Water park
Water & Amusement Parks
Atlantic Toboggan is a thrilling water park located in Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez, Vendee. It offers an exciting experience with its pools, water slides, and inflatable tube rides. The park features eight slides, a kids' playground, jacuzzis for relaxation, a lazy river with rubber rings, and a wave pool. Additionally, visitors can enjoy Dinos Park with life-sized dinosaurs, games, attractions, and puppet shows.
Best word to describe this water park is "thrilling". We arrived at 10.30am and left at 5.30pm. The time flew. I'd recommend bringing a picnic as food quality and cost isn't great. There is something for kids and adults of all ages. They even have a DJ wave pool party that starts for a few hours around 3pm. Highly recommended a day out here.
Niall F — Google review
Great day out for the family (10,7 and 2 year old). Great slides and some new ones too! Queues move really quick...longest wait around 5 mins. Lifeguards more interested in chatting to each other but can't say that has put me off as its a really family friendly atmosphere. Have been coming here for years...and will return when back in the area!
Matt W — Google review
Fun experience with my family. The only criticism I have is the chaotic cloakroom area. Replace this with several rows of large lockers and this would far improve the customer experience. We had to queue up multiple times to retrieve my wallet to purchase food and drink items. Seems completely unnecessary and would reduce their employment costs.
Anon A — Google review
Great day out! Great rides and wasn’t too busy. Food was good and got a photo for 3 euros which was great value for money!
Sharon M — Google review
Great slides, but the queues were so long it meant we only went on one slide in a whole hour. They let too many people in which ruins it. As a consequence the wave pool is so full it’s dangerous. It’s a shame as the slides are good and that part was enjoyable.
Hannah S — Google review
Queues are very big, 2 rides per hour that's not fun at all, water is cold. Need some more additional slides and big flowing river could be with inflatables to go around. DJ is cool and giving some souvenirs away
Jolanta C — Google review
We visited 2 August, it a very nice place with a good environment, my children love it thanks.
Osa T — Google review
There were no queues to enter, but there are significant queues for some slides. In particular Space Boat and Turbolance, I queued for 45 mins for each. Most other slides are not as busy, but expect 15mins per slide on average. It quietens down a lot after 4pm or so. There are a lot of lifeguards and it feels very safe for kids.

Heritage museum
Situated atop a hill, Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez was once renowned for its exploitation of salt marshes, a practice that continues to this day. One must not miss the Marais Salants de la Vie, an essential visit to learn about the techniques employed in harvesting salt and fleur de sel. This immersive one-hour experience provides comprehensive insight into the entire salt production process within the scenic marshlands. The site accommodates wheelchairs and strollers, ensuring accessibility for all visitors.
Interesting look at the old salt making process. Nice views over the marsh land with plenty of off site parking.
Russell H — Google review
Nice 1-hour visit, in French, explaining the whole process of making salt in the marshes. It is accessible to wheelchairs and strollers which is great.
Julien R — Google review
It's a nice cultural visit talking about the history of salt in the region. However they only speak in French and there are no English tours.

We paid for a guided tour, but the guide doesn't speak English!! It is really boring for children!

(Translated by Google) A wonderful discovery of the salt marsh with a guided tour led by Vincent, a salt worker passionate about his work. His teaching skills, enthusiasm, and sense of humor make the tour both informative and entertaining. The tour lasts about 1.5 hours, is perfectly organized, with no waiting, and is suitable for both adults and children 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦. The staff, all in all, are very friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. The only downside: the GPS doesn't indicate the location very well; a little more signage would be welcome. The price is very reasonable (€6 per adult) and the shop is well-stocked with local products. I highly recommend it for a family outing!
Sandy F — Google review
(Translated by Google) I didn't take the guided tour, but I really enjoyed the small room set up in an old salt hut, where you can watch a twenty-minute film about the salt marshes. It's clear, informative, and immersive. Then, a visit to the shop to leave with some high-quality local salt. A simple but very pleasant stop. A small drawback: there's no possibility of doing the tour alone to wander around, and the slots fill up quickly in the summer.

Park
Feeling Forest Park is a leisure and adventure park suitable for all ages, located just a 10-minute drive from a hotel in Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez. The park offers inflatable games, mini-golf, and various activities dedicated to children. It features a climbing Parcours suitable for kids aged 3-5, while older kids can enjoy the Play Park with trampolines, boat rides, climbing activities, and bouncy castles.
We had a great morning here. My husband and two sons aged 9 and 7 had the best time climbing through the trees. Highly recommend 🤩
Kirstie B — Google review
Brilliant adventure park for all ages. We’ll thought through and built. The climbing Parcours starts from age 3-5. However, our 4yo was bored fast of the little options. More options for 4-6yo would be great. The Play Park (extra entrance fee for older kids!) is fun with trampolines, a pool for a mini boat ride, climbing, huge ball trampoline and bouncy castles. In order to control the crowd instruction will be in groups every 30min which can lead to quite a long wait. The staff is friendly and joyful. There’s a small food stand with reasonable prices. There are a bunch of nice chill out areas. I highly recommend this park.
Chrissi H — Google review
We're going back tomorrow for the Aerial walk but we brought the kids for the go-karts today and there was no one supervising the go karts and people just kept putting tokens into their kids karts and didn't allow others to take turns. Now for the aerial, this was very good and very well run. I would highly recommend it. The red and black runs are very tough physically and psychologically. Be prepared for them. The price is extremely reasonable for the fun you have and the time you spend there. I would highly recommend.
Glyn E — Google review
Brilliant day out. The set up is fantastic, with options to suit all abilities. We visited a a family of eight, aged 10 to 75! The staff are brilliant, we needed help several times and the response was quick and kind. An all round excellent day out - highly recommend.

Updated 2022''''''Our boys loved it It's really good fun for all ages Quite challenging for the younger ones but they learn quickly It's well shaded for the really hot days It'll keep you busy for hours Great value The staff speak English brilliantly. Well worth the trip, visited again 2020, kids still love it, able to go higher due to them being older, staff very attentive no complaints and great value for money
Ryan W — Google review
Asked the kids 13, 11 & 8, would they come back again? "Absolutely / Yes / Definitely". We did the 9-13 year old circuit, had a lovely snack, and kids also played on bouncy castles and trampoline, both which were included in the overall price of ~€55, and had 5 hours on site. Well worth it.
Conor C — Google review
Fantastic day out for the whole family. Get there nice and early to beat the crowds. Worth noting, although courses are advertised age based there are height restrictions. Our 5 year old was able to complete the bigger rope course as he is tall and confident.
Matt B — Google review
Brilliant value for money. Much cheaper and far more courses than the UK equivalent. Would recommend!

Amusement center
Amusement park
Youpla Land is a fantastic amusement center that offers a variety of inflatables for different age groups, ensuring fun for everyone. The train ride operates every 20 minutes, adding to the excitement. It's an ideal destination on hot days as there is ample shade and a refreshing breeze. The prices for tickets and drinks are reasonable, with an additional cost for the trampoline. Parents can relax and enjoy a book while their kids freely explore and play in the safe and manageable space.
Well worth the entry fee. We paid €18 for two children. We have two boys 9 and 7. They absolutely loved it. Large/small inflatables as well as games to play. We were here for 2 1/2 hours and they had the best time. Little train that goes every 20 minutes or so. Definitely worth a visit. Snacks/drinks/ice cream etc available at reasonable prices too.
Kirstie B — Google review
Really lovely owner, plenty of shade, decently priced cafe and free entry for adults and children under 3. A perfect couple of hours spent here and would definitely return. Bring socks with you! They do sell them there. Cash is preferred.
Philipa K — Google review
Brilliant visit this morning, great value at €9 per child and adults free! Was slightly hesitant as the weather was forecast to be hot, but the site had lots of shade that made it very comfortable. Our kids loved the bouncy castles, slides, ball pits, train etc, plus the slushy drinks in the cafe section. Was difficult to get them to leave, and may have to visit again before we head home!
John P — Google review
What a fun place for the children. Entrance was inexpensive and they can stay as long as they want.
Paul P — Google review
Visited today with my nearly 4 year old son as part of his holiday treat. What a great place! Really good variety of different bouncy castles, maze, classic games at the back, Twister floor game, a train ride every 15 minutes when you hear the bell ring, ball pits and mini golf (pay separately for this). Cafe looked really good, but we opted for slushies and ice cream each as we bought a picnic. Staff very friendly and helpful. Place looks well maintained. Area is reasonably well shaded due to pine trees and an over head sprinkler to cool kids down. Endless places to sit and watch the kids, with a picnic area too. My son had a fantastic time and we spent 3.5 hours here. Would highly recommend!
Emma M — Google review
Good with children up to maybe 12. Lots of trees giving shadow. Picknick allowed.

Explora Parc is a family-friendly outdoor recreation area nestled in the heart of the Pays de Monts forest, offering a wide range of sports and unusual activities for all ages. With 10 tree courses to choose from, as well as Archery Tag, Laser Tag, archery, and virtual reality experiences, there's something for everyone. Visitors can enjoy zip lines, climbing areas, a ball pit and even grab a snack at the bar.
This place is amazing, with nothing to compare it to in Ireland. There are courses suitable for all ages, and you can spend as long as you like here! Myself and my 2 boys (aged 5 and 8) visited Explora Parc THREE times on our month-long holiday! It's exceptional value with passes for all 3 of us for under €50. You can bring a picnic or there is really delicious food on site, with a bar. There is loads of shaded seating available, great music, and free lockers to use. The courses themselves are so fun - there were 3 different trails suitable for my whole family, and we had fun doing them over and over! I completed the 4 blue courses without the kids, and 1 of the reds, but I had to get rescued from a black course - not for the faint of heart! The staff are all so friendly and knowledgeable (seems like a pretty cool place to work), the equipment is very safe and clean, and the whole atmosphere of the park is excellent. On a Wednesday, for no extra cost, the park stays open until midnight, you are provided with head torches and can do the courses in the dark!!! This was the most spectacular activity for the kids and I, so so cool. Special mention to Timeo, the most outgoing young man who went out of his way to make our visits brilliant!
Tara S — Google review
Superb climbing facility. By far the best climbing we do in England and France. So safe for children. The variation of the runs is ace. Kids love the trampoline too. Great atmosphere and food/drink facilities. Staff are very professional and safe. We buy the season tickets and get our money's worth over the year when we visit. Can't recommend enough.
Kay R — Google review
Did an archery session here whilst we were on holiday nearby. It was loads of fun for our group of 2 adults, 15 year old and 10 year old. Our instructor was excellent and particularly helped the youngest. She didn’t speak any English, but with my limited French and the help of some other participants we got by. I would have given 5 stars, but none of the staff we encountered seemed to speak English which would be a problem for some visitors given how popular the area is with British tourists. I think a paper map to hand out with how to get to the different activities would help, plus better signage.
Rachel K — Google review
Myself and 13 year old son spent a whole day at Explora Park in Saint Jean de Monts, and what a great day we had. Friendly, approachable staff, so many aerial trials to get round; in fact so many we had to come back on another day later in the week to complete them!! in addition you get a giant netted trampoline to have fun on! All for 27 Euro per person, in the UK at Go Ape this would have cost over double and only for 2 hours, great fun and great value, 10/10
Andrew H — Google review
I could bring my dog and relax at the resting area while my kids and husband were doing the activity. However, wifi connection was very poor and I couldn't use my phone. I think they may have their own wifi connection.
Chisato O — Google review
Having training days in peak season, therefore only 2 green routes open which jams them up, waited ten minutes without moving so had to turn back.
Patrick M — Google review
What a cracking family day out! Top tip: If you're planning a visit, book the day before. The first day we got there at 11am and the treetops area was already sold out. Bad research on my part. We booked online and returned the following day and had a fantastic day, so glad we did this! Have been to several of these in both UK and France and this was by far the best. From start to finish the whole place was top notch. Staff, briefings, security, climbing equipment was all excellent. The courses were awesome... Seemed trickier than comparable in UK and only 2 of our 6 were brave / strong / foolhardy enough to do the black course. The remainder of us managed the red runs but they were challenging in places. Such a lot of fun. Would recommend you get there early and plan to stay all day. The restaurant was great too, not super expensive and really tasty. Coming towards the end of our holiday here and without a doubt the best thing we have done. Highly recommended. And we don't say that lightly as a family with 4 teenagers on holiday!

Such a great experience had with the Tourist Office in Saint Jean De Mont. myself and my partner had no idea about bud times to Atlantic Tobbogan and bud times to take us back to Nantes Airport. On arrival into the tourist office we were greeted by a lovely woman, as me and my partner don’t have a word of French, the Tourist Office worker was so helpful and explained all the bus routes and where we should get on and get off. She literally saved the day and make our day stress free when it comes to transport. She also explained how we get back to Nante Airport with very clear and precise direction. I wish I got her name as I would love to give her A shout out in this review but the lady working there was tremendous and the whole tourist office is in such an ideal location, is spotlessly clean and very very helpful.

The office produces a booklet each year of summer activities. These cost very little or nothing and are super activities for families visiting the area - we have done roller skating, orienteering (3 different years), sailing and have used the information provided for various other aspects of our holiday. Highly recommend a visit to the tourist office if you are in the area - also the staff that provide the activities are consistently fantastic - thank you!

MINI-GOLF Loisirs des Marines is a charming mini-golf course located in a small pine forest, providing shade and a pleasant atmosphere. The well-maintained facility offers Vendee-themed slopes with beautiful flowers, creating a picturesque setting. Visitors can expect a warm welcome and clean surroundings, making it an enjoyable experience for all. The local-themed holes are challenging and thoughtfully designed, while amenities such as score sheet holders and brooms add to the convenience.
This is one of the best crazy golf courses I have played. All holes have a local theme, they are challenging and well laid out. There are places to put your score sheet and brooms to sweep away any leaves from the shady pine trees. Excellent.

Great course, kept the theme very traditional and local. Went with a family of 5 and had great fun. Got held up at the end waiting for people in front but we just played the hole again while we waited. Kids went on the go carts very simple track but they had a blast.

The welcome is really professional, the owners are very welcoming and dedicated to customers. Great for on-site snacks. Smoothies, Paninis, and Milkshakes are great. REALLY a great experience, great private and secure parking... BRAVO and recommended.... If you're looking for an exhilarating adventure, the Accro Spider Géant 85 is a must-visit! This thrilling attraction allows kids to channel their inner superheroes as they navigate through a high-flying obstacle course. With safety nets in place, participants can take on various challenges without the worry of falling. It's an ideal spot for families seeking fun and excitement together. The friendly staff ensures everyone feels comfortable and supported throughout their experience, making it enjoyable for both children and adults alike.
We visited littoral quad with a ten year old and 2x13 year olds. They all had a shot at the 90cc quads, which they found quite big to handle but the staff were very clear, helpful and attentive which reassured them. The route is big enough to keep interest and has some challenging bends on the additional loop (they can choose not to drive this section if they don't like it). We found 20 minutes was a good length of run and they definitely got their full time. The staff worked so incredibly hard, starting groups off on the training loop, making sure everyone had their full time on the circuit, sorting out minor crashes and those who had driven up the bank! Also very nice that they were able to give instructions in English. A good experience for our children, thank you very much.

Beware ! If a child is under 6 years old they request an adult must also pay the adult rate while also charging for the child. This costs 30euro. In total. They don’t actually care if this paying adult goes on the activity(climbing nets). I find this to be very expensive especially if you have more than 1 child under 6. This activity only really last 1 hour. Very dissatisfied person with large family.
Lorraine C — Google review
The course is ok,you can clearly see all of it before you pay. It usually gives a child 1 to 2 hrs play time, however there is no limit. It is 14€ per child, however if your child is between the age of 3 to 7 they must be accompanied by a paying adult which costs 16€. For our 6 yr old and 8 year old to go on the spider it cost 2 x 14€ for the children and my wife had to accompany my daughter and so we had to pay another 16€ totalling €44. Personally I thought it was a little over priced. There is a snack bar onsite with lunch offerings, again it was expensive with a bottle of drink costing 4€ and lunch was a panini with freis and drink for 12€50. They do allow dogs in the area where yoh can spectate your children.

The Multiplexe Aquatique du Pays de Saint Gilles Croix de Vie Agglomération offers a refreshing aquatic experience, although some visitors have noted that the pool area feels somewhat compact. It can be challenging to fully enjoy the space when certain groups tend to occupy specific areas for extended periods. Additionally, during warmer months, the entrance fees increase, which may deter some families from visiting.
Great pool much better than old one

Very nice pool, clean, spacious but not at all great for young children. The baby pool, just a few inches deep is freezing cold, the middle pool is 1m30 so even on tiptoe my six year old cant touch the floor, as for the main olympic pool, the water is very cold. This place is ideal for adults young and old but not for kids at all.

(Translated by Google) Nothing to say about the staff who are very welcoming, or the hygiene a priori, or the price (yes it is expensive, but a swimming pool costs a lot to the community).... No. The problem comes from the fact that the people who designed this pool said to themselves that it would be sooooo good to have a "Nordic" pool without thinking long term (we should have made them study the Jancovici Mines course..). In the end, with the price of energy, it is closed from November. And even when it is open, the two pools are rarely open at the same time. At the moment, the large indoor pool is even closed to accommodate a few small ones who only use.... two lines!!! So in winter, it is common for only 3 lines to be available................................... Or you have to come in the evening, if you are lucky enough to be able to... So I imagine they do what they can, but honestly it is more and more unbearable.....

(Translated by Google) Swimming pool closed but no communication on the site. Only 1 pool for the public because the other two are for fast swimming. Elderly people were stagnating in the river, I asked a lifeguard if it was possible to ask them to move because we could no longer access it and they replied "you manage yourselves". Not friendly. The baby pool is too cold. I do not recommend it.

(Translated by Google) I'm giving it one star, and I'm being kind. I went with my baby, and the water was too cold in the baby pool. Even for me, I found it very cold. I paid €4 twice for caps and €10 for the entrance fee for barely staying 5 minutes; that's expensive! My baby isn't someone who feels the cold because she's already been in a pool. I find it truly unacceptable that the water in the baby pool is so cold.

(Translated by Google) We came this morning. The pool area was a bit small. The elderly people always stayed in the same place, making it impossible to enjoy it. Also, with the outside doors open, it wasn't warm with babies. Entrance is more expensive in July and August, which is a bit of a shame. (Original) Nous sommes venus ce matin.
