Decided to take a day trip to Opus 40, afterwards we darted into Woodstock for a meal. Cucina was the perfect meal, atmosphere was vibrant and folksy, I strongly recommend the porch seating. Food was fantastic.if I’m in the area again I’ll totally visit again.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cucina Woodstock, and I left feeling incredibly impressed. The food was an absolute standout - everything tasted fresh and perfectly cooked. This is my favorite restaurant in the area and most definitely in my favorite top five around the globe. I have eaten here many times and every single time the food is exceptional and the staff is welcoming and makes my dining experience amazing. There literally isn't one thing on their menu that isn't absolutely amazingly delicious. They have kept this level of excellence for decades since they opened and not once been less than expected, but better than. A huge thank you to the chef and all his staff in the kitchen and in the diningroom! You all are a constant level of excellence not many restaurants around the globe can say they maintain like you do. 🤘🤩🤩🤘

I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding for Nicole Puckette Photography this past weekend at The Barn at Cucina in Woodstock, NY, and I can honestly say it was one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve had behind the camera in a long time. From start to finish, everything about the day radiated warmth, care, and that unmistakable Woodstock charm. This big old tire lug even cried at one point (beautiful day). The Barn itself is stunning — rustic beams and earthy textures balanced by soft, glowing light that makes every moment feel intimate. The space feels both elevated and welcoming, where guests instantly relax into the atmosphere. As a photographer, I loved how naturally light fell across the room, how every corner offered a backdrop of character and soul. The staff deserves endless praise, I must say. They were attentive, yet never intrusive, and moved with thoughtfulness. I watched glasses being filled before anyone noticed they were empty, plates delivered with genuine smiles, and small details handled with a level of care that made all the difference. And then there's the food — it was out of this world. Every dish was crafted with love, pride, rooted in the flavors of the Hudson Valley and plated with artistry. From the first bites of fresh made pasta to the rich, soulful entrées of chicken and fish, guests talked about the food all night. And me, two days later I'm still talking about it. Guests lingered at long tables, savoring not just the food but a sense of connection it fostered. My hats off to the chef! I love what you do. The Barn at Cucina in Woodstock does not just host weddings — it embraces them. It gave the bride and groom and their family and friends a space to celebrate love, life, the past, present and the future while also creating a sense of community, belonging. By the end of the evening, it was less like a venue and more like a gathering place for something sacred, joyful, holy. If you’re considering Woodstock for your wedding, The Barn at Cucina is a gem. As a photographer, I can’t recommend it enough — it’s a place where love is not only celebrated but elevated, wrapped in incredible service, unforgettable food, and a setting that feels timeless, chic, elevated.

Really enjoyed eating here and sitting at the large table, it was a stunning atmosphere, great food and a nice and relaxing experience. Loved how we were seated at the long table with others, it was really cool to have a hippie commune style experience in a gourmet restaurant.

The ambiance is definitely on the nicer side, where the decor looks elegant, warm, and welcoming. The staff and service were also very nice and speedy! The corn chowder special was tasty but felt a bit lacking where, as you can see in the photo, is only half full. The mussel special on Tuesdays was also a bit small for its price, where we counted around 15-16 pieces for 21 dollars, averaging a dollar and change per piece. The sauce that accompanied the mussel was on the sour side, which I personally would like it to be more garlicky or buttery than sour. The prickly pear yuzu drink was my personal favorite and I highly recommend it! The bolognese ricotta pasta was so incredibly flavorful that I literally couldn't stop eating it...even though it is my wife who ordered it haha. Our server, Briella, was so sweet, kind, and friendly that she literally made our dining experience so much more enjoyable! Our ribeye steak had some issues where it was first over cooked to well-done when we asked for medium-rare. Briella apologized and did her best to remedy it by requesting another one be made. However, the second one came out overly rare and Briella once again apologized profusely, which showed us that she really cared that we got what we requested. She never once argued with us or tried to persuade us that we were wrong, nor was she ever defensive about it; truly illustrating what customer-oriented service really looks like. Ultimately they were able to remedy it and the ribeye came out delicious with its herbed aioli! We want to take this moment to thank Briella for her diligence, care, and consideration in making our meal as perfect as it can be! Thank you, Briella, for being such an amazing server and for demonstrating what exemplary service looks like! We will definitely come back to try their many other delicious looking options! The food was just okay I gave it 2 stars. I see a lot of 5 stars I don’t think these people ever ate in a really good restaurant. The service was pretty good everyone was nice and Attentive. What really got me upset was my wife asked for a little sauce for her pasta on the side and they changed 1.50$ for two teaspoons. The chicken parmigiana I got was way overpriced and not good. I will definitely not return.

Delicious bakery and deli options for dining. Their coffee is always delicious as well. I ordered the broccoli salad and it came out quickly. The bread that came with my salad was filling and had comforting flavor. This location almost always has a line on the weekends and there are limited seating options so keep that in mind!

We really enjoyed our breakfast here! It was so good that we had to come back the next day. We tried the spicy green eggs, the pecan-cashew-walnut butter, the ricotta toast and the avocado toast, the friend egg bun and breakfast burrito. The bread is so so good and we bought a loaf to take home. We also bought some pastries and tried the coffee, which were fine, but not the highlight. Service was great. The place was really busy both mornings we were there but we were able to find seats.

The whipped ricotta toast was mind blowing. A lot of places have been doing this but I find the ricotta a lot of times flavorless, but this one was perfectly seasoned throughout, the honey gave the saltiness a nice balance and the squash was perfectly paired into the toast. Needless to say the bread was also incredible and I chose to add egg in it for some extra pop. I loved the breakfast burrito also which was very simple but everything done right which is hard to find surprisingly. I finished with the mocha which was also great too, definitely check this out if in Woodstock.

Bread Alone in Woodstock was such a delightful first visit. The moment I walked in, I was welcomed by the amazing aroma of fresh bread and coffee. They have plenty of bread and pastry options. I tried the carrot cake and it was divine. I also got an iced caramel latte, which was really good! It’s a cute coffee shop with a cozy ambiance and delicious food. I’ll definitely be back. ☕

Amazing pastries and it's evident why they sell out of stuff so fast. The items here are just too good to pass up and are a must try. I was visiting family from Texas. It was my first time trying a Canelé and I was blown away. It was so good that I actually went home and ordered a dozen copper molds to make them myself. And ever since my trip I've been dedicated to perfecting them. My girlfriend also had the ricotta spread on their house toast and loved it!

Adore this cafe. Great coffee, bread, pastries and breakfast dishes. Friendly staff. Super efficient. Their outdoor seating is a great place to soak in the morning sun and people watch as you sip on your coffee.

Branch coffee place with decent selection of breakfast sandwiches, toasts, cofees and baked pastries. Buckwheat bread is great, so is Vegan Chocolate Spelt Pound Cake - phenomenal!

What happened to the Hippies? The rediculously overpriced tomatoes ($7,50/box) turned out to be waxed (not vaxxed, lol) and tasted exactly like the watery supermarket variety. It is easy to tell the difference, sucks that people do this. 'From the ground', right.

Don’t bother unless you want some vinyls or someone else’s used junk. About 15 “vendors” and a hot dog stand. That was it for what was touted as “the best flea market”. 🙄

Best place to be a vendor and experience the people and visitors of woodstock!!! The flea market is amazing curated mixture of vendors that bring so much life to woodstock. I highly recommend.

Small flea market with a 60's vibe throughout. Lots of gems, jewels and spiritual items are offered. Get there early as parking in Woodstock is at a premium on the weekends.

Love this market.. my favorite weekly event here in the heart of Woodstock every Saturday and Sunday from may to November.

So much fun . The fashions were perfect for 4 people who loved Woodstock. If you need souvenirs to bring home from a holiday to Woodstock New York this is the place to get them.. Really good prices too and nice people

Today, I went to see Hello Dolly with a friend. This was my first to the Woodstock Playhouse. When you walk in ,you will see artwork for sale by local artists. You will also see the history of the Woodstock Playhouse. All seating had a great view of the stage. The lighting and sound were great. The performance was fantastic. I most definitely will return.

Every year there are movies from the Woodstock film festival held here. A great venue and worthwhile event to attend.

We love the Woodstock PlayHouse and had a great evening of laughs with Colin Quinn. Wonderful staff and the Playhouse has been nicely done!

So much history!!

First time in Woodstock. We loved the city itself, even out of season, but this museum added impressions of the city. Amazing pieces of art from local artists 🙌🏻

The staff at this venue are helpful and very accommodating and the layout of the museum is very open, which offers very accommodating ateas for artwork to be displayed. However, I think a better job of marketing their local artists could be achieved which in turn would increase local media coverage for them. I have attended two local art shows here and both seemed under attended, despite very heavy foot traffic in the downtown area and the public parking lots, which were packed.

WAAM was, and is, extremely important to me as an artist. It was my first foray into exhibiting, and becoming an active member was a huge milestone for me. I continue to enjoy the shows, and the opportunity to exhibit with great artists from the region. The Focus shows, in particular, have raised the bar for exciting exhibitions. And the events/intakes are a great opportunity to schmooze with the art community of the region. This organization does so much to improve the lives of the community.

Interesting works by local authors. Free entree with donations suggested. A lovely place to spend 20 minutes if you're already walking by.

Very disappointing experience. What they had on display was sub par at best. It all looked like a first year art students'final project. What happened to Woodstock? You used to be able to find fantastic art here.

The work is varied and interesting, the admission is free, wish the bathroom was gender neutral and accessible.

Yes, this is the famous Bearsville in all its rustic glory. We went to see Booker T. Jones and he did not disappoint...but the artist and the theater are two different reviews. Sometimes there are chairs set up on the main floor and sometimes not. This time there was an open floor for standing/dancing. The small balcony at the back of the hall has reserved seats, and that made my experience very good. The sound system is great no matter where you are. There is a large bar in the lobby area but few places to sit while waiting for the show. The theater compound has three restaurant areas to eat before the show. One of the choices is a dive bar with bar food. Not impressive and not very attentive service. We did not try the others (Mexican and Tibetan). They have a large parking lot but only part of it is paved, and pouring rain means mud. Theater staff are quite pleasant and helpful.

What a great venue with shopping, restaurants and an historic musical walk in the compound. Bearsville is usually standing room with occasional front seating, depending on the artist. The area offers walking trails, quaint shops and a welcoming atmosphere. I can't wait to go back!

We visited The Bearsville Theater for the Mountain Goats concert in July. The venue was amazing. The acoustics are so good and the show was even more enjoyable because of it. The ambiance on the Bearsville campus is awesome. Parking was easy, there are so many places to relax, dine, or drink before the show. The venue is under new management and I thought they did a fantastic job. I reached out in advance to confirm ADA accessibility. The staff on the day were already informed of my needs and they had a section set aside for me so that I would be safe and be able to see the show, since it was a standing room only show. Easy to get to the bar to get a drink and overall, even though the show was sold out, we did not feel packed in or crowded. We’ve subscribed to their mailing list and can’t wait to go back and see another show there soon. Cannot recommend this venue enough for an amazing concert experience.

This is one of the nicest venues I've ever been to. Not only is it beautiful and well designed, but it's also clean and appears to be well managed and maintained. The staff we interacted with were all pleasant, and we enjoyed our drinks from the bar as well!

Both modern and rustic, this theater complex is very Woodstock. There is plenty of parking, a small, charming walkway with a couple places to get food and drink (right before the show without moving the car!), and a large outdoor picnic area right on the creek. The theater itself has super friendly staff, a nice open stage with an extra monitor in the lounge to watch, and a big patio. Good acoustics and decent lines of sight. We can't wait to see more shows here!

Woodstock is a cute town worth visiting, but the Waterfall Park is private property and accessible to hotel guests only, which is a shame. You can get a view from the side road, but that's about it. The park itself is off limits.

The idea of this is really nice, but there is no access to the "waterfall" itself as it is surrounded by hotels.The viewing platform is there but the view is obstructed by the surrounding tress, you can hear the water falling but definitely don't get a good view during these warmer months. The town of Woodstock is lovely however with much to do!

There really is no waterfall that anyone can visit or see. Don't waste your time looking for it. The locals say sometime after covid someone put this up and people started thinking there was a waterfall in Woodstock but there isn't. Woodstock has one main street, Tinker street. It's full of shops and boutiques and it's fun to browse and stop and have a drink or coffee or lunch or whatever. That's it. It's a cute little town but that's all they've got. That and a Buddhist temple.

Relaxing stroll around Woodstock is just what the doctor ordered! Colorful town with lots shops and eateries. We visited the artist cemetery and across the way, you'll find Levon Helm's eternal resting place.

Beautiful waterfall with what looks like a bunch of small retal houses around it but under renovation. Not sure if it's more better in warmer months but it was just a quick view before entering the small shopping strip in Woodstock.

Seems the falls are surrounded by private property not clear whether you can walk nearer to them

A small but beautiful preserve of meadows that are filled with pollinators and supportive plants. A great place for a walk in any season.

Please do not go there . You will find a lot of bugs and a walk, You do not want to remember. Please save your energy and go somewhere else..

Flat, open, and mowed walk through the field. Great for a dog walk or a stroll at twilight in July to see fireflies. Also they do offer occasional classes. Happy that it is a preserve and accessible.

I live near here and it gives me similar feelings to a walk on the beach. A nice open space full of magic and air, with a beautiful view of Overlook. Very meditative and zen in the off season.

Thorn Preserve used to be the Loan Oak Dairy owned by a local family. Used to be a large barn in the middle of the field where cows were milked and the milk bottles. Later years the field was leased to farmers who planted corn or pumpkins. The far end of the field, next to the Sawkill Creek, has two large water pipes that carry drinking water down from Cooper Lake Reservoir to Kingston.

This record shop has the most INSANELY overpriced prices for their records. Whoever prices their records clearly lacks knowledge. Run of the mill rock records that would be like $5 at any other store are priced at ~$70 at this shop for some reason.

These guys have captured the lizard brain of music lovers: great vinyl, CDs, cassettes, and hardware. Also a wild assortment of guitars, amps, audio equipment rarities. Plus strings, picks, sticks, and the owner’s super cool vinyl art.

The shop has great hand made ornaments made from vinyl records. It also has vintage analog receivers & amplifiers. However, For their handmade ornaments, They're a little pricey. I guess anything handmade would be pricey...

Wonderful local music shop! They have a great selection of entry level and mid range guitars and basses, as well as accessories and Vinyl Records! Jeff and Jeff are exceptional people and I wish them all the best in their new location in the Hudson Valley Mall!

Woodstock Music Shop is the best music shop in the area. The smaller Woodstock location boasts a fantastic selection of instruments, vinyl, and accessories. Anything that the Woodstock location might lack can be quickly had at their new Kingston location, which has single handedly put all other local music stores to shame. The staff is very professional and quick to assist, both locations also offer an interesting selection of used/vintage equipment that regularly rotates. Visitors should expect a unique experience when visiting either shop, a breathe of fresh air compared to the "big box" style stores to the north and south.

Enjoyed the opening of the new exhibit, "Making Woodstock Home, Artist William Arlt". It's running from Sept.9 - Oct. 30. Come and view the artist's landscapes, portraits and still life paintings along with photos of the Arlt family history. Don't miss it!

Hats off to the Woodstock Weavers, who put together a wonderful exhibit, displaying beautiful works of woven art, as well as holding multiple teaching hours, sharing their skills and the tools that have created practical and exquisite garments down through the centuries.

A nice incline for 2.5 miles up past the hotel ruins to fire tower. In the summer this hike can be brutal; as the wide trail is primarily in full sun, and it’s a very stead incline the entire way. Precipitation brings the chance you may not see anything when you reach the top. Running down no matter the weather is my favorite however.

Awesome hike to an even better view! Hiked in the night before and camped at Echo Lake. Not the easiest hike but take plenty of pit stops to check out your surroundings and you'll get to the top. Going up was brutal. Going down was a breeze. Didn't see and rattlesnakes but definitely be cautious.

I did this 4.6(supposedly 5) mile up and back hike in 2 hours with a break up top to enjoy the view and climb the fire tower. Pretty spectacular. 1400 feet of elevation according to Strava. Small parking lot. Enjoy

Popular, clearly defined carriage-road trail with 3 main attractions - 1. Resort ruins 2. Fire watchtower 3. Overlook viewpoint. Moderate difficulty hike with beautiful views and a good chance of seeing natural wildlife, picturesque scenery & friendly hikers. Trail & parking becomes very busy on the weekends & holidays. Recommend about 3 hours for moderate hikers to complete. Enjoyable for all ages.

Definitely a beautiful look out. Moderate hike to get to the top.You will also see a fire tower in an old Stone ruin of an old hotel that used to be back up there in the days.Definitely a must see if you are into finding old stuff.

Overlook is great but Fire Tower gives you best view 360 degree.

Mostly uphill hike and not a very exciting one but very manageable; the views from the tower and the sweet company of the men at the cabin on top are worth it!

The KTD Buddhist Center is truly a special place. As the North American seat of the Karmapa and the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, it carries a deep sense of history and spiritual significance. From the moment we arrived, we were met with warmth and kindness. Khenpo Sangye Trinley gave us a wonderful welcome, personally showing us around and sharing insights about the monastery and its profound teachings. The atmosphere was peaceful and inspiring, perfect for reflection and connection. Lunch was also a highlight, delicious and vegetarian, served in the serene setting of the center. Whether you’re visiting for a retreat, a teaching, or just to experience the space, KTD is a place of genuine hospitality and wisdom. Highly recommend!

Beautiful temple, very reverent and very historical. We could not go inside as there was a retreat happening, but I imagine it is gorgeous. Nice bookstore. Downstairs is a room of statues. Very foggy on top of the mountain.

Place of peace and life. The monks are incredibly humble and friendly, the monastery is clean and open to visitors as long as they remain silent and behave.

Beautiful temple up above Woodstock, easy to drive to, easy to find, plenty of parking, very peaceful, real working monestary with monks in residence, definitely worth the visit.

KTD is an authentic Tibetan Buddhist monastery in the Karma Kagyu School and is the North American seat of the 17th Karmapa. There is usually a tour on Saturdays around lunch. This is a truly magnificent place.

My most spontaneous, fulfilling gift to stumble upon during a time I was desperate to make my own fun out of nothing. The experience I didnt know i was signing up for changed my life in ways, dramatically and forever. Great place to heal

Beautiful place to stop by after hiking across the street. Got a lovely explanation of the significance of this place from John in the bookshop . We will be back to learn more and meditate ! Gorgeous and so peaceful

A singular music venue tucked into the woods just outside the town center of Woodstock NY. Built by hand in the early 1900s to host classical chamber music as part of a local utopian community, it has good intimate acoustics, and the programming includes jazz, ethnic musics, singer-songwriters and children's fare as well as classical ensembles. First-rate, and especially worth supporting given the recent Federal snatch-back of funding they had earned.

A concert at the Maverick is the cutest way to fall in love with chamber music (again). There are few places more beautiful and peaceful than this in the world of live music. If you haven't been, you must!

Really nice old time performance space, mostly classical with some jazz and other types of music. Indoor and outdoor seating in seasonal space with food and drink concession that is small but good. Dinner and drinks available but open only for events so check the schedule.

Beautifully curated program, the venue is quite small and inviting, very rural and peaceful. A hidden gem even though it's been going for over 100 years.

My husband and I look forward to our annual visit to Maverick Concerts. The musicians are first rate, the acoustics are remarkable and the programming is always interesting. If you like classical, jazz or world music definitely give them a try.

Please don't believe the negative review. This couple is some of the sweetest people I have ever had the pleasure of giving my business to. My husband bought me some jewelry for my birthday that was beautiful just not my style. He returned it for store credit and handed that to me.....well things got hectic with Covid and I totally forgot! I returned a year later with nothing but an inquiry and they were so incredibly gracious. The store owners looked through their records and found my husband's purchase and made me a new return credit receipt. They were so helpful throughout the entire process and helped me pick out something that was more me! Go check them out :)

Clouds Gallery is like a museum of fine regional crafts! Their selection is amazingly broad and represents every style imaginable. The level and quality of what they sell is enhanced by the curation and display. The jewel in their crown is SERVICE! Jeanette and Anthony are laid back people who allow you to drink in the surrounds before approaching. They are attentive and helpful and have great taste and insight. THEN...they wrap your gift in the most beautiful way, taking time to make it look like a work of art! Happy to ship or provide you with the materials...the whole experience is one I keep returning for! Check them out if you are looking for things that are truly original and artistic. I wouldn’t recommend visiting for the playground, which is run down. Most of the equipment was broken or vandalized. The pieces that were functional were not pieces that elementary school aged children could use. But the basketball and tennis courts look nice.

In 2014 I gave him several pieces on consignment of rare artwork from the 30s and he gave me a check several months later for a few still owing me for a few and now he doesn't know who I am what I'm talking about and I lost my receipts and he has no records so he stole from me too
