Seceda, located in the Dolomites, is a prominent mountain offering a range of activities for nature enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy alpine hiking trails, take a cable car ride to the top for breathtaking views, and explore the ski area. The Puez Odle Hike within the Puez Odle National Park is highly recommended, providing stunning mountain vistas and picturesque meadows along with charming mountain huts.
Amazing hike and experience. The place is unreal! Better time to go is around September, is not too busy and wheater conditions is still pretty good. Although cable car on my opinion is a little overpriced (52e per person) + car parking + toilet payment on the main station. There is local restaurants around the park as well.
Elise A — Google review
I spent 12 days hiking in the Dolomites, and this was by far the least impressive. Two people to go up cost €110 plus parking — expensive but still acceptable. But charging €5 just for the photo spot felt absurd. They’ve monetized the mountain 160% — completely over the top. On top of that, the walk feels more like strolling through a farm than truly trekking in nature.
Mariana S — Google review
Probably the most visited place in Val Gardena. Remember to layer up in the shoulder season and check the webcams for weather. We walked from the seceda cable station to col raiser and got down using the cable car there. Beautiful scenic walk with good food at the hut in between.
Armon C — Google review
Breathtaking view. Amaizing landscapes it looks like we are un some different alien planet. Though cable rides were bit costlier but a gardena pass covering major cable rides would be preferable if u are visiting other places of dolomites.
Sanjaykumar M — Google review
Beautiful views but crowded There are even parts of land where you need to pay to pass Nice walk from Col Raiser No people
Ana V — Google review
The cable car going up to the mountain top from Ortisei is rather expensive for 52 EUR but it’s such a gorgeous place that it was absolutely worth it. Tickets can be bought on site or online (we bought them from our phone when we arrived there as lines were very long, so we could skip the line and head directly to the cable car). Lines were long but moved quickly. The mountains are breathtaking and there are so many different hikes to take. The only reason I’m giving 4* is because of the SCAM at the top: as we walked towards one of the panoramic views, there was a turnstile with a man standing there, demanding 5 EUR from everybody to get to that specific part of the mountain. Firstly, I found it disgusting to block parts of a natural beauty and ask money from people to be able to access it, and second, as it turned out there is a short uphill path leading up to the panoramic point where there was no one who would ask money, so people would just walk up and see the same thing others paid for (despite the no entry sign placed at the start of that short path).
Alexandra D — Google review
Amazing views (if you get lucky with the weather), but €52 for a return lift ticket is, in my opinion, absolutely ridiculous. Plus, parking costs around €10 (depending on how long you stay). Also, hotels in the town are way overpriced. If you’re planning to come, look for accommodation a little outside the area — it’s worth it.
Juris A — Google review
siting Seceda in October (2025) for the views was a truly magnificent experience! The weather at the summit was perfectly cool, making the walk very comfortable, and the scenery was as spectacular as rumored, especially the steep, jagged peaks of the Odle Group cutting against the vast meadows. Getting here is very easy and convenient; you just take two consecutive cable cars up from the town of Ortisei, and you are immediately greeted with a 360-degree panoramic view as soon as you step off the lift. It's an unmissable spot for capturing world-class landscapes!

Ski resort
Saslong, located in Val Gardena, offers a variety of accommodations including 2 to 4-star hotels with options like swimming pools and bed & breakfast services. The direct link between the Saslong gondola and the Sochers/Ciampinoi chair lift has been reopened, providing convenient access for skiers. The ski area features diverse difficulty levels and extensive slopes, ensuring that visitors can enjoy a full day of skiing without repeating any runs.
I decided to left a review because noticed a lot of hate because of new 6 place chair lift that bring you from saslong to ciampioni top. I never been in this resort before but I love this decision in terms of skiing (for just exploring the top I would agree that it is not convinient at all). But for skier the slope under 6 chair lift became one of my favourite in the sella ronda. It is fast to go decent, you may take a super fast speed and there is a proper place to slow down and not so many people on this slope which also great. Worth to say that in my opinion it not for beginners at all, so if you or you friend not so confident on ski or board I would recommend Corvara which has a big amount of nice blue slopes. Anyway, it is only my opinion and it works to me, but first half of Saslong became one of my favourite slopes thanks to this 6 chair lift, because it fat and I don’t need to get my ski off. (on the second photo you may see the slope it is on the right from main black one and on the left from main red one if see from top, there always no people and it is perfectly straight at the and of the day at 16.15 while other 2 slopes has mogul)
Dmytro D — Google review
I do not recommend this place. We did not meet friendly staff. The trouble started when we bought ski passes. We were with a baby in a stroller and wanted to buy a ticket only for the ascent and return for €25, but the cashier said that he recommends to go higher with the baby, where there is no wind and a lot of sun, and buy a ticket for €74. So we did. But when we got up, we saw that there are no more lifts with a baby carriage, only with skis, there is no wind and it is very sunny. So a ticket for €25 was enough for me. I went back downstairs with the baby to change the ticket from €74 to €25, but the cashier did not agree, he spoke angrily and rudely to me. I asked for the manager. Sent me half a kilometer to another place. There was no medger in the other cash registers. Again he spoke to me in a rude and unfriendly manner. The problem was not solved. Upstairs in the cafe, they were so unfriendly, they didn't let you pass the cafe with a stroller, they made you drive through the snow. No respect for a woman with a small baby
Ingrida P — Google review
Amazing slope!!! But the cabin lift is very uncomfortable and crowded in the morning. Also there are quite enough stairs leading to it. But we just love Saslong slopes anyway ❤️❤️❤️
Monika N — Google review
This mythical slope! skiing on a World Cup course feels truly special. I recommend going in the morning, right after it’s been freshly prepared by the snow groomers. Exquisite!
Stefano R — Google review
Do yourself a favour and try it early in the morning with not too much people around. If you don’t care about history of this slope just understand this: you can go fast, you can go technical or just messing around- it will still be fun.
Dyzma B — Google review
The greatest ski champions compete in two breathtaking races on the classic Saslong located in the heart of the Dolomites.
František Z — Google review
Stayed in August with a camper direct under the skislope. Restaurant and motor hotel Florian near for refreshments.
Bas J — Google review
The changes made to the area blocking direct access to the lift under the pretense of safety are atrocious. It actually makes it more dangerous as you have to diagonally cross an active slope. Would suggest avoiding the lift. Though as a result of low usage the slope is in a pretty good shape for late season.

Gardena Pass, also known as Passo Gardena in Italian, Grodnerjoch in German, and Ju de Frara or Jeuf de Frea in Ladin, is a high mountain pass located in the Dolomites of the South Tyrol region in northeast Italy. This picturesque pass offers stunning views and year-round recreational opportunities. The road to the pass is famous for its hairpin turns and is not recommended for inexperienced drivers.
My favorite part of Dolomites. It’s hard to describe in words the beauty of this place. Highly recommended for hiking.
Agnieszka Ś — Google review
A fairly interesting, but challenging hike. The ascent includes some light via ferrata elements, but no special equipment is needed. There’s a safety cable along the trail to help. For better stability on sections with loose rocks, I’d recommend bringing trekking poles
Tetiana B — Google review
Gorgeous fun drive but sadly very popular so it can get busy but when you dive it or bike it, you will see why!
Bocks S — Google review
The views are INSANE! One of those places where you cannot believe your eyes. No matter where you turn you can see mountains. There are many cables around to get to the top of the mountains or to the walking hikes near the peaks. Parking on top is 2€/h max 8€/ day. We came around 11 AM and it was half full. It is quite chilly so bring a jacket
Amita J — Google review
An absolutely iconic pass! I rode through it on my motorbike, and the breathtaking scenery was nothing short of magical!
Nikos Z — Google review
Amazing place! I would suggest to end your day here, since it’s easy reachable with the car. No entrance, easy parking (max €4 per hour), a lot of gondola/ cable options around. The road is amazing and popular under motorcycles, exciting mountainbike roads, a few hotels with restaurants. Stunning views, just generally really nice, even without hiking!
Pebbles N — Google review
The landscapes are truly rare and beautiful. We didn't go after some trails but there are many of them. The area is worth seeing! 🤩

My favorite climb with my road bike, from Corvara 10km climb very nice grade between 7% & 8% and some parts 12% but very short part. Nice coffee ☕️ shop on the top. With very nice view from both side Corvara and Sella. Good parking 🅿️ places for the car for climbers 🧗 and allot of trails for hiking 🥾. And 6km climb from the junction coming from Passo Sella with some flat part (1 km).

Col Raiser is a summit station accessible by a gondola, offering access to summer hiking trails and winter ski slopes. It's located in the heart of Val Gardena, with lifts taking visitors to the high plateaus of Col Raiser and Monte Pana. The cable car ride takes about 14 minutes and provides stunning views of the valley. At the summit, there are various hiking trails, two restaurants, a souvenir shop, and clean toilets.
Underrated gem in the Dolomites – a must for true hiking lovers The Col Raiser cable car is one of the best experiences I had in the Dolomites—and in my opinion, it’s a better choice than the more famous Seceda. While Seceda tends to attract the crowds and selfie-seekers, Col Raiser offers a more peaceful and authentic mountain experience. Right from the start, it’s easier and more affordable: parking is cheaper and less chaotic, and the cable car ride itself is smooth and scenic. Once at the top, you’re greeted by breathtaking alpine views that rival, if not surpass, those at Seceda—but with a lot fewer people around. What really sets Col Raiser apart is the hiking. This is the place to be if you actually enjoy walking the trails rather than just posing at the summit. The area offers a wide range of hiking routes for all levels, with well-marked paths winding through alpine meadows, dramatic peaks, and charming mountain huts. There are also a few great restaurants at the top where you can enjoy a hearty local meal with a view. The whole experience feels more connected to nature and less like a tourist funnel. If you’re looking for a genuine Dolomite adventure—peaceful, scenic, and active—Col Raiser should be high on your list.
Artem P — Google review
I was there3 times in these past years but it was a whit foggy weather every time. But this time , the sunshine and post-rain morning showed a magnificent view of the Seceda and surrounding Gruppo Odle, Gruppo Geisler and Sassalungo!

Amazing place to use for exploring the odles group, excellent food with 2 huts to choose from and many trails too. Must visit! Took 350 from bolzano and got off at St Cristina dosses. Then transferred to bus 358 shuttle if you do not want to walk up to the station with is a good 15mins uphill. Use your Bolzano guest card to take free transports if you are staying in the region

Took the first car up to hike Seceda, works great and makes the hike not take all day. Amazing and beautiful views!
Herwal — Google review
So glad we decided to add this at the last minute! Far less crowded than anywhere else (crowds overall died off the last few days of August). Beautiful, easy hiking areas available with stunning views. Note on parking though- you have to take your ticket up to the cable car entrance/ ticket counter, so if you have a day pass, you’ll still have to wait to pay for your parking.
Sdoubledub 1 — Google review
Stunning scenery from the top of the cable car station is stunning, especially in clear weather. We took a 3 hour walk around the panorama circuit and enjoyed it greatly. The views in every direction were spectacular.

OK, if here for a week, you will probably want to do the Sellaronda one day. But probably not two days - as it involves a lot of sitting on lifts. Great views on a nice day, so perhaps worth it on a nice sunny day.

Sellaronda is a breathtaking ski circuit in the Dolomites, offering stunning mountain views and a diverse range of slopes. The interconnected ski resorts of Val Gardena, Alta Badia, Arabba, and Val di Fassa create a seamless experience for skiers and snowboarders. The variety of slopes caters to different skill levels, making it suitable for both beginners and advanced riders. The picturesque villages along the route add charm to the overall experience. Sass Pordoi is a breathtaking high plateau-like rock summit in the Dolomites, accessible by a popular cable car and favored by hikers. The area offers beautiful walks and more challenging hikes around Canazei, including on Sass Pordoi, Piz Boe, and the Sella or Sassolungo. The cable car ride itself provides awesome views, while walking around the high plateau offers even more stunning vistas.
Amazing views and an awesome trail. Please note that this trail to Piz Boe is a challenging one and not suitable for everyone . Amazing place though and very different from Secada. Definitely like walking on the moon :)

Sasso Pordoi is an absolute must-visit! The views are simply breathtaking — it feels like standing on top of the world. Whether you hike up or take the cable car, the experience is unforgettable. A perfect place to pause, breathe in the mountain air, and feel the magic of the Dolomites.

If I could live here I would. It’s just an amazing place that brings you joy no matter what. It it truly stunning and majestic. The rock formations are beautiful and powerful to see, mixed with the green fields that are also quite beautiful. All these mountain ranges are out of this world and also world class. I did biking and the trails are amazing!!

Very different views and terrains than any other place we hiked in the dolomites. A desert pocket on a top of a mountain. There is an option to take a rather steep side trail right after the rifugio to make it a circular day trek. Note that it is not an easy day, about 7-8 hours with 500 meters descend and climbing back up, so be prepared if you take that trail.
Barr D — Google review
Breathtaking views, totally worth it! The gondola lift is working till 5pm, very fast - gets you up in just 1.5 minute. What looks like a moutain peak from below is actually a plateau - you have a long hike around. You have two distinctive landscapes out there - a view of the mountains around and a moon or Duna-like view of the plateau itself, a whitish stone desert. Allow for at least an hour at the top to enjoy - and more if you want to take a longer hike
Andriy S — Google review
Top of the Dolomites, effortless. Already the cable car ride offers awesome views; even more so does walking around the high plateau which this summit really is.

The view of the mountain from the west side is simply stunning. The combination of the fog and the sun creates a truly epic effect. The mountain seems to rise up out of the mist, its peaks shrouded in clouds. It is a truly awe-inspiring sight.

Gorgious hike to the top. We went with the car to Compatch (20 euro's parking), went by bus to Saltria and then took the last lift to the Florian lift. We hiked up the Platzkofel in 2,5h and went back in 1,5h. Nice hike, last part is a bit steep! The views are stunning

Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Nestled in the picturesque landscape, Fischburg, which translates to "Castle of Fishing," boasts a rich history dating back to 1641 when it was constructed by the Counts of Wolkenstein. This stunning Renaissance-style castle features fortification elements and was originally designed as a hunting lodge. While it remains privately owned and inaccessible for tours, visitors can enjoy its charm during the summer months at the "Valgardenamusika" festival, where delightful concerts fill its courtyard with music.
The name "Fischburg" means "Castle of fishing" and derives from the many lakes that the owner had to dig to raise trout. Built in 1641 by Counts of Wolkenstein, with the intervention of the sculptor-architect Hans Reichle of Schongau, Castle was used as a hunting lodge, in Renaissance style with elements of fortification. Privately owned, Castle can not be visited, although in summer, during "Valgardenamusika" festival, concerts are held in its courtyard.

The view of the town and mountains from the castle slopes are beautiful. I image it would be an amazing view from the castle towers. Currently the castle is privately own and not open to the public. The castle buildings are just as interesting up close as they are from afar.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful castle of which there is also a miniature clearly visible on the road of the old train that goes from Selva to Ortisei. It's private and you can't enter, but I only found out about this later. I was lucky enough to get there at a time when it was open and there were several people around and I was able to take some photos from the entrance. You can get there by path both from "la selva" and from Santa Cristina. Sass Rigais is a stunning mountain peak in the Dolomite range, offering breathtaking views and hiking trails to the summit. The ascent requires good physical condition, as well as a ferrata kit and helmet due to some loose sections and exposed areas. It's recommended to check the weather forecast to avoid thunderstorms. Many visitors enjoy the via ferrata experience, suggesting it's manageable with some fitness and proper equipment. Some recommend approaching clockwise to avoid a long walk up the scree field.
Made this via ferrata mid-June, and only the south path was doable. The others were not managable because of snow. Recommend going up early in the morning since clouds and fog usually come around noon time. We still had some snow, and it took us 7 hours in total
Jacqueline K — Google review
Ridiculously beautiful views at the top with lots of animals on the way. The route can get slightly challenging when coming down but overall very doable. Via Ferrara is clearly very well maintained and fun to climb. 10/10 experience, not crowded at all.

Great via Ferrata - would recommend making the approach clockwise to avoid the long walk up the scree. Doable alongside the secada viewpoint in one day, with the cable car up via col raiser
Luke — Google review
One of the best panorama of the dolomites. Easy climb from both sides after a kind of steep and demanding approach from Col Raiser or Daunei parking lot (our starting point at 7 am). We reached the summit around 10 am thus beating the crowds - highly recommended choice - so that we could spend the rest of the day wandering around in the amazing Puez Odle group
Tony B — Google review
The view is very beautiful from the top, but you have to be in good shape to climb up (and down 😉) and make sure to have a ferrata kit and a helmet. Some sections of the ferrata are loose and there are some exposed areas without ferrata lines, so I don't recommend this with kids or for people with little or no experience. Check the weather forecast and make sure you don't get caught in a thunderstorm.
Orsi N — Google review
Set aside plenty of time for the full loop. Most people go counter clockwise so you aren’t going through the scree field on the decent.

We took the 2 person cable car up and went around the whole mountain back. Very nice views and relatively easy hike with some climbs. A wonderful place to walk up to from Ortesei or down from Seceda. Visited twice and wasn't disappointed by the view or the serenity of the church

Alina V — Google review
Updated review following the hotel response: I appreciate the response. While I understand your policy, it is clear what story this incident tells. The story for your hotel is now: 'We would rather chase a small child into heavy rain than risk a paying guest momentarily finding one less umbrella available, even if all are unused.' I believe you could have a different story: 'Our staff saw a child in the rain and made a kind gesture to help.' The latter is the story even your own guests would remember and share positively. I am sharing this because I hope future situations are handled with more humanity and decency and less rule-following rigidity. Giving a low rating for the hotel staff’s lack of empathy or kindness. Today we were outside of the hotel waiting for our bus and it started raining. We and a lady with a little kid went under the hotel umbrellas to seek some shelter. Soon we were chased away by the hotel staff. He would not allow us to be there since we were not hotel guests even though the umbrellas were all free and no one else was waiting to use them. We told him we just needed be there for a couple of minutes before the bus came. He still would not allow us. It reflects badly on the hotel if this is how they treat people in general.
Qing T — Google review
A very beautiful hotel, actually even nicer than the one we originally booked. There was a mistake with our reservation, but the receptionist Nicolo contacted us immediately, handled everything professionally, and offered us a room in this hotel. We really appreciate his attitude, and as an apology for the inconvenience, we were given dinner for free – perfect service and very professional approach. The hotel is beautiful, the surroundings are great, there is a pool, sauna, hot tub, and secure garage for motorcycles – just perfect.
Juraj S — Google review
There are few hotels that evoke emotions that last long after you arrive home. And Hotel Maciaconi is one of them. At first I was slightly nervous because of some of the dissatisfied visitors here in the reviews. Immediately upon arrival those fears dissipated. I was greeted by extremely friendly receptionist who even called me before my arrival to see I will be in time for dinner. Subsequently, due to my very late arrival, he prepared refreshments for me, which were delicious. Even for the rest of my stay he was very pleasant and helpful and arranged everything I needed. And the staff is what makes this hotel special. Not just the receptionist, but the bartender, the absolutely great and friendly guys in the kitchen and their super beautiful lady colleague who just makes you look forward to the dinner. And the food? Excellent, like in the best restaurants. I definitely recommend dining here. Room was spacious and beautiful with modern TV, great pool with perfect temperature. I was sorry I didn't enjoy anything because of my daily bike ride. Weaknesses? For this price cattegory I'm used to a wider choice of food at breakfast (I especially missed the sausage, for example) and maybe better room amenities (water, hygiene items, etc.) But these are just small things to improve. I will definitely return to this hotel again, maybe later this year if it is available. Thank you

Fantastic location in St Christina right off of the traffic circle. Hotel was very modern and cozy. Shops, restaurants, groceries were all super close. The spa and pool area was top notch. Tons of space for spreading out and relaxing. We had an excellent balcony view. Can’t wait to come back!

Really negative experience. A group of 4 and myself stayed one night at Maciaconi. For starters, the receptionist at the time was incredibly rude. He laughed at us when we asked simple questions like how to connect to WiFi. Additionally, we didn’t receive the room we booked and only found out after our stay that we had indeed been scammed. I’ve tried reaching out to Maciaconi staff about this problem but they haven’t been helpful. We paid $1400 for a room that we didn’t even receive.

The kids loved it! They were excited to get to each new ‘station’. We completed it in under an hour. Unfortunately, the water station wasn’t working which my son was most looking forward to. Perhaps they disconnect it at the end of summer. The morning views of Val Gardena were spectacular.

Comploj Margherita is a souvenir shop situated in the heart of Santa Cristina village. This establishment, run by a friendly owner, has been serving customers for approximately two decades. Its prime location in S. Christina makes it easily accessible to visitors. The store offers a wide range of well-equipped apartments that cater to the needs of families and friends with a passion for skiing.
Excellent position in the middle of Santa Cristina village. Margherita is a an angel, a perfect guide to Val Gardena's beauty and she can display the truth on several historical events. The house is perfect for families and friends with good ski attitudes. 10 minutes to rent good gear in front of the house, 5 minutes and you are in White Paradise.

The Naturpfad Troi Unika is a delightful art and nature trail that beautifully intertwines the stunning landscapes of the Dolomites with artistic expressions rooted in Val Gardena's rich carving tradition. Spanning approximately 1.5 kilometers on Monte Pana, this easy-going path is perfect for families, including those with strollers. As you stroll along, you'll encounter various sculptures and installations that celebrate both nature and mountain themes, making it an enriching experience for all ages.
Lovely walk with great landscapes of the Dolomites. Not hard at all. Suitable for children.
Brenda B — Google review
The path has degraded over the years and much is uneven on the uphill and downhill portions. It would be hard to push a stroller and those with issues with poor footing should take care. Not as artsy as I remember from the past. Good views, but I would not make this a major part of an itinerary.

(Translated by Google) A very simple, circular 1.5 km trail. It features art installations along the way. Ideal for a running workout, but I'd say almost nothing more. Beautiful views of the valley (Val Gardena) and, of course, Mount Pana, as well as Sasso Lungo and Sasso Piatto.

(Translated by Google) Nice route on Monte Pana... a pleasant walk immersed in landscapes surrounded by the stupendous Dolomite peaks... the sculptures are also beautiful, certainly a non-demanding itinerary; you can park directly on site for the cost of €6 per day or reach the mountain from Santa Cristina in about half an hour via a beautiful path... excellent excursion suitable for everyone! 🏔️

(Translated by Google) Easy trail to do with small children. However, it offers an incredible view of Sassolungo, Sella and Odles. An extremely relaxing walk. Not very crowded despite the period. Recommended especially at sunset. (Original) Sentiero semplice da fare con bambini piccoli. Offre però una vista incredibile su sassolungo, sella e odles. Una passeggiata estremamente rilassante. Poco frequentato nonostante il periodo. Consigliato specialmente al tramonto.
