovely beach to spend the afternoon. The beach it self is really long, as you can tell from the name, however there is only 1 netted swimming area with life guard. Parking is just across the road, which is slight inconvenient as the you do have to cross the burning asphalt to get to the beach. A few bars near by for a drink and a bite.
Lerong L — Google review
A beautiful beach! 😎 Not too busy, which made it really relaxing. There are also many little shops around in the charming town of Port Douglas! ❤️ A perfect spot for a laid-back day.
Neha P — Google review
An outstanding Aussie beach for a swim in warm waters and lengthy walk along the sandy shore. However, must pick the time of year to avoid stinger season. No problem during our August visit. Plenty of parking, while busy, should be able to find a spot.

Such a beautiful place to spend time enjoying the sun and sea. There is plenty of shade and you are avail to high a lounge chair and umbrella for the day.

I used to come up here every second week when I lived at Trinity Beach. Despite having a beach on my door step, this place was magical and worth the drive. I’d often walk along the beach with my eyes closed for several minutes at a time, navigating my the feel of the water on my feet. A great spot.

Four Mile Beach has it all! As a popular advertising jingle about a luxury resort down the road once claimed, this place is "too good to be true"! :-) Soak up the sun, enjoy a book or just watch people making the most of this tranquil and very special location. Part of the beach is patrolled so you are in safe hands if you swim between the flags. You could easily spend quite a few hours here. There is a nearby lookout to take in the spectacular scenery from a higher vantage point. Definitely worth a visit when you are in Port Douglas! Here are some photos from our most recent visit.
Leanne W — Google review
One of the nicest beaches of the region were you’re allowed to swim! Water is warm even during “winter” and even though it can get crowded between the flags you have life savers and shades! You can also find nice naturally shaded spots if you walk a bit further.. you have 4miles! 🤩
Luis D — Google review
Lovely warm summer waters with a view of the majestic mountains. We visited in January. There is a water/swim area that is roped off to keep out the “stingers” as they’re known here in Australia. Back home we call them jellyfish but they may be related in some way. Also, there are lifeguards which is great for children and all of us. Beach chairs/umbrellas to rent. A lovely place.

Silkari Lagoons Port Douglas is a laid-back, family-friendly hotel with BBQ areas and outdoor pools. It also has free parking and loans bikes for guests. Guests can relax in one of the many swimming pools or enjoy other recreational amenities like bicycles to rent.
We had an amazing stay at Silkari Lagoons at Port Douglas. Very Clean and tidy. Lifts to help with luggage and plenty of free parking. Pool was great as was the BBQ area. Staff were friendly and helpful. Short 5 minutes drive into town, or there was a shuttle service.

My husband and I have stayed at Silkari Lagoons twice now and absolutely love it. First time we stayed in a unit with pool right outside out door and this time we stayed in a bigger room with a plunge pool of our own and a spa, it was fabulous. Silkari may not be walking distance to the Main Street of Port Douglas, but why would you walk when you can get a small bus into town. There are a few services that pick you up from your door and drop you anywhere you wish to go around town AND then they pick you up anytime as soon as you all them. There is a fee attached but it’s way less than a taxi or losing your license if you plan on having a drink.( you can also buy a weekly card to go in and out of town which we will be doing next time) There is an IGA up the road if you need anything , short drive , otherwise whilst you in town you grab what you need from Cole’s. The Reception staff were absolutely lovely and unfortunately for us we had to cut our trip short due to an urgent unexpected appointment and Reception were amazing and explained who we needed to speak too. We had already contacted Booking.com but if you need anything fixed you need to go straight to head office as they fixed everything. We are booking for next year and hopefully a few family members will be coming too, and this time we will book directly through Silkari Lagoons. The only thing I would say is the rooms could probably do with a little makeover but you are on holiday in beautiful weather so hopefully you’re not sitting inside all day. The pool was amazing and clean and there was equipment there if you needed to get any leaves 🍂 or anything out . There were 4 lounge beds around to sun bake on and the area had shelter from the sun 🌞. The pools outside our unit were also amazingly clean and beautiful to swim in as well. Our room also offered the spa which we used most nights as well. The ground staff looking after the area were also friendly and spoke each morning to us. Thank You Silkari and thank you Susan from Customer Service, we appreciate you speaking to us. We will be back next year ( hopefully sooner OR for much longer next year) Jamie & Jodie

Very nice staff and very welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are reasonable for the price. Although needing un upgrade all around. The pools were heated slightly and were lovely. Although it’s a little out of the main Port Douglas centre there was an easily accessible shuttle service at a reasonable price if purchasing a multi day pass. All around it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience.

A Perfect Stay at Silkari Lagoons Port Douglas – Our 2nd Time, First as a Family! This was our second time staying at Silkari Lagoons Port Douglas, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The first time was a solo getaway, but this time, we stayed as a family, and the experience was just as incredible. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by friendly staff, and the entire property is just as beautiful as we remembered. The spacious rooms were perfect for our family, and the lagoon pools were a huge hit with the kids. It’s the perfect mix of relaxation and fun! The location is ideal for exploring Tropical North Queensland, and it’s just a short distance from the beach and local attractions. We had a truly memorable time, and I can’t recommend Silkari Lagoons enough. Whether you're visiting solo or with family, this place is the perfect escape. We’ll definitely be back again!

We love this place, just over 3km from main street of Port Douglas so a great walk. There is plenty of parking for hire cars and options for local shuttle and airport transfers. The swim out pool is a treasure, great place to relax and unwind. Rooms clean and have everything you need for short stays.

We stayed here for 4 nights and really enjoyed our stay here. They have a nice pool area and close by to four mile beach, its about a 6 minute drive to the main town area. The lower level rooms have swim out access, and the upper rooms have a jacuzzi bath on the balcony. The staff are super friendly and helpful, especially Noyan, he took the time to show us some cool spots to check out in the area. Will definitely be back

As a returning guest to Hibiscus Resort, I am never disappointed! The resort is relaxing, peaceful and in the perfect location. We stayed in Unit 7 and were impressed by the cleanliness and the decor. The unit was spacious, and welcoming! The unit is surrounded by beautiful tropical plants that make you feel like you are in another world. The pools were close to the unit and were clean and inviting. Perfect location to walk to the beach, the shops and the marina. Management were always there to answer questions and give advice where to dine and ideas of things to do. Thank you so much for making our holiday relaxing and enjoyable. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

I stayed in apt 7. Ground floor, 1 bedroom. I asked for a ground floor apartment as I cannot walk up stairs. There was no natural light in this apartment. The only area with any natural light was the front terrace which was an outdoor sitting area. I needed to have lights on all the time in the rest of the apartment. My bedroom had slats which when opened gave a view of tanks, which were noisy as well. This was disappointing. However furniture etc was fine Bed was comfortable And the complex is very well located to Macrossan St. i felt the pool was not very clean, it was cloudy the whole time. I arrived after hours and did not realize at the time how gloomy it was I would stay here again but not in unit 7

We had a lovely 11 night stay at Hibiscus Resort & Spa Port Douglas. Checking in process was easy as was out of office hours. We found all staff friendly & helpful. We had a ground level apartment room 6 which was good, had kitchenette which was handy when we didn’t feel like eating out. The resort is very convenient to walk to shops/beach & the mariner which we found a blessing. Do yourself a favour & also visit the Hibiscus Day Spa that is onsite. I had an amazing 60min relaxing massage as well as a 30 min Facial with Minaxie! Shear bliss thanks so much Minaxie your a legend!

The property is very lush and the location is perfect. 5-7 minutes to Four Mile Beach, Coles supermarket and to Macrossan Street (the Main Street). The front desk staff who assisted me were all very helpful and welcoming. 5 stars to Angelique, Tommy and Fiona! Thank you so much! I was a bit disappointed in my room because it was not as modern and fresh as it looked in the online photos. It needs a refresh.

Just stayed for 10 nights. We loved the facilities and both pools were beautiful. The room was very nice and clean although the mattress was old and hard could do with a new one. We had to put with a man vaping in the pool area all you could smell was a sweet chemical smell across the pool area. I reported to the lady at reception and she said would pass it on to management. Nothing happened he was doing it the whole week. It was disappointing as there were signs up say smoking around the pool is prohibited.
Jarrod M — Google review
We spent 4 nights here, the location and staff were great. But our unit was very small, for 2 adults and 3 kids, Kitchen( if you could call it that) was very small, wire and lights exposed above bench, small bathroom with toilet, and shower over bath had terrible pressure, not suitable for family of 5. The whole unit needed to brought into this century, particularly for the price. Pools, bbq and all other service were great. And again staff were great to deal with. And the location makes it an easy walk to most things in Port Douglas.
Jeff M — Google review
Brilliant location, great staff and responsive service. Pools were great for kids and awesome to have 2 choices. Only issue was cleanliness - while the kitchen, living area, shower and toilet were clean, under our bed there was a thick layer of dust and old shoes. The cleaners need to clean better as we were sneezing and had red eyes for 3 nights. Once we discovered the issue, management quickly managed a thorough clean which was great. We later found our bathroom sink was blocked because cleaners hadn’t untwisted the sink to clean out the gunk build up - I did it and it was pretty gross. Overall a lovely place but cleaners need to not cut corners.

We had an apartment over looking the pool which was great, the standard rooms are small. The reception is not 24 hours, the rooms don't get cleaned everyday, if you want extra tea or milk, make sure you request it during reception hours. The carpark is undercover. Everything is close by and an easy walk to shops.
KMT — Google review
Receptionists are super friendly and helpful, and the location of the hotel is perfect for those who want walking distance to a tonne of restaurants and the beach. There wasn’t house keeping for our room and the dishes weren’t THAT clean. We had to ask for detergent so we could wash them. The wifi is difficult to navigate and not real strong. The pools are clean and beautiful, the spa was cold, the after hours key was easy enough to access, there are multiple entrances from surrounding streets, shuttles were easy to access from reception, and we felt safe walking around the hotel at night.

We recently stayed for 10 nights in a ‘hotel’ room. The receptionists were friendly & helpful. The hotel was central & close to cafe’s & restaurants. Our room was comfortable with a spar bath & had decent aircon & fans. Only downside, no lift so we had to carry heavy suitcase up stairs & we only had room service once in that time. Excellent free car park & wifi. The pool was fine when not being used by noisy kids & as an eat in option there was a barbecue.
Catherine D — Google review
We have a swim out room with direct access to the pool, a private garden, spa, kitchen, lounge, laundry and barbecue (although won’t be using it as it is greasy & filthy from the last users) The room is dated but very clean, comfortable and well appointed. On arrival we were given a welcome letter which states that the hotel is a non-serviced resort and that if you stay 7 days or less your room will not be cleaned. We are here for 5 nights. This was not stated on the Accor booking site under the description of the ammenities. If we had know that we would have chosen a different hotel. I don’t really want to be doing housework on my holiday although I probably wouldn’t have minded so much if there was cleaning equipment in the room. There are no cleaning facilities eg mop and bucket, bathroom cleaning products etc. There is only a broom, 1 tea-towel, 1 dishcloth and a couple of sachets of dishwashing liquid. So if you spill something you would have to use the tea-towel of dish cloth to mop it up. Same if you had to clean something in the bathroom. Not ideal or hygienic. Towels are also not replaced however if you stay for 3 night are more you can request a new towel bundle. If your bin gets full it is your responsibility to take it to the rubbish bins in the basement carpark. This is not the usual high standard I have come to expect from Accor. Disappointing. Reception staff were very professional and accomodating and location is fabulous. Ps My booking form said that there is a coffee maker but only found sachets of instant coffee.

The location could not be better - and no noise! Loved the space, it was clean and the bed was comfortable. Only thing was I wished the pool was a little warmer.
Michelle P — Google review
The property location is great with easy access to Macrossan Street for cafes, shops etc and also an easy walk to marina and 4 mile beach. Access to the main reception is up steep steps and also up the rooms above reception which would be difficult for older people or those with mobility issues. Ramp access to reception area was not obvious. Our room was in need of a revamp or maintenance. Our view was out to Warner Street - commercial businesses (engineering workshop), petrol station and back entrance to Coles Supermarket. Rooms aren't soundproof to adjoining rooms or outside. (We didn't stay in the room during the day as it was too noisy) The staff were always friendly and helpful.

We arrived Friday the aircon wasn’t working but it was immediately rectified in terms of customer service and location it’s 5 star guys at reception will go above and beyond to help but housekeeping really lets this place down there’s dust all over the skirting board our blanket smelt that was in the top of the cupboard and the showers were gross finger marks all over mirrors and even the simple task of the tracks in the wardrobe were not clean

Mantra on the Inlet Port Douglas is an intimate colonial-style resort with 25 rooms, located atop the historic Court House Hotel and just 100 meters from the marina precinct. The accommodation includes compact hotel rooms and 1 & 2 bedroom spa suites with whirlpool spas and private balconies. Guests can enjoy air-conditioned comfort, access to facilities like a heated outdoor pool & spa, BBQ area, and easy access to nearby eateries.
Enjoyed our stay. Had concerns with the reviews that some rooms were close to the noisy venue in the centre of town. Looks like we had one of those room but with the doors closed it was not an issue. Great location in the centre of town and walk to the marina. Had an issue with the safe because I checked in after hours but it’s was sorted out by the out of hours team!

We picked the apartment for its location and it is certainly in a great spot - close to shops, restaurants, tourist locations and the supermarket. The apartment is clean and well presented. The fact that there was also free onsite parking was great. Check-in and check-out were easy. On the downside, there were a few things we hadn't considered: - the area includes about three pubs with live music that goes until around 11pm every night - which can be heard in the apartment. - our apartment backed on to the Courthouse Hotel and when we opened our balcony door, there was a loud noise from their air-conditioning unit - the bed had been broken at some point and the repair that had been done left a sag in one side of the bed - there is no door to the bathroom so if privacy is your thing, this may not be the room for you.

Nice place, very close to food and beach. Pool looks much larger in the photos, but that is okay. We had a suite with verandah which was nice and spacious. Door hinges were pretty rough and sometimes hard to open. Suites have no bathroom door. Rooms are not serviced unless you have been there a week. There is no reception, you just phone and open a safe. Never saw anything on the website that mentioned no lifts, so after parking down stairs it was 58 steps up to our room each time. Not ideal with a bad knee or travelling with an older person. Your expected to take all your rubbish down the same 58 steps to the basement carpark. Overall, okay, probably okay with kids, not great for people with mobility issues. Also very noisy, if you sit outside you get to listen to the extraction fans or air conditioners on the neighbouring business. You can barely hear yourself think. Next time I would look elswhere. For the price, I am sure you could do much better.

Excellent location, walking distance to everything. Rooms overlooking the street were great…..very clean and spacious and had some lovely decor. We stayed in a suite with two adjoining rooms (for 2 adults and 2 kids) and it was perfect as you have a central door you cand lock to keep both rooms connected. Can hear some downstairs pub music from the the balcony but not inside. The pool was great, much bigger than anticipated, the kids loved it. The biggest highlight for the kids was the spa bath (in the room facing the road). Would highly recommend

We stayed a weekend in Unit 100 at the back of the property overlooking the pool. This is a well appointed spacious one bedroom apartment and we enjoyed its position. It was very quiet in the unit, yes there is air conditioning noise on the deck and in the pool area but you are in the centre of town surrounded by businesses, the upside of this is there are so many lovely restaurants on your doorstep. There is free parking under the building, the stairs went straight up close to our unit which was handy as there are no lifts so carrying luggage was minimal to the ground floor. There is a luggage lift from the carpark to the reception area, but most units are upstairs on level 2 & 3.

Lovely place to stay, however, more signage to help with locating the rooms, lift, reception, carpark and pool would have been helpful and that there is NO lift for guests. This could have been a big problem if my 70 year old mum wasn't fit. Even I struggled a bit and we were only on the 1st floor. I noticed many guests with kids and prams, elderly people struggle up and down the very narrow, steep stairs. There was nothing to warn us of this at the time of booking.

We enjoyed our stay at Mantra on the Inlet at Port Douglas. The location was perfect and at night we heard nothing of the noise from the venues below. We were able to park our car, walk to the wedding and reception. We enjoyed the pool. The beds were a little soft for our liking, but other than that everything was clean & well maintained.

Stayed for 10 nights loved location room was great but disappointed you advertise heated pool and spa it was not heated and spa was a seat in pool which didn’t work and hasn’t for years apparently We were on third floor so steps were an issue 48 in total and when checking out early baggage lift didn’t work so my husband who has a bad ankle had to carry 2 bags one at a time down 48 steps And not staffed before 8 so couldn’t even ask for help

Wildlife Habitat is an interactive zoo where visitors can have guided encounters with a variety of Australian wildlife, including koalas, kangaroos, birds, and reptiles. The friendly staff offers regular talks and presentations throughout the day, featuring highlights such as reptile presentations and crocodile feeding. Visitors are encouraged to interact with the animals through activities like feeding and patting.
A well laid out tropical zoo. Lots of opportunities to get up close to the wildlife. Lots of different animals to check on, and you can buy packets of food to get the inmates excited. The staff have excellent knowledge and are happy to answer questions or to tell a tale or two. A great kiosk and gift shop. Plenty of parking. It wasn't very busy on our Sunday visit.

Overall a very positive experience. We did the breakfast with the birds and it was very good, the food was decent enough quality and there was plenty of it. The facility itself is good, but could use a bit of a facelift, some parts looked a bit old. The birds are very beautiful and the aviaries are very nicely laid out. The highlight was hand feeding the kangaroos. You can freely feed and pet the kangaroos. This experience moved this review from a 3 to a 4. Definitely a highlight. Buy kangaroo food on the way in!! The negative, The keepers giving the talks about the animals were not Australian. This detracted from the experience. I would rather have Australian people teaching about Australian animals. Compare this to Hartleys where the staff are very Australian and it added to the experience.

Great insights into local wildlife...including the amazing Cassowary! Cute Koalas, wide variety of birds. Unfortunately no crocodiles on view, but we may have missed our chance. Well set out and maintained. Helpful front desk and canteen staff. A worthwhile visit.

We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast with the birds experience! This is such a wonderful and unique experience. Getting to meet Elvis and Nico was an absolute highlight of the morning. We also got to meet the koalas and had an opportunity to take photos and learn about the animals in a relaxed environment. The breakfast was substantial with free flowing juice, tea, and coffee as well as a beautifully presented breakfast platter complete with crepes, eggs, bacon, toast, and more! We also enjoyed wandering around the rest of the park and thought there was excellent value in the talks and presentations throughout the morning.

What a lovely afternoon. We decided to visit this afternoon. It is a small sanctuary, relaxed and the staff are lovely. We were lucky enough see the pelican talk which was perfect, fed kangaroos, saw lots and lots of different birds and got up and close with the cutest baby koala. A beautiful afternoon with my son ❤️

Lovely sanctuary that helps animals rehabilitate in their own natural habitat. No cages, animals are free to fly and roam. Kid friendly with cafe and feed the kangaroos. Animals have people free spaces if they don't feel like interacting which is great. I don't support zoo's but definitely highly recommend this place that help wildlife in need. You really get up close and personal with the animals.
Melissa-rose M — Google review
Wildlife habitat is absolutely worth a visit. Plan to spend at least half a day. The talks are amazing and staff are knowledgeable. Good selection of food for lunch. There is a great opportunity to get really up close to the birds. Some of the birds are very cheeky and will want to get a pat. You can feed a kangaroo.
Sal A — Google review
A great family friendly wild life park to visit, alot smaller than Australia zoo but had great features like eating breakfast with the birds, the birds are so friendly. We did the swim with the salties, even though you are on the other side of the glass being that close to 500kg / 4.5 mtr long crocodile at feeding time was unreal. The power of those jaws. Recommended if in Port Douglas.

The Port Douglas Sugar Wharf is a must-see landmark with a rich history dating back to the late 1800s. Originally built for transporting various goods, it became associated with the sugar industry during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Overlooking Dickson Inlet at the end of the main street, it offers picturesque views and is a popular spot for photography.
Great views & Cocktails 🍸 👌 great food.

Beautiful spot for contemplation of the waterfront of Port‘s Dickson Inlet overlooking the Coral Sea and Daintree Rainforest. The Sugar Wharf is historic old building was home to Ben Cropp and his “Shipwreck Museum” for many years but is now open to the public as a wonderful waterfront venue. It’s tucked away behind the St Mary’s by the Sea, a popular wedding chapel in Port Douglas with it’s own little beach and cove making it the perfect spot for your casual photos and to watch the sunset.

Reef Resort Villas in Port Douglas offers sleek and modern 1, 2, or 3-bedroom villas with fully equipped kitchens. The resort is set in tropical gardens just a short distance from the town center and Four Mile Beach. Guests can enjoy an outdoor pool with a waterfall and cave, as well as a poolside bar and restaurant. The villas are well-maintained and come with amenities such as Netflix on the TV, spacious bathrooms, comfortable beds, and laundry facilities.
Reef Resort Villas is such a hidden gem! It’s a bit underrated but offers so much, especially if you love lush green views. Our villa backed onto a golf course, and the view from the balcony was stunning. Some villas overlook the tropical pool instead, which is equally beautiful. There are also private villas available on booking.com, which don’t include resort hospitality services but are a great budget-friendly option. Even without reception services, you still get access to all the amenities- pool, spa, gym, and more. The pool is a standout feature: a gorgeous saltwater tropical setup with a bar right next to it. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and I’d definitely recommend it!
Samay C — Google review
The accommodation itself is great but what really lets it down is the pool and reception times. The reception has extremely limited hours and the pool is like soaking in a warm bath - not what you want after a day of exploring the area in the tropical heat and humidity. Not sure if they have the heater on year round or if they just need some shade sails, but a cold shower would’ve been a more enjoyable way to cool off at the end of the day. Such a shame as it’s a lovely big resort-style pool but we just couldn’t enjoy it as we’d hoped to.
Love T — Google review
We recently stayed at the resort and were disappointed that the offering didn’t match the website. The pool was not heated and was very cold, restaurant/cafe closed at 4pm and only had very basic menu offerings, no clean was undertaken mid stay despite being noted on the website and there were minimal guest facilities eg bbq, games room etc you may expect of a resort. The villa itself was fine though dated and the kitchen was lacking eg no oven. Port Douglas is a beautiful place to visit and though we have stayed here multiples times over the years the resort seems to have minimised its offerings to guests and we will book elsewhere for our next stay.
Laura C — Google review
We booked well in advance to stay at Reef resort Villas. The night before our flight was to leave, they cancelled our booking. We had to quickly find new accomodation.
Kay A — Google review
Rooms were clean and functional but needed a little TLC. Back door to villa was a privacy lock and could be opened with a coin so we didn't feel very secure. Pool was OK but water was quite cloudy and needed to have loose leaves and foliage removed from the bottom. Staff were friendly and helpful. A fair distance from the main street of Port.

Villa 17 defiantly has a beachy fresh feel and is well maintained. Big new TV with lots of apps available, unlimited internet provided, balcony. 3 bed, one with queen, second with two king singles, third with king single, 2 bath aircon and fans. Certainly value for money, villa was very clean, and worth the visit. Staff friendly, cocktails nice, pool lovely. Resort not far from the beach.
Rachelle — Google review
Lovely resort. Our villa was lovely, clean and well equipped. The TV also has Netflix. The fridge was slightly small for the size of the villa. The showers/bathrooms were lovely and a good size. Good washing machine and dryer. Beds are comfortable. The pool is gorgeous, kids loved the waterfall and cave. The wading pool was perfect for our two year old. Lots of seating areas. And the pool bar/restaurant is fantastic, we had the eye fillet and it was absolutely amazing! It's a shame the resort seems to have been cut in half so the second pool, BBQ area and playground is no longer accessible. We loved the other pool on our last visit in 2017 and we did miss not having a playground available. Easy few minute drive into the main area in Port Douglas and 5 minutes out to the wildlife habitat. We love the location. And it's very quiet at night.

Nestled in the heart of Port Douglas, Dougies Backpackers Resort is a haven for budget travelers seeking a relaxed atmosphere. Designed by former backpackers, this resort truly understands the needs of its guests, offering affordable lodging options that include dorms, private rooms, and caravan tents. With lush tropical surroundings featuring hammocks and an inviting outdoor pool, it’s easy to unwind after a day of exploring nearby attractions like the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest.
The atmosphere was really cool as it’s nestled amongst patches of tropical foliage. Felt that there could be MANY improvements made especially in regard to the facilities. In saying that you could still get by and I felt a 5 star review was fitting as the service was impeccable. From the moment of booking till the moment I got dropped off at cairns I felt an abundance of support from the team. Extra note: - the location is okay but you have to factor in distance to get into town. There’s scooters and bikes to rent out but it may come at a cost or be slightly more timely in comparison to living in the centre. - there are many temporary residents which are lovely but may not be as adventurous for the short term travellers looking to mingle with others. In general great place! Thanks for having me:)
Philip E — Google review
Can't say much about the rooms, as I was only there 15 minutes to pick someone up. What I can say, and the reason that I was decided to comment here, when prompted, is that from the moment of my arrival I had a really pleasant warm feeling from the atmosphere of the place, even before the staff stepped out to assist me. Their friendliness and efficiency quickly further complemented that initial feeling. I visit Port Douglas regularly to visit with friends. It is not high on my favourite spots list. However, the picturesque drive up there from my home in Cairns, alone, makes it worth the visit. And now, if I was looking for a place to stay in Port Douglas, Dougies will be my first stop.

Jeff and his unbeatable good humor will make you feel like you're staying with your best friends ! A superbly equipped, spacious, clean, peaceful campsite with a range of accommodation options (tents, cabins, van parking). I give 4 stars instead of 5, because sometimes the TV screen and the music in the living room are both very loud in same time, it's not pleasant. But everything else was perfect ! In terms of value for money, I've rarely seen anything as good ! The staff are really helpful and friendly, it was a pleasure to stay here. Thank you for the warm welcome.

Extremely noisy at night time up until 12. First night we stayed there there was a karaoke night that went on until midnight. Impossible to avoid the noise as all rooms are beside the bar/kitchen. Kitchen was very dirty and no one seemed to clean after themselves. It is very bag packer vibes a lot of people living there long term but no one really takes care of the place. Private rooms are very basic and super dark. Very good value for money especially in the area of Port Douglas just be aware you are booking into a party hostel. We stay in hostels/camping sites all the time but I would not reccomend this place if you want chill vibes. Seemed like a great place for young people to socialise and drink.
Iballa Y — Google review
If you want to book a campsite, don't book here. $50 a night for a site at the back of the hostel which looks more like a dump point than anything else (bucket of stagnant water, trailer full of vegetable waste, lots of rubbish all around, uneven site) not at all a place where you'd want to spend the night. Fortunately, on seeing this, the receptionist agreed to refund our money so we found another camping cheaper and 100 Times better. If the night had been cheaper, maybe it would have been a bit more acceptable, but still...

Dangerous Driving – Public Safety Risk.. Not sure if it was the owner or an employee, but someone driving one of this company’s four-wheel drive work vehicles is an accident waiting to happen. I had a terrifying near miss when this driver, clearly distracted and looking down at their phone, drove straight through an intersection without even noticing. I had to slam on my brakes and take evasive action to avoid being hit. To make matters worse, I pulled up behind them at the next intersection where they sat for another 30 seconds, still looking down, clearly still on their phone despite the road being clear. If this is how their staff or management drives around in a company vehicle, I’d be extremely cautious dealing with them in any capacity. Absolutely unacceptable and dangerous behaviour on the road.

Managed by Jason and Anne Moore for over 10 years, the family-run business ensures friendly and personalized service throughout your stay.
We had a wonderful stay here over the Christmas period. Anne and Jason couldn’t have been more welcoming, thoughtful and helpful. They gave great advice on trips and booked them for us too, which avoided additional costs. Lovely clean , comfortable accommodation perfect for our needs. Well equipped apartments which allowed us to have a really comfortable stay. Great location too. Would highly recommend.

Fabulous self-catering apartments, within a 10 minute walk to the main shopping and restaurant street in Port Douglas. Within a 10 minute walk to the beautiful 4 mile beach. The apartments have everything you need from cutlery to the dishwasher. They also supply hair dryer, iron and ironing board. There are guest laundry facilities on site and reception will give you free sachets of detergent too. Our apartment had a garden /tree view and a nice table and chair set up outside. Air con and fans made a big difference too to our comfort when the heat of the day got a bit much. Swimming pool is heated which was lovely in May when although very hot and humid the water temperatures can be very chilly.

In my opinion this was a nice accommodation with good service. It needs a renovation to the room we stayed in, as well as the pool area which is showing signs of age, although it was well set up. Service was very good.

We recently stayed at Freestyle Resort in Port Douglas and found the property itself to be lovely. The resort has a relaxed, tropical feel with beautiful gardens, a well-maintained pool area, and a great location—just a short walk to both the beach and the main street. It’s a peaceful and convenient spot that made for an enjoyable holiday base. We stayed in a privately owned Airbnb unit within the resort, which was well-appointed and comfortable. However, during our stay, we made a small and reasonable request at the front desk. While we understand that we weren’t booked directly through the resort, we had hoped for a little more flexibility or understanding. The staff member we spoke to remained polite but was ultimately unable to assist, and the interaction felt a bit impersonal. This experience, while minor, did influence our overall impression. We had genuinely been considering staying at Freestyle again—this time booking directly through the resort to enjoy the full range of services. However, the lack of support with our request has led us to decide otherwise. It’s unfortunate, as the resort itself is very appealing, but guest experience matters—and in this case, it was just enough to sway our decision not to return. Response to the onsite mangers reply being: To ask the onsite manager to solve a problem in your Airbnb apartment is like asking the manger of the hotel over the road to fix a problem in your room. ----------- Well, this goes to show the level of service. I am sure the Airbnb Host pays body corp and the like. Nothing like shining a light on a lack of service an the managers attitude.
Art F — Google review
We spent 8 nights at Freestyle very recently. We had a thoroughly positive experience. The service was excellent from the moment Anne warmly greeted us from our shuttle drop-off to her helpful shuttle pick-up. She was at the property and available throughout the day until closing time at 6pm. Jason was away from the property, so we did not get the chance to meet him. We were especially grateful to Anne's great information about all that the area has to offer. Our one bedroom apartment was very comfortable, well kept, and spotless. We enjoyed cooking and preparing meals there often. The kitchen was stocked with all the appliances, pots, pans, bowls, dishware, etc. that we needed. We loved it's proximity to the main street, marina, and 4-mile beach. We did not have a car and could easily walk to all these places within 10 minutes. And, we could get a local and affordable shuttle quickly if we chose not to walk. We can't say enough good things about our stay at Freestyle and would return there in a heartbeat! Anna & Leigh

Absolutely loved the place! We visited Port Douglas recently for Carnivale and stayed at Mandalay. It’s across the road from 4 Mile Beach, walking distance to town and the apartment was nice and big with all the extras! Comfortable bed, great kitchen, nice shower & bathrooms. The extra facilities were fun for the kids. The full size tennis court gave them the opportunity to try it out and have some fun, followed by a swim in one of the 2 pools. And the BBQ facilities are great! Utensils, oils & sauces all available at the BBQ! I’d definitely stay there again.

We stayed in the 3-bedroom apartment at Mandalay in Port Douglas. The apartment itself was beautiful—spacious, well-appointed, and perfect for accommodating our group of six. However, we were very disappointed to discover that two of the bedroom windows had been left unlocked prior to our arrival. It appears these were not checked by staff or cleaners before we checked in. Unfortunately, this led to our apartment being broken into whilst we were out for dinner and several valuable belongings being stolen. This was a distressing experience that significantly impacted our stay.

We are currently staying here and absolutely loving it. We have a beautiful third floor apartment overlooking the pool. Our coffee machine wasn't working and was replaced within a few hours without a second thought. The kids and us adults have enjoyed swimming and lounging daily and the climb up the stairs is great for working off the calories of all the amazing local cuisine and cocktails. Its a short walk under the trees into town and the beach is right across the road. I would absolutely recommend this as a great place to stay and will return to stay again. The staff are friendly and even offered to help take our bags upstairs.

Couldn't rate this place higher. We had a wonderful week here next to the beach. Rang ahead to enquire about an upgrade, but they had already done it. Apartment was insane. Spacious, great outdoors area and comfy furniture. A short stroll into town, ample parking and close to other things like restaurants and golf courses

We stayed at the Mandalay during this July school holidays. We booked a 2 bedroom deluxe as we wanted to be near the pool for our children but were upgraded to an executive 2 bedroom apartment on arrival. We had apartment "3", which was on the ground floor, that had direct access to the larger pool (we only found out about the second pool during the end of our stay). The apartment was fantastic! Perfect for our 5 and 8 year olds (2nd room with two single beds). The executive apartment is newly renovated with a fully stocked new kitchen (with a small blender, perfect for making mango smoothies to enjoy by the pool!), lovely main bathroom (with a giant bathtub) and good laundry room (the new Bosch washing machine was great). Fans in all the rooms and the main living room as well. There was air conditioning but we turned it off for most of our stay as the fans were enough to keep us cool! In terms of facilities, the main pool was heated and great for our kids with some pool toys to play with! You can also access Four Mile beach directly from the back across the road (we went for a few sunrise walks!). There was also a tennis court and there looked to be tennis racket/ball hire (but we didn't have a chance to try it out). There is a second pool by the tennis court with a bbq but I heard that it wasn't heated so we didn't ust it. The apartment is a very easy 8-10 minute walk into town! We got some food supplies at the Coles in town and walked into town for most lunches/dinners. You can walk to the wharf in about 13 minutes, where the boats for the Great Barrier Reef go from. We've stayed at one of the larger "resort" style hotels in the past in Port Douglas but would much rather stay at Mandalay next time we're in PD!

Lovely clean and spacious accommodation with 2 pool and a beautiful tennis court. Lots of undercover parking available. There was the lack of a pantry in a kitchen that was otherwise spacious and well equipped. The matresses and pillows could also use a refresh as they were quite hard though acceptable. There's direct beach access across the side road with coffee, a cafe and the surf club within a block and Macrossan street and the heart of Port Douglass dining 10 minutes walk away. I'd absolutely stay here again.

We stayed in a 2 bed unit on floor 2 for 3 nights. Initially booked by our travel agency for a one bed king. The unit we were placed in was a king plus twin room. The king had an ensuite bath but the other bath was nonfunctional. Our unit faced a garden and tennis court.Unit was spacious. Pros: Location close to restaurants and shopping (15 min walk) and 5 min to beach Quiet Clean Good housekeeping service with nice replacement of beach towels In unit washer and dryer, tea kettle, toaster made it very convenient. Comfortable bed Nice selection of teas is a nice touch Cons: No elevator which was fine for us but if you have mobility issues you want to be on ground floor Shower enclosure had a small leak near the sink side which I reported to desk (the enclosure looks like it needs to be replaced) The oven: the oven appears to be a high end appliance but the temperature numbers and other writing had been almost scrubbed off which made it difficult to use. I did locate the instructions in a drawer but the writing was so tiny I could barely figure out the dials. There should be a laminated card with a diagram or the unit should be replaced for user safety. We were in until 19. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

We recently stayed at The Mandalay Luxury Apartments in unit 31. This unit is a 3-bedroom Ground Floor Executive Apartment which we requested as we were traveling with our elderly parents. The apartment was large and beautifully decorated with everything we needed for a great stay it also had 3 bathrooms which we weren't expecting so that was a great surprise for us as this meant we all had our own bathroom. We had a private courtyard with our own gate to access the beach across the road. Late in our stay we had trouble with our fridge. Anna and Bernie were very helpful, as we had to move apartments which was a bit disappointing at the time, but Bernie and Anna made the move easy and quick and once we were all moved into Unit 12 on the first floor, we enjoyed the views of the pool area and were all very happy with this apartment. The only difference with this apartment was it had 2 bathrooms not 3 but that wasn't a problem. A big shout out to Bernie who helped us through our stay, nothing was a problem for him, and he was always happy to help. Having two pools in the complex was great and we had the smaller pool all too ourselves each time we went there. If you want a specific apartment, contact them directly and request what you are looking for as they are only too happy to help and make your stay a happy one. This will be the only place we stay when we go back to Port Douglas in the future. Highly recommend The Mandalay Beachfront Apartments especially the Executive Apartments. Thanks for everything 😊

The Deep Retreat Spa & Bathhouse offers a truly relaxing and rejuvenating experience for anyone in need of a great escape. The skilled masseurs, particularly Mayra, provide professional and courteous treatments tailored to individual needs. They take the time to listen to concerns and preferences before the session, ensuring the best possible treatment. Clients have expressed immense gratitude for the relief from tension and pain after experiencing the signature deep massage, followed by a soothing magnesium bath and steam room session.
I had an incredible experience at Deep Retreat Massage in Port Douglas, thanks to the amazing therapist Meredith. I booked the romantic package for my birthday, which included wine, chocolates, a 20-minute bath and sauna, followed by a 60-minute massage. When we arrived (my partner, friend, and I), we were guided into two separate changing rooms without being asked for our names or any details—just told to change and follow into the bathhouse. The bathhouse itself had a calming, dimly lit ambiance, but I did notice that the doors leading to the outside (including one to the carpark) were only covered with a sheet, which slightly compromised the sense of privacy, especially near the showers. That said, the massage made the whole experience unforgettable. Meredith was absolutely phenomenal. Her technique, the way she intuitively found and applied the perfect pressure to every pressure point, left me feeling both physically relaxed and emotionally moved. It was deeply healing—so much so that I genuinely felt like I was floating afterward. Despite a few minor things with the facilities, I left feeling so grounded, refreshed, and grateful. A beautiful way to start my birthday—thank you, Meredith!

I visited The Deep Retreat Spa & Bathhouse for a relaxing massage, and came away with so much more. I had suffered with debilitating imbalance and unstable vision for 8 months. No medical practitioner, osteo or physio had been able to help. After 2 treatments with Mayra, all my issues disappeared. Mayra was amazing, very experienced and knowledgeable, particularly with issues affecting the spine. I cannot recommend this business and its team more highly. If I didn't live in Melbourne, I would be visiting weekly. I left feeling so much better and with a treatment plan to avoid any further issues. 10/10.

A very beneficial and enjoyable experience starting with a relaxing time in the Bathhouse, to be followed by a beneficial Deep Tissue massage. A wonderful ambience in the Bathhouse itself, to wind down and gain maximum benefit from the next stage. The therapist was kind, friendly and professional in her delivery, all in all a pleasurable experience. A returning customer from last year, with intentions to continue each year in the future.
Sally H — Google review
Simple process to book online. Make sure you get there a bit earlier, as suggested, so you can enjoy the relaxing bathhouse before your massage. Karli is a great therapist and she was able to relieve much of my tension and muscle knots so that I left feeling relaxed and ready to enjoy my holiday.

I had a one hour facial with Meredith. Get to your appointment half an hour early to soak in the bath and relax in the sauna, it is divine! The facial itself was so relaxing, and my skin is still glowing the next day. A must do while in Port Douglas!

I had a wonderful experience at The Deep Retreat. Mayra was fantastic - I actually forgot where I was or which direction I lay down in after the massage 😅. My partner also had an equally amazing experience with Laura and my friend with Lucas. The bath house was a lovely combination with the massage. Highly recommend.

Words can not describe how amazing my experience was with mayra at deep retreat Spa. Mayra was very professional from the arrival to finish. The bath house was so relaxing to then go for an hour massage i was in heaven. I can testify this is value for money and you won't be disappointed, I can't wait to book my next appointment and I will be booking for family and friends who come visit BEST AND MOST RELAXING TREATMENT 10 STARS 🌟

Excelent place! The managers Rob and Corine are very kind and cool! Always helping if we need something! The rooms are big and clean! We will be happy to come back for sure! 100% recommended!

Staying here was a disaster. From loud plumbing gurgling through the night and a smell of sewage to doors that jammed and a room that didn't lock, staying here was a disaster. The manager tried her best to help but Birch Resort was unwilling to cooperate in any way. We stayed for one night but paid for three. I would not recommend this place!
Sharon S — Google review
The room was comfortable, parking was easy, the pool was lovely. There is a camp kitchen, the only downside was people smoking right outside it. It’s about 2.5k from the centre of town. It looks like they’re in the midst of renovating the place so it’ll be good to come back and see how it turns out.
Casey P — Google review
Good location, spacious room, clean bathroom and nice pool. Management was very kind and generous to give us local advice which was very cool. Good areas to eat, just a walk away. Only issue was insects in room but i believe can't avoid them in tropical climate.

The room was thoughtfully decorated and had a wonderfully comfortable bed. It was spotlessly clean and quiet so we could enjoy a great night's sleep. Pity the restaurant wasn't functioning and the same for the free wifi.

When you choose Port Douglas Apartments for your getaway, you're opting for a serene retreat that feels just like home. Perfectly suited for families and larger groups looking to unwind, these accommodations come fully equipped with kitchens and laundry facilities, ensuring all the comforts of home are at your fingertips. After a day filled with adventure in the stunning surroundings of tropical North Queensland, you can return to relax in style.
We are a senior couple and the Port Douglas Apartment, although small, perfectly met our needs. It was affordable and although not right on the beach, was only a 2 minute walk to beautiful 4-mile Beach. We loved the location - the tropical private grounds - the swimming pool. A great choice for us.
Wanda E — Google review
Clean, with good amenities, competitive prices and in prime location, I can't recommend Port Douglas Apartments enough. Having stayed at lots of different accommodation places over the years in Port Douglas, I can confidently say this is the cleanest place I've stayed at. The room I had was light, with the balcony offering connection to the outside world, but the trees and shutters maintained a sense of privacy. The pool was also enclosed by garden, also maintaining that privacy and a sense of relaxation. Lots of shade options at the pool. A great location too - right in town, at the quieter end of the street (have stayed at the other end, and the pubs can have lots of noise until late), close to the beach. Sonya and Robin were lovely to deal with, always smiling and working hard.
Ella M — Google review
Lovely hosts, nothing to much bother. Lovely clean apartment, comfy bed and pillows, nice sitting area with tv etc, with a shuttered area of here with extra table and chairs to eat privately. Good kitchen with a few essentials there for you. Good ensuite maybe could use a fan. Few minutes walk to beach, shops, marina, markets and cafes/ restaurants. Beach chairs and towels available to borrow. Enjoyed our holiday here in Port Douglas for the 3rd time. This was the best apartment, with our daughter and son-in-law 2 doors down. Thanks Sonia and Robin

Location Location Location Close to beach & also close to shops/restaurants. Everything within walking distance. Have stayed at many different places in Port & these apartments are by far the cleanest. Units have all the basics needed - renovated bathroom, comfy bed, small kitchen with a dining & lounge area. A balcony with outdoor table/chairs is another good feature. There is a communal laundry area with dryers. Hosts Sonia & Robin are super helpful. Overall great value for good basic accommodation (esp for Port prices) in a prime location.
Danielle M — Google review
I highly recommend the Port Douglas Apartments to anyone who wants an excellent and spotlessly clean accommodation. I have stayed in several different places in Port Douglas over the years, but nothing beats how clean the rooms are at Port Douglas Apartments. Robin and Sonya are both obliging, and nothing is too much trouble. They work very hard to keep it spotlessly clean. I will be returning again.

Hubby booked a surprise get away to the GBR for my birthday. These apartments are perfectly located in walking distance to the beach, walking tracks and local eats & drinks. The apartments are immaculate and facilities well presented with the homely feel that Sonia & her husband achieve effortlessly. Secure parking and amazing insight from the hosts of must see things to do in Port Douglas made our stay even better. Highly recommend and hope to return in the future.
Elisa G — Google review
We really enjoyed our 7 night stay at Port Douglas Apartments. As regular visitors to Port each year, we've been wondering and we're so glad we made the call to Robin and Sonya. The very first thing that impressed us was the loyalty shown to return guests. We had to call back as Robin needed to accommodate the regulars first before taking our booking. A major win!! We were kept informed of any updates regarding our transfers from Cairns and all communications were delightful. Upon arrival we received a warm welcome and were shown to a lovely, clean, light filled apartment on the first floor with fresh decor. A good sized kitchen with dishwasher and microwave a small hotplate and a sensible fridge (not a bar fridge). Every cupboard revealed something you might need. Foil, paper towels, cling wrap, insect spray, air freshener, a spare fan. An excellent sized TV with Foxtel. The lounge area was comfy, the balcony well equipped with table and chairs and shutters for privacy from the passing traffic or your neighbours. The bathroom was a good size and modern with plenty of drawers for storage. The mattress was super comfortable, as were the pillows. Plenty of storage space for clothes, etc. The complex amenities are excellent with a guest laundry, a popular BBQ area, a surprisingly private pool given it's located at the front of the property but totally surrounded by shrubbery so you don't even know that people are walking past. A book library and beach equipment are available. Car parking is available on-site underneath. The property is at the quiet end of Macrossan Street, a minute's walk from Four Mile Beach and immediate proximity to the shopping/dining precinct. The staircases to the upper floors are long, be sure you can carry your suitcases as there is no lift. Sonya and Robin are wonderful hosts. The apartments are so clean and fresh, truly a pleasure. Many thanks.

Absolutely perfect! Cayman Villas was exactly what we needed for a relaxing getaway. The location couldn’t be better—just a short stroll to Four Mile Beach and Macrossan Street. The villa was spacious, quiet, and so comfortable, with a cozy bed, a jacuzzi to unwind in, and a private balcony overlooking the pool. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful tropical escape! 🌴✨

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The woman at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. The location was fantastic. We walked almost everywhere as we were only a few blocks from the beach and from the marina.

I had to travel to Port Douglas for work who arranged accommodation for me at Cayman Villas. The hosts Lee and Bryce were amazingly welcoming on my very early arrival! I was advised that they would call as soon as my room was ready which was before the nominated 2pm check-in time and I was able to get in early. The apartment was amazing! Youngest child was very happy to score the balcony room down one end of the property and I was very happy to be at the other end away from the teenage boys! The ensuite had a VERY large spa which was used many times. View from the lounge balcony across the pool was fantastic and I had to make sure that I set my workstation up facing away from the view to get anything done! Well appointed kitchen in the apartment and two BBQ's beside the pool meant eating out was not necessary; short walk/drive to Coles meant everything was close at hand. The only downside is having to leave and go back to the real world!
Corey S — Google review
Room was great. Location perfect. A small group of other vacctioners not so great. Disappointed management didn't enforce rules strictly when it came to this group. Playing loud music in the pool area, drinking from bottles whilst in the pool, swimming before the pool was open. Not sure if they own a room but it sure felt like they did. Managements lack of authority here did ruin a perfectly great holiday.

I actually live here, on a lease. So I i don't know what rooms are available for tourists. But even the basic non- refurbished ones are ok. Location great, only a $5 shuttle into town or if you are ok to walk in, then about 30 minutes. Pool ok and BBQ facilities are down by the pool.

Nice clean unit with laundry and air con in lounge room only, however noisy at night with sprinklers turning on outside at 11pm and then a bit louder about 1/2hr later, single bed mattresses were quite uncomfortable(too hard) and rooms too hot despite overhead fans and I slept on lounge whole week. Great BBQ area and pool which is open till late.

We didn't book our room through the resort itself, but through a property management place. This place was nice. The pool was a good size and had spots for kids and adults. You have to pay for Wi-Fi, but that seems to be like most places in the area. Good sized room. Elevator if you need it. Underground car park too.

Overall clean and well-equipped 2-bedroom apartment. Very helpful staff who went out of their way after hours to help us. However, do not stay at Unit 27. Unit 26 resident talked all night long for every night during our stay. Sleepless nights if you are in the smaller bedroom next to him.

I'm writing on behalf of my grandparents, because they wanted to leave a review, but can't use google. We have been staying at Reef Club Resort for 17 years, and during the past 8 years, while Lea and Joe have been managing the Reef Club. They have been very caring, and have met all our needs. My wife and I booked an eight night stay and on arrival it became very apparent that the pictures promoting this facility were far from a true representation of what in reality we were met with. The cleanliness of our room was very poor and the pool and other amenities very sub standard. We can’t comment on the service as we decided to leave 15 minutes after our arrival, forgoing the cost of our eight night stay. We walked into town with our suitcases and were fortunate enough to secure alternative accommodation. We love Port Douglas and although a very costly stay this time around, we already plan to return to this beautiful and unique part of the world next year.
Steve R — Google review
We stayed 5 nights at this resort and were so disappointed with all aspects of our accommodation. We arrived at 8.30pm having notified reception that we would be checking in late. Trying to find our room was difficult and nobody was around to assist us. We then had to drag our luggage up two flights of stairs over broken and cracked tiles. The room was a total disappointment and badly in need of renovation. We cannot find a positive with anything and this would have to be, by far, the worst accommodation we have ever stayed at. Expensive as well. No stars from us! It was also very noisy and within 30 metres of the main road. The main room had no glass window and only a plastic louvre.
Robinson W — Google review
Absolutely disgusting place. We paid for five nights and stayed one, we left first thing in the morning. The room stank of mould and it had clearly never been cleaned. I wouldn't even call it a low level backpackers. Putrid accommodation.
Daniel P — Google review
Location good, staff obliging and pool fine However everything very worn and in need of refurbishing. The plumbing leaked, water for showers was not always hot, the kettle and hairdryer had to be replaced, no fan in the bathroom…. Additionally there was no lift to the 3rd floor.
Helga H — Google review
Came in for a five-night stay but we checked out the next day. Hard to find your room. Once you do find it you realise you have to share the room with the cockroaches. When I complained about it I quickly found out the owner/manager likes cockroaches much more than Amricans! (For the record, I'm a Australian and USA citizen and the owner/manager is niether).
Daniel S — Google review
So gross, it was stinky and I don’t think the place had ever be thoroughly cleaned before. Don’t ruin your vacation with this. There was dirt in the bed and I did not sleep under covers. The place was also fly infested. You would have better luck sleeping in the Daintree.

Nice place in the heart of Port Douglas. Good sized pool that includes a hot SPA and a large bbq. 10 minutes walk to the centre, 5 to Four Mile beach. We stayed in a double bedroom with SPA. Apartment was really spacious and with all the facilities that you might need. Bathrooms are large as well and the balcony is quite nice. Cleanliness was ok, not perfect. Room was a bit dark, suggest to book one at higher floors so you’ll probably get more light

Great location, easy walking distance to the shops, restaurants and marina. The 3 bedroomed apt (No 13)we shared was spacious and well equipped. Plenty of cutlery and crockery for eating in and eating by the BBQ and pool. The bedrooms all have built in robes, an ensuite to the main bedroom and a shared bathroom for the other 2 bedrooms. The beds were very comfortable, and we all made use of the spare blankets in each room. The shower pressure was great and there was plenty of hot water. We used the BBQ by the pool a lot...there is plenty of room to cook...just remember to keep pressing the button so the gas doesn't go out!

Stayed here in August 2025. Our room was great, two bedrooms that sleeps 4 people. Nice quality bathrooms in eaxh. Great kitchen and balcony for cooking and eating. Super close to beach which was amazing, like 1 minute walk close... Short walk to the main street to where the shops are and a short walk to the marina. Pool was great, wasnt busy when we were there so was lovely. BBQ was well used by us for dinners most nights! Highly recommend this spot for families with kids

The rooms are great for a family. Ours had two bedrooms (1 king bed, 1 twin single), two ensuites, a good kitchen and lounge. The balcony was a great place to have meals. The pool was warm but can get a bit over crowded. The BBQ by the pool could also do with an upgrade. It is a short walk to the main shopping strip and only 10 minutes walk to the wharf where the reef boats depart.

A really great location, close to swimming area of beach and easy walk to the main shopping street. Our apartment was looking a little run down, not as new and modern as those pictured on the site, but it was clean and spacious. Had everything we needed. The pool was nice but would be good if it was maintained a bit more. Overall, for the price, it is good value for the space and location.

What an amazing place to stay! Loved everything about Mowbray By The Sea! Mowbray By The Sea, was a fantastic place to stay. The pool was long, spacious and always clean, the BBQ and toilet facilities around the pool have also great. The rooms were clean, tidy, with a modern fit-out. Location is great, with the beach a 1 minute walk and town only 10min walk (no car needed). Overall we found our stay to be very comfortable, and Martin was always friendly and welcoming. We will be coming back again when we return to Port Douglas. 10/10.

In particular, Theresa was very accommodating and knowledgeable of the area and the trips. This is one space we would definitely be returning to, again and again.

Saltwater Luxury Apartments is a contemporary accommodation located in the heart of Port Douglas, offering self-contained 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments suitable for singles, couples, families and groups. The apartments feature kitchens, whirlpool baths, free parking and an outdoor pool. The central location provides easy access to gyms, parks, beaches and shops. Guests can enjoy amenities such as a restaurant on-site, outdoor pool with terrace and garden views.
I recently stayed at Saltwater Luxury Apartments with my little family for some rest and recreation. I needed somewhere where I had the choice of being self sufficient with meals and routine or central enough to go out when we wanted. I also needed somewhere like home for the rest factor with children. Saltwater met all my needs. It is placed in a central location where you can walk to pretty much everywhere within Port Douglas. It has a pool which the kids and I enjoyed. The apartment is clean and functional and has plenty of space for family and alone time. The staff were friendly, helpful and caring to our needs which made our stay even more enjoyable. Will definitely stay again.

What can I say—our stay was amazing from the moment we arrived! A huge thank you to Deb and Paul for their incredible hospitality. We gave them a quick call while we were out, and they went ahead and organised a sunset cruise for us, which turned out to be absolutely breathtaking. If you’re heading to Port Douglas, don’t bother looking anywhere else—Saltwater Luxury Apartments is the place to stay. We’ll definitely be back… hopefully sooner rather than later!

Saltwater Luxury Apartments is the perfect spot in the heart of Port Douglas — we loved the spacious, beautifully styled apartment that had everything we needed. The location couldn’t be better, and the whole place felt like a home away from home. Deb and Paul were warm, thoughtful hosts who made our stay even more special.

Paul and Debbie are exceptional hosts whose warm hospitality and knowledge of Port Douglas’ local dining and events truly enhanced our experience. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay in their beautifully refurbished three-bedroom apartment was comfortable and memorable. The apartment’s fresh, modern vibe and central location made it the perfect home base. Their attentiveness and genuine care made every moment special, and we are deeply grateful for their efforts in making my 60th birthday celebration 🎂 🎈 🎉

Description and rating of this accommodation far from accurate. A more appropriate name should be Saltwater Average Apartments. 3 stars at best. Massively overpriced. No lifts to assist with heavy luggage up to 2nd floor. Wi-Fi signal so weak can’t access much stuff on web. Had to use our own data. Rooms adequate but dated and very noisy especially in the evening. Swimming pool very small, with lots of tiles missing or falling off. Won’t be going back there anytime soon.

Great apartment, both bedrooms had own ensuites. Great view from balcony of mountains & pool. So close to town, walked everywhere. Managers Deb & Paul were wonderful, booked our tours and were so friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay there again.

Loved the unit. 5 ladies, 3 bedrooms - 2 ensuite and an extra loo. Huge kitchen, dining and lounge area. Balcony overlooking main street with outside dining area. Right in the heart of Port Douglas. Jason truly looked after us, no lift, so he took all our luggage up to the unit and back down when we left. Any requests were promptly actioned! Lovely pool area with BBQ. Shops -just a flight of stairs away. Overall 30/10!!

Nestled in the heart of Port Douglas, Mediterranean Port Douglas offers a delightful escape just moments from the stunning Four Mile Beach. Guests can enjoy a refreshing dip in the outdoor pool or take leisurely strolls through the beautifully maintained gardens. This resort is under new management and is so friendly and clean, lovely atmosphere, rooms are very large, with a variety of accommodation, including motel style rooms through to 3 bedroom and multiple bathrooms for families or couples sharing, highly recommended. Pool is delightful, didn’t want to leave ! Thanks Nina and Adam for being so obliging with our requests.

My recent stay at this hotel was somewhat underwhelming. Considering the price, I had higher expectations for the level of service and comfort. Throughout my stay, there was hardly anyone around, which made interactions feel a bit impersonal. The facilities and the room were quite basic and didn't quite live up to the appealing images on their website. Overall, this hotel didn't fully meet the expectations I had for its price range. With some improvements in service quality and facilities, it could offer a much better experience.

We have stayed in Port Douglas many times. Unfortunately our stay at here was not the best. We had appointment 12 and let me just say the dust on fans, skirting boards, bathroom mirror, fabric lampshades, aircon units and the side of our side tables was THICK! The out side balcony was filthy with cobwebs, thick dust and grime. The entire outside needed a pressure hose. We are a family of asthmatics and have allergies and stepping into this place was a disappointment unfortunately. Also no spare blankets ( sheet only on bed) only couch throws ment to be spare blankets? Mould in the fridge seal $5 each for pool towels but no one around to buy them off.. The hotel has massive potential but is definitely being let down. Found it strange not to see any cleaners/ matnace workers the 5 days we stayed here. Plus side was couch was very comfortable. Good to have a full kitchen and laundry available in room.

Received an automated email saying booking had been cancelled. Emailed back asking why. No response. Tried calling and was told someone would call back. No one has. Got another automated email saying booking cancelled due to overbooking. A little hard to believe when I made the booking about 4 months ago and you can still make a booking with them now.

We didn't actually book this it went through a tour company. Was very disappointed by the condition of the room and its surrounds. Definitely needs a good revamp. Our room had a make do renovation so paint was chipped off bench tops cupboards etc. Balcony was absolutely filthy . Thankfully there two nights only. Looking at other people's reviews should of vusited 3 to 5 years ago for me to give it a 5/5. Definitely been let go or maybe it was just our room. We were in room 10. Maybe it was a case of this room will do this couple.

Absolutely loved our stay here! Writing this review quite late (travelled here in April of 2023 🙈) but if anything this just proves that we’re still thinking about it just over 2 years later. Private balcony, swimming pool, bbq access, full kitchen, laundry & bathroom. If I’m lucky enough to travel back to Oz. I would definitely stay here again! - Cheers!

We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment with 2 kids. Heaps of room and it was very comfortable. Very clean and tidy. We will stay here next time 100%. The pool was nice and shaded in the afternoon with a nice BBQ Area.

We arrived after booking on airbnb and was told we needed to leave our bank card details, to which we said no, if there is an issue they could take it up with airbnb as that’s the whole point of booking through a trusted site. Our rooms ac was broken so we were shown down the stairs to a smaller room with no view. We were offered no apology and told there wasn’t anything they could do. We asked if they had a different room and we’re told no, 3 times told we could leave if we wanted to so we did. We left and looked on airbnb only to see another, nicer room on their premise despite being told they were full. Miserable desk staff.
