Moroccan restaurant
Restaurant
Nomad Marrakech is a well-established restaurant in the medina, offering stunning views of Place des Epices. The 60s-inspired space provides various dining areas and rooftop terraces, creating an enjoyable atmosphere for lingering over meals.
We came back for a second time after our trip in November last year. The food was again perfect: a delicious blend of Moroccan flavours with a modern twist. The rooftop views and the terrace decor are stunning too. We remembered Mariam from our last visit, she was very professional and friendly and both her and Tariq made us feel very welcome and the kids comfortable for their first visit. We highly recommend!
Camille W — Google review
Went here with a group had to wait a short period before being seated as was busy. The atmosphere was nice, though it did get a bit breezy, staff were quick to put up covers, which was appreciated. The food was only okay overall, the prawns stood out being tasty. Prices felt a bit high but depending on what you're after, the overall experience was pleasant.
Vish — Google review
Average food, not the freshest, unfortunately the rocket leaves served with the fritters were slimy and old so we didn’t eat them. But overall flavours were good. Nice atmosphere and views. Not really any vegetarian options for mains, a few for entrees though.
Olivia H — Google review
Excellent rooftop dining experience. I recommend a reservation just to make sure you get a table where you want to sit. The views are very good. Nice breeze and shade. The 3 breads is a nice starter as well as the 5 juice tastings. My lamb chops were solids as we're my partners prawns. Dessert was excellent with 2 ice creams scoops with unique flavors as well as date cake with vanilla ice cream. Excellent experience!
J H — Google review
We booked this restaurant specifically to catch the sunset, and it was definitely worth it. It’s one of the few places with proper rooftop access and great views over the city, just make sure to book early or you might end up sitting under the strong afternoon sun before the sunset starts. The food was decent overall. The sardine tarts were delicious and well-seasoned, the grilled lamb chops and chicken thigh tagine were hearty and flavourful, and the Agadir calamari was the standout dish, tender and paired with a beautiful tomato-based sauce that tied everything together. A great place to unwind and enjoy the sunset over dinner, definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
Roger A — Google review
Staff seemed friendly and service was quick. The big selling point is the view over the local Souk below and the Marrakesh skyline which is probably one of the best in the city. From here you can see the city passing you by as you watch the sunset in the distance, so for the vibe and atmosphere it is a great place to visit. However both the food and the drinks let this place down, they are overpriced even when taking the view into consideration. The food I would say is just about edible at a push and the drinks are ok at best. When you factor in the location there is so much better food and drink establishments a stones through from this place. It’s really down to the individual if they feel it’s worth the sacrifice of poor quality food and drink for a world class view.
N W — Google review
I had such a wonderful experience at Nomad Restaurant! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere throughout the evening. The food was absolutely outstanding — every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The slow-cooked lamb (cooked for five hours!) was to die for — so tender and rich in taste. The chicken with couscous was equally delicious and perfectly seasoned. Even though the restaurant doesn’t serve alcoholic drinks, we really enjoyed our non-alcoholic beers, which paired surprisingly well with the meal. Dessert was another highlight — simply amazing and the perfect way to finish such a memorable dinner. The menu is very reasonably priced for the quality and experience you get. One thing to note: it’s a popular spot, so make sure to book well in advance! Highly recommend Nomad to anyone looking for excellent food, great service, and a cozy atmosphere.
Wilfredo R — Google review
The food and drinks were very good, but the best was the view. Make sure to get a reservation, and specify the TOP Rooftop, as there are 2 and the top top is the best. Make the reservation for 30 -45minutes before sunset or the first evening Asan.

When you find yourself wandering through the vibrant streets of Morocco, one dish that should be at the top of your culinary must-try list is couscous. This beloved staple, made from finely ground wheat or barley grains, is often infused with the aromatic Moroccan spice blend known as Ras el Hanout. Each household boasts its own unique recipe, showcasing a delightful mix of spices like coriander and cinnamon, along with fresh touches such as lemon juice and mint.
Delicious typical couscous in the heart of Marrakesh. The plate for two is very big, and it includes lots of veggies and big portions of chicken. Both women cooking dont speak any other language than Moroccan, but they are great hosts. The price per person is 100DH and it includes two mint teas, a bottle of water, chicken couscous (one big plate for two people) and a pastry afterwards per person. The menu and price are fixed. Highly recommended!
Natalia M — Google review
Authentic and delicious couscous in the area. No menu, only 2 options: vegetable or chicken couscous. 10€ per person, including food and beverage.
Thu H — Google review
We were really looking forward to trying Naima, but unfortunately our experience was disappointing. We arrived right when they opened, only to find they were still setting up. After placing our order, we waited over an hour for the food without being told that the couscous was only just starting to be prepared. While the service was friendly, the lack of communication and long wait made it a frustrating visit. Couscous was okay but definitely lacked flavor. Hopefully better timing would lead to a better experience.
Alon J — Google review
The best couscous in the Medina. The couple who run it are super kind and the food is delicious, big portions and it tasted like homemade food. Fully recommended.
Carlos F — Google review
Had the most AMAZING time at Naima’s for couscous Friday. Here for a henna conference and our organizers said if we had had other couscous to forget about that because this was another level. We went after having some other couscous around the Medina, and Naima’s was by far the best taste and best experience. Can’t wait to go back!
Jessica M — Google review
Delicious! Highly recommend. Chicken couscous traditional just turns up at the table, really good! 100 MAD with water
Jon A — Google review
An authentic experience! Many restaurants claim to serve traditional, homemade couscous but this is the place to visit if you want the real thing. It's a small, basic "restaurant", run by two women. We arrived, I said hello and made the eating sign with my hands, the older woman asked me if I wanted to eat couscous in French (that's the extent of my french). She offered us a seat and went to go make it. She didn't ask which couscous we wanted. I guess they cook what they have (and they cook it well) Tea and bottled water was provided by the other lady. When the couscous arrived we were not disappointed. We were served a large portion of chicken and vegetable couscous that was filled with flavour. At the end we were given some almond treats/biscuits as a dessert. Overall Naima provides an amazing, authentic, no rush/no fuss experience. We were charged 100MAD person. A very reasonable price for the amount of food we got.
Oscar W — Google review
To go here you need to read the reviews. This is a characteristic place, forget the touristic plastic menus in english, actually forget a Menú. You arrive, they will smile and show you in which of the. few tables you can sit and you sit. They bring you water and tea, and you take it. Then they keep cooking until they serve you this huge portion of very good cous cous with vegetables and chicken. Once done, they'll give you some more tea, a biscuit, maybe two. And that's it. If you don't speak the language communication is hard, but they smile. At the end she will show you a A4 paper with writen 100 dhm, that's the price per person, that's it. It's probably not the cheapest in Morocco, but there are 2 womans only cooking, serving and cleaning.

Lebanese restaurant
Naranj Libanese is a popular restaurant in the medina known for its vibrant salads, flavorful mezze dishes, and wood-fired grilled meats. The owners, a Lebanese woman and her Syrian husband, are passionate about showcasing the best of Lebanese cuisine using fresh Marrakech ingredients.
Having toured Morocco for 16 days, I had my favourite meal here. It was so good I’ll be returning tomorrow for my meal before flying home. The restaurant is very clean and has comfortable seats. The service was friendly, quick and efficient. The food was clean and tasty. It was a little more expensive than is average but worth the small adjustment.
Brian W — Google review
This was the best place I found to eat during my visit to Marrakesh. The food was delicious and well worth the price compared to other spots in the area. I even went back a second time! The staff were friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the souks and looking for something full of flavour.
Vish — Google review
Enjoyed this place so much visited twice in my short trip to Marrakech. They take reservations and walk in. Lovely staff and beautiful decor. They have a rooftop as well as indoor setting. We ordered the lemon ginger drink as well as the hibiscus refresher. Both delicious. We had the beef shawarma, perfectly cooked and tasty. My favorite was the fateet betanjan made with a twist. Differently plated than the traditional dish but so delicious!
Besan Z — Google review
Very delicious food, friendly staff (waiter Youssef is great!), vegan and veggie options. Atmosphere on the roof terrace also great, fresh air but still warm and cosy. Highly recommend!
Minita F — Google review
Wow! This has to be the best Lebanese food I have ever eaten. Our meal was an absolute triumph of flavor, each one bursting with incredible taste, Lamb with lentils, perfectly seasoned octopus salad, and even hummus that managed to convert a non-fan (me!). The vine leaf and spinach balls were equally delightful. Beyond the phenomenal food, the staff were extremely friendly and attentive, making the entire dining experience truly memorable. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough – if you're looking for an authentic and incredibly flavorful Lebanese meal, this is the place to go!
Suresh S — Google review
As a Lebanese guy, I can wholeheartedly say that this restaurant's food is excellent and embodies the spirit of authentic Lebanese cuisine. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared with high-quality ingredients, showcasing Lebanon's rich flavors. You will surely savor the experience and enjoy the vibrant tastes that await you.

Fancied a bit of a change from morrocan food so went to this hidden gem. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Service was speedy and excellent. More of a casual dinner and drinks vibe, would definitely come here again.
Omar A — Google review
We had an amazing experience here! The waiters were really kind and polite. They often came in to check if everything was okay. The surroundings were really calming. For dinner, we chose the hamshouka and fatet djaj. Both dishes were absolutely amazing. I would definitely recommend to go here

Moroccan restaurant
Al Fassia Guéliz is a standout in Marrakech's dining scene, known for its richly-hued dining room and Fassi heritage. The restaurant, run by the Chaab sisters, offers a mini feast of nine mezze dishes and standout main courses like pumpkin and lamb tagine. With a charming and cozy ambiance, this women-run establishment provides an expertly crafted menu with fresh local flavors.
Al Fassia in Marrakech is a culinary gem that deserves every bit of its glowing reputation. Nestled in the Gueliz district, the restaurant offers a refined yet warm atmosphere, blending traditional Moroccan decor with understated elegance. From the moment you step inside, the scent of saffron, cinnamon, and slow-cooked meats sets the tone for an unforgettable meal. The dining area is adorned with intricately carved wood, soft lighting, and crisp linens, creating a welcoming space that feels both luxurious and unpretentious. The menu is a celebration of Moroccan classics executed with precision. Standouts include the tender lamb tagine with prunes and almonds—succulent and richly spiced—and the chicken pastilla, a flaky pastry layered with savory shredded meat, dusted with cinnamon and powdered sugar. Each dish arrives beautifully presented, highlighting the care put into both flavor and aesthetics. The couscous, steamed to fluffy perfection and paired with seasonal vegetables, is a must-try. Desserts like orange blossom-infused pastries or mint tea served in silver pots provide a sweet, aromatic finish. What truly sets Al Fassia apart is its all-female staff, a rarity in Morocco’s dining scene. The service is attentive without being overbearing, guided by genuine warmth and expertise. Portions are generous, and while prices lean toward the higher end, the quality justifies the cost. Reservations are advisable, as the restaurant draws both locals and travelers. For an authentic taste of Moroccan hospitality and cuisine, Al Fassia delivers an experience that lingers long after the meal ends.
Mana S — Google review
Exceptional food and a truly authentic Moroccan experience. A small but fascinating fact: since 1985, this place has been run exclusively by women - and they absolutely kill it. Every dish is full of flavor, heart, and tradition. The atmosphere is warm, the service is genuine, and the food speaks for itself. I’ll definitely return and recommend it to all my friends. Don’t even think twice - just go.
Anastasia B — Google review
Incredible food. Nice setting. Highly recommend the tagines. We really enjoyed it. Staff were very nice too and sorted us a taxi home. Moroccan wine was also very good.

I went to Alfasia with my friend and we had such a wonderful experience! The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, warm, stylish, and welcoming. I ordered the chicken with orange, and my friend a lamp tajine, both were delicious full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. The service was also excellent. All the girls working there were so kind, attentive, and professional, which made the whole evening even more enjoyable. I wont forget the guys at the entrance too they were very kind. Overall, a fantastic restaurant with amazing food and great service, we’ll definitely be coming back!
Toseehamza — Google review
If your in Marakesh, this is the place to visit. Booking a table is highly recommended, service is on point and the food is great ( we had the slow cooked shoulder of lamb). The staff only speak French and Arabic, but don't let that put you off, they do have English menus.
Wayne W — Google review
Food was good, had beef tagin and husband had the lamb shank. Service was fine. Ambiance was a slightly opulent, white tablecloths, a beautiful green garden towards the back. Near the garden is the only well lit area for tables. Other tables are dimly lit. English, french, and Arabic on the menus. Credit card accepted. The security guard out front was the most friendly, it was a pleasure to be welcomed by him and he warmly wished us well when we departed the area, offering to hail us a taxi if needed. I can't compare the food to other places that serve tagin cause it was mmu first time but I liked it, it wasn't dry, had good flavor, and the portion was perfect for me. I took an early evening reservation in Sept but it didn't seem needed as there were plenty of tables available for walk ins. Enjoy!
Brooke N — Google review
I have read so many fantastic reviews of Al Fassia and have wanted to go for many years. I managed to get a table for two this week and it was sublime. This is a superb restaurant in every way. The food is on another level. I had lamb tagine and my partner who is vegetarian had the vegetable tagine. They arrived steaming hot, bubbling away as they were laid on the table in front of us and the smell and taste have to be experienced to be believed. All female owned and run, it is a place of outstanding professionalism, creativity and skill. I would highly recommend. But you need to book as it is so popular.

Amal in the Gueliz district of Marrakech is not just a restaurant, but a program dedicated to empowering disadvantaged women by helping them develop culinary skills. By dining at Amal and trying their traditional dishes made with fresh, local ingredients, you are supporting their mission. The restaurant offers the best tajine and is only open for lunch. It's especially busy on Fridays when they serve couscous.
A Gastronomic Gem Empowering Women Amal is a truly special place, run exclusively by women, and it offers an experience that goes beyond just great food. Having lunch here was an absolute delight, combining a warm atmosphere with impeccable service. The food is not only delicious but also reasonably priced, making it an excellent value for the quality provided. The menu is thoughtfully curated, showcasing the best of Moroccan flavors with a touch of love and care in every bite. If you’re in the area, Amal is well worth a visit. It’s open only for lunch, so plan accordingly. Just 10 minutes’ drive away from Jama El Fna, this hidden gem is worth the short drive. Supporting Amal means not just enjoying an amazing meal but also contributing to an inspiring initiative empowering women in Marrakesh. Highly recommended for a memorable and meaningful dining experience!
Abrar A — Google review
I've been coming to this restaurant for lunch a few times, and it’s always such a lovely experience. They used to offer a daily menu with about three options for each course—starters, mains, desserts—plus a few fresh juice choices. Lunch in the garden, with soft music playing and the sound of the fountain in the background, is a real treat. 🎶 Now that it’s summer, they’re open for dinner too, and the vibe is totally different in the best way. The evening breeze, cozy lighting, and relaxed ambiance create such a special atmosphere. ✨🌙 The new à la carte menu has so many tempting options. Last night, we tried the mini pastilla with beef and the chicken liver croquettes—both were absolutely delicious! Highly recommend. 👌🍽️ Service is awesome! Thanks to Chaima, Bouchra, and Hasna

A lovely culinary experience. Run by women to support women which is part of their mission. Such a beautiful place to enjoy a delicious meal. We started with a few drinks, the hibiscus and lemonade were our favorite. The fruit&veggie salad was beautiful as much as it was delicious. We had the special of the day which was a baked chicken. We also tried the sardine croquettes. Definitely recommend visiting when in Marrakech!
Besan Z — Google review
The food was absolutely delicious – every dish was full of flavor and beautifully prepared, from the fragrant tagines and classic zaalouk to the mouthwatering desserts like jawhara and mhencha. A true taste of Morocco at its finest! What makes this place even more special is the wonderful idea of supporting hearing-impaired staff – a truly heartwarming initiative that adds soul to the entire experience. We joked among ourselves that only a deaf man could handle working with so many women – the team spirit and positive energy in this restaurant are simply amazing. At the end, they kindly let us take a group photo and even posed with us, which was such a lovely gesture and the perfect way to wrap up the evening. A beautiful place – we highly recommend it to everyone! Come for the food, stay for the kindness and the atmosphere.

Great place to try multiple moroccan dishes, clean and good ambiance. Plus its a social enterprise too!
Enia M — Google review
My husband and I ate here 5 out of the 8 days we were in Marrakech in January. Starting from the beautiful patio with trees bulging with oranges to the welcoming staff and tasty menus, we fell in love with Amal. A bonus is its important mission to train women in multiple roles in the food and hospitality industry. We generally ordered one vegetarian tagine plus another of the rotating main dishes. We had several starters over our multiple visits, a few fresh fruit drinks and the fabulous cookies/biscuits that are on display inside. A value meal, not as inexpensive as some restaurants but wellworth the very reasonable prices. On our last day I got hugs from staff who we had gotten to know. Take the time to get to know them!
Cathy R — Google review
This is a fab find. Great food, had the Chicken Tagine & the Ground Meat Taco for lunch today. The service and food was outstanding. I love that this is also a training place for ‘disadvantaged women’ who are trained and then they go out and get careers in the catering industry, well worth supporting. It’s cheap too as it is a non-profit organisation. I highly recommend it and I will be going back to try some more of their other dishes. The menu is small but varied and looks like it changes often too and you can also do cookery classes here as well.

Cafe
Cultural center
Live music venue
Cafe Clock is a warm and cozy cafe with a focus on local dishes, live music, and cultural displays. It's located near the famous Koutoubia Mosque, serving as an orientation point in the city. The cafe offers a solid menu of Moroccan soul food, including camel burgers, roast-chicken couscous bouhaloo, and lamb tagine. Additionally, it hosts art exhibitions and weekly storytelling sessions.
Prices here are very fair! If you walk couple meters further towards the center of the medina you pay easily 30% more. The food was very good, especially when you want to eat something different than the standard options in other places. Very cool place in general, very inspiring, can easily see myself hanging out there the whole afternoon drinking tea or coffee
Dr. W — Google review
This is a nice restaurant in the Kasbah area of Marrakesh, with an indoor space (with no AC or fan so hot and not very big) and an outdoor rooftop area (No fans and in summer also really hot). The decor of the restaurant is nice, staff are friendly wearing touristic t-shirts. In the entrance area there are loads of pamphlets and brochures of the Marrakesh area as this is a touristy restaurant. We ordered the fried chicken burger and Chicken Rfisa. The prices are quite high, but the quantity is good and food is freshly cooked. The burger came with french fries which tasted horrible as they were soggy. It was our first time trying the Chicken Rfisa as it's a local Moroccan delicacy but it was unique and a one time try for us: filled with lentils, bread, and chicken (basically chicken tagine with bread and not served in a local style pot that tagine is famously served in). The Rfisa was also very filling and nice. The staff, when asked, also promptly gave us a takeaway box to take our leftovers with us.

Had a fantastic baking class with chef Marwa. Got to make 2 different types of breads and two cakes. All very tasty! Included a trip out to the local community oven and shops for some essential ingredients. Too much food for us to eat but doggy bags provided along with a detailed recipe card to take home. Don’t miss the spiced coffee and date milkshakes in the cafe either! :-)

A 'multi-cultural' restaurant that also offers cooking courses. We ate there one evening and had a really good time. Nice, chilled atmosphere and really good food. The service was quick and friendly. There should be something there for most diets - we had salad bowls which were very filling, but there are plenty of meat dishes including a camel burger. There is also a good choice of soda drinks and fruit juices. I think there is live music most nights and when we were there, there was a singer / guitarist which just added to the laid back feel. Recommended.

Had the camel burger and it was fantastic. Can highly recommend it. There was also live music which was very nice. Price is a bit high compared to other places but it's worth it.

Such a great place! Staff members are very kind, food is good, and cats are roaming around. But what I loved the most was the acoustic performance on the terrace. The performer is so talented! It did add up a lot to the overall atmosphere of the place, which already was extremely cozy. Would highly recommend it to anyone! :)

THE camel burger, of course. A great place to try it, it's hard to say if you like it (to me it tasted like a beef), but you definitely should try it. The place is very accessible, and live music is just great, cudos to the singer

Just avoid honestly, I ordered take out for 30€ of food and most of it taste like it has gone bad. The camel burger bread was so hard that I almost broke a teeth. The sauce for the carrot cake was not the one expected at all but something else. We will probably be sick because basic hygiene does not seems to be respected in this cuisine.

Chez Lamine is a historic eatery located in Mechoui Alley, Souk Ablouh, known for its mouthwatering mechoui (smoke-roasted lamb). The restaurant has been serving customers for over a century and starts its day by lighting the wood in the underground oven. While it may not always offer alcohol, when available, Moroccan wines are prominently featured on the menu. Although English translations are not provided on the menu, Google Translate can be helpful.
I love the food, especially tangija and tagine, BBQ was excellent as well and the tea was just perfect every time. Prices are very affordable. Highly recommend!
Hrvoje Š — Google review
I was recommended Chez Lamine by a Moroccan friend, and it exceeded all expectations. Tucked away from the touristy areas, this spot offers truly authentic food. The tangia was a standout—absolutely delightful! The BBQ was cooked to perfection, and the tea hit the mark every single time. To top it off, the prices are very wallet-friendly. Even the crème caramel was a pleasant surprise. A must-visit for anyone craving a genuine culinary experience!
Arun G — Google review
Probably one of the best cuts of lamb I ever had. Great service, could not recommend more. Truly authentic.
Daniel C — Google review
I went to one of the Chez Lamine restaurants on that street of pit roasted lamb. Just to be clear, I am not sure if the restaurants are distinct from each other or all under the same name. The one I went into is as pictured. I ordered the smallest (they said would be 1/2 kg) weight of lamb to try, and I got to say, this was one of the worst food experiences I had in Morocco. About 60% of the weight was pure fat, 15% bones. Skin was so taut and I could barely rip them. Lean meat was hard and dry that was hard to swallow. Meat was not warm and bread was stale. Nothing about this place was worth the 130 Durham that I paid. I think I ate about 20% of what I got and didn't think the rest was worth eating. Service was non-existent and flies everywhere. I was thoroughly disappointed and would not recommend going.
Ann W — Google review
The Flies Welcome You First The moment you sit down, the flies are there to greet you — and they don’t leave. The place is not very clean, dishes don’t look spotless, and the tables are cramped and poorly organized. Servers keep bumping into my chair or table as they pass, and the noise level is high. I ordered a salad that was supposed to be protein-rich, but it wasn’t what the menu described. I also ordered chicken, but it had way too many spices. When I asked the server about it, he simply said, “That’s how it is.” The air conditioning isn’t working, so the heat makes it even more uncomfortable. Looking around, I noticed many people at other tables didn’t even finish their meals — which says a lot. For a restaurant run by a famous chef who once cooked for the King of Morocco, this was a big disappointment.
Ishak Y — Google review
Food was so delicious, but a bit expensive.. It was very disgusting that the waiter charged me more than what i consumed he was confused when i asked him why he is doing that… I recommend this resto but ask always the bill before to pay

Amazing Service and great food! The Lamb Mechoui was on point and the Tangia was to die for! Also the salad es have been very good! We will come back for sure. For us it was a great experience for a very reasonable price.

Nestled in a charming riad within the historic Medina, Le Trou Au Mur Restaurant and Roof Terrace offers a delightful dining experience that transcends typical Moroccan fare. This elegant eatery boasts an intimate ambiance and presents a menu inspired by cherished family recipes, featuring unique dishes like tihane—entrails stuffed with spiced kefta—and mechoui, succulent grilled lamb. Each dish is crafted from scratch, ensuring authenticity and flavor.
If you are traveling through Marrakesh this should be on your short list of dinner restaurants. They were very welcoming and made it an easy experience, with everyone speaking multiple languages. But unlike many places we visited, Le Trou Au Mur seems to understand better why a tourist is visiting Marrakesh. We want to hear the language and feel like we have traveled, and the staff here more openly shared their culture than other places we visited. While I'm delighted so many speak English here, I'm still interested in understanding about the local language and culture. We were able to ask questions about dishes and we were given great background information and had our poor pronunciation gently corrected. As to the food, easily the best presented and tasting dishes we've had. They were promptly prepared and delicious. The raspberry tea was also amazing. To me, I got the impression the chef is or was trained internationally, and is using that experience to curate a wonderful experience at this restaurant. If you're wondering where to get GOOD food in Marrakesh, give them a shot, you won't regret it. As to price, we split a half a bottle of wine with another party, got a tea and two large entrees for 57 USD on my credit card.

Le Trou au Mur is the kind of place that deserves to be much better known. The rooftop terrace may not look like much in photos, but in reality it’s a lovely and peaceful spot—perfect for dinner away from the hustle of the Medina. What truly makes the experience stand out is the team: incredibly kind, thoughtful, and attentive throughout the whole evening. As for the food: 5⭐️. I had the tanjia, a Marrakesh specialty, and it was honestly really good. Full of flavor, tender, perfectly spiced. Highly recommended!

This was our favourite Marrakesh restaurant. Interesting Offal dishes and a good selection of half bottles of wine. Exceptional views and superb decoration and atmosphere. Funky lights and very friendly staff.

Went there for a dinner on a Friday evening. We sat outside on the rooftop. We had booked, but there were plenty of tables available. The setting was very pleasant. Service was great, but the food was not as good as I had hoped. We got the collection of Moroccan salads, which while nicely presented, weren't well seasoned. Moreover, the bread wasn't really all that great, not sure if it wasn't fresh, or if it was simply not great bread. For mains, we got the M'rouzia, which came with couscous. The flavor was good, but the meat was undercooked and hard to cut. The other main was the Mixed Meshoui. Despite its name, it's more traditional barbeque than grilled meat, i.e., it's goat meat slow bbqed for 6 hours. This is this signature dish, and it was great, full of flavor, let down by the accompanying bread. Service was great and attentive. If I were a local, I would go back there but only for their signature Meshwi.

Just perfect!!! You won't be disappointed. Everything from good, wine list, recommendations, service and location made for a memorable night. For 2 people, bottle of wine, cocktail and 2 courses- £100. Booking required but never a problem getting a table.

We arrived at around 3pm for a late lunch, it may be useful to know that the kitchen closes at 3.30pm however the staff were lovely and accommodating and didn’t make a big thing of this at all - we ordered 4 plates between 3 of us and this was the perfect amount of food for us to share. The food was delicious, the lamb a little pink which was perfect for us - the only criticism would be that the garnish with the lamb was quite wilted - however we appreciated it was the end of service. The juices were divine, I had citron mint, my sister cabbage, spinach, raspberry and blueberry. The staff spoke excellent English and we did not feel rushed at all - although we realised later that they were due to close for a short while ! We would definitely return here - perfect if visiting the Medesa de Ben Yousef as it’s very close by.

We really enjoyed lunch here, the dishes were unusual and the menu was interesting overall. The atmosphere was pleasant, and when we were there, it was almost empty. But the fact that they didn't bring us our change after we paid was very upsetting. Only WE can decide whether to leave a tip or not; you have no right to make that choice for us and leave the change without calculating the customer's bill.

Terrasse Bakchich is a small, unassuming restaurant that serves up some of the best views in the heart of the Medina in Marrakech. The cook with his red fez always seems to be cooking something on a makeshift burner, and the terrace offers stunning vistas of the souks below. If you're looking for an authentic Moroccan dining experience, then Terrasse Bakchich is where you need to go!
One of the best dinners we had in Marrakech ! Staff was amazing , food was delicious and charming location ! Tajin with prunes and lamb is a must Don’t miss it if you are passing through the Medina!

Tucked away in a maze of narrow streets, this hidden gem is easy to miss at first glance, looking more like a small kitchen shop than a restaurant. But step inside and make your way up the tiniest spiral staircase, and you’ll find yourself on a charming rooftop terrace with a rustic feel, offering a lovely view of the city life below. Specializing in Moroccan cuisine, the restaurant serves traditional dishes with authentic flavors. We tried both the tagine and tanjia—each slow-cooked in its own unique pot—delivering tender, aromatic bites that paired perfectly with a refreshing Moroccan salad. To top it off, the freshly squeezed orange juice was a simple yet delightful touch. If you’re looking for a true local experience away from the typical tourist spots, this place is definitely worth seeking out.

This rooftop terrace is located in the middle of a souk, if you ever need a break from shopping I would greatly recommend this place. The view of the souk is unexpectedly pretty, giving you an authentic view of the surrounding area. The decor is really pretty. The beef and chicken skewers were really good, just a bit of a small portion. The orange juice was very tasty and refreshing. The service was quite slow, but there was an adorable restaurant cat who was super playful and kept us entertained the whole time.

My favourite food spot in Marrakesh. Excellent local food, not touristy, tucked right in the heart of the bazaar – with the sounds of market life and the nearby mosque adding to the atmosphere. Definitely get the Moroccan salad with your dish – simple, fresh, and beautiful.

Wow the most incredible meal I have had in Marrakesh! The rooftop is great along with the service! Must try the tagine and chicken skewers! I will be back!

Found this place on google maps and reviews looked good so had to give it a try! The place is a bit hard to find round the backstreets but well worth it! If you are looking to a fancy place then this is it for you but if you are looking for something a bit rustic and authentic then you must try this place! We dined on the rooftop terrace which is accessed via a small staircase at the rear. The views are limited but still better than sitting downstairs. We ordered a selection of dishes to included the Moroccan salad, meat couscous, chicken couscous, chicken tagine, meat tagine, harira soup and of course some fries!! The food came out quickly which was great as we were starving. Presentation was on point and the taste was divine. The dishes are larger than what I have had at other places and comes with vegetables so there was plenty to go around. The waiters are very friendly and attentive. Best place so far during my stay in Marrakech.

Jemaa el-Fnaa is a bustling square in Marrakech, known as the heart of the city's carnival. During the day, it hosts market stalls and various performers such as snake charmers, henna artists, and musicians. As night falls, the square transforms into a lively hub with food stands offering grilled meats and fresh orange juice vendors.
Such an amazing place!!! Some tips you need to know: 🎁 You will fibd amazing presents from clithes, shoes, decorations, etc 📦 Everything you buy can be send home but onky if you buy in very stablished stores with good reputation 🤝 You will have to come to an agreement of price, usually prices are 2 or 3 times higher than tge real ones 💯 You can pay in cash or credit cards 👀 Check in detail what you are buying, for example somethingS are made with old leather and they break immediately like shoes.

Jemaa el-Fnaa, the beating heart of Marrakesh, is a place unlike any other in the world. At first glance, the square feels like a vast stage where life unfolds in a surreal choreography of noise, color, and movement. Crowds flow endlessly across the open space, creating an atmosphere that is both chaotic and mesmeriz-ing. During the day, food stalls and vendors line the square, offering fresh juices, fragrant spices, dried fruits, and countless souvenirs. Snake charmers, monkey handlers, and street performers mingle with locals and tourists, producing a scene that feels like a dream—or a hallucination. The cacophony of drums, flutes, and voices intensifies the sense of otherworldliness. As night falls, Jemaa el-Fnaa transforms. Dozens of food stands appear, filling the air with the aroma of grilled meats, tagines, and couscous. Clouds of smoke and steam blend with the glow of lanterns, while storytellers and musicians gather circles of spectators. Visitors often describe Jemaa el-Fnaa as overwhelming, even disorienting, yet unforgettable. The mixture of exotic scents, vivid colors, and surreal images leaves a lasting impression, making the square not just a marketplace but a living symbol of Morocco’s cultural energy. It is a place that creates an experience both chaotic and magical.
Lefteris S — Google review
Chaotic in the best way possible but I never felt unsafe. There are a lot of vendors who will try to get your attention, call out to you, or invite you to look at what they’re selling. Just be mindful and keep walking if you’re not interested. I usually just ignored it and was left alone. Trying to be polite and saying “no thank you” only invites more conversation. They speak Arabic, French, English, and Spanish, so switching languages won’t get you out of it. There’s so much to do and see here. It’s full of life and energy, with tons of food stalls, juice stands, restaurants, and places to grab a drink. There’s music, street performers, and all kinds of entertainment everywhere you look. It’s also where I saw the most tourists in all the cities I visited. You’ll see animals that people offer to take pictures with, but just keep in mind they may or may not be treated well. Still, the overall experience is unforgettable. Jemaa el-Fnaa really feels like the heart of Marrakech.

Full of life, full of people and goods for sale. Massive renovation happening on the square, but doesn’t change anything. We spent a lot of time around that area during our week stay and truly enjoyed the area
Sandrine W — Google review
It's wild here. Like a circus with out a tent. Maybe it's because they are still rebuilding and upgrading the floor, it but it's a one and done for me. Almost all of the restaurants have a rooftop to sit at and watch the craziness. It's recommended to at least visit once.
Antony O — Google review
Decent place, worth visiting but you have to be armed with patience. Be careful, if you are curious to take a look at the various shows, I recommend that you have some money, they will ask you to give them tips, if not they will be very insistent. Normal practice in Marrakesh, but if you're here it means you know what you're getting yourself into 😁
Dulgheru C — Google review
Jamma el Finna is the soul of Marrakesh city and truly amazing place to visit to explore the Moroccon culture and heritage. There is almost everything for everyone to enjoy. This place is swarmed with snake charmers, magicians, Burber Street art performers, Hina stylists, freshly squeezed fruit juice vendors and tasty food sellers. You can visist this place anytime but it comes to life in the evenings and you really enjoy the hustle and bustle. We tried traditional Moroccan tagina, grilled Bbq, soup and polished it off with a refreshing Moroccan mint tea. Food prices are reasonable and everything was tasty. A two course meal with starters and drinks will cost you around 250 Dirham €25 , which is decent quality and value for money.
Mo R — Google review
This is a wondrous and magical places that lives through the day but comes alive at night. There’s so much to see, so much to experience and such an incredible culture exposure. While it can be an overwhelming experience with all that’s happening and all the people trying to make a living, the beauty lives within the chaos of it all. Highly recommended visit here. It’s great to come closer to the end of the evening so you can experience the transition into night time. Just a fair warning, be prepared to be approached consistently as you move through the market. Everyone is trying to make money, so nothing is ever free, even when they offer you something. Be mindful of what seems like a fair price and don’t let anyone there dictate a price for you.

A lovely café right on Jemaa el Fna! Drinks arrived very quickly, and the prices are surprisingly fair for such a touristy area. The staff were very attentive and even brought extra plates so we could share the delicious tajine – really great service. The restroom was also clean and well kept. The tea could have steeped a bit longer and the music was a little loud, but that’s part of the lively atmosphere of the square. Overall, a really nice spot to take a break and enjoy the vibrant scene.

We ordered the cauliflower burrito and harira. The soup was well balanced but the burrito was very average. It tasted very sweet due to the sweet potato but not balanced well with spices. The cauliflower could have also been warmer. On the positive side, it is quite a popular place especially because of the amazing rooftop and sunset view. The place gets very busy between 6.30-8pm. the service was good too.

Disappointing Experience at Café des Épices – Marrakech – Severe Food Poisoning from the Paris-Marrakech Burger I dined at Café des Épices – Marrakech, located in the heart of the Medina near Rahba Kedima spice square, on a recent evening. I selected the Paris-Marrakech Burger from the menu, drawn to its description of minced beef, smoked eggplant, fresh lettuce, tomato, pickles, and homemade hot sauce, served with sautéed potatoes. Unfortunately, this decision led to a deeply regrettable outcome. Within hours of consumption, I experienced severe symptoms of food poisoning, including intense nausea, repeated vomiting, and debilitating abdominal cramps that persisted for over 24 hours. The incident not only disrupted my evening plans but also forced me to book an emergency flight back to the United States the following morning, cutting short my entire trip to Marrakech. Upon arrival home, I required further medical evaluation, where dehydration and bacterial contamination were confirmed as direct consequences of the meal. As a traveler who relies on reputable establishments to uphold rigorous food safety standards—particularly during nighttime service—I was profoundly dismayed by this preventable lapse. The staff’s response, limited to a brief apology without follow-up or accountability, further aggravated the situation. I strongly advise against ordering the Paris-Marrakech Burger or any prepared items during nighttime service at Café des Épices – Marrakech until comprehensive hygiene and quality controls are demonstrably enforced. This experience has irreparably damaged my confidence in the venue, and I will not return. One star, granted solely for the initial efficiency of service prior to the ordeal.

I absolutely loved the place and its vibe! The atmosphere was cozy and authentic. We ordered a smoothie and a lemonade, both of which were super fresh and delicious. I also tried the eggs with khli for the first time it was really tasty! Just a heads-up, the khli is quite salty, but it adds a unique flavor that makes the dish special. We had also fresh ice tea 🫖. Overall, it was a really enjoyable experience, and I’d definitely come back again.

Chef Khalid Robazza Essafa's menu features Italian dishes like linguine della casa del pescatore and risotto carnaroli allo zafferano, as well as Moroccan specialties such as mechoui dagneau and tajine dagneau makfoul.
Really enjoyed our experience at Pepe Nero. Mohammed and Simo made the experience very special for my dads 60th birthday. It was such a charming view. Make sure to book in advance to receive a table in the main area. They did their best to accommodate us. The mushroom truffle pasta was very good. The beef tagine was very good. The herb crusted lamb was ok but could have used a little more of the sauce/vegetable. They brought out a cake for my dads birthday and the cake was delicious. Truly made the night special.

My partner and I both got food poisoning after eating here. The food poisoning lasted a full week. It was horrible. We had the caprese salad, ravioli, mushroom linguine and tiramisu. So so disappointing especially given the price point. There were also so many dead fruit flies on our table when we got seated and many flies everywhere during our meal. I would not recommend at all.

We visited Pepe Nero based on TripAdvisor recommendations and good reviews during our October vacation. All the food and drinks were excellent, and the atmosphere was charming, as is typical for Marrakesh. The prices of food and drinks are relatively high even for Europe, let alone compared to normal prices in Morocco. What surprised us, however, was the lack of interest from the staff. We always had to ask for someone to notice us. I would not expect this from a restaurant of this type, and I do not think it reflects well on them.

The food was excellent — full of flavor and very well prepared. The service was a bit slow; even with a reservation, we had to wait longer than expected. That said, the space is beautiful and very well decorated, making for a lovely dining atmosphere. Overall, still a very enjoyable experience!

Very kind service staff and the space was beautiful! I will say while the food was tasty we did have better Morrococan food in many other spots BUT you’re paying for the beautiful fine dining atmosphere and service. Service started super slow and then picked up. Portions are small so you can try more. We loved the fried sambusa platter to start. The camel meatballs are a gimmick, not spectacular but it provides a great story to tell friends. On the gamey side. The lamb tagine was a standout, yum!! So tender and flavorful. The tarte atatin was underwhelming. No alcohol is served here but there are tasty mocktails. Tables and chairs are so low so tall diners like us, heads up! Hidden beyond the chaos in the center of the Medina, very mysterious:)

We decided to follow the recommendation of our hotel reception to Dar Baraka and it was more than what we anticipated. We entered a narrow door which opened up a beautiful restaurant with stunning paintings. As we were not really hungry, we ordered the mezze and chicken tagine to share which was absolutely delicious. Our mezze had different types of vegetables which we have not tried and it was really interesting. A real underrated gem of a restaurant.

His kindness set the tone for the night. The setting is absolutely charming, peaceful and intimate — I can imagine it's perfect for a romantic dinner. As for the food, I really appreciated the chance to try traditional Moroccan dishes I had never tasted before: briouates, chicken pastilla, and the jawhara dessert. Even if some of the flavors weren’t exactly my type, I could tell the quality was there, especially in the pastilla. It’s great to discover something new in such a beautiful place. All in all, a special experience with attentive service, a magical setting, and the joy of discovering Moroccan culinary traditions.

I was quite disappointed. The food was very average, the prices were high, and the waiting time was extremely long even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. Definitely not worth it.

Moroccan restaurant
Tucked away in the serene Bab Taghzout neighborhood, Limoni is a hidden gem adored by locals and expats seeking authentic Italian cuisine with a modern Moroccan twist. Housed in a renovated riad, the restaurant's tiled courtyard boasts fountains, mosaics, and fragrant lemon trees, creating an idyllic setting for romantic alfresco dining.
Beautiful place with amazing pizza! Limoni is a hidden gem in the heart of Marrakesh. The setting is absolutely beautiful – calm, green, and full of charm. We had pizza and it was fantastic – perfectly baked, flavorful, and made with quality ingredients. The staff were very friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere throughout our visit. Another plus: card payments are accepted, which is very convenient. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great Italian food in a peaceful courtyard setting!

From the outside, this place looks incredibly plain—so much so that you might walk right past it without giving it a second glance. But step through the doors, and you're in for a surprise. Inside opens up into a spacious dining area, complete with a lovely courtyard-like setting that feels both relaxed and inviting. The food was absolutely lovely—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was easily a 10/10. The staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. A big bonus: it’s very child-friendly. High chairs were available, the staff were great with kids, and the relaxed atmosphere made dining with little ones a breeze. Highly recommend giving this hidden gem a try!

Excellent. A lovely interior garden providing calm and quiet from the bustling Medina just a stone throw away — serving great food throughout. All dishes served were of great quality, fresh made and only with local ingredients. Each of the tagine had its own bath of flavours for the taste buds, and is served swearing hot. Service has been outstanding, super friendly and welcoming.

The best meal we’ve had in Marrakech so far! The rooftop terrace was lovely, the service was so attentive and quick. Food was really good quality and delicious flavours. The chicken and lemon tajine was outstanding in particular. All the Italian food was delicious too, would highly recommend!!

A beautiful Italian restaurant that also serves traditional Moroccan food. The restaurant is large and the seating is spacious. The food is amazing and that accompanied with friendly staff makes a perfect evening.
Geoff D — Google review
Everything was amazing, the views are stunning and the service is really good… the only problem for me was that my food wasn’t really warm anymore when it arrived (The Spaghetti). Something that can happen, as I know from my own work. It still tasted good tho. The bruschetta was really good! They even sang happy birthday for me which was really sweet.
Maxine — Google review
A good place to take a break from Moroccan food The staff is friendly. It’s better to book in advance, as it was very crowded when we went The pizza dough is well-fermented and crispy. Perhaps the ingredients aren’t top quality and the tomato base isn’t fully cooked down, but I would definitely go back There doesn't seem to be any other Italian cuisine alternative in Marrakech

Limoni was easily the BEST restaurant I visited on my trip to Marrakesh. Beautiful setting, very efficient service, reasonable prices and most importantly, delicious food. I know the menu is split between Italian and Moroccan cuisine, but please trust me when I say, the Moroccan menu is absolutely phenomenal. Focus on ordering from that menu and you can’t go wrong. Do not leave Limoni without trying the chicken tagine - words can’t describe the incredible flavours and ingredients in that dish alone. Truly the highlight of my trip.

Cafe
Le grand balcon du café glacier is a must-visit spot in Marrakesh, offering an unparalleled view of the lively Jemaa el-Fnaa Square. Situated in the historic UNESCO-listed medina, this rooftop bar provides comfortable seating and plush cushions for visitors to relax and enjoy the vibrant street performances below. It's the perfect place to savor a delicious mint tea while watching the sunset and taking in the bustling atmosphere of the square.
Forget the overpriced tea: you’re paying for the view. And if you can get here for sunset, even better, as that’s when the square below comes to life. I came back late on too, and sat amongst some local people downstairs, watching the world go by…equally memorable, so worth stopping by.
NickyC67 — Google review
Beware of the 25 DH (2.5 euros) fee per person to enter the terrace. You get a drink with the entry fee (we paid 5 euros for a small mint tea and a small water bottle). No space to sit at a table before sunset, but we managed to get 2 chairs. It got really crowded at sunset time, but the amazing sunset and views to the square was worth the fee.
Leire G — Google review
Think of it only as a viewpoint over the beautiful, busy, and illuminated square. It really has absolutely nothing to do with a restaurant. The staff was unfriendly – you pay €8 for two warm cans that you have to take from the fridge yourself. That’s pretty much all there is to say.
Adam G — Google review
These guys are not honest. We just had a water and a juice. The guy came and said 60 do. I told him to show me the menu with the price. The water was 17 and the juice was 30. Moraccan’s are not upfront and honest with their prices.
Rahmat A — Google review
I had recommendation from the Rough Guide (printed version) to walk up to the terrace. And to watch the busy square from there. Having some nice drink, with it. Indeed, when you walk up, there is sign, ‘that you need to buy drink in order to be seated’. What a bad surprise that the only drinks up there are canned Coke-Sprite-etc from the fridge, by self service. No coffee, no fresh pressed juices (as opposed served on the 1st floor). And the service on the terrace is just horrible. Lazy guys. Shame. Do not recommend.
PAVEL Č — Google review
Me and my wife had the most amazing experience here. The view was fantastic. The service was immaculate, the guys working there went above and beyond to look after my pregnant wife and I. They even invited us to join them for their meal during Ramadan at sunset. 5 stars.
K C — Google review
Absolutely incredible view over jemaa el fna, probably the best as you can see all around. we bought drinks and went up on the terrace at night and it was amazing. The drinks were what you would expect to pay for the best view of jemaa el fna. really recommend going up here especially at night, it's stunning
Scarlett P — Google review
I wouldn’t recommend this café at all. The staff were unfriendly, prices are high for what you get, and to make things worse, the toilets are not free and in poor, dirty condition. The place is constantly disturbed by beggars, which makes it uncomfortable to relax. The rooftop terrace is tiny, and unless you’re lucky enough to get one of the very few front seats, you’ll be stuck far from the actual view over the square. Overall, it’s not worth the visit, there are much better options nearby.

La Famille offers a serene escape from the bustling medina, with its tranquil garden and earthy decor. The restaurant's vegetarian menu features daily changing semolina salads, herb-pesto focaccia pizzas, and fresh pastas. Guests can relax under the lemon trees while enjoying jazz music and browsing the accessories boutique. The restaurant is an ideal spot for a delicious lunch after shopping in the souk, offering a variety of vegetarian dishes as well as modern barbecue kebabs.
Absolutely fantastic dinner in the sweetest atmosphere. Dining in a hidden garden. It was a bit difficult to find before they reopened at 19:30, but once they opened the door you could spot it. The sweetest women running the place with thoughtful presentation of food, very quick service, and creative menu! Don’t expect fancy hi brow dining, but creative twist and seasoning on an excellent daily menu! Wish I could eat here more!

It really is such an exceptional restaurant experience. The all female team are simply wonderful. The food - you can’t beat it. All vegetarian and so full of flavour. Everything from the menu design and dishes to the home made orange blossom lemonade is exceptional and without fault. Best salad I have ever had.

A very hip place in the heart of the Marrakech Medina, with stunning boho-chic design, absolutely superb food and a chilled out atmosphere. Prices were a bit on the higher side for Morocco but not blown out of proportion. The food was well prepared and worth it! They also have a small shop inside, featuring diverse objects with a mix of modern and traditional design. Totally recommend this place!

Tucked away in the heart of the Medina yet pleasantly removed from the hustle and bustle, this cozy restaurant offers a unique dining experience. The set menu allows you to choose a starter, a first course, a main, and a dessert – all vegetarian and all beautifully prepared. The food is excellent, with creative flavor combinations that really stand out. It’s a refreshing change from the typical tourist spots that usually serve only tagine and couscous. Definitely worth a stop!

When exploring the vibrant street food scene of Marrakech, a visit to Mechoui Alley is an absolute must. Nestled just off the bustling Jemaa el Fnaa square, this narrow lane is home to passionate vendors who expertly roast whole lambs on spits for hours. The tantalizing aroma wafts through the air as they baste the meat in rich smen, resulting in tender morsels that practically fall off the bone and feature a delightfully crispy skin.
This place is MADNESS, but worth it for the lamb. If you want to get service, you’ve got to be super aggressive to get the waiters attention 😅 It’s always busy and deserves to be. Lamb is good and tasty. Although, now we’ve tried mechoui in Agadir, we know this place is not giving you exact measurements and cutting you short. We’ve had 1kg in 2 different places, and the portion here is small compared to other places. So be aware, you’re getting smaller portions but paying same prices.

I got mutton's head and the meat was delicious. However, white eating I found two larvae. The waiter said it's fine though Tea was nice
Amir S — Google review
Came on a Friday afternoon and we were lucky as there was no queue. The restaurant was packed though and seats were so close to one another that there were barely any movement space. Noise level was uncomfortable. It was chaotic. Hygiene was an issue. We were shown a table and they just grabbed used paper liners from another table where customers just finished eating to put onto ours. I could see bits of food and oil blotches on the paper liners. Staff were just lazy and wants to make quick money. Ordered their Mechoui lamb and Tangia Marrakchia. Servings were large as it was a lot of meat - a single portion could be shared by two pax. Taste-wise, the dishes were just average fare. The Mechoui lamb was mostly dry and did not have any gaminess on it. It needed the salt and herb seasoning it came with. Otherwise, it was just dry, tasteless meat. The Tangia was slow cooked and came in a pot. Its content were promptly poured into a plate. It looked good, smelled good but the lamb meat was surprisingly dry. I imagined slow cooking would have made the meat tender, but it was dry. Oh well. The dishes were served with bread as per the norm. What irked me was that when they brought a baslet of bread to my table, one of them just partially tipped onto the used paper liner. It was just another day for the server as he just walked off. Ewww. None of us touched the bread, any of them. I would not return. The hype was a letdown. Hygiene questionable. Prices were on the average-high side for the food quality and poor service.

The best lamb in Marrakesh. This place is tucked away in a side street and doesn't look much, but inside are 4 floors packed with locals. Simple menu and setting, but the food is just outstanding. We fought to get the last bite.
Sasha L — Google review
One of the best meat I have eaten! Highly recommended but you have to come early because when you come in the evening you get the last parts of the lamb.
Hüseyin G — Google review
If you want to experience authentic moroccan meat, this is the right place. We had mechaoui and tangia that are cooked in an underground oven so the taste was amazing, the meat melts in your mouth. Must try if you love meat, crave local food and if you don't freak a lot about cleanliness😅

For our last day in marrakesh we tried tanjia at Mechoui and it is not the great tanjia i have ever eat..the quantity is decent but not the best in town
Ghizlane L — Google review
One of the food highlights of Marrakech. There are about three or four floors to sit inside and the top floor has a great view of the mountains so get there slightly early and grab a seat. At the front door in the morning they will be chopping up the freshly baked lambs from the underground oven. They were kind enough to allow me to film the oven which was great. The menu is very simple. They have other items but that’s is sort of against the point of coming here. 1kg of lamb will be enough for two. It comes with a cumin salt and bread. I would recommend getting there early in the day rather than for dinner. I could imagine that the lamb would dry out the longer the day goes. The lamb is a mix of super juicy meat, more fibrous, and fat. Getting a mouthful of all three was so good. For sure you should visit, good price, great taste and within the main market.

Chez Lamine is a Halal restaurant in Marrakech that specializes in lamb dishes. It is located near the main square, and locals often go there for lunch. The food here is excellent and includes crockpots of lamb.
If you’re in the old Medina of Marrakech, Hajj Lamine is a must-try for méchoui lovers. The lamb was cooked to perfection – tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. I went with my friends and we enjoyed every single bite. The sheep head meat was also absolutely delicious, one of the best I’ve ever had. The only small remark is that the service was a bit slow, and we had to wait before being served. But once the food arrived, it was totally worth it. This place has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Marrakech, and I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended for an authentic and unforgettable culinary experience.
Imad A — Google review
Lovely place, lots of locals, with a casual vibe. The lamb is truly excellent, probably the best food we’ve had in Morocco (we’ve tried a variety of places from higher end recommendations to off the beaten track). The lamb was sold out by 15:30, so come early for lunch! Get the lamb, tender, juicy and falling off the bone. Eat with your hands, get messy and then wash them in the sink by the stairs. The lamb took a while to come, be patient. It’s because of how popular it is and they had a back order - locals getting it to takeaway. It’s a must try place.
Jack — Google review
Food is 10 out of 10! If you want to try lamb-go before 1pm. Beef tagine was also the best I have tried in Marrakesh. They have lovely rooftop terrace where you can see olive stalls. However if you are coming in mid day-probably better idea to sit one floor down where is not as hot. Definitely must try place when visiting Marrakesh.
Roma G — Google review
Honestly read some reviews and still went giving it the benefit of the doubt and a recommendation from a guide. And the tangia was tasty, but it was pretty small and not that meaty. For 200 dr, it felt like a rip off when you've been eating so well for decent prices elsewhere. Beyond the mechoui and the tangia, the rest is well priced. The place was fine otherwise, and the flavours were good.
André G — Google review
One of reviewers said everything about this place is great except it is not instagram-able :) I beg to differ on the last point. It is a magnificent authentic very tasty example of local street cuisine though having those underground ovens bake whole lambs for hours does not necessarily qualify as fast food. You do not have to wait this long though :) We recommend lamb - with skin and fat and chicken cooked in the clay pot. And olives - to diversify the flavor. Eat this on the roof floor to fully appreciate the scenery around - in the company of guides who brought their tourist charges over and locals. Loved every minute of it both times we were there. Take a picture of the ovens too - makes for a great story to share.
Rachel L — Google review
Perfectly cooked, soft and crispy at the same time absolutely delicious! The salad was fresh, local and full of authentic flavour. The view over Jemaa El Fna adds a special charm to the whole experience. A true local gem worth visiting for anyone who wants to taste real Moroccan cuisine.
Dr A — Google review
Let’s get this out of the way the service is shitty. You’ll wait. You’ll wave. You’ll wonder if anyone even noticed you walked in. Don’t expect smiles or small talk. This place doesn’t care about that. But then the food arrives and suddenly, none of it matters. The lamb here is something else entirely. Slow roasted, smoky, tender to the bone meat that falls apart with a touch, fat that melts like butter. You taste it and think, Yeah, this is why people put up with it. The place is loud, a little chaotic, full of locals who know better than to complain. It’s not pretty, but it’s real the kind of joint Bourdain would’ve loved, rough service, amazing food, zero pretense. Go for the lamb, not the love. You’ll leave a little frustrated, a little greasy, and completely satisfied.
Duncan — Google review
The food is great service could be better but they are so busy it’s understandable. The mix of morrocans and tourists shows it’s a classic staple. Simple Ingredients the lamb is so tasty with the flavoured salt on the side to dip. Love the salad and the bread great for lunch. Very busy place we went upstairs worth it for the culture to visit.

Our experience was disappointing. The cauliflower cream soup was plain, and while the lamb with vegetables was delicious, we waited over 30 minutes for it. The homemade potatoes were good but definitely not worth 4 euros. The staff was unhelpful when we asked about the delay. The restaurant feels overrated and overpriced, likely due to Instagram hype. Comptoir Darna is a chic, 2-story venue in Marrakech known for its exotic decor and belly dancing shows. It offers a fusion of Moroccan and global cuisine, creating a trendy atmosphere that draws hip locals and visitors alike. The ground-floor restaurant features low lighting, scented candles, and Moroccan lamps, while the menu showcases a blend of Moroccan dishes with international influences.
What an amazing hidden gem! We went for my birthday and didn't regret it. Do book as it gets very busy. The decor and vibe are the best. Feels very Moroccan with decent music to put you in the mood. The staff can't do enough for uou amd always on hand to help. The lighting is low so if like us you are a little older... Do bring your glasses to read the menu! The food and drink are 10/10. We left full but not before catching the belly dancing show which was the icing on the cake. The ladies put on such a show amd made our night. Comptoir Darna is one of those places that truly captures the spirit of Marrakech nightlife. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance is electric — warm lighting, rich Moroccan decor, and music that instantly puts you in a festive mood. The service was excellent; the staff were welcoming, professional, and always attentive without being intrusive. The vibe is what really makes this place special. It’s vibrant, energetic, and full of life. Throughout the evening, there were multiple live performances, including incredible belly dancers, traditional Moroccan musicians, and singers that kept the entire crowd engaged. The performers move around the restaurant, interacting with guests and creating an atmosphere that feels both luxurious and lively. You can’t help but get swept up in the energy — it’s the kind of place that makes you smile without realizing it. As for the food, it was honestly the weakest part of the experience. It wasn’t bad, but quite mediocre and far below the level you’d expect from such an iconic venue. The presentation was nice, but the taste didn’t impress me — I wouldn’t recommend visiting just for the food. However, if you’re looking for an evening filled with entertainment, culture, and a true Moroccan vibe, Comptoir Darna is absolutely worth a visit. Go for the experience, the music, the dancers, and the energy — that’s what makes it memorable.

A Perfect Welcome to Morocco Great Food, Music, and Energy at Comptoir Darna Just landed in Morocco after a long flight all the way from Mexico and was looking for a good place to eat. I came across Comptoir Darna, and it turned out to be the perfect choice! The restaurant has a fun, lively party vibe with amazing music, beautiful decor, and an atmosphere full of energy. I was warmly welcomed by Kaoutar and Ayoub, who were both excellent hosts friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. We sat for dinner on the first floor, where the music from upstairs could still be heard, creating a great vibe without being too loud. The food was absolutely delicious we had the chicken and lamb tajine, both cooked perfectly and full of rich Moroccan flavor. After dinner, we went upstairs to enjoy the party ambiance, with wine, cocktails, and live entertainment that made the night even more special. Overall, Comptoir Darna was an unforgettable experience great food, great service, and amazing energy. Whether you’re just arriving in Morocco or celebrating a special night, this place is a must visit!

What an unforgettable night in Marrakech! The food was absolutely delicious, full of rich flavors and perfectly prepared. Our waiter, Rachid, was beyond amazing — so attentive, kind, and truly made us feel at home. The entertainment was just incredible, with such beautiful dancers bringing so much energy and joy to the evening. Every detail was perfect — I loved everything and can’t recommend this place enough! 🧡🌟

Wonderful, 10/10 place! I was in the bar area in the second floor and the bartender was extremely kind, asked me how I like the drink ln every order. At 20:42ish the belly dancing starts and it was awesome. They danced all around the place regardless of the floor you have been. Must try spot in your trip to Marrakesh!

Le Foundouk is a stylish multilevel restaurant located in Marrakech, known for its elegant rooftop offering panoramic views of the city. The restaurant is housed in a traditional inn in the Medina and features three levels including an elegant bar, an inside restaurant, and the well-known rooftop dining area. With candlelit ambiance and lush greenery, it provides a warm and typical setting for enjoying quality Moroccan cuisine as well as local cocktails and wines.
Amazing Moroccan restaurant with authentic cuisine and a fabulous terrace. The food was full of flavor and tradition, and the staff made the evening feel very special. The atmosphere is charming and warm, making it the perfect choice for a romantic dinner while enjoying the beauty of Marrakesh at night. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a true Moroccan dining experience.

The food is average. Good Tajin but starters are not at the expected level for the price. Small quantities and poor quality. Atmosphere is nice, and we tried a good Moroccan wine. I wouldn’t go back because of the high price, quality of food and slowness in serving, but the restaurant is ok, definitely not a scam.
Emiliano S — Google review
We came for drinks and were advised we had to order either a starter or a dessert as there was a minimum spend. Service was ok, the rooftop had nice views. Food looked nice so would make for a nice spot to have dinner and drinks. However, service has room for improvement.
Omar A — Google review
Sadly the food here was very disappointing. We ordered spring rolls which were cold and slimey very odd texture. Expected them to be served hot and crispy. Meatballs had an odd taste, unfortunately I just ate round them and had a little amount of the spaghetti. Staff were lovely but it was very slow service and food did take a very long time

Hidden gem up past the Spice market, the food and service are excellent and it serves alcohol with a great wine and cocktail list. Highly recommend and if you want to sit on the rooftop terrace you need to phone them

We dined on the rooftop which was beautiful, dimly lit, real candles on tables, great ambiance. The service started out decent but declined near dessert when we waited for about 20 min for the check and had to ask twice. The food was very subpar, I recommend saving the money and eat at a street vendor in the souk! The food was very bland, lacked salt and basic seasoning. The appetizer that has "pistachio chips," they are not chips it's a tiny bit of pistachio crumble & it says multi colored tomatoes but they are just sliced red cherry tomatoes. The main meal with the side of couscous both came out like warm. The creme brulee was good but I don't think it goes well with pear sorbet right on top which defeats the purpose of a crunchy sugar crust on a creme brulee.

Rooftop dining experience in what used to be a riad turned into a restaurant. Very expensive food for Marrakesh standards and wasn't quite worth the price. The tangia was good although quite small and the tomato and goat cheese appetizer was quite disappointing. Service was quick to take orders but very little follow up and long time to get the check. I would eat elsewhere in the future.

Reserved a table in advance, place wasn’t very busy. It’s one of the more fancy restaurants. The food was okay but nothing special. You could probably get the same for less money elsewhere.

The Grand Café de la Poste is a classic establishment that has been serving traditional favorites since the 1920s. The restaurant offers a mix of old-fashioned dishes like plump Dakhla oysters and steak tartare, as well as more contemporary options such as duck foie with cardamom-spiked pear confit. The ambiance reflects colonial Morocco, and the menu features French cuisine prepared by both French and Moroccan chefs.
This is such a lovely place for drinks, coffee or a meal. The location is perfect for those staying in the newer part of town and the service is very kind. We had some excellent wine, and an onion and anchovy tart, which was absolutely delicious. The Gueliz neighborhood s a lovely departure from the chaos of the Medina. Many famous people have enjoyed spending time at this cafe including Winston Churchill, Jean Paul Sartre and Yves Saint Laurent, and I can see why they loved it. Every detail is considered from the terrace to the bathrooms. It is understated but elegant.

Great place, great food, great music! Looks deceptively dingy from the outside but don’t let that fool you - the inside is elegant and refined. Food is amazing and we caught a jazz set that perfectly meshed with the whole vibe. Heartfelt recommendation!

Lovely building. We seated inside for dinner to enjoy the beautiful architecture and atmosphere. Sweeping staircase. Waiter was excellent, very attentive and friendly. We started the evening with some Spritz which were very refreshing, moving on to one of the half bottles of wine. Shared a camembert, bread was included. Then a salmon main and calamari main, both excellent. The millefeuille was equally excellent, and the grand marnier soufflé was light and tasty. Very enjoyable evening.
Keith W — Google review
Nice setting and great service, but the food is way too expensive for what it is. We went there fore just a light lunch, since we had big plans for dinner. We got the heirloom tomato salad and the grilled monkfish with curry sauce. The tomatos tasted like good supermarket tomatoes, but for the price, they should have been way better. The monkfish was cooked just right, but the sauce lacked flavor, and again, for the price it was quite expensive. I think this might be better suited for a coffee and a pastry rather than lunch.
Fuad T — Google review
We had an early dinner, so the place was busy without being crowded. It was filling up as we left, just after 8.30pm. There's not a huge vegetarian choice, so we had a couple of starters plus sides to make up a meal. The food was tasty, well presented & good value. We had burrata plus the roasted camembert, so a bit cheesy, but very enjoyable. The building is great & the service was good. My wife reports that the toilets were spotless! We're planning to go back as it was a great experience.

We'd heard a lot about this cafe and finally decided to visit it with friends after three years of living in Marrakech, we were very disappointed with the quality of service here. The waiters and hostess showed absolutely no friendliness, hospitality, or attention to us,guests. Between the three of us, we spent almost 1,400 dirhams, including an extra drink. In the photo: salmon tartare (5/10) was off-putting due to the fish's texture; beef tartare (7/10) didn't have enough flavor; duck leg confit (8/10) was sooooo fatty. I liked the interior; I didn't expect it to be so nice, but the service ruined everything. We were there on October 17, 2025.

Incredible little spot tucked away in the narrow streets of Marrakech! My husband and I ordered the beef tangia, vegetarian pastilla and the Moroccan pastries for dessert! While the food was certainly delightful, the service was especially great. Would 1000% recommend to anyone feeling peckish in Marrakech!

I wanted to try the pastilla de pigeon (pigeon pastilla), and it was an incredible experience. An exceptional dish, complemented by the excellent atmosphere of the restaurant (hidden away from the main street) but clean and well cared for in every detail). I was served by Naji, a cheerful, kind and competent waiter. 5 stars, well deserved!
Francesco D — Google review
Absolutely smashing meal. We came here because we were looking for an authentic Moroccan meal and had read various raving reviews. Pictured: Chicken tagine - stunning 10/10. Chicken was falling off the bone accompanied by a rich nutty sauce. *hype warning* second pictured is the seafood pastilla - if i’m honest we were a little sceptical, but this blew us out of the water. Fish was succulent, definitely had some crab in there- each morsel swimming down the tongue into the depths of our grateful bellies. 100/10 would recommend. Also shout out to our fabulous guy BADR. Service was fab.

The food here is insanely delicious. We had the vegetable couscous and vegetable tagine, which were both delicious and flavoured differently from each other. So tasty! It is also very reasonably priced here - it is off the main street so less touristy and more authentic. Our waiter Naji was an absolute delight.

Exceptionally happy that we choose this place. Really good authentic moroccan food. We love everything. The harira soup could be better tho, but others which we ordered, suoer happy with them. Price is reasonable, service is great. Waiting time is short.

The most enjoyable meal on all counts I've had in Marrakech. It's tucked away off the street , and entering it is a lovely experience as it's warm and bright and colorful. Up the steep stairs and we were seated in the balcony overlooking the first floor , and entertained by the adorable birds who are resident there. The menu is simple and compelling. I was not too hungry so I limited myself to the harira soup (very good) and the chicken tagline, lemon chicken (really outstanding -- the best meat I've had yet, the lemon was completely infused in the chicken) and the desserts were perfect. I try not to order the dessert but I'm glad I did, they were perfect. We were served with grace, humor and precision by Badr. It was a wonderful experience , and the value was excellent, we spent about 120 MAD per person, so it was certainly the best value . The only sour note is the captain, she seems like she hates her job and is a real downer in an upbeat place, make you feel u welcome

Kosybar Marrakech is a trendy rooftop bar and cultural hub located in the heart of the medina. It's known for celebrating Marrakech's thriving arts scene by hosting exhibitions featuring local artists. The bar offers a laid-back atmosphere with colorful Moroccan-inspired decor, potted plants, and hanging vines. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of the Medina and unforgettable sunsets from the terrace.
Aziz is such a wonderful server! This place is very cute, perfect for the sunset, come half hour before sunset time and sit on the rooftop. Very nice ambiance and serves cocktails and alcohol which is rare at most places in Marrakech as drinking is not very popular to the public.

Came for a light lunch, the food was delicious and the view was amazing too. They had a range of both non alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. We had the starters which were delicious, but quite small. I think it was quite expensive but all in all a lovely place.
Sophie A — Google review
We were recommended by the owners of Riad Anika (who do not sell alcohol) where we staying in Marrakesh that if we wanted to have a drink to go to Kosybar…. what a result!! This place was a highlight of our Marrakesh adventure. It doesn’t look much from the ground, but once you enter you are in a world of cool vibes.. they have gentle music playing on all floors and the rooftop bar offers spectacular view across old Marrakesh. The third floor bar is more shaded and has misting sprays and the capacity for a large bunch of people which look equally happy to have discovered the place as we did. Really friendly staff, lovely surroundings superb food which is a fusion mix of local and European food. We had most of the things on the menu during our stay and there was not a bad choice!! If you go to Marrakesh, make sure you go to Kozybar!

BEWARE! They have different menus with different prices. Was told I had to get beef or pizza before 7pm (it was 6:40) The food was OK and the portions are smaller than other places. They accepted card however so I will unfortunately return.

We didn’t have very high expectations as this is a very touristic spot in the middle of the square but we’d had coffee here on another day and it was lovely, so we thought we’d give it a go. We were more disappointed than we thought we’d be! We ordered the beef skewers and the goats cheese pastries. The beef skewers and rice were lukewarm, the pastries were fine but needed a dipping sauce because I could only taste goats cheese and nothing else on the description. We also ordered a calamari starter but received chicken pastries. We hate sending back food but it was simply inedible and the starter was the wrong order so we did tell the waiter, who took both plates without bothering to apologise. He bought us back the same beef skewer plate 5 mins later and the plate was hot but the food was not - clearly it had been microwaved (this includes the slaw which was also warm) He also bought the calamari which had been microwaved too. So disappointing for 500 dirham so I would avoid!
Janusz A — Google review
On 16th October 2025, we ordered two beers, one Mahou and one Mahou IPA (which costs 10€) along with our food. Later, we asked for two regular Mahou beers, clearly pointing at the bottle of the standard Mahou. When the waiter finally came back around 15 minutes later, he brought one Mahou and one Mahou IPA again. I told him that wasn’t what we ordered, but he pointed at the opened bottle and gestured for us to just keep it instead of changing it. Since we were in a hurry, we decided to drink what he had brought. When it was time to pay, we explained the situation, as we noticed we were charged for two Mahou IPAs, the more expensive ones. The waiter suddenly changed his tone, became rude, and said it wasn’t his fault because another colleague was the one who sent the beers, so we should speak with him. We approached the other waiter and explained the issue in French (as one of us is French), but he pretended not to understand. They then started talking to each other in their native language, and the second waiter just said, “It’s what my colleague said,” in a rude way. As two women, we felt uncomfortable and unsafe, so we just paid and left... This is not the kind of service anyone should experience. I felt pressured and deceived into paying for a drink I didn’t order and one that costs more than the one I asked for. Even if it was a misunderstanding, when a customer says the order is wrong, the right thing to do is to replace it. And if the beer was already opened, they should at least charge the correct (lower) price. We were polite, clear about our order, and even tried to explain calmly at the end. The staff, instead of taking responsibility, doubled down and that’s the real issue. It was not the money. Here’s the thing: mistakes happen. But how a place handles them shows everything about its ethics and training. Leaving this review so others are aware and don’t get misled. The rooftop view is nice, but there are plenty of better spots in Marrakech with far more honest service. This is my second time in Marrakech, and nothing like this has ever happened before. We do not recommend this place and will not be coming back.
Estefânia R — Google review
Good rooftop bar. The medina love cocktail was especially tasty. We didn’t get any alcohol but you could, if you wanted. Obviously not cheap, but it’s a rooftop bar so that’s expected. Good live music really adding to the atmosphere

I feel that the other 1-star reviews don’t do this place justice. If you know what to expect before arriving here, you won’t be disappointed. Being from the US we ate dinner at opening time, but most people arrived around 8-9. There’s live music performed by different groups and the ambiance was superb. Very romantic and elegant vibe. The service was phenomenal—all the service staff were very attentive. Ismael and nabil were our server and they even threw in a little surprise for us at the end for my husband’s birthday. We were recommended to try this restaurant, and it exceeded all expectations. The food was the best we’ve had on our trip, and the setting was absolutely stunning. The staff, especially Nabil, were incredibly attentive, taking the time to explain each dish in detail. La Trattoria in Marrakech is a hidden gem and one of the city’s most beautiful dining spots. The ambiance is absolutely stunning — elegant, romantic, and centered around a serene pool surrounded by lush plants and warm lighting. We ordered the burrata salad, seafood and fish dish, truffle pasta, and ended with a tiramisu dessert — each plate was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The truffle pasta was creamy and rich, the seafood perfectly cooked, and the dessert was the perfect sweet finish. Service was attentive and professional, matching the upscale yet relaxed vibe of the restaurant. Whether for a romantic dinner or a special occasion, La Trattoria is a must-visit for great Italian food in a dreamy Marrakech setting.

La Trattoria – A Magical Blend of Morocco and Art Deco In the heart of New Marrakesh, La Trattoria is an oriental, art deco haven — magical, timeless, and utterly enchanting. From the moment you step through its stunning entrance, you’re transported into a Moroccan paradise. The décor is a delight of intricate lamps, rich textures, and warm hues, leading you through a stylish bar to the pièce de résistance: a serene riad pool shimmering in the center of the restaurant. The vegetarian selection is excellent. Dishes are beautifully presented and full of flavor. We started with a feta cheese salad, baked eggplant, and bruschetta, followed by a variety of pastas — Gamberi, Funghi, and Pesto — all delicious. Service was polite and attentive throughout. It is on the expensive side, but you’re paying for more than a meal — the ambience alone makes it worthwhile. One small note: the lighting is very low, so we found ourselves using our phone torches to read the menu. A truly memorable dining experience in Marrakesh.

This restaurant is absolutely stunning and is in a great location (a few minutes from Plaza Guéliz). I had the ravioli, it was just okay, it could have been a bit more flavourul. The pistachio creme brûlée however, was heavenly And a generous portion. The wait staff are very friendly and attentive.

We had a great experience at this Italian restaurant. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was warm and authentic. The food overall was very good and definitely worth a visit. One thing I wouldn’t recommend, however, is the tiramisu. It lacked the typical coffee and alcohol notes (any kind of aroma instead of real one would have been fine too) that make the dessert so special—without them, it felt more like a chocolate mascarpone cream. Everything else we tried was delicious, so I’d simply skip that particular dessert. A fun tip: ask the staff to take a photo for you. They know the best angles and lighting, and the pictures turn out far better than when you try yourself!

Located south of Jemaa el-Fnaa, Henna Art Cafe is a popular family lunch spot in Marrakech. Kids can choose natural plant-based henna designs while enjoying juices, vegan wraps, and salads. The cafe also offers a serene escape from the city's hustle and bustle with its health food diner, gift shop, art gallery, roof terraces, and a henna art school where visitors can observe artists at work.
Lovely roof top restaurant right on the main market street but you feel hidden away. The rooftop itself you don’t have any views but there is a lovely breeze and it’s peaceful. There is a wide selection of vegan and veggie foods and really good prices. We only visited on our last day and we wish we had found it earlier. I will come back if i visit Marrakech again. The service is good and very polite staff.

The food was good, lots of vegetarian options. The henna was well made and lasted two weeks, but I really thought the owner was milking it and charging the tourist a super high price for quick henna. But that's my opinion. The rooftop is boring, can't see anything. Not that much of a vibe at all

Nice place, closed to Jemaa El Fna, the main square in Marrakech. I went there just for henna service. The service is really fast, accurate, and they have a lot of different designs to do with with henna. They use just original henna, brown red. Recommended at 100%.

Cool art cafe with rooftop seating. The first floor is the henna studio, where women are ready to create tattoos. The second floor is the cafe with a menu with vegetarian and vegan options including Moroccan dishes. I had the vegan sandwich but replaced the bread for lentil crepes at no extra charge. The crepes are thick and very filling. The sandwich included houmous, lettuce, tomato, cucumber and avocado. I was surprised by how big it was (no idea if it's the same size when served on bread). There was a dressing on the salad and the staff also provided salt, pepper and cumin(?) on the table along with a free portion of bread and olives. This really was great value for money, I couldn't finish the sandwich and didn't even touch the bread. My bill for food and a drink was just 95dirhams!

I had a great experience! Aicha was the one who did my henna, she was super calm and nice. She only had to look at the design I chose once and then she did it fast and perfectly, it was impressive. I paid 165 for mine. There are many more affordable and more expensive designs. I did it around 19h so I slept with mine on. Nestled in the vibrant metalworkers souk, Earth Café is hard to miss with its eye-catching signpost guiding veggie lovers down a charming alleyway. This funky diner embraces a farm-to-table ethos, offering an exclusively vegetarian and vegan menu crafted in an open kitchen that welcomes diners at the entrance.
We just tried the vegan meals, all were individually spiced and increadible good in its own way!!! (Especially meal no. 7) A fantastic option for vegans, even coffee and chocolate with soymilk are delicous! Apple-Tarte was also very good, the brownie was with Mandarine and a bit dry... We went there 3 times because it was so tasty (3 non-vegans, 1 vegan) really recommend it to vegans and also non-vegans!!!
Lis R — Google review
All the vegan food we ordered had the same veggies and the same spices. Least fav food in Marrakech. I was disappointed as I had heard good things. Perhaps I need to go again and try something else. Also, the stairs to upstairs sitting are very steep.
Bhavini V — Google review
Vegetarian and vegan restaurant a short walk from the main market Square. Gluten free options available. Order from the menu written on a giant mirror downstairs then either sit downstairs or head up the narrow staircase to the brightly coloured roof terrace. Food was vary tasty and filling.

Really delicious, cheap vegan food in large portions. Everything on the menu is 60 MAD and the fresh juices are 20 MAD... so you get an awesome meal with a drink for ~$7. Staff is also super friendly and the location has a nice view of the plaza in front.

Few options but with a great presentation and taste. I also had an iced soya choc that is delicious and refreshing for the hot weather we got in Marrakech. My order was number 2 and it is made of pumpkin with a strong taste of garlic, if you like that.
João L — Google review
Small but nice place serving really delicious vegan/vegetarian food at really affordable prices. Some dishes contained lots of garlic but were super delicious.

This was my favorite restaurant in Marrakech because I finally tasted the flavors I had heard and read about. I ordered the warm veggie and goat cheese salad, which was fantastic and my friend had the lentil and rice vegan dish. The apple tart was great, too.

Incredibly lovely staff. After getting lost in the medina and in need of a break, i kept stumbling upon sign on the wall the direction to Earth Cafe. So glad I decided to follow the sign. Even though I am only ordering drink, the staff still ask if I would like a rooftop seat. And upon showing me to my seat, she automatically asked if I need the wifi. Definitely a good place to chill and escape from the chaotic medina.

La Table du Riad is an exclusive restaurant located within the luxurious boutique Riad 72. The dinner is served in the main front courtyard, surrounded by plush palms and calming music. The menu features hand-rolled couscous and meshoui dishes, all freshly made with great attention to detail. The romantic atmosphere of the beautiful Riad jungle-like garden makes it perfect for a special evening.
We stayed in the Riad for 3 days and we had dinner on our first night and also lunch on day. Both times on the rooftop. We loved every meal. Service is outstanding and food quality / presentation very good. ( maybe some unusual/colorful plates etc would enhance the experience). Portions are good , particularly lunch which was excellent value. My only negative point is no alcohol which I wasn't told when booking riad or restaurant as website said alcohol served. I believe the restaurant is to be renamed from looking at website but I'm sure the high review will still be relevant. See also my 5 star review for the Riad itself.

So glad I found this place! Chilling at the roof top bar before was relaxing... Then to the actual dining area which is very lovely and exotic. Food is full of flavour and well prepared (especially the starters). And the waitress was soooo nice and smiley. 10/10 experience 💕

Highlight of our holiday in Marrakech. We couldn't find the entrance at first because it was a dense door in a quiet alley.. but after a boy showed us the way, we entered a beautiful secret of the city. Maghrib had started, so the restaurant wasn't open yet. A friendly waiter took us to the rooftop with a beautiful view. We asked him a question about Ramadan, and he talked about it with great enthusiasm. After that, we had a wonderful meal in the restaurant. We were escorted out by an employee with whom we had a super nice conversation. We really enjoyed our conversation. Dear owners of Risd 72, you have fantastic employees. 🙏🏾 Ps. The Tiramisu is truly a piece of heaven!!

Excellent food, great ambience, friendly service who even helped sort us taxis and entry to a club we wanted to go to later in the night. Drinks were good here too (they do serve alcohol). Booked in advance and then had to change the time last minute - they were completely fine with this which was very helpful.

What an amazing place to have dinner in Marrakech. Everything was perfection, from the atmosphere to the service to the food to the wines 5 stars all around. Reasonably prices, too.
Patrick B — Google review
Beautiful ambience, rooftop bar - I think one of the most beautiful ones I’ve seen this week in Marrakech, especially for sunset - then when you go down for dinner you feel like a princess(prince) how they treat you and food quality it’s sincerely great! Our waiter was Yassin and he was really focused on all the small details making in my case my pre-birthday dinner with my best friend a great experience! As a tip, I recommend from the dessert card the lemon shortbread cake with fresh raspberry’s.

La Table du Riad is hands down one of the most spectacular dining experiences in Marrakech. From the splendid courtyard, to the elegant and moody indoor dining room, La Table du Riad continues to rank at the top of my list for dining in Marrakech. From the moment you are seated at your table, the service and care provided is done with the utmost attention to detail. The wait staff are attentive and professional without being intrusive. The food is classic Moroccan with a twist. The briouates, briouates 2020, and the lamb Tangia are some of my favorites from the menu. The food is of the highest quality and completely made with love and care. The briouates 2020 are a neat take on the classic briouates (scallop, tuna and shrimp). If you are looking for a stellar night out in Marrakech, look no further. Even the breads, spreads, and Moroccan salads are done perfectly. Everything at La Table du Riad will make you feel like a King or Queen. La Table du Riad lives up to the expectations every time. I cannot wait to return to Marrakech and frequent La Table du Riad for my dining. *they recently added an amazing bar where you can enjoy a drink or tea before or after dining.

Fine Mama, located in Marrakech Medina near Koutoubia Mosque, is a vibrant Moroccan and Lebanese cafe restaurant offering a diverse menu including breakfast, milkshakes, crepes, sandwiches, tanginess and couscous. It's known for its family-friendly atmosphere and varied menu catering to different dietary preferences with vegetarian and vegan options available.
The food here is so good! I had the soup to start off with and it was a hearty flavourful soup. Then the Lamb Tagine for my main course, the dates and roasted nuts added so much flavour to the already tender lamb. Lastly I had the Speculoos Tiramisu and it was creamy, bits of biscuit and sauce mixed in, a different take on Tiramisu but it was absolutely amazing.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Outstanding Service by Adil at Fine Mama Café I had an amazing experience at Fine Mama Café, and a big part of that was thanks to Adil. He is incredibly professional, attentive, and always greets customers with a warm and welcoming attitude. You can tell he genuinely cares about providing excellent service nothing is ever too much trouble for him. Adil goes above and beyond to make sure everything runs smoothly, and it truly makes a difference in the atmosphere of the café. He’s efficient, friendly, and always carries himself with respect and professionalism. People like him are rare, and he absolutely deserves recognition for his hard work. I truly hope management sees the value he brings to the team he definitely deserves a promotion! Thank you, Adil, for making every visit so enjoyable. I’ll definitely be back!

Crazy prices.. it is not Paris and the service is far away you could wish for. How can a frapoe cost nearly like 60 Dirham? The place is cozy but the food is average. Be sure to check your bill.. I got 2 dishes I did not order.. the waiter was angry on me because I explained this. Bad attitude really..

We ordered late lunch, Tajin and coscos royal dish. The latter was very disappointing-The beef was very tough and veiny and the kofte was dry and tasteless. We enjoyed the lemon ginger drink we ordered and that is why I gave 3 stars which too generous.

10/10 on everything!! i’m writing the review as i’m still sitting here because everything was THAT good!! we arrived at around 7:30pm on a thursday night and we sat immediately, shortly after the “rush” started and more people rolled in but the place didn’t get too hectic. the food was phenomenal, everything was hot and fresh and flavorful! my friend and i got the happy forest iced tea and it was delicious and refreshing on a hot day like today. the service was great, we had a few questions and our waiter, Mouad, was extremely helpful and friendly. we had so much trouble choosing what to eat because everything sounded so good but we ended up getting the “le kefta” wrap and it truly hit the spot. we also got the hummus and falafel appetizer which was amazing. the ambiance was great as well, everything was very clean and it’s a pretty spot to eat a delicious and affordable dinner. we sat inside and it was nice and cool because of air conditioning and they had wifi. with 2 drinks, an appetizer, and 2 wraps (which came with fries) our total was 275MAD which is about $15 a person! once again 10/10 on everything and we’ll definitely be returning to try some of the breakfast food, coffee, and desserts.

Cafe Restaurant Dar L'hssira is a highly regarded eatery in the Medina, offering a variety of traditional Moroccan dishes such as tagine, tanjia, brochette, and couscous. The restaurant is known for its delicious harira soup and authentic Moroccan cuisine at affordable prices. Unlike other touristy spots in the area, this restaurant provides an authentic local experience. Visitors praise the friendly service and generous portions of food.
Everything on internet was accurate. Wonderful rooftop, delicious food. Great portions. I got there at 555 to be safe, already a line. About 10 min wait. Coffee was not too sweet, prices were affordable. Skewer plate was more than I expected, and the beef tajine was delicious. The guy next to me got the Royal tajine and he was raving about it. Sunset too, was a very nice experience.

The restaurant was busy with a line outside, but we only waited around 5 minutes for a table. We first sat on the first floor and were later offered a rooftop table before the food arrived – such a nice touch! Great atmosphere with cozy decor and relaxing music. The staff was friendly and thoughtful, even bringing us two plates so we could share. We had falafel with hummus, Moroccan salad, and mixed skewers – everything was super tasty and plenty for two. Definitely recommend
Zean B — Google review
Café Restaurant Dar L’Hssira is a small but cozy and authentic spot — it really captures that traditional Moroccan charm. We sat indoors at first, and it was quite hot because the AC wasn’t on, which made it a bit uncomfortable. Once they turned it on, it was much better, and overall I enjoyed the atmosphere. The rooftop seating, though, was the real highlight — beautiful view, relaxing vibe, and a great place to enjoy your meal. The food was very good. We started with the harira soup, which was absolutely amazing — flavorful and easily the best I’ve ever had. The chicken bastilla was also good, while the mixed grill was unfortunately quite mediocre and not something I’d recommend. The tajine and couscous were both very tasty, though I did notice the portion of meat in the tajine was smaller than usual. The service was great — the staff were attentive and kind, even if nothing particularly stood out. Overall, I liked the place and would definitely recommend it, especially for the rooftop experience and the delicious harira soup!

Waited for the queue and it was all worth it. We were greeted by a smile from the staff who listed our name. Food was so affordable and so delicious, everything was so worth the wait. I cant thank enough Salem who made sure all we ordered are served, he was kind and very professional.

The tagline and the cous cous royals were ok.. better than most of the food within the Medina, but that is not difficult to achieve. The portions were huge though, and as always the staff were great.

The food is very delicious, the portions are very big. We ended up sharing the Royal Couscous because it was way too much food for one person. The service was good too, however there’s one small problem-at the time we visited they didn’t accept credit cards, cash only.

Small, nicely decorated place with a more creative menu than nearby spots. Service was fast. The falafel sandwich was average, but the ground meat one was tasty. They only accept cash. It looks promising I might try it again.

Best falafel I have ever had! I was surprised that this was this good as it is so close to the square. Highly highly recommend the falafel pita and the coffee was great too. This Restaurant is located at the end of JEMAA EL FNA, the famous square of MARRAKECH. The POLICE HEADQUARTER is located next door. The best of this Restaurant is the location itself. It is the former home of PASHA EL GLAOUI. The Restaurant will be open with Service from 7:30 p.m. We have ordered PASTILLA of/with pidgeons. The taste was good. The preparation was poor. The reason is that I have found plenty of huge bones. See pictures. The cook wasn't willing to remove the bones. The atmosphere and Design inside the rooms and outside is the biggest PLUS of this Restaurant. When it is warm and not raining ( which happens very seldom) you can sit outside. The Service for us was poor . The previous years it was much better. Together with the Vegetable Tajin, one small bottle of water and one Coke we have paid about 300 MAD.
Juergen C — Google review
My friends and I visited this restaurant for a meal. It appears to be a typical tourist destination. As evident from the menu, they accept euros. However, the quality of the food was mediocre. The entertainment was excessively loud and repetitive. If you seek tranquility, this restaurant is certainly not the ideal choice. After an hour, my friends and I departed. I ordered the chicken tagair, which was unfortunately burnt. We waited approximately 40 minutes for our food, and at one point, my mates order was overlooked. He repeatedly requested that his food be brought, but the staff consistently failed to do so. The carrots served contained an orange tint, which was unpleasant to taste. My mates chips were also undercooked, as evidenced by the photographs. The atmosphere was generally okay, and towards the end, the staff attempted to impose a service charge or a tip. None of us felt inclined to provide a tip, as we believe that the restaurant should improve its food quality. We would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and regret having visited it.

Beautiful and elegant restaurant in the heart of the medina. Excellently decorated with a stunning aesthetic. We went for lunch and seated in the middle open area full of nature and colour. The decor was very Moroccan as expected. The service was friendly and the food came in good time. The food was delicious with good portion sizes. And all beautifully presented. Overall a very nice experience, I recommend it here

I had a great time at the restaurant El Baraka. Not only was the food delicious—I had a meat tagine with plums—but the Moroccan salads were very tasty too. It’s very hard to find 100% authentic Moroccan food in Marrakesh, and at El Baraka I was finally able to show my friend, who came from abroad, the true taste of Moroccan cuisine.

We came here for our first dinner in Marrakech and it was exceptional. We started with a nice drink on the rooftop before enjoying the great dinner. We started out with a variety of traditional salads before receiving the main dishes of chicken tajine and beef tajine. Everything was very good and very flavorful. They also had love music and belly dancing which was a nice touch but the standout was the amazing food. This is located directly next to the main square and the police station. All of the staff were very nice and helpful.

Chicken tagine with olives & vegetable couscous is delicious.. The chicken was the breast as opposed to the thigh and drum.. the only problem was when I didn't finish my food and wanted to take it to go they said I couldn't take it! So if you do decide to eat here make sure you come with an appetite so you eat all of your meal

Le Tobsil is a hidden gem in the bustling streets of Marrakech's Medina, offering a dining experience that harks back to the opulence of Moroccan pashas. The restaurant, set in an old palace, exudes romance with its stone arches, white tablecloths, and candlelit ambiance. Chef Fatima Mountassamim curates a unique set menu for each day of the week using fresh market ingredients and traditional Moroccan flavors.
Amazing experience. They offer set menu - 6 courses Moroccan cuisine plus 1/2 bottle of wine per person for 60 euro. Authentic gnaoua music and dance performance by two musicians. It is housed in a beautiful old riad and all candle lights. Very romantic and atmospheric.

This is a very nice place for a multi course meal with entertainment. The entertainment was sounded very repetitive. The first course with many small plates of food was very good. It was followed by a tagine and a desert. It was a set price menu that included a bottle of wine. Expect to spend at least a couple of hours or more here. Food was nice prepared and presented.
E C — Google review
This is not an easy place to find, just a discrete brass plaque marks the entrance and you must knock to be let in. But once in you can't fail to be enchanted by the lovely ambience. I was prepared for the extensive fixed menu so didn't eat lunch. The cost is 650MAD per person and for that you get:- Your choice of Aperitif with olives Bottle of wine 8 meze starters (vegetarian) Chicken tagine Lamb tagine Couscous with vegetables 2 x deserts Tea or coffee It is a ridiculous amount of food for 1 person and I couldn't eat it all. I'm sure most people would think less food and less cost? But I understand the restaurant is full most evenings so I guess the owner feels they have a winning formula. Service was excellent and there is live music.

Cafe
Mandala Society in Marrakech is a popular spot offering Lebanese salads and vegan burgers at Naranj. It's an ideal place for brunch with its specialty-grade coffee and fantastic menu. The cafe, founded by an Icelandic-Moroccan couple, boasts a colorful mix of Nordic and Moroccan food. Located near Jemaa el-Fna, it's known for its good music and commitment to fair trade, being plastic-free, and running an honest business.
Was in the area and decided to try this cafe out. We found their menu rather thoughtful, with a focus on pescatarian and vegan options. Ordered the gazpacho which was incredibly delicious as the weather has been really hot. Had the salmon burger which came with whole cut fries which was great. Had their iced orange blossom and hibiscus tea which were absolutely refreshing for the summer.

This is a very good place to eat, they have a couple of vegan options. We went here 2 times for dinner and 1 time for breakfast. The vegan bean burger was great, the vegan quesadilla's were very nice (even without the vegan cheese which they do not have although that says so on the menu). And the smoothie bowl.... perfect! Also nice coffee with oat milk. Staff is very friendly an the ambiance is very nice. I am going to miss this place!

The vegan smoothie bowl was tasty! It was nice to be on the rooftop, but the air quality is not great because of the busy traffic in front of the cafe. Staff are kind. The cafe has two bathrooms and both of them are clean! I’d love the cafe to have more vegan options <3

This was the best meal we had in our 6 days in Marrakesh. Lots of vegan and vegi options with reassuring annotation in the menu that they really understand plant based and animal free foods. They do serve Fish but no meat at all. The food was tasty and filling and beautifully presented. The drinks were really good, especially the hibiscus tea. The welcome was warm and the service attentive without being intrusive. It felt and looked clean which so many other places we went did not. I wish we had discovered this place sooner as we would have liked to go back to eat here.

Loved this place! Have been struggling a bit with food on this holiday as I am fussy and this was so so nice! I got the quesadilla and a side of eggs and toast for brunch and went back the following morning for breakfast and got the bruschetta with roasted peppers etc. Desserts were also lovely! Rooftop is beautiful!

Takeout Restaurant
The best restaurant in Marrakech has been the snack grand Atlas, which is located at least 300 meters from the Jemaa El Fna square. The food is fresh, affordable, and of high quality - perfect for a quick meal. They also have free wifi and outdoor seating - perfect for a sunny day.
Mainly a seafood restaurant. Love the deep-fried seafood! You can try different kinds of fish all in one go. However if you don’t like bones, go for the fish fillet ones. The tagine is quite salty, especially the chicken ones. Love the mint tea pouring interaction!
Lulu L — Google review
Super, very tasteful food. A must go really! And the prices are really great. The owner is very friendly.

I had paella, and it was quite good. The place was not too crowded, so I could enjoy my meal in a relaxed atmosphere
쿠쿠쿠키키키 — Google review
Very delicious food at such price, especially the mixed fried seafood, really a big size, and sardine meatball tagine. The owner also served us with the Morocco tea for free. Really a surprise and a nice meal.
Hang L — Google review
We found this place on the first day in Marrakech and came here for three days straight. All food we tried (seafood soup, grilled bream, fish tajine, grilled swordfish, paella for 1 person, fish kebabs, grilled saint stone fish, grand atlas salad) was delicious. But especially I would recommend grand atlas salad (perfect combination of tuna, squid and shrimps), chef’s signature seafood soup (very thick and full filling), paella (a lot of saffron and other not usual spices) and fish kebabs (fish is not dry at all, very tender).
Gab T — Google review
Food were fairly priced and big servings. Staffs were all friendly and polite. Will recommend to anyone who asks where to eat!

I had a cool experience at Restaurant Snack Grand Atlas. The staff were welcoming and friendly, which made the visit enjoyable right from the start. The wait time for the main dish was around 15–20 minutes, which is quite reasonable. I started with their seafood soup, which they have mentionned it as their signature dish — it was flavorful and well-balanced, definitely worth trying. I also ordered a Niçoise salad, which was fresh, clean, and nicely presented. For the main course, I had a mixed fried seafood platter that included sole, whiting, squid, and shrimp. The overall quality was good and tasty. The only small downside was the shrimp, which was a bit rubbery or too soft, possibly not very fresh . Overall, medium value for money, friendly staff, and good seafood dishes. I’d happily come back and recommend it to anyone looking for a casual, affordable seafood spot in Marrakech.

Escape from the markets to this French-owned cafe situated above a Berber bookstore in the medina. The establishment offers WiFi, an reasonably priced menu of uncomplicated French and Moroccan dishes, and coffee. You have the option to dine indoors on the cozy surrounding couch or outdoors on the rooftop with views of the lively markets. Fnaque Berbere is a popular local eatery that serves affordable food. Visitors can enjoy espresso and panini poulet, amongst other options.
I just went to have a tea, but the food looked great. The rooftop was lovely and the service really good. On the way to the terrace you pass by the open kitchen, and it's fascinating to see the lady preparing all the food! The rooftop offers beautiful views of the medina. The lower floor has a bookshop with books about Morocco, Marrakech and their culture.

We ate dinner here and loved it. There is an open kitchen where you can see that all the food is fresh and cooked at the spot. Atmosphere is nice, 5 minute walk from the main square. Prices are good for the quality you get.
Matthias V — Google review
I didn’t have high expectations for this place because we just happened to run into it while walking around. However, this is by far one of the top restaurants we’ve been to during our whole trip to Morocco! It was even better than some of the more popular and “trendy” restaurants that have thousands of reviews. I had the chicken rfissa, and it has become one of my favorite meals ever! The chicken was so tender and juicy, and the sauce was flavorful and delicious. I wish they had this in my country. We will definitely be coming back here next time we are in Morocco!

Perfect, people are super nice, and the terrace is a very cool place. The food was delicious. As in so many places in Marrakesh, the structure is maybe not so secure.

Very nice stop in the heart of the medina. The most friendly service we ever had. Excellent food made by the owners. It takes a bit to get served but it is fresh and it is worth the waiting. It is also super cheap for the quality and the location. We loved it ❤️❤️❤️
Sam M — Google review
This café-restaurant is a stone's throw from Jemaa el-Fnaa square yet high prices or aggressive touting are completely absent. I enjoyed a 17 dirham mint tea (there must have been enough to fill my glass five times!) plus a 14 dirham 50 cl bottle of mineral water. I didn't eat but other guests had meals. The café is on the first floor but it also leads to a terrace on the second floor where I leisurely drank my drinks. The staff are professional and the exact opposite of pushy.
David S — Google review
Nice little cafe with small terrance over look. Slightly away from the madness of the main Medina square but you still get the feel of Marrakesh. The server spoke French. Nice crepe and mint tea. It was a good break from the souks and the people

Le Petit Cornichon is a charming French bistro located in Gueliz, offering a delightful dining experience. The restaurant features reasonably priced three-course lunch menus with seasonal dishes and an à la carte dinner menu showcasing classic French favorites like steak with béarnaise sauce, fillet of bream in beurre blanc, and rack of lamb. The cuisine is rustic and authentically French, featuring dishes such as ouefs mayonnaise and tongue in cream with capers.
Such an amazing dining expert! I cannot recommend coming here enough! The people and service were warm and welcoming! The food was full of flavor, beautifully presented, and showcased Morocco homegrown vegetables and spices while not being specifically traditional. My absolutely favorite dish was the tomato tart!

This was the experience we needed. For my husband who is a wine buyer back in London and myself a big foodie this ticked all the boxes. The staff were incredibly friendly, the wine list perfectly balanced with interesting and traditional wines. We went for the set menu but were not disappointed. I would highly recommend.

Bacha Coffee, located in the old Dar el Bacha palace, offers a unique experience for coffee enthusiasts. With over 200 varieties of roasted coffee from renowned coffee-producing countries, visitors can embark on a global coffee journey. The cafe also serves gourmet pastries like almond/orange blossom croissants and raspberry/fresh mint puffs. Despite potential queues, the cafe's meticulous approach to coffee preparation and its stylish ambiance make it worth the wait.
Beautiful setting and amazing coffee selection so worth the detour. Go early at 9:30am to avoid long queues otherwise expect a two hour wait but you can explore the museum and they will buzz you when your table is ready. The menu is huge, so ask the staff for recommendations based on your taste. Try the croissants, they pair perfectly with the coffee.

This place is magical. It starts with walking through the stunning traditional Moroccan architecture of the early 19s, lifting up you spirit, and relaxing your mind with the beautiful colors of the Moroccan cultural heritage, leading your soul to the exceptional coffee shop. The menu has a variety of all over the world coffee selection, delicious pastries and other brunch options. The servers take the time to explain the origin of the coffees and their taste, making it easy to find the perfect match for each picky coffee lover like me. The service was excellent but what made our experience even better was the exceptional welcoming of Mehdi (the manager) who made sure that we all have a great time. He was discretely supervising the tables paying attention to each and every detail so everyone could enjoy their time. Thank you Mehdi for attention you gave to my kid, he was really happy. Thank you Dar Bacha for this unforgettable moment and for your great service and personnel, and of course for offering the best coffee we’ve ever had. Definitely recommend this place at least once in a lifetime.

This is a really great place to est and get a coffee but you may need to wait up to two hours. They don't take reservations. You have to pay the entrance to the cafe or you can pay more for the whole museum. It is worth to wait. You can also buy some coproduxcts in their shop. They have good meal deals in their menu.

This really is one of my most favourite places in the world. You may have to wait to get in but it is worth it. While you wait, wander around the beautiful Musée des Confluences. LE KILIM Restaurant Gueliz is a vibrant mix of flavour and style, with dishes that are both Moroccan and cult classics. The restaurant is located in the heart of Gueliz, close to many popular tourist attractions.
Came here for dinner solo this week. Friendly staff, lots of lovely options on the tapas menu. Everything I chose was really tasty and beautifully presented. Really good value for money too. The cocktails were also really good and certainly cheaper than similar restaurants in the Medina. Definitely worth a trip if you're in the Gueliz area.

Great. We’ve had drinks here the other night, and much enjoyed the atmosphere. There’s a nice patio outside and they got open windows with seats next to it — so you can enjoy the outside while on the inside. Cocktail and food menus all looked great. We opted for a local Moroccan red wine, which was a great choice. Dog friendly and service is nice, much liked it!

Came here for dinner with my boyfriend and had some of the best food we have had in Marrakesh at such a reasonable price! All the classic Moroccan dishes with some additional for those who prefer something different. We had a mix of Moroccan starters: hummus, felafel & carrot salad, Tajine & chicken for mains & date cake for desert plus local wine (for only 50 MAD per glass!!!). Cocktails, Beer and soft drinks all on the menu too! Our server Ayoub was exceptional - super attentive & knowledgeable, plus suggested dishes for us to try. One not to miss in Marrakesh, worth leaving the main Medina for!! We will be back next time!

We ordered chicken croquettes, falafel and crispy chicken to share and were pleasantly surprised by how tender the chicken was. Everything about the food was excellent and it wasn't too busy on a Wednesday afternoon. The only downside was the guard standing at the front was very standoff-ish and didn't feel very welcoming towards us when we were walking in or leaving the venue hence the four stars instead of five.

The Le Warner American diner in Marrakesh gives tourists a change from the typical Moroccan food and offers tasty burgers, shakes and hot dogs. The service is polite and English is spoken well.
Truly one of the best burgers I've ever had! Very fresh and tasty and the fries were amazing too. Also loved the authentic American interior. I can highly recommend this diner and will definitely come back if I visit Marrakech again.

Ordered 2 x Cesar salad with chicken & fries to share as per the menu, however he had to send a guy out to the shop down the street for the lettuce. They must have been out of Romaine lettuce at the store as we received normal Kos lettuce, along with some form of processed sandwich meat/baloney slices instead of chicken. The young guy also brought back our two cans of drinks as they didn't seem to have a Coke zero or a Sprite in the restaurant. 🤷🏻‍♂️ The owner was nice to chat to but I'm not sure if the business is running down or hadn't been stocked back up but there seemed to be a few things crossed out as no longer served on the menu. Oh and we didn't see any fries despite ordering them but as we we weren't charged it was probably a miscommunication.
Sean H — Google review
This place looks good but the service sucks. I walked into an empty restaurant and literally had to yell out to find someone to serve me. I ordered the hotdog, the cook in the back took my order who was a teenager, and after a 30 minute wait in a empty restaurant, they served me a half cooked chilli dog! I threw up literally 5 minutes after eating it! Avoid this place unless you want to be sick for a day or two after.

Lovely American diner concept eaterie. We've had dinner and breakfast here. Great choices for the whole family. Value for money. Friendly staff. Clean. Indoor and outdoor area to eat. Unlike other restaurants in the area, this one isn't filled with smokers. They make the perfect English tea here, which we have had every evening. Highly recommend this place.

As an american family looking for comfort food on a Sunday, we were not disappointed from our visit at Le Warner. The restaurant was very busy with almost all tables occupied. The service was friendly, the menu covered all expectations and the food tasted very good. The price value is also wow good as the portion sizes are HUGE. The only downfall was the exceptionally long wait for the children's menu choice of "The Funky" breakfast. It took over 35 minutes to be delivered and by that time, we, the parents, had already finished our meals. Nonetheless we enjoyed our visit and will return.

Sesamo at Royal Mansour Marrakech is a top Italian restaurant in the city, known for its exquisite cuisine crafted by Chef Massimiliano Alajmo. The restaurant has gained recognition as one of the best in the MENA region and offers a luxurious dining experience with high ceilings, original artworks, and elegant decor. Guests praise the excellent service and subtle flavors of each dish, highlighting the professionalism of the staff.
From arrival, excellent, attentive and professional service. I thoroughly enjoyed the 'Apriti Sesamo', a 7 course tasting menu crafted by Massimiliano Alajmo. Throughout the journey, a wide variety of flavours, textures and temperatures. Especially enjoyed the cappuccino, the risotto, and deserts. Was nice to meet chef when he brought me a final surprise. We visited for afternoon tea, which was very reasonably priced compared to London. The setting in the hotel was excellent, although I would say that well could have had slightly more savoury options and less sweet/cake options. Everything was very nice but there was slightly too much sweet for me. I’d recommend if you are visiting Marrakesh, for the experience of visiting this hotel.

A Truly Exquisite Dining Experience at Sesamo – Royal Mansour Marrakech Dining at Sesamo was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I arrived, the ambiance wrapped me in quiet luxury — opulent interiors, candlelit tables, and a refined calm that instantly set the tone for what would become a world-class culinary journey. I selected the Mamma Rita tasting menu, and every single course was a masterpiece — both in presentation and flavor. • The beef carpaccio was delicate and perfectly balanced with wild arugula and balsamic reduction. • The eggplant parmigiana was soul-warming, rich, and comforting — exactly what you’d expect from a recipe passed down through generations. • The spaghetti aglio e olio was deceptively simple yet bold, served with a shot of Virgin Bloody Mary that added a fun modern twist. • The raviolone alla bolognese was a standout: a single large, silky raviolo filled with slow-cooked meat — indulgent and full of depth. • The pea risotto was vibrant, creamy, and fresh, topped with shavings of aged Parmesan. • The chicken Milanese arrived crisp and golden, served with a light mustard foam and fresh greens — the perfect harmony of texture and tang. • A sparkling lemon sorbet cleansed the palate beautifully before dessert. • Finally, the Atlas walnut tiramisu was elegant, airy, and the perfect closing note — a nod to both Italian tradition and Moroccan terroir. The service was graceful and attentive without being overbearing. Every glass was refilled without asking, and the pacing of the meal was flawless. Paired with a bottle of 2019 Castello di Ama San Lorenzo, the evening turned into something truly memorable — a celebration of Italy in the heart of Marrakech. Even the olive oil (Centonze D.O.P.) stood out, as did the petits fours and welcome aperitifs. This was more than a dinner — it was a sensory experience where Italian heart meets Moroccan soul in the most elevated way. Bravo to the entire team at Sesamo. This is a must-visit for any culinary lover visiting Marrakech.
Matthew G — Google review
I am an American traveling through Marrakech and have eaten at hundreds of Italian restaurants across the world. The food at Sesamo is subpar at best. We had 16 different plates and only 2 would we want to eat more. We only ordered the pizza to experience it here in Morocco. The Chef failed at simple dishes such as eggplant parm and ravioli bolognese which tasted like canned Chef Boyardee if you are familiar with it. The chicken Milanese was a fancy fried chicken finger at best. The risotto had no flavor and was very bland. The lobster dish was the highlight along with the pasta with olive oil and red pepper. The tasting menu lets you try many dishes and the chef is trying to do too much. Marrakech has many outstanding restaurants but unfortunately this is not one of them and was our worst meal of our Moroccan trip. I encourage you to find a better Italian restaurant. A few days earlier with ate at “Pepe Nero” near the Medina and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend it over Sesamo. You are paying for the ambience and location….definitely not the food.

Service at Royal Mansour is legendary. We dined at Le Grande Table the night previously which was magical, food, service, seating and atmosphere were flawless. However if you are expecting the same at Sesamo you will be slightly disappointed. We asked for a great table and we were shown to a table outside on the patio which was far too hot, leaves all over the floor and our umbrella, and i had to keep removing ants from my hands, there was a lady breast feeding behind us, so it felt more like a casual place you would go for lunch after visiting the pool. I mentioned i did not like sesame seeds as a garnish and i was served sesame seeds on my salad which they had to replace. We asked to move inside which was much cooler and more of an elegant fitting for dinner. The music should have been solely Italian but was a mixture of irrelevant artists alongside Italian classic's, bearing in mind there are no live musicians/singers as there are at Le Grande Table, so the atmosphere here should be reviewed. We had to ask for our bill and waited 10 minutes for that. On the whole not the experience we were expecting.

Le Studio is a trendy and popular spot in Marrakech, located next to the Yves Saint Laurent Museum. It features an organic cafe inspired by the fashion designer's Paris workspace, adorned with his sketches. The bright yellow tables overlook a cool blue pool, creating a vibrant atmosphere. This lively and contemporary venue offers excellently presented food but allows smoking, which may not appeal to all diners.
One of the best museum restaurants ever! The soup of the day was excellent, also the amazing selection of ice creams and safran cake was so delicious. Amazing ice latte and orange juice. The atmosphere is excellent and calm, the colours in the garden are wonderful and fantastic to escape from a hot day in Marrakech.

Had a lovely lunch here, great atmosphere in a secluded courtyard with nice water feature. Servers were very helpful and attentive. Fantastic hot chocolate, not too sweet, great taste of real, slightly bitter chocolate. Excellent cesser salad. The lemony flavored risotto was a little unusual and rice could have been cooked a little more. Poached pear was a wonderful finish. The meal was only spoiled by two smokers who turned up - it doesn’t matter if they destroyed the clean air for everyone else, pollute our lungs, and destroy your taste, as long as they can satisfy their own nicotine urges. Should be smoke free, especially in such a small area.

This restaurant is a must if you’re visiting the Yves Saint Laurent museum or Jardin majorelle. The Food is delightful and you have the choice of sitting indoors or outdoors beside a small pool and greenery. Staff were also excellent.
Yahya M — Google review
One of the best museum restaurants I have ever been! Was extremely impressed with the quality of the food served, you can tell that the staff there have so much pride in what they make. The service staff were also brilliant, too! If you want a meal or a light bite, then don't hesitate in coming here.

Lovely relaxed cafe for a drink / smoothie, juices / smoothies were 40Dhs - 70Dhs
Cloe A — Google review
What a beautiful, elegant place! The nature embraces you immediately once you are into the patio. From the moment you step into the restaurant, you are greeted with a wonderful welcome and the kindness of the staff. Throughout the service they make sure to be helpful, proactive. The only place in Marrakech where they made sure to serve the ladies first! 👏 👏 👏 The food did not disappoint - from the flavorful, creamy cucumber gaspacho and the spot on ceviche as a starter, to the surprising interesting and unique main dishes. Congratulations to the chef! The prices are not outrageous, I’d say that for the location, quality and the amazing service - worth every penny!

Not sure if this is still Mexican now, as they have chicken rice and tofu rice currently. The atmosphere is very nice, located at poolside of the YSL museum. Service was a bit slow, be expected to wait up to 1 hr for food.
Martin C — Google review
Great casual dining tucked away in the corner of the YSL museum. We found their Vietnamese offering surprisingly good. Especially the rice dishes. Probably cannot get better Asian food in Marakesh! Air conditioning and good ambience a welcome bonus.

Nestled within a charming vintage riad from the 1960s, Le Jardin Restaurant offers an enchanting dining experience that feels like stepping into a secret garden. Surrounded by lush greenery and captivating decor, this spot in the heart of the Medina is perfect for those seeking both romance and tranquility. The restaurant features a delightful pop-up shop upstairs showcasing unique statement pieces crafted from exquisite fabrics by an Algerian designer. Additionally, guests can explore a small fresh vegetable shop on the patio level offering organic produce.
The Atmosphere & Ambience of this place is 5* the staff our friendly and courteous, service was impeccable. Pricey compared to other dining locations in Marrakech but honestly the food was really tasty. I came and enjoyed a light lunch, walked around the garden and had the pleasure of seeing the phenomenal Christmas Decorations in the lobby area of the hotel. Such a beautiful place!

Excellent place. Everything was perfect! Special menu from Brasilian chef. Sublime! So tasty and subtle. Highly recommended if you have the budget. We spent 400€ for 3 with starters, main courses and dessert including wine.
Jean L — Google review
Lovely lunch spot. The food was ok but not in line with their name and prices. A lot of dishes had too much salt, the prawns were a bit mushy and lacked freshness. However the dimsums were great! Staff is well trained and professional. Overall price we paid was 2600 DH. - 1 L water, 1 cocktail, 1 cola - 2 starters 4pc sushi, 4pc dimsums - 3 main: filet mignon, chicken skewers, prawns

Le Jardin at Royal Mansour is certainly a beautiful setting, but the dining experience did not match the reputation or the price tag. The food was average at best and quite overpriced for what was served. The restaurant is advertised as “Asian,” but aside from one or two dishes, the menu is mostly international and does not reflect an authentic Asian concept. Even the atmosphere felt mismatched — instead of complementing the theme, the music was Spanish (either live or recorded), which created more confusion than ambiance. For a place inside such a prestigious hotel, I expected much more consistency between the image, the theme, and the actual experience. Unfortunately, it fell short.

"Had a wonderful experience at Le Jardin! The food was absolutely amazing – full of flavor and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout. I highly recommend stopping by for lunch – you won't be disappointed!"

Booked this on my last night in Marrakech and what a treat! The food was exquisite with excellent customer service. I arrived with an idea of what I was going to order, having looked at the menu online. I scrapped all of that when I was shown the Brazilian menu however. Drink, main (fish wrapped in banana leaf) and dessert were all excellent. So glad I went.

Day pass in this beautiful property. Let me start by saying that service is really top-notch! Big thank you to Abdelmajid and the team- as they make you feel really well taken care of! The property is beautiful - I only would suggest that prior to sending the guest to the pool, they would offer to show it around. Rather me explore by myself at the end. The pool- very nice. The sunbeds are comfy, plenty of space - all in all, nice experience. Did I expect smth a little more taking into account that it is the most expensive pool access in Marrakesh- i guess yes- I did. But was it enjoyable- absolutely! The food in the restaurant was good. Again- top-notch service! I was a little surprised with Asian twist menue vs authentic one- but aubergine starter really highly recommended. My only question was a glass of champagne for 36 euro. It's ok for Ruinart but not for smth unknown. However the local Chardonnay is definitely worth it😊 Overall had a great time! Would for sure come back!

Established in the 1940s by two French ladies who possessed a strong fascination for Moroccan cuisine, Maison Arabe is known for serving the finest Moroccan dishes in an elegant setting. This establishment also features a cooking school where visitors can acquire some of their culinary secrets. Le Restaurant, the upscale Moroccan eatery at La Maison Arabe, has been widely regarded as one of Marrakech's top dining destinations for many years and presents an ideal location for a special dinner.
Wonderful place in the Northwestern part of the Medina with beautiful decor. We had dinner in the Trois Saveures section. The service was great as pretty much everywhere in Marrakech. Our starters, Red Tuna Tartare and Octopus Salad were tasty and flavorful. However, the entrees (main courses) were rather underwhelming. My wife ordered Linguine Al Vongole, but they had only gambas left and the dish lacked flavor (garlic), my lamb was tender, but the mashed potatoes without imagination and too starchy. Very nice and accessible setting with decent food at high prices.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, the service is excellent and the interior decor is awesome. Every room and salon has intricate details. Extremely accommodating, they arranged for guides, cars, and reservations at restaurants whenever asked. They even gave us late checkout and an early check in as the room was available already. The cooking class was also fantastic. Try the beef tajine with caramelized orange.
Merritt G — Google review
Had a wonderful meal out at this restaurant. It was our last night in Marrakesh and we wanted something special. This certainly was. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the food on the menu. The lamb was the best lamb I have had in my life. The atmosphere was calm and elegant. Reasonably priced for the food, excellent service and atmosphere.

Worked from my Riad today and decided to treat myself to lunch. Lovely environment to be in, great food, super service.
Yusuf C — Google review
Excellent food and excellent service. They had the best fish Tajine we have had here. We also got the grilled bass as well as the risotto. The only fault I would note is the rice in the risotto could have been cooked just a little bit longer. This is an upscale restaurant but they won't turn you away based on dress code. Also, they do serve wine here.
Brett G — Google review
We enjoyed luncheon at this beautiful Riad hotel. While the meal was delicious and the setting beautiful, our server was absolutely outstanding. She is most professional and made our experience special. Enjoy this hidden gem.

How is this place under the radar? By far the best Moroccan food I’ve had in my stay in Morocco. Not a single comment, even my Moroccan friends were mesmerized by it. Very very well done!

Grocery store
Market is a unique and iconic destination in Morocco where you can find a variety of shops selling similar items. The traders are known for their assertive sales tactics, so haggling is essential. This vibrant market is renowned for its abundance of fresh fruits, reflecting the region's fertile agricultural landscape. Additionally, visitors can savor delicious local cuisine while exploring the bustling stalls and soaking up the lively atmosphere.
Brilliant place to visit not expensive either

Stinks so hard it will make your eyes watery Everybody tries to scam you, even if you just ask for directions they will threaten you if you don't pay
Uldis — Google review
This market is chaos—in the best way possible. Packed streets, tight turns, and a whole lot of walking. But if you’re chasing real culture, this is where it lives. Every corner’s got something to teach you about Morocco. It’s loud, raw, and alive. Definitely worth the time. Go with curiosity and you’ll leave with perspective.
Navik G — Google review
Lots to see, lots of homemade goods. Good copies. If you enjoy battering this is the place for you. Be wary of scammers
Lee P — Google review
This comes up for search "grocery store near me". It is not. Reason I searched for a grocery store is because this place is full of scams and cheating. To get an honest transaction you must go past the square deep into small alley where food is less expensive but much better and store owners won't scam you like those with merchandise on the square. Watch out for fruit drinks and ask for small size specifically if that's what you want. They literally have only small size displayed on a their big advertisement board ,and you clearly look at that intending to order small, yet these crooks will still give you and charge you for large. Gave extra star only because true fun is in those little hidden streets, but that's not what the photos show.
