1Hostel Malti

Hostel
Nestled in a 19th-century building, Hostel Malti is a vibrant accommodation option located in St. Julian's, just minutes away from Sliema Promenade and Grand Harbour. This lively hostel offers an outdoor kitchen, BBQ facilities, and a rooftop hot tub for guests to enjoy. The dormitory rooms are adorned with brightly colored walls and free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.
Super kind and welcoming staff! I had to change my booking dates several times and they were always super flexible and kind about it. On my last day, they let me leave my bags, take a shower, eat, and relax until my airport taxi arrived. The lady at the front desk is absolutely lovely. Highly recommend!

Initially I was going to stay here but had an issue with booking, and after seeing what I saw I decided to go somewhere else. The bathroom by reception is filthy, falling apart, and I had a cockroach crawl in while I was using it. The reception itself is a hot box with tiny windows. I can adapt to lack of cleanliness or these kind of issues for a short stay, but the main reason I left was the receptionist honestly worse hostel staff I ever seen. She sat there blasting YouTube videos loud enough for everyone to hear, making you feel like you were interrupting her “me time” just by asking a basic question. I had a booking issue which was why I couldn’t check in, and before even checking, she lazily muttered that she couldn’t help. Easily the most useless, unhelpful hotel staff I’ve ever come across.

the reception people were extremely friendly and the rooftop of this hostel is truly memorable. also very nice people that are staying there - as a female solo traveler I felt very safe. truly. although the vending machine sometimes didn't work haha.
Saulė G — Google review
Perfect location, clean & great value. Secure. WARNING: No lift (hard with 30kg trolley!) + My upper bunk room had NO FAN/WINDOW (very hot!). Still good if prepared
Geevarghese J — Google review
In a room of 14 people and almost 40 degrees weather they only turn on the ac at night which makes being in the room during the day unbearable, and if the air conditioning does work it’s so weak that people further from it still have to suffer. Additionally, in our room it also stopped working during the night which made it horrible. Adding to this, there are cockroaches. I would avoid the hostel, especially because during summer the price is pretty much the same as an air bnb.
Orinta G — Google review
Stuff is unfriendly, people that are staying there are really weird and walking around naked, but the worst thing was this room that is nothing like the pictures. Everything is really dirty and smelly… Walls are falling apart..I have never been this disappointed in accommodation and had to find somewhere else to stay at. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Is the Worst hostel I have ever been in my entire life, I actually had to run away from day one , you can only visit there if you wanna humiliate yourself and have a stinky room , and very very rude stuff , I hated whole Malta because of this hostel!!! Trust me you shouldn’t go there even if it’s for free !

Great place to stay The vibe is super and they have a nice rooftop with jacuzzi where you can chill With has AC every room and a kitchen you can use and leave your food Very good to meet new friends

Hostel
Located in the lively Paceville district, Marco Polo Hostel offers vibrant dorms and elegant private rooms. The hostel features a rooftop terrace with a bar, where guests can unwind and socialize while enjoying refreshments. Despite its central location, the hostel provides a peaceful stay with shared balconies that facilitate meeting new people without noise disturbances. The limited bathroom space is not a major issue, and the air conditioning operates during the night when most guests are out exploring the island.
I had an amazing stay at Hostel Marco Polo! The location is perfect—right in the heart of St. Julian’s, just a short walk from the beach, nightlife, restaurants, and public transport. It’s ideal for both exploring the island and enjoying the local vibe. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The service was excellent—friendly, welcoming staff who made me feel right at home. They were always ready to help with recommendations or any questions I had. You can tell they care about the guests and create a great community atmosphere.

I came here basically for the tour guide Patricia. She was well prepared on the free tours and the super cheap boat and bus tours. She let us live in the present moment, gave us flexibility, and made us really feel welcome. It was so easy to socialize with her. Marco Polo Hostel is the best hostel in the world purely because of Patricia’s attention to detail and her skill at handling big groups. The rooms are fine – you get almost complete darkness even in the six-bed dorm. Lockers feel very secure. You can even request the air conditioning to run the whole day (otherwise it turns on automatically at 10). The rooftop bar has amazing prices, and the location is just unbeatable for what you pay. I was honestly shocked at how good it was. And honestly, Patricia is the reason I’m writing this five-star review – her energy and skill just made the whole stay amazing

I had an absolutely amazing stay at Marco Polo Hostel in Malta! The location is just perfect – right in the heart of St. Julian’s, just steps away from the beach, restaurants, and all the nightlife. You can walk everywhere, which is super convenient. The staff is one of the highlights of the hostel. Always smiling, friendly, and ready to help – whether it’s recommending activities, booking tours, or just having a chat, they really make you feel at home. And the rooftop bar? An absolute gem! The vibe is fantastic, especially at sunset. It’s the perfect spot to meet other travelers, grab a drink, and enjoy the stunning view over the city. The rooms and common areas are clean and well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere is super friendly and welcoming. If you’re looking for a central, social, and warm place to stay in Malta, I 100% recommend Marco Polo Hostel. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Good hostel in excellent location. A Lot of shops, restaurants are close. There are several bus lines which pass by, also from airport. Hostel has a rooftop with bar. The atmosphere was good. Toilets and showers were ok, could be better. Good value for the costs.

The hostel Is beautiful and the rooftop Amazing. Nice location near the most important things. The only thing's could be Better Is the air conditionair in the room and in the hallway. Patricia was our guide and She Is full of Power and energy; she has the Power to make laugh and have fun the other people of the hostel in their tours. She Is the best guide i found. See you soon Enrico

My first trip, 10 days ago, A trip to celebrate my birthday. Not just any but the anniversary .50s. For this reason, we chose the party hostel without expecting much. We were pleasantly surprised. Regardless of the fact that you share a room with 12 strangers, as well as a toilet and a bathroom, you always have some privacy with super curtains on the bed. Hygiene is at an absolute level at all times of the day and night. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Enough from 00-24. On the initiative of my friend, they prepared a very nice surprise for me at the rofftop at midnight, on the occasion of my birthday. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart P.s. I was really amnesiac🤣🤣. The team that worked will know what it is about. We really had an amazing time at your place and we will definitely come back and highly recommend you. Lp. Lina & Melita.

I had such a great time at Marco Polo – it honestly made my trip to Malta extra special. The hostel is super clean, comfy, and has everything you need. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, always smiling and ready to give tips or just have a chat. And also incredible bar! The views are stunning, the drinks are great, and the vibe is just perfect – fun, relaxed, and social. I met amazing people from all over the world, and every evening up there felt like a little celebration. If you're coming to Malta and want a place that’s fun, welcoming, and in a great location, Marco Polo is 100% the place to be. Can’t wait to come back!

Cockroaches in the shower and extremely dirty!! Don’t be fooled by the good reviews! We stayed in a 12 bed room and it was (mostly) a nasty experience. showers and toilets were dirty & broken, no soap, no towels to dry hands, broken faucets, smells disgusting. Rooms were ok but very run down, a lot of stuff broken like curtains, the window glass was broken and had a hole that apparently no one bothered to fix. Elevator is run down and very slow (but does its job i guess). Rooftopbar is kinda nice, a good opportunity to meet new people and party, nice view of the city. We didn’t make use of the kitchen so can’t judge on that. All in all we were very shocked upon arrival, also because the surroundings in St Julian’s are traumatizing to say the least but i guess that’s what you sign up for when you stay in this area. We stayed only 3 nights but are extremely relieved to leave. Employees were nice and polite. Though one of the members of staff spilled a drink on my friends head when she unattantively tried to empty a beer into a flowerbed. There’s a lot of free activities and trips organized by the hostel which is nice, especially for people who travel alone.

Hostel
Boho Hostel in St Julian's is a vibrant adults-only hostel with a garden, communal kitchen, and TV lounge. The hostel offers free Wi-Fi and features mixed gender as well as separate male and female dormitories. Situated in the Ta' Giorni district, it is just a 5-minute stroll from Balluta Bay Beach. Guests can relax in the garden with hammocks and sun loungers or socialize in the spacious living room.
We loved our stay here! I went with two friends. I made a mistake with the booking (totally my fault) and only booked for one instead of three. The day before our arrival I realized my mistake. I mailed the hostel and they were really quick with the response. They were able to put us three in the same room for 3/5 days we were there which was so nice of them. The staff was friendly, the other travelers as well. If you're in Malta to party or just to chill, this is the prefect spot for everyone. We participated in a bar crawl which was so fun. The staff cleans the hallways and the bathrooms every morning. I loved every second of our stay. Would definitely recommend!

Boho more like living like a hobo???? My friends and I stayed here and we are not hard to please. I was literally freezing cold my entire 3 night stay. Want a blanket? Nah they all dirty. If you want to take a hot shower bring a wetsuit because they were ice cold. Staff was nice and there was a great community vibe but the community was accompanied by 100,000 ants. Not only are they all over every floor, wall, and room! Nothing says “authentic hostel experience” like waking up spooning an ant This is not a party hostel but there definitely is an ant party… oh and people playing bongos til 3am in the living room. Legit sounded like a live bongo concert in my room If you do want to party don’t even worry about being quiet when you get back because the beds make the loudest creeks if you breathe near them. Honestly concerning and puzzling how the other reviews are so good. This could be a really good boho vibey spot if there was to a bongo concert in my room with a freaky ant audience. Also no need to set an alarm because the maintenance man will be in your room fixing paint bright an early. Overall the hostel was safe with nice people and staff but I would’ve slept better in a tent outside.
Remy K — Google review
In general an average hostel. we had the double room + the common spaces are fine, the kitchen is big & good fridge, staff is very friendly - window only to a small courtyard where the garbage bin is, the whole room stank from that, location is in a quiet area which is nice but also far away from everything, the decoration in the room is very questionable (bullfighting picture above the bed haha)

Lovely hostel with a homey vibe, very clean and peaceful. We stayed one week in the twin room and had a very comfortable stay. People who stay there are kind and respectful, and the staff is great! Would go back without hesitation. Thank you Penny for having us :)

Hostel
Follow The Sun Boutique Hostel offers a charming pool terrace, a spacious kitchen with a retractable roof, cozy beds, and an excellent location near the waterfront. The interior exudes a boutique atmosphere, and accommodation options include 12-bed dorms and twin rooms.
I had a great time while staying here. The staff was super friendly, I made some great friends with other residents and the location was perfect! The AC in the rooms was a god send as it was a solid 95F/35C during my whole stay. I felt very safe staying here and when I had a difficult roommate the staff took my concern seriously and spoke with the person. The morning breakfast isn't fancy, but it has the basics and I was happy with what was available. There is a Spar (grocery store) right down the road, so it was easy to buy water, snacks, etc. My only disappointment was that the hostel bar closed at 19:00/7:00pm which I thought was really early.

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed at! The balconies with most of the rooms are awesome. The breakfast is super great to fuel you for your day exploring the island. Great rooms and super great atmosphere! The pool is awesome too! Great place and will 100% be coming back next time!

It’s the little details that make this hostel great. We stayed 9 nights and they offered to change our towels every few days, and our sheets mid-stay. The beds were comfortable with intimacy curtains, and electric plugs for each bed. We enjoyed the pool each afternoon after a day of visits in the hot Maltese sun. The location was great, easy to get to Valletta on the public buses, walking distance to the bars in St Julian’s.
Catherine F — Google review
amazing hostel. wonderful and clean rooms, the location is very practical (almost no stairs to go here and the beach and shops are very near by), the breakfast was included and there is even a bar that for the first cocktail we had a 50% off. I only stayed for one night. also there is a very cool pool and hamak. LOVE IT.
Saulė G — Google review
One of the best hostels I’ve stayed at. The location is amazing (200m from the nearest beach) and the facilities are all great. It has a very relaxed and airy loungeroom, and a small pool where guests hang around which makes it super easy to meet new people! Also, the staff is super caring and warm, which makes you want to return (as I did, since I came here for my second time during my trip to Malta).
Amadej P — Google review
Excellent location, but there was never hot water in the showers. At the same time, there was a LONG waiting check-in time, approx 1 hr and there was only a line of 8 people. Moreover, adapting more charging ports (other than a single extension) for European standards would be great, this way people wont depend on only one single spot in the hostel to charge their devices, as MANY were using them most of the day. I say this, because I paid 50 euros per night at a hostel, thus, I was expecting a bit more detailed care. Other than that, great place, but can improve.
Juan L — Google review
I’ve been in around 10 hostels in Europe and by far this is the best hostel I ever visited. The location is perfect - close to the beach, supermarket, party area. Rooms are very clean and bed is comfortable, there is air conditioner in the room and pool is just amazing!! I had so much fun meeting people and the stuff is really friendly, good breakfast and I hope I’ll come back one day ❤️. thank you !

A/C is loud. Roosters cockadoodledoo at 5:45AM. The beds aren't great. The showers don't have a clothes rack or hanger for the towel. The door to the bathroom opens inward and is awkward to get in and out of. Overall clean. They have a bar, happy hour, decent hostel breakfast including an espresso machine. It's not bad, especially for a hostel, but it could use several improvements. Great location. Friendly staff.

Hostel
The Rose Hostel St. Julian's offers a homely and comfortable stay with spacious beds featuring individual lights and curtains for privacy. The hostel is conveniently located in the center of the nightlife area, making it ideal for solo travelers looking for a budget-friendly accommodation. While there used to be free sparkling water, there is still a water dispenser available. The sleeping areas provide good isolation and privacy, with multiple bathrooms available.
First time that me and and my friend went to a hostel(two girls). It was really nice experience. The rooms were very clean, quiet and the stuff was extremely helpful, location was also really good with an amazing view of the small port and the bus station near by. Definitely worth it !!
Maririna K — Google review
Overall we really enjoyed our stay at rose hostel. The reception staff were so friendly and helpful and we thank them for a really positive experience. Double bed in shared dorm was really comfy, there are lockers in room for your stuff and key code on main door 24/7 - however no locks on individual bedroom doors. There were usb charger points by bed but only one wall plug socket for a six bed dorm which was an inconvenience to us as our chargers were not all usb. Good privacy with curtains on individual beds but no curtains on main window so could be quite bright in morning. Really great location could not be better! but beware it is quite noisy from street traffic. Our main frustration was we planned to stay 5 nights but due to unforeseen circumstances we had to reduce to 3 nights. We requested from management to cancel and refund for the 2 extra nights we would not be staying (with at least 2 weeks notice of this) but they refused any refund stating they have a 30 day notice period… it would have been nice to even do partial refund with reasonable notice like this but that is just the policy here. We would stay again but wouldnt book so far in advance in case of needing to cancel
Sophie E — Google review
Do NOT stay here. Unsafe, dirty, and falsely advertised. The Rose Hostel in St. Julian’s was by far the worst accommodation I stayed at during my trip. It felt like a scam and left me genuinely uncomfortable and unsafe. Here’s everything that was wrong: • No breakfast, no kitchen — even though their website said they served breakfast. The “kitchen” is a closet with a sink and a microwave. That’s it. • Absolutely no staff on site. I arrived and no one was there. Check-in was done through WhatsApp, and they left an envelope with my name and key code on the front desk. Zero security or privacy. • Because I arrived at night (since there was no one there to check me in), I was forced to sign a backdated contract. That felt shady and borderline illegal. • The entire hostel is not secure. You can enter through the downstairs bar (which is just as sketchy as the rest of the place) with no security checkpoints. Dorm room doors don’t lock — only your locker does. • I booked what I thought was an all-female dorm, but ended up rooming with three loud, inconsiderate guys. I felt deeply uncomfortable and unsafe. • Dorm bed curtains were stained, and the entire room had a grimy, unclean vibe. • Shower curtains were disgusting, there were no hooks in the bathrooms, and there’s no counter space. Bathroom lights are located outside the bathroom, which is just absurd. • No A/C, no fans, and no communal space. This isn’t a hostel with any kind of community or atmosphere. It’s just a bad, cheap hotel with bunk beds. • The fourth-floor dorm overlooks the lower dorm — no sound privacy whatsoever. • Top bunk stairs are awkward with every other step missing. Locker closets are so tall you can’t even reach inside properly. • The stairs were under construction, dangerously narrow, and poorly built — I wouldn’t be surprised if someone got hurt. • There’s no drinking water, just a tiny trash bin, and you have to ask for WiFi. • The bar “Minus One,” which seems to be part of the hostel, was completely empty and had creepy vibes. I honestly don’t know how this place is legally operating as a hostel. Everything felt thrown together, unprofessional, and borderline unsafe. I left feeling like I’d been duped. Stay literally anywhere else.

The hostel is very well located, but the internet is terrible. It doesn't work while you're in bed. There are no sockets in the beds, only 2 sockets in the entire room, which has six beds. The air conditioning is controlled by the receptionist, who turns it on whenever he wants and chooses the temperature himself. He left it at 24 degrees for the night with six people sleeping in the same room. In other words, the room was unbearably stuffy and hot. I couldn't sleep at all. The kitchen and dining room facilities are terrible. The microwave is on one floor and the tables are on another. The dining room area looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months, as it was dirty and smelly.
Marina M — Google review
My name is Andrey Yakhnovets. I consciously booked a hostel stay, understanding the format, but the conditions in which I was accommodated do not even meet the basic standards of a hostel and basic hygiene. I was placed on a bunk bed with other guests, although there were many free beds in the room. This created an extremely inconvenient and unpleasant situation. On the bottom bunk, a sweet couple slept on one bed, which did not calm down all night. In addition, the room was unsanitary: personal belongings, food, garbage were scattered around. People in the room were noisy, interfering with rest. I did not find a single socket for charging a phone - in the 21st century, this is unacceptable even in budget housing. I believe that such conditions are unacceptable at a price of 50 euros per night. Please consider the possibility of compensation This place is a bad example for the hospitality industry. Neither in comfort nor in sanitary conditions does it correspond to the concept of "hostel". Rather, it is a shameful experiment on tourists
Andrii I — Google review
I visited this hostel with my friends in July. I booked 4 beds from booking.com but when we arrived, they gave us 2 double beds instead of 4. We discussed this with the owner and she said it was booking's fault but the will give us a full refund so we left and never stayed at this hostel. This happened on July 11th. 1 month has passed and I still haven't received my refund. I contact booking.com about 2-3 times a week and they keep telling me they need written permission from the owner in order to issue my refund but the owner isn't replying to their emails. I also contact the owner 2-3 days a week and they keep telling me it's booking that doesn't reply. I never had such problems in the past so here is my review. They promised me a 200 euro refund (full price) for the wrong beds they provided me and I got back nothing. I'll change my review if they decide to give me back my money. UPDATE: The owner lied to us about giving us a refund and now says no refund will be given. They don't even care about ruining their image for 200 euros.. Stay away from this hostel.

Would like to say that it's the best deal you can have as a bagpacker , good price for the service provided. Well situated in st julian ( 30mn from airport ) , night clubs at 10mn walking , restaurants and coffee shop outside. Good staff , they give you 2 towels and that's nice , amazing view from the room. Wish that the check-out will be at 11 or 12 at least not 10 because it's too early See you next time !

Honestly one of my best stays ever:) Comfy, big beds with curtains, lockers to which you get keys, everyday cleaning, air conditioning in rooms. Every room has its bathroom but there's another outside the room if you need it. There's a kitchen, a dining room on the bottom floor, generally everything you need:) The staff was very kind and helpful, they even let us leave the bags and use the bathroom after our checkout. Oh, and the localization was really good, near was the bus stop with buses to basically everywhere, supermarket, Costa, McDonald's:) Top hostel, would really recommend:)

Spinola Bay is a vibrant and scenic area in St. Julians, Malta, known as the town's gastronomic heart. The bay is adorned with small boats and offers a variety of restaurants with outdoor seating that serve both local and international cuisine. Overlooking the coast are traditional fishing boats housed below the restaurants, providing a picturesque backdrop for open-air dining during balmy summer evenings.
This bay is beautiful, one of the most beautiful places I have walked through in Malta; Eating ice cream or dessert in this area was very fun. Obligatory meeting point with friends to eat and have a few drinks. Here you can understand Maltese culture a little more.

Such an underrated bay. Cozy ambiente at night and a lot of restaurants. Paceville is just around the corner.

Beautiful bay positioned between St Julians and Silema with a number of good bars and restaurants scattered around. Lovely during the day and great for people watching but stunning at night. Have a meal and then take a stroll around the bay.

Nice area to walk around: portomasso - spinola - balluta bay and the promenade between st Julians and Sliema Tigne point. It can be a very pleasant place, when it's not extremely busy.

Great views especially in the evening or at night. A long promenade up to Balluta Bay and then to Sliema. A lot of bars, cafes, restaurants along just to find a place to relax at sea.

Granny's Inn Hostel offers both basic dorms and private rooms in a relaxed atmosphere. The hostel features a fully equipped kitchen and two terraces, as well as complimentary Wi-Fi. Unlike the bustling Marco Polo Hostel, Granny's Inn is centrally located but on the quieter side. The beds are comfortable for a hostel, and the private rooms have functioning air conditioning. Guests can also take advantage of the available fridge to store water or snacks.
Extraordinary staff and Hostel, very clean! Quiet also. Three terraces to hang out and a big kitchen. Fridge in each room. Comfortable sturdy beds and rooms cleaned daily. 10 minute walk to ferries. Close to bus stops. AC/heat/fans. Cute walkable neighborhood ten minutes in two directions from the water. Safe. I'm am a solo female travelor. Office hours in morning but staff on site. Owner responsive if needed. Easy stairs. No lift. Enjoy! This is a special hostel! Look for the red awning above the front door.

Looking for a cozy hostel that feels like home? Look no further! ✨ This place is spotless, with great fans and AC. The staff is super helpful and chill. Plus, it's a quick 3-4 minute walk to the beach and bus station. 🏖️ Nighttime hangs on the balcony/rooftop are where it's at – just be ready to make some new friends! 😊 Thanks for the amazing week, Granny! 🙏

Wonderful place, excellent location, total value for money ! Highly recommended. Liked · One of the nicest hostels I've ever stayed in. It felt like a home than a hostel. 1. Location was great, hardly 5-7mins walk to the supermarkets, main street, bus stops, waterfront etc in Sliema City 2. Room was nice and large. Good space for 6 people on 3 bunk beds. Had good sized lockers too. There was also a fridge in the room to store your food. And a sink for hand/face wash, brushing etc 3. A fully equipped kitchen, to make your meals. A free food cabinet for guests to use and/or leave behind anything. 4. There was also a take it/leave it basket for guests to leave their stuff for other guests to use or take. I thought that was a super nice thing 5. Staff were humble, friendly and helpful with anything you asked for. 6. The welcome email that was sent after the booking was done, was super detailed with everything a guest needs to know before and after arrival. 7. The common area in the lobby and on the 2nd floor and the terrace were all very nice common areas rightly set up to facilitate a social atmosphere that a hostel should :) Disliked · 1. Nothing that I can think of tbh ! I'm very picky when I write feedback but there was not one thing I didn't like bout Granny's Inn !
Akil N — Google review
room was mediocre, but worse was the staff, girls recruited from the exchange students that sleep in the dorm rooms, young, no experience, arrogant, unfriendly. I gave a five star rating on Airbnb, as there were no problems with the room, clean but nothing exceptional. I checked in with self-check-in and encountered a girl starting a video call in german language as a teacher sitting down at my desk in the living room. gave her her privacy met her twice the day after with a few gentle words in german on check out I met her as official staff receptionist, gave her my compliments for her new job, and received an angry response from her part, that she does not receive any payment. I do not know if she got angry at me for me addressing her in german, or because she does not receive any payment. Got Your feedback, that sounds as if I molested Your female STAFF, not one but plural. I am still in contact with Malta Police Force as well as Malta Tourism Authority as with my local lawyer, as any attempt to reach you to review and remove Your feedback on Airbnb for sexual molesty by my part did not receive any answer within a week. I will go all the way to file a report for infamation, employment of foreign staff without working permit and without health care insurance. I do not know how You are able to run an establishment like Yours without ever being present or responding timely to cusomer complaints.

I enjoyed my time at the granny’s inn! Location is perfect, just 5min to the beach/coast of Sliema and the bus stop. Shops and everything you need in 5-10min walking max. It’s not a party place so you can expect to be able to sleep well :) I was in a room with AC which was perfect. There are extra blankets which are nice when the AC is on. Check in is possible at every time. I came at around 12:30am and they gave me the code to enter and put my keys in a box near the reception :) There is a kitchen to use but I didn’t. Also a common room in the second floor and nice rooftop terrace. 3 points to improve: - I stayed on the first floor and unfortunately the bathroom door is still not fixed (as mentioned in other reviews). Would be nice if that could be fixed. - add curtains to the beds for more privacy. - the hostel is not very social. Could be changed if there would be an events or gathering 2-3 weeks organized by the owners/staff for example in the roof top (which is a nice place)

I have been assaulted in this hostel!!!!!!! Sunday, 9:30 at night I was taking a shower listening to music. This guy from the room 6 (the room I was hosted) and his son (that are frequently hosted there) harassed me!!! It was the worst experience of my life!!! They were screaming at me and threatening to beat me just because of music I was listening to while showering (the bathroom is far from the rooms). I felt so bad about this situation and they kept insulting me and telling I should leave the hostel. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FOR ANYONE. This was the worst hostel experience I ever had. I felt disrespected and afraid, feelings we should not have while vacation. I needed to spend the whole night in the streets without being able to access the service I had payed for. PLEASE LOOK FOR ANOTHER ACCOMMODATION.
Victor C — Google review
It’s a decent hostel but my experience was not great at all. I booked a female dorm with AC, a few hours after check in I noticed that most girls in the room were staff members. Don’t get me wrong I have no issue with sharing a room with the volunteers, but it’s different to stay in a dorm with other travelers versus people that actually live there, I always felt uncomfortable, like I was invading THEIR room. There was barely any space for my belongings and my things were moved a few times. They never turned the AC on, the one time I asked if they were turning it on, they turned on the ceiling fan and gave me the impression they didn’t want AC, therefore I was again uncomfortable to ask. My bed was the lowest in a 3 tier bunk bed, so I could not feel the air of the ceiling fan. There was a tabletop fan next to my bed, but had a EU plug (Malta has UK outlets) and I had only one adapter, so I had to choose between charging my electronics or sleeping with a fan. My last night I finally turned the AC on while alone in the room, I was woken up to whispers from the girls and heard them turn off the AC and leave the room. Later they came back & turned it on but at 28° C, same temperature as outside, needless to say I once again had a horrible night. Every morning I was woken up by the volunteers alarms, and they would start having conversations in the room while I tried to sleep, I know it’s a part of hostel life and sharing a dorm, but I would expect a little more respect from the staff towards their guests. One night the girls decided to talk about other staff members in the room at almost midnight, not caring that me and an other guest were present. As a hostel manager myself, I don’t think it’s appropriate to air out dirty laundry in front of other guests, especially when guests are trying to sleep. My recommendations for management is to allocate one of your rooms for ONLY staff, not only to avoid experiences like mine, but to give your staff their safe space free from guests. Also have a manager present (if there currently is, have this person introduce themselves to the guests, I never saw anyone “in charge”). I really wanted to address my concerns to someone, but I never saw any management around. Found several cockroaches in the shower.

Balluta Bay is a charming small bay located in St. Julians, Malta, offering a modest beach where visitors can enjoy swimming and various water sports activities. The bay is part of the 5km long coastline that includes several distinct spots such as Quisisana, Font Ghadir, Surfside, Exiles, and Spinola Bay. Balluta Bay features a triangular pjazza surrounded by cafes and shaded by Judas trees.

Inħawi Hostel is a vibrant and modern accommodation option located near Belluta Bay in Saint Julian's. The hostel offers a communal kitchen, outdoor pool, and dormitory-style rooms with shared bathrooms. It has a relaxed atmosphere and attracts digital nomads and students, creating a small community vibe. The beautiful building features spacious areas and clean facilities, including a well-equipped kitchen with ample refrigerator space for guests' food storage.
The hostel has a great location—close to the bus station, restaurants, and even a nearby beach (though locals don't seem to recommend it). The breakfast offers several options, and you can enjoy a lovely view while eating. There’s also a swimming pool within the relaxation area, and also a kitchen where food is neatly labeled. The staff were attentive and even let us stay after check-out while we waited for our flight. Rooms and bathrooms were kept spotlessly clean thanks to daily cleaning. Overall, a pleasant stay!

Very nice hostel! The staff is friendly and helpful, always ready to assist. The rooms are clean, with daily housekeeping. There are comfortable areas for both relaxing and working — I especially liked the cozy terrace and the garden spaces for spending time outdoors. Great location: close to bus stops, with easy access to the sea, and surrounded by plenty of cafes, restaurants, and shops. A perfect place for a comfortable stay.

Stayed here for my first solo trip and couldn’t have picked a better place to stay! The staff was very nice and I met so many great people here. I’m pretty picky when it comes to cleanliness and the rooms and bathrooms were so clean! There are quiet areas for those who need to work/study and the pool area is a great place to socialize and meet new people. As a solo female traveler, I’ve never felt safer before. The locals were very friendly and helpful and it’s nice that most people speak English. This is the perfect country for females traveling solo for the first time! I will stay here again when I come back to Malta.

I stayed in a shared dorm which is nice to solo travelers to keep your own privacy on the bed surrounded by curtains. And the room was kept all the time clean by the friendly and helpful staff. Besides, the location of the hostel is perfect for people who would prefer a quiet night in St Julian. At breakfast time, the view of the sea is fantastic.
Sylvia W — Google review
For a hostel this was great value. Breakfast included with a sweet and savoury, pool area to relax in, a kitchen with option to store food. Rooms were cleaned daily and the lockers were a good size, I liked that could keep our suitcase open in them. I was on a top bunk right next to the aircon so was glad I had a jumper as it did get a bit cool right under it. It wasn’t too noisy aside from the local roosters in the park next to it, which is out of the hostels control.
Emma H — Google review
Amazing hostel, in the middle of calmness yet few min away from everything. Well connected with transport. The place is clean, the workers are super nice and breakfast is included. Ideal for solo travelers and groups of all ages. I will definitely come back!
Babysooz — Google review
There are many beautiful places in the world, but this hostel isn’t worth your money. If you bring a good pair of earplugs, you might survive the noise – the rooster concert is funny, but the AC is a nightmare. I’d honestly prefer the roosters over the horrible, Anatolian-farmer-style air conditioner. It’s Malta, not a Russian winter – who needs that thing at night? If you’re into insomnia tourism, this hostel will be top-tier for you. I also found a dead bug next to my bed – just in case you’re into that kind of local “flavor.” I personally avoid English- and German-speaking countries. Don’t ask me why. This place isn’t far from hell – but then again, Malta is trash anyway. Good luck finding any sane Europeans. Watch out for greasy, tall men lurking around who like to sexually harass women. Also beware of narcissists who randomly ask if you’ve “taken your meds” – like they’re anyone to talk.

It is bright and clean and has an amazing location. They have a beautiful garden and pool. Staff was friendly and nice and so were other guests. It is located pretty centrally so you’re able to see all the major sights. They also have a well organized food storage system for travellers who cook.

Two Pillows Boutique Hostel in Sliema, Malta is a great choice for solo travelers or those on a budget. The hostel offers clean and comfortable dorms and private rooms, some with sea views. The friendly staff provides helpful information about the area and transportation options. Guests can enjoy the terrace with a BBQ grill and even book a jacuzzi experience. Although there are no closets with hangers in the rooms, the under-bed storage boxes are convenient for keeping belongings organized.
Our stay was lovely. The location was perfect, tucked away on a quiet street just one block quick walking distance from anything you could need. Having our room made up each day was nice and every attendant we encountered was pleasant and helpful. The taxi scheduling service for airport transfer was super helpful. The jacuzzi and sauna were a huge bonus as well as the private balcony in the room we booked. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone needing a place to stay while they visit Malta. Clean, cozy, safe, quiet, overall wonderful.

The overall experience was positive, good location and clean. In spite of that our experience was the not the best as there were some unforeseen occurrences. Before arrival we were assured by booking that no other fees were going to be charged and upon arrival the staff insisted in charging a 3% fee if payment were to be maid by card. After confronting the staff with the information from booking informing us otherwise, the staff said “it doesn’t say there, but I’m saying it to you now”. Other than that, the room had no privacy as it was in front of the reception meaning that anytime anyone would come in everyone could see everything. Additionally, the bathroom could use some maintenance.
Inês S — Google review
Excellent hotel to spend your stay. We feel good there, everything is almost within reach around us in the neighborhood. The staff is very kind and caring. The rooms are spacious, beautiful and new and particularly clean. We feel very good there. Only the sound insulation is quite poor, (thick walls but door with non-soundproof frames), we hear everything. Bad coincidence, the resident of the neighboring building next to our room was doing work and used his hammer extensively from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. ... and sometimes drill in the morning around 9 a.m. ... but the hotel has nothing to do with it so I do not reflect it on the final score.
Jojo S — Google review
Such a gem! I really enjoyed my stay here (all together I stayed 5 nights). The staff was super kind and helpful, I loved the spa area, the rooms were generally clean and the common areas were cozy to relax in. There's also a laundry service (14 Euro of I recall) that was fast and efficient. The beds in the dorms were really comfy and with the aircon the temperature at night was perfect for me. The only things that I would improve is to change the bathroom doors. The current ones have a glass part that keys through light, which is disrupting during the night. The common kitchen is well equipped and moderately clean. There are many people using it, so it's understandable that it won't be completely clean. I think there should be more trash bins though to avoid overflow.

A lovely place to spend a few days in Sliema! Perfect location and amazing staff. It feels more like a boutique hotel than a hostel, with a nice spa area that includes a jacuzzi and sauna. Quick tip: take the ferry to Valletta instead of the bus — it only takes about 5 minutes to get there!

Corner Hostel, situated in a prime location in Sliema, Malta, offers a familial atmosphere and casual vibe. The hostel is conveniently located near Exiles station and bay, providing easy access to Valletta City. While some guests found the towel rental and electric socket rental slightly pricey compared to other hostels in Europe, others appreciated the clean facilities and recently renovated rooms.
Hi! I'm glad to inform you that Corner Hostel is always the right choice, no matter the reason why you are staying in Malta. If you are a short-trip traveller you'll find a comfortable room to go back to after your day around the island. If you are a long-stay traveller or a remote worker like me, you'll find nice and welcoming receptionists, always ready to satisfy your needs. I'll never forget the days I spent at Corner Hostel and the people I met, from all-ages and international guests to the the receptionists. Federica

I had a lovely stay for 9 nights. The staff was very charming and we had nice chats. They also gave me good advice on trips around the islands. The room was clean and the view from my room to the bay was stunning. It is a small hostel with a kitchen right at the reception. People were generally nice and respectful. No parties were held in the hostel. I slept very well although the beds are a bit squeaky. Sliema centre is just a 10 minutes foot walk away. The nearby bus station Exiles Bay is a good starting point for bus trips northwards or even to Valetta. Sliema‘s beach is just a footwalk up to 5 minutes away. There are several supermarkets and grocery stores nearby. In general the surrounding is very nice with old Maltese houses with their typical balconies. It is quiet, too.

The Corner Hostel has the best staff service, specially Dhanraj (he is the best host). I was really happy in my stay in this place. I loved the big kitchen and the proximity with the beach, the good restaurants and the gelatterias.

Dhanraj was incredibly warm and kind — not just with us, but with everyone staying at the hostel. He’s a truly special human being: always attentive, always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. I’m going to miss him deeply, and I genuinely hope to return to Malta just to have the pleasure of staying again under his care. He’s the best host I’ve ever met! The entire place is spotless, and one of the best things is that it’s just a short walk from the beach. The perfect combination of comfort, care, and location.

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Avoid This Place I booked a 7-night stay at Corner Hostel and was shocked by the condition of the dorm. The bathroom was broken and filthy—completely unacceptable for any guest. I stayed only one night (because I arrived late) and left the next day, requesting a cancellation and refund for the remaining 6 nights. The worst part? No support from the desk assistant or manager, zero accountability despite multiple messages sent. I never received a reply. This experience was stressful, unhygienic, and a complete waste of time and money. I absolutely do not recommend this place.
SANDRA B — Google review
Honestly, staying in this hostel really wasn’t a pleasant experience. Super unfortunate because the receptionists were really really lovely, but the rooms were just unbearably hot with only 2 fans that barely worked. We had so much trouble sleeping due to the heat and wished that we had stayed elsewhere. I hate to leave a bad review since the staff members were kind and welcoming but I genuinely would not recommend this hostel to anyone staying in Malta because of the heat in the room :( I hope they are able improve this & get extra fans or something!
Dija F — Google review
Corner Hostel isn’t accommodation — it’s a social experiment gone rogue. Think budget paradise meets sauna retreat: no air-con, just the sweet sound of eight strangers sweating in unison at 3am. You come for a bed, but what you really get is heatstroke therapy, accidental group bonding, and a dozen new best mates you never asked for. Check in innocent, check out dehydrated, traumatised, and somehow happier than ever.

My friend was robbed in the hostel and the staff done nothing to solve who done it The air conditioning was like a vending machine you had to use coins but the one in my room was completely broken so sleeping was extremely difficult. The kitchen was disgusting cockroach in the fridge when we arrived the place was filthy, food cooked and raw left in the fridge a lot of cross contamination
Cillian F — Google review
The hostel is of very low quality. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, stove and pans and pots destroyed by people. The luggage lockers in the rooms do not close and the air conditioning was damaged.
Pawel T — Google review
We booked a twin room. When we came first thing i noticed is that some of the tiles on the floor are moving up an down which can be dangerous. The water pressure in the shower is very bad and the shower head is tiny. The room comes with an AC, but there is some coin meter the owner said, basically saying that it is not free to use, and that you will be charged extra even if the offer says twin room with AC. We had a small balcony which was nice but some of the glass on the windows were broken. There is also a “room service” where they clean thrash everyday, but the problem is that they also took other things that were not in a thrash like a bootle of water which was sitting on the table, and which we were still using. Considering the whole situation it gives me unpleasant feeling leaving stuff in the room. Kitchen downstairs is dirty and the pans and stuff are so overused and needs to be replaced. The fridge smells terrible and is also very dirty. On the hallway downstair there is post from Hostelworld where their rating is 8,4, but then i went to check and it says 5,4 now. Overall, the location is very nice but the accomodation is not something i would recommend and would rather pay a little extra to stay somewhere else.

Hostel is located in a great location, and that's the only good thing about it. The rooms and bathroom are very dirty, as well as the towels. The kitchen is definitely a source of contamination. The most important thing you should pay attention to is safety. There are people staying in the hostel who are not guests and don't work there. They have a code to enter, use the rooms and bathroom for overnight stays, and then disappear in the morning when the hostel owner arrives. If this hostel has security cameras, how does the owner not notice such things and people who are very suspicious? The picture I am attaching is of a man who has been living in this hostel for a month, using the rooms and bathroom and having access to everything. He just disappears in the morning and comes back in the evening. It would be good if the owner acted responsibly towards guests and their property.

Positives:The hotel is okay for the price range. I made friends yeiii!Very good location.Access to transport, beach, nearby areas very convenient The street itself was quite safe as I did an evening stroll.Nice eateries around but I’ll advice anyone to walk abit further the main roads to get fair prices.Lidl was nearby 10minutes walk. The Balcony was my favourite Facilities:I was sent a check in instruction ,password, room keys got 2white sheets n a pillow case.Room was generally okay ,I was in a mixed room. The wifi was ish ish Negative:The place was generally dirty especially the bathroom like our place we were abit strict with our roommates but the shower curtain was very dirty(disgusting)like stained n all,I even asked the housekeeper and she said the are only cleaned on sartuday . I stayed 4days and I was annoyed I had to use the same sheets the whole stay .I mean it’s a staycation for a reason. The fridge🥲was chaos with spillages but that lies probably on clients but I think there should be away to keep it clean. Someone stole my charge cable😭😭to be honest I was so annoyed 😒 and inconvenienced. Overall my stay was good 5/10 o would describe it as convenient.

Located in the heart of Paceville, Malta's vibrant nightlife district, be.Hotel is a trendy accommodation option within the Baystreet Tourist Complex. This modern 198-room hotel offers Italian dining, a spa, and a rooftop pool with panoramic views of St George's Bay. Just a short walk from the sandy beach and offering Wi-Fi throughout the property, this 4-star hotel provides an affordable and environmentally friendly stay.
Clean rooms. Nice service staff. Good prices for what you get. Rooftop pool was cooled down. Big enough to swim some lanes. Large variety of product at the Breakfast table. Gym is staffed with a toilett, everywhere free Water Stations and a vatiety of Training equipment. Night service was very carring. Room came with complementary gifts like local Soda, Water, local crisps, biscuits and liquour. If I‘m ever visiting Malta again, I would go there a second time.

Our sea view room was stunning and the room was very modern and clean. Reception staff was helpful when needed. The only problem we had is how busy the pool area is. We was out most mornings visiting places so when we come back to the pool area between 1pm and 3pm, there was just no sunbeds available at any time. Understandablely with so many rooms and only a small space around the pool for sun loungers. So if you're planning on wanting to enjoy the pool, I would get up there in the morning. The breakfast buffet is a nice area and the fresh orange is as fresh as it gets. The selection of food and quality was fair and it was never over crowded in there. We arrived early at 12pm and was allowed to check in early at 2pm.

This was my third stay at the same hotel, though in a different room each time. The hotel offers a good selection of rooms, but make sure you confirm exactly what you’re booking in advance; it’s usually fully occupied, so changing rooms at the last minute might not be possible. Overall, my experience was good, though my previous two stays were slightly better. This time, the room felt a bit small and congested; that’s on me for not checking the details carefully. However, the shower cabinet wasn’t properly cleaned, which was a little disappointing. On the positive side, the welcome snacks were nice, although the Kinnie cola didn’t quite meet expectations. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming, and a special thanks to Florina, who was exceptionally helpful in planning my personal yacht trip for deep-water diving. Location was perfect because it's next to beach and party

I stayed at be.HOTEL Malta with two of my friends, and we honestly had such a great time! The hotel itself is lovely, but what really made our stay special was the amazing customer service. Everyone was so friendly and always made sure we were happy and comfortable. A huge shoutout to Hanifah and Mireia, they were absolutely wonderful! So thoughtful, kind, and genuinely caring. They really went out of their way to make us feel welcome and looked after. We left with such good memories and would definitely love to come back again. Highly recommend this hotel, you’ll be in great hands!

I had an amazing stay at Be.Hotel! The location is perfect close to everything, yet still quiet and comfortable. The service was excellent, and all the staff were very polite and professional. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choices. The rooftop pool on the 11th floor is absolutely beautiful, with a stunning sea view definitely one of the highlights of my stay! Special thanks to Ahmed at the reception for his professionalism and great help he made my stay even better. The room was very clean, well-equipped, and well soundproofed I didn’t hear any noise from the clubs nearby. Overall, an excellent hotel with great service and a perfect location. Highly recommended!

Our experience at Be Hotel was exceptional especially with the Housekeeping team, maintenance and guest relations. We had the Quadruple room, they have complimentary drinks like bottled water, soft drinks, tea and coffee which we didn´t expect. They also promote sustainability, recycling. You will enjoy Be.kini and the vicinity around the hotel and you will never be hungry and bored.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days while visiting Malta. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy, but we had no problems. The hotel entrance is located on the ground floor of a shopping mall. Pros: Room - exactly as expected Staff Facilities – pool, gym Minor cons: Only one elevator, so there can be some waiting if accommodated on a higher floor The breakfast buffet was the same every day, but there was plenty of food, so it wasn’t an issue Noisy surroundings in the evening Online check-in is required beforehand. When we arrived, the receptionist handed me a printed copy of the form, erased everything I had filled out online, and I had to complete it manually

The Cavalieri Art Hotel in St Julians offers a relaxed stay with its beachfront location and a range of amenities. The hotel features three restaurants, a cocktail lounge, an outdoor pool, and a spa with an indoor pool. Guests can enjoy the seafront terrace and pool while staying in air-conditioned rooms equipped with free WiFi. The sun deck provides parasols, sun loungers, changing rooms, and showers for convenience.
The reviews for this hotel tend to be either extremely positive or very negative. I was genuinely curious to see for myself. After spending five days here, I can sum it up in one sentence: I would definitely come back. Yes, the rooms may not be luxuriously renovated — they’re modest and show clear signs of wear — but they’re spacious, the terrace is lovely, the view is phenomenal, and the location is excellent. The pools are spotless, the food is delicious and varied, and the staff is incredibly kind. If you're not overly spoiled or expecting five-star luxury, you’ll likely enjoy this charming hotel as much as I did.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I had an incredible stay at the Cavalieri Art Hotel! The room was spacious and comfortable, with a stunning view of the marina and pools. The breakfast was simply delightful – fresh eggs, crispy bacon, and a perfect sunny-side-up egg that looked almost too good to eat! The staff was friendly and helpful, making sure every detail was perfect. The location is just fantastic, right by the water with plenty of nearby attractions and restaurants. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with great views, delicious food, and wonderful service, this hotel is a must-visit!

I had a mostly pleasant stay. The staff were very friendly, the room was clean, and the view was beautiful. I especially want to mention a young housekeeping girl from Vietnam—she was incredibly polite and hardworking. Her attitude really stood out in a good way. However, there were a couple of things that affected the experience. One was a woman with curly hair who sells tours inside the hotel. She was only friendly if you bought a tour; otherwise, her attitude was quite cold and dismissive. Also, on one of the nights, the hotel café was open to guests from 12:00 to 1:00 AM. Some guests gathered there, played music loudly from their phones, sang, and spoke very loudly. It was extremely noisy and disruptive—definitely not what you’d expect in a hotel at midnight. Overall, the stay was nice, but there are areas that could be improved.

When going to this hotel I was questioning my decision booking it as the recent reviews are very mixed and I wasn’t sure what to expect however it did not disappoint. To start off with the positives of the stay, the room was very clean and spacious we had a nice little balcony good room service and trusting cleaners/staff.The breakfast was decent with a wide mix of selection and a bit for everyone it wasn’t the best quality food but it was nice enough. The facilities were good a nice chill pool outside to cool down when sunbathing and the bay right next to the hotel which you could swim in which was nice and refreshing and nice for people who prefer to swim on holiday. The “fitness room” wasn’t great but good enough to get a good enough workout in for on holiday. Now the negatives of the stay most of the staff that work in the bar and the poolside were quite rude as they had no manners and were a bit dull and miserable. And forced all the umbrellas closed by the poolside which was annoying because we couldn’t sit in the shade, as there reason was the “wind was to high” which they just forced us to move in the shade instead of swapping us one of the more sturdy umbrellas which was rude. Overall this wasn’t a bad stay and I would probably recommend as the location is great and very “picturesque” and plenty of stuff to do nearby.

I stayed here Aug 20-22, 2025. I am an Expedia Platinum member, showed the front desk staff. Got put in the worst room they had, on the first floor, right above the lobby and taxi drop off, super loud. I requested about 5 times to speak to the manager to change rooms, the manager was "too busy" each time I was told by the front staff. The elevators are under massive repair/upgrade, something not mentioned on their website or Expedia. It took on average 5-10 min for the elevator to come down, and lots of people for each elevator, total mess. The room was terrible, broken wooden closet, cheap sheets that didn't even cover the mattress (pics), AC was non existent. The only thing that was good with this hotel was the location, pool, and good breakfast buffet. Note to the manager on duty during these days, if you are too afraid to speak to your paying customers, you probably should be demoted back to the mailroom. Absolutely pathetic customer service due to the so called "manager" on duty. I hope he/she gets fired and I may come back to stay another time.

We had to wait quite a long time for our room, which was a bit inconvenient, but the beautiful view and the friendly staff more than made up for it. The hotel offers a wonderful atmosphere, and everyone was very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, a great experience that I would definitely recommend to others visiting Malta.

If you are considering booking this hotel, I strongly recommend that you don't. They cancelled my fully paid reservation the very next day, even though I had informed them that I would arrive one day later. Despite this, they charged me the full amount, cancelled my room without my consent, and then blamed me for their decision. This is completely unprofessional and dishonest.

The Alexandra Hotel Malta is a charming accommodation located in the vibrant Paceville district of St Julian's. Situated just 550 meters from the renowned Dragonara Casino and within close proximity to various attractions such as St George's Bay Swimming Beach, Bay Street Shopping Centre, and Spinola Bay, this hotel offers convenience and comfort. Guests can enjoy picturesque views of the sea or city from their private balconies in each unit.
I stayed at this hotel and had a pleasant experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful, always ready to assist. The terrace was average, but the room was decent, although the furniture is a bit older, especially the wardrobe. The bathroom was clean, and the staff made sure to provide fresh linens and towels every day. The hotel has a nice rooftop pool and a lovely indoor pool, perfect for relaxation. The location is great, close to key attractions, making it easy to explore the area. Overall, I would give this hotel an 8 out of 10.

We stayed here for 2 nights but wouldn’t want to stay for anymore. Rooms are average, bathroom was dirty and we had to ask multiple times for simple things such as pillow cases to be put on our beds! The pool is very small, it looks far bigger on the picture and full of drunk men, the hotel also blares music so loud that you can’t think, so I would avoid this hotel if you aren’t here to party. The indoor pool is nicer however the jacuzzi didn’t work and we asked staff 5 times to put it on, after 40 minutes of waiting a man came down and switched it on and shouted at us saying ‘I told them it was working’ and stormed off! However the breakfast was good here and it’s a great location.

What can I say. Buyer beware. The pictures were beautiful. Hotel had rooftop pool that was pretty cool. It’s centrally located again a plus. Olga at the front desk, fabulous and very very friendly and helpful. Manager Aldo again vey helpful and friendly. Room came with breakfast and the food choices were decent except for the coffee. That’s about all the positive feedback I have for this hotel. It’s was dirty, rundown. It was full of twenty something’s so the floors were noisy all of the time. The rooms were dirty and smelly. Some room like mine had a decent sized bathroom but I had no water pressure at all. It came trickling in. The shower head was so clogged with sediment that I had to clean it myself to get enough water coming out to bathe. There was no countertop on the bathroom so you had nowhere to put your toiletries. Pedestal sinks are so dated. The mirror was the most interesting thing in the bathroom. We had a total of four rooms and each one had an issue. I know this was supposed to be three stars but it really was more like a one star hotel especially for the price. Very disappointed. It’s a good thing that we sponsored than 90% of our stay outside exploring the country. I will never go back to this hotel. It was awful. Nice staff but lousy hotel.

⭐ 1/5 – Never Again. Avoid This Hotel. Our stay at Alexandra Hotel in St. Julian’s, Malta was honestly one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had. From the moment we arrived, the rooms were dirty, and the towels had what looked like actual faeces stains on them — beyond disgusting. We had to change rooms three times just to get one that was barely acceptable. The rooftop pool was a nightmare — not relaxing at all. There were kids running wild, no supervision, and the music was blasting so loudly it was impossible to unwind or enjoy the area. It felt more like a day club than a hotel pool. The staff were rude, unhelpful, and completely uninterested in solving any of the issues we raised. No apologies, no solutions, just attitude. Do yourself a favour and don’t stay in St. Julian’s — it’s overcrowded, noisy, and chaotic. If you want a proper Maltese experience, stay in Valletta where it’s cleaner, calmer, and far more authentic. Avoid this place at all costs.

We were here for two weeks for honeymoon. Would never visit again. It wasn't clean, they have a pool but it is crowded and dirty. It is too noisy outside and inside the hotel. The staff wasn't responsive, only the cleaners were helpful and the waiters. The breakfast was the light of our stay and the central location. Fun facts: you get pool towels which you return when you go home - so for two weeks we would be using the same ones and also no change of sheets in two weeks.
Iva S — Google review
Absolutely not recommended. We arrived and our reservation was not even recorded. The staff, very rude and completely unreliable, told us we had arrived too late, even though the check-in times were correct and they themselves had confirmed the booking. Four of us had to sleep in a room with a one-and-a-half bed, plus a mattress added on the floor. The rooms were dirty and the staff extremely rude. The pool was unsupervised, with very loud music and dirty, grey water. The indoor “heated” pool was only in name and was not warm at all.

If you like your “fresh towels” from house keeping to have another guest poo on them, then this is the place for you! Do not stay here! The photos on booking.com are deceiving, the place looks totally different in real life! I have been travelling for 8 weeks around Europe and even stayed in hostels, this place is the worst place I have ever stayed! We moved rooms 3 times as each room was filthy. We showered with flip flops on and the bed linen was covered with previous guests hair. On the second day, we had house keeping come and they gave us a towel with another guest’s poo on it, the towels clearly hadn’t be cleaned. The manager was the furtherest from helpful and didn’t care we were given disgusting towel. He brought a new towel to our room and it was covered in hair. He acted like we were being so difficult but all we wanted was the bare minimum which is clean towels. This place isn’t safe, a heavily intoxicated man purchased a room on the spot when we were checking in and was causing a disturbance already who they ended up calling the police on two hours later. Our safe in our room didn’t work and the back door didn’t lock. At this point, we decided we didn’t feel safe and asked reception for a refund as we wanted to stay anywhere else. They instructed to go through booking.com even though we paid at the property. I lodged the request with booking.com which said the decision was up to the property. We attempted to go up to the pool, which looked beautiful on booking.com, when we got up there it was full of 18 year olds blasting music, which we could hear from our room. Thinking about the buffet breakfast makes me feel ill, the bacon was furry. Don’t make the same mistake we did and stay in Valletta instead or anywhere else than here! They must have paid people for the good reviews because I don’t understand how anyone could be comfortable staying at Alexandra Hotel.
Bronte B — Google review
We stayed there for one week, our experience was horrible. Room that we stayed in was dirty, even after cleaning, towels always had stains. The roof pool was okay but music was loud. And breakfast was the same every day, not very good. Would not recommend to stay at this hotel

St Julian's Bay Hotel is a simple yet modern hotel offering relaxed rooms and suites with free Wi-Fi and stunning bay views. Situated just 500 meters from the town center, the hotel provides air-conditioned rooms with private bathrooms, some featuring picturesque views of Balluta Bay. While the sea-facing rooms offer an awesome view, they may come at a higher price compared to non-sea facing ones. The hotel has limited open spaces but features a nice sitting area near reception.
The breakfast at this hotel near the sea was absolutely wonderful. The infrastructure is Nice, clean, and very welcoming. The food selection is varied and delicious, with options for every taste. The staff is attentive and friendly, always making sure you feel comfortable. I especially want to mention Paula at the reception — her customer service is outstanding. She is professional, kind, and always ready to help with a smile. Highly recommended!"

This is a catfish hotel!! The photos look nothing like the rooms. Our room did NOT have working air conditioning, the bathroom was so tiny we have to step over the toilet to get into the shower, the rooms have the worst lighting, the shower water temperature was either very hot or cold, they only give you one key for the room, the people that work here are nice but not very helpful, there was rubbish left over from previous guests. My friend stayed in another room which had cockroaches!! I will never stay at the hotel again! The owners really need to put some care, love, money into this hotel.

Thought I was getting a great deal with this hotel but honestly, there were so many issues I wish I paid more to stay elsewhere. The staff are really nice and do the best they can with the conditions. That being said, the conditions are awful and we had issues from the moment we arrived. I do not recommend staying here if you care about the quality of your stay. If you are only focused on saving money, be prepared to deal with many issues. I would give this place 1 star for the quality and 2 stars for the staff and location. First, and most importantly, it’s dirty. The bathroom had tremendous issues. The fan attached to light produces a DISGUSTING smell, like raw sewage that seeps into the room and lingers for a long time even if you have the light on for only 2 minutes. The light and fan are connected, so there is no way to turn off the fan and stop the smell. You have to sit sideways on the toilet because there is only 1 foot of space between the toilet and sink. The bathroom door was extremely difficult to open, I needed to use my entire body weight to push it open. The shower was also leaking and flooding the bathroom after 2 minutes. When I went downstairs to ask for more towels, they told me they only had 5-10 extra towels for the entire hotel and couldn’t give me all of them. Later, I heard another guest complaining that housekeeping took all of their body towels and only left 2 floor towels. I heard a different guest complaining about yellow stains on the “fresh” towels they got and asking if their sheets were changed because they also had stains and were disgusted. There were stains on the side of our bed and the duvet has no covering, just two sheets below and above it, which gives the impression they don’t wash the duvet. Second, accommodations are scarce and I think they have barely enough supplies for all the rooms. They said they would bring blankets and pillows for the futon while we were out and when we returned at 2 AM there were no blankets or pillows. When I went downstairs to ask, the only staff in the hotel at the time had no idea where the spare blankets were and it ended up taking 30+ minutes to get the blanket. Sadly suggested we wait until the morning when housekeeping returned, and I told them that was ridiculous and refused to leave the front desk until they went to look for a blanket. Ended up getting one and it was the only spare blanket on the floor! Third, I paid extra for the balcony room not realizing the rooms are entirely not sound proofed. Some noise is normal but you can hear every small conversation on the street below (a very busy street) and everything in the hallways and surrounding rooms too. It was a nice view but probably not worth it for me personally. The location is great, right near a super market, bus stop, and beach. However, the issues we had really disappointed me. The smell in the bathroom was really atrocious. Would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone I care about.

So the hotel isn't the sort of hotel that will keep you coming back. It's basic but the aircon works in the room. Every time you leave the hotel you have to give them your key and collect on return. Can be annoying if reception is busy. But location is beautiful and St Julians is a lovely place.

I usually dont write reviews, but I must admit one of the worst experiences of my whole life with st Julians Bay Hotel. from the first day, we requested an iron plus ironing board. the Iron had issues and there was never an ironing board, they told us they will order a new one and get us one. everyday we were asking for updates and they acted like it was the first time they hear such a request. (mind you, it was urgent request) after afew days, I had no choice but to Iron my clothes on the bed sheets. The Bed sheets plus towels had red and brown stains. The bathroom was so small that mid washing, I had to keep half of my body out of the shower place so I can move around and pick up a soap. the doors and all the appliances were so old, they got stuck sometimes and you had treat them with a trick sometimes to close and open them. The place has over 60 rooms and one small elevator for 4 people max, and the waiting for the elevator was at least 5 mins to 10 mins. (7floors) The breakfast was an area where there was no wifi/signal plus extreme humidity and heat to the point you lose appetite. The whole building was like a bunker for war, the moment you enter it, no signal, and the wifi works only 50% of the times. My colleague’s room had a broken AC that was no resolved for 2 weeks and she had cockroaches in her room as well. we were staying as a business trip and we needed to rest well. the walls were extremely thin and there were groups of people at 2 to 4 in the morning yelling and screaming all night and we got used to sleep in a jungle like environment. there was loud construction in the Saturday morning right next to my room in the hotel. Some night people were smoking weed in the hotel and the very strong smell would give me headaches it was throughout the whole corridor plus in my room. It was all escalated to the reception each time, but nothing changed. At the beginning we were escalating to the reception but they would disrespectfully (with smirk) repeat the same script over and over everyday to the point that we gave up and after a few days started to adopt to the situation. even when we requested to change the rooms, no resolution. The rooms dont have enough light and at nights sometimes I had to use my phones flash light to see clearly in case i looked for something. The cleaning staff sometimes did not clean when I left the sign”clean my room” and sometimes they cleaned when I didn’t want them to clean. The Hotel is in a good location but in general one of the worst experiences of my whole life. I absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND this place and if you ever hear this name, JUST RUN AWAY.
Alireza Z — Google review
I had a room for the first night, all was good but I needed a room for the second night as well. When I woke up on the second day and went to the toilet there was this huge cockroach in the bathroom and when I asked at the reception what should we do in this case they gave me a bug spray and said: "We don't have anything regarding cockroaches in our policies". Does that make any sense?
Razvan B — Google review
Location great, everything else awful. Cant comment on breakfast however I had cockroaches in my room so not sure id trust eating their food. Wifi in my room didnt work, balcony couldnt even fit a chair on it. Bathrooms cramped and the showers tiny- very easy to accidentally knock the tap and burn yourself (fire alarm went off one day due to steam from a shower thats how hot it can get). It also just felt very dirty and did not give off a good vibe. Our friends had items taken from their room, then magically once the police got involved they appeared claiming they were left behind, however this was not the case and one of the items (apple) pinged a location away from the hotel so someone had taken it then brought it back when the police got involved. Id spend the money and stay elsewhere.
Jess A — Google review
Location is the only good thing about this hotel. Let's discuss the following: - You'll find stains on the mattress or white spots on the wall/headend side of the bed. The beds/sheets/pillow smell like the sweat of the previous guests. - Airco does not cool the room, will circulate the hot air back into your room. - Lift may or may not come to pick you up, depends on how patient you are. - You need to sit on the toilet in an angle. - The breakfast room is a really sad place.

Hotel Allegro is a small and quiet hotel located in a convenient area, close to restaurants, bus stops, supermarkets, nightclubs, beaches, and casinos. The staff are highly praised for their excellent service and friendliness. Guests appreciate the helpfulness of the staff in organizing taxis and ensuring a comfortable stay. While not luxurious, the hotel offers comfort with a nice rooftop pool and basic but pleasant breakfast options. Overall, it provides good value for the price paid and is worth considering for a stay.
Our stay recently in the Allegro Hotel was different to our previous stays in Malta. This hotel is a small family run establishment, while it is classified as 3 star, the service and our interactions with the staff were 5 star. Any request or query we made was attended to immediately with a smile and willingness, something we had not experienced in larger 4 and 5 star hostelries. I would recommend the Allegro to anyone who appreciates kindness and pleasantries but can over look the lack of some 4 and 5 star trimmings eg no bar.

Stayed at allegro hotel from the 10th June to the 20th. Had the best experience in malta. The staff are very friendly and helpful had clean towels everyday even got more towels when needed which was great especially when going to the beach. And staying out in the heat. The breakfast was great something light which is what you need. Can't believe this is only a 3 star it should be atleast a 4

I stayed at this hotel in March 2023. Overall, it’s a solid place. The rooms are a bit older and the furniture didn’t leave the best impression, but everything was clean and functional. A big plus is that the hotel has a gym, which I really appreciated. The food was okay – breakfast wasn’t bad, but nothing special. The staff was excellent – very friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. All in all, a decent experience.

Not that bad of a hotel but I have some stuff to say. 1st of all the lights above the beds were poorly attached into the wall and one fell on my head while I was sleeping. Same with my roomate. 2. We found some sort of cockroach in our room. We immediatly complained at the front desk. They sprayed our room with some chemicalia but the roaches came back. Gotta give them credit, they tried to help. 3. The rooms had a bad smell that never left the room even with the window opened 24/7. 4. The shower was leaking underneath the glass and the shower was missing a door 5. Our TV didn't come with a remote for a week Now the things that were actually quite good. 1.The breakfast was quite nice, quite a wide selection of food, bread, decent coffee, all the main kinds like espresso, cafe lungo, cappucino and even tea. Their breakfast was server during reasonable hours which was nice. 2.The rooftop was great. Lots of places to sit on. The pool was quite small but I get it, there wasn't a lot of space to begin with so that makes sense. I'd rate the rooftop like 7/10 3. The Wi-Fi was decent. Not blazing fast but good enough 4. Some of them outlets in our room were universal so I did not need to use my adapter and they even had USB ports. Not all of them though

We are very dissatisfied with our stay at your hotel. First of all, in the first room you gave us, the air conditioning did not work, nor did the shower hose. We got stuck in the elevator for a very long time — the technician should have been there from the very first moment to get us out of the elevator. This never happened! We ourselves had to call the police, even though the hotel should have done that immediately. There were 7 of us inside the elevator, and the limit was up to 8 people, so it was not our fault! One of the girls had a panic attack and was not well at all! We stayed at the hotel for 4 days and you did not change our sheets even once. You changed our room because the air conditioning in the first room did not work! We are extremely dissatisfied!

As students of EF, we know the rules and signs for it being 18 years of age do not give you the right to be rude and aggressive to someone whom render their service to ensure your comfortness. You were rude, disrespectful, and insultive to the receptionist. We all saw it and heard it, You have a roommate which both of you are responsible for the key to your room telling the receptionist to open the door for you while your room mate is inside and the door is open is worthless, your hidden agenda is to distract her by letting an underage girl coming from the club to pass freely at 3/5am which is against the regulation of the school, Is a hotel not your father house where you can bring in outsiders to and fro. Respect those who serve you delightfully. You paid to stay doesn't give you the orderness to insult a staff despite all your dramas she remains Calm and polite to you. You were so lucky my roommates held me back .. You wanted to play a dirty game on her as a professional she out smart you, and now you want to be the white victim. I personally and the rest of the students respect her calmness and empathy and appreciate her extraordinary service.. taking care of the sick students, buying tea and water with her owe money, and giving us pads and tampons at late night, ensuring everyone is okay. Don't be a .. to think she is sleeping, She monitors the surroundings and ins and outs of all her guest to ensure their safety through the camera's. Out of all the receptionists, she is the only best and most professional with excellent service. To the lovely night receptionist, thank you for your services and the time you gave to make us stay comfortable.

I spent a week here over Easter. The hotel was just round the corner from where Google maps said it was, but that seems to be fixed now. In short, it was good value for what I paid and would have been worth paying more for. Good: - Excellent staff. Everyone was very friendly, but not in a pushy way. If I needed something I got it (taxi was organised in 30 seconds), but when I just wanted to get to my room, there was a friendly hello and nothing slowing me down. - The breakfast is plentiful and good. Nothing special, but it filled me up nicely and didn't get boring. - Everything was clean and safe. - The location is very close to a main bus stop. I'll list a few negatives, but given what the staff were like, I'm certain these are already fixed or will be within 10 minutes of them reading this: - One of the doors leading to the pool was locked. - Pool times were listed differently on different notices. - I couldn't figure out how to use the safe in my room. Not that I needed it as the hotel was safe. - Youtube was slow on the TV, but again, why go to Malta to watch Youtube in a hotel room. Neutral things that may be important to someone: - The pool is unheated. It doesn't matter as Malta is warm. - There are several grocery stores close to the hotel. - Beds are shorter than 200cm All in all, great value if you need a safe and clean hotel with decent breakfast. No frills, but no problems.
Juhani H — Google review
The breakfast is cold continental, meaning the only warm thing except tea/coffee was boiled eggs or toast and that was the only minus of the breakfast. Otherwise all was good, very delicious traditional Malteasan bread, lots of fresh veg and fruits. The swimming pool at the roof is small, but quite nice, there are lots of sunbeds but it gets busy after 16:00. Rooms have very strong air conditioning; mine was small but clean. Only bathroom was a bit difficult to use - to use the toilet I had to close the door and it was a bit difficult to do that while standing inside the bathroom. I ended up getting inside the shower to close the door. The staff is very friendly and helpful, earler check-in is possible if rooms are prepared. Generally, I would recommend for all travellers that look for a reasonably priced place to stay, in the center of Julian's.

An incredible experience at Hostel On From the moment I arrived, I felt at home. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff are super friendly and always ready to help with a smile. The facilities are clean, well-maintained, and stylish. I loved the vibe of the place—relaxed, yet full of positive energy. Perfect for meeting people, sharing stories, and getting some quality rest. Definitely a place to come back to!

Don’t stay here! Very bad management!! I tried to contact the hostel weeks in advance to modify my booking and to advise them of my late arrival. I didn’t receive a reply on emails, messages or phone calls. Eventually I got a hold of the hostel a day before arrival, which didn’t allow me to change the booking anymore. They advised me that it’s not a problem to arrive late at night. I arrived at 1AM in the morning and the door was locked. After a few minutes luckily someone opened the door. Apparently I had to receive a code to enter the hostel. Then they couldn’t find my key. I reserved a 6 bed dorm, but ended up staying in a 10 bed dorm. They advertised that the rooms have AC, but the AC was not turned on. The windows were kept open, so you got woken up early by traffic noise and people smoking cigarettes in front of the window. I ended up leaving the hostel 3 days earlier (which was my original plan, but since they don’t respond to emails or phone calls, my booking was never modified). I was promised a refund but the staff was not allowed to refund in cash. Eventually I’ve been in contact with the manager a couple of times and she used the excuse that she never received my payment, which was untrue. After a few weeks, I contacted the manager again and she literally hung up on me. This is the worst costumer service I’ve ever experienced.

Very disappointing stay – serious hygiene and security concerns I strongly advise future travelers to think twice before booking here. During my stay in Room 4, Bed 36, the guest next to me had an extremely unpleasant odor, possibly due to foot fungus, which made it very difficult to sleep. The strong smell was overwhelming and concerning, especially considering shared showers. On top of that, his alarm went off early and rang until it woke the entire room, adding to an already sleepless night after a long journey. In the morning, I witnessed another guest clipping his nails at the dining table – a very unhygienic behavior, especially in a shared eating area. I raised this with him and a staff member noticed as well, but no action was taken. The downstairs bathroom had a strong sewage smell, which made it uncomfortable to use. Additionally, security is a major concern here. Room doors and the front entrance are often left open, and there is no 24-hour staff present, meaning anyone could potentially walk in unnoticed. Overall, I had a very unpleasant experience and would not recommend this hostel to others, especially those looking for cleanliness, quiet, and safety

We reserved this hostel with a group of 25 people. The confirmation of the booking came through, yet when we arrived the hostel was completely unaware of our booking. They instead offered us a location on a completely different location on the island. This was not an option in our planning, and it should not even have been their offer. Eventually we found a new hotel on our own, but Hostel On did not pay any compensation for the increased costs that we had to take because of this. Completely unreliable to make any bookings here. Consider booking another hostel instead.
Joep B — Google review
We booked this hostel a few months in advance. We got a few confirmation emails to confirm this booking and called them several times. When we came to the hostel to check in, they told us that they didn’t know we booked the hostel. We couldn’t stay there and had to find a different accommodation on the day of arrival. Nice start of the vacation! The hostel staff was very nice and handled this situation with care. The owners, however, didn’t answer their phone and didn’t do anything to solve the problem that they caused. According to some locals, this has happened multiple times before.

Avoid this hostel if possible. On my first night after checking in, I was asleep when a staff member suddenly entered with two new guests and told me that the bed I was in was actually reserved for them. It turned out the hostel had overbooked and completely overlooked my reservation. Despite the mistake being theirs, they insisted I leave and find another place to stay — at midnight — because the hostel was full. All they did was issue a refund. No assistance, no alternatives offered. After reading other reviews, it’s clear I’m not the only one who’s experienced this issue, which suggests serious problems with the management and booking system. To be fair, the staff were polite and tried to help, but in this situation, they were powerless to do anything.
Chui — Google review
The owner is extremely unempathetic and threatening to kick one out when you criticize things. Also, everything is full of mold and dirty and the "lockers" are wooden drawers, that can't be locked. Wouldn't recommend at all! Stress of my life.

Book here if you love arriving at your destination and randomly have your reservation (already paid!) of dozens of people cancelled because "it got lost"

Egali Hostel Malta is conveniently located near Portomaso Marina and Saint Patrick's Church, making it a great choice for travelers. The hostel is close to supermarkets, nightclubs, bus stops, and a shopping mall. It's popular among Brazilian students attending the nearby English school. While the staff is friendly, some guests found them less supportive. Visitors should be prepared to hear Portuguese spoken frequently due to the large number of Brazilian guests.
I stayed there for 2 weeks, I wanted to stay more, but in the summertime, since it was a really popular place, all the beds were occupied. And I have to say that this is the best hostel in Malta (I stayed in 3 another). + Air condition which you use wherever you want + Tasty Breakfast include: toasts with peanut butter, jams, Nutella/ cereal (at least two kinds)/ milk + spacious bed with curtain (as a small separate room) +friendly atmosphere + located in a busy place + there is swim pool + no bags + clean toilet Wishes: water cooler For two weeks I did not find any lack!!! Recommend this place :)
Alyona Z — Google review
More bugs than I expected for the price. The advertised pool is disgusting. The only pros are that the bathrooms are good, the rooms do have AC, and the curtains on each bed are welcome. The hostel looks nothing like its online photos, and there are other much much nicer hostels in paceville for the same price (or even cheaper). It's also right in the middle of everything, somewhere even a two minute walk away would give you a lot more peace at night.
Iona M — Google review
The staff is friendly but not much supportive. The hostel is based near to supermarkets, night clubs, bus stops and a shopping mall (which is located the ACE English Malta, the English School for Brazilian Egali students). You may expect loads of Brazilians, so you may hear Portuguese all the time there. Don’t forget to bring you own blanket, the one they lend you is very tiny and light, and if you’re going on winter may be not enough. I’ve been there for a couple weeks and things that disappointed me was that they don’t clean the rooms daily, the kitchen on the rooftop didn’t have the stove working and the dishes were ALL plastic made.

My first experience in am Hostel and i can't be more happy. Egali hostel is a place where you feel welcomed, surrounded by amazing people that work hard to mae everything perfect and let you feel like at home. I strongly recommend this place, good energies, good souls there.

We went to Egali Hostel MALTA. I want to emphasize that, because I have never, ever seen such filth! There was mold everywhere to such a degree that even underneath my materace there was a huge patch of it! I've checked neighbouring vacant beds and they also had mold underneath. There is absolutely no ventilation in the rooms and bathrooms. The place is located opposite 3 restaurants which are very noisy therefore in some rooms you are unable to sleep without earplugs. Staff is very unhelpful. We had to wait over 14 hours for the toilet paper to be replenished in our bathroom (we asked 3 times!). In the end we bought our own toilet paper. I must say I have never been more dissapointed and I will never visit this place again. What else I didn't like" - incredibly smelly bathroom (mold and few days old wet rug in front of the shower cabin) - breakfast is only sweets (nutella, jam, peanut butter), bread and milk with cereal - broken windows (we were unable to lock them) - VERY RUDE roommates (one guy started to pack at 4 o'clock in the morning and woke up everybody. Some girls didn't give a damn about others sleeping and were very loud when returning at night after partying)

This place proved a saviour to me. By mistake, I booked the hostel on the wrong date. When I reached hostel, the manager informed me that I booked the hostel for the last month and they had no vacent beds either. I panicked as I had no place to go. However, manager somehow arranged a bed for me for a night at a affordable price. Thanks Egali hostel for hosting me. I would like to stay there again.

PV Hostel is a vibrant adults-only haven that perfectly caters to solo travelers and party enthusiasts alike. With its bright dorms and private rooms, guests can enjoy a comfortable stay just steps away from the lively nightlife of Paceville. The hostel boasts a fantastic rooftop terrace ideal for summer evenings spent mingling with fellow travelers or unwinding in the cozy lounge during cooler months. A shared kitchen allows for easy meal prep, while nearby bus stops make exploring the area convenient.
You can meet very nice people over here. It's really cheap and the best place to stay when you're a single traveler. When you like to go to paceville than this is the best hostel for you. It's only 10 seconds away from the main Street with all the clubs. The is no time that you have to be back at the hostel. You also get a big locker to use for free for your luggage. I will definitely come back here!

The accommodation was not as described and shown in the pictures. There wasn't hot water for shower, the beds for too used and made a lot of noise. They never changed the towels but they tried their best to keep the room clean. It was masked as a full accommodated room but as we spent more time there we realised that it's not as good as it was made to look. Probably okay for the money but still. The water issue was a huge one for us.

If possible I would give 0 stars. The hostel was a complete rip off. The furniture and rooms in general were quite old/ worn down. The sockets often were not working nor was the lamp next to my bed. "Lockers" did not have the possibility to attach a padlock to it. The bed and bedsheets were clean though. The air conditioning was working but a remote was not found in the room but had to be asked for from the staff. The kitchen was the worst with a lot of things not working and/ or in a very bad state. Furthermore surfaces were super sticky and a kitchen towel or sponge could not be found anywhere. Bathrooms were in a bad condition as well with even a shower curtain missing in one of the bathrooms. One sink was clocked and was not repaired during my stay. I saw the bathrooms cleaned only once per day and not every 2h as it says it in their description. In general the whole hostel was very dirty. The staff was very young and unprofessional/ incompetent as they are mostly young students from abroad. They couldn't even tell me where the closest supermarket is. The location of the hostel is very central in one of the central "party streets". Hence it is very loud and music/ noise from the street or partying guest coming to sleep does not stop until 5 AM.

Pluses: Good location, nice terrace at the roof, a lot of shops and restaurants in the neighbourhood, good price. Minuses: Very noisy, especially on weekends, very tiny rooms. Cleaning service should be improved... Bathroom was clean but kitchen dirty.

The hostel is in a very good location near the party zone and you have three buses stop near It is clean and comfortable, you have a kitchen a tv room and a very nice rooftop where you can relax and sunbathing.I had been in this hostel for 7 weeks and my experience was amazing, the staff is very very good helpfully and friendly. I recommend this hostel for sure. Thanks you so much to the manager Aldo and all the staff of PV hostel! I'll go back!

It's very noisy from the nearby disco and bars and people who are druk, the administration keeps quite rooms for young girls only. 2 nights can't sleep,, if you came from scuba diving trip avoid this hostel, if you came for music then it is the great for you

It's all about sharing with people and respect towards roommate which they don't have and even it's written "Keep silence" in big letters in the stairs many people don't care. I have the worst experience as it's very noisy area. If you wanna sleep or rest from your jetlag don't go there. 15 euro is too much for this place.

Absolutely disgusted with this place... when I arrived I was told there was no booking, it took 20 minutes for them to find it.... when they found it I was told they had no female dorms (I'd booked a female dorm 3 months earlier ) they told me I had to go in a mixed dorm. I asked are there any females in there... they said yes. I asked about the price (they told me it's the same price... it ISN'T!) I paid for the female dorm but was put in the mixed! Got in the mixed and saw only men were in there (it was just a room with three bunkbeds) I spoke to a guy and said I felt uncomfortable. He checked and said oh there's a female dorm available in a few hours!!! Got in the female dorm... there was an en suite, balcony, one bunk bed and two regular beds (obviously a much better room yet I was told the mixed was the same price!)... anyway, me and another girl noticed ants crawling on every bed... loads would crawl on my skin, bed, clothes, the wall... one night I came back to the hostel and the receptionist chased me upstairs, said to me nastily 'you have to leave now!!!' Leave now!'... I was in shock... asked why... she said I should have left this morning, she said come to reception now... speaking to me as if I had committed a crime! I said 'I leave tomorrow, I paid for tonight, I booked it months ago'... she said "no no you need to leave... I have other people booked for that room!!!" I said I'll show you, as I was trying to load my emails she just kept repeating that I have to go, looking at me like dirt and making it clear she thought I was lying! I was trying to find the email and said 'I've nowhere to go... this isn't fair on me, I booked tonight months ago!"... she just kept shaking her head and gave me dirty looks saying no I didn't! I found the email booking and showed her... she still looked blank and looked at me like dirt, said oh the computer said you had to leave, well stay tonight and leave in the morning (which I was doing anyway!!) Absolutely disgusted, no sorry, no smiles etc... I'd had a great day and she ruined it... I was treated like a criminal for simply booking a room!!!

Absolutely fantastic hostel! I fell in love with Malta just because of this place. And to be honest I felt in love with Mark as unbelievable kind and warm-hearted and respectful person! Unfortunately I’m a man, so I cannot marriage with him😁 If think God is love, it means you never meet before Mark, because he is heaven sentured God’s angel on this planet. Absolutely safety, comfortable, 1000% clean hostel with a perfect rooms, beds, full equipped kitchen and bathrooms and such a cool terrace in the roof, that you even can not imagine it! Mark explained everything about Malta and the best and cheapest places around the hostel, gave so good recommendations for the poor guy like me where/when/how I can enjoy my few days off on this beautiful island. You never ever find even the 5* hotel better than Walter’s B&B hostel. The rating must be changed by the name of this lovely hostel because 5* aren’t enough to describe the best service of whole my 30 years of life! As a Michelin star restaurant cook I can say that in the restaurants rating this hostel 10* Michelin from the 3* possible. Really strong recommendation for you all my dear travelers!

Stayed in an individual room which was very spacious, though the noise insulation could be a little better (I was woken by clanging outside early both mornings). However, the member of staff that greeted me at check-in was superb - extremely polite and friendly and gave me more recommendations, local food/drink options and transport advice than I could ask for!

Staying at this hostel was an excellent choice. It is located quite central with a lot of good restaurants and cafés in walking distance and the Sliema ferry terminal close by. Bus stops are also within walking distance. Nonetheless it is very peaceful and quiet in this hostel. It is an old building in the typical maltese style that was renovated recently and hence is very beautiful outside and inside. The staff is super friendly and can advise you about a lot of things that you can do or where to eat in Malta. The service that is provided is also excellent. I could even check in before the regular check-in time and was provided a personal transfer to the airport for the regular taxi price. The hostel was very clean in general and rooms and bathrooms were cleaned daily. The roof terrace invites you to relax and enjoy the breeze coming from the sea. Altogether a more than pleasant stay! Absolutely recommend!

I absolutely loved my stay here! 😍The hostel is in one of the best cities in Malta – super close to the top language schools, and just a short bus ride (or even walk) from the most popular beaches like St. Julian’s, Sliema, and Paceville. There’s a supermarket right on the corner and plenty of shops, pharmacies, and bus stops all around, so everything you need is right there. The vibe in the hostel is amazing – super chill, very clean and well-organized, and full of friendly people from all over the world. There are four balconies and two rooftops where you can hang out, enjoy the view, and meet new people. I made great memories here and totally recommend it if you’re coming to Malta!

The Parish Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is a stunning place to visit, especially during its feast week. The architecture resembles that of a cathedral and is particularly enchanting in May. Visitors can also attend the Holy Mass on Sundays at 18:00, adding to the spiritual experience of this remarkable church.
Beautiful walk in the morning hearing the bells. Went to listen to the service. Incredible inside,

A church that is not as visible as a parish church normally is. It's worth a visit.
Mark V — Google review
For those who complained about the bells. It is not true that the bells ring evry hour in the morning. There are only three times were a bell peals . 6.45am to call people for mass, 8am for the Angelus and is os only 9 stacks. And 8.15am, to call people for mass. When calling for mass there are 33 stracks. With only one bell in all three occasions. It is only on Solemn feasts that there will be a peal of bell ringing. Just as well you don't live in a traditional village or town in Malta, where they still have kept tradition in bell ringing. Many times here we struggle to find people to ring the bells on special occasions. This is part of our Maltese tradition which is 100's of years old. It is good to check matters before we write. If I hate bells, i don't go to live close by a church.

I had a wonderful stay at Windmill Hostel. The place is very clean, tidy, and peaceful, yet only a short walk from a lively part of town. What impressed me the most were the owners, a lovely couple who are incredibly kind and helpful. They gave me detailed recommendations about nearby supermarkets and restaurants, which made my solo trip so much easier. I was truly touched by their warmth and hospitality, and I feel so happy to be among their very first guests. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Malta!
