Mountain peak

Nature & Wildlife Areas
Sněžka is a popular hiking destination located on the border of Poland and the Czech Republic, boasting the title of being the highest peak in the Czech Republic. Hiking to the top from the Polish side is recommended with proper shoes due to steep slopes, although there are less tiring but longer trails available as well. It's advisable to bring your own food and water since there are no facilities at the mountain top.
Entered through the Czech side of the mountain using the lift. Weather conditions were exceptional, as shown in the pictures. It is definitely worth visiting for the views alone. Be warned, parking on the Czech side is a nightmare. You will have to park a few kilometers away and take the ski bus.

A must in terms of hike in the Czech Republic, very well signaled and prepared routes on both sides, recommend to do it in warmer season. I did it in winter and it was very tough compared to summer. The village (Pec pod Sněžkou) under the mountain it's the perfect place to stay for 1-2 nights, as the hiking routes basically starts from it

The highest peak in Czech- Bohemia, Sněžka 1603m s/l where it borders Poland. Nice hike from the Polish side of the Silesian Hut ⛰️ 😉👍

Giant Mountains, On the Czech-Polish border, Mount Sněžka (Śnieżka) is the highest peak in the Czech Republic. Large areas of the mountains are preserved as national parks by both countries. 🇵🇱🇨🇿

We visited on a foggy day, the cablecar was even closed half way to the mountain top due to strong winds, so we hiked there. The path is not very long, some 6km in total. Expect lots of steep stairs and some hard ice, even in the Spring time. Even though, we couldn't see much, view wise, we still enjoyed the short adventure. Make sure to bring warm clothing... It felt like - 10 at the top due to the strong winds. The nearby parking is paid and around 1km away from the cable car station but there is a nice side trail following the water stream.

It was fulfilling reaching the summit gives u spirit to conquer heights without fear
Adrian G — Google review
This trip was unplanned, so the weather conditions were not in my favor, and it was difficult to enjoy the scenery. However, this trip was a great risky adventure that will remain in my memory for a long time. An incredible place for a winter vacation.
Iryna C — Google review
Unfortunately we didn’t go to the top out of safety concerns. The thing is that it’s quite easy to reach the top. But when there is snow on the mountains I suggest to use spikes as they should prevent you from falling and sliding down the hill which can be really dangerous. So please prepare yourself before you visit this mountain. And there are many people

The park offers well-marked hiking trails through diverse ecosystems of woods, meadows, and valleys. A wonderful national park full of recreational opportunities. There are countless hiking trails in the area with rocks, lakes, forests, and formations suitable for rock climbing. Several routes have hiking trails (with many steps, narrow crevices, ladders) and easy access for strollers. This region is worth exploring.

Great fun and friendly owner/staff member. Very good value and good beer. Has some bar type snack options including pizza (seems like cook from frozen), but perfect for a nibble whilst playing with friends over a beer! The staff member spoke good English and also organised a taxi for us!

When our group arrived at the bowlingcentre, which we had called to make a reservation for a group of 25, the owner just canceld our reservation. We were realy looking out for a great evening and lots of fun. The owner was straightout rude, unfriendly, unprofessional and it felt like he even discriminated us because we’re tourists. So, if you’re looking for a great time…. DONT GO HERE!!! It’s a waste of time and money.

(Translated by Google) It is a family-type guesthouse, where the second generation of my family always likes to return. The owners are nice and helpful people who can always meet our needs. I can only recommend for families. It is also in a quiet place on the hill on the side of the center of Špindlerův Mlýn. Another plus is the excellent Czech cuisine. (Translated by Google) Peace and quiet, beautiful views, the wonderful atmosphere of the Karkonosze Mountains... And in the middle of it all stands this wonderful place – a guesthouse or a mountain hut? A true mountain atmosphere, impeccable cleanliness, delicious and plentiful regional food, a perfect location (close to buses...) that allows for mountain hikes right from the doorstep (and the option of walking back – a revelation), and wonderful views. And most importantly – the people :) wonderfully kind, wonderfully smiling, helpful, and patient. Thank you so much :) I definitely recommend it – it's the perfect place on this side of the mountains :) (Original) Cisza, spokój, piękne widoki, cudowna atmosfera Karkonoszy... I najważniejsze - ludzie :) cudownie mili, cudownie uśmiechnięci, pomocni, cierpliwi. Bardzo dziękujemy :) Zdecydowanie polecam - to idealne miejsce po tej stronie gór :)

(Translated by Google) A fantastic guesthouse with traditional mountain décor, a family atmosphere, and exceptional service. Beautiful mountain views, a ski room, and a location close to the ski resort. The rooms were spotlessly clean, with a mini-kitchen upstairs equipped with everything you need, including a microwave, kettle, stove, and refrigerator. A very rich breakfast buffet and the best Czech specialties – delicious, traditional dinners, with a wide variety of dishes, and generous portions at an affordable price. The staff were wonderful, helpful, and always smiling. There's also an on-site bar with draft beer and a wide selection of drinks, a pool table, and table football. A great base for skiers. We felt exceptionally welcome and well-fed, and we'll definitely be back. Edit: We returned after three years for a ski trip, and it was just as wonderful and delicious as the first time. This is our go-to place in this part of the Karkonosze Mountains. (Original) Fantastyczny pensjonat z tradycyjnym górskim wystrojem, rodzinną atmosferą i wyjątkową obsługą. At the beginning it is straight and leads along the B. The Timber Trail in Krkonoše offers a unique experience with its tall, tornado-shaped tower providing panoramic forest views and a thrilling slide down from the top. Families will find it a worthy visit, as there is a great playground for children and a restaurant with good food at reasonable prices. The trail also features an educational path leading to the impressive view tower. While buying tickets online is recommended to avoid long queues, visitors can enjoy the friendly staff at the shop and restaurant.
Nice adventure, walking high as the tree tops. Very accessible and very friendly to kids and adults. The trail itself is enjoyable, the slide down is a must, also for adults (not scary at all as i thought), and afterward, there is a large playground for kids and a nice shop with many wood items.

While initially skeptical of the price, the attraction turned out to be a fair bit more than just going up a wooden tower. There's a little walk which contains a fun few little challenges. The walk features a lot of little facts and information throughout, with the base of the tower acting as a mini museum about soil and tree biodiversity and whatnot. The gift shop was actually quite alright, better than the conventional one at least. The slide is sold separately from the entry, but it isn't too much. A fun little thing, definitely if with family.

It was a great experience, the more fun part is they also have netted cage where you get in and enjoy, felt like kid again. The ramp is not so step so easy to access with stroller as well. Pros: - Stroller and wheelchair can be taken up easily. - Lot of fun and play items along the way. - Amazing view point. May be during snowfall would be even beautiful. Cons: - no washroom inside you’ve to come out and exit.

Beautiful and very unique place!! There is short trial that guides you through with some educational facts in how they build it. The tower is VERY impressive and has a trampoline and a long slide in it. The restaurant and the playground is super cute as well!

A nice hike that opens up a view of spectacular views of the area. Paid parking on site. There are many other attractions in the area such as cycling, hiking trails, a cable car ride to the top of the mountain, and more.

Such a beautiful place with amazing scenery of the Krkonoše Mountains.🥇♥️ A trip with the whole family👨‍👩‍👦 I highly recommend it and I give 100%👍. We will be happy to come back, thank you❤️

I love the Timber trail - went with a friend and it was very scenic and enjoyable. A good value for money, and not too many people around, despite it being the height of summer.

Such wonderful tower, we were really amazing. One of must see places in Chech republic.

At the Snow Monkey Rental and Test Center, visitors can expect a fantastic experience whether they're skiing or snowboarding. Many have praised instructor Marina for her clear explanations and engaging teaching style, which helped them gain confidence on blue slopes in just two sessions. The center also offers excellent customer service, making it easy to rent equipment and book lessons tailored to individual needs. Families appreciate the flexibility of booking sessions for young children, ensuring they receive attentive instruction from friendly instructors like Jitka and Vojta.
Lovely rental place with staff members! Speak perfect english, and very helpful. We rented snowboards, helmets and boots (they offer clothings too). Cost was 700kc/person and its cash only! Thank you!

Huge thanks to instructor Marina for the lessons! In just two sessions, she taught me how to ski confidently – now I can comfortably ride blue slopes, even though I had never skied before. Marina explains everything clearly, gives helpful tips, and makes the learning process really enjoyable. She also gave a snowboarding lesson to my friend, and he was very happy with it too. Also, big thanks to the rental – very customer-oriented and friendly service. They helped pick the right equipment, quickly replaced boots when needed, and made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Definitely recommend!

Snow Monkey exceeded all expectations both as a school and ski rental. I brought my 5-years old son to the school and we were lucky to get Marina as our teacher. My son didn't ski before and we booked 3 lessons of one hour each just to get him familiar with skiing. The result exceeded all hopes: on the third day my son was able to do 2.7 km blue slope with Marina! The next day we made 4 more blue lines and even one red by ourselves! Marina somehow managed to establish the great base and keep the excitement for 5 years old in just 4 hours. Safety, control and focus are also there! Many thanks for years of skiing ahead of us! P.S. everyone at shop was also friendly, easy going and flexible. Special thanks for the transfer at first day.

I had booked a ski instructor and ski equipment for my three-year-old for three days. They also recommended the duration, which is better for a three-year-old and it was perfect. The instructor was super friendly with my son and he had a lot of fun. We had booked this place since they were the few ones which seemed flexible as per their terms and conditions. I could also book spontaneously a session for myself for snowboarding and even that was amazing. Regarding the service, they also had a bus that took us to the slopes and later even back to Parking, where we had parked our car. All the staff were very, very friendly and always willing to help. I can highly recommend it.

Great staff and great equipment. Everything was excellent we’ve rent ski and snowboard equipment and everything was in great condition. We also had 3 ski lessons with Ruda the instructor which was very patient and professional. Super recommended!
Raz C — Google review
Had a great skiing experience! High-quality and comfortable equipment, a great guide named Philip, who explained very well and was very fun with him. Within a day, I already went down the whole mountain by myself 3 times and went down half of it dozens of times 10/10 thank you so much

We had an amazing time learning snowboarding from Jitka and Vojta in March 2023. They were both patient and knowledgeable instructors who made the learning process safe and enjoyable. For me, it was crucial to hand over my son in responsible hands while learning snowboarding separately! Jitka taught my son personally and Vojta did same for me. After 6 hours of lessons, we feel quite comfortable on the slopes of Krkonoše (Giant Mountains)! Thanks a lot, school Snow Monkey, for providing good equipment, fair prices for rent and lessons, and fast responses to E-mails!
Wlad L — Google review
Excellent service. Rent all the equipment to ski for three days. Good price, they pick you up when you want from the tracks in the parking lot and leave you there. They are always waiting if you need anything, especially Tomás, patient, kind and smiling all the time. If you are in Spindleruv, do not hesitate to rent the equipment with them. In addition to having qualified teachers if you want to take classes by the hour.

A nice attraction in the area for children and not only. Children enjoyed it very much. Paid parking. One round takes about five minutes. There is an adventure park nearby.

Great and compared to other similar rides very long and worth the money
NaetherDirk — Google review
The slides are really fun, there are even 2 small tunnels that go through them. And the track is relatively long compared to other slides we've been on. It's possible for an adult to sit together with a child up to 140 cm tall on the slide. It's possible to control the speed with a stick.

Base Camp: great place for renting ski (tour) gear and getting a good guide. Stefan guided us a great trip into the mountains and forests above Harrachov. Beautiful and quiet, in the dark of night. Super experience!

(Translated by Google) We had two days of snowboarding lessons with Stefan. It couldn't have been better. There were actually only two of us, even though it was a weekend. Stefan was a great teacher who responded perfectly to our needs. He showed us so many helpful exercises and responded to us individually, so that after a 4-hour course with lift and everything, we were able to ski down the slopes. It couldn't be better! Thank you!
