Where to eat: the 50 best restaurants in Elche

Fantastic experience from walking in to the impeccable service of Antonio. The food was superb. Started with the crusty house bread which was unforgettable. The lobster salad was amazing. The buñuelos de bacalao, rabbit albondigas and the manitas (trotters) were excellent. We had to finish with a traditional arroz con costra, the traditional Elche arroz. Not to mention the tinto de verano which was the best we ever had in my decades of visiting Spain.

Just managed to get a table in this amazing restaurant. Very typically Spanish food, very tasty. Very friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. This is an upper-class restaurant, you'll feel very underdressed if you don't make an effort. Would highly recommend this restaurant it's simply lovely. Would also recommend to book a table in advance.... And the octopus 🐙 is out of this world!

Superb dinning experience in Elche. A beautiful place, magnificent food, fresh, delicious. Seafood rice was flawless, full of flavours and delicacy. Amazing wine list, we went for Jumilla red and didn’t disappoint us. Great desserts.

It was good, but a bit disappointing. After reading and hearing all the good reviews we came here. The food was good, but almost every dish lacked salt and flavours. The only good thing was the apple tart, because they cook it at the moment. The prices are not corresponding to the food at all, it's overpriced.

The place opens at 12:30 pm but don't bother showing up at that time as soon as we walked in we were told by a bartender with the most unpleasant attitude we have experienced to leave and come back 30 min later because there were no tables available in a completely empty restaurant. Cannot rate the quality of the food as I was not given the opportunity to try it but the service is awful, very unfortunate.

Lovely food and drink with equally lovely staff, can't complain at all for the price....... Which I think is reasonable for the service and atmosphere on offer. Would definitely recommend for someone looking for a well cooked filling meal. I had the evolution burger cooked medium and it was exactly what I expected, tasty filling and well presented. My partner had the Krunchy roll which was a lovely chicken wrap with an assortment of salad. This also did not disappoint. Would definitely come back if we didn't live in the UK. Total bill came to just short of €40 which is definitely worth it for the food and drinks provided

My First time in this Restaurant. I can only say this was an amazing experience. Food was incredible good, I can recommend Crujientes de queso, was one the most delicious things I have ever eaten! Our waitress, Ines, was lovely. The place is really nice and clean, and the staff is super nice. We had Toblerone tarta as dessert, was delicious! I will be back ! Absolutely recommend visit in Elche!

In 2024 we had a very positive impression of this restaurant. However, today was very disappointing! In a city were tourism is the major income of restaurants, the waiters in this restaurant don’t speak any word English. Therefore miscommunication was the result, even with the help of Google translate. Serving staff was new, hardly no experience and are trained while customers are waiting. Staff doesn’t have any attention for the guests: wine in a cooler (that was the only thing the owner did besides having her diner next to us) and we need to fill our glasses by ourselves. I do realise: everybody needs to gain experience but please, don’t train when the restaurant is open! The food we ordered was good, not that delicious as we expected. Maybe that was influenced as well by the bad service. Unfortunately. Do I recommend Sinapi? Not at this moment with this staff and this service. Sorry!

Not the service you would expect from a 4* hotel restaurant. Even if you are a guest at the hotel walk in locals will get better attention. Strong perfume in staff might be overwhelming but would prefer that over other strong body odors as we experienced. Food mostly dull, not well cooked or seasoned. Sometimes not even corresponding to the description on the menu. Bad quality/price ratio. Disappointing experience.

We had several meals here whilst staying at the hotel. The food was always excellent but the service really could be improved a great deal. Staff seemed more interested in the computer than the customers, though all of them were pleasant and helpful. Some highlights - foie gras terrine, asparagus and goats cheese salad, hake with black garlic, abanda rice. Also try the Sein wine.

They had us wait 20 minutes before telling us essentially they had a table if we were staying at the hotel but no availability if we were not. It is understandable to have no tables but this could have been managed differently. Presumably they do other things better.

Marvellous very beautiful and intimate place with excellent food! We tried two different fish dishes and both were absolutely delicious and as the wine, inner/outside decoration wonderful! The hotel, swimming pool and palmtree garden are really amazing and all is really worth more than a visit! We had our car in the hotel's 2 levels' private parking, went to visit the main highlight next door, the garden Huerto del Cura, with all kind of palmtrees that had been already visited in 1894 by Sissie, the empress of Austria- Hungaria... I highly recommend more than a visit, a dream stay at the hotel that is really worth any seasonal price around 90€... the best place in the south and next to Alicante to visit and the best we experienced so far! In the same area, is the olive oil factory The Tendre from 1836!

Great restaurant! A bit expensive for Spain but very affordable if you're from Northern Europe :) the waiters are nice, food is very good and they have the menu in English and French!

The real deal! Very authentic Spanish restaurant serving terrific food. We visited as a family of four, with a toddler and baby - no children's menu but everyone was well catered for. Sergio, our host, was brilliant. Highly recommend.

Great location in the city center with a terrace that is right on the "Plaça de la Glorieta". Homemade pasta, good service. Pizza was also good and has extremely thin crust. It is very different but very good.

We did not like it. The pizzas were undercooked. We asked the waiter to put them back to the oven. After five minutes, they return them as they were at the first time. No difference. The original carbonara receipt is never with cream, but ok. The problem was the undercooked pasta. And I mean, really undercooked. The spaghetti arrabiata was quite good. And the desserts were mediocre. The pepperoni pizza was okish, so the croquettes. All in all, the food was average or below. The service was a bit disappointing, since the waiter was asking to give him all the dishes, even if we (the client) were eating or just talking. We spent quite some time returning him all the dishes, so he did not come close to take them. And he did not give us time enough to finish. Every time we were done with our meal, he wanted to have the plate back right away. Like it he was too in a hurry to wrap up. And he did not put too much effort, to be honest. The venue was fine. The price was ok but too expensive for the quality. I think, there are better choices than this restaurant. I hope this is taken as feedback to improve instead of a critic.

The food was really nice and it was cheap compared to the quality. The only issue I had was that we arrived at 13.30-14.00 and at that time they were still prepping. So we waited quite a while on our food. Prepping should have been done pre opening hours but maybe it was a fluke. I will definitely go there again

Not impressed, they took soo long to prepare the food. We waited almost 1 hour on the first order, 2nd and 3rd order was smaller and faster. Some of the salmon did not taste fresh, so not planing on trying this place again.

Friendly service, great coffee, food is decent and the terrace at the back faces the playground, ideal for kids! We stayed at the hotel across the street but didn't like the restaurant there so much, so we came here instead and although it looks a bit uninviting we were pleasantly surprised.

Very cross because there was no sign of a "menu del dia" and on a previous visit we were told there wasn't one. Probably the only place in Elche where you can watch live English football. They have two TVs inside and the staff very kindly turned one on for me so I could watch the Chelsea vs Everton game. Also a great place for a snack or even a full meal. The food is certainly tasty!

It's a KFC but in another country. Not much to report on this one. Only really go to fast food places in different countries to see what they have to offer in comparison to the UK. On this occasion Spain were offering their take on a stacker style burger, normal fillet with cheese sauce. Was alright to be fair although a little messy. One thing about this place I found was the speed of service was extremely SLOW, I felt like getting behind the counter and preparing the meal myself at one point. They go there in the end though.

Good KFC, but as always with fast food outlets in Spain, its best to go at the times the spanish eat, food comes out more often and is freshly cooked.

Been going here for years (hence original review I have now changed) and always good but last week (April 2023) Slow, poor service. We were given no fries and when I questioned the girl about it I was only given one lots of fries instead of 2 (2 are included with our meals). We also ordered the new spicy fries with bacon - but only received the original ones with BBQ sauce. Food was luke-warm and chicken in the bun was stodgy and lacking flavour. Usually a great experience but it will be a long time before we visit this one again. I have written a complaint and sent it in but had no response. UPDATE: as requested - sent another complaint. Finally received a response and apology and told have 1 free meal with fries. How??? No voucher attached or instructions! I responded and asked them how do I get my complimentary meal and still waiting for a response!! For such a large company their customer service is terrible.

TERRIBLE. Just the worst food I've had in Spain EVER! I sort of knew not to expect too much but wow, was I in for a shock.. 21€ ribs still cold inside, a burger full of cold blood, soggy burger bread and cold chips. After they repeated the ribs they were too dry to eat. The place otself was cold inside and not comfortable. The staff however were new and very polite. AVOID this low quality food at all costs. As we left at 10pm there was a queue, no doubt more dissapointed clients. In shock how bad it was!

This time, we had the latest Uttopía menu, which was absolutely amazing! So many new dishes and exciting flavors accompanied by an excellent cocktail/wine selection. We came in starving and left completely stuffed and happy. The staff are fantastic too, friendly, attentive, and super knowledgeable about every dish. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and well looked after. Definitely already looking forward to come back!

I tried the Toro Sandwich and i have tried better sandwiches/canapes at weddings. My most honest and sincere review "the place is just not worth it" Spend your money somewhere else. Looks expensive with all the small deco on the food but reality check is its not worth your money.

They even waited for us after work hours, we really appreciated that! We spent there close to 5 hours and with the wine, drinks, the menu, and after drinks, it was still only about 37e per person. Had the set menu for 2.with a bottle of red house wine...everything was delicious....a lovely restaurant....been going here a few years now and cannot find fault with food....my only complaint would have been that our waiter gave us menu.and almost a minute later asked us what we wanted ..we said we would look at menu.and he immediately snapped back drinks...drinks...he was very impatient...it was a little offputting...

We chose this restaurant from google reviews and found it to be even better than expected. The food and service was of a very high caliber and the chef visited us several times to ask if we were enjoying everything. We had a whole fish, perfectly cooked, deboned at the table and filleted. Rice in a red sauce with lobster was terrific. We also enjoyed many good appetizers. I can’t wait to return to Pilsen Restauracion!

After a trip of 30 minutes we arrived to see the restaurant closed, looking like they are reforming, or closed down. Not a word of this on their web page, neither on the phone answering machine, really bad!

The menus are a nice way to share a bit but enjoy your main dish for yourself. The portions of the starters are quite big, so if you're three people, I'd recommend two share one Menü where all mentioned starters will be served and the third person only orders a main dish and shares the starters with the other two. If that third person is still hungry after the main dish, of course, a desert can be ordered as well. The atmosphere is lovely, with French music and interior furniture commemorating the 1920s. Located a bit away from the main square, the atmosphere is calmer, especially if you're seated inside. Concerning our food: the starter of fried eggplant with soy sauce, honey and sesame was delicious - really recommendable. We didn't like the cheese fondu with bacon and tomato too much. Also the Cesar salad with croutons and the egg with bacon (and fries) were not our favourite but ok. The red tuna with algae and the porc solomillo had a good taste and were nicely prepared. The vegan burger tasted ok: I missed a bit of sauce and would have preferred a vegetable patty instead of tofu - it doesn't tell on the menu - but ok. Unfortunately, only the patty was hot, while bun and tomato were not. :-( The deserts, Oreo Cheesecake and chocolate brownie, made a good ending! In total, there are things to be improved, things we subjectively would do differently next time, but also things which we really liked. It's up to you: Try it!

We booked our table online. We found ourselves almost contiguous to a table of 20 people who were celebrating a wedding (which is completely legitimate) while the part of the restaurant in which we were was almost empty. Due to the enormous noise generated by the table next door, we had to cut our meal short (impossible to talk to each other). When we asked why this seating plan, we were told that the empty and set tables were planned for the next day!!! A fabulous location for lunch so close to the sea. My one gripe would be that the waiting staff showed us where to sit then they all avoided eye contact for quite some time. Fabulous fish restaurant, we arrived very late for lunch but the staff were excellent. Full menue choices and sat on afterwards overlooking the beach with no problem getting drinks as often as we wished.

Food is always fresh, and always busy. Definitely worth booking if you go on Sunday. Dinner on the seafront, what's not to love.

An amazing stop, definitely worth travelling to. We are vegetarian and we had the best meal for a while, when it comes to a Spanish restaurant. Brilliant fried artichokes and vegetable paella for two. Followed by, not to be missed, strong flavoured cheesecake for me, if you like it savoury and cheesy z almost goats cheese flavour, this is best, served warm. Local, recommended brioche with custard and ice cream also hit the spot. I would highly recommend stopping by. Great, friendly, attentive service and accommodated our needs, with our poor Spanish, waitresses English was enough for us to communicate. We will definitely be back.

I love this restaurant. We go every time we are in Elche. The food is superb, it has a really great mix of Chinese, Japanese and Korean cuisine. There is always a table available even on busy nights. It has its own car park which is useful if anyone knows the parking situation in Elche. The restaurant itself is really well done up too with a modern Asian feel. The employees are also really friendly too. Definitely recommend!!

Best pizza we have had in a long time. The risotto was amazing. Lovely atmosphere, excellent service. Definitely going to go back...very soon.

Food: desserts are not the strongest point. The rice with rabbit was quite decent. Calamares delicious and the rest is average or a bit more mediocre. The croquettes were not that great. Service: friendly and helpful staff. Atmosphere: try to eat at the terrace or at the separate dinning room, since it gets crowded and ridiculously noisy. At the point that it is uncomfortable if fully booked. The restaurant is a chalet with nice terraces and decorated with many green plants. Nice. The welcome and service throughout was not attentive. We’re English but are residents and live locally. My friend speaks fluent Spanish. The food was very good, we tried a selection of tuna, which was delicious. We chose our wine but the sommelier again was not interested to help us. The place itself is beautifully decorated, it is on an industrial estate so I guess either for local business people or like us a destination restaurant. We eat out a lot but won’t be returning sadly.

We had a great stay at this hotel! The rooms were spotless, and I really appreciated that they were cleaned every single day. The only minus in my opinion was the mattress who was too firm,just a personal preference. We had half board and the food at the restaurant was delicious and varied, and the area where the pool is located is absolutely beautiful — a perfect spot to relax. The only thing worth mentioning is that the pool itself could be maintained a bit better in terms of cleanliness. The staff at both reception and the restaurant were very polite and friendly. The gym and sauna needs booking in advance you can book 1h at the reception. Location of the hotel 15 minutes walk from Elche City Centre. Overall very happy with our choice,we had an amazing time.

We stayed two nights (half board) at Port del Mil·lenni and overall had a very good experience. 🌴 • The highlight was the live music on Saturday night by Ismael Moreno – really gentle and beautiful style, we loved it. • The rice/paella is a must – huge portions, rich, full of protein, and honestly one of the tastiest we’ve tried. We had it both nights and it was amazing. Other dishes (starters/desserts) were average, but the paella alone is worth it. • Restaurant service was quite slow and not very coordinated, though staff were friendly once you spoke with them. Reception service, on the other hand, was excellent – very nice and always smiling. • Big, clean pool and rooms. Housekeeping was great. The organic toiletries (shampoo/gel/conditioner) were a lovely touch, smelled amazing. • Breakfast was decent: good pastries, cheeses, hams, fresh fruit, and some extras like membrio. Bread was the weakest point. • Location is beautiful, surrounded by palm trees, with parking available and walking distance to the city. For the price, it’s definitely a great stay. We’d rate it 8/10 overall.

Great location just walking distance to the town in Elche lots of Horts (orchards) nearby u can visit. Rooms are excellent, the restaurant for full board now that's the best as well and the breakfast. I cant complain really 😁

Well organised staff, who worked very hard, even in 40 degrees heat. Very impressed. Bravo, hopefully see you again soon.

Lovely hotel within the historic palm tree groves of Elche. The hotel and rooms were excellent but christ please support the pool bar staff they are understaffed and stressed out from demand. Why host all the parties if you cannot provide the manpower. Waited sometimes up to 1h for drinks and food ordered around the beautiful pool. Only criticism hopefully it can be resolved!

Best food in Spain! I've been in Spain for 9 times and always was upset with the food, but this place is mind-blowing!! Waiter didnt speak English, but he managed explain everything. Prices are low, food was great! Street was beautiful and cozy. Couldnt ask for more! Good luck!

A small, presumably family restaurant, in a pedestrian alley, behind the Basilica of Saint Mary, with a warm welcome, a helpful, smiling and open owner, just like the rest of the staff. Sufficient choice, with simple, but excellent dishes! 3-course menu at €15, including drinks. In short: what more could you ask for for a pleasant lunch during your visit to the city. I highly recommend this place!

Such a jem! We loved everything of this place, from the kind service to the incredible food with Peruvian influences. We had a whole pulpo out of the menu that was simply the best I've had in my entire life. Food can be a bit heavy (as everywhere in Spain) but totally worth it. A must try!

This is just the best place to eat in Elche! You definitely cannot miss the "Crêpe de salmon". Don't forget to leave some room for the desserts bc they are just amazing. The staff is great and helpful.

Made an impromptu stopover in Elche - and changed upon this gem. It was fully booked for Friday lunch (a great sigh) but they squeezed me in. Absolutely delicious tapas!! The tortilla was to die for but the real star was the Amazing Tuna Nachos!! Wowee. Insane. Will def be back for more.

I ate here earlier this year whilst visiting Elche. Very welcoming host, the restaurant is small with quirky decorative touches. I chose a salad, the main component being chicken, with lots of interesting leaves, avocado, seeds etc. Given the lovely ingredients it should have been excellent but it had far too much dressing and far too much salt. It cost €12. I'd had a similar salad in the hotel Huerta del Cura which was really good and only cost €10. I would go back though and try something different.

A tiny gastronomic bar in Elche. Great dishes but I love their Spanish omelette which is served Wednesdays and Thursdays only. Must book a table through WhatsApp.

La Lateria is an amazing place. Good food (the tuna nachos are amazing) and very good wine. The place in itself is cozy and the staff is very friendly. We’ll come back for sure !

Thank you very much for great dinner with my boyfriend! It was amazing! Very friendly stuff, beautiful interier and no long waiting. We had octopus (10/10!!) - very tasty! Unbelievable great and bit prawns (special spices here). But.... cheesecake.. about this cheesecake we can speak hours! So creamy texture and not too much sweet taste. It was just delight! Highly recommended and 100% we will visited again!

My wife and I spent our anniversary dinner here last night. The restaurant was busy for a Tuesday evening. The food was all freshly prepared and extremely tasty. Just a word of warning, ⚠️, the starters are NOT starter sized... They are much bigger than expected. They should be sharing platters. We obviously over-ordered, wanting to try as much as we could. The photos below show the small grilled squid (starter and delicious) and the leg of lamb (also delicious). However, the sirloin steak was not quite right, too tough in our opinion. The service was very busy but the front of house staff were excellent and it was run very smoothly. We would definitely go back but knowing what we know, we would be more conservative in our ordering! 🤣 Thank you.

We had dinner for two at Chakra restaurant in Santa Pola and were very pleased. The food was delicious – the fish was cooked perfectly, juicy and full of flavor. As a starter, we had fried octopus and calamari, which was a generous portion and incredibly tasty – fresh, crispy, and well-seasoned. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was very pleasant. We’d be happy to come back again and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for quality seafood and a relaxed dining experience.

On the second night of our month-long off-season stay in Alicante, we went to check out Chakra, which we'd seen well-reviewed alongside its neighbour, the also excellent Nou Arcos. Despite our limited Spanish, our host (I believe Juan, co-owner with his wife Carla who is the Chef) made my wife and me incredibly welcome. What an initiation into local seafood. Having spent some weeks in the UK where fried calamari is often little more than an exploration of heavy batter with some stale, poorly cooked seafood buried somewhere in the middle, to taste the fried baby squid here, juicier than biting into a crisp apple (and a zillion times tastier) was a revelation. So was the seabass, caked and baked in salt, lit in flame pre-serving and as moist and perfectly cooked as perhaps any fish I have enjoyed. Nice house wines by the glass, fair prices for drinks and food (of which there is a fantastically diverse offering) and lovely understated hosts. Superb.

A great experience as always at Chakras. Team are very friendly and the food is great. Grilled squid and a paella are definitely recommended.
