Uzbeki restaurant
When you find yourself in Tashkent, a visit to АRT Plov RESTAURANT is an absolute must for any food lover. This establishment celebrates the beloved national dish of Uzbekistan—plov. Known for its rich flavors and cultural significance, plov is a delightful one-pot meal made with fragrant rice, tender meat (often lamb or beef), vibrant carrots, onions, garlic, and a medley of spices like cumin and coriander.
We enjoyed everything we ordered. The highlights were the shashlik, somsa, and lagman. Our server was very attentive and the food came out pretty quickly. We didn't try the plov this time, but we could see it on other tables and it looked very good. Will go back to try.

Great food and service. My server also spoke English, which was a bonus.

first time in Tashkent and the most delicious pilaf I've ever tried. the arugula salad was also delicious and the flatbread was excellent

very cozy local plov restaurant, lovely home made fresh plov, perfect service, some staff had good english and were all very kind. they offered us a special tea after the meal and also they desserts selection was very good. i would definetely come back!
Ermina M — Google review
Great to experience Plov in a traditional setting. Tasty and at a very reasonable price.
Robert E — Google review
Great food and authentic uzbek dishes. The horse meat pulav tastes amazing. From the street, it looks more like a meat chop shop than a restaurant. So do not go here for the ambience, but for the food. They also have good selection of salads. Chicken, beef, lamb and horse is served as meat.
Subin M — Google review
I whish I could remember the name of the waitress that helped, because she was awesome. She accepted usd, which was all I had. She help navigate the menu as my translator wasn't working and select the vegetairan plates I wanted. The food tasted really good and the serving size was perfect.
Mark B — Google review
Really one of the most tasty “plov” you can try in Tashkent. I was here in a warm & windy night in the city on this beautiful street full of bars and restaurants. Waiters and owner were amazing, English speaking and the plov amazing . One place to try if you want to spend a dinner with tipical Uzbek food . Must try

Flea & Street Markets
Chorsu Bazaar is a bustling and historic market in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. It is renowned for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse offerings, including local foods, souvenirs, clothing, and household items. The market's iconic blue domes add to its charm. Established in the Middle Ages and expanded with 20th-century additions, Chorsu Bazaar remains a top destination for tourists seeking an authentic shopping experience and an opportunity to practice their bargaining skills.
Interesting place to get a glimpse into local life. Main hall has meats, cheeses, dried fruits, etc. Adjacent areas have fruits, herbs, clothing, etc. Plus there’s an area that has freshly prepared foods. Great place to spend a couple hours exploring.
James W — Google review
A very cool meat market, but it’s all the same. There’s an upstairs with dried fruits, spices, nuts and seeds. The sellers are very engaging and try to convince you to stop at every stand. Hygiene isn’t of huge concern, the smell of death is in the room and birds wander and poop right in the goods. I’ll label this one “authentic”.
Jonathan P — Google review
It's great that there are places like this that create and maintain the city's history and character. You can eat, shop, and simply observe the people and their lives. A must-see.
Kyrylo S — Google review
Excellent shopping district. There is everything. Even Souvenirs & cloths for tourists. Bargain hard & you will get a good price. Flowers, seeds, grocery, clothes, shoes, etc.
Waseem — Google review
I’ll be honest, blue dome looks amazing. But inside upon entering is meat and only meat. Outside much better so many options to explore like shop or eat food or clothes etc. get ready to give at least 2 hrs to see small part.
Vineet B — Google review
I really love this area. The the best place to eat and let your imagination take you to what happened right where your eating a thousand years ago. That spot was the very crossroads of the silk road..
Eden F — Google review
A very, very large market with an 800-year history—although the current building itself is only about 60 years old. But the market is far bigger than just the main structure. On the ground floor inside the building, you’ll find meat, dairy products, and other meat-based goods. The second floor is more earthy, offering spices, dried herbs, and nuts. Surrounding the central building in a circular layout is a massive market full of fruits, vegetables, and fresh produce. There’s an incredible abundance and variety at different price points. One challenge you may face as a tourist is that prices are usually not displayed on the goods. Many of the vendors also don’t speak English, which can make buying a bit tricky. The lack of clear pricing might give you a slight sense of insecurity—making you wonder if you’re being quoted a different price just because you’re a tourist. Still, overall, it’s a very exciting and fascinating experience. Be cautious with the dried fruit and nut sellers—they’re the most insistent and pushy, which gave me a sense of discomfort. The market is full of energy, movement, and life. It’s truly a sight to see. If you explore even further beyond the fresh produce area, you’ll find lots of beautiful handicrafts and souvenirs—and I’d say the prices here are cheaper than in Samarkand or Bukhara.too!
Matin D — Google review
Authentic place to see The sellers are but more aggressive than other places in Uzbekistan The prices are better than in Bukhara or Samarkand I did see two people throwing up there Birds are pooping into the goods so don’t buy stuff if you are very careful about hygiene

Uyghur cuisine restaurant
If you're on the hunt for authentic Uzbek cuisine, "Lagman & Manti by Sayyora" is a must-visit. Their Lagman stands out as it’s crafted entirely by hand, from the noodles to the rich sauce made with tender lamb or beef, bell peppers, garlic, onions, and fresh herbs. The labor-intensive process of making these noodles pays off in a delightful soup that bursts with flavor.

Family restaurant
Caravan is a popular restaurant in Tashkent known for its warm and friendly atmosphere and the presentation of Uzbek cuisine. It offers a wide range of international meals but is designed to favor national dishes, making it a favorite among the expat community. The restaurant's partially shaded courtyard and beautifully decorated rooms create an ambiance reminiscent of a Silk Road caravanserai, complete with Uzbek handicrafts.
Caravan is definitely worth a visit when you are in Tashkent! The decor and ambiance of the restaurant are stunning. Both the outside and inside seating areas are gorgeous and picture-worthy. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The food is delicious, we ordered the pita bread, Greek salad, flatbread with dip, somsa's and baklava. All was tasty. It is a bit on the pricier side, but the food is worth it!
Carlijn M — Google review
We had dinner here our last night in Uzbekistan and really enjoyed it. The outside courtyard area was very atmospheric. The service was good and the food was very good for the most part. Unfortunately they were out of plov but we had a number of other good dishes. The salad with charcoal cooked eggplant and other veg was particularly good. Lamb skewer a bit gristly but all other dishes were very good. Would definitely recommend.

Hidden gem… this is a must to visit. Atmospheres and ambient, decor were absolutely gorgeous. The food was amazingly sophisticated and tasty. The service provided by Jantas - it was excellent and he made my day. My last supper in Tashkent was unforgettable:)

Amazing restaurant and staff that took care of us and served us food promptly and happily. Very tourist friendly and has English menus and English speaking staff. Highly recommend the lamb dumplings

Visited in September 2025. Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 Tashkent. We stumbled upon Caravan on our guide’s recommendation, and it didn’t disappoint. The multi-story space is grand, with summer terraces and a wooden interior exuding Eastern elegance—apparently a favorite among celebrities, adding a touch of allure. FOOD: The restaurant specializes in Uzbek cuisine, and we came for the plov, available in two varieties: a festive “wedding” version and a leaner, steamed-rice option. Both were delightful, with tender, fluffy rice, sweet carrots, raisins, and meat, each with its own charm. The leaner version won us over with its varied meats and sweet accents like raisins, though both were excellent. The mini samsas were a highlight—flaky, crispy dough packed with a generous, juicy meat filling that didn’t skimp on flavor. The brisket, however, was a miss. Expecting a juicy, fatty, hosper-grilled cut, we got a dry, almost overcooked version reminiscent of basturma, though its smoky flavor added some charm. Complimentary salads and spreads were a nice touch, rounding out the meal. SERVICE: The service was friendly and welcoming, with dishes arriving fairly quickly. While not the most polished or efficient, the staff’s warmth made the experience pleasant enough. VERDICT: Caravan is a solid choice for traditional Uzbek cuisine, steeped in history and popular among tourists looking to experience local flavors. With its spacious, beautifully designed setting and tasty food, we left satisfied. It’s a great spot to showcase Uzbekistan’s culinary heritage, and we recommend it for a flavorful, atmospheric dining experience.
Olga M — Google review
Average food probably not better than what you can find in a supermarket. Lamb was awful: just skin, fat, ribs and a little layer of meat. The meat itself was dry and bad tasting. I have to confirm the other negative reviews: over-expensive and poor quality. Decadent environment... Btw, I got a dirty dish, as well the table cloth was stained.
Andrea D — Google review
The highlight is really the atmosphere here: the restaurant is beautiful and the live music is amazing. A great immersive experience for tourists. The food was ok, hit and miss dishes: -dolma 6/10 -samsa meat 5/10 (chewy lamb) -samsa potato 7/10 -Georgian Kinkalis 10/10 (amazing taste) -borscht 8/10 Caravan seems to be a chain as we had their food in the mountains also and seemingly they have a restaurant in Khiva also. Staff spoke English and were very professional. However, this was also our most expensive meal in a week across Uzbekistan, paid 470,000 UZS (27 GBP) for two. I recommend you sit in the garden outside rather than upstairs which has less atmosphere. Takes credit cards.
Nico M — Google review
Caravan Uzbek offers delicious traditional dishes with a cozy atmosphere. The food is authentic, portions are generous, and the service is friendly. A great spot to enjoy Uzbek cuisine in Tashkent.

Cafe 1991, located on Mustakillik Avenue in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, offers a delightful fusion of Central Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine. The restaurant boasts a diverse menu with an array of vegetable options and excellent service. Guests can savor Uzbek, Lebanese, and fusion dishes along with a variety of vegetarian and seafood choices. The ambiance is relaxing, featuring live music, non-smoking tables, outdoor seating, and a separate hookah room.
Easily the best food we had in Uzbekistan. Everything was delicious and the service was great. We ordered two eggplant dishes and the samsa. We also visited on a separate occasion and had some great cake. Expensive for Tashkent but a great dining experience.

This is a very high-end restaurant. Plov 170,000soʻm Beer(0.5l) 100,000soʻm (including all tax and service) You get to eat in a high-end setting that's hard to access on a regular basis, there's a wide selection of alcoholic drinks, and the staff are very efficient. I feel that these services and the atmosphere of the place are what increase its value. The portions are large quantity.
Daisuke S — Google review
It was the first day in Uzbekistan when we discovered this place while walking around. The food was really good and after eating in different cities, I can say that the best plov to my taste was here. Our waiter Nurillo and Muslim were both very good in terms of recommendations and serving.
Damla K — Google review
Food was decent not outstanding, but solid. Delicious eggplant salad and cauliflower. Nohat Shurak and Sea Bass were fine but a bit lackluster and flat. Price on higher end for Uzbek standards
PaulS — Google review
Nice service and delicious food! I really enjoyed the ambience. I ordered the fried lagman and pumpkin somsa, and before the food arrived, they served complimentary bread. Everything tasted great. I’ll definitely come back again. Highly recommended!

Really enjoyed this place. The atmosphere was nice and the music gave it a good vibe. The meze were tasty and the chicken shish was cooked well. Our waiter Axror was polite and attentive, which made the experience even better. Overall, a comfortable spot with good food. I’d come again.

Located opposite the city's circus, National Food is a unique restaurant that offers an authentic Uzbek dining experience. The sight of women in white overalls stirring large cauldrons of food outside the restaurant is a distinctive feature. Despite the language barrier with English, visitors are drawn to the traditional ambiance and local color. The menu features Uzbek national dishes such as hearty soups, shashliks, and traditional plov.
How I loved this restaurant! I went back several times. Large, no frills, popular with locals, a wide choice of real Uzbek food at very affordable prices. Their Achichuk salad contained the best tomatoes I've ever tasted. Their Lagman noodles became a real favourite with me. Great terrace too, for those who prefer outdoor seating.

A good place if you want to learn about food culture of Uzbekistan. Plov is one of the best i had in central asia

Authentic uzbek food can be found there. The shop sign only has its uzbek name and not National food, it was a bit hard to plot the maps to get to this place. Food served is delicious, lots of lamb based dishes. There is also horse salad for the adventurous.

FIRST DAY Food: I've ordered Samsa and Lamb Plov. They were good enough but not up to the high reputation of uzbek food Service: foreigners are being ignored, as others noticed. You have to shout at the waiters to receive a 10s precious attention SECOND DAY Food: I've ordered Koza Shorba, Assorti and Naan this time. Good enough again Service: knowing from previous day i've shouted to the waiter and he came immediately to make the order and the check

kind of an adventure, but a funny one: first of all, no ones speaks english. Second we askde fir a menu, but they didnt understand. So, we went outside to the preparation area and by imitating horse, cow and sheep sounds we could at least figure out, what kind of meat it was. We had a lot of fun with the waitress. In the end we ordered 2 times horse: BESHBARMAK noodle dough in broth topped with horse sausage - very salty, NARYN cold cut mini noodles mixed with horse - very yummy, mutton Soup- very intense, HALEEM wheat mixed with meat- looks like brown oatsmeals- slimy but very tasty. mixed something- potatoes, mutton, and shishkebap and finally a kind of tzatziki. We payed 240.000, it was very tasty, unusual, funny. So, if you go there, make sure, you know all the animal sounds or download an offline translator ;-)

Authentic Uzbek cuisine. Mostly meat based with only a few veggie salad options. The meat is certainly good quality and well flavoured. The outdoor seating area is great for people watching. Some of the staff members speak good English. No menu but can order by the food counter which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable.

Khiva Restaurant, located at the Hyatt Regency in Tashkent, offers a high-end dining experience with a terrace and a robust wine list. The restaurant is adorned with local art, traditional ceramics, and vibrant colors, creating a lively and casual atmosphere for diners. One of its main attractions is the char-grilled oven known as Kazan, Tandir, which produces freshly baked bread and authentic local dishes like plovs.
Hotel restaurant with mostly traditional Uzbek food. If there were other restaurant in walking distance I would go somewhere else. Reasonably good food, very good service and quiet relaxed atmosphere, but prices are double due to to hotel high ranking.

We recently dined at Khiva restaurant and had an enjoyable experience. The food was well-cooked and flavorful. The portion sizes were generous, which was a pleasant surprise. We tried the tikka, which was supposed to be spicy, but it wasn't as hot as we expected. However, that didn't take away from the overall quality and taste of the dish. We loved the food and would definitely consider returning for another meal.

We are UAEs Food Connoisseurs & Luxury Travel advisors, connect with us on Insta @vibrant_wanderer_rhythm Located at the Hyatt Regency Tashkent is the Uzbek restaurant Khiva Interior contemporary, wiz a wiz the traditional expectation one might have from the pics on social media. Service level , satisfactory. We tried the Vegetable Somsa, which is like the Indian samosa just baked and subtle in taste . Chicken tikka not an Uzbek dish but we craved something more spicy. However it wasn’t spicy. All in all 4/5 Hyatt doesn’t maintain hygienic facilities for the common / lobby areas. Guess that’s why we didn’t stay here. Enjoy.

I also came here with the rave reviews but found the food mediocre. The soup of the day was good and the portion sizes are large. The humus dip was bland but the local bread was really good (hard to go wrong though?). The lamb skewer was the real winner of the meal. The staff was super friendly, spoke great English and the atmosphere was really nice and professional. The terrace is nice for the evening.
Kristjana N — Google review
We came for lunch but we didn't expect the restaurant to be in Hyatt hotel (didn't check properly) Food was tasty, special mention to the cheesecake However we had to wait 45min to get the order whereas we were the only ones in the restaurant, in such a place with high price, it's not correct
Sarragozi A — Google review
The dinner at khiva was not upto Mark at all. We asked for soy honey stir fried beef. No honey in it. Asked for crispy potato pakora. No salt. Inside only batter n not cooked inside. Dissapointing for Hyatt hotel to hv such menu n chefs need training in different cuisine if you want to put on your menu. Service was good. Staff was eager to serve. The berry icecream was too good. The rates are higher compared to the outside.

The ambiance is relaxed and inviting, making it a perfect spot to unwind. The menu caters to all tastes with options ranging from meat and chicken to seafood and vegetarian dishes.
This was our first visit to a Lagman24. This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool. The menu offers varied options - meat, chicken, seafood & vegetarian. Our dinner absolutely delectable, tasteful, and it was served at a proper temperature. Big portion, fast service and reasonable price. Staff well trained but speak very little English. (Translated by Google) Hello, today we decided to have lunch in Riviera at Lagman 24. We ordered 4 items: 1. Manti with meat and with zhusai, they served it cold. 2. Kuksi, this is a whole other story, the kuksi broth was sweet like sweet tea, the meat was apparently fried yesterday at 5 am, and for some reason with the addition of cumin. 3. Salad "Lansai" - funchose was wooden with an incomprehensible smell, apparently they cooked the same way yesterday at 5 am. 4. Dzhusairu for some reason everything was overcooked and not fresh. This is both about the food and the staff, the cashier for some reason does not have the etiquette skills to communicate with customers, and the staff in the kitchen is apparently too tired to cook deliciously.

Uzbeki restaurant
Afsona is a delightful culinary gem that offers an array of mouthwatering dishes, making it a must-visit for food enthusiasts. The restaurant features a spacious children's playground and hosts vibrant weekend shows filled with fun activities and competitions for kids, ensuring family-friendly entertainment. With a diverse menu that includes fast food options like pizzas alongside traditional favorites such as osh, somsa, and shashleek, there's something to satisfy every palate. The service is quick and attentive, making your dining experience enjoyable.
Osh is always good. They’ll give you some spicy peppers to kick it up a notch if you ask. Workers are friendly. Some reviews look like they are reviewing a figurine restaurant. This place is a small cafe. No playground. No French fries. Just osh, somsa, and shashleek.

I ordered food from their menu but they brought me something different , fries that comes with it was too old, beef was dry and hard to eat. Prices are very high 👎I don’t recommend
Yulduz Y — Google review
Inexperienced waiters (one forgot to bring our ordered French fries; he forgot that he's was serving us, etc); not fresh meals, undercooked meals... Can't recommend it...
Nasibakhon A — Google review
Other reviews say food is good . However I will avoid anywhere with tourist buses literally parked outside - and massive tourist groups inside.

(Translated by Google) A very mixed impression... after a long break. Previously, the children's playground was in the basement, but now it is located on the 2nd floor, where, as I understand it, there was a celebration hall. For me, the general atmosphere in the room was a little uncomfortable. My wife praised the kitchen! But the children's area has increased significantly, and now it is not just a playground, but an entire multi-level structure.

Every weekend there is a large children's show program with animators and competitions for children. Fast and competent service. Mass children's events can be held. (Original) Очень вкусная кухня. Asian restaurant
If you're on a culinary adventure through Central Asia, you simply cannot miss trying Uyghur Lagman. This beloved dish hails from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and western China and features hand-pulled noodles that are delightfully chewy. The dish is typically prepared with tender lamb or beef and a colorful medley of vegetables like celery, onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, and Chinese cabbage.
We ordered so many times online from here. Guyru layman is the best! Very authentic. Good portion. I will not forget the tase. Highly recommend.

We were expecting more, food was ok, nothing special. Don’t drive there to waste your time. Service was good though. Atmosphere is a long story, restrooms are awful, besides it’s an old style, there is no sink to wash your hands or toilet paper. Overall don’t go there,

(Translated by Google) Very tasty Uyghur cuisine. This is my second time in Uzbekistan, I have visited different cafes and restaurants, and the food here is the most delicious so far. The freshest and most tender lamb, warm service and friendly owner. And all this for quite modest prices. Tukhum sai and khoshan are simply amazing.
