Great beach and fantastic food, drinks available. The Coconuts and Pineapple drinks are delicious. Food is fresh and great service.

The view of the beach is nice and the toilets are clean. But the surrounding area and the beach itself could be much cleaner. I hope that the city will deal with it.

As far as public beaches go we really enjoyed it. Be careful by the rocks. There may be urchins. Few little waves which excite thr children. It is pleasant to watch the boats. There are a few food trucks about if you get peckish. They aren't the cheapest. We enjoyed that there were trees about for shade. Many locals bring lunch and set up a table and chairs for themselves... Which was very cute. Neat public toilets are there but take your own loo paper.

Amazing! Beautiful spot and very calm. The water is lukewarm and clean. Specially if you walk a bit to the left, it’s not really exploited. We loved it.

Nice tarquish blue water. Clam sea. Very good for swimming. You can hire a glass button boat and go deep into the sea to see corals and a variety of fishes. Lots of restaurants are there along the beach. We enjoyed this place.

Small but nice sandy town beach, busy with lots of boats and street food vendors. The area feels quite bohemian and fun.

Smaller beach that gets quite crowded o the weekend. You might want to visit on a weekday if possible. The public beach is in the Sunset shopping area so worth a trip there.

Beautiful beach with lot of food options nearby. Just ahead of Gloria there are stalls with options like Halim, Roti Dal Pori, Fried noodles, fried rice, ice cream, gato piment etc. Though its a small beach and has parking constraints yet its the cleanest and scenic for some amazing pictures.

This speech is definitely not our choice, it is too too loud and too busy for us. The water is also not as clear as we like it. Very funny, there were many lazy dogs, laying in the shadows of some trees.

Amazing sunset spot at Pereybere Beach — compact cove with calm, clear water that stays swimmable right up to golden hour, plus handy amenities just off the sand. Arrive 30–45 minutes before sunset to find roadside parking and a shady patch near the park; food trucks and cafés make it easy to grab snacks while waiting for the sky to turn orange‑pink. Families will appreciate the shallow, roped swimming area, showers and toilets; water shoes help for occasional coral or rocks. Nice beach with clear water and clean. Gets very busy on Sundays as local people spent the day having picnics in the area. Several food stalls near by with great food to have in the beach while sunbathing. It was a nice beach to spend few hours as soon as we landed in Mauritius. Free parking lot.

Nice beach with lovely white sand and less coral on entry to the water compared to a lot of other beaches in Mauritius. Rather small and gets quite busy and nothing on the beach in terms of sunbeds / restaurants etc but lots nearby. Lots of shade which is quite nice.

If you want to have the best snorkelling experience, walk to La pointe d’azur and snorkel following the rocks near the shore. You will find lovely corals, lots of marine life and we even saw a turtle! The beach in itself is nice with public parking and lots of cheap street food.

Nice public beach with some shade from the palm trees. Turquoise water and seem to be quite popular for french people. Completely safe to leave your bag and towel and go for a swim.

Beautiful slice of paradise. What stood out was how calm and still the water is. How I didn't see a single street vendor trying to - usually successfully - get me to buy things I don't need. Felt very safe. Seemed to be a beach used predominantly by locals. This place is quite local and I will back every chance I get!

Lovely long sandy beach, lined with trees and with a few snack places.

One of our favourites beaches in the North of Mauritius. Several parking lots along the beach but I consider the best around the middle as there are plenty of food stalls around. Not crowded, nice views, clean and crystal water. They also have several showers and toilets.

This is most happening place in Mauritius. It has multiple spots to sit and enjoy. Have washroom and changing facility. The beach is very long and gradient is also even. Not recommended foe snorkeling.

Free parking with access to the beach , along with shower and toilet facilities . Lots of parking , not aware of any security issues , and feels very safe . Access to the sea is simple and safe , be aware of the power boats , local fisherman and tourist cruisers - when swimming alway be aware of your surroundings ( speeds of these boats leaves no room for error if they do not see you ).

Favourite snorkel spot, right down the south end (park opposite dive spirit or near popo supermarket). Good variety just off shore, no boat trips necessary. You can swim to where they go in 2 mins. Crowded in the central part of the beach near car park. Wear water shoes and it's chilly in August

Trou aux Biches is a paradise in every sense of the word. Beyond the beauty of the setting, what made our stay unforgettable was the extraordinary service and care from the staff and management team. He made every moment by the beach even more special. Our butler Ibrahim went above and beyond to make us feel at home; his attention to detail and kindness truly elevated our stay. The management team made us feel like valued guests at every step, treating us with such attentiveness and care that we left feeling completely spoiled and cherished. The food was superb, the hospitality unmatched and the memories we made at Trou aux Biches will stay with us forever. This was an experience we will never forget, and we cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

Trou aux Biches Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Mauritius. The water is crystal clear and calm, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The white sandy shore is clean and great for relaxing with family. It’s an ideal spot for a peaceful beach day with stunning sunsets.

We spent hours in the water here - such a perfect beach to swim in! No shells or rocks to hurt your feet, just pure, pleasant water. And the color of the water? Azure blue and green as far as the eye can see. Simply stunning!

Grand Bazaar at Grand Baie has lots to offer. Make sure that you visit before 17:00. My rating could be more if I had more time to spend there. Worthwhile going there. Parking is a bit difficult though.

As someone who has visited Mauritius many times , its better to support the Bazar than overpriced Street guys and hawkers . Its not an air conditioned mall its a market and goods are fine as gifts .etc Best stall for Trainers ,sun glasses,jewellery, bags is just before the main entrance and the Buddha on the right side . Run by Anoushka so helpful and patient, we tried on several trainers etc and then bought quite a few bits . She is a kind natured lady not like some of the stall holders . Do support if you don't want to pay the ridiculous hotel gift shop price for the same goods . Thanks Anoushka all the best.

It's a great spot to browse and shop for souvenirs! There’s a wide variety of handmade items and clothing to choose from. The people are friendly and polite, making the experience even more enjoyable. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for unique keepsakes.

This is a great beach for families - it’s shallow, has soft sand, and the water is clear. The only down side for us was the number of hawkers trying to sell cheap gifts. Otherwise it’s a great place to chill and swim. Parking can be a little busy so come early if you are in a car. There are lots of boats for hire and scuba trips that leave from here so it’s quite lively with lots to see.

One of the finest beaches in the world. Long sweeping bay adorned with crystal clear waters plus the mountains are displayed in the background. There are a couple of nice restaurants you can try, including the Oak, and there are clean public facilities available at the centre of the beach with a number of local food stalls. Just stunning.

I probably would give a 4.5 stars but I’ll round up. The beach is nice and it has plenty of water sports to choose from at a reasonable price. The waters are relatively clear and you can see that lots and lots of people are doing water sports.

The weather at Belle Mare was horrible. Windy, clouds, rain. It was June and trade winds blowing . Took a taxi to Trou aux Biches and that's where the sun was hiding. There is wind but not like on the other side of the island. Sunbeds were expensive. Even though we paid for an expensive AI holiday in Belle Mare, we spent another £500 in taxi and sunbed charges for 5 days of warmer, sunnier, dryer weather at Trou aux biches

Good afternoon fox, me as a Mauritian people this is a place for tourists and a place for stuff. But I don't say for them too. Nice and cool environment but about a bit noisy. You have choices amongst choices what to do and what to buy. A place never stop for people on day time and afternoon. Yes you have to be vigilant too. This is a wonderful open shopping with direct summer holiday. Well is your choice what to ware or not. Pay attention thus place is not like European one but you have to ware properly and not to do provocation to others people please. Be respectful. A place not to be naked but all the religious visiting this environment so be human not dogs.

We did a fishing cruise today. Unfortunately we only caught one fish but we had a great time. Crew was amazing! Just: if you are out for 5h at least, they could serve a small Snack

Nice place in Grand Baie with private parking. Excellent Sauterel restaurant from french cuisine. Unfortunately, not all stores opened after Covid. And so the place appears deserted at the moment. I hope and wish this place and all the business in Grand Baie a speedy recovery from Covid.

Love this beach. It has terraces and plenty of benches as well as public toilets. There's plenty of shade as well as parking. You could sit here for hours but it isn't a swimmer's beach. My only gripe is that some of the benches need repair.

Had an amazing night till we checked our bill and find out that the cashier was adding drrinks we did not ordered and made us pay for it. Is it how u guys make more money?When asked for an explanation, she told she served us which was not the case. This place need to have staff which are in their senses and stop stealing us! Be more professional.

Shame on this place for having staffs that are not in their senses to work. You have a cashier that have no manner of talking nor even take up orders! Been there waiting for a long time because she was taking orders for her friends before us and chatting with them. On the good side we have had a good musical experience even on a low crowd monday. Place seemed alive with good music.

Amazing food and good live & dj ambiance on weekends But on the downside is that there are many drunk staff there who can't even do their job like the lady cashier who tried to swindle our money and act like nothing while security guys don't have manners to talk and privileges' certain people to smoke on the bar and us not...they even tried to make us pay drinks for them so as to get in... Hope you guys look into that matter cause apart from that we had a great time dancing and chilling... 06.09.25 update; great to see that you updated the security, did not see that long security guy who deals stuff there. But disappointment is that u guys still have a thief on cash counter. Paid an entrance and had a great musical experience but a poor service from the bar. Atmosphere was superb.

We only ate here once, but the lamb shank was huge and delicious and the burger was superb. The onion rings side was also huge and the acoustic guitar was a bonus. An easy bar to recommend

First time trying out the palm heart salad and it was amazing. The ambience and food were really good. The service was unfortunately very slow. We waited for some time to be acknowledged because the place doesn’t have a host at the entrance. The restaurant area is open and it started raining however they have some umbrellas that kind of help keep you dry. The live band sang so beautifully which helped in making the ambience a lot more special.

It seems nice on nice on face value, prices are fair for a touristy place workers seem nice but will profile you basing on race most likely trained by the Indian management ! If your black you will be asked to clear your bill the moment your served! Which is odd. Even you want to spend more you will just not! Actually some black and African tourists spend more than whites! If your someone of color and easily get upset by racial profiling avoid! As for me I stayed till closing time!

I originally signed up for a PADI Open Water course, then once I'd completed it, Alyssa talked me into doing the Advanced course as well, not that I needed any persuading. Bobby instructed me on both courses, and I couldn't praise his professionalism and tutelage highly enough. The centre is large and well equipped, with a range of dive equipment for all sizes. Unlike the other local centres it also has a briefing area with charts, changing rooms, and a coffee bar for post-dive relaxing and debrief. They have 2 boats, piloted by Jovany and Pascal, both proficient captains fully trained to deal with dive emergencies. All the dive staff are experienced and highly qualified in multiple disciplines, making this the perfect centre for someone wanting to learn to scuba dive, or someone wanting to upgrade their existing skillset. I can't wait to go back to get my Nitrox and Deep Diving qualifications.

Perfect welcoming with Patrick and Bob! They made me feel like home and really helped me to book 3 dives with Ocean Spirit! I dived with Bernard, whom is a great instructor. Really patient, a lot of knowledge about underwater species and might have a scanner in the eyes because he sees everything during dives. I can only recommend diving with Ocean Spirit regagdless of your level, you will be treated perfecly well!

Best experience ever on the Discover Scuba Diving Course! Neither my husband or I have ever scuba dived before but the initial training was fantastic and really put us at ease. Bernard was our main instructor but Nando was also on the dive instructing other divers, and both made us feel very safe and looked after. My husband and I both loved the dive and saw lots of different fish including a ribbon eel and rock fish which were both very cool! If we had more time in Mauritius we wouldn’t hesitate to book an open water diving course with Ocean Spirit. If you’re thinking of giving scuba diving a go, we would highly recommend Ocean Spirit!

After a short lesson with our PADI instructor, Nando, we went into the open sea — it was an incredible experience. He was extremely kind and an outstanding instructor! Thanks to him, we had one of the best moments of our honeymoon. We thought the dive would last about 30 minutes, but he let us stay underwater until our gas was nearly depleted — which made the experience even better. We also got some amazing photos from the dive. Because of the Ocean Spirit team, we now really, really, really want to go scuba diving again someday! Highly, highly recommended!!!!

Super warm, friendly and highly knowledgeable team at ocean spirit. They were patient and courteous at all times. Had a fantastic experience snorkeling and a few dives as well. A beautiful location with views of no less than 5 islands. Unfortunately, the beach is small, and the sea is not for bathing due to the strong currents at this point. If you are a photographer, then you will capture some great photographs.

Beautiful beach that was deserted when we visited. Not too easy to find as you need to head down an alley between houses. Sea is less suitable for young ones as it can be a bit exposed and therefore choppy.

Those who live there closed this open public beach with their big house and build around a fence!! There looking suspiciously for the bathing people’s, not friendly…! They’re act like you’re pissing in their garden. But normally it’s a public beach ! Locals said they’re closed in during the Covid.. And they have money the do whatever they want to. 😒 You need to climb a lot of rock to get there, but it worth it.. some of they don’t like but they can’t say a word. It’s little too rocky not that sandy beach.. But if you want snorkel it’s the perfect place.

We stayed here for 4 weeks with the family (kids of 3 and 1 years) and had a great time. The staff is very friendly, everything clean, great food!

Busy with boats parked up who play offensively loud music and parts of the beach are private and the locals don't want people there. Lots of fisherman with lines in the water which make it harder for swimming and we found discarded fishing equipment with rusty hooks on the beach, so dangerous for kids.

One of the rare beaches on Mauritius, which is not occasionally overpopulated by noisy tourists. It is difficult to get to the beach from the street, but I think in this case, it is an advantage. It is actually possible to have a bit of privacy.

Very bad experience...club entry fee is too expensive...ignroing tht fact we have paid quite a good amount for the entry , we noticed and experienced very bad and aggressive behaviour of the staffs. It was like once we finished our purchase, the staff took the upper hand and exhibited a third class pathetic behaviour. OMG CLUB NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL

Would not recommend this place, jagerbomb = 500 rupees. They remove you off tables whenever they feel like it, with absolutely no regard or politeness. Overall music wasn’t great either. Skip this and head to insomnia

A wonderfully calm and peaceful beach juxtaposing this very busy area of Grand Baie. It is particularly quiet early in the mornings and furnished with two excellent bars/restaurants. A real treasure!

I visited the Grand Baie Beach with my wife and it was a beautiful experience. The beach is very clean, lots of fun activities and we cruised on a glass bottom boat. I loved the whole adventure.

The beach is lovely. Clear and warm water, and roped off bathing area. A few inexpensive food trucks to get a bite or drink.

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights, which we went to upon the recommendation of a friend. The hotel is in a perfect location. Everything you need is within walking distance. There is a nice Greek restaurant right in front of the door entrance, the departure port of the indispensable Catamaran trip for a Mauritius holiday, a large supermarket for shopping 8 minutes walking distance, a small beach just across the road but 10 minutes walking distance to La Cuvette Beach, a bus stop 2 minutes away if you want to travel by public bus, a taxi stand just across the road, nightclubs 6 minutes walking distance, and many more restaurants, cafes and bars suitable for different tastes. In such a central location, a clean, hygienic and beautifully decorated room where you wake up to the sounds of birds, every detail has been considered, the room doors are entered with a password, so you do not have to carry a key on holiday. There are many needs in the room such as a safe, iron, kitchenware to cook and eat, kettle, microwave oven, stove, capsule coffee machine, very good internet, a nice TV where you can watch Netflix, YouTube and Amazon, towels. The area where the hotel is located is entered with an external door, so you can feel isolated and safe, and there are areas in the garden where you can enjoy yourself. We brought food to our room for the preparations last night and we were able to spend time in the room without getting bored. All the employees are very smiling, always interested in your needs and never fail to greet you with respect. Jabir, who was always on the other end of the phone, was very helpful and kind at every point we needed during our holiday. We were very happy to spend this holiday in this hotel. We genuinely enjoyed our stay here, the room interior is so cute and vibrant, everything is new, clean, and tidy. I’m very picky on hotels but I had good sleep at dodo square. The host is very helpful and responsive. Location is great too just right next to the grand baie, so most excursion departure spot is within 5min walk from dodo square. Very close to super U which is a huge supermarket. nearby areas u got bars, restaurants, and shops too. I’d recommend dodo square to my friends and family when they visit Mauritius too! :)

Rooms are great, fantastic host. Very comfortable and convenient location. Surprisingly quiet for being so close to the main street.

We had a phenomenal stay at Dodo Square! Jabir and the team were super responsive and made sure our experience was seamless and stress-free from start to finish. Location is perfect (right in the heart of Grand Baie) and the accommodation itself beautifully renovated and well-equipped for a comfortable stay. Daily housekeeping was unexpected but so appreciated! Plenty of parking nearby also. I’d Dodo Square to anyone!
