Sholom Park, located in Ocala, FL, is a 44-acre botanical garden offering a serene and picturesque escape from city life. The park features stately pavilions, landscaped gardens, and a peaceful pond surrounded by meticulously maintained green spaces. Visitors can explore the 2-mile paved trails that wind through the park's natural beauty while enjoying opportunities for bird watching and wildlife spotting.
I have been to this park a couple of times and it is a great place to walk, meditate, enjoy nature and just to have some quiet time. They have plenty of benches around the park if you need to take a break or if you just want to sit and enjoy nature or have some quiet time. I wish we had a park like this in GA!
Kristi T — Google review
It’s a beautiful park. Well maintained with so many spectacular views. You can walk, run , meditate or simply enjoy being there. Check out weather forecasts and time as it gets close by 5pm.
Dr P — Google review
Very calming and quiet environment. It’s a big property to walk around, their zen garden is fantastic for meditating, specially with the raking of the rocks. Great place for a picnic, frisbee and a quiet calm moment by yourself or someone. Bring a book if you’re a reader and some change to feed the koi fish with your children.
Alejandro S — Google review
This was my first time visiting a park like this, and it was absolutely amazing! The park is beautifully maintained and incredibly peaceful — the perfect spot to get recentered, pray, meditate, and gather your thoughts. Whether you prefer walking to clear your mind, sitting quietly to relax, or simply enjoying the calm of nature, this park offers it all. I especially loved taking a moment to feed the fish and enjoy the outdoors without the hustle and bustle of the crowds. As an added bonus, there’s even a lovely Zen Garden that enhances the overall sense of serenity. A hidden gem worth visiting again!

Fort King National Historic Landmark, located in Ocala, is a 19th-century army post that played a crucial role in the Seminole Wars. The site features a visitor center, interpretive trails, and picnic facilities for visitors to explore. Preserved and reconstructed with historical accuracy, the fort offers an immersive experience into its past.
Visited here after spending the most of the day elsewhere on a federal holiday, and found the visitor center closed. The fort itself was open and was a nice and quiet space to walk around and check out. The informational signs were plentiful and in great shape. According to available information, much more is available to participate in at other times during the week or of you have additional time to check out the trail, but not while we were there.
Michael W — Google review
Very hot and no shade but awesome to see a piece of history. The fort offered information about the wars, along with people-accurate displays. There were also trails, though we decided it was too hot so we didn't explore there.
Natalie M — Google review
I’m so glad they’ve reconstructed this incredible national site! It’s one of the most important places in Florida’s history—especially during the Second Seminole War. Walking through it feels like stepping back in time. If you’re visiting Florida and want to truly experience its past, you have to stop here. It’s a fascinating, powerful place that brings history to life!
Captain C — Google review
Beautifully reconstructed 19th century fort with so much history! As you walk in and around the fort, you can imagine what life must have been like for the soldiers stationed there. This is a great stop for families, and admission is free!
William P — Google review
A reconstruction of an old Florida fort. A lot of information given on the Seminole wars. There is a walking trail with a bench or 2 to rest. I loved the garden. Make sure to visit it.

Fort King is a unique and historically significant archaeological site well worth a visit. I recommend reading about its history and taking a short hike while you are there.

Nice offbeat piece of American History in the middle of urban settlement!! We were enroute to JAX airport and took a rest area stop off I-75, found this beautiful landmark at mins distance from the gas station and decided to give it a shot. No regrets, beautifully maintained neat and clean fort with notes from the past engraved on placards as a reference to the history.

Tuscawilla Park, located in the heart of Ocala, is a cherished city park with a rich history spanning over 100 years. The park offers a variety of attractions including a small lake, lighted tennis courts, and a science discovery center. It has become a cultural hotspot with art installations and community events hosted throughout the year. Visitors can enjoy the adjacent Tuscawilla Art Park which features live music and performances.
This is a fantastic place for kids and families. It features a scenic walking trail, a beautiful pond, and is perfect for walking your dog or enjoying a stroll. It’s a great spot to visit with plenty of activities for everyone.

Gorgeous, the walk is maybe half a mile I think...it doesn't take as long as it looks, maybe 10 minutes but the walk is beautiful. Lots of birds and amazing trees.
Rachel H — Google review
The beauty of this park is stunning, well maintained, clean, and safe, I recommend the playground for your children. If you want to exercise, walk, or run, there are plenty of walking driveways. I'll say again, perfect place peacefully and beautiful. Also, that park is an Arts Gallery. Every corner has beatifulls sculptures most off the modern pieces, all identified with the authors name. This is a quiet place easy to find park and enjoy.
Juan R — Google review
This is a beautiful park/sports complex that has a leave a book take a book area and a circle trail that goes around the lake. There's a tennis court and basketball court right by the playground with a sidewalk/trial entrance. There's a little baseball field and a Childrens Discovery center right across the street from everything as well.
Nancy L — Google review
Beautiful park, lots of interesting art, small lake, good sized playground with pirate ship, merry-go-round, wildlife everywhere
D C — Google review
I visited this park today and was really impressed. It has a large, beautiful lake with two stunning water fountains, and I loved seeing the white birds and even a few ducks enjoying the water. Squirrels were running around everywhere, which added to the lively atmosphere. The park is full of trees, giving it a peaceful and shaded feel. There’s also a really nice playground area for kids and plenty of parking, which makes visiting super convenient. If you’re looking for a park to enjoy a walk with your dog or just relax in a scenic environment, this is the perfect spot.
Oneida D — Google review
Very nice park with a large pond to walk around or fish, plenty of shade, picnic tables, abundant wildlife, and a nice playground.

I recall the first time I visited this park was in 2017, while visiting family. I didn't even know this park existed. It's an excellent park to visit and has a lot of random artwork on display throughout the park. I'm definitely planning on visiting here again this year as weatherand time permits me to.

Memorial park
Ocala/Marion County Veterans Memorial Park is a touching tribute to the sacrifices made by service members throughout history. The park features over 5,000 commemorative bricks and plaques that chronicle the nation's war history, starting from the Indian Wars in 1628. It is a well-decorated and spacious park with ample parking for various events, including recognitions for Vietnam War veterans.
We visited the Veterans Memorial Park in February, 2025. I was pleasantly surprised on how well and inclusive of folks who served both directly in the military and in support roles. I spent time walking around and reading the tributes. All I can say is well done. The folks who built this park did a fine job that they can be proud of. I don’t think they left anybody out who deserves at least some recognition. Even the merchant marine folks were recognized for their contributions. They covered different wars, skirmishes and historical events that I found appropriate to be mentioned and recognized. I wish I had the time to read everything, but that wasn’t to be. The wife accompanied me there and also found it interesting and well done. Normally she isn’t overly enthusiastic about my historical parks and museum visits. But this was one of them that she truly enjoyed. That tells me something. I was there late morning and the sun did give me problems trying to take picture. Oh well. The only negative for me was some of the exhibits are having weather related damage that can make them hard to read. The sun made it worse, and blocking the sun did help. All in all, one of, if not the best Veterans park that I have been to. Well done.
Sponge B — Google review
A very well decorated park that showcases the dedication and numerous sacrifices made by our service members. The park is very large and features ample parking for different events such as Vietnam War Veteran recognitions. Just walking the park is enough to provide a sense of respect for current and past service members.
Brentt M — Google review
Very nice and well maintained. Visited Memorial Day weekend to pay respect. 🇺🇸
J. R — Google review
Beautiful place! I was very impressed with the volume of memorials of all those who fought. And they are continuing to expand with additional memorials in the plans.
StevePotts — Google review
Definitely one of the best Veterans Memorials I've ever been to!
Debbie B — Google review
First off let me say how impressed I was, I hadn't had the chance to go since it's induction, because I moved away and then joined the service myself, but to see it today on such a beautiful day it was magnificent, well put together tribute I thought I would be underwhelmed, it was definitely the opposite kudos to everyone associated with the project, if you're a local veteran and haven't been take a trip up there. I'll provide just a small few of the photos I took while there.
Mykel E — Google review
This is such a nice public park in Ocala. Very respectful of all military branches & veterans. There are memorials, flags & benches to sit on.

Jervey Gantt Park is a popular Ocala destination, spanning over 60 acres of green space. The park features a 2-mile exercise path suitable for walking or running, with well-lit sections for evening use and exercise stations catering to various fitness levels. Additionally, the park offers sports courts, picnic shelters, and playgrounds. Families can enjoy the water park area as well.
Very good park. Football field is great and well lit for night games. The aquatic center is nice. The fields are all great. Nice paved running trail. Good park. Good courts. Parking in multiple spots around the park. Always great for a visit.
Shadow S — Google review
Beautiful paved, winding, walking paths surrounded by nature. Safe. Away from noisy roads. Convenient parking. Bathrooms and water fountains. Many pleasant people walking and running on trails but not crowded. My favorite place to easily walk 3 miles or more.
Sonya B — Google review
My fav park in Ocala. Partly because I grew up going here, partly because it has a little something for everyone. The walking path is lo ng and windy and goes through so many different sections of the park. There are tennis courts, beach volleyball courts, basketball courts, a playground, a massive dog park (two actually), and a few ball fields and football fields for youth rec leagues. More of a hometown spot than a place to visit, but if you’re looking for a peaceful place to stroll, this is it.
Purvi S — Google review
Took my boys to the splash pad connected to Jervey Gant. $3 per kid $5 per adult they have 2 sessions a day. We went to the 2pm - 5pm session and it cost me $11 total. Well worth it on this hot day. I had a picnic table under an awning which was nice. Lots of lifeguards on duty. Great family fun.
Chad ( — Google review
The kiddos loved this park. We didn't get to stay long, but there was plenty for them to play with. Swings, too!
Brianna C — Google review
Brought my kids for a stroll here. All individuals on the walking path maintained social distance and honored one another's space. There is a pavilion, walking trails, a baseball field, a volleyball court, and a playground available (there may be additional features, but that’s what I found on my initial visit) I intend to make this a frequent destination. It is certainly one of the more pleasant parks I have discovered since arriving in Ocala
Arafat Z — Google review
I really didn't take any pictures because we just rented a small Pavilion to do a little celebration of life for my mom who passed away in July. But renting the Pavilion was a pretty easy process and when we got there they had our name tagged on the Pavilion so that no one else could use it. It was very nice, and clean. There's the one large Pavilion which we did not use because we had a small group but the small pavilions are on the west side of the park and they are more than adequate and near a restroom. There are several trees that provide shade and there's a small playground where we were.
Grams — Google review
Took my children for a walk here. Everyone on the walking path stayed socially distanced and respected each others space. They have a pavilion, walking paths, baseball field, volleyball field, and a playground to offer there (may have more, but so far that is what I discovered during my first trip there) I plan on making this a regular spot to visit. It is definitely one of the nicer parks I have found since coming to Ocala.

Ocala Wetland Recharge Park is a hidden gem offering beautiful scenery and clean facilities. It's a great place for families to enjoy the outdoors, with water refill stations and educational spots. The park features various walking paths, allowing visitors to relax and observe wildlife such as turtles and birds. While some hope to spot alligators, others appreciate the peaceful atmosphere for birdwatching.
Very nice man made wetlands. See some alligators, great white egrets, great blue heron, little blue heron, several song birds, turtles, coots…. Wonderful educational stations. Cool educational tunnel with cool art. Boardwalks are super nice. Path is nice around the property. Beautiful tress and plants growing. Lots of pollinators. Wish I lived closer to visit more often. Super clean bathrooms and plenty of parking. Most importantly- free to visit.
J. R — Google review
Great park for a pic nic or a nice walk. They have some informational activities for children which makes it a good field trip if you homeschool. They appeared to have many paths gated off due to storm damage, but it was still enjoyable. Bathrooms are very clean. Grounds are clearly well cared for. The entrances are on NW 21st Ave and NW 21st Street. Follow park rules and you probably won’t have any trouble with gators. Probably.
Brittany T — Google review
Thought it would’ve been a nice spot to take a walk after driving hours down I75. Wouldn’t have drove 20 minutes off the highway if I knew they didn’t allow dogs.. Should be in their description if that’s one of the rules.

Located just north of Tuscawilla Art Park, Ocala Skatepark is a popular spot for families and skating enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy watching pros perform impressive tricks while kids have the opportunity to learn and improve their skills. Great local option for kids and adults. Each time I have been here with the kids everyone has been respectful. I hope there will be expansion as this is a really nice escape! The park is kept clean. There is the occasional train that goes by as well which the kids really enjoy! Plenty of seating for those that want to just come enjoy the peaceful area.

I have brought my grandson here several times. My only disappointment is parent's dropping off their kids here, or sending them to the park alone. Even their friends can't help them if needed. It's nice to have a local skate park for people young and old. It's a well kept clean environment. Not fond of porta-pot but is clean and better than nothing.

Banyan Road Trailhead, part of the Cross Florida Greenway, offers a well-maintained and flat paved trail suitable for various activities such as biking, running, and hiking. The trailhead features a playground for children of all ages, restrooms, and water fountains. It is an ideal spot for birdwatching with diverse species like woodpeckers and owls.
Love love LOVE this trail. It's off the beaten path a little, and I've never seen it crowded during the week. Lots beautiful flora and fauna. Our favorites to see are the deer and the Sherman fox squirrels. They have paved and dirt paths, and it intersects with the Florida Trail. People seem to be good about following leash laws for the most part here.
Laura S — Google review
Post church hike, beautiful and peaceful. Several trails to choose from to fit your goals of walking, mostly loops, 1 out and back, and a few other state trails intersecting. Only problem, people don't consistently pick up their dogs poop.
Kimberly H — Google review
Nice paved walking trail. Beautiful fresh air. There is disc golf in the center. Benches for breaks. I recommend bringing drinks. Certain times of the year Blackberries grow wild all over. The trail also connects to the Greenway park but you better have some energy if you plan on all that. It's a long walk.
Chad W — Google review
Located in what otherwise appears to be just another Florida suburban neighborhood, the Banyan Road Trailhead is a delightful surprise! This well developed access to the Florida Greenway System provides entry to a network of paved walkways through gently rolling terrain that comprises a mix of forest and meadow environments. People of all ages and abilities can easily enjoy a walk, wheelchair excursion or bike ride here. The network of interconnected and well marked trails allows one to enjoy a long or short experience. The Florida Trail itself passes through this amazing property adding yet another dimension of scalability that is truly epic! Every neighborhood should be so lucky to have a place such as this!

The trail is paved and relatively flat, making it a good option for hikers, bikers, and horseback riders of all skill levels. It is also a popular spot for birdwatching, as the Greenway is home to a variety of bird species, including woodpeckers, owls, and hawks. The trail is also a good option for people of all skill levels, making it a great place to enjoy the outdoors with family and friends.

Silver Springs State Park is a historic Florida attraction with crystal clear spring runs, offering glass-bottom boat tours to spot turtles and alligators. The park features an on-site museum showcasing the area's natural history and a re-created 19th-century pioneer settlement. Visitors can enjoy activities such as kayaking, canoeing, and stand-up paddleboarding while encountering diverse local wildlife including manatees and turtles.
Magical. Simply magical. My husband and I had the most wonderful and relaxing time paddle boarding and kayaking here. It’s easy to book on their website (read all the instructions before you go) and super convenient. They supply the paddleboard and kayak and then even pick you and your equipment up downriver at the end of your journey to drive you back up to the parking lot. It’s a decent amount of time depending on how you pace it, for us at a super easy pace it was a bit over 3 hrs so definitely bring water! But man…what an amazing adventure. From the second you push off the rest of the world melts away and you are literally engulfed in Florida’s natural splendor. Beautifully shaped trees, crystal clear water, large fish and turtles swimming under you, gorgeous birds preening on tree stumps, diving for fish or soaring overhead and occasional crocodiles and even manatees! If you’re afraid of the heat, we went in August and it actually wasn’t so bad because there is so much shade on both sides all the way down the river to stay under. But for a half day adventure? Totally worth it! Just 3 hours of floating and relaxing and wondering at the beauty around you. Please, please, please. If you get the chance or are in the vicinity, stop and swing by. If you want to reserve a kayak or paddle board definitely do so on their website in advance. But either way, put this on your list. It’s so breathtaking and absolutely worth it 👍

My wife and I were able to return to Silver Springs State Park and take one of the glass bottom boat tours this time. We definitely recommend taking the 90 minute tour as opposed to the 30 minute one. Our captain and guide, T.C., did an excellent job telling us about the history of the park and the details of the springs. He also pointed out the wildlife and gave us details about the ecosystem. We were fortunate to see a number of the animals that inhabit the river including manatees, alligators, monkeys, and numerous wading birds. After the boat ride, we had lunch at the cafe and were impressed with the food quality and prices. This is a great place to spend the day.

It’s my favorite springs on central Florida. Crystal clear water with amazing biodiversity. If you are traveling with family definitely go on the glass bottom boat tour. For couples, I highly recommend the clear kayak tours.
Enes K — Google review
What a beautiful place. We went to the park and rode the 90 minutes Glass bottom boat for the very reasonable senior discounted price of $25 a person. Captain Luke was knowledgeable and funny. It was a really nice boat ride. We saw anhingas, turtles, alligators, monkeys and several other birds. What a beautiful place. I'm glad that it is a state park. We are lucky to have such a nice place

Absolutely beautiful park with crystal clear water - you can see the bottom from anywhere on the river. It is a very slow flow River that makes for an easy canoe trip. It takes about 1.5 hours to do the loop. There are lots of fish, turtles, and fish to see. We were lucky enough to run upon a baby manatee that we were able to follow for 15 minutes.

Amazing park! Only $2 entrance fee with beautiful, highly accessible trails where you can view the springs and occasionally see monkeys! We walked around a bit and then stopped for lunch where we had a delicious smoked gouda and green apple grilled sandwich and then a side of sliced cucumbers and pita chips with hummus. They also had a full bar menu available! Beautiful gift shop, Welcome Center and boat ride or kayak rentals available. This park has recently undergone renovations and they really did a beautiful job.

Beautiful park! Loved the glass bottom boat. Wish we had paddle boarded or kayaked because the water was beautiful! It’s so easy to access, with lots of parking, and various areas to spread out for picnic or walks. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area. We did see lots of turtles, gators, birds but heard manatees are there during cooler months.

I love staying at the cabins here, this time was 4 nights. Accommodations are sometimes a bit imperfect (room for 6 but not always beds for 6, and I always bring extra pillows and blankets. Kitchens are complete and the patio and outdoor settings are perfect. Love the hiking trails and museum. So relaximg here. At the main park can't miss the glass bottom boat tour, kayaking down the 5 mile silver river, so much more to do than that. If you want peaceful family bonding time in nature, this place is whsre to go.

It boasts walking trails, a 3/4-mile bike trail, restrooms, and nearby stores for convenient picnic supply purchases.
Great park! Pet friendly- on a leash. Small board walk to the sink hole/spring. Very cool to see.

Reserved the playground pavilion for my daughter's 16th birthday, we held a paint party. While the atmosphere and playground are amazing, the whole park smelled like a zoo, of feces or something. It was pretty gross and wafted into the pavilion every so often. It definitely put a damper on the party a bit. And the bathrooms were pretty gross as well. But otherwise it was ok.

Nice place for a picnic. Kids playground. Safe. Busy on weekends. Pretty area. Clean bathroom.

My daughter and I absolutely loved it. Place was full of nature ,and life so many people celebrate birthdays playing at the playgrounds. The spring was beautiful. we really had a great time here today. It's a great place to sit in the grass and have a quiet picnic as well!! What a great find.

Loved the vibe, wish it was a little more secluded. Lots of things to do to stay busy, kind of disappointed in the" spring" being a sinkhole. Still pretty.

I took a couple of minutes out of my day to find some shade and a place to enjoy lunch. Behind Walmart, there’s a park called Scott Springs, and we decided to pull up there. It’s a beautiful park with plenty of trees and shade, making it a perfect spot to relax. There are quite a few activities available if you’re athletic, and I personally enjoyed driving through the park and reading the cultural billboards—they were very interesting. Once we arrived at the picnic areas, we parked in the shade and had our lunch surrounded by the beautiful trees. I couldn’t see the water from where we were, but I know it’s nearby. My only concern is that there’s a building—something directly behind the park—that might detract from the overall experience. I hope they’re able to put up some kind of divider to separate the park from this large warehouse building, so it doesn’t take away from the natural beauty of the space.

Beautiful park.except for the park manager bill.if he thinks that u might be homeless. He will make up a crazy rule as to why u can't be there and try to make u leave.ie.parking a half inch over in spot.if he thinks u are using a trash can.yes using a trash can.but when he receives complaints about the male prostitution problem.and the older men exposing themselves. Bill likes to blame it on how people park?.I also have a butane propane and charcoal grills.and every time i have tried to use them for my kids party.bill said they are not allowed? He also likes to yell at the kids for being loud when they play....at...the....park.this is been going on way to long why does he believe he has such power?

Baseline Trailhead Park in Ocala, Florida, is a fantastic family-friendly haven that invites visitors to immerse themselves in the great outdoors. With its well-kept multi-use trails perfect for walking, biking, and wheeling, this park offers an array of activities for everyone. Families can enjoy picnic areas and playgrounds while fitness stations provide opportunities for exercise amidst nature's beauty.
Went here for hiking. Started out on the FL Trail. Wasn't that much to see at first, but about 2 mi in, it got really interesting. The flat terrain changed to rolling hills, there was a large area for Frisbee golf, and then the Marshall Swamp Trail, which literally ends up going right thru the swamp. There were several bridges, and some muddy spots, but I really enjoyed it. I had to head back, as I had plans for later. Overall it was a 7.13 mi hike. I will be going back, only next time I'll start out on the Marshall Swamp Tr and go to the end (hopefully...).

Had a birthday party here and everyone had a great time! The kids loved the park and the pavilion was nice. My only suggestion would be to add fans to the restrooms, it was extremely hot and stuffy in there.

Awesome green space in Ocala! Miles of trails, both natural and paved, and an awesome designated 5K loop! There is also an amazing playground and several picnic pavilions. Keep an eye out for local wildlife: deer, Fox Squirrels, and Dung Beetles with their treasures! Great place to get those steps in!

The playground area is well maintained. The paved walking/running/biking trails are also well maintained and very wide. Beautiful scenery and a great way to get some exercise. There are benches throughout the park for resting while on a walk.

Nice park with hiking trails, unique playground equipment, picnic tables, pavilions, and pickleball courts. Dog friendly too.
Valerie L — Google review
Initially, this would be a great park for families with really neat trails for children to follow. It has inventive, creative, and adaptive playground pieces for differently-aged children. They have pickleball courts which are very well maintained and a separate volleyball sand court. HOWEVER, they have allowed indigent people to remain in parking areas and in picnic areas -some even lounging in hammocks tied to posts along with all their belongings strowed all over the covered pavilions. Bathrooms also need extra attention. Missed opportunity for return visit.
Terry H — Google review
I used the park for a place to walk and enjoy the beauty of the area. I felt safe and enjoyed every minute. There were people there enjoying the Pickle Courts, Tennis Courts and Basketball Courts. There were also places to play Volleyball, and a playground for the kids. The areas were spread out, so very good for social distancing now.

Very nice park. There is something for the whole family there.
Criss C — Google review
We reserved a small pavilion for our daughter's birthday. The pavilions could be closer to the play area, however it is only a short walk. You can't see the kids from the pavilion so you must have someone at the pavilion & at the playground to supervise. The play area is all new and much larger than it was before. The bathrooms are near the pavilions. We usually do parties at Baseline Trailhead park however this park is not as crowded.
Michelle — Google review
We had a lot of fun here. There are tennis and handball courts that are part of this park, as well as several pavilions with plenty of picnic benches, a bathroom facility that was very clean, a “big kids area” and a “little tikes play area” - all hidden from each other by paved walkways shaded by trees. The play areas had plenty of seating for parents needing a rest. When you first drive in, stay to the left (there is signage to help guide you) and then park by the pavilions. *park here* when you exit the car it is not obvious at first where the kids stuff is. Walk past the pavilions down the paths and you will eventually find it. The big kid stuff comes up first, all wrapped around in the trails and the little tikes stuff is towards the back - further down the trail- but then opens up. most photos we took were of the little tikes play area.

Nice park. Clean and lots of places for kids to run around. Has concrete sheltered picnic areas with BBQ grills. Lots of tennis courts. Peaceful. Good AT&T cell coverage. Entrance sign says "No Domestic Animals". Had a few laughs with that one.

Raven ( — Google review
My husband, our 14-year-old, and our 11-year-old grandchild, and myself had a lovely visit to Tuscawilla Art Park. We enjoyed exploring the sculptures, reading about each piece, and taking in the inspirational quotes along the walkway. The park is beautiful and well-maintained, making for a peaceful and inspiring outing. One of the highlights was watching our grandchild on the stage, pretending to give a grand speech about the art in the park—while our 14-year-old assisted with interpretive movements and poses to add to the comedy. It was such a sweet and hilarious moment that made the day even more memorable. The park was smaller than we expected, and we wished there were more art pieces to discover. The kids also thought it would be fun if there was at least a sign suggesting how many hidden items are tucked away in the wall and arch, even if it didn’t say exactly what they are. Overall, it’s a beautiful space and a wonderful way to enjoy art outdoors. We left with smiles and a deeper appreciation for the creativity in the community.

The Marion County Fair is an annual event that takes place in the fall, offering more than a week of enjoyable activities and competitions suitable for the whole family. The fair boasts a variety of rides, although some may be considered less reliable, and offers a selection of fresh-squeezed lemonade. While the food available is deemed to be of good quality, it is also considered to be on the pricier side.
I mean it’s a fair. The rides are shady, the food is overpriced, the lemonade is fresh squeezed…. it’s amazing. The food is GOOD but overpriced but the unlimited ride wrist band is worth it based on the price of tickets and how many tickets each ride costs. Plus it’s like stupid easy to get stuck trying to win a goldfish at the games.

This is by far the best trails that I have ever been to. I used to live up North for a very long time in the mountains. And we still never had anything as big or as nice as this. Everything is also very well maintained. And they have something for every skill level, regardless of if you're a master, godlike man on the bike or just starting that day. They got spots for you to have a lunch. Sit down to eat at a table when you're done for the day riding your bike hard. They got a wash rack. You'd actually clean your bike down with a hose. And all kinds of little warm up/training tracks right by the parking lot. It's not many better ways to spend your day around Ocala than they hit up the trails here at Santos.
Mike B — Google review
We stayed at site number one for five nights total. The site was recently cleared but there were branches that broke off the trees that got hung up on other branches directly over top of our picnic table and fire pit. For this reason, we did not feel safe using the table or fire pit. On Thursday my wife was doing dishes and said that someone was touching our power box, opening it up, looking at our surge protector and then walked off. I went outside to ask the person what they were doing. They stated that they were checking it and that they work there. We both feel that the person should have knocked on our door before touching our stuff. We would have had a better time if we could have had a safe fire pit area and some common curiosity from that staff member. It's a nice place to stay and camp out. I would recommend staying here for sure, especially if you like riding bicycles!
Jason L — Google review
Stayed for 4 nights at site #25 and had a pretty good experience. All the sites were occupied and yet it was super quiet even with a main roadway about a quarter mile away. My site was a spacious back in that was graveled, had a picnic table, fire pit, power and water. There was mostly field but the one tree we had shaded us well. Our neighbors weren’t close so I felt like there was pretty good privacy. Water was clean but the pressure was a little weak I thought. Power was stable. The staff were friendly and always on the move making sure the place was kept up. Bathhouse was clean with good hot water. There’s only one shower in the men’s side, but two for the woman. There’s not park store but there is a bike shop across from the entrance that sell ices and fire wood. Local supermarkets and the like were within 5 miles if you really need anything you didn’t bring. The bike trails were well maintained seemed to go on forever. If you are mountain biker you will be in mt. bike heaven. The multi use paved trail is 15 miles one way. Thanks Santos campground staff for making this an amazing stay.
Edgar J — Google review
Great little campground next to the trails at Santos in Ocala. 25 sites and 1 bathroom. Last star was for facilities as the men's room had 1 toilet. Campground roads are well paved and sites are decently level. Close access to hiking, paved biking, walking and some of the best mountain bike trails in Florida made the campground a must stay. If the facilities were improved and cleaned more regularly I would move here happily. Close stores for food and necessities as well as thrift stores and antiques.
Paul S — Google review
My family and I took a Sabbath nature walk here. It's Absolutely beautiful!!! It's also a bike trail. Lots of beautiful scenery and nature. They have bathrooms on site which weren't bad. Picnic tables under gazebos and plenty of open space for the little ones to run and play. Highly recommend checking it out.

This is by far one of my favorite campgrounds. Very small with only 25ish sites. Each camp spots has lots of space. Very quiet. The hiking and biking trails were a perfect way to spend the week. The restrooms and shower were very nice and always clean. Each site does have electric and water hook up. There is a dump station at the campground. It is very close to restaurants and grocery stores but you feel like you ate out in the country.

Letty Towles Dog Park in Ocala, Florida is a popular destination for dog owners and their pets. The park features two large off-leash areas that are fully fenced with plenty of shade. There are separate sections for small and large dogs, as well as swimming pools, watering bowls, and poop bags available. Additionally, there's a shaded area for pet owners to socialize while their furry friends play. Best of all, this fantastic park is free to visit!
Excellent Park, very well maintained. Rover and I run around the perimeter there every day except Wednesday and Thursday when they are closed. Just watch out for the big dogs. A couple are aggressive, and if your dog is mauled, contact the park department immediately and make a report. Rover was mauled last year, and it took a while before the aggressive dog was banned, and the owner paid up.
The P — Google review
I have been coming here for years, but for some reason every time I come now, the park is closed. They used to have it closed Tuesdays and Thursdays. Now it’s Wednesdays and Thursdays. There is never a newsletter that goes about these kind of changes. The park is hardly patrolled and a lot of people have had their dogs fight other dogs that I’ve had to personally get involve and separate. They either need to have a ranger on duties and not just in call, at all times, and keep the park open 7 days a week. It’s entirely pointless to close this park 2 days out of the week if it’s not even being properly watched or maintained.
Marina W — Google review
My dog loves it but there are a few regulars that go there who's dogs pretty much rule the park and are dominant. I've had to stop a scuffle twice, and both times the dog owner did not correct his dog, and copped a bit of an attitude after that. My dog is overly friendly/submissive and playful. I would be devastated if she got seriously hurt. The 2 dogs in particular that are dominant always hang out at the covered area where the benches are. I stopped going after my dogs feet were somehow affected by something in the sand where the open sand pit is. Her pads became swollen and hot to the touch. I soaked her feet in cool baking soda water and that seemed to help. Not sure yet if I will go back.
Sushilover40 — Google review
This park is in terrible condition. Closed on Wed and Thru for what reason? Nothing seems to be done to make the park better. Recently an outbreak of Kennel cough in the small dog area caused at least 10 dogs to be sick and my dog was one of them. I spend hundreds of dollars at the vet to treat him. There should be a sign posted letting people know of the outbreak. The virus spreads very quickly.
Ron E — Google review
Does this place really need to be closed two days per week? It's the only dog park in Marion county that I can find. I've never heard of a dog park being closed, so it's difficult to remember that it's closed. And then you get the kids and dogs and yourself excited to go, only to get there and it's closed.
J — Google review
Smokey loves it, he plays with the big dogs. Tons of room to run around, swimming pools and watering bowls are placed around and poop bags are also there. They have two separate areas for dogs under 18" tall, and an area for dogs over 18". Shaded area for fur babies mom's and dads to converse in talking about our babies. I have had hours of wonderful conversations, it's nice to have a place like this so we can communicate and watch our puppies without fear. And , can you believe it, it's free!!!

Letty Towles Dog Park is definitely a great place for socializing your puppy. We went on a Sunday afternoon and there were about 6-8 dogs at any given time. Everyone there seemed really friendly and their dogs were too. You definitely have to keep an eye on your pup in the event there is a skiddish dog. The park is separated into two sections, one for big dogs and one for smaller dogs. I had the pleasure of using the big dog section. There is plenty of room for your dog to run and play fetch. The park is clean and well maintained. There is a sprinkler and baby pools for your pups if it’s too warm. There is water bowls with fresh and clean water. Plenty of shade (pavilion & trees) as well so you’re not completely exposed to the sun. There are sitting areas that are spread apart throughout the park so you aren’t on top of other people. Definitely a must go, if you are a dog parent!

The Florida Trail Land Bridge Trailhead is a beautiful and diverse hiking trail that offers designated areas for walking, biking, and horseback riding. Visitors can enjoy a 3-mile walk on pavement to return to the starting point.
The trail is beautiful, with many large, gorgeous trees. It's well marked and well maintained. We did the orange trail out to the landbridge and the blue trail back for a loop of around 3.3 miles. We added some by walking over the landbridge.
