Located on the north-west coast of Mauritius, La Cuvette Public Beach is a popular spot near the tourist town of Grand Baie. It attracts many tourists from Grand Baie looking to enjoy a relaxing day under the sun. The beach is often frequented by locals for picnics and leisure time by the ocean. With clear waters and no coral reefs, it offers a picturesque setting.
Beautiful small beach, awesome sunset setting. Careful, there are plenty of rocks in the seemingly clearer section of the water, and the algae is normal for Jan period. Breathtaking sunsets
Ebrahim A — Google review
Great beach and fantastic food, drinks available. The Coconuts and Pineapple drinks are delicious. Food is fresh and great service.
Attie H — Google review
The view of the beach is nice and the toilets are clean. But the surrounding area and the beach itself could be much cleaner. I hope that the city will deal with it.
Sebastian W — Google review
As far as public beaches go we really enjoyed it. Be careful by the rocks. There may be urchins. Few little waves which excite thr children. It is pleasant to watch the boats. There are a few food trucks about if you get peckish. They aren't the cheapest. We enjoyed that there were trees about for shade. Many locals bring lunch and set up a table and chairs for themselves... Which was very cute. Neat public toilets are there but take your own loo paper.
Piccolo S — Google review
Great cozy small beach with the best sand and nice food opportunities. We had food at Mimi snack bar and it was delicious
Adriána K — Google review
Amazing! Beautiful spot and very calm. The water is lukewarm and clean. Specially if you walk a bit to the left, it’s not really exploited. We loved it.

Grand Baie Public Beach is a picturesque and compact beach located in the charming seaside town of Grand Baie in the northern part of Mauritius. It offers stunning landscapes, pristine white beaches, crystal clear waters, and vibrant coral reefs. The beach is popular for its lively nightlife, bustling shopping scene, and choice of restaurants and bars. Despite being a central area for tourists, it provides a relaxing spot with calm waters.
What a beautiful beach! The azure blue and green waters stretch as far as the eye can see. We even spotted stingrays in the evening - such a cool experience!
Paulomi R — Google review
Nice tarquish blue water. Clam sea. Very good for swimming. You can hire a glass button boat and go deep into the sea to see corals and a variety of fishes. Lots of restaurants are there along the beach. We enjoyed this place.
Samir S — Google review
Small but nice sandy town beach, busy with lots of boats and street food vendors. The area feels quite bohemian and fun.
Sam V — Google review
Smaller beach that gets quite crowded o the weekend. You might want to visit on a weekday if possible. The public beach is in the Sunset shopping area so worth a trip there.
Ruru M — Google review
Such a beautiful beach , very lively and bustling in the evenings
Dipanjan R — Google review
Beautiful bay- full of boats and a small swimming area. Lots of trinket and artisan shops nearby.
Ranjana C — Google review
Public beach next to very busy nightlife business area..so weekend nights is it very crowded. So if you want to enjoy the this beach ..come during the day. You'll get to see the beautiful view. There is enough parking and lots of different restaurants. So a very good place to visit.
Manukumar M — Google review
Beautiful beach with lot of food options nearby. Just ahead of Gloria there are stalls with options like Halim, Roti Dal Pori, Fried noodles, fried rice, ice cream, gato piment etc. Though its a small beach and has parking constraints yet its the cleanest and scenic for some amazing pictures.

Beach
Pereybere Public Beach is a bustling and stunning destination backed by shady trees, offering activities like swimming, sunbathing, kayaking, and picnicking. It's located within the Grand Baie area, providing easy access to amenities and accommodations. Visitors can also explore nearby attractions such as the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden or take a local bus to visit islands like Ile Plate, Ile aux Cerfs, or Ile aux Gabriel.
Stunning small beach. Calm, clean, easy parking. Some snorkeling around the rocks by the left but not great visibility or variety.
Duncan A — Google review
This speech is definitely not our choice, it is too too loud and too busy for us. The water is also not as clear as we like it. Very funny, there were many lazy dogs, laying in the shadows of some trees.
J&J F — Google review
Amazing sunset spot at Pereybere Beach — compact cove with calm, clear water that stays swimmable right up to golden hour, plus handy amenities just off the sand. Arrive 30–45 minutes before sunset to find roadside parking and a shady patch near the park; food trucks and cafés make it easy to grab snacks while waiting for the sky to turn orange‑pink. Families will appreciate the shallow, roped swimming area, showers and toilets; water shoes help for occasional coral or rocks. Tip: for snorkelling, try the left side rocks earlier in the day, then settle in for sunset.
RK — Google review
Nice beach with clear water and clean. Gets very busy on Sundays as local people spent the day having picnics in the area. Several food stalls near by with great food to have in the beach while sunbathing. It was a nice beach to spend few hours as soon as we landed in Mauritius. Free parking lot.
Inmaculada D — Google review
Nice beach with lovely white sand and less coral on entry to the water compared to a lot of other beaches in Mauritius. Rather small and gets quite busy and nothing on the beach in terms of sunbeds / restaurants etc but lots nearby. Lots of shade which is quite nice.
Ruben B — Google review
If you want to have the best snorkelling experience, walk to La pointe d’azur and snorkel following the rocks near the shore. You will find lovely corals, lots of marine life and we even saw a turtle! The beach in itself is nice with public parking and lots of cheap street food.
Laure C — Google review
Nice public beach with some shade from the palm trees. Turquoise water and seem to be quite popular for french people. Completely safe to leave your bag and towel and go for a swim.
Krasimira V — Google review
Beautiful slice of paradise. What stood out was how calm and still the water is. How I didn't see a single street vendor trying to - usually successfully - get me to buy things I don't need. Felt very safe. Seemed to be a beach used predominantly by locals. This place is quite local and I will back every chance I get!

Mont Choisy Beach, situated on the north-western coast of Mauritius, offers a serene and secluded escape for beach enthusiasts. Despite its proximity to the bustling city of Grand Baie, this long stretch of white sandy beach is surrounded by lush greenery, providing a tranquil atmosphere for visitors. The clear turquoise waters are perfect for swimming and various water sports such as kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding.
Love the pine trees along the beach! plenty sunlight and plenty shade. Great picnic spot! Clean, lots of people but not crowded. Awesome Sunset spot! Definitely my Choice in all of Mauritius!
Bupe C — Google review
One of the best beaches for swimming! It can get a bit crowded, but it's a great chance to experience how the locals spend their time. Many come here for picnics, which adds to the fun and lively atmosphere.
Paulomi R — Google review
Amazing sunset spot at Mont Choisy Beach — long curved bay, calm water, and casuarina trees for shade make it easy to linger until golden hour. The sky puts on a show with orange‑pink hues reflecting on glassy water; arrive 30–45 minutes before sunset to find parking and a quiet patch of sand. Weekdays feel relaxed; weekends are lively with locals, street food stands, and watersports. Tip: bring a picnic, water shoes for occasional coral bits, and a camera for those final 10 minutes of light.
RK — Google review
Mont Choisy Beach in Mauritius is an absolute gem, offering visitors a perfect blend of natural beauty, tranquility, and crystal-clear waters. The beach stretches out over a wide area, with soft white sand and calm, shallow waters that are perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Whether you're looking to relax under the warm sun or take a leisurely stroll along the shoreline, the beach’s serene atmosphere makes it ideal for unwinding. The surrounding lush greenery and swaying palm trees add to the idyllic setting, creating a peaceful escape from the bustle of everyday life. The beach is also relatively less crowded compared to other spots in Mauritius, offering a more intimate and relaxed experience. In addition to its beauty, Mont Choisy Beach is well-maintained, and the local facilities, including restrooms and nearby eateries, are convenient for visitors. The gentle waves and clear waters make it an excellent spot for families, couples, and anyone looking to enjoy the natural wonders of Mauritius. Overall, Mont Choisy Beach is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Mauritius, offering a picturesque and peaceful retreat that will leave you with unforgettable memories.

Beautiful beach and some good food trucks are also available Sunsets are not to be missed!
Rohit R — Google review
Lovely long sandy beach, lined with trees and with a few snack places.
Elaine S — Google review
One of our favourites beaches in the North of Mauritius. Several parking lots along the beach but I consider the best around the middle as there are plenty of food stalls around. Not crowded, nice views, clean and crystal water. They also have several showers and toilets.
Inmaculada D — Google review
This is most happening place in Mauritius. It has multiple spots to sit and enjoy. Have washroom and changing facility. The beach is very long and gradient is also even. Not recommended foe snorkeling.

Trou aux Biches Beach is a picturesque coastal spot located in the north of Mauritius. This former fishing village boasts a one-mile stretch of stunning silver-tinged sand, making it one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. The beach is known for its clear turquoise waters, perfect for snorkeling and various water sports such as water skiing, scuba diving, and parasailing.
Simply the best beach on the island. Clear crystal waters, great for snorkelling and swimming, plus a superb white sand beach which goes on for miles. There are toilets and a few restaurants dotted about, as well as a supermarket in walking distance. Its only slight downfall is the lack of parking.
Monty M — Google review
Free parking with access to the beach , along with shower and toilet facilities . Lots of parking , not aware of any security issues , and feels very safe . Access to the sea is simple and safe , be aware of the power boats , local fisherman and tourist cruisers - when swimming alway be aware of your surroundings ( speeds of these boats leaves no room for error if they do not see you ).
John C — Google review
Beautiful beach with public access. Each beach seems to have a care taker that looks after the toilets and beach area making it very clean. Good car parking area.
Pam D — Google review
Favourite snorkel spot, right down the south end (park opposite dive spirit or near popo supermarket). Good variety just off shore, no boat trips necessary. You can swim to where they go in 2 mins. Crowded in the central part of the beach near car park. Wear water shoes and it's chilly in August
Duncan A — Google review
The best beach I've ever been on. White sand, crystal clear water and perfect at sunset.
Lucy N — Google review
Trou aux Biches is a paradise in every sense of the word. Beyond the beauty of the setting, what made our stay unforgettable was the extraordinary service and care from the staff and management team. Every interaction was filled with a warmth and attentiveness that surpassed our expectations. Special thanks to Rambo at the beach bar, who spoiled us with such warmth and generosity. He made every moment by the beach even more special. Our butler Ibrahim went above and beyond to make us feel at home; his attention to detail and kindness truly elevated our stay. The management team made us feel like valued guests at every step, treating us with such attentiveness and care that we left feeling completely spoiled and cherished. The food was superb, the hospitality unmatched and the memories we made at Trou aux Biches will stay with us forever. This was an experience we will never forget, and we cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

Trou aux Biches Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Mauritius. The water is crystal clear and calm, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The white sandy shore is clean and great for relaxing with family. It’s an ideal spot for a peaceful beach day with stunning sunsets.

We spent hours in the water here - such a perfect beach to swim in! No shells or rocks to hurt your feet, just pure, pleasant water. And the color of the water? Azure blue and green as far as the eye can see. Simply stunning!

Solar Sea Walk Undersea walk Ltd offers guided walks on the sea floor using diving helmets, providing opportunities to observe tropical fish and coral. Located in Mauritius, known for its stunning blue beaches and luxury resorts with breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean, visitors can enjoy beachside activities and water sports. Reviews highlight the informative guides who ensure safety and happiness throughout the experience, as well as the incredible underwater views surrounded by diverse marine life.
What a fantastic experience overall. The “Captain” is friendly and puts you at ease, answering all questions before you even ask them. The experience provided is very safe and they are very well polished at the entire thing. Loved it. They do film for you…the filming is very rough around the edges however. Our copy had the incorrect date overlaid in the top left of the video. And it is quite expensive for the footage (about £25 where the only option is for them to supply the usb stick). I brought my own GoPro so was able to capture some amazing footage of my own.
Darren A — Google review
Giving them 3.5/5 (updated from 1/5) because of the way they handled things after the activity was postponed due to weather. Long story short: if you are a foreigner make sure you are able to stay at least 4 more days so that maybe they can reschedule you, that you can personally collect your refund or insist that they deliver it to your hotel, since they do not have a system in place for these situations. And insist on communication with them, since their whatsapp has automatic responses and a real person may take a while before they answer. It's been such a long story that I feel like giving up on my refund. Detailed: I paid in cash in advance (came in person). They could not reschedule me in the days I had left on the island so I had to ask for a refund via whatsapp as the cost I had to pay to come in person outmatched my advanced payment. The communication was very heavy, I often had to insist that they answer and each time I received a message that they were investigating and what not. They just gave me answers that refunding me on my credit card (no mauritian currency) cost them too much. I suggested them on my revolut (mauritian currency) but they said they don't have any (i don't see why anyone couldn't have done it even if the owner had done it personally). I even suggested that they paid me by card the amount remaining after their taxes and they said I would only receive 30% so it was not ok. After months of back-and-forths they said they would deliver the money cash by poste. They gave me a proof that they handed something over to Mauritius Poste and my details, but they have not followed up. It's been a year and I have never received any sign from the post or an update from them. I've never had such a bad experience anywhere, a company should have measures in place for such situation as it is not client's business what costs are incurred by the company. I felt robbed and I really looked forward to this experience, especially since tourists pay more (understandable, but again, the surcharge should cover such cases)(see update 3). Update: I wrote them to ask to follow up and told them I would be vocal about this situation, I will update this comment in case the situation is fixed. Update 2: the whatsapp number that I conversed with has the exact address and information as here and there is no one else providing this service, so there is no way I am mistaking the company. Update 3: after all this they talked to the Mauritian poste and obtained proof that the package reached my country, but was returned. The tracking number does not work and I have never heard from my poste, but this must be a logistics issue not entirely Solar Sea Walk's fault.
DianaAngela C — Google review
Great experience overall even if the helmets you wear look like they are made from old TVs. Booking was mostly straight-forward via website / email confirmation but the person who answers the emails doesn’t work in the booth and they don’t seem to communicate as booked via email, paid in person only to be emailed later informing me the session confirmed without payment was now full. Anyway minor admin issue, session was had as expected and it was great. Everyone involved was super friendly and helpful, even with a couple of divers who were a little afraid. 15-20 mins underwater goes by in no time but whole thing is efficiently organised with no-one holding anyone up changing etc
Sam V — Google review
Amazing experience. Very helpful team. Worth the time and money. Safe and unique activity. Must try. You get to walk under water and interact with colourful fishes. Wear your swimsuit. Water shoes are given, you can also use your own. Activity costed 2000MUR per person (August 2025). And the whole group’s underwater video is given in a USB Drive if needed (1500MUR for everyone’s video together). Advance booking is definitely needed. Due to sea conditions, activity does not take place everyday. I booked slots over WhatsApp and paid directly on the day of the activity. Highly recommended.

2021 review Had a remarkable under water walking experience with Solar Sea Walk. All the guides were very informative and made sure we were happy and safe throughout the activity. The views under water were astounding and we were surrounded by all varieties of fishes. Definitely highly recommend. 2023 review Went again in November 2023!! Just as brilliant as the first time. Team were quick and efficient with the work, explaining the procedure, how the whole thing works in French English AND German!! Still very diverse sealife in the water, also managed to see a sea turtle and lion fishes which were incredible! Still highly recommend.
Aditee S — Google review
Experience of a lifetime! I’ll definitely do it again. You’ll get a cool go-pro video undersea at a reasonable cost! They’ll prep you for the experience- all you need to do is know how to walk 🤣!
Tanya N — Google review
A great experience all round. My other half doesn't/can't swim, so approached this with trepidation! She had no need to worry - it was well organised & everything was explained clearly in French & English. There are several guides who stay with you the whole time so there's little or no risk at all. Once down the ladder on the side of the boat, the guides 'guide' you down to the sea bed where you can wander around under their careful watchful eyes. It feels akin to what i would imagine walking on the moon is a bit like. The guides give you bread & the fish come swarming around - pretty amazing! (don't worry there's aren't any really big ones & definitely no sharks!). All in all we were under water for about half an hour & felt totally safe the whole time. Brilliant fun

Pointe d'Azur is a stunning peninsula near Pereybere Beach, offering breathtaking bay views to the West and a beautiful beachy shore. It's recommended to walk down Pointe d'Azur Dr due to limited space for cars and rough road conditions. The area is popular for fishing, with locals often spotted here throughout the day.

The Catamaran excursion for Gabriel and Flat Islands was amazing!!! The weather that day was pretty windy but the captains were very professional in navigating the waves and currents. Best part was the delicious and unlimited food and drinks! Will definitely book with them again 💙
Lina Y — Google review
I visited Blue Safari in Mauritius and it was an amazing experience! The lady who welcomed us gave a clear and detailed explanation of everything. The whole crew was friendly, and the submarine captain was polite and calm — he explained everything we saw underwater. We spotted dolphins, a turtle, and many types of fish. The underwater ride lasted around 45 minutes, and the whole experience took about 1 hour and 10 minutes. Highly recommended if you’re looking for something unique and refreshing!
Abdulaziz S — Google review
We visited Blue Safari Submarines with our family and had an absolutely wonderful time. The logistics were smooth from the start. Parking was easy; they have space for a few cars inside and plenty of parking available just outside their premises. The team was professional and ran the entire process efficiently. We were given an initial briefing before a ferry took us out to the main platform. There, we received a second, clear briefing on the dos and don'ts before boarding the submarine one by one. The submarine itself seats ten passengers plus the captain. While it is a small space (as expected!), we didn't find it to be uncomfortable at all. The dive reaches a maximum depth of 35 meters and the view is spectacular. We were thrilled to watch the vibrant undersea life, including beautiful corals, schools of fish, and a few turtles, and also got a close look at a shipwreck. To top it all off, they provide a certificate confirming that you've made the dive in a real submarine—a great souvenir! The entire Blue Safari team was highly professional and helpful, and all instructions were very clear. We felt completely safe throughout the whole trip and would recommend this as a safe and unique experience for both adults and children. A must-do!
Awhan M — Google review
The submarine tour didn’t meet my expectations — perhaps I was expecting too much. I couldn’t see colorful corals or fish; everything looked mostly blue, white, and a bit blurry. Maybe the glass windows weren’t very clean. It was my first experience, though, so overall I still felt it was a worthwhile trip.

A Truly Relaxing and Memorable Experience with Blue Safari’s Southern Catamaran Cruise Blue Safari’s Southern Catamaran Cruise was the perfect blend of leisure, scenic beauty, and top-notch hospitality. From start to finish, everything was exceptionally well-organized. The online booking process was smooth and hassle-free, and the booking team patiently answered all my queries over WhatsApp—something I truly appreciated. On the day of the cruise, we were warmly welcomed by the Blue Safari team at Pointe des Régates in Mahébourg. A quick speedboat transfer brought us to the beautiful catamaran, where our journey began at 9:30 AM. We were greeted with a cheerful welcome and a helpful tour briefing by our lovely host, Rose. The cruise was led by Captain Jack and his wonderful four-member crew, who ensured we were comfortable and well taken care of throughout. We were a small, friendly group—two families and a few couples—which made the experience feel even more personal. Our first stop was a snorkelling session, and I was thrilled to see my daughter try it for the first time. The crew was incredibly encouraging and made the moment extra special. As we sailed through the stunning blue-green waters, drinks flowed freely, and we found ourselves completely immersed in the tranquillity of the sea. Rose shared interesting facts about the nearby lighthouse and surroundings, adding a thoughtful touch to the journey. Next, we hopped on a speedboat to visit the breathtaking GRSE waterfall—a highlight of the trip. Back on the catamaran, we were treated to a delicious barbecue lunch. Relaxing on the deck with the sea breeze and panoramic views was simply mesmerising. By 2 PM, we reached the picturesque Île aux Cerfs, where we enjoyed a refreshing swim in the shallow turquoise waters. The island was well-equipped with facilities like showers, changing rooms, beach chairs, and cozy shack restaurants. After an hour of island time, we returned to the catamaran for a delightful tea and coffee session accompanied by freshly baked cake and soft background music. As rain clouds began to roll in, the team ensured we got back to the starting point safely by 4 PM. Every aspect of the cruise was thoughtfully planned and executed. A special thanks to Rose, whose warmth and hospitality made us feel completely at home. This was truly an experience of a lifetime—spending quality time with family, disconnected from the digital world, surrounded by serene waters and breathtaking views. Highly recommend this day cruise if you’re visiting Mauritius! Be sure to check their website for more cruise options based on your location—there’s something for everyone.

Very expensive for the type of experience. It's not worth more than 2000-3000 rupees/ person. Speaker system inside the submarine is useless, all one hears is mumbling from the pilot steering and posing as a tour guide. Otherwise one gets a short shuttle boat ride to the submarine. Shipwreck can be viewed. The experience is recommended but negotiate for the right price.

We did underwater submarine. What an amazing experience. The pilot Damien was brilliant trying his best to give us the best experience . I have read some reviews commenting on it being expensive. Maintaining and running the submarine is expensive itself.

If you're seeking an unforgettable underwater adventure in Mauritius, look no further than Ocean Spirit Scuba Diving. With top-notch equipment provided, including wetsuits and air tanks, divers can explore the stunning marine life and vibrant coral reefs of Grand Baie. Whether you’re a seasoned diver or just starting out, Ocean Spirit caters to all skill levels with tailored courses and guided tours.
We highly recommend Ocean Spirit. Decided to take our PADI Open Water whilst on holiday. The entire team are a happy friendly bunch and super helpful and patient. Patrick our diving instructor had the patience of a saint, Thank you!! Giovanni our boat captain was always on hand to help and encourage, and always with a smile! I had done research before coming out on holiday and after careful consideration we chose Ocean Spirit. They did not disappoint! Knowledgeable, professional and friendly. At the end of the course we felt like part of the Ocean Spirit family.

I originally signed up for a PADI Open Water course, then once I'd completed it, Alyssa talked me into doing the Advanced course as well, not that I needed any persuading. Bobby instructed me on both courses, and I couldn't praise his professionalism and tutelage highly enough. The centre is large and well equipped, with a range of dive equipment for all sizes. Unlike the other local centres it also has a briefing area with charts, changing rooms, and a coffee bar for post-dive relaxing and debrief. They have 2 boats, piloted by Jovany and Pascal, both proficient captains fully trained to deal with dive emergencies. All the dive staff are experienced and highly qualified in multiple disciplines, making this the perfect centre for someone wanting to learn to scuba dive, or someone wanting to upgrade their existing skillset. I can't wait to go back to get my Nitrox and Deep Diving qualifications.

Perfect welcoming with Patrick and Bob! They made me feel like home and really helped me to book 3 dives with Ocean Spirit! I dived with Bernard, whom is a great instructor. Really patient, a lot of knowledge about underwater species and might have a scanner in the eyes because he sees everything during dives. I can only recommend diving with Ocean Spirit regagdless of your level, you will be treated perfecly well!

Best experience ever on the Discover Scuba Diving Course! Neither my husband or I have ever scuba dived before but the initial training was fantastic and really put us at ease. Bernard was our main instructor but Nando was also on the dive instructing other divers, and both made us feel very safe and looked after. My husband and I both loved the dive and saw lots of different fish including a ribbon eel and rock fish which were both very cool! If we had more time in Mauritius we wouldn’t hesitate to book an open water diving course with Ocean Spirit. If you’re thinking of giving scuba diving a go, we would highly recommend Ocean Spirit!

First time diving had a great experience with the discover diving course. Group size of 3 total and had 1 instructor to two people. They were friendly and patient with us and demonstrated good knowledge and kept it simple. Booking was easy and Communication with the centre was great. Thanks Patrick, yo, and Bernard!

한국분덜도 강추함미다! We went scuba diving for the first time in our lives during our honeymoon in Mauritius! After a short lesson with our PADI instructor, Nando, we went into the open sea — it was an incredible experience. He was extremely kind and an outstanding instructor! Thanks to him, we had one of the best moments of our honeymoon. We thought the dive would last about 30 minutes, but he let us stay underwater until our gas was nearly depleted — which made the experience even better. We also got some amazing photos from the dive. Because of the Ocean Spirit team, we now really, really, really want to go scuba diving again someday! Highly, highly recommended!!!!

Super warm, friendly and highly knowledgeable team at ocean spirit. They were patient and courteous at all times. Had a fantastic experience snorkeling and a few dives as well. The captain, Jovany, is very helpful at all times and extremely experienced with the boat to the various dive sites. We are very happy to have chosen them for our underwater experiences. We highly recommend them for all your training and diving needs.

This casino is by far the worst casino for poker. What makes is terrible is 2 things. Absolutly worthless florman which cannot even confirm a reservation or answer a message. He would reply for a few messages but later will ignore your followup questions. See attached history chat. Once i made a reservation he didnt confirm and when i came it was there but not for the table i ordered so i left. Time wasted, is that really that hard to answer or confirm a reservation? Second thing the tables. I have never seen such filthy and old tables. Its a casino, they make money on cash tables, how can they be like this? The chips are so sticky when u lift them they stick together like overcooked pasta. They have only 2 tables for cash that are normal hight. The rest of the tables when there are more people are like bar stools and my back was killing me after 2 hours. Most casinoes have their best tables for the cash games with better chairs and usb chargers… not here. Yet they have super new tables for tournaments. 😳 Playerswise its not bad. Alot of bad local players who just gamble. Money changes hands quick. Some tourists on vacation making it rain. On a good night u could forget all the negative. The dealers count the pot for rakes after showdown which i find crazy. Normaly they count in their head mid game. This make the hands longer…
Gen E — Google review
I came out to Mauritius specifically for their African Series Of Poker event, a festival they appear to be holding in various guises some 2-3 times each year. The event itself was well run though there’s a few unusual practices I’ve never seen anywhere else in the world at poker events. There’s around 20 tables so they can cope with a reasonable amount of players too. But most importantly the dealers knew what they were doing and didn’t get flustered (apart from one solitary incident), the floor managers were accurate in decisions, the service staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was very good quality and relatively cheap. The other players were mostly quite friendly and quick to give advice regarding things to do/see in Mauritius and seemed surprised that I had flown here from England just for the poker event. All in all I’d recommend coming out here for any ASOP event in the future if you want to combine poker with a beautiful island holiday. I believe they also hold events on the nearby Reunion island too but I can’t seem to find information on that.

The interior architecture of Masjid Ronaq-Ul-Islam Sunnee is impressive, offering ample space. However, it tends to get crowded during Jumm'ah prayers as both residents and those working in the area attend. The mosque is well-maintained by the masjid society, although improvements are needed for the women's section. Thobes are provided for those who require them during prayer. Overall, it is a peaceful place with excellent parking facilities.
Place for worshipping almighty Allah. There a place for prayer for ladies also .Best and we'll maintained Masjid .Best management for parking vehicles of namazies.
DIAMOND — Google review
There's on site parking. There's additional parking across the road in Fridays with the Police controlling traffic and crossing the road. Masjid appears smaller on the inside than it looks from outside. They have ladies section, but it's off no use as there is no speakers, so they cannot join the Jummah salah. I have read reviews posted months ago complaining of same issue but nothing done about it. The khutba before the khutba was in creole, and the actual khutba was in Arabic, so noisy people didn't understand me the khutba. Otherwise, it's a nice comfortable space to pray. They have provide thubs for men wearing shorts.
Azizul G — Google review
Both men and ladies can pray there. Love this easily accessible ladies prayer room when we're in the north. Just opposite the seaside near to the police station of grand baie, has parking for those who come for prayers. Quiet place which allows you to resource and reconnect.

The best sunnee mosque in Grand Baie! Just opposite there's a church and the collaboration between the two places of worship is awesome! It's a glimpse of cohabitation in Mauritius 🇲🇺!
Nazim A — Google review
Had a beautiful jumuah experience. The imam spoke a little English in his lecture, and Creole. He managed to make an impact with his message even though I didn't speak the language, I managed to understand. الحمد لله. 🤲🏼
Ubeid M — Google review
Nice. Unfortunately, there is no speaker on female side, and we cannot hear anything from the prayer. I will give 5 stars when they install a sound system on women's side. Also, for some reason the ladies' toilet was locked from the inside and could not be accessed.
N L — Google review
The Imaam, Moulana Muazim, has introduced some English in the lecture /sermon to address the international ummah in attendance. ❤️ Also, extra / excess parking, especially for Jumaah Salaah, had been arranged at the Church across the road, from the Masjid.

The casino offers a lively atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for late-night fun. Additionally, the area is known for its beautiful islands like Gunners Quoin, Flat Island, and Gabriels Island, which are perfect for catamaran day tours.
It was a great place to go after late dinner! Had a great time at the roulette. Staff members were professionals, especially the gentleman serving drinks. Will definitely return! I won a little sum!

The most Terrible casino ever , dont go there .I was playing on the roulette with my Wife another man From mauritius came to play i left to go to the machine and give him a place to play . My wife remain to play the roulette . I dont know what happened and this guy was telling my wife that he will beat her up as I could not stand his rudeness of saying this is mauritius and not your coutry here man beat women , i almost kill him for his rudeness and ignorance but the securities separate us , the casino open other teble ask us to go play there we tefused and left because we felt like the casino didn't take the right decision to kick anyone with this bad behavior in the casion , some how we felt like the casion encourage these behavior because the casino should be about entertainment with respect of all people . So my experience there was terrible,I won't return and I won't recommend anyone to go there .

Security asked me for ID on the door and I was very surprised by this and provided him with my ID and then i asked him if this was normal practice as I saw a bunch of people get in without him requesting ID. He told me not to show him how to do his job and looked very disgruntled. Casino of Pailles is much better!
Muzaffar L — Google review
Would not recommend this place ! I kicked off there as the staffs are so rude, cocky and unfriendly , I already had bets on the table and the manager was so rude that it got into an argument, she refused to give me my money back and took all my chips away from me and asked the security guard to show me the way out.. Basically Grand Baie casino are thieves! Be careful guys.. somebody please tell the manager to comb her hair before she comes for work; her hair was all over the place on her head looks scary and so unpresentable for a “manager”, I was playing very happily and winning , then the manager told me their policy is once I put half of my chips on the table they will spin the roulette and they can’t wait for me to place all my bets , so basically she means she won’t give me no time to place my bets and started to be so rude. I asked to show me the written policy? She told me to go away. She asked me who do I think I am? And too many unpleasant things , I will not recommend this place if you are coming on holiday to Mauritius. Please make your way to SENATOR club or Port Louis casino if you expect a friendlier services. Staffs at senator club are so much more nicer than Grand Baie casino. One of the staff said sorry to me when he showed me the way out and told me night shift staffs are often rude and spoil people’s mood, and even said the manager is always threatening staffs so they keep quiet, groomy place, unfriendly manager !
Maj A — Google review
Travelled all the way just to find them closed. Clearly they don’t bother updating their opening times on Google. Very frustrating.
Pavel H — Google review
Small casino with two roulette tables. If you want to use a credit/debit card at the cashier they do not work even if the card is good. So one must use the ATM located away from the premises.
SHAMMI L — Google review
Grand Baie casino is one of the more morden casinos on the island, boasting some personal favorites like book of ra delux and has a wider selection of slots machines including the old video poker machines. The staff are exceptionally helpful and you can be guaranteed a lovely grilled cheese sandwich if you play past lunch time, coffee and tea available at request and even free on tap beer. The only thing I can complain about is that the casino is so far out of the way that we don't often visit this casino. As with all other casinos on the island the table games open after 8pm and usually run till 2am however you are able to play video roulette at anytime of the day. For a wonderful gaming experience, free snacks and the beer on tap I believe this casino is the best on the island.
