Prato della Valle in Padua is a grand public square with a central island encircled by an elliptical canal called the Alicorn, adorned with over 70 statues of notable figures. Commissioned in the 18th century, it serves as a venue for various events, fairs, concerts, and markets. This bustling square is frequented by students, artists seeking inspiration, and fitness enthusiasts who utilize the surrounding 'asphalt ribbon' for running and skating.
Prato della Valle is a beautiful and lively piazza, it’s a huge open space. The elliptical canal with its ring of statues is very unique — walking around feels like being in an open-air museum. On market days the square is buzzing with stalls, it’s a also beautiful place to stroll, sit under the trees, or just take in the atmosphere. I loved the night atmosphere, stunning lights and beautiful views. It’s also a great spot to start or end a walk through Padua, since it connects easily to the Basilica of St. Anthony and the historic center.
Thilo B — Google review
This is a lovely piazza to visit with many sculptures surrounding the water and grass area, however there isn't much else to do unless you visit on a market day. We caught the stall holders clearing away on the Saturday evening, so there was a lot of plastic mess around the piazza but it was all clean by the Sunday. You can walk the length of Via Roma towards the Prato delta Valle and also visit the Botanic Gardens and Basilica. If approaching from Via Roma, there is a supermarket on the opposite side of the piazza.
Alison C — Google review
So many statues, and the four bridges! The main square is huge. The basilica is well worth seeing, as is the church to the N (1 block) of the park. FYI, there are some cute 'tourist trap' places along that street for souvenirs!!
Ian F — Google review
Beautiful and epic! Can enjoy sitting or exploring. Great place to gather with friends or family, or to walk/exercise. Perfect time to visit is day or night.
Sporadic T — Google review
Prato della Valle is a huge square where in summer you can feel like a cutlet on a Teflon frying pan. The place is certainly impressive in size and number of statues, but the sun is so generous here that the only shadow is your own. Yes, it is beautiful, spacious, but it is better to come either at dawn or after sunset, otherwise the walk turns into an express version of an open-air sauna.
Vadim S — Google review
One of the largest squares in Italy and home to over 70 statues from important names in the history of the city. However, I do feel that the place is a bit overrated for tourism. The square (and the water) is a bit dirty, a lot of concrete, and there are no signs or plaques with explanations about the statues.
Guilherme C — Google review
Great central circle with lots of historical significance which doubles as a park. It made for a great starting location to navigate the city.
Mark W — Google review
It was our first stop for the day which might have been a mistake as a tourist. It was nice seeing the local vendors but they were selling produce and since we were traveling, we could not take advantage of their products. I believe it would be different at night when the street vendors are serving food. It would be an excellent place for live music as well. As for the area itself. There is a lot of green space surrounded by water with bridges to cross the water. There are many statues to look at and it was very peaceful when we were there. If I were to return, I would definitely do the evening visit.

The Scrovegni Chapel, also known as the Arena Chapel, is a must-see attraction in Padua. Commissioned by Enrico Scrovegni in the early 14th century, this chapel is adorned with vibrant frescoes painted by Giotto di Bondone between 1303 and 1305. The chapel's rich history and stunning artwork make it an essential stop for art enthusiasts. Additionally, visitors can explore the nearby gardens and museum for a comprehensive experience.
I was lucky enough to simply drop by on a Sunday evening and get tickets right away (don't do that, try to book in advance online). This was my favourite experience in Padova, easily!!! Just check the pictures, the paintings, the history of this place...this is magical!
Guilherme C — Google review
Ever since I read Gombrich’s The Story of Art years ago, I had dreamed of visiting this place. Undoubtedly the highlight of our trip to Italy! Impeccably preserved, with lighting at the base that showcases the frescoes in the chapel in the best possible way. Giotto, in the 1300s, is a landmark figure pinned on the grand tapestry of art history, undeniably a medieval genius and at the same time the starting point of the Renaissance. He was among the first to bring architectural frames, outdoor scenery, shadowing, expressions, and natural gestures into his figures. Giotto’s innovations in spatial depth and emotional realism paved the way for Masaccio, and eventually for Da Vinci, Michelangelo and the High Renaissance. What makes the experience even more fascinating is its story: the chapel was commissioned by Enrico Scrovegni as an act of penance for his family’s sins of usury. The only real pity is that each visit is limited to just 15 minutes. Honestly, it feels far too short, so we couldn’t help but want to buy another ticket just to experience it all over again.
郭嘉欣 — Google review
Beyond words. Simply the best place there is to visit in the field of art and art history. You get 15 minutes with this unimaginable project that left me in awe. You have to understand the details, the way it was built, laid out, how it was designed and the frescoes were painted in order to understand the importance of this chapel. And that it was made for the people of Padua and visitors to appreciate. That makes it special too. The need for climate control makes every visit a precious experience - remember to be appreciative of the time you get. The guided is a must purchase - afterwards or before. I choose the one by Maria Beatrice Autizi. Giotto is unprecedented. The work of Pisano is equally important. Afterwards you can visit the museum, with a good collection of Greek and Roman sculptures.
Thomas B — Google review
What an amazing place and fascinating history. Regardless of whether you are religious or not. The incredible creativity of a man in the 1300's has to be witnessed. The human emotions that have been depicted throughout the chapel are amazing. Highly recommend a visit to this well organised historic site.
Paul W — Google review
The chapel itself was astonishing and breathtaking. There was a short video in air-conditioned room before entering, which provided general info. - Unfortunately, there was not enough time to patiently savour the frescoes, we were rushed out, so I was very dissappointed:( *I know there are many people coming to visit, but I would strongly consider prolonging the visiting time.
Monika N — Google review
A must see when you visit the beautiful city of Padova. Very important to arrive in time as stated by your on line reservation as the admission process for visiting the chapel is strictly adhered to.

Visiting the Cappella degli Scrovegni in Padua was an amazing experience — a compact, powerful space housing Giotto’s masterful fresco cycle that leaves a lasting impression.

Piazza della Frutta is a lively square in the historic city, known for its vibrant fruit and vegetable market, as well as its 12th-century tower and historic city court. Adjacent to Piazza delle Erbe, this bustling square offers a variety of dining options, including All'Ombra della Piazza, a charming eatery serving delectable finger foods like fried calamari, shrimp, small pizzas, calzones, and more.
I bought wild strawberries at 2 of May. Exellent. For such product I can pay a bit more.

What a beautiful building with an enormous town hall. You see a beautiful history! What a good idea to have shops on the ground floor and a daily fruit market around there.

During the day this square is filled with vendors and at night it transforms into an area to enjoy company while sipping on drinks. I really enjoyed the astronomical clock at the one end of the square. We just sat for an hour with our son while he played with other children. Thank you HEX Crypto for maling this trip possible.

The Basilica of St. Anthony is a magnificent Catholic church with Byzantine-style domes and notable artworks, including relics of St. Anthony. Constructed in Gothic style shortly after the saint's death in 1232, it attracts pilgrims from around the world who come to pay homage to the revered friar. The interior is a labyrinth of chapels and corridors housing masterpieces such as Donatello's reliefs on the high altar and expressive sculptural narratives of St.
We took a day trip to Padova from Ferrara. We decided to take it easy just wander round the town looking at the architecture eating and drinking etc! The one place we did actually visit was the Basilica of St Anthony and it was stunning. It's hard to describe in words the majesty of the church. It is one of the most stunning churches I have visited. Was rather amused at them charging for the toilet! Definitely worth a visit.
Lorenzo — Google review
No tickets required, but dress appropriately! If you have too much skin showing, they will provide covering to wear for 1 Euro. I was very impressed by that, so no one would be turned away! You can wear shorts and short sleeve shirts for comfort in the heat...just not too short. This magnificent place is a must-see!
Stephen M — Google review
The Basilica of St. Anthony is truly my place of strength. Every time I come here, I feel a powerful energy that surrounds and uplifts me. The atmosphere is so unique and deeply spiritual that it’s impossible to leave without feeling renewed and inspired. A must-visit for anyone who wants to experience something beyond the ordinary.
Tatiana — Google review
The exterior is a melange of architectural styles, fairly plain brickwork but with Byzantine minarets and domes reminiscent of the Hagia Sophia of Istanbul. Internally it is pure Gothic with wonderful sculptures and artwork. The scale is vast and the ceilings almost disappear into the distance, many covered by netting to catch falling debris. This is a site of pilgrimage for followers of Saint Anthony and there was a line to enter the chapels containing his relics. The lighting is very dim so the architecture is not shown to best advantage but nevertheless the effect is inspiring.
Herm D — Google review
It was a great blessing and goosebumping experience to have a dharhsan at St. Antony's basilica at Padova. One could feel the positive divine vibration the moment enters into the Basilica. Indeed, we spent more time in the Basilica in prayer and meditation. St. Antony of Padova is the patron saint for lost objects. St. Antony of Padova is widely celebrated saint in South India. We had a opportunity to pray at his cemetery, tonsee his unperished tounge and jaw. His incorruptible relic is housed in this basilica.
Dr R — Google review
Due to our ancestral devotion to St. Anthony, my wife and I made a point to visit Padua, and the cathedral here is truly mesmerizing. Having visited Lisbon as well, we were particularly struck by the abundance of St. Anthony’s relics housed in this beautiful church. You will find St Anthony's pillow stone, uncorrupted tongue of St Anthony, Jaw bone with teeth, vocal apparatus, skin from head, cassock, St Anthony's finger, hair. Plus relics of other saints and items from cross on which Jesus died
John C — Google review
One of the most magnificent basilicas you will ever see. Its fame rests not only on its architectural beauty but also on the spiritual aura that resides within the basilica. It houses the mortal remains of St Antony of Padua. It also has the relics of more than a dozen other saints including St Pope John Paul II. Catholics from all over the world flock to the Basilica throughout the year. One thing that catches our eyes is the altar that has all the relics.
Dr G — Google review
It’s truly a blessing to visit this marvelous church and meet St. Anthony in prayers. Touching the tomb of St Anthony and attending the daily mass were the highlights of our visit in Padua.

Excellent collection of archaeological artifacts and Italian art. You can find works of Giotto, Guariento, Bellini, Vivarini, Tintoretto and many others. Highly recommended

Free entry as part of your ticket to Scrovegni Chapel. It's a big rambling museum with pockets of gold that can be tiring to find. There's a good casual cafe that's worth a visit as a welcome spot to refresh and restore your energy. We were there for an exhibition that seemed to me like C20 guff. The most interesting aspect was the poster.
AussieIslander — Google review
An excellent collection of finds and excavated material, presented in a reasonably logical way. The museum is traditional, in that it is static with little or no recreation of past local cultures. No visit map or audio guide available. Investment is needed in new museum presentation technology and techniques.

Seriously... Such a big place and NO ENGLISH descriptions. Translating everything on phone is impossible for place this big. Such a shame in a tourists place like Padova! Especially that ticket is super expensive. Also "models", not a real things to see.

A hidden gem in the Veneto region; this museum boasts minor works of art compared to bigger Venice museums, however they are 1) many, 2) chronologically arranged, 3) very representative of Venetian art in the XVII century!

This place was recommended to me by a local as one of their favorite restaurants in Padova. Exforo is located just next to Prato della Valle and Abbazia di Santa Giustina, and you get to see the most beautiful sunset during dinnertime. The staff is very warm and welcoming. I ordered from the tasting menu, and the food was very delicious incorporating local produce. You can consider having aperitivo at the outside area when the weather is good. Definitely recommend and will return!

The terrace is great with azing views over the square. Service was brilliant. The staff helped with food choices and drinks. The food was great. We had a selection of started and mains. Then finished with cafe xo patron!
Matt B — Google review
The best: the Pratto della Valle view. Best time to go would be before the sunset for sure. To make the insta picture pays the overpriced cocktails and food that is served here. The service is really kind, always asking if everything is ok. Cocktails come with small food to eat like taralli, olives and chips. The other appetizers are super super small but good in flavour and quality.

This stylish lounge bar and restaurant boasts an inviting atmosphere with its captivating interior design, featuring dynamic colors and lighting that set the mood for a fantastic night out. Guests can indulge in classic meals while sipping on exquisite wines and cocktails, all accompanied by engaging DJ sets that keep the energy high.
THE WORST experience in my life in this club. We exot for 3minutes of the club, we paid before the entrance and to leave our jackets. We exit and asked IF WE CAN DO IT and the security said yes and then they didn't let us in because they said it's full. BUT IN FRONT OF OUR EYES they let in other 15-20 people who haven't paid it. Because we were not italian, they were racist and we ask can we get it because we paid... and they didn't. Then I kindly asked but the security punched me (i'm a girl) and still didn't let me in. I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS BAR TO ANYONE! Please check your workers. He was dark skin and very very rude to me. :)))))) good luck! :)
Klinta G — Google review
I am writing this review after almost a week thinking that I might be emotional and irrational with my words. But, the fire is still there. I lived in Italy for 6 years and I love the lifestyle and social life of the people. But, for the first time in my 6 year stay, I feel so bad in this bar. My friend and I were enjoying the night in the city center, and around 22:00 we decided to go to the Q bar, it was our first time in this club. As soon as we arrived a lot of people started to pile up and after a while me and my friend were the only people left outside, the body guard was so rude and disrespectful. Even if we were so polite and arrived earlier than the rest, he said there is no place for us because of the reason that I don't want to say, sadly. 😡 That was the time, that I understood why he became a bodyguard while I am working in one of the most respected companies. Since I was unable to get in and see the service in the bar, I have no idea about that, but the guards don't deserve such jobs that require humble behavior. I hope the Q bar owner could see this and take measures to fire them and change with the humble and welcoming people. Anyway, I will never come back again. If you're international tourist or a foreigner, please don't go there, most probably you will endup disappointed before you inter inside the club. Sadly it's truth, you can read similar reviews here. Ciao

You don’t pay at the entrance but when you leave, Serurity men force you to pay, they even physically move you.. it’s physical abuse. A beer was price 7€ for my friends but 10€ for me because “first drink is 10” 🤡

Went for the 90s night, and the music was pretty good for most of the night but a lot of it wasn’t really 90s. It’s a good space, lots of comfy couches to sit on, but expensive — mandatory $10 for entry and a drink, and $7 for a shot. Also at one point the hosts put on Native American headdresses, and it was such a huge turn off for me and my friends that most of us left. Why the cultural appropriation??? Please educate yourselves and do better.

What’s the point of having a club if you’re just letting in 14 years old, people wearing hoodies..? Probably a playground not a club..?😂 waiting a security guy (Dylan was his name I think) to decide if we’re getting in and watching him letting children drink alcohol, I think this is illegal if not pathetic for him, sorry Dylan😘 so the point as you can see at the reviews section is that THEY DON’T LET YOU IN IF YOU ARE NORMAL you have to be likable by a random security guy that thinks he’s the second best thing after Michelle Obama. Security guy you’re cute but just for a security guy so CALM YOUR TITS♥️

Worst experience in Padua so far. As soon as they hear that you're not speaking Italian with your friends in line, they lie to your face and say "sorry can’t let you in, we're full", and then they let 15 Italians in in front of your eyes. This is simply xenophobia.

THE WORST BAR EVER! Please guys avoid this bar if you don’t want to ruin your day like me. The bouncer is the worst human being on this earth and he discriminates people on basis of their look. We were tourist and he did not allow us enter. No, doubt they are losing reputation is only because of the security guard who himself looks so unhygienic and black. He is putting the name of bar down and also putting down the name of your country Italy and giving us such bad impression about italian people.

I had the roast beef and it was to die for, but my colleagues ate the pizza and said it was one of the worst they have eaten. Other than that, the music was too loud so speaking was out of the equation, there were even people still eating at that time. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Located in Piazza della Frutta, La Folperia is a renowned street food stand that has been serving traditional regional seafood dishes for over 40 years. Run by Barbara and Max, the stand offers mouth-watering delicacies such as baby octopus with parsley and lemon juice, sea snails with garlic, fried soft crabs, and creamed salted cod. The fresh catch of the day is sourced from fishermen in Chioggia to ensure top-notch quality.
Speechless at this very moment. My wife and I are on an Italian road trip cum gourmet journey and this was on her hit list in Padova. Glad we did not miss it as arrived late in town and the favourite octopus salad...was just sold out. The tuna was excellent and my wife has not had such delicious shrimps since her childhood in Singapore! And that means something!

Amazing sea food!!! Highly recommend this place! We loved the food and the stuff! The stuff is so helpful and polite, in a good mood as well! The foos was so tasty that I can't wait to come to Padova again to eat here! The prices are reasonable and the quality of food is like in a most prestigious restaurants! P.S. the olive oil they use is so tasty that we had some bread with that as well and it was great! Amazing! Thank you, it was the best meal we had! ♥️♥️♥️

Their octopus is a must try ! They don't speak English but they run a family business, arrived 12:45 and already there was a queue ! Check the pictures, check the menue and make your order Everything we tried was really good and fresh ... Street food and seafood all in one go is a must try for sure over here. Ps. The fried seafood mix is lovely but wasnt hot , the rest of the food was excellent for the style of serving and eating !

The best street food in Padova, in my opinion. Very fresh and tasty. Cheap. It goes well with a glass of Prosecco. Highly recommend 🐙🍋🥂

Very nice people and very fresh octopus. We found that cleaning the head part of the octopus would give it a better flavour, but overall definitely worth a visit.

La Folperia has a small outdoor stand in the middle of Palazzo della Ragione. They sell fresh seafood and are famous for their signature folpetti with a green lemon, olive oil, and parsley sauce. The octopus was super tender with just the right amount of chew. It was served with warm toasted bread to mop up the sauce. Delicious, fresh seafood, however, quite pricey.

It was a wet afternoon in August so that might take away the gloss from things. Sell octopus and other seafood- plates sold by weight.

I visited because I found various recommendations on the internet. It was a Friday night and I thought it would be crowded, but I was able to order without waiting. The olive oil, lemon and herbs on the octopus were very harmonious and delicious. If you ever visit Padova, you must try it.

Osteria l'Anfora is a charming restaurant that offers a relaxed and authentic dining experience. The cozy space is adorned with knickknacks and bookshelves, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The menu features traditional Venetian dishes that are simple yet well-executed, capturing the true essence of the region. One of the highlights is their extensive wine selection, perfect for those who appreciate quality drinks.
The spaghetti alle vongole was the best I have had! Good size clams and the pasta was not soggy. Tried the liver too and it is good with polenta! Highly recommend to get reservations beforehand as they do get busy (I tried same day reservations twice and failed)

Delicious, traditional, home cooking. If you want to experience real Italian cuisine and eat with locals, this is your place. Hand written menu that I assume changes with varying specialties of prima and secondo options. We had the tortellini with butter, sage, and speck. It was so simple, yet so delicious. Reminded me of my Nonna's cooking. A perfect taste of Padova.

One Bigoli to rule them all... It doesn't get better than this. The authentic Padovan pasta, cooked to a level of al dente perfection I thought was impossible for fresh pasta. And it's super affordable, at 15€. A local, no bullshit, authentic place in Padova - a MUST! Just remember to reserve a table because they're usually packed

The dining experience is truly incredible. The food was absolutely delicious - we had seafood sphagetti, chicken bukatini, tiramisu and pear chocolate cake. Wow 🤩 The service is great as well. Friendly staff and cool ambience. I will definitely recommend this place.

Our visit to Osteria L'Anfora in Padua was exceptional. The evening began with fresh mussels in a delicate white wine sauce, setting a high bar for the night. The mains—spaghetti vongole and rabbit—were outstanding. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the rabbit was tender and flavorful. A classic tiramisu ended the meal on a high note, light and rich with coffee and cocoa. The local white wine we paired with our meal was sensational, enhancing every dish. The service was attentive and fantastic, with friendly staff who clearly love what they do. This popular spot for locals is a true gem. Highly recommended for anyone seeking authentic Italian cuisine and hospitality in Padua.

Nestled in the heart of Piazza del Duomo, Padua Cathedral, or Duomo di Padova, is a remarkable testament to centuries of architectural evolution. Originally established in the 4th century and consecrated in 1075, this stunning structure underwent significant renovations that culminated in its current form during the late 16th century under renowned artists like Michelangelo.

While the cathedral may not make a striking impression from the exterior, its interior exudes elegance. The baptistery, in particular, is a hidden gem adorned with original frescoes dating back to the 14th century, revealing a rich tapestry of historical artistry.

Wine bar
Enotavola Pino is a laid-back restaurant and bar in Padua, founded by Giuseppe Romano, a native of Caserta. The establishment prides itself on using high-quality ingredients sourced from various regions of Italy, with the exception of French oysters. The menu features dishes such as fish from Mazara del Vallo, San Marzano tomatoes, and Pantelleria capers. Visitors can enjoy regional wines alongside their meals and indulge in an extensive selection of Italian sparkling wines.
An intriguing seafood-centric restaurant in Padua with a well-curated wine selection. The flavors struck a nice balance—creative yet comfortably familiar. There are contemporary variations of conventional foods such as mayonnaise made out of pythoplankton. Every dish was fresh and made to order, showcasing a clear attention to quality. I particularly enjoyed the red shrimps (presumably harvested from the Adriatic) and the scampi, both served unshelled and as part of a mixed seafood platter. Interestingly, the breads didn’t seem freshly baked, which stood out slightly against the otherwise high standards. The wine house spirit is evident in the details too—like the walls, thoughtfully lined with wine corks, adding character and charm to the space. While the restaurant is recommended in the Michelin Guide, it hasn’t been awarded a star. Prices are not cheap and on par with starred restaurants. Still, I’d happily return. Finally, make sure you have a reservation due to its popularity.

After reading some reviews, I was excited to try this restaurant and it did not let down. We had the raw fish antipasti. The fish and prawns were fresh and the oysters were delicious. The first course with squid ink pasta was the best pasta o have had in a long time. I could not compliment this dish anymore. We also tried the turbot, but unfortunately for us, the fish was dry and the flavour pairings did not agree with our palette. Despite this, I would definitely go back if I’m ever in Padua. The service staff were friendly and attentive which made the evening even better :)

Stumble upon this restaurant while making a pitstop in Padua. The restaurant has been awarded or rather feature in Michelin guide for many years. The wait staff is kind. The food is also great. 1. Crudo seafood of the day. The seafood is fresh and super sweet. Drizzled those with extra virgin olive oil and a pitch of sale, very simple but showcasing how good the seafood is very well. 2. Mixed battered seafood, again great seafood, very crispy. What surprise me is they also serve fish, I don’t see that often. This comes with horseradish mayo which is perfect. Though, I’d love to see a lemon wedge (to add a bit more acid). 3. Mussel and rosemary, very simple and straightforward. 4. Tiramisu, very good. It’s almost like a soft browny with a hint of coffee than tiramisu 5. Mango something, i dont remember exact but there’s mango, coconut. Overall, very refreshing and great to end the meal. Overall, great experience and would love to come back again to try other dishes.

Pasticceria Graziati Padova, established in 1919, is a renowned pastry shop run by the third generation of the Graziati family. It is celebrated for its signature millefoglie pastries and la pazientina, an intricate sponge cake with layers of chocolate unique to Padua. The tearoom features vaulted ceilings and a 13th-century door discovered during a recent renovation.
My wife and I were on vacation in Oct-Nov of last year and went to Pasticceria Graziati in Padova for a coffee and cake after some morning sight seeing. The pasticceria's coffee and freshly baked sweets were delicious and satisfying. Whilst the prices are on the higher side compared to other cafes in Padua, the central large square location is perfect. So if you’re looking for a historic classic Italian pasticceria and you are in Padua, it’s a worth a stop. Recommended

Pasticceria Graziati in Padova offers a pleasant experience with its quality coffee and freshly baked croissants, both of which are flavorful and satisfying. While the prices are on the higher side compared to other cafes in the city, the central location adds to its appeal. If you’re looking for a spot with a bit of elegance and don’t mind paying a bit more for the convenience and atmosphere, it’s a worthwhile stop.

No idea why people write bad reviews about this cafe. You’re in Italy, it’s normal that not everyone is speaking English. The lady who took our order was very friendly even though we communicated without speaking Italian. Desserts are first class, cute little cafe to have a break and drink a coffee.

€18 for 2 portions of Millefoglie and one cola! Each Millefoglie is 7€ and it's a dry and nauseating gastronomic experience. The staff do not speak or understand English. Fooled me just this once!

The pastry counter in the back had excellent service. I purchased two small deserts from there, and paid immediately. However, upon leaving, the service at the front counter was horrible. I selected two maron glacé to purchase on the way out, and paid. But then the man at this counter tried to charge me again for the pastries I had alresdy purchsded. Even after showing him the receipt, he didn’t believe me. He seemed to make a phone call to the back to “verify” but didn’t seem to say anything? It was very strange. Very rude service, unfortunately. For the rest of the tour group I came to Padova with, do NOT come here, they don’t respect Black people!

Bar pasticceria in the Padua City centre. There’s a wide choice of delicious pastries and the coffee is very good. If you choose the seating option to enjoy your breakfast, everything is going to cost much more. This is a normal thing for every cafe but, in this place, it turned out to be too much expensive. The available seats are downstairs. Toilet available downstairs.
Claudia C — Google review
Marvelous millefeuille: Crispy and flaky puff pastry layers with a rich, velvety pastry cream! The jewel of the Graziati pastries, the millefeuille is left entire in its glory and is cut into pieces infront of the customer per order by a friendly staff. It pairs perfectly with their flavorful coffee. Fair price-quality ratio at 4€ for a slice of millefeuille and 1.20€ for an espresso.

Hands down best dessert in Veneto. Best pastries. Better than Venice! The happiest accident I have made to drop in and try all their cookies and desserts. It was a Michelin star degustation, perfect to take away for a picnic too. All of this was only 12 euros (including five extra mini cookies I devoured already). Every single item was crisp and tasty, fresh and flavoursome. Moist and moorish, fluffy and decadent. The cookies were such a highlight, my favourites were the dark choc raspberry tart and dark choc cookie. Best cookies in the world. Was in butter heaven. Thank you for the traditional recipes that you use, just like grandma’s kitchen but with glamour.

I had never been to this theater . I had no idea it was so nice. It’s one of those bubble buildings, for winter tennis. Inside however it’s a true theater 🎭. A beautiful hall at the entrance includes an area where you can have a snack while you wait listening to live music, lovely decorated with chandeliers. You can also find popcorn 🍿 stand and bathrooms 🚻.

Very well operated live performance theater. Good snack food for pre-performance munchies. Helpful and polite personnel to assist in seating. Comfortable chairs and very good sound system. The theater is large but has easy viewing. The show was enjoyable. Of course, parking was crowded but that was to be expected. Overall, an excellent night out.

Great concert venue - brilliant lines of site, good refreshment options (inside and outside), nice relaxed outdoor space
Lee F — Google review
The hall is a bit smaller than you would expect, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. For concerts is actually better, since it offers a bit more cosy and intimate atmosphere. The toilets are super neat and clean, the hall itself is brand new actually ( 3 to 5 years). Inside you can find enough bars that offer drinks and food alike. Also there are some people going around offering drinks, so you don't have to move from a good spot which is very convinient. There are also sits inside, so if you prefer to sit and watch, you can do that. The only thing I had a problem with was the price od drinks. 6€ for a 4dcl of beer is a bit too much. That is why the 4/5. Everything else is fantastic. Also the stuff is friendly and nice.

Not sure why this place is so busy while pigeons are flying around spreading all the germs on food if you stand and eat there. On top of that, a porchetta sandwich is tiny and costs 4.5eur while at Al Merca which is right there, it's 5eur but so much better. Service comes with no smile and the sandwich is ok but nothing special.

The best: variety of tramezzini. The spritz is not good, but at least chips are included. Service a bit slow and maybe not tourist friendly. It is located in the piazza so it is kind of cool for people watching.

Nice little bar, i tried the vegan tramezzino which tasted good, the atmosphere is inviting, the location very beautiful. Shame that they do not serve you a glass of water if you ask, like anywhere in an italian bar. You must buy a small plastic bottle which is not only expensive, but unfortunately a step in the wrong direction, circulating an unnecessary amount of plastic. Old school.

The sandwiches were simple and I personally wasn't a fan of them but that could be my taste. The price was quite low! 2 wine, 2 sandwiches and chips for €14. Palazzo Bo is a Renaissance palace and home to an elegant anatomy theater, forming part of the city's university. Originally owned by the Papafava family, it was later gifted to a butcher in 1405 for supplying meat during a siege. The building housed an inn before becoming the university in 1539. The name "Palazzo del Bo" persists due to the university's decision to preserve a bull's skull as part of its emblem.
Amazing history. Must see for all science and education lovers. Galileo Galilee’s teaching platform. Wowzers!
Miroslav M — Google review
The “Ox Inn” converted in 1494 to become eventually Padua University. The old court, one of the finest buildings of the renaissance began in 1546 with Doric columns in the lower and Ionic in the upper decorated with original crests. Galileo taught (1592-1610) in the great hall which is dedicated to his memory and where current honorary degrees are presented. The anatomy theatre (1594) is the earliest permanent anatomy theatre in the world. The theatre has an inverted cone and elliptical ground plan with 6 layers of seating and last used in 1872. Elena L. C. Piscopia, in 1678, became the first woman in the world to graduate from a university and received her degree in philosophy at Pudua. This historic university is a great value visit. Do take a guided tour to learn about the history and to have access to the anatomy theatre.

It is housed in an impressive twentieth-century building and features multi-floor exhibitions showcasing historic furniture, ceramics, textiles, coins, and medals. The museum is part of the Civic Museum of Padua and includes collections from Museo di Arti Applicate e Decorative and Museo Bottacin. Visitors can explore elegant twin squares nearby along with other historic landmarks such as the Roman Arena and the Scrovegni Chapel.
Palazzo Zuckermann offers a fascinating collection of jewelry, ceramics, coins, and artifacts that showcase local culture and craftsmanship. The museum is well-organized and easy to explore, making it a great spot for a relaxed, enriching visit in Padua!
Ivan C — Google review
Museo Bottacin is a small museum located on the second floor of Palazzo Zuckermann. The museum features a large sculpture room, two rooms with 19th century Italian paintings and period furniture, and a large numismatic collection. The sculpture room is the most spectacular part – an excellent selection of 19th-century sculptures, professionally illuminated against a black background. Best presentation of period sculptures I have seen in Italian museums. The number of paintings is small, but there are some major artists – Induno, Schiavoni, Querena. The museum is well worth a visit if you are in Padua. It is just across the Civic Museum with its extensive collection of old masters and the Scrovegni Chapel.

The place is great and there are actually 3 museums for the price of one. The Botaccin museum was a very pleasant surprise. The numismatic collection is one of the most precious in Europe. They have coins from Antic Egypt, Antic Greece, Roman Empire etc

Beautiful museum with tons of beautiful exhibits. No crowd, overall 3 floors full of interesting things. There was also a temporary exhibition. A big variety of art does not make you feel bored. Buying the ticket in advance by Vivaticket for Cappella degli Scrovegni, you get the entrance for this museum and Musei Civici Eremitani. It's located very close to the train station. Don't omit it! You need about 1-1,5h to visit it.

The first rain day we’ve had in a while so we decided to go to this museum. I must say it was enjoyable. It had a lot of unusual things that were from past centuries, Jewelry fans, art the main focus is on the coin but I thought his artwork was much more interesting for me.

Wonderful café with a great view of the Prato della Valle. We had ice coffees and an Aperol Spritz and really enjoyed both! The service was great, even though we accidentally showed up 30 minutes before closing time 😅

Great location at the Prato Della Valle. We had sandwiches and fruit. They had cold air conditioning and served water with ice. Great for a break from the heat. Bread, meat and fruit was all very fresh. Great prices. Staff was super friendly and nice. Highly recommend.

Hugombre — Google review
Order taken waited over 40 minutes. When food arrived, one of the "pre-made" sandwiches was not available. When the missing sandwiche arrived, only 2 minutes it was lovely. Great tasting food. Even though they knew we only spoke English, when they came to apologise and reorder they " only spoke Italian". Considering the business being mainly tourist. We felt .... ignored.

Great service (in English), many different sandwiches and snacks to choose from and cheap prices. Espresso, fresh press of the day and the sandwich were very good and the view makes it 5/5 stars. Would definitely recommend for a quick lunch or breakfast.

The Museum of the History of Physics, also known as MUSME, is a fascinating destination for those interested in vintage physics and scientific instruments. Located in Padua, near one of the most renowned Medical Universities in the world, this museum offers a time-tested assortment of original machinery and equipment used by scientists to study various phenomena. The collections include books, scientific instruments, didactic tools, and even furniture from different periods.
Worth the visit. A find for those interested in taking a centuries long journey (believe 6) through many of the major scientific findings in the physical world. Well laid out - helpful written descriptions but the visuals and actual devices are its strong suit; had a valuable and interesting discussion with one of the student custodians during visit; can’t promise like minded students are always assigned, but made the tour so much the better.

Caffe Pedrocchi is a true gem nestled in the heart of Padua, renowned for its rich history and vibrant atmosphere. Often referred to as the "Cafe without Doors," this iconic establishment was open 24/7 from 1831 until 1916, making it a beloved gathering spot for intellectuals, students, and politicians alike. Its prime location near Piazza dei Signori and Ragione Palace adds to its allure, inviting visitors to soak in both culture and coffee.
Love love love this cafe! From the history and the ambiance to the mint coffee - a cold version is available in warmer months and is also absolutely phenomenal! I haven’t ordered actual meals here yet, but always enjoy the coffee, sandwiches, pastries, and snacks. It’s a go-to every time I’m in Padova!
Tammy V — Google review
We ordered its signature mint coffee (like its name suggests) and it was a pleasant surprise! I first ordered a hot mint espresso, which was good; then I saw the table next to us had the iced version, and I couldn’t resist trying it too. I ended up liking the iced one even more
郭嘉欣 — Google review
You can get takeaway coffee and snacks at the front counter but the Cafe Pedrocchi is all about the grand salon experience so opt for the table service and be transported to the fin de siecle. Breakfast can be pretty ordinary. I had the Grand Toast, which is 4 slices of white bread toasted with ham and cheese served with a few crisps/chips, and my partner had Gourmet Pizza, which was 4 pieces of pizza with ham. Nothing fancy but good-sized portions. I had Viennese coffee but the whipped cream was so cold it cooled the espresso instantly. You pay €6 for this incidentally but only €2 at the to go counter. But if you want the service and atmosphere it's worth it. PS. There is a piano but no piano player during our visit. PPS. Ladies be prepared to wait in line for the limited toilet facilities.

This cafe is crazy fantastic!! We booked two seats in advance for the coffee but ended having lunch here (no regrets). We love everything we had on our table(see photos). You can’t leave this place without trying the mint coffee (THE BEST! 🏆). I got back home still dreaming about it 🤤🤤🤤). Lastly, thank you to the lady who takes care of the restroom (I’m the lady with braces 😬).

We went to this cafe because we like good espresso and they had some specialty coffee drinks. I ordered the self titled espresso drink with a mint cream topping. I'm a bit of a coffee nerd, so I enjoy taking pictures of coffee at the interesting I visit. There was a nice espresso machine there, so while the barista was making the drink I pointed my phone to take a shot. The guy turns around and gives me waves at me to stop. So I put the phone away. After the coffee was done he brought it to us and banged it on the table in a huff. This is unacceptable behavior to a customer. You are making coffee, not building a nuclear reactor lol. The sad part is the coffee was nice. Be happy that a customer is showing interest in what you do and don't be rude. caffe_pedrocci please have a bit more respect for your customers and teach your employees better customer skills.

Osteria dei Fabbri is a charming and family-owned restaurant located near the market, offering traditional Italian dishes such as bigoli pasta with duck sauce. The old-fashioned space with exposed beams adds to the authentic atmosphere. It's highly recommended by locals and visitors alike for its fresh food sourced from the nearby market. The al fresco dining experience at this casual eatery is particularly enjoyable, making it a favorite spot for many.
Not very expensive, traditional food, normal size portions. I had zuppa d'orzo which super mega tasty. Staff is attentive.
Adriana T — Google review
I got to know the restaurant a few years ago as a well-known osteria with good prices and good traditional food. Unfortunately it no longer has the same service, the same good food and the same prices as it used to be. The staff were completely overwhelmed, even though the place was only half full. It took me about 1 hour and 20 minutes to serve the first courses, even for the children. And at least another hour of pause before serving the second. One of the waitresses was actually super nice, but they both looked exhausted and lost as it was their first day on the job. The portions were mostly quite large. But nothing compares to the quality expected from a traditional osteria. Without that is becomes just an overpriced average restaurant. Nothing special about it. No reasons to come back.
Graci B — Google review
We had a lovely lunch here. A charming waitress translated all the menu from Italian to English for us, the food was amazing, so was the house wine. Encouraged by the positive experience, we even decided to order espresso at the end, like Italians do, and learned that it actually is a great way to finish your meal! Definitely recommended if you are looking for a local place with a relaxed vibe.

Had to wait 45 minutes for a bowl of bean soup. Asked if it would be long and the reply was "we have lots if dishes to serve". No "sorry" or "I will check and let you know"... my fault for asking! It took me 9 spoonfuls to finish... 10 euros. Not recommended.

Social club
When it comes to nightlife in Padova, "Fishmarket" stands out as a vibrant hotspot that captures the essence of a lively evening. This club is known for its energetic atmosphere and welcoming vibe, making it an ideal choice for those looking to enjoy a night out without the frills of high-end venues. While it's primarily open during the winter months, visitors can expect a fun environment filled with dancing and good security.
It is definitely worth the visit if you’re a tourist. Obviously, wagyu beef, squid, octopus, shrimps and crabs, sake shops and we found some places with deep fried yams and potato chops with minced wagyu beef- delicious! Expect lots of tourist and locals
Alnoor S — Google review
My friends and I visited Fishmarket and encountered an extremely unpleasant situation – the theft of our belongings, disrespectful treatment from the staff, and rudeness from the security team. We left our jackets and a coat next to us, just like many other guests, and regularly checked on them. However, at some point, we discovered that they had been stolen. We immediately approached the club’s security and staff, but they offered no help and told us that there were no surveillance cameras in the club and that they could not assist us in any way. It was clear that no one was going to investigate the situation. When we tried to get at least some response, the staff showed complete indifference, simply shrugging their shoulders and saying that it wasn’t their problem. Their behavior made us feel like the theft could have been intentional. The security guards behaved even worse. Around 4 a.m., when the club was closing, they started forcing us out onto the street, even though we had lost our outerwear. And as we were leaving, the security not only spoke to us rudely but also outright insulted us. Their rudeness and behavior were absolutely unacceptable. To make things worse, the club staff didn’t even take our contact information in case someone returned the stolen jackets and coat. It felt like they just wanted to get rid of us as quickly as possible. In the end, we had to call a taxi in the middle of the night and go home in the cold without our jackets. None of the staff even apologized for what had happened, offered help, or suggested any solution. Moreover, the club’s security does not seem to be effective at ensuring safety at all. We also experienced harassment from some men who behaved inappropriately. Despite this, the security staff did nothing to intervene or regulate such behavior. This club does not care about the safety of its guests, and the staff allows themselves to treat visitors with rudeness and humiliation. If you plan to go here, be careful – your belongings may disappear, and instead of helping, the security and staff will only insult you. Ps: Now I have started hearing from many people that similar incidents happen almost every week. So think twice before going to such a shady place. Hopefully, the authorities will take action against this.

1 star is too generous for a place that is so racist and so unfair to international students. The bouncers are rude and robotic and will offload their efforts to someone who deliberately won’t speak English to prove a point. I was with a group of Romanian people and I wasn’t rowdy or rude but I wasn’t allowed in while my friends were. Tell me how that’s fair? I’m here on my erasmus and frankly this experience has thrown me off massively from what’s supposed to be a great student club

I didn't think they could make them so good and filling! For €5 (two sandwiches), I was full. It was hard to stop, because if I'd listened to the hype, I'd have wanted to try them all. I only managed to convince myself by ordering one to go for "later." Sorry for the photos, but I couldn't wait a second longer! The cozy atmosphere, both indoors and outdoors, provides a comfortable setting to enjoy these phenomenal drinks with fun and thoughtful presentations. The staff are known for their professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail.
Great option to have a drink and grab a small bite. The place its really cozy, they play good music and the staff are super friendly. They have a great variety of cocktails. The place is small so it gets crowded fast at night, but you anyway can have a drink outside. If you visit Padova and you wanna go out for drinks i would totally recommend.

A lovely dinner on the outside patio at Al Prato, looking across Prato della Valle at the sunset glow on Abbazia di Santa Giustina. Service was professional and the food was very good. My partner started with a red tuna tartare (good) and I had the crunchy fried baby shrimp (excellent!). My partner then had potato gnocci and I had spaghetti in a seafood sauce. Both very good. We paired these with a recommended Vermentino from Sardinia.

It is a nice, elegant restaurant in the middle of the city with a great view over Prato della Valle. They have a menu of seafood especially. The food is good, fresh. The only thing I would mention is they could have more spicies, play a little with the flavours. At least for me that would work :)

We went there for an aperetivo for the first time, and we got tartar and shrimps, the quality was so good that we decided to stay for dinner. And they didn't disappoint us. The food (pasta with clams and octopus) was amazing. Also, they had this chocolate made by themselves, which I can say was one of the best I have ever had. It was sooo good that at the end I asked some to take away with me. Thank you Al Prato for the amazing food and service.

Credit where it’s due—the team kept the kitchen open after 3pm, which in Italy is unheard of. Ordered off-menu: a proper cotoletta alla Milanese and a simple Caprese. Straightforward, honest plates, no fuss, no drama—just good cooking when they could’ve easily shut the doors.

We were a group of teachers on a school trip. We saw this place all of a sudden and decided to get inside. The owner welcomed us very warmly and served us with food that was superb. The atmosphere was chill, and the environment's aesthetic was topnotch. I'd recommend it to any tourist since the food is typical of the region Veneto.
Luca C — Google review
Great location with glass 'box' set-up with view over the square. Food and wine all 'good' - some better than others, nothing to complain about, nothing to write home out and all good enough quality and cooking for the prices. A bit disappointed in the wine list - given the prominent display of bottles in the window I was hoping for something longer and with a better selection of local wines. Got a good a decent priced Amarone, but not much choice. Overall a decent choice, but definitely lacking atmosphere or anything to make it special. Would not object to going back; but wouldn't actively choose to either.

(Translated by Google) I gave this place 2 chances, the first evening was terrible, the second if possible, worse. The drinks are WATER, I'm not joking, you can drink them if you are driving, they have no alcohol. The music is not music, they don't mix songs, but sounds that can be found on free software. I haven't heard a piece that can be associated with an artist. The staff is also rude, as if they are selling an exclusive product, rather than a substandard one. I went to two different evenings, months apart, do yourself a favor: don't invest a euro, if you find a free evening, ok, but you will find confirmation of what I say.
