Flea & Street Markets
Chorsu Bazaar is a bustling and historic market in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. It is renowned for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse offerings, including local foods, souvenirs, clothing, and household items. The market's iconic blue domes add to its charm. Established in the Middle Ages and expanded with 20th-century additions, Chorsu Bazaar remains a top destination for tourists seeking an authentic shopping experience and an opportunity to practice their bargaining skills.
Interesting place to get a glimpse into local life. Main hall has meats, cheeses, dried fruits, etc. Adjacent areas have fruits, herbs, clothing, etc. Plus there’s an area that has freshly prepared foods. Great place to spend a couple hours exploring.
James W — Google review
A very cool meat market, but it’s all the same. There’s an upstairs with dried fruits, spices, nuts and seeds. The sellers are very engaging and try to convince you to stop at every stand. Hygiene isn’t of huge concern, the smell of death is in the room and birds wander and poop right in the goods. I’ll label this one “authentic”.
Jonathan P — Google review
It's great that there are places like this that create and maintain the city's history and character. You can eat, shop, and simply observe the people and their lives. A must-see.
Kyrylo S — Google review
Excellent shopping district. There is everything. Even Souvenirs & cloths for tourists. Bargain hard & you will get a good price. Flowers, seeds, grocery, clothes, shoes, etc.
Waseem — Google review
I’ll be honest, blue dome looks amazing. But inside upon entering is meat and only meat. Outside much better so many options to explore like shop or eat food or clothes etc. get ready to give at least 2 hrs to see small part.
Vineet B — Google review
I really love this area. The the best place to eat and let your imagination take you to what happened right where your eating a thousand years ago. That spot was the very crossroads of the silk road..
Eden F — Google review
A very, very large market with an 800-year history—although the current building itself is only about 60 years old. But the market is far bigger than just the main structure. On the ground floor inside the building, you’ll find meat, dairy products, and other meat-based goods. The second floor is more earthy, offering spices, dried herbs, and nuts. Surrounding the central building in a circular layout is a massive market full of fruits, vegetables, and fresh produce. There’s an incredible abundance and variety at different price points. One challenge you may face as a tourist is that prices are usually not displayed on the goods. Many of the vendors also don’t speak English, which can make buying a bit tricky. The lack of clear pricing might give you a slight sense of insecurity—making you wonder if you’re being quoted a different price just because you’re a tourist. Still, overall, it’s a very exciting and fascinating experience. Be cautious with the dried fruit and nut sellers—they’re the most insistent and pushy, which gave me a sense of discomfort. The market is full of energy, movement, and life. It’s truly a sight to see. If you explore even further beyond the fresh produce area, you’ll find lots of beautiful handicrafts and souvenirs—and I’d say the prices here are cheaper than in Samarkand or Bukhara.too!
Matin D — Google review
Authentic place to see The sellers are but more aggressive than other places in Uzbekistan The prices are better than in Bukhara or Samarkand I did see two people throwing up there Birds are pooping into the goods so don’t buy stuff if you are very careful about hygiene

Family restaurant
Caravan is a popular restaurant in Tashkent known for its warm and friendly atmosphere and the presentation of Uzbek cuisine. It offers a wide range of international meals but is designed to favor national dishes, making it a favorite among the expat community. The restaurant's partially shaded courtyard and beautifully decorated rooms create an ambiance reminiscent of a Silk Road caravanserai, complete with Uzbek handicrafts.
Caravan is definitely worth a visit when you are in Tashkent! The decor and ambiance of the restaurant are stunning. Both the outside and inside seating areas are gorgeous and picture-worthy. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The food is delicious, we ordered the pita bread, Greek salad, flatbread with dip, somsa's and baklava. All was tasty. It is a bit on the pricier side, but the food is worth it!
Carlijn M — Google review
We had dinner here our last night in Uzbekistan and really enjoyed it. The outside courtyard area was very atmospheric. The service was good and the food was very good for the most part. Unfortunately they were out of plov but we had a number of other good dishes. The salad with charcoal cooked eggplant and other veg was particularly good. Lamb skewer a bit gristly but all other dishes were very good. Would definitely recommend.
Denise M — Google review
Hidden gem… this is a must to visit. Atmospheres and ambient, decor were absolutely gorgeous. The food was amazingly sophisticated and tasty. The service provided by Jantas - it was excellent and he made my day. My last supper in Tashkent was unforgettable:)

Amazing restaurant and staff that took care of us and served us food promptly and happily. Very tourist friendly and has English menus and English speaking staff. Highly recommend the lamb dumplings
M. A — Google review
Visited in September 2025. Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 Tashkent. We stumbled upon Caravan on our guide’s recommendation, and it didn’t disappoint. The multi-story space is grand, with summer terraces and a wooden interior exuding Eastern elegance—apparently a favorite among celebrities, adding a touch of allure. FOOD: The restaurant specializes in Uzbek cuisine, and we came for the plov, available in two varieties: a festive “wedding” version and a leaner, steamed-rice option. Both were delightful, with tender, fluffy rice, sweet carrots, raisins, and meat, each with its own charm. The leaner version won us over with its varied meats and sweet accents like raisins, though both were excellent. The mini samsas were a highlight—flaky, crispy dough packed with a generous, juicy meat filling that didn’t skimp on flavor. The brisket, however, was a miss. Expecting a juicy, fatty, hosper-grilled cut, we got a dry, almost overcooked version reminiscent of basturma, though its smoky flavor added some charm. Complimentary salads and spreads were a nice touch, rounding out the meal. SERVICE: The service was friendly and welcoming, with dishes arriving fairly quickly. While not the most polished or efficient, the staff’s warmth made the experience pleasant enough. VERDICT: Caravan is a solid choice for traditional Uzbek cuisine, steeped in history and popular among tourists looking to experience local flavors. With its spacious, beautifully designed setting and tasty food, we left satisfied. It’s a great spot to showcase Uzbekistan’s culinary heritage, and we recommend it for a flavorful, atmospheric dining experience.
Olga M — Google review
Average food probably not better than what you can find in a supermarket. Lamb was awful: just skin, fat, ribs and a little layer of meat. The meat itself was dry and bad tasting. I have to confirm the other negative reviews: over-expensive and poor quality. Decadent environment... Btw, I got a dirty dish, as well the table cloth was stained.
Andrea D — Google review
The highlight is really the atmosphere here: the restaurant is beautiful and the live music is amazing. A great immersive experience for tourists. The food was ok, hit and miss dishes: -dolma 6/10 -samsa meat 5/10 (chewy lamb) -samsa potato 7/10 -Georgian Kinkalis 10/10 (amazing taste) -borscht 8/10 Caravan seems to be a chain as we had their food in the mountains also and seemingly they have a restaurant in Khiva also. Staff spoke English and were very professional. However, this was also our most expensive meal in a week across Uzbekistan, paid 470,000 UZS (27 GBP) for two. I recommend you sit in the garden outside rather than upstairs which has less atmosphere. Takes credit cards.
Nico M — Google review
Caravan Uzbek offers delicious traditional dishes with a cozy atmosphere. The food is authentic, portions are generous, and the service is friendly. A great spot to enjoy Uzbek cuisine in Tashkent.

Located opposite the city's circus, National Food is a unique restaurant that offers an authentic Uzbek dining experience. The sight of women in white overalls stirring large cauldrons of food outside the restaurant is a distinctive feature. Despite the language barrier with English, visitors are drawn to the traditional ambiance and local color. The menu features Uzbek national dishes such as hearty soups, shashliks, and traditional plov.
How I loved this restaurant! I went back several times. Large, no frills, popular with locals, a wide choice of real Uzbek food at very affordable prices. Their Achichuk salad contained the best tomatoes I've ever tasted. Their Lagman noodles became a real favourite with me. Great terrace too, for those who prefer outdoor seating.

A good place if you want to learn about food culture of Uzbekistan. Plov is one of the best i had in central asia

Authentic uzbek food can be found there. The shop sign only has its uzbek name and not National food, it was a bit hard to plot the maps to get to this place. Food served is delicious, lots of lamb based dishes. There is also horse salad for the adventurous.

FIRST DAY Food: I've ordered Samsa and Lamb Plov. They were good enough but not up to the high reputation of uzbek food Service: foreigners are being ignored, as others noticed. You have to shout at the waiters to receive a 10s precious attention SECOND DAY Food: I've ordered Koza Shorba, Assorti and Naan this time. Good enough again Service: knowing from previous day i've shouted to the waiter and he came immediately to make the order and the check

kind of an adventure, but a funny one: first of all, no ones speaks english. Second we askde fir a menu, but they didnt understand. So, we went outside to the preparation area and by imitating horse, cow and sheep sounds we could at least figure out, what kind of meat it was. We had a lot of fun with the waitress. In the end we ordered 2 times horse: BESHBARMAK noodle dough in broth topped with horse sausage - very salty, NARYN cold cut mini noodles mixed with horse - very yummy, mutton Soup- very intense, HALEEM wheat mixed with meat- looks like brown oatsmeals- slimy but very tasty. mixed something- potatoes, mutton, and shishkebap and finally a kind of tzatziki. We payed 240.000, it was very tasty, unusual, funny. So, if you go there, make sure, you know all the animal sounds or download an offline translator ;-)

Genuine and authentic uzbek food, with a nice assortment of different dishes. With very generous portions. Very friendly environment and huge thanks for the staff for doing their best to explain me all the buffet offer.
Caius B — Google review
Authentic Uzbek cuisine. Mostly meat based with only a few veggie salad options. The meat is certainly good quality and well flavoured. The outdoor seating area is great for people watching. Some of the staff members speak good English. No menu but can order by the food counter which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable.

Jumanji is a charming restaurant located in Tashkent, offering a delightful fusion cuisine that combines Oriental and European traditions. The ambiance is cozy and relaxing, with soft lighting, painted walls, and comfortable furniture. The restaurant's design draws inspiration from the jungle, featuring glass doors and windows that provide views of lush vegetation outside. The interior is adorned with bamboo chairs and tables to enhance the jungle-inspired atmosphere.
We've been trying out various restaurants for dinner this last few days, and decided to try Jumanji today. The first step inside itself was a clear indication that this place was exceptional! Beautifully laid out tables, a cozy interior, welcoming staff, the overall ambiance was amazing. To top it off, the menu that they placed on the table was very heavy, both in weight as well as in quality and quantity. I was stunned by the variety of dishes that they provided. We tried five of them, and each one was better than the other. The place is a little bit pricey but worth the money and time spent!
Ryan V — Google review
One of the best restaurants in Tashkent Mirobad.. recommend. Premium atmosphere and great food
Tashkent D — Google review
Jumanji – is one of the oldest and few restaurants in Tashkent that offer and keep on high level delicious meals. We had good lunch here and we loved it. I haven’t been here for years, but there were many people inside for lunch during the weekday, i.e. it is still very popular. Though I would say that it would be good to have some renovations.. Looks too old and worn out, the atmosphere of the 90ies… However, the meals are excellent, so if having delicious food is all you need, then come straight here.
Shukhrat U — Google review
Jumanji is one of Tashkent’s longest-standing restaurants, with over 20 years of history. The menu is massive—practically a tome—featuring a wide-ranging mix of international, Uzbek, Chinese, and Japanese dishes, including sushi and sashimi. The food itself is average and not particularly memorable, but the real draw is the lively atmosphere. Expect a festive crowd, with singing, celebrations, and plenty of merriment. Smoking is allowed indoors, which may be a downside for some. Come for the vibes, not the cuisine.
Lawrence H — Google review
Really fancy restaurant with quite fancy prices but not outrageous. However, the portions are absolutely massive. Every single dish that came out was for 2 people (at least), even the salad was for 3 people to eat properly. The 20% service is on the menu so we were aware but it's way too high a fee. They have a whole vegetarian section and lots of vegi options. Food was delicious and service good. The menu is also absolutely gigantic. Spoilt for choice and also a beautiful live piano player
Nadia — Google review
Pretty good all-round fusion cuisine restaurant, primarily Chinese stir fry, with an extensive menu and good value food and drinks. Live music was good, but the crackly speakers in the restaurant weren't great. Would likely return.
Steven A — Google review
Very good food, huge selection of dishes to choose from the english menu. The service was the best we had in uzbekistan! It was the first time that we had a smiling waiter in Uzbekistan, his name was Elnur. The prices were a bit high but worth it.
Patrick S — Google review
Food is delicious. But: It is very noisy inside, and even the non-smoking area is... Smokey! And the most important, i dont know if this is common in Uzbek restaurants or it's a method for scamming tourists, but they charge 20% service fee.. and the service was average at best. Even if they do, i think it should be announced beforehand. And if it's a scam technique, well you will only get those 10eur once, and we are anyhow not coming back :) In the end we payed close to 600thsd for 2 dishes and 2 glasses of juice... NOT recommended

Gruzinskiy Dvorik, also known as Georgian Yard, is a popular restaurant in Tashkent offering a warm welcome and a taste of authentic Georgian cuisine. The interior is adorned with artwork by renowned artists Niko Pirosmanishvile and Lado Gudiashvili.
Honestly I could not have had a better meal or time at Gruzinski Dvorik. It was on my list of places to visit in Tashkent and it didn't disappoint. HUGE portions and very attentive staff. The music was great as well. And on the way out, while i was waiting for my uber, the manager insisted I have a drink of some local liquor with him. Which was delicious and fragrant. Would definitely come again. Fantastic vibe.

I ordered four different dishes, and each was excellent. I also enjoyed the Georgian wine. The price was acceptable as well.

5/22/2022 - Nice ambience, nice staff, great food, their house red wine was hearty and felt solid. Over all a different taste than the other Uzbek food, I would whole heartedly recommend, I am not sure if the food was over priced, it felt regular and top quality. Check the pictures, language is a barrier for me but all the dishes that I have shown were authentic and fantastic.
Ivan J — Google review
Everything was good. Waiter service was perfect . It could have 5 stars, if the price was acceptable for an average citizen of Uzbekistan. But if you don't have any problems with money, you can visit this location with your friends, family and so on. I have been visiting this place for a long time, even birthdays of my family members we try to visit this restaurant.

City Grill in Tashkent, Uzbekistan is renowned for its succulent steaks and grilled dishes. The restaurant boasts a modern and stylish ambiance with a cozy and elegant interior design. Located in the city center, City Grill offers an exceptional dining experience with luxurious surroundings, mouthwatering food, and impeccable service. Guests can enjoy a variety of dishes including the famous "City Grill" steak, Grilled Walleye, and Vegetable cream soup.
Everything was really good! The food, the service, was perfect. They knew how to cook the meat the way you asked, unlike some places and had some high quality meat. My only question is why is half the restaurant a smoking side in a country with a small number of smokers on the world scale. We got lucky that we were first and finished our meal before the smokers arrived but could have ruined our meal. An invisible wall doesn't stop smoke!

Nice steak restaurant . Staff speaks English and some good wine options - we had the 770 miles Zinfandel and we both liked our steaks and sides - grilled corn, eggplant salad and new potatoes
Philip G — Google review
Expensive, delicious, great atmosphere, and very clean. The only downside — food comes out extremely slowly ^^… Maybe that’s just the usual pace in Uzbekistan? 🫠 The pasta came out first, and the steak followed about 20 minutes later. It took nearly 40 minutes in total for the steak to arrive! But wow — the pasta texture was perfect, truly the best al dente I’ve ever had! 👏 Also, note that there’s a 20% service fee added to the bill. Keep that in mind when budgeting your meal! 💸

If you're on the hunt for authentic Uzbek cuisine, "Lagman & Manti by Sayyora" is a must-visit. Their Lagman stands out as it’s crafted entirely by hand, from the noodles to the rich sauce made with tender lamb or beef, bell peppers, garlic, onions, and fresh herbs. The labor-intensive process of making these noodles pays off in a delightful soup that bursts with flavor.

Yapona Mama is a japanese restaurant that offers fresh, good food and fast service. The place is small, but the quality of the sushi is excellent. One downside to this restaurant is that the soy sauce was very poor and watery.
Definitely well worth a try. They have some unique rolls, and give you enough sides to enjoy your sushi delivery to the fullest. Of course it is not gourmet sushi, this is a chain restaurant after all, so just set your expectations right and you should enjoy it.
MUSTAFA K — Google review
Food is good but they must be more informative about timing. On the google map, it's mentioned that they are open till 10pm. We have arrived at 9:30 pm. And we got refused to enter. And asked to leave. But at least they've agreed to sell the food with us as a "takeaway". Suggestion to manager: must correct the closing timing till 9 pm. Since there's no point to come here after that...

The food is good and not your standard sushi, but more fun and at a good price. The waiter that we had was very patient with us (english speakers) and another person working (maybe manager?) helped us call a yandex since we did not have service to do so. Super kind staff, a relief to confused english speakers :)

If you never eat sushi before then its tasty ones. It's really far from real sushi, but its fresh, good and fast service and delivery. As it's not usual food for Uzbekistan its consider to be good)). The only complane is Soy sauce. It was very bad, watery and very sweet.

Delicious Turkish Restaurant in Tashkent. Eggplant salads is a must try dish: crispy on the 1st bite but soft afterwards, with a nice sweet flavour at the beginning and ending with some spicy twist. Trilece fistiki and soguk baklava were also of another World 🤤. Do not miss it if you visit Tashkent!

Nice atmosphere, especially for family and friend. Service is super nice (but waiting time is a little bit long). Prices are more expencive than usual restaurants (I would say it's luxury restaurant). Food is turkish food, but taste did not meet my expectations.

I've had an amazing experience at your restaurant. We've been here for the first time. We're very happy about choosing this restaurant. Beside the thing that the food very delicious , we had an awesome experience with Ilxomjon Aka. His serving is excellent. We'll come back for sure.

My family took me there another day for dinner. I was very surprized and amazed of the place, food, staff, and extra amenities (playground for the kids). I felt like I was in one of the Sultan's Palace being treated like an honored guest. It's not easy to describe all the experience so please visit this place and see it on your own. You won't regret. Thank you for everything, Bosphorus Qirasaroy.
