Open air museum
Kulturen in Lund is a captivating museum that offers visitors a unique experience to explore local history and culture. The museum comprises both indoor and open-air sections, showcasing historic buildings and lush gardens. Visitors can immerse themselves in the daily life of past eras, from the Middle Ages to the 1930s, through various exhibitions on folk art, modern design, and global culture.
What a wonderful experience we had at this museum. It was way bigger than I could have imagined and we spend a solid three hours there. Lots of different houses that give you the feeling how life was back in Sweden. Very well preserved and plenty of interaction. There are many activities you can do in the museum which also makes it fun for kids. Only feedback I have is that not everything is translated in a convenient way.
Rob K — Google review
A large open museum of Swedish culture in Lund, few temporary exhibitions are hosting there, all of them are very interesting, and there are lots of exhibits of different houses and cultures which shows the Swedish life from the 1600s to the modern days The open museum area is pretty large and it's perfect to enjoy a cozy afternoon there. There's a restaurant, a café and a souvenir shop with some very interesting books. You'll most likely spend more than 2 hours there thetefore is better to go there earlier.
Möbius — Google review
I was quite impressed with the open-air museum. Apparently, throughout the last century, they have taken old buildings from around Sweden as they were about to be demolished and took them apart and reassembled them here as life-size exhibits, showing life in eras past. The 18th century parsonage and the wooden church are probably the most impressive items in this museum. But one can also visit a 1920s mason's apartment, or tan early 19th century house of a local university professor (he lived well). The whole place is very kid-friendly and one can spend anywhere between two hours or a whole afternoon there.
Tomas C — Google review
A beautiful open air museum about houses in Sweden from the 16th until the 20th century, some from the country-side others from villages and cities of southern Sweden. All free accessible and some with nice exhibitions. The museum is located in a city area with old buildings from the 16th century onwards worth wandering around.
Dp B — Google review
A very nice open air museum with various old buildings. You can walk into some of them and see how people lived in the past. There are also various exhibitions in different museum buildings.
Morgan L — Google review
Wasn't really my thing in the end, but there are lots of diverse arts things to see here, so it is worth it though! I was also a bit tired this day
Karel L — Google review
This museum is a must visit when you are in Lund. Every exhibition was well curated. Being an open air museum it offers both: beautiful scenery and authentic insights into life in historical Sweden.

Lund Cathedral, a renowned Lutheran church in Sweden, is a must-see landmark with its 55-meter-high towers known as Lunna pagar. Dating back to 1145, the cathedral boasts historical treasures like the untouched crypt from 1123 and an astronomical clock from 1380. Designed by architect Helgo Zetterval, the main block features a classical style and faces a charming square. Visitors can also admire the impressive Kungshuset tower nearby.
Lund Cathedral is a must-see if you’re visiting southern Sweden! The architecture is absolutely stunning with it's massive stone towers-seriously impressive! The cathedral really stands out in the center of the city. It's hard to miss. Inside, it's really pretty with its stained glass and a cool astronomical clock located towards the back. Some of the people I met that came out shortly after me said they weren't allowed to see the clock or take pics. I think they start to get strict there on visitors once mass begins. It’s free to enter and is worth a stop in. A memorable landmark in Sweden for sure.
How L — Google review
A beautiful old cathedral built around the 1100s. As with cathedrals back then, there is a crypt where kings and other important people were buried. Another really cool antique is the astrological clock that still works. Amazing place and it is definitely a must visit when in Lund.
C N — Google review
Lund Cathedral isn’t just a place of worship — it’s a cathedral wrapped in Swedish legend, myth, and medieval wonder. From the moment you step inside, you feel the weight of centuries and stories pressing in from the stone walls and shadowy corners. The most fascinating part lies beneath the main floor — the ancient crypt, built in the early 12th century. Here stands the eerie statue of Finn the Giant, said in local legend to have built the cathedral in a single night. When the bishop tricked him out of payment, Finn tried to destroy the cathedral but was turned to stone and now stands silently guarding the crypt. It’s a chilling and unforgettable sight that adds a mythical edge to your visit. Then there’s the astronomical clock, an enchanting medieval timepiece that still functions today. Every day at noon and 3 p.m., you can watch it come to life as the Three Wise Men process before a mechanical Virgin Mary and baby Jesus, while medieval music plays. It’s like stepping straight into a fairy tale. Even if you’re not religious, the deep sense of Nordic lore, mystery, and ancient craftsmanship make this one of the most memorable cathedrals in all of Scandinavia. A must-visit for lovers of legends and the mystical past.
Dmitry Z — Google review
Very historical church , must visit and it’s near to malmo. It’s built in year 1100 and architecture is very beautiful. There is no entry ticket for this church. Usually there is lot of weddings happen in this church and some times it can be closed for visitors. There is paid parking available nearby. Lot of restaurants also nearby.
Jayeshmon C — Google review
A very serene place, It is beautiful cathedral built around the 1100s. It was worth the visit for the beautiful stained glass windows and the silence. the offerings of burring the candle was satisfying
Sunil K — Google review
It's a magnificent ancient church that has retained its genius loci. There is an astronomical clock inside which shows not just time but also date and zodiac sign and it chimes, with moving marionettes, at noon. And this is followed by a short prayer and Bible reading, which I very much appreciated. The bookstore across the church yard is also very much worth visiting.
Tomas C — Google review
I really liked it. For a 1000-year-old cathedral, it's very well-preserved. Don't miss the basement, there's a very interesting crypt there.

Lund Cathedral (Swedish: Lunds domkyrka) is a cathedral of the Lutheran Church of Sweden in Lund, Scania, Sweden. It is the seat of the Bishop of Lund and the main church of the Diocese of Lund. Stadsparken in Lund is a charming city park that offers a variety of attractions for visitors. The park features picturesque grassy areas, statues, and a delightful cafe where you can relax with a cup of coffee. It also houses a bird museum showcasing local birdlife and boasts a large playground for children to enjoy. The central area showcases classical French and German gardens, while the rest of the park follows an English landscape garden style.
Beautiful park with a lot of green and place for different activities. Peaceful environment. I found it more interesting than the botanical garden.

Elyar Z — Google review
One of the best park, I have ever seen. Very scenic and beautiful. Must visit for every Lund citizen and visitors.
Nikhil D — Google review
I really like the fact that the park has so many characters: the lake in the middle brings a bit of a wild vibe because of the bushes surrounding it, the very manmade engineered side of the lake with a mini waterfall and deck is also beautiful in its own way. The lawn areas where you see groups engage in different outdoor games and activities is on one side, whereas the kids play area is on the other side, kind of isolated. The meandering paths take you to a small stream, to private corners under some trees, whereas the fountain and the surrounding area is bright and open. Not a huge fan of the bird enclosure, but love this park! The restaurant in the premises is also lovely and carried the spirit of the park.
Shraddha R — Google review
Really nice park. Skateboarding place is big and good. Ducks are friendly. Volleyball sand field available for all almost all time. Kids playing ground is the best with small castle and swings. There some summer activities, like music and public dancing. Some hammock available. Ice cream is pricey 😞
Anton M — Google review
We enjoyed it a lot. It was a pity that the castle playground area was closed due to renovation.
Llorenç V — Google review
Due to its design, Stadparken, located in the centre portion of Lund municipality, Sweden, provides a stunning and wonderful sight to view. There is a lake, many birds, sculptures, trees, and footpaths, among other things that help to buffer the ecosystem around this park. Since it's been winter, the trees have shed their leaves, leaving just skeleton trees standing alone, waiting for summer to bring the leaves back to life. As per my understanding, this park was dedicated in 2011 as part of the park’s 100th anniversary celebrations. Even though it was winter, the park has architectural and landscape splendour. Any traveller to Sweden should make this park a priority on their list of sites to see.

Högevall is a modern water park located in Scania, offering a wide range of attractions for visitors of all ages. The complex features adventurous slides for thrill-seekers, jungle pools designed for children, and exercise courses to cater to the energetic crowd. It also boasts wet and dry saunas, water gym facilities, adventure pools, and professional practice pools. Additionally, there is a large warm swimming pool available for public use.
Högevall is a really good swimming hall with a really fun water park and swimming courses. It has a pretty average Café, a bit overpriced, and lastly, there is the sports where you can multiple sports and set up different courts to play different sports
Matteo S — Google review
Messy entrance with lots of people going in all directions. Worn down and not very well kept facilities where showers are often broken and shower curtains missing. Showers have uncomfortable harsh streams and there are too few. You'll have to change in the toilet room if you want some privacy. Cleanliness vary a lot. Completely useless signs to find the right changing rooms, and the entire building is like a labyrinth. Water is cold. We go here for kids' swimming lessons because we live nearby. Would recommend going elsewhere for recreation, like Eslöv or Hyllie.
Mia — Google review
I had my worst experience ever at Högevall in Lund. The staff responsible for supervising children were extremely rude and seemed irritated with everyone. When the facility was about to close, they rushed people out without giving them enough time to change their clothes properly, which felt very disrespectful and stressful. On top of that, the entrance fees are quite expensive, and the place is often overcrowded, making the whole visit uncomfortable and chaotic. There are many other swimming and recreational facilities that offer much better service, more reasonable prices, and a more pleasant atmosphere. In my opinion, avoid this place entirely. It was disappointing from start to finish, and I would never recommend it to anyone.
Dhing D — Google review
A decent swimming pool, but with a few unfortunate downsides: - oftentimes overcrowded, facilities just not enough for the demand - quite pricey, especially given that you have to pay extra for the bracelet - very strange opening times - the LGBT+ changing rooms are a great initiative, but often filled with families and children - the staff aren't the friendliest What I don't understand: if I sign a form for a 6-month ticket, with my personal data, and even a picture of me, why can't the staff let me in on a day that I forgot my entrance bracelet? Surely you can check my personnummer and literal photograph of my face to see I have a membership? Staff were quite unhelpful in this regard as well, unfortunately. In summary, for Swedish standards, this pool could do better.
Calam R — Google review
Helpful and friendly reception staff, nice and clean exercise pool, good prices.
Zuzanna P — Google review
Enjoy nice warm and cold pools and water slides
Ali M — Google review
We wont be taking our baby to the swimming classes there anymore! The place is not equipped for babies let alone the huge number of babies and parents that have to use the facilities! The showers are not adequate, temperatures are always too low and cold for them! The water in the pool is cold and the corridors as well. Most parents come with their children sick to the lessons, and it’s understandable (!) since they get sick so often. We paid so much money and were able to attend 4 classes altogether due to constant sicknes and I know other parents have experienced the same thing. Staff is not always friendly and there doesn’t seem to be enough cleaning. We share the disabilities rooms for the lessons since there isn’t a room for babies or toddlers, we are there first thing in the morning, and last week there were crumbs of food on the small matress that we have for changing. Very very disappointing! When you experience all this it is quite hard to enjoy the time with your baby! We lived in a village prior to moving to Lund and had a better experience! Definitely not recommended! Please keep your baby safe and enjoy your time with them doing something else!
Madalina P — Google review
The water slides were fun! The kids loved it ! There were tons of lifeguards and it was clean. They had free life jackets for kids to use and tables to sit on. There is also an outdoor pool area. It’s pretty big and they have a huge lap pool two of them. They also have this thing where they put on huge waves in the pool it was fun!

The park features beautiful buildings with ancient roots and serves as a symbol of the city's student life. Joanna C — Google review
Review about Lund in general, not just about the University park. I was positively surprised by the beauty of Lund and it's old (but well maintained) buildings. The University park in the center is very lovely designed, also has a Viking burial surrounded by rune stones (although the description says that the people this was dedicated to actually lie buried elsewhere 🤷‍♂️). Lund also offers a lot of restaurants and pubs, much more (in average) than I saw in other Swedish cities in the south. The city center can easily be walked for a full sightseeing tour in one to two hours.
Claudio K — Google review
It is an old king's garden with the remaining buildings and a park. Now it is open for everybody but before there was a fence to keep strangers away. Nowadays the main university building is located here where they hold different ceremonies. Just in front of this main building there is a round fountain always decorated with seasonal flowers, runes brought from various parts of Sweden, some sculptures and a couple of trees that bloom beautifully in spring.

Botaniska trädgården, located at Lund University, is a beloved botanical garden offering a diverse collection of plants and trees. Visitors can explore the lush greenery, visit the gift shop, or relax at the charming café. The garden is a popular spot for nature enthusiasts and families, providing ample space for leisurely walks and outdoor activities. Despite being particularly picturesque during winter when trees are not in bloom, it remains an enchanting sight to behold.
A beautiful place with a nice array of colourful and diverse flowers. Known to be the biggest botanical garden in Sweden and one of the biggest in northern Europe. What adds a lot to the experience is the small hilltop which offers a great and wide view over this part of Göteborg. It is the perfect place to enjoy a nice summer walk in the pleasant warm (but not hot) nordic summer. Once done with the botanical garden, you can progress for a small walk in the nearby protected national forest. The entrance works on a honour basis, so generally if you don't have any money, you can enter for free, but there is the voluntary option of paying 30kr for entry or donating money via online money transfer methods.

I paid a visit to a friend who is studying at Lund University. When the time arrived for me to travel to Sweden from Germany to visit this friend, I was overjoyed. He showed me about the university community, including the university itself, and showed me several interesting places. Unfortunately, I visited during the winter season, so the flowers and trees had shed their leaves, so the added beauty of summer was missing, but the essential thing was that I saw the university. Great 👍 and lovely 😍 university!

Sankt Hans Hills, also known as Sankt Hans Backar, is a popular destination in Lund, Sweden. This man-made marvel was once a landfill but was transformed into a landscaped garden in the 1970s. The park offers picturesque views and is perfect for leisurely walks and picnics. During winter, it becomes an ideal spot for pulka with its varying hill heights.
Best place for pulka during winter time! It has a few different heights of hills that you can do pulka. It’s very nice hill plus park to walk around too. Nice in every season. From the top you can watch the whole city even can see the turning tower from Malmö. Good for running too.

A great playground for the older kids and a nice patch of green between the railway and the western parts of Lund. Enjoy it while it lasts. Lunds kommun in their "wisdom" will destroy it by making Lokföraregatan an autobahn.

Nobelparken is a spacious and family-friendly park located in the outskirts of Lund. It features a variety of amenities such as play areas for kids, a jogging track, basketball court, and even an outside gym. Families can enjoy picnics and playdates in this clean and well-maintained park. However, some visitors have noted the need for more trees to provide shade and protection from the wind.

Big park suitable for families, walking and exercise
Ali M — Google review
There is drinkwater and WC but I wish there were some sprinkel as well when the weather is hot. Also it is not convenient to get here by car since it is not allowed to park it around the Nobelparken.. this is the case even though the road looks like it should be ok to park at while being there. But the penalty is 1300 SEK.
Oscar K — Google review
A nice and open park. Very clean too. It has an outside gym. Only negative thing.. No area with shadows.
Adam M — Google review
This ain't a park but a large playground, currently surrounded by construction sites. Maybe when the trees will grow and water will accumulate in the presumed pond, it will even become cozy. It may even become a nice bbq place, if it'll get a toilet. Right now it is promising, and already a decent place to pay a brief visit to, but not on a rainy or a sunny day, as there's no any roof anywhere except of the wooden castle.
Oxana S — Google review
The park is wonderful for kids and families but missing a parking space nearby
Ali H — Google review
Under construction park with play area for kids, dogs, jogging track and a basket ball court. Good place for kids in Summer. To be able to play in winter more trees that cut off the wind are required

University Square, located in the heart of Lund, has a rich history dating back to the late 17th century when it was home to botanical gardens. The square is now adorned with the stunning Lund University building and is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. In addition to its historical significance, the square boasts beautiful natural surroundings, including a peaceful garden and an elegant fountain at its center.
The square is beautifully maintained, surrounded by historic buildings, and has a vibrant atmosphere. The greenery and the well-kept gardens add a serene touch, making it a perfect spot to relax or take a leisurely stroll. The architecture of the university buildings around the square is stunning, with a mix of old and new that reflects the rich history and innovative spirit of Lund University. There are plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the view, and the area is bustling with students and faculty, giving it a lively yet intellectual vibe. I was particularly impressed with the cleanliness and the thoughtful layout of the square. It's clear that a lot of effort goes into maintaining this space, making it not only a great place for students but also for visitors. If you’re in Lund, a visit to University Square is a must. It's a true gem that captures the essence of the city's academic excellence and historical charm.

A beautiful place with lots of choices, unfortunately there is just not enough information or signs as you go along the tracks. Too many junctions where there is no signage at all. Needs more coloured markers at the very least. More information boards would be great. Even the leaflet is not that helpful, if you don't know where you are. On my own with a dog that I walk for a friend, couldn't get into the reception as I would never tie her up outside & dogs aren't not allowed inside, so i couldn't even get any help. If it hadn't been for a lovely helpful English girl walking with her grandad, I wouldn't have had a leaflet either, she gave me her English version but admitted she wasn't sure where they were going either but her grandad could read the Swedish version. Not sure if dogs aren't meant to go on the white trail, which is where I found myself, but there was a wooden bridge into the field with the cattle. My dog could not manage that bridge 🤨 but maybe we weren't meant to be there, although we'd seen nothing telling us so...finally had to admit defeat & retrace our steps. A relaxing woodland walk turned into quite a stressful morning. If you need someone to walk these trails & point out where information boards and colored signs would be best placed, just let me know. I'd love to come back and have a better experience 🐕‍🦺😊

It’s so nice and great walk if you want to run or walk with your family and/or dog. Few playgrounds for kids and some wooden outdoor gym which is perfect. Rinnebäck Gorge, also known as Rinnebacksravinen in Swedish, is a stunning natural area located on the western edge of Lund. It offers a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in untouched nature just a short distance from the city center. Popular among locals, it's perfect for cycling and hiking enthusiasts. The area is home to friendly wildlife such as hares and pheasants, along with approachable cows.
This peaceful ravine is a lovely escape into nature, right in the heart of Lund. With its lush greenery, winding paths, and small streams, it feels like a secret forest retreat. Perfect for a quiet walk, a picnic, or just enjoying the calming sounds of nature. A must-visit for anyone who wants a quick break from the city!
Kamal S — Google review
Think less alpine rivulet, more glorified drainage ditch. Is it worth visiting? Maybe once, if you're going to live here awhile or you've run out of other tourist attractions. Just be aware that the "headwaters" are a couple of large and very exposed industrial drain pipes. Also beware: the advisory about cattle grazing and pooping on the trail does not do justice to the sheer quantity of manure you start to encounter after the first maybe 0.1 km - if there was any good scenery beyond there, I couldn't see it because figuring out where I could put my foot down next took all my concentration. The alternative to continue was a path that cut through several stands of shrubs that had grown across the path to meet in the middle. I wasn't going to risk that, not knowing what the tick population is like here yet. If it freezes in winter, maybe I'll check it out one more time, but otherwise, this was probably my only visit.

Nature preserve? Where? You have little patches here and there between the golf greens. There is a gravel service road that it seems you should follow. But not even that tales you out of the way from the golfers. At at least one point there is a tee off on one side and the course (green?) continues on the other side. Of course not marked in any way. We thought the course went the other direction, because that would make sense. But ot turned out to upset the golfers that we were there. Some nice scenery around, but we definitely didn't feel welcome there.
