Mannheim Baroque Palace, a grand 18th-century structure, was once the residence of the Prince Electors of the Palatinate. Today, it is primarily utilized by Mannheim University and also features a museum that showcases the palace's former glory. Visitors can explore restored halls displaying historical artifacts, elegant furniture, and classical pieces.
Beautiful castle! I was not expecting to see such a nice place in Mannheim. It’s not the original castle, but still it was a wonderful experience and the place has a rich history. I highly recommend taking an audioguide for the tour.
Martin F — Google review
Nice place to visit, recommended to use audio application. The VR experience was great! It will take 2-3 hours max, there is changing facilities and easy access with strollers all floors.
Nuha A — Google review
We visited this place in an hour as closing time is at 5pm. Such a shame there is only one pamphlet in English exists for this beautiful palace. Painting worth a visit. We tried to use the virtual visit downstairs which was not working
M S — Google review
This is a former palace and the rooms on view are beautiful. The building itself is enormous, but most of it houses a university so only a small portion can be visited. I'm not sure it's worth the entrance fee.
Cheryl S — Google review
What a beautiful palace. Took the tour and you can use your phone with an app to have an audio tour. Every room we visited just makes you think of the people that sat in those seats or ate at that table. The artwork is stunning, statues are beautiful, the carvings on the furniture have to be seen. If you're in the area this should be a must visit.
Vincent D — Google review
Mannheim Palace (Mannheimer Schloss) is one of the largest Baroque palaces in Europe and the former residence of the Electors of the Palatinate. Today it houses the University of Mannheim, yet many historic rooms are preserved and open to visitors. Walking through its grand halls and the vast courtyard, you can sense the cultural and political importance this place once held. The palace gardens stretching towards the Rhine add to its charm, making it a must-see landmark for both history enthusiasts and casual travelers.
Mehmet U — Google review
I enjoyed it so much! The experience starts on the sidewalk looking in. The court yard is impressive and the palace just feels, homey, if it makes sense. The entrance was 9 euros and I received an electronic guide in English which was surprisingly amazing. The information was interesting and it was read in an engaging way. Also, it was usually accompanied by baroque music. Before starting the 'tour' you need to leave your bag at a locker room, so make sure you have a 1 or 2 euro coin. You will get it back when you leave. Inside the palace you can enjoy both the rooms and the architecture, but also pieces of furniture and artifacts. There are several rooms, and several floors. One of the rooms is an interactive music room. You get a pair of headphones and can plug them in at different stations and listen to music and explanations. However - the explanations are in German. I didn't see an option to hear it in English. It is just the right size - enough to see without getting tired or bored, and leaving wanting more. At the end, where you bought the ticket you can buy some post cards and souvenirs - very reasonably priced.
Sasha Y — Google review
Architecture is AMAZING and BREATHTAKING both inside and outside. But i personally would have enjoyed museum more if there was English text. But sadly everything was in German.

Luisenpark in Mannheim is a beautifully landscaped park featuring thousands of flowers, a tropical hall, a butterfly house, and animal enclosures. Visitors can enjoy the park's attractions while sitting at the cafes and bars around Friedrichsplatz. The park offers leisure activities for families and children, including an amusement park, green spaces for relaxation, flower gardens, a picturesque lake, and various sculptures.
Visited when in Mannheim for a single day. Well worth a visit, exceptionally well maintained and a real highlight of the city. It has an aquarium, aviary, greenhouse, farm area and multiple play areas. Fantastic value and biodiversity.
Daniel O — Google review
An absolutely beautiful park. The entrance fee is around 10€, and it’s worth every cent. Inside, you’ll find a well-maintained botanical garden, a few animals like owls, penguins, and alpacas, and several cafés, restaurants, and clean restrooms. One of the highlights is lying on a comfortable sunbed with a tilting backrest under the trees, feeling the breeze — a peaceful happiness that’s hard to describe. (You might even hear an alpaca call in the distance!) You can also take a boat ride through the scenic canals. Overall, a perfectly managed and designed park — even a quiet stroll alone is worth the price of admission.
Jang K — Google review
Very nice recreation park in the Middle of Mannheim. Entry fee is around 10 Euro. You can also purchase a ticket for the whole year. Many restaurants, playgrounds, nice areas to chill and enjoy the silence.
Markus W — Google review
Nice park, heaven for kids! This park is really large, it does have spots for picnic, Chinese style houses(turned into restaurants), big playgrounds, penguins 🐧, snakes, butterflies 🦋 and beautiful flowers ! Tickets costs : 12.50euro
Lokesh M — Google review
If you want to enjoy this park, it's better to come as early as possible to be able to explore all the attractions. There's so much to see. It is family and kids friendly with many innovative and exploratory playgrounds for the kids. We would definitely go back, when the weather starts to cool down.
Doyin C — Google review
Great city centre park with beautiful gardens birds and cafe/restaurant. Very relaxing place to spend a sunny morning.
Gareth O — Google review
Luisenpark is truly one of the best destinations in Mannheim, perfect for all ages but especially for families with children. The park is full of fun and variety: • There are many playgrounds, including a fantastic water playground that kids absolutely love on warm days. • One of the highlights is watching the penguins – you can even see them swimming up close through special underwater windows, which is magical for children and adults alike. • A must-visit inside the park is the Unterwasserwelt (Underwater World), where you can discover a wide range of fascinating fish species.
Aida M — Google review
It's really a huge park with underwater world, penguins, some plants, Chinese cafe also inside is really good, some cafes. Really nice with family esp with kids. There are also some animals like alpaca, butterflies, different birds, etc. There's an entrance fee, I think was around 6 Euro each for adult.

Technoseum is an interactive museum that delves into the science, industry, and technology of south-western Germany. It offers a comprehensive look at the region's industrialization, featuring exhibits on significant 18th-century industries such as clock-making, paper production, and weaving. The museum also showcases machinery from various sectors, providing insights into the technological, economic, and social development of the area from medieval times to the present day.
Very interactive musuem with English information alongside German. Lots of things to see and the toy exhibition was a real highlight, allow at least a few hours to see everything as we ran out of time with only 2 hours. Highly recommend for both adults and kids. Only issues were that some exhibitions were broken, the gift store was also quite poor. Only sold toys and other cheaply made items, did not have any merchandise or souvenirs (not even postcards) that were related to the musuem. A shame as I always like buying something to support places like these but there was nothing of interest, something like magnets, post cards, souvenir euros, etc would be ideal.
Goot — Google review
Great museum explaining basic concepts around technology and science and also providing a timeline of devices, toys and vehicles/machines. Very suitable for curious children and also something interesting is there for adults. One can spend 6+ hours but less is also possible depending on what you want to get.
Cansu K — Google review
Most interactive museum ever. From processes in physics to wind simulators. The museum did a great job in establishing a timeline, from the ancient times on the top floor to the present ages in the lowest floor. I would recommend it to any age group. There’s a lot to see even for children and some memories for elders. German and English is available as the language of instruction. A must-go place if you live in Germany or anywhere near!
Zafar M — Google review
This museum is absolutely worth the trip. The space is extensive, offering plenty to explore without feeling repetitive. To fully appreciate everything, plan for an entire day—it’s both educational and fascinating. The collection of vintage items is impressive, and the experience is enjoyable for all ages. A great destination for families and highly recommended for those who love history and culture.
R. C — Google review
The museum was very informative and extremely fun. There's a lot to learn and so many interactive areas that are great for kids but even keep us adults intrigued in the activities. There are several floors to go through and it will take a long time to really go through it all so best recommendation is to go early on and plan a whole day there if you are a huge advocate in history and love to learn. I will definitely be going again in the future but this time reserve an entire day.
Anthony B — Google review
Very interesting and interactive museum with many interactive experiments for children and adults as well. Unfortunately "Nur für Deutche" - almost everything described in german ONLY. Shame. Apart of that, very good. Should book full day for visit with no rush.3 stars for german descriptions only.
Daniel S — Google review
We loved it, the museum is delightful and interactive. Thank you to the staff. If it is possible, we do not know German well, and my level of English was not enough to understand and translate the description of the exhibits to the children. It would be good if they would add Russian language to the app. It would be more convenient with an app.

The Jesuit Church in Mannheim, completed in 1760, is a stunning example of Baroque architecture. Designed by Alessandro Galli Bibiena as a replica of the Church of the Gesu in Rome, it boasts twin bell towers and an opulent interior with polychrome marble. Despite being heavily damaged during World War II, the church has been meticulously reconstructed to its former glory. The lavish altar, royal boxes, frescos and paintings make for a visually captivating experience.
This church is gorgeous! You need to see it for yourself to believe it. The green and red marble work, along with the gold, it's a feast for your eyes.
Prerona B — Google review
Excellent place to visit in Mannheim. Monumental Catedral is composed into the old buildings scene. We had a luck to also hear organ concert (during summer every Sunday). Cathedral is normally opened for messes, so it's not only museum.
Paweł K — Google review
Extremely beautiful church. It's completely with marble. Loved the interior and the details. I attended Sunday mass here. The mass is usually in German but it's really worth.
Cheryl L — Google review
Was on the Amawaterways cruise down the Rhein about a year ago, and was originally signed up to visit Heidelberg, but ended up sleeping in. Thankfully I knew this church was nearby, and I figured I should pay a visit, and I'm certainly glad that I did. It was worth the walk all the way from the ship to the church.
Kevin T — Google review
A beautiful place of peace. The altar and the entire interior of the church leave you breathless. You can't stop admiring the beauty. Entrance is free and taking pictures is not allowed during the church ceremony.
GPTabs G — Google review
Our family has a tradition of going to different churches and temples of the cities in which we travel. and we especially liked this church - it is bright, sincere and warm! You feel so comfortable and safe in it - like in the arms of a mother.

Very beautiful church, there was a service on first time I tried to visit, but went back later, chirch empty but organ being played. Very atmospheric.

Kunsthalle Mannheim is a must-visit for art and architecture enthusiasts, featuring a spectacular new building that provides fresh spaces for art and offers new perspectives on Mannheim. Established over 100 years ago, it holds one of Germany's most esteemed civic collections. The renowned architects von Gerkan, Marg and Partners were tasked with designing the new Kunsthalle Mannheim.
A really nice exhibition with a lot of fantastic artists! What especially cheered me was that they had a lot of female artists presented there. Not all museums are doing that, so I was pretty impressed. Furthermore, there were surprisingly loads of people haha
Sasha — Google review
Wow!! What a fantastic modern art gallery! The setting and architecture are impressive with incredibly interesting exhibits set over three floors. It’s well worth a visit.
Kevin H — Google review
I loved the exhibition. The building is also very modern and they have friendly staff! Also a big rest room for disabled. Good job and nice experience there👍
Tom K — Google review
I came to visit the exhibition on New Objectivity ("Neue Sachlichkeit") ans really enjoyed my visit. Many great artworks and well curated exhibition with a lot of information. I think Audio guides are available online but also at the entrance. The exhibition is roughly structured into sections with self-portraits and portraits, landscapes and still-life as well as a section on sketches, drawings and lithographies. I recommend the exhibition. The underground car park "Kunsthalle" is a disaster though.
Ephtron — Google review
The art is really cool but the staff makes the entire experience unpleasant. They make it their life's mission to follow you around and watch your every step and it seems like they decide individually which guests are allowed to keep their bags and which aren't. Weird vibes all around.
Erika R — Google review
Very interesting museum with a very diversity of art something for everyone I guess they have a gift shop pricey for what it was but when you’re in this city might as well take a look

It’s a very artistic building full of different kind of art! There is the gallery and the sculptures and a nice exhibition that are always happening all along the year so you can check the website and register to some tours. It’s always free on the first Wednesday of each month, so that’s a chance to go around and enjoy the creativity! 🤩

Herzogenried Park is a 21-hectare green oasis in Mannheim, Germany, offering a variety of attractions for families and visitors of all ages. The park features a picturesque lake with fountains, rose and cottage gardens, as well as facilities for table tennis and boules. Families can enjoy getting up close with animals and exploring playgrounds, mazes, a cave, waterworks, and even driving tractors.
5-star haven! This park is a gem, offering plenty of shade to escape the sun, grills for a fun BBQ session, and an amazing playground for the kids to burn off energy. It's the perfect spot to unwind and relax on a bank holiday or weekend. Highly recommend for a stress-free day out with family and friends! 🌳🏞️👍
Eduardo S — Google review
Ideal for both children and adults, with a small entry fee and lots of open green space. However, it’s not the best choice for October, as many areas were under renovation.
Eftychia S — Google review
Nice place for the complete family. A lot of animals, playgrounds, and green areas to chill out. No dogs allowed, so children can play without getting chased by a dog.
Regine L — Google review
Such a wonderful experience at the park! The facilities are top-notch, the gardens and greenery are beautifully maintained, and everything feels spacious and thoughtfully designed. Free parking is a great bonus, and it’s clear how much care and attention has gone into every detail. Truly a perfect place to spend time and enjoy.
Shany B — Google review
Sadly, I found this place to be a bit depressing. The cool architectural structure was closed and in major disrepair. All the walkways and stairways are blocked off. Yes, the green areas with ducks, bamboo, ponds, etc were beautiful, but I was really excited to see the structure up close and it wasn't possible. The food stand and mini golf area was really run down. Also important to note that not every entrance can be used if you don't already have a card. It's a huge park, definitely bring a stroller or wagon if kids aren't big walkers. We didn't make it to the animals. Adults were luckily only €3.50 and my young children were free. Parking was free.
Erica A — Google review
It is a very nice and we'll preserved park. Perfect for spending good quality time with family and friends or just enjoy yourself with nature and a book. It has a restaurant, toilets, lots of playgrounds for kids, minigolf, place to grill, a mini zoo and lots more. You have to pay to go in, but it's not so expensive and it worth. It's not so big as Luisenpark, but is also not so crowded.
José M — Google review
Been to this nice park in the city today (June 2020). There is an entrance fee of 3.50€ for adults. Year ticket is also possible. There are some farm animals, nice flowers (mainly roses), ponds, and trees around. Enjoyed it.

We had so much fun. The parking was so easy and well signed. We were able to pay when we arrived and that made leaving super easy for us. The signage to know were we were sitting was also clear and easy to understand. They had so many different food stands with different offerings. No complaints here. They were so many bathrooms - the wait in the lines went by so quickly. We were there for a ice hockey game and definitely will comeback. The staff was kind and helpful and the place was clean and welcoming.

We came for a Mannheim Adler hockey game. The transit was easy to use to/from the arena. Being able to see the map of the inside from outside, to understand where you would sit, the bathrooms and food options was helpful. Seats were good/as expected and the cup holders were a nice touch (haven't seen these at a Canadian arena)
Lana P — Google review
Was at David Garrett concert. During the music, was leaving but stopped for a minute in front of exit, immediately scolded by a middle eastern male staff. We did pay money for the event and yet being treated like this is ridiculous.
Nat W — Google review
Good ice-hockey game. SAP Arena is a nice arena and very well maintained.
Giao N — Google review
Good Layout, we've been there many, many times for hockey. Today I was there for a concert. They could spread out the food and beverage options - there's nothing on one side and you have to walk down to the first level and halfway around the arena. I always take the train, there's a stop right outside the parking lot. Parking a car there is a nightmare when you go to leave.
Amergerm — Google review
SAP Arena is a great venue for concerts. Very good sound and easy access. Ranks are steeper than in other concert halls, but you have excellent view. We stood in the ground floor anyways. During the show, getting drinks is comfortable with short walks to the stands. Queing time was acceptable, as only one of two sales booths was open - Judas Priest was not sold out. We came by car from Karlsruhe direction and directions were clearly given by various signs (good addition to Navi). Parking spaces in abundance, you can pay ticket before concert to save some time, yet you will phase some traffice jam in the garage anyways before leaving the premises. After that it is smooth sailing.

Wasserturm Mannheim is a sandstone water tower and historic landmark adorned with sculptures, dating back to 1889. Located in a city square, it offers numerous options for dining out and features a beautifully maintained park ideal for picnics and walks during warm weather when the water flows. However, it is currently undergoing refurbishment work which may detract from its appeal. In winter months, the trees and flowers lose their vitality.
"Wasserturm" literally means "Water Tower"—and indeed, this was once the central facility that supplied water to the city of Mannheim. Today, it no longer performs its original function. Instead, the people of Mannheim have entrusted it with a new mission: to anchor a beautiful park and a dancing fountain at the heart of the city. The park surrounding the tower is impeccably maintained. Even with many visitors, it offers a surprising sense of privacy and peace. The water is astonishingly clear—so clean that it seems to carry the scent of fresh drinking water—and the mingling of this with the green scent of the grass creates a unique and calming harmony. On a sunny day, walking up toward the tower and looking out toward the perfectly symmetrical shopping avenues is immensely satisfying. This level of urban planning seems to radiate quiet order, bringing a kind of peace to the mind. Along with Luisenpark, this is one of the most essential stops for any visitor to Mannheim. And yet, as beautiful as it is, there are signs that some of the nearby shops stand empty. I sincerely hope that this peaceful and elegant city will once again enjoy the prosperity it deserves.
Jang K — Google review
It was quite a nice spot, couldn't enter the tower at this time (7 april). But the garden was nice, unfortunately the fountains were drained so I didn't get to enjoy those. Definitely recommend stopping by and have a nice sit or little walk.

Nice spot to relax and spend some time. Entry into the tower is not allowed, but you can sit here and enjoy watching the water flow.

It's a shame the tower is so seldom open to the public, but the view from the steps and terrace with the fountains and colourful, immaculately-maintained flower beds is definitely worth a visit.

It's worse it to visit this place. A great overview over this place with a waterfall and a nice fountain. From here you just cross the main road to join the impressive shopping streets with Kunststraße, Planken and Fressgasse with international Restaurants.

The impressive structure known as Fernmeldeturm Mannheim is situated on the banks of the Neckar River. This architectural marvel, also referred to as the telecommunication tower, stands adjacent to Luisenpark. Reaching an astounding height of 715 ft, it houses various transmission facilities including those for UHR radio services, microwave communications, and omnidirectional radio services. Moreover, it boasts a glassed observation deck that allows visitors to enjoy breathtaking views.
Been there for the third time in last three years. I love the view from up the tower. Sunsets could also be amazing. The only downside is the entrance fee was expensive, especially if you have to pay for multiple people when you go with family😅 (12€ per person, Apr/2024). Photos are from two different times.

Good place to see the panorama of Mannheim's city. Probably in the summer it works the rotating platform. In the winter I only could go there and walk around this platform, which was enough for admiring the city. First I erased two stars because of the young lady in the elevator, which wasn't as I expected her to be face to visitors. I paid the fee but I didn't get a ticket. I ask her to speak in English because I don't know German but she didn't tell more than 2-3 words. I asked if I can get to the restaurant and she told it's closed. Absolutely surprise when I go down, with a man this time and he stop at the restaurant that was open. I wanted to enter but the young lady stood in the front of door almost yelling at me : "I said you need a reservation, Madam!" NO, young lady, you said it is closed, NOT that I need a reservation. By the way, the tables were empty... Sad. Instead her colleague, the man in the elevator, deserves +10* because of his politeness, behaviour and good command of English. So I give a star back. Thank you, Sir, for being so well prepared to interract with the tourist! Keep going, Sir!

I love heights therefore I could not miss visiting this 218 meters tall Mannheim dominant offering spectacular 360 degree views! Ticketing office at the base of the tower was closed and honestly the whole place looked abandoned, however once I got to the elevator I paid the 10 EUR entrance fee with the guy servicing the elevator (actually I paid at the restaurant with a card as the gentlemen accepted only cash)! Once at the platform I was able to enjoy the view of Mannheim and its surroundings. I liked the fact the viewing platforms windows were at an angle, therefore when I leaned over the railing I was able to see directly underneath me, which got me excited and frankly was more interesting than watching the horizon and the cities in the proximity. There were explanatory boards on the ledges giving basic descriptions about what can be seen from up here! Views were great, not blocked by any buildings or mountains. I was a little disappointed with the tinted window glass, which gave a kinda green-ish vibe, not exactly the most flattering. Originally I was not planning to visit the restaurant at all but since I had to go there and pay anyway, I settled in for a beer. The restaurant's platform revolves around its axis once per hour and I surprised myself to stay nearly for a full round. Names of the nearby cities and important sites were written on each column, making sure I won’t miss anything - a very clever idea! Restaurant was half empty during the time of my visit, therefore the service was quick. Nice and friendly waiter Tobias gave me additional information about Mannheim which was appreciated. The overall atmosphere was nice, quiet and enjoyable. Large selection of drinks and fair prices! Next time I would skip the observation platform and come straight to the restaurant (still you’d have to pay the entrance fee). Visited in June 2022.

Very nice venue. Food was surprisingly good, good value. Parking is for free, but the elevator ride should be for free if you dine in the restaurant. That is really unnecessary. Otherwise they could have received 5 stars.

What a wonderful attraction - great views, easy access, low cost, and surprisingly NOT crowded even on this August Sunday afternoon. We came with our kids ages 6, 4, and 2 years old, parked at the adjacent lot (Hans-Reschke-Ufer 2 Parking) and walked the short distance to the tower entrance (after confirming we weren't supposed to buy tickets at the Luisenpark kasse), then entered the lobby and pressed on the "up" button on the elevator. Turns out you pay the man operating the elevator, cash only, and kids under 6 are free. The elevator was fast and smooth, and given the lack of crowds came quickly and were empty other than us and the operator. He let us out on the viewing platform floor and we spent about 20 minutes there, mostly while my kids ran circles around the tower and my husband and I looked at the signs pointing out distant landmarks. There were clean bathrooms on that level. We did NOT go to the restaurant as it looked a little too fancy (and expensive) for what we were going for with our young kids, but I bet it's absolutely amazing and would like to go back should we ever have a chance to get a sitter while we are in Germany. We continued on to the Luisenpark, which was a delight as well and both things took up the whole day. Highly recommend making the trip just for this tower, but definitely if you're already in the area.

Unmistakable, unmissable part of the Mannheim skyline. It sticks out from the rest of the buildings like the tower it is. And it is a pretty tower indeed. There's a revolving restaurant at the top of the tower.

It consists of three exhibition houses that offer immersive experiences spanning from early human history to contemporary photography. The museum is renowned for its extensive collections in archaeology, world cultures, and photography, making it one of the most significant exhibition venues in Europe.
I love the children play area!! It’s amazing!! The room that they made like a tomb wow!! And the collection with explanations!! What an amazing experience I had there

Each part of the museum was different price to enter. Arrived 1.15hr before closing and the gift shop was already shut. They have some great artifacts and decent staff, but would have been lovely to being souvenirs. Lastly, they only accept German bank card?! Any visitors from other parts of the world, simply can't pay?

Great place to spend an afternoon with kids. The movies are fun and funny, the chairs are comfortable and the service works usually quite smoothly. The Luisenpark and the Techno Museum in close proximity allows to combine both activities. (Translated by Google) There are 4 stars for the impressive view. The food was very nicely prepared but wasn't entirely convincing considering the high prices. Tables and chairs are practical and OK but do not reflect the high level of prices. The toilets are also functional but are very old and could do with a renovation. All in all, we really enjoyed it there and the 3 hours (and 3 laps) felt like it flew by.
Michi S — Google review
(Translated by Google) Positive: Great view, friendly staff and the dishes taste really delicious. Negative: you go up into the 90s. Everything is getting old, both the toilets and the furnishings. Unfortunately, as usual in special places, the price/performance ratio for the dishes is manageable quantities on the plates with high prices. 12.50 for an Aperol is already very exorbitant. Very warm room temperatures that evening. And what I found a bit of a rip off was the lift fee of 12 euros per person. Of course, in the end it was nicely wrapped up and slapped on top when we paid the bill. You might expect that if you're already paying for expensive food and drink up there, then adding something like that would be really cheeky. I couldn't read it even when making the reservation. If it had been a flat rate of 3 or 5 euros it would have been ok, but it would have been the full admission price for a lift ride up and down with Lift Boy. Once and never again is my conclusion.

(Translated by Google) The food and portion size really wasn't bad and the service was super friendly. But to be honest: you go here mainly because of the sensational view!! The three of us had a wonderful evening and are already looking forward to our next visit. Of course the prices are higher than at a "normal" restaurant, but that's clear when you consider the location and the associated logistical and maintenance effort... The fact that the furnishings probably date from the 90s didn't bother us.
Thomas G — Google review
(Translated by Google) Right at the beginning: The view was incredible. We went in the evening and the city lights were really beautiful. The staff was extremely friendly and caring and the food was beautifully prepared and also quite tasty. Although there is nothing unusual in terms of taste. The star deduction is because you also have to pay for the trip to the top as a restaurant guest. So we paid €25 for a 10 second elevator ride. That's a bit unnecessary as a restaurant guest.
Stumpfization — Google review
(Translated by Google) Absolutely worth a visit. Especially since we learned that it's supposed to close at the end of the year due to fire safety. The owners are continuing with a new restaurant, though. Personally, I would have preferred better table setting; the tablecloths were pretty torn. But that's just my personal impression. The food was excellent, and so was the service. The view was amazing while dining. Sure, you have to pay a bit more, but the operating costs like the elevator, turntable maintenance, etc., add up. Go again before it's gone. It's worth it.
Lady. A — Google review
(Translated by Google) Judging by the prices, the menu promises haute cuisine. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn't quite live up to this expectation. The food was good and plentiful, but it wasn't anything special. When you add the obligatory €12 for the lift, it's quite expensive. It's worth it if you add €20 for the view, which is indeed very beautiful and certainly unique. Another plus point is the truly excellent service.

First day back in my home country... Really looked forward to go out and enjoy local hospitality however was shocked about the welcome at Dachgarten and the general lack of interest and customer focus of the service staff. Not only were the person of contact not helpful but actually flat out rude. 2nd contact I was left standing at the bar, while 4 people were so occupied with themselves that noone noticed me or gave a minimum level of attention. The food was really good however this is just part of the experience... I am wondering what people from overseas think leaving a place like this...

Really great option to lunch or dinner! The burgers are really good, with nice options and side dishes (I love the sweet potatoes fries!)! The service is great, but sometimes the waiters/host take too long to welcome and seat you. The environment is specially good if you seat outside with a nice sunset view! In the summer I highly recommend eating outside if you are having dinner close to the sunset hour! Although the size of the dishes are big, I think it is a bjt overpriced for burgers…

Roof Lounge in Mannheim has a lot to offer! I ordered the pulled beef burger, which was really good – juicy and full of flavor. However, the truffle fries were dry and not particularly special. The atmosphere was a bit cold due to an open door that should have been closed, which made the experience less cozy. On the bright side, the service was excellent – very friendly and attentive. A decent spot overall, but with room for improvement.

Lacklaster experience with okay-ish drinks but bad service. We got first drinks pretty fast. We wanted another round of drinks but after 20 minutes of no one coming we were done. Food, and drinks taste good, the view is beautiful. For the price I was expecting something different, presentation doesn’t make sense for that price point. I’d come for drinks again but skip the food. Also, when it gets dark there aren’t any candles or some sort of dim lighting on the tables and I think that was missing from the ambiance.

Mannheim Hauptbahnhof is a well-equipped mid-sized train station in southwestern Germany. It boasts spacious facilities with a wide range of services, including dining options and travel information facilities. The station efficiently handled over 100,000 people via train in 2023 and is known for its accessibility, with each train line having direct access to the street.
The train station is incredibly spacious and offers a wide range of services, from dining options to additional amenities like travel information facilities. In 2023, this station efficiently handled the transit of over 100,000 people via train. One of the standout features of this train station, in my opinion, is its accessibility. Despite being located beneath a large building, each train line has direct access to the street, although it may be available only during working hours. I felt safe and well-informed thanks to the numerous large information panels that provided updates on train schedules and any changes. This train station is truly impressive in its design and functionality.

The main station building at Mannheim Hbf is fully closed at nights between 2:00 and 4:30. The toilets are not accessible at this time completely. Platforms are available; there are some benches and vending-machines on the platforms. I would recommend avoiding night transfers in Mannheim.

Mannheim Hauptbahnhof was unfortunately frustrating due to the extensive and ongoing construction work. Despite being a vital intersection for the German railway network, the current infrastructure feels inadequate, with significant parts of the station resembling a construction site. This often led to difficulties navigating the platforms and finding connections, making the overall travel experience stressful and confusing. While the modernization project is necessary for the future, current visitors should be prepared for cluttered walkways, lack of clear signage in some areas, and general disruption. I sincerely hope that when the massive infrastructure overhaul is finally complete, the station will live up to its importance as a major German transport hub.

Mannheim is a 'chessboard' city, with the streets between the Neckar River and the palace having been laid out in a strict grid formation in the 17th century. Mannheim Palace Church, located within the Mannheim Palace, was initially built as a court chapel and is surprisingly beautiful with its baroque architecture. The church may seem inconspicuous from the outside but boasts a high ceiling adorned with impressive paintings inside. The Mannheimer Rosengarten, also known as m:con, is an Art Nouveau concert hall and congress center that has been hosting cultural and corporate events since 1903. With a capacity of over 2000 people, it continues to attract international artists like Sting and Whitesnake. The building's charming and versatile design makes it suitable for various activities, from balls to concerts. Additionally, its underground parking provides convenient access to the venue.
I recently visited Rosengarten Mannheim for attending a Philharmonic orchestra concert, and it was an outstanding experience! The venue is architecturally stunning, blending historic charm with modern amenities. The staff were exceptionally professional and helpful, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable visit. The location is perfect, situated in the heart of Mannheim with easy access to public transportation. The surrounding gardens are beautifully maintained, offering a serene escape amidst the bustling city. Whether you're attending a conference, a concert, or just exploring, Rosengarten Mannheim provides a top-notch experience. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area! PS. There’s air-conditioning! For hot summer day is certainly a big plus. 👍

Mannheimer Rosengarten: A stunning venue with room for improvement. The architecture and design of this concert hall are truly impressive. The acoustics were top-notch, and I had fantastic views of the stage from my seat on the balcony. However, the lack of food options was disappointing. It would be great if they offered some snacks or light meals for concertgoers. Additionally, the lounge area was closed during my visit, which was a missed opportunity to relax and enjoy a drink before the show. Overall, Mannheimer Rosengarten is a beautiful venue that could be even better with some minor adjustments. Despite the lack of amenities, the excellent acoustics and comfortable seating make it a great choice for a night of music.
Rob W — Google review
Very nice charming venue building. Compact, yet big and versatile enough to accomodate large groups with different activities. The parking under the building is very practical, yet the access is rather narrow. I scratched the paint off one of my rims due to the tight bend for my (big & wide) car. That the parking gives direct access to the building is a real advantage. It allows you to go back and forth to your car during the venue/day. What is incomprehensible is the lack of connectivity in the building. During Guitar Summit ‘23 I was unable to connect to the free wifi installed by the organiser, but there was absolutely no 4G/5G cellular internet connection. That must be improved! The big breakout rooms and main concert halls were acoustically fit for purpose. Really nicely done and beautiful with all the wood finishing.

They were the best pizza in Mannheim, but are going downhill. Last year they removed a lot of the best flavors of Pizza like the Tartufo one. Now they slashed the selection even more and are using only cheaper ingredients. They also changed the place where the pizzas where made, so while the dough taste almost as good as before, it is slightly worse. A pity, really. Also, after talking with the waiters and sitting in a table we waited 20 minutes and we were not handed the menus, so I had to take them. After more 10 minutes or so we were about to leave when the waiter came to take our order. The waiters were friendly, but maybe because they were also new. Because they changed a lot of things on this restaurant recently - sad it is most for the worse :,( The toilet is now cleaner.

This is a THE most brutalistic and depressing train station ever. Everything here, the concrete and steel beams, say "move on fast, dont look back" , it is the most unfriendly liminal space i have ever encountered. Backroom vibes. You can watch dead pigeons decay in the nets above the tracks, which should prevent the pigeons from beeing there in the first place. You visit the train station again a month later. Same bird in the same net, just in a new phase of decay. In the winter there are green parrots. Don't ask why.. they are now living here... green parrots, giving the whole thing a rather surrealistic feel. Like some divine joke, noone else gets. There is one baked goods shop and one pub. Never seen anyone coming out of the pub or going in there. But there is definitly people, drinking, laughing, hiding. From whats out there, directly at their door. This alien liminal space. Once or twice i bought some stuff from the food vendor. But it always gives me the vibe that noone wants to be here, not even the clerk. The interaction felt more like a drug trade then buying a Butterbretzel. Fast, cold and calculated. Once I found a broken crack pipe lying in front of the train station, indicating that at least someone had fun. But noone is actually here, as a presence... even at nights, not even the homeless. The only thing you see and hear is the colorful grafiti in the underground passage and the humming noises of the neon lights at night, attracting a constant swarm of Insects and spiders. Sometimes you see strangers going on their own way, noone looks up... everyone wants to leave here.. fast. Like a human instinct, knowing that this here is some kind of alien space, not made for humans. Signs are sparse and misleading. Like the train station doesn't want you to leave, it tricks you and you have to stay even longer, becaused you missed your train. In the middle of the train station is a miniature of a train station. The miniature looks stained, old and used, not something you want to touch. Like that miniature from the movie Beetlejuice. Perfect setting for a horror movie. But not a good place to be.
Kaptain K — Google review

Mannheim Harbour is a prominent and expansive harbor in Germany, offering a delightful experience for tourists. (Translated by Google) Unfortunately, 0 point is not possible. The harbor is increasingly becoming a focal point for party youth, car posers and other rabble who no longer have any respect. They litter the harbor, run their engines loudly, and while under the influence of drugs, they organize car races and do donuts. Until 4 a.m. at times. No regard for others, the law or the police. The port company is watching here and not lifting a finger. Companies in the port and residents have to deal with this rabble themselves. The police let this happen. There is no sign of any lasting action. This creates a legal vacuum here. If we want citizens to have trust in the rule of law, then we should also enforce the law and not just stand by and get caught up in debates about responsibility. The port company and the city should be ashamed of this port. Zeitgeschichtliches Museum Mannheim, founded by Dirk Schulz, offers an engaging tour presenting the history of the First and Second World Wars and the post-war years. Visitors were thrilled by the informative and impressive presentation. The museum boasts a variety of unique exhibits that are both interesting and fun to explore. Guests highly recommend a visit to this fascinating museum with its friendly owner who enthusiastically answers questions.
Our group of 30 secondary school students from Hong Kong had the pleasure of visiting the Zeitgeschichtliches Museum Mannheim two weeks ago. We were thoroughly impressed by the museum and the wonderful tour arranged for us. The museum itself has an impressive collection of artifacts and exhibits covering World War I and World War II. The displays were well-curated and provided great historical context, allowing us to gain a deeper understanding of these pivotal periods in history. What really made the experience exceptional, however, was the guided tour led by the museum's founder, Mr. Dirk, and his knowledgeable friend. The tour was engaging and informative throughout. Mr. Dirk and his colleague brought the exhibits to life, sharing fascinating stories and insights that brought the history to life. They encouraged our students to interact with the displays and ask questions, fostering a truly immersive and educational experience. By the end of the tour, our students had learned so much and left with a greater appreciation for the museum and the history it represents. The Zeitgeschichtliches Museum Mannheim is a true gem, and we highly recommend it to anyone interested in World War history or seeking a captivating and educational museum experience.

I literally found this museum by googling "bunker Mannheim" and was not disappointed at all. I'd been living in Mannheim for years and had no idea this was there! The museum is interesting and educational, and the folks running it are very friendly and helpful! The main focus of the exhibit ranged from WW1 to the American occupation, though there are a few things here and there that show what happened after. It does show parts of history that are terrifying in the hopes that we can learn from them. For someone living in Mannheim, it is very eye-opening to learn about how the city was affected by the war and how it changed over time. I would say the museum is a must! It is small and only open on the first and third Sundays of the month. I would budget a couple of hours, though we were done in less time.

NTM Nationaltheater Mannheim, a circa-1957 building, is renowned for hosting numerous German and world premieres of opera, theater, and dance performances. The venue offers a diverse program featuring classical operas and modern dance performances. While some visitors praise the talented opera musicians and modern dancers, others express concerns about the use of playback music during dance performances. Despite mixed reviews on seating comfort and production presentation, many appreciate the impeccable music and vocal performances.
A historic venue for opera, ballet, and drama, Mannheim’s National Theatre played a crucial role in the development of German theater. It hosted the premiere of Schiller’s "The Robbers," demonstrating its significance in European literary and performing arts history.

This place is supposed to be quite a big deal in terms of the arts scene in the region. There is a decent number of shows happening at any point in time, some even in English. Prices are very reasonable. We caught an opera performance here in the front row. If you're feeling artsy, why not?
Chung — Google review
Only ever watched operas here. Terrible seats, but other than that there is very little to complain. The music is always immaculate, the vocal performance astounding. Unfortunately, some productions are rather dull and boring. Please at least provide your characters with swords on stage when the sword plays a major role in the story. Yes, I'm talking about Nothung.

Yuanqin C — Google review
They have great opera musicians and modern dancers. Really like their performances. Top for music evenings. Unfortunately they are saving on live music for their dancers lately, volume of playback music turned up in part so loud you need earplugs. Their own theatre performances could use some less boring presentation. Looking forward for great plays again during Schillertage.

The Carl-Benz-Stadion, home to SV Waldhof Mannheim, was the venue for a game that left mixed impressions. The stadium itself received praise, but the process of reaching the seats was inconvenient. In order to enter and exit, one had to go through the main entrance and traverse the parking lot. This aspect discouraged further bookings in that area. However, SVW's performance on the field garnered appreciation as they created a great atmosphere despite being a 3rd league club.
Tight security. Nice field you can see the field from any seat. Good simple food, beer & drinks available.

Homeground of the traditional Team SV Waldhof Mannheim. Worthwile to visit a home game of the so called „Buwe“. In the 80ies the Buwe played Bundesliga and had a huge impact. 3rd ranked of visitors After Bayern and Dortmund, Waldhof threatened the local traditional Teams Like Stuttgart or Kaiserslautern to take Away their Fan base which was in the 80ies the financial basis. They were forbidden to Play in the Südweststadion in Ludwigshafen which was a suburb of Mannheim formerly (called the Rheinschanze). The Südweststadion had a capacity above 40.000. This politically enforced initiative initiated the decline of Waldhof and started the rivalry with Kaiserslautern. Finally in the 90ies the Club had to relocate to the newly built Carl Benz Stadion. The stadium is named after Carl Benz, because Carl Benz has invented the Car and published the patent in Mannheim.

Was went to a game for SVW Waldhof Mannheim. Love the Stadium but did not like the way you had to get to our seats for this game. Oststadt Theater Mannheim e.V. is a popular destination for comedy theatre shows and plays, drawing both locals and tourists. The venue offers a joyful atmosphere, along with amenities such as a restaurant, cafeteria, cloakroom, and booking office. Visitors praise the friendly staff and the availability of food and drinks. While some note that seating can be narrow, others appreciate the amiable acting in productions like "Die Tanzstunde." The modern theater provides comfortable seating but limited legroom.
The acting was amiable. "Die Tanzstunde," the play I saw, was mildly funny - not an intellectual sort of funny, but in the way of gesture. I would have liked a more intricate story. The crowd was conservative; whether that had an influence on the nature of the story, one might consider. Drinks served during intermission at the bar overlooking Paradeplatz was charming. Although the seats in the modern theater are very comfortable, the legroom was less than on an economy charter flight. Overall, I would have rather awarded 4.5 stars, but they rounded up to 5. I'll probably go again, but not for a while.

(Translated by Google) Last night, four of us (two couples) went to see a yogurt for two. The play itself and the actors deserve five stars. However, there are double standards. Some people have to leave their jackets at the cloakroom even though they're cold (my girlfriend), while others are allowed to keep theirs on. I didn't like that. It's a shame it spoiled our evening a bit. Very entertaining with outstanding actors who shine with both facial expressions and gestures, as well as with top-notch dancing! Anyone who's ever tried a pool bar like this knows what I mean! Chapeau! We love coming to OTM - and this time I even got lucky in the raffle! (Original) Brandheiß- Gelöscht wird später! (Translated by Google) One star because, in terms of personnel, the way people were treated left much to be desired, and although the problem was known (I read the reviews), no changes were made. The performance was nice. ...but...I was cold. At the cloakroom, I was told I had to leave my jacket for "fire safety" reasons. I noticed that others were wearing jackets. Equal treatment would be desirable. The cloakroom/reception area is a showcase for the company; in my opinion, there is a need for improvement here. I didn't feel well looked after, and that ruined even the most enjoyable evening.

We weren't served during the concert's intermission, despite repeatedly waving to the waiter, who was working alone. We weren't allowed to order directly at the bar. We were thirsty, the intermission was over, we weren't given anything to drink, and then there was no way to get one inside. And even at the hotel bar, the waiter wouldn't sell us a drink, arguing that we should have ordered it during the intermission. Good joke. In diesem Wissen absolut sehenswert!

The BUGA 23 is quite nice, but unfortunately it cannot keep up with the BUGA in Heilbronn. In my opinion, what was shown was largely boring. There were areas that were really beautiful and exciting. Other parts seemed loveless and one had the impression that there were gap fillers. The cable car is of course cool. But the concept of separating the BUGA into two areas did not seem coherent. The Luisenpark is beautiful, but strictly speaking it has nothing to do with the BUGA 23. It was already there before, the integration is missing. In my opinion, the entrance fee is excessive at 28 euros. Unfortunately, the prices on the premises are even more exaggerated (sausage 5 euros, currywurst 10.50 euros, 0.5l coke 4 euros, popsicles 4 euros). It was only possible to pay in cash at the catering stands on the premises, which in my opinion is no longer up to date. May 2023

(Translated by Google) Well organized and beautiful areas with flowers. Riding the cable car is fun. However, not everything seems to be finished yet. Maybe things will look better in 4 weeks. Unfortunately you already pay the full entrance fee. In addition, you have to pay for the train etc. Food and drinks are also a bit expensive. You should plan your visit later to see the finished BUGA.

(Translated by Google) We already knew Luisenpark; nice, a green oasis, but also needs a little improvement. Spinelli Park is new. We were impressed by some of the garden rooms, the halls were well integrated, the plant bands were beautiful, but otherwise the large, open spaces seemed rather desolate. There would have been more. A cable car, which will be rebuilt after the end of the BUGA, connects both areas. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't really great either. Actually 3.5 stars. Eigentlich 3,5 Sterne.

(Translated by Google) This was my third time on the Buga (season ticket) and my conclusion so far is mixed: Nice, but there could have been more. The cable car is great - and even with long queues things move very quickly. There are great exhibitions and events and worthwhile new play opportunities for children on the Spinelli grounds. But: too little shade on the Spinelli site, too much fallow land, too much not yet finished. And sometimes completely exorbitant gastro prices: €10.50 for a currywurst with fries, to name just one example.

(Translated by Google) Pure disappointment!!! 28€ entrance fee The Luisenpark is really beautiful and well laid out You can then take the cable car to the Spinelli site, which is free But that's the only thing. Everything else costs extra and is very expensive. And only cash is always accepted. Card payments are not possible everywhere. Completely incomprehensible! The Spinelli area is very spacious. Far too big and you get the feeling that they haven't finished the work yet. Just disappointing. You then have to queue back in a queue that is several hundred meters long. Pure chaos. Chaos pur. Fazit: absolut nicht zu empfehlen

(Translated by Google) We parked in the Maimarkt parking lot and paid €6 for the day ticket. The shuttle service worked well and the buses there and back were pretty empty. The Spinelli grounds made a very unfinished impression to me, there were a few nice flowers to admire in the halls and there were also some very beautiful specimens in the model gardens. We also had no waiting times for the cable car on a Saturday morning. Unfortunately the plant show house is not finished yet and the service in the Chinese tea house was not great, there was a very, very long wait before we could even order. My conclusion: there have been better federal garden shows and even state garden shows.

Observatory
Historical landmark
The Alte Sternwarte Mannheim is a historical site that offers a breathtaking panoramic view from its rooftop. It also houses several lectures on different floors, which provide valuable insights into the significance of this observatory. The artist gallery located within one of its levels is definitely worth exploring. Be prepared to climb some stairs akin to those found in a church tower. A first-time visit to this remarkable observatory will undeniably leave visitors impressed with its beauty and appeal.
Visiting for the first time. I was impressed 👌

From 1905 to 1906, restoration was carried out here. During the Second World War, the building was badly damaged and again needed repairs. In 1957, they decided to restore the building as a studio house. Many famous and not so famous artists worked here. (Translated by Google) Historic place with nice views from the roof. There were also a few lectures on the individual floors that gave a good impression of the importance of the observatory. The artist gallery on one floor is also worth seeing. There are a few steps to climb, kind of like climbing a church tower.
