Went on a Augsburg Fugger Tour. Last stop was the Fuggerei. Have always been curious about it and it's history. Quite amazing that it still exists till this day an age and functioning the same way it always has. Absolutely incredible. The grounds are extremely well kept and just a beautiful part of living history. Must go when you visit Augsburg. After the tour you can also visit tiny beer garden by the entrance.

Really cool to hear about how this social housing was started. The people can live here for €1 per year, and just have to be Catholic, pray everyday, and be in need. It’s definitely worth the €8 entrance fee.

It was a wonderful experience visiting the world’s oldest public housing. We went on a weekday morning, and the atmosphere was calm and peaceful, which made exploring even more enjoyable. Purchasing the ticket at the entrance was simple, and the site itself was easy to navigate. The area is beautifully maintained, with so much attention to detail that you really feel immersed in its rich history. I visited The Fuggerei on two different trips, once in 2010 and then again in 2023. It's a neat experience with in Augsburg and i definitely recommend checking it out. The history here is interesting for sure and the architecture in germany in general always amazes me. I would recommend tickets in advance, although was not busy when we went. My aunt had picked them up ahead of time for us.

Very special place, with a unique history

Anyone interested in pupeting will love this place. Take the tour with the tour guide to really learn the ins and outs. Our guide was superb and very knowledgeable. The puppets that have been used in many shows were on display. Definitely a worthwhile visit. don't forget the show it was also very enjoyable

Very beautifully made puppets . These were used to make the old cartoons and story books. The exhibition is small . There was a wall projected some introduction thing at the begining . When I pressed it to see , a guide who was explaining to a group came over and turned if off. I found is offensive and overall didn't find the place that worthy to spend 5 eur . One can probably check out the photos at Google maps for this place .

Went to explore the puppet museum, which was very impressive, due to the details of each single puppet. Finally enjoyed the "Der Ring der Nibelungen", which was the first performance after Covid lockdown. By the way, it was an excellent show.

Simply magic place to be, both as a kid or adult. This puppet theater is a cultural visit card of Augsburg. It has a huge history and yet every season surprises with the new program. Must see in Augsburg! Puppet theater art mostly vanished in the modern Europe, so this theater is a unique preserve of century old fairy tales traditions. It was nice. Museum five star ✨ The play, hm, the kids were in our lap all the time, they couldn't see,and we were somewhere in the middle.

I highly recommend visiting this place! It’s a beautiful spot for a walk, with plenty of space to explore and enjoy. I visited during the winter, so it was quite cold, and we didn’t get to see many animals like giraffes, elephants, and a few others. However, the experience was still lovely, and I’m sure it would be even better in warmer seasons when more animals are out. Definitely worth a visit!

Nice smaller zoo. Lots of animals. Fair entry price. Not the biggest and best but great. Advertise feeding times. We where lucky to catch the seelions. Staff was friendly and helpfull at the entrance and shops. Except at the Maki's. Totally rude and unwilling to speak anything other than German. Not understanding each other leads to situations that need to be avoided. And yes I understand you but don't speak it good enouf. I'm not deducting a point for the incident but hope you speak to your staff! Instruction can be given in a friendly manor and in example English.

We first went there on a Public holiday and it was impossible. There was no parking, the cue was very very long. I guess one could wait upto two hours. We decided to go back home and reschedule. We went back on a Thursday and it was worth it. Entrance fee was 14 euros for adults. We parked close to the entrance and there was no cue at all. We arrived one at 16:00 and the zoo closes at 17:00 thus we had to rush. It was around feeding time and it was interesting. We enjoyed the walk around the zoo and the animals were looking healthy and well taken care of. Some few walk ways were closed and the restaurant too. We could not see some animals. The play ground is huge and for all age groups though we could not use it due to time. Some animals were already indoor due to the changing weather example giraffe,zebra and Elephant Overall it was a good experience and we shall go back in summer.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Augsburg Zoo, and I must say that it was a truly enjoyable experience. The first thing that struck me was the impeccable maintenance of the zoo. It's essential to prioritize the well-being and comfort of all the animals, and I trust that the zoo is taking appropriate measures to address any issues. The zoo's amenities were also worth mentioning. Additionally, the availability of refreshments and snacks made it convenient for visitors to stay energized during their visit. Overall, Augsburg Zoo is a fantastic place to spend a day with the family. The well-maintained facilities, happy and healthy animals, and the educational experiences it offers make it a great choice for both young and old. While there were a few animals that appeared agitated, I believe the zoo is committed to their welfare. I wholeheartedly recommend Augsburg Zoo for a memorable and enriching outing for the whole family.

Really enjoyed my Visit,I didn't know what to expect,Many surprises Particularly Baboons and Buffalo,Bird House and Beavers indoors. Catering was excellent. My ONLY disappointment was the litter lying around.

A rich and informative museum on the history of the city. Must see when in Augsburg.

Some nice exhibits about the architect of many Augsburg landmarks, but not much else. Only takes an hour and a half, but the museum closes about 15 minutes before the stated time.

Most information only in German. Staff were unbelievably hostile and literally hounded you out of rooms. Also overpriced for the museum content. But really can't stress how bizarre and antagonistic the staff are

Very nice place with a reasonable entry fee paid at the entrance. There are lockers located to the right just after the entrance if you need them. The Japanese Garden is a highlight, but also the large green with furniture near the cafe and play areas are a lovely place to rest on a sunny afternoon.

Beutifull Botanical Garden. Not small but not so big. There are some rest places with chairs and sometimes with tabkes, so people can rest take some food with and to eat on the nature. Also there are some cafe on the territory of Garden, so people can eat something to drink bear or coffee, or to eat ice cream. Good place to visit with children. It's cost only 4 EUR. I think the best time to visit it's spring, when there are will be a lot flowers.

I can’t tell how much I love this place. The fresh air, lush green trees, and peaceful atmosphere make it perfect for a relaxing walk on a sunny day. The Japanese garden is a true work of art.

This is a wonderful place to relax and see so many wonderful plants. I was very much inspired with ideas for my own garden.

another architectural piece from Elias Holl, built as a watchtower in the Imperialera. 70 m high with St.Peter's church. it's closed totaly for renovation, and it was unfortunate not to could witness the Town panoramic view.

FYI, closed from October 31 until April. It’s not listed on the tourism website or the google listing. It’s posted right at the entry door. Would love to give it a higher rating, but we drove quite a distance for naught. The rest of the city is nice enough, though.

About 400 steps you need to climp to have the most memorable view over Augsburg. The tower guards can tell you witty anecdotes (they even sell for some euros a small book with interesting details on the tower's hitory), for children they have honorary certificate for climing the tower and with good weather you can see in the South the beautiful Alps. <3

This building has a pearl of German baroque: very beautiful hall. Apart from that, this is nice little muzeum with good collection of art, especially local painters. The good thing also, there are almost no people. So, I suggest to spend an hour here while visiting Augsburg.

I visited on Sunday with free entrance. you can see 3 rooms in the 2nd floor full of art paint works and furniture from the 1700's. the whole 1st floor is available to visit with multiple art works that leads you from a room to another until you reach the Gallery Hall full of decorations and mirrors. theres a garden designed from that era that offer relaxation.

Very very nice place to see in Augsburg, maybe as same astonishing as a very close and much more known Goldener Saal in Rathaus. And if you visit it on Sunday the entrance is free, although it is absolutely worth it a few euros on any other day :)

Lots of great art and the ballroom was amazing!

Visited during the first Sunday of the month. It was only 1€ entrance fee. The were so many beautiful paintings and the Ball room was fantastic.

21 stations of informations on charcoal/diesel old trains, bunkers, train station old equipments. a collection of historical trains in Hangar, souvenirs, resto and a large train Model. a very interesting museum, well organised, friendly staff, many activities for kids.

Amazing and just the right size. I took the grandkids (9, 5, 4). We stayed for about 3 hrs. They wanted to come back the next day! There is a nice model train area and some train engines the kids can climb into and pretend play. Everything is beautifully maintained. I was never particularly fascinated by trains before but I fell in love with some of the ones in the museum. Voila, one is never too old for love!

A really unique place with a lot of different train locomotives. The stuff was really friendly and was down to explain how the vehicles worked.

While not as varied as Koblenz or vastly comprehensive as Nordlingen, this railway 'park' (as it is termed) has a good, small collection of locomotives. There are no carriages to inspect as at Koblenz. If you're a train lover it's worth a visit, just be aware it has very limited operating hours.

It's not a big museum but pretty enjoyable for all generations!!

Entrance Fee is 2.50€. Totally worth it for a museum so well-taken-care of. A must-see when in Augsburg, and even a reason for Theater lovers to visit Augsburg. Small but rich in content, presented in a modern way and accompanied by a free online video guide in german and english.

A very good interactive museum which we found very interesting. We learnt a lot. Well worth a visit, best to walk or cycle to it.

The Fugger family as well as the Welseer family gained access to the world leadership of their times through top sense of business opportunities in merchandisind, banking and mining. They´ve been the decissionmakers of their centuries and founded social activities lasting through the times up to our days! This place offers top insiders infos to the visitors!

The museum is on the smaller end, but offers some nice operational engines and gear systems with some of the original trucks and other vehicles. There was no entry ticket. The museum has two large hall sections and the whole thing can be covered within an afternoon. There is also a foosball table to found among the trucks.

Great museum proud to be a old employee of this organisation. You can find history of Diesel and his patents in this museum and his used personal belongings. MAN is a A1 supplier of marine engines all over the world. It has number 1 casting facilities at their AUGSBURG office and best canteen at Augsburg office.

It is a small representation of the history of the MAN company. It is more focused on the first years of the company specialy in the development of the old printing machines and the first diesel engines. But also there are examples of MAN vehicles and a photographic timeline representation from the beginnings until almost nowadays. The museum is in a very good condition and the entrance is free. I really recommend, to people that are in the Augsburg area and have free time, visiting the museum.

I was 1 time, is very beautiful and you need couple of hours to see all .

Firstly, parking is very close in an underground carpark, but expensive. The entrance is inconspicuous, the museum is ‘hidden’ in a main street building. Be sure to bring a euro or two for a locker, where you ‘must’ put your bag and coat. Over four floors the museum is well spread, detailed and quite fascinating. I took an 18 month and 6 year old, it wasnt such a problem, especially when the younger one slept. There is a lift. The staff were attentive, a little too ‘rule friendly’ but happy to help. The planetary show didnt function when we were there unfortunately.

We've visited the museum on Sunday 24th of November and I must say it was an amazing experience! My personal highlight was the living snake exhibition, it was a real blast. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I would absolutely recommend this place and I will definitely come back when visiting Augsburg.

A place to enjoy traditional Bavarian food right in the Rathaus building. On the time of our visit, the hall was empty, all guests were seated in the yard. The weather was warm and sunny, and the whole experience would be great if not one small detail - smoking is allowed in the open area and as some guests were smoking the odor was reaching to our table with the slight wind. The menu is huge, nobody will stay hungry. Kid's menu is great! We weren't very hungry, so we ordered only two dishes - traditional potato cream-soup / Kartoffelcremesuppe (5.7€) for me and traditional Swabian meat dumplings / Maultaschen (11.4€) for my sister. I liked the sweet and savory taste of the Sauerkraut added to the soup, while the soup was a bit heavy and less creamy than I had in other cities in Germany. The dumplings were tender, the potatoes were crispy and the gravy was complimenting the dish just right. I think it would be good to visit this place again (and have a table in the hall), maybe at a little bit later hour, and try one of the traditional desserts this place offers.

This restaurant is beneath the Augsburg City Hall. We stopped here without a reservation on a week day which they didn't seem too enthusiastic about. Nevertheless we got a table in the nearly empty restaurant. The food was great and the service was fast. I will agree that even at the time when there weren't too many guests it was quite loud.

We had the best Radlers (lemon beer) and delicious schnitzel and other traditional foods here. The atmosphere is dark and cozy as well as lively too. I highly recommend trying it.

This is a spectacular restaurant!! We went at 4:30 pm..all tables were reserved, but they let us have a reserved table as long as we were done by 6:15!! This was excellent service! Wonderful German meal-- not touristy but vet classy food and decor and service. A simply great experience from the kind host allowing the two of us to be seated at 9 pm as walk ins without reservations to Lotti the patient and helpful server and the chef's food-- was SO delicious! Not your standard touristy food but a much higher quality of nuanced and delicious flavoring just like Oma used to make! Go and you will NOT be disappointed!!!! Super decor too!

I had fun visiting this coffee, cake and chocolate place. It is the perfect place where you can hid in a crowd and do some people watching. The sitting area is really large and when it is full it reverberates with human chatter and laughter. The cake selection is quite big, more of the classic type of cakes and although there is nothing truly spectacular about them, they are tasty. The drink menu is generous and the service is prompt but not overly friendly.

We enjoyed out breakfast here so much that we went back to have coffee and cake in the afternoon. ✅ The restaurant has an „old-world“ charm and a great location in the middle of Augsburg. ✅ The staff is really friendly and quick. ✅ The breakfast with fresh baked breads (Broetchen) and fresh ingredients tastes very good. ✅ The cake we tried, Black Forrest and Mango Chocolate, was very good and no to sweet. What we really appreciated was the staff member who took her duty seriously and told an old woman (who took off her mask and then started coughing and not covering her face) to please put on her mask. I don’t understand why people are so selfish to endanger others by taking of their masks (It works in Asia why not in the West?) and having the audacity to then start coughing / sneezing not thinking about the rest of us.

We had breakfast here on a Sunday at the start of November. On this day the only served their special “Frühstück I’m glas” for 25€ a person. Overall, I think I would have been quite happy with a normal breakfast, but it was a nice idea. Sad the water and coffee aren’t included in the price. But juices and smoothies are. The staff seemed very stressed and at times we felt rather forgotten. The food in the small jars was all quite nice, however the warm items, of which we tried soup and scrambled eggs. Maybe there were more options but we couldn’t find out as there was no list and the staff were to busy. Once I finally got some scrambled eggs it was brought to me cold. You could get a new plate of cheese and charcuterie so you be hungry. It is an expensive breakfast, and the experience could be better with a menu of warm options and staff less rushed of their feet!

I have not been so disappointed for a while... In a fast empty restaurant we had to wait for 20 minutes to get our pastries. Can't tell if they are actually good, since we paid for coffee and left. Waitress apologized.

Went on a walk at the Lech and came across the Hochablass. What a beautiful und calming place. I could sit there for hours and watch the water. Picked the perfect day because weather was beautiful and luckily it wasn't too crowded. You can continue your walk from there around the Kuhsee and enjoy a drink and snack from one of the many kiosks or bring your own.

The Hochablass bridge/dam was picturesque and greenary(if not too sunny) . Near by have kayak school and also a small food stall. Best place to visit those who enjoy Kayak and river flow to relax in evenings for pleasant environment and calm place.

Quite place ideal for a walk or for a bike ride. Easy to reach small parking area. Ideal if travelling through but not worthwhile driving there just to visit.

There's a nice view, I can recommend this for everyone who visits Augsburg. On a sunny day you can get some coffe at 'Schwarze Kiste'.

The Hochablass is a historic weir that dams the river Lech southeast of Augsburg. Perfect for observing the White-throated Dipper. The site is perfect to observe the White-throated Dipper, which breeds here every year. The Grey Wagtail, White Wagtail and in winter the Water Pipit can also often be seen here.

Went here yesterday. We where alone in the restaurant. I wonder why , because this was a very good experience. People should get out of their chairs and visit this place on a regular basis. Not going to go into details ,it is not necessary to that here.Those words are only for the Chef's ears . 4 stars because some of the courses could have tasted more and some ingredients could have had a a stronger presence on the plate, though they all where very presentable.

This is a lot of fun. There are paths amongst the trees for pretty much any level up to and including fault challenging paths. There is one route that is zip lines only and is good fun too but your weight needs to exceed 30kg. It's also pleasant just walking around the ground just watching if you need a break.
