Commissioned by King Louis XV in 1745, this is one of the oldest public gardens in Europe. It was built around La Fontaine, a natural spring venerated by the people of Nîmes for millennia, and once the heart of a sacred Gallo-Roman sanctuary. Designed by Jacques-Philippe Mareschal and Pierre Dardailhon, the garden harmoniously blends Roman ruins with the aesthetics of a formal French garden. It features a lower section in the classical French formal style and an upper section landscaped in a more natural, Mediterranean style.

A beautiful garden with many walkways, plazas and viewpoints. The stairs and fountains are truly beautiful and there are some amazing panorama views of the city. It is quite a climb to the top though, with many staircases and ramps, so be make sure you bring your walking shoes!

Fabulous park with fountains, gardens, canal with big carp, lots of stairs to climb if you wish for the view. Great way to spend a relaxing hour or two.

This park has so much to offer; from ancient Roman ruins, botanical gardens, 16th century pondages and sculpture features. All to make the visit memorable.

What a gorgeous garden! We went to Nîmes to visit the amphitheater and we hadn’t planned to visit this garden, what a surprise! If you plan on visiting this city make sure this garden is near the top of your list!

It's a beautiful building to admire from ancient Roman times. The exterior looks impressive and it's located in a lovely spot in Nîmes. I didn't see the inside because there was an entrance fee and I was told there wasn't much to see."

A masterpiece of ancient Roman architecture, this is considered the best-preserved Roman temple in the world, symbolizing the era of Pax Romana. Constructed between 16 BCE and 4 CE, it was dedicated to Gaius and Lucius Caesar, adopted sons of Emperor Augustus, serving as a temple of imperial cult worship. Throughout the Middle Ages, it was repurposed as a town hall, church, and storehouse. From 1821 to 1907, it housed the Musée des Beaux-Arts, which contributed to its preservation. The temple features a hexastyle façade with six Corinthian columns and a pseudoperipteral layout—engaged columns along the cella walls creating the illusion of a full colonnade. Its harmonious proportions and refined decorative elements have inspired many later buildings, including the Virginia State Capitol (USA) and La Madeleine in Paris. ※ Included in the Pass Romanité.

An absolutely beautiful and well conserved classic temple. The museum itself is very small (one room) so a visit inside will be a very quick visit - one could certainly view from the outside only.

Beautiful Roman temple from 1st century BC. The entry ticket allows you to go in and read a couple of information on the monument's history. While you can just poke your head inside and read the Wikipedia entry to get more context about the place, paying the ticket could help support the maintenance of the monuments.

There are 2 sides to this review. 1. Stunning architecture, a building that has stood for 1000’s of years passed the passage of time for of that it’s well worth the visit. 2, however there is nothing inside than the very informative information boards in one room that you pay €5 and queue for 20 mins. I get the contribution to upkeep, More interesting from the outside.

Best preserved temple of it's inid anywhere. There are a few pillars in Barcelona (allegedly) and one still standing in Pula, bu neither compares to this. Not much to see in the little museum, but like any great art or delicious food you can enjoy it over and over again just being in it's presence and feasting on its history and magnificence.

Dating back to the 1st century CE during the reign of Emperor Augustus, this ancient Roman structure was originally part of the Augusteum, a sacred complex dedicated to the imperial cult. It was built near the La Fontaine spring, a site considered sacred since antiquity. Despite its name evoking the Roman goddess Diana, there is little archaeological evidence that it ever served as a temple to her. Scholars suggest it may have functioned instead as a library or a public cultural facility. During the Middle Ages, the building was repurposed for use as a monastery, church, and even a storage site, which helped preserve it from destruction.

So amazing to be able to walk right in, location is in a beautiful park. Very special to see such historic spots.

Really beautiful park with the remains of a “temple” that are partially still standing and big fun to explore. The structure was likely a library not a temple. It is a public park and there’s no entrance fee or ticket needed.

As part of the Jardins and Tour Magne visit it would be foolish to pass this Temple without walking through it was those did Millennia ago!

A local market with many fruit stands and bakery shops. All fruits are delicious and pastries there are so yummy. This is one of the places I’d highly recommend

The interior layout is uniquely organized by aisles named after spices, enhancing the charm of the space.

Fresh market, very clean and easy to walk around. There is a wide variety of food to choose from. Parking is in the same building as the market.

One of the best indoor markets in Provence. Outstanding produce and very good casual bars and restaurants with authentic local food, highly recommend a visit if you are in Nimes.

Superb market in one of the gastronomy centers of southern France. Shopped here often during our week in Nîmes; bought fish, beef, chicken, cheese, vegetables, bread, wine. Everything fresh, most of it local. Do yourself a favor and find a place in Nîmes with a kitchen for at least a few days so you can take advantage of what this market has to offer.

A nice cultural center for Nimes, where you go from the library to the classrooms where you can set up exhibitions such as those of modern art. The architecture is new and majestic as a whole and definitely makes it quite a tourist attraction. Then there is also the possibility of going to the bar-restaurant with a terrace overlooking the square of the Roman temple.

I was there for the opening of the first exhibition to occupy the entire space by a single artist ( and he’s local!) Despite being 87? He not only directed the installation, he apparently created the last work for it 5 days ago! A stunning space with knowledgeable and friendly staff. A must see !

Great building and pretty library, nevertheless, the museum disappointed us. Super SMALL exhibition and quite awful. We enjoy contemporary art museums but this one is not worth the money. Nice admission staff, but the one at the exhibition were kind of annoying.

We visited it on Sunday, museum is open but toilets are closed. Fairly poor exhibition, your tickets are checked in every room you enter.

The view from top is a good tip. It's a place called " Le ciel de Nîmes" toping 5he museum. It's worth visiting collections of that nice art center and public library. The restaurant and bar over the terrace is one if the best adresses in town....

Although half of the museum was closed due to refurbishment at the time, we absolutely loved this museum and it's females in art exhibition especially. The lady on reception was really kind and gave us some recommendations and gave us a discounted ticket due to the fact most of the museum was closed which we really appreciated. Would love to come back once the second floor is complete!

Nice museum with historical art. Not too big either. It took us around 1.5-2 hours to visit. They have English audio guides that provide relevant information about the most important paintings in the museum.

Currently the gallery is under innovation so some rooms are closed, and the ticket is reduced to 3 euros instead of 5 euros. The collection is quite interesting, easy to spend an hour here.

I love this museum so much because of the very kind welcome I received from the lady at the welcome desk. 🥰 I then was totally regaled by the current exhibition of Fatma Haddad’s works. The museum has a delightful flow from room to room displaying classical oil paintings. There is even an atelier for children to make art. Truly a beautiful museum. I will return often.

Of course the building is madly impressive. A stage was being set up inside for some event (that I'd like to go to), but detracted from the overall gravitas. We couldn't access the upper stories and there was some modern installations that didn't quite hit the mark.

We paid the full €5 each despite parts of the gallery being closed. All labels on pictures were in french and although there were some numbers indicating headphones could be used, none were available ☹️

Museum of Old nimes but with some weird contemporary pieces? My personal fave bits were the demin loom and original denim garments. Staff friendly and helpful. Worth a visit especially when it is included with the exceptional value Nimes Pass (purchase this online)

Very interesting museum for a 5 euro entrance fee. The personnel were very kind and helpful. Some of the floors of the building were as amazing as the displays. The origin of Denim has its own room to show how it originated in Nimes and has evolved. (De Nimes = Denim). It's on two floors and as I recall there is no lift which is unfortunate for many people but I suppose it's good to know that before you begin your visit.

Wonderful small museum.

Well curated exhibits in the museum. The building itself is also interesting. You are given printed sheets with information on some of the exhibits. It would be nice if the exhibits had descriptions in English.

4.5 stars. Depends on the date but can be pretty cool. Definitely in great location. Update.... Went again July 2023 and it was great. I will be back and more often. I rarely give 5 stars but if I enjoy my next visit, it could be my first Nimes bar/restaurant. My guests were happy 😊

The inscription above the arches reads: "The Emperor Augustus, son of the divine Caesar, consul for the eleventh time, exercising tribunician power for the eighth time, gave the gates and walls to the colony". The construction of the Porte d'Auguste, formerly known as Porte d'Arles, dates back to the 1st century BC. It was one of the main gates of the city and was the entry point of the Via Domitia.

Sadly squeezed in by 2 roads and a in situ building, restricting the gate from view. Also, it's basically unpreserved. So you have to lean in and snap shots. But you are lucky to the original paving stones and blocks are here, so you can imagine what a Roman or serf saw

The Augustus archway is a perfect Roman architectural statement which is able to be seen near complete with Augustus statue.

Nice little museum with some very interesting Dinosaur models and animal taxidermy. Fascinating collection of African tribal spears and shields too. Entrance is free with the Nimes pass which I bought online - well worth the money as entrance to the majority of local attractions and the tourist train is included.

Very small, with very little of real interest inside. There is a room filled with cultural items from across Africa and Australia but barely anything is labeled or the few labels that are there are often illegible or hidden. Many exhibits obscure other items of interest by blocking your view. It felt less like a museum and more like a brocante. Some of the taxidermists animals are so poorly finished they're laughable, potentially entertaining enough to warrant a visit. It's hard to recommend that you will find anything worthy of your time here or your money. Overpriced for what is actually on display and the quality of the exhibitions are severely lacking. Keep your money for other attractions.

Not great, give 3 stars as under a refurbishment when I was there so may be better when fully open. But from my visit should really be 1 star. Staff were great exihbits not so good, and my expectations were quite low.

The true pearl of the jewel that is Nimes. Wonderful curating and a very knowledgeable staff make this an important stop in the city.

There are three display rooms, it is a basic museum, nothing special. It includes pre-history artifacts, foreign cultural artifacts and taxidermy specimens.

Really nice old cafe with an impressive ceiling, bar and seating arrangement. It is usually crowded, especially during the winter and in the afternoons. The food is not that great. I can only recommend the burger which I enjoyed in one of my visits. Service is really relaxed. Maybe more than what you would expect in a historic cafe. Also, prefer to sit outside or if you go inside choose the tables in the bar area if they are available. The tables in the second room are not that great, the set-up is darker and you get the noise from the kitchen and the people visiting the toilets all the time. I prefer going there for a quick coffee or a hot chocolate with the kids, rather than for lunch or dinner. For that i would give it 5 stars, but the lunch/dinner experience is not that great.

We enjoyed a soirèe with friends last week, the drinks were very nice, but the snacks could be better, nevertheless there are a bunch of things to choose if you like snacks or salted things. The place is beautiful

Beautiful place with relaxing, great atmosphere for a drink with friends or just to sit there and read a book whilst enjoying a nice drink and some delicious pie perhaps. My wife and I went here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch but unfortunately in the weekends the chef doesn’t work so there’s only option for pie or cookies. And drinks, of course. The only person working at the time was a young guy who works here parttime as a student. Even though he was running all over the place he was a good host and always cheerful. This place is lucky to have him (unfortunately I forgot to ask him his name).

Really unique/pretty setting to stop for a drink or small bite.

The place is visually really nice. The lack of interest in serving me was appaling. The moment I stepped in the place I got the impression they didn't want me there. Initially ordered a coffee and then I was asked to move to a neighbouring table for a bigger group, which I didn't mind at all, the way they went about it though was very was poor. I mentioned I didn't speak French and then the servers arms went up in the air as if he was really put out and continued to talk about me to the new occupants of the table I was sat at. Then came to the bill which I requested. 15 mins later, the bill still hadn't arrived, so I asked again and was just told to go to the bar area to pay. Again I don't mind that but don't make me wait 15 mins, they were taking payment for other tables while they were seated. Then they overcharged me charging for the order of the table I was sat at initially. Only after payment went through did I realise (no bill was produced and I paid by card) this was raised and then rectified by paying me back in cash.

Great Irish bar in a nice location. Ordered drinks and the bar staff were super helpful. Karaoke was fun and nice laid back crowd.

The batwoman was very knowledgeable about their beers and gave several taste samples as what they had was different than what I am used to. Guinness of course. Hubby said it was immensely better than what you get in the US, not as good as Dublin of course 😁 Also had Kilkenny Red =Smithwicks. Unfortunately not an Irish person in site.

A great little Irish pub that is a huge of activity. Always showing sport and playing Irish music which gives it a real sense of Ireland. I didn't come to France to see Ireland but this was a great find, super friendly staff and the interior decor is fabulous. Super service.

Beautiful church with some beautiful paintings and unfortunately the facade is covered but based on the photos it must be amazing.

It was nice and calm. The architecture and art displayed inside were very interesting to look at. I had a wonderful visit with my family.

. I reserved table outside 2 weeks prior and recommend to reserve this place. They will not let you before opening if you reserved 19-30. I really loved this place. I highly recommend to eat there. Very attentive and nice boys which served our food . We took gourmet menu (starter +main+dessert) for 39 euro. I took Grilled Cuttlefish with garlic aioli and black rice. Super tasty and for starter goat burrata with tomatos 🍅 mmmm 😋 desert also were superb Coconut flan, baked with lime in caramel. Highly recommend to take it :) my husband took Homemade Brandade alla Puttanesca" (tomatoes, garlic, olives, capers, lemon & pine nuts) and I took some of his as usual 😂 and it was fresh and amazing. Instead of main u can take House speciality. It is flaky potato pie, baked in a traditional oven, has become the signature dish of Au Flan Coco. Served with a fresh salad and raw vegetables, it's a generous, authentic... and truly unique dish. You choose the filling you're craving — they bake it right into the heart of the pie! He took ratatouille with basil pesto and no regrets there - I recommend to try !! He was saying no place for dessert but when he saw my coconut 🥥 flan he changed his mind 😂

I had a lovely dinner here. I liked the dinner meal options. Very good atmosphere in the back with good vibe, a good crowd, lively but not noisy. I was dreading a bit about ordering in English but the service was warm, attentive and accommodating.

Amazing dish, and the most delicious stew beef I’ve ever tried, so tender and juicy. The dessert plan coco is out of this world, everything tastes like homemade, nice service too. We were eating in a patio, not hot at all, covered by a big tree. Very nice experience!

A very good rate between food and price.They change menù every month to guarantee fresh and seasonal ingredients. The tipical plat are paté a coco (a salt cake with different combination inside, I've tried Brandade and tapenade, tipical of Nimes) and flan coco (a dessert) . Original combinations of tastes and a right portion!

Our group of four visited au Flan Coco for lunch as part of our day trip to Nimes. One of our group enjoyed the Plat du Jour (Today’s special) Cuisse de poulet farcie à la scarmoza et basilic, jus de volaille, polenta et courgette. (Chicken thigh stuffed with scarmoza and basil, polenta and zucchini). They thoroughly enjoyed it. The remainder of our group enjoyed Les Pat à Coco, a specialty of the restaurant. It is a potato pie, with crispy, flaky pastry and you can choose from a variety of additional layers within that might include roasted vegetables, tapenade, goats cheese, bacon, caramelised lamb…there were many options. This came with a generous and nourishing salad. Coupled with a rosè and followed by coffee and a range of sumptuous desserts this was a devine lunch made only better by warm service and, of course, outstanding company. If the weather is good I recommend eating outside like we did. A perfect lunch!

Au Flan Coco is a great restaurant. Had the Pat' à Coco, a sort of potato pie with a choice of toppings - I had lamb. Exquisite meal and a great range of desserts via a Thé Gourmand (the fun waiter allowed a Thé version of the café gourmand to great amusement) . Cannot recommend this place highly enough, go for lunch you will not regret it

Wonderful affaire menu in a lovely garden setting. Would return to Nîmes for their longer menu. They easily accommodated my lack of French and no reservation. Everything was fantastic.

Memorable meal. Everything from the setting, the service and the food was exceptional. One of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had. The amount of detail and work that goes to every plate is amazing. We had the menu plaisir and every dish was delicious. The slice rack of veal was the tender, yet flavorful accompanied with a delicious jus and the freshest of asparagus. Unbelievable selection of cheeses and delicious desserts. The chef stopped by at the end to say hello and make sure everything went well. An experience to cherish and remember.

Food: Not bad Service: super slow, but polite. But extremely slow! we spent 4 hours for a dinner Atmosphere: nice, we stayed outside and it very cute. Price: super expensive for what it is. 45 euros for a starter with tomatos? Are you crazy? Overall: a super expensive restaurant with above average quality food and S L O W service.

This was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The chef takes so much care to make every dish come together to sing in a true chorus of flavors. I also have a gluten allergy, and there was so much I could eat I never once felt deprived. They even had gluten free bread! Upon hearing I hadn’t ordered his signature soufflé for dessert (I’d assumed it had gluten), the chef sent me one on his own to ensure I got to try it. The staff was absolutely lovely from start to finish, and the entire experience truly felt like Poetry in motion. I cannot wait to return!

Beautiful setting but I ordered lamb en croute but received a skewer of lamb pieces that were mostly fat and inedible. Very disappointed.

The appetizers and main dishes we ordered were very mediocre. We were not enjoying our dining experience here. Then desserts arrived---a generous platter of profiteroles drenched in warm chocolate sauce and the very best dark chocolate tart we've ever tasted. We would come back to eat these desserts.

The foie gras was my favourite, and the dessert of strawberries in rose wine, a great end to the meal! TLDR: wonderful, highly highly recommend.

Had a great dinner here today. Warm service, good food, generous portions, reasonable prices. Everything you could want! Plus they open till late. We loved the mussels, foie gras, lamb stew, and pork plat. Did not particularly enjoy the desserts (they were decent), but the appetisers and mains were excellent. Easy 5 stars.

Stopped by for a beer and sat outside with a great view of the arena. 1664 (50 cl) was 6.80 euro. Not bad considering the location. All the other draught beers had run out as it was just after the Ferias and they were waiting for delivery. I am not surprised as it must be one of the closest bars to the arena entrance. Quick service.

No food available at all, toilets are disgusting and 20€ for two coffees and three teas...

Very rude waiter!!! As soon as he put the drinks down he yells at you to pay right away….he also didn’t know what an iced latte was and was beyond rude! Also WAY over priced!

We had lunch having a table with a view on the Nîmes arena. The food was tasty, I took the gardiane de taureau, which is close to beef bourguignon. The meat was juicy and melted in your mouth.

Incredible beautiful place to sit. Great view on the arena but terrible service. You can only get your drinks at the bar. No problem there but all the tables are filled with empty cups, glasses, cans and coffee cups. Not everything on the drink menu is available. There was broken glass on the ground as well. If you want a quick drink after walking around or visiting the arena, this will do but not if you want to relax and be serviced on your table.

To sum up, it’s hard for a bar to provide a worse experience. No food available, only one choice of wine available, soft drinks served in a can. We bought some olives from the machine, no toothpicks available, I asked for some plates, which were dirty. The setting, located opposite to the arènes is amazing, such a pity… Kudo for the waiter that night, who tried to do his best

Cafe with a great location right beside the Arena, and nice decor. Croissant was mediocre though.

C'est parfait! It's our first time in Nîmes and were overwhelmed with the amount of choice on offer. However, when we approach the menu to Carré Jazz, the server approached us and talked us through the menu, without pressure, and soon we were seated and eating. The food was fantastic, in a shaded and calm environment. Highly recommended as a place to eat.

Steps away from the Maison Carrée. Excellent food, a good beer list, and the gentleman who served us was smiling and friendly. We ate in the middle of the afternoon on a Sunday but enjoyed a full menu including a lovely crème brûlée.

I had dinner in this restaurant in the Summer of 2024 and it was disappointment, across the board: the service was very slow, the dishes lacked depth, and the price was high for what was delivered. It is very surprising that it has such good reviews - I would definitely not recommend it. On a more positive note, the location is indeed outstanding, right next to the Maison Carre.

We came for the gardiane de taureau, a famous beef stew, but it ran out so we ended up with minuscule fish and chips and, unfortunately for my partner, a dry pungent moules frites. When asked about the gardiane de taureau, they said they don’t erase it from their chalkboard since they will probably have more some other day. Hmm.. Still, this restaurant is in a nice open spot, the fries were nice, and they deduct the awful moules frites from the bill.

First my dish was served 10 minutes after everyone at the table…. Then it was not what was on the menu…. Rice instead of risotto . Supions en persillade were not cooked , I had to sent it back… Absolument the worst risotto I ever had it’s a shame that the chef can dare to serve it. Finally, didn’t eat anything… at least they removed-it from bill. Too bad! I’ll never go back nor my guests! Change the chef or go broke!

Food was good value and fine. Service was terrible and that is why I have rated the experience so poorly. The new waitress failed to enter our order so many people got their orders ahead of us. Apologies were there and appreciated but I then had to go in to get a knife which had not been brought out. The owner/manager? didn't seem concerned by any of this. Coffee took an age too. We were offered a free digestif to compensate which was nice. It's a great location but not recommended on the basis of service. Hopefully this will improve

Great little find well worth checking out. Busy little place that didn't crop up on the usual websites when doing my research of places to go beforehand - all the better for it. Authentic tapas reasonably priced, the convivial atmosphere really created a buzz. Everything was well made with good ingredients and nice to be able to see the kitchen in action.

The bathroom was filthy despite the restaurant just opening an hour earlier, indicating it’s rarely cleaned. There was also no soap available, and when I asked the staff, they said they just didn’t have any at all and handed me a paper napkin as if that was a great alternative to soap. Lord only knows what goes on in the kitchen with that nonchalance to hygiene. The food was disappointing – super greasy, and the pimientos de padrón were not even cooked, almost raw. Overall, nothing special and definitely not better than an average tapas place anywhere else in the world.

The food was really good; the duck was particularly good. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The service was quite slow (even by French standards). The house red wine was okay, but at 14 euro per 46cl, it wasn't really worth the amount it cost. A little disappointing for a region famed for its wine.

Amazing place with a lovely atmosphere and ambience. The staff is very friendly. Price are really good and the quality is excellent. I recommend the “Unglet de veau” and the “Mouse au chocolat”. The wine from the Nîmes is perfect for the meal. Definitely I will come back here whenever I’m in this city.

We had lunch here after visiting the Arena. It was a charming place. We had the beef tartare (surf and turf version, beef and smoked fish), grilled marinated beef on skewers, veal and duck hearts. Everything was good. Our waitress was always smiling and sometimes she sang. They were very friendly and competent. The place seems to get a good number of locals too. A very good sign!

Skip the restaurant in the Museum Romanité and come here instead (it’s right across the street)! We came for lunch and it was one of the best meals we had in all of Nîmes. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing lunch. The œufs mimosas were delicious and the tartare was mouth-watering. The veal steak was also absolutely perfect. Don’t miss the crème brûlée for dessert!

There were many options, so if you like wine, you will find something good. The food menu had a variety of meat, cheese, and other options such as bruschetta. We do not speak much French, but the staff still did their best to make us feel welcomed and serve us. It was a fantastic experience.

Don’t be afraid try something! Great place in the market. But don’t hesitate, the oysters and a seat at the bar might be gone out you do. But there are tables on the side which were just as great! Loved the duck hearts. Give them a try! I don’t see how you can go wrong here come back and try something different each trip. That is my plan.

Staff took advantage of our attempted French speaking and included an additional plat de jour on our order at €22 which we did not ask for and did not want. A simple act of deception which left us with the impression that we had been ripped off. The oysters and wine were good, the rest was mediocre. The Castellum Aquae of Nîmes was used to redistribute water from the Eure springs brought in by the aqueduct, whose best-known section is the Pont du Gard. Its flow rate has allowed a supply of 1,400 liters (370 gallons) of water per day per inhabitant (today, we each consume 150 liters daily (40 gallons!). The city’s fountains were served first, followed by public buildings (notably but not exclusively the baths) and some private houses. A threshold was set in case of drought in favor of the most essential uses.

The English translation: "Water Castle". Although it was known from the texts, it is a rare vestige of this type. Its function was to distribute water to the city. This water was supplied by a 50 km long aqueduct built in the middle of the 1st century A.D. (Augustan period). In times of drought, it guaranteed the security of the water supply and facilitated the evacuation of the city's wastewater. It is known to have been filled in during the construction of the citadel in 1688 and was not rediscovered until 1844 by a private individual who immediately set about uncovering it. Underwhelming attraction. There's only a sign board in front of the collapsed aqueduct which looks like a pile of rocks. Don't see any tourist around here as well. If you're visiting Nimes it should be okay to skip this attraction.

Mixed experiences here. The first time we had a conscientious waiter who served the "ancient" hot chocolate requested. Second time a different waiter served what seemed like Nestles' Quick (grainy & sugary) while distracted by being constantly on his cellphone. Not sure we'll return.

Small restaurant in the centre of Nimes. Service and food were impeccable. Great wine and desserts. There are only 2 dishes of the day available in the menu, so no kids menu, nuggets, steak haché etc. But the staff and the chef will find a way to serve a nice dish for children based on the daily menu. The two dishes we had, a steak dish and a vegetarian chili con carne, were amazing. Definitely going back soon!

One of the best addresses in nimes. There is a daily menu that changes every day with one starter one main and few deserts options for 15euro for lunch. The menu freshly cooked and decided on the day. Ingredients are good, cuisine feels very homy. I had a very good croque miette as a desert that was presented to me by the very young chef of desert who you could feel was very excited and happy about his job which I liked a lot. The desert also ended up being this delicious type of crumble with more texture to it. Every time I am back in Nimes La Marmitte is one of the first place I'm checking. They also just moved into a much bigger space than their original one which means they can serve more people !

This was our second time visiting Nîmes and our first time dining at GAMEL Restaurant, which was a 4 minute walk away from the Air BnB we were staying in. The service from the friendly and helpful staff was exceptional, and the food served was to the highest standard! My wife had two courses and I had three. Everything on the plate served a purpose and complimented the whole dish. You could tell that the chef gave a lot of thought to using seasonal ingredients. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and took the time to describe each dish and the recommended wine to pair. We both finished with a digestif. The Japanese whiskey was sublime. 👌🏾 I would highly recommend dining here and we intend on returning during our next visit to the beautiful city of Nîmes. ❤️

This was probably the worst experience in a restaurant that we have ever received. Only 1 star because the food was served. The service level & rudeness of the staff was incredible. We asked (family of 4) to move to a bench/booth table, which was set for 6, as it was more suitable for us.....we were told by 2 members of staff that it was only for 6 people not 4. The restaurant was empty inside pretty much! No customers came to the booth. So we had dinner in the end on a small round table that didn't cater for the dishes - so much so the member of staff was going to pull a chair from another table to put a plate of salad on it! We were also charged (until disputed) for 2 dishes which we didn't get served. The staff all need some customer service training. Absolutely abysmal & we wouldn't recommend this to anyone to eat here. We paid €174 for our meal and basically had our pants pulled down. Shambolic at its best.

Was excited about the opportunity to sit down and have a meal with my wife and daughter, cocktails were great and my daughter got dinner but after an hour waiting for our dinner and noticed other people being served asked where our order was only to be told it will be ready in 10 minutes, I asked for it to be take away after 10 more minutes it was still not available, paid for our drinks and left. I’m disappointed lucky MacDonalds is across the road.
