Park
Nature & Parks
Dunorlan Park, located just a short walk from the town center, spans 78 acres and offers a range of recreational activities. The park features a picturesque boating lake, scenic views of the Weald countryside, and a Grecian temple. Visitors can enjoy amenities such as an on-site cafe serving hot drinks and food, as well as ice cream. Throughout the year, Dunorlan Park hosts various outdoor events including a November fireworks display and weekly Park Runs.
Great park. We stopped here for a picnic, a walk and a trip out on the pedalos, and enjoyed all 3 activities! There are plenty of benches to sit on and a nice path around the park and central lake. The pedalos were a lot of fun too.
Natalie M — Google review
Dunorlan Park is an absolute delight — a proper slice of countryside heaven tucked right into Tunbridge Wells. The grounds are immaculate, the views are postcard-worthy, and there’s a peaceful vibe that makes it perfect for everyone from solo wanderers to full-on family outings. We hopped on the pedal boats and honestly, it was one of the highlights of the day. Gliding across the lake with the sun out and ducks bobbing nearby? Bliss. It was calm, relaxing, and just the right amount of effort. The café hit the mark too — friendly service, solid coffee, and great little treats to fuel the fun. Now, the only reason this isn’t a glowing 5-star review: the sandpit. It was rock solid. Like, bring-a-jackhammer solid. The kids were raring to dig in, but it was more concrete jungle than sandy playground. Bit of a letdown in an otherwise top-tier park. Still, Dunorlan delivers in every other way. If they sort that sandpit out, this place would be unbeatable. Highly recommend for a day out — just maybe skip the spade and head for the boats instead!
Bradlee C — Google review
Dunorlan Park is a lovely spot for a walk, really well kept, with plenty of space to relax. The lake is beautiful and there’s a nice mix of open fields and shaded paths. Great for families, picnics, or just some quiet time.
John T — Google review
Lovely park! Great for short walks and picnics with family. Several friendly ducks and geese around. There were even some goslings when we visited in June. Boating in the summer is a nicer little treat. There is a small cafe with several tables indoors and a few outside. It does get crowded on weekends and holidays. Parking available from £1, free after 6pm.
Merine A — Google review
I always have a lovely time in Dunorlan. The lap of the lake has some slopes, but there are plenty of benches on the way round. The park is always beautifully presented in all seasons, and it’s nice to see the ducks on the lake. Inevitably I always get my phone out to take a photo of a new plant I have spotted, or the general view.
Faye W — Google review
Had never been there before but will definitely going back. A very large place to walk you dog 🐕 or go for a jog. Has a very nice cafe with large selection of food and drinks to choose from. My only complaint is that there should be a bigger sign out the front as I drove past it twice. Well worth a visit.
M W — Google review
Great place to walk your dogs .. take a picnic or sit on one of many beaches to read a book. It also has a great play area for the kids or grandchildren to play and if you to to take a boat out on the lake. All has a set side of the lake to chill out and do abit of fishing
Mark P — Google review
Stopped off here for a short break on way home from Canterbury. Lovely park, clean, tidy, clean toilets, nice little cafe and can hire pedalos on the lake/pond. Nice to walk round. Park for the kids. £1 per hour parking where we parked.

Grosvenor & Hilbert Park, established in 1889 by renowned Victorian landscape architect Robert Marnock, is a historic public space featuring original features like Marnock Lake and grottoes. The park offers various amenities including a playground, bowling green, cafe, wildlife habitats, and public toilets. Visitors can explore the town's rich history by visiting iconic landmarks such as The Tunbridge Wells Common and the elegant Chalybeate Spring.
A lovely park with lots of different activity areas: woodlands, grassy banks, wetland, large pond with a grotto-looking series of wells, various children's playgrounds, bowls, playing fields, cafe, toilets, (these were closed so can't say how good they are). I could go on. Lots of people and dogs enjoying a warm summer's evening (even if the Olympic swimming was on!).
Fluffy B — Google review
Lovely local park with a range of facilities. A small cafe and large children's play area for small ones. Other games and activity areas for older young adults. Dog walking, running, paddling areas. Good for getting exercise in lovely, well maintained surroundings.
Joy C — Google review
I wanted to go somewhere a bit different with my dogs. Unfortunately I found that there was no parking for the main park. And had to park in a visitor bay in one of the housing complexes near the park. The park itself was beautiful, very green but lots of hills which was a little hard for one of my dogs as she struggles with the hills. But overall a good park, would I come here again probably not. Good for children as the park looked like it had a lot going for it.
Layla J — Google review
This is truly a gem. It's a beautiful park that allows you to take a stroll on well maintained paths which are also wheelchair friendly. There is a lovely Cafe which I found has a really good variety of meals to choose from. Finally there is a well setup kids play area which has the most amazing kids activities which are even big enough for parents to climb and help their little ones. There are nice sand pits and lots of natural wood climbing structures.
Nethin M — Google review
Beautiful wooded park nestled between Tunbridge Wells and High Brooms. Reasonably larger wooded areas cut off the main area of the park for a more secluded walk, and the main area has a nice pond/nature reserve. It seemed especially popular with dog walkers as the park is mostly surrounded by housing. Small playground area for children and some pretty cool street art on some of the walls.
Atlas — Google review
This is my favourite place for a walk with my dog, the park keeper is super friendly and he's doing there great job keeping this place tidy and clean- great job Mr. Park keeper 👍
Peter N — Google review
Lovely park comprising lake, trees, bowling green, wooded areas and an orchard. Cafe and hub also there, with indoor and outdoor seating. Easily accessible from centre of TW.

Beautiful park with different play areas for all ages, including zip wire and basketball field. There are picnic tables and a coffee shop. No parking as its in the city centre but usually easy to find parking in the surrounding roads.

The park also offers sports facilities such as tennis, netball, and basketball courts that are free to use. Dating back to the Victorian era, this park was originally part of a development for private residents.
Beautiful setting with tennis courts a cafe and we was lucky to see a free live music festival was excellent .

Lost a star as the loos are being refurbished and the temporary ones are disgusting. However, the park is glorious and very colourful at this time of year. Public gym equipment was fun. And a wonderful children adventure play area. I very reasonably priced cafe was visited and had very welcoming staff. Just a shame about the loos.
Andy H — Google review
What a gorgeous little park, so much for everyone. Basketball/tennis, bowling green, fitness machines and a children's play area. Planting is great, so much to see and beautiful. What is particular nice is how much the park is used; multicultural and generational 👍🏻
Ralph F — Google review
Attended for the food festival. Lovely park, easily accessible with various and affordable parking nearby. Slight incline heads up in sections for prams. Easy to go down bit of work going back up!
Samantha M — Google review
Great park in Tunbridge Wells. Do visit when Local and Live is on. FREE music festival
Roger W — Google review
Community grounds which is brilliant for soaking up some sun and relaxing. For those with kids there is a really nice playground with a coffee shop next to it. There is also a well kept outdoor gym, tennis courts and basketball courts so it's perfect for spending a few hours whether you just want to relax or get some physical activity in.
Nethin M — Google review
At any time of year, Calverley Park, and grounds, are a great place to visit. Whether you're wandering through the park to admire the changing colours of some fantastic trees, or just enjoying great food and drink at the café, it's a great place to unwind. I've not used the toilet facilities but I hope they're in as good a condition as the park.
MrBryan6906 — Google review

Woodbury Park Cemetery, also known as a Mortuary Garden by the Victorians, has been serving as a cemetery for 175 years. This green and peaceful place is listed by English Heritage and features sculptured tombs, monuments, and numerous unmarked graves. Visitors can enjoy a tranquil stroll among the splendid trees and benches to relax and recharge. The cemetery is well-maintained and even houses the resting place of Henry Austen, brother of author Jane Austen.
Well worth visiting this beautiful, tranquil cemetery. It is so peaceful and calm with benches to sit and relax and enjoy the peace. We visited in Feb 2024 and the spring bulbs, cowslips , crocuses and primroses were so pretty. The many trees are splendid and majestic. Take an hour out and recharge your batteries. Highly recommended.

Park
Hawkenbury Recreation Ground is a fantastic outdoor space located on the outskirts of town. It features an enclosed children's play area, a scooter track, and sports facilities such as cricket/football pitch, tennis courts, and a basketball court. The playground has soft paving and fencing for safety, making it suitable for kids of all ages. Additionally, there are walking paths through the woods, open fields to run around in, and even a coffee van on-site.
More than I realised here for the kids in the park. Toilets, all weather pitch, sometimes even a coffee/snack van. With a two-year old and 11-year old, there was enough for both of them to do and places for me to supervise them both as needed.
Gerry C — Google review
Wonderful recreational ground with a playground suitable for a wide age range of children. It is all soft/ spongy type paving so if it rained the day before the kids arent going to get muddy. There is fencing around the playground so it is safer from dogs roaming and to keep an eye of toddlers. There is a large green space to enjoy with a path around the edge for mud free walks. There are also tennis courts, outdoor gym and basket ball courts for adults and children to play in. An astroturf football pitch (this has to be booked and paid for) for club games.
Kirsty P — Google review
Lovely well maintained open space with tennis court, gym area and park. Also one of the few places dog walkers pick up after themselves!
Leanne R — Google review
It's a lovely little place. With a children's play park, a few fields and shut off parts for football and tennis, a good distance around (1k) so good for walkers and joggers and a brilliant outdoor gym. The only downside is that some people don't clear up after their dogs, despite there being bag dispensers and bins at every entrance to the park!
Gemma G — Google review
It's a huge place with plenty of space to run, there is a tennis and basketball court, some outside gym equipment, the playground obviously lol, good few hours out if you bring a football or bike and a picnic (there's an overpriced shop but it's a 5-10walk away) and there are toilets next to the play area but be warned they aren't the nicest/most clean. It's great if you live in the area but it's not somewhere I'd travel far to visit, especially in the summer as there's limited parking.
Georgia M — Google review
Because I come here a lot during the summer, I think this park would be nice if it had more climbing frames and perhaps a cafe. As the park hasn’t been changed for a long time. Thank you
Casper L — Google review
Great little place to take the kiddies. Not a great amount amount to do, but what is there is enough to warrant a good few smiles and some pretty pics to go with them. There's a tennis court for older children and a field big enough for a spot of football/running too, so it's all good ;)
Mr__GrimReaper — Google review
Beautiful green space around TW. Close to mynplace so naturally I spend a lot of time in the park. Great facilities, gets a bit too crowded on a Sunday, but can't be selfish and keep the place for myself. Seen some beautiful sunsets and feels pretty safe. Could be better lit at night.

Trinity Theatre is a performing arts venue that offers a variety of entertainment options such as classical theatre, music, films, and visual arts. The theatre also has children's shows featuring animation and puppetry. Despite some concerns about expensive drinks at the bar and slow service during intervals due to limited staff, Trinity Theatre remains a lovely community space with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Its comfortable seating and great selection of films make it an enjoyable experience for all visitors.
I saw Ghost Train at this theatre. It was a good production in a lovely theatre but I particularly wanted to mention how great the staff are. I asked if I could use a hearing assistance pack but they were having technical issues. They couldn't have tried harder to get one working for me and kept me informed all the way through. In the end they couldn't get it working but until this morning I didn't know they had these available and I had booked the second row so could hear most of the production. Really great staff (though I believe they may actually be volunteers).
Val M — Google review
Watching a movie at a cinema that used to be a church was a memorable and delightful experience. There’s a cozy café&bar inside. Elderly local volunteers running the place. The only downside was that the theatre was quite cold, otherwise I had a wonderful time.
Duygu U — Google review
Lovely venue. Cafe & bar area within. We saw "Now that's what I call an 80's night" concert. Seating was great, with adequate space to have a boogie as well. There is limited parking at the venue, however 5 minutes away is the Crescent Road multi storey car park.
Alan G — Google review
“Now That’s what I call an 80s Night!” with Cinnamon Street was BANGING! A real feel good evening of many familiar 80’s classics, reproduced authentically in the intimate setting of Trinity Theatre one of the jewels of Tunbridge Wells! A must see!
Lisa E — Google review
We're so lucky to have this fabulous venue, with its amazing staff on our doorstep. Its intimate feel and excellent sight lines to the stage make this a perfect venue for their varied shows and concerts. We can't recommend this venue highly enough.
Steve B — Google review
Trinity Theatre pulled out all the stops with the staging of Eddie Izzard’s Hamlet. An extraordinary and brilliant performance that fitted perfectly into the dramatic Trinity setting. The Trinity staff and team made our visit a pleasure from the start, helpful people, lovely venue, superb theatre in every sense of the word.
Victoria C — Google review
A hugely dedicated and professional team run this independent venue, who should be congratulated on their commitment to making a difference to our community. In particular, the Trinity Youth Theatre team are just brilliant: they nurture their members, growing confidence and skill sets along the way. All their performances aim high and do not disappoint.
Andrea G — Google review
"Simon Evans and friends" Trinity Theatre, Tunbridge Wells, 26.09.2025: To be fair, I only went to see Simon Evans - he was excellent - as usual. However, the opening act, Sunil Patel, seemed very ill-at-ease and uncomfortable, passing on this anxiety to the audience. He cannot have much experience and this probably led to the unease and continually checking his watch didn't help. Shappi Korsandi, on the other hand, had a large amount of experience, but seems to have lost the ability to read a room - very disappointing and even more watch-checking!. What was missing, overall, was a compere, as the event - until the arrival of Simon evans - was very disjointed.

St John's Park, located in the St John's area of Tunbridge Wells, is a charming green space that offers various amenities and activities. It is a popular spot for families with children, as it features a playground for younger kids and a skate park for the more adventurous ones. Tennis courts and a basketball court provide opportunities for sports enthusiasts to stay active. The park also boasts a meadow area towards its rear, which provides a tranquil setting.
This is our local park, I love it when the kids are in the playground, the skateboard park is active and the dog walkers are out. A lovely green space in the middle and access to other woods for longer walks. I haven't been to the Even Flow cafe yet but that is on the cards for 2022
Chris M — Google review
Lovely little park, however emphasis on the little, it’s has a play park for children, and then a small meadow/wild area for dogs to run, plenty of benches and bins. No toilets or cafe. Great little local area.
Dawn — Google review
Nice park but seems to be infested with tics.
Graham W — Google review
It was a lot bigger than I thought as it goes down the hill. There are two areas of equipment for the young children and the older ones. In the younger one there was a sand pit with a digging machine and next to it was a shelter with seating which would be good if it rains. Picnic benches are dotted around. At the bottom of the hill is a zip wire. I didn't see any toilet, but I didn't look to hard. Nice park.
Julie P — Google review
Small park, nicely done out with some short walks from which you can get out into countryside. Has a play area, tennis courts, small skate park, basketball/five a side.

A real jewel in tunbridge wells, so many great places to walk and relax, public toilets near the upper cricket ground, so many great benches all over the common. Such a lovely place to come and enjoy, but bring walking boots from October onwards as can get very very muddy.

This cozy spot features an array of wooden play equipment designed primarily for younger children, including swings, slides, and imaginative playhouses set amidst beautifully landscaped surroundings. Great new playground. Children loved the water pump and little houses. Toilets other side of the park but plenty of trees nearby!
Colin S — Google review
A fantastic enclosed play area for babies and toddlers!! Sandpits, swings, boats, little houses! It's awesome. My 2 Yr old daughter LOVES going.
Steve D — Google review
The playground is for small kids only, and there is probably a broken pipe somewhere around it, as there are usually water puddles by one of the gates. The experience would be better if that was fixed. There is a nice cafe next to it, with activities for the kids and the lady who runs it also runs some activities around the playground (like finding all animal pictures), which the kids love. But if you have older kids (older than 8 I would say), better try to find a bigger/more varied playground.
Sami P — Google review
The new planting for spring 2023 has improved the sight lines so you can easily keep an eye on your child. Shame the water is switched off, presumably because of the hose ban. But our children aged between two and 12 had a good time nonetheless.
Clare L — Google review
Not a huge place but really nice for a stroll around and for the kids to play. A nice kids play park with an excellent little cafe. Toastie and salad. Great place to meet up and not far from the high street/shops. Helps that the sun is out. Well worth a visit and ill definitely come back 👍

I had been given a gift voucher for my birthday while pregnant, so this was my first visit to The Spring Rooms. I had the most wonderful pregnancy massage with Deborah - so good, in fact, I promptly booked in another! I enjoyed the atmosphere, the consideration and the kind, tailored approach to my needs. Its unlike any other massage I've had before, every move and stretch felt purposeful. Thank you so much for both recent massages, I will be sure to return for more treats once the baby arrives!

I found the Spring Rooms online and having seen the glowing reviews I thought I’d give it a go. I went to Kim for a lymphatic drainage massage after some health issues, having never tried one before and Kim was amazing, explaining what it was and what I might feel like after. Kim was very professional and made it such a relaxing environment. I was in a lovely dream-like state the whole of the day following my massage with Kim. I love that she sent a pre-massage form for information, it really made me feel like my care was tailored to me. I will definitely be returning to the Spring Rooms.

I had a prenatal massage with Deborah when I was 38 weeks pregnant and it was absolutely incredible. I have since gone back to have a postnatal massage and it did not disappoint! I explained I’ve been having some sciatic pain and Deborah spent time on pressure points to ease this. She was able to read my body so well and I came away feeling very relaxed. I highly recommend Springs Rooms - Deborah is the best masseuse I’ve ever had.

I had a wonderful experience at The Spring Rooms. From the moment I arrived, I felt relaxed and comfortable thanks to Kim’s calming presence and professionalism. I had been struggling with tightness and pain in my shoulders and neck, which had caused one of my shoulders to sit higher than the other. Kim took the time to understand and focus on these problem areas, and I was amazed to see a visible improvement immediately after the session… my shoulder had noticeably dropped. I’ll definitely be returning and am already looking forward to my next visit

I have been visiting this wonderful little oasis for the last few months. I have a sculptural facial massage (which includes a Buccal massage) with the amazing Alisa. This is not a facial, but a specific massage for the face . It works mini miracles if you suffer from migraines and TMJ, and if you don’t require this help, then it does tighten and firm the skin giving you a natural face lift. You book via their website and there is a vast array of treatments, that I do intend to explore. Highly recommended - will not disappoint.

I had the most amazing massage with Jolanta this weekend. She personalised my treatment to give a 45 minute neck, shoulder and back massage, then straight into an Ayuvedic facial massage which was amazing! So relaxing, I almost fell asleep. The setting, the decoration and the vibe of the Spring Rooms can't fail to welcome you in. I can't wait to go back. I would highly recommend Spring Rooms and particularly Jolanta. The whole experience was just brilliant.

Attended for a one off massage for myself and my partner as a gift. We were both very pleased with our experience. Very professional and welcoming team. The whole experience was very calming and relaxing and our individual problem areas were heard and acted upon. Will definitely be returning.

It was my first time visiting the Spring Rooms a couple of weeks ago and I've had two wonderful treatments so far; one with Fiona (Reiki) and another with Kim (Indian Head Massage). Both were total bliss from start to finish.

Reasonable green space, although very muddy in the winter months. There's a small kiddies playground area (although hidden away somewhat from the main entrance) and in summer the main grassed section of this rec is used by the local cricket club.

We visited during Christmas and were delighted by the festive atmosphere, with lots of fun activities for kids and families. In the summer, it’s ideal for kayaking, water sports, or simply enjoying the beautiful landscape. A peaceful, welcoming place with plenty of greenery – highly recommend!

I came here with my family for a sunny day outside and we thought it could have been nice spending it near a lake (or reservoir). Well, it was an amazing idea. The reservoir is huge and so the park. I guess we probably saw 2% of it. But it was already sufficient to have great fun and enjoy the playground, the million of bluebells all around, the picnic. My kids loved it, too. There's a big car park to pay with ring go. Then you get to the main facility with a wide area to buy food with tables indoors and outdoors and a beautiful view on the lake. There's even a mini golf and a climbing wall. Then you have this green slope towards the lake with a big wooden boat as entrance to the playground. The main attraction was the huge slide. I think my kids spent an hour there! I don't know what the rest of the park can offer, but I saw you can hire some boats or board to get into the lake. It totally deserves a visit!

Bewl Water is a beautiful and peaceful place to spend the day. It’s perfect for family picnics with kids as well as couples looking for a quiet outing. The lake views are stunning, the fresh air is refreshing, and there’s plenty of space to relax or take a walk. A wonderful spot to unwind, enjoy nature, and create special memories together.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A magical spot to connect with nature Bewl Water is absolutely beautiful! The lake is stunning 😍 surrounded by breathtaking natural scenery that made me fall in love instantly. Everything was clean and well maintained, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The car park is very spacious, including lots of disabled bays, and it only costs around £8 for the whole day (paid via Ringo) very reasonable. There are clean toilets on site and a lovely cafe with gorgeous views over the lake, perfect for a little break. One of the best surprises of the day was discovering the dog wash station! I was able to give my pup Santiago 🐾 a proper bath for just £7 😁 it costs £3.50 for 3 minutes and it's totally worth it 💷 I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a peaceful escape with beautiful views, great facilities, and a dog friendly atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!

Had a wonderful few hours riding the circular route around Bewl Water country park. Despite dam relief work ongoing, it doesn’t affect the experience. The trail is through woodland and open meadow, giving views across the water and occasionally taking to quiet country roads. The footpath is around 13 miles of effort. As I was cycling my trip meter registered around 16 mile due to not being able to follow the footpath. Some areas are cycle free. The route was well maintained and dry with only a couple of wet patches with streams, run off from fields etc. But after a tiring ride I was glad that the Coffee shop was open. I went on a quiet midweek day but I can see Bewl Water getting busy on bank holidays. There’s plenty of nature to see as well. Plants, birds, insects, a whole spectrum of wildlife.

Very nice experience with good quality bikes. I got lost once or twice but it just made the adventure more rememberable. The bikes were very easy to work with and the gears changed with a click of a button. Very nice scenery 10/10 would recommend
Ali B — Google review
13 mile walk including detour to the Bull at Ticehurst. Recommend going anticlockwise around lake as this has more hilly sections on lane without a view, so better to finish with the prettier side! Good cafe on site with dog washing facilities.
Natalie R — Google review
Bewl Water is a nice location for a decent walk. Whenever I've gone I've always done the full loop, which is about 13 miles. A small part of the walk leaves the reservoir edge and diverts through some country lanes. These can be quite steep if you're not used to hills, but overall the rest of the walk is nice and flat. Some parts could do with additional signposts, but generally it's easy to stay on track. There is a centre with cafe and play park, mini golf etc. And there is also an inflatable water park too. There is plenty of parking, although it's a little expensive for the day, (£8.50 at time of writing). This is a lovely walk and one I always enjoy.
