This is a lovely piazza to visit with many sculptures surrounding the water and grass area, however there isn't much else to do unless you visit on a market day. We caught the stall holders clearing away on the Saturday evening, so there was a lot of plastic mess around the piazza but it was all clean by the Sunday. You can walk the length of Via Roma towards the Prato delta Valle and also visit the Botanic Gardens and Basilica. If approaching from Via Roma, there is a supermarket on the opposite side of the piazza.

So many statues, and the four bridges! The main square is huge. The basilica is well worth seeing, as is the church to the N (1 block) of the park. FYI, there are some cute 'tourist trap' places along that street for souvenirs!!

Beautiful and epic! Can enjoy sitting or exploring. Great place to gather with friends or family, or to walk/exercise. Perfect time to visit is day or night.

Prato della Valle is a huge square where in summer you can feel like a cutlet on a Teflon frying pan. The place is certainly impressive in size and number of statues, but the sun is so generous here that the only shadow is your own. Yes, it is beautiful, spacious, but it is better to come either at dawn or after sunset, otherwise the walk turns into an express version of an open-air sauna.

One of the largest squares in Italy and home to over 70 statues from important names in the history of the city. However, I do feel that the place is a bit overrated for tourism. The square (and the water) is a bit dirty, a lot of concrete, and there are no signs or plaques with explanations about the statues.

Great central circle with lots of historical significance which doubles as a park. It made for a great starting location to navigate the city.

It was our first stop for the day which might have been a mistake as a tourist. It was nice seeing the local vendors but they were selling produce and since we were traveling, we could not take advantage of their products. I believe it would be different at night when the street vendors are serving food. It would be an excellent place for live music as well. As for the area itself. There is a lot of green space surrounded by water with bridges to cross the water. There are many statues to look at and it was very peaceful when we were there. If I were to return, I would definitely do the evening visit.

Ever since I read Gombrich’s The Story of Art years ago, I had dreamed of visiting this place. Undoubtedly the highlight of our trip to Italy! Impeccably preserved, with lighting at the base that showcases the frescoes in the chapel in the best possible way. Giotto, in the 1300s, is a landmark figure pinned on the grand tapestry of art history, undeniably a medieval genius and at the same time the starting point of the Renaissance. He was among the first to bring architectural frames, outdoor scenery, shadowing, expressions, and natural gestures into his figures. Giotto’s innovations in spatial depth and emotional realism paved the way for Masaccio, and eventually for Da Vinci, Michelangelo and the High Renaissance. What makes the experience even more fascinating is its story: the chapel was commissioned by Enrico Scrovegni as an act of penance for his family’s sins of usury. The only real pity is that each visit is limited to just 15 minutes. Honestly, it feels far too short, so we couldn’t help but want to buy another ticket just to experience it all over again.

Beyond words. Simply the best place there is to visit in the field of art and art history. You get 15 minutes with this unimaginable project that left me in awe. You have to understand the details, the way it was built, laid out, how it was designed and the frescoes were painted in order to understand the importance of this chapel. And that it was made for the people of Padua and visitors to appreciate. That makes it special too. The need for climate control makes every visit a precious experience - remember to be appreciative of the time you get. The guided is a must purchase - afterwards or before. I choose the one by Maria Beatrice Autizi. Giotto is unprecedented. The work of Pisano is equally important. Afterwards you can visit the museum, with a good collection of Greek and Roman sculptures.

What an amazing place and fascinating history. Regardless of whether you are religious or not. The incredible creativity of a man in the 1300's has to be witnessed. The human emotions that have been depicted throughout the chapel are amazing. Highly recommend a visit to this well organised historic site.

The chapel itself was astonishing and breathtaking. There was a short video in air-conditioned room before entering, which provided general info. - Unfortunately, there was not enough time to patiently savour the frescoes, we were rushed out, so I was very dissappointed:( *I know there are many people coming to visit, but I would strongly consider prolonging the visiting time.

Visiting the Cappella degli Scrovegni in Padua was an amazing experience — a compact, powerful space housing Giotto’s masterful fresco cycle that leaves a lasting impression.

Absolute riot of fresco that are staggeringly numerous, detailed and beautiful. Entry strictly controlled and 15 minutes only, so try booking 2 consecutive slots to do this place justice.

Nice square to walk around and have a meal at a reasonable price .

During the day this square is filled with vendors and at night it transforms into an area to enjoy company while sipping on drinks. I really enjoyed the astronomical clock at the one end of the square. We just sat for an hour with our son while he played with other children. Thank you HEX Crypto for maling this trip possible.

A good place for pizza, value for money and prompt service.

No tickets required, but dress appropriately! If you have too much skin showing, they will provide covering to wear for 1 Euro. I was very impressed by that, so no one would be turned away! You can wear shorts and short sleeve shirts for comfort in the heat...just not too short. This magnificent place is a must-see!

The Basilica of St. Anthony is truly my place of strength. Every time I come here, I feel a powerful energy that surrounds and uplifts me. The atmosphere is so unique and deeply spiritual that it’s impossible to leave without feeling renewed and inspired. A must-visit for anyone who wants to experience something beyond the ordinary.

The exterior is a melange of architectural styles, fairly plain brickwork but with Byzantine minarets and domes reminiscent of the Hagia Sophia of Istanbul. Internally it is pure Gothic with wonderful sculptures and artwork. The scale is vast and the ceilings almost disappear into the distance, many covered by netting to catch falling debris. This is a site of pilgrimage for followers of Saint Anthony and there was a line to enter the chapels containing his relics. The lighting is very dim so the architecture is not shown to best advantage but nevertheless the effect is inspiring.

It was a great blessing and goosebumping experience to have a dharhsan at St. Antony's basilica at Padova. One could feel the positive divine vibration the moment enters into the Basilica. Indeed, we spent more time in the Basilica in prayer and meditation. St. Antony of Padova is the patron saint for lost objects. St. Antony of Padova is widely celebrated saint in South India. We had a opportunity to pray at his cemetery, tonsee his unperished tounge and jaw. His incorruptible relic is housed in this basilica.

Due to our ancestral devotion to St. Anthony, my wife and I made a point to visit Padua, and the cathedral here is truly mesmerizing. Having visited Lisbon as well, we were particularly struck by the abundance of St. Anthony’s relics housed in this beautiful church. One of the most magnificent basilicas you will ever see. Its fame rests not only on its architectural beauty but also on the spiritual aura that resides within the basilica. It houses the mortal remains of St Antony of Padua. It also has the relics of more than a dozen other saints including St Pope John Paul II. Catholics from all over the world flock to the Basilica throughout the year. One thing that catches our eyes is the altar that has all the relics.

It’s truly a blessing to visit this marvelous church and meet St. Anthony in prayers. Touching the tomb of St Anthony and attending the daily mass were the highlights of our visit in Padua.

Free entry as part of your ticket to Scrovegni Chapel. It's a big rambling museum with pockets of gold that can be tiring to find. There's a good casual cafe that's worth a visit as a welcome spot to refresh and restore your energy. We were there for an exhibition that seemed to me like C20 guff. The most interesting aspect was the poster.

An excellent collection of finds and excavated material, presented in a reasonably logical way. The museum is traditional, in that it is static with little or no recreation of past local cultures. No visit map or audio guide available. Investment is needed in new museum presentation technology and techniques.

Seriously... Such a big place and NO ENGLISH descriptions. Translating everything on phone is impossible for place this big. Such a shame in a tourists place like Padova! Especially that ticket is super expensive. Also "models", not a real things to see.

Exhibition is very big but all description in Italian so if you do not know the language you will not know what you are seing.

A hidden gem in the Veneto region; this museum boasts minor works of art compared to bigger Venice museums, however they are 1) many, 2) chronologically arranged, 3) very representative of Venetian art in the XVII century!

Not a bad place to spend 20 min waiting to enter the chapel. Has artifacts from the ancient veneti people. Niche but interesting.

What an awesome museum, they have a very unique and large collection of ancient artifacts, antiques, paintings, statues, sculptures and much more. The museums collection is very well preserved and displayed. It’s a very historical, educational and interesting experience. I really enjoyed the time I spent here and I would definitely recommend checking out this wonderful museum and its collection.

This was the perfect experience. Beautiful outside terrace with a view. Nice interior of the restaurant. Very friendly staff. And the food with wine pairing was amazing. I highly recommend this place!

This place was recommended to me by a local as one of their favorite restaurants in Padova. Exforo is located just next to Prato della Valle and Abbazia di Santa Giustina, and you get to see the most beautiful sunset during dinnertime. The staff is very warm and welcoming. I ordered from the tasting menu, and the food was very delicious incorporating local produce. You can consider having aperitivo at the outside area when the weather is good. Definitely recommend and will return!

The terrace is great with azing views over the square. Service was brilliant. The staff helped with food choices and drinks. The food was great. We had a selection of started and mains. Then finished with cafe xo patron!

The best: the Pratto della Valle view. Best time to go would be before the sunset for sure. To make the insta picture pays the overpriced cocktails and food that is served here. The service is really kind, always asking if everything is ok. Cocktails come with small food to eat like taralli, olives and chips. The other appetizers are super super small but good in flavour and quality.

ExForo with its amazing view towards Prato is a modern spot in Padova. Its newly opened tapas bar is a cool meeting spot. Recommended either dinner or aperitivo.

I am writing this review after almost a week thinking that I might be emotional and irrational with my words. But, the fire is still there. I lived in Italy for 6 years and I love the lifestyle and social life of the people. But, for the first time in my 6 year stay, I feel so bad in this bar. My friend and I were enjoying the night in the city center, and around 22:00 we decided to go to the Q bar, it was our first time in this club. As soon as we arrived a lot of people started to pile up and after a while me and my friend were the only people left outside, the body guard was so rude and disrespectful. Even if we were so polite and arrived earlier than the rest, he said there is no place for us because of the reason that I don't want to say, sadly. 😡 That was the time, that I understood why he became a bodyguard while I am working in one of the most respected companies. Since I was unable to get in and see the service in the bar, I have no idea about that, but the guards don't deserve such jobs that require humble behavior. I hope the Q bar owner could see this and take measures to fire them and change with the humble and welcoming people. Anyway, I will never come back again. If you're international tourist or a foreigner, please don't go there, most probably you will endup disappointed before you inter inside the club. Sadly it's truth, you can read similar reviews here. You don’t pay at the entrance but when you leave, Serurity men force you to pay, they even physically move you.. it’s physical abuse. A beer was price 7€ for my friends but 10€ for me because “first drink is 10” 🤡

Went for the 90s night, and the music was pretty good for most of the night but a lot of it wasn’t really 90s. It’s a good space, lots of comfy couches to sit on, but expensive — mandatory $10 for entry and a drink, and $7 for a shot. Also at one point the hosts put on Native American headdresses, and it was such a huge turn off for me and my friends that most of us left. Why the cultural appropriation??? Please educate yourselves and do better.

What’s the point of having a club if you’re just letting in 14 years old,people wearing hoodies..? Worst experience in Padua so far. As soon as they hear that you're not speaking Italian with your friends in line, they lie to your face and say "sorry can’t let you in, we're full", and then they let 15 Italians in in front of your eyes. This is simply xenophobia.

THE WORST BAR EVER! Please guys avoid this bar if you don’t want to ruin your day like me. The bouncer is the worst human being on this earth and he discriminates people on basis of their look. We were tourist and he did not allow us enter. No, doubt they are losing reputation is only because of the security guard who himself looks so unhygienic and black. He is putting the name of bar down and also putting down the name of your country Italy and giving us such bad impression about italian people.

I had the roast beef and it was to die for, but my colleagues ate the pizza and said it was one of the worst they have eaten. Other than that, the music was too loud so speaking was out of the equation, there were even people still eating at that time. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Amazing sea food!!! Highly recommend this place! We loved the food and the stuff! The stuff is so helpful and polite, in a good mood as well! The foos was so tasty that I can't wait to come to Padova again to eat here! The prices are reasonable and the quality of food is like in a most prestigious restaurants! P.S. the olive oil they use is so tasty that we had some bread with that as well and it was great! Amazing! Thank you, it was the best meal we had! ♥️♥️♥️

Their octopus is a must try ! They don't speak English but they run a family business, arrived 12:45 and already there was a queue ! Check the pictures, check the menue and make your order Everything we tried was really good and fresh ... Street food and seafood all in one go is a must try for sure over here. Ps. The fried seafood mix is lovely but wasnt hot , the rest of the food was excellent for the style of serving and eating !

Very nice people and very fresh octopus. We found that cleaning the head part of the octopus would give it a better flavour, but overall definitely worth a visit.

La Folperia has a small outdoor stand in the middle of Palazzo della Ragione. They sell fresh seafood and are famous for their signature folpetti with a green lemon, olive oil, and parsley sauce. The octopus was super tender with just the right amount of chew. It was served with warm toasted bread to mop up the sauce. Delicious, fresh seafood, however, quite pricey.

It was a wet afternoon in August so that might take away the gloss from things. Sell octopus and other seafood- plates sold by weight.

I visited because I found various recommendations on the internet.It was a Friday night and I thought it would be crowded, but I was able to order without waiting. The olive oil, lemon and herbs on the octopus were very harmonious and delicious.If you ever visit Padova, you must try it.

Delicious, traditional, home cooking. If you want to experience real Italian cuisine and eat with locals, this is your place. Hand written menu that I assume changes with varying specialties of prima and secondo options. We had the tortellini with butter, sage, and speck. It was so simple, yet so delicious. Reminded me of my Nonna's cooking. A perfect taste of Padova.

One Bigoli to rule them all... It doesn't get better than this. The authentic Padovan pasta, cooked to a level of al dente perfection I thought was impossible for fresh pasta. And it's super affordable, at 15€. A local, no bullshit, authentic place in Padova - a MUST! Just remember to reserve a table because they're usually packed

The dining experience is truly incredible. The food was absolutely delicious - we had seafood sphagetti, chicken bukatini, tiramisu and pear chocolate cake. Wow 🤩 The service is great as well. Friendly staff and cool ambience. I will definitely recommend this place.

Our visit to Osteria L'Anfora in Padua was exceptional. The evening began with fresh mussels in a delicate white wine sauce, setting a high bar for the night. The mains—spaghetti vongole and rabbit—were outstanding. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the rabbit was tender and flavorful. A classic tiramisu ended the meal on a high note, light and rich with coffee and cocoa. The local white wine we paired with our meal was sensational, enhancing every dish. The service was attentive and fantastic, with friendly staff who clearly love what they do. This popular spot for locals is a true gem. Highly recommended for anyone seeking authentic Italian cuisine and hospitality in Padua.

Amazing place, food and wine were divine. We had the starter platter, seafood, special pasta with mushrooms and salsiccia, and tiramisu for dessert and everything was delicious. Also, great wine selection. The place has a great vibe and it's centrally located.

Big cathedral. White walls, ceiling. Interior is not that rich and special. I was a bit disappointed while visit, couse I've expacted cathedral as in Bologna...

Cathedral is nice but the baptistry is the real show stopper. Make sure not to miss it.

Honestly the cathedral is one of the less interesting churches in the town, but it still has a magical atmosphere and is worth a visit while in Padova. Free entry.

After reading some reviews, I was excited to try this restaurant and it did not let down. We had the raw fish antipasti. The fish and prawns were fresh and the oysters were delicious. The first course with squid ink pasta was the best pasta o have had in a long time. I could not compliment this dish anymore. We also tried the turbot, but unfortunately for us, the fish was dry and the flavour pairings did not agree with our palette. Despite this, I would definitely go back if I’m ever in Padua. The service staff were friendly and attentive which made the evening even better :)

Stumble upon this restaurant while making a pitstop in Padua. The restaurant has been awarded or rather feature in Michelin guide for many years. The wait staff is kind. The food is also great. 1. Crudo seafood of the day. The seafood is fresh and super sweet. Drizzled those with extra virgin olive oil and a pitch of sale, very simple but showcasing how good the seafood is very well. 2. Mixed battered seafood, again great seafood, very crispy. What surprise me is they also serve fish, I don’t see that often. This comes with horseradish mayo which is perfect. Though, I’d love to see a lemon wedge (to add a bit more acid). 3. Mussel and rosemary, very simple and straightforward. 4. Tiramisu, very good. It’s almost like a soft browny with a hint of coffee than tiramisu 5. Mango something, i dont remember exact but there’s mango, coconut. Overall, very refreshing and great to end the meal. Overall, great experience and would love to come back again to try other dishes.

I ordered the 4-course tasting menu and every bite was delicious! My highlight was scallop - tender, creative and fresh. I was surprised how fast was the service considering rather busy evening. They also have a good selection of wines by the glass.

This is my favorite restaurant in Padua. You have to order the spaghetti if you go, but everything on the menu is wonderful. The people who work here are so kind and knowledgeable and go out of your way to make the experience memorable.

Fabulous seafood restaurant hidden away in central Padova. We went on consecutive days & had the tasting menu. The staff were very accommodating & agreed to completely change the menu on the spur of the moment so we could try different dishes. All of the food was subtlety presented & delicious. Fantastic local vino by the glass. A treasured find.

Every time we’ve been here it was an unforgettable experience! We have been 3 times in the last two years (occasionally traveling to Padova) and every time they had a different menu and every dish we ordered was amazing. The staff is also very nice and tolerant to babies and kids, though I didn’t see anyone with a kid except us. A big thank you to the team and we will be back next time we come to Padova!

Pasticceria Graziati in Padova offers a pleasant experience with its quality coffee and freshly baked croissants, both of which are flavorful and satisfying. While the prices are on the higher side compared to other cafes in the city, the central location adds to its appeal. If you’re looking for a spot with a bit of elegance and don’t mind paying a bit more for the convenience and atmosphere, it’s a worthwhile stop.

No idea why people write bad reviews about this cafe. You’re in Italy, it’s normal that not everyone is speaking English. The lady who took our order was very friendly even though we communicated without speaking Italian. Desserts are first class, cute little cafe to have a break and drink a coffee.

€18 for 2 portions of Millefoglie and one cola! Each Millefoglie is 7€ and it's a dry and nauseating gastronomic experience. The staff do not speak or understand English. Fooled me just this once!

The pastry counter in the back had excellent service. I purchased two small deserts from there, and paid immediately. However, upon leaving, the service at the front counter was horrible. I selected two maron glacé to purchase on the way out, and paid. But then the man at this counter tried to charge me again for the pastries I had alresdy purchsded. Even after showing him the receipt, he didn’t believe me. He seemed to make a phone call to the back to “verify” but didn’t seem to say anything? It was very strange. Very rude service, unfortunately. For the rest of the tour group I came to Padova with, do NOT come here, they don’t respect Black people!

Bar pasticceria in the Padua City centre. There’s a wide choice of delicious pastries and the coffee is very good. If you choose the seating option to enjoy your breakfast, everything is going to cost much more. This is a normal thing for every cafe but, in this place, it turned out to be too much expensive. The available seats are downstairs. Toilet available downstairs.

Marvelous millefeuille: Crispy and flaky puff pastry layers with a rich, velvety pastry cream! The jewel of the Graziati pastries, the millefeuille is left entire in its glory and is cut into pieces infront of the customer per order by a friendly staff. It pairs perfectly with their flavorful coffee. Fair price-quality ratio at 4€ for a slice of millefeuille and 1.20€ for an espresso.

Hands down best dessert in Veneto. Best pastries. Better than Venice! The happiest accident I have made to drop in and try all their cookies and desserts. It was a Michelin star degustation, perfect to take away for a picnic too. All of this was only 12 euros (including five extra mini cookies I devoured already). Every single item was crisp and tasty, fresh and flavoursome. Moist and moorish, fluffy and decadent. The cookies were such a highlight, my favourites were the dark choc raspberry tart and dark choc cookie. Best cookies in the world. Was in butter heaven. Thank you for the traditional recipes that you use, just like grandma’s kitchen but with glamour.

The hall is a bit smaller than you would expect, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. For concerts is actually better, since it offers a bit more cosy and intimate atmosphere. The toilets are super neat and clean, the hall itself is brand new actually ( 3 to 5 years). Inside you can find enough bars that offer drinks and food alike. Also there are some people going around offering drinks, so you don't have to move from a good spot which is very convinient. There are also sits inside, so if you prefer to sit and watch, you can do that. The only thing I had a problem with was the price od drinks. 6€ for a 4dcl of beer is a bit too much. That is why the 4/5. Everything else is fantastic. Also the stuff is friendly and nice.

Came here for some cheeky cocktails before dinner. All the drinks we had were amazing. Specifically their version of the dissarano sour and their Bloody Mary was great! The service was also very nice and welcoming.

Comfy outside seating, even in winter -- tables have built-in heaters underneath (so cool!) and plenty of throw blankets. Owner and staff are AWESOME. Super professional, friendly, and detail oriented. They put a lot of love into their craft and it shows.

It is a nice, elegant restaurant in the middle of the city with a great view over Prato della Valle. They have a menu of seafood especially. The food is good, fresh. The only thing I would mention is they could have more spicies, play a little with the flavours. At least for me that would work :)
