ओम नमों भगवते वासुदेवाय नमः। हरे कृष्णा हरे रामा] रामा&रामा हरे-हरे। Great Thanks to The Divine Life Society (Sivananda Ashram) "If there is ever a heaven on earth, it's here, it's here, it's here.". The Divine Life Society (Sivananda Ashram) is a place i.e. same as its name, get happiness and peace around of this ashram. The atmosphere of this ashram is divine and pleasant. The Ashram on the holy banks of Ma Ganga in the lap of the majestic Himalayas. We went here on 12th April, 2025 and depart from here on 15th April, 2025. The truth is that we did not want to come from there because we felt very good with our children, the children also enjoyed a lot there. It seemed as if we are at God's house. We got lots of peace in this holy ashram. The continue chanting in the bhajan hall. Get positive vibes in Samadhi hall. The member of staff completely dedicated to their services. Very very thankful to get spiritual and divine experience from your holy ashram.

Visited for a Geeta satsang for few hours. The atmosphere is divine and pleasant.. chanting was beautiful in the bhajan hall.. then the samadhi hall is divine and peaceful where the Geeta satsang was happening.. Met a lady swami after the session was over and she was a strong, positive and lovely personality who gave us some thoughtful insights and answered our curious questions.. Beautiful place with nice people to be visited atleast once

This is an ashram of Swami Sivananda ji who was a spiritual guru. Rishikesh is famous for its spiritual reasons and yoga. There are a number of Yoga Ashramas for practicing meditation and Sivananda Ashram is one of the best where anyone can experience the humanity and yogic life It is managed by the Divine life society and the place environment very peaceful and religious and person feels relax in mind, body and soul. This ashram is well managed and everything is very serene and peaceful here. There are also temples especially of Sri Krishna where arati and devotional activities are offered to the lord. It is good place to visit while in Rishikesh. It's a nice ashram, very clean, and known for their spiritual experience. Although we did not stay there and came here only for the visit, I understand there are rooms here for stay for week or more time. If you're coming here for yoga and it's free of cost. The meditation room is quite big and feels very peaceful.

The teachings are authentic, the atmosphere serene, and the Ganges presence adds to the ashram's sanctity. Serene Spirituality on the Ganges Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 stars) Review: Sivananda Ashram in Rishikesh, home of Param Gurur Swami Sivananda Saraswati, offered an enchanting spiritual retreat. Nestled along the Ganges, the tranquil atmosphere embraced me in its serenity. Simple yet comfortable accommodations provided a perfect space for self-reflection. Daily yoga and meditation sessions guided by experienced instructors left me feeling refreshed and connected. The vegetarian meals were not only nourishing but also soulful. There was no electricity at night, plus the coolers weren't working effectively so it was hot as hell. We were sweating badly throughout the night. The bathrooms were common bathrooms and their facilities sucked, there was no water in the morning and the area was smelling really bad. If it was possible to give 0 stars then would have given that

Ashram
Nestled along the tranquil banks of the River Ganga, Sadhana Mandir Ashram stands as a beacon for those seeking spiritual growth and inner peace. Established in 1966 by Swami Rama, this vibrant retreat community invites yogis from around the globe to immerse themselves in meditation and yoga practices rooted in ancient Himalayan traditions. Surrounded by lush gardens, mango trees, and a serene lotus lake, it provides an idyllic setting for contemplation and self-discovery.
I came to this ashram for a Yoga Sutra retreat, it was a wonderful experience. The location is very peaceful, surrounded by nature, with a serene green space by the Ganges where you can go for a walk, observe the animals, rest, this is a perfect setting for a retreat. The food was incredibly delicious and healthy, and I’d like to extend my compliments to all the staff. A special thank you to Ma Tripurashakti who guided us throughout the retreat, offering teachings on satsang, yoga, meditation, and more. Her wisdom and dedication made the experience even more enriching. I highly recommend this place for anyone seeking spiritual growth and tranquility. Hope to come back soon.

I had the unexpected pleasure of meeting Shirin ji during the Guru Purnima lunch event at Sadhaka Grama. Little did I know that a few days later, I would end up sitting in her class at Sadhana Mandir for The Bhagvad Gita in Daily Life course ! The 7-day course started on 23rd July '24 and Shirin ji poured in treasures from the Bhagavad Gita with her usual joyous enthusiasm. She structured it in a way that was interesting yet concise. There were 2 sessions everyday - 2 hours in the morning and 1 hour in the evening. The relevant shlokas for each topic were read by the participants and commented on by her to bring home the practical application of these lofty concepts. This was done through the translation of the verse, a detailed explanation, commentaries from great spiritual gurus from Adi Sankaracharya to Swami Ved Bharati, stories and personal life experiences. Needless to say, the wealth of spiritual knowledge and practical life experience Shirin ji brings with her to each verse has left a deep impression on her students. The first five sessions were dedicated to Jnyana yoga. It answered four questions - Who am I? Who is God? What is this world? How can we be liberated from suffering following this path? The next four sessions were dedicated to Karma yoga, and answered the following questions - What is Karma yoga? How can we practice it? Examples of Karma yogis? What is the fruit of Karma yoga? The final four sessions were dedicated to Bhakti yoga and discussed Saguna Nirguna Bhakti as well as the hall mark of a dear to Ishvara devotee. The last session summarised the learning and gave us the “take home messages and practices from our study.” All in all a unique way to study and get a bird’s eye view of the Bhagvad Gita which is indeed a manual of how to navigate life itself and attain the ultimate goal!! I am forever grateful to Shirin ji, the sages of the Himalayan Tradition and all other spiritual masters for blessing me with this opportunity. I look forward to continuing my education with her in future courses. Hari Om.

Very authentic ashram near the Ganga. The place is beautiful, the people working at the ashram is extremely helpful and made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. The food is great quality, varied and delicious. I would like to encourage a bit more cleaning of the rooms. I signed up for a Yoga Nidra course and it was a very nice experience. The course was very well organized, the teacher Piyush was very knowledgeable and shared many techniques with us so we could learn what Yoga Nidra really is about. I found the course very advanced so just know that it’s not simply a course for relaxation but there’s a lot more to it! Thank you 🙏🏼

Enroute to heaven experience while learning meditation, silence and pranayam from Gurumata Dr. Shirin. The programme named *All About Awareness* is apt for a professional like me who just finished a corporate career of 38years and planning the next meaning full innings with a defined objective. It was conducted by Gurumata Dr. Shirin, a renowned gynaecologist now on the path of spirituality and spreading that one should enhance awareness about one self thru practicing mediation, yoga and pranayam and also art of being silent. I am thankful to God for giving me an opportunity to meet her to fulfill my goal to understand & contribute in Spritual Sphere of my life. The retreat *All About Awareness*, was well thought, scripted and presented. The Meticulously scripted Content, the Professionaly made Presentations, and the Delivery by her was par excellence. She used her knowledge of *Medicine, Management & Philosophy* beautifully. I am more than sure this blend is rarest to find. Even sages will not have it. At the age of 74 years, Her humour, kid like excitement and with flavour of strict administrator made the programme very effective. The practicals of Meditation, Pranayam, Hath Yoga and 2.5 days Silence were easy to execute. She is a god sent teacher. My journey has just begun!!! Hari Om !! The attendees of the programme were myself(have been in leadership positions in multinational organisations), a supreme court lawyer, a renowned Dr. Psychiatrist of Pune, another Doctor having hospital for Diabetics Management, a yoga teacher in Albania, an Astrologer &Vastu expert, An architect engineer handling mega projects and many more.

I attended the Yoga Nidra Retreat course in 2023 and stayed here for a week. -Overall, I was satisfied with the building, food, education, and the quality of the employees. -The library, which is not available at other Ashram schools, and the fact that the lectures included reading of reference books were very good in the sense that I could obtain concrete results and guidelines that I could refer to after returning to my home country. -The cost performance was very good, as it was only about 1500~2000 Rps per day including 3 meals. This is inexpensive even considering the cost of living in India and the cost of services provided by other Ashrams. -The food was much better than when I stayed at other Ashrams in the 20 years ago, and I had no complaints at all, If I could order this kind of food in Japan, I would eat this kind of food at least one day a week. -The best thing about this small facility was that it was far from the center of town, and the mysterious and tranquil atmosphere was maintained. -In addition to the above, Sadhana Mandir Ashram is unique in that it is guided by the philosophy of its founder, Swami Rama, and the meals, instructions, and educational content are consistent.

Nestled in the tranquil Muni ki Reti area along the banks of the sacred Ganges, Shree Swaminarayan Ashram offers a serene retreat for pilgrims and spiritual seekers alike. This location is steeped in history, known as a haven for ascetics who renounced worldly pleasures to pursue deep meditation. Surrounded by lush rosewood trees, the ashram provides an ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Location, rooms, and services are very good . Opt for stay here only if rooms available It's 1 min walk to Gangha Ghat. Ghat here is clean and well maintained. Have strolls , have snan and enjoy the spiritual aura of Ganges.

Swaminarayan ashram is the best ashram in all over rishikesh With • Peaceful environment • Satvik bhojan • Clean and hygienic environment As the Swaminarayan ashram ganga aarti is fabulous and one time watch ones in a lifetime I'll definitely recommend if u are a family person who is coming with his/her family, Swaminarayan ashram is a great choice without any doubt.

I recently visited Swaminarayan Ghat, and the experience was truly mesmerizing. The serene atmosphere, combined with the beautifully conducted evening aarti, made it an unforgettable spiritual journey. The entire ceremony was well-organized, with the priests performing the rituals with deep devotion and precision. The synchronization of the aarti with the rhythmic chants and the sight of the lit lamps reflecting on the holy waters created an ambiance of peace and reverence. The Ghat itself is clean, well-maintained, and offers a perfect setting for meditation and reflection. If you're looking to connect with the divine or simply want to soak in the spiritual energy of Rishikesh, Swaminarayan Ghat is a must visit.
Deeksha B — Google review
Ghat is located on asthapath. Easily accessible, less crowded, ashram is located nearby and very humble people. Everyone is actively encouraged to participate in aarti and they often do other activities like they had Yoga day celebration when we visited. They have a youtube channel as well. Do check it out.

Third Class Property. They Charged Rs. 2200 Per Room AC not working Properly. No Room Service, You need to clean your room on your own. Average Food.

The Ashram is located at a very good location. Rooms are smaller and cozy. Some rooms are well ventilated but they are charged more. Most rooms don't have any ventilation. The hot water supply is limited and hence this needs improvement. No geysers in room. In winter no heaters are also provided. The bathrooms don't have exhaust fan, hence the rooms remain wet and smelly. The housekeeping services are on demand if you are staying longer period. The kitchen and dinning areas are very good. The ashram serves food for poor and sadhus. We participated and donated for the same. The dining services are available for stipulated time. The cost of rooms are bit higher.

Nestled in the serene surroundings of Rishikesh, Swargashram Trust stands as a tribute to Baba Kali Kamli Wala. This revered ashram, managed by the Kali Kamliwala Kshetra, is situated along the banks of the sacred River Ganga and offers stunning views of Ram Jhula. Just a short stroll from this iconic bridge, it provides comfortable accommodations like two BHK AC rooms ideal for families seeking an affordable stay.
I stayed at Swargashram recently and my experience was good keeping in mind that it's not a hotel but ashram. Swargashram trust is build right at the corner of Ram jhula. It has a spectacular views of Ram jhula and the river ganges from the balconies of your rooms. It has large rooms (they were clean), kitchens (in some rooms) and the river facing big balconies for you to chill. It's away from the hustle bustle of the market area of laxman jhula however; one can reach there in say 10mins by foot (if needed). The place is for people who are looking for some peace and quietness. The ashram also has a canteen and serves good food but has limited options. The only thing that i did not like was that you can not go out of your rooms after 10pm because they shut down the gates of ashram. Like I said it's not a hotel. But rest it was good experience.

Gita Bhawan, also known as Geeta Bhavan, is a renowned ashram and Dharamshala in Rishikesh, situated on the banks of the Ganga River in Swargashram. This expansive complex offers over a thousand rooms for pilgrims visiting Haridwar and Rishikesh.
Geeta Bhawan is a peaceful and spiritual place, perfect for elderly people. I heard from a local that those above 60 can live here for life by paying just ₹1,000, which is amazing. The vibes are calm and devotional, and it’s very close to Parmarth Niketan Ashram. A great place to visit or stay in Rishikesh!

OMG such a nice place to stay for a week or so. It's so so peaceful and right in front of the ganga ghat. Ram jhula, parmarth ashram so nearby, walking distance. There is daily satsang inside the geeta bhawan. Overally the place is very beautiful and budget friendly. You should just book in advance if possible. They only allow families to stay. The rooms were okayish and there were ants inside at some places but overally the cleanliness was good.

Geeta Bhawan is a spiritual and cultural hub in Rishikesh, perfect for those seeking peace, devotion, and knowledge. Located on the banks of the Ganges, it offers a serene atmosphere for meditation, satsangs, and reading religious scriptures. The vast complex is home to free lodging for devotees, a beautiful temple, and a well-stocked bookshop with Hindu scriptures and spiritual texts. The murals and paintings depicting stories from Hindu mythology add to the divine charm of the place. It's also a great spot to take a holy dip in the river and experience the sacred energy of Rishikesh. While the rooms are basic and simple, they serve the purpose for those looking for a spiritual retreat rather than luxury. A must-visit for anyone interested in Hindu philosophy and spirituality! 🙏📖🌊

Overall, I had a good experience at the Rishikesh Bus Stand. The cleanliness could be better, and there wasn’t much staff around to assist. However, announcements over the mic were helpful in guiding passengers. Bus timings were mostly on track, and the location is well-connected. With some improvements, it could be even better.

Rishikesh Bus Stand is beautifully located between the hills, giving it a scenic and peaceful vibe. The natural surroundings make it feel more like a hill station than a typical bus terminal. From here, you can enjoy lovely views of the nearby mountains while waiting for your bus. It's a good starting point for spiritual and adventure trips in and around Rishikesh. Cleanliness and connectivity are also decent.

The instructors are knowledgeable and create a supportive learning environment without pressure. Students appreciate the emphasis on safe practice and the opportunity to explore deeper aspects of yoga beyond just the physical postures. While it may not be ideal for those seeking a traditional Ashtanga practice, it's recommended for individuals looking to deepen their understanding of anatomy, alignment, and teaching methodology.
I had an absolutely wonderful experience learning at this Ashram! The instructors are exceptionally knowledgeable, bringing immense expertise and guidance to every session. The environment here is not only serene and peaceful, creating the perfect setting for personal growth and learning, but also meticulously maintained with a strong emphasis on hygiene. The combination of such a tranquil atmosphere and top-notch instruction made my journey truly enriching and fulfilling. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone seeking a transformative experience.

5 stars truly isn’t enough. The overall experience at VYA by far passed my expectations. More than just a school, it is a community. Deeply rooted in sharing and authenticity. I took part in a 200hr vinyasa teacher training, stayed for the level 3 sounding healing course and for the 100hr yin yoga teacher training. 45 days seemed like a lot, and in reality I could’ve stayed longer. Leaving you with a home away from home feeling. The teachers care, they want to share an authentically rooted curriculum. They are extremely helpful, personable and you can tell it is genuine upon first meeting them. The curriculum is intense, you don’t realize how much yoga is already inside of you and they guide you in releasing what you already have. I feel beyond grateful I ended up here and I plan to be back to continue my education. Knowing each of us is deeply supported in our individual journeys and as a new found community. Deeply impacted. Eternally grateful. Thank you forever 🙏🏽 And just for the details.. The kitchen staff worked so hard to prepare us with the nutrients to fuel our intense schedules. The rooms are cleaned twice weekly, fresh sheets included. Filtered drinking water available in plenty of locations. Very fair prices for what you get. Reliable transportation set up. Staff always around for assistance. Couldn’t ask for much else.

The ashram environment was serene and perfect for self-reflection and learning. The food was sattvic, nourishing, and full of love, contributing to the overall holistic experience. This 200-hour YTTC has not just improved my physical practice but also deepened my understanding of yoga as a lifestyle and philosophy. My 500-Hour TTC Experience at Vinyasa Yoga Ashram – Truly Life-Changing I recently completed my 500-hour Teacher Training Course at Vinyasa Yoga Ashram in Rishikesh, and honestly, it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. From the moment I stepped into the ashram, it felt like home. The energy, the people, the environment—everything was so warm and welcoming. The love and support I felt throughout the course made this journey incredibly special. The teachers were absolutely amazing. Each one of them brought something unique and beautiful to our learning experience, and I’m truly grateful for every single one of them. My special thanks to Pradeep Sir,:) What an amazing teacher and such a genuine person! He has this incredible way of breaking down even the toughest poses, making them feel totally doable. His step-by-step guidance, deep understanding of the body, and endless patience helped us achieve postures we never thought we could. Seriously—there were poses that looked impossible at first, but somehow, because of him, we actually managed to do them! And his anatomy classes? So much fun! He always tried to make us laugh while teaching, and it worked. His sense of humor, light-heartedness, and love for what he does made the learning experience so enjoyable. You could feel how passionate he is about teaching, and it really inspired all of us. Anuprita Ma’am, our Pranayama teacher, was like the mother of our group. Her calming presence, deep knowledge, and the love she shared made a huge impact on me. I got so attached to her—I cried so much the day I had to leave. She taught me so much more than just breathwork; she held space for healing and connection. Sangam Sir, our Vinyasa teacher, brought so much humility and creativity into the class. His flows were beautifully designed and filled with intention. His gentle nature made every class feel grounding and joyful. Bhagyashree Ma’am, our Philosophy teacher, had this beautiful, calming aura. The moment she entered the room, the whole vibe shifted. Her wisdom and energy were something I’ll always remember. Our Meditation teacher helped me understand that meditation isn’t just about sitting in silence. It’s about facing your thoughts, feeling your emotions, and learning how to release what no longer serves you. I can’t even count how many times I cried during kriya sessions—it was all the emotions finally coming out. And of course, thank you to Arvind Sir, our Ashtanga teacher during the 200-hour course. His discipline and dedication laid such a strong foundation, and he was always so motivating. The stay at the ashram was really comfortable, the sattvic food was absolutely delicious and nourishing, and the entire atmosphere was peaceful and supportive. We didn’t just study yoga—we lived it. And through it all, we formed a family. The friendships, the laughter, the tears, the shared experiences—those bonds are something I’ll carry with me forever. This experience has touched my heart deeply. I’m already planning to come back for the prenatal yoga course, and I honestly can’t wait to see everyone again.

I recently completed my 300-hour YTT at VYA Ashram, and I am beyond grateful for the deeply transformative experience it offered. The true asset of this ashram is its teachers, our gurus, who not only bring immense knowledge and experience but also the most grounding, positive energy that permeates every corner of this sacred space. Pradeep Sir completely changed the way I viewed anatomy. Who knew it could be this fun? He has the most unique way of breaking down complex concepts into simple, relatable language, always meeting each student exactly where they are in their learning journey. His sessions were insightful, engaging, and full of laughter! Learning under Anupritha Ma’am has been one of the most heart-nourishing experiences of my yoga journey. Her gentle yet powerful presence brings so much grounding, and her ability to guide us through pranayama with such grace, clarity, and compassion is truly a gift. She does not just teach breathwork, she teaches how to live and feel every breath. Her nurturing energy created a safe, warm space that felt like home away from home.Thank you, Anupritha Ma’am, for holding us, teaching us, and for sharing not just your wisdom, but also the cuddly love of Sam and Emma! You are a true blessing to anyone who crosses your path. Sangam Sir is one of the MOST humble, warm, and inspiring teachers I have ever had the privilege to learn from. As our Vinyasa teacher, he brought an incredible blend of creativity and intention to every class. Each flow felt like a moving meditation, thoughtfully crafted and deeply connected to breath and body. His sequences were never just physical, they were soulful experiences that stayed with us long after class ended. Every single teacher at VYA made it a point to truly see us and guide us, no matter where we were in our practice or understanding. That kind of commitment and heart is rare. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team who works tirelessly behind the scenes, the kitchen staff, cleaning staff, and coordinators. You made our days feel seamless, nourishing us not just with wholesome meals but with warmth and care. And how could I forget our fur angels, Sam and Emma? Your cuddles and boundless love added so much joy to every day. Thank you for being a part of our journey. VYA is more than just a yoga school, it is a living, breathing embodiment of what it means to live yoga. Thank you for everything!

300YTT at VYA school - what a lifetime experience! Everything was so well organised, I can’t say anything bad about a month spent with these guys :) Teachers are absolutely amazing. You will get the support on every level. It was intense course, but 300hrs squeezed in 28 days? You can’t expect an easy peasy journey ;) You are learning from true yogis, it’s a different level experience and you can’t describe it with words. Philosophy, Meditation, Pranayama - you may think you know all that, but you will learn and discover much more, you will learn and understand things about your inner self. Alignment, and Anatomy classes - Sangam and Pradeep couldn’t make these classes more interesting and accessible. And most importantly, Vinyasa and Ashtanga classes, the best way to start and end your day :) Vinyasa flows with Sangam let your body move so easily, even with the more advanced asanas. Each class was different so you could explore different ways of teaching Vinyasa classes. Ashtanga with Pradeep, here you will understand what Ashtanga really is ;) your body will be able to do things, you wouldn’t even think of before. Deep twist, backbends, folds on completely different level. If you love Ashtanga already, you will love it even more after a month with Pradeep as a teacher. He will guide you in each asana, so if you can’t get into certain pose now, with Pradeep you will do it for sure. I could keep talking and talking how amazing this experience was. It’s a beautiful place, hence I’m coming back next year :)

Anand Prakash Yoga Ashram & Retreat Center, located in Rishikesh, was established in 2007 by Chetana Panwar and Yogirishi Vishvketu. The ashram offers Akhanda Yoga, a non-sectarian style that combines teachings from various lineages. This includes a balanced practice of asanas, pranayama, meditation, and mantra chanting. Additionally, the center provides discussions on yoga philosophy and the yogic lifestyle.
Highly recommended! I stayed for 24 days and loved it very much. The yoga classes were excellent, and I especially appreciated that a lot of pranayama was included. The food was very tasty, and the staff were always kind and helpful. The organization was very professional, and I felt safe and well taken care of throughout my stay. I’m already looking forward to coming back!

The most beautiful place, so beautifully decorated and with lots of plants, so it feels like a quiet little oasis away from everything. It’s run by the kindest people, who are always around to help you and with such warmth. I stayed for only five days but plan to continue going to their evening classes as I loved it so much. The teachers are great too as is the food!! I hope I can come back to stay again soon!

This was our 1st visit to an ashram and we stayed 4 nights. We followed it up with a week long retreat at another ashram, then another 3 nights at a Rishikesh hotel. Overall, our stay at this ashram was positive. The rooms were nice although the mattresses were thin. The food was good and varied enough so you didn't tire of it. Great chai tea. Lunch and breakfasts were bigger/better than dinner. You sat on floormats to eat with mini tables. You washed your own dishes. The cleanliness of the floor mats could have been better. They had a beautiful yoga room and the instruction was good, however we never got to see or take a class from the guru. There aren't a lot of props, and the ones they had (mats and bolsters) were in pretty bad shape and were filthy. My suggestion would be to buy a mat when arriving in Rishikesh. The daily fire puja was interesting. The chanting (kirtan) was cancelled both nights we were there. The staff was friendly and there was a pleasant comradary with fellow yogis - when you could talk - quiet time 9 p.m. until after breakfast. Great location.

I want to express my deep gratitude to everyone at Anand Prakash Yoga Ashram in Rishikesh. Our stay during the January 2025 retreat was nothing short of transformative. This ashram is truly a hidden gem — a sanctuary in the heart of Rishikesh. The care we received was exceptional, and every aspect of our time there was deeply nourishing. The people are warm and welcoming, the food is wholesome and delicious, and the yoga practice is both intense and beautiful. The pranayama sessions took us deep into ourselves, the fire puja felt like a sacred blessing, and the kirtan opened our hearts in unexpected ways. It was more than a stay — it was a profound recognition of connection. We are already making plans to return. With love and gratitude, Yuri Ji

Staying in ashram is the best way to spend time in rishikesh especially if its a yoga/spiritual trip. Anand Prakash ashram is serene with daily complimentary activities like yoga , fire pooja and others. Food is delicious. Staff here are pleasant, knowledgeable and very helpful. Some rooms have musty/earthy smell from wet walls. Overall beautiful place and people.

I did not stay at the ashram but came to practice yoga for a few days while in Rishikesh. Mitlesh on the front desk is a really special human who makes you feel at home immediately and welcomes you like family, helping you in whatever way he can. All the people I met who were staying at the ashram were all extremely friendly, the yoga hall is beautiful and the teachers are wonderful, warm and knowledgeable, it was really nice to focus on pranayama and hatha style yoga. I hope to come and stay next time, thank you for everything 🙏🏽

It's hard to describe how beautiful this place is. The moment you turn into the little road where the entrance is, you feel calm and at home. Classes are run by different teachers, each bringing something different and special with them. All meals are increasingly tasty and even tough I stayed in Ashram for over two weeks, I did not miss any other food. And the masala tea with breakfast is just the best! This Ashram is not a strict place, you can leave any time you want and explore Rishikesh. This type of Ashram was perfect for me, as I wanted to learn to balance my work with spiritual life and improve my health, and it delivered on all fronts. But the best part of the Anand Prakash Yoga Ashram is their staff. Unfortunately I don't remember all names, but they are all very loving and caring and make everyone feel special. Mitlesh Ji (I hope I can hear more stories from you), Deeksha Ji (your classes have an amazing flow and your chanting is so beautiful), Prakash Ji in the Jungle Ashram (you are so genuine, caring and fun to be around), and everyone else that I had a pleasure to meet there, thank you for being so wonderful! But my biggest gratitude is for Pradeep Ji, who is the backbone of the Ashram: a manager, Kirtan singer, teacher, carer, and a wonderful friend with amazing sense of humour and the best smile. I will stay with an Ashram online community and will definitely come again.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone at Osho Gangadham, Rishikesh for making my stay such a memorable and enriching experience. Originally, I had planned to stay for just two days in January, but the peace, warmth, and energy of this place drew me in so deeply that I ended up spending two wonderful weeks here. A special thanks to Swami Abhinandan ji for his kindness, guidance, and inspiring presence, which made my time here meaningful. My warm regards also to Swami Anand ji, whose gentle nature and wisdom added so much to my stay. The meditation sessions here are truly transformative—beautifully guided, deeply powerful, and leaving a lasting impact on both mind and soul. Everyone here is truly awesome—radiating positivity, compassion, and joy. The food is delicious and nourishing, made with so much love. The view is breathtaking, and the gentle sound of the river flowing in the background is like music for the soul. Thank you for creating such a beautiful space where one can feel at home, at peace, and deeply connected. I carry the warmth of this place in my heart and look forward to returning again. Yoga Niketan Ashram, founded by Swami Yogeshwarananda in 1964, is a peaceful retreat situated on the banks of the Ganga River. The ashram offers a serene environment for yoga and meditation practitioners to deepen their practice and understanding of ancient teachings. With experienced teachers providing personalized attention, students of all levels can benefit from the regular classes and yoga teacher training programs.
A truly wonderful and traditional ashram. The teachers are all amazing, and every class was so enjoyable. The food was also very gentle on the body, with very little spiciness, making it easy to eat plenty without feeling heavy or uncomfortable. It was absolutely delicious! I am deeply grateful for the incredible stay.

Rishikesh is synonymous with rafting but yoga is a close second. You’ll find yoga centers on nearly every corner of the city. With so many options available, it can be challenging for any one center to stand out, but this particular place has successfully made a name for itself. It offers excellent yoga classes and benefits from a convenient location that’s easily accessible, making it a great choice for both locals and visitors seeking to deepen their practice.

My experience at Yoga Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh was absolutely divine! The tranquil surroundings and peaceful ambiance created the perfect setting for spiritual growth and self-reflection. The ashram's prime location along the Ganges River offered breathtaking views and a sense of serenity. Yoga Niketan Ashram is an ideal destination for those seeking a peaceful retreat, yoga, and meditation. I felt at home and rejuvenated during my stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a spiritual and peaceful experience in Rishikesh!

Stayed here for 11 days. Shame I could not stay longer as I could not afford a long stay. I stayed in 2 rooms, the non ac single room which I changed after 2 days, maybe the block I was in was an old one but it was in dire need of sprucing up. The fan was so old and LOUD I would miss the bell for meal times etc and the taps need looking at as the shower didn’t work, but they had a bucket so it’s fine. Then I changed to a single air con room in the next block. Very nice, big, clean and spacious, good air con, 2 fans on the ceiling, hot water. Very comfortable. The daily schedule was good, not that I followed it all every day. Yoga classes excellent, very experienced and knowledgeable gurus. All the staff were respectful, welcoming, attentive and made sure everyone was comfortable. The food not so great; maybe it was because I had just arrived to India and my stomach needed to get used to the food ; but I did not enjoy it at all. Some days nice, most days not really, but everyone is different. Okra was often on the menu and I love okra. Nice library with plenty of English books. Lovely dogs, ground staff, other people also there to stay ashram were great. Be careful of the monkeys!!! Clean place, peaceful and serene; beautiful views over the Ganga. I would recommend it here, stay as long as you can as a few days is not enough. I will return 🙏🏾

Yoga lessons and food very nice. Ashram conveniently located. Staff most helpful. Will strongly recommend for all types of travellers.

It was an amazing trip on the new year, the view of Ganga there is breath taking, the gardens there are clean. You can learn yoga and feel the serenity of Himalayas and Ganges

There was a schedule but Ashram is not that strict in following the schedule, you can skip few classes How to reach: You can reach from Haridwar to Rishikesh by bus and from there you can take a share auto or you can hire a personal Diksha, There are 2 gates of this Ashram, the one on the main road side has stair to walk up till ashram while the other one is from the way that goes around chandrabhaga river, from this side you can defend down, this should be preferred when you a have lot of luggage because from the other side you need to carry it while climbing, but you have to hire a personal rickshaw for this. Schedule: You can see the attached image The instructor over there are easy to approach, for us morning classes were taken by Vimal ji and evening classes were taken by Gaurav ji. There were digestive breathing after lunch which many people didn’t do but we used to have that. Meditation 🧘‍♂️🧘‍♀️ was done 2 times a day. The rooms were clean and linen change happen after 2 days, we took non-ac room which has 1 cupboard, 1 table, attached washroom, hot water facility was there. Library was accessible during library hours where you can read texts of your choice from the many books available there. Tratak is done once a week, Jalneti at our time was in morning Wednesday, Holy hymn where everyone or anyone can sing a song or religious one was done once a week.

Nestled in the picturesque surroundings of Rishikesh, Himalayan Yog Ashram is a renowned center for traditional Himalayan Yoga Training and Ayurvedic healing. The ashram offers a serene and clean environment where spiritual seekers can embark on a journey of healing and tranquility. With programs such as yoga training, therapy, Ayurvedic treatments, detox, and anti-stress therapies, it provides a holistic approach to well-being.
I spent ten days in the Ashram to experience and learn about Yoga and Meditation and I was not disappointed! The regular, daily schedules help you get into the habit and Yogi Ram’s philosophy classes give you food for thought and a stimulating environment to find answers about yourself. The food is great although there’s not much variation from day to day. The rooms and the building are nice as well and offer AC and a free water filter. I would definitely recommend it!

This was my second visit to Himalayan Yog Ashram, and coming back truly felt like coming home. Guruji Rām is a living expression of the yogic path; deeply rooted in tradition, yet radiating the joy of life. Kapil’s classes were an absolute gift; his mantra chanting was phenomenal, his voice carrying a soothing, heart-opening vibration that will stay with me forever. Teju is such a humble, beautiful teacher, overflowing with wisdom and always ready to share with such grace. Sagar, always smiling and joking, always uplifting everyone, brought so much joy and laughter to the ashram space. And Shaym is a wonderful human, always offering a helping hand and a welcoming smile! The food is wholesome, delicious, and abundant, with chai that is simply to die for. The rooms are clean and comfortable, filtered water is always available, and every detail is lovingly cared for. If you’re looking for the true meaning of yoga, this is the place. It’s not a westernised version of yoga, but an authentic sanctuary where the essence of the tradition is preserved and shared as it was meant to be; far beyond āsana. The teachers here are deeply dedicated to keeping the roots and spirit of yoga alive, just as it was intended to be passed down. They also offer wonderful treatments, as I stayed for the Yoga and Anti-streas Retreat (for 11 days), I had some amazing treatments with Kiran. She knew what my body needed without even having to tell her. She is very intuitive. My lower back pain and knee pain was tended to so carefully that the pain was significantly reduced. Despite Topovan becoming increasingly commercialised, my heart broke to see rice fields being torn up for endless cafes and guesthouses, Himalayan Yog Ashram remains a pure and sacred space, untouched in its dedication to yoga in its truest form. Deepest gratitude to the ashram family, and Guruji Rām, I won’t wait another 10 years before returning this time; this place is too precious. Hari Om Tat Sat. 🙏🏽❤️‍🔥🌹

If you are looking for a place to experience true spirituality, this is your ashram. The people that work here are extremely caring and sweet. The food is absolutely delicious. You can book astonishing Ayurvedic massages, that heal your pain in only one session. The teachers are highly competent and I learnt true yogic science (mostly through practice). I did the 200h YTTC, and I recommend it with my heart. But also if you want a shorter program, they have options available and this ashram will welcome you. It felt like home. Whenever I needed something, they were ready to help. True community and commitment are what make this place so unique. Thank you.

This is the famous, authentic Yoga retreat in Rishikesh. There are a couple of Yoga retreats using the similar name of this one to get business. I was almost got tricked. THIS IS THE RIGHT ONE! Himalayan “Yog” Ashram. I took Yoga and Ayurvedic Detoxification Retreat Program for 7 days. Everything was amazing here. All the teachers were VERY Professional. I learned so much from them. I also felt that my body was very clean after the detoxification. The staff were very kind, friendly and ready to help. The room was very clean and good. Most importantly, I met a bunch of great people who want to really live their life. And we all chose to come to Himalayan Yog Ashram. Thank you all.

Stayed for a one week retreat, and it was a wonderful experience, just what I was looking for. Not the entertainment type of yoga retreat for "spiritual tourists." This is a place for studying traditional yoga, and the philosophy classes were some of my favorites, together with Ganga yoga and the sunrise hike. A lot of the people in the group were returning students, so that says a lot. The ashram itself is refurbished - and they actually mean it. Hot water, no power outage, no noise, everything is simple but clean and in great condition. Great views from the rooftop as well.

Grateful for this journey of learning and connection. More than just a teacher training, staying at the ashram for 25 days was about the laughter we shared, the silence that led us deep within, the warmth of unexpected friendships, the peace found in stillness, the joy in the effort of the practice — and a teacher who reminded us to smile, even through the sweat. The ashram is beautiful, well located, and nicely insulated from the noise of the outside world. The food was nourishing, and the space felt safe and simple — in harmony with the yogic lifestyle. This experience offered me many insights, not only about yoga but also about myself. The asana classes follow a very traditional approach: breath-counting, physical discipline, and hands-on adjustments to guide the body beyond its usual limits. It’s not centered around affirmations or poetic language — there’s no emotional guidance or inspiration in that sense — but rather a raw, grounded practice that invites deep focus, strength, and discipline. My favorite part of the day was Sagar’s classes — full of movement, presence, and joy. I also deeply appreciated the pranayama and mantra sessions with Kapil: simple yet powerful tools that I will continue to carry with me. On the other hand, the philosophy classes didn’t fully resonate with me. I experienced certain tones, expressions, and examples as confrontational or divisive — creating separation between people. At times, I felt uncomfortable. Still, this also became part of my learning: observing without taking things personally, holding my inner peace, setting boundaries by expressing myself in class, and journaling about my feelings and reflexions. It was also a way to recognize teaching styles that I personally would not choose to repeat. The Ayurveda classes with Tiju were very good, while the anatomy classes felt distant from what we apply or need to learn as yoga teachers. In the end, this experience was layered, challenging, and transformative, any way I could say that there is something’s missing and that I could be better (as always in life we are improving so I wish them the best to keep working on this project and give the best possible). Thank you.

I completed the 200 hour yoga teacher training. I found the course to be very authentic and traditional with its programming based on Indian and Hindu culture. It was unlike anything I have ever experienced in the US (where I’m from). The main yoga styles practiced are Hatha and Ashtanga. I deeply appreciated the morning pranayama and chanting with Kapil! My room and accommodations were clean and comfortable. The daily meals were healthy and delicious. All the staff members were incredibly kind and attentive if I had any questions or needed help of any kind. I was fortunate enough to have a private sound healing training with Agnes during my stay. She worked with my busy schedule to make it happen! It was an unforgettable and special experience I will always cherish. Thank you to Yog Ram, Agnes, Shyam, and everyone else on staff for hosting me and teaching me so much during my time at the Ashram 🙏🏻

Jyotirgamaya Vatika is a guesthouse located 800 meters from the Swargashram Trust, offering both AC and non-AC rooms. The family running the guesthouse is known for their kindness and hospitality, ensuring guests feel comfortable during their stay. Surrounded by nature, the guesthouse provides a peaceful environment away from the main road, allowing for a good night's sleep.
I had an amazing stay at Jyotirgamaya. The family is extremely kind and helpful and does everything they can to make you feel comfortable. The guesthouse is surrounded by nature. You are able to see monkeys, peacocks, many different birds, butterflies etc.. It is very peaceful as it’s not close to the road, so you can have a very good night sleep. The guesthouse is beautiful, comfortable and clean. Also the location was perfect for me as it’s 10 minutes walk in either direction of the shops and restaurants/cafés. I highly recommend the stay in this guesthouse.
Elisa D — Google review
I had a wonderful stay at Jyotir Gamaya Vatika. Both times I stayed for an extended period of time (20 days). The house is clean, I had my own private bathroom. The family that runs the guest house is very sweet and accommodating. There’s a fridge, a water filter system, which is very convenient, a large sitting area and a rooftop where you can hang your laundry. This seems like a “not a big deal” thing but if you travel in India and do your own laundry it’s a huge bonus-having a place where you could quickly dry your clothes. I would definitely come back here again and highly recommend it.
Bhogi Y — Google review
Nice and clean and also very calm. Only thing is you need to climb with your luggage to reach hotel. Google map shows that road only. And please make sure about price. they charged us 800 per day but it was showing 700 per day in google and when we are checking out they were offering room @ 650 per day. But rooms and bathrooms are clean and good food.

I stayed at Jyotirgamaya Vatika for one month and loved everything about it—the place, the people, the staff, and the yoga hall. Everything was just wonderful. The location is very convenient: not too far from Ram Jhula, yet far enough from the noise and hustle of the city. I highly recommend this place!

Stayed here for a month in dec 2021 and I must say that it was some of the best time I have spent in Rishikesh. Very nice vibe, with the forest right at the back. This welcoming hermitage, located along the serene banks of the Ganges River and surrounded by majestic Himalayan peaks, offers free accommodation for up to 1,000 pilgrims at once. It serves as a sanctuary for travelers and those in need, providing a peaceful retreat dedicated to the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita.
Geeta Bhawan . Beautiful palce with all facilities.

Geeta bhavan ashram is very reputed and devotional staying option in Rishikesh where you will find good rooms in very reasonable rates also bhajan and satsang morning and evening. If you are with family and finding cheap , clean and place to stay near all ghats and market then this is best place to stay. Not for unmarried couples or group of boys and girls because there chekin policy is strict and they check proper aadhar card and relationship of all visiters also the doors of ashram open and close according to ashram time so late night comers will be in trouble if they stay here. Monkey also a issue here for that i give 4 star Rest for families and for devotional persons its very good option.👍

When visiting the Nepali Farm Circle, navigating public transport to Rishikesh is a breeze. You can hop on a shared autorickshaw from Nepali Farm to Triveni Ghat for just 30, but be wary of inflated prices aimed at tourists—stick to the fair! From Triveni Ghat, another rickshaw will take you to Tapovan for the same price.
Boarding and drop off point for many buses , food stalls ,auto and bike rentals nearby

Bus Stop for Delhi and Dehradun, near Rishikesh. No toilet Not drinking water not shades and not sitting waiting facilities from Local or State Government. But very busy due to global and regional Tourism
Usb1 — Google review
If you're heading to Nepali Farm and dealing with public transport to Rishikesh, the process is quite simple. You can take a shared autorickshaw from Nepali Farm for just ₹30 to Triveni Ghat. Be cautious, though, as they might try to charge you ₹50-₹100 since you're an outsider, but don't pay more than ₹30. For Tapovan, you can easily take another rickshaw from Triveni Ghat for just ₹30.
Yuviii — Google review
It's 12 kms from rishikesh city center. Can easily get share auto for 50-75 bucks. This is not an actual bus stop but merely a highway junction. Can get all privately run buses to various locations from here.
Animesh V — Google review
Bus driver will drop you near nepali farm flyover and from there you need to take another mode of transport for Rishikesh. Place is quite and you will not find many transport option durung night (after 11pm, because I travelled in night). So go with some or ask anyone in the bus and take a auto. It is wise to share because they charge 300 for 10 km or so. And it is highway (hope I am not wrong), you will find heavy vehicles, try to cross the bridge safely.

Very good experience the stay was very good at just a price of 500 all rooms are 500 only better stay than gurudwara must visit kabir ashram

I stayed at ashram in Rishikesh on June 27th with my family and was charged ₹2000 for an AC room. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The receptionist, Saini, was rude and shouted at me regarding the rent. When I requested a discount, citing the ashram's nature, he was uncooperative and insisted on cash payment. The place felt more like a commercial venture than a spiritual retreat, lacking arrangements like free food. I would caution others against visiting this ashram with their families.
Dheeraj K — Google review
I recently visited Kabir Chaura Ashram in Rishikesh with my family, but the experience was a letdown. Here's what went wrong: - Overpriced AC room (₹2000) - Rude receptionist (Saini) who shouted at me - Uncooperative staff unwilling to offer discounts - Cash payment insisted upon - Lack of spiritual retreat feel; no free food arrangements Given the issues, I'd advise others to think twice before visiting this ashram with their families.

Shut Down this. Wastage of Time and govt. Money. Private companies do a thousand times better — Blinkit delivers in 10 minutes, Swiggy/Zomato in 30 minutes, Flipkart in 1 day — but Virbhadra Post Office seems to have a unique model: first send the parcel on a world tour, then maybe deliver it month later.
