The Black Dog Tavern is a popular spot located on the Vineyard Haven harborfront, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere with both terrace and wood-paneled interior seating. Whether you visit in the summer or winter, this tavern serves classic meals, beer, and cocktails. The menu features favorites like quahog chowder, fish and chips, chicken potpie, clams casino, grilled swordfish, bacon-wrapped meatloaf, and lobster night on Fridays.
My daughter and I really enjoyed dining here after lots of walking on the Vineyard. We loved the New England, tavern-style ambience and the delightful view of the ships on the harbor. We decided to get the mac and cheese and found it to be incredibly delicious—comfort food after a long day of sight-seeing, what a treat! I would say there is limited seating (more tables for 2 or 4) and I would imagine it’s very busy in the summer months, but we were off-season so we got a table immediately. Thanks again for a great experience!

I brought my family here for lunch for nostalgia as they’d never been & have heard me speak of the Black Dog for many years. Unfortunately it was during the 1st heat wave of the year. Hoping to catch some relief from the heat when we went inside, we were very disappointed to find they had all the windows open and no air conditioning on. I was literally sweating from head to toe. No breeze today. Not even a fan for some relief for those sitting by the opened windows. The waitress was very polite and professional. Her speed was appreciated. We ordered the Cobb Salad with Grilled Chicken, the Shrimp Fra Diavolo, and they special-made a Grilled Cheese sandwich. The food was served in small portion size. The shrimp pasta was a bit spicy for my hubby, but he did eat the whole thing. I would have liked more greens on my plate but it was delicious. My daughter thought the Grilled cheese and sides were delicious. We found we were still hungry only a couple hours afterwards. I believe they’re overpriced for what we received; mainly paying for the brand rather than the food. We probably won’t be returning and really don’t recommend if you’re really hungry.
Vicky P — Google review
Huge portions, great views, very cool vibe inside. It’s an iconic brand. The food was amazing as well. We had breakfast. Possibly the best pancakes I’ve ever had. If not, top two. Huge portions for the price. Great flavors too! Service was excellent. Go early!!!! We were there on off season and was packed after 8am. Not a lot of parking either. Must be a mad house in the busy season.
Charlie M — Google review
Tried to stop in around noon and were told they were only serving a “mezze” menu and lunch started at 12:30 which was confusingly communicated by the hostess and in an unfriendly way. Not to worry though We grabbed some snacks, coffee, and shopped a bit at all the other Black Dog spots until we were able to be seated at 12:30 with a bunch of other families who were all also waiting to eat. Atmosphere inside is great and you can’t beat the nostalgia factor. Crab spinach and artichoke dip was incredibly good. The lobster rolls were the best we’ve had yet in the Cape Cod area (although the coleslaw left something to be desired). Caesar salad was pretty standard and the crab cakes were just ok. The sauce and corn was good but the crab cakes were too thin and too fried for my taste. The presentation also could use some work. Other than the service not being the greatest and the unkind hostess, we had a lovely time with beautiful views and tasty food!
Sarah R — Google review
We go every time we're on the Vineyard, and it's hard to beat for its food, location and atmosphere. very good clam chowder, and the fried calamari with a garlic butter dipping sauce was delicious. (I was halfway through when I decided to take a photo.)
Thano S — Google review
Soup looked delicious and the calamari was great. Loved the fried peppers mixed through it. The fish & chips were okay. Our server was amazing and you can’t beat eating basically on the water.
Samantha H — Google review
We had a great meal here. Food was excellent, better than expected and the service was good too. Bit pricey but that was expected.
Audrie V — Google review
Outstanding crab/spinach/artichoke dip. The clam chowder was also very tasty. Service was a bit on the slow side. The merchandise shops didn't have a T-shirt or polo in my size, so I went without. All I got was blank looks when I asked them to call a taxi to get back to the ferry.

Back Door Donuts is a popular spot on Martha's Vineyard, MA, known for its freshly baked pastries. The bakery operates as a speakeasy-like venue at night, offering just-baked donuts from 7:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. during the summer season. Locals and visitors alike line up for these delicious treats, especially the substantial apple fritters that are particularly satisfying in the evening hours.
"Back Door" is where you have to go to get your donut from 7pm-12am. During the day (8 am-2 pm), you go to the front door. We were there before 7 pm, and a line started to form. They opened the back door and started taking orders. Apple Fritter ($8.43) is delicious and big enough for two. Cinnamon Roll ($6.36). Other donuts range between $2.50 & $4.00 and they're all hot & delicious. Friendly and welcoming staff.
Abi M — Google review
Worst donuts I have ever eaten. The apple fritter was just ok better than the donuts. Coffee too was below average. Selling donuts from the backdoor is just a selling gimmick. Must say good strategy to sell very underrated donuts
Samina Q — Google review
Walked here for a late night donut craving. Luckily the line was short but they were out several of the most popular flavors, although they still had apple fritters. This spot is literally operated out of the back door of the business, inside of the parking lot. It's nothing fancy but it's definitely a cool vibe and a novel idea. Flavors we tried: Honey dipped, cinnamon, buttermilk and the infamous apple fritter. The honey dipped tasted like a regular glazed donut - nothing unique. The cinnamon was good, and so was the buttermilk. The apple fritter received good reviews. I plan to return to try other flavors. Overall everything was good and I recommend this place.
Miss W — Google review
Fresh, Fun, and Delicious! We stopped by Backdoor Donuts one morning to try them fresh, and it was absolutely worth it. We ordered a dozen donuts to get a good variety, plus added two apple fritters and a danish to round things out. Every bite was tasty, soft, and flavorful, but the apple fritters really stood out—warm, perfectly spiced, and generously portioned. It was such a fun and memorable experience, and you can really tell these are made fresh with care. Whether you’re looking for a sweet morning treat or just want to experience a Martha’s Vineyard staple, this is a spot not to miss. We’ll definitely be back for more fritters and donuts next time!
Tisha B — Google review
Yeah, I’m fritters were awesome. Big chunks of apple and the glaze was outstanding. We also got the cinnamon donuts which were just like com Back in New Jersey which were soft get crispy on the outside. Absolutely delicious highly highly highly recommended.

Go here! Coconut chocolate doughnut is amazing. The Old Fashioned donut was good. This place had a line and was worth it. They are heavy so make sure you save room. Everything is fresh. They have coffee too but was already had coffee somewhere else. Tell em Barsnobs sent ya
Barsnobs — Google review
Apple fritter was warm and good but very soggy/heavy with oil. Honey dipped donut was pretty good, nothing special
Expert R — Google review
Hot, huge, fresh baked apple filled fritters are # 1! Absolutely the best we’ve had. I wish Back Door Donuts was in Florida! The photo shows the bottom side of the fritter. It was larger than our hand.

Brewpub

Offshore Ale Co is a popular brewery and restaurant located in the heart of Oak Bluffs on Circuit Avenue. They offer a variety of house-brewed seasonal and year-round beers, along with a menu featuring wood-fired pizzas, burgers, and other casual pub grub. It's a great spot to relax with friends and family while enjoying their handcrafted drinks.
We went for an early dinner when it wasn't too busy. Prices were reasonable. Food was excellent!! Great selection of IPAs and other alcoholic drinks. Thoroughly enjoyed everything about the experience. Will visit again.
Mary P — Google review
I got the Portuguese Seafood Stew and was so impressed with the broth flavor and the amount of seafood in it! I normally don’t love muscles and there was none of the dark gamey flavor I usually dislike. The beer and cocktail selection was pretty good as well and the old copper beer tanks inside gave the place a historic feel. I would not recommend the red ale, it was a bit thematic with the red food coloring but everything else was great 😂
Jennifer I — Google review
Lively atmosphere with attentive staff. The food was fresh and tasty. The pub is great and has wonderful drinks! Pizzas are good and made to order.
Susan M — Google review
We enjoyed our meal at Offshore Ale Co so much we came back for a second visit during our time in Martha’s Vineyard! Jovana was outstanding and made great drink recommendations and provided excellent service. The atmosphere was inviting and felt like visiting a local spot.
Julie D — Google review
We needed to kill 4 hours before our ferry. It was rainy and gloomy. And somehow we had the best moments of our trip hunkered down at Offshore Ale House enjoying the best bowl of chili we’d ever had, some great beers, delicious ribs and a salad. Great staff, great pub atmosphere, and surprisingly good food.
Pierce C — Google review
We stopped by on our walk around Oak Bluffs. We ate outside on the patio. The fish and chips with Cole slaw and fries were delicious. We.also had some delicious oysters 5 stars.
Allan S — Google review
The food was fresh & delicious! Best fish & chips ever! Great gluten free pizza as well. Our waitress was wonderful.
Julie K — Google review
Really good food, and drinks. My daughter and I had a regular cheese pie, and my wife had the chicken sandwich with bbq sauce, cheese, cole slaw and pickles. Topped off white wine and a drunken pumpkin ale, which consists of pumpkin ale with a shot of creamy vodka with a cinnamon sugar rim. If you're visiting or a local, it's worth a visit.

American restaurant
Restaurant
Detente is a charming and romantic restaurant located on Marthas Vineyard, owned by the husband-and-wife team Kevin and Suzanna Crowell. The name "Detente" means relaxation and good relations in French, which perfectly captures the atmosphere of this cozy venue. The restaurant offers a delectable menu featuring contemporary American dishes with French and Italian influences. With a warm ambiance and attentive service, Detente provides an ideal setting for a memorable dining experience.
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Détente during our trip to Martha’s Vineyard. It was a flawless experience from start to finish. Truly fine dining at its best with exceptional service and unforgettable food. We enjoyed our meal outside on their patio. To start, we shared the lobster risotto and the peach salad (a special the night we dined in July), both beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. For our entrées, I had the pan seared halibut. It was perfectly cooked and full of vibrant summer flavors! I loved it. My husband throughly enjoyed the pork rib chop al pastor, which was juicy and flavorful. We ended the evening with their bread pudding, the perfect sweet finish to an outstanding meal. Highly recommend for a special occasion or any night you want to treat yourself to an exceptional dining experience.
Jackie L — Google review
I was able to visit Detente while on the Vineyard and I was most happy I did. The service was quite good and the meal was excellent. The mocktails were quite good and expertly mixed. I can highly recommend Detente and will be happy to enjoy a meal here again.
Paul M — Google review
On a beautiful night we visited Detente and were seated in the lovely courtyard. Every dish was an incredible and inventive mix of flavors, beautifully presented. The recommended wines we ordered were amazing, perfectly complimenting each course. And the service was also fantastic. Attentive and knowledgeable. If I am ever back on the Vineyard, I will make sure to return to Detente...
Kimberly H — Google review
Detente is BY FAR one of THE BEST RESTAURANTS on Martha's Vineyard and one of the best I've been to the world over. It is such a culinary delight: the innovative flavor combinations, the textures... OMG! Amazing every time! Great for foodies. Try the tasting menu with wine pairing! I'm sure you will love it too. And like me, I'll bet you will find yourself returning again and again. This family-owned and operated dining establishment is a local blessing. Truly!
Constance M — Google review
I’ve eaten at Detente consistently over many years, it’s probably my favorite restaurant on Martha’s Vineyard. It’s a little hidden away, so many folks aren’t aware it’s still a convenient option in town. It’s a wonderful combination of great food, a professional staff and good wine list. For Martha’s Vineyard the prices aren’t bad, particularly given the quality. They have both indoor and outdoor seating but it is a seasonal restaurant. A very solid option for either seafood or beef. Highly recommend by both my wife and I.
John A — Google review
Unfortunately, we had quite the unpleasant experience at Detente this evening. Seeking a fine dining option in MV to celebrate my MILs birthday, we chose Detente after reviewing their menu online. At the time of booking through OpenTable, we were informed there would be a $25 pp + tax cancellation fee imposed by the restaurant should we cancel, so we made sure we found food items on the menu posted online to ensure this was something we wanted to eat. The only time available online was 5:30, which is when they opened, and they sat us at an outdoor table despite us requesting indoor. We were informed by the front desk that the restaurant was “fully booked”, and our request for indoor seating couldn’t be accommodated since they pre-select tables for the registered guests. The restaurant remained more than half empty the entire time we were there, and the menu posted on their website was not what was offered at the restaurant. When I asked our server the reason for this, the server stated the online menu was “outdated”- not helpful for us being out of town and relying on the published menu to make our reservation. We found other items on the limited options offered, and my husband ordered a ribeye cooked medium-rare. The first steak was brought to the table well-done, so we sent it back. The second time the steak came it was cooked to medium temperature, so we requested the manager to come to our table. Susanna came and stated that to her, the steak was fine, and when I explained the misprinted online menu and request for inside service, she stated that the context I gave was “a lot to unpack”. She was extremely unprofessional, but did offer to remove the steak from our bill. I would not recommend this restaurant to those familiar with and expecting a fine dining experience. Drinks- mediocre, lobster risotto- overcooked, cod- decent. Seek options elsewhere.
Ariel G — Google review
Our expectations were set high but we were underwhelmed with the overall experience for the price. Cocktails were unbalanced and not drinkable. The music selection was odd. Our main issue was the lack of contrasting textures and balance of flavors in the dishes: the appetizer pasta on top of a puree was tasty but all soft and too rich, and melted cheese over a fresh peach salad was unexpected, though the pairing of truffle and peach was flavorful. The local fish was over seasoned. I subbed risotto (gf) for the dish’s intended couscous but found it too to be too creamy and overly seasoned. It was a good meal but with limited time on the Vineyard we’d wished we’d gone elsewhere.
Amanda A — Google review
The heart of the ribeye was one of the best beef entrees I’ve ever had, absolutely incredible. The outside garden area is incredibly charming. We loved dining here!

Located in Edgartown, Massachusetts, 19 Raw Oyster Bar is a renovated home offering a menu featuring seafood towers and contemporary bistro fare. The spot is known for its top-notch raw bar serving oysters from various locations, including the waters of Vineyard, Maine, and New Brunswick. Additionally, guests can indulge in caviar-topped dishes such as lobster caviar sliders on grilled brioche buns with vinegar chips.
We arrived just before they closed down for an hour between lunch and dinner. Not once did we feel rushed. The entire staff was very friendly and accommodating. The large back door that opens to the patio was open as it was just a beautiful day!

Food is incredible and on an island where all the menus seem to clone one another, you won’t find these dishes anywhere else. The staff is amazing, friendly and knowledgeable. The VIBE is Creative, Fun and Delicious. I’d give it 10 stars if I could. Seriously, go here.

Great dinner on their beautiful patio. No reservations here so make sure you get there before 6 to try and get a table and/or have your wait be under an hour. Food and service were excellent. The burrata was amazing and so were the bay scallops and swordfish!

An absolutely great experience was had dining at 19 Raw Oyster Bar and Steakhouse. The service was impeccable, the food was delicious and the menu was very friendly to many. I highly recommend dining here if visiting Edgartown and I’ll be back for sure!!

The weather was amazing and we sat out in the deck. Our server, Katie, was delightful. Very informative, professional and welcoming. The food was over the top delicious. Hubby started with a Smoked Blackberry Old Fashion. We had the Smoked Pork Belly with tomato jam and polenta to start. So yummy. I had the salmon and hubby had the Sushi Grade Tuna. Our sides that we shared were both amazing. The Truffle Dauphinoise Potatoes were to die for! Brussels spouts were also delish. We passed on dessert only because we were stuffed. We will be going back before the end of our stay highly recommend.

Came here alone for dinner just before 8 and was sat right away. Service was friendly and I was impressed by my servers knowledge of the different types of oysters on offer. She was also knowledgeable about allergies so I was confident ordering a fully gluten free meal including oysters, steak au poivre, mashed potatoes and jalapeno creamed corn.
Kendall R — Google review
Had an excellent lunch , great quality ingredients, beautifully presented. Ceviche and steak tartare were delicious as was the prime rib sandwich. Crème brûlée and cheese cake were fab too. Wine list was quite pricey.
Audrie V — Google review
I arrived at 8:00p and the place was really packed. It was a mad house! Not an enjoyable dining atmosphere for the price. Party of 1 so I ate at the bar. Ordered octopus and skirt steak (medium). Octopus was extremely overcooked (felt like leather) and my skirt steak was cooked from a range of burnt to rare 😳 (see photo). Initial thought was to return when I cut into the burnt end but the bartender informed me that its usually well-done on the ends and medium in the middle. A cut mid-middle was medium so I digressed, however the opposite end of my steak was rare 😳! Each cut of my steak became the running joke for the couple next to me. Complete contrast in food and service from years past. Also no longer accepts Amex (which they do not make you aware of until after you have dined 🤦🏾‍♀️).

The Outermost Inn is a serene and picturesque inn located at the westernmost part of Martha's Vineyard, offering breathtaking ocean views and spectacular sunsets. Originally built as a family home in 1971, it has been welcoming guests since 1989. The seven-room inn, owned by Hugh Taylor (musician James Taylor's younger brother), provides a warm and inviting atmosphere for visitors.
The Outermost Inn in Aquinnah is an absolute gem! From the moment you step inside, the warm, welcoming atmosphere sets the perfect tone for a memorable dining experience. The food is exceptional—each dish is thoughtfully prepared, featuring fresh, local ingredients that highlight the flavors of Martha's Vineyard. The seafood is particularly outstanding, with the catch of the day being a standout. The views of the ocean from the dining room are simply breathtaking, adding an extra layer of magic to the meal. The service is top-notch—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Whether you're enjoying a leisurely lunch or a special dinner, the Outermost Inn never disappoints. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting the area!

We had the best experience last week at the Outermost Inn. We had booked for our last night on the island and were looking forward to a spectacular dinner. When we arrived, we learned that the kitchen was closed due to a faulty hood fan. We had a drink and some treats from the raw bar while we figured out what to do with seven people last minute in the high season (!) Sitting there admiring the golden light and sipping cocktails, we thought about all the food they had planned to serve that night, so asked if we could possibly buy some steaks and butter from the kitchen. The chef was consulted and agreed. Twenty minutes later, to our great surprise, a crate full of dishes came our way. The chef had made us a care package of filet mignon to cook at home, caramelised carrots, silky mashed potatoes, sautéed broccoli, metake mushrooms and enough butter to cook fifty steaks. We added a couple of bottles of Oregon Pinot Noir and we were set for a feast! We can’t thank the team at The Outermost enough for rescuing our night and making it truly special.

Chef Christian's culinary expertise is readily apparent. The food presentation was executed with meticulous precision. The service provided was of an exceptional standard. The three-course meal was exceptionally delectable. The entire dining experience was truly outstanding. The Wagyu steak and lobster were prepared to an exceptional standard. Best meal of my life. The Outtermost Inn provided an unforgettable evening. This was an exceptional dining experience. My wife, Melissa, and I extend our sincere gratitude to Chef Christian for his gracious hospitality. Thanks Chef 😁👍

We heard great reviews of this place and the views and atmosphere was wonderful. Unfortunately the food was overall poor, especially at the price point. The escargot and buffalo was decent but the rest of the food was shockingly mediocre. We got the salmon appetizer, beef Wellington, lobster, risotto, and crème brûlée, all were a combination of dry, burnt, or flavorless. We would recommend stopping by for a drink at their outdoor space if you are in the area, but the meal was overpriced and not worth it.
Zack E — Google review
Gorgeous setting, excellent service, delicious food. We highly recommend the burrata and escargot first course and Wellington & lobster shared entree. We arrived early for the view and ordered a manhattan and Negroni-they were okay. We tipped a bit more than 20% for outstanding service; our bill came to $475. We read plenty of unfavorable reviews about the food preparation and exorbitant cost. So it came as a lovely surprise that everything was spot on (food, service, setting) for a celebratory evening. We went in knowing it would be expensive and made the most of it-ordering what really really wanted (lobster and Wellington was generous portions and took half home to avoid feeling stuffed). No regrets. We do plan to return later in the week to enjoy the view-will order a beer and wine this time.

Restaurant review only - lovely 3 course tasting menu (although it seems very overpriced for what you get, I guess that is MV pricing and you’re paying for the location and overall experience) . We all tried different dishes and they were 75% wonderful. Lamb was the highlight, scallops good. Desserts need work but also good enough! Great waiter and bar staff is always exceptional.

The location is stunningly beautiful. The food was unfortunately not great. The food did not have much flavor and was nothing special. Excellent service. Would recommend going for drinks and oysters but not the prix fixe dinner.

Exceptional Dining Experience with Stunning Vibes We had an incredible dinner at Outermost Inn Restaurant in Martha’s Vineyard—easily one of the most memorable meals of our trip. The setting is cozy and picturesque, the staff is warm and attentive, and the entire experience felt elevated yet inviting. Before our meal, we ordered the charcuterie board and loved everything about it—the variety of cheeses, the jam, and all the thoughtful accompaniments. For our first course, we sampled several appetizers, each one unique and delicious: a fennel, crab, and apple dish that was amazingly fragrant and fresh; salmon prepared beautifully; and escargot with gnocchi, which was rich, flavorful, and perfectly executed. The chef surprised us with an amuse-bouche, which set the tone for the rest of the night. The truffle-flavored pasta, served as an intermittent course, was outstanding—earthy, aromatic, and indulgent. For mains, the Wagyu Wellington was absolutely phenomenal—tender, perfectly cooked, and paired beautifully with lobster, broccoli rabe, and seared carrots for a luxurious, well-balanced plate. The striped bass with caviar was also excellent, fresh, and well-composed (though I personally could have used just a pinch more salt). While the desserts were our least favorite part of the evening—not because they weren’t good, but because the earlier courses had set such an incredibly high bar—the overall experience more than made up for it. From start to finish, the service was flawless. Our server was knowledgeable, engaging, and made us feel truly cared for. We would absolutely return—this is a must-visit for anyone in Martha’s Vineyard looking for exquisite food, wonderful service, and a truly memorable night out.

The Seafood Shanty in Edgartown offers a fish-focused menu served in a casual dining room or on an expansive deck, with the added bonus of DJs some nights. Families can enjoy outdoor seating on the deck with a beautiful view of Edgartown Harbor and Chappy in the distance. The restaurant's location right on the harbor, huge selection of local seafood, and wonderful atmosphere make it appealing for both adults and kids. On rainy days, there is ample indoor seating available as well.
This restaurant is a great spot to watch the boats and ferry to Chappy. We started out with a berry lemonade drink which was very refreshing and delicious. We had the lobster dip app which came with warm pita chips. The dip itself was loaded with fresh lobster and was mouth watering spectacular. I ordered lobster roll in butter accompanied with fries. The lobster was sweet and tender as it should be. It was heavenly good. Our waitress was smiling, friendly and just an all around great waitress. She checked back with us often and we appreciated her efforts.

Arrived at 6:00 pm on a cloudy Wednesday evening and were seated upstairs in the open air seating. Wonderful views over the harbor and you can watch the Chappy ferry on its constant back and forth journey. Service was good. The lobster roll was served with fries and had lots of chunk lobster – seemed to be a good value. The Clam Chowder had a good flavor and was very creamy. The fried shrimp platter was okay, but seemed a bit overpriced for the amount of shrimp. The winner was the lobster dip appetizer, served with lots of crispy pita bread. We also loved the Ocean Berry Booze cocktail. Would go back for the dip, cocktail and the great views. Outside seating was very full when we left around 7:30 pm.

I’m not sure why the reviews are poor. The service is good. The large deck offers nice views. The food is pretty solid for a place that it doesn’t have to be. We ordered raw oysters 3.5/5 (small), shrimp cocktail 4/5, Caesar salad 4/5, warm buttered lobster roll 4/5, PAN ROASTED MISO SALMON 5/5, and Boston cream pie 3/5 (dry). Good beer, wine, and cocktail options.

A perfect experience. I couldn't ask for anything to be better. Our server, Elizabeth, was excellent and gave us great recommendations for food on the menu and places on the island! She was also amazing about my food restrictions. The drinks were delicious, the views are beautiful, the music was great, the food was amazing and came out so quickly. I honestly have waited longer for Taco Bell then we waited for our food. I was shocked when it came out and was worried maybe it wouldn't be good but I was so wrong. This may be one of the best places I've been.

Very nice place, if you catch a good weather and get a seat outside, the view is incredible. The food was good, not amazing. A little bit over priced but still worth the experience.

Had a good lunch at this place. We enjoyed the stuffed quahog, lobster and shrimp tacos, the food was tasty. Service was also very friendly. Lovely place to sit overlooking the water. Lobster well priced.

Great food, great service and great location. Enjoyed the lobster roll and the fisherman's platter. Loved it so much we went twice in the same week!
John G — Google review
The location especially outdoors on the top level is great. Staff is friendly and attentive. Had the fish and chips. Only came with one fish which is not a lot for the price. The fries were seasoned well and cripsy; very good. Sadly the fish was subpar. The meat was good but the batter was soggy and chewy. Couldn't get a clean cut and basically just ate the meat inside. All that was left was the rubbery batter that stayed together like a skin. Would prefer it to be more crunchy.

Red Cat Kitchen is where bold creativity meets thoughtful, soulful food. From the very first bite to the last moment of the meal, it’s clear this spot is about more than just dinner — it’s about experience. I started with the Island Fresca, a chilled soup that surprised and delighted me. Light, flavorful, and full of freshness. Definitely order it with the Boris Made the Focaccia — the name is fun, and the bread is perfectly herby and warm. My husband had the Blue Hill Maine Mussels, which were such a hit he ordered extra focaccia just to soak up the broth. I followed with the fish and corn risotto — creamy, rich, and full of late-summer flavor. It was all so well-balanced and thoughtful. One thing I loved: you can watch the chefs at work. The open kitchen adds an energetic, almost theatrical feel to the night — you’re watching art happen in real time. The atmosphere is definitely lively — expect a noisy dining room with close seating. It’s part of the charm, but something to be aware of if you’re looking for quiet conversation. Another important note: the menu changes often, and modifications aren’t allowed on cocktails or menu items. I actually respect that — they make everything in-house, from their cocktail syrups to the sauces, so there’s a strong sense of integrity in what they serve. But if you’re picky or have specific needs, it’s something to know ahead of time. And finally — the women’s bathroom. Yes, it deserves its own paragraph. The walls are adorned with Shel Silverstein’s “The Thinker of Tender Thoughts”, expressed in whimsical sketches that gradually transform a man’s head into a bouquet of flowers. The floral decals along the ceiling and the rustic wood vanity mirror give it a personal, poetic feel. I had to stop and take photos. It’s that thoughtful. If you’re in Oak Bluffs and want a meal that feeds both your appetite and your imagination, Red Cat Kitchen should be on your list. Just come ready for a full sensory experience — noise, flavor, artistry, and all.

Excellent, excellent meal, the best we've had in Martha's Vineyard! The risotto was delicious, the brussel sprouts were fantastic. We had the halibut, the salmon, the pasta, all were really great. Really tasty cocktails as well. The service was awesome, the chef is a really cool and the inside has a nice casual vibe. If you come for drinks, check out the nook with the couch seats by the bar!

Our reservation for 8 people was at 7:30 on Wednesday 6/25/25. They required a credit card to make the on line reservation and stated a 30.00 no- show fee. We arrived at 7:20 and were seated promptly. Our server greeted us and was friendly and helpful. We ordered drinks. My drink arrived incorrectly, not as I had asked for it. The server noted the error but did not offer to correct it. She returned a few minutes later and I asked that she please bring me the correct drink. She attempted to add an additional drink to my order made Advised her , “No”, I would like this drink returned and made as I requested. She took the drink back and returned the drink to me the same as it was originally. That was not acceptable. She took the second attempt back and brought me the drink correctly. At the conclusion they attempted to charge me for the incorrect drink. They are known for their fried chicken. That was one of the recommended dishes at Red Cat. I disagree. The chicken was good but certainly not worth the asking price. 40.00 for a mediocre breast of fried chicken with mashed potatoes is certainly not up to my expectations of a fine dining experience. The Brussels sprouts were great. The bluefish was very good. Although I didn’t eat any , others very much enjoyed the steak. Overall not worth the price of the meal. Additionally we were served dinner at 8:55 for our 7:30 reservation on a Wednesday evening Generally underwhelming

Outstanding Vibes - A+ staff and hands down the most beautiful food and beverage on Circuit ave. Must have Brussels, and don’t sleep on the fried chicken. This brûléed Gold Bud Peach was sublime iykyk.

While in Martha’s Vineyard I ate here, this was my first time having mussels out of the shell in a tomato broth vs the usual garlic/butter wine combo. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect.
Yolanda D — Google review
Be aware that the menu is always changing so what you see here isn’t what you will get in restaurant. We started with the heirloom tomato, which was $19 for three slices, and chowder. Both were fine, but nothing to get excited about. We then shared the fried chicken as our entree. The fried chicken was a bit overcooked, the batter had a slight burnt taste, and some parts of the chicken were very dry. However, the accompanying sweet potato was very overcooked, hard as a rock and completely inedible. We mentioned this to the waitress that cleared our table and all we received was a blank stare. We didn’t expect to be comped or have the kitchen remake, but we do expect acknowledgement and an apology. Nothing special about the atmosphere. The service gets two stars because our main waiter, Lewis, did a good job, but gets knocked down by the waitress’ lack of recognition. Overall, the experience did not meet our expectations based upon the star rating on resy, reviews in google and yelp.

Larsen's Fish Market is a beloved seasonal seafood spot located on the picturesque shores of Martha's Vineyard. Established in 1969 by Louis and Mary Larsen, this family-owned establishment has been committed to providing fresh and fairly priced seafood to both the local fishing community and customers. It serves as a wholesale supplier for numerous seafood restaurants on the island, ensuring top-quality offerings at competitive prices.
Hands down best lobster roll on the island. Eat the warm one straight away otherwise roll gets soggy. Amazing oysters also. It’s worth the drive over and the taste is lovely.

Seriously this counter service warm lobster roll while sitting on wood crates overlooking the dock was one of the best meals we had on this vacation. No frills just great food and a small coastal town hallmark movie setting. My take is the warm better than cold but both delicious. Eat the warm there drench it in butter and take the cold to go. Skip the Mac and cheese and get a second roll! The steamed mussels looked and smelled great but we were stuffed.

This may be heaven for seafood lovers! It was for us! The service was friendly, fun, and helpful. The selection of fresh seafood that you can order to pick up, or lovingly prepare for you there and eat outside overlooking the fishing boats was exceptional! The whole lobsters and butter and fresh oysters were over the top fresh and delicious! No words! Love this place!

My husband and I missed the sunset at Menemsha Beach the night before, so we made it a point to return the next day. We almost missed Larsen’s too, but thankfully the amazing staff let me place an order just 15 minutes before closing. I went with a select lobster and steamers—and wow. I've never had lobster and steamers cooked so perfectly. And the butter? Next level. I’ve decided this will be my yearly treat. Thank you to the team at Larsen’s for being so personable and bringing that extra touch of genuine human service. No AI could ever replace that.

Restaurant
Located at the prime spot on Main Street in Edgartown, Alchemy Bistro & Bar has been a staple of the local food scene for two decades. Under new ownership and chef, it offers a unique blend of culinary styles from Italy, France, and Spain to create an exceptional American bistro experience. The upscale restaurant serves a diverse menu featuring seafood, meat dishes, drinks, and desserts.
We went to the Alchemy for dinner on a Friday night. The place was very busy and a bit loud, which is to be expected. The cocktails at this place are really good. We got the Arbuz and a mojito. The mixed berry jam that came with the cheese plate was so good that I would recommend getting that appetizer solely for that reason. Out of the three entrees we got, the campanelle pasta (with sun-dried tomato & walnut pesto) was the star and the favorite of everyone at the table. We also got the halibut and chicken which were still tasty even if they weren't as good as the pasta. The mango strawberry cheesecake we got for dessert was also delicious, would recommend.
Deepank K — Google review
Great Food, Poor Service The food at Alchemy was absolutely delicious, but the service was disappointing especially given the price point. We waited about 45 minutes for our entrees with no updates from our server, who showed little interest in our table throughout the night. When my father-in-law asked about our meals, the response was dismissive, and he eventually had to speak with the manager himself. The server didn’t check in until we were already halfway through eating. A smile, a simple update, or even basic attentiveness would’ve gone a long way. For a restaurant with such great food and ambiance, the lack of hospitality really took away from what should have been a memorable dining experience.
Kristina P — Google review
After all the hype about this place from guide books and travel magazines, I can’t believe how bad it was. There was nothing interesting or original in the menu and when I finally chose something the resulting dish was not only underwhelming but just plain blah. I think the pictures speak for themselves.

We had the most amazing dining experience at Alchemy in Martha’s Vineyard (Edgartown) — and it was all thanks to Aileen, our incredible server. Her warmth, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality made our visit unforgettable. The food was absolutely divine. I had the steak — perfectly cooked and full of flavor — and my husband ordered the salmon, which was just as impressive. Every bite felt like a celebration. Aileen truly elevated the entire evening. We’ll definitely be coming back to Alchemy — and asking for her again. Thank you for making our night so special! ✨

Excellent service. The menu was short, though everything on it seemed well-designed. Unfortunately, everything was way too salty to enjoy properly. The fried oysters were nothing special -- fried for too long and then covered in too much barbecue sauce. The quality of the fish and lobster was excellent, but again bathed in too much salty sauce.

My daughters and I were seated upstairs in the back room next to the fireplace. It was a fun spot to sit; we could look out across the rooms and watch the hustle and bustle of this lively restaurant. Our server Michael made our dining experience absolutely delightful. By far the best server we had during our stay on Martha’s Vineyard. We shared everything we ordered and were not disappointed with our choices. The Jonas crab and asparagus salad was very fresh, not overdressed and gracious plenty to share. The fresh oysters were also a hit. I split the 2lb. lobster with spätzle and fresh veggies with one of my daughters, it was over the top delicious! My other daughter had the scallops and also found them to be delicious. The girls split the flourless chocolate dessert and enjoyed every last bite!! The cocktails were really good, the wine list so-so but everything else was fantastic. We loved this spot for the fun atmosphere and delicious foods. I highly recommend going. And ask for Michael!

one of my first meals on the island and WOW! first of all, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. my family and I were recommended the apricot salad to split (so amazing), and they were very accommodating with making some changes to fit dietary needs. for my main I ordered the cauliflower dish… truly what dreams are made of. I will be dreaming about this meal for a long time. OH! and came back for coffee the following morning– highly recommend! 😋

Behind the Bookstore is an absolute gem - tucked away and full of charm. Everything here is made in-house, and you can taste the difference in every bite. The fresh-baked pastries and bread are next level - flaky, warm, and wildly satisfying. We had a hard time choosing just one, so naturally we didn’t. The drinks are also spot on - well-crafted and balanced, whether you’re going for a latte or something a little stronger. The vibe is relaxed but elevated, and it’s the kind of place you want to linger. A must-visit if you’re in Edgartown looking for a caffeine boost.

Finally, a place on the vineyard that is offering something other than lobster rolls and crab cakes. Nestled behind the local bookstore under canvas sails and oak trees, you can find this little gem of an eatery. From mushroom tacos to Asian veg rice bowls, they offer a diverse selection of healthy and different food options that don’t include meat, fish or cheese. Not exclusively vegan but def vegan friendly. Quick service and relaxed vibe.

This was nice. I came here for a nice read while enjoying my coffee and breakfast. I ordered a catado coffee and a cold brew with a breakfast order of Shakshuka. The atmosphere was very relaxing in a very busy Cafe. The coffee was spot on, however the eggs in the Shakshuka was overcooked. I asked one of the staff if they could remake the order for the eggs to be runny and they immediately followed through with kindness. The 2nd time came back extremely mouthwatering with great flavors! The staff did circle around and check on me to see how it came out again and apologise. Thanks so much for the wonderful service! Will be back again!

Place itself is very very cute, is the food amazing, no, is it one of the better options on the island yes. The shakshuka is very American, not a bit of spice in it, but as NY’ers we are privy to very good food. So for MV it earns a 4

Morning Glory Farm, established in 1975, is a family-owned farm on Marthas Vineyard known for its commitment to conservation and farmland preservation. The farm spans 65 acres and features a diverse range of fresh produce, flowers, herbs, and more. Their expansive farmstand offers an array of just-harvested vegetables, fruits, dairy products, freshly baked goods like pies and muffins as well as starter plants for home gardens.
Morning Glory Farm is one of the best farms on island in my opinion. A family farm, they supply ingredients to so many island homes and restaurants. Thankful because I live just five minutes away! If you're visiting, it's a must because it's a great spot to stock up for food if you're staying in a rental and wanting to cook local island produce. Also a great farm stand to pick up beach food - they have everything from a delicious salad bar to baked goods, cheeses, crackers, charcuterie, and so much more. Need peanut butter? They grind their own and it comes in a glass jar (yei no plastic!); need flowers for a dinner, they have them; want some beach plum jam, they make their own - also their strawberry jam is amazing! Plus they have ready. to eat dinners like tacos, meatloaf, macaroni and cheese, and so much more, easy to reheat when you're on the go. Morning Glory Farm - definitely a favorite on island!

Nestled in Edgartown on the Donaromas Nursery property, Bad Martha Farmers Brewery has been a beloved spot since its establishment in 2014. The brewery boasts a relaxed ambiance and a charming timbered facade surrounded by lush greenery. With an onsite seven-barrel brewing system, visitors can savor freshly brewed beer from a rotating selection of 10 different Bad Martha beers.
I'm glad we made this stopover at Bad Martha's on Martha Vineyard. The only main brewery on the island it was a must-try. With plenty of beer selection, we chose to do a flight. My favorites were their Belgian Quad and Oyster stout. As for food, oh boy, I highly recommend ordering their pizza, plenty of oozy goodness, and they don't cheap out on cheese. Perfect marriage of beer and pizza. Service was exceptional and plenty of outdoor seating on a lovely summer's day.

Bad Martha, was bad. The bacon pizza was nasty and the wings were even worse. The beer was ok. The only good thing about this place is their merch and outdoor dining. I hate leaving a place feeling like I was ripped off and that’s exactly how our group all felt at the end of our visit. Sadly, this was one big disappointment. What we spent here would have been a very nice meal out somewhere else. Truly a waste of time and money ubering all the way over here from the vineyard haven ferry.

Then, head to The Ritz on Circuit Ave for a night of dancing and more live music. This legendary dive bar is known for its strong pours and lively atmosphere, making it a favorite among locals.
The Ritz is such a fun and lively spot! It has that classic, no-frills island vibe where you can just relax, listen to great live music, and have a good time. The bartenders are friendly and quick, and the drinks are strong and reasonably priced. It feels like one of those places where everyone is welcome, locals and visitors alike. Food was aight. Can't complain too much for a late night spot. The music was good and had a decent beer selection. Gets pretty crowded but no complaints about the service either.
Kareem A — Google review
The Ritz’s bartending team was exemplary: warm, quick-witted, and unfailingly attentive. They greeted each patron with warmth and quick wit, treating everyone as a guest rather than a transaction—precisely the kind of attentive service that hospitality research identifies as pivotal to a memorable evening. They treated patrons as guests, not transactions, and somehow kept a lively crowd even when no one was ordering. They checked in on me (I was alone) and even introduced me to a friend—textbook hospitality. At the door, a different story. An older gentleman, a bouncer, fed up with counterfeit IDs, vented at three PYTs who looked about nineteen. Two IDs cleared; the third produced only a photo. Her friends suggested a passport; she balked and they left. The bouncer’s irritation then spread to patrons of all ages, souring the entry before anyone reached the bar. The real disappointment was the karaoke. This is one of the island’s few weekday options—prime chance to create small-town magic for locals, seasonal workers, and lookie-loos. Hosting karaoke well requires authentic enthusiasm and respectful engagement—encouraging singers of varying levels while keeping the room alive and happy, even when singing a thoroughly depressing love song. Some will go a step further and even harmonise with you while you sing (shoutout to a few select places in Brooklyn, Boston, Cali and Florida!) to ensure you sound good instead of sounding akin to a yowling feline. If you are incapable musically of such feats, one would assume that basic decency and courtesy and respect would be present. At the Ritz, far from it. Johnny and friend offered instead a rotation of apathy and forced exuberance. The only time they seemed genuine is when they were talking down to individuals, and saints help the odd patron who dared ask when their song was up - Johnny rudely asked a young man why it mattered (intrusive much) and they were deliberately skipped. The older gentleman had an uncalled for attitude peppered with condescension that diminished rather than uplifted. Maybe standards are allowed to be kept low since the crowd has no taste - which brings us to the next contextual factor; the clientele. The clientele skewed young and insular. Conversation among under-20s flowed mainly when motives weren’t musical; the prevailing courtship move was to sit too close and stare as if you were a television running music videos about the problems of the powerful. For a culture that valorizes non-familial, non-communal ties, the deficit in basic EQ was… instructive.

Very important to know that Dilly's is located inside the Ritz!! It's a dark bar but honestly I loved the atmosphere! Sophia was a great bartender; casual, friendly, helpful. The rice bowls were AMAZING. Next time we're in MV we'll have to go at night to experience the "night life", but it was a great quick lunch before our ferry! @amp_eats (instagram)

We were relieved to find this place open as most of the restaurants in Oak Bluffs of Martha's Vineyard were closed during the winters. We were really hungry and thus ordered Shrimp Quesadillas, Buffalo Chicken Wings and 5$ burgers. Shrimp Quesadillas were really great and exactly what we needed to have at that moment. The hospitality was nice and the place had some cool music running too.

Nomans is a unique spot located near State Beach, offering a spacious outdoor area with live music and various lawn games like cornhole and Jenga. What sets this place apart is their own rum production, which features in many of their specialty cocktails. The casual dining menu includes delicious options like soba noodle bowls and buttermilk fried chicken sandwiches. It's a family-friendly venue with a dog-friendly policy, making it an ideal place for both adults and children to enjoy the outdoors together.
I am in love with the kale sweet potato salad here!!! It’s always fresh and refreshing on a hot day, and I love that there is a lot of shaded outdoor seating. If I’m really hungry I get chicken tenders too, and grab a day-old cookie (s’mores of course).

We came here on a late Friday afternoon to dance, have some food & drinks, and listen to the DJ. Nomads now charges a $10 entry fee ($12 if you use a credit card), as of the 2025 season. Seating was limited so we had to stand for a bit before we were able to find a place to sit. There were reserved sections on the patio and out on the lawn. We eventually found seats with a table and ordered appetizers and drinks. There was a couple of corn hole games outside which kept some of the children that were present, occupied. The DJ played a variety of music that kept everyone on the dance floor. A good time was had.

Amazing Oysters & Laid-Back Island Vibes Our first attempt to visit Nomans was on a Friday night—unknowingly right when it seemed like everyone on the island had the same idea! We decided to try again on Saturday afternoon, and I’m so glad we did. The vibes were still popping, but without the long wait. Molly, the bartender, was fantastic—friendly, welcoming, and pouring some truly delicious drinks. We enjoyed a couple of Mai Tais and a strong Old Fashioned before diving into the main event: the oysters. And let me tell you… these were AH-mazing—so fresh, so tasty, just downright guuud! We started with a half dozen, but they were so good we had to order another half dozen. I can honestly say these are probably the best oysters I’ve had to date. Our kids enjoyed playing a few games while we relaxed, and we also tried the cod sandwich—perfectly cooked, with a flavorful aioli that really stood out. The fries were fresh, hot, and tasty. The music (not live) added to the already chill, island vibe, making it even easier to kick back and enjoy the afternoon. I’m so glad our plans shifted to Saturday instead of Friday—it made for the perfect, laid-back island experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Such a cute spot between Edgartown and Oak Bluffs. Awesome to-go options for the beach are eating on site. There are yard games like connect four and cornhole, and an outdoor TV where we watched an NFL game. A really great value for the food we had also: hotdog and chicken sando were delish and the fries were piping hot.

Noman’s has become an annual outing during our vacation. It streamlines food and drink orders by offering counter service. This allows them to service many customers in a short period of time. It’s amazing to see retirees enjoying a meal together while kids run circles around the tables. The atmosphere is laid back, which makes it suitable and welcoming to all. They have great music, tasty food, a raw bar, and a wide selection of drinks. Seating is first-come, first-served, so you may need to stake out your location. Parking can also be difficult, and they offer an off-site shuttle service. Food in the photo includes short rib tacos (left), kale salad (right), and potato salad (back).

Nomans is such a fun spot with great food, drinks, and a lively atmosphere. It’s perfect for hanging out with friends or family, and the vibe feels very “island casual.” Everything we had was excellent, and the staff kept things moving even when it was busy. The only downsides are that parking can be a real challenge and, during peak times, it’s sometimes tough to find a table for your whole group. Still, once you’re settled, it’s always a great experience.

I had an amazing experience at The Barn in Martha’s Vineyard! The food and drinks were absolutely spectacular, and the customer service was outstanding from start to finish. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and made the whole visit feel special. Even their merchandise is great quality. I will definitely go back to The Barn the next time I’m in Martha’s Vineyard—highly recommend! Was fun text messaging with them the passion fruit drink was amazing. You won’t be disappointed 🥰

The Tiger Fried Chicken Sandwich was absolutely amazing — the perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and salty. The portion was generous for the price, and it came out quickly. I also appreciated that while tipping was an option, they didn’t automatically tack on a fee when I online ordered, like many places do now. Everything on the menu sounded unique and full of flavor, and I’ll definitely be coming back!

Best fried chicken sandwich anywhere. Tiger style sweet chili with miso mayo was crazy good. And the portions are huge - get the combo with fries and you won’t be hungry for a few days. And in touristy OB? Anyone eating anywhere else is nuts. This place is legit.

After a really disappointing experience at Coop De Ville earlier today, we stopped by TigerHawk in Oak Bluffs—and it completely turned our day around. We had a fantastic experience here. My husband has a severe dairy allergy, and Rachel, our server, was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. She clearly understood the seriousness of food allergies and walked us through the safe menu options. Thanks to her care and attention, my husband was able to enjoy a delicious chicken sandwich without any concerns. This is exactly the kind of service that makes all the difference. It reminded us why we love Martha’s Vineyard. I truly hope more restaurants follow this example—where customers feel valued, safe, and welcome. Thank you, TigerHawk and Rachel, for restoring our trust and making us feel cared for.

My husband and I have been ordering Tiger Hawk Sandwiches since they opened. We usually get them to go as the shop is small. Everything is delicious with lots of choices for meat eaters and Vegan alike. Today I tried the Tofu and ‘Shroom poke bowl. It was delicious but I did not get any mushrooms. Otherwise, it had grilled tofu, cucumbers, pickled daikon, carrots, red onions, and avocado all in a bed of lettuce greens and rice with umami dressing. Yum!
Maureen K — Google review
Alright service was 5 stars, friendly and efficient. Food 4 stars cause I'm more used to the traditional Vietnamese banh mi that uses baguette as they were french influenced. Originally came for their poke bowl but they have no tuna on hand, so a little disappointed. Switched to banh mi with pork belly $16+tax. By now I'm quite used to the higher prices in MV. 4 pieces of square inch or so flavorful pork bellies in a sub sandwich (again baguette would give more crunch) with fresh cucumber slices, pickled jalapenos, cilantro, almost invisible shredded carrots& sauteed onions. Not bad though sandwich became soggy towards the end with the dressing inside. Their table top haberneo/pineapple hot sauce was wonderful to add for kicking it up a notch.

The Harbor View Hotel is a 19th-century waterfront hotel that underwent renovations in 2020, offering individually styled rooms with modern amenities and a minimalist color palette. The resort includes Captains Cottages for larger parties, a Presidential Skyhouse with sweeping views, and options for complete takeover of the fourth-floor wing.
I stayed for 4 nights with my extended family including a baby. We loved our time there. The rooms are nice, the service was excellent, and the place had a warm feel. The pool is lovely and on warm days guests congregate around it. You can eat by the pool and the food is terrific. The location of the hotel is ideal. It is a 10 min walk to town where there are tons of stores and varied dining options. It is an easy relaxing vacation. We will retun. In fact we are already booked. I would appreciate it if the pool could be open earlier. 8 am is late and interferes with family activities. Thanks
BARBARA G — Google review
The Harbor View Hotel was not a very luxury experience for us. The location is fantastic. The harbor view is stunning and lighthouse beach was beautiful for sunrise and during the day as well. It was chill. The room was small and rustic, but met our needs. Although not very luxurious feel. The service was not close to what I would expect from a hotel that claims to be luxury. The restaurant staff, pool staff, concierges were all very inattentive. We were not helped in a timely fashion. The front desk staff was good and there were much more helpful than the concierge was. But we weren't really even introduced to the hotel properly, and the staff was curt and seemed bothered to help us when we asked things like "where's the pool" or "where do get the bikes". When we got out of the taxi, no one helped us with our bags. The staff makes a luxury hotel for me and this was not the vibe. They had staff but a lot of them would rather stand around chatting with each other rather than help a guest out.

The Harbor View Hotel is one of the best places to stay on Martha’s Vineyard. The views alone are worth the trip – absolutely stunning, especially at sunrise and sunset. The location couldn’t be better: just a 5-minute walk into downtown Edgartown with all of its shops and restaurants, plus the convenience of a complimentary shuttle if you’d rather ride. The dining here is incredible – from breakfast to dinner, every meal feels special, with fresh ingredients and a menu that consistently impresses. Service is attentive without being overbearing, which makes the experience even better. The rooms are solid – comfortable and clean – though they could be a little better given the overall level of the property. My only other drawback is that it’s definitely on the pricier side, so you’re paying for the location and experience. Overall, I’d rate it a 4.8 out of 5. A near-perfect Vineyard stay, and easily one of the top places to stay on the island.

Beautiful, well-maintained luxury hotel! We had a lovely spacious room overlooking the pool. Great mostly quiet location with spectacular view of the Edgartown Lighthouse. It is a quick 5 minute walk to the Lighthouse. We made good use of the complimentary bikes and the golf cart shuttle into town. Great communication on events via text message. We did not eat at the Bettini Restaurant. If you are planning to eat there, make your reservations well in advance. We spent a couple afternoons at The pool. Staff was attentive and friendly. We did order some snacks from the Roxy pool bar and they were delicious! Pros: EXCELLENT staff from outside to front desk to cleaning staff. Beautiful front porch and unbeatable views of Edgartown Lighthouse. Cons: low water pressure in shower and noisy at night near the pool.

We stayed in June 2025. Great location. Good room. Not the best one. It is worth 3 stars hotel. Service is poor. Most likely college students do for part time job. No professional attitude. Door person ignore luggage, receptionists are just kids. No attention to details. Good kids. Just not professional. It is nice to feel like we are taking care of young kids but no worth of paying good price here. Restaurant is great. Staffs are excellent.

The Atlantic Fish & Chop House is a stylish restaurant with a yacht-club atmosphere and stunning views of Nantucket Sound. Located in Edgartown harbor, this multi-level venue offers around 200 seats across various indoor and outdoor dining spaces. Specializing in fresh seafood and steak, the restaurant also provides catering services for events of up to 500 guests. Couples can sample the menu for their wedding reception and book private dining areas for intimate gatherings.
My friends and I went on a girls trip to Martha’s Vineyard the weekend before Memorial Day and this restaurant did not disappoint. From the service, to the atmosphere, to the food everything was outstanding! And the cocktails were out of this world! One of my friends and I started with the grilled octopus and then she got the salmon dish. The rest of us had the roasted half chicken. Everything was great! I was too full for dessert, but one of the girls got the cookies and milkshakes, and another friend got the Frutta Di Bosca which was a chocolate tart shell with vanilla sauce and berries. The desserts were divine. As we left the restaurant, every single staff member said goodbye to us. Our waiter was the BEST, Top-notch service.

Highly trained and attentive service staff. The cocktails were definitely a highlight with subtle flavors and presentation. We ordered the shrimp cocktail and watermelon and feta salad as starters. The shrimp were healthy and flavorful and the feta salad had a generous portion of cheese which paired well with the balsamic glaze. Our courses came out of the kitchen very quickly! For our main course, I got the ossobuco. The flavor was very strong and savory, like a winter beef stew. The cavatelli was lightly baked which gave it a nice crunch. My wife ordered the veal Parmesan and it was cooked to perfection. The plate it was served on was the size of a pizza lol. The portion was so massive that we ended up finishing it for lunch and breakfast the next day! Our waiter Luke was so attentive and even treated us to shots of limoncello (as it is our honeymoon!) Overall, I would say the food and service lives up to the reputation and id recommend Atlantic the next time you have something to celebrate.

Had such a fantastic time here. Our server, Luke, was so friendly and helpful with menu recommendations. We sat outside at a table with a fire pit of sorts and it was perfect. We all shared the French fries and I also had a crab cake. Both were fantastic. The drinks that everyone had were good too. I got the Mint Condition and it was one of the best alcoholic drinks I've ever had.

Absolutely Fabulous Culinary Experience! All our food was beautifully presented, fresh, tasty, and delicious. Our server was friendly, exceptionally helpful and attentive. All the seafood we ordered was heavenly. Drinks were made to perfection. The atmosphere is sophisticated yet casual over looking the water. We loved it!

I decided to have a 4th of July dinner out with mom at one of our favorite fancy spots, The Atlantic Fish & Chop House in Edgartown. They had a lamb dish 2 seasons ago that I still dream about. We had some charbroiled oysters, a lobsters arugula salad, and some osso bucco. Everything was delicious 😋 except the pasta was a bit overdone (it was crunchy). I had a perfectly made Hugo Spritz to wash it down.
Morgan F — Google review
Let me start with the positive, Vanya the hostess is amazing😍, she went above and beyond for us and we really appreciate that. We really wanted to check out the Atlantic because we heard Michelle Obama was there and that they had the best food for special occasions. My meal was absolutely delicious, I really enjoyed the seasonings and found the meal unique and appetizing! We went for my bday and my girlfriend was treating me. She doesn't eat meat or cheese and asked for salmon, the waitress recommended the salad and to then add the salmon, my girlfriend asked what the additional cost will be and was told "not much higher than the original meal which was $42" when the bill came the cost of the salmon alone was $40 in addition to cost of salad which was $24 so my girlfriend had to pay $64 for a salad due to miscommunication. I think it's extremely important to communicate so people have options . I know its an upscale restaurant but a lot of working class people may want to come and just celebrate special occasions and little things like this make a difference. This why I am giving 4 out of 5 stars.

We stopped in after a bike ride into town and ended up staying longer than planned. Worth it. Got the crab cake, truffle fries, yellowtail, and Caesar salad. Everything was solid across the board. Additionally, visitors can enjoy refreshing rum punch and margaritas while taking in the stunning vistas.
Lookout Tavern in Martha's Vineyard is truly a gem! From the moment we arrived, it was clear why this place is so popular – it was absolutely packed, a sure sign of a fantastic establishment. We were quoted a 45-minute wait, but to our pleasant surprise, it ended up being much shorter, which was a great start to the evening. Once seated, the service was great, attentive despite the bustling atmosphere, making us feel well taken care of. And the food? Exceptional! Every dish was prepared with care, fresh, and bursting with flavor. It's the kind of meal that makes you want to linger and savor every bite. Adding to the overall magic was the beautiful view. Overlooking the water, it provided the perfect backdrop for a memorable meal. Perfect Kickoff to Our Martha’s Vineyard Stay Lookout Tavern was the very first restaurant we visited when we arrived on the island, and it set the tone for a fantastic trip. Our party of six enjoyed a total of four (maybe five!) warm lobster rolls, one shrimp platter, four rum punches, and one or two lemonades—and everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The lobster rolls were especially memorable—tender lobster meat, perfectly seasoned, and served warm. Before our meals arrived, we shared calamari and fried oysters as appetizers, and both were absolutely delicious—crispy, well-seasoned, and the perfect way to start the meal. When we arrived, we were told the wait might be around 30 minutes, but in reality, it was only about 10. That gave us just enough time to take a quick walk across the pier and enjoy the view before being seated. We were placed at a comfortable picnic table with a great view of the lively scene around us—people enjoying good food, great weather, and relaxed island vibes. The service was friendly, the food came out quickly, and the overall atmosphere made for the perfect kickoff to our stay on the Vineyard. We will absolutely be back on our next visit—especially for those lobster rolls!

This place was absolutely worth the wait! It was packed when we arrived, so be ready to wait a bit, but trust me, it’s worth it. The Reuben was one of the best we’ve ever had, and the homemade chips were perfectly crisp and delicious. The California roll was fresh and tasty, and the spider roll was good too. The shrimp dumplings weren’t our favorite and tasted a bit frozen, but everything else more than made up for it. The Cobb salad was a great portion and very flavorful, and the red ale was cold, refreshing, and paired perfectly with the meal. Overall, amazing food and great service, definitely recommend!

Jumbo Tavern Lobster roll and Texas Burger. This was my first ever lobster roll and I loved it. It was such a large portion I thought I would never finish it, I was wrong, I ate ever last bite and the fries along with it! The hubby enjoyed his burger and fries also. We sat at the bar with a view of the water. Service was excellent. The bartender recommended which lobster roll to get and I am so happy with the choice. Drinks: Tito’s & lemonade and the hubby got a local IPA.🍺 Clean bathrooms.

This lunch spot was fantastic! We were looking for a place to eat that was pet-friendly, and this restaurant exceeded our expectations. As soon as we sat down, they brought out water for us and our two dogs, which was such a thoughtful touch. The food was just as great as the service. I had the lobster roll, which was absolutely delicious. My partner loved the fish tacos, and my youngest had the creamy, rich lobster mac and cheese. My oldest and our pups both had burgers and were happy campers. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. It’s hard to find a spot that caters to the whole family—including the furry members—so this place is a real gem. We'll definitely be back!

It also operates a local cafe near the harbor where visitors can enjoy a variety of fresh seafood dishes such as crab cakes, stuffed quahog, shrimp, mussels, clams, tuna, scallops, and lobster. Additionally, the cafe offers salads, soups, sandwiches and an extensive selection of freshly made sushi and sashimi.
Travellers, the net result is a seafood take-out restaurant with a fish store inside. Or the fish store also serves take out food. Which ever is the case give this a try. The flounder sandwich is wonderful. The fish is fresh and perfectly fried lightly and then stuffed into the bun. All the fried foods are fresh and delicious. The seafood is amazing too. The real stars are the ready to go soups and items that are made in house and stock the shelves. The lobster bisque is fantastic. A sandwich, lobster bisque, and the gorgeous sunsets is all anyone really needs. Check it out. We recommend. TLDR excellent fried and fresh seafood

We had a lunch here in the Net Result and really enjoyed it. It actually is a shop too but you can buy food inside or at the windows and have it on the table outside. Fairly priced so we were positively surprised as MV can be really expensive. This place comes highly recommended from us!

Fresh seafood market that also has cooked food to order. No inside seating, but several picnic tables with umbrellas outside to sit at or do take-away. We got an order of the fish tacos and the shrimp tacos. Each order comes with two tacos – very fully filled. Wonderful sauce and toppings (contained corn, peppers, tomatoes, onions, black beans – be aware if you don’t like all those type of things) on both. Shrimp and fish were fresh and were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Good value for Vineyard Haven.

Love it. Fresh and one of the best deals on the island. The fish dog is soooo good. Haddock on a toasted hot dog bun. Just yummy! We've had many meals here. Great staff too!

I give this place a 1. Been living on cape cod my whole life. I don't think I have been to one seafood place that looks at you like you have 5 heads when you ask for butter for the stuffed quahog. Everyone was just standing around and look at you or staring off into space. They had the new girl doing all the work and when she asked for help the person she asked just stood there and did nothing. The quahog was bland with no flavor, all stuffing. Worse I've had. Seems like it's froze from a warehouse. Definitely not a cape cod quahog. Not worth the money at all.

Half of the clams in the steamer bag were unopened and clearly not safe to eat. The handful of clams that safely opened after steaming had an off color. The inside market area has a funky smell, not confidence inducing when eating seafood. My cousin said his fish & chips were the worst he has ever had. The staff also rolls their eyes if you ask for extra sauces or have questions. I would avoid this place like the plague.

We've spend a couple short holiday's on Martha's Vineyard and a top priority stop for us is a dinner from The Net Result. Whether you are eating it right there at the picinic tables or packing it to go you can't go wrong. Best to get there a bit early to avoid long lines and waits, but you won't be disappointed.

The entire week on Island and all I needed that I really didn’t know I need was The net Result. Honestly….if I just went here everyday I would have been a happy camper. After doing endless research on where to get the best lobster roll, The Net Result was never the top of the list, but it made the cut. Why did it make the cut? Because they have everything you ever need…..Sushi, rolls, wraps, fries, fresh seafood. Salads. Seaweed salads, kimchi, you name it this PLACE HAS IT. And they are damn good. We got two lobster rolls, one butter one Mayo. Also got seaweed salad, spicy salmon sushi and a chipotle shrimp wrap. All were mouth watering and I wish I didn’t go on the last day cause I’d do it again and again. The chipotle shrimp wrap was honestly better then the lobster roll….sorry not sorry. Thank you for the amazing food!

Biscuits is a popular breakfast and brunch spot located in Oak Bluffs, MA. Known for its long lines, it's recommended to arrive early or be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes. The cafe and bakery offer great food, making the wait worthwhile. Visitors can enjoy their meal on the covered porch while soaking up the charming atmosphere of Oak Bluffs. If you're in the area, Biscuits is a must-visit for a delightful breakfast or brunch experience.
I know some of the reviews here are not so good but I had a fantastic breakfast at Biscuits. The staff are brilliant. The American diner style food was amazing. They have a slightly older clientele but this was shoulder season and you know the grey hairs seek value and quality.

Delicious food with huge portions. We ordered the hash and biscuit breakfast. The server was amazing and really attentive. The wait was 45 minutes but 100% worth it!!

I had great food and service. The atmosphere was family friendly the host and servers were very friendly. I have to say the cheesy grits were my favorite. The home fries were made like nothing ive had before, it was amazing. They tasted like home.

Travellers, this is a small, charming and yummy breakfast restaurant. The menu is large with a variety of selections including eggs Benedict on cod cakes and chicken sausages offered for breakfast. The eggs Benedict on cod cakes was delicious but needed a fresh component to break through the fat. The cod cake was perfectly cooked and so was the poached eggs. It came on a fluffy biscuit. Service is with a smile so if you’re in the area check it out. We recommend.

This place was 100 percent worth the wait! Some tips, just wait because the line goes faster than he you think! The pictures DO NOT the food justice but its sooo good! The bisquit benedict was sooooo good! It was well seasoned! Please keep in mind there is no actual bathroom in the restaurant ! Use restroom before hand but its worth it! The owner was sooo nice! He even took a picture with us🥰

Can't say enough good things about the biscuit breakfast sandwich. I ordered takeout on a whim and received a sandwich to make McDonald's weep. Not too dry, not too fragile. The accompanying home fries are smashed potatoes, and tasty. Also, I'm always enthusiastic about breakfast food served outside rigid breakfast hours. Prices reasonable for the island.

The Sweet Life Café is an upscale restaurant located in a tranquil space, offering seasonal New American fare sourced from the local area. With an ample wine list, it provides a delightful dining experience for visitors. The café is known for its delicious brunch menu featuring locally sourced items and excellent service. It has become a popular spot in Oak Bluffs, Martha's Vineyard, offering a variety of menu items that cater to different tastes.
We came here for an early dinner on a Tuesday night last week. The restaurant itself is super quaint and cute with a great outdoor patio adorned with string lights. We were seated on an indoor porch area which was great and felt super private for our group. Cocktail options were plentiful and delicious and the non-alcoholic almond lemonade was super interesting and good. For starters we ordered: House made foccacia with extra stracciatella Carrots with urfa chili & goat cheese - this was my favorite appetizer, great flavors and textures Risotto with sweet corn and shiitakes - this was fine, but a little on the bland side I ordered the pork chop for my main course with the sauce on the side. Absolutely loved the pork chop and thought the spaetzle and collards greens were the perfect accompaniment. Cute restaurant, good service, great food!

Dinner was spectacular and our server Filip was incredibly helpful with menu suggestions and recommendations. The outdoor garden atmosphere was cozy and serene. After almost 40 years of drinking martinis, this is the first restaurant/bartender that was able to make a genuine & proper James Bond Martini. The menu is a true testament to local and seasonal offerings, not just your typical tourist restaurant staples, you can tell that the chef goes out of their way to entice his audience with unique fare that is fresh and creative.

First time in Martha's Vineyard. Dine at The Sweet Life our server Chloe was amazing. But the true gym was the food it was delicious. I definitely would recommend Martha's Vineyard to anyone who wants to have a beautiful Point quiet and relaxing vacation here but if you want some sweet delicious food go to the Sweet Life, I heard Barack Obama even likes this place. Is definitely a thumbs up for me see why I call your attorney

Environment was on point. Service was surprisingly sub par for such a nice spot. Our server was good, but others didn't seem to quite understand restaurant etiquette. Scallop dish was yummy with the pomegranate seeds. Octopus was a bit charred, as was the focaccia but still pretty tasty. Pork belly was amazing.

Excellent restaurant in Oak Bluff. We started with the Negroni with Balsamic. Delicious. We share the focaccia, the mussels and mafalde. Each was wonderful. For mains, we had the sea scallops, tautog and pork chops. Each dish was fantastic and enjoyed by all. I highly recommend.

I have to second the sewage stench another reviewer mentioned!! It's absurd - it seems worse the closer to the bar you are on the patio. It wafts through whenever the back door opens which is constantly. Really disgusting. I was offended they sat me it what has to be known as the 'bathroom' seat and moved all the large parties to the far end where you're in the clear. Food-wise: I'm vegetarian and my waitress warned that the single option I had for entree would be less fulfilling than the meat courses for the same price. Not a good sign! If you are routinely getting feedback like that then do something about it; don't start dispensing 'beware' notices to guests before they eat. The sticky toffee pudding was served cold with a synthetic-tasting caramel. I asked for tea and they put such a small amount of water in the pot, it did not fill the tiny cup I was given and kept going cold. I had to repeatedly ask for more and could not leave the bag inside to brew since they kept having to replace it. It seemed like they didn't know how tea works.

The Sweet Life Café in Martha's Vineyard offers an exceptional dining experience. The atmosphere is inviting, and its prime location adds to its appeal. I started with the Iron Ranger cocktail, which was really tasty and well-balanced. The subtle hints of pineapple and almond enhanced the drink tremendously. The focaccia might have been the best bread I’ve ordered for dinner ever. Really flavorful, soft, and fresh. For the appetizer, I chose the HAMACHI CRUDO. It was incredibly fresh and melted like butter in my mouth. My entrée was the MAFALDE, featuring pistachio pesto, crab, asparagus, and anchovy pangrattato. The crab was soft and fresh, and the sauce was flavorful and delicious. I finished my meal with an espresso martini, a perfect end to a wonderful dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend The Sweet Life Café for friends, family gatherings, or a romantic date night. It's a spot I'd love to visit again.

The Port Hunter, located in Edgartown, is a vibrant restaurant with a focus on seafood and live music during the season. Since its establishment in 2012, it has become one of the most popular dining spots in the area. The restaurant's nautical-themed decor complements its seasonal menu, featuring delectable dishes such as Buffalo brussels sprouts with blue cheese mousse and fish tacos made with Vineyard flounder.
LOVE this spot. The food was amazing! And Molly, our waitress, was amazing. Our drinks came out super fast and the food was delicious!!!!! Highly recommend the Port Hunter.

Swung by early evening without a reservation and the staff very kindly found a way to make us fit a bit later on even though reservations were full. They were even able to squeeze us in within the hour we were hoping for. When we arrived, they proactively provided a menu for dietary restrictions, noting they had seen it in my Resy profile. Might seem minor, but this level of hospitality/service is no small gesture to me. Restaurant had a lively, casual vibe during dinner. A DJ started playing a bit later on which was really fun. Great experience all around!!

Best meal we have enjoyed while on the island! Oysters Rockefeller, whole fluke were both perfection. My wife had vegan tacos and brussel sprouts which she enjoyed. They prepared a kids meal for our toddler which was a big hit. Cocktails were also done well Our server, Molly, was not only skilled in her craft, she was a pleasure with a pleasant attitude. Maggie (hope I got her name right) was also very welcoming and accommodating. Wish we went here on our first night in town! Final thought, dine here for an exceptional meal and treat all staff with the respect they deserve.

Had to eat here twice on our time on the island because we wanted our last dinner to be just as good as our first! 10/10 food. Everything we tried was incredible. Tried the two specials. Scallops and fluke as well as the corn side. Preparation was great, flavor wasn’t lacking. All dishes were 10/10. The second night my fluke specifically lacked as much sauce as I had the first but it was still very flavorful (posted both pictures and realized how much bigger the second fish was to the first night 😅) . The portions for the fluke are HUGE. You will not be disappointed eating here.

The service is stellar. The ambiance is upscale yet comfortable. The food is not quite as good. We ordered raw oysters 4/5, fried calamari with banana peppers 3/5 (more calamari less banana peppers, even though the peppers was the tastiest part), chicken sandwich 5/5, and catch of the day scallops with risotto 4/5, and Dubai cheese cake 3/5. Good cocktail, beer, and wine choices.

I never write reviews, but I have truly never met a ruder staff that dislikes their jobs or their guests more. It’s a horrible reflection of Martha’s Vineyard hospitality and if I were the owner or manager I’d be taking a serious look at who was representing my establishment. Out of all the places you could go on the island, this would definitely not be a place I or any friends of mine would recommend. And we will absolutely be telling this to others. I highly recommend you take a good look at your staff and reevaluate.
Harper P — Google review
Great experience. I’m vegan and they provided me with many options (which aren’t all listed on the menu - so feel free to ask). They ran out of high chairs, and made the effort to go across the street to their sister restaurant to get one for our daughter. Service was excellent and food was delicious. 10/10
Kimberly B — Google review
This place is clearly very popular because there was a queue outside the restaurant before it opened for 5:30 p.m. dinner service on a very rainy Saturday night. Once open, the restaurant quickly filled up with diners. Tables tend to be closer together because of how busy it gets, and there are a lot of hard surfaces, meaning things can get a little loud. Service was the right level of attentive: staff were very friendly and they were good about clearing plates and utensils when it’s clear diners are done eating. The daily fish specials are posted on a chalkboard inside. Overall, the food was very good. The buffalo brussel sprouts with whipped blue cheese were very good but for $18? Feels steep. My husband enjoyed his tuna, which was served like an elevated poke bowl and had Asian influences. I got the seared cut cod special, and enjoyed the sweet corn and mushroom risotto that came on the side: it was appropriately warm and cozy feeling for the rainy day, and brightened by the bursts of sweet freshness from the corn.

Visitors can indulge in flavors like Chilmark Coffee while enjoying the cozy ambiance of the shop.
They had a very delicious and diverse selection of dairy-free options for ice cream! We tried all of them and thoroughly enjoyed each one. The flavor of the week, which featured raspberry, was my favorite.

Around 6PM I went in here for an ice cream and got one. Except the first lick had the ice cream in my hand, completely off the cone. I hadn't even left the counter yet. Then it was melted by the time I got back to the ferry (less than 5 minutes, and not even that hot out). By far the most depressing ice-cream-eating experience I've ever had. A fitting end for a disappointing day at Martha's Vineyard.

Mad Martha’s is an absolute must when it comes to ice cream. The second you step in, you’re hit with that classic, small-town charm—and the flavors do not disappoint. A special shoutout to the employee who recommended the Sinful Chocolate flavor. WOW. Rich, velvety, and decadent, it’s exactly what chocolate lovers dream about. Honestly one of the best scoops I’ve ever had anywhere

Probably some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had. It’s the legit real deal. Heavy, thick, creamy. Loved it!
Charlie M — Google review
The ice cream itself was okay, though it could’ve had a bit more flavor. But the watermelon sherbet — wow! It was absolutely amazing, tasting just like Sour Patch Watermelon candies but icy, refreshing, and totally thirst-quenching.
K P — Google review
Classic New England ice cream shop, lots of interesting flavors (both classic and unique), and plenty of space to queue and eat. The speed of service was lacking and they could add a few more staff members on shift at minimal cost to the business compared to how much additional throughput they'd have.

We strolled in on a Friday in October. The nice man behind the counter handled our party of six children so patiently. (Big decisions to be made, you understand.) Thank you! Absolutely delicious. Get the blueberry!

If you’re black then expect racist and biased service at this place. I had a prejudiced and frankly appalling customer service experience that I had at Oak Bluffs Mad Martha’s yesterday. The server who was working around 4pm on 8/9 was appallingly rude to both me and all of the other workers after I asked for a sample of the Cat Crunch flavor that is not common to ensure I liked it before buying. Every other customer being served (4 customers being served by 2 different servers on either side of me) were given a sample right in front of my face which is quite a normal gesture for an ice cream shop employee to do for a customer. These customers were treated with kindness and respect. The store was not busy with customers. Unfortunately when I then asked for a sample like the 4 other customers being served right next to me, this staff member proceeded to yell at me for asking for a sample and that I can’t have one, and when I pointed out that everyone else is holding a sample right in front of my face, she screamed at me and the other servers. The customer service from this employee was truly appalling and I will be leaving a 1 star review for your establishment unless the issue is somehow rectified. You tout inclusivity with a pride flag in your front door but yet you treat people of color with the utmost disrespect and differential treatment like we are still living in the Jim Crow era.

First time visiting Vineyard Haven. We arrived from Edgartown via bus early and decided to grab a bite for breakfast here. Order at the counter and they deliver to you. We sat outside to enjoy the people watching while eating. The food was good. Typical breakfast. Was a nice way to start the day.

Market section in front has lots of great options, including locally made items. Menu options are quite varied which is nice. The quality of the food is good, but not great. Fresh baked pastries are available but limited. They do have bagels too. Coffee is good and baristas know their game. They use locally roasted beans from East West I believe which is also nice. Front staff not very friendly.

Well stocked store with fresh menu, including breakfast all day, and cafe. We ordered a Red White and Green as well as a CAB, both prepared quickly and delicious! We also devoured a bag of the park truffle chips made in house. Ample seating inside, and they had a restroom for customers. Highly recommend!

I had a great experience at Waterside Market last summer, so I was excited to return this year, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The service felt apathetic this time around no greeting when it was my turn and the vibe was a little unkind overall. The Italian sandwich, which I loved last year, was poorly assembled and didn’t quite justify the high price point. The cold brew was OK, but not as smooth or flavorful as I remembered. Could’ve just been an off day, so I’m willing to give it one more shot, but definitely left disappointed this time.

We went for breakfast and we had the classic breakfast and cinnamon french toast, both tasty. We enjoyed sitting on the patio while we ate.
Pam C — Google review
The food was good, and the lobster roll was wonderful. Unfortunately, the service was a failure. When the person taking your order laughs at you while speaking to a coworker because you simply asked a question and does so in the rudest way possible, that is unacceptable. As the face of the restaurant, you may want to consider taking a closer look at your team and get back to the basics of properly treating your customers.

I had the pleasure of grabbing breakfast takeout and lattes from Waterside Market in Vineyard Haven, and it was an absolute delight! The breakfast options were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly portioned. The bagels were toasted just right, and the pastries were a wonderful treat. The Terrace at the Charlotte Inn in Edgartown is a sophisticated bistro offering patio seating and serving farm-to-table American cuisine, including steak and seafood. Its formal ambiance is highly praised without being overly formal. The restaurant excels in providing classic American dishes along with an extensive selection of cocktails. Visitors have particularly enjoyed their lobster bisque, which was rich and filled with generous pieces of lobster, as well as the perfectly cooked ribeye steak.
Absolutely loved my experience at The Terrace. I came with 3 girlfriends on a Wednesday night at 6:30. The Charlotte Inn itself is incredibly charming and cozy with dark interiors and an eclectic collection of art and knick-knacks. We checked in at the hostess stand and were taken directly to our table. The dining space definitely evokes the feeling of being on the terrace even though it is enclosed. Do note that the space can be quite warm. Service throughout the evening was efficient and attentive. Cocktails came out quite large and quickly. For dinner we started with the cheese plate and the potato gnocchi which was absolutely divine. For my main course I had the Statler chicken which I really enjoyed but was suuuuper garlic heavy. I only mention this in the event that you are in a hot date. Cannot wait to come back!
Maggie J — Google review
While the ambience is delightful, and the service impeccable, the food didn't meet our expectations. My salad ingredients were fine, but the dressing was sour. My lamb wasn't the melt-in-your-mouth kind that the $70+ price tag justifies, and my wife's lobster tail was chewy. The dessert was delicious, making for a happy ending, but a disappointing experience. The following evening our meal at the Outermost Inn reminded us that an excellent meal can be enjoyed in a lovely setting and with attentive service.

The Terrace & their staff was the highlight of our time in Edgartown. We experienced one of the best meals that we have had in a while. The attention to detail and quality of service was second to none. We even came back for a second evening - they remembered us, our lovely conversations from the night before and even our orders (the gnocchi and martinis were so great we repeated the meal two nights in a row). We loved learning about the hotel, its history, and the way in which this is a special passion project for the owner - it truly shows in every detail. We appreciate the neat dress code as well as the reminder when calling to confirm the reservation. Vince was particularly hospitable. He went above and beyond in helping us feel welcome and even arranged for us to enjoy drinks prior to our reservation in a beautiful corner of the hotel.

A True Gem on Martha’s Vineyard – Refined, Relaxed, and Remarkably Delicious** The Terrace is hands down our favourite spot on the island. It strikes a rare balance: refined without being stuffy, elegant without an ounce of pretension. Think English country club charm meets island calm — it’s beautiful, unique, and instantly welcoming. The patio is pure magic — a serene escape from the Vineyard buzz, perfect for long dinners and easy conversation. The food? Simply the best we’ve had on MVY. Every dish is thoughtfully prepared, full of flavor, and presented with care. This isn’t just another “nice meal out” — it’s the kind of dining experience you remember long after the trip is over. A huge part of what makes The Terrace special is the team. The waitstaff, many of whom come from Europe, are exceptional — smart, attentive, genuinely kind, and effortlessly professional. And then there’s Vincent, the manager, whose European charm and watchful eye elevate the whole experience. He makes you feel like a regular from your very first visit. Whether you’re celebrating something big or just want an evening that feels like a treat, The Terrace delivers — every time. It’s not just fine dining; it’s dining done right.
Christopher M — Google review
What a vibe! It was one of the best experiences ever and definitely what we needed as someone who is working and living in a busy seasonal place. The food and drinks were nothing short of exceptional. Every dish we tried was beautifully presented and full of flavor, clearly crafted with care and high-quality ingredients. The wine selection and cocktails were equally impressive—thoughtfully curated and expertly mixed. The atmosphere is intimate and serene, with a timeless, old-world charm that sets it apart from anything else on the island. The décor is exquisite—classic yet cozy, with rich details that make you feel like you’ve stepped into another era. It’s the kind of place that instantly makes you slow down and savor the moment. If you have time, you should have a drink in the green room, before or after dinner, just to reflect a little bit. What really elevates The Terrace, though, is the staff. Warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming, they strike the perfect balance between professionalism and friendliness. From the moment we arrived until the last course was served, we felt truly cared for. We are thankfull for everyone. This is not just a restaurant—it’s an experience. If you’re on Martha’s Vineyard and looking for something special, The Terrace at the Charlotte Inn is a must. 10/10

Absolutely delightful hotel and restaurant. From the ambience to the service we felt so welcomed and cared for. The prices definitely match the quality and the Dover sole was probably one of the best dishes I have had in my life, and I have been to over 30+ Michelin star restaurants. The staff was so welcoming and helpful without the feeling of pretentiousness. That is a delicate line to walk and they walked it with grace. Will come again!

A very subpar meal with wonderful ambiance. The terrace tables were in a lovely setting next to the fountain. The inside was well decorated with antiques. The food, however, was borderline bad and the entire experience was not worth the high cost. Their pretentious dress code and cold staff would be something I could look past if the food was actually good but we were all left very disappointed. The scallops were extremely salty, making them hard to eat. The chicken was the most insulting $56 dish I have ever seen. It looked so unappetizing which the rice, diced chicken, and sauce that were all the same color. The lobster was nothing special. Two in our party ordered the lamb medium rare and both were well done. It was easy the worst lamb dish we have ever been served. While the property is lovely, it is not worth the ridiculously high prices for poor food. We would not return.

I recently revisited this restaurant after having a great experience there about a year ago. While the atmosphere remains absolutely stunning—beautifully designed and a pleasure to be in—the food and drinks were unfortunately disappointing this time around. The dishes felt overpriced for what was served. There was little to no attention to presentation, and the flavors were nothing special. The flounder dish, in particular, tasted like something from a budget diner—not what you’d expect given the upscale setting and prices. As for drinks, they were just as underwhelming as I remembered from our last visit. I ordered an Old Fashioned and was served a glass filled to the brim with ice, rather than the expected large, single cube that preserves the drink’s integrity. It felt careless. It’s a shame because this place has real potential with its incredible ambiance. Sadly, the culinary side doesn’t live up to it .

Nestled in the charming town of Vineyard Haven, Little House Café is a cozy haven for food lovers seeking comfort and flavor. This delightful café serves up an array of heartwarming global dishes, freshly brewed coffee, and caters to various dietary preferences with its veggie and gluten-free options. While many flock here for their scrumptious baked goods or the beloved falafel at lunchtime, it’s also a perfect spot for an early winter dinner.
This is a place when you want a bit quieter place on this busy island during the summer. Very interesting and international menu. Beet and arugula salad very good. Lamb burger very nice and comes with Greek salad (which I will substitute for chips, since there lots of tomatoes on the burger) Salmon very good. Polite, fried and sweet staff.

Had the fish tacos. It was mostly tomato. The iced chai latte was decent. Went because of the reviews but I was a bit disappointed. Two tacos, mostly tomato, chai latte $37 total….

Visiting Martha's Vineyard for the first time. Love the area. The island is beautiful. Did a search for places to eat and found Little House has great reviews so we decided to try it out. Definitely didn't disappoint. The food was spectacular. Truly enjoyed our food and the service was great. I had the fish tacos and my husband had the tenderloin tacos. Really wanted to try the chicken shawarma so we asked for a side of it and a side of Tahini sauce. Everything was absolutely delicious. We didn't have dessert as we were going exploring around and opted to try something somewhere else. Highly recommend a stop here.

I rarely review things. It either has to be “that good” or “that bad”. Unfortunately, Little House Cafe was “that bad”. We were initially attracted to the restaurant because we could sit outside with our dog. You go inside, order takeout, and can use their picnic tables - perfect. I asked them to let us know when our food was ready and we’ll come grab it from inside. The woman taking orders said “come back in 15 minutes”. She was unable to peak her head outside the door and say “food is ready guys.” Too much effort. The food was bland, eggs over cooked and laughably expensive. I understand Martha’s Vineyard in general is expensive and im happy to pay those prices for quality food and service but this was awful all around. See attached picture of $75 (not exaggerating) breakfast. We were the only people there the entire time and it’s clear why…. This place must’ve gone down hill or we were there on a VERY off day. There’s lots of choices on the island - go literally anywhere else.

We were a party of 11 that dined in for brunch. They have enough space for a big party like us. The food was average. The shell of fish taco was neither soft nor hard so it was a surprise for me. They do serve fried and pan seared version of the fish tacos which is nice. The chicken kabab Thai fusion dish and chicken shwarma were probably the best dishes on the table. The lemonade was way too sour and the muffin we ordered here was not so fresh either.

Haven't had great experiences here but others seem to love it. I ordered the shawarma and my mother had the butternut squash salad. The salad looked appealing and appetizing and tasted really good. The shawarma had a strange fish like taste to it and was not very appealing to the eye. It kind of just unrolls and opens up when you unwrap the paper which makes it difficult and messy to eat. I ended up switching my shawarma for a pretty basic but tasty turkey sandwich. The woman at the counter was super friendly and helpful and was very nice in offering an exchange for something else that I was happy with.

When looking for a breakfast places we decided to get out of the busyness of the Port. We came across Little House Cafe that's a off the beaten-path. They serve up some traditional breakfast. Service is excellent and the place is clean. They do also have a takeaway and bakery attached to this venue. Prices are reasonable since you are at the *Vineyard*

It's ok. The service was good, nothing above and beyond and same goes for most of the food. With that said I will say their fish tacos weren't really seasoned at all, but besides that everything was fine. I recommend the salmon bagel.

Chilmark Tavern is a rustic yet sophisticated BYOB bistro in the quaint and quiet town of Chilmark. It offers a menu of creative, seasonal New American cuisine with a focus on using locally-sourced ingredients from New England farms. The restaurant's offerings include dishes like pasta with island littlenecks, veggie curry with Vineyard-raised shiitake, crispy fish and chips, burrata with island tomatoes, and pan-seared halibut.
Came on a Monday night for a 5:30pm reservation with 3 girlfriends. We came on the early side because we wanted to watch the sunset on the beach after dinner. The dining room was pretty sparsely populated when we arrived but both the main dining room and the outdoor patio had filled up by the time we left at 6:45. Since it’s BYOB, we brought a bottle of wine and a bottle of batched Negronis which our waitress quickly brought out glasses for and served. For dinner we started with the bread, special cheese starter and summer squash. I thought that the squash was really exceptional. For my main course I ordered the half chicken. It came with a side salad and was crispy, juicy and delicious. Two of my girlfriends got the chicken pot pie and said it was one of the best they ever had. The Buffalo Brussels were also on point. The food here felt like having a great home cooked meal. Looking forward to coming back!

Blown away by the food and service. 10/10 recommend. My husband was only a week into his Celiac diagnosis when we visited Martha's Vineyard. We were concerned we wouldn't be able to find Celiac restaurants AND delicious meals. Chilmark Tavern delivered. Their Halibut dish was perfectly cooked with a bright broth and crispy spring veggies. Their duck was rich with a beautiful cherry sauce and skin was crispy crispy crispy. They even had an incredible gluten free crème brûlée which happens to be my husband and I's favorite dessert. We came with my 3 year old daughter and I'm sure they don't have any toddlers here yet they were so kind and accommodating. Our waiter went above and beyond making sure our meals were celiac safe and made toddler modifications. Oh and before I forget their mocktails were refreshing and it's hard to find a good mocktail that isn't overly sweet. I am very grateful for Chilmark Tavern!

I like the concept of this place, relaxed, easy, airy, yet with a bent towards sophistication, but there were several misses. First the hits... The mussels were very well done. The sauce was deep, rich and well executed. The big boxy bread was a treat - and the butter a perfect herb infused compliment. The fish and chips, a staple, had an excellent batter, but for nearly $50, was a bit of a eye watering price for two pieces of fried fish on a bed of fries. The fish that night, in an iridescent green broth, looked divine, but it was thin and rather bland. I heard the duck was well done, but didn't taste it. In general, if you come here, the service will be great, the prices astronomical, and the food overall solid to very good, the prices knock this down to a B overall.

This restaurant has a comfortable and welcoming vibe. The staff is attentive and superb; working as a team. The dishes are creative and always on point as are the cocktails/mocktails. I would highly recommend making a trip up island to dine here. BYOB but the basil martini is not to be missed, nor the hot fudge sundae! Go to Resy now!

A fancy, expensive restaurant with genuinely good food. I had the pasta with cream sauce, and the portion was much more generous than I expected. A couple people with me raved about the fish. Dessert was a shared creme brulee, which was a little toasty in flavor. Overall, a good meal. Reservations are a must in the summer. Be warned: it's BYOB, with a corking fee for wine bottles.

We stayed in Aquinnah this past week. First night we needed to find a place to eat. Called here and was greeted by a very friendly person who made us a reservation for 7p. We got there right around 650. Parking was a little tough but we ended up in the market lot next door since they closed at 7. We were seated quickly outside. Great spot. Comfortable atmosphere. Very nice waitress. Menu had a lot to offer. Ended up ordering the squid, 2 orders of fish and chips and the steak. Food came out surprisingly fast but it was piping hot and very good. We all enjoyed our food, no complaints. Service continued to be great through out dinner. No alcohol in this town, we didn’t bring anything with us but you are allowed to BYOB which is cool. Pricing was on the higher side particularly the steak. Understandable for a nice restaurant in a quaint MA island town. With that said we were happy and left satisfied. From all the restaurants we ate at during our 4 day visit to MV I will say this was the best food especially the fish and chips. Well that’s it for now. Hopefully we see you again in a future visit! For those reading this i recommend this place!

Chilmark Tavern definitely defied my expectations. I came here simply because I’m staying in West Tisbury, and by the time I had checked in to my hostel it was one of the few places still open nearby. I saw “tavern” and figured it would be typical tavern fare, but it definitely is not. It’s an upscale and expensive restaurant, and the food and service were both incredible. Be aware that it is BYOB, I was an idiot and ordered a virgin paloma not realizing that. It’s probably the closest to fine dining I’ve ever been, although the dinosaur coloring pages at the bar undercut that a bit. While fine dining isn’t really my style, I was very happy with my experience. Never had I experienced so much order regret at a restaurant before, and it’s not because I didn’t enjoy what I had but just that I wanted to try so many things on the menu. I had a ricotta toast special and tuna tartare, both were supremely presented, thoughtfully flavored dishes. The price is quite steep, but I have no regrets.
Ben R — Google review
Had a great experience here. The atmosphere was really casual, but nice; the service was 5 stars; the menu was really inventive. Four stars overall because, even though the food was very unique, it didn’t deliver as much flavor as I would have liked. The pasta dish pictured here was good, but not great; the scallops were good, but again, not a great overall dish (although they were cooked nicely). The place is BYOB—$14 corking fee for a bottle of wine—which I think is very reasonable. Overall, prices are fair. I’d go back to try some other things, but for now, I’m fairly impressed!

Nestled in the picturesque town of Edgartown, MA, Dock Street Coffee Shop is a cherished gem that embodies the essence of a classic coffeehouse. With its no-frills approach, this cozy spot serves up hearty breakfast options that are sure to satisfy any morning craving. As you step inside, you're enveloped by the delightful aroma of freshly brewed coffee and sizzling bacon wafting from the diner-style counter.
Later light breakfast was the goal and DSCS did not disappoint. As the pickiest customer there is, i ordered a egg, cheese and ham on an english muffin... BAM... out of the park!!! Home fries were okay, but very hot and the coffee did not disappoint. Seating is limited to maybe 12-15 (didnt really count) so you might wait or have to accept take out...but do not miss this gem!!!

Full disclosure, we love DSCS. Very consistent small diner food, breakfast and lunch. Good eggs, great Monte Cristo, great bacon, hash from a can (brings back fond childhood memories), excellent burgers and hot dogs (get there early-closes at 1:30), yummy sausage links, all served by real island folks with interesting stories. On the pricey side for sure, but it’s just off the harbor and, hey, it’s vineyard tax compliant - everything here is basically a king’s ransom. Very limited seating, but well worth it for the Dock Street Experience!

Awesome diner with good food and great people. The staff was very friendly and seemed like they genuinely loved what they did. Especially the very energetic and seemingly in charge woman that was directing the rest of staff while she cooked. It was an enjoyable atmosphere with very reasonable prices. I had the French toast and bacon. It was more food than I expected. I left very satisfied. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

A hidden gem in Vineyard Haven. We had early appetizers and their specialty cocktails. Great on both, particularly the cocktails. Combine that with a view of VH Harbor (see pic) and you have a lovely afternoon. We’re finding time for a dinner. Strong recommendation: go!

Made reservations the night before while on a sailing charter. Super easy place to get to from the water once you know where it is, a dinghy dock right in front is super helpful. Dinner was amazing start to finish. Our Waiter was top knotch and the somm was on point. Great menu that was well executed, and a great wine list that was super fun to explore. We will be back when we come around again. We had local oysters, Tuna Poke, Halibut Hamachi, beetroot gnocchi, mussels, a super cool carrot dish for 1st and second courses. We then had Char, Sea Bass, Halibut, Scallops. Each one was spot on. The Scallops were some of the best any of us had every had. The fish dishes were all great with perfectly cooked fish and interesting flavors complementing the fish. Highly reccommend!

This is a magical place!! The food was delicious! The servers were attentive, warm, and friendly! And the atmosphere is wonderful. The restaurant manager, Phoebe, couldn’t have been more pleasant. She is beautiful and was exceptionally welcoming to us as guests! Garde East was a great dining experience and we will be back!

We decided to dine at Garde East for dinner after a great interaction with the hosts earlier in the day. While the lunch menu didn’t quite fit what we were looking for, the staff was so friendly and offered fantastic recommendations for other spots. We returned for dinner, and we weren’t disappointed. The waterfront view was spectacular, but the real highlight was the exceptional service. Isak and the manager went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. When one of our dishes didn’t meet expectations, they were quick to address it with professionalism and care, ensuring that the rest of our meal was flawless. It’s rare to experience such attentive, thoughtful service, and it truly made the evening memorable. We’ll definitely be back!

We had an exceptional experience at Garde East, we need to make sure this restaurant is on our heavy-rotation list. Every dish was exceptional, service was perfect, and the view is perfect. I especially love how bright an airy it is, and how there are several dining rooms so it doesn't feel like you're fighting to have a conversation over so many other tables. The food took a bit longer than they had anticipated...honestly we didn't even notice, we had a great time, but they proactively comp'd items for us which was not necessary but so appreciated.

Town Bar and Grill MV, situated in Edgartown, MA, USA, is a popular dining spot offering various options to cater to different customer needs. The restaurant provides a dine-in service with a relaxing and comfortable environment and attentive staff. It's just minutes away from downtown and offers creative comfort food, fresh sushi, seasonal craft cocktails, and draft beers.
While biking on the island, we picked this place as it's along the bike trail and the price review is not about $50 per person. I was surprised to see they have sushi counter and menu, but we didn't bother. The portions were good for the island price. Presentations were nicely done as well. I had the shrimp scampi. Fresh and plump shrimp. Freshly made fettuccine. It could use a pinch of extra salt to bring out the flavor which I did. My wife had the pork chop. Very nicely done, tender and juicy. Great flavor. Kids shared popcorn chicken and chicken tacos. Both very flavorful. The taco had salsa with bacon bits, and that was a nice touch.

Very nice looking sports barish. Sat at the bar and the bar tender was very friendly and helpful. He suggested great beers and was very good at his job. We ordered our food and it came out quickly and hot! I ordered the fish sandwich and the tomato in the sandwich was bigger than the actual fish. The small pieces of fish there were in it did taste excellent. The fries were on point. Father in law order the popcorn chicken which is just cut up chicken strips. They were good just not what was expected. The service was great, the location is great, but the food could use a little step up compared to other places on the island. Will definitely give it a try again in the near future. Looking forward to it.

We went for lunch around 1:30-2pm on the Sunday after July 4. The chef was taking shots with his friends at the bar and the waitress was making out with someone. Horrible unprofessional service and atmosphere. We sat at the bar and was barely attended to. Don’t waste your time going here. In a response to the owner- I’ve been coming to the island for years. We went to TownMV, I didn’t get the place confused, just accidentally thought it was Monday but we went on Sunday July 6. You may want to reevaluate your staff. They were taking shots of grand marnier, happy to provide other details

Mother's day brunch. We usually dine at Lola's each year. They went out of business. We like the buffet style for brunch. I saw mention of Town having that. Called for a reservation. Mike guided me to that. Easy parking. Walked in the door. Great decorations. Clean and stylish. They even have a pancake machine. The buffet was a bit small but had more than enough to fill our plates. Our table was a bit wobbly. The service was great. Its new. Room for improvement. I look forward to our next visit.

Nice outdoor sections with lots of seating. Seems like more of a sports bar inside, but the outside made for a very nice location for brunch. The road is right there but it’s good people watching. Food was not bad, nothing exceptional but at the same time nothing was off. Basic brunch egg options, salads, and sandwiches. Service was good.

I was told by a local that this place had some great food. After riding my bike all day long from place to place I was in need of a good fillng meal. I asked how the half roasted chicken was and was told by the bartender that people come here just for that. So that's what I ordered and I'm glad I did because it was delicious and I was full. Chilmark General Store is a charming old-fashioned market that offers island-grown produce and a variety of food options. It's known for its lively covered porch with green rocking chairs, making it a popular spot for grabbing a slice of pizza from their extensive menu or engaging in some local gossip. Situated on the way to western beaches and Aquinnah, it's an ideal place to stop for a picnic or grab takeout.
Unique selection of goods. A bit pricey but to be expected on Martha’s Vineyard. Great pizza and excellent sandwiches and wraps. Perfect oat milk matcha.

Cute general store! We stopped in to pick up lunch on the way to Larsen’s because I don’t eat lobster. The store has a good selection of groceries but I was there for the prepared foods. Lots of choices for salads, sandwiches and ready to heat meals. I opted for the Greek salad and a slice of veggie pizza. I was a little disappointed to find out the veggies on the pizza were just tomatoes, so basically a Margherita pizza with pesto. The salad was fresh and had a good dressing on the side but I thought the pizza was only ok. Still a great grab and go option.

A True Martha’s Vineyard Gem! The Chilmark General Store is the heart of the community and an absolute treasure on Martha’s Vineyard. Whether you’re grabbing a fresh coffee in the morning, picking up one of their legendary pizzas, or just browsing the well-curated selection of local goods and essentials, this place has everything you need. The porch is the perfect gathering spot — relaxed, welcoming, and full of island charm. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the vibe is as authentic as it gets. A perfect stop for locals and visitors alike. Can't wait to go back!
Grace H — Google review
Nice general store with provisions, goodies, swag, and a coffee shop with artisan pizzeria. The coffee is excellent. The pizza is really solid: nice dry crust that's chewy and crispy and flavorful in all the right ways, and a decidedly "New York slice" blend of sauce and cheese. Each pie we ordered came out splendidly, and I'm told the gluten free crust was much better than average for that category. Be warned: prices are steep because this is an island. Our three pizzas cost about $90.
Ed H — Google review
I rarely write reviews but I was very disappointed by my experience here. It wasn't the pizza (which was solid) or the staff (who were lovely) but rather some management decisions. I arrived from the beach and asked to use a restroom before eating my pizza. Their only restroom option for customers is a port-a-potty in the parking lot that has no running water, soap, or hand sanitizer. That's extremely inappropriate for an eating establishment - a food safety hazard. To add insult to injury the port-a-potty was padlocked shut and required a massive key - something I might expect to see in a high traffic downtown somewhere, but not in a tourist community. Finally, when they were closing, a customer asked for some ice right around 7pm and one of the staff members looked around anxiously before letting her in to get some, suggesting that she was happy to help but it was against some draconian company policy. All in all, I think the management of this place should seriously consider whether they want to be in the customer service business. If they do, they need to completely rework how they make decisions like this, with what will actually serve customers at the center of those decisions.
Matt T — Google review
I would really like to say something nice, unfortunately, we had a not so good experience here. My parents and I stopped by this store while exploring the area and ordered 3 slices of pizza and 2 cups of hot tea. The pizza slices seemed old and the crust was tough—maybe a whole fresh pizza would’ve been better. After a long day of walking, we asked for a simple refill of hot water for our tea cups. A young staff member was initially willing, but after a word from an older woman (likely the manager), she told us they don’t do tea refills. I asked if we could pay for just hot water, and after some hesitation, the young staff member kindly gave us the refill without charge. I appreciated her willingness to help, but I was disappointed by the manager’s refusal—especially since it was just hot water for my 80-year-old dad. A little kindness goes a long way. I hope she would not treat other old people this way.
Meiqian H — Google review
Extortion! You expect everything on the Vineyard to be expensive, but this shop charges $16 for a little plastic carton of chicken salad, $12 for a bag of 5 cookies, $7 for a bag of chips that usually costs $2.50. We were hungry for lunch, but kept going when we saw the prices. Warning, take out a 2nd mortgage before you shop at the Chillmark General Store!
စီၤ ထ — Google review
I had a disturbing experience at the store an hour ago: in front of my friends and the deck, I was asked whether I had paid for the Grey Barn cheese I had, in fact, just purchased. No greeting, no apology—only the suggestion of theft Between my partner and me, and the friends and family we’ve brought here over 20+ years, I’ve spent a good deal of time and money at the Chilmark Store. I’d like to think that jeans and a hoodie are not sufficient grounds for a public inquisition What lingered was not the question but the choice to make a mini spectacle, when she could have simply consulted the employee who rang me up. Even when I said, “I paid for it,” my answer seemed beside the point—her tone did not change, as if the accusation existed independent of the truth. Bad look, Chilmark Store

Vineyard Scoops in Edgartown, MA is a delightful dessert spot offering a variety of sweet treats for those with a craving. From classic scoops of ice cream to indulgent sundaes, this charming establishment has something for everyone. The historic shopping district in Edgartown also offers an array of options including storefronts for popular brands like The Black Dog and Vineyard Vines.
I stopped by for ice cream twice last week with my husband and want to shout out the nice young lady who was working both evenings we visited! She was so friendly, welcoming, and helpful to us and our dog! The ice cream is good too (we tried the strawberry cheesecake, cookie dough, and other flavors), and the homemade waffle cones ($1.50 extra - a bargain for the quality) are the best ones we’ve ever eaten: they are buttery, decadent, and somehow don’t get soggy! In addition to hard ice cream, the shop also sells a variety of soft-serve ice cream flavors, a sugar-free hard ice cream flavor (coffee at the time we visited), some sorbet, and sodas. Overal, highly recommend! We will be back! Cash only and there is an ATM inside.

This was the only ice cream shop in Edgartown that we had yet to try so we decided it was finally time. The shop has never been very crowded when we walk by but on the evening of July 3rd (a Thursday), the spot was bopping. One of the main reasons for our visit was that this is one of the only places where you can get froyo in the area. We did not get ice cream so I can’t speak to that but the frozen yogurt was good. It wasn’t our favorite ice cream shop in the neighborhood and it was a little annoying that it’s cash only.

Loved it! Lots of classic flavors, topping and the star of the show - homemade cone. So soft yet crunchy, reminded me of childhood.
Anastassiya P — Google review
The ice cream flavors are excellent, and I especially recommend the homemade waffle cone. Unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by the extremely rude treatment we received from a young woman working behind the counter. I rarely ever leave reviews like this, but the level of unprofessionalism was beyond unacceptable. We arrived around 10 p.m. The doors were propped wide open, lights were on, music was playing loudly, and several other customers were inside. When we approached the counter, the woman greeted us curtly. When my partner asked for an extra moment to decide on a flavor, she snapped, “We’re trying to close,” and grimaced. I ordered the black sesame soft serve in a cone. She attempted to make it, then abruptly said the machine was broken, hitting it several times in frustration. Instead of offering an alternative, she just stared at me with a rude expression. My partner, so put off by her demeanor, decided not to order at all. When we paid, she tossed our change at us as we left. The ice cream itself was wonderful, but the hostility of the service completely ruined what should have been a pleasant evening walk in Edgartown.

Favorite ice cream spot on the island. Some of your standard flavors with TONS of others to try out. For those vegan or diary intolerant, THEY GOT YOU! Great spot. Quick service. Just note - cash only, so make sure to bring that cashola.
Natalie C — Google review
the "cash only" bit felt like a gimmick to get tourists to pay an extra $3.75 "convenience fee" for the ATM in their lobby, given that they didn't mention it until your ice cream dish was already prepared and served up at the counter. Once you add the fee, it was the most expensive cup of mediocre sherbet I've ever had on an island.

Sorbet ice cream ( wildberry and lemonade) both are good , they accept cash only and there is ATM inside their store. They have a variety of flavors and you can taste if you want.

A wide variety of Asian cuisine for the menu and is open year round on the island! Great customer service! Great ambiance and vibes at the restaurant. I really enjoyed the chicken wings and sushi that were ordered. The fish is good quality and fresh! My favorite was the spicy scallop hand roll! Everything is on point and highly recommend. Spacious dining area. There is street parking and within walking distance to other retails and beautiful view in the area. I highly recommend!

If I lived on Martha’s Vineyard all summer, I would eat here every day. Great vibe. Great food. Great service. You must get the Tiger roll !

I recently dined at Mikado, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, setting the perfect tone for a delightful meal. The restaurant exudes cleanliness and attention to detail, creating a comfortable environment for diners. The service at Mikado was truly outstanding. The staff was attentive, courteous, and entertained conversation, I sat in the bar area, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. They were prompt in taking orders and ensured that everything was to my satisfaction. One of the highlights for me was the soothing background music that enhanced the overall ambiance. It created a relaxing atmosphere, allowing me to savor my meal in a peaceful setting. I opted for the floral green tea, and I must say, the flavor is delightful! The tea had a subtle, yet distinct, floral note that complemented the meal perfectly. As for the main course, I chose the Kung Pao chicken, and it didn't disappoint! The dish was expertly prepared, with the perfect balance of spicy and savory flavors. The chicken was tender, and the accompanying vegetables were fresh and crisp, showcasing the chef's skill and attention to quality ingredients. Overall, my visit to Mikado was a memorable one, thanks to its excellent service from Cindy, pristine environment, inviting ambiance, and delicious offerings. I would highly recommend this restaurant to future visitors seeking a top-notch dining experience.

The food was great and the staff were all friendly. We had a relatively large group and they were able to seat us immediately. The food was delivered very promptly and we were kept replenished with liquids throughout our meal. I wasn't going to get a dessert but I ended up splitting the Fried Cheesecake with a friend. It. Was. So. Good! If you've never had fried cheesecake, I highly recommend it! The Chocolate Cake was delicious as well (I had to try a bite!) but don't expect traditional cake. It's more like a chocolate ganache throughout. Very rich and decadent! I hope to visit again!

An okay Asian restaurant with prices adjusted for the area. Moo sho was great, beef curry was good, seafood delight was okay overall but scallops weren’t fresh. Waitress was polite but didn’t do anything about scallops that didn’t smell right. Restaurant is clean inside. They only have one kind of boba. Probably won’t be back here, but might be worth giving a chance.

Decent Japanese food and good service, but they have fish in a tank who really, really need a water change ASAP! They’re going to die if their nitrates are that high! Please, please take care of that tank so they can thrive!

The food here is OK. I go there often but I got very disappointed when I order the lobster day make their which is the reason I decided to give them 2 stars the lobster taste good but they don’t give you the whole lobster as it’s supposed to be. I probably got only half of it and they charge $48 for This which I think is very expensive for half of the lobster that day end up giving you I wouldn’t mind paying $48 if they gave you the whole lobster the way it’s supposed to be.

We ordered the Sweetheart Roll and the Tuna Pizza. Both were enjoyable. Nothing to write home about but if you're hankering for sushi, this place is your best bet for it in the off season/shoulder season on MV.

Salvatore's Ristorante Italiano is a popular year-round Italian restaurant located on Martha's Vineyard. The restaurant celebrates authentic Italian cuisine and hospitality, offering a variety of imported meats, fresh burrata, and homemade pastas. Chef Salvatore della Torre, originally from Naples, brings his passion for cooking to the restaurant after working in Italy, Paris, and Martha's Vineyard. The menu is inspired by Napoli with a focus on traditional Italian dishes.
Let me start by saying the food was very good but limited selection on the menu. We had the pasta dishes and salad as a min and the food was very good but the price was high for what you get. The seating outside was very nice but tight for four. The bread was fresh and warm and the food came out quickly. The dishes were good portion sizes and fresh again the rice was very high for what you get. I would recommend it but be ready to pay.

This restaurant deserves 5 stars across the board. We were the first ones in yesterday and from stumbling upon the restaurant mistakenly to eating our meals, everything was outstanding. I don’t ever write reviews but this was such a good meal experience. We were nicely greeted and served delicious drinks (highly recommend Peartini and Islander). We love Italian food so we could be quite critical but wow the food was delicious. The homemade gnocchi, spaghetti, and squid ink vongole all were stars on their own. We were so satisfied with this meal and I want this restaurant to get the credit it deserves! Again we stumbled upon this and were so happy we found it. We will return next year when we visit the island again.

Great restaurant. I met some wonderful folks at Mint golf course that recommended the restaurant. Had the black linquini with shrimp and it was delicious. The linquini with clams was wonderful as well as the lobster ravioli. Only complaint is that the balsamic vinegar I used with the bread tasted low rate and not aligned with the other eats.
Martin B — Google review
Salvatore is a fantastic chef. The portions were large and delicious. The Veal was next level, and perfectly seasoned and when combined with the truffles mushroom risotto, rich and satisfying. The chicken was a bit plain, but the gnocchi was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. If you go to this restaurant, you won’t be sorry. Salvatore, “you’re going to need a bigger restaurant!”

Perfect choice for our group of 4. One person in or group had Alphagal which means we had to find a place that had dishes free of mammalian ingredients. And boy was this a good choice. Shared perfectly fried calamari, squash blossoms and zucchini as appetizers. A gratis basket of warm bread and olive oil was delish for us carb eaters. I opted for seafood as I usually do when I'm near the source. In this case local clams with a house made squid ink pasta! 🦑🍝 Patio dining in August is something I 💯 recommend while I'm Vineyard Haven. We were too full to attempt dessert but next time! There will be a next time!

We had such an amazing experience in this restaurant, from start to finish. Walked in, not expecting anything, but food was delicious, and nicely presented. Our server Nešo was excellent. Great conversationalist and knew every answer to the question we had about the menu and the general area of Martha's Vineyard.

The Pawnee House MV is a laid-back eatery located in Oak Bluffs, Martha's Vineyard. It offers a variety of typical dishes and cocktails, including gluten-free options. This local tradition is known for its Caribbean cuisine and is popular among both locals and visitors. The menu features comfort food favorites like French toast and vegan skillet for brunch.
Growing up summering on the vineyard every year, you find yourself returning to the classic restaurants. However, this restaurant was a surprise find! The food was fresh and amazing! Making a reservation, if you can, is a must! We will be back for sure!

This is one of the best places I've ever eaten! The food was excellent, the atmosphere was great, and the service was also very good. The only reason I gave it four stars is that my drinks should have arrived before my meal, and the drink service was a bit slow. Other than that, it's a fantastic place with amazing food, and I had one of the best lemon drop martinis I've ever tasted!

Pawnee House is one of those spots that instantly makes you feel at home - thanks in large part to Alex, who welcomes you like family the moment you walk in. His cocktails are incredible - thoughtful, balanced, and full of personality. We shared a bunch of plates, each one beautifully done, but the standout for me was the vegan crab cakes. I snapped a photo, but honestly, it doesn’t even begin to do them justice - crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside, with an insanely good aioli. The whole experience was warm, delicious, and full of heart. Pawnee House is a must if you’re on the island.

Had an early Sunday dinner here on memorial day weekend. I highly recommend making a reservation because this place fills up! We had an excellent meal. The cocktails, apps, mains and dessert were all equally delicious. I had the Salmon Wellington (photo below) and my friend had the special of the day. Our server was delightful and attentive and the atmosphere was very quaint and funky with local artists lining the walls. They have lots of vegan options if that's something you are after...get the vegan chocolate Cake! It's to-due for!

Best (Korean short rib) tacos my son has ever had in his life. He was talking about them all night. My chicken souvlaki bowl was delicious. Discovered this restaurant from the Find Me Gluten Free app. Appreciated that everything was clearly labeled. Cost more than we normally pay off the island for dinner but worth the price as a treat for us. We were able to walk in because we went mid-week right when they opened, but it was shortly full. I’d recommend making a reservation.

Incredible! Definitely my favorite spot on the Vineyard right now. The food is beautifully crafted and delicious. The chef is extremely talented and it's a blast to eat her food. There are plenty of vegan/vegetarian dishes that are inventive and tasty so I can go back again and again and order different things. The staff are super friendly and make you feel like a regular the first time you go in. Also, I love the vibe there. The lighting is warm but not too bright and the design touches are comfortable but stylish. Finally, it has the best three top table I've ever seen!

Great meal! The place is small and very busy. I felt very bad for Alex the host! There were many Karens trying to use their privilege and asking for a table without a reservation even after he told them there were none. Two women even asked if he could ask people sitting at the bar to get up early to accommodate them! Very poor taste and Karens being Karen. Aside from that food was great. Our waitress got one item of our order wrong but we were accommodated with a free dessert so it all worked out. Also mixed drinks were made strong so a plus! Salmon Wellington excellent and beet and goat cheese stack great and the shishito peppers were roasted to perfection. Strawberry shortcake so good with the homemade biscuit! All together a great meal. But please If want to dine in the summer make a reservation!

Visited here for dinner a few days ago, and absolutely loved it. More details below, but first, a quick summary. Drinks are all excellent. Food is very well cooked and all worth what they charge. Some dishes feel a little held back by the dedication to vegan ingredients. General thoughts: - Service was very attentive; I drink a ton of water and almost never had an empty glass, despite the small cups here. - Minor thing, but very important to me - the straws are waxed paper. They don't pollute like the plastic ones, and they don't stick to your lips and feel gross like the cheap paper ones. Super happy with these, please never change them. A little more granular, dish by dish - starting with drinks: - the Georgia On My Mind is my favorite drink here or anywhere on the island. It's very well balanced, and the pecan syrup gives it some delicious complexity. Will order this every time I come here. - the Yankee Swap is also very good, with great ube flavor that is strong, but doesn't quite overpower the rest. - the Careless Whisper wasn't our favorite. We thought it was good, but tasted a little too much like cough syrup. We think the IPA syrup's hoppiness was a little too much for the grapefruit. For small plates: - the asparagus flatbread was perfect. Cheese melted into the bread, which was very flaky. A little more arugula than we needed, but we all enjoyed this one. - the dumplings were very good, though for the price they could have brought a few more of their friends. Flavor was excellent, but we felt the wraps didn't bind quite right without the egg - slight downside to the vegan cooking. - the butternut soup was disappointing, even for someone who loves butternut. Was a little thin, could have used some cream to thicken and improve the flavor. Flavor was also a little one-dimensional, which we feel could be helped by adding just a little bit of red pepper or some other herbs. Finally, on the mains - - Chicken pot pie was unreservedly great. Not crazy special ingredients, just really well executed. Bigger portion than most of the things here, too, if that's of interest. - Salmon Wellington was very good, well seasoned and delicious. Unique dish, worth a try for sure. Maybe could use a dab more sauce? Happy with this one, too. Desserts we had were all worth it. I'm pretty adamant this has been the best restaurant I've been to in Martha's Vineyard. Looking forward to see how they evolve over time!

Katama General Store is a delightful one-stop shop that caters to all your picnic needs, especially if you're planning a day at South Beach. With an impressive array of fresh provisions, you can enjoy made-to-order sandwiches and salads or grab something quick from the cooler for those on-the-go moments. Early risers will appreciate their selection of breakfast sandwiches paired with freshly brewed coffee.
Johnny knocks it out of the park with the finest lobster roll I have ever tasted! From the brioche bun to huge chunks of sweet, fresh lobster… a sublime combination! The best bites on Martha’s Vineyard, and well worth the drive to Katama. 🙏🏼

An excellent spot to grab snacks for the beach, a souvenir to take home, or even a meal after a day spent exploring the Island. It’s near South Beach, and I was thankful to stumble upon it after riding my bike from West Tisbury, enjoying the beach, and then heading up your way Edgartown. There’s everything you’d expect to find at a general store, along with a counter-service kitchen where you can get a great lobster roll, a smoothie, and more. While it is expensive, it’s not out of line compared with other spots on Martha’s Vineyard. They have a nice little outdoor dining area to enjoy if you don’t want to take it to go. While I didn’t get a souvenir, the T-shirts they sell taught me how to properly pronounce Katama, the cherry on top for me!

Hands down the best lobster roll on the island, simplicity executed to perfection. Johnny is clearly some sort of magician. Also the ideal stop for beer on the way to South Beach.

I remember when this place was barely a shack on the way to South Beach. Now, it's been immensely upgraded and offers everything from souvenirs and gifts to food...even sushi! But by far the best reason to stop is their lobster roll, which is the best I've ever enjoyed...tons of lobster on a brioche bun. A bargain at $32 (the price can vary).

Busy store on the way to South Beach. Sells general store goods, food and beach items, as well as having a thriving cafe business. Quite possibly the great lobster rolls on the island.
Nick W — Google review
The best burger and lobster roll we’ve had on MV. My toddler (who my wife fears is vegetarian) couldn’t get enough of the burger. The double pattie smash burger is well cooked and the toasted potato bun is perfect. While they’re not giving away the lobster roll, they are generous with the meat and the bun is nice and crispy. Two members of the family said it was their favorite lobster roll ever, one said it was his second favorite.

The Katama General Store has a great selection of snacks and lunches for the beach, but above all has great customer service. A group of 6 of us ordered sandwiches to go (to take to the beach) and when we got to the beach saw that one of the sandwiches was totally burned. After we were done with the beach we stopped back by and the managers (owners?) were extremely apologetic and immediately and without question refunded my money (and threw in a dessert to boot!). I would not hesitate to go again. Bravo for the excellent customer service. Also, the Cuban sandwich was amazing!

Located on Main Street in Vineyard Haven, Fish MV is a new seafood restaurant offering a vibrant menu and creative cocktails with stunning ocean views. The covered porch provides the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy some of the freshest oysters on the island paired with a refreshing watermelon margarita. With excellent offerings including oysters, ceviche, lobster roll, poke bowl, fish bowl, and fish sliders, this restaurant offers comfortable outdoor seating overlooking Tisbury Harbor.
Great menu (and toys!) for families with kids. Tacos, guac, and margaritas outside with a low key atmosphere. Food is good but not the best on the island. Great for a relaxed evening for the entire family.

Visited Fish MV in Vineyard Haven and left deeply disappointed by the food quality relative to the high prices. We ordered: • Maryland Crab Cakes ($26): These were the highlight of the meal — decently flavored and well-textured. However, they came with a limp, wilted side salad that looked like it had been sitting out too long. At this price point, you’d expect a fresher, more thoughtfully plated dish. • Fish & Chips ($28): The fish was overcooked and borderline burnt, with a batter that lacked seasoning. The interior was bland. It was served not with fries (as one might reasonably expect from a dish called “fish & chips”) but with a handful of tortilla chips, which felt like a cost-cutting substitution. The only redeeming element was the tartar sauce. • Tequila Lime Shrimp Tacos ($30): This dish was the most disappointing. The shrimp tasted pre-cooked and reheated, lacking any brightness or freshness. The tacos were heavily dressed with a creamy sauce that masked rather than elevated the flavor. The accompanying rice was over-salted and had dried-out bits that suggested it had been sitting in a pan for too long. The black beans were acceptable, but the side as a whole felt like an afterthought. All dishes looked more appealing in presentation than they tasted — the photos flatter them. Unfortunately, the flavor and freshness didn’t match. Waiting about 15 minutes between the starter and entrées wasn’t unreasonable, but combined with the underwhelming food, it added to the sense of disorganization. Ambience: Pleasant. The outdoor seating is cozy and inviting. Service: Adequate, neither warm nor inattentive. Bottom line: We paid $105 for a meal that, based on quality, should’ve cost closer to $30–$40. The ingredients felt generic, and the execution was careless. If you’re dining out in Martha’s Vineyard and are expecting seafood that justifies the price, this isn’t it.

Fish has always been a favorite, but it's truly stepped things up this year. The seafood is consistently excellent—fresh, flavorful, and prepared to perfection. What really stands out now, though, are the recent renovations. The new interior looks amazing, and I absolutely love that there's now a bar inside—perfect for those cooler days or when the weather isn't cooperating. Service has also seen a big upgrade. The waitstaff is fantastic—friendly, attentive, and quick to keep the drinks, chips, and guac flowing. It’s little touches like that that make the experience feel effortless and relaxed. Whether you're in for a full meal or just drinks and small plates, Fish delivers on all fronts. Highly recommend checking it out—you’ll be glad you did.

The patio space is nice… But the service was poor. You go up and order everything at once, rather than be waited on, which is already inconvenient when thinking about what you want to eat/drink for a meal, plus a full 18-22% tip is still suggested. I also found a very obvious hair in my clam chowder, to which the bus girl said, “oh ok” and just walked away, rather than suggesting a replacement or alternative. The chowder wasn’t even good. The crab cakes were fine.

The Attic is a cozy and inviting restaurant located in Vineyard Haven/Tisbury, offering excellent food and drinks with amazing service. The ambiance is warm and charming, making it a great spot to celebrate special occasions or meet up with friends. The menu features a variety of delicious options such as lobster & corn fritters, crispy sweet chili Brussel sprouts, chicken wings, asparagus, attic salad, smash burger with salad alternative, hand-cut fries, and mac and cheese.
The Attic in Vineyard Haven is truly a gem from the moment you walk in, the energy is welcoming, and the drinks are outstanding. Tully, the Beverage Director, is an expert at crafting the perfect cocktail, and the espresso martini is one of the best we've ever had. The entire staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and makes every visit feel special, whether you’re grabbing a casual drink or settling in for a full meal. As for the food, it’s everything you want and more. The burgers are juicy and packed with flavor, the mac and cheese is the ultimate comfort dish with the perfect balance of creaminess and richness, and the chicken wings are absolutely next-level — crispy, flavorful, and unforgettable. The Attic nails that perfect mix of great drinks, incredible food, and a laid-back but polished vibe that keeps you coming back again and again. Our party visited the Attic by recommendation for our friend's birthday celebration. So glad we could get a reservation the day before. The atmosphere was intimate, warm and inviting like a summer cottage. The food and drinks were soooo good. We shared the watermelon salad, muscles and warm bread to dip in the sauce and I personally had the baked chicken with mashed potatoes and sautéed summer squash & zucchini. Everything g was seasoned well and super flavorful. The portions were so bug I had leftovers for the next day. the Our waiter was incredible - friendly, accommodating, attentive and took the best pics of our group with the birthday girl. What shocked me most is how friendly the other patrons were. They asked if they could watch our stuff while we took pics, one senior lady offered to take our when we were waiting on our waiter to come back, and another older man ran after us when we went in another room for our pic to make sure we weren't forgetting our things at the table.

The staff was on top of everything and made the experience amazing from start to finish. The French dip sliders were absolutely perfect, and the mac and cheese was to die for! The Attic salad was fresh, loaded with goat cheese, and full of flavor. I had the American burger and it was cooked perfectly, juicy and delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and had a great old-style charm. Definitely a place I’d recommend and can’t wait to go back!

During a recent visit to The Attic Restaurant, I had the chance to explore a variety of items off their menu and I walked away already looking forward to my next visit. The meal began with a mix of appetizers and mains—Tuna Tartar, Attic Wings, Beets, Steak Au Poivre, Lobster Corn Fritters , Hot and Cold Lobster Rolls accompanied by drinks. The standouts for me were definitely the drinks, the Hot and Cold Lobster Rolls and the Steak Au Poivre of which all were incredibly flavorful and satisfying. The Attic Wings had just the right amount of kick, the Beets were cooked to perfection, rich and well-seasoned and the Lobster Corn Fritters were packed with flavored and served with a nice size of lump lobster. However, I thought the side of mashed potatoes did lacked flavor and texture, and the Tuna Tartar didn’t quite live up to expectations and wish there had been more avocado to help balance the taste. The rice was not prepared completely. Overall, the good definitely outweighed the bad. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, making it a great spot to unwind and enjoy good food with friends/family. The laid-back vibe, along with the service of Anthony the bartender (definitely ask for him to make your drinks) and Lobster rolls and Steak Au Poivre , makes The Attic Restaurant a place I’ll definitely be returning to.

We had a cardamon latte, vanilla latte, the big breakfast, the brown sugar challah french toast, and a side of sausage. Everything was perfection - fluffy biscuit, crispy mashed potato hashbrown, and some of the best french toast I've ever had (fluffy and custardy inside with crispy edges did not even need syrup, though the honey butter made it sing even more!). Could easily share one entree between two people, but was so happy to be able to try so many things. The lattes were perfectly made (and worth the wait for such a well done drink). Go here, try as many things as you can, you won't regret it.

Great coffee but a major wait time. It's crowded and small. If you sit, people will be breathing over you at your table. The coffee is worth the wait. The breakfast food looked amazing. Tell em Barsnobs sent ya!

This is the restaurant that spiraled me into my purple sweet potato powder drink addiction. I’d never even heard of it until I came here. It’s one of my favorite beverages now to this day. I got the Lebanese breakfast and my wife got the wrap. The food is light and delicious. The hash browns are the best we’ve ever eaten, they’re crisp patties that are fried. So good. We sat outside and got a great view to the street. Overall just a peaceful place and great way to start your day at the Vineyard!

I was looking for a breakfast spot on Martha’s Vineyard that had some gluten free options. We found Aalia’s through a Google search. I got the Lebanese Breakfast, which was mostly gluten free. It came with pita bread, which I gave to my husband. But the eggs were great. They came with a bed of arugula that was fresh and bright. The macha latte was beautifully crafted and delicious.

Aalia’s in OB is our go-to coffee spot in OB, full stop. Their cortados are dialed in; smooth, strong, zero bitterness! And the cardamom syrup is so, so good in it. Breakfast hits the sweet spot too: fresh, flavorful, and actually filling without being a brick. YOU NEED to try the hashbrowns. It’s also prime for people-watching on a slow morning or posting up with the laptop when you need to get stuff done, just… maybe not both at the same time. Friendly crew, (Oscar is a star) and a vibe that feels like Oak Bluffs in a cup. If you’re coffee-picky, this is your place! I live in Edgartown and love going to Aalia's!

i’ve been waiting years to find really good coffee in downtown OB and was thrilled to find Aalia’s on my last visit. the cardamom cortado was amazing! i circled back later that day to grab another cortado before heading to the airport because it was just that good! the location is perfect and the staff is friendly. 10/10

We were staying next door at the inn and this place was recommended for breakfast. My husband and I had been traveling for a while so we ordered the Lebanese breakfast and the beans for something different. It was delicious, didn’t feel heavy yet was very filling. Everything tasted fresh and healthy and the coffee was good too. I’m glad I found it on our first day because I have a feeling I’ll be coming back for breakfast and lunch for the next couple of days.

The food at this place is surprisingly outstanding. The Soft Egg Sandwich was the highlight of my entire week on the Vineyard! Seriously well done. Overall, staff were super friendly. There was just one guy making the cappuccinos who was a bit snide when I raved about my meal. Otherwise great experience.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience, look no further than The Pelican Club at the beautifully revamped Faraway Marthas Vineyard hotel. This charming venue seamlessly blends tropical and nautical vibes without crossing into kitsch territory. The menu is refreshingly healthy, featuring dishes like ceviche, crudo, and shareable sushi rolls that are perfect for keeping your energy up as you explore the nearby harbor.
Pelican Club has a fun, upbeat vibe that makes it an easy win for a family night out or casual hang. We were super impressed with the kids menu - my daughter crushed the chicken rice plate and gave it her full stamp of approval. The drinks were a major highlight for the adults - the shaken piña colada in particular was next-level smooth and tropical. It’s the kind of spot that balances good energy, solid food, and great drinks all in one. A go to for us!

Came here for lunch on Saturday afternoon with a large group. The hostess offered us two seating options which was great. Service through the meal was attentive and the vibe here is super laid back and nice. The menu is a touch limited and the portions were on the small side. Good option for lunch or cocktails in town, probably wouldn’t come for dinner.
Maggie J — Google review
The general vibe of this place was nice. Post dinner sushi / fish is a must for me. I liked that there was heat lamps for the chilly summer evening. The waitstaff were attentive and quick. Great place for friend date or date night. However, I was quite underwhelmed by the food, especially given the price for plates. I understand fresh means higher quality but Lordy $22 for a California roll is aggressive surcharge. Especially because the roll was barely filled. Sigh. The ceviche was also quick pricey and honestly needed more salt, red onions and lime. I like the wonton chips that came with it. My cocktail did not taste like any alcohol, which was disappointing too.

This place is easily my favorite on island to grab a drink and experience a vibey night. I first came in 2021 when they opened, they’ve expanded their footprint a lot more. Madia(?) was our server she was super sweet, quick, and attentive. My husband and I came for nibbles and cocktails before dinner. You need to make a reservation ahead of time as the place is super busy but worth the planning ahead. The menu could expand a bit and probably should have more traditional rolls, that’s my only knock on it. Otherwise I cannot wait to come back.

Very good quality eats in a backyard environment. We had a poke bowl and grilled shrimp that was excellent. Emphasis obviously is on seafood. Family friendly. Good beers and wines. A little pricey but what I'd expect to pay in MV. If you enjoy good food you should go here. Recently updated with a more upscale feel. Great place to visit!

Nestled within the charming Portuguese American Club, Mo's Lunch is a delightful sandwich haven that you simply can't overlook. This quirky eatery has quickly become a beloved spot since its opening in November 2020, thanks to the creative culinary talents of chefs Austin Racine and Maura Martin. Here, you'll find an array of mouthwatering sandwiches like roasted pork with garlicky rabe and provolone on a sesame-seed hoagie roll, perfect for fueling your next adventure.
I had read about Mo's, located inside the Portuguese American Club, Oak Bluffs, being a hidden gem. It was our first stop and first dining experience on Martha’s Vineyard. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside was warm and welcoming. Our lunch consisted of a cauliflower melt and roast pork sandwich. Outstanding! Note... they do offer free water, I didn't notice until after I had bought a water. Make sure you grab a cookie, the size of your head, before you head out! My pick lemon sugar!! Thank you for a delicious lunch Mo's, we are looking forward to seeing you the next time we are on Martha’s Vineyard!

This place has earned its near 5 star rating. The food is absolutely phenomenal. The regular menu is amazing, but if there is a special that sounds even remotely good to you, it will be better than you ever imagined. It doesn't matter what the type of food is - Italian, Mediterranean, Asian and whatever else catches their interest, it's all absolutely delicious. One of the few places that has no quality dip in summer and I know I won't be disappointed. Portion sizes are massive - I always get 2, sometimes 3 meals out of an order. I the cookies amazing too and tremendous! The homemade soups are always delicious too and the quart price is a absolute steal for how much stuff they pack into it. Employees are super nice and chill, and work like a smooth oiled machine behind the counter. The vibe is friendly and welcoming. Did I mention the food is out of this world? Make sure you get some homemade ranch or garlic aoili to dip your fries or onion rings in - and bring a small army to share.

Maybe the best Italian sandwich of my life. Not super fast… but super good. We ate it so quick only got a picture once I nearly finished. Roast beef was 4.5 star.

Staying in MV for the week, and saw this was across from the house I’m in. It’s AMAZING! It was hard choosing between the sandwiches, and I really want to go back for salads and tinned fish. Got to sit on the couch in the back by the N64, also an added bonus. Plus the staff were super friendly and helped us decide what to order. Pictured are the filet-o-fish, hot beef sandwich, waffle fries, and the oatmeal chocolate cookie.

Great sandwiches! We got the pork bahn mi, roasted beef and cheeseburger. All were excellent. The waffle fries also hit the spot. Big sandwiches and easily shared. I highly recommend and look forward to going back.

I've had probably ten meals at Mo's already since they opened and I just love it so much. The people, the vibes, the service, the food, the love, the creativity! The sandwiches are saucy and delicious, the desserts are like a hug to your heart, the onion rings are outrageous, and you can sit outdoors and enjoy the weather even on cool fall days! Seriously support them - they are incredible community members and the food is LEGIT!

Insane sandwiches. Favorite I’ve had in a while. Seeded roll is unreal, and their condiment combos they put on, like the cheddar mayo….elite. Plus they have the alpaca farm on a live feed in the back that I was able to lock in on. Immaculate vibes.

Summercamp is a charming hotel housed in a 19th-century building, offering stylish accommodations with views of the harbor and a retro-style cafe. It's the largest waterfront hotel on Marthas Vineyard, boasting a trendy and boutique atmosphere. The hotel features a game room with classic vintage games like ping pong and twister, as well as a spacious front porch overlooking the waterfront.
This was our second visit to Summer Camp. It won’t be our last.!! We came for two nights in mid May to celebrate my husband’s birthday and some relaxation by the ocean. We were booked in a beautiful first floor ocean view room. From the moment we checked in we were greeted warmly by the staff, whom recognized us from our visit last year. The staff went above and beyond to make Our stay special. The hotel has such a relaxing vibe. We can’t wait to return.

We were here for several celebrations! And the staff was so kind and helpful. Our room was laid out so perfectly. The front porch was so amazing and the view was beautiful. The location was perfect we were so close to everything in town! We will definitely come back :)

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! 🏝️ The rooms were clean, the atmosphere was so peaceful, and the staff were so friendly. A huge thank you to Emir, who helped me with my luggage, greeted me warmly, showed me around the hotel, and made me feel truly special. Small gestures like his made my stay unforgettable. I’ll definitely be back!

Staff were great, helpful, attentive and charming. The location is centrally located. You are close to the Ferry, restaurants, Gingerbread houses, and near all the fun things to do in Martha's Vineyard. Keep in mind in regard to luggage many of the hotels are old and do not have elevators although the staff will accommodate and help if necessary. Rooms are clean, decorated in the camp theme, but small.
Susan M — Google review
My wife and I just spent a few days in Martha’s Vineyard and stayed at this hotel at the recommendation of a friend. Outside of the location in the heart of Oak Bluffs, this hotel leaves much to be desired. Given the expensive cost per night, we would have expected better accommodations. We stayed at the second building on the second floor and the elevator is broken. One of the staff members indicated that it has been broken for months and they are waiting on permits to get it up and running. Second, the room had beautiful views of the harbor, but was otherwise very small, especially the bathroom. We have never seen a shower and sink so small. There was also no real closet and you had to hang your clothes above the tiny refrigerator that could barely fit anything. Third and final, there were bugs that looked like silverfish that crawled on our pillows at least for two nights and the hotels response was simply that they will note it on the reservation. Additionally, complimentary coffee snd water was available, but you did have to travel outside of the hotel for breakfast unless you wanted to pay the high prices at the hotel canteen. While we will definitely be returning to Martha’s Vineyard, we will not be returning to this hotel.
Jeremy C — Google review
This hotel has a tremendous location and wonderful staff. However, the rooms need updating. The AC is clunky, the water pressure in the shower is a joke, the bathroom sink is so tiny you spill water all over the floor when washing your face, and there is no shelf or table on which to put your things in the bathroom. If the owners invested some money into updating the rooms this place would be outstanding!
Eric S — Google review
Tuğba at the front desk and Vova were both super nice and helpful employees! This place is right by the ferry in Oak Bluffs and right by the main shops in town at circuit street. While waiting for the room to be ready there is a key you receive to put your luggage in lockers which I think is a great idea and have never seen this before. This hotel has a young feel and is nice and modern. Complimentary coffee, tea, and water. Giving 4 stars as it is important to note there is no elevator in the main building, which is a bit of a drag with heavy suitcases. But I really enjoyed my stay overall!! The room was big and clean

Nestled in the vibrant Oak Bluffs waterfront nightlife district, Midnight Taco & Tequila Bar has quickly become a must-visit destination for taco enthusiasts. This charming eatery features a delightful patio and offers an array of mouthwatering tacos that were once only available from a food truck. Now, under the guidance of entrepreneur Jordan Wallace, guests can enjoy these culinary delights all day long alongside a full bar.
I’ve been to every Taco place on MV, Midnight Taco is hands down the best. Top margaritas, I recommend Lalo tequila if you want an organic tequila. The Mahi tacos are to DIE for. Highly highly recommend . Jordan, the owner has an eye for detail and is thoughtful with every selection. Brett’s service is always stellar. They also offer live music if that’s your thing. Either way, sit outside at the bar. Have delicious tacos and drinks, people watch and just enjoy.

The food was amazing! We had the fish tacos and yucca fries, both perfectly crispy, fresh, and full of flavor — even the garlic aioli was delicious. The hostess was so kind and attentive, making sure everyone, including my little one, was happy. My only gripe was the margarita; it came in a small sized cocktail glass, lacked flavor, and didn’t feel worth the price for what I got. Still, the food and service were excellent, and I’d definitely come back!
K P — Google review
This place was amazing!!!! This was our first time eating here and everything from the food, drinks , and overall experience was great from start to finish! We started off with spicy margs which were awesome. Next we had the Yucca fries and Tuna tostada which were both amazing ! The wings were recommended next which were unbelievably crispy and juicy and had great flavor. We then had shrimp tacos and carne asada and once again both great. The owner happened to be there and he was nice enough to send us a dish using some fresh caught tuna from one of the local fishermen! He also made a great mezcal drink with blood orange that went with the tuna dish ! If you haven’t been here yet make sure you make this a must visit while in Oak Bluffs ! We will definitely be back! Thanks for the great experience!

Loved the Margaritas especially. Our server Eleever was informative, attentive, and went the extra mile to make sure we had a beautiful evening which we did. Totally unexpected find. This would be a weekly hang out for us if we lived here.

Martha's Vineyard Mexican Beach Vibes Sun-warmed boards creak underfoot, gulls wheel above, and a breeze carries salt, seaweed, and the bright scent of lime — then you find it: a little Mexican outpost that feels like a secret beach cantina dropped onto the Vineyard. String lights sway, a playlist of surfy guitar and Latin rhythms hums, and the line moves with easy island patience as cooks sling plates with sun-kissed swagger. The scene unfolds like this: you order a ceviche that arrives in a chilled bowl, citrus sharp and ocean-fresh, the perfect seaside opener. Next comes a burrito stuffed to the gills, warm tortilla hugging a treasure trove of tender fillings. Build-your-own bowls let you patchwork your day — chicken, steak, or fish — piled high and finished with lively sauces. A zesty pico de gallo that’s spot-on lands beside fresh, crunchy nachos that shatter with every bite. Staff greet you like old friends you have yet to meet, passing plates with sunlit smiles and island ease. Forks pause only to savor, conversations drift to ferry times, and strangers trade bites like they’re sharing a summer secret. Every mouthful tastes of the Vineyard and Mexico at once — familiar comfort with a splash of adventure. Highlights Ceviche: bright, tangy, seaside-perfect. Burrito: packed full, utterly satisfying. Bowls: customizable with chicken, steak, or fish. Pico de gallo and nachos: fresh, zesty, and delightfully crunchy. Vibe: beachy cantina meets island hospitality. This is more than a meal — it’s a sunlit pit stop on your Martha’s Vineyard day, a gulp-worthy, flavor-packed slice of Mexico with Vineyard soul.

This is your one stop shop on island! As someone that lives in Edgartown year round, I appreciate having a market like them open through the winter. Reasons why I love it: they have well stocked shelves of essentials but also fun pantry items - if you want to make any kind of ethnic food, they have sauces and spices to go with your meal. Their meat and seafood cases are always packed with deliciousness. Try their steak tips on the grill, you will fall in love! They also sell side dishes that are great for when you need to put together a quick dinner. Need ice cream? They've got it. Fresh mushrooms and vegetables? They have them! Freshly made sushi rolls? And when the day runs long, the prepared foods case makes dinner effortless; think flavorful mains, solid sides, and salads that actually hold up. Non-profit organization
HI Martha's Vineyard Hostel is a casual property that offers both simple dorms and private rooms. The property provides free breakfast and has a guest kitchen, making it suitable for budget-conscious travelers. Getting around the island is convenient with various options available such as car rentals, bus routes by the Vineyard Transit Authority, private taxi companies, and ride-sharing apps like Uber and Lyft.
I’ve been to a couple other HI hostels before and enjoyed them, but this one gave me the most open, communal experience that I was looking for. The building itself is like a large cabin, with a community lounge and extensive kitchen in addition to the group dorms and private rooms. The bathrooms have a communal area with sinks but private rooms for the toilets. One of my favorite features, though, was the outdoor shower. They also have a large lawn with game options as well as a fire pit and grill. Almost felt like being at a summer camp. Overall very good facilities for the price you pay. The staff were amazing, particularly Juliette, Ryan, and Chris, but everyone was extremely kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay. They do a lot to make sure guests have a good experience, updating a chalkboard daily with different events around the island and providing community breakfast each morning. I had a great time meeting many of the other guests as well, everyone was friendly and open but also respectful of privacy. There are some small lockers available to keep valuables, but after my first night I felt comfortable leaving my stuff on my bed. I met a wide range of people, from families to solo travelers young and old. The location is a bit out of the way and there aren’t a ton of food options nearby, but there is a bus line right outside and a bike path nearby. Being a bit out of the way can also result in some amazing stargazing on a clear night, and you might be able to see some fireflies nearby around dusk! Usually when I stay in a hostel, it’s not much more than a place to sleep, but this one definitely added to my trip. Great way to see Martha’s Vineyard without dropping a ton of money on accommodations.

Centrally located by car, bus and bicycle. Super laid back and easy going staff, Thank you all! meticulously attentive to guests every need and cleanliness, which is important when sharing sleeping and kitchen quarters with others. Every night we came back to bonfire and a hot outdoor shower under the trees. Met some interesting fellow travelers, including a large group of folks from Iran. I love it here. Loft Nightclub in Oak Bluffs is a lively spot with shuffleboard, pool, and pinball machines. It's known for its great and large pizzas. The place offers reasonable drink prices and a fun atmosphere, making it perfect for those looking to dance the night away in Edgartown. While it may get crowded with long lines, the experience is definitely worth it.
First time visiting the island. Came for a birthday weekend away.Stopped here for some drinks on recommendation. The 2 dudes at the bar were awesome! Such nice guys. We had so much fun just hanging out and throwing darts! The bartenders gave us recommendations for brunch and drinks. Nice dudes.

While the bartenders were nice, it’s really messed up not to give tap water for free. $3 for a small can of STORE BRAND flat water is egregious and the bar manager/owner should be ashamed of themselves. I’ve never been to a bar (or worked at one) where water was not available for free. This establishment is just ASKING for a fine for overserving. I guess the owner thinks they can get away with it since it’s the vineyard. Well- I live on the Cape, and you should be ashamed of yourself. When I mentioned it to the bartender, he was too afraid to even mention it to the owner. It’s unfortunate that seasonal establishments can get away with things like this because the population is so transient.

I was here a few weeks ago, waited more than 20 minutes at the front of the bar to get a drink. The girl next to me ordered 4 drinks, I ordered 2, and the bartender mixed our cards up and accidentally charged me for the 4 drinks and the girl next to me for my 2. When I asked if they could void it, they replied with well I can give you 2 more drinks. I called the next day to see if I could get the charge taken off my card because I really didn't feel like paying $50 for the 2 drinks I ordered despite the fact that we walked away with 4 unwanted drinks, and they said someone would give me a call back. I never received a call. Am not willing to fight with the bar or tell on a bartender for an honest mistake, I just thought it would be easy to get money back from a business that I did not intend on giving them.

The DJ was terrible, they charged $3 for water, and the bartender spilled my drink on me...

The manager of this place told our party of 25 that one 6 month old was not allowed in at 7:45pm because, and I quote, "too many fights break out here." I asked him if I should announce that to the group and he offered to buy my one beer. The pizza was good, but the manager was an idiot and cost his staff a significant amount of tips. Apparently a place with game tables is not kid friendly.

It was my first but not last time on the island, winter, quiet, great pizza, perfect get away with friends to play some pool, hang out, trow some darts. Heard it gets packed but that will be another review, hopefully in the summer.

Look I think,my review is based partially on th e time of year but shame on you Loft!!! They clear had literally not cleaned up at all from, thr night before lith cans and bottle, cans and, napkins on,the, floor and the floors where amazingly sticky for 6pm. Worse offense, ZERO. Prices on thr alcohol menu. They where busy due to a smart 15 dollar all you can eat pizza bar but the cost seems hugh due to what seemed to me,a perfect food poisoning setting. Get your shit together fast!! Bathrooms also filthy.

Pizza di Napoli Review: Its the best pizza on the island. Noone else comes close. If you actually appreciate a good pie and not the cheese bread the rest of this rock serves, give it a try. Huge size, quality toppings, and a wonderful selection of specialty pies.

My husband and I stayed at Kelley House for over 20 years. We loved the intimacy of it, the architecture of this historic building and grounds. We always felt like family there; and, enjoyed the evenings when fresh baked chocolate chip cookies welcomed us back to the hotel. Also, the ambiance depicted a hotel by the harbor with decor to match. Looking at the room renovations, the decor reminds me of fall or winter. Also, the price to stay there is quite high. As a result, we have another place to stay this summer where the rates are more sensible; and, the property is beautiful. However, good luck with your new endeavor
