good view of the lake and mountains. On one side is a dam. Swimming is forbidden because of underwater currents. uncomfortable descent to the water, there are no areas for recreation or picnic
Maria A — Google review
Nice lake for contemplating mountains around or walking or jogging. Base station for skiing and hiking activities.
Thanachai W — Google review
We stayed at the Le Lac region during our stay in Tignes for snowboarding. The lake looked quite small when I first got there since it was covered by snow but realised it was frozen over in winter and people were actually walking across it. The area is nice with plenty of accommodation and restaurants. There is also a playground by the lakeside by the bridge as well as tennis and basketball courts (which were covered in snow in winter). It was quite a scenic area and really nice when you went up into the mountains on the gondolas.

Mini-Golf at Tignes is a delightful experience for both children and adults. The course offers 18 holes with information about the local flora and fauna, making it an educational adventure as well. The staff is known for being very welcoming, and the location provides easy parking access. Visitors have noted that the mini-golf course is in good condition and not overly complicated, making it a fun place for kids to enjoy year after year.

(Translated by Google) The entrance is not that easy to find, a better indication would be nice. A course themed around winter sports disciplines is something different. Furthermore, little decoration. Can also be done in bad weather. Don't forget to play the extra holes, because they don't tell you this at the reception.

(Translated by Google) I like the idea of the theme with winter sports disciplines. Afterwards the place is not very pleasant, a little sad, perhaps due to lack of trees, but we can't help that. The courses lack fun for my taste. The fixings of the iron sculptures often get in the way, without making the journey interesting. I rather recommend discovering golf, via the mid-golf course right next door.

(Translated by Google) Firstly, the people at reception are very unpleasant, plus they force us to book in advance for a round even though when I went there the course was empty... As for the golf, the holes are very little fun to play, with no extravagance or interesting obstacles. Mini golf is basically an activity which is very entertaining but which becomes annoying when it comes to this one... I strongly advise you not to go there.

Ultimate Snowsports Ski School offers exceptional ski lessons in the Alps, with skilled instructors who provide expert guidance to help skiers improve their technique and confidence. Private lessons are available for all types of terrain, including crud, moguls, and off-piste areas. The instructors go above and beyond to find the best snow conditions and offer useful tips that leave skiers feeling more confident after just a few hours of instruction.
This is my second time skiing in Tignes and would not pick any other school than this one for private lessons. I had 1:1 sessions with Tom each day and it was always catered to my level, what slopes I hadn’t been on before, where the best snow was or where I needed to end up to meet my Husband and friends for lunch. The flexibility, patience and fun that Tom brought to each lesson was fantastic. So much so that I’ve already booked in with him for next year!
Caitriona E — Google review
We had the pleasure of taking two 3-hour ski lessons with Mikey while we were in Tignes, and we can’t recommend him enough! From the very first lesson, he made us feel at ease with his relaxed and fun approach. We had such a laugh the entire time! Mikey’s patient guidance helped build our confidence on the slopes, and by the end of our time, we were back on the mountain feeling much more comfortable and even attempting 360 turns! His enthusiasm and positive energy made all the difference- we couldn’t have asked for a better instructor! If you’re looking to improve your skiing in Tignes, Mikey’s your man!
Cherise G — Google review
This is the second time we’ve used Ultimate and they never disappoint. Tom was an absolute superstar with me and my two boys - encouraging, positive and flexible. Our skiing has improved dramatically across three private lessons and we’re all delighted, especially as two of us are quite anxious skiers. Hopefully we’ll be back!
Anna M — Google review
I couldn’t recommend Tom highly enough! I’ve used Tom for both snowboard & ski coaching, some 5 years apart and loved every second of every session! He’s reliable, knowledgable, professional, friendly & experienced. I’ve had ski lessons previously but haven’t touched my skis since 2021 so was more than apprehensive when clicking in this morning. Within 2 hours I was attempting switch & little jumps with some success.
Lynn B — Google review
Mike was a brilliant instructor and fun company too. Managed to teach the whole family (3 kids and 2 adults) adapting to our slightly differing needs. We've all improved over the week - 3 x2 hour lessons worked well. Kids weren't keen on ski school again, this was a great solution. Highly recommend
Jessica K — Google review
Fantastic Ski Instructor – Highly Recommend! Tom was absolutely brilliant with Amelie and Xander during their ski lessons in Tignes. We’ve never had a ski instructor they’ve loved so much! He made everything so much fun, and their confidence on the slopes improved massively under his guidance. Tom’s teaching style was engaging, encouraging, and perfectly suited to their level. Beyond the lessons, he also gave us great recommendations for things to do in Tignes, which made our trip even better. I couldn’t recommend Tom and his team enough – a fantastic experience all around!
Charlotte H — Google review
We had a 3 hr lesson with Matt last week and he was absolutely first class. Super experienced, very friendly, clear instruction and great stories - cant believe how much my 13 year daughter improved in such a short space of time. Wouldn't hesitate to book with them again.
Nick R — Google review
My kids (new to skiing) had 3 two hour lessons with Mike during our stay in Tignes. The team were great from my initial enquiry, through to booking and then arrival in Tignes. Mike was fantastic with the kids, who thoroughly enjoyed their lessons, progressed quickly, and thoroughly enjoyed their time with him. The kids felt that Mike really personalised the lessons and made them fun. Highly recommended and we'll definitely use them again if we're back in Tignes. Thanks very much.

Wellness center
Le Lagon Tignes offers a luxurious experience with amenities such as jacuzzis, massages, steam rooms, saunas, and a Turkish bath. The modern solarium provides scenic views of the lake and Val Claret while serving detox teas. The facility also includes a well-equipped gym with free weights, machines, treadmills, and spinning bikes available for use. However, it can get busy in the pool area after 4pm.
Came here in Summer so not a lot of people. Reception is very friendly and helpful. The gym is not big but enough for a workout. Swimming pool is a bit cold but has a 2 lane for poor swimmer like me which is about 1.2m. Good length. Love the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Overall swimming pool and wellness section are clean. Would love to be back again if I ever come to Tignes.
Ohayo O — Google review
The aquatic centre is right next to the Tignes Lake. Coming with local buses you can get on-off the bus at Tignespace few minutes walk or at Toviere bus stop. The town centre few minutes walking distance. During ski season many skiers in the open space in front the centre. The reception ladies speak English, are helpful. Payment by cash or card. The place is clean and tidy, wifi available. The swimming pool is nice offering relaxatio for swimmers, beginers or those who want to do laps. The changing and locker areas are warm and clean with showers. The gym isn't bad but don't expect a big room. In the morning until noon isn't crowded. Cardio and strengh training. The orices are a little high and combos can be done like swim+gym, spa+swim etc. The reception is big.
Daniel M — Google review
The water was freezing and impossible to enjoy. Our kids normally want to swim for hours and we only lasted about 15 minutes I literally had goosebumps and was shivering in the water. It was in no way relaxing nor enjoyable and a far cry from the amazing Japanese onsens you can visit after skiing there. Very disappointed we will not return.
Richard R — Google review
This review is for the Gym: It's a well equipped gym with a good variety of equipment. It has 3 squat racks on a rig and a selection of 10s, 20s and some fractionals. The quantity of plates is fine if only two of the racks are in use, but could do with a larger selection if all three racks are in use. There used to be some 15s but they disappeared when an extra rack was added for some reason. The barbells are in ok condition, but one of them does not spin well so makes olympic lifting uncomfortable if you're stuck with that barbell. As for dumbbells, fortunately there is a decent selection again, but proportionally there is not really enough space, nor benches, to make full use of the selection when the gym is busy. Machines and ergs wise, again a good variety. Could do with a ski erg or another rower, especially as the 3 rowers are very close to each and so having all three in use is not really feasible. Plenty of spin bikes for the classes they run too. I would give the gym 4 stars, but I cannot. The single worst thing about the gym is that it only opens at 9am and given this is the only gym in Tignes, it makes it incredibly frustrating to not be able to get your workout done before your day, be it work, skiing or relaxing. This issue is exacerbated by the fact that naturally the gym gets incredibly busy in the afternoon/evening and by opening at 9am, it makes the rest of the day busier as those who train in the morning are forced to work around the 9am opening and increase busyness later in the day.
Harry S — Google review
The front desk staff are blunt/unhelpful, it leaves a poor ambiance to the centre. Swimming pool is good and plenty for kids but the facilities are poor considering the high cost, such as hair driers not working. It's the second time I have found staff to be unhelpful and when speaking to other locals and seasionairs it is well known.
Aron S — Google review
The gym was very small and basic for the price. The staff were mostly interested in checking multiple times if we had a towel and clean shoes which was a bit odd and not very welcoming. Once we were allowed inside the changing room wasn't very clean and most of the locker doors were missing. Pool looks nice but we were a bit put off going back after the gym experience.
Tom W — Google review
Terrible service, pricy, no towels, hot tubs, not even slightly hot. You can't go into the wellness area if it's full. Waste of time and money. Dis recommendation. Very disappointed, especially after long day of skiing when all you want is to relax.

Wow, what a wonderful and very eclectic place, certainly coming here again. We didn't have a meal, but enjoyed great service being looked after by great staff while enjoyed very nice wine. How I Mark. I may mark differently to some other reviewers, some might see this as harsh, others may see it as fair. But here's how I look at it: 5 star - WOW. I want to go back and look forward to doing so. They delivered everything expected and more. The 'more' is normally about the service or attitude of the staff. 4 star - GOOD. They delivered everything I wanted and a bit more. I recommend them and would go back. 3 star - OK. They delivered what I expected, I would go back if I needed to, although don't currently plan on doing so. 2 star - Not very good. I didn't get what I expected and the service wasn't good. I don't recommend this place. I might get dragged back here, although will always try to avoid it 1 star - RUBBISH. Don't go there, I certainly won't go there again. I didn't get what I wanted, the people were unhelpful and I didn't enjoy it in any way.

Had a fantastic steak, one of the the best I've ever tasted. However, the waiter served us a €100 bottle of wine which we didn't order, then pretended to not speak any English when we enquired about it (he spoke perfect English to the table next to us). Come for the food, but keep your wits about you. They will try to take you for everything you've got.
Connor M — Google review
Big success all round. Friendly staff, food was perfect and super chilled atmosphere for a 2pm relax. Had the local sausage dish which packed an awesome punch of flavours, not too rich or heavy. Also the steak skewer off the live bbq which was done to velvet perfection. Awesome views to go with it!

Nice concept restaurant with a wooden grill outside even in winter. For the English menu you need to scan a QR code and take a look after you change the language. The meat choices is quiet small with just a few choices (I would expect the meat selection to be bigger for this type of restaurant) The outdoor seating is nice, but the service was lacking (waited 15 minutes just to order, and another 30 minutes for the meal)

Restaurant Le Grattalu is a hidden gem nestled in the Tignes ski domain. While many visitors flock to other spots, this restaurant offers a serene atmosphere and stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The menu features delectable Savoyard specialties, including rich and flavorful dishes like fondue and escargot. Although some have found the portions to be on the smaller side for the price, the quality of the food is highly praised.
Turned up and got a last minute table for 7 of us. The staff were pleasant and the food was excellent. Loved the Raclette and Ribeye steak.
Chris — Google review
Everything about the dinner was wrong starting with the service and everything went downhill from there, the waitress was for some reason disappointed with our order, it all started when she broke the glass and plate as she was clearing it right on top of us, glass pieces when everywhere she didn’t even apologize, then the onion soup came full of bacon on the inside, we couldn’t eat it, we asked for the steak to be medium well, it came almost raw, and they brought the fondu, which was mostly liquid not enough cheese, not stretchy at all, she forgot the bread cubes that come with it, and avoided eye contact for 10 minutes while we waited to tell her to bring the bread, finally her manager came and got the bread. The food was below average the service was Terrible and they basically ruined the night 😒
Sundus B — Google review
Decent food, but the waiters weren't that pleasant aside from one girl and they didn't really even know their own menu or which items were unlimited for their raclette. The cheese could be a bit stronger and there could be bread too. We did get a lot of cheese though.
Leander K — Google review
The food was great and the atmosphere, but the service was really lacking here due to long intervals between servings
Helder — Google review
Last night, we had the misfortune of dining at this restaurant, where the staff's hospitality was as warm as the refrigerated fondue. The Service Our server greeted us with all the enthusiasm of a sleepy sloth. When asked for recommendations, she suggested the cheese fondue with the conviction of a hesitant witness in a courtroom. We took her lukewarm advice. The fondue arrived, resembling a sad, watery puddle. I half-expected a goldfish to swim by. The "rich, creamy" Gruyère promised on the menu was actually an insipid, flavorless broth. We dipped our bread, watching in dismay as it disintegrated into the cheesy abyss. Verdict If you're seeking a culinary experience that's equal parts disappointment and disdain, this place is your destination. But if you value your taste buds and sanity, dine elsewhere.
A J — Google review
Dear Grattalu Staff, thank you for this great experience. We came twice and it was always top. Very nice people and professional staff, the food is delicious. This restaurant is clearly underrated. I can only recommend.

Fine dining restaurant
Restaurant URSUS is a new gastronomic venture by Clement Bouvier, the grandson of the family. The restaurant offers a surprise 5-course menu for an indulgent dining experience. Clement, a talented chef who previously worked in Le Grand Restaurant in Paris, aims to earn a Michelin star within two years. The cuisine at URSUS reflects his expertise and features dishes like polenta with truffle and beaufort as well as roasted schorseneren.
The theme of the restaurant is "the forest" - that starts with the decor which includes tree logs as an seperator in the restaurant. Very nice and cozy but still elegant. The theme is also integrated in the food by primary focussing on warm, full-bodied, earthy flavours. The food was absolutely delicious, but the heavy dishes took a toll on me and I had to give up when they served petitfours at the end. It was just a bit over the top. The wines in the wine pairing were acceptable but did not match the quality of the food. I wished there was an option to upgrade the pairing. Overall, it was a very good experience - the staff was friendly and smiling but also very busy, so there was a few times where I didn't had my wine served at the same time as the food.

Eating at a one-star restaurant in a ski resort was a surprising first. We were welcomed by the chef with some lovely mushroom snacks and soup – they tasted fantastic right away. The decor was also really well done and cleverly incorporated a forest theme (though the leafy ceiling print wasn't my favourite bit, to be honest). The service was excellent; they explained each dish clearly and even wore gloves when changing our cutlery, which was a nice touch. The food overall was very good. You could tell they used a lot of local ingredients and were creative with their cooking and presentation. I especially loved the truffle potato dish – it was brilliant. My only slight niggle was with the rainbow trout. It was cooked perfectly and was very tender, but I personally found it a little too fishy for my taste (even though I love fish and seafood). I'd probably prefer salmon. The cheese and blueberries dessert was also exceptional. I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try. It was easy to book(we dined in end of season time), the prices were reasonable, and it actually felt like good value considering how expensive things can be in ski resorts. If you're after a fun, tasty dining experience with some interesting local touches, it's well worth it.

Amazing experience with a lot of attention to details. Food is good but the vegetarian option is extremely poor (the exact side dish of the « normal » menu) and charged the same. Also extremely salty that almost hurts the mouth. Price is very fair for two stars and the service level.

Mindblowing. An exceptional, emotional cuisine brought in a great setting and with outstanding hospitality and service. For me, the best fine dining experience of the last five years.
Ruben W — Google review
Wonderful culinary experience in a cosy place. I removed a star for lack of commercial attitude. My wife got sick and left for the better part of the meal. There was no sign of compassion either on the final bill or any other way. I know it cost almost as much as if she had been served all dishes, but that’s a cold way to look at it. Anyway, there are other ways than a discount to handle that, but we got none of that either. I didn’t post this a year ago but I was reminded of it after having another slightly underwhelming experience at the bar (slow & inattentive). I hope the service will improve in the future.
Arnaud J — Google review
A very well deserved Michelin star and a notch better than some other 1-star restos we’ve tried in terms of flavor and service. It was truly a forest journey experience. Also a delight to be welcomed and sent off by the chef. We liked everything except for the veal which we found a tad salty and bitter. Wine pairing is also highly recommended.

Exquisite food, setting, service. You are welcomed in the “local forrest” of the chef and owner Mr Bouvier with almost all products coming from local forest and suppliers. We took the 5 course surprise menu ( there is also a 3 course), which is plenty of food together with all the amuses in between. The accompanying wines where perfect, local, but a bit to much in combination with the 5 courses. The food came at a bit to fast paste but were 1 by 1 worth the money!
Bart S — Google review
Very good atmosphere and service ! The cuisine was under our expectations and not well executed. We didn’t like few plates from the longest menu. The promise of a local gastronomic tour was not taken by the cuisine..in general was a good experience.

Snowtubing Tignes is an exceptional and thrilling activity that guarantees a fantastic time for both children and adults. With laughter and excitement as the main ingredients, this amusement center offers an unforgettable experience. The warm welcome by Fred exudes genuine friendliness, while his demonstration of various downhill techniques adds to the overall enjoyment. The atmosphere is simply perfect, leaving no room for disappointment.
Absolutely amazing experience with the kiddos!! 8 and 11 year old screaming with joy, as well as us parents too. The people running it absolutely made it, spinning is as fast as they could, one by one and even for at a time. Highly recommended!!!

We had an unbelievably fun time Snowtubing in Tignes Val Claret! Romain was a brilliant staff member, working tirelessly and always with a smile on his face to send us all spinning down the slope laughing and screaming! 🙌🏻 We are a group of 7 24-year-olds and it was honestly one of the highlights of our trip! We paid for a half hour slot and it was so worth the money. Thank you Romain! 😁
Ethan S — Google review
Good fun. The magic carpet is convenient and the slope fast and gets your stomach in your mouth! One of the staff member’s dogs was chasing the tubes down the hill, barking at them, which could be off putting for some. The manager seemed to sort it out quickly. At one point they didn’t allow some children to clear the end before launching the next person off, which seemed concerning.

Bar
Le Whitney Bar, located in Val Claret, is a stylish and intimate lounge bar perfect for unwinding after a day on the slopes. The cozy atmosphere invites guests to relax by the crackling fire while enjoying a delightful selection of cocktails and gourmet snacks. With an excellent choice of fine wines and an à la carte restaurant, this upscale establishment offers a sophisticated apres-ski experience. Additionally, visitors can indulge in afternoon treats with a buffet of cakes and hot drinks.
Upscale cocktail bar / lounge in the premium Maison Bouvier hotel. Really calm surroundings and cozy feel - it’s not a party / apres ski bar, but more for couples and families looking for some high end drinks and food in a relaxing setting. Staff extremely professional and friendly - and make exceptional cocktails - they can even make a custom cocktail if you let them know your tastes, and their whisky sours and negronis were faultless. The food is good too - burger great as well as gyoza and meat platter all tasty. We came to the bar 3 or so times over the week and always had a great experience. It’s not cheap (cocktails c.€15 each) but definitely worth it.
Philip A — Google review
We popped in for a cocktail and were hoping to dine but the menu was very basic, and ridiculous prices for what was on offer that you would find in every other restaurant or supermarket in town, we had hoped for some originality as it was attached to a Michelin. We desired to just have a drink I tried one of the special cocktails which was pleasant and it came with popcorn. The menu stated classic cocktails available for couldn’t make a dirty martini pretty much the most basic and classic cocktail you can get. Staff were all friendly and polite but I feel like maybe training had been rushed by management if preference of profit. We had booked to dine in the restaurant Ursus later that week but we canceled on the basis of the complete lack of atmosphere and the slower than slow service which considering we were the only people there and there was at least 4 staff is baffling. Maybe it’s better in winter?? The view is not inspiring, your essentially sat on a main road with no real mountain view, just cars and traffic. Also I take loads of photos but realised I hadn’t bothered taking a single one at our visit.

We came after visiting the chef remarkable restaurant locating up on the ski resort and were truly disappointed. All the dishes were bad! From the burger to the chicken, pasta and the openings. Prices are outrageous. Do yourself a favour and skip this place if you are looking to eat good food..

Centre Aquasportif Val d'Isère is a large sports center that offers entertainment for the whole family. It's an ideal place to unwind after a day on the slopes or spend an entire day if you need a break. The swimming pool area includes options for playing, relaxing, and actual swimming with equipment available for borrowing. Additionally, there's a spa area featuring steam rooms, saunas of different temperatures, and jacuzzis.
Lovely and great to break up the day and the week. Relaxing and listened to my needs. With me recently having a brain injury, they made sure I was safe but didn't make me feel bad. Clean and comfortable.

Nice place to visit and recommendation will be dependent on use. We wanted to use the treadmills and most times had to wait up to 30 mins. That said ..it was probably the time of day..around 18:00. Poor air conditioning made it really difficult but this improved as the week went on as we acclimatised to the heat! Should have used the pool ..looked very inviting from the treadmill. Lots of families using the fun pool...without it being massively overcrowded. Glass backed squash courts as well. Would use again as the alternative is to run outside. Saw a few people doing this but unfamiliar to the area..thought best to stay in doors.
Tim L — Google review
Lovely pool and spa/sauna complex. They don't force you to wear Speedos and cap like French public pools normally do, so much more relaxed! 😋 The jacuzzis are a bit too small and the saunas are not hot enough if you are used to lovely German or Finnish saunas. Oh and of course you have to wear clothes 😞 besides that it's great for a bad weather day 👍

Always love a visit to the swimming pool. Nice part for playing and relaxing, and a 25m pool with 4 lanes for actual swimming. You can borrow a pair of goggles or arm bands for your kids if you forgot to put them in your bag, and if you're just here for a visit and haven't got a swimming costume, there's a small shop upstairs too. You can choose to go just to the pool, or buy an upgraded entry for the spa area too. It has a steam room, 3 different temperature saunas and 3 jacuzzis. If you know you're coming several times, the best value is a pass with 10 entries. The passes are for just one person, but you can carry them on to the next season. If you're here for just a week, buy a pass with 6 entries which you can share with others. There are also Badminton and squash courts, a gym, climbing walls, Basketball, a (very small) softplay, a café, a golf simulator and a driving simulator. Great place, definitely recommend!

A good place for your body and mind in the French Alps, after doing ski activities.

Great facilities. The 25m swimming pool and kids pool with water jets etc... are free to people with ski passes. The showers are open plan and the changing rooms aren’t gendered so you can share lockers with your family. (the lockers do give you your euro back) Although we didn’t go, there is gym, sauna and 2 climbing walls by the entrance. In all it was good there, it’s a great place to go if the conditions for skiing are terrible, but it’s probably most busy then.

Tignes les Boisses - 1800, also known as Tignes 1800 or Les Boisses, is a charming lower village resort developed in 2013. It offers a traditional atmosphere with stone and wood chalets surrounding a replica of the original village church. The area has modestly priced accommodations like the Tetras Lodge in Les Brevieres, where you can enjoy the culinary delights of chef Violetta Rullo.
Very nice sloapes and good connection into Val d’Isere.

Lovely apartment overlooking the slopes, spar shop hassle all you need. Pizza place was very good for food, 1800 restaurant had mixed reviews, the lamb stew was the best of all the meals. La Lac was more varied for eateries but I would look to book especially for your last night if staying at 1800 make sure that you checkboit the free bus times for the evening. Dontvbe stick waiting in the cold for a long time.
Aine L — Google review
Two days between this video and the pictures. Five foot of snow overnight and still snowing in mid April. Positive of Tignes 1800 is that it's cheaper than high up. Negatives are: Pretty limited in terms of facilities, much more higher up and gondola only starts at 9am. Free buses go from the middle of 1800 which is only about 5 min away from most of it but you have to switch from Green bus serving 1550 and 1800 to a Blue route serving the two higher villages. Worth noting La Lagon (bigger swimming pool) is free and accessible via the buses.
Ralf P — Google review
Les Boisses is the second lowest ski area in Tignes. If you like a quieter location, this is your thing. There is only 1 lift that takes you over the mountain to the larger ski area of Le Lac and Val Claret, or you can take the bus that runs every 15 minutes. There is little to do in Les Boisses. Only a few terraces and three restaurants, two (ski/sports) shops, a petrol station and a Spar grocery store. Everything, as expected, is rather expensive.

Great place, had a lovely ski trip here. Stayed at CGH Kalinda. Only 4 stars as, although there's a regular free bus, and a gondola down to Tignes 1550 and up to the pistes, there is only a red run back in. The blues here were initially very taxing for the beginners with us, so we were confined to the green down to 1550 for a couple of days. Nice area, though. Pistes well groomed, lift attendants helpful.

Aiguille de la Grande Sassière is a stunning peak located in the Grande Sassiere Nature Reserve, offering breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views. The hike to the summit starts at Lac du Saut, a picturesque lake formed by the Saut dam. While not technically challenging, reaching the 3747-meter peak requires preparation for potential windy, cold, and icy conditions. This physical hike is recommended for those acclimatized to high altitudes and with trekking experience.

At this time of year, it is extremely risky to climb to the summit without crampons or poles; we even saw someone give up. (Translated by Google) Hike done on 08/10/22. “Thanks or because” of the 2022 weather, the needle was snow-free. A physical hike for a bit of an athlete like me living in a flat region. To do to end your vacation, after a few days of acclimatization to the altitude and trekking in the mountains. From the first meters, starting from the parking lot, it climbs steeply. The middle of the course is calmer and it picks up very strongly in the last meters (where we must add the lack of breath). Some difficult passages where you have to put your hands. A fairly dizzying passage with vertical walls on one side overlooking a crevasse of the glacier 30m below. Apart from this passage, there is nothing to suffer from vertigo because the crest is quite wide. What a view at the top, but it's worth it. Departure at 2200m and arrival at 3747m, more than 1500m difference in altitude. 15km round trip. A path that disappears in several places. Especially when you arrive at the first fairly flat ridge, take the path going down slightly to the left and not straight ahead, you will understand your mistake otherwise... Bring, in addition to a good pair of shoes, a running windbreaker, sports jackets winter for running and pair of poles if possible. One last piece of advice: forget your children! Some comments mention children, it's irresponsible. This is not a green difficulty hike! And of course, check the weather before leaving if you want to enjoy a clear 360° panorama.

ABSki Childcare offers a variety of childcare options in Tignes suitable for children of different ages. The service includes babysitting and nursery facilities, providing comprehensive support for families on skiing holidays. Customers have praised the seamless booking process and excellent communication leading up to their stay. The nannies are highly regarded for their kindness, support, and ability to engage children in exciting activities while also being responsive to their needs.
We have just got back from our week in Tignes and had a great time. Our nannyJodie, was brilliant with our daughter. From the first moment she arrived, she was so attentive. Our daughter took to her straightaway and we felt so comfortable and we were able to really enjoy our days on the slopes knowing she was being so well looked after. Not only did she bring so many toys to entertain our daughter, but she also took her out on some mini adventures which she really enjoyed. And to top it off, Jodie made a little video of one of their days which was so sweet and really gave us a sense of that they had got up to. If we come back to Tignes we would be certain to use you again and would definitely be asking for Jodie again!
Ryan R — Google review
Our 6month old had a wonderful time with Izzy from ABSki. She was so warm and caring towards him. He smiled every morning when she arrived. Always on time and followed our routine perfectly. Izzy also sent us photos each day of the fun they were having. The whole service from ABSki was seamless and informative. Thank you for making our holiday possible! We will be back! Enjoy the rest of the season.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience with ABSki and our wonderful nanny, Michaela. She looked after our 9 month old daughter and 9 month old nephew, with such warmth, care, and professionalism. From the moment she arrived, it was clear that she was experienced, confident, and incredibly attentive to the little ones' needs. Michaela went above and beyond to ensure the children were happy, well-cared for, and engaged throughout the day. Her patience and gentle approach made us feel completely at ease, and we could fully enjoy our time on the slopes knowing they were in the best hands. ABSki provided an exceptional service, and we wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. Thank you, Michaela, for making our trip so enjoyable and stress-free! We hope you are available next year!

We recently had a wonderful week skiing in Tignes over Easter, and for the first time used ABSki nannies. The booking process was seamless and all of the communications up to our week were comprehensive. We were very lucky to have Milly support us during our week in Tignes, and she interacted perfectly with our 3 children. Milly was friendly, fun and firm. She blended a great mix of home-based activities and plenty of trips out to enjoy the snow and hot chocolates, as well as supported us with ski-school pick up on two occasions. Were felt totally comfortable knowing that the children were having fun after their morning of ski school and we will most definitely book ABSki Nannies again!

Thank you very much to Jade for looking after our little boy so well! He had a brilliant time and it was really reassuring for us to know that he was so well cared for whilst we were out on the slopes. Jade was fantastic! And the communication with ABSki Childcare was excellent. Thank you so much for making a real difference to our holiday :)

I would give 6 stars if possible! We have had an amazing experience with ABSki Childcare and would recommend to anyone needing childcare support on their skiing holiday in Tignes. From all the initial enquiries and conversations through to Rosie being the nanny for our boys we could not fault the experience. A massive shout out to Rosie who was so kind and supportive and was able to take our boys (6yo and 3yo) out to do exciting activities in the resort in the afternoons, after picking them up from ski school. They cannot wait to come back and nor do we. We will definitely be using ABSki Childcare again! Thank you!

This was the second time we have used ABSki and the second time we’ve had an exceptional experience. Michaela was our nanny this time, and our 9 month old daughter (who hadn’t previously been left with a nanny or other childcare provider) took to her instantly. Michaela ensured she got plenty of fresh air, play and sleep, and we returned each afternoon to a very happy and well rested baby. We couldn’t have asked for a more flexible and professional nanny, and we’ll definitely be booking with ABSki again next time we are in Tignes!

All communication from enquiry and throughout stay, was great. Lucy was so quick with answering queries and extremely helpful. We had Jodie looking after our 4m old daughter for the week, and she was amazing. Regular updates kept us in the loop. She made sure a range of activities and outings were planned and facilitated. When the little one was not asleep. Will hopefully be back next year!

Embark on an exhilarating adventure at the Via Ferrata - Roc de Tovière near Val d'Isere, where you can explore stunning spots such as Plates de la Daille. This high-level route offers breathtaking views and a thrilling experience in a picturesque setting. While some parts may be challenging with passages featuring few footholds and cliffs, the overall journey promises an unforgettable escapade.
Excellent via ferrata, we did this on 20th July 2024. The progression in the grades is very good, the final TD part is short with one small section of overhanging which requires some strength. We were a party of two and both really enjoyed the route very much and the walk off is nice. Thank you Val d'Isere.

I recently returned from a fantastic skiing trip in Tignes where I had the opportunity to book a private ski lesson with TDC - The Development Centre. As someone who had previously taught myself how to ski, this was a great chance for me and my friends to improve our skills, especially in carving. Our instructor India provided excellent guidance throughout the lesson, offering personalized advice tailored to each individual.
Had a lesson with India again this year. Cannot recommend highly enough. Great observation and excellent communication. Came away with some really practical insight about what I need to work on and much more confidence. A really enjoyable and valuable three hours
Stuart K — Google review
India is a first class instructor/guide/coach. She is friendly and enthusiastic, and her feedback/instruction is well timed, on point, expertly delivered and easy to understand. My skiing has improved so much, 3 lessons were not enough. I can't wait to book more next year.
Sheryl C — Google review
We booked a 3 hour lesson with TDC for 5 friends. The booking process was easy and straightforward. Rab was our instructor and he was very fun and entertaining, as well as a brilliant coach. He took the time to give individual feedback to everyone. He also led us to quieter parts of the mountain which we wouldn't have discovered otherwise. We all loved the lesson, we learnt plenty and ended the day very satisfied. I would definitely recommend a lesson with Rab and the TDC team.

Gavin at TDC was a brilliant instructor whilst skiing in Tignes! He was engaging, patient and very knowledgeable. Couldn’t have asked for a better service. Organising these lessons was also so easy with Lindo who was so friendly and dealt with all my enquiries efficiently. Would definitely use again, highly recommend!

A small but perfectly formed team of expert instructors. Harry and I have used TDC for almost 10 years now and we love their approach and personalised tuition. Every year we see further improvement in our abilities both on and off piste. We would not go anywhere else!

Just back from an awesome week skiing in Tignes. The highlight was booking a private 3 hour ski lesson with TDC for myself and 2 friends. We all had a few years of skiing under our belts, but it's mostly 'self-taught', so we finally bit the bullet and booked a lesson with the focus on carving. Our instructor India was brilliant and throughout the lesson she was able to constantly watch and offer advice tailored to each person. Getting those small but essential pointers were a massive confidence boost. We skied almost 15km in the 3 hours so it was very much practical theory too! Forget watching Youtube videos, I'd highly recommend anyone thinking of booking a private lesson to do it!
Robert L — Google review
Lesson dates: 24 to 28 January 2021 (excluding 27 Jan) Instructor: India Summary: the five star reviews are definitely justified. Great company, with excellent (and highly knowledgeable) instructors. Will definitely recommend to others / book again if ever in Tignes. Review: We were a group of mixed ability, some not having skied for 15+ years, and others with some more recent (but limited) experience. The booking process was seamless with plenty of understanding re uncertainties around restrictions on UK citizens travelling to France. Payment was made via a small deposit with the remainder becoming due once we confirmed the trip was still on! As for the lessons themselves, India quickly assessed our abilities and expertly guided us through a reminder of the basics. Her style was extremely personable, but also professional and her knowledge of not just skiing technique but also the local area and best slopes to hit was really stand-out. What was really impressive was as the week progressed (and people's abilities developed at different paces), she kept the lessons relevant to all, making sure that everyone was getting the maximum out of the lessons and continuing to progress. India's lessons really were the highlight of our trip and I would not hesitate to recommend her (and TDC generally) to anyone visiting Tignes!! Thanks for an amazing week!

We booked lessons with TDC whilst in Tignes last week. He took a group of two adults and four children aged 8-11. The children found Rab entertaining, funny, communicative and engaging. He was very clear with instructions. My son said he described things in a different way and it really helped him understand about skiing powder. Thanks TDC!

I recently had the opportunity to take private snowboarding lessons with Freedom Snowboarding in Val D'Isere, and I was genuinely impressed. From the initial contact until the actual coaching sessions, Freedom Snowboarding provided a top-notch service. The instructor, Jay, is an outstanding coach who truly has a passion for teaching snowboarding. Under Jay's guidance, I progressed from being a beginner to confidently riding challenging slopes and even tackling the terrain park.
We booked a half-day session with Jay and regret not booking more. The session was great; we did our initial run, and Jay assessed our ability and then offered us a couple of choices on our next runs based on our capability. Super friendly and helpful. I'm coming back for more next season.

Did an introduction to Splitboarding with Jay, full day touring. It was an amazing experience, Jay is excellent both in teaching you off-piste snowboarding, and guiding you through the mountains. I would 100% do it again and would recommend Jay to anyone interested in such activities!

Had an amazing group lesson with Jay at Freedom Snowboarding, it ticked all the boxes! Jay and his assistant tailored the session perfectly to our group, offering the right mix of encouragement and support to push us to the next level. Jay’s knowledge as a guide and instructor was outstanding, he carefully picked out the best slopes to help us refine our skills and build confidence. I would highly recommend Freedom Snowboarding to anyone looking for the best lessons or guided sessions in Tignes!

Had an unbelievable day doing an intro to splitboarding course with Jay. Everything was fantastic from the booking process, the help with renting gear to the lesson itself. Jay explained everything really well and was a brilliant teacher, giving me loads of easy to remember tips on how to use my splitboard. He took me on a great route and was fantastic company. Would completely recommend Freedom for anyone looking for snowboard lessons or courses in Tignes.

Great lesson! Jay was flexible with starting point and hours. We did a morning lesson and covered everything: from remembering some key basics on turning the board to freestyle tricks. Jay also showed us an amazing off piste route. Great pure snowboarding lesson.

I had a half day session with Jay in Tignes. I was looking for guidance to improve my snowboarding, and to get out of bad riding habits. I can highly recommend booking yourself into a session. Jay was really patient and clear with his instructions, he picked up straight away what I needed to work on. I can certainly say that my snowboarding has improved so much with his advice!

Amazing experience! First time on a snowboard and on Day 2 I was already managing turns and going down a long blue run. Jay is an unbelievable instructor - so patient and super friendly. Because of him, I have absolutely fallen in love with snowboarding and I can't wait to go back. Highly recommend!

Had an incredible week, can't recommend Freedom Snowboarding enough! There had not been fresh snow in tignes for a couple of weeks, but Jay took us splitboarding and still found us some powder turns! He also hugely improved my riding on piste around resort and helped me get rid of some bad habits. Thanks Jay!

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to Manu for helping me fit my boots. Always struggled to get my boots right due to my awkwardly sized feet but Manu has helped me fit them so so well and with a smile. They are now basically perfect. Slow and steady is the way and what a pleasure it is to have virtually no pain when skiing in 130 boots. Great knowledge and good approach. Will be returning if I need more help 100%. Thank you Manu and Team! -Oskar

The kindest and most helpful people in a lovely shop, I would 100% recommend for boots for rental and for any of your ski equipment needs. Thank you so so much for the assistance🙏

I had an amazing experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They let me demo different pairs of skis for the whole day so I could really get a feel for what I liked. The selection was fantastic. After testing skis all day they gave me an awesome price on them in adition.

The only professiinal ski service in Tignes, if you want your edges to be sharp as a katana so you can carve on ice slopes ask for Manu and he will deliver proper race tuned edges! Thank you Manu!!!

Very good service! After many years with boot problems, boot fitters, boots, insoles .... Manu was extremely professional, knowledgeable and kind, listening to my problems, analyzing my feet, posture and boots, and trying to find a solution throughout the days that would not involve either pushing for new boots or costing me an harm a leg. Thank you Manu, my feet are much better and for sure when I decide to get new boots, you will be the Shop I'll go to and refer others to.

Very knowledgeable team who helped me on buying the right ski boots. From picking the boots until the multiple adjustments done to the shell, everyone at the store was extremely helpful and friendly. Never felt so comfortable with a ski boot until now. Definitely recommend!!
Filipe B — Google review
Good advice from friendly staff. A friend bought some new boots and SkiOne and said the service was excellent. So I took my old ski boots for some adjustments as they were hurting me. Manu took a lot of time with me to figure out what adjustments were needed and fixed the boots over night. The new fit is perfect and the boots are very comfortable. Great work!

Refused to return a pair of pants which were damaged after first use. They Insisted on a repair which I polity declined since I had no faith in the quality of the product with them damaging so easily and quickly. They still refused. Lady at the desk was rude, dismissive and generally just didn't care about making things right when she had sold me a faulty product. Sad thing is I opted to wait until I arrived to purchase the pants I needed rather than buy them at home, support the locals and all that. Shan't make that mistake again!
