Sabanci Central Mosque, also known as Sabanci Merkez Camii, is a major landmark in Adana, Turkey. This grand mosque was opened in 1998 and is renowned for its stunning Ottoman-style interior and the world's largest mosque panels. It was built by the late industrial magnate Sakip Sabanci and is covered entirely in marble and gold leaf.
A super huge mosque. Very serene. We were the only there at 800am for dhuha prayers. Our car was the only one underneath the mosque basement. Extremely safe place to park with security guard.
Saiful G — Google review
A stunning mosque in the heart of Adana, it took 10 years from 1988-1998 to finish the construction of this serene magnificent complex. There’s a lot of greenery inside its premise which provides solace during the hot summers of this region.
Anusha R — Google review
If you are coming to the Mosque after seeing Taş köprü there is shortcut, an underground passage to the mosque but the passage stinks with urine and filth. You can make a bigger loop and pass through a traffic lights which are a bit far. But if you go through the underground passage the smell is terrible. Looks like an abandoned place. If you can bear the smell you can pass through it fast and reach the beautiful mosque that is worth visiting. I think municipal authorities should pay attention to this.
Azat I — Google review
This is one of the greatest and beautiful mosque what I had ever seen! It's the second largest mosque in Turkey. There’re amazing views all around and exciting views inside.
Denis — Google review
Very beautiful mosque with awesome design and beautiful decorations. Very large interior and exterior surrounding yard. There is a huge park outside the mosque that has many activities for families and children. The mosque is also right on the river and a short walk from the old city.
Ahmad A — Google review
This was my first visit to Adana. I explored the historical area around the clock tower, however the area near to this mosque was my favorite. It’s a big complex, the mosque it’s among the biggest most I’ve visited I. Türkiye. It’s supposed to be the biggest mosque between Istanbul and Saudi Arabia. The park around this mosque was my favorite place to walk in Adana.
Gus — Google review
It is one of the most important symbols of Adana, it has a fascinating structure and unique architecture, the Seyhan River flows past me, it is surrounded by the central park, which is a huge natural beauty, and it is one of the distinguished mosques that everyone should come and see.

Bridge
Stone Bridge, also known as Taskopru or Ponte Sarus, is a historic Roman bridge in Adana that spans the Seyhan River. Dating back to around 200 A.D., this architectural marvel has been in use for centuries and was open to traffic until 2007. The bridge offers picturesque views of the river and surrounding landscape, making it a must-see attraction for visitors to Adana.
Visiting Taş Köprü in Adana was an incredible experience. The bridge, which dates back to Roman times, is a stunning example of ancient engineering and architecture. It’s truly unbelievable that after nearly 2,000 years, it is still in use today, serving both pedestrians and vehicles. The structure’s elegant stone arches over the Seyhan River create a picturesque scene, especially at sunset. Walking across the bridge, I felt a deep connection to history, imagining all the generations who have crossed it before me. The surrounding area is also charming, with scenic views and a vibrant atmosphere. A must-visit landmark in Adana!
Altanay M — Google review
A lovely historic bridge in the heart of the city, Adana. There are many historical places and museums around this bridge, so it is a lovely point to start visiting in the city 🥰
Nur — Google review
Adana Taş Köprü (Stone Bridge) was built during the reign of the Roman Emperor Hadrian in the 2nd century A.D. It spans the Seyhan River (known in antiquity as Sarus) and is considered one of the oldest stone bridges in the world still in use today. Originally constructed with 26 arches, 14 of them are still visible and standing today. The bridge has been used by many civilizations over time, including the Byzantines, Seljuks, and Ottomans, and it has undergone several restorations. Known for its architectural elegance and durability, the Stone Bridge is one of the most iconic landmarks of Adana.
Bilgi S — Google review
Nice view, especially when walking on it. The bridge has been built for more than 1800 years.
Haval S — Google review
A beautiful, well-preserved bridge. You can stroll to the other end and back, just as people have done for many hundreds of years. A view of the huge mosque to the north makes for a nice view. There's not too much to do at the bridge, so I'd recommend next heading towards that mosque through the riverside park on the west bank there, as the nice part of town is in that direction. Though beware of aggressive beggars and peddlers at the mosque.
Kyle W — Google review
Nice view. I saw it when the river was dry. Still nice. Some traditional music players might be there. Adana Landmark!
Hasan I — Google review
The stone bridge is located in the center of Adana city. It is very crowded on holidays. Sometimes local music is played. The view of the mosque and Sihon river is very beautiful. You can take good photos. There is no entrance here, it is open to the public
Kourosh A — Google review
The bridge still stands after all these years, it’s simple but beautifully constructed, unlike those ugly bridges today. On the opposite site of the bridge, take sometime to walk the old town and the Ataturk museum.

The Adana Archaeology Museum showcases artifacts from archaeological excavations in Adana and its surrounding cities, as well as Kahramanmaras, Tarsus, and Mersin. The museum complex also includes the National Textile Factory area, where the Archeology and Mosaic museums are located. Additionally, it features City and Ethnography, Agriculture, Industry Museums along with conference halls, a library, movie theaters, cafeterias and playgrounds.
I’ve traveled all over the world into many museums and this is the best I’ve seen.. I can’t believe it’s not more widely spoken about. I only speak English and the displays all had English and Turkish captioning and the museum staff was so helpful. I went on a Sunday and it was just me and a few other guests, but I was able to spend multiple hours just exploring the area. I love that there’s so many different museums in the one complex. Some of my favorites were the museum of textiles, which isn’t something I would’ve seek out, but I found myself really moved by seeing how Turkish style has evolved through generations. The agricultural museum was also something that taught me so much. Originally, I thought I was only going to see mosaics and ancient pieces, but learning about the history of the region was the most interesting thing to me. I would definitely recommend this. I will definitely be coming back if ever in Turkey, not just this region. I believe this museum sits at the same standard as the Victorian Albert museum in London or the Egyptian museum.
Jasmine N — Google review
We went to Adana Archaeology Museum on last Saturday. Both the museum building and the works it contained were wonderful. Then we realized that the museum was located within a museum complex. Then we saw that there were 4-5 more museums around it. We visited them quickly. We were short of time. All of them had really wonderful arrangements and buildings. You pay the entrance fee once and you can visit all the museums. Only the staff showed little interest in the museum. The museum works need to be protected better. We congratulate the planners of these museums and the curators who organize the works.
Atay A — Google review
A wonderful and beautiful selection of the early times of the region. The place is proper, the art amazing and the staff is super friendly and English speaking. This place is a must see if you are in Adana and like history. Best regards from Vienna 🇦🇹

Many may don't know but there's four (!) museums in total. Archaeology, history about the industrialization of Adana, history of modern art and architecture and the museum about the cotton industry. On the day I went to the museum the ticket included all four museums. I took me 3 hours for a speedy rushing but you can spend literally a whole day there. Really interesting and informative. I've learned a lot about the region and city Adana
Norman M — Google review
A good collection from a few Neolithic artifacts to Roman sarcophagi. It's a fantastic journey through time with many treasures from the region. While it might be a bit of an expedition to reach on foot from the city center.
Lukas R — Google review
Well setup museum in renovated factory buildings. In the archaeology museum, there are very informative displays on Hittite and classical periods, and some fantastic mosaics, all with signage that has decent English translations. Very helpful especially before a trip to Karatepe the day following our visit to the museum! Don't skip the industry and agriculture museums, they're very helpful to understand the more recent history of Adana, particularly the importance of cotton and citrus farming.
Diana H — Google review
A large and interesting museum. Worthy for international guests of Turkey. There are exhibits from ancient times to the modern history of this location. There is a huge collection of Greek and Byzantine mosaics. The entrance fee in 2024 for adults is 100 TL, free of charge according to the museum card.
Ramil K — Google review
Much like a previous reviewer has already said, this is one of the best I've seen and I've travelled a lot! And I, too, am surprised this is not more widely known and spoken about. What a wonderful wonderful museum complex. Incredible artefacts, super interesting descriptions, not too long, not too short, just the right amount of in-depth information in both Turkish and English. It's a spacious building with lots of room to roam and linger. The staff are really lovely and helpful. Adana and the entire region are incredibly rich in culture and history, it's a joy to learn about it. I'll be coming back - I've only seen part of the vast museum complex now. A gem in the world of museums. Well done, Adana!

The Great Clock Tower, completed in 1882, stands as a symbol of Adana's modernization. Located in the heart of the city's Old Town, it offers panoramic views and a glimpse into the city's rich heritage. The tower is surrounded by shops and cafes that make it a bustling meeting point for locals. Additionally, visitors can explore nearby historic sites such as the 16th century Great Mosque and enjoy leisurely strolls along the serene Seyhan River.
Büyük Saat (Great Clock Tower) in Adana is the tallest clock tower in Turkey, standing at 32 meters. Built in 1882 during the Ottoman period by Governor Abidin Pasha, it symbolizes the modernization efforts of the era. Constructed from bricks and cut stone, the tower features a large clock at the top, which still functions today. It is located in the heart of the city’s historical bazaar district, surrounded by shops and traditional markets. Büyük Saat remains a significant landmark and a popular tourist attraction, reflecting Adana’s rich history and architectural heritage.

If you are flying to Adana, take a cab to the clock tower and start your city center journey from here. I spent a couple of hours in this area until I had to take my bus to Mersin later in the afternoon. There are a lot of food options, souvenir shops, it’s really close to the old stone bridge. If you like walking it will take you around 15 minutes from here to visit Adana’s biggest mosque at the other side of the D-400. It’s supposed to be te biggest mosque between Istanbul and Saudi Arabia.

Built in 1882, the Historical Great Clock Tower, one of the oldest symbols of Adana, was built to notify the people of the region of the beginning of working hours and 5 times prayer times. As of 2024, the Historical Great Clock Tower, which is 142 years old, still preserves the splendor of the first day.

Atatürk Museum, situated on Seyhan Street in Adana, is a significant historical site named after Kemal Ataturk, the first president of Turkey. This museum holds great importance to the residents as it was once Ataturk's residence during his visits to Adana. The well-restored house showcases Ataturk's personal belongings and offers a glimpse into his life. Visitors can explore the rooms and admire the exhibits while enjoying the pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff.

The Adana Cinema Museum is a tribute to the city's contribution to Turkish cinema. Located near the city center, it showcases the works of directors, film actors, and producers from Adana across two floors. The ground floor displays movie posters while the upper floor features photos, posters, and personal belongings of Yilmaz Guney, a renowned figure in Turkish cinema.
A museum with an entrance fee of 17 TL, but cheaper for students and teachers. There are interesting things to see, especially several old cameras. I highly recommend a visit given the affordable and fair price.

(Translated by Google) The Museum, where the historical artifacts of Adana and the whole Çukurova are exhibited, was established in 1924, right after the proclamation of the Republic. Therefore, it is one of the ten oldest museums in Turkey. There are 17,071 archaeological artifacts and 26,547 coins in the museum. At the entrance of the Garden Museum, two Augustus statues from the Hittite period, brought from Kapı Arslan Silifke / Taşucu and Uzuncaburç, as well as richly garlanded sarcophagi, jars, catapult roses, inscriptions, altars and various architectural pieces are exhibited. The Ground Floor is the Stone Works Hall. The marble sarcophagus depicting the Trojan wars in high relief was brought from Tarsus. It is known as "Achilleus Sarcophagus". In addition, the Medusa Sarcophagus brought from the ancient city of Augusta in the Seyhan Dam Lake and the human-sized bronze statue of Karataş brought from the ancient city of Karataş / Magarsus are among the most popular works of this hall. (Original) Adana'nın ve bütün Çukurova'nın tarihi eserlerinin sergilendiği Müze, Cumhuriyetin ilanından hemen sonra 1924 yılında kurulmuştur. Bu nedenle Türkiye'nin en eski on müzesinden birisidir. Kifidis Büyüksaat Kebapçısı is a delightful culinary gem nestled in the heart of Adana, where traditional flavors meet modern flair. This polished restaurant offers a warm and stylish ambiance that perfectly complements its menu, showcasing classic dishes with an expert touch. As you savor their renowned liver kebab—tender and bursting with flavor—you'll also want to try the lahmacun, which is thin, crisp, and authentically prepared.
Almost the best lamp kebab I have ever eat. Short visit of Adana but it was worth to be here. Lots of appetizers salads, home made ayran. Be sure to call before you go there it is very crowded place. Definitely recommend!
Robert — Google review
I had a great experience at this restaurant in Adana. The liver kebab is outstanding — tender, flavorful, and cooked just right. On this visit I also tried the lahmacun, and it was excellent as well. Thin, crisp, and very traditional in style, exactly how it should be. What makes this place special is the balance. They prepare the classic dishes with real skill, while also offering their own modern interpretations that feel fresh without losing the essence of Adana’s cuisine. Both sides of the menu are done with the same level of care and quality. The design of the restaurant isn’t traditional, but that actually gives it a different vibe. At the end of the day, it’s the food that matters most, and here it truly delivers. Definitely worth a stop if you want both authentic flavors and a modern touch.
Serdar A — Google review
Service: a little slow but it wasn’t terrible because of the mezze and salads that come before the food Atmosphere: great design very classy and modern and clean Food: The liver is very nice and fresh. I recommend the hummus if you like hot mezze. The lahmacun is beautiful. The Adana is bit above average nothing special. Overall I recommend this place for tourists. Prices are really good too.

Foodies, do not miss this place. A must visit restaurant. Food is relishing and rich in flavour & aroma, sumptuous. The kebabs are a culinary delight, so do the other dishes. Experience it.
Sony S — Google review
Kebab is good enough but I can not say a special taste. Service is a bit weak. Not get why in 10 sitting table there was only 1 saltshaker??? Ayran was ridiculously salty. Just Humus was seriously good.
Cem C — Google review
Preparing a good dish doesn’t make you the best restaurant in town! And also serving the food faster or cleaning the tables quicker. Service does!! We enjoyed the meal, it was good, however we would like to have a drink with our meal, asked the beer selections they had and waiter seemed offended and get angry for no frikin’ reason. This is not the only restaurant to feed yourself in 100 miles radius, you can go in another one in 1 minute! If you don’t serve alcohol that’s fine, just say so. We’re there to eat food, not to blend in your beliefs or culture . That’s the last thing to do confronting a customer because of their dining questions or requests. Food may be good, but service is horrible and restaurant is extremely crowded and noisy with kids running around tables and jumping over chairs.. Also it is super overpriced for a piece of regular meat and a bread. Almost $50 for 2 dish!!! Crazy!! Not coming back again
Murat D — Google review
Kifidis greets you with friendly staff and beyond exceptional service. They start you off with their complimentary meze’s along with fresh bread. Food came out quick, however we especially asked that they took their time on the food which is normal in Turkey. The food came out back to back which was a little disappointing, along with one of our party members getting their food after the rest of us had finished up. Other than that, Kifidis had plenty of parking, an outdoor seating area for smokers along with a large amount of other amenities. This is a very high candidate for one of the best Adana Kebabs you can find in the city and I absolutely recommend everyone to go give it a try. Thank you Kifidis for the flattering experience.

Bebekli Church, also known as the church of Saint Paul, is a historic 19th-century church with a tiled roof and stunning stained glass windows. The architecture showcases high ceilings, graceful arches, and intricate stained glass designs. The church offers visitors a glimpse into the past with its rich historical texture. Atop the church stands a 2.5-meter bronze statue of the Virgin Mary, and daily ceremonies at 18:00 pm reflect the respect for different religions in Turkey.
This is only church remains in Adana. It was erected by 1909, as you see it is not ancient one. But has a lovely story. The lady who guide guests was so kind and helpful. I am glad to discover this place by accident.

Small Catholic Church. Make sure you plan your visit since there aren’t that many openings hours. It happened that coincidentally I got there at 2pm when they were going to open again, if I got there an hour later I probably would of have been disappointed and just wouldn’t had visited. Overall it’s ok, it’s always interesting to visit a church in Türkiye.

Such a beautiful church! My husband and I were lucky to have come across this place while vacationing in Adana and be greeted by Demet abla. She is a beautiful, kind soul that takes care of the church and welcomes all its guests. I highly recommend visiting and enjoying the gracefulness of the church 🙏 We will be happy to visit again.

Small traditional Catholic church. Nothing special. We weren't allowed to take photos inside. It's good as a pass-through landmark along a walking tour within central Adana

Was able to visit this beautiful church. A must visit in Adana.....
Julius C — Google review
It was beautiful however people have problems with timing so this is the latest visiting schedule.
Saghar B — Google review
I don’t understand the bad reviews because “the church was closed”. First of all the church being closed is government mandated, the church doesn’t regulate that. It doesn’t have a resident priest either so it’s very limited when they can be opened. The church has been in multiple attacks so there are cops regulating entry to church. The old lady that’s there doesn’t speak Turkish fully so she isn’t being rude. She just doesn’t understand you. Phones are never allowed in churches. Pictures are permitted. You are never allowed to speak in church, especially loudly. The review about “nothing pretty to look at”. This is a place of worship not a museum. The church isn’t built to look pretty for anyone. This church isn’t known for its artsy look but for its history. If you want a museum, visit somewhere else. People actually pray here and you need to respect it.

Emirgan Sütiş Park Zirve is a delightful destination for those looking to savor authentic Turkish tea and an array of delectable desserts. This charming venue stands out with its elegant, vintage ambiance that creates a unique dining experience. Guests rave about the beautifully presented treats, particularly the rich pistachio chocolate cake and flavorful Budapeste pasta.
Emirgan Sütiş Park Zirve is a great spot to enjoy Turkish tea and desserts. While this is a common chain in Turkey, this particular location feels special. The old-school, classy atmosphere adds charm and sets it apart. The desserts were beautifully presented and just as delicious. The pistachio chocolate cake stood out with its rich layers and crunchy pistachios, and the Budapeste pasta was light yet flavorful. The dessert display, featuring everything from tiramisu jars to chocolate brownies, was tempting and well-curated. The çay was perfectly brewed and paired nicely with the desserts, making it a simple yet satisfying experience. If you’re in the area, this location is worth visiting for its nostalgic ambiance and quality pastries :)
