Beautiful church with stained glass windows. We had the pleasure of attending a musical showcase with the Thomanerchor Leipzig. This was such an amazing experience. When visiting remember to also look up at the domed roof and admire the small intricate designs.

Bach's church where he worked and lived, and is buried. This is a must-see If you are in Leipzig. The interior is beautiful with stained glass and various carvings and ornamentation. The church and connected buildings are very large. I saw a couple school groups here.

Seeing Bach's church was the reason we came to Germany and it didn't disappoint, at least according to my Bachophile son. It was easy to buy tickets at the door and you could easily see the whole thing in 30 minutes. But very contemplative and it's fun to imagine history's greatest composer walking those same steps. I'd recommend bringing some headsets and Bach albums (although the museum next door had ample samples) as it was silent when we were there. There's a few interesting artifacts from Bach.

I visited this church in March, 2025. I was deeply moved to visit this church, so rich in history and positive energy. Moreover, I felt the timelessness of Bach’s notes resonating throughout the space. It was truly thrilling! 💖

We love the museum— informative, fun, beautiful— especially the room where you could compose a song and the orchestra room. The young lady staff member inside the museum was lovely. The only downside was when we purchased the ticket. The old lady was incredibly grumpy and rude. How can you put a person like that as the first tourist touchpoint!?!

Such an amazing venue to learn about the timeline of one of the best composers of all time. The house is quite big with detailed description of Bach's musical stories. Interactive listening session is available inside. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys Bach's music!

Wonderful, not to be missed museum on J. S. Bach's life and musical career. And it was free with English audio guide! The highlight for me, and I suspect other classical music lovers was the original and only remaining organ that he sat and played at next door St. Thomas church (which also must be seen). Quite sublime to think about.

Brilliant. A great overview of the great man and his stay in Leipzig. Definitely recommend the audio guide as it adds a lot of context to the exhibits and it's not too wordy. Highly recommend a visit here.

As a public museum, I'm not sure that this is very successful. It's probably very interesting to musicologists and composers (one of whom I accompanied). But I found the two rooms stuffy, stark, and uncomfortable. The only exhibit of note was the one displaying the use of his music in contemporary songs. To be honest, I enjoyed the garden more.

Very pretty church inside, and amazing cold-war era history to it. In fact I think one of the Stasi has been working in the Church since the wall came down judging by his manner when I visited a few weeks ago. OK so I was taking a photo (apologies as I never realised that taking a picture of a building that is dedicated to a make-believe figure is disrespectful, and I don't remember seeing Thou Shalt Not Take Pictures In My Holy Buildings in the commandments when Charlton Heston brought them forth from high upon a Hollywood hill somewhere), but this guy was just plain self righteous and rude. Be polite, and treat us mere mortal sinners as human beings. We make mistakes so why not forgive us our trespasses. Hmmm....where have I heard that phrase before?

If you're visiting Leipzig, St. Nicholas Church is an absolute must-see. While it's historically and religiously significant, it's also an incredibly meaningful place in the history of music—making it especially memorable for those who love music and the arts. I’ve visited two years in a row to attend performances during the Bach Festival, and each time was a rich and unique experience thanks to the world-class music and the special atmosphere that only this venue can offer. Located right in the city center, the church is easily accessible and surrounded by plenty of other attractions and dining options within walking distance.

OK, I must confess that this is a place with a very specific focus (JS Bach) and purpose (to draw us into the life and music of Bach) - and I happen to be a Bach junkie. Having said that, it is a beautiful church and the Friday/Sunday concerts are excellent (and packed). It is helpful to realize, however, that everything is in German, and that Leipzigers are not as proficient in English as others in Europe.

While it feels strange to “rate” a church, I choose to do so in order to help maintain awareness of the importance of this church both as a place of worship and with its important place in music history. This is, after all, the church where Johan Sebastian Bach’s masterpiece, the St. John Passion, was first performed. During his many years of tenure in charge of the liturgical music for all of Leipzig’s churches at the time, Bach would have performed, directed the choir and written music for this church on numerous occasions.

It’s a highly historical place for the German reunification. It’s the place where protests were located and German people in the GDR gathered to stand up against the socialist regime. It’s a must see when in Leipzig! It’s free to visit but 3 Euro for pictures. It’s wonderfully renovated and colourful. Sometimes you even have the possibility to listen to concerts.

Beautiful church, which is best known for the weekly peace prayers that started during the Cold War and continue to this day. There is a small exhibition about this prayer movement.

At the entrance, a welcoming entrance with an airy crypt with heating. On the first floor there was a film that explains the entire history from the origins in the early 1800s to the present day. Viewing is recommended. Then you climb up to the first internal cornice, which is very overhanging. You then climb to the upper floors, and then you reach the first external cornice located under the feet of the statues that can be seen from outside. You can take the elevator up to that level. From there, you climb to the highest part of the building with a very narrow but well-made stone staircase. A visit is recommended to better understand the history of the city. Full adult ticket price €12

A stunning monument that witnessed through its history empires, kingdoms and republics coming and going…. A must see by everyone who loves history! Fabulous views to the city as well as relaxing beautiful park!

Great experience with a rich history. I chose a non audio self tour and would highly recommend this. It's a place of reflection and would rather go undisturbed. The staircase to the top is steep though. Just so you know 😉

If you had only one thing to do in Leipzig, please visit this place. This monument is the tallest in all of Europe and it commemorates the war that broke Napoleon. No tickets required

This intense and impressive monument is a MUST SEE if you are in Leipzig. The scale is stunning and is reminiscent of the Mines of Moria in Lord of the Rings. There are multiple lifts but if you want to get to the top viewing area, you have to use the stairs and it is a little walk. No bad, but most people emerged a little winded and sweaty. The sweeping views of Leipzig are great and, if you go on a sunny day, you can see many miles/kilometers in every direction. Highly recommended.

A really impressive monument. It really makes you feel the enormity of the event being memorialized much like the World War I monument in Kansas City. There was a feeling of heaviness about the monument and it made me feel retrospective. A very nice visit. A stroll through the cemetery nextdoor is also warranted.

the monument to the battle of the nations in leipzig is a massive, seriously impressive monument commemorating napoleon's defeat in the 1813 battle. it's one of europe's largest, and you can climb to the top for panoramic views of leipzig. inside, the huge stone figures are really powerful. it's a bit outside the city center but easily reached by tram and definitely worth a visit for its history and scale

This Is the most amazing zoo I've ever been to. It's so big with the kids. We could only see a portion of it, but the jungle experience especially with the boat ride was so cool. All of the exhibits are wonderful. I would highly recommend to anyone to visit the zoo. Easily one of the best zoos in the world.

Leipzig Zoo is one of the best zoos I‘ve ever visited. Large enclosures. Many events throughout the day. Amazing infrastructure (you can find maps, sign posts, and directions for a tour that leads you through the entire zoo everywhere). They also don’t solely focus on the animals as mere entertainment but seek to inform kids in playful ways about preservation/biology/even physics in the aquarium. Leipzig Zoo also provides a variety of restaurants and snack bars that are evenly distributed across the entire Zoo. I wholly recommend visiting, whether alone or with friends and family. It’s an amazing and informative experience!

Best zoo in Germany especially with huge greenhouse of tropical forest and self moving boats along river with warm climate. Highly recommended for both adults and children alike

This zoo park was fantastic. I would recommend this to everyone. There is so much to see and you should have water with you because food and water prices there is too expensive. WC is free which is very good. And I suggest you guys to go early there, zoo opens at 9 am and closes at 7pm. As I mentioned earlier there is lot to see so you probably will need some rest. And one good thing about this zoo park is that you see animals without any borders and it is kind of crazy but it is safe. So enjoy with your trip everyone.

Zoo Leipzig is a great place to visit with kids. The grounds are very clean with almost no smell, and there are nice play and climbing facilities for children. A fun and family-friendly zoo experience!

I absolutely loved the temporary exhibition on futuristic matériels and design for living through an apocalypse. So much hope for the future expressed, despite where we seem to be going. The permanent collection is great too, what I saw of it. Lots of beautiful ceramics…probably other things I missed. We happened on a ceramic market on the ground too, which was a special bonus. I was amazed by the quality, diversity and volume of works available for purchase. So many beautiful things!

The museum visit was free. The number of exhibits exposed is huge, but you have to be really passionate about this to stay and look at each one.

Amazing art objects from Antiquity until modern times through 3 different exhibitions. Such an impressive collection! There is a written guide for each exhibition which is available in different languages which is quite helpful because most explanations are in German. Free admisison to the permanent exhibition which is a plus.

The musical instrument exhibit is really spectacular, tracing Western instruments chronologically over several hundred years. Many of the signs are in German so expect to use a translation app. The entry fee is cash only. Spent about 2 hours here but you could easily spend more if you desired. If you are a music student, current or past, this is a must see in Leipzig.

I visited this museum for the ethnographic collection with a group of South and Southeast Asia scholars. I have not seen the Applied Arts section, which I hear is great. The ethnographic section was rather disappointing, as it is (as of September 2024) in the process of being converted into a sort of meta-museum and a post-colonial guilt trip. Instead of having the ethnographic collection on display they now have rooms full of woke posters about how sad it is that many artefacts were acquired immorally and unfairly. I'm not saying that these details should be suppressed and forgotten. I'm all for bringing them out into the open. But... on the one hand, their presentation should not take the form of one-sided self-flagellation but also acknowledge the tremendous contribution of ethnographic museums to preservation and knowledge dissemination. How many of those collection pieces, whether fairly or unfairly acquired, would by now have been lost to war, decay and deliberate iconoclasm, and how many would have been sold unscrupulously to private collectors on the black and grey market, if they hadn't been carried to those bad-bad colonial museums? And on the other hand, an ethnographic museum is not the place to house exhibitions addressing colonial guilt. That is like closing down a library and converting it into a guilt trip because it used to house many works by ancient Greek authors who had slaves to cook their dinner (so let's forget about their timeless philosophy and plays), by people like Rudyard Kipling brimming with the white man's superiority (so let's forget about his astute psychology and engrossing narrative), etc. No, please let's keep the library and find a different venue to address the questionable moral background, and even there, let's address it with a fair view of the entire context. That said, there were still a few rooms of the old, actual, ethnographic collection, which was great to see. They included a village hut from India, built on the site by authentic artisans invited for the purpose, with many of the materials also brought from the region of origin. Other materials were sourced locally, for instance cowdung for the wall plaster came from a German organic cattle farm, where the craftspeople first made a visit to check if the material is really suitable for their purpose. I hear that there used to be several other traditional buildings in the museum, presumably built with the same devotion and care, and enjoyed by countless children and adults as tangible reminders of how other people live and settings where they could hear about other cultures. Too bad that they are gone.

Very impressive collection of the musical instruments, not only European, with some very curious specimens. "Sound laboratory" was also very cool, though a bit skewed to various simple percussion instruments. Maybe the only disadvantage is the lack of English translation for a big part of exhibits.

Haven’t been to a concert yet so will update this weekend but our first experience of the organization was one of getting an issue resolved with our tickets. The staff responding online as well as the staff on the premises both worked hard and efficiently to get an issue with our seats resolved. Very impressed. Having now attended one concert at the Grand (Grosse) Hall I can attest to its great acoustics. Appearance is a matter of personal taste but I also like its appearance. Some of the artwork on display may dismay—indeed distress—some folks but I’m happy to see tribute paid to more than just the august members of the elites of classical composers and performers.

It is a nice concert hall with a great vibe. The full bar service is great, too. It is beautiful to look at in the evening, and it is within walking distance of the city center.

Listened to Lord of the Rings here. The seats were good, There were plenty of bars and the drinks we pre-ordered worked well. The queues for the Garderobe were long, both before and after the concert.

One of the best orchestra in the world. I came to Leipzig mainly to have one experience with Gewanhaus Leipzig Orchestra. Under the baton of Maestro Andris Nelsons, Bruckner symphony #8 was so affection. The acustic and layout of the concert hall is nice.

Wonderful music hall with great architecture. In terms of the design of the sound effect, it is quite balanced. It is a great place to visit if you like to enjoy the performance by worldclass one of the best symphony orchestra, symphonieorchester leipzig, always in collaboration with well known musician. For the young students, it is an good opportunity to get the last minute ticket within very as affordable price. The ticket also includes the transportation in Leipzig covering the 3 hours before and after the official performance starting time.

The review is not about Asisi himself, the son of Iranian parents – his works are brilliant. But a panorama like this without an elevator? I don’t know what the full bus of retirees thought when they arrived just as I was entering. The whole point is to see the artwork from above – that’s how the artist intended and designed it. You don’t really experience it properly from below. I’m glad I didn’t bring my mother – she would have struggled with all the stairs. Otherwise, it’s a beautiful piece of work, although I found Asisi’s installations in Berlin and Dresden even more impressive.

I didn’t have a lot of expectations for this visit. however as it is a building that catches our eyes, it was one of the chosen ones for the nachmuseum. the exhibition is incredible, and all gets even better when you get into the central building and you have a video mapping presentation of a beautiful painting. I really enjoyed the experience and recommend the visit :)

Truly beautiful, enough parking space, tickets can be purchased at the counter, I didn’t have to wait so long before buying the ticket. I went on a Sunday during the time when NY9/11 was showing and it was indeed beautiful. The yearly compilation of different stories that have happened throughout the years, the build up to the moment , the sound effect and lighting… AMAZING TRULY. First time entering one of those and I look forward to another one.

I visited during the Christmas holidays. It was raining and they only had the indoor part of the venue open. The exhibition is quite limited. The panoramic view of the New York City was great but not that immersive. It's a decent experience, nothing to rave about.

Great exhibition space giving an intense impression of the topic. We had been in Asisis latest exhibition about 9/11 and the message and logic were impressive and very emotional.

What an experience! Enjoyed it more than I expected. Great visuals accompanied by great background music. And the theme (Carola garden) was presented very intriguingly, to the point that you start experiencing it as if you're there.

Incredibly impressive modern building—an absolute must-see, even just for the architecture. The museum itself is worth visiting for the experience of the space alone. Be sure to take the lift; it’s remarkably spacious—perhaps the most generous elevator I’ve ever seen. The art collection is small but thoughtfully curated. However, one puzzling aspect was the display arrangement: smaller paintings hung directly above larger ones made it nearly impossible to appreciate the finer details. Hopefully, the museum will reconsider this presentation to better showcase the works. Still, a memorable visit in a truly striking setting

Nice building and exposition. Especially I liked its inclusivity. There were several paintings that had their versions of the painting designed to help people who are blind or have low vision understand theirs composition.

Superb collection of paintings and sculptures in a beautiful and stylish building of concrete, glass and wood. The people working there are the most helpful and friendly I have ever seen in any museum!

Amazing and definitely worth visiting! The free exhibition features works from various artists, making it a must-see. However, I strongly recommend booking tickets in advance for other parts. Unfortunately, I missed the chance to visit the Rembrandt exhibition as it was sold out. I’ll definitely return to explore the rest next time!

I've always wanted to visit this famous place, and today I finally had the chance since I was out in the city for some errands and decided to have lunch there. We visited just before 2 PM, and since it was a quiet time with fewer customers, we were able to get seated immediately. The peaceful and calm atmosphere made for a relaxing meal and good conversation. Thanks to that, we didn’t have to wait or make a reservation, which was very convenient. However, after being shown to our seats, it took about 10 minutes before we could place our order. The appetizer (soup) was served approximately 25 minutes later, and the main dishes arrived about 30 minutes after that. Altogether, from being seated to receiving our main courses, it took nearly an hour. Fortunately, we had plenty of time today, but if you’re on a tight schedule, I recommend planning accordingly and arriving with extra time. The staff was polite, the food was delicious, and the portions were very generous. The interior had warm colors and a clean, well-organized feel, which added to the pleasant atmosphere.

This is an old German restaurant in the heart of Leipzig. According to urban legend, it's mentioned in Goethe's immortal Faust. It's advisable to make a reservation, although we were able to find a seat. I really liked the ambiance and service, but the food could have been better.

I went there based on the reviews. Honestly the food portions are huge me & my wife ordered 2 veal schnitzel plates and I believe one was enough with an appetiser perhaps. Now the atmosphere inside was quite chic and the waiters were quite nice however, it was definitely over priced and there was a rusty smell inside that would not make you comfortable to stay for long. Keep in mind you would pay for almost anything. I paid 2€ for tap water for 2 cups !! and 2€ to take the leftovers as takeaway which was completely weird for me !! And to top it off using the bathroom was 0.5€ per visit can you imagine this !!!. I would honestly think there are way cheaper places to try the same dish in Leipzig than this one, definitely a touristic trap!!

Food was cold and overall Atmosphere was below expectations. Price performance wasn't appropriate. Service personel was very kind.

Soooo where should I start? Of you are thinking about onion soup- just know- there are 6 spoons of broth and everything else is bread😤, although they food with cheese. Beef - hmm… I could eat it as it smelled like liver, brrr… We also got the kids fish dish with mashed potatoes and spinach ( both sides were good ) and fish was over dried 😆 by the way, kids portion was Huge! I watched a video of Leipzig before coming to this restaurant and I think this place is overrated. Staff: very knowledgeable and friendly! Our waitress spoke English, was super nice! It’s just the food that wasn’t great. Also, the house wine - meh Sooo with that being said, it is still a restaurant and it should be about food..

I was there when I was trveling Leipzig alone. The gradness of the Hall might make you feel intimidated—especiallt when you are alone or small group — but don't hesitate get to the staff and ask for a table! All the staffs are well trained and friendly. But I need to remind you that they might be busy in the rush hour. And the cuisine and beer was perfcet. First it seems a bit overpriced but after you get all the service(including delicous cuisine) you will find it worth paying it! Normally people get disappointed by the unfriendly service that got from tourist spot, it was not the case of Auerbach Keller! Thanks for the unforgettable experience

I’d always thought that if I ever came to Leipzig I had to eat here—after all, it’s the restaurant from Goethe’s Faust. True to its reputation, the place is huge, packed with people and pleasantly chaotic. By the time I’d soaked in the bustling atmosphere, I’d already lost the energy to think and just ordered something at random… which turned out to have slightly chewy meat. My friend’s dish with two potatoes and rotkraut looked way better so I shamelessly stole bites… Still, the interior is full of objects and details that evoke Faust and the atmosphere is fantastic. Definitely worth visiting at least once for the experience!

Leipzig New Town Hall (Neues Rathaus) is the seat of the Leipzig city administration since 1905. It stands within the Leipzig's "ring road" on the southwest corner opposite the city library at Martin-Luther-Ring. The main tower is, at 114.8 meters, the tallest city hall tower in Germany. In 1897 the architect and city building director of Leipzig Hugo Licht was awarded the job of designing it. The foundation stone of the New Town Hall was laid on 19 October 1899 The town hall features as a backdrop in the Alfred Hitchcock film Torn Curtain. The Deputy Mayor of Leipzig and his wife and daughter, who committed suicide as American troops were entering the city on 20 April 1945.

Came here for research purposes. Conducted pressure measurements from the top of the tower. The town hall in itself is beautiful from both the inside and the outside. Sadly the paternoster lift was out of order. The view from the top is great.

This town hall looks like a small historical fortress in the middle of a modern city. Monolithic and at the same time figuratively elegant. I was always impressed and pleased whenever I met old buildings that still play a role in the new era, instead of just decaying and withering. This is a very beautiful building.

Standing majestically at the southwest corner of Leipzig's Old Town is the New Town Hall, Neues Rathaus, in the style of the German Late Renaissance. Completed in 1905, this massive building occupies the site of the 13th Century Pleissenburg, with parts of the old castle being incorporated in the 115 meter high central tower.

For only €3 student entry this is an experience that you must go to whilst in Leipzig. All of the greenhouses were beautifully maintained and we got to see a butterfly emerge from a chrysalis which was a very special moment.

The hothouse where the butterflies are is quite small, and quite warm (especially since we visited on a summer day) but you can see the butterflies up close. I kind of expected more variety, but anyway, you do get to see some beautiful creatures.

I visited the Van Gogh exhibition here. The multimedia presentation was really impressive, a work of art on its own! The whole setup was great, nothing that I have ever quite experienced anywhere else before. Not expensive as well, only 11 euros admittance. Definitely worth the visit.

It’s basically a Digital Blasphemy-esque screensaver that’s been divvied up into shorts and played on different TVs as you walk through a haunted house maze of rooms. If you can find it, you get to the end and there’s two warehouses that have the screen playing on all four walls and sometimes the floor. They give you pillows and stuff to lay on the ground but it’s not projected on the ceiling so that doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Plus none of these surfaces are cleaned- including the VR goggles later, those were gross. Basically you just need to come up with a designated hand holder and everybody else in the group get pretty baked and go to this. But if you’re looking for anything actually science, this isn’t it. It’s a gorgeous piece of art, but it’s all about how it’s displayed in the space rather than as a screensaver you could buy and play between YouTube videos. And the girl that let us in (late), although gorgeous, literally grunted by way of letting us know we could enter now. Not a very warm welcome. Though it’s very hot throughout the exhibition- so pick up the map at the front desk and use it as a fan. As an IT person it was ok. The one part that really bothered me was the poor rendering on the water in Section 7. It moved up and down rather than to and away from shore. And when it started raining- the water surface was not affected. Continuity matters. No photography allowed.

I am into art and interesting exhibitions a lot, but the current one really does not worth the price at all :((

Very interesting museum covering life in a divided Germany. I’d recommend 2 hours for a visit. Whilst it’s great that the museum is free, I did not appreciate the interactions with staff in the last 30 minutes of our visit. Their official hours state they close at 6pm, yet we were herded through the last few exhibits by staff at 5:45pm, and outwardly told to leave at 5:50pm. One older employee kept looking at her watch and verbally scolded me for daring to still be there. Very rude and off putting. Change your hours if you don’t want visitors there until 6pm. Standing outside, I saw her practically fly out of the door at 6pm on the dot, racing to wherever she so desperately needed to be! 😂

The temporary and permanent exhibitions both were very interesting providing an interesting view on how Germany mindset was shaped the major events in their recent history. The temporary exhibition was about gardens during the DDR period (but it changes every month, so it might be a different topic by now).

This seemed to be because most of the flights are to holiday destinations, and many of the passengera are inexperienced fliers.

This is a constructive feedback for the management: Coming with a car is a disaster. No intuitive signs directing to the airport itself. The google maps shows that the airport is in the middle of the highway. And the signs for departure shows different directions than the arrivals - which actually, both (arrivals and departure gates) are in one small building without any walls in between. It would be very helpful for the people to have bigger and simple signs to orient themselves to got in the airport. There is no need of two different routes for arrivals and departures, when both are in one 300-400sq/m building.

On our visit in January 2024, there was a very interesting photo exhibition in the large hall on the ground floor and in the cellar was an exhibition of Krakower nativity scenes. Both exhibitions were 3€ each. The very interesting City museum is in the town hall in market square and is free of charge.

The museum is tiny but worthy to have a look. The problem is that the woman worked there today(4.5.2022) closed the studio half hour (like at 17:35) before it officially closed. It is not nice.

I read about restaurants, coffee houses, plentiful galleries and retail. Except for 2 galleries open, a sad looking coffee shop and a hat store, nothing was open. A waste of time!

The biggest issue in our opinion is the price. 90€ for two tickets, 5€ parking, 30€ two meals of frozen food, a mini waffle 3,50€, two slushies 15€. If you'd cut everything in half we still wouldn't rate it super high, but then it becomes much easier to stomach. There simply isn't enough "love" in the park. The attractions aren't very modern, many going back as far as decades ago. That in itself would be fine, if there would be new attractions to make up for it. I think the park is decent for families with children though, since they do have mostly attractions for that demographic. Adults are probably going to have a hard time (only 3 roller coasters) All in all this makes it a very tough sell, because you have many alternatives that are either priced much more competitively, or ones with a better reputation, being bigger and better. The big highlight was the pyramid. That was definitely worthy and beautiful to look at. Unfortunately the fact that you had to pay to get dried after the water slide of the pyramid left a bitter aftertaste. After all the expenses paying an additional 3€ just to get dried because the water slide completely left you wet and cold is just pure greed. Another positive experience was the castle rollercoaster, that one is beautiful, fun, although a little short. However that wasn't the most egregious thing that happened during our visit. We paid a decent bit more because of the Halloween season, despite that some of the Halloween attractions required additional pay? We've visited many amusement parks and we are aware of the cost of food, drinks, mini games where you can win plushies, there is plenty of that here in Belantis as well, but the fact that you have to pay additional money for seasonal attractions is extremely scummy behavior. Our last point, before coming to an end is about the logistics. As a history and classical music lover, this place was on my wish list of what to see in Leipzig. My friend who lives in Leipzig told me it's a really nice fun place and that she went there there at least two times before. Well, she wasn't lying. First impression was a beautiful serene atmosphere, two very kind cashiers who perfectly answered all our questions and well functioning lockers for backpacks. The ground floor was a place for rather interesting conducting simulator which we all really enjoyed and then we went to the upper floors. The whole museum is beautifuly interactive, full of drawers with exhibited objects inside so they don't disturb the authenticity of Felix's floor. One can see there his death mask, replicas of his and his wife's clothes, his painting, a lock of his hair and even take three recipes that Felix himself liked to eat. Then there is Fanny's floor which is slightly more dreamy. It again shows some of the objects she used, a room witha wall full of her compositions a very cute room with a short movie about her life which is really well and beautifuly done and probably a high-light of the whole museum (at least for us silly girls), a room with the Biedermeier clothes which you can take on, then take a picture through a special camera and then download the picture for free on your phone. Well, long Story short, it's a beautiful interesting place with amazing calming atmosphere. Can only recommend.

My teenage son is into orchestra and so was looking forward to seeing Mendelssohn-Haus. He gives it 5/5 stars, on the scale where Disney World got three stars. We ended up there about two hours although to be fair, the rest of us were napping listening to son conduct the symphony music.

Although I had a fast round through the permanent exhibition this time, I still saw some stuff I missed last time, but mainly I enjoyed the current exhibitions, one about Bauhaus in Sachsen and the other about vases. I booked on a whim given there wasn't any music gigs in town that I wanted to see, and I'm so glad I did. I went solo, and joined a throuple, and though my view was somewhat restricted, I was able to see the action. Of note is the clown, subtle underplaying paying off - one of the best clowns I've seen, up there with Dr Brown but with the added bonus of a skills with bikes! The aerial duo were fantastic, moving even, and the ensemble dance with the silk tent was phenomenal. Every member of the cast was brilliant. As a Blackpool circus and Edinburgh fringe annual visitor, I am considering adding Krystal Palate to my yearly roster. So impressed. Thank you from this Scottish dwelling circus lover.
