Fuggerei is a historic public housing complex that has been in operation since the 16th century and features an on-site museum. The city center, where Fuggerei is located, also boasts attractions such as the town hall, street fountains, Weberhaus, numerous churches, a zoo and botanical garden, a football stadium, Mozart's house, MAN museum, Zeughaus, Maximilianmuseum and Riegele beer museum.
Such a unique and interesting place! It’s the world’s oldest social housing complex, and you can really feel the history walking through the little streets. The apartments are tiny and cozy, and it’s cool to see how people lived here for the past hundreds of years and so. Keep in mind though that people still live there! There’s also a few little museums inside some of the residences that go over the story of how the place started, how they lived, struggles, etc. As well as a bunker that you can explore. Definitely worth a quick visit if you’re in Augsburg!

Went on a Augsburg Fugger Tour. Last stop was the Fuggerei. Have always been curious about it and it's history. Quite amazing that it still exists till this day an age and functioning the same way it always has. Absolutely incredible. The grounds are extremely well kept and just a beautiful part of living history. Must go when you visit Augsburg. After the tour you can also visit tiny beer garden by the entrance.
Philicia — Google review
Really cool to hear about how this social housing was started. The people can live here for €1 per year, and just have to be Catholic, pray everyday, and be in need. It’s definitely worth the €8 entrance fee.
Vintage H — Google review
It was a wonderful experience visiting the world’s oldest public housing. We went on a weekday morning, and the atmosphere was calm and peaceful, which made exploring even more enjoyable. Purchasing the ticket at the entrance was simple, and the site itself was easy to navigate. The area is beautifully maintained, with so much attention to detail that you really feel immersed in its rich history. Walking through the space gives you a true sense of cultural heritage, and it’s both educational and inspiring. I would definitely recommend this visit to anyone interested in culture and history—it’s a unique opportunity to step back in time and experience something truly special.
Masnita G — Google review
I visited The Fuggerei on two different trips, once in 2010 and then again in 2023. It's a neat experience with in Augsburg and i definitely recommend checking it out. The history here is interesting for sure and the architecture in germany in general always amazes me. I would recommend tickets in advance, although was not busy when we went. My aunt had picked them up ahead of time for us.
Mark L — Google review
Fuggerei in Augsburg is often touted as a must-see historical site, but unless you’re deeply interested in social housing history, it’s largely underwhelming. The quaint buildings and quiet atmosphere feel more like a sleepy neighborhood than a captivating attraction. The real standout is the WWII bunker—an unexpectedly compelling and haunting part of the visit. It offers a chilling, immersive look into wartime life and far surpasses the rest of the experience. If you’re nearby and curious, stop by for the bunker, but otherwise, it’s probably not worth going out of your way.
Keerthy N — Google review
A fascinating historical place that is definitely worth visiting. It beautifully combines the charm of the past with the spirit of the present. I loved the peaceful atmosphere and the feeling of stepping back in time. The houses and small museums provide a wonderful glimpse into old life, and everything is well organized for visitors. Highly recommended when in Augsburg.

The Augsburger Puppenkiste, established in 1948 within the 17th-century Heilig-Geist-Spital, is a renowned puppet theater in Augsburg. It offers marionette performances for children and more sophisticated shows for adults in the evenings. The theater gained popularity through televised adaptations of fairytales and children's books. Visitors can also explore a museum, gift shop, and restaurant on-site.
An absolute must-visit in Augsburg! The Augsburger Puppenkiste is a magical place full of nostalgia and charm. The craftsmanship of the puppets and the storytelling are incredible, making it enjoyable for both kids and adults. The theater itself is cozy and has a great atmosphere, bringing classic fairy tales and stories to life in a unique way. The museum is also worth a visit if vou want to learn more about the history behind the famous marionettes. Whether you're visiting with family or just appreciate traditional puppet theater, this place is definitely worth it!

Anyone interested in pupeting will love this place. Take the tour with the tour guide to really learn the ins and outs. Our guide was superb and very knowledgeable. The puppets that have been used in many shows were on display. Definitely a worthwhile visit. don't forget the show it was also very enjoyable
Dale G — Google review
Very beautifully made puppets . These were used to make the old cartoons and story books. The exhibition is small . There was a wall projected some introduction thing at the begining . When I pressed it to see , a guide who was explaining to a group came over and turned if off. I found is offensive and overall didn't find the place that worthy to spend 5 eur . One can probably check out the photos at Google maps for this place .

Perfect getaway from the rain in Augsburg these days. Worth the price for a unique experience.

Extraordinary craftsmanship in every display and so much history in every piece. Would have loved to see a puppet show, but that's for the next adventure. Be sure to sign the guestbook!

Went to explore the puppet museum, which was very impressive, due to the details of each single puppet. Finally enjoyed the "Der Ring der Nibelungen", which was the first performance after Covid lockdown. By the way, it was an excellent show.

Simply magic place to be, both as a kid or adult. This puppet theater is a cultural visit card of Augsburg. It has a huge history and yet every season surprises with the new program. Must see in Augsburg! Puppet theater art mostly vanished in the modern Europe, so this theater is a unique preserve of century old fairy tales traditions. It needs your support, give yourself and your kids this joy. And it will pay back with the vast emotions On the photo the heros of “The story of Little Muck” EN / “Der kleine Muck” DE

Augsburg Zoo, situated in Augsburg, Germany, is a renowned destination featuring a wide array of animals and a strong dedication to preservation and learning. Established in 1937, the zoo covers over 22 hectares and houses about 1,600 animals from approximately 300 species worldwide. The zoo offers diverse exhibits such as tigers, elephants, and rare birds. It also provides interactive experiences and educational programs aimed at promoting awareness about wildlife and environmental concerns.
Spring time is one of the best time to visit the Zoo...there are so many offspring. We had a great time!
Zsuzsanna B — Google review
I highly recommend visiting this place! It’s a beautiful spot for a walk, with plenty of space to explore and enjoy. I visited during the winter, so it was quite cold, and we didn’t get to see many animals like giraffes, elephants, and a few others. However, the experience was still lovely, and I’m sure it would be even better in warmer seasons when more animals are out. Definitely worth a visit!
FantaSticJatsKy — Google review
Nice smaller zoo. Lots of animals. Fair entry price. Not the biggest and best but great. Advertise feeding times. We where lucky to catch the seelions. Staff was friendly and helpfull at the entrance and shops. Except at the Maki's. Totally rude and unwilling to speak anything other than German. Not understanding each other leads to situations that need to be avoided. And yes I understand you but don't speak it good enouf. I'm not deducting a point for the incident but hope you speak to your staff! Instruction can be given in a friendly manor and in example English.
Clipson P — Google review
Such a nice amazing place I loved it 😍 In this season they didn't have many animals because it's winter so they made a light show thing that looks amazing 😍 I recommend going after it's dark because that's when the lights open ❤️❤️❤️
Ece'nin D — Google review
We first went there on a Public holiday and it was impossible. There was no parking, the cue was very very long. I guess one could wait upto two hours. We decided to go back home and reschedule. We went back on a Thursday and it was worth it. Entrance fee was 14 euros for adults. We parked close to the entrance and there was no cue at all. We arrived one at 16:00 and the zoo closes at 17:00 thus we had to rush. It was around feeding time and it was interesting. We enjoyed the walk around the zoo and the animals were looking healthy and well taken care of. Some few walk ways were closed and the restaurant too. We could not see some animals. The play ground is huge and for all age groups though we could not use it due to time. Some animals were already indoor due to the changing weather example giraffe, zebra and Elephant Overall it was a good experience and we shall go back in summer.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Augsburg Zoo, and I must say that it was a truly enjoyable experience. The first thing that struck me was the impeccable maintenance of the zoo. The pathways were clean and well-maintained, and the entire facility had a welcoming atmosphere. One of the highlights of Augsburg Zoo was undoubtedly the care and attention given to the animals. Most of the animals appeared to be happy and healthy, which is a testament to the dedicated staff who work tirelessly to ensure their well-being. It was heartwarming to see them in their habitats, engaging in natural behaviors and interacting with each other. The zoo offers a wide variety of animal species, ranging from local fauna to exotic creatures from around the world. This diversity was particularly appealing, as it provided a great educational opportunity for children to learn about different species and their habitats. It was a joy to see the fascination in their eyes as they observed these magnificent animals up close. However, I did notice that a few of the exotic animals seemed slightly agitated during my visit. While this was a minor concern, I sincerely hope that the zoo's dedicated team is working to alleviate any distress they may be experiencing. It's essential to prioritize the well-being and comfort of all the animals, and I trust that the zoo is taking appropriate measures to address any issues. The zoo's amenities were also worth mentioning. There were well-placed seating areas and picnic spots throughout the park, providing ample opportunities for families to take a break and enjoy their surroundings. Additionally, the availability of refreshments and snacks made it convenient for visitors to stay energized during their visit. Overall, Augsburg Zoo is a fantastic place to spend a day with the family. The well-maintained facilities, happy and healthy animals, and the educational experiences it offers make it a great choice for both young and old. While there were a few animals that appeared agitated, I believe the zoo is committed to their welfare. I wholeheartedly recommend Augsburg Zoo for a memorable and enriching outing for the whole family.

(April experience of visiting). It was nice diversity of the tulips and I guess garden surprising full year. Was lucky to see the cleanest Japanese garden area with blooming sakura 🌸 It’s beautiful spot of the city, deserves an attention
Natalie O — Google review
Very nice place with a reasonable entry fee paid at the entrance. There are lockers located to the right just after the entrance if you need them. The Japanese Garden is a highlight, but also the large green with furniture near the cafe and play areas are a lovely place to rest on a sunny afternoon.
Marques — Google review
Beutifull Botanical Garden. Not small but not so big. There are some rest places with chairs and sometimes with tabkes, so people can rest take some food with and to eat on the nature. Also there are some cafe on the territory of Garden, so people can eat something to drink bear or coffee, or to eat ice cream. Good place to visit with children. It's cost only 4 EUR. I think the best time to visit it's spring, when there are will be a lot flowers.

I can’t tell how much I love this place. The fresh air, lush green trees, and peaceful atmosphere make it perfect for a relaxing walk on a sunny day. The Japanese garden is a true work of art.

Perlach Tower, standing at an impressive 70 meters (230 feet), is a must-visit landmark in Augsburg that boasts a rich history dating back to 1182. Originally constructed as a watchtower in the 10th century, this iconic structure has evolved over the years and now features a stunning onion dome and carillon. Adventurous visitors can ascend its 261 steps to reach the panoramic viewing gallery, where breathtaking vistas of the city await.
A great place to climb when you are visiting Augsburg. You can get a view of the entire city from inside the tower and learn some history too. It's only €2 entry (I think) so it's definitely worth it!

another architectural piece from Elias Holl, built as a watchtower in the Imperialera. 70 m high with St.Peter's church. it's closed totaly for renovation, and it was unfortunate not to could witness the Town panoramic view.

Sam T — Google review
FYI, closed from October 31 until April. It’s not listed on the tourism website or the google listing. It’s posted right at the entry door. Would love to give it a higher rating, but we drove quite a distance for naught. The rest of the city is nice enough, though.
Todd O — Google review
About 400 steps you need to climp to have the most memorable view over Augsburg. The tower guards can tell you witty anecdotes (they even sell for some euros a small book with interesting details on the tower's hitory), for children they have honorary certificate for climing the tower and with good weather you can see in the South the beautiful Alps. <3

Amazing and just the right size. I took the grandkids (9, 5, 4). We stayed for about 3 hrs. They wanted to come back the next day! There is a nice model train area and some train engines the kids can climb into and pretend play. Everything is beautifully maintained. I was never particularly fascinated by trains before but I fell in love with some of the ones in the museum. Voila, one is never too old for love!

While not as varied as Koblenz or vastly comprehensive as Nordlingen, this railway 'park' (as it is termed) has a good, small collection of locomotives. There are no carriages to inspect as at Koblenz. If you're a train lover it's worth a visit, just be aware it has very limited operating hours.

The Fugger and Welser Erlebnismuseum in Augsburg is a fascinating museum dedicated to the influential merchant families, the Fuggers and Welsers. These families made significant impacts on not only Augsburg but also Europe and beyond. The museum provides an immersive experience through movies, ambient sound, projections, and interactive displays that bring the period to life. Visitors can learn about the families' dominance in European copper economy and their expansion into new German territories in the Americas like Venezuela.
Very interesting exhibition about the Fugger and Welser families and their place in history. The exhibition is extremely well made, with interactive displays, which let bygone times come to life and really support the understanding of the displays and the retention of knowledge. Thus it is not only recommended for children, but adults alike.

The MAN Museum Augsburg is a fascinating attraction that celebrates the legacy of Rudolf Diesel, the creator of the first diesel engine. The museum showcases a collection of historical artifacts, including photos, models, and machinery that trace the evolution of the diesel engine since its inception in 1895. In addition to highlighting Diesel's achievements, the museum also features exhibits related to MAN's earlier products such as printing presses. Visitors can explore displays depicting the company's history and development through a photographic timeline representation.
If you are interrested not only in car, sou will like this museum. Because MAN is not only about the cars. So in this museum you can see engines from a late history, from first diesel. To very new one. You can see here few truck from history and a lot of type of diesel engines. In second floor you will find a lot of pictures from the past of the company. And a lot of models of different type of engines. When you want visit this museum, you have to register for visit. Entry is free and parking lot is near the museum. And nice staf is really helpful and they descript for you basic history of the company and they first diesel engine. I can really recomend this museum if you like this type o machine.
Filip H — Google review
The museum is on the smaller end, but offers some nice operational engines and gear systems with some of the original trucks and other vehicles. There was no entry ticket. The museum has two large hall sections and the whole thing can be covered within an afternoon. There is also a foosball table to found among the trucks.
Umair M — Google review
Great museum proud to be a old employee of this organisation. You can find history of Diesel and his patents in this museum and his used personal belongings. MAN is a A1 supplier of marine engines all over the world. It has number 1 casting facilities at their AUGSBURG office and best canteen at Augsburg office.
Venkata P — Google review
It is a small representation of the history of the MAN company. It is more focused on the first years of the company specialy in the development of the old printing machines and the first diesel engines. But also there are examples of MAN vehicles and a photographic timeline representation from the beginnings until almost nowadays. The museum is in a very good condition and the entrance is free. I really recommend, to people that are in the Augsburg area and have free time, visiting the museum.

Adriana F — Google review
Firstly, parking is very close in an underground carpark, but expensive. The entrance is inconspicuous, the museum is ‘hidden’ in a main street building. Be sure to bring a euro or two for a locker, where you ‘must’ put your bag and coat. Over four floors the museum is well spread, detailed and quite fascinating. I took an 18 month and 6 year old, it wasnt such a problem, especially when the younger one slept. There is a lift. The staff were attentive, a little too ‘rule friendly’ but happy to help. The planetary show didnt function when we were there unfortunately.

A place to enjoy traditional Bavarian food right in the Rathaus building. On the time of our visit, the hall was empty, all guests were seated in the yard. The weather was warm and sunny, and the whole experience would be great if not one small detail - smoking is allowed in the open area and as some guests were smoking the odor was reaching to our table with the slight wind. The menu is huge, nobody will stay hungry. Kid's menu is great! We weren't very hungry, so we ordered only two dishes - traditional potato cream-soup / Kartoffelcremesuppe (5.7€) for me and traditional Swabian meat dumplings / Maultaschen (11.4€) for my sister. I liked the sweet and savory taste of the Sauerkraut added to the soup, while the soup was a bit heavy and less creamy than I had in other cities in Germany. The dumplings were tender, the potatoes were crispy and the gravy was complimenting the dish just right. I think it would be good to visit this place again (and have a table in the hall), maybe at a little bit later hour, and try one of the traditional desserts this place offers.

I had fun visiting this coffee, cake and chocolate place. It is the perfect place where you can hid in a crowd and do some people watching. The sitting area is really large and when it is full it reverberates with human chatter and laughter. The cake selection is quite big, more of the classic type of cakes and although there is nothing truly spectacular about them, they are tasty. The drink menu is generous and the service is prompt but not overly friendly.

We enjoyed out breakfast here so much that we went back to have coffee and cake in the afternoon. ✅ The restaurant has an „old-world“ charm and a great location in the middle of Augsburg. ✅ The staff is really friendly and quick. ✅ The breakfast with fresh baked breads (Broetchen) and fresh ingredients tastes very good. ✅ The cake we tried, Black Forrest and Mango Chocolate, was very good and no to sweet. What we really appreciated was the staff member who took her duty seriously and told an old woman (who took off her mask and then started coughing and not covering her face) to please put on her mask. I don’t understand why people are so selfish to endanger others by taking of their masks (It works in Asia why not in the West?) and having the audacity to then start coughing / sneezing not thinking about the rest of us.
T S — Google review
We had breakfast here on a Sunday at the start of November. On this day the only served their special “Frühstück I’m glas” for 25€ a person. Overall, I think I would have been quite happy with a normal breakfast, but it was a nice idea. Sad the water and coffee aren’t included in the price. But juices and smoothies are. The staff seemed very stressed and at times we felt rather forgotten. The food in the small jars was all quite nice, however the warm items, of which we tried soup and scrambled eggs. Maybe there were more options but we couldn’t find out as there was no list and the staff were to busy. Once I finally got some scrambled eggs it was brought to me cold. You could get a new plate of cheese and charcuterie so you be hungry. It is an expensive breakfast, and the experience could be better with a menu of warm options and staff less rushed of their feet!

Nestled in the heart of Augsburg, Germany, St. Peter am Perlach is a stunning Catholic church that dates back to the 11th century. This architectural gem, along with its iconic tower known as the Perlachturm, stands as one of the city's most significant landmarks. The church's interior features captivating decorations and houses a unique depiction of Mary untying knots from a white ribbon—a symbol that has resonated deeply with many around the globe, including Pope Francis himself.

St. Peter am Perlach is a Catholic church in Augsburg, Germany, best known as the home of the famous Baroque painting “Mary Untier of Knots” (Maria Knotenlöserin). Here’s how they connect: 🕍 St. Peter am Perlach A Romanesque church located in Augsburg, Bavaria. Originally built around the 11th century, it has been renovated in different architectural styles through the centuries. Inside the church, there is a special devotion site dedicated to Mary, Untier of Knots. 🎨 Mary, Untier of Knots A Baroque painting created around 1700 by Johann Georg Melchior Schmidtner, an artist of Augsburg. The painting shows the Virgin Mary patiently untying a knotted white ribbon, symbolizing her role in interceding with God to resolve the problems, sins, and difficulties in people’s lives. Around her are angels handing her the ribbon, while the Holy Spirit (as a dove) shines above. The painting reflects an old devotion based on St. Irenaeus of Lyon’s words: > “The knot of Eve’s disobedience was loosed by the obedience of Mary.” 🌍 Devotion’s Spread Though long venerated locally in Augsburg, the devotion became worldwide in the late 20th century. It was particularly popularized by Pope Francis, who encountered the devotion while studying in Germany in the 1980s and later brought it to Argentina. Today, it is one of the most beloved Marian devotions globally, with many people praying to Mary under this title to help “untie the knots” in their lives (difficulties, conflicts, addictions, family struggles, etc.).

This is a very small Church where you can find the most beautiful painting of the Virgin Mary Undoer of Knots, our beautiful Mother. The painting depicts the Virgin Mary taking the knots out of a long white ribbon. Pope Francis does have a special devotion to Our Lady, Undoer of Knots.

The service was friendly but not very present. In my eyes the hotel lost a lot of money. For longer phases guests weren't able to order because there was no staff. One probably also would have to like the "vintage" style of the place. I don't. The food was OK but in terms of value for money one could have expected more. There also was quite a bit of a wait for the food but it was delivered all in one go per table at least.

(Translated by Google) We stayed in the hotel next door with a large group for several days and therefore ate in the Wilde 13 restaurant every day! The food was excellent, friendly service, great ambience, but the price-performance ratio was not always appropriate! For example, the salmon dish is really tiny, and several people didn't get enough of it, even though the price was correspondingly high. As a starter there were always small breads and spreads from the house, which was a very nice gesture! The cocktails were delicious and there was a little play area for the kids! All in all a good restaurant!

This is an absolutely fun place to explore, test your mental strength, physical ability. When I'm looking up those sky walking paths between trees that making me thrill...but quite alluring~ I know I am not gonna make it…

This is a lot of fun. There are paths amongst the trees for pretty much any level up to and including fault challenging paths. There is one route that is zip lines only and is good fun too but your weight needs to exceed 30kg. It's also pleasant just walking around the ground just watching if you need a break. The staff are friendly and very helpful.

The lake is meticulously maintained for recreational activities such as bicycling and jogging, ensuring cleanliness and safety. Additionally, visitors can enjoy dining at the on-site restaurant.
This is a nice lake that has a lot to offer. There are a couple of places where you can get a drink and food. Or it's also the perfect place for a picnic and a lot of people were grilling. I enjoyed the the views for sure. And the walk around the lake is definitely fun and doable. I'm certainly looking forward to return in the summer and hopefully enjoying the water as well. Got lucky that it wasn't too crowded.

Totally loved it here. Great lake for swimming, seeing wildlife and just enjoying a day in the sun. There is a little kiosk that sells food and drink, two play parks and a public toilet. Parking is free and if you come on an overcast day, it's not too busy either. A fabulous day out for all the family.

The Christmas Garden Augsburg is a stunning winter wonderland that captivates visitors with its imaginative lighting and beautifully designed grounds. Set against the backdrop of an impressive 11th-century cathedral, renowned for its Gothic architecture and exquisite medieval stained glass, this enchanting garden offers a magical experience. Guests have praised the friendly staff who enhance the visit with their warm hospitality. While some may find the entrance fee on the higher side, many agree it’s worth every penny to immerse themselves in this festive atmosphere.
Very well organised especially the lighting stuff is incredible , suggesting everybody to visit this beautiful place in the evening

Very good lighting, the trail through the zoo was well marked. Many staffs for help available. The problem I felt was first it was expensive. Ideal price should have been around €15 rather than €25. Lack of food. Only common thing was sausage and glue wine. Would have been great if there were some coffee or some frenchfry options

(Translated by Google) Beautifully designed circular route through the zoo, beautifully illuminated objects accompanied by appropriate music. There are also numerous mulled wine stands throughout the area. Conclusion: It's not a cheap treat, but it's absolutely worth it. It's just a shame that from the last weekend in Advent the entrance fee will increase by another €2 to an impressive €23.50. (Original) Wunderschön gestalteter Rundweg durch den Zoo, sehr schön illuminerte Objekte mit passender Musik untermalt. Außerdem gibt es zahlreiche Glühweinstände auf der ganzen Runde. The Feuerwehrerlebniswelt museum is an engaging and educational destination that offers a variety of attractions suitable for both children and adults. From an earthquake simulator to a 112 dispatcher experience, visitors can immerse themselves in hands-on activities that provide a unique insight into various aspects of emergency services. The friendly staff are also willing to share additional information on the subject matter. With its interesting exhibits and interactive displays, the museum is definitely worth visiting again.
Really cool to teach kids about fire trucks and fire safety in a fun and interactive way! Definitely recommend!
Jayde M — Google review
Fun learning / teaching adventure for kids of all ages. Located in a very large hangar, it houses several smaller fire trucks or parts of, equipment, examples of fire danger and other learning opportunities related to firefighters / first responders duties (eg pulling a car out of a ditch). Kids can climb for a virtual ride in a firetruck or play in the older trucks. They can try to lift the firefighting equipments to compare how heavy it is. They can crawl through a little maze , slide down a firehouse pole, try to extinguish a virtual fire or climb a Jacob’s ladder to test their endurance. Little kids can ride mini trucks around. There’s heavy sponsorship throughout the museum (Abus, smoke detectors, etc) which can sometimes be viewed as more publicity than interactive learning. Restaurant onsite seemed very popular and mostly reserved for lunch. Price can be steep for family but kids truly enjoyed it. Boutique onsite. Free parking around the hangar.
Allanah — Google review
its a big Hangar with a lot of informations on the fire world from equipments, tools machines and safety. it covers almost every aspect of this subject. really very amuzing and educating especially if you have children. a bistro and gift shop is available with a lots of kids activities. two floors of exhibition.
David A — Google review
Was a bit disappointing. I expected more interactive elements. It's a big hangar with a rather static exposition, maybe suitable for a school trip. Not too crowded, but very loud. I would recommend it for kids up to 3 or from 7 up. For kids in between: not enough action and too much information. It's definitely not a must. You won't be regretting it if you never visit. I'm left with a meh 😒

Very nice and interesting area for kids and adults. Quite interesting to see old Firefighting vehicles and old equipment with nice presentation of accidents and fires.

Amazing place for kids. There are a lot of interactive parts. Unfortunately, earthquake simulation didn't work properly, and the fire room was every hour, so we missed that. Tickets for adults are a bit expensive.

The atmosphere is lively with narrow pathways that enhance the authentic market experience. You can also find delightful eateries ranging from street food to cozy mini restaurants where you can enjoy a meal amidst the hustle and bustle.
Fantastic place to shop for fresh meats, produce, cheese, bread, flowers, and other non editable things. There are also places to eat here as well. There are multiple shops to choose from in the Meat Market and the Cheese Market. We come here for lunch at least once every time we're in Augsburg. If you've never been here you should make time to swing by the next time you're in the City Center.

Ron B — Google review
Surprisingly extensive collection and combination of both a normal market and international offers. Includes (among others) baked goods, fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, cheese and antipasto. Offers several opportunities for meals and food as well. Ranging from street-food to mini restaurants. Busy and narrow pathways enhance the "market feeling" on lively days significantly.
Felix P — Google review
Small market nested in the old town and near the town hall, selling fresh fruits/vegetables, local/international products, nice flowers/plants - among other things. It also offers some eating possibilities, ranging from street - food to small restaurants.
Debora P — Google review
Good produce, fresh, regional and friendly people around. Though expensive, compared to a supermarket, I would suggest going there. Meet your local favorite farmer weekly and come out into normal lives like the days before corona. Socialising can be best done in a market, where else to begin with than food? The healthier the food thatyou eat, the stronger you become... Mass produced, cheap, chemical laden, food is as unhealthy, that starving feels healthier.. So time for change.. go sustainable, regional, chemical free, organic, healthy and strong!

Completed in 1643, it boasts magnificent murals, ceiling paintings, and golden wall decorations. Visitors can explore the around 500 m2 hall for a small entrance fee of 2.50 Euros and are provided with an information brochure to delve into its rich history. The mirror trolley allows guests to view the intricate details of the artwork while learning about its significance.
My friend said it was the city's city hall and we went to visit. Tickets are 2.5€ for one adult (as well as tourists). it is a place worth visiting.

A must visit place in Augsburg and hard to miss. You just have to pay a small entrance fee of 2.50 Euros to see the beautiful, magnificent paintings with gold plated decorations. They provide you with an information brochure and a mirror trolley that you need to watch the image as you keep on reading the history. I was amazed to see the richness of the place that they have tried to show through this golden hall. It is worth the time and negligible money.

During my recent adventure, I made a stop at the historic Bismarckturm tower, which offers stunning panoramic views of Augsburg. The journey to the tower was delightful, winding through lush forests filled with exotic plant species in the Exotenwald Diedorf. Nearby, you can also catch glimpses of Hainhofen and Wellenburg castles from outside.
Very interesting spot in Augsburg, beautiful sunrises and sunsets can be seen from here, perfect place to see fireworks all over the city (on various occasions / I witnessed New Year 2024!:) and peaceful spot on just regular days.

Beautiful tower that is opened during weekdays. From the top you can observe big part of Augsburg and the neighborhood. Wonderful view!
Anna K — Google review
Augsburg is really interesting city in that one finds places like this one just a little outside the main city area. On the tower the city is visible and suddenly appears smaller. It makes for great walk from fairly distant car park to walk up. The houses themselves in this town give somewhat a feel of Bavaria being wooden (a few), with typical narrow streets. If you're looking for a WOW experience, well the monument isn't exactly that. However, a place indeed on any day you feel like escaping city life to switch environment.

I would love that interior reflects the exterior but sadly that isn't so. Yes it's free and you can climb on top, but inside is all full or graffiti and dirt and just isn't what it was supposed to be. The pluses: nicely located place in the green zone; Minuses: The chicken burger was average. It was more bread with chicken and salad. These days burgers are much more tastier and complicated (check any burger-restaurant). The souse of the salad was more vinegar than appetizing. And finally prices. At the entrance, you could take a photo in an astronaut suit, which was a huge highlight of our visit. We look back fondly on the trip! (Original) Sehr schönes Planetarium. (Translated by Google) We were at the planetarium in Augsburg yesterday, a Sunday. We were there with two children and watched the show ("Journey Through Time - From the Big Bang to Humankind"), which we highly recommend. We really enjoyed the planetarium and will definitely be back. The staff were all very friendly. You have to lock your bags, and for this you need either €1 or a shopping token. All in all, the Augsburg Planetarium is highly recommended.

Circa-1948 puppet theater with marionette performances, a museum, gift shop & restaurant.

The Japanese Garden Augsburg is a beautifully crafted oasis designed by the talented landscape architect Yoshikuni Araki. This serene space harmoniously blends stone, water, and lush greenery, making it one of Europe's most authentic representations of Japanese gardens. Visitors can enjoy a tranquil morning here for an affordable entry fee while soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. Whether you choose to relax under fruit trees or at the beer garden with a refreshing drink, this garden offers plenty of picturesque spots perfect for capturing memories.
Very calm and serene Grab a book and find a place to sit down either in the forest or one of the many lawns with great views. Perfect for a nice day of solitude!
Ahmed Z — Google review
I do generally find the garden to be very beautiful, but it’s beauty very much lays in its ability to convey calm for example to meditate and relax in it it the problem really is that if one goes into the sky and it is maybe Sunday or Saturday or another day where it is very full one is necessarily and so have I been at the beginning? Going to be Very disappointed it is like one of those calm little city streets of small little towns that have achieved a great lot of following on social media but because of that following all of this common pieces now gone they have effectively been destroyed and I think it is quite similar with this. You have got to be there when no one else is there because while there are rules to be quiet and not annoying, most people do not care in the slightestso if you manage to go there at a calm and peaceful point of time but there are hardly any people at all or only those who are particularly quiet then you are going to have a splendid time there you may even be able to meditate a little and calm down
