Juan Mari restaurant is highly praised for its exceptional food, receiving a perfect rating of 5 out of 5. The quality and taste of the dishes, including the complimentary appetizer, are widely appreciated by customers. One particular highlight mentioned is the Arroz con solomillo y tomillo, which is a favorite paella option. The service provided by the staff is rated at 4 out of 5, with an overall positive impression.
Lovely place! Professional service, aware and quick. We had a lovely three course meal, the main courses were the main attraction. Beef tenderloin and Iberico Special were lovely meals, the starters are also great. Great selection of wines for the prices. Would definitely recommend and come again.

“…wild red shrimp, sea bass black rice… it was just sensational…” Lobster salpicón and warm artichokes completed a perfect lunch. This home owned restaurant is serving delicious food in this region. Friendly people cooking right. Nice wine list.

Best restaurant we’ve tried in the area. Delicious, fresh and well-cooked food at an affordable price with lovely service and setting. You can tell that they put a lot of effort into the cuisines.

🍽️Food: 5/5 🤵🏽‍♂️Service: 4/5 🪑Ambiance: 4/5 📝Notes: This restaurant is perfect for date night. I love the food so much! Everything I had, including the complimentary appetizer was amazing 🥰 My favorite paella was the Arroz con solomillo y tomillo. The staff were overall nice, but I did feel a sense of discomfort, maybe because we are typically a younger group that dined here. I’m not so sure, but nonetheless I had a great time and would for sure come back if I pass by town :)

Traditional Spanish food with lots of fish dishes. Friendly staff and superb food.
Henrik B — Google review
Fantastic little restaurant that delivers extremely well made dishes with clean yet intense taste profiles. The tasting set for 60 euro is well worth the money and the staff is very friendly and accomodating. If you are a foodie this is well worth the trip to experience.
James L — Google review
Bad service, they don’t now what good service is, super slow had to ask for drinks several times. Beef was undercooked, took it back. They sliced the same sirloin in three, cooked it again and it was overcooked. Had to send it back again and then they were empty for beef.

Beach Villananitos is an urban beach with a boardwalk and plenty of dining options. Visitors can enjoy the gray, thin sand and calm sea while taking a stroll or bike ride in the area. The beach also offers unique experiences such as rubbing mud from the sea and observing flamingos. While some visitors have noted challenges with parking and seaweed in the water, others have praised the clear waters and enjoyable amenities like beachside chiringuitos serving cold drinks and delicious food.
Absolutely great beach and lovely clear waters. We also vosited the mud baths at the other side of the pier. Nice experience and we will be back soon. Lots of beach chiringuitos with cold drinks and nice food

A quiet, family-friendly beach with calm, shallow waters — ideal for a relaxed swim or just soaking up the sun. Playa de los Villa Nanitos has a peaceful, local feel and is usually less crowded than other nearby spots. While the beach itself is simple, shops and restaurants are just a short walk away on the adjacent road, making it easy to grab a bite or cool drink. A great choice for a laid-back beach day.
Ajai A — Google review
Stunning beach with bars and restaurants. Lovely atmosphere and very relaxed vibe. Beautiful sand and lots of room to enjoy!
Craig M — Google review
A very very long straight stretch of beach, prom, restaurants and shops which is packed with locals and visitors at a weekend. As you walk along the prom you realise just how long it is and you have to walk back or get a taxi. Restaurants and shops shut on a Monday??? and don't open until 1 pm some days so check before you set off.

Bar El Castillo is a hidden gem in San Pedro del Pinatar, where quality meets affordability. This charming spot offers an inviting atmosphere, perfect for enjoying delicious tapas alongside fresh fish and meat dishes. The terrace provides a stunning setting for al fresco dining, while the cozy barrels inside create a warm ambiance during winter months. Patrons rave about the exceptional service provided by friendly staff, making every visit memorable.
Extremely warm welcome by pleasant efficient staff. Excellent food, all fresh and varied. All round winner

(Translated by Google) One of my favorite places in the area, (I will post photos, although you don't see much of the place, nor do I have the dishes, but something will be appreciated) if you are looking for quality and good service in a place with history in San Pedro del Pinatar, this is your bar without a doubt. The tapas and dishes of ten, as well as the service, all the waiters are professional and pleasant, one of them (Raúl) highlighting that the times we have gone, he has served us and treated us luxuriously. I wouldn't know what to recommend because everything is delicious, but as a good starter and something different, order the scallop coulan, a spectacle. The bar is small, with few tables inside, although we prefer to stay in some barrels next to the bar and the kitchen where we feel very comfortable. But if we must highlight where to sit, it is on its terrace, large and super beautifully decorated with plants and lights, next to the mythical "Castle" (palace of the Baron of Benifayó, or palace of the counts Villar de Felices, also the name of the park that precedes it). In short, a must-see place, and if you are lucky enough to have a live concert on its terrace, it is the finishing touch.

Amigos Sports Bar in San Pedro del Pinatar is the perfect spot for sports enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. With a welcoming atmosphere created by the friendly owners, this bar offers an impressive array of screens showcasing various sports events like football, rugby, golf, and tennis. Guests can enjoy both indoor and outdoor seating that accommodates up to 100 people comfortably.
Was recommended by a friend to come here for their Fish & Chips which is only served on Fridays. Came back twice and ordered two plates of it cos that's how good it was. Also serves one of the best pints of Guinness! Generous portion and have a wide selection of delicious food too. Highly recommended for anyone who are (especially) looking to fulfill cravings for fish & chips 🙌

Great meal at Amigo’s after watching live football at Pinatar Arena. Full English was excellent, Sandwich too, Tuna Salad was massive. All very good.
Paul A — Google review
I came here with my sons for a few drinks whilst staying for a long weekend to watch some football. We found the landlord and his wife a really friendly couple who made a bee line to talk to us and feel welcome. The sports on offer was great, golf, rugby, football, tennis, all on separate screens. There’s indoor and outdoor seating which can easily accommodate 100 people. Whilst we didn’t eat, the food looked and smelt lovely, especially the Sunday dinner (which I wished we’d had!!) I’d definitely recommend it for a warm and friendly atmosphere, great selection of drinks and delicious food.

On thursday we stopped by to have a drink. It was an okay experience, but doesn’t felt staff wanted to help us, but still we got our order. We saw an advertisment about breakfast on saturday. So we went today again. Me and my mate said hello to them when we walked in. The staff was again not pleasing. We sat down and waited for like 20-30 minutes. Nobody wanted to serve us. When a british family came in like 5 minutes later. They got helped nicely and very fast. The staff walked by around our table a couple times, they just Ignored us. Such a shame and awful experience. Also I felt discriminated! Wont recommend people to visit this. There are other nice bars with friendly staff.

Yo, let me drop a review, keep it short but tight, Amigos in San Pedro got the vibes just right. But the real MVP, gotta mention her name, Olivia the waitress, she the star of the game. Drinks on point, man, the flavors hit strong, Cocktails so perfect you can’t go wrong. Mojitos, margaritas, or a classic with ice, Every sip smooth, every taste real nice. Service with a smile, energy on high, She light up the bar like the sun in the sky. Fast on the floor, never missin’ a beat, Friendly and chill, man, the service elite. So if you roll through town and you wanna feel right, Hit Amigos, best spot for the night. Olivia got the crown, that’s the truth I’m spillin’, This bar ain’t good—nah, this bar is killin’. Want me to make a few different versions (one short & punchy, one more detailed & rhymed) so you can actually paste them as Google reviews depending on the vibe you want?

Love love love this little hidden gem. My family and I are regular visitors here and we always get the pancakes with Oreo sauce and a cappuccino.......they never fail to deliver on presentation, flavour or taste!

Not a great experience. When we arrived nobody greeted us or came over with menus for a while. Once we had menus we made our choices to be told by the waiter that the ovens weren't working and nearly everything we wanted to order we couldn't. We chose burgers instead. When they arrived they were the saddest looking burgers I had ever seen. Literally a thin burger with a lettuce leaf on top and then the burger bun. They were all cold. I was disgusted. Told my children not to eat them and called over the waiter. He said the lettuce had made the burgers cold!!!!! Really I don't think so. I asked him to take them back and to get new ones. He returned a short time later with the exact same burgers but warmer. I couldn't believe it. Told my children not to eat them. My husband had ordered an English breakfast which had arrived slightly warm, he said it was OK. So we asked for the bill. They had charged us for all three burgers. I refused to pay for them as they were awful and we hadn't eaten them. They were not overly apologetic, and took them off the bill. I have never had this experience anywhere else before and was very upset about the whole situation. They should of told us when giving out the menu that only certain things were available, and then should only bring out hot food.

This was our first time but we will definitely be back. Great family atmosphere; service was excellent; food was delicious; we had pizza, a sandwich and finished with a crepe and icecream. Reasonably priced for great quality! Only negative was sitting outside beside smokers :( I appreciate it’s the reality of outdoor dining but it did detract slightly.

Best pizza ever! Seriously. We had a half n half with an extra topping all over. Ladies, so we weren't looking for a massive, choke a hippo size pizza. What we got was perfect in every way: nice manageable portions, perfect thin crust, delicious toppings. And OMG the toppings for the waffles. Going back there tonight to try the burgers and a different dessert. Lovely staff. Great value. Highly recommended.

The initial visit to Museo Palacio Barón de Benifayó o Casa de la Rusa was thoroughly enjoyable. The cuisine was expertly prepared and the live music added to the overall experience. However, despite these positive aspects, there were some drawbacks that prevented a higher rating. The price for a meal for two felt exorbitant given the quantity and quality of the food and drinks provided. Additionally, the service left much to be desired.

Molino Quintin is a significant landmark in the resort town of San Pedro del Pinatar. Unlike traditional mills, this unique structure was originally used for grinding salt and distilling water from the Mar Menor into containers for salt evaporation. It stands as a symbol of the area's historical ties to salt production and offers visitors a glimpse into this fascinating aspect of local industry.
Windmill is behind a fence but great location. Mud baths are here.

The windmill is derelict and fenced off. Seems a shame that it isn’t made more of. There are lovely walks and cycling paths nearby together with cafes. The salt water attracts flamingos and other birds. Nearby they also bathe in the water and cover themselves in the mud which is supposed to be good for the skin.

Las Charcas is a unique destination where visitors can enjoy a communal and purifying experience by covering themselves in mud from the salt beds. Despite the eggy sulfur smell and slimy texture, many find it to be an amazing and fun experience. After letting the mud dry on their skin, visitors can wash it off in the warm waters of Mar Menor, known for its high salt content that allows for effortless floating.
When you get over the eggy sulphur smell and feel of slimy mud under your feet, it’s an amazing experience we thoroughly enjoyed it. Get wet, mud up then walk around for a while the mud dries on you. Go back in, then clean off (an old sponge helps) then you can go over to the other side of the wide walkway into the Mar Menor to have a lovely swim. Very salty so you float! All for free.
Andy T — Google review
Las Charcas Mud Bath – 4 Stars (But Hold Your Nose!) If you’re up for a wild, stinky adventure, Las Charcas is absolutely worth a visit—just don’t expect a spa-like scent. The mud baths are disgustingly pungent (think rotten eggs meets swamp monster), and the smell definitely lingers longer than you’d like. Still, the overall experience was a blast, especially with my partner. We couldn’t stop laughing as we slathered ourselves in thick, grey gunk and watched each other morph into swamp creatures. There’s a quirky, earthy charm to it all, especially with the backdrop of elegant flamingos pecking away at the tiny creepy crawlies that wriggle around the area—nature doing its thing up close and personal. Just don’t look too hard at what might be moving near your feet… All in all, it’s fun, weird, and memorable. Four stars for the unique bonding experience—just maybe bring a clothespin for your nose.
Robert P — Google review
Wow, so picturesque and lovely calm, warm water. The mud area to bathe in and cover your skin was great fun and it certainly seemed to make our skin smoother! You can lay back and float comfortably, the salt content is that high, hence picture of pink salt beds that is harvested, just behind where we were bathing. A few more visits and maybe I'd be looking 10 years younger!! 👴 Lovely area with plenty of places to eat or just drink and chill. I love the relaxed pace of life they have there and Spain in general! Definitely worth a visit. 😎
Adam S — Google review
A must place to visit and enjoy, people watching as they bathe in the mud allowing it to dry and bake on their skin before wading it off in the natural salt lake . The flamingos are spectacular and the scenery is beautiful. Easy to find and easier to find your way home .
David B — Google review
Really lovely place, and amazing that it's free! Easy to find. Highly recommended
Sam G — Google review
Random thing to do and it does not cost anything. You collect mud from the lake thing and then cover yourself in it. It is meant to be good for your skin. Pretty funny to be honest and worth a visit. We went out of season, so I would not know how busy it would be in season.
Stephen B — Google review
For Free, you can grab some mud, slap it on yourself and wait till it's dry then walk into the salty sea for all the minerals. I didn't do it myself but loads of other people did and it looked like they were enjoying themselves! Also it's no#1 thing to do on trip adviser for the area.
Chris J — Google review
You'd pay a small fortune for this in a posh spa. You just rock up with a bucket and help yourself to mud.

Called in early evening. Picked a table - ordering was simple. Fantastic beach side location Dishes were good sized. Plenty of options for meat eaters but lacking on vegetarian options other than carb based dishes. Toilets are less than hygienic - would have rated a higher score but it was stomach churning. We ordered - jug sangria - 2 soft drinks - 3 tapas dishes - 1 salad - 1 wrap - 1 pita Price €62.

The food here is usually good but unfortunately always in the back of my mind is the state of the toilets. Have probably eaten here 6 times in the past year but any time we have visited they are in worse condition than the last. It appears I'm not the only person to point this out in a review and still nothing is done. Last time was the worst - only one ladies toilet out of three was open, there was no toilet paper or soap and I can't even begin to describe the state of the walls, sinks, floors, toilet seats.... they were absolutely revolting and I don't know how health & safety haven't been called in. I've brought this to the attention of staff a few times but none of them seem to care. Staff don't appear to stay long either so service is hit & miss. Most staff have been great but lately there's definitely an attitude problem from some of the new ones. It's a pity as this place could be top notch.

Kieran H — Google review
It's pleasant enough if you just want drinks and nice view of the beach but don't bother with the food, there's much nicer places to eat for a similar price. Ordered pitta bread sandwich and a chicken wrap. The chicken was a weird grey colour and didn't taste of anything. Decided to just eat the fries and not bother with the actual sandwich or wrap. Service from the staff was polite and prompt. Would return but not for food only drinks.

David B — Google review
Service far below the level we expected from this business, rented 2 electric bicycles, 1 tricycle for the children to place in the front, 1 regular bicycle. At the 3 wheeler we had the misfortune that we had a flat tire, after a few telephones we were told that they only rent bicycles, but did not provide any service or came to pick them up. A normal bicycle would have worked for us without any problems, but a 3 wheeler is another problem. We still had 10 km to go, desperately trying to wear it in turns, but we soon realized that this would take hours, finally someone was so helpful to remove the outer tire which made things a bit smoother The problems started when we brought in, first it was 25 euros from the deposit, then 45 at the end 100 euros and the police had already been called (we had paid 300 deposits). This could have been solved so simply by understanding if you rent bicycles on Sundays, you also have to provide service on Sundays. We will NEVER rent a bike here again, but we still have a lot of admiration for the girl who is in the business, she does this excellently and very friendly.

Bodies of Water
The mud baths at this destination are a popular attraction, drawing many visitors seeking health benefits from being covered in mud. People have reported surprisingly smooth skin after the experience, despite initial skepticism. The water's surface may be cold, but the bottom is warm and offers a unique sensation. While there is a slight smell, the results make it worthwhile. Visitors can enjoy beautiful walks and scenery in the area, with plenty of dining options and opportunities to observe wildlife like pink flamingos.
They say there are only two natural places like this in the world — here and one in Israel, which makes the experience even more special. Entrance is free, which is a big plus! Parking right next to the site can be tricky, but you can usually find a spot within a 10-minute walk from the main road. The air has a slight smell due to the surroundings, but the mud itself doesn’t have an unpleasant odor. There are several piers that provide access to the lagoon, a lot of space for everyone. The piers are often muddy, so keep that in mind if you’re planning to put your belongings down — they may get dirty. Bring a small bowl or container to collect the mud — or someone might lend you one. You’ll usually find plenty of mud just under the piers. Apply it to your skin while on land, let it dry for about 20 minutes, and then rinse it off in the lagoon. The water is shallow and pleasantly warm, and the bottom is surprisingly hot in places. There are a few benches around the area — some are located right next to the piers, which is convenient for resting or keeping your things off the ground (and away from the mud). Right across from the lagoon, you can refresh yourself in the sea — without the mud this time! The sea is also shallow and warm.
Petr W — Google review
Fun to do it once. Purely for tourists, locals do not go here :) Collecting the mud from the bottom is a bit tricky, you would need 2 small buckets, one for digging underwater, one for collecting. Water is really hot in places, so watch out :)

Imagine yourself covered in the wonderful mud spa, for free. Even young people enjoy this experience as it feels so good. The smell might be a bit funky, but just think of your future beauty. No worries because this mud spa is all natural and worth a try. After it, you will feel like a brand-new person.

This place is so much fun, take a bucket and collect the mud from around the platform where it is thickest. Slap on the mud all over and wait for it to dry. Take a dip Is the shallow knee deep lagoon to wash of the mud leaving your skin feeling soooo soft. A flannel is good to take to help get the mud off afterwards.

An interesting experience, there are several piers here where you can get into the sea. There you take mud from the seabed and massage yourself. Then you let the mud dry on your skin and wash it off in the sea. Remember to take a bucket with you to collect the mud.

It looks beautiful, but when you smell it, it can be off putting. There were people already covered in the mud. Things you need to take, sea shoes (it's hot on the floor of the mud flats) a tub to crap the mud into and stand on the pier to put in on. I loved floating in the lagoon to wash of the mud. You need to give it a good scrub to get it off. We were talking to other Brits who were telling us that it helps with their eczema.

Ecological park
Nature preserve
Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro del Pinatar is a coastal reserve featuring salt flats, sand dunes, and salt lakes. This nature reserve is home to various species of plants and birds, including migratory flamingos. Visitors can also experience open-air mud therapy treatments using the clayey muds found in the salt ponds, known for their therapeutic properties in reducing rheumatism or arthritis effects.
On a glorious Mediterranean morning, what better place to come for a chilled out walk. There are plenty of places for coffee & cakes before you set off for a walk, which is approx 2 kilometres along the bar. The Mud Bath jetty's are on the left, and I'm told it's great for the skin, who knows. The flamingos are just getting on with their day-to-day business as for the stilts, egrets and sanderling, these are a little more skittish. There are toilets along the way, and it does tend to get a little breezy in the afternoon as the wind picks up. Highly recommend whilst in this area for all even the little one's. Enjoy.

Very pretty!! The flamingos are amazing to see and the wooden walkway through the dunes is perfect!!

Wild flamingoes right by the car park! Beach with lifeguards, not the clearest water or the cleanest beach with some smells from the meat by port but free parking and a nice time had!
David R — Google review
The pink salt lakes are extremely photogenic and the flamingoes just add to the experience. It's so calm and peaceful and delightful. The boardwalk to the beach enables access for all. The staff in the tourist information office are extremely helpful and friendly and to be commended. They made a very good experience into a fantastic experience.

Lovely nature reserve and park. Fantastic walk. Plenty of parking
Anthony B — Google review
Lovely morning watching the pink flamingos. The walk through the nature reserve can be really hot and humid but beautiful. The beach was full of seaweed this year, probably weather driven but didn't stop us going in the sea. Well worth a visit.

Lovely place to go for a walk. I didn't fancy the mud baths but if you do then there are lots of easy places to get in.

Museum
Located in the beautiful coastal city of Torrevieja on the Costa Blanca in Spain, Museo del Mar y de la Sal is a captivating ethnological museum that delves into the city's rich salt-harvesting history. Opened in 1995, this cultural institution near the harbor showcases an array of exhibits including old photographs, salt-made objects, model boats, archaeological artifacts, and fishing tools.
Small but interesting

Tiny but beautiful and detailed miniatures of ancient Torreviejas Salt Production. Ships etc. Free entrance! Worth a Visit

Very nice free museum touching on the history of Torrevieja and salt production. Lots of good information, highly recommend.

Nothing to write home about as it was small. However it was an informative museum in a very narrow scope. You can always do your own research to dig in further on the stories and facts presented. The museum is not a bad starting point
Gerardo O — Google review
Its not that big of a place but we were pleasantly surprised at how much they actually had going on in there. There's quite a few exhibits and as others have said, the models are pretty cool. It's free to enter, and there's no way to actually make a donation or anything so you don't feel obliged to give, and don't feel as though anyone is expecting you to give. There were two staff on when we went and they were friendly on welcome and exit and didn't bother us other than that. Its not life changing but I would recommend going if you're in the area.

Punta de las Algas is the final area of the vast La Llana beach, characterized by a mix of sandy shores and rocky formations where seaweed accumulates after easterly storms. This beautiful and relatively uncrowded spot can't be accessed by car, offering a serene escape even in peak summer. Situated within the protected natural area of San Pedro del Pinatar wetlands, this unique environment has unfortunately faced some degradation due to unauthorized dog walking and nudist activities.

Very nice place to take a walk and to observe the Flamingos that usually hang out around here. There are plenty of other wading birds as well, including Egrets that can be seen here. The area also has a free car park that is easy enough to get a space in outside of the busy tourist summer season.
