Le Presidial à Sarlat offers upscale 1- and 2-bedroom apartments with full kitchens and fireplaces, perfect for a romantic getaway. The restaurant provides a distinguished setting in the quiet old town of Sarlat, offering delicious cuisine and attentive service. With beautiful garden terraces and a formal indoor dining room, the restaurant serves classic Perigord dishes and an interesting selection of Bergerac wines.
What a surprise! This restaurant is absolutely stunning. The outdoor seating is beautiful, and the food is amazing. We went for lunch today, and the three-course menu was outstanding. The foie gras was top quality, and the croustillant de canard was a brilliant reinterpretation of a traditional dish. The tarte aux noix was excellent. I highly recommend this place. Great service too!
Eric L — Google review
Setting beautiful on a garden terrace. Food was however a bit disappointing… starters and foie gras excellent, duck breast with coffee and cardamom was not that special, also the potato mousse with the poultry was average, the poultry was good though. The service was soso as the staff had too many tables per person, so had to wait to catch his attention.
Patisher — Google review
Le Presidial enjoys a beautiful location that makes dining there pleasant. There's something appealing about the setting that creates a nice atmosphere for an evening out. The fact that the place was completely booked when I visited shows it's clearly popular with diners. The food was okay - eatable but with some issues that kept it from being better. The vegetables were noticeably too salty, which detracted from the meal. The meat had good flavor and was well-seasoned, and they got the cooking right (au point), but it was quite chewy - not what you'd expect when paying these prices. It wasn't bad food, just not quite hitting the mark for what they're charging. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout the evening, which I appreciated. They created a warm atmosphere and made us feel comfortable. However, at this price point, I found myself expecting more polished service touches. Having to pour our own wine felt too casual for what the restaurant financially positions itself as. The wine selection was decent enough, so it wasn't about quality but rather the level of service. Overall, it's an okay place with a beautiful setting and nice staff. The food is decent enough and the location does add to the experience. While I wouldn't say it's exceptional value, it's not terrible either - just somewhere in the middle where everything is fine but nothing stands out as special.

Others must have visited on an off day. We came for lunch and had the €33 menu and 2 glasses of wine. Total cost €77. We found the only waitress serving, friendly and she spoke good English too. We had an amuse bouche of polenta and tomatoes. Foie gras and butternut squash soup for the first course. Couldn't fault it. Main course fish with green curry just and duck confit with reduction. Very good. Desserts were raspberry and coconut cake and the best crème brûlée ever. OK the sunny day and setting in the garden may have clouded our judgement. It actually didn't, it only added to the enjoyment of the meal.

Exceptional meal for our last evening in Sarlat. Beautiful surroundings. Great service from Jeremy.
Seema J — Google review
What a wonderful treat this was! We have been in France for the better part of a month and have visited several Boulangeries and Pätisseries, Maison Lissajoux is by far the best eatery of them all. The atmosphere and service are wonderful, and the food is excellent! I had the Avacado toast from the fresh bread made on site by the bread and pastry chefs. The place gives a light, airy atmosphere and a good vibe. I will definitely be back if we return to Sarlat. Merci, John and staff for your wonderful hospitality!
Roleeda S — Google review
Highly recommend. Such a beautiful, calm and quiet setting close enough to the town centre that its super easy to get to. 6 of us ate here and all the food was absolutely delicious and bought out in good time. We had a waiter who spoke English and was so lovely and funny! His great personality was such a positive part of the experience. All food was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing! The quality of all the meat we had was great, the beef just melted in your mouth! It was all presented beautifully and the desserts were really good too. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Sarlat.
Nicola C — Google review
We walked out of another restaurant in Sarlat & decided we wanted a special meal, so this was our choice. We had eaten here 7 years ago & we were hoping it was just as good. We were not disappointed. We sat out on the terrace & had a lovely meal with 3 courses set at 55 euros. The standouts were the duck & the chicken. The cocktail with champagne shot was delicious & the chablis was very smooth. The gourmand dessert with champagne gave you a small taste of 4 desserts. My only criticism is that they could offer a purely vegetarian option on the mains menu. Taking the pork out of the fish dish is not making it vegetarian. We left feeling it had been one of the better meals on our trip.

We live in the Dordogne and just discovered this outstanding restaurant ! The positive energy you feel upon entering is only surpassed by the warm reception and delicious food prepared with local ingredients. The artist Mika has added to the sense of fun. We will be back and recommend to friends !

Superb meal! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves from start to finish. The chef is truly talented — fantastic cuisine, both beautifully presented and full of flavor. Warm welcome and impeccable service.
Sandra — Google review
The food was good but we (and other tables) were battling mosquitoes and flies the entire evening, and the service was pretentious, arrogant and borderline rude. We came with a toddler and the opposite of accommodating. They serve a child menu designated for children under 8 only (!), which contained nothing that and small child I know would eat. They basically forced it on us and refused even the slightest adjustment (such as serving their ice cream separate from the elaborate fruit-based dessert that they decided was the only thing they would offer to children under 8). I’ve been to many fine dining restaurants. A good chef can feed anyone.

Restaurant
Le Petit Bistrot is a charming and highly recommended restaurant located in the heart of the city. It offers healthy and delicious French cuisine in a carefully decorated setting with a cozy balcony, creating a warm atmosphere. The restaurant provides indoor and street seating as well as a shaded terrace, making it an ideal spot for summer dining. Guests praise the attentive service, reasonable prices, and quality of food, including imaginative local dishes and an excellent selection of wines.
No reservations but we were warmly greeted. Nice selection of wine and a varied menu. Service was attentive. Food prep was top notch. Had the trout. Done perfectly with an incredible sauce. We will be back later this week.
Bob B — Google review
Nice sidewalk table but the rest was barely marginal. Server claimed to speak English, then simply couldn’t. Failed to replace silverware between courses and simply pulled it off the plate and put back on table. No bread offered. Steak like rubber, and too cool. Disappointing.
J P — Google review
Great food, service a little bit slow but overall a great experience. Nice place and decent prices for the location.
Thomas L — Google review
Had a lunch up there, friendly and knowledgeable staff with a good food!
Eren D — Google review
The place is lovely, and the service was fine, but the food was mediocre. We ordered a pokie dish. Maybe it was a mistake to order it in a French restaurant, but if they offer it, they should know how to prepare it properly. Cold rice surrounded by cucumbers, tomatoes, feta cheese, and salmon is neither pokie nor tasty. The duck dish was rubbery, but at least the sauce was good. The idea of crème brûlée with truffles is original, but really not tasty. The waitress saw that we took one bite of the dish, but it didn't bother her. At least the kids menu was ok …
Lihi K — Google review
The food was excellent, we all had some form of duck for our main course and the foie gras for starters was really good. Drinks were reasonable as was the cost of the food. A really good afternoon was had by all.
SJ C — Google review
It's a small cozy restaurant with very decent decor. I had the truffle menu and the taste was great!
Chin H — Google review
We dined here twice, once for lunch, once for dinner. The staff are welcoming, and we had a nice table outside away from the crowds of the main town for a more peaceful experience. We both had escargot on both occasions and the scallops, which were delicious and well presented. We noted the scallop dish had an accompliment of either potatoes, mixed vegetables or rice with poppy seeds, all of which don't really match the dish which could benefit from the vegetable element being incorporated into the dish as an ensemble. The wine compliments the seafood well, and they kept us topped up with bread. On the secondoccasiono, we tried the walnut tartlet, which was disappointing as it was comprised of an undercooked dry pastry base with a handful of walnuts thrown in and drizzled with a warm caramel sauce. This was not a tartlett which disappointed us as everything else had been so nice. All togethe, this is still a better offering than many other restaurants in town, and we would return and recommend it.

L'Adresse, a French restaurant situated in the city center, earns high praise from its visitors. With a charming rustic ambiance, this establishment offers a contemporary twist on traditional cuisine with hints of Asian flavors. The creatively presented dishes showcase Mediterranean influences and are served in an elegantly casual setting that includes a terrace. Notable menu items include the duck confit spring rolls and ginger-infused black pork ribs. Guests can also indulge in delightful desserts such as brioche and cheese selections.
The menu is so reduced, the quality of the food is so excellent. Here you can also get other delicious dishes in addition to the typical duck dishes. The Tataki Beef completely convinced us in all dimensions. The service also was perfect.
Tassilo K — Google review
Great restaurant with creative menu. Fantastic atmosphere and wonderful service. Had the snails and the beef. Wife had the fish soup followed by pike perch all beautifully prepared.
Stephen S — Google review
Wonderful meal with great service! I wish we would have eaten all our meals here while in Sarlat.
Steve Q — Google review
Excellent food at a reasonable price. Friendly and efficient service. Duck and lamb dish were very good, as was the chocolate panache.
David M — Google review
Friendly restaurant with a fairly short hand written menu, so a good start. For what appeared to be a quality establishment the prices were pretty reasonable, I had soup, steak and chips, followed by a trio of deserts and a coffee, my partner had, trout, duck and a desert, together with a bottle of very nice local red the bill came to €96. At this price point I think five stars are justified, if the prices were higher I would say 4 stars, the soup, trout and duck were excellent but the quality of the beef let it down.
John J — Google review
We eat mostly vegan or vegetarian, with occasional fish when there are no other options. This is tough in Dordogne, but L’Adresse delivered. Fabulous fillet of cod; funny, theatrical waitress ; kind & lovely owner/bar tender; warm atmosphere ; excellent wine list; reasonable prices. Will return !
Carole G — Google review
Longstanding local favourite. Well executed dishes typical of Perigord, topped with really welcoming service.
David L — Google review
We got a walk-in on the outdoor area, which was very lucky as the place is small & it was filling up. We had the 2 course deal for 26 euro & it was a bargain for the quality. Our entree of a cheese vol-au-vont was very different & tasty. The standout in the mains was the fish - my favourite fish so far, in our month long trip. The rose wine was only 26 euros a bottle. We were so happy we selected this establishment from the many in the Sarlat.

Good food (duck confit was excellent!). Decent service. Nice location near the cathedral.

Nice place in the heart of the old city of Sarlat. Nice terrace. A large choice of drinks and dishes. Very professional and kind staff. Good price. If you choose the menu, the portions are nearly half the size from the one à la carte (explained by the staff) because the menu’s price is trajet competitive for the location

After traveling in the area got to Sarlat and walk around and figures it’s time for late lunch My daughter and myself ordered burger, and while my daughter didn’t like the bun and myself I would have passed the cheese the burger itself was excellent.

Walked in after the place we wanted to go to was closed and it was wonderful! The service was friendly and efficient and the food was good. The only reason it wasn't great was because the meats were a little over cooked. Definitely recommend this place.

Restaurant l'Entrepôte is a delightful gem nestled in Sarlat-la-Caneda, boasting a charming and cozy ambiance with its exposed-stone walls and inviting terrace. This eatery specializes in regional French cuisine, offering diners an array of beautifully presented dishes made from high-quality ingredients. Guests rave about the attentive service and the lovely courtyard setting that enhances the dining experience.
A really beautiful restaurant with a great value set menu. The waiters spoke excellent English and helped us decipher some of the menu items. All the food was delicious and the waiter made a great wine recommendation. I would definitely recommend the restaurant over some of the more touristy ones in the area!
Emily E — Google review
Went there with friends who liked this restaurant a lot a few years ago. Tdlr: ok, but expensive. Can find better alternative. Very limited for veg. Starter: foie Gras. Really good, apart from the 2 bites of toasted bread. More would be welcomed. 2nd: tomato soup: pretty good. Main: pork. Nice meat, juicy. BBQ glaze was almost tasteless. Mashed potato pretty good. Pork near the bone wasn't fully cooked though. 2nd: rice salad (veg). Pretty good fo4 a rice salad. Still a 20e+ rice salad ... Dessert: "the star" profiterole canele style. Understand: canele cut in half with one scoop of vanilla ice cream bathing in chocolate sauce and with some Chantilly on top. I could bet the chocolate sauce was the cheap kind, with no chocolate at all (industrial, not home made). Presentation was lacking. Friends told us it was better before. The dessert was good, not wow, but very expensive imo (11e). Service: meh. Managed to get some of our orders wrong 3 times (relatively minor inconvenience though). All in all: I wouldn't go back there.
Franck B — Google review
Told no reservations - no worries, happy to chance it and come back at opening time. Got there 15 minutes before opening - short queue, but only a few groups in front. No issues with waiting for somewhere that looks lovely and gets good food reviews. Three tables seated before us, so plenty of room. Asked for a table (7 of us). Told no. Said no worries, and said we can sit separately - so asked for a table for 3 and table for 4. Told no. No reason, and fairly curt - and in front of a little girl, which is really poor. Haven’t rated the food or atmosphere as didn’t get chance, but a really disappointing experience. Everything happens for a reason though - a wonderful local lady recommended a restaurant round the corner and it was the find of the holiday.
David G — Google review
On a rainy night in Sarlat, we were glad to have a table inside. The seating was a bit close, so I was staring at a couple at the next table. The food menu offers interesting twists for Sarlat - some work, some don't. The sea bream carpaccio was delicious, but the prawn dish was less so. The foie gras & duck my partner had were both good. The deconstructed profiteroles were tasty. The red wine was very drinkable. Overall, it was a good meal but not a great meal.
Julie K — Google review
Very average. Service was incredibly slow though friendly. There was a set menu costing 28 euros, with 3 choices of starter, and 3 of main , and 2 of desserts. But 1 of the starters and 1 of the main dishes cost an extra 6 euros each. Kid option was chicken with potatoes. The foie gras was nice, as was the dessert, the mains were very unexciting. Location is very central but on a side street so a little bit more quiet.
Celine — Google review
The food was truly exquisite. Starters, as well as the main course turned out to be a really noble experience. The presentation and diverse flavors were surely top notch. Recommend this restaurant very much.
Tom G — Google review
One of the best meals we ate on our whole trip. My husband had an amazing duck confit. The mushrooms in his dish were the best mushrooms I have ever tasted. I loved my poke bowl. The flavors were on point. And the canneles served in profiterole form were absolute genius. One of the best desserts I've ever had. SO good.

Gueule & Gosier Restaurant is a must-visit gastronomic brasserie in Sarlat. Nestled in a beautiful setting slightly away from the touristy streets, this restaurant offers healthy, modern French cuisine with a fusion twist that excites the taste buds. Known for its bold and delicious blends, it's popular for its duck confit and baba rhum dessert as well as other traditional and regional dishes.
We just had a great lunch as a family of 5. A very warm welcome and despite the town is crowded and we didn't book we were able to get seats inside. If you want to be seated outside, booking is recommended. And now: the food is original but traditional and most important locally sourced. The taste was great and our favourite part was that the kids menu was the same as the adult one but halt sized and with 15 Euro more than reasonable. Finally a restaurant which supports the proper education food wise for the next generations. I can not stand kids menus at other restaurants with always the same stuff. Here the kids can eat as the parents and mine enjoyed every bite. Highly recommended.
Virginie — Google review
Fusion of French and Asian cuisine. Some plates are better than others. The Thai duck starter was overwhelming with too many flavors and textures. The little peanut salad was the best part. The pork loin was delicious! Great location.
Mala — Google review
This was the only place I could find that was open for dinner on a Sunday and had a vegan option on the menu. It is nestled between beautiful medieval buildings and narrow picturesque lanes. They were so sweet to make me a vegan amuse bouche and offer to make me a falafel starter (not on the menu). The white wine from Bergerac was delicious, and the service was great.
Sarah S — Google review
Best menu and food in Sarlat! We ate here 3 times while we were there. The dishes were artfully created with fresh seasonal flavors. I had the froie gras, duck, tomatoes, desserts, wine, pork, and vegetarian dish over the course of our stay.

Had a great dinner here. Excellent duck breast and duck confit. Flavors were spot on and everything was cooked to perfection. Chocolate dessert was also delicious. I highly recommend.

Exceptional food, best duck I’ve ever had, served with incredible sauces. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed (which I would chalk down to the intense heat that day). All round well worth the trip and the price.

Auberge Le Mirandol, located at 7 rue des Consuls, offers classic stews, tarts, and wines from the Dordogne Valley in a bistro setting with a natural cave. The restaurant features its own little Lascaux-type cave at the back of the dining room. The food is good and reasonably priced.
What a beautiful meal and excellent service. Definitely have to book. I had the duck breast and was quite a large meal and the duck was well cooked and melted in your mouth. Hubby had the vol-au-vent and is was delicious as well. Excellent and friendly service as well. Desserts were also really good.

A wonderful restaurant in the old town. The food is great and filled with regional produce. The staff are excellent and the building amazing. It even has its own natural cave. Only complaint is they charged €7 for a tonic ( no gin) A great place for a special meal.

Beautiful atmosphere and delicious food! The foie gras trio was a great choice and they fried one of the foie gras which was a fun addition to the appetizer. Of course the wine from the region is delicious and our main meal was crispy and paired nicely with the choice of wine. The kids enjoyed their meal and wanted more bites of everyone at the table!

Great meal after a long day of sightseeing. Started off with the pan fried fois gras in the mango sauce. Followed by the medallions of guinea fowl and the chocolate cake. The meal was excellent, perfectly cooked, and delicious. They recommended an excellent wine to pair with it and the overall cost of the meal was worth it. Don't miss the secret cave in back!

Excellent food, outstanding location, very good service. This was the highlight dinner of our stay in Dordogne. The wines are to die for. Any bio is e em better. Oh my! We chose the menu, because it’s quintessential of the region. Flavours and specialties, from starters to dessert, carefully selected to elate your experience. Go for it! And the cave … don’t miss the cave

My wife, Lynn, and I have been staying in Sarlat for the past week and are so glad we found this restaurant. We had one of the best meals here since our arrival in town. We were warmly greeted, and although we had no reservation, we were seated immediately at a charming table. The staff were friendly, professional and very patient with our “restaurant French.” We ordered the Coq au Vin Maison and the Truite (trout) du Perigord du sauce du Chef. Both dishes were expertly prepared and very delicious. When you are in Sarlat, definitely dine at Auberge Le Mirandol. And, don’t forget to take a look at the cave.

Attentive friendly staff in old world dining room, very affordable price fixe menus, various duck dishes the speciality. Fun caves inside back of restaurant.

Great place, my family and I ate here 3 times our week in Sarlat. Try the découverte de foie gras, the best we had all week! Excellent service, nice menu selection. It was great having a non-frozen kids menu. Seating inside and out was lovely. And you can visit their little natural cave in the back :)

The restaurant La Rapière in Sarlat-la-Caneda is a great place to go for a meal if you're looking for traditional food from the region. It's very rich and filling, so be warned - it can be quite expensive. The service here is excellent and the chicken I ate was some of the best I've ever had.
This is one of my favourite hotels and restaurants in France. I've stayed twice and each time has been wonderful. The owners and staff are so friendly and welcoming. The rooms are very classic, one shouldn't expect thrills. If it's authenticity then this is your place. I slept so well that night restaurant. It is my hope to go again sometime soon.

Tried the €39 three-course menu option and I have no complaints. You can choose between a few dishes for starter, main and dessert. With the extra bread it is almost too much. Good atmosphere sitting outside, friendly staff.

Salads are excellent and overly generous. White asparagus with soft-boiled egg were delicious, as were scallops with coconut cream and vegetables. Service was very pleasant, but it took too long to pay the bill since only one machine was working. Prices are very reasonable.

Had crepes here for lunch on the “crepes” side (beside Rapier, same kitchen). Filling was boring and bland. Everything was edible but not tasty. Salad came with old soggy dark green or black bits in with the lettuce (week old grocery store mix??). Very expensive for what it was. Unless you have to have a crepe, stay away!

The service was absolutely terrible at La Rapière. We came for dinner tonight at about 8:00 pm. An hour after we had finished our main courses, and after multiple inquiries, our desserts still didn't show up. It was already over 10:00 pm and our 7-year-old daughter had fallen asleep. When we asked if they could deduct the costs for the two desserts which we never received (~10€), they refused. A man who appeared to be the person in charge told us no one was authorized to make a prize adjustment tonight simply because his boss wasn't on site.

We went there for Lunch and the food was not realy good and to top it all off we found a price of Glas in the Desert. When we tould them we had no apologie and we have been still charged full price. I dount recomend to go there and if you do eat your food very carefully.

Restaurant
La Romane is an Italian restaurant located in Sarlat-la-Caneda, France. It offers a variety of traditional Italian dishes such as antipasti, pizzas, pasta, and other mains in a charming rural-chic setting with a shady garden. Despite being slightly off the main streets, La Romane is highly regarded by visitors for its wide selection of pizzas and other Italian specialties. The restaurant is known for its excellent food and friendly staff who are accommodating to non-French speakers.
Pour les tourists! This is a restaurant you need to see when visiting Sarlat. David, their chef du Maison is a wonderful and friendly person who will be glad to help. Their pizzas and pasta is out of the world. I highly recommend the carbonara. Don't forget to try their café liegois (coffee ice cream sundae). Absolutely amazing. Cannot say enough you need to eat here!

Very nice place for lunch. We had pizza and will be back to try other dishes. They have a homemade olive oil infused with hot peppers and thyme that really set the pizza apart here in France. Not many spicy dishes which we are used to.

Book in advance for this place, it does get busy. Very friendly staff who humoured my attempts at engaging them in French. The food was excellent. I had the Stagioni pizza which was hopefully close to being vegetarian. They seem to cook the base of the pizza with a few toppings and then add the fresh toppings, such as cucumber and rocket, before serving. Not sure I’ve ever had that before but it worked really well.

Our third night at Sarlat, we came by this place. They were very friendly and served us very quickly. Unlike many other restaurants in France, we didn't have to wait long for someone to take our order or receive food. Our waitress was very friendly and she gave us a shot of digestif after dinner free of charge. We had a lasagna and a salmon pasta. Food was very tasty as well.
Hanna K — Google review
Busy place. Pizzas are good although the bottom of the base could be a little less dark. Minor gripe though. Unfortunately I wasn’t made to feel very welcome. I was dining alone and despite a big terrace area with plenty of free space I was only offered an inside table close to the oven. I asked to sit outside but was told these were tables for 4 and so were not suitable for 1 person. Boss did mention he’d move me but later said it ‘wasn’t possible’ (a table for 2 just outside the window remained empty throughout my entire meal). In the few days I’ve been in Sarlat I’ve noticed other restaurants treating solo diners respectfully, so if you’re alone I’d recommend spending your cash elsewhere

Le Régent is a restaurant located on the central Place de la Liberte, offering high-quality traditional cuisine. It's an ideal spot for a sunny lunch or a romantic dinner with views over Place de la Mairie. The service is friendly and professional, and the food and drinks are delicious without being overly expensive. The menu offers local specialties, providing an authentic French dining experience. The staff is attentive and accommodating, making it a fantastic dining option in a magical location.
We were in Sarlat recently for the first time and what a wonderful historic town . We were in the medieval area looking for a good pizza and happened upon this restaurant. We sat outside when it rained the host was busy opening overhead protection and he got it done. The pizza was delicious, my wife had pasta which was great and our friends' meals were great as well. Overall great food and attentive staff in a great location !

We had walked up and down for a while then decided on this place and I am so glad we did. My husband had the antipasti with a small beer and I had the four cheese pizza with an Aperol Spritz followed by the strawberry and vanilla ice cream (recommended by the waitress) and homemade tiramasu. It was all very delicious. The staff were friendly and spoke amazing English (our waitress had both English and French parents - from Oxford) total meal was just over 60€. Definitely worth a visit.

We went here because we wanted to have some more traditional French cuisine and so we tried the €20 menu which had 3 courses. Everything was great! The potatoes on the main course were incredible!! I could eat those all day. All the courses were very in tune with the local specialties so it was a perfect way to get our French fix. Although we are cheap backpackers, we though that the €20 was definitely worth the experience and the food was fantastic!

We enjoyed this unpretentious restaurant many times over the course of our six week in Sarlat-la-Caneda. Food was always well prepared in generous servings but the service was outstanding. Always enjoyed a warm greeting from everyone on the staff. By the third visit, we were old friends. One of the few restaurants open Sunday during the shoulder season. Ask to be seated in the upstairs terrace and enjoy overlooking the Place de la Liberté.

Nice place on the market square also one of the restaurants which had more variantions as foie gras from geese or canard on the menu. ;-) service was quick and friendly, my burger was ok a little underseasned but lots of sauce. The walnut cake was very nice as was the pizza my wife had. We were outside on the terras but inside and especially the first floor was very pretty.

Fantastic service in a magical location. The staff were very attentive and spoke very good English although we did try to talk to them in French. We both had a pizza each which was just enough and very filling. Although we did sneak a dessert in and "Oh My God" well worth it. Will definitely be eating here again when we are back in the area. Keep up the great work.

Nestled in the charming town of Sarlat, Restaurant Aux 3 Sens stands out as a culinary gem that transcends the typical tourist experience. Owned by Argentine Chef Christian Borini, this delightful eatery specializes in refined Perigord cuisine crafted from fresh, seasonal ingredients. Diners can expect beautifully plated dishes bursting with flavor at surprisingly affordable prices—especially during lunch where you can indulge in three courses for under 25 euros.
Last night, my husband, son, and I had the pleasure of dining at Aux 3 Sens, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, the warm and attentive welcome set the tone for the evening. The dishes were exquisite—every bite a testament to culinary artistry. For truffle lovers, this place is heaven; the flavors were perfectly balanced and indulgent. We left thoroughly impressed and delighted. Highly recommend for an exceptional dining experience!

This was a fairly enjoyable experience. The gentleman that assisted me throughout the evening was superb. He patiently explained dishes and wines to me in English (unfortunately my French is rather poor). I opted for the 3 course menu with amuse-bouche et buerre, foie gras du canard, beef ribs, and chocolate mousse. Eating this kind of service does take a couple hours - don't plan to eat quickly and move on. This is intended to be enjoyed with time. I have never had foie gras before, but always wanted to try it. I appreciated the opportunity to try it in three different preparations, and can happily say that I enjoy it in some forms and not others. Although this was a fine experience solo, I think it would be best enjoyed amongst others simply due to the long period of time. I would also recommend having a better command of French to fully enjoy the experience.
Ali P — Google review
Warm attentive service in a bright venue with delicious, well presented food. We had the 3 course set lunch. My first course was a light creamed soup-like vegetable dish. It was served with croutons and homemade chips. I enjoyed the tastes and textures but not a fan of when the plate is monochromatic (this is nothing against the chef, this is my personal taste). My main was a perfectly cooked filet of fish served with a nice amount of veggies. Dessert was the least impressive part of lunch and while it was very pretty and had nice texture, the fruit overpowered the cake flavour. But I still enjoyed it very much!! Service was impeccable and very welcoming. Setting was a nice change from older and darker venues. I would definitely visit again.

We did not enjoy our meal or our experience here. The male waiter was rude and inattentive towards us while the waitress could not answer questions about the food and how it was prepared. Neither knew who ordered what, which is table waiting 101. The food itself was ok - nothing more than that and we have eaten much better elsewhere. We felt they treated the French customers with much greater courtesy than those from overseas, esp the male waiter. We felt he elevated his bonhomie towards them to emphasise the contrast. If you want an objective care factor assessment, just look at the plants in the boxes outside (photo attached of one) - they are almost all dead!!

Foie gras escalope grilled served on orange creme brûlée bread with foie gras mi-cuit Duck confit IGP Perigord with mandarin and ginger with morels sauce , prunes and vegetables Chocolate 70% with ice cream and truffle walnut oil injector , white truffle and truffle caviar in ginger and truffle crumble Pear poached with pannacotta and gingerembre confit Coming back here. ❤️ Update. : we came back here for our last night in Sarlat. Superb again. Foie Gras again superb , Argentinian wagyu beef cooked to perfection and my wife went for the same pannacotta dessert - had been thinking about it for 3 days ! And I , that amazing declination of chocolate !! Hands down the best restaurant in Sarlat. And one of the finest meals in France.

Inventive and provocative menu and with a few curve balls ( in a good way). this restaurant lives up to its name. I went there with my husband and son were visiting from the United States. All three senses came alive with each dish. When in Sarlat make this one of your stops .

Disappointing. The room was cold. The tataki de thon was good, but the falafel was underwhelming for 24 euros( only one falafel). My husband had the 46 euros menu and found it unexceptional. Overall it was not good value for money.

We celebrated our 30th Anniversary with a month in France and Switzerland. My wife and I enjoy French cuisine and since we're from California where foie gras is illegal, I eat is as often as possible when traveling, particularly in Sarlat la Caneda! I asked our concierge for the best French restaurants that are romantic and serve excellent foie gras and Aux 3 Sens was on their top list. We made reservations a few months in advance and were so glad we did! Of the many wonderful meals we had, particularly in France, we ranked them and Aux 3 Sens was in the top 3. The chef made a foie gras dish for me that consisted of only seared foie gras, my favorite. The meal was spectacular, the server happened to be a British ex pat and provided us with excellence at every step, guiding us through each course. Afterwards, the chef met us at our table and invited us for coffee downstairs in the wine cellar. Absolutely amazing dinner, service, and experience! If you're so fortunate to be in Sarlat, make sure Aux 3 Sens is on your list. Make reservations in advance.

Great bar and tapas joint locally, right in the center of town. We love coming here. They got great wine, artisanal beer, yummy cheese and cold cuts. Best chocolatine I've had. At 8 the chocolate was still warm. The outside was perfectly flaky and crispy. The inside soft and airy. Perfect. There's a car park just a bit south - I recommend parking there or walking from elsewhere. Update to add: I've tried several things from this bakery now, and every single one was perfect. You won't regret coming here. After visiting Lyon and Paris, I will haven't found a boulangerie as good as Maison Lissajoux. Keep in mind that if you want brunch, service is at 10.

Must-visit artisanal bakery in the heart of Sarlat! The smell of freshly baked goods hits you the moment you walk in, and the place has such a cosy, welcoming feel. Their pastries also use local ingredients such as nuts, and everything looks and tastes amazing. We went back later for a sandwich and treated ourselves to two Périgourdins with pralines.

An excellent place, the aroma of freshly baked bread and the trays of pastries will make you hungry as soon as you open the door! You can take away, or enjoy at a table in the back - it was my go-to for morning cappuccino and a pastry, and if I lived here it would be a daily thing. Beautiful interior, friendly staff, who speak far batter English than I do French. If you find yourself in Sarlat, this is a must-try. They also offer a small selection of sandwiches for lunch. Baking is done on site, and behind glass windows you can watch these experts make miracles out of flour and water.

Food paradise. We spent two nights in the hotel Meysset and I regret I didn't plan all my meals there, made reservation for one dinner only 😂 Fantastic cooking, great combination of flavours (without overdosing butter sauce;), extremely attentive, well trained service. And if that was not enough - epic views from the terrace. Unmatched quality that you cannot find neither in the town down the hill nor in the 200 km radius. Kudos to chef and whole team!

A lactose free meal was ordered. However, the potatoes were cooked in butter, and part of the dessert was ice cream. The starter was very basic listed as salmon, but you needed a magnifying glass to find it. The main dish was duck the toughest I have ever eaten. The second part of the dessert was fruit that consisted of a few cubes of roasted apple poneapple and orange. Certainly not worth the 27 euros charged, particularly if you are hungry.

The only areas for improvement to merit a 5, in my opinion, are: the bread. It's a shame to offer such cuisine with basic breads, and the cookie ice cream must have been in the freezer for a while because you could feel the crystals in the center of the ice cream. Service: 5/5. Nothing to complain about. The server was pleasant, discreet, and explained each dish... Atmosphere: 5/5. Very pretty little setting with a magnificent view of the Sarlat hills. (Translated by Google) The place is nice and has a nice view. The plates are beautifully presented and the service is quality. However, the truffle menu is extremely disappointing. I didn't taste the truffle once during the entire meal. Of course, there are slats for decoration, but they are tasteless. When you can buy commercially available truffle salt or oil that perfumes a dish with just a few drops, it would be high time to add some to your dishes. This would avoid feeling a sense of deception. If I had to rate only the truffle menu, I would only give one star. However, the servers were very pleasant and it is obvious that the cooks are experienced, although not lucky enough to work with quality produce.

I’ve been in Sarlat-la-Canéda in January when most of the restaurants are closed but by luck stumbled on this one and made a reservation. Wow. Each dish knocked me out. Classics made fresh with real creativity. Easily the best meal I’ve had in France over the past week.

Varied menu, lovely setting, helpful service. Food seemed great but I had what can only be described as 'digestive distress' afterwards. I hadn't eaten at lunch so it must've been something I ate here :(

The food is so good that I made a rare choice to leave a remark without being asked to. Both standard choices (e.g. filet de bœuf) and their specialties (onglet de veau cuit en base température) are prepared exquisitely. The servant is a charming man always with a welcoming smile on his face. It is a must-visit restaurant in Sarlat!

Great bistro style dining with modern touches to French classics. Good value lunch menu but only a la carte in the evening. Good choice of dishes , desserts not quite as good as the starters/mains is only criticism

Outstanding reception with a new twist on typical French cuisine. Very friendly and helpful staff. We will return!

A wonderful meal at Sarlat-la-Canéda! Very welcoming waiters and staff, a lot of good vibe, confident and professional chef. We were sitting close to the open kitchen and the smell of all kinds of dishes are soooo pleasant 😋

The food and service were excellent. One of the best meals we have had in France.

Absolutely superb! Food was faultless, Foie gras, beef fillet and a “snicker dessert” the vibe was perfect, young staff who were excellent and professional. Well done!

Le Comptoir Authentique is a charming store in Sarlat that provides a diverse selection of regional products, such as fois gras, terrines, walnut cake, and walnut beer. They also offer delicious gourmet sandwiches which can be enjoyed on the spot or taken away to savor while exploring the surrounding area. This delightful shop is perfect for picking up lunch with its assortment of authentic local food items and nonperishable gifts.
Small, unassuming, and lovely. The proprietor and the quality of the food are perfect. Merci beaucoup, Monsieur. (I would love to know the name of the small round cheese. One of the best ever.)

A great experience away from the crowds, nestled up a beautiful cobblestone street. Highly recommended with a good selection. Had lunch there today with a group of friends and will absolutely be returning soon. 😎

This is not about the products (which are by the way very nice), but about the service. I was in this (very nice) shop with my two-year-old boy who was very interested in all the small things around him. Although I kept running after him the whole time and kept watching what he did, the lady remarked that the child must not touch anything (at that moment he had looked at canned sardines). It was a bit of a shock because I was being very careful indeed. It seems obvious to me that children (as well as adults) can/may touch things: it is not a museum, but a shop. The lady went on and told me in a sanctimonious way: you ought to teach them (children). It feels wrong to me to forbid everything to children instead of explaining to them that they have to be careful with what it is they do touch...which is exactly what my son did.

Great place to get lunch if you miss the restaurant window. The sandwich Perigourdin (rillettes and cornichons) was very tasty.

Great salads, very friendly staff. Open for food after 3pm with sandwiches and salads to choose from. Also nice gourmet selections to purchase.
