Winery
Heritage preservation
Achaia Clauss is a historic winery founded in 1861, offering guided tours of its vineyard and the opportunity to taste their renowned red Mavrodaphne dessert wine. The winery, also known as the Winecastle of Achaia Clauss, is the first Greek winery and continues to produce exceptional wines. Visitors can explore the Municipal Library nearby, housing an extensive collection of books, magazines, historical documents, and a photographic archive.
Where to begin with this review, because this was just amazing! We had the last tour of the day and we only were with us four. So we had a private tour. The tour itself is amazing. The guide was really enthousiastic and energetic. The whole story about achaia clauss is told and a lot of rooms are shown. Some rooms contains special reserves for special people such as kings. Meanwhile you walk through the beatiful castle enjoying all the awesome views. To end the tour we had a very good wine tasting. All the wines tasted really good and we even bought some. If you like wine or want a good tour trough a castle, this is the place to be! Could not recommend it more! If we are on holiday here again, we would definitely come here again. One minor improvement: The website was a bit difficult to understand if you are not greek, also buying tickets is difficult if you are not a greek.

We arrived without reservation, but were able to book a tour anyway! The sight of the winery itself is already amazing, but the tour was the perfect finishing touch! A lovely tourguide guided us around speaking great English, and the tasting of 4 wines was amazing as well. The cellars with the kegs of wine was impressive and the smell inside delicious! I can definitely recommend this!

We are a traveling family with over than 130 million views on social media @manalbwehbeh One of the best tours ever Very nice Tasty and interesting Tasting 4 glasses Cost 18 or for each Kids frearound 30 minutes tour and then 30 minutes tasting Very nice people Don’t come to Patras without coming here!

We had the full tour in the winery, stuff was super friendly ready to answer any question and the wines that we tried were amazing! It is truly worth the visit!
Jella R — Google review
My husband and I went there on a weekday and were pleasantly surprised by what this vineyard had to offer. You can take a free walk on the grounds of the property which is very scenic and beautiful or you can opt in for one of their guided tours that showcase the wine making process from 1861 until now and also offer wine tasting of 4-8 varieties depending on what package you choose. They have a very friendly staff that will serve you and also take some of those great photos. Overall a fantastic experience for scenery, tasting and learning the local history. I would recommend calling to reserve a guided tour before going. They speak Greek and English and it’s easy to follow.
Georgia M — Google review
Wonderful place to visit, taste and buy some of the best Greek wines. The tour guide, was given by a knowledgeable young lady who explained the history of the winery, the process of barrel making and the celars. Definitely worth the visit!
Aspassia A — Google review
I dare to say that no trip to Patra in Greece is complete without a visit to Achaia Clauss Vineyard and Castle. The Vineyard surroundings and the Castle are majestic overlooking Patra and the sea. I suggest you make an appointment for both a tour of the cellars, and on the way down to the imperial cellar you will get a glimpse on the history of their cooperage. The imperial cellar has carved barrels back from the start with over a century old mavrodaphne wine. If you are lucky the wine tasting will take place in the Belle view cellar where you can see all their bottled wines, if not you will have a fantastic view of it from the floor of the bar and you can enjoy the view from the balcony. Fantastic wine and great staff, so don't miss it!
Rick J — Google review
Was like we was in a fairy tale walking through the big wooden doors and beautiful estate. The lady who gave us a tour knew the history very well. The history is very rich and the museum with the wine barrels is amazing the smell of the old wine is addictive.

History Museums
The Archaeological Museum of Patras is a must-visit landmark on the highway to Athens. Its innovative architectural design and spacious layout offer a unique experience for visitors. The museum's vast collection, displayed in three themed galleries, showcases regional artifacts from prehistoric to Roman times. From statuary and weapons to jewelry and mosaics, the exhibits provide insight into ancient Patras' private life, public life, and cemeteries.
Great museum, maybe equally rich as the Archeological museum in Athens, but much more interesting for sightseeing, because there's not even 10% of visitors compared to Athen's museum, so you can really enjoy it. It covers different periods through millennia, you can see wonderful mosaics, vases, coins, helmets and even skeletons. If you're on summer vacation, don't forget that Greece is not only the sea and beach, but also much more than that. Recommendation - must see it!
Una Č — Google review
We went the first Sunday of the month so the entry was free. The museum was lovely and I was very impressed with the collection of artifacts that it has. My personal favourite was the glass section as it was so colourful and mesmerising, but it has plenty of impressive things. In general the place is very pretty and has a beautiful olive tree as you walk towards the entrance that really adds to the atmosphere.
Sophia F — Google review
Wonderful collection, wonderfully presented. With items from the Neolithic, the Mycenean, the Geometric, the Archaic, the Classical, the Hellenistic, and the Roman period, all portrayed in excellent displays that do their best to reconstruct the original setting of the exhibits, this museum offers a comprehensive as well as a pleasant journey into the past. Spacious, bright, and modern, this museum offers a fully enjoyable experience. Its spacious corridors enable the visitor to see it through within an hour, while it also allows comfortable space for those who wish to study the findings longer.
George S — Google review
Unbelievable treasures await at this beautiful museum. I had no idea Patras' history was this rich. Many intact antiquities are housed in a beautiful modern museum with a cute cafe and a small eclectic shop. You can appreciate the collections from closer than most museums because of the incredible way they have arranged and displayed them. Lots of parking and close to the main port. I think it's a must-see!
Elaine V — Google review
I spent about 1.5 hour at this museum. I think you should definitely visit here if you are new to Patra. I am glad to see that evey sign has English translation which is very considerate of them. The ticket is 10 euro but I later learn you can get a student price too. I which there's something more to see at the second floor. Would be perfect if they have English tour or interactive kiosk screen. You can also perchance some their merch near entrance.
Korawich K — Google review
Excellent museum with a small but great collection of various ancient artefacts! The mosaics in particular are fantastic and some of the best I’ve seen- many about 1500 to 2000 years old. Also the collection of sculptures and glass artefacts is amazing. Allow 1 - 1.5 hours to see this at leisure.
Pradhyot S — Google review
A neat and modern museum not to be missed. You can admire mosaics dating back to the Greco-Roman period and modern art.
Cinzia R — Google review
Great museum. Thoughtfully curated and laid out in a themed way rather than a strict chronological way which l felt was a great idea and made for a better understanding of the exhibits. Lovely building design. Good toilet facilities and lots of parking. It is a direct turning off of a busy dual carriageway so exiting was tricky, you need to wait for the lights to change further back up the road yo give you a clear road. Well worth the 10 euro each to visit and parking free.

The Roman Odeon in Patras is an ancient amphitheater that has a rich history dating back to the 1st century AD. It was initially built during the rule of Emperor Augustus and was connected to the Patras Roman Forum. Despite facing destruction from earthquakes, wars, and invasions, it has been restored and partially reconstructed. With its capacity of approximately 2,500 spectators, it now serves as the main venue for the International Festival of Patras during the summer months.
A beautiful little Roman amphitheatre that is smack in the middle of Patras. Surrounded by parks, cafes and other assorted shops, it is worth popping in to see. Entry is free.

Well preserved site.
Fahad A — Google review
If you love old architectural ruins which are reminiscent of the glorious past, then the Roman Odeon will be a treat to your eyes and to your soul. The Roman Odeon has essentially become a theatre and might we add, the most beautiful of them all. The whole structure is made up only with Wood, Marble, Rocks and bricks. No cement was used and it has a tingling natural aroma of the wood and marble. It is a pretty sight and leaves you with a sense of joy and ecstasy and thoughtfulness. Witnessing a play here is purely pristine and you would be able to get all the information that you need at the information kiosk. Visit the Castle of Patras nearby and have a complete experience of the architectural magnificence that this place has to offer.

It is free!!!!!!! Can you believe it?! Nestled atop one of the highest points in Patras, Patras Castle is a historical gem that dates back to the 6th century. This fortress, originally constructed under Byzantine Emperor Justinian, has withstood the test of time and offers visitors a fascinating glimpse into its storied past. While it may not be the most imposing castle you’ll encounter, its charm lies in its serene green spaces and breathtaking panoramic views over the city and Gulf of Patras.
Exciting visit, carnival, everything there, it's amazing! Don't know about public transportation, climbed hundreds of steps, but it's worth it! I mean it's amazing and beautiful! If God gives a good weather, maybe it will be even better!

Patras Lighthouse, originally located at Agios Nikolaos harbour until 1972, was rebuilt near the church of Agios Andreas in 1999. It offers a nostalgic grandeur overlooking the sea and provides pleasant service with attention to detail. Visitors can enjoy a walk or run in the area and may even encounter some relaxed cats by the seaside. The lighthouse provides a nice view of the sea and is a great spot to have coffee or snacks in its shade.
Great place for walk or run, if you visit Patras. Will encounter some lovely kitties who relax themselves at the seaside occasionally.

I am giving 5 stars due to exceptional location of this place as food and prices are not so good. -taste&quantity: I had pancakes, it was a very small portion and the taste was forgettable. Not really soft and fluffy. -price: 8,5€ for pancakes? Perhaps I paid for the view because for these pancakes I was not willing to pay even 3€ -service: staff was polite and I received my order quite fast, though the scoop of ice cream in my pancakes was different than the one I asked, but they offered to change it. -Atmosphere: the number one reason to visit this place as you are in the ground floor of a lighthouse and view is spectacular...you feel like floating on the water!

Great location, terrible food. Views from the restaurant/cafe carry this place, as does the big play area outside for kids but the food really let it down. Everything tasted reheated and looked like it had been sat around for a while. Probably won't go back for this reason

The Holy Church of Saint Andrew is a Byzantine-style basilica and pilgrimage site located in Patras, Greece. It features a gold-plated cross and 13 domes, as well as housing holy relics, including the head of Saint Andrew. The church is known for its impressive size and unique architectural elements, such as a wooden screen. Visitors are captivated by the beautiful mosaic art inside the church.
An amazing Greek Orthodox cathedral dedicated to St. Andrew, one of the 12 apostles of Jesus. Besides the awe-inspiring murals and mosaics decorating the interior, there are also relics of St. Andrew such as part of the top of his cranium and small portions of the cross on which he was crucified. There is a visitors center outside the church as well as restrooms and a gift shop.
Anthony D — Google review
Saint Andrew Church in Patras is definitely impressive in size—it’s the biggest church in Greece. The building looks grand from the outside, and the mosaics inside are nice. That said, it doesn’t feel particularly special or memorable, especially compared to some of the older, more historic churches in Greece. Still worth a quick visit if you’re in the area, but don’t expect to be blown away.
Evgeniya K — Google review
This is one of the most impressive cathedrals in the world. It is being build for over a century. Located next to the old St Andrews Church and the sacred cave where Saint Andrews use to live. The place of the church is the place of his martyrdom where the Romans crucified him on a saltire (X-shaped cross). The cathedral is home to the remains of the saint (see photo with the silver case in the shape of the church) and the remains of the cross (in the saltire casing). Visiting the place after 25 years was a pilgrimage.
Vassilis M — Google review
The Church of Saint Andrew in Patras is one of the most magnificent and spiritually uplifting places I have ever visited. As the largest Orthodox church in Greece, it impresses not only through its monumental architecture but also through the deep sense of peace that permeates every corner. The interior is breathtaking — a masterpiece of Byzantine-inspired design, adorned with splendid frescoes, marble columns, and intricate mosaics that narrate sacred stories in vivid color. The grand dome, depicting Christ Pantocrator, dominates the space and leaves visitors in awe. The golden chandeliers, icons, and marble iconostasis all contribute to an atmosphere that feels both majestic and profoundly sacred. Of particular note is the chapel containing the relics of Saint Andrew the Apostle — the patron saint of Patras and one of the first disciples of Christ. The ornate reliquary cross and the relics themselves are beautifully displayed, radiating a strong sense of reverence and historical continuity. Every detail of the church — from the carved icon stands to the illuminated murals — speaks of centuries of faith and devotion. Whether you come as a pilgrim or simply as a traveler interested in history and architecture, the Church of Saint Andrew offers a moving experience that transcends time and culture. Visiting this holy site is not just a cultural encounter, but a deeply spiritual journey — a place where art, history, and faith unite in perfect harmony. Truly, a must-see landmark in Greece and a profound tribute to the enduring legacy of Saint Andrew the Apostle.
SmartCityHub R — Google review
Such a beautiful church and apparently the biggest in Greece! No need to pay to come in. The history of it is just amazing: search it! It’s totally worth it
Kéké — Google review
The church is renowned as the largest Orthodox church in Greece, with some sources noting it as the third or fourth largest Byzantine-style church in the Balkans. It hosts a massive central dome soaring to 46 m in height, crowned by a 5 m gold-plated cross, with 12 smaller crosses above the bell towers symbolizing Christ and the Apostles Religious Greece Greek City Times The vast interior spans approximately 1,900 m² (with an additional 700 m² on the upper level) and can accommodate around 7,000 worshippers If you're drawn to monumental architecture, intricate Byzantine art, and the spiritual resonance of sacred relics, the Cathedral of Saint Andrew in Patras is absolutely worth visiting. It offers a serene, awe-inspiring experience-even if you're not religious. But if you're seeking the quaint charm or medieval atmosphere of ancient churches, consider pairing this visit with stops at Patras's older sacred sites.

Apollon Theatre is a historic venue in the city center, designed by renowned architect Ernst Ziller. It's a significant part of the city's identity and offers Greek plays and theatrical music performed by talented local artists. The theater has maintained its original decorations and style since its construction in 1872. Visitors can enjoy shows with great views and acoustics from any seat, without the need for microphones.
Apollon Theater is a beautiful neoclassical building, situated on the east side of King George's Square (Patra's main square). This remarkable building is the oldest lyric theater in Greece. It was designed by the German architect Ernst Ziller and errected at 1872. It is a true architectural gem, since it constitutes a replica of the La Scala in Milano. The materials chosen for its construction were some of the most expensive during that era, and were brought from far away (Italy and England). The building was renovated three times, with the latest being from 1969 to 1972 and it has a seating capacity of 450 people. Bottom line: beautiful site in "strategic location"!

Seen countless of plays here, ever since I was a kid. It's a real monument to the city, clearly a part of its identity, especially with how much people love the theater here. Built in 1872, the original decorations and style have been maintained. There is always staff to show you to your seats and the view and sound are great from any available seat without the need of microphones. It's very rare but not unheard of to have shows in english, but I encourage you to make a visit if you're in the area!

King George Ι Square in Patras, also known as Georgiou Square, is a historic and vibrant central square that dates back to 1829. It was established under the governance of Ioannis Kapodistrias and designed by Stamatis Voulgaris following the Greek War of Independence. The square has undergone several name changes before settling on King George Ι. Surrounded by charming cafes and restaurants, it serves as the focal point for many of Patras' major events.
One of the many things I love in European cities/ towns are squares like this. This particular square is so vibrant despite winter low season. It’s so great that there are so countless establishments near by and they!
Travelbug — Google review
Georgiou I Square was built under the Kapodistrias government as a part of the 1829 plans by Stamatis Voulgaris to rebuild the devastated centre of Patras after the Greek War of Independence. Unlike the old city, the new city was built according to a grid plan with several large squares. The square has been renamed several times: Dimokratias at first, then Kalamogdarti, Othonos, Kentriki, Thomopoulou, Ethniki, Palligenesias and since 1863 Georgiou I. In the square there are two fountains, constructed in Denmark.

This is "home base" when we are visiting Patra. The atmosphere is always bustling into the night and slowly awakens in the morning. We stay on rigo firego which over looks the square and has excellent shopping.

Patra's main square. Surrounded by cafess and restaurants. Many of Petra's major events take place here. Don't miss the two 2 beautiful fountains, on both sides of the square, and the spectacular building of Apollon Theater, a neoclassical building, that was built at 1872 ( the oldest lyric theater in Greece).

(Translated by Google) I was a customer that day and what happened follows me like a nightmare. Suddenly a tornado arose, the panic and terror were unexpected and immediate! Umbrellas and tables were flying around us, people were running and I felt like my life was passing before my eyes. The staff tried to help, but the lack of planning and guidance was obvious. This makes me feel even more unsafe. I really liked this cafe before, but now, every time I walk past, the images come back to life and I am overwhelmed with mental anguish and fear. I still see the scene as if in a movie, as if I am watching “your death”, and I cannot forget it. I do not recommend it until they show that they are taking serious security measures and there are clear instructions to protect customers. The Mycenaean Cemetery of Voudeni, located in the Skioessa neighborhood northeast of Patras, is a site with a rich history dating back 3,500 years. The area contains remnants of a settlement and cemetery that were in use from 1500-1000 BC. The cemetery covers 1.6 hectares and features around 75 tombs of various sizes and designs.
Very nice place to visit. Everything is well maintained and the garden is very beautiful. Ticket is cheap at only 3€ per person. Just bring some water with you, especially on hot days, because you will need it since the whole experience is like a big hike. The view is incredible also.

Excellent site. I spent three winters living in a Mycenaean burial chamber in Mikinis so it feels like home to me. This is a very good site and worth seeing. Many tombs
Jeremy K — Google review
If you are in Patra you can not miss this place. The cost of the ticket is 3 euros, watch out cause at 15.30 closes, like almost the most of Patra's historical places. The necropolis is pretty big, around 70 tombs, 2 of which are enormous. You can also have a small walk to reach the settlement on the next hill. The entire tour takes around 40 minutes. Here you will have also an amazing view of Patra, from the bridge to almost Kyllini. I suggest to combine the tour with the visit of the archeological museum, cause all the things found in the tombs are there. I want to point out also the incredible garden that surrounds the tombs, kept in perfect condition from the workers themselves. 5 stars

Well....it was closed. It would have been really helpful if the googlemps information had been updated to reflect this as driving across the Corinth bridge and back in our planned visit cost us 30 euros! There are other reasons to visit Patras, we went to the archeological museum, but had we known this site was closed we may have postponed until another visit....in effect for us thid was 50 Euros to visit one museum - the museum is fab BTW...incidentally l did know about the wildfire affe ting the site and had checked the website a few weeks ago to see if it was still open and at that point it was saying the site was still open but with reduced access due to some damage....ho hum...

Bar
Musical club
Bocas Bar is a popular spot in Patras, known for its great selection of wine, beer, and other alcoholic drinks. The bar offers a relaxed atmosphere where visitors can unwind with friends or family. The first-floor bar-restaurant features indoor and outdoor seating, with the outdoor area adorned by a large tree that blooms vibrant magenta flowers in the summer. This creates a charming ambiance and provides privacy during winter. Guests can enjoy well-crafted drinks accompanied by snacks.
Total vibe- the cocktails were really good but I would go back purely for bougainvillea that was growing right out of the building. Heavenly. They had some nice signature cocktails I had the Tijuana which was perfectly balanced. They also have classic cocktails I ordered a Negroni and it was equally amazing. Really good service too!
Meaghan C — Google review
We dropped by for some Negronis and the place did not disappoint. Drinks have been very good and the staff a pleasure to talk to. They also shared some restaurant recommendations out of which one turned out to be a gem. Great atmosphere and fair prices. Oh - almost forgot about the music. Great selection
Alina — Google review
A very nice bar-restaurant on the first floor of the building. They have seating both indoors and outdoors, with the outdoors area being dominated by a huge tree that hangs over the balcony. Its flowers bloom in the summer in a vibrant magenta that really sets the mood and brings the temperature down. In winter, it provides some privacy from passersby. The drinks are very well made and are accompanied by a snack. They have their own range of cocktails, inspired by celebrities, which contains some pretty imaginative elements. They also bring water before they take your order. Service is fast and can guide you through their menu according to your health restrictions.
Eleni V — Google review
Great place, enormous variety of liquors and beautiful atmosphere. The terrace is quite small so better visit Bocas during winter months.
Andreas A — Google review
Nice bar recommended by a local shop, but sadly we have found ourselves involved in an unacceptable situation never encounter before and we are experinece travelers - we asked for 3 shots of Patron silver tequila ( by the way a drink we are used to ) , just to realize that it was watered straight from the bottle - they did rectify opening a new bottle after we complained about it and waiter and supervisor tried it , thats fine !!! But we think it is a disgusted, revolting and deplorable way of treating travellers Please behave yourself, you are nothing without customers!
Perfecto N — Google review
Tasty and imaginative cocktails. There was not enough space at the outside area since the tables were very close to each other. The prices were reasonable and the staff was helpful and friendly. Also the bar was well decorated. Unfortunately, the waitress “forgot” to bring the receipt, which is quite unfortunate because is a practice that belongs to the old dark days of tax evasion in Greece and very few businesses endorse this tactic nowadays. I totally recommend this place to those who don’t know the meaning of the word “legality”.
Nick K — Google review
Visited after long time as a guest in a wedding party. I have found very positive things. The bar is really good with many choices in drinks and knowledgeable bartenders. Although it was crowded the service was quite good. Apart from drinks we were served with finger food which was good but not something really special. The atmosphere and the overall "vibe" is very pleasant and brings you in a good mood right away. The music was ok for my taste, but it may have been a bit different than usual due to the party. A strong point of Bocas is the veranda with the second bar. Even in the winter is fairly comfortable to get outside to relax a bit from the loud music and the crowd of the indoor hall. Overall an excellent choice for a night out in Patras.

Strongly recommended. We recieved a very warm welcome as the lady working there showed us around and explained us everything. There are a lot of experiments that aim at showcasing a certain aspect of science. The museum is free of charge. The only think that could be changed is its name as its rather a museum of the history of technology.

St. Nicholas Stairway in Patras is a historically significant outdoor staircase that connects the lower and upper citadel, offering stunning views of the city, sea, and sunsets. While the original natural stone stairs have been replaced with a more modern concrete version, the panoramic vistas from this spot are still breathtaking. It's a popular location for taking photos and enjoying the atmosphere, especially during summer nights when locals gather to socialize.
Despite the challenging climb up the stairs, the stunning panorama of Patras made it all worthwhile. It's a fantastic spot with an incredible view. I highly recommend arriving a bit before sunset to watch the sky transform with beautiful colors.

I tried the Prego cocktail (spicy, sour), version without cinnamon. First of all, I would like to point out that I make many cocktails and I am very picky about their tastes. This cocktail, served by charming and pleasant staff, is probably one of the best I have drunk in the last 10 years. The balance between sweet and bitter is perfect, the ginger balances out the sugar. I leave 5 stars even if I don't understand why the use of electronic cigarettes is authorized indoors.

Its inviting ambiance, combined with the friendly and helpful nature of its staff, adds to its impeccable reputation. Conveniently situated on a serene pedestrian street, the restaurant showcases an exquisite indoor and outdoor setting.
This is a first class Greek/Italian restaurant and, on our first night in Patras, was utterly wonderful. Full of atmosphere and a wonderful team of cooks and waiters/waitresses the food we had was amazing. A lot of attention to detail. Usually, in Greece, we have 0.5kg of local wine but this classy restaurant offers a huge selection of local/Greek wine. The Merlot we chose was amazing and as red wine drinkers at home, this was one of the best. The photos of the food, I hope, say it all! We were lucky to get a table so, the recommendation is to book ahead. Also, like some of the restaurants in Italy, you can see the chefs at work and get to thank them! The menu is full if pastas and steak!

This place is exceptional, from the friendly and attentive staff to the chefs creations. And they are creations. Really amazing takes on the classics that will leave you wanting more. We had the tomatoe melon and rocket salad elevated by honey and loca breadcrumbs. What a delight. The Greek salad was the version we all hope for but never get in the touristy restaurants. This was really well crafted food. It’s all fresh and quite the experience to see the chefs get the fresh meat from the dry agers which are a ladder away above the kitchen. The setting and is sublime, architectural features that stand out and make you feel comfortable and at easy. The bar is well stocked and the house wine list is excellent. The house wine as well. I have to say we didn’t stop when we should have ;)

What an exquisite place! The food was out of this world, and the wine too. Efficient yet unobtrusive service, and a lovely atmosphere. We were so lucky to get a table for an early evening hour or so, given that it was a Friday night and the place was - justifiably - fully booked. We will definitely book next time, rather than stumble in randomly!

We went here after reading a review in the Greeka blog. We were very impressed. The staff were excellent, the wines (recommended by the staff) matched the food beautifully and the food was great. The food is Italian influenced but we wouldn’t call it an Italian restaurant. We started with fish ceviche and beef carpaccio, which were both very good. This was followed by a mushroom pasta dish and pasta with a slow cooked beef cheek. Again both were excellent. The complementary house ice cream topped off a lovely evening.

They clearly don’t know how to cook meat at this place. The steaks were terrible. The oyster mushrooms served as a side were inedible. The dishes were brought out almost completely cold. It’s unclear how this place has such a high rating

An excellent meal, that was served remarkable quickly. The food both tasted excellent and was nicely presented. My only innervation was that as the evening progressed the music for progressively louder, and towards the end my elderly parents couldn't hear the conversation any longer. Perhaps that's the vibe of this place, but to me loud music is better suited to drinking venues.

As soon as we walked in the place, we were told to sit somewhere at the back in the dark shady area, even though there were plenty of free tables at the sunny front. We were given 5 different menus to choose from, food, cocktail, coffee, wines spirits,a lot... But no choice for a large beer, just small sized glasses. Service was slow and everything was much more expensive than the average.

Cocktail bar
Restaurant
Abbey, a renowned cocktail bar in Patras, is highly regarded for its exceptional drinks and excellent service. Although there have been occasional negative experiences, the overall satisfaction is profound. With Argyris as the talented bartender, patrons are guaranteed a good time. Considered one of the top establishments in town, Abbey surpasses expectations with its impressive cocktails that cannot be rivalled elsewhere. The bar is consistently packed with customers due to its popularity among locals.
Great place to hang out for drinks or dinner. Nice drinks nice dishes to share or not. Great people watching. Music is interesting but sometimes there’s an amazing female DJ playing awesome tunes

This place was a really lucky find. We were only in Patras for two nights and were walking to an Asian restaurant, but my 72 year old mother in law was struggling with the hills. This place had pretty lights shining and we thought it looked fine so decided to stop. It was so so good! Really relaxed space, super kind and and friendly waiter (Giannis), and amazing food. It's very European modern. Some really clever dishes and not what you'd expect from a little place on a quiet square. I had thinly sliced beef steak with a truffle mash. Every bite was delicious. My partner had chicken breast with chorizo and a sweet potato puree, and my mother in law had the mushroom and truffle gnocchi. 100% recommend the place!

A really nice bar-restaurant. The food is tasty even though there are somewhat limited options. Excellent drink and wine selection and great cocktails. Pretty pleasant atmosphere with good music.

A positive surprise! Every dish we had (Tuna Ceviche, Chicken Sando and Flat Iron steak) was an absolute 10/10. They would rival expensive restaurants in NY or London, let alone anything in Patra. Service was friendly, the atmosphere was bar-like, so keep in mind most people around you will probably only be drinking.

Too many people. The seats on the other side where the square is were really nice.

Cool Bar, nice cocktails and very good vibes and tunes. No traffic and town noise. Magnificent free space in front. Top.

Nice drinks, nice service. Had a few bad occasions there, but overall I am deeply satisfied. Especially when Argyris is behind the bar, your good time is guaranteed. It is considered as one of the best, if not the best, bar/bistro/cafe in Patras. As for the cocktails, I cannot find a better place in town. It is nearly always packed. Prices are fine. The decoration changes almost every two seasons. It is a must.

Jazz club
Bar
Notos Jazz Bar in Patras offers a warm and relaxed atmosphere, with fabulous service and divine decor. The bar features live performances by jazz bands like Flying Trio, Blues Cargo, and K. Stouraitis Jazz Trio. Despite its small size, the bar hosts swing dance parties where people of all ages can enjoy themselves. The drink menu is unique, offering cocktails like tiramisu shots and innovative concoctions with orange-cinnamon vibes.
Highly recommend this cool jazz bar- glad we were able to patronize during a short visit to Patras.
Travelbug — Google review
Maybe the coolest bar in Patra. Watch out because from the outside it seems closed thnk to some shades. The drink menu is out of this world, you surely won't find cocktail like mojito here. We firstly had tiramisù shots and then 3 different cocktails, mine was hot with orangy-cinnamon vibes. The atmosphere is totally jazz with studied low lights, everything completed in a red background. Ps the staff was EXTRA FRIENDLY, something really innovative for Patra

Last visited couple of days ago, during a carnival party. The atmosphere is extraordinary, the selection of music is always great as well as the quality of drinks. If you are at Patras, it’s worth it paying a visit!

A hidden gem in Patras! Nice little jazz bar, with great atmosphere and music. I haven't been during a live but I'd definitely try to catch one next time I visit.

If you're looking for a nice place to have a drink you should at least consider visiting Notos! Relaxed and cozy atmosphere, great place, great cocktails and great music. The stuff is also quite polite and attentive. Overall, one of my personal favourites in Patra. I would definitely recommend visiting it!
Chris K — Google review
From a cozy jazz atmosphere to a swing dance fiesta, this place is ideal. A petite jazz bar in Patras, where you can find people of all ages dancing and having great time together. From time to time great live performances are getting hosted there. Due to the limited area though it might get a little bit too crowded sometimes especially on Friday and Saturday. I would recommend this place if you are in the swingy jazzy mood especially if it is a weekday !

Park
Notio Parko Patras, also known as Patras South Park, is a spacious and family-friendly area located along the beachfront in western Greece. This park offers a perfect setting for picnics and bird watching, with its wide open spaces and beautiful views of the sea. The city of Patras has a rich history dating back to ancient times, blending its classical past with modern vibrancy.
Patras, situated in western Greece, holds a captivating history. It traces its origins to ancient times, being an important city-state in classical Greece. Throughout its existence, it experienced Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman rule. Patras played a pivotal role in the Greek War of Independence, and its port facilitated trade and cultural exchanges. Today, it thrives as a vibrant city with architectural gems like the Roman Odeon, blending its rich past with modern vitality. I am the ferry, swift and strong, Navigating waves, where I belong, Through azure waters, I swiftly glide, To Patras, a city where histories reside. From distant shores, I approach with glee, To witness Patras, in all its glory, Ancient tales whisper on every breeze, As I dock at its port, with gentle ease. The Roman Odeon stands proud and grand, A testament to a storied land, Walls that echo tales of days gone by, Where voices of the past still sigh. In Patras, vibrant energy flows, Its streets alive with the dreams it shows, Cafés and markets, bustling and alive, Where cultures converge, passions thrive. Oh, Patras, city of timeless grace, With secrets hidden in each embrace, I, the ferry, am honored to be, A witness to your grand history. Through sunsets and dawns, I continue my way, Carrying stories that will never sway, Patras, a jewel on Greece's shore, Forever in my heart, I'll adore.
Divertimento — Google review
Best calisthenics park in Greece. Not too many people and the bars have a really good grip 💪 Would definitely recommend it
Alex — Google review
The park is dirty, in disarray and the playground equipment is unfortunately abused, although it has some life in it yet. There are unfortunately too many unsavory characters like addicts and gypsies that disrupt the walk of the citizens, there is no police presence, and although it started well it goes south quickly especially now in the pandemic as thousands of people frequent it, it should be maintained much more almost daily. The park has gym equipment, a playground, pebble paths and some benches and picnic tables.
Nasos L — Google review
I hope one day the seaside area of Patras to be an endless park where everyone can enjoy the sea! South Patra is ideal for everyone either you have kids or not...always a walk in South Park will help you clear your mind and see the bright side of life!
Konstantinos T — Google review
An ideal place to walk, exercise or just sit and chat with your friends! It has paths through trees and along the seashore, play ground for kids, an outdoor gym and a big area with grass. I 'd give a 5 star rating, but the odor of rot near the sea is repelling. There is also a black color on the rocks, so this is not something temporary.. Fix that, ASAP!
Panos R — Google review
If you think you don’t like sunsets, you should come here and humble yourself, so gorgeous.
Angglikos — Google review
