Rusty Pelican is a renowned waterfront cottage in Newport Beach, offering a premier full-service dining experience since 1965. The restaurant boasts a charming and relaxed atmosphere with skylights, cathedral ceilings, and picturesque views of Newport Harbor from its outdoor patio.
Returned to Rusty Pelican for a birthday dinner. Valet parking ($10) only but makes for easy "in & out" of parking lot. Restaurant was clean and inviting. Hostess was very amicable, efficient, and seated us promptly. Server, Brenda, was "johnny-on-the-spot"...very friendly with lots of smiles, efficient & attentive, and service was great. Food was excellent (took some photos)...oysters, shrimp cocktail, mushrooms, scallops, swordfish, & salmon. In my opinion, the food was prepared properly and tasty. Overall experience for this birthday dinner was excellent and memorable.

I love ocean/beach view restaurants. And this one located in Newport Beach, Ca. Love their garlic bread. And enjoy the ocean front view while sipping on the yummy cocktails. My fav place to go. Staffs were nice.
Amenita T — Google review
Great seafood restaurant in the Newport Beach area. Their prices are more reasonable than the surrounding dinner options. Highly recommend the salmon, cod, or seafood pasta. The portion sizes were surprisingly generous (relatively speaking). They also offer a very extensive wine menu and a variety of great cocktails. The only real menu limitation was their sides offering - Most of the good sides were considered “shareables” and, consequently, were much more expensive. Keep in mind that they only do valet parking but there’s street parking adjacent to the restaurant. We came 40 minutes before close but the service was excellent and the restaurant had an ambiance that made it great for any type of occasion (still slightly on the more formal side). Great views of the water so would definitely recommend that you request outdoor seating in advance if possible!

We had dinner last night. The host was very kind and she sat us on a table on the upper floor overlooking the water. Our server Cameron was attentive and great overall. The food was very fresh and delicious. We were celebrating our anniversary. Will be coming back for more. Thank you Rusty Pelican crew for a wonderful experience.

A very nice restaurant on the waterfront in Newport Beach. Excellent selection of seafood on the menu, with a couple of steaks too. I had a 12oz NY Strip which was nice. Jumbo shrimp cocktail was good too. Nice ambience but tables were quite tightly crammed in spoiling the ambience slightly. Had to wait 20 minutes for our table for two, despite having a reservation. Parking was valet only.

What a beautiful location to enjoy the afternoon sunshine, sip delicious mixed cocktails, and indulge in culinary delights. We enjoyed a dozen fresh and briney oysters on the half shell, a wonderful goat cheese souffle with sun dried tomatoes, olives, and pickled onions on toast that was bright and refreshing, and for mains we enjoyed the grilled swordfish with sweet chili sauce and fish tacos on a very unique shell that I'm not really sure of the backstory there. As a side, we ordered the most perfectly roasted and crispy brussel sprouts laid on top of the same sweet chili sauce as the swordfish was in, but with a good kick of fresh garlic added in. All of the dishes were visually stunning, subconciously preparing the pallet for every bite. If you're looking to slow down, unwind, fuel up or self-induldge... Rusty Pelican's patio is the perfect option for lovers of fresh seafood and carefully crafted drinks. We almost chose a different location with slightly a slightly better overall rating but no ocean view... And we're happy we didn't. Rusty Pelican phenominal food, drinks, views, and attentive service. This was our first time visiting, and we'll definitely be back.

I cannot believe this is my first time here after all of these years. Let me tell you about all the things I love I love the upstairs bar area and being able to look out over the harbor and the sunset was so beautiful today. I love the bartender and his vibe And I really enjoyed sitting at the upstairs bar. I thought they had a pretty good wine list, but it was mostly like all the basic things that you would expect a fine dining restaurant on the water to have so there wasn’t anything super unexpected there. And I did like the food. I probably wouldn’t want to go here again and eat the food though lol like it wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t like oh my God I have to come here again and have this particular dish. But I really like the vibe upstairs at the bar. I would definitely come back to this bar and hopefully Joel is working again because he was super cool to hang out with.!!

Oysters were amazing, calamari decadent and fish was unfortunately overcooked. We got the swordfish and seabass which both were dry. The crème brûlée cheesecake was also dry but flavorful. The view was beautiful on the harbor. It was overpriced for the quantity.

Bluewater Grill Seafood Restaurant in Newport Beach offers a unique dining experience with its seasonal menu that changes four times a year to highlight the freshest seafood and local ingredients. The restaurant is part of a family of seafood eateries committed to serving sustainably caught seafood with classic or modern twists. Established in 1996, the original location values community and connection, offering exclusive draft beers brewed for Bluewater Grill.
The Bluewater Grill is on a little inlet in Newport Beach. It has great seafood. There's paid street parking and valet parking. We came at lunch time. We managed to score a table. We used the reasonably priced valet parking. I had a cup of New England clam chowder, calamari, and a fish & chips platter consisting of fried cod along with french fries and coleslaw. It was all delicious. My wife had sand dabs, also delicious. The view from the terrace, all those boats docked nearby, is pleasant. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. Service was friendly and efficient. I enjoyed my meal, and I recommend the Bluewater Grill.

Stopped here for dinner while I was in town for work and man I love this place. The fresh sourdough is amazing as was the grilled bass I had. Best seafood meal I’ve had in a long time. The service and atmosphere are both a 10 as well. Can’t wait to go back.

When we were back in town recently—since we live here part-time—we finally decided to check out Bluewater Grill. We’d heard about this spot for years but never realized we could literally pull up in our Duffy boat, flip-flops on, and still feel totally welcome. It was comfortable, laid-back, and just Amazing ! The food was fantastic. Our kids went nuts over the spaghetti on the kids’ menu, and my wife and I shared a salad that was basically a flavor party. The burger was another slice of heaven. Our server, Eli, was fantastic—super professional and made us feel right at home. We can’t believe it took us this long to discover this gem, and we’ll definitely be back whenever we’re in town!

Great spot, amazing service, amazing food Jesus & Val are definitely not the JV on the grill. Can sit inside or outside. Alone? Plenty of seats in front of grill or bar with TVs. Atmosphere looking out over the marina.

Visited weekday dinner with company colleagues. Food Calamari: must try with excellent cream sauce Seared scallap: very nice but very pricey. Given quantity, not that recommendable. crab cake: it was also good but not that special. cioppino: A little bit pricey but given quality and quantity highly recommendable. Atmosphere: casual and you can walk around after dining. Service: server was helpful and very kind Parking: street parking is very limited so you may need valet parking ($7). Credit card is accepted but it will be $7.35 + tips. The valet wished me to pay tips so I could not deny it... however, I parked myself at first so no reason to pay tip for him. (tip percentages starts from 15% so I paid around $8.4) Overall, a little bit pricey but recommendable food and atmosphere. Remember you may have a valet parking there with some tips.

always a fantastic meal at bluewater. service is great with a tasty meal. i ordered the lobster roll, rhode island style, with fries; my girlfriend ordered the salmon. both were very good, paired nicely with wine and dock views !

First rate service, awsome appetizers, great cocktails, and (limited) ocean views. Our first visit, we sat on the patio for a few appetizers and cocktails. It couldn't have been better. Well....maybe with more of an ocean view but you still get the ocean breezes and feel. We will be returning soon for happy hour and dinner!
King S — Google review
One of the coolest things about Bluewater Grill is you can choose to sit out on the water, inside the restaurant, at the bar or on the couch by the fireplace. The food here is always the greatest. Of course the best fish. But they also have tremendous steaks, chicken, pasta dishes and even the greatest sushi. Something for everyone. Now the staff rocks it. From the front door greeting to servers, busboys, but the best of the breast are their bartenders. Heather and Bill are just awesome and so friendly. They make the most amazing drinks 🍸 don't miss out

Sandy's Beach Shack in Huntington Beach is a popular dining spot known for its stylishly plated Californian cuisine and surf 'n' turf dishes. Situated right on the waterfront, it offers stunning views of the beach and a chance to watch surfers while enjoying a cold beer. The restaurant prides itself on its delightful menu, welcoming atmosphere, and attentive service, with patrons praising the friendly servers who enhance the dining experience.
Service, ambiance, and food were amazing! We had a large group and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I ordered the chorizo skillet for breakfast, my husband ordered the breakfast burrito, and our dog ordered the chicken plate with kibble. All that being said, this place is a must when visiting Huntington Beach!

For dining right on the beach, this is a lovely surprise. The food is far better than you would expect. The service is good, but I think overstretched... Not enough staff for a full restaurant, but that is common in the area. Atmosphere is a mix between locals and tourists, about 50/50 in April. Lots of well behaved dogs, with about 1 in 6 tables having a dog or two. I recommend this place for food, location, service and atmosphere. You get to sit below the outer and you could see the sunset. We rode our bikes here and the bike park for locking your bike is right outside the front door.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, bursting with flavor and clearly made with care. They also offer an impressive selection of beers, which paired perfectly with the meal. The option to sit inside or outside was a nice touch, adding to the overall vibe. While the service was a tad slow, the incredible food and great atmosphere more than made up for it. I’d definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a tasty meal and a relaxed dining experience!

This my third time in this restaurant, everything is good, the food, the drinks, specially “the tsunami “, the service always is friendly and fast, is dog friendly as well, you have the ocean next to you… the decoration is lovely… is a really good plan to expend time there!

This is a really nice place to go to, we wanted to go to the restaurant which is just above and by mistake. We entered that one and that was perfect choice. Food is really good and I really enjoyed the service also.

Loved eating here today. Amazing food, amazing service, and a beautiful setting. Very fair prices too!I had the shrimp kebob, and cheesecake
Trevor J — Google review
Our service was terrible I felt the server hated her job or despised our table . I observed her as she spoke to other parties and our table was not even demanding. Her demeanor was terrible and not sure what we did to her. The moment we were greeted at the door they acted like we were too much. I was a server for 9 years she clearly showed how annoyed she was of us but treated other guests more welcoming. I hope we do not get this server again. I know her name but I want to spare this girl the review and perhaps be mindful because we did not do anything for her to be so annoyed by us. We were not a difficult table whatsoever. I hope she does not wait on us. It was my first time and I was not fond of service.
RHEA E — Google review
The service was great, the food was good. Got the clam chowder cup, which was great. I also got a ceviche that personally could have used some more citrus/lime flavor. We got the calamari strips, which were good. They were served with some salad that I wasn't a fan of. Lastly we ordered the fish and ships, which it was very good, I recommend it. It was also my fiancée bday, and they provided her with a cheesecake on the house, which it was awesome. The service was top notch, I would definitely go back.

Harborside Restaurant and Grand Ballroom is a charming and family-friendly dining spot that offers classic seafood dishes with serene views of the water. The restaurant provides sweeping and stunning views of Newport Harbor, where guests can savor succulent crab, lobster, and the freshest fish prepared skillfully amid candlelit surroundings. It's an ideal choice for a leisurely lunch or dinner while enjoying unimpeded views of beautiful Newport Harbor.
We stumbled across this place by accident. We were in Newport Beach and had been to a furniture consignment store and a plant nursery then drove down to the park on the beach. We wanted food and a simple search for "fish restaurant" revealed two nearby. We were looking at one of them without realizing it... So be careful of that... It's a large restaurant but it is hidden down a side street. Anyway, back to the food. We had the poke nachos to start... Excellent raw tuna and scallions, avocado with wasabi glaze and puffy tortilla chips. An excellent choice... Surprisingly light Main course, my wife had the seafood linguini with mussels, clams, scallops, shrimp, etc. A huge bowl which I helped her out with. Way too much pasta for our digestive systems, but if you want a pasta feast then this would be a great choice. I had the half and half, which is fish and chips with butterfly shrimp, cole slaw and French fries. The tartar sauce was possibly the best I've ever had... Very interesting and the butterfly shrimp came with a mango dressing. Excellent variation on the fish and chips theme and I didn't put any salt or vinegar on it, just lemon. Whaaaat? :) On the way to be seated I had asked a kind lady what dessert she was eating. It was the 'mud pie"... So we shared one of those. My wife shared two mouthfuls and I ate the rest. It was a lot of pie and my sugar rush is still going on as I write this. But I recommend any group should share one of the mud pies... It has everything in it. Like a cookies and cream ice cream from the grocery store but with 5 other ingredients AND home made!!!! I'm not big on desserts, but I would order that again. Staff were all very pleasant and attentive. Just the right amount of friendliness without intruding.... Balanced. Here's some snapshots...

Went here to grab lunch after some whale watching and it was such a great decision! Our waiter Felix was so polite and attentive. The food was amazing too, especially the Coconut Shrimp in the Half and Half and the Italian Cherry Margarita 🍒🫶🏻 The ocean view is an awesome bonus 🌊

Pretty restaurant on the harbor. Went with a group of 15 with a reservation and we were seated fairly quickly however the service after that was not great. We were out of water the whole time. Also when they brought out our food they just yelled what the food item was and had us call out who ordered it. Not very organized and not what I would expect with how expensive the food was. Also they wouldn’t split the tab at all. The redeeming factor was the clam chowder in the bread bowl was very very good. Also VERY filling. I liked how they really emptied the bread bowl.
Gabrielle B — Google review
We were excited to try this restaurant for our first dinner stop in Irvine, but were left very disappointed. First, the hostess sat us right next to the noisiest dinner party of about 20-30 or so people. The rest of the restaurant was practically empty so I’m not sure about the reasoning for that. We promptly asked to be moved to a different spot since we could barely hear each other talking. Next, our server never introduced himself, offered any kind of guidance to the menu, or even really greeted us at all. As soon as he brought our waters he simply asked “are you ready to order?” The food did come very quickly and was quite delicious - we got the clam chowder and split the fish and chips with garlic truffle fries, which was all more than enough for two people. After that, our server never checked on us and it took about 30 minutes to receive a to-go box and the check once we had asked. 30 minutes for the check? That’s insane. We will not return. Very poor service.

Very clean and fancy bar and restaurant, came and got the house beer and a Mahi taco and the harborside blonde draft and both were on the happy hour menu (everyday 11:30am-6pm) and they were both very good! and they had a lot of great options of food and drinks is for happy hour which was a plus, server named was Allison who was super cool and very nice and awesome at giving me top recommendations for what to eat and she was awesome 👏 They definitely have an awesome view of the water and the environment was a bit quiet but chill and respectful, highly recommend trying this place out! Also they have gift shops and other good spots right near here as well!

Celebrated my mom’s birthday and retirement and we all enjoyed our meals and service we received. Definitely recommend seat with a view. Was originally recommended by family to check out happy hour in the bar. The restaurant surprised us with a small birthday dessert as well which was great!

My wife and I attended a wedding anniversary party for long time friends. We were in the upstairs ballroom which had ample room for the 60 or so guests. The venue served a sit down dinner of chicken, beef, salad, a pasta dish, rolls and dessert. The food was the best event food I think I've ever had. They obviously have a very capable cooking team. The very complete open bar was icing on the cake.

This is one of the best restaurants that I have eaten in lately. The food was excellent. Our server was wonderful. She was quick and attentive. The old school Hawaiian decor was perfect. My wife and I can't wait to go back.

I came with a bike park on the side ( didn’t take any full spot for a car) and they trying to charge me for valet, ridicules I was go eat and drink next door it was awesome. I add some pictures of the bike where it’s stand.. bad experience from the parking lot I can’t imagine how bad gonna be the service there.
Tomer R — Google review
Overall it was a good time. Seating was a little cramped and chairs were old and wobbly. Live music was really loud especially if you’re seated close like we were. Even though we had a reservation and the restaurant wasn’t at capacity we still waited to be seated for about 10 minutes. Street parking is minimal and hard to get so I always resort to valet parking!
Eddie A — Google review
Yes the valet is expensive and sometimes unnecessary but that’s Newport for ya. However, I dream of their mai tai’s and coconut shrimp. It’s out of this world. And you can’t beat the view! A great casual laid back spot. Can’t wait to go back!
Sarah A — Google review
I'll give the food 3 1/2 *s. Mai Tai is good. I like their clam chowder, a little different than others but tasty and a good portion. The fish tacos are a meh for me who have had many great fish tacos. The atmosphere is great - casual, friendly employees, fast service and you can just sit and relax with the harbor view and seals. Noise levels may be a little high but doesn't bother me. Parking valet (not sure if they have regular parking) is $10. Not a big parking shared with 2 restaurants so valet parking will be better if you don't mind paying the $10.
M K — Google review
such a fun place to go out with family and friends. Great atmosphere! Our server was very kind and patient since we had to wait for half of our party. Pupu platter and Mai Tai combo was perfect for two!!
Tracey E — Google review
What a great spot! Admitted there are a lot of options in Newport Beach but this place is one of the best. The misses and I took advantage of the 2 Mai Tai and pupu appetizer platter deal for lunch and we were not disappointed. The beef skewers were cooked to perfection and I almost licked the sauce off the plate. All of it was tasty. Our server, Rylee, was kind and made the meal all the nicer. We will definitely be back.

Enjoyed the patio for brunch. So many menu options, since the full menu is available. The mai tai is their signature cocktail, so I tried it. It did not disappoint! Delicious food and drinks!!

Bear Flag Fish Co. is a casual seafood eatery and market located in Huntington Beach, known for its fresh catches and customizable dishes. The menu features a variety of seafood options including poke, tacos, burritos, cocktails, sandwiches, salads, and sushi. Visitors praise the creamy New England Clam Chowder as a must-try dish. The restaurant offers a laid-back atmosphere with floor-to-ceiling windows and is situated within the vibrant setting of Pacific City.
Our son turned us onto this spot saying the fish is fresh and amazing and he was absolutely right. We got the Poke Burrito which I was a bit hesitant but the staff said I would love it. I did. We also got chips and guacamole and calamari fingers. The chips and guac was good but nothing special. The calamari fingers were delicious. All together the meal was a hit and we will definitely be back.

This fast casual was a gem of a find! Order at the counter, fresh poke bowls, sushi, calamari fries and grilled artichoke. The fish was perfectly fresh. They have a large outside patio with plenty of seats overlooking the beach. Staff was very friendly and working hard!

Checking out this place on a recommendation and it was great for lunch. There are good menu choices for all kinds of fish entrees but I was there for s poke bowl. You can build your own with different rice bases and toppings, sauces. I got salmon and it was delicious. The wife got a white fish taco and enjoyed it. We also got chips and guac and it was legit. No fountain drinks, all cans and bottles, beer, spirits. Ate outside as there was very limited indoor seating, which was fine but fairly windy and a bit cool. Great place!

After a cool bike ride from Newport Beach to Huntington Beach. We enjoyed great Ahi poke, Chips and Guac for brunch. The grilled shrimp were large and well seasoned! Not overly cooked. This restaurant overlooks the pacific coast with plenty of seating in this restaurant. The service was fast and welcoming. The decor is nautical and clean! There is a large bar seating and patio seating! Restrooms are convenient located. Great place with a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a meal and drink. 🍹

The fish was fresh. The food was good! If you're seated outside, it's extremely loud from the cars going by. They also don't have table service so you have to walk inside and order everything, grab your own utensils/sauces/napkins. I wish they had table service! I ordered 6 oysters, 1/2 pound Peruvian ceviche, and a glass of wine for $46.

First time! Couldn't be more impressed with this place. Super fresh fish, great bartender. I sat at the bar and bartender took my order and food runners brought it out to my bar seat. I like not having to try and flag a waiter down so ordering at the counter is a great option when not sitting at bar. Fantastic Bartender had some good suggestions for things to try. Great ambiance with inside and outside ocean views. Great prices for high quality fresh off the boat seafood. My new favorite place in Huntington.

Order at the counter and get what they have handy, or they bring it out to you a while later. Nobody is coming to your table to take your order here. There are lots of options for fish tacos, fish burritos, and fish platters. The side dishes were all pretty good, too. The Bear Flag Burrito is great if you're hungry, and the tacos are great if you want a little bit lighter fare and variety. Beer selection is okay and probably fits the beach fine. I didn't really look at the wine, but they had several red and white options. There's a good amount of seating outside, but tables also fill up fast. There is some bar seating as well. There are fire tables, but I didn't see any fire going when I was there this time. It's right next to the Pacific Coast Highway, so there were some motorcycles that went by and roared on their pipes, sometimes for a stretch at a time, which interrupted conversations. View of the beach and water is nice, with a light breeze able to come through.

Duke's Huntington Beach is a renowned restaurant that pays homage to the surfing legend Duke Kahanamoku. The establishment boasts a tiki-inspired decor and offers a diverse menu featuring fresh Hawaiian seafood and innovative takes on traditional dishes. From Tahitian shrimp cocktail to kabocha squash and mascarpone ravioli, the culinary offerings are both unique and flavorful. Additionally, guests can enjoy picturesque surfside views while savoring their meals.
Duke's is a standout place in Huntington Beach. Have been there several times. Service and atmosphere are wonderful. You can see the beach and waves crashing from many seats in the restaurant. If I could give a 4.5, I would. There were some food aspects that were not superb this trip. Some dishes we ordered: Seafood hotpot (very good), korean ribs (super yummy), wedge salad (meh...dressing not much flavor), mac crusted halibut with broccoli (broccoli was hard as a rock...could not eat). Hula pie for dessert...good for a table of 5! It was wonderful. Good wine selection. Seafood was very fresh. My mojito was a little watered down. Will always keep this place on the list...just hoping for a little better quality next time on some items.

Great experience! Duke’s Huntington Beach had outstanding service, great food, and an amazing view! The food was prepared quickly and it cane out with amazing flavor. The server was amazing and very positive. I would highly recommend this establishment to dine at if you are in Huntington Beach.

This was my first visit to the restaurant, and I found the atmosphere to be excellent. The staff was nice, respectful, and responsive. However, regarding the main course, I believe more items should be added to the menu. The quality compared to the price and portion size was high; it could definitely be improved. Management needs to pay attention to this, especially since they are located in the best area.

First time here, this was an absolute great experience. Everything from being greeted from the hostess to being served at the bar until our table was ready. And our server Ray provided exceptional service. I definitely recommend the Lobsters, so fulfilling.. My husband had the Prime Rib 14 oz , he said it was perfectly cooked they way he likes his steaks (very rare we can find a chef or restaurant that pleases his pallette of steaks). And finally for dessert, the Upside-down Pineapple Cake was drool worthy.. delicious.

We had Duke's in Hawaii and my husband has been craving the hula pie from there for the past 3 years so we were really excited to see that they have dukes at the Huntington Beach and had to stop there. We ordered a bunch of stuff and every single thing was amazing. For appetizers we ordered coconut crispy shrimp and poke tacos and they were 10/10! For entrees we got baked Duke's fish and fish and chips and of course for dessert we got the hula pie.

All I can say is WOW!!! The service, the food and the restaurant all top notch! And the Hula Pie...it's a must! The Tristan Lobster was tender, and the Crab Wontons loaded with flavour. Thank you to the staff for making us feel welcome and celebrating our 30th anniversary with us! P. S. reservations recommended, they filled up fast!

Fly N Fish Oyster Bar and Grill is a compact, casual restaurant with water views that specializes in seasonal seafood dishes and drinks. It's a popular spot for Taco Tuesday, offering options like wild Alaskan cod fish tacos, Caribbean lobster tacos, and shrimp tacos served with pico de gallo, cabbage, and queso fresco. The restaurant's massive windows overlook the Pacific Ocean, providing a scenic backdrop for dining.
Serves incredibly fresh oyster sweet, briny, and perfectly chilled. The atmosphere is lively, though it can get quite loud and crowded during dinner hours. Still, it’s a top spot for seafood lovers near the coast.

Everything was INCREDIBLE, absolutely delicious! The artichoke wasn’t quite as amazing as other reviews claim, but the Shrimp Tacos were to DIE FOR, and the Clam Chowder was amazing too. Didn’t take photos of all our food we were to hungry lol but we’re adding some. Highly recommend!!! We’ll come back for sure!

Food was really good! Went for happy hour and waited about 35 minutes for a table for 2. The space is quite small; it was very crowded because of everyone standing around the bar area. Would recommend for small parties (2-4) Seafood was incredibly fresh.

I recently visited Fly 'n' Fish, and it was fantastic! This cozy spot offers top-notch food and drinks. Our server, Ariel, was friendly and attentive, while Juan, the busser, kept everything running smoothly. If you're looking for a hidden gem with great hospitality, definitely check this place out! Can't wait to return! I highly recommend the grilled artichoke and fish ceviche tostada—they're delicious! If you're seeking a hidden gem with great hospitality, check it out! Can't wait to return!

One of the best places I've been to with fresh oysters. Good service, friendly staff. Place is small and could appear a bit noisy but overall nice location and view. Did not like poke unfortunately but everything else was great

Long wait. Cool place but the food was just good not anything special. Ordered: fish tacos, dozen oysters, fish and chips, calamari, shrimp cocktail, Mahi Mahi, and clam chowder. Clams were chewy and chowder was bland, but sourdough bread bowl was good. Oysters were fresh and good. Chunks of shell in meat though. Fish and chips were crispy outside moist inside. Very good. Mahi Mahi was dry but flavorful. Calamari was very good as well as the dipping sauce. Shrip was great. Atmosphere was awesome. Small hole in the wall, crowded and small but you can see the kitchen cook fresh. Beach view is nice. But did have a long wait (came in at 715pm Friday we were seated at 815pm). Would come back but will try other foods and time.
Cody H — Google review
I’ve been here twice now. Comfortable relaxed atmosphere. Food has always been good with one exception; though their oysters are fresh, they don’t clean them well, leaving grit and bits of shell in the oysters. Servers were not fully attentive, having to ask twice for things, etc. but bussing was excellent, cleaning table of plates between courses, etc. Love sitting by the windows with the ocean breeze coming in. I’ll go again sometime but, though they are my favorite, I’ll likely pass next time.
Sullir S — Google review
We actually came because we had heard the fish and chips were good here! We were not disappointed! Very very crisp fish and fries were nicely fried. Their sauce is amazing, I’m not even sure what they call it but it seems to be a mixture of horseradish+chilli+vinegar+garlic. We ended up getting oysters also. I like that you can order a sample/flight plate which allows you to try 3 different catches. The oysters were superb! Food is delicious. On another note, we were seated very quickly without reservation at 7pm on a Friday night, which was our great luck! The ambiance is beautiful because you have the ocean staring at you as you dine. The bar does get crowded as the night continues, and it does get noisy inside! Would come back here.

The food is so flavorful and delicious! Loved the garden benedict - ordered it most of the time when we stayed at the Hyatt hotel. The zesty lemon blueberry pancakes were so yum and fluffy! Tried the french toast and smith fresh whole omelette and both were amazing. The service was great!

Watertable is cozy, intimate, and basically everything you want in a great restaurant. But throw in their must-try Creamer Potato Cakes and it’s game over. Honestly, every time I eat them, I’m shocked all over again… How are they that good?!?

We stopped by for breakfast here after we had a not so great breakfast experience at a nearby hotel we were staying at. The food was amazing. We were seated quickly within five minutes. We elected to sit outside because the weather was beautiful. Our children absolutely loved the Dubai chocolate waffles. I ordered the lox bagel and the lavender latte (amazing!), and my husband went with a more traditional breakfast, which she said was really good. The establishment itself is beautiful. There is indoor and outdoor seating a beautiful bar and a lounge area. I would definitely recommend stopping in for breakfast if you’re in the area. If the weather permits, sit outside!

The Short Rib Hash is very good. If you’re looking for breakfast that’s definitely their go to. The SoCa lacked flavor other than Salt. They definitely were heavy handed with the sodium. The Bloody Mary cost as much as the meal and was lack luster. Honestly one of the worst I’ve had. The Pete’s coffee that was suggested by the server wasn’t anything special either. Overall if you’re going, stick to the short rib. They seem to be a one trick pony.

Let me just start by saying our server/mixologist Blake was nothing Short of amazing! He made us feel like family and anticipated our needs. As a seasoned bartender and culinary student the drinks are absolutely on point! My kids loved Blakes mocktails. They also loved the crab macaroni n cheese... I am loved the bmclam chowder and the desserts were outstanding/ to die for. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend if you haven't already checked this restaurant out.

We came here a couple days in a row. I’ll order of charcuterie board was really good and hit the spot; but the order of artichoke was really disappointing. It was hard and chewy like a shoe only the tiny center can be eaten. We return the next day on Tuesday and get a 20% discount because we are locals. We order Kobe meatloaf, which was OK. The lobster mac & cheese was pretty tasty the bacon Brussels sprouts lacks bacon. I only saw a couple specs of bacon. The view was phenomenal and we enjoyed the sunset with the ocean breeze .

I had an unforgettable experience here! from the moment we walked in, the view was everything my family who came out of time loved the asthetic and the vibe, plus the view!!We came for a special occacsion and were lucky to have Dorothy and Blake taking care of us, they were beyond amazing: warm, attentive, and truly elevated the entire lunch.I have to shout out the lettuce wraps, there were the best! they were oustanding and surprisingly came with rice inside, which I’ve never seen before but absolutely loved. We ended the night with the dreamiest fried donut and ice cream dessert so sweet, flaky and crispy, between the food, the service, and the ocean view, it was experiences to remember. I can’t wait to go back!

Wow, a place with a beautiful view of Huntington beach. We were a big group of 60 for an office dinner. They gave us place with the beach view. I would definitely recommend this place for the following reasons 1. Ambience on a nice weather day is amazing with view of beach. This is just across the road to Huntington Pier. 2. Food is good and tasty. 3. Service is fast and we had a great time there.

If you’re a martini lover, this place is an absolute gem! Their martinis are perfectly crafted with just the right balance of flavor and sophistication. Definitely one of the best spots for martinis—highly recommended!

Nice and fun vibe, perfect for a casual bite by the water. I had the Maui Mahi sandwich—super tasty and well-cooked. We also tried the fish and chips, which were just okay. The fish and fries didn’t seem super fresh, and the oil used might’ve been a bit off. Still, overall a decent spot to grab a drink and something to eat in a lively setting

Really cool place, the view is probably one of the best I’ve seen in the whole country, if you like the view of the water and the boats. The food was good, the server was friendly. The food here was absolutely excellent! And wide array of choices. The service was terrible. Our waitress was not very friendly and brought out our apps and some main courses at the same time. Then just kept bringing main dishes at random so some people were half done with their meals before some people even got theirs. Her reply was they come when they come - yet the large party next to us got their their apps first and then their main dishes all at the same time later. This would be rated so much higher if our server provide service.

We stayed at the resort and this was the first place we decided to eat. They have outdoor seating that is straight across from the beach. They also have a couple igloo that you can eat in outside if it’s too chili. Plenty of seating inside as well. The chips, salsa and guacamole were so delicious. The chips came out hot and were so good. I also enjoyed the mushroom Swiss cheeseburger. It’s 1/2 pound and it’s a big sandwich! Our server was Trever and he was wonderful. Great location and relaxed vibe. Plenty of seating inside and outside. The food was good but I would have to say pretty average especially for the price point. I had the fish tacos which had good flavor but it doesn’t come with any sides so you’re just getting two tacos and a few tortilla chips. My husband had the cheeseburger which he said was mediocre. The French fries were tasty and cooked well. The staff was very friendly but service was pretty slow and a bit inattentive. I only ordered a water and drank it all half way through our lunch and no one ever came by to refill it.

Edit: we ended up eating here twice, ordered the same tempura roll and although looking the same wasn’t inconsistent on the flavor. Still good! Buffalo wings were good nothing special, the green beans were a delight!! And we had the Mallory Torte which was actually really good not to sweet! Orders to go and took it to the beach! 5/5 Shrimp Tempura, easily the best I’ve ever had, my Palette was in Heaven. The sauce is incredible, the actual roll it self texture wise was phenomenal! I honestly will order this every time I am in Huntington Beach. As for the Swiss burger it was also to really good! 3/5 and that’s due to the excessive meat.. 1/2lb is ginormous and well plenty for two (1/4-1/3 options would be a lot better. The first 3 or so bites were really good, great tasting meat however the seasoning is inconsistent throughout, and then after awhile you’re just eating unseasoned beef. If you’re in the area or stay at the Hyatt Regency I highly recommend Pete’s Sunset Grille

While the food may look nice and the atmosphere definitely is this place had the worst oysters and food. Lobster bisq tasted like cold mayo with 1 peice of something strange looking possibly immitation. The oysters they put inside of the shots we're extremely big. I was afraid that I was going to choke on it and spit it across the bar. The clam chowder fries were on point but they were cold. The oysters were soggy and salty.

Oysters were super fresh, and we had at least 8 types! The clam chowder was delicious as well. But what we really lucked out on was for Tuesdays they do a bottomless beer promo for 10$! Needless to say we made it well worth it. Our waitress V was super friendly and took great care of us. definitely recommend for any oyster lovers to check this place out. The views don't suck either😉

Tried their happy hour. 4 pieces of calamari for 5 bucks. Fish tacos were so so. Oysters were fishy. Service was not great at the bar. They need a new chef or change their quality on their ingredients.

Expensive and food was very lacking. For an expensive place, I was expecting more. There is little to no customers and the staff was nice but ok customer service. The food was very bland to me but I don't know if that is because I'm used to eating foods with lots of flavor but nothing really tasted good. For example, we got the steak and potatoes but when it came out, saw barely any steak and we asked for medium rare - it came out well done. Even the oyster wasn't that great. The only thing that was decent was the peach lemonade. Not likely I will ever come back. I've had better.

On a Saturday night, there's a reason why this restaurant sits empty while others at PacCity are extremely busy with a minimum 1 hour wait. Management really should invest in service by providing more resources (servers and bartenders) on peak nights. For the price one pays, no one should have to wait 14 minutes for a beer upon arrival. Moreover, dishes come out separately and not together. So be prepared to watch your friends shovel their faces while you starve or friends that wait for your meal and their's goes ice cold. Plenty of other options in PacCity...Plenty.

If you have read any my other reviews service can add stars to a rating. Lately with c19 there have been allowances made for how things are done. Not here. The service was excellent, the employees helpful and attentive even though we all are on the outside seating. Our group tried several things (see photos) and everything was well made, had great flavors and in the case of the shrimp burrito, larger than it looks. The outdoor seating lends itself to relaxed and comfortable experience. The gourmet sodas, normally not as good as advertised, were close to but better than the normal name brand drinks. Everyone was discussing what we would get next time we came, while we are still sitting there recovering from an incredible meal. Next to the Raw bar to sample the Bar there. Update: Stepped by and was lucky enough to get an off menu item. The staff was brilliant as usual. Restuarant was busy but kept moving. Everyone looked to be enjoying the food and atmosphere. After all the craziness of the last year, it is surprising how satisfying having a place with great food, great service feels.

Healthy, flavorful and inexpensive. Can you ask for anything else when you are in the mood for seafood? Say “yes” when they ask if you want bacon on your clam chowder. Check out their amazing happy hour deals. 4/30 add on: We have always enjoyed your food and positive service staff. We were very shocked today when the ceviche was delivered with 3 pieces of shrimp. Upon bringing this to the attention of Peyton, she rolled her eyes and said “okay.” Two minutes later she delivered the rest of our food to the table. I said “Thank you” and she did not reply at all, just turned and walked away. My daughter stated “You should learn better customer service.” Peyton started arguing with her that the bad food was not her fault and she should not have to say sorry for it and that my daughter should learn manners. I used to own a restaurant and I would have never tolerated the actions I saw today from your service staff. I guess good help is hard to find. Sadly, we have removed your establishment from our “go to” list.

The Raw Bar serves delicious food. Go with friends, during Happy Hour, and try everything on the menu. Prices per item are $4 @ 4p, $4.50 @ 4:30p, $5 @ 5pm & $5.50 @ 5:30p

Not the biggest menu but really good fresh food. Tons of items made with... you guessed it; FISH 🐟 Outdoor seating during Covid-19. The employees were very friendly and the food came out hot 🔥 #LOCALGUIDES #womenwhoguide #googleguides #slapfish #newlandcenterfood #socalfish

Nice, clean location with outside dining. Great food, great service and OMG the Sushi Bar is tha BEST! Happy hour is the best... but either way you won't be disappointed.

On the plus side, excellent customer service, very personable employees. Clean and bright facility and easy to find. I ordered the fish taco as a 'trial run' and it was very large with plenty of grilled fish (you can also get breaded and fried). There were only two couples in the place at 3:30 pm so I was surprised that I had to wait as long as I did for the one item but then, I was in no particular hurry so not a huge problem. However, if the place was busy, it might be a problem for someone having a short lunch break. I was not very impressed with the taste but then to each his own and I will probably give it another shot with the clam chowder and bacon fries (sounds like the Canadian dish, poutine). I was surprised at the cost of the burger which was $16 but didn't order so won't judge harshly but seems pretty steep for the place which didn't have a lot of ambiance (pretty standard fast food decor). As an interesting side note, they offer a lobster cheese sandwich and list all the ingredients on the menu board except the type of cheese!!!

Yum! I got takeout here and the food was ready in 15 minutes which was incredibly convenient! The lobster roll was warm and the gizzard was nice and cool! The clam chowder was average but the lobster taqueria was super crunchy and tasty! Overall enjoyed the experience and surprisingly good quality for a chain!

Pacific Hideaway is a trendy restaurant located just off Fifth and PCH, offering a vibrant atmosphere and an elevated dining experience. The eatery features a patio where guests can enjoy small plates, craft cocktails, and modern New American cuisine. Families with children can appreciate the playful setting, complete with wooden bench swings for kids to dine on while parents indulge in dishes inspired by Southeast Asian and Latin American flavors.
The vibe was perfect for a laid-back catch-up brunch with friends. Such a stylish, coastal decor with open-air seating and ocean breeze, so nice and relaxing. Our server was incredibly friendly and cool, making the whole experience even better with great recommendations and attentive service. Ordered: Boardwalk Breakfast Burrito Blown Out Breakfast Bagel Buttermilk Pancake Drinks: Maui Maui (great for sharing) Everything was absolutely delicious! Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Portions were generous and the menu had something for everyone--including great vegetarian options.

Absolutely delicious and so much food. We had the short rib grilled cheese, mahi mahi tacos, and the chicken plus the kids Mac and cheese. We started with the chili con queso and house chips. The chips were fantastic but the cheese was just ok. All the entrees were so good! With the exception of the tacos all portions were enough for two. We sat on the balcony in the late evening which was cold. They do have heaters but not many. I’d also say they are not very good ones. They do also have blankets which helped. Base the windows are essentially doors the inside is cool as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They do have a kids menu which was pretty standard. They also provided canyons which was very helpful.

Victor was very helpful in giving us advice on what was good, which was everything, of course. We had the avocado toast, and the hideaway hash. The avocado toast was good, lots of greens, a bit more than I expected. The egg was hidden under it all. Overall good taste. The hash was just okay, the rice was a bit over cooked but the overall taste was good. The service was great and the atmosphere was nice.

Had the hideaway hash benny, and oh my god it was amazing. Im normally not a huge fan of hash browns, but the smoky spicy salty flavor was pretty amazing. Clean plate club. Server was friendly, and atmosphere was quiet, as it was an early breakfast 10/10

My Mom, I and our dogs!…. Had the best experience at this hotel! The rooms were beautiful with fun touches such as record players with records in the rooms. We had a great time she was visiting me in Newport, Beach and she wanted to stay at a beautiful hotel near the water. I would meet her there for lunch and we would go bring our dogs to off leash dog beach there. This restaurant is Amazing and we had a wonderful experience Heather and Bianca. The food is amazing! We were so thankful they were so extremely nice to us and our three big dogs! I would highly recommend this place it’s a wonderful experience.

Great place to go, and the highlight is the staff. I usually go out to eat 3 to 4 times a week, and Kyle A made my simple breakfast here a better experience than any other dinning experience in the last quarter. Thank you sir! See you when I come back!

You never know what to expect when going to a restaurant located within a hotel, most of the time it’s mediocre and bland….. this place it the complete opposite! 5-Star experience and food here at the Pacific Hideaway. Bursting with flavor and a really cool setting makes for a great time. We ordered the Cauliflower appetizer, along with fish and chips for the main course- amazing! The food was super fresh and came out very quickly. Service was great and friendly, you can’t go wrong here! Sat out on the balcony overlooking 6th street and the pier. Great views and food.

The seafood restaurant Circle Hook Fish Company offers great food and views of the boats, making it a perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine or beer. The tacos and fries were delicious, and the service was very friendly.
Love their lobster rolls and fish burger. Great taste and wonderful atmosphere with the harbor view. Great to chill with friends or your love one, or just simply enjoy some me time. Would love to go again to try out other foods on the menu.

I’m so happy I came across this place because this food was absolutely delicious. The service was amazing at the atmosphere was really nice and fun too. If you’re in the area, you must stop by here and get yourself some delicious food you won’t regret it. I can’t wait to return back.

Delicious calamari chips and a tasty lobster roll served in a fresh baguette 👌 The outdoor seating right in front of the marina makes it even better—great spot to relax and enjoy the view!
DoingItWithLuv R — Google review
I came here specifically for the beer battered calamari and that is what is listed on the menu behind the cash register. I also noticed they raised the price. After I got the order, I noticed it was different but wasn’t completely sure if I was getting it confused with another restaurant. I thinking I had gotten it confused with another restaurant, I ate it but then realized that I was in the right place and went to check at the register. The waiter said I should get my money back which I paid $17 for such a small portion. It was a smaller portion than the original calamari I came for. The waiter had the manager come over and she told me….sorry, it’s listed in the small paper menus but I ordered off the wall menu. The cashier should have informed me that it had changed. Terrible customer service!! Change it back to the original. I can go to Bear Fish for similar calamari which is a bigger portion and less expensive and tastes better.

Place has a nice view of the ocean/ seating was plentiful. Customer service was normal, nothing extraordinary. Stand in line, order food and they bring it out to you: I ordered an ultimate fry and a beer and it was 40$ with tip: Eating at the marina was nice on a hot day because of the ocean breeze. The ultimate fries was good, but with a nice cool beer, even better. Food did not disappoint.

It's right on the water. Step up to the counter service. Decent seafood. Locals go here frequently

Had lunch here recently with a friend and had a great meal. The staff were amazingly friendly and provided a great recommendation to try the seafood chowder. One of the best chowders I’ve had and also really enjoyed their poke bowl. Located with a nice view of the harbor as well. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.

We love their shrimp and chips! The best lobster bisque we ever had, you found chunks of lobster in the soup and it's super yummy. Very friedly service and we enjoyed the food and the view. A great casual place to visit in a beautiful evening.
