Restaurant
Nestled in the charming village of Azenhas do Mar, Água e Sal is a delightful culinary gem that offers an array of fresh fish and seafood dishes. Although it’s not directly by the water, this restaurant captures the essence of coastal dining in Portugal. Opened by the son of a local restaurateur, it serves up mouthwatering specialties like grilled lobster and succulent prawns, alongside traditional favorites such as fried fish with garlic rice and aromatic herb butter limpets from the Azores.
Had the rosbife, and it was excellent—tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The service was friendly, and the overall atmosphere was warm and inviting. A solid spot for a good meal in Azenhas do Mar!

Highly recommend the seafood rice for 2. The portion is massive and filled with lobster, scallops and clams. Very reasonably priced for the quality/quantity of food.

The view from this restaurant was amazing. Bruno was our waiter and went above and beyond to ensure every part of our dining experience was perfect. They had a great range of food choices. Each dish was beautifully presented, fresh, and full of flavor. Portions were generous. Overall, this restaurant sets the standard for what exceptional dining should be. With outstanding service and unforgettable food, it’s a place I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an extraordinary experience

Perfection at its best! This restaurant has everything. Great food, service, and atmosphere! It’s important to make reservations, because they are busy even in the off season. We loved sitting outside. It was very busy and great people watching. After dinner, make your way down to the beach just a short walk away for a sunset to complete the evening. youtube @travlinfam

I would like to start with wonderful olive oil. The turbot fish was amazing, it came in perfect shape, the outer parts were juicy and jelly. Even though the mussels were small inside, they were very delicious. Small shrimps with garlic were delicious. Baby potatoes and boiled vegetables along with fish were the color of the meal. Served with tempura green beans, tartar sauce and basil sauce. It was the best I've ever eaten. We chose 2023 Soito white wine to accompany it.

A huge portion of Sea Bass, we shared it between two people, it came out to 40 euros for two, a great price! Also, there is a parking.

Really enjoyed the shrimp soup, and the cod thing. But not too much on the mousse, probably my own taste bud doesn't suit the taste.

Restaurant
If you're looking for a beach restaurant that goes beyond the typical beach bar, then Bar do Fundo is the place to be. Located in a stunning and well-lit setting, this restaurant offers a menu that combines the best of traditional Portuguese cuisine with a touch of sophistication. The wide golden sand beach provides an ideal spot for surfers, and the restaurant's fantastic terrace is perfect for enjoying a delightful lunch or evening drinks. While parking may be challenging, there is private parking available nearby.
Great food in an absolutely gorgeous setting! The staff is also amazing. We had a little incident with our 4 year old daughter, who got sick while we were there. Our waiter, Marcos, was an absolute gem. He tried to make our daughter feel better by giving her a balloon, helped us clean up and set her up for a nap in her stroller, giving us blankets. We were really touched by his kindness and professionalism. Our dinner was amazing and the view is stunning. Definitely recommend this place.
Corina T — Google review
Incredible place with extraordinary food! Grilled octopus is good. I also got fish with fantastic rice (forgot the name), especially rice cooked perfectly, love it! Friendly and very helpful personal. Stunning views, restaurant just on the beach. Recommend book in advance for Friday evening, was packed.
Mary L — Google review
Incredible meal with an unbeatable view of the sunset, either reserve or come a little early to snag an ideal spot on the patio. The food here I pricey but justified based on the location, quality of the food and the service provided. Our server Nuno was fantastic, super friendly and gave amazing recommendations. The beef tartare was interesting, a very balanced dish that was honestly quite surprising. The scarlet shrimp paella was fantastic, super deep shrimp flavour and the scarlet shrimp themselves were unbelievable soft, the juice from the head pours right out, to elevate the rice that much more. Clams were also good with some really fantastic bites but I don’t think this is my preferred style of preparation. Not pictured was a chocolate mousse dessert that was also very good.
Degonto M — Google review
I got goosebumps from the sunset. Portions are big, generous, tasty. This experience was very enjoyable. The communication in English is available, so don't worry about language if you're a tourist from another country. I recommend coming here with family. One dish is more than enough for one person, but if you have leftovers, you can ask the staff to pack them for you. Also, I highly recommend the goat cheese salad and the craft soda.
Hornet N — Google review
Awesome service and proper wine portions! The staff was attentive without being intrusive, and the atmosphere made the whole experience even better. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for quality dining with great view
Anton — Google review
Stunning location on the beach, a really friendly vibe, with excellent fish and local specialties. Our waiter Jao was excellent. We had a fantastic lunch.
Francis B — Google review
Came here for a Linner starting at 4 PM. The setting right on the beach is spectacular. The octopus was among the best I have had, including substantial travel in Italy, Spain, and Portugal. The small clams and the mussels were also excellent. Most interesting was the Burrata. , which came with an interesting pesto sauce. We had a 3 1/2 year-old and one and a half year-old grandson with us and they were very accommodating. Highly recommend.
Paul C — Google review
Great service and super tasty food! The fish was filleted right at our table by the manager herself — such a nice touch. Everyone from the receptionist to the waiters was super friendly and attentive. Loved the vibe, the view is absolutely stunning, and it’s just the perfect spot to wind down and enjoy the evening. Would totally come back!

This seafood restaurant has an amazing setting overlooking the ocean and offers a great selection of Mediterranean, European and Portuguese dishes. The wait for tables can be long, but the food is worth it!
Beautiful place and amazing food! The octopus is great and well done. I really love the atmosphere and the staff treated us great! Definitely a place to come to. Recommend 100%

This restaurant has a rich history and serves incredibly delicious food. Everything is of the highest quality. I especially want to mention the octopus we ordered—it was absolutely perfect! The service was also excellent, and the view from the window was breathtaking. ——— After leaving, we stopped at a nearby beach and faced some problem happened later. And a kind man—whose family owns the place—helped us. His genuine care turned a stressful moment into a heartwarming memory. It’s rare to find such warmth and hospitality anywhere in the world, but this place—and the people behind it—truly embody the best of Portuguese kindness. Thank you for the best Portuguese hospitality! We will never forget this. Obrigado!

What na amazing place ! Restaurant near beautiful beach. Building has its years, but it doesn't matter. Food is amazing, fish is prezented to you before serving. Service is at the top level, waiters know their work. I highly recommend the place its worth to wait for the table.

I had a wonderful experience today. The atmosphere is truly welcoming, making it a perfect place to enjoy a meal. The food was absolutely delicious—every dish was full of flavor. What stood out the most, however, was the service. The staff were incredibly polite, kind, and sincere, which made the experience even more special. Their attentiveness and genuine friendliness created such a positive impression. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for both excellent food and outstanding hospitality😍

Great customer service... the owner Even came out to help our party of 8 get home. The food was top tier... I've been eating fish for the past 5 days and this place had my favorite (Dourado). The servings are so filling... our table got a variety of foods so I was fortunate enough to try a few dishes.... you really can't go wrong.

A hidden gem right on Praia da Adraga – stunning ocean views, friendly service, and incredibly fresh seafood. The octopus was absolutely outstanding – tender, flavorful, and grilled to perfection. Probably one of the best I’ve ever had. If you're near Sintra, this place is a must. Come for the view, stay for the food – and don’t miss the octopus!

Restaurant
Restaurante Nortada is a highly recommended dining spot in the Colares area, known for its fish and seafood offerings. Established in 1979, this family-managed restaurant upholds the values of its founders by providing excellent service in a warm and welcoming environment. Guests can enjoy stunning ocean views while savoring fresh fish caught in the wild.
INCREDIBLE. Seated above the ocean and a beautiful walking path, with manicured lawn and natural flowering ground cover running down the hill. The staff were excellent, ever present and attentive, but not intrusive. Open to answering all questions and providing excellent input on dishes and desserts. On recommendation, I got the shrimp with the coconut milk sauce and rice, which was beyond expectations and very reasonably priced. I ordered the chocolate mousse for dessert, but the staff also provided a sample of the coffee layered cookie cake to try, which resembles pumpkin pie and tastes like a cookie-graham cracker dessert. The views and ambience are unparalleled and I was fortunate to arrive during off-peak times, having the place nearly to myself, and the sun room window open to let in the fresh sea air. I HIGHLY recommend this place. Topping it all off is the beautiful drive in and out to reach it. Wonderful day trip stop after Cabo de Roca and Praia Ursa.
Ryne L — Google review
The food was good but for me the taste was ok. The ingredients were fresh. We ate Fish with rice was good and the lobster risotto. We also had the sea bass with puff pastry and that I think was the best. the Padrón Peppers were also fine. The service a little slow but the waitress was nice. The view is amazing if you can get a table close to the window!
Rosma M — Google review
I recommend this place 100 times over! Starting with the stunning view and wonderful atmosphere, the lunch here is delicious. We tried a variety of dishes — tuna, octopus, oysters — all incredibly tasty and beautifully presented! The staff were friendly and attentive. Dining by the ocean is a true pleasure, especially when the food is this good 🥰
Anastasia — Google review
One of the best, possibly the best in the area. Extensive menu. Freshest ingredients. Great service and reasonable prices. Suffice to say that over the last 3 years we have dined here more than 20 times. We are looking forward to the next time. Personal Thanks to Hector.

Absolutely phenomenal place with great service good pricing, quality food, very fresh seafood as well. The place is on top of the hill just next to the beach and you can see the sea from it. The view is absolutely scenic and beautiful and the staff is extremely friendly highly recommend it.

Restaurante Nortada is a cozy, inviting spot with great food and a stunning view. The atmosphere is relaxed yet vibrant, the dishes are delicious, and the service is friendly and efficient. Whether for a casual meal or a special occasion, it’s a fantastic choice with a welcoming vibe. Highly recommended!

Nestled near the breathtaking Cabo da Roca, Refúgio da Roca is a delightful haven for food lovers seeking a memorable dining experience. This charming restaurant offers an array of delectable dishes that highlight the rich flavors of Portuguese cuisine. From their hearty fish soup and savory rice with shellfish to perfectly grilled octopus and cod, every bite is a celebration of local ingredients. The unique grilling method using bay laurel sticks infuses meats with subtle aromas that elevate each dish.
What an absolutely delightful evening! The clams were hands-down the most delicious I've had in a year—perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. My husband couldn't stop raving about the squid skewer, and for good reason—it was a standout dish. The wine complemented our meal beautifully, rounding out an already exceptional dining experience. This little gem is a true find, and we can't wait to return!

Great place to have grilled squid with Broccoli. Mine missed its head😁… which I’ve seen on other photos of the review. The setting outside is amazing. Friendly staff.

Excellent seafood cuisine! Perfect hospitality. Highly recommend this restaurant: Best in town!

Very good food. We tried the Grilled sardines, grilled chicken and the grilled pork sausage and all of them were delicious in their own way. The chocolate mousse was also very interesting as it had been chilled to an ice cream consistency and was supposedly a local dish as well. As per my understanding, it's also one of the closest restaurants to Cabo da Roca.

The restaurant Adega Vadia in Sintra is a great choice for Portuguese food. The quality of every dish was excellent, and the service was great. It can be a bit difficult to get a table, but it's well worth the wait.
Such a gem. I highly recommend eating at this special place. Quaint and cute. Delicious food. I had the prawns, rice, and salad. Wholesome, fresh, and hearty. Lovely service as well! Cannot recommend enough!
Julia — Google review
I would not have discovered this gem of a place tucked away in the hills of Sintra had it not been for our local guide Marta. An unassuming restaurant which serves authentic Portuguese cuisine is highly recommended! I loved the veal croquette, the veal with pickled veggies, vegetarian dish of mushroom and peppers, the soup (made from local herbs) and being a fish-lover- the fish cakes! For dessert, the cookie cake is highly recommended. This is where I tasted my first Portuguese "beer-nut" (Lupin beans). The owner was attentive and you can eat as much as you like.
Sutapa B — Google review
Untrustful staff not exciting dishes. Feels like my mum made quick dishes with left over ingredients. No recommend at all. Worst ever restaurant I ever visited in Portugal.
Y P — Google review
Really enjoyed the food and staff were super friendly. We got s table no problem on a weekday in winter but apparently on weekends or summer booking is required. Tapas vary in sizes so worth asking the staff if you should order extra portions of something you like the look of.
Shannon W — Google review
An absolute gem, tucked away near Sintra. The service was some of the best in Portugal. Very friendly and spoke excellent English. The tapas dishes, while small in size, delivered an array of fantastic and unique tastes. The trilogy of tapas (sausage, mushrooms, and croquette meat) was fresh and delightful. Pro tip: save room for dessert. The Cookie Cake was incredible. Both in texture and taste. Prices are more than reasonable. The music played (radio) was right on point: 80s pop/soundtracks. Would definately recommend. Cash only.

Búzio is a renowned upscale restaurant located in Colares, offering a traditional Portuguese dining experience with an extensive wine selection. Specializing in fresh seafood, the restaurant's proximity to the sea provides an ideal setting to savor its high-quality cuisine. While not the most budget-friendly option, Búzio is praised for its delicious mariscadas and well-executed meals. The elegant ambiance features crisp linens and attentive wait staff, although some minor service aspects may vary.
I went to this restaurant many years ago, after many years I can visit it and it doesn't disappoint, the food was excellent. shrimp curry was delicious. There is a huge variety of seafood and fish.
Hugo M — Google review
1. The service is rude and doesn’t speak proper English even tho they present as they do 2. The food was somewhat okay…octopus was covered in oil so you could taste oil much more than the actual octopus, grouper was too salty, but potatoes were good and the oysters were quite good too. 3. They brought starters without even asking - this is rude. We then said we don’t need them. 4. We asked for grouper and salad and the waiter brought fish with salad and potatoes which we didn’t order.. 5. Too long until came to take the order even tho the waiters were casually walking around.. without even looking at us. have no clue what are those good reviews, probably they are nice to you if you are local only. Do not recommend this place.

Very fresh seafood and great steak combined with an excellent selection of wines and first-class service. Also, the deserts were just amazing! They showed a lot of care for my son and did even let him hold some of the life lobsters. Thanks for a great evening!

Great seafood and shellfish, we had a great lunch , the service was slow and having young children did not seem to make a difference for us. But the food was delicious

This restaurant was recommended by our tour guy João and it was definitely a great choice. We enjoyed every meal here including the curry shrimp with almond rice 10/10, the garlic shrimp with garlic rice was so tasty and good. The fish soup is a must so much flavors in it. Definitely would try this place again.
Darshanie D — Google review
First of all the food was amazing. The chefs did an amazing job for everyone and we couldn’t ask for a better meal. Unfortunately the service lacked behind when they for example gave a wrong dish to one of our guests, and forgot to bring out the wine until after the food was out. Lastly, the acoustics were very good in the restaurant.
Sofus T — Google review
I loved this restaurant. You can tell the chef owner takes her craft seriously. The large kitchen is well organized, the restaurant contains live tanks with crabs, lobsters, and a display of fresh fish and seafood. The lunch was fabulous. And the steak grilled on a hot stone at the table was unique and I really enjoyed cooking my own steak. Fries were awesome as was the salad. Octopus was tender and delicious.

The best meal we had in all of Portugal. The food was so delicious, it tasted like home. We came here with our tour guide, who picked the dishes for us, and trust me, everything we tasted was so good and made with love. Do NOT miss out on desserts. The lemon pudding and chocolate mousse are to DIE for. If you’re visiting Sintra, don’t go for lunch anywhere else.
Maha E — Google review
Pensão Sisudo is a really nice budget friendly guesthouse. The rooms are small but cozy and comfortable. Breakfast is really nice, breakfast is left in boxes in the kitchen, it includes a loaf of bread, chorizo, ham, cheese and butter. Also there are always great fruits, yogurts and coffee available. It is worth mentioning that the entrance to the guesthouse is very narrow and the stairs are really steep, so its not suitable for people with disabilities. The best part is the restaurant downstairs—it’s absolutely fantastic. Everything isl delicious, especially the octopus! Highly recommend visiting it. (But Its closed on Sunday evening) Overall, this guesthouse is a really nice budget friendly option for not demanding travellers!
Taisa — Google review
An experienced tour guide brought us to this restaurant for lunch, on the way to Cabo da Roca. He got it right, the meal was delicious. Try the lime mousse dessert, it beggars belief. Small anecdote: We noticed a local VIP eating there, a successful big wave surver who lives in the region, which may indicate a place well-regarded by the locals. (Please note that this review is only about the restaurant, we didn't stay at the hotel.)
Bergdomain — Google review
Excellent food at their restaurant, beef steak tataki was amazing. Accommodation was lovely too, small family run bnb with attention to detail. They really took care of us.

The apartment looked nothing like the photos. Strong, unpleasant smell that got into all our clothes. Everything inside was dirty and damaged, bathroom full of grime, shower switching between freezing and boiling, plus flies and bugs. We stayed in cheaper places in Portugal with much higher standards — this was by far the worst.

Adega das Azenhas is a renowned restaurant located in a centuries-old former winery, offering traditional Portuguese cuisine with premium ingredients. It's a favorite among locals, serving generous portions of home-style food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The rustic decor and lack of TV create an authentic dining experience. Despite its popularity, securing a table can be challenging, so booking in advance is recommended.
Wow what an experience, we got to try every Portuguese food. The Barnacles were something new to me and they were surprisingly very nice, I could have eaten a lot more but had to save space for the main dish which was the duck rice, it is a big portion and very filling but tasty. The calamari strips were a good starter. The various desserts were great 👍 overall a fantastic restaurant. Reservations are a must and the waiters were friendly.

Such a pleasant place to have a meal. Staff was kind, every single one of them. Atmosphere nice, with quite a big hall. Food was great as well, and the price was more than affordable considering both quality and quantity of each dish. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who visits Azenhas do Mar!

I can’t confirm all the good reviews. Come here for the food (only the fish - the other dishes were disappointing). The view is amazing, you can see waves splashing against the coast from your seat. However, the staff was quite rude. The waiter was condescending and tried to be funny. Not professional at all - we felt uncomfortable. A year or two ago this place was great, but I can’t recommend it anymore.

Very pleasant experience this is an authentic Portuguese experience. Warm host the owner has a big smile 25€ for appetizers- try the barnacles - main course desert and all the wine you want Finish with a stroll to see the beautiful city

Ribeirinha de Colares is not just your average restaurant. It offers a variety of services including event organization, catering, and also operates as a pastry shop and gourmet products store with its own wine cellar. The menu features Mediterranean-inspired dishes prepared to perfection. Visitors can enjoy dishes like melt-in-your-mouth sting ray, pork chops with savory beans, and flavorful mashed potatoes. The restaurant provides an excellent selection of wines and top-notch service.
It’s the best meal we had in Portugal. The food was very local and delicious. The waitress wrote an English menu for us xD
Wang Z — Google review
Friendly, authentic and rustic. Duck rice and duck confit were very good. Everything is cooked on demand so it can take some time. But it's worth the wait. We didn't have desert, but the chocolate cake looked tempting. Also nice wines from Colares.
Chef H — Google review
I can only recommend this restaurant! The tomato risotto was fresh and super delicious. Vegetarians will definitely be happy here. The service was incredibly friendly and the ambience was super cozy.
Svea G — Google review
Excellent meal from start to finish. My wife got the stingray which was so tender that it melted in our mouths. They made a dish as simple as baked beans taste delicious and totally unique. I’m still thinking about the chocolate cake dessert two days later… Weird of advice: make a reservation ahead of time! It took us a couple tries to get in, but it was well worth the wait.
Jordan R — Google review
One of the best meals we had in Portugal. The duck rice was delicious as was the lemon pasta. The flavors of the watermelon salad were very complementary and refreshing. The waitress was lovely.

Coming back from the beach, we stopped in Colares for a quick lunch break and discovered this amazing restaurant. The rice with duck was really amazing, in general food quality was high at a very good price. The place is beautiful and well preserved. It deserves a visit!

The place was fully booked but they managed to get a quick slot for us, that was really kind. The staffs are polite and professional. The chef delivered our food and was absolutely lovely. The food was absolutely gorgeous... even though we didn't have much time we still managed to eat even the dessert. Totally recommended but need to book in advanced. We will be back. The Terrace Hotel Arribas in Colares offers an elegant restaurant with a focus on contemporary cuisine. The kitchen's ethos revolves around simplicity, emphasizing that the most straightforward things are often the hardest to execute well. Despite some service issues reported by guests, the recommended dishes were described as truly delicious and reasonably priced. The hotel itself is praised for its beautiful atmosphere and excellent views from spacious rooms.
Stopped here on our way back to Lisbon from Sintra. It was such a pleasant dining experience. The seafood was delectable -- fresh and full of flavor, with great portion sizes. The sangria was delicious. The service was attentive, and the servers provided great suggestions. Everyone in our party was pleased with their meal. It was worth the detour to dine here.

Great food and great view. Seafood is as expected well done. Pork chop was surprisingly crispy and fatty. We had a great experience overall.

It's okay but definitely not a show stopper. Food was good but not wow. Service was poor, unfortunately. That kinda ruined the meal. It's pricey for what you get. Again you pay for the view and location.

Delicious food, drink, and desserts! Chef was very accommodating to our food restrictions. Wait staff were friendly and helpful. Vegetarian options.

Amazing place, the food is delicious and the waiters are very friendly and welcoming 🙂Best service in the area, highly recommend!

What was recommended was truly delicious! And so affordable, even more expensive i would order this dish: fish with selery puree and caviar butter. Almost haute cuisine. As for the other dishes i didn’t have chance to try. Ordered today’s lunch linguini with seafood tomato sauce but that is less than I expected (probably because in Italy they use garlic often and is a bit tastier.

Colheita 71 is a charming gem that celebrates traditional Portuguese cuisine and delightful petiscos. With its rustic decor, the restaurant exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere, making guests feel like part of the family thanks to the long-standing staff. It's one of the few places in the area where you can savor an authentic Porto-style francesinha. During my visit on a lovely Tuesday evening in May, I was greeted by a friendly waitress who enthusiastically guided me through the menu in her best English.
Absolutly amazing! We visited in May and still talking about it. The food was amazing, great service, ladies were so lovely and we had great chats with them. Their special sangria and chefs suprise is a must try! We cant wait to visit again, definitly best food we ate in Portugal. My husband doesnt like prawns but he had 2 full plates, he couldnt believe the taste of them

Don't wait, this is the place for your meal. Unassuming but once you are upstairs this place will blow you away. The food is fresh and prepared with love and care. Lea was the best and really treated us to understanding traditional Portuguese cuisine. Awesome time!
Rob P — Google review
The food was good but a little pricey, the place is very nice but the waitress didn’t have a good energy. She was a bit rude and seems like she was trying to push specific dishes, we didn’t even had time to look at the menu. Maybe that’s why the restaurant was empty on a Friday night.
Ludmila C — Google review
Just had the strangest experience at this restaurant. Went in on a Friday night and it was totally empty. Had a feeling to just leave but unfortunately didn’t follow it. The service was strange and aggressive. When I asked for details about particular dishes on the menu that I wasn’t familiar with, I just got a lecture about how they serve traditional Portuguese food. Ok. In the end ordered a bottle of wine and 3 dishes: a salad, pica pau, and bachalau a bras. First of all, the wine there’s no selection, no menu. Just brings out a cheap looking bottle and says it’s great. Ok. The salad and pica pau were both tasty but overpriced for the portion. Then the bachalau. She brought a dish of roasted potatoes with breadcrumbs on it. I said where is the fish? She proceeds to speak for 10 mins about the regional dishes of Portugal, and if I want fish I should go to the seaside. In the end she shows the price, 60 euros and refuses to show an itemized bill. 60 euros for a tiny salad, potatoes and pica pau. And a bottle of Wine that looks like it came from the petrol station. She also made us pay in cash. Please—avoid this restaurant at all costs. One of my top worst dining experiences ever.
Jessica B — Google review
Great home made food! Go with time because everything is made in the moment, but you won't regret when the food arrives. It's really good and not expensive. Just don't forget to take money with you, because they don't accept credit cards.
Ricardo C — Google review
We ate in this attractive restaurant on a Tuesday evening in May. The waitress was helpful and charming. She good humouredly explained each dish on the menu with enthusiasm in her best English until we understood. Each dish was enough for all 3 of us, the bread, olives and cheese pate were delicious. The clams and their liquor were delicious, the grilled prawns plentiful, large and tasty, and we ordered extra bread to soak up the sauce of the beef dish from the Azores. The local wine was good. We had a lovely evening and wholeheartedly recommend!
Christine B — Google review
The staff were reeally really rude.. we ended up leaving because we felt so uncomfortable. The food was fine but not good for how expensive it is. There are so many good restaurants around, i would highly recommend skipping this place. The photos are also quite misleading, the place inside is actually quite ugly and the atmosphere is quite different to how the photos make it seem.
Liam L — Google review
Arrived to a nearby Air BnB and spotted this place on Google. Immediately met the owner who talked us through the menu and we chatted via Google translate about the stories of some of the dishes and the local area. We ended up having the Chef Surprise Tapas and 1 other choice from the menu as well as dessert, Wine and Port. All of it was amazing and the conversation and local recommendations kept coming. I can't recommend enough this restaurant for the vibe and the wonderful owner

We came to Sal & Xixa SteakHouse in the evening and had such a fantastic experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming - especially the lovely gentleman who served us. The food was absolutely amazing, and the all-you-can-eat style meant we could enjoy as much as we wanted. Since it was my birthday, they even surprised me with a few freebies, which made the night feel extra special. One of the coolest things was their hot stone gimmick, where you can cook your own steak right at the table - it's not only delicious but adds a really fun atmosphere to the whole experience. Everything about this place was perfect, and I honestly couldn't recommend it enough. Definitely a 5-star experience!

We love this restaurant and have visited many times. The food is good and the owner a lovely man. Steak is the main dish of the day, with lots of sides. The wine is local and good quality. Sometimes we put ourselves in the owners hands and let him choice what we are eating, we have never been disappointed.

I love everything about this place. I came here 3 years ago and it was so good I decided to go again. I love that we get to cook the meat ourselves, it’s fun and entertaining. The owner is a super nice guy. If you’re having dessert, I recommend the cheesecake and tiramisu, both are very delicious. It’s close to the beach too so after a long beach day, this is a nice treat.

Excellent bar to have a nice and relaxt diner with friends and family. The owner takes very good care of his guests. Very relaxt atmosphere with tasty starters, meaty mains and lovely dessert. The wine was excellent and very well chosen by the host. Parking in the street next to the restaurant or at the parking very close by.

I really expected much more before I came here, maybe because of the great reviews from others from months ago. Unfortunately I did not enjoy my pasta, it had almost no taste at all, the eggplant was not enough, the penne was overcooked and there was no Parmigianino nor any basil on top. Moreover, when I went to the bar to ask for the check, the waitress was in a personal video call on her phone and she turned her back to me while her colleague gave the check to me, totally unprofessional.

The owner couldn’t be nicer, the food was very good, but the service was better. He reserved all the courtyard, because my group was big enough. 100% recommendable

I'm not sure of it was because it was a Sunday night but we ordered salad and it was missing some ingredients indicated on menu, had no presentation and we needed to add dressing ourself. Looked like salad you would pay 5 euros for. The menu was missing the price on the salad and he charged us 13 euros each for the smallest salad with no preparation. Charged us full price even when he saw it was missing some ingredients. Felt like a rip-off. Very disappointed. Worse place we at in Portugal.

Café Snack-Bar Rijo is a delightful spot that embodies the essence of traditional Portuguese dining. This charming establishment offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, where locals gather to enjoy comforting dishes that reflect the rich culinary heritage of Portugal. With its tiled walls adorned with local memorabilia, Rijo exudes authenticity and character. The menu may be concise, but each dish is crafted with care, ensuring high quality and flavor in every bite.
This is the one and only friendly place I was able to find along this whole stretch of the coast. Very authentic with its tiled walls, Benfica trinkets, and super bock delivery guys hanging around for their morning coffee. Ok, I got a cappuccino when I ordered a meia de leite, but this was probably in an honest attempt to accommodate tourist tastes. (While the rest of town and around it have been ruined by the latter, regarding both infrastructure and friendliness).

My partner and I were lucky enough to stumble upon this little this little gem. Initially it was quiet and we were unsure of whether to go in - but we were thankful we were brave, as it soon became full of locals and a warm, relaxed atmosphere. The staff were friendly to us foreigners and the food was comforting and nourishing, reminding me of recipes being passed down through generations. There were only a few items on the menu and I loved this as the quality of everything was amazing. The silky broad beans in the meat stew were the best I've ever had, along with their rich and salty chocolate mousse, which was obviously homemade. The bread was fresh and crusty yet doughy and the beer was cold. This place felt full of love. These kinds of businesses need to be protected and people should take a chance on them! Thank you so much!

The Quinta Vale da Roca is a tourist destination with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. It offers guests a wide variety of activities and accommodation options, some with ocean views. The hotel features an outdoor infinity pool and gardens.
Our stay was amazing! The view of the hotel is beautiful, looking out over the sea was a real treat everyday. The breakfast is simple, but has everything you'd want. The location is a bit remote, so having a car or bike is recommended. The hotel itself unfortunately doesn't do dinners (which is a shame, considering the location), but there are amazing places close to the hotel.

Incredible stay all around. Best place we stayed in Portugal by far. Service was great, view was incredible, room was so comfy. Lot of great restaurants and things to do close by.
Mike Z — Google review
Beautiful location with stunning views!! The room was neat, clean and has all you need. We do feel the people who created this place, with a lot of eye for detail, left. The garden needs some work and the service was not the best. The women welcoming us was very sweet, but wearing a Lady and the Vagebond sweater - in a place like this that doesn't really fit - and didn't explain us much. While there is so much to tell, about where/how to use the spa, their own wines, the vineyard, the area and practical things like how to open the gate when wanting to leave. And when we met her fiancée the next morning, who did the breakfast, he was wearing sweatpants and on his phone most of the time. Also we expected a bit more of the breakfast, in a country as Portugal, you at least expect some pastries. And when we arrived the first morning, there was little bread, no eggs and the jam and cheese were finished. It just doesn't fit the vibes or does this beautiful place justice. Not speaking about value for money, because it is not a cheap place to stay.
