Soup Restaurant is a go-to spot for nourishing soups, particularly known for its Double-Boiled Cordyceps Flower with Chicken Soup. This family-friendly restaurant specializes in Cantonese cuisine and offers a wide range of healthful soups. The Reunion Take Away Set features the Baby Abalone Yu Sheng along with three other signature specialties. Visitors praise the attentive and friendly service, highlighting staff members like Jia Yi, Alice, Ms.
🟫 I've been here to this Soup Restaurant at United Square several times over the years. It was a friend who took me here years ago to try the food. 🟧 The dishes are always scrumptious and well-executed. It's like homecooked comfort food. I am sharing throwback food photos and recent pictures too. 🟨 My family members have dined here before too, as we live nearby in Toa Payoh and Novena areas. ✳️ I must say the prices are reasonably priced and service is attentive and efficient. 🔷️ Taste wise, the Samsui ginger chicken is always delicious and I like their braised tofu too. 🟦 The Soup Restaurant ( at United Square) was previously all brown in colour. They had renovated it recently to all white. 🟧 It's a restaurant that serves consistently good food, so I recommend it.

First time at this branch today (weekday) for lunch. Were told the serving may take longer than usual around 20min and we acknowledged. However we took almost 1 hour to finish the lunch, the last veggies took almost 40min to serve us. The overall long waiting was unpleasant despite there’s no crowd. However the foods and serving waiters were good so will not under rate them

Food overall was nice. Yangzhou fried rice is a bit too oily. Sweet and sour pork was good. Mr Tan was helpful and friendly.

We just celebrated my mother-in-law’s birthday at Soup Restaurant today 28 Sep'24 (Saturday) at the United Square, and had a wonderful time. Our reservation was at 6.30pm, and we were being promptly ushered to our room. The food was delicious as usual, but what truly made the evening special was the impeccable service provided by Ms. Zoe. Ms. Zoe was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that our entire family had a memorable experience. She was thoughtful in every aspect of her service and even surprised my mother-in-law with birthday buns, making the celebration feel extra special. Her warmth and professionalism truly stood out. We are so grateful for her dedication and personal touch, and we sincerely hope that her efforts are recognized by the management team. Thank you, Ms. Zoe, for making our dining experience unforgettable! 😄 👍

I walked in about 2.05pm and as shown on receipt I ordered at about 2.07pm.. Iced Pu Er, EB Ginger Chicken Rice and Angelica Pork Loin Soup were served to me about 2.15pm and it take abit longer because I saw my soup was actually served to another customer opposite my table. And they need to take another one for me. The Angelica soup taste salty and artificial.. it’s hard to drink. And the rice itself was way over cooked but I am still not gonna be calculative about the standard of the food up to the point when I started feeling hot at about 2.35pm. Also all the staffs started hiding one corner having lunch and happily chatting very loudly and I realised by the time I finished my meal at about 2.40pm, no one is there for me to call for service to ask for my dessert to be served. I need to make effort to ask random kitchen staffs who walked pass for assistance. When dessert was served to me, I asked a big sized female Malaysian waitress did they switch off the aircon because I am sweating, instead of showing they neglect their food standard and services in many ways, she told me “We 2.30pm close already loooo” and walked away. I am quite upset about this because I was not told that they will be closed and aircon will be switched off at 2.30pm when I walked in at 2.05pm. If I am told about this I definitely will not dine in there. There are many more food and choices for me to go. As I am starting to sweat and felt coped up I quickly finish my dessert in 3 big spoonful. I got up immediately with anger and paid at about 2.45pm and walk out. Immediately the mall aircon cool me off. I will never be back there again and I recommend other to consider before dining in there.

Very pleased with service of Doris, a very polite, pleasent knowledgeable lady. Her food recommendations is commendable. We will definitely be back, food is good n service is impeccable.

Soup Restaurant is celebrating National Day with a special promotion — spend above $80 and enjoy 60% off one of their signature dishes. And trust me, you won’t want to miss their famous Sansui Ginger Chicken, one of my personal favourites. Each bite of tender, juicy chicken wrapped in crisp lettuce and topped with their aromatic blend of homemade grated ginger, garlic, and sesame oil is simply divine. The rest of the meal was just as impressive — long, crispy French beans stir-fried with minced pork, silky Hometown Tofu, and the richly flavoured Honey Truffle Pork Chop. Even with the weekend crowd, Zoe attended to us with a warm smile, happily bringing extra ginger, lettuce, and chillies upon request. Her professionalism and cheerful service truly left an impression. A trip to their United Square outlet is well worth it.

Had dinner at the Soup Restaurant in Novena and was impressed not just by the food, but by the outstanding service. Despite the restaurant being short of both kitchen and service staff that evening, Doris went above and beyond to ensure every guest was attended to. She was warm, attentive, and efficient, making the dining experience smooth and pleasant. Her dedication and professionalism truly stood out, turning what could have been a stressful service period into an enjoyable meal. Kudos to Doris for her great effort and genuine care for customers.

Chinese restaurant
Yan Ting is a Cantonese fine dining restaurant located in The St. Regis Singapore, offering traditional cooking techniques and a diverse range of ingredients to bring out the natural flavors of their dishes. The restaurant provides an intimate and tranquil atmosphere with modern sophistication, making it ideal for gatherings and celebrations. In addition to its exquisite cuisine, Yan Ting also offers semi-private and private dining rooms for special occasions, as well as an extensive collection of wines, spirits, and champagnes.
Epicurean Wine Dinner Set 🍷*Must-try* If enjoy pairing wine with meals ✅ I recently tried the Epicurean Wine Dinner Set, which featured Chinese cuisine thoughtfully paired with a variety of wines. From champagne with the appetizer to red and white wines with the vegetables and main courses, the pairings were impressive and pleasantly surprising. 🤔If the final dessert had been paired with an *Ice wine*, it would have been absolutely perfect! ———————————- Updated on 7 Jun The waiter Nick was very caring and polite. 🍽️ ❤️ Not thirsty after the meal! ——— Every visit to Yan Ting is a top-notch Cantonese dining experience. ✨ An exceptional Cantonese culinary journey Located at The St. Regis Singapore, Yan Ting is one of my top choices for upscale Cantonese cuisine. The ingredients are always fresh, the dishes exquisitely prepared, and every meal has been a thoroughly satisfying experience. 📌 Recommended dishes: • Yellow Wine Braised Chicken Claypot: Tender chicken in a rich, aromatic broth—an absolute must-try. • Crispy Roasted Pork Belly: Perfectly crispy on the outside and melt-in-your-mouth tender on the inside—truly exceptional. • Vinegar Pork Trotters: Especially loved by the elders in our family—well-balanced sweet and sour flavors, rich in collagen, and deeply flavorful. • Dim Sum Selections: The truffle mushroom dumplings and crystal shrimp dumplings are delicately crafted, both in flavor and presentation. • Coconut Pudding: Light and refreshing—an ideal way to conclude the meal. 🏛️ The restaurant boasts a refined, elegant ambiance—calm and perfect for family gatherings or festive celebrations. The staff are professional and attentive, making every dining experience a pleasure. 💰 While prices are on the higher side (approximately SGD 100+ per person), the quality absolutely justifies the cost. A place well worth revisiting!

We came here for a family lunch and was very satisfied and happy with the taste of the food and the good service. Yan Ting serves very good Chinese food. We tried several dishes including the prawn dumplings with caviar, lobster with truffle sauce, and a few more yum cha dishes. All was excellent and highly recommended.

May 2025: We paid $267 for ala carte brunch for 4 people. The dishes were selected based on the recent reviews on the dim sum. Highly recommended: 1. Vegetarian truffle mushroom for its subtle taste of truffles in the fillings; 2. Shrimp dumplings topped with caviar; 3. Pan-fried radish cake; 4. Char siew buns for its bite-sized meat and smokey flavours; 5. Peking duck; delicious and filling when the meat is stir-fried with noodles; 6. Crispy skin roast pork, which is crunchier than Kam's roast. The table layout was aesthetic, and the atmosphere exuded a fine dining experience.
Justin T — Google review
Very unique chinese dishes The star of the night was undoubtedly the fried radish cake. Perfectly crispy on the outside, yet meltingly soft within. The fried garlic bits added a punch of aroma that paired beautifully with the radish—my favorite dish, and one you won’t easily find elsewhere. The stir-fried spinach with garlic was silky and fragrant, with none of that chalky aftertaste you sometimes get with greens. The steamed grouper with fried beancurd offered a fresh, tender fish paired with the crisp beancurd—an interesting and well-balanced combination. The mouth-watering chicken carried a mild heat, but leaned too nutty and creamy for my taste. I prefer the classic Sichuan style with a thinner, spicier sauce. Here, the sauce seemed blended with chili oil, corn starch, and crushed nuts, giving it a heavier texture. The mayonnaise fish was creamy, sweet, and tasty on its own, but the flavor didn’t quite complement the rest of the dishes—it felt like a standalone item. The pork-stuffed tofu was average. The sauce was flavorful, but the pork–prawn paste filling didn’t harmonize with the tofu, whose plainness dominated unless heavily dressed with sauce.

A friend brought us here for dinner and it was so enjoyable. Service was pleasant, friendly and attentive. They are all ready to recommend but we can tell that the diners here are regulars including my friend. They are vegetarian so we ordered mostly vegetables dishes. The Tofu was fried and so so soft on the inside. The vegetables with fermented beans was really good that we had to order twice! Rhe truffle beehoon was really well done! Very fragrant! We had an order of their 辣子鸡 and we enjoyed that too! Rice ball and red bean pancake for dessert is the best! Rice ball was so soft and the sweetness of the pancake was just nice. I would definitely return to try more dishes. Don't forget to make a reservation!

Fantastic lunch at YanTing, we received the warmest hospitality from Yong Zhe, Louis and YeeLing at YanTing restaurant which made our experience unforgettable. The food was amazing and tasty , and thanks for the rest of the team member of their service, we definitely will return soon,

It’s hard to book a table as they don’t answer the phone sometimes. We ordered the 6 course set meal and the food was really delicious. Service was pretty slow and there’s a clear lack of manpower. Nice of them to give mooncakes!

We celebrated my dad’s birthday at Yan Ting, St. Regis, and it was a wonderful experience. As we came in a big group, we were given a semi-private room which made the evening feel extra special. The service was excellent – attentive and professional throughout the night. Food was served promptly and every dish was delicious. A special mention to Weng Gor, who made sure everything was smooth and well taken care of. To top it off, the team thoughtfully surprised my dad with complimentary 壽桃 (longevity buns), which made the celebration even more memorable. Thank you to the Yan Ting team for making this occasion so enjoyable. Highly recommended for both family gatherings and special celebrations.

Nestled in the heart of culinary excellence, Summer Palace is a haven for those who appreciate the art of Cantonese double-boiled soups. Under the expert guidance of Chinese executive chef Liu Ching Hai, this one-MICHELIN-Starred restaurant transforms traditional flavors into exquisite dishes that embody the philosophy of Qi.
Had a wonderful dining experience during my first visit in Jun 2025. Food was expertly prepared and freshly-made (especially loved their handmade char siew bao). Every dish was served hot or at least warm, which is essential for a satisfying dim sum experience. Tea selection was impressive and thoughtfully curated, featuring creative cocktails inspired by Manhattan. Service staff were prompt and attentive, ensuring our teacups were always filled. Compliments to the kitchen team for the outstanding food, and to service staff for their impeccable hospitality. Will definitely visit again!

Had a birthday celebration here . Food was delicious as always. One of the dish (cod fish) was a bit too salty. Besides that, all the rest was very good. What stand out was the service from a Mr Alwin. He was very professional, courteous and had an infectious smile and personality. He took time to explain the dishes and very attentive. The restaurant also prepared a complimentary longevity bun for the birthday boy.

One of the handful Michelin 1 star Chinese restaurant in Singapore. Their double boiled soup is very good, soft shell crab appetiser is great, and black pepper beef cube is good too. Unfortunately all the other food tasted mediocre. Service is excellence though, and environment is good.

We stopped for dinner at Summer Palace while staying at the Conrad Singapore Orchard, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The host kindly accommodated us even though we arrived early for our reservation, which set a great tone for the evening. The seafood stuffed crab shell is an absolute must-try — perfectly seasoned and rich without being heavy. We also loved the pork fried rice, which was the ideal side dish to round out the meal. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the atmosphere felt both elegant and relaxed. Overall, a wonderful dining experience — we’d definitely come back next time we’re in Singapore.

Had a wonderful wedding banquet food tasting experience here. The food was impeccable, portion size was amazing, and overall ambience was great. Each course definitely had different things to rave about (e.g. the super crispy roast chicken, amazing soft shell crab appetiser, flavourful soup filled with many ingredients, the amazingly fresh prawns, superbly steamed fresh fish, etc). Although the place was quite fancy, it didn't feel pressurizing to have conversations as the tables were very spaced out. The cutlery was also very clean, without water marks. The staff were polite and introduced the dishes clearly when serving, helping to portion it out nicely for us when asked, taking care of the presentation. Definitely a wonderful treat for both us and our parents. On a side note, all the regular dishes ordered by other patrons also smelt incredible so it's definitely worth coming back to give it a try 😉 For the food tasting, their chef Mr Phua (who I found out after was a celebrity chef ⭐) also came out to have a chat and took the feedback seriously. Definitely makes me excited to hold my wedding at Conrad 😜 Special thanks to the wonderful staff who made this such a special memory for all of us!

True Michelin star experience. The birds nest was exquisite. The Prawn with Chili Crab made specifically for the SG60 was another standout. Very clean and precise flavors all around. Highly recommended. Their tea cocktails are a must for a first drink. The wine list also had a decent number of good Riesling producers as well.

Visited on 07 Nov 6:30pm-8:30pm Excellent Service and Warm Hospitality I had a wonderful dining experience at Summer Palace. The service crew were attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming from the moment we arrived. They anticipated our needs without being intrusive and were always ready with thoughtful recommendations. Dishes were served promptly, and empty plates were cleared efficiently. What truly stood out was their warm hospitality — they made us feel comfortable and well taken care of throughout the meal. The staff’s knowledge of the menu and attention to detail truly elevated the overall experience. A big thank you to the entire team for their outstanding service — it made our visit to Summer Palace memorable and enjoyable. Highly recommended! P/s: Their fried frog leg was amazing!!!
ML T — Google review
Set menu need min 2 to order so we went for ala carte to try more. Generally food is good. But u pay a premium for the place. The dumplings r fresh with lots of prawns inside. Fried frog leg is special, never see it elsewhere. The batter is thin and seasoned with just salt and pepper. Simple but delicious. Has quite a bit of meat and served hot. Char siew does not melt in your mouth though and the sauce is a bit sweet but still acceptable. Was curious when I see the menu, there is fried glutinous rice. Interesting dish. Not sticky like our steam glutinous rice. Fried with Chinese sausage, rice is dry kind. Unfortunately could not taste the wok hei. Service is very good.

Turtle, chicken & fish soup are served at this no-nonsense, long-standing restaurant.
This was my first experience with turtle soup, and it proved to be an impressive dish. The soup was rich and flavorful, with a distinctive herby taste that set it apart. The turtle meat was tender and cooked to perfection, offering a comforting and satisfying texture. Additionally, the black chicken soup was meticulously prepared, with the chicken so tender it practically melted in the mouth. As a complement to the soups, the handmade tofu and fried prawns were excellent side dishes that paired beautifully with the main offerings. Lastly would like to mention the staff service was exceptional—prompt, attentive, and knowledgeable, providing insightful recommendations and making the dining experience even more enjoyable.

Headed down at 430pm before the dinner crowd on a weekend. Fish maw soup was extremely flavourful and rich. They were generous with the amount of fish maw and also had two small abalone. Soup was packed with collagen and they allowed for one free refill. Yam rice was fragrant and paired well with the soup. Great place for family meals. Would come again to try the other soups.
Baiyu L — Google review
Ordered their Cordyceps Chicken Soup, and Ginseng Black Chicken Soup. The soups were both extremely tasty and rich. You could tell by the thickness and umami that they boiled these for a long time. The chicken in the soup was super soft as well- it falls right off the bone. This might be one of the best herbal soups we've had. Ordered some sides to go with our meal, and they were so well made too. Particularly loved their fried prawn rolls.
Russell W — Google review
The Ginseng Black Chicken Soup had a deep, rich herbal flavour that was comforting and well-balanced. It was not too bitter, with the right hint of sweetness from the ginseng. The yam rice was fragrant and slightly sticky, pairing perfectly with the soup. The Signature Jade Tofu was smooth and creamy on the inside, with a crisp seaweed layer that gave it a nice contrast in texture. The stir-fried vegetables in herbal sauce were fresh and crunchy, coated in a light, aromatic gravy that did not overpower their natural sweetness. The ginseng chrysanthemum tea was light and cooling, offering a pleasant floral aftertaste that rounded off the meal nicely.

Visited Tan Ser Seng Herbal Soup with my partner around 8pm, and even though they were getting ready to close, the staff still welcomed us in happily. I had the famous Ginseng Black Chicken Soup, which was deeply nourishing with a clean and aromatic herbal taste. The chicken was very tender, and it came with a generous portion. The Premier Fish Maw and Abalone Soup was boiled until thick and velvety, with a rich flavour in every sip. The Claypot Turtle Soup was already sold out by the time we arrived, so I will try it on my next visit. We also had the Original Signature Jade Tofu, which had a crispy seaweed coating and soft tofu inside, and the Handmade Prawn Ball, which was bouncy, packed with ingredients, and very tasty. The yam rice was the hidden factor that brought everything together, soaking up the rich soup and adding a fragrant, comforting note to the meal.

Ordered the cordyceps white chicken and collagen fish maw soup, simply amazing! Soup was very thick and very generous with the herbal ingredients. Sides like handmade prawn rolls and tofu were very good too. Very generous portions, and very hearty meal! Will definitely be back to try the turtle soup!

The Collagen Fish Maw Soup is very enjoyable. The premium fish maw has a rich, jelly texture from the collagen, and the soup itself is flavorful. It comes served bubbling in a claypot, with a solid abalone broth. Plus, there are two sizable abalones included, which add a nice touch. The Cucumber in Vinaigrette is a solid choice as a starter. It has a good balance of spicy and savory flavors, making it refreshing. It’s similar to the viral cucumber salad and works well as a light dish to share or as a palate cleanser between other courses.

Honestly, I had the best ginseng chicken herbal soup at Tan Ser Seng. The soup was super flavorful and generously filled with herbs. I didn’t expect the chicken to be fall-off-the-bone tender, which made it such a delight to enjoy. The tofu and Ngoh Hiang also stood out to me, I’ve never had this kind of texture for Ngoh Hiang skin before. I absolutely loved it alongside the sesame sweet sauce. 正文志记猪什汤大王 Cheng Mun Chee Kee Pig Organ Soup is a popular spot in Singapore known for its light, clean broth that allows the exquisite taste and texture of offals to shine without any unpleasant smells. The establishment offers fast service and delicious traditional soup, making it a favorite among locals and tourists alike. The pig organ soup is served with a variety of organs and is praised for its rich flavor and generous portions.
All these years of patronising this place and their standards have always maintained and I even dare say improved! Ingredients are aplenty and are so fresh and the soup is so flavourful! I would recommend it to any friend coming to Singapore. How i eat it is you dab a piece of ingredient with the chilli and you scoop a spoonful of rice with the soup. Combine them into one bite! Sinful! It can get difficult to find parking, you have to get lucky!
WH T — Google review
Tasty soup with assorted pig's part to go with the rice. Vege was nicely cooked and the vinegar pig trotter was nice too. Might be slightly ex if compared with those stalls in hawker centre. And the place can be warm on hot weather.
Jessen Y — Google review
I have been eating at this stall way way before they expanded. The broth is cooked using a lot of pork and salted vegetables. Their menu is simple with a few side dishes to go along. They have a good ordering system and food is served fast. Lucky they still offer free soup refill. Do try if u have the time and are around the area. Be prepared to sweat it out and parking is really limited during meal times.
My S — Google review
Oh I prefer the soup here over the other Cheng Mun Cheng Kee. This comes with a small scent of preserved salted vegetable and helps you deal with the jelat. (a sense of disgust that pertains to satiated by rich tasting food to the point that one is sick of it.) In terms of pork liver, which is the main character of the whole bowl of delish, it does lack some level of rawness as it feels overcooked.
Kong S — Google review
Pretty decent pig’s organs soup. The liver is thinly sliced and not overcooked, so it is very easy to eat. Soup is not salty and the other meats are all ok. Quite an ok portion for $7. Decent meal. Recommended if you are in the area or craving soup on a cool day.
Ben L — Google review
Tucked away in a corner of Jalan Besar, this Pig Organ Soup has been around for many years. I personally like the soup taste, and the owner is generous with the ingredients in soup. Pig liver and stomach not too overcooked so not too chewy and smelly. Their hand made chilli is very nice, not the spicy kind but it’s a unique taste. Service was extremely fast, within 3 minutes we got our food. Many seats available too!

I remember the first time I came here to eat their Pig Organ Soup, I was abit skeptical since it was my very first time trying such dish. However, ever since then, I've been so hooked on eating this!!! Please give this place a try! I'll definitely be coming here for the rest of my life, can't get enough of the taste!!

Ordered big bowl, $7.80. Soup is good. Ingredients also generous. Will return to eat.

Founder Bak Kut Teh, a renowned eatery, is now providing islandwide free delivery with a minimum spending requirement. This establishment has gained fame as it was visited twice by Jay Chou. Amidst the current safe distancing measures, many are seeking comforting meal options for dinner and Founder Bak Kut Teh could be the perfect choice. Customers have praised the peppery soup and perfectly cooked pork dishes at this restaurant.
Probably my favourite Bah Kut Teh in Singapore — been eating here for over 30 years! The pork ribs are tender with just the right balance of lean and fat, and the Teochew-style soup is clear, peppery, and endlessly refillable. Don’t miss dunking fried dough sticks into it — pure heaven. Side dishes like kiam chai, tau kee, braised peanuts, and especially the five-spice meat rolls are consistently delicious. Prices are fair, quality is always high, and service is quick. Only downside: it’s warm inside without air-con. But honestly, I’ll sweat it out any day for food this good!
John K — Google review
It’s been a while since I dine here. The bak kut (pork) it’s tasty and quite soft. Had to order another bowl to satisfy my craving! Goes well with the soup (can be refilled and it’s pepper - Singapore style, different from Malaysia - herbal style). Definitely must order the fried you tiao to dip inside the hot soup. Bak kut teh must have you tiao to complete the experience. Overall the food is good but a bit expensive Service was great as the staff was attentive Atmosphere - it felt a bit hot and stuffy. Maybe the aircon is not strong enough.
CS K — Google review
I have been a patron of this establishment since my childhood. While the flavors have remained largely consistent, I have noticed a more rapid increase in prices over time. I remember this place being extremely popular, with long queues and waits of at least 30 minutes. Lately, however, the crowds have diminished, and it is now much easier to secure a table. I sincerely wish them continued success and encourage both locals and tourists to give them a try. Their broth is delightfully peppery yet full of flavor, and I particularly enjoy their preserved vegetables. Enjoy!
Leia — Google review
Play the spot the mandopop, cantopop, Tw, HK, Mediacorp celebrities in the photos there. Colleague highly recommended the place. With good reasons - they cooked their braised peanuts in house, not using the canned ones, the youtiao (fried fritter dough) very nice too, also said to be made in house... Broth is the strong peppery type, with good flavours of meat and bones. We ordered the "signature" bak kut teh $9.90, 1 long piece of ribs and 2 short ones, I actually preferred the texture of the short ribs as the meat is softer. Prawn rolls made in house $8.90, pretty good - have chunks of water chestnut inside. Yuanyan (mixed intestines) handled well too. Lettuce with oyster sauce also had fried crispy lard, quite nice, portion is good for $6.80. Would recommend this place, for peppery bkt. No wonder the stars like it. Seems to have parking onside too, don't know the charges...

Review of Founder Bak Kut Teh This is truly a celebrity-beloved Bak Kut Teh restaurant — the walls lined with countless photos of famous visitors say it all. Some of my favourite celebrities have dined here, and it’s impressive to see the immense support Founder Bak Kut Teh has received over the generations. I’ve visited many times, and the restaurant has consistently maintained that signature taste passed down from the first generation. We initially wanted to order the premium pork loin and short ribs, but they were sold out. Instead, we had the Founder Bak Kut Teh, which was wonderfully flavorful — and best of all, the soup is refillable. We ordered two bowls of vermicelli, which paired perfectly with the Bak Kut Teh and other side dishes such as salted vegetables and fried fritters. The crispy prawn roll was generously filled with meat, fried to perfection, and had a delightfully crunchy texture. We also added braised eggs and lettuce with oyster sauce to round out the meal.
WanderWithWit — Google review
Food is good but isn't as good as i thought it should be. Prawn rolls were very good, though. Enjoyed browsing through the pictures of celebrities on the wall. Parking is not easy during peak hours.
T E — Google review
My singaporean friends recommended this place, so I decided to check it out. Just a heads up, you will have to be proactive if you want to get service here. The staff are all busy doing other things, so don’t expect things like soup refills. Even when it came to paying, some tables got to settle up from their seats, but we were told to go to the counter instead. Food wise, I personally liked the Lettuce w oyster sauce the best. The Founder Bak Kut Teh had a clean broth, but it was annoying to eat because of all the tiny bones, and the meat didn’t always come off easily. The red chili they served was already a bit dried out and not spicy at all, so there wasn’t anything to cut through the heaviness of the dishes we ordered.

7Marsiling Teochew Fish Soup

Restaurant
Marsiling Teochew Fish Soup is a beloved dish commonly found in Singapore's hawker centers and coffee shops. The clear broth, made by simmering fish bones and spices, is served with fish slices, vegetables, and noodles or rice. Customers praise the smooth fish slices, light yet flavorful soup reminiscent of fish bone broth, and generous portions of fried egg that are pillowy and indulgent without being oily.
Finally tried this after seeing SO many ppl hype it up online… and wah, let me just say — IT. DID. NOT. DISAPPOINT. I can totally see why this place has such a cult following now. Ordered the sliced fish soup and added the egg floss (as recommended by like 10 reviews lol), and from first sip I was like okayyy this is DIFFERENT. The soup — I swear it looks simple, just clear and light… but once you taste it, you realise there’s SO much going on. Got this deep umami flavour, like they boiled fish bones + dried sole fish + idk what kind of secret ingredients for HOURS. It's comforting but not bland, clean but not boring. The kind of broth you just wanna keep sipping non-stop. Honestly could drink this on its own on a rainy day and be happy. Then the fish slices — thick, silky, fresh as hell. No fishy smell, no weird chewy bits, just SMOOTH and SWEET. Can really tell they use good quality fish. They also don’t stinge on the portion — I counted like 8 or 9 proper slices?? Some stalls give you like 3 thin sad pieces, but this one really generous. And then… the EGG FLOSS. OMG. I wasn’t expecting much when I added it on, thought it’d just be some fried egg bits, but WAH. It came as these crispy golden threads floating on top like edible clouds. Smells like heaven, slightly smokey, slightly eggy. Some parts soak in the broth and become soft, some parts stay crispy — SO. SATISFYING. It adds this whole other texture to the soup that makes every bite exciting. Like eating a warm hug with a crispy edge 😂 Queue was long-ish when I came on a Sunday morning and do expect to wait a while. Atmosphere is typical hawker centre, nothing fancy, but the food is hawker GOLD. Legit better than a lot of restaurant fish soups I’ve tried. I’m already planning my next visit and next time I wanna try the 双鱼 version (fried + sliced fish) WITH egg floss again cos once is NOT ENOUGH. If you're a fish soup fan, YOU NEED TO TRY THIS STALL. If you’re not a fish soup fan… you might become one after this. 10/10, would queue again.

I made a special trip having heard numerous positive reviews. Despite arriving on a Saturday afternoon, past the peak lunch hour, I was met with a surprising line. Perhaps the rainy weather had something to do with the increased demand for comforting soups. I opted for the Sliced Fish Soup (medium, $7) and added bittergourd ($1) and fried fish roe ($2.50). Included in the price is a choice of carbohydrates. The stall boasts a wide selection of options, from standard rice and beehoon to instant noodles and even kway (yes, you read that right, the same kway used in kway chap). Upon the first sip of the soup, it was easy to understand why this stall is so popular. The broth is rich and flavourful, with a distinct sweetness that, while not identical to prawn noodles soup, is comparable in intensity. However, while it was undeniably delicious, it didn't quite meet my expectations of a traditional Teochew fish soup, which is typically lighter and more delicate. The fish itself was fresh and lightly marinated, although a few slices were slightly overcooked. Nonetheless, I appreciated the generous portion of vegetables and egg floss. While egg floss is not a traditional Teochew topping, it added a delightful texture and enhanced the overall flavour of the soup. Overall, this is a solid comforting soup which is worth trying if you are in the area.
Touristmouse — Google review
A decent bowl of fish soup. Won't purposely come here to queue and eat. Fish slices are on the smaller side. Surprisingly give the fish eggs to add texture and flavor to the soup. Won't be my 1st choice. However will open till 8pm Hot Tip! If you arrive late and see the stall light close, just continue to queue unless the owner inform you. This is one of the stalls that work long hours but is kind enough to not denine you from getting food.
Thaddeus Z — Google review
Didn’t really plan to have fish soup for breakfast but ordered the mixed fish soup with thick bee hoon. The fried egg floss was amazing! Although the hawker was rather slow in preparing the food, it’s much better than expected. Chunky fish slices and flavorful soup.
Douglas S — Google review
Today was my first time here trying out this Fish Soup stall at Shunfu Mart Food Centre - and boy, was I super impressed. I ordered therefrom a Fish Soup with "coarse beehoon" for $6, and it came with a generous portion of fish slices. It also came with some - I would describe - moreish "eggy trails" and vegetables, and a clean tasting yet very flavourful soup that was not "fishy" whatsoever. I have to say, it is one of the best Fish Soup that I have had in Singapore, and I look forward to re-visiting this stall in future.
Edtayjb — Google review
THEY ONLY ACCEPT CASH and there are very long lines Fish slice soup with thick bee hoon (6) The soup was amazing. It was comforting and with no discernible MSG taste. The fish was also cooked well and not overcooked. The good addition that comes with every dish is their egg floss and it accompanies the soup so well. The vegetables are also good with the bitter gourd not being too bitter for a bitter gourd hater like myself.
Megan — Google review
Instantly love this stall upon trying it. The soup is flavourful yet not overpowering. The fish slices are well marinated and soft. No fishy smell. I love their fried egg shred and always ordered extra. Also like that they have the bean paste sauce which goes well with the fish slice. Very popular store with long queue.

Second time here! OMG love love this stall!! Uncle taking order is friendly. But they only accept cash and always long queue around 12pm. Soup is light yet sweet… wa u have to try it urself ba. Recommend not to add milk :) their original tastes better. Generous amount of fried fish given at least 5 pcs!! The fried fish is not overly fried not dry and I can still bite into some crispy part despite soaked in the soup. Tom yum noodles- yummy as well! But the soup has a bit of a spice kick and there’s an egg as well. Totally recommend to try!!! 🤤

Lao Huo Tang has made quite a name for itself since its inception in 2018 at a hawker centre, evolving into a beloved chain across Singapore. This culinary gem specializes in traditional Chinese herbal soups that are crafted with care, using only fresh vegetables and lean meats to create naturally low-fat and low-calorie dishes. The absence of oil, cream, or butter ensures that each bowl is not just wholesome but also packed with authentic flavors.
Came here a few times. All the foods are yummy and delicious. Salted eggs prawns are fresh and fragrance. Vinegar pork trotter is good. Very savoury, sour and gingery

2nd visit, and I would say that 75% of the food choices are not bad. I was pretty impressed on 1st visit that they've gone beyond soup over the years. 👍 I certainly feel they deserve more customer crowds nonetheless.

Not too busy restaurant, get busier during lunch and dinner time. Soup is their signature with 1 time refill, reasonably priced; taste was okay. I strongly recommend their pumpkin rice.
C — Google review
Only the pumpkin rice, lotus soup and 3 egg spinach were good. The deep fried fish was served lukewarm, obviously pre fried and doused with mediocre bean sauce. Luckily the meat tasted fresh. Service staff (auntie with curly hair) had a bossy attitude and rude tone. She waved her hand in my face when I informed her politely that she missed out on one item in my order sheet. The other young girl has a much better service standard.

Zero walk in ever since I entered and only 2 items that needs to be cook still have to wait very long. Female staff standing inside using phone , the rest don’t know doing what. We delivery represent ur online customer as well. I have also taken photo to the customer that I am still here waiting don’t know for what. No staff wanna pack the food even when it’s ready.

Ordered via Foodpanda and the food portion is something that really threw us off - we have to caveat that we are not expecting bang for buck nor mountain amount of food. But exercise your judgement if you find the food portion given is fair or not. For us, it is RIDICULOUSLY SMALL given the high price tag. Everything came in atrociously tiny portion fit for one - the takeaway container for the stir-fried French beans is only 1/6 filled when it arrived, all for a price of $14.80. We thought it was a joke until we realised it is only 3 tablespoonfuls worth, and the portion is so pathetic the number of French bean is almost countable from the portion. Also, we were given 8 PUNY pieces of pepper prawn which costed us $23.80 - I normally wouldn’t mind if the prawns are any bigger, like Dian Xiao Er’s, but it is DAYLIGHT ROBBERY for $3 per piece of prawn that is smaller than my pinky. Even the soup feels watered down, and the container used is smaller. Shrinkflation is very real and I can empathise with F&B businesses and their cost pressures, but this is OUTRIGHT UNETHICAL and we felt cheated having spent $60 on a supposedly celebratory dinner only to receive our food that couldn’t even fill 3 adults (2 dishes, 1 soup). I definitely will not support Lao Huo Tang in the future and recommend that you do not, too, if you’re reading this review.

At lunchtime, I visited Laohuotang with my family. The environment here was quiet and there were few people. The waiter Lihui and Allen had a good service attitude. The waiter's recommended dishes were also good, especially salted egg cod fish and Bak Kwa fried rice. Thank you for their service. We will visit Laohuotang again next time.

Nestled within the luxurious JW Marriott Singapore South Beach, Madame Fan is a chic destination for those seeking an elevated dim sum experience. Their Ultimate Dim Sum Lunch, available on weekdays, features exquisite selections like Black Truffle Dumplings and Crispy Duck Rolls. On weekends, the Cocktail Dim Sum Brunch takes it up a notch with an expansive menu that includes delights such as Japanese Crown Daisy Shrimp Dumplings and Steamed Boston Lobster.
We had a private room for 14 and enjoyed a course meal. The restaurant was very attentive to our dietary requirements—they customized dishes accordingly: substituting beef with pork or chicken for some guests, and offering a vegetarian option as well. The meal was well-balanced, though having two soupy dishes felt a bit repetitive. Flavors leaned slightly salty but likely suited for a wide range of palates. Lovely ambience for hosting, with excellent service and friendly staff.

Was invited to a business dinner at Madam Fan – JW Marriott’s stylish Cantonese restaurant. Ambience was elegant and dinner was enjoyable overall, but a few misses stood out. 🍴 While some dishes were good, a few items on the menu felt quite mediocre. 🍨 Dessert was disappointing – looked and tasted like a tin fruit cocktail sad 🥗 One of our key guests, who doesn’t eat meat, fish, chicken, or cheese, was only served a plain bowl of salad – not quite what you’d expect at a fine dining venue. Great setting, service but resturant let down by it's chef but room for improvement in menu variety and guest consideration.

High end Cantonese style restaurant with very classy ambience and excellent service. Visited during Monday lunchtime and the restaurant was still pretty packed. While the ambience was excellent, it can get quite noisy as the lunch crowd tends to be on business agenda and can be chatting quite loudly. Food wise I really like the pork rip soup and the lobster main course which serves half a lobster in spicy chilli sauce aka chilli crab style . The dim sum was ok but was nothing extraordinary. The executive lunch Set also have a vegetarian options which was nice. Service was excellent and staff were always attentive and proactive to fill up hot tea when required.

The old Britannia then NCO club. Nice environs, several private dining rooms within, main dining area is nice, but the tables with the circular benches have insufficient back support. Had SGD$90 dim sum buffet. Generally ok, although some hit n misses with skins of some items too thick {for $90}. Dessert could have been better. Thanks to lack of manpower nation wide, service was lacking a little, some items were forgotten or added on when not ordered. No free parking. Ambivalent about return visit.

fine dining place. We ordered a $148++ per pax set menu and top up $48++ each for a lobster. One of my friend stays with the lamb steak, and I find the portion quite small. The lobster is good, and is half lobster per serving. The fish is a bit salty with the soya sauce, and just taste ok, Overall, still worth a try!
Chris — Google review
Brunch at Madame Fan Dim Sum Buffet. Thanks for the Birthday Celebration 🎂 But still everything shall not be compromise and I added another Star for the Effort🙏🏻 1. Food Quality The overall food quality was acceptable. Certain dishes were served at a lukewarm temperature, which detracted from the expected dining standard. Menu items follow different serving portions: some were served per headcount, while others were served per order. This inconsistency was not communicated clearly to guests, resulting in confusion. 2. Service Standards Service delivery fell short of expectations for a venue positioned as an exclusive dining destination. Staff knowledge of menu portions and service standards requires improvement. During order taking, the female staff in a white uniform conversed in Mandarin but displayed reluctance, minimal enthusiasm, and little initiative in recommending dishes. This reflects poorly on customer engagement. The bespectacled male manager in black attire demonstrated an aloof attitude (“高高在上”), giving an impression of condescension towards guests. On a positive note, gentleman in white uniform with spec and the gentleman in black (Korean-looking) displayed commendable service etiquette when delivering dishes to the table. 3. Service Training Needs Frontline service staff should undergo structured training on: Proper guest engagement and product knowledge. Maintaining consistent service enthusiasm. Professional body language and attitude, especially in high-end dining settings. Clear communication of portioning policies (per headcount vs. per serving). 4. Overall Assessment While the buffet menu offered a decent variety and acceptable food quality, the service experience did not align with the exclusivity and premium positioning that Madame Fan intends to project. Service staff professionalism and consistency require immediate enhancement to meet the expectations of discerning guests.

ZZ Sup Tulang Restaurant, located in Kampung Bahru, Johor, is renowned for its rich and spicy bone soup, a traditional Malay delicacy that offers both flavor and comfort. The casual setting of the restaurant provides the perfect ambiance to savor this unique and hearty dish. Additionally, the eatery features straw-woven canopies with picnic-style sets for an authentic kampung-style dining experience.
Great food as always. Last time I was here, was back in 2023. Every time we are back in JB to see families, the kids make it their Number 1 must go for breakfast. Traditional settings under the tree canopy. Food are the best and very affordable. MUST TRY!

Decent food for the price. The mee rebus in particular was full ingredients. The fried chicken was well done, crisp and moist. The lamb tulang was also tender and tasty. The soup though was a bit of a let down. Very much a soto, it lacked the punch needed to complement the gearbox. I suggest pairing the gearbox with the mee rebus instead. Overall a strong recommend.

Another off the beaten track find !!! This old Kampong styled restaurant has single floor zinc roof, timber flooring and modern seating for customers to decide. Their Sop Kambing Tulang, which is lamb bone with Marrow and meat, is One of the Authentic Best that I have tasted!!! Cooked with a slight tinge of lamb flavouring, the chef had made it possible for every diner to enjoy. We also had their Special Lamb Marrow Mee Rebus, served with thick sauce and cut green chilli - a must try !!! Other dishes includes rendang, sauces and goreng. A not to miss place .. good for couples, families and groups. Staff's are helpful and friendly.... they will explain the dishes so you know what to order.

I always stop here whenever I am in JB. Food is lovely and the crew are very helpful. The area is huge, so shout if you need assistant from the crew. I love the Mee Rebus (yellow noodle in thick beef broth). Foreigner who is 1st time in Johor, this is A MUST STOP place. The restaurant is an open air. A "restaurant in the jungle" concept and it can be a fun and unique dining experience for you. Before ordering your food, you can take a walk and visit their food counter. Toilets are available but it is not a dry toilet. Each visit, I wish the owner can make-over the toilet to a better one.

Ate there with my family and partner on a Sunday evening without reservation. Surprisingly no queue at all compared to the other restaurants. Later then I realised why. Here are the dishes we got: 1. Tofu with Salt & Pepper: Honestly the dish doesn’t look appealing at all, regretted getting this dish. It’s just fried tofu with salt & pepper as seasoning on the side. Perhaps we should have ordered the Crispy Bursting Tofu 2. Green Long Beans with Pork and Chilli: Not too bad taste, wasn’t too spicy 3. Spicy Popcorn Chicken: Looks very huge when it was served but 70% is covered by mala chilli, mala pepper & garlic, 30% chicken. Quite spicy so very shiok. But we disappointed as we felt we didn’t eat enough of this dish. 4. Stir Fried Pork: Very yummy but the portion just too little to feed a family. At most for 2 pax only. In totality while the food taste allright, the portions are really small so we kinda got hungry 1h after the dinner. Don’t think I’ll be back here again

Thought of giving this a try when the upstairs waiting list was too long. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food were! All were "rice-thief" dishes! Our family of 5 ate till we were filled, tried the whole series of fruit tea which were so refreshing and had the rice wine/milk dessert for a nice ending. Will definitely come back again as the chicken soup was sold out. Only bad point, aircon not cold :( we were perspiring while eating.

Came on a public holiday dinner and thankfully there’s seats immediately which was quite rare I believe. We got the chicken soup which was so comfy to drink though the chicken was a tad too dry. I particularly like the green dragon veges with beansprouts too. The lychee prawn ball was quite disappointing in taste though it does look very appetising. Claypot tofu wasn’t too bad and the sauce goes well with rice.

Lunch at Yunnans in Westgate on a weekend was enjoyable, with no queues and a relaxed atmosphere. The meal featured a mix of flavors and textures that left a good impression. The Claypot Chicken Soup ($30) was a standout for its clean, soothing taste. Accompanied by a side of fresh sprouts and vegetables, it offered a light and refreshing contrast to the spicier dish of the meal. The La Zi Ji was particularly special, showcasing a unique variety of crisp-fried chilies. The larger chilies were delightfully crunchy rather than leathery, and the dish was heavily seasoned and aromatic, making it a flavorful counterpoint to the soup’s simplicity. While the service was decent, the steamed rice fell slightly short, lacking the beady, pearl-like quality found at other Chinese restaurants such as Xiang Xiang. Despite this, the meal overall was enjoyable, with thoughtful preparation and well-balanced flavors. Yunnans is a good option for a satisfying Chinese meal in Westgate, offering flavorful dishes and a pleasant dining experience given the ambience, however it must be noted that their ceiling aircon vents are filled with black mould which is quite a health hazard.

Very nice yun nan cuisine, well spiced and not too oily. Love the sour veg fish 酸菜鱼, fish slices are super fresh, not too salty/msg based, soup still drinkable. Lychee prawn mall was the unique offering here, fried well and tasty. The others were tasty and average.

Very worth it for the price as there is 25% off with grabpay till 2nd April. I particularly liked the desserts, especially the rice wine dessert, which is not pictured because we all enjoyed it too much and devoured it before a picture could be taken. The baked rose pastry was also a pleasant surprise as it was served warm. Of the cooked dishes I liked the braised wheat pumpkin best as it has the most unique taste. The toufu was abit of a disappointment - its name was “bursting tofu” so we expected something to burst out of it but it was flat and ordinary. Overall a good experience especially with the discount.

Earth Jar Treasure, also known as "瓮中宝," is a hidden gem that offers a variety of flavorful herbal soups served in large earth pots. The Ginseng Chicken Soup features clear broth with a sweet herbal aftertaste and tender chicken meat. The Lotus Root soup is piping hot and refreshing, while the Watercress and Pork Rib soup comes in generous servings perfect for sharing.
This was so good!!! We ordered the emperor chicken (half a chicken) for $16, just nice for two people! The chicken was fall off the bone tender, and the soup was soooo good I wish there was more! I don’t know how they cook it but the ginseng wasn’t bitter at all, we finished it too! Definitely would come back again

十全鸭汤was very herbal and robust, not for the fainted hearted. Loved it. Lotus root soup was very well balanced, loved it too. 西洋菜汤 wasnt the best i had, but still pretty decent. Overall, place definitely worth a visit.

They make a variety of herbal and non herbal soups. Boiled for hours! To supplement it as a meal, there are side dishes to add to make it a full lunch or dinner! Seriously quite good! Perfect for those wet rainy days.

Here's a possible way to describe your experience more clearly and naturally, especially if you're planning to leave a review: --- Tried the lotus root soup and it definitely has that authentic herbal flavor, which I appreciated. However, the portion was a bit disappointing—more than half the bowl was taken up by a large chunk of meat and the herbal pouch, with only a few pieces of lotus root. The meat was thick and not very enjoyable to eat. I remember back in the day they focused only on soups, which seemed better then. At $7.90, it feels a bit underwhelming for what you get.😅

Tried the Chinese Herbal Duck Soup 十全鸭汤, something rarely found in other soup stalls. In general the soup was good though I would prefer it to be more bitter with Dang Gui 当归 probably than the sweetness for the soup. It came with a bag of herbs and 4 pieces of duck meat. Overall not expensive for the price of $8. Probably can try other soups it has too.

= Lunch crowd mainly comes from the nearby Sin Ming industrial estate. + Sells herbal soups + some zichar side dishes: = Pork rib soup $6 = Herbal chicken soup $7.50 = Sambal lala/ squid, petai, kangkong, bean sprouts, omelette + There's a 3-storey MSCP with elevator right next door.

Ordered great health duck soup for $8. Dou miao cost $7. It is ridiculously expensive. Duck meat wise and other things to eat is really nothing nice. Soup was decent, is really for the health benefit if anything. Can finish the whole pot. Dou miao taste good but it is too expensive maybe $3 or $4... Why need such a huge margin?

If looking for a hot soupy meal, this place is fantastic when beginning to compare to other obvious competitors in shopping malls. While prices may be slightly on the higher end for coffee shop food around the area, they do not disappoint in terms of quality or quantity of proteins found in there. The family particularly enjoyed the old melon and the salted duck soup. Like old school coffee shops, uncle still takes your order, brings your food to you, and collects money from you there.

Tai Seng Turtle Soup is a delightful culinary experience that showcases the rich tradition of Chinese herbal broths. This unique dish features tender, gelatinous meat from soft-shelled tortoises, simmered with an array of herbs and ingredients like watercress and wolfberries. Renowned for its cooling properties, this soup is not only delicious but also celebrated for its medicinal benefits—perfect for those under the weather.
Tucked away near the corner of a quiet mall, this eatery was a rare find indeed. Immediately as I walked in, I was greeted by a tantalising herbal aroma that permeated the restaurant. My friend and I opted for the $24 turtle soup and some prawn paste chicken to share. We were blown away by the tenderness of the turtle meat and uniquely heartwarming quality to the soup. The owner of the place was incredibly friendly and generously topped up our bowls with copious amounts of stock at his own initiative. Even the prawn paste chicken almost sent us to the high heavens---freshly fried, it was crispy on the outside and succulent on the inside. 10/10 would recommend

Nice and chill little shop that serves turtle, crocodile and chicken. They have been serving these delicious soups for over 20 years! Soup leans toward the herbal type and isn’t too rich, just nice for the tongue. Ambience is nice and cooling and the boss is very friendly!

My 1st time drinking turtle soup and is very tasty. I dun dare to order crocodile soup but I will try next time. Omelette and veggie nice too. We take away prawn paste chicken, which is not in the photo, find it abit bland. Owner is friendly, shop is clean. Animal seems from ethical source. Definitely will come back again.

Stepping into Tai Seng Turtle Soup, I didn’t know what to expect. However, one sip of their herbal turtle soup was all it took to blow my mind. The rich, aromatic broth was a perfect balance of herbs and spices, each spoonful bursting with deep, comforting flavors that lingered long after the meal. The turtle skin was tender and succulent, absorbing meat essence of the soup beautifully. But the surprises didn’t end there. The prawn paste deep-fried chicken was a hidden gem on the menu, and quite possibly the best I’ve had in Singapore. The crispy, golden-brown exterior gave way to juicy, flavorful chicken, with the prawn paste adding a unique umami kick that elevated the dish to extraordinary heights. Every bite was a delightful crunch, leaving me craving more. Another standout dish was the claypot crocodile tail. Served piping hot, the meat was incredibly tender, and the crocodile skin had a uniquely jelly-like texture that was both intriguing and delicious. The robust flavours of the claypot’s rich sauce perfectly complemented the crocodile tail, creating a savoury and slightly sweet profile that made it a truly tasty and memorable dish.
Alex L — Google review
Absolutely love this traditional cuisine. The turtle is bred for consumption by the way. So it’s ethically sourced. The soup was my life saver whenever I catch a cold. It helps to improve the “yang” in me and really tasted awesome. The price is worth it! Best of all, you can top up the soup. Had been visiting this since I was a kid when me dad brought me to the original shop more than 40 years ago. It’s worth a visit as it’s really a dying trade. Once this is gone, it will be lost forever!

Authentic turtle soup served in a family-friendly environment. Specialities include both turtle soup and crocodile soup; sides include fried chicken wings (always a hit with the kids), omelette, fish cake and vegetables. The turtle soup is neither overly herbal or salty, strikes a good balance between meat and collagen-rich skin pieces, and goes down very well with yam rice. Share a large bowl of soup in a group, or get your very own bowl of soup to enjoy!
C C — Google review
Turtle soup was not a strong herbal type. Lightly herbal with a tinge of sweetness. $18 was the smallest, enough meat (bite size) to eat w a bowl of rice. IMHO prefers geylang one

Nestled in the basement of Republic Plaza, The Herbal Bar is a charming eatery that primarily serves the bustling Central Business District crowd. This cozy spot specializes in traditional Chinese soups, lovingly crafted from recipes passed down through generations. Each soup is meticulously double-boiled in porcelain pots to ensure rich flavors without relying on MSG and with reduced salt, sugar, and oil content.
I stopped posting reviews since covid. This habit stuck til now. Came here for my usual 10min lunch and chatted with owner while I was tabaoing my dessert. To all the recent haters in the comments: we went through three horrific years of pandemic restrictions and have now entered a cycle of severe inflation; cursing small businesses only brings shame to yourselves. Let that sink in. I finished my food. It's definitely not some wow lunch that a natural hater would expect I guess. But the shop is clean. We r all fully served with no extra charge. My mouth never gets dry from the food here. 1240pm, it wasn't packed like old days but the staff were still turning over the patrons very fast.

$18.6 (without any delivery fee included) for this portion is a bit too sad. It really is not double boiled nor is worth more than $5 maximum… Very sad to have ordered this for my sick friend.

One of my fave places for lunch in the CBD - enjoy a bowl of tasty and healthy (MSG-free) double boiled soup with premium ingredients! Comforting cause you can drink your soup in an air conditioned environment. I like to stock up on their well packaged broths for convenient home cooking too. Soup Restaurant B1 of Republic Plaza. Very good source for nourishing soups in the CBD. The quality is higher than hawker stalls Lau Pa Sat too. However, the price is a bit higher to match. Their combos are reasonably priced and the wine chicken and other add ons are good value too. Friendly staff and clean seating area. Only gripe is that there are long queues at lunch and they run out of popular soups by dinner.

If you're on the hunt for a unique culinary experience in Singapore, look no further than Yu Ji Pig’s Organ Soup Herbal Mutton Soup. Nestled within a bustling hawker center, this stall offers an enticing array of flavors that are sure to delight your taste buds. The pig organ soup is a standout dish, priced at around $4.80 and served with rice for just 70 cents.
Was looking for dinner at the hawker center and chanced upon this stall. Ordered pig organ soup ($4.80) + rice ($0.70). I think that it is really delicious! Was quite shocked to see the low ratings on Google. I think the price is ok considering that food is generally in this price range. The pig organs also taste really good and no bad smell, the soup is not overly peppery and is very fragrant and easy to drink. I hope everyone don't give this a pass because of bad ratings, come and try it and rate it yourself 😄

Got the mutton soup for $7.20 with rice. It was so tasty that I got another bowl of rice for $0.70. And they can give a little more soup for free too! Definitely coming back to try other food on the menu :)
Bosco M — Google review
3½⭐actually. $8 with hefty loads of meat, it's so worth it. Because it's full of meat, naturally it is collagenic and hence soup will taste good.
Bli L — Google review
I made a big mistake again. Should have read the reviews before ordering. Ordered the pig organ soup. Don't taste great TBH, soup was very bland, not worth it. The most shocking thing is one small bowl of white rice (Doesn't come with the soup, have to order separately) cost you $0.70... Siao bo, $0.70 for a small bowl of rice, made from Japan or what... Portion is okay, but overall not worth the bang. Not recommended. (no wonder there's no queue alamak, should have realized it).
Ken P — Google review
I ordered the pig organ soup $6 bucks and the ingredients are so little. There’s only one piece of pig stomach inside. Pathetic. Soup only taste salty nothing to rave about. And the service staff is so rude, he made me feel like I owe him money and shouting at me etc when I tried to pay using cdc voucher and he said he won’t give change. I won’t patronise this shop again

First try on their herbal mutton soup. Two sizes soup. I got a small bowl soup with rice for $7.00. Reasonable. There is non of the heavy mutton smell or the overpowering herbs. The soup is light and fragrant. Add in some white vinegar and it cuts through the somewhat oily broth. Then again, what’s a mutton soup without the oil. The mutton was tender and reasonable pieces for a small bowl. I finished drinking the whole bowl of soup! Will be back to try their pig’s organ soup!!

Song Fa Bak Kut Teh 11 New Bridge Road is a popular eatery where people eagerly wait in line for its delicious bak kut teh and braised meats. The restaurant has a rich history, starting as a humble street pushcart in 1969 and now boasting multiple outlets across Singapore and Asia. Their signature dish is the peppery and herbal pork rib soup, available in two sizes.
Super yummy and comforting meal! The pork rib soup was rich, bold, and perfectly peppery – the pork was super tender and fell right off the bone. Loved that they refill the soup too! The braised large intestines were flavorful and well-prepared, and the iced lemon tea was a great refreshing balance to the heat. Definitely a must-try for anyone craving a classic Singaporean bak kut teh experience. Do prepare for a queue – I waited around 10–15 minutes, but they were so sweet to offer a fan and a drink while waiting, which made the experience really pleasant.
Heidi — Google review
Great place, deserves its michelen stars. There was the queue to enter, but it was not so long, around 30 minutes, not over. While I was waiting, I was offered the small fan (on the back side, you can see all chain restaurants in Singapore. Than they gave the small paper with queue number, you can pre-order food while waiting, it was very convenient. I have ordered pork rib soup and pork tenderloin. It was super delicious, only they offered to refill the soup if you have finished it. Perfect and highly recommended!

Not actually bad the Bakuteh. The pork ribs are very tasty. And the tea also strong and nice. Staffs were quite attentive. But found dish-wash scouring pad after I finished my meal.🙃🙈
O ( — Google review
I know this brand might be quite popular in Singapore, but for me, the actual experience this time was just average in terms of taste. Their bak kut teh soup is pretty decent and has some unique flavor, but if you try other dishes, the taste is really average—at least for me, it wasn’t anything impressive. Overall, I think it’s not as good as the lotus root and pork rib soup from Wuhan. There were a lot of customers, and I waited in line for about 10 minutes. The seating inside was quite cramped. At first, somehow, our table didn’t have the condiment rack like the other tables. I had to ask twice before the staff finally provided it. In addition, I saw a flie in the restaurant, and it landed on the plates or table multiple times—I had to wave it away several times. So annoying. 😳
Howie — Google review
Overrated and Poor Service Waited over 20 minutes at this Michelin-recommended spot. While the welcome drink was a nice touch, they only accepted cash or Alipay due to a machine issue—with no prior notice. Food was okay, but the service was terrible. Staff were unfriendly and couldn’t communicate in English, which made things difficult as a tourist. When I complained about undercooked noodles, there was no apology, and they were still not properly cooked when returned. Asking for a napkin resulted in being scolded and told I had to pay for it—which felt very unwelcoming. Despite the wait, there were plenty of empty tables inside. Would not recommend for tourists. Disappointing overall.

If you're looking for an authentic taste of Singaporean local food, you've got to try Bak Kut Teh, and Song Fa is definitely the place to do it. This popular dish is a peppery, savory pork rib soup, and it's commonly enjoyed with a bowl of white rice or alongside "油条 / Dough Fritters" for dipping. Song Fa is a renowned establishment with a impressive track record, boasting 14 outlets across Singapore and earning the Michelin Bib Gourmand award for eight consecutive years (2016-2024). Their menu features their signature Bak Kut Teh Soup Dishes, along with Braised Dishes, various vegetable sides, and small plates. They also have a good selection of Chinese teas to complement your meal. Now, let's talk about the Bak Kut Teh itself. The pork ribs are incredibly tender and fall-off-the-bone, yet still have a satisfying texture. The quality of the meat is excellent—you can really taste the rich pork flavor, and there's absolutely no smell. The soup is a clear, flavorful broth, bursting with the essence of pork and pork bones. It's a delightful blend of salty notes with a strong kick of white pepper, plus a wonderful aroma and taste of garlic. A fantastic bonus at Song Fa is that soup refills are free! For those who want to savor the pure meatiness, I highly recommend the "特级龙骨汤 / Premium Loin Rib Soup." If you prefer to enjoy the sweet, melt-in-your-mouth fattiness, then the "排骨肉骨茶 / Pork Ribs Soup" is the way to go!

The food comes out quickly once you’re seated. The food was good. The bak kut teh was especially nice, and they offer unlimited refills of the broth. I liked the other dishes as well. I also had lemon tea, which was sweet and pleasant. Even with the long wait, the place is worth trying.

Great place for old school dim sum. It has a good variety of traditional dim sum that is hard to find in other restaurants in Singapore now, eg the stew pomelo skin, the dace fish ball and also the thin skin fried wanton. The char siew bao skin is too thick for me. The service is tip top and Amazing! Had the pleasure of enjoying a dim sum lunch at Shang Palace, and it was truly exceptional from start to finish. The setting strikes that perfect balance between elegance and warmth — refined yet inviting, making it a wonderful spot for both special occasions and relaxed gatherings. The dim sum itself was outstanding. Every dish was meticulously crafted, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The har gow were delicate with just the right bounce to the prawn, while the siew mai was generously packed and perfectly seasoned. The char siu bao had that ideal fluffy texture with a rich, smoky-sweet filling that lingered on the palate. I was especially impressed with the more creative offerings — traditional favorites elevated with subtle, modern touches that never felt forced. Service was impeccable: attentive without being intrusive, with the team always ready to share recommendations and explain the nuances of each dish. What makes Shang Palace stand out is the consistency — every bite feels like a thoughtful showcase of culinary artistry and heritage. It’s not just a dim sum lunch; it’s an experience that reminds you why Cantonese cuisine is so beloved. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a top-tier dim sum experience in a setting that honors tradition while embracing refinement

Have been wanting to try the food at Shang Palace and finally made our reservations when we saw the Voyage Gourmet at Shang. The restaurant was tastefully and beautifully decorated, mostly in red. They really brought out the taste very well. I would definitely visit here again to try their foods on the menu. Wonderful service and food!

Dim Sum Lunch at Shang Palace once again. Steam dumpling with assorted seafood, fish maw and abalone in supreme broth is a must order. Another favourite is the steamed crystal dumpling with assorted mushroom and black truffle a must order. The usual suspects of Shrimp dumplings, Siew Mai, Xiao long bao, rice flour roll with shrimp and BbQ pork. The unusual bean curd skin with foie gras and scallop and deep fried spring roll with shredded roasted duck and chives. From the alacarte menu, we had the crispy chicken, spinach with salted egg and a beef hor fun. The red bean shaved ice and herbal jelly desserts was ok. Lunch was yummilicious. The service wasn’t as good as before and if the staff put in more effort it would be a perfect 5/5.

The restaurant is elegantly decorated. We had the ah-ma-kase and the Peranakan dishes were rich, flavourful and delicious, but the portions were small. We also enjoyed the stories behind the dishes from our amazing server. A reservation is highly recommended.

The pricing is actually quite reasonable for a starred spot. They have both a la carte and set menu options. The set menu is called Ah Mah Kase which is quite cute. I went with a la carte because I knew I could not finish the full set. The flavours lean quite strong so you definitely need rice with most of the dishes. My favourite items were the Wagyu beef satay and the mixed vegetables. The rest felt a bit too strong for me and I usually handle spice. Dessert was a win though the coconut ice cream was especially good and it is hard to find really good coconut ice cream in Singapore. Their cocktail list is also quite fun with local ingredient twists and I enjoyed those too. Overall I think it is delicious and the atmosphere is great for dinner, although there are other places with similar cuisine that I personally prefer for certain dishes. It was still worth trying and I am glad I finally went.

Candlenut is a Michelin-starred Nyonya restaurant. Since we had planned to visit the Orchid Garden first, we chose this unique restaurant because it was nearby. We ordered several dishes, all of which were quite good, although we were surprised by the small portion of chicken skewers (each of them were the same size of my little finger😅). The other dishes served with rice were very tasty. The free birthday rice cakes were yummy! The ambiance and service were also quite good, but I felt overall it was still quite pricey.

We attended Candlenut tonight because my friend had watched an episode of Somebody Feed Phil and she had decided that when we visit Singapore to make sure to come to this restaurant. When we walked in the restaurant we noticed the gorgeous lightings which added a great accent to the atmosphere. The food was a delight and we had a few dishes between us. The crab curry was our favourite and my personal favourite was the Buah Keluak Ice Cream. Apart from the food, the other highlight was the exceptional service we were provided. I have to commend our service staff Arvin who went above and beyond to make our night an unforgettable one. He was knowledgeable about the menu, Peranakan cuisine and all the ingredient component. The other person we would like to thank is Krishna(Mike) who gave us an insight about Candlenut but also shared a great conversation with him. We would like to thank everyone other staff who worked tonight and we will definitely be back when we are in Singapore. Cheers, Devi

Candlenut more than lived up to its one-star reputation - it impressed on every front. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Benjamin, the restaurant manager, whose graciousness set the tone for the evening. Our server Felix was an absolute delight — warm, witty, confident, and effortlessly professional. His service struck the perfect balance between attentiveness and ease, with just the right touch of humour. We opted for the Ah-Ma-Kase menu, a creative Peranakan journey thoughtfully presented. Felix took time to explain every dish and guided us on the order in which to enjoy each course - a small but thoughtful touch that enhanced the experience. Of particular mention were the barramundi and crab curry, both cooked to perfection and bursting with layered flavours. But it was the desserts that stole the show. The banana cake was ethereal - the caramelised banana compote added a toffee-like richness that elevated the dish. The tapioca slice with brûlée custard topping was nothing short of divine - the tapioca’s gentle savouriness perfectly balanced by the silky custard and the subtle bitterness and crunch of the brûléed brown sugar. And then, an unexpected bonus — my perennial favourite, kueh salat — with beautifully steamed rice and a pandan kaya layer that was delicately set and wonderfully fragrant. Service recovery, too, was handled with grace. I had requested a substitution for the beef rendang due to dietary preferences, which was initially confirmed but overlooked during service. Benjamin immediately apologised, and although I was perfectly content to continue the meal, he insisted on making amends — sending out two servings of chicken curry and drinks on the house. It was a thoughtful gesture that reflected the restaurant’s commitment to genuine hospitality. All in all, it was a fabulous evening - delicious food, impeccable service, and a personal touch that made the birthday celebration truly special. Would I go back to Candlenut? Absolutely — without hesitation. Thank you, Benjamin and Felix, for making the evening so memorable for our birthday guest and for all of us who shared in the joy.

Came here for birthday lunch, Jesper our waiter was absolutely fantastic — incredibly attentive without being intrusive. They noticed everything we needed before we even had to ask! Exceptional service that made our meal even more enjoyable.

Restaurant
Shashlik Restaurant, a long-standing establishment since 1963, is known for its delectable skewered meats and deep-fried corndog chicken. After a brief hiatus in 2015, the restaurant has made a triumphant return. One of their must-try desserts is the Baked Alaska, an ice cream meringue cake flambeed with dark rum right before your eyes.
Russian food with a taste of Hainanese style. I ordered their lunch set menu which comes with a choice of soup and coffee or tea at only $22. I ordered the Kurobuta Pork and French onion soup. The kurobuta pork came with a fried chicken rice ball and chicken rice chilli which came to me as a surprise ! The pork was juicy and tender. Also ordered the Caviar and Bliini at $20 with their house made sour cream and pancake. However I do find the sour cream overpowering the caviar. The French onion soup was very flavorful and good as a starter. It's a restaurant with close to 40 years of history. Very affordable prices. Worth a visit !

Interesting menu. Russian food isn’t so common in Singapore but this has a distinctive local twist. My beef stroganoff came with chicken rice! Beef was very tender. The borscht was good too - my fave dish of the night. It’s a nice, quiet place to come to for dinner. I also enjoyed looking at the newspaper clippings and memorabilia mounted on the walls. This place has been around for a long time so the nostalgia factor is high. The service staff add to the nostalgia. Very friendly and attentive aunties who genuinely seem to enjoy working here.

The restaurant has been newly renovated, so the atmosphere is fine. The service is friendly, though somewhat curt and unpolished especially when trying to ask us what dessert or drinks to order. Chased us several times to leave at 2.50pm, as they need to rest from 3pm onwards. Most disappointingly, the food did not meet expectations. The blue fire ribs were very tough and dry. The meat stuffing on the stuffed portobello was very rough and the cheese sauce was a bit coy. The stuffed crab shell was also plainly seasoned and the thick bread crumbs on top distracted us from the crab taste. Spent $200 for 2 pax for lunch, even though we ordered only 1 drink. The starters are $25-30 each. Poor value for money. Overall it is expensive for the quality of food.

Yes, nice, neat and clean interior. Like an old-school coffee house. It's good. Comfortable and the tables are nicely spaced apart from one another. Around $50-60 per person. Good food. Went there today. Better than my memory of eating there about 2 decades ago.

First time at a lovely find in Far East Shopping Mall! Shashlik is a hidden gem of a restaurant with a rich history, unique Russian-Hainanese cuisine and a homely atmosphere. I recommend coming on a weekday lunch to get the most value from their lunch deals. There were also many local patrons, which speaks to its local heritage value. I would like to commend Auntie Apple, who made the visit endearing and comfortable. She was very forthcoming in providing serving recommendations. She was attentive as well, offering to take a photo for us when she realised we were on a date. I can tell she is passionate about her work and enjoys interacting with guests. We quickly felt well taken care of thanks to her. Food: we had the - Pork Shashlik: Delicious two pieces of meat and a side of coleslaw and assorted veggies. Despite not having a sauce, the pork was well seasoned and cooked to the right temperature with both lean and fat parts. I thought it could do with more— perhaps the slaw could be more tart or tangy, paired with a side of mash to take the edge off the meatiness of the dish. It’s a great sharing portion though. - Hainanese Pork Chop: Melt in your mouth pork cutlet with deep fried rice balls, served with Hainanese chilli and BBQ sauce. Really tender and juicy meat, highly recommend this dish! - Borsch Soup: Deliciously rich but balanced soup, the first sip warmed me up immediately, a great starter. - Russian Coffee: This was served to us table side with the waitress auntie Apple heating up the glass, vodka and then composing the drink. Most delicious beverage I’ve ever had. It went so well with the Shashlik. - Russian Blinis This was the most underwhelming dish frankly (sorry to the Russians). Despite there being caviar, I thought it was unimaginative and not very value for money, would save the $20 for something else. The prices were in the higher end especially for the starters and soups but we will consider coming back for the candid and homely service as well as the heartwarming and memorable food!

The atmosphere and service were excellent, very nostalgic and cozy. However, some of the food was not as high quality as I would have expected for the price point. The shashlik beef was extremely tough, likely due to the cut of meat used, and i did not find the hot plate was sufficient to cook it to tenderness. The eggs millionaire seemed a little overcooked. The borscht soup was nice and the bone marrow was excellent, though! I particularly enjoyed the soft rolls served with the soup, especially when eaten with butter.

fourth time visiting and i’ve enjoyed every single meal here. staff are friendly, helpful and go to lengths to clarify on our orders and clear the table between courses for our comfort. personal favorites include the soups and chicken kiev, though of course the beef is also delicious. prices are on par with other fancy dinner places in the area and very much worth the cost in my opinion. a clean and tidy place with a stylish vibe, quiet and far more enjoyable to enjoy a meal at than many other establishments in the area. def would recommend!

Had a gathering with my friends here and had a really enjoyable time and dinner. For appetizers, we had the upside down crab, Portobello mushroom and smoked duck salad. Everything was so tasty. For mains, we had shaslik beef (my friends were raving about it), blue fire ribs (with flambe) and halibut fish wrapped in paper. And we finished it up with the dessert baked alaska, also flambe. All were amazing and everything was done right. It's the first time i tried the halibut in paper and i thought it was done really nice. That left a deep impression. We had really great service by Apple, who also took amazing photos of the group!

Restaurant
The Blue Ginger in Tanjong Pagar is an authentic Peranakan restaurant known for its warm atmosphere and traditional dishes. The interior reflects the rich Peranakan culture, offering a homely and intimate dining experience. This popular spot has earned Michelin Bib Gourmand distinction, making it a favorite among locals and tourists alike. Additionally, the restaurant is MUIS Halal-certified, catering to a wide range of diners.
I went to The Blue Ginger Nyonya Restaurant with my friends this evening and absolutely loved both the atmosphere and the food. The dishes were authentic and full of flavour, and the prices were quite reasonable. I’d rate the food 4.3/ 5 , definitely a spot I’d recommend to others

Overall a wonderful dining experience with the exception that they did not seat us at our reserved time despite the reservation being on the list because the whole party was not there. We had to walk to ever floor and look for the host multiple times. When all arrived there was no table. They did finally accommodate us but then moved once a real table opened up. The food was delicious though and worth the wait. Very well spiced and extremely flavorful. Once they believed we were reserved customers the service was excellent.

We ordered 2 portions for certain dishes but did not enjoy that they combine the portions together. Food was just alright as there are better ones out there. Nothing I can woah about at Blue Ginger but just the price a bit too steep.

Great Peranakan cuisine, offered at a fair price given that it is a Michelin restaurant. The prawn appetizer was astonishingly palatable, and the main dishes did not disappoint either. Some of the dishes were slightly spicy, but they were indicated on the menu. Worth a try.
Pui C — Google review
Went to this place because I read up about their Michelin status. As a lover for Peranakan food, we ordered 8 dishes for 2 person which totalled SGD165. The food we ordered were basically chef recommendations. Food portion were small, and there wasn’t much vegetable in chap Chye but it was full of Tung Hoon. Meat in Ayam Buah Keluak and Beef Rendang were tough and the meat will be tasteless without the sauce. their kueh pie tee as it was filled with grounded shrimp. A huge disappointment for an award winning restaurant. Do remember to read the small writing about their miscellaneous charge. Achar, Small plate of sambal chilli and free flow of rice for $3 per pax (before service charge), we did not take the pickle (achar) because we do not eat that but still have to pay the whole $3 per pax. they just put it on your table without telling you. Nonetheless the staff service was good. Thats the second plus point. In my opinion, $165 can be better spent on another Peranakan dinning place with cheaper option and better food quality.

📍 Overall: 4.5/5 traditional Peranakan dishes in a cozy place, well deserved Michelin restaurant. Not sure if there's a level 2 for customers but I've seen people going upstairs through a door. However, the white rice dried very quickly while we are eating, there goes the 0.5 points. Hopefully, they can improve on the rice. Kueh Pie Tee 5/5 - great to start off with, and would want to eat more if my stomach wasn't that full. Ayam Panggang "Blue Ginger" 5/5 - must have!! Their signature dish, very delicious. Chap Chye 4/5 A little spicy but goes well with rice. Beef Rendang 4/5 I don't eat spicy but this is okay to have with rice.

I indicated in my reservation that we would be celebrating a birthday. When I arrived 3 mins earlier, they didnt have a table for me even though my details were stated clearly in their system. They told us to wait 5 mins for them to set up a small table as there were just 2 of us. The small table turned out to be a makeshift portable table with a long tablecloth in an awkward corner. The food was OK but the experience dampened right from the start. Its disappointing and I dont think this place is good for celebrating special occasions.

After passing by The Blue Ginger multiple times during our visits to Tanjong Pagar, we finally decided to dine in today. We were thoroughly impressed with the quality of the dishes, particularly the Beef Rendang and Ayam Buah Keluak, both of which were rich in flavor and taste very nice, but would hope that the food be a bit warmer. The pricing was reasonable, and the portion sizes were just right for a satisfying meal near Tanjong Pagar. The staff were friendly and accommodating, especially towards my grandparents, who had mobility issues. Their attentiveness enhanced the overall dining experience. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant for a weekday dinner.

Zhup Zhup by One Prawn & Co in Macpherson is renowned for its delectable prawn noodle soup served in a claypot. The signature prawn noodles are generously portioned and boast a rich, flavorful broth with three large, succulent prawns that add sweetness to the dish. The cheesy otah side dish is also highly recommended for its crispy and savory goodness.
Tried the new Jumbo Menu at Michelin Bib-Gourmand Zhup Zhup and it was amazing! The Five Fortune Jumbo Prawn Noodles came loaded with tiger prawns, lala, pork ribs, shabu pork, and their signature prawn ball in rich broth – super flavourful and satisfying. The Jumbo Prawn Paofan was comforting with clams, egg floss, and plump prawns. We also had the Har Cheong Gai wings which were crispy and juicy. Drinks like Calamansi Sourplum and Yuzu Soda were refreshing and paired well with the food. Great portions, quality ingredients, and a must-try for seafood lovers in Singapore.

Perfect meal to have on a cool evening! Thoroughly enjoyed both the orders. The classic prawn noodles soup had a thick tasty broth and the kwayteow was soft yet chewy. Shout out to the classic prawn soup with pork ribs - it had a sweet lingering taste on top of the already delicious broth. The prawns were also fresh and the ribs were tender. The coffee shop space is also newly renovated making it comfortable and clean to dine at. Will recommend!

So I saw these zhup zhup prawn noodles blowing up on TikTok... and I had to try them! Here’s what happened. 🍲 I ordered the SUPREME PRAWN NOODLES three plump prawns, two tender pork ribs, lala (clams), and a generous portion of pork meat, plus an ice lemon tea to wash it all down. 🔸 The Noodles: I’m a bee hoon fan, so I went for that. The texture was perfect slightly chewy, and it soaked up the broth like a sponge. And the broth... oh man, it had that zhup zhup vibe. Thick, hearty, and packed with deep flavor salty, slightly sweet, and oh-so-satisfying. It wasn’t greasy either, just a touch of oil to make it rich. 🔸 The Prawns: Fresh and juicy! But honestly, I was hoping for a little more tenderness. They were solid but didn’t wow me. 🔸 The Tea: 🍋 Complete letdown. Watered-down tea with a sad lemon slice. No refreshing kick just bland. I’d rather grab a Pokka or Ant Band ice lemon tea. 💸 For nearly $30, I felt okay about it. The broth was definitely the highlight, but the prawns and the tea didn’t really justify the price. Would I recommend it? 🤔 If you’re a fan of rich broths and don’t mind splurging a little, it’s worth a try. But if you’re looking for a more balanced, satisfying meal there are better options out there. Michelin Bib-Gourmand Zhup Zhup — Local Comfort, Levelled Up Where prawn broth turns into poetry, and “zhup zhup” becomes the sound of satisfaction. 📍 Zhup Zhup (formerly One Prawn & Co) is all about tradition meeting innovation — think soul-warming broths, luxurious seafood, and the kind of local flavours that make you smile after every slurp. 🔥 What we tried (and loved): 🍜 JFive Fortune Jumbo Prawn ($30++) — packed with lala, shabu pork, tobiko prawn ball, and pork ribs in that GAOGAO prawn broth. It’s rich, savoury, and full of depth — every sip screams umami. 🦞 Jumbo Lobster Paofan ($88++) — an indulgent bowl with a whole wild-caught spiny lobster, egg floss, and clams poached in their signature broth. Fresh, meaty, and a total must-try for lobster lovers. 🍗 Har Cheong Gai (5pcs, $11) — crispy, juicy, and seasoned just right. 🥢 Tasting Platter ($9) — perfect for sharing and sampling. 🥤 Don’t miss the drinks: 🌿 Pandan Lemongrass ($5++) – refreshing, earthy, and soothing. 🌾 Barley ($4++) – simple and cooling (a bit diluted). 💭 My take: If you love rich prawn broths and hearty local flavours, Zhup Zhup will hit you right in the feels. ⭐ Rating: 4/5 – A comforting, flavour-packed meal worth gathering your makan kakis for. #ZhupZhupSG #SingaporeFoodie #BibGourmandSG #PrawnNoodlesSG #LobsterPaofan #SeafoodLoversSG #SingaporeEats #FoodieSingapore #SGFoodies #SingaporeRestaurants #ComfortFoodSG #ZhupZhup

Had such a satisfying meal at Zhupzhup! 🥰 I ordered the lobster pao fan and chicken wings, and both were absolutely delicious. The lobster was fresh, juicy, and perfectly cooked, while the pao fan broth was rich, savoury, and so comforting — it’s the kind of dish that warms you up instantly. The chicken wings were crispy on the outside, tender inside, and super flavourful. You can tell they use good ingredients and put care into every detail. 🤤 The portion was generous, and I left feeling really full and happy. It was a bit hot when I visited, but honestly, the food totally made up for it. Definitely worth coming back for! 🦞🍲🔥

Their signature, zhup Zhup supreme, was filled with prawns. Pork rib pork, slices and prawn ball. I got the thick bee hoon and Kway Teow in their soup version. The prawn 🦐 ingredients such as pork ribs and prawn balls came In in a nice sizzling, Claypot, keeping the temperature of the soup warm, which I totally appreciate. 3.5/5 One complaint was the Kway Teow, in my soup, quickly disintegrated upon a few minutes of me eating not sure is it the cooking method, or it’s the texture of the noodle. Overall, the broth is very full of flavour as you can taste the prawn taste, but I felt it was overly sweet for my personal taste. I would also recommend for the shop to chop up their pork ribs. The pork ribs are in two chunky pieces not too easy to consume . Actually, what saved the day was def fried platter. Their ngoh hiang, cracker, liver roll N sotong youtiao is worth a try. 4/5 Pricing is on the high side for a few small prawns and two prawn balls, Few Lala , few slices of pork belly and two pork ribs. The Claypot was charged at $20 which I felt was a bit steep.

went to try the highly raved Zhup Zhup and all I can say is that it did not disappoint. we ordered the Supreme Prawn Noodles, Seafood Paofan and the Ngoh Hiang Tasting Platter to share. my favorite was the paofan — the rice soaked up the soup perfectly, and they were really generous with the ingredients. bonus points for the one-time free soup refill! if you’re a big fan of prawn noodles head down to Zhup Zhup for a hearty bowl of prawn noodles!
Rachel C — Google review
The broth was incredibly rich and naturally sweet from the prawns. Every mouthful of soup was just so addicting! I ordered the thick bee hoon with prawn and ribs soup. The bee hoon was cooked to the right level of chewiness, and the ribs were fall off the bone tender. The prawns seemed fresh, with a sweet flavor and a meaty bite. Their secret chili powder, available on the table, really enhanced the flavor as well. It wasn’t very spicy, but it added an extra layer of umami, possibly from some kind of prawn powder. I really enjoyed mixing it into both the soup and the noodles. I also highly recommend their lychee oolong. It had a fragrance on its own and helped cleanse the palate, especially when every mouthful was so rich.

Excellent place with vibes. The service starts at the entrance of the hotel. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food tasted very good. Well prepared. I had high hopes for Min Jiang, a well-known Chinese restaurant in Singapore, but my $208++ set meal experience was largely underwhelming. The suckling pig was a major letdown, as it tasted like it was prepared with an older pig, lacking the tenderness I expected. The abalone with fried rice was also disappointing; the abalone was of average quality, and the fried rice was unpleasantly dry. On a positive note, the avocado dessert served with ice cream in a whole coconut was delicious and a standout. The service, while polite, seemed stretched thin, likely due to understaffing during the busy Chinese New Year period. Overall, the meal did not justify the price point.

Met up with friends for dinner here. We were a group of 8 and ordered several dishes including 2 bottles of white wine and a few appetizers. The food was really good! We especially liked the Kung Pao chicken and the spicy prawns. The pau was better steamed than fried. The string beans were cooked (wok fried) just right too. I would definitely recommend this place for the food and for a formal sit down dinner with wine at $80++ per head was a good option. The only thing they should improve is the service. We felt all of the service was either too busy, under staffed or just indifferent to making a difference. So the one downside is the service staff needs to improve!

11 of us family members were there for brunch. We had dim sum ala carte, fired noodles and desserts. Total bill about S$600 plus. To be fair, we ordered a few rounds of dim sum. Hence, the price tag. Food quality good. But varieties not as much as I thought it would be. There were some ‘misses’ and there were some tasty food. Will I come back again? Sure…when my wallet is full.

French restaurant
Bistro Du Vin offers an authentic French dining experience in Singapore, aiming to bring traditional French recipes without the usual fuss and high prices. The restaurant's ambiance, service style, music, and decor all contribute to a feeling of being in France. Established in 2009, Bistro Du Vin is committed to delivering an authentic French bistro experience with no expense spared on creating a typical French establishment atmosphere.
Amazing food. Went for the 3 course lunch set which consist of a starter, main, dessert and coffee/tea. Service was attentive and not intrusive - servers were proactive in refilling water and discreetly checked on our progress before serving the next course. French onion soup was really flavourful and the cheese generous. I also saw photos of other reviewers and the quantity of cheese seemed to differ quite a bit so I might have gotten lucky this time. The cook of the pork loin was superb. It had just a slightest hint of pink and was so juicy and flavourful. The sauce, a “potatoes in supreme sauce”, was fragrant, creamy with a hint of buttery goodness. Brussels sprouts and salsify were also very well done. Had the chocolate mousse for dessert and it was just a nice balance of thick (dark choc) and airiness. Wish it came with a side of chantilly cream. Iced latte was alright but overall, really great value and excellent food. Not overly salty or heavy like some French dishes can get. Tried the duck confit too but it was a tad too salty and some parts were dry. Go for pork - if I’m not wrong, it’s only available in the set lunch menu.

We had the 2 course set. Pan fried foie gras - good! The base was a puff which was interesting and i loved how the apple slices and the balsamic sauce tied it all together. The additional $10 each was worth it. Chargrilled Steak- good too! Medium rare, came with salad which looked very fresh, frites was delicious. Iberic grilled loin- it looked abit sad cos it looked so pale for a dish thats "grilled". And i thought ok, maybe it would be juicy then but alas the meat is pretty dry which i could not understand given its cooked like this. Also, the brussel sprouts tasted too raw for my liking. There's coffee or tea included and overall the tab is $140. Sadly im not gonna return. The ambience and decor is love, though. It truly reminded me of the bistros of France.

Bistro Du Vin delivers everything you’d hope for in a classic French bistro — rich, comforting flavours, beautifully executed dishes, and a charming old-world ambience. Busy, friendly, casual and crowded - a bistro experience with good-enough basics (strongly-flavored with sauces better than the ingredients used).

Overall food is great. The beef tartare was awesome. The frog legs were average, probably covered with too much batter and the green sauce did not enhance the favour. The onion soup could be a little more brothy vs thick. The escargot were excellent. Service was great!

A cosy place for lunch. We made reservation as this place is packed on weekend. We had 2 sets of 3 course menu. The French onion soup was thick and melted cheese to chew. Foie gras was well fried and had a good bite with the condiments. The lemon sole was pan fried to perfection at the edges and well flavoured with the rich butter. It was however quite saltish to my liking. The pork loin was surprisingly tender and had a flavourful sauce with capers. The mashed potato was very smooth, very good The cream brûlée was served in a shallow dish. The burnt sugar was too much for the brûlée, resulting in the dessert been too sweet. The chocolate mousse was thicker and very chocolaty. Love it! The staff were attentive and friendly. Would be back to try other dishes on the menu

A small little bistro serving good French food. The duck confit is really tender! The foie gras is crispy on the outside and goes so well with the pairings beneath. The salmon is really fresh and literally melts in my mouth, so JUICY. Went during weekdays lunch, there is a set meal available, really worth it. Super crowded so i recommend making a reservation. After the 3 course, I feel so full cause the portion is not small, but it's just nice for me! Will be back to try out more of their other dishes.

Chinese restaurant
Restaurant
Li Bai Cantonese Restaurant, located in Sheraton Towers Singapore, draws inspiration from the classic lyrical poems of the poet Li Bai to offer an exquisite and authentic Chinese dining experience. Executive Chinese Chef Chung Yiu Ming skillfully prepares traditional Cantonese cuisine fit for royalty within its elegant interior. The restaurant is renowned for its scrumptious Cantonese food and popular weekend dim sum brunches. Diners can expect a taste of ancient Chinese traditions with fresh ingredients and delicious cuisine reminiscent of dining like royalty.
Had an amazing dinner at Li Bai! The ambience was elegant but comfortable, and the attention to detail — from the jade and silver décor to the fine china — really set the tone for a memorable evening. The dishes were authentic and full of flavour, exactly what you’d hope for from a top Cantonese restaurant. The staff were fantastic as well — super attentive and genuinely warm. Highly recommend Li Bai if you’re in the mood for a special Cantonese meal!

Haven’t been here for quite a while so I was pleasantly surprised the food was still as good. Their version of pumpkin soup was different from the Italians: lighter, not creamy with some vegetables added. It was as yummy as the Italian version. Kurobuta pork was delicious and tender, very well seasoned with a hint of Worcestershire sauce. The dou miao (pea shoots) was soft and delicious too. King prawn was deep fried and served with a sauce with hint of tomato ketchup and oyster sauce. The meat was chunky and prawn head was full of creamy goodness. Spinach tofu didn’t disappoint and the abalone sitting on top was the softest I’ve ever tasted. The wagyu beef which I ordered medium rare came looking like well done. Well I decided not to judge and took a bite. It was so tender that I don’t really care what doneness it was. Deep fried garlic was an accompaniment similar to when you order teppanyaki. We ordered Nian gao (a Chinese New Year dessert). Unfortunately it was served cold, very thin and not worth the calories. A complain about the seating: some tables were placed quite near to one another. I can hear exactly what my neighbour was talking. One other thing, Sheraton car park was very narrow. Be really careful when you drive.

We had a delightful dim sum brunch at this restaurant on Sunday with three friends—it felt like a classic tai tai tea time! We ordered a variety of dim sum, including xiao long bao, prawn cakes, xiu mai, har gow, yam cake with scallops, cheong fun, and porridge, along with some delicious siu yok roasts. The standout dishes for us were the xiao long bao, which had perfectly thin yet sturdy skin that held up well to the flavorful broth, and the fried yam with scallops and mushroom sauce—absolutely delightful! Overall, the food was great, and we appreciated the complimentary parking in the hotel, which was a nice bonus. The service was prompt at first, but as the crowd grew and the restaurant filled up, it slowed down a bit. The ambience while dated but was nostalgic. One minor issue was that my tea cup was dirty when it arrived, and I had to ask for a replacement. Unfortunately, the request was met without acknowledgment or apology.

Went on a Saturday afternoon at 1:30pm. Once we place our order, food was serve within 10 mins. It was serve so fast that I we had to “rush” to eat our food. When there is no space to put any food on the table, I wasn’t expecting more food to be serve. Understand that the restaurant close at 3pm, however we can sense the staff can’t wait to serve all the food and close the bill. We are out of the restaurant at 2:55pm. Probably should not allow any more reservation at 1:30 if they wasn’t keen to let customer to eat their food at a normal speed. Staff also didn’t let us know if the noodles from the Peking duck was serve finish or there is left over. Within the short 1.5 hours we even manage to had our cake. Food was good but the speed makes me feels like I’m eating at a fast food not at a restaurant.

Restaurant
Sabio by the Sea, Tapas Bar & Grill is a popular dining spot in Singapore that offers an authentic Spanish culinary experience. Located at Quayside Isle, this restaurant was one of the pioneers in introducing traditional Spanish tapas to the city. Over time, its menu has expanded to include larger grilled dishes cooked using the Josper Grill, known for infusing food with a delightful smoky flavor.
Our 3rd time here — service by Aunty Jenny and her team is fantastic, they’re all extremely friendly and attentive. Food was delicious as always. Have tried many of their dishes over our past visits. The paella (it’s worth the wait!), meatballs (indeed the best beef meatballs in Singapore!), octopus tapas, garlic chicken and traditional tortilla omelette are among our favourites. Need to come back to try the grilled pork dish, another table ordered it and it looked great!! We tried the Le Entrecot pop-up’s steak dish today and it was delicious! Loved the signature sauce and the fries which were delightfully crispy. Definitely recommend Sabio to all.

June 2024 - Among all the restaurants along the marina waterfront, this has, by far, the most enthusiastic staff, compare to the other restaurants. - Walked past two days, and two different staff greeted us. - Perhaps because they were located more on the far side, away from W Hotel that the staff had to be more hardworking to encourage people to try their food. - We tried the guacamole, and the seafood paella. Food was decent. - Definitely great service! 💯 🫰🏻👏🏻

We had the seafood platter that consists of barramundi, prawns, clams and squids. The sauce was very buttery and creamy, with breadcrumbs. We dipped the garlic bread in the sauce, it was so delicious. The mushroom salad was very good too. We used Eatigo Discount, super worth it. Will return!

Had a wonderful evening at Sabio by the Sea. The restaurant has such a beautiful view overlooking the marina, which made the whole dining experience even more special. The food was excellent — lots of variety on the menu and the tapas were especially well done, full of flavor and perfect for sharing. Every dish we tried was enjoyable, and the selection made it easy to keep ordering more. A special mention goes to Mama Jenny, who was incredibly warm and friendly. Even though we arrived late, she welcomed us with such warmth. Despite being the last table left, we never felt rushed or unwelcome — instead, the team made sure we were comfortable and taken care of till the end. Another server who attended to us was also very kind and efficient, ensuring our glasses were filled and dishes served promptly. Overall, great food, lovely ambiance, and top-notch service. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy good tapas with a view at Sentosa Cove. 🌟

PUTIEN Kitchener Road, which originated as a modest coffee shop in Singapore's Kitchener Road in 2000, has expanded into a renowned chain with 71 outlets across various countries. The restaurant specializes in Heng Hwa cuisine from the Fujian Province, known for its emphasis on fresh and flavorful dishes. It has garnered numerous accolades, including Michelin Guide recognition for its Kitchener Road outlet and the Bib Gourmand Restaurant Award for its Causeway Bay location.
I just wanted to share my incredible experience at your outlet! It was all thanks to the fantastic service provided by Lian. My family & I have visited other locations before, but she really amazed me. She really stood out with her energy and enthusiasm, truly admirable for her age! ✨️ Lian was so attentive, making sure our food arrived on time & going above and beyond to ensure we were satisfied with every dish. Her thoughtful recommendations truly enhanced our dining experience. We loved every bite of our meal, but honestly, it was Lian's cheerful presence that made the whole experience so special. She even introduced us to Susan, and together they created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that left a lasting impression! Even though this outlet is quite a distance from home, we’re more than happy to make the journey because of the friendliness and dedication of your staffs as well as the delicious food! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for exceptional service and a great dining experience. By the way, I was so eager to dig into our meal that I did not snap the pictures well and even forgot to take our last dish—oops! Just know that the food is 💯 delicious! Definitely coming back again! 😋

The inner tables are intimate, and service from Lihong is excellent. Warm and friendly, takes time to chat with the customers and explain about food ingredients. Seafood restaurant
Restaurant
If you're on the hunt for fresh and high-quality seafood, look no further than Naked Finn. This culinary gem specializes in a delightful array of seafood dishes, with a standout being their Connecticut-style lobster roll. Grilled to perfection and served in a specially baked baguette, this indulgent treat features either American or European lobster and comes accompanied by crispy shoestring truffle fries and a locally sourced mesclun salad.
Amazing food, carefully thought out and expertly executed. We thoroughly enjoyed every dish we ordered: cold Kang Kong salad, prawn pancake, crab chawanmushi, focaccia with clam XO butter, fried soon hock with crispy scales, yellow croaker claypot rice. The rice was the star of the night, it is a must order, amazing flavours and textures. While I didn’t think much of the chendol dessert, my partner enjoyed it.

Late review but the food here is top notch and the restaurant deserves more love and attention. Fresh seafood, innovative and well cooked with a modern Singaporean touch. We were sad to see that there were few other diners during our visit. Not the cheapest and not the most conveniently located but the quality is well worth it. My only gripe is that portion sizes could be bigger
Karen L — Google review
The food is very enjoyable, especially the meat (lamb?) skewers and the yellow croaker claypot rice. Asian fusion but taste profiles are still familiar and relatable. There's a bespectacled young waitress who is very pleasant and observant; such good service staff is hard to come by nowadays.

We were there for Stick Shift Wednesdays - for a birthday celebration. Felt kinda sad we didn’t get to have the steak (orders were full!! so order in advance tgt with ur reservation if they allow), but let me tell you the food more than makes up for this. The skewers were so good! Bonjiri (tail) and Kawa (skin) was soooo good, the Prawn Tsukune was also fantastic! They also surprised us with the cake dessert for the birthday person. We also had Wine + Apple Smash, it was so fragrant and easy to drink. All in all, an enjoyable dinner. Recommend!

Celebrated my retirement on Friday, 13 June 2025, with a dear friend and my partner. Every dish we had absolutely blew us away — beautifully executed and full of flavour. We also ordered 3 out of the 4 desserts on the menu, and found ourselves digging into every one of them with delight. Huge shoutout to Kirsten, who served us with deep knowledge of the food and fresh enthusiasm all the time. I’ve always admired someone who can show up like their day one even though it’s their year 12. If there was one downside, it was the portion sizes; my partner was still hungry by the time we got home.
Yingers11 — Google review
Every single dish did not disappoint! The menu is carefully curated and well-thought out. We highly recommend the yellow croaker claypot rice and the fish soup with somen (noodles). Their desserts are a must too! Just order a few to share, that way you’ll get to try a variety. The location is a bit inaccessible but apart from that, will definitely come back.
G R — Google review
Really wanted to like the food here as we had heard many good things. Ingredients were high quality and the cooking techniques were spot on. However, the flavours were just not quite there. There was too much sweetness in many dishes including in kang kong and on the prawn pancake which was very jarring. Many of the dishes were calling out for a dash of acidity and brightness but were sadly bogged down by the salty-sweet taste that plagued too many of the dishes we tried. The quid pancake and prawn pancake were very similar. The best dish was the croaker rice which was delicious and savoury. It could definitely have been improved by some acidity like a calamansi or lime to squeeze over. Service was efficient and very good. The atmosphere on a week night was quiet and chilled.

This restaurant serves fusion japanese specialising in seafood. The dishes were very unique and flavourful. We got the $65 set per person. My favourite dish was the beehoon flavoured with special sauce and ebi. It was simple and delicious. The ambience is comfortable and cosy with quite a small seating area. Must reserve in advance. The only downside was that the portions were abit small. Wasnt feeling full after the meal

Hansang Korean Family Restaurant is a hidden gem in Singapore that offers authentic Korean cuisine. They serve a variety of classic dishes, as well as some innovative and specialties. The restaurant is tucked away in Novena, making it an ideal spot for barbecue lovers.
Quality is superb eventhough I took the promotion. Soup is delicious and love the barbecue pork belly. Price is very reasonable. Love the polite service and friendly staff. Oh dear, forgot to take before eating anyway, look at the empty plate and bowl and you will understand how good the food here is. Added a photo of ice cream before I ate.

Second time here after a few years, the standard and quality of the food is still so good. This time round my friend and I had lunch promo of seafood soondubu and spicy pork soondubu. We also ordered the tteoboki. Finally satisfied my Korean food craving. Thumbs for the food and service here. 👍🏼👍🏼

The service here was really good. The portion sizes of the meat was also very good, they are very generous with the amount of food that they give here. The server was also really nice and friendly and made us feel very comfortable here. I'll definitely be coming back here for Korean barbecue again!

Food was good, we had sundubu, seafood pancake and bulgogi with rice. The sundubu was the best dish among all, with the tofu having a nice soft texture and clean taste without being too “beany”. The seafood pancake was light as well, and not too thick. Service was alright, but do note that for promotional items (like their lunch deals) there’s no refill of banchan.

Awesome find near central of Singapore at Novena Square 2. Food was wonderful especially KBBQ but they do have many authentic Korean dishes. Their service from door to table and serving and follow-up were top notch and unparalleled. The atmosphere was good especially they have one side for usual Korean food and another side for KBBQ.

service by the boss lady is good! we got the lunch promotion set - sagol haejangguk (beef bone hangover soup). there's not much meat in the soup, but the soup hits the spot. the seafood pancake tho was the star of the show - thin with crisp edges and generous amount of seafood!! the tteokbokki is a little sad (felt like they left it out for a bit long after cooking). overall a 3.5-4/5 for affordable korean around the novena area!

Cozy korean family restaurant Food 🥘 : we ordered soup and ssam (can’t really remember what’s it called) Rice (marinated in sesame oil) wrapped with rice and some pork. Both tastes good, soup pork jowl was really tender and flavourful but the soup might’ve been a little bland to our liking, so we added some salt, chilli paste and kimchi which elevated the taste more Overall it’s alright! Service 🤵🏻: Service was fast and food came relatively fast. Friendly Atmosphere 🫧: Cozy corner, well ventilated so bbq is on one side as welll to avoid smelling like it. Might be a little cramped during peak hours Overall: Good place to have your korean food cravings fixed, menu is extensive and they also have BBQ!

Singaporean restaurant
Mrs Pho House on Rangoon Road is a Vietnamese restaurant that pays homage to the best cooks in Vietnamese families, affectionately known as Mrs Pho. With three branches in Singapore, including Beach Road and Vivocity, this eatery aims to provide a traditional Vietnamese dining experience. The menu features classic dishes such as Sliced Beef and Brisket Pho and Wagyu Pho. Whether you're craving seafood or street-style meals, Mrs Pho House has something for everyone.
Mrs Pho sits in a quiet corner of Rangoon Road just opposite the famous Ng Ah Soo bkt. The Vietnamese cuisine is authentic and dishes are on point. Had the standard Vietnamese fare of summer rolls, beef and chicken pho. Staples that had excellent robust taste. Spring Chicken was very tender and succulent and would recommend. Kid friendly and very accessible. Highly recommended

Not been here for a while, and observed they have changed the team of staff there. Used to be a group of Vietnamese chefs, and now quite a mix. Food variety have changed a bit, but some signature stuff still there. Food is still quite tasty but the place seems a bit rundown as compared to previous. Staff are quite friendly and helpful.

Visited on 30/11/24. Order Beef Combination Pho, Fresh Summer Rolls, Grilled Chicken Banh Mi, and Vietnamese Pork Crepe for 2 hungry people. The Pho was very good, had a generous quantity of beef, and the soup tasted good. The beef was tender and went well with the soft noodles. The chicken from the Banh Mi was well marinated and tasted very good. Bread was crispy as well. Summer Rolls were okay. Peanut sauce was good. The crepe was average but came with plenty of vegetables inside. Overall, it was a very good experience and great value of money with the Eatigo discount. Will come again for the Pho and Banh Mi.

-Beef Pho soup was tasty and comforting. -Summer rolls dip is good, prawn could be bigger to have more bite. -Bahn Xeo seafood crust is thin. With mostly beansprouts and some prawns. No rice paper to wrap with, just use the lettuce provided and dip into sauce. -Fried crab vermicelli. Taste is good (add fish sauce) but like most reviewed, crab is meagre to make a difference. - Panna Cotta. Tiny portion. Can skip. Overall a quiet Vietnamese food joint. Try the Pho if you're nearby. Dishes lacked fresh herbs and vegetables to perk up the taste up a notch.

I dunno why so many reviews say the pho soup is bland. Just had it yesterday night and the soup was flavourful. Bahn Xeo was nice and crispy, pork chop was tender , just that the fried spring rolls were a bit tiny. Tip: use the Eatigo app to book and get a good discount ranging from 30-50% from 3-6pm.

It is better to make your online reservation if you wanna be guaranteed a table when you come, as this restaurant is still popular. Food wise, so so only… on the serving staff: 1 helpful and 1 not so friendly. Price: we feel many items are quite over-priced by around 25% or May be that will be the norm everywhere in SG with global inflation kicks in?!🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♀️ We saw a table of 13 young adults the same night when we dined in and IF they are repeated customers then probably they like the food here. If they are first timers like us, then I’m not sure if they will come back here again. A glimpse into the prices & make your own judgement: A plate of ayam Bakar cost S$30/- (too pricy?) ; oxtail soup is S$17/- (good for two to share); 10 sticks of chicken satay is $17/- (reasonably priced, I guess) Ayam satay is great👍 but the satay sauce may not to the general’s liking. Turmeric Rice & coconut rice : S$2.80 per plate. Shredded Ice with some mixed fruits dessert S$5.80 per bowl.

It's authentic halal Indonesian food located Somerset 313 with Indonesian interior look. This place is one of husband's fave places to eat Indonesian food. We always come to this branch as Somerset near to our place. The staffs were attentive and fast response. Our first visit was on their first opening branch in Somerset which was 3 years ago and so happy to see that they used reusable enamel mug and plate but now they replaced it with disposable which was big no no very dissapointing. We always come for their soto Betawi (very good with generous portion), nasi kuning, soto mee, dadar jagung, sate telur puyuh, etc.

First to came here with my friend as it’s nearby her office. We’ve ordered Nasi Campur Bali Sop Bontot (Oxtail Soup) Let me give you more info about the rest before we go on food taste and quality. Location - it’s located at B3-10 313 Somerset very central area. Small space but it’s alright, I thought that can be somehow cute/unique about this restaurant. Ambience - very Indonesian vibes, with wall paintings and staff also speak Indonesia that makes it more Indonesian vibe. It’s like sort of hawker style where you can see all the dishes and ready to serve. Menu Options - I would say good enough variety to choose. Quality and Quantity - it’s self service, quality it’s great taste. I just wished that they can at least pre-heat it so it’s warm or a bit hot when to eat 😐. as for the portion good for one person per dish Overall, I would say to try if you haven’t since I think it’s new and it’s around Somerset area. But to visit again, not sure of that though

First time here on a Sunday morning and I can see their business picking up. Ordered the Soto Ayam, coating $8.80. The chicken shreds in the soup were too little for the kind of price. The other lunch set on Bakso Penyet was better, even though it was cheaper. Taste wise is good. Authentic. Nice ambience and staff are friendly. Only thing is the portions which kinda leave you half filled for the kind of price you are paying.

Love this vegetarian eatery. Amazing variety of dishes. Dumpling noodles is perfectly cooked. Tom yum soup was spicy but We love spicy food so no complaints. Server recommended sweet pumpkin pancakes. We were sceptical but it turned out nice. They also have fresh Kombucha and lemonade. Perfect to pair with this food.

Had dinner here last night with my wife and a dear friend from Sydney. The service staff (a young lady) was very good - really attentive and proactive, and she also took extra effort to mention the little details. We were delighted with the food too, and I especially liked the aubergine. The pizza was probably the weakest link for the night but it was still better than average by my standards. Overall we had a great time and will probably return for more, albeit a branch closer to home if we can find one.
Wei T — Google review
Great vegetarian menu with lots of selection! The Egg and Potato salad was very refreshing, the mushroom carbonara and curry noodles were both flavourful and filling. The dumplings were a bit disappointing, felt a bit bland.

New branch at South beach is nice and cosy. We like the fried carrot cake, very tasty, just that it was not hot enough (temperature wise) when served. Food is on the whole average but you will love the delightful service of the staff, they are all so kind and helpful!

The organic belachan was recommended to me on request. It looked pretty plain, although it did have a subtle but nice flavour. I have a feeling it's supposed to be eaten with something else, but upon asking a different staff member, they were unsure Nice atmosphere, quality food and fast service though.

Enjoyed the food and ambience at Real Food. Being quite a carnivore myself, I find it rather refreshing to skip some meat this time. The food is full of flavor, from pizza to burgers and even the local rojak! It’s always satisfying when my tongue touches meat... Quite amazing to have flavorsome taste in my mouth this time where there is no meat! Haha

First time here . Love the ambience and deco. The food was okay only, the plating needs to be improve. The noodles was quite disappointing. The sofa looks dirty, lots of stain. Overall hearty meal. Will come back to try other food

Somewhat of a hidden gem given its not visible from the main area/roadside. Lovely ambience with great tasting fusion dishes. Price point is slightly on the higher side however service staff is especially friendly and nice. The only “downside” was that water was charged per bottle. P.S - use Chope vouchers to enjoy 15% (iirc)

Seng Kee Black Chicken Herbal Soup Pte Ltd is a bustling Chinese restaurant known for its traditional soups and noodle dishes. Despite its name, the eatery is famous for its herbal mee sua topped with pork slices and offal. The menu also features pan-fried beehoon, chilli crab, and clams with fermented bean sauce available for delivery.
My 1st visit to Seng Kee & was pleasantly surprised … The fish maw soup was the star – hearty and lotsa ingredients like crab meat and scallop. The “chao ta” bee hoon had that smoky, crispy edge I love, while the mustard veg fish brought a tangy kick. The pork ribs were alright … a little too soft for my liking maybe from over-tenderizing but overall it was a rustic, satisfying meal. Lots of seating too, with tables spilling out along the corridor for that old-school charm …. Will be back to try the other dishes.😋

When to have dinner here on Friday night around 7pm and there’s no queue.. so we ordered first and pay before getting seated. Came here from looking at tiktok.. i must say the star is really the herbal chicken soup.. it was really good and the soup is flavourful authentic.. i had the ginseng chicken. The steam fish and spicy sauce in my opinion second best but the fish that i had chosen was an old big fish i think not so great the texture.. despite that i still like the soup gravy. The crab bee hoon not too bad can be more crispy. The squid portion is alot for 2 person we didnt finish it.. overall is good, the place is pack with patron and constant queue. I would be back just to drink the herban chicken 😂👍.

If you’re looking for authentic herbal soup in Singapore, Seng Kee Black Chicken Herbal Soup is a must-try! The black chicken soup is rich, flavorful, and really comforting — perfect if you want something nourishing and tasty. The herbs they use give it a great depth of flavor without being overpowering. The place is simple and no-frills, but that just adds to the charm. It feels very traditional and homey, like a hidden gem. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Perfect spot to warm up and recharge, especially if you enjoy traditional Asian herbal cuisine. I’d definitely come back! Friend brought me here, great!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The black vinegar trotter was super tasty — tender meat with just the right balance of sour and sweet! The soups were rich and comforting, perfect on a rainy day. Everything tasted really homemade and full of flavour. Definitely worth coming back for!

Bring a neck fan or portable fan. It’s horrendously warm. Food standard has dropped. The dark soup pig organ’s mee sua still taste nice and rich but the white gravy mee sua tasted so bland, it’s like water. Not the same taste as we recall. Been having food from them once in a while over the past few years. Ordered some takeaway too and needed to wait for quite a while before they are ready. Hopefully the takeaway hor fun and fish maw soup maintains the standard. Ordered a teh peng, which we were told will be made from 3-1 mix (???). Alright… not sure which is the brand being used but it’s like sugar syrup. Overall, it’s a disappointing experience from the Seng Kee we used to love.

One of my favorite local zhi char restaurant to go to whenever we have a large group. Food is good and not pricey. Ingredients are fresh and don’t have any unpleasant surprises. Parking is difficult and will have to go early to avoid the queue.

See Kee Black Chicken Herbal Soup shop is located within waking distance from Kembagan MRT or if you drive there is parking along the nearby street. Ate here multiple time with different groups and I highly recommend the beehoon, prawn balls and pork cutlet fried rice. Price point is decent and portions are generous for any group size! Highly recommend for anyone looking for good food in the east, especially near an MRT station. To my understanding they only accept cash/paynow and no paywave so something to take note.
Jayven W — Google review
Black chicken was underwhelming for it's price. Tastes as decent as hawker ones, just overpriced. Only special thing is the kidney mee sua, noodles are served thin & very chewable. An uncommon dish in SG, reasonable price.

Christmas day is busy. Staff tried their best service wise eg top up water, tea etc. Seafood lor mee, sweet and sour pork, beancurd and fried bun with shredded pork slices. Overall Food was decent but the sweet n sour pork could have been served hotter.
Ling H — Google review
The fried oyster pancake was great, love their rendition as compared to the wetter and gloopier ones outside. As usual their braised noodles was delicious, even better with their house chili mixed in. Yellow croaker was fried perfectly - flaky fish with crispy skin, yum! The candied yam on the other hand was not impressive.
Lola L — Google review
We were passing by the restaurant and got attracted by the display of clams. Found out they were from Doutou, a Fujan coastal town famous for harvesting the clams. We tried two of the several offerings and they were totally worth the visit. I must say that since our last visit, a couple of years back, the restaurant has made strides in improving the food offering and the service quality, while the prices are still very reasonable.

Went there for the first time with friends. Dishes were really great and enjoyed it a lot. The fried eggplant among the dishes we ordered was definitely enjoyable. I personally don’t like sweet and sour dish, however I loved their sweet and sour pork as the sweetness and sourness were very balanced. The fried yellow croaker was so good together with their signature chilli sauce. Staffs were very friendly. Will definitely come again to try more 😊

Great food at Putien. Our first time trying. The hotplate tofu and yam is delicious! Oyster noodles taste exactly like the dried oysters used in them. The garlic chicken is dry and tough, not much of garlic fragrant, the garlic only came from the crispy toppings on top of it. The refilling of the tea is pretty slow even when the restaurant is not busy. Definitely will visit again to try other dishes.

Eel is quite fresh and good! Great time spent there with good food. The service standard dropped abit might owing to the covid-19. We’ll visit there again for more dishes😊 the dessert is worth trying and the tea are also a must try.

Restaurant
Sin Heng Claypot Bak Koot Teh is known for its unique herbal and peppery soup base, setting it apart from others that may only have a strong pepper taste. The restaurant offers a variety of organ parts for those who enjoy them. While some visitors recall the unbeatable rich herbaceous broth from years ago, others feel that the broth has become somewhat diluted over time. However, many still appreciate the tender meat and enjoy dishes like fresh prawn with vermicelli in BKT soup.
Very local place. Nothing fancy. Like an old coffeeshop with no frills but food is good and price rather reasonable. Explains why there is a constant flow of customers. No queue on a Tues night. Bak Koot Teh was flavorful. A little herbal with mushrooms, corn and Lettuce added. Bean sprouts with salted fish was also good. Our friend from USA enjoyed the meal. Will come back to try other dishes next time. The staff are helpful and efficient.
Elaine Q — Google review
Had dinner for family of 5, ordered special BKT and it’s really delicious. For those who preferred the non-pepper type, this is a must try. Their yam rice and mee sua are recommended to go with the BKT as well. We also ordered fried caipo egg, kailan and wings. Those were all good as well. Went ard 6pm, parking is available. Servicing staff are all friendly and fast speed!
Shuting L — Google review
Pretty good herbal bak kut teh that is also very wallet friendly. 10 bucks will net you 4?! ribs. The soup is decent, herbalicious, constant tingling at the back of your throat. Not sure if its MSG or just the herbs. The broth initally has the taste of coriander, similar to turtle soup. The ribs, tender flavourful. The giam chye, tangy, soft, very good. The youtiao however, have the oil taste and was not meaty enough to soak up the broth. The refill lacks the coriander taste, but otherwise did not taste watered down. I think is pretty decent spot and would come back to try the pepper version.

We ordered one small claypot bkt.. We don't like it.. We ordered hot kopi... what we were served with was lukewarm kopi.. errrrr The BKT quite tasteless.. Ya the pork ribs are big..

Popular Bak Kut Teh shop along Joo Chiat Rd with a rich history. Recently awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand award. Highly recommend their herbal Bak Kut Teh, which goes well with the fried dough fritters (油条) or a bowl of rice.

Walked along Joo Chiat road and we wanted to explore some nice local food. Bak Koot Teh definitely is one of the must eat options in Singapore, thus we give Sin Heng a try as it has high score in google map. The traditional garlic Bak koot teh is really good! I like it better than Xong Fat (the most famous one in town), but we went on a workday, therefore, no queues at all. We also order a Brussel sprouts, very fresh and delicious 😋 Highly recommended both dishes!!
Celia C — Google review
Herbal claypot bakuteh in an old school coffee shop. The soup is not overly herbal and has some pepper hints. Medium size you get 6 ribs. Service is prompt. Coffee and tea here not bad too. Definitely recommend some iced drinks as you'll get warm after drinking the BKT soup. We also ordered Thai fried chicken on the side.
M A — Google review
Spotted a queue here while we passed by the place searching for dinner. Decided to join the queue to try. 2 types of bak kut teh (bkt) were sold here, we settled for the 'special' pot which was actually herbal bkt after checking with the staff. Ordered the claypot prawn vermicelli as well, as we were craving for prawns. Love how the vermicelli had soaked up all the prawn goodness. Klang style bkt was my preferred as compared to the teochew style. Besides pork ribs, we added offal to our bkt claypot. Pork liver was dry, ribs were tender though. The soup was savoury, herbal notes were presented however was mellow. Nevertheless It was enjoyable. Soup could be refill.

Korean restaurant
SBCD Korean Tofu House is a popular dining spot in Singapore, especially among Korean expatriates. The restaurant offers an authentic Korean dining experience and serves dishes not commonly found in other Korean eateries, such as skate sashimi with steamed pork and kimchi, and acorn jelly.
Amazing food and complimentary side dishes as usual. The only downside to this location is that the restaurant is located near the end of the mall connected to the MRT walkway so there is no AC or at least you cannot feel any AC, and the restaurant itself doesn’t have AC/only ceiling fan so it gets really really warm, and when you’re drinking a hot bowl of Soondoobo plus it’s warm… it does not feel good
Rebecca — Google review
I wasn’t very impressed with the food here. The LA rib was quite oily and fatty, and it was also overcooked and burnt. As for the side dishes, you’re required to finish all of them before getting a new set, which means there’s no option to choose the ones you prefer. I only liked the cucumber; the rest were too salty for my taste. The squid was the most surprising — I received just two tiny pieces, and the second time around, I was only given the sauce! 😅 The portion is quite small considering the price. The tables are placed too close to each other, making it hard to have a comfortable dining experience. I couldn’t help but overhear conversations from the table next to mine Won’t come again.
Sarah L — Google review
The food was okay, but not the best Korean I've ever had. I think it's a bit pricey too. I had lunch for two and ordered a combo meal (Original Pork Soontofu + Bulgogi) and a Seafood Pancake. I wasn't a fan of the Soontofu (it was a bit bland), but the Bulgogi was delicious. I was a bit taken aback when I saw the combo meal portion was smaller than the ala carte—I thought I had scored a good deal! There weren't many freeflow side dishes, and not everything was my cup of tea. It was a weekend so the place was pretty full, but it wasn't too noisy.
Darwin K — Google review
We had a team lunch at this outlet today. Food: We ordered kimbap, unagi, and BBQ pork—all tasty. The tofu soup was especially nice, with silky smooth tofu. Note: For the hot pot rice, two people share one serving, while three people get two servings. Ambience: The air-conditioning was not cold, making the atmosphere quite warm. Reservations are recommended before visiting.
Jane L — Google review
Ordered the seafood sundubu n orange chicken combo. Loved that fresh chicken was used for the orange chicken which was very moreish. The seafood sundubu was unfortunately v salty to the point of.not being edible for me n the crab n prawn were stale. Cuttlefish was also frozen type. Side dishes were v blah. Service was efficient but brusque. They should also fix the aircon situation at this outlet - was not cold enough, making it a v uncomfortable dining experience.

The food tastes delicious, and the staff provides excellent service. Most of the customers are tour groups from South Korea. If you come without a reservation, be prepared for a long wait. The menu is more suitable for older children.
Pitcha G — Google review
Very disappointed with the sesame soontofu. It was so bland, with no seasoning at all. I was shocked, especially since it’s meant to be a vegetarian-friendly option. Service was alright, and the other dishes were okay, but the sesame soontofu really let me down.
Jay T — Google review
We ordered the Seafood Soontofu, Original Pork Soontofu, and the Orange Chicken Combo, which came with sizzling stone pot rice and a great selection of side dishes. The tofu stew was bubbling hot, with silky soft tofu and flavorful broth—just the kind of comfort food you crave on a rainy or busy day. You can choose your spice level too! The seafood version had fresh prawns and clams, while the pork was hearty and classic. One of the highlights was the banchan (Korean side dishes)—not your typical selection! In addition to kimchi, cucumber, spicy squid strips, and crispy seaweed, they served a whole deep-fried croaker fish, which was light, crispy, and surprisingly delicious.

the food taste really good, the broth smelly very nice and appetising!! Been here to eat several times and with my friends. I had my first mala tang at this restaurant chain, and it was quite disappointing. The selection was limited, and the beef had an overpowering taste. Payment had to be made individually, and we had to pick up the food ourselves. The condiments weren’t replenished, so we had to ask the staff for assistance. Overall, it felt more like a fast food experience but with restaurant-level prices.

So disgusting! I was halfway through my meal when I spotted something that looked like an insect leg or part of a cockroach. I brought it to the staff counter, but they just rinsed it off and ignored the issue. The staff’s attitude was terrible. I’m definitely never coming back!

We really like the mala here because it’s not oily like the usual ones but still super flavourful. The medium spice level is just right—you can even eat it without needing water. That said, the staff? Rude af. I get that there’s no service charge, but seriously? Condiments are usually cleared by 8:30pm, and we’ve eaten here about three times now. Last order is supposed to be at 9:30pm with closing at 10pm, but the staff always starts packing up the ingredients by 9:15pm. One time, we were still eating around 9:20pm+, and a guy walked in but got turned away. And twice now—TWO times—an elderly man (maybe in his 40s-50s) came over between 9:20pm+ and 9:30pm+ and told us to “快点吃” (hurry up and eat). WORD OF ADVICE: just change the last order to 8:30pm and put up a HUGE ASS NOTICE telling customers to gtfo by 9:30pm. I get that people want to go home early, but chasing customers out 30 minutes before closing? That’s NOT good customer service ya. Honestly, even if they change the last order timing, I bet the staff would still start rushing people out by 9pm. The staff here… I’m honestly speechless lol.

OK Chicken Rice & Humfull Laksa in Ang Mo Kio gained attention for its successful social campaign during the pandemic, delivering sponsored meals to healthcare workers. The stall is known for its crispy and succulent chicken, offering traditional and affordable hawker-style meals such as steamed chicken rice, roast chicken porridge, curry noodles, bento boxes, and diverse finger food options like fish otak.
I went out with my friend for lunch and we came across this halal store which sold both laksa and chicken rice so we decided to try it out, and I’m glad we did! The broth in the signature laksa was flavourful, and the stall sold a wide variety of dishes as well!

Saw the high ratings and decided to try their Chicken Rice . Nothing spectacular. Initially wanted to give a 3/5 rating. But it costs $5.3/pkt. I think any Chicken Rice stall can beat or match them at $3 or $3.5/plate. Not worth trying. Sorry

An average tasting bowl of laksa. I gave 5 stars for their service because kudos for giving out free chicken rice to seniors above 60 👍👍👍. Although they have terms and conditions for the free chicken rice, it is still a great effort.

I loved the prawn Laksa which has flavorful and authentic soup base. Also,The chicken thigh rice was tender and juicy and the portion is much larger portion than I expected. It also came with cucumber as a side dish, and paired with the oily rice, it was a perfect match that I enjoyed mouthful after mouthful. Recommend for it, will visit again 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Savour two of Singapore’s favourite hawker dishes, chicken rice and laksa, at OK Chicken Rice & Humfull Laksa. The 𝗝𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗼 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘂𝗺 ($12) featured one whole chicken leg. The succulent meat was drizzled with a sweet-savoury sauce, and it tasted absolutely divine. The 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝘀𝗮 ($6.50) delighted with its rich, spicy gravy and large, crunchy prawns. However the 𝗙𝗮𝘁𝗯𝘂𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝘂𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗡𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘀 ($3.50) were a letdown as the chicken wasn’t crispy and the noodles too dry.

Had Signature San Lao Hor Fun ($7.50) + Sum Kee Fish Meat Noodle Soup ($8.50) for dinner, was good! My second visit in many days. Service was prompt & friendly. I'll be back to try other items on their menu. Notice lots of takeaway orders. No air-con dining but was relatively breezy

Don't know why it's so popular. Just like any other zhi char stall in a coffee shop. The prawn in cereal was good as it was deahelled and medium size. Don't have the curry fish head, think fish not fresh.
Winnie — Google review
My food rating guide: 2.5/5 ‐-------> Average taste 5/5 ‐--------> Scrumptious! (My comfort food! 🤩) Fried rice with salted fish was nice. Was a tad mosit. Got wok hei, savoury, generous amount of fried salted fish bits, and the beansprouts gave a refreshing taste that balanced off the saltiness. Spinach with beancurd skin was mediocre. Sauce akin to CNY pen cai sauce. Crunchy fresh spinach. The beancurd skins mostly couldn't soak up the sauce and were on the tough side. Chun Kee pork rib sauce was nice, but the pork was on the tough side. Chun Kee prawn paste chicken was excellent. Crispy, juicy, and had fragrant prawn paste taste. The cold homemade barley drink in the coffeeshop had the taste of home. Dense, filled with barley fragrance, not too sweet, and has a tint of pandan fragrance. Not a good place to dine in. The very loud noise caused from the plates and bowls collision when the staff were throwing these plastic tableware into a bin while clearing tables was very disturbing. Takeaway is recommended. Recommended items 👍: Chun Kee prawn paste chicken (4.5/5) Fried rice with salted fish (4/5) Cold homemade barley drink (4.8/5) The meal averaged a 3.9/5

Normally would order the 鱼肉粗米粉 with milk but for today, purposely ordered without milk to try it out. Regretted as it tasted no different from any other hawker ctr/coffeeshop stall selling such a dish, & the 菜心 tasted dry n hard today. The fried rice also tasted normal. Nevertheless, the service was friendly n the prices are similar to hawker ctr/coffeeshops.

Super brisk business on a Sunday evening. Can feel a bit chaotic if one is packing takeaway and waiting for food to be ready. Eating here again after nearly 10 years back. The items are expected of a HK street standard. Went back to pack dinner after a week and shared it with other family members this time. All good.

I walked past this stall multiple times but brushed them off as just another tze char stall. However, I found out recently that they are THE ORIGINAL 香港街珍记, and that made me want to try the food, as growing up, there were multiple places naming themselves as such, and one was near my place. These were shops opened by their ex chefs after they became famous. We ordered fried prawn rolls, prawn paste chicken, spinach with bean curd skin and san lou hor fun (total $53). We didn't have to wait long for the food. Only the prawn paste chicken was decent. The prawn rolls were nothing extraordinary. The biggest disappointment was the san lou hor fun as there was no wok hei at at. Actually, while writing this review, I'm struggling to remember if it was even hot when served. I had hoped to experience some old school delights, but I left with only disappointment.

Song Fa Bak Kut Teh at Velocity @ Novena Square is a renowned restaurant chain in Singapore, with humble beginnings dating back to 1969. Originally selling pork ribs and peppery soup from a pushcart, the establishment has expanded to offer a variety of dishes such as braised chicken feet and sliced fish soup. However, the star of the menu remains the flavorful pork dishes. The restaurant is known for its consistent quality Bak Kut Teh and offers a small selection of tasty sides.
This BKT (Bak Kut Teh) chain is always crowded, and now I know why. It had been a while since I'd eaten here, Beyond the signature peppery BKT soup, the other dishes are equally excellent. The spicy claypot pork belly was a standout for me. I also found their King's Garden Ale to be a perfect match for the food. It's a reasonably priced and comfortable place to enjoy this local favourite dish.

We ordered dishes we’ve not tried like chicken leg, braised peanuts, tang ho & sliced pork bkt. All taste delicious. However, today’s soup taste kinda bitter. Perhaps, the seasoning pouch got a tear? We love the succulent pork ribs and tender sliced pork bkt! Ate plenty of crispy & chewy dough fritters, salted vegetable & braised pig trotters that goes so well with the fragrance rice! Service is great.

Food quality is always consistent and the service is fantastic. The servers are polite and attentive, special thanks to Cao Yang, who was proactive in checking if we needed a soup refill. We’ve had several great dining experiences here and will definitely be back. Sometimes, it’s not just the food that warms the stomach, but the service that warms the heart. Appreciate the team’s effort in delivering such genuine hospitality!

First time that I had Song Fa was in 2009 at the main branch and I loved it. The last time I ate Song Fa was 10 years ago. The service at this branch is very good. Promptly brought to a table at the entrance. Ordering through scanning the QR code at the table. Bak kut teh soup was fragrant and peppery. The service staff top up the soup promptly. The salted vegetable side dish was nice. The pork ribs was a little tough and chewy. The ngoh hiang was so so only. Chilli slices were too thick and not spicy. Also I would have preferred the set to come with hot Chinese tea instead.

It was a busy lunchtime on a weekday. Service was swift and fast. Everything went like a smoothly oiled restaurant like clockwork. Lady in grey vest (Deana) went around making sure everyone had a good meal and offered soup top ups. I asked for some help from another staff and she double checked to make sure my request was attended to. Turnover was also really quick. Enjoyed my meal totally as compared to suntec’s service. Will come back for sure if I’m in the area. Quality also assured you’d expect from Song Fa.

The BKT is fresh and the soup is peppery enough. Also tried the braised side dishes and ngoh hiang which are good, although the latter’s portion seemed a tad small. There is a someone waiting to greet and bring you to the table, and ordering is self service. It’s a clean and bright environment

Came here to eat on a Monday lunch and the place was crowded. With that said, the service was exceptional and the staff was super attentive. They kept going around to refill drinks and to ask if we needed more items. Food standard was great and soup was served piping hot! Highly recommended!

Nestled in the vibrant Golden Mile Complex, Nana Thai Restaurant is a delightful haven for lovers of authentic Thai cuisine. This charming eatery serves up an array of traditional dishes that are both flavorful and affordable. You can start your culinary journey with their refreshing Thai mango salad, which beautifully combines sweet fruit with salty shrimp and crunchy peanuts.
The pricing with service charge and gst will probably be(lets just add $8). Well that's not the main point. Service was quick/fast. Food was served hot. Quantity was quality based on my experience yesterday. It was delicious enough that I would go again and try other dishes. Kipidap.

I had dinner with the family here recently. Service is good and fast. Restaurant is clean. Prices are mostly reasonable. I liked the tomyam and mango salad. Both are very flavorful. I do not recommend the salted egg squid as it only had very small pieces of squid deep fried in very thick batter for about SGD19. So, you get mainly batter and verry little squid for the price. Definitely better to go with other items worth your money on the menu.

I’m extremely disappointed and upset about the experience I had at your restaurant. When I arrived, a female staff member brought the menu to our table. But instead of showing basic manners, she threw the menu on the table with a condescending attitude, clearly looking down on me and my friend. Is this what you call customer service? I came here, paid with my hard-earned money, and expected to be treated with respect — not humiliated like that. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and unprofessional. No customer deserves to be treated this way, no matter who they are. If this is how your staff treat guests, I honestly don’t see how your business can earn anyone’s respect. I hope this issue is taken seriously, because people deserve better.

The Soup Spoon Union is a delightful dining experience that embraces a do-it-yourself concept, allowing guests to navigate their meals independently. While it may be one of the more understaffed locations in Singapore, the variety of food options remains impressive and consistent with the brand's quality. The HandBurger menu adds an exciting twist for those looking to try something different. Despite some hiccups with online orders, the staff demonstrated remarkable kindness and flexibility, ensuring that customers felt valued and taken care of.
Love the variety of soups available at Soup Spoon, from the simple nourishing Tokyo Chicken stew (pictured) to the creamier choices as well as the seasonal spicy ones. Shoutout to the crew at Toa Payoh who never fail to accede to my little requests accompanying my soup purchases.
Kuevolution — Google review
The salmon soup was a meh experience, though they did serve it with a small chunk of salmon at the bottom. Adding a bread to the meal was $0.80, so that's worthwhile, but the soup itself wasn't good. The seating space here is quite small, and it can get weird with the queue right behind your head if you are seated behind the self service ordering kiosk. But they prepared the order quite fast, and just had to collect at the counter. Mostly a quick eat and go place, especially here.
Drew — Google review
The Soup 🥣 Spoon 🥄 has come a long way since business started years 📆 ago. What was seen as a quick eat and go joint is today a full-on restaurant that serves different categories of food dishes. 👍 Restaurant – Located in the heart ❤️ of Toa Payoh HDB Hub along 🏬 with other food establishments, the only issue is the limited indoor seating. They have a great large outdoor seating 🪑(which I sat in) but given the blazing heat 🥵, they should install air coolers 💨 or the outdoor fans. Really hot! ♨️ (See my pics 📸and video 📹) Overall, the place is clean 🫧🧼 and well maintained. Service – It’s a self-service-order system 📲 at entrance, when they page 🗣️ your number, you proceed to collect your food 🍳🍜🥘🥙at the counter. There is absolute minimum interaction with the staff 💁🏼‍♀️so I can’t comment 💬 on this. Which is fine because since there are no service charge and that’s great too! 😎 ONE MAJOR ISSUE. ❌❌❌ Carrying a full tray of food, I could not tap the button to open the door that leads to the outside. The button ⏹️ is located right next to the wall and the door, impossible to press when holding onto a tray. 🥹 They should have an Auto door 🚪; me and others nearly dropped the tray 📥. Kindly look into it Food – Cost is reasonably priced, I felt if it was a bit higher, it would have been out of reach for students 🧑‍🎓and heart landers 👵🏽👴🏼🧓🏾. The quality is good and consistent, it is almost a fast food but there are some elements of preparation and cooking to it. I will say good to great but not great to awesome except for the Soup. Their Soup is in the awesome league. 🏆 Really nice, rich, tasty and so yummy! 😋 Overall a good experience, just have to work on opening the door and having for fans outdoors and I think the rest will work out just fine. ✅✅✅

Been coming here often for a quiet lunch and I do order delivery at times which is delivered fast and always packed well. The place has indoor and outdoor seating, and you order via the self service kiosks in front of the restaurant. The restaurant design is a diner style concept with an orange light that sometimes I feel is too heavy/reddish for the atmosphere to come off as chill. The cushion seats do get a little itchy if you are wearing shorts and sitting on them, not sure if it’s cause of the material or if they need to be cleaned a little better (no visible dirt though they look clean) Food wise everything is great, there is a huge variety to choose from, from soups to salads to burgers and western mains so take your time browsing the menu! I personally enjoy the Tokyo chicken stew or chicken mushroom ragout on cold rainy days, and their mushroom or tomato soup for a vegetarian fix! I like that their Caesar salad comes with sun dried tomatoes, croutons and a little sprinkling of cheese and that the leaves are well dressed (and not just the sauce drizzled on them). I added smoked salmon to mine! You can request for no bread if your meal is too much, and you can save 30cents dining in. Drinks wise I enjoy the hibiscus tea for a refreshing caffeine free time. Place is usually crowded at your usual peak hours, however you’ll still be able to find a seat. It is a little more empty and quieter at off peak hour times like 2-3/ 4-5pm for late lunch or early dinner. Staff are usually very busy preparing orders and very quick in serving quality food which I appreciate as it is a lean team without a lot of staff, they could do with one or two more. Staff there also are quite attentive to keeping the sauce and pepper station clean for customers to use, however struggle to clean up empty trays left on the trolley when it is peak period which is understandable due to the small manpower. I just wish the lighting wasn’t so orange but overall I enjoy my meals here ! Thank you !

The soup is so different from what is advertised. Total scum. Left pic is the actual food vs right the advertisement. Ordered the nikujaga beef stew. Taste like frozen pack and highly not palatable.

The Salmon is nicely cooked, will be good if have option to exclude seasoning from broccoli, fries is crispy without salt by default. The mushroom soup is still small portion although I upsized it. Bread is getting smaller but still decent. The cutlery are quite dirty. Can't really comment on service because everything is self service, at least servers are not rude.
CF C — Google review
Tried the TGK $8.90 Special at The Soup Spoon Toa Payoh and was pleasantly surprised by the value and quality. The grilled chicken breast was nicely done very tender and not dry, paired well with the rich wild mushroom sauce. Fries were crisp and well-seasoned, making it a satisfying side. The home-brewed iced lemon tea was refreshing, not overly sweet, and a great complement to the meal. For under $9, it’s a solid and well-rounded set. Only downside was the seating can be a little cramped during busy periods, but for a filling and tasty lunch, it definitely hits the mark. Would come back again for this combo!

Arcade Fish Soup, a renowned establishment in the Central Business District since 1988, offers a delightful fish soup experience. The flavorful fish soup, available with or without milk, is served with a unique fried garlic garnish that adds an enticing savory and salty flavor. Patrons can choose between sliced or fried fish, or even both options in their bowl of goodness. The generous portions and tender chunks of fresh deboned mackerel fish make for a satisfying meal.
Really friendly staff!! Love the fish soup, can’t comment about seating as I’ve always done takeaway. While it’s a bit pricy for hawker fare it is in the CBD, in an air conditioned environment

A few Arcade Fish soup in Raffles Place area; this store at Basement 1 of The Sail at Marina Bay. 🙊 Standard dropped, last year still ok and acceptable number of slice fish now less than 5 pcs 😳 for regular (small) bowl. ~Chili sauce also not nice anymore! For the price and taste, not worth the try!

Nice fish soup, with lettuce, slice of tomato and sichuan veg. It’s expensive tho, only 4 slices of fish for regular slice fish soup. Plain rice is ok, at $1. Likely is because of expensive rental. Friendly staff. Went after 2pm on weekday, after lunch hour, so it wasn’t crowded and easy to get seats.

Fish Soup (SGD $8) @ Arcade Fish Soup. . Flavour packed fish soup since 1988, oft frequented by office workers in the Central Business District (CBD). . Large generous portions, with or without milk, served with a unique fried garlic garnish on the side that lends enticing savoury salty spice flavour. . The duo of fresh deboned mackerel fish, natural and fried, are chunky and tender, with lovely sweet savoury flavour. . The soup, filled with crunchy cabbage and juicy tomato, carries mild sweet salty savoury vegetal flavour. Warm and comforting, great paired with white rice, and a spicy chili dipping sauce.

This mall targets the corporate crowd so expect food to be more expensive. The common seating area seriously needs more chairs and tables. They have a good variety of east-meets-west food choices. There are packed salads at the Cold Storage and these are the cheaper food options in the place.

Tucked away in Burlington Square, Hot Spot Cafe Restaurant has become a beloved lunchtime destination for locals and visitors alike. This casual eatery is known for its delectable noodle dishes, offering an impressive selection of nine different types to cater to every palate. The highlight here is undoubtedly the signature tom yum soup, which boasts a perfect balance of sourness and spice that keeps patrons coming back for more.
My most favourite Tom yum noodles ever!!!! This is my ultimate guilty pleasure. I have been eating this for years (!!) since it was Chinese ladies manning the store last time with crazy super ordering speed until they left coz of covid I think and new owners took over. It’s definitely more expensive now but honestly I’m just glad that the store is still around
Mabel Y — Google review
The restaurant is consistently busy during lunchtime, resulting in long queues. The self-service ordering process is convenient. I've tried both the fish soup and Tom Yum soup. While the flavours were okay, the tom yum soup was extremely spicy, making it difficult for those with a low spice tolerance. It's worth considering if you enjoy spicy food.
L L — Google review
The fried fish Tom Yum soup boasts a bold, tangy flavor that truly stands out. The Maggi noodle is also a standout—firm, thin, and pleasantly non-soggy. The you mian is notably hearty and satisfying. However, the fried fish falls short in crispiness, and the fried egg (additional charge $1.50) comes off as bland and unimpressive. The ice milk tea is underwhelming as well, extremely diluted. Though the prices are relatively high, the generous portion sizes make the meal feel worthwhile.
Hiang A — Google review
Always my go-to spot for fish soup over 15 years and still the best! I’ve been enjoying their fish soup for more than 15 years now, and it continues to be my top choice. Prices may have gone from $4 to $7 over time, but the quality and flavor have remained consistently excellent. My personal favorite is the fried fish soup with big beehoon and an extra fried egg absolutely satisfying every time. My wife always goes for the fried fish tom yum soup, which is equally delicious with a flavorful kick. Tip: Try to avoid the lunch crowd as queues can get long, and note that they’re closed on Saturdays. A true hidden gem that stands the test of time!

Saw the high ratings for this stall and decided to give it a try. I had the tomyum seafood soup ($7.50) — someone mentioned it tastes like Penang tomyum noodles, but honestly, it was nothing like that. The soup and noodles reminded me of Thai mama instant noodles, and the seafood wasn’t fresh — the squid, in particular, was very fishy. My husband ordered the tomyum minced pork soup, and the portion of minced pork was so little, it really wasn’t worth the price. Disappointed, and we won’t be coming back.

Saw the positive reviews so step in. Had their sliced fish tomyam meesua.. It nothing amazing, pretty normal in taste, like a 6/10. There are few slices of batang fish, 2 small pieces of toufu, 2cubes tomato.. It cost $7, about the same price range as those in foodcourt. The only thing that i like is the place is air-conditioned and has some fans circulating the air.. So i could finish the bowl of meesua without sweating.. Probably wont be returning

This was my first visit, and I went for a weekday lunch at around 11:30 am. There were only a few people ahead of me, and the queue moved quite quickly. By the time my group left at about 12.15pm, the place was buzzing with at least 20 people waiting! I ordered their signature tom yum Ban Mian with double fish. To add some extra flavour, I opted for bitter gourd and a sprinkle of egg floss. The star of the show, hands down, was the soup! Unlike the mass-produced pastes you find elsewhere, this tom yum was thick, bursting with flavour, and incredibly satisfying. The sliced fish was fresh batang, perfectly cooked and not at all chewy. The fried fish was lightly battered dory, and even though I'm not usually a dory fan, I was very impressed by how well-prepared it was. The total price came to $10.50, which included the additional ingredients and choice of carbs. While the egg floss portion was very generous, it might be a bit much if you are a solo diner. Maybe they could offer a smaller size? Overall, I'm very happy with my meal. I'll definitely be back to try other dishes on the menu!

Imperial Treasure Steamboat Restaurant is a renowned Chinese dining establishment that has gained popularity for its exceptional Chinese cuisine. This well-known brand ventured into the hotpot industry several years ago, and due to its success, it recently opened a second outlet. The restaurant offers an array of freshly made soup bases on a daily basis, with the Ginseng chicken soup and Sichuan spicy soup being particularly beloved by patrons.
I had a really great experience dining here! The food was very fresh and full of flavor, you can really taste the quality in every dish. Everything we ordered was prepared with care and came out delicious. The service was equally impressive – the staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel very welcomed throughout our meal. Overall, an enjoyable dining experience with both excellent food and wonderful service. Definitely a place I’d be happy to come back to again!

Imperial Treasure steamboat rarely disappoints and this is another example. Good soups, attentive service and fresh ingredients. Interesting thing was that the sauce condiments are not confined to an area where you can mix and match to your delight but a service staff will bring a trolley/tray with the sauces and aromatics to your table. While it may seem to be ok, but it limits the variety that can fit the trolley. They do not have example mince beef sauce, LaoGanMa sauce, Thai dipping sauce, etc. Ingredients we ordered were fresh and well plated. Overall ok, but it was expected with the high pricing and under the Imperial name.

Had a gathering here during Chinese New Year. Had a platter of appetizers to start, followed by a salmon lo hei. We had 3 different soup base for the steamboat. The standout soup base was the drunken chicken broth and chicken broth. Australian lobster was done sashimi style and the shell was used to prepare a lobster porridge which was served at the end of the meal. Very tasty. Ordered a variety of ingredients which the staff cooked in the different broths. You can customize the dip to fit your taste buds. You can do your own cooking or ask the staff to assist. They also have a good wine and alcohol (sake and whisky) list to choose from. Recommended!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Imperial Treasure, and I must say, it was an experience worth savoring. From the moment we entered, the warm ambiance made the place feel cozy and welcoming. The layout was spacious, with large tables that made it perfect for both family gatherings and intimate meals. The variety of ingredients offered was impressive, with a wide selection of fresh vegetables, seafood, meats, and noodles. The seafood—especially the prawns and squid—was incredibly fresh and tender. The meats, including beef and lamb, were perfectly marbled, providing a nice balance of flavor when cooked in the bubbling broth. They offer multiple broth options, and we went with the signature spicy broth, which packed a punch! The broth itself was rich and flavorful, infused with aromatic spices, and it complemented the ingredients very well. There's also a milder, herbal broth for those who prefer something less intense.
Aloysius T — Google review
First time trying and we chose the set dinner for 2 ($88++ pax). We were given a choice of 2 soups out of three. We chose the spicy mala and pork bone soup. You can see the tip of the bone sticking out of the broth! The portion was very generous and we had difficulty finishing them. The simple bean curd skin was outstanding. Soaked in the soup, it was still crispy to the bite. Really good with hot steaming rice. The seafood was very fresh but it was strange to use marble goby fillets. Wasn’t this fish more suitable for deep fried? The squid was sliced thickly and I had difficulty cooking to the doneness I liked. A little longer and they tasted chewy. We were given two cuts of pork (no pictures) Both were sliced thinly and easy to cook. One complaint was that drinks were not free flow (like their competitors) and came in small glasses. The desserts given were delicious though. We had to bring back because we were too full by then. Don’t feel it’s really value for money as no beef was given.

The herbal seafood soup was quite a unique offering for a hawker centre, and it certainly didn’t disappoint! The ginseng and herbal elements were delightfully distinct in the soup, and added to its overall depth. Prawns were pretty fresh & while the fish could have been a little more (qty wise) for the price, they were cooked well. The meatballs were handmade and a nice touch too. Overall, the soup was flavourful & delicious - highly recommend this if you’re in the area!

Herbal fish soup... Wanted fish head herbal soup but was told only can go with normal fish soup not herbal soup, but can add fish head to herbal fish soup choices 🤔. (Will be good if can be flex) So ordered $8 for Batang + $2 bit of fish head.. $6 for dory fish herbal soup. (Test test only, I think dory not suitable) Herbal soup choices comes with prawns and meat balls. On my 2 bowls, I got 4 prawns (3 big and fresh, 1 like mashy). For the soup, somehow not so hot when collected, soup was abit thick (maybe base), slightly salty. Meat balls were hard and dry, probably not fatty good for healthier choice people. Fried fish head not meaty not too fresh (not sure it it's meant to be).

I am giving it a one star as they kept promoting their Michelin standards. Soup is ordinary, grouper fish head is not fresh, frozen and over cooked. Over charged too for such standard $8.70.

Found a fish hook in my fish head soup. But the owner also dont think is their fault . irresponsible hawker and i will not go back again. (Exited: Yes , this was happened in few month back , and i am not sure shall i review not but i think i should because it is fact. I really didn't receive any compensate or refund from the stall and i wont take it too. I just informed them the risk of this if eaten by elderly or other.) Safety is more important than the taste in this case . Delete me if inappropriate. Thanks

Restaurant
Lao Huo Tang Restaurant is a popular dining spot known for its delectable Chinese cuisine. The restaurant offers a wide range of traditional dishes, including flavorful soups, succulent meat dishes, and fresh seafood options. With its cozy ambiance and attentive service, Lao Huo Tang provides a delightful dining experience for both locals and visitors alike.
This restaurant open 11am. They have varieties of foods to choose. Serving is fast and one time soup refill is allowed. Their COD fish and salty crispy chicken is nice. Service by the ladies were good as well.

老火汤 offers a comforting and flavourful dining experience. Their signature slow-cooked soups are rich and deeply satisfying, showcasing the artistry of traditional Chinese cooking. The XO fried rice is a tasty complement, and the passion fruit drink is refreshing. While portions are generous, the overall experience is well worth the price. A great spot for a family meal or a casual dinner with friends.

Apple & Pear soup was fantastic! Really loved the sweetness from the fruits but the pork ribs used is extremely dry 🤔 Pumpkin rice is also drier than other outlet! Portion of eggplant is also smaller. Generally the service is good and staff are helpful. Food standards need to be improved :)
Jessica — Google review
Had dinner here after visiting the M1 shop next door. It was a full house when we arrived, but we were quickly seated since it was just the two of us. Tip: It’s easier to get a table if you’re in a smaller group. We decided to order two soups, though the other dishes on the menu looked tempting. The collagen soup was good—savory with tender chicken thigh—though it didn’t quite match the picture in the menu. The other soup we tried was the apple with ribs soup. Personally, I found it a bit on the sweet side because of the apple, but others might enjoy it—it’s a matter of personal preference. Overall, the service was fast, and the food was comforting, especially with the heavy rain over the past two days. I’ll definitely come back to try other dishes with a larger group.

Dropped by this spot with a friend as we both wanted a decent bowl of piping hot boiled soup for a little body nourishing. But we’re both disappointed when the soups came lurk warm. The strong air-con that dissipated heat quickly didn’t help at all. Of the three dishes we shared for the late dinner meet-up, the Cereal Fish Skin Fritters was the tastiest. And the soup didn’t agree with my tummy thereafter as I went home nauseous couple of times. Aside from that, the staff was very very approachable and helpful in suggesting us items based on our indecisive comments.
Bylur X — Google review
Oh my gosh! My mom and aunt went out for lunch and ordered pig trotters in vinegar. They were shocked to find all the hair on the skin! They told a staff member, who suggested they speak to the manager. Unfortunately, the manager seemed too busy to address their concerns. Disappointed with them .
Paulin P — Google review
The vibe is good outside, the staff were not quite attentive maybe short of manpower, we waited long enough to get to order. Price is average, a lot of options in the menu. The seafood wa dan hor - taste it bad, prawn are fresh Vinegar pork knuckle - it taste not bad but pork has strong odor. Duck soup - it’s abit too salty but the soup here can be refill.

I always visit your restaurant for lunch. but On 20/08/2025 at 16:25hrs, I order dinner takeaway for my parents, and your waitress told me cannot take away, din in only. Why I cannot purchase take away for this offer, only dining in. And why sun plaza allowed to take away and causeway point cannot, why double standard. And 1.All the waitress stand inside and chitchat. Must I call them then they walk over to me(counter) 2. The waitress is very rude and poor attitude. Very disappointed hope ur management look into it. 😡😡 regular

Nestled in the bustling area of Holland Drive, Leong Wei Roasted Delight is a hidden gem that promises an unforgettable culinary experience. This charming stall specializes in mouthwatering roasted meats served with rice and a delightful soup, all at incredibly budget-friendly prices. For just $8, you can indulge in a generous portion featuring three types of meat alongside a comforting bowl of soup. The star attractions here are undoubtedly the tender duck and perfectly roasted char siew, both expertly prepared by Mr.
5 stars for value for bucks! I don't know where else in Singapore still sell $2 char siew or roasted pork rice. I ordered a 3 person set at $14.50, and the portions were very generous. Most places would cost me more than $20 and will not have such portions. Most importantly, the roasted duck, the char siew and roasted pork were very delicious.
Jack T — Google review
Roast duck, roast pork, char siew rice ($5) - The roast pork was crispy. Some bones with the duck meat. The portion of meat was small and sliced too small and thinly, though it was reasonably priced.
Royal P — Google review
Great Roasted Pork and Duck, specially prepared by Mr Li. He's in this business here at Holland Drive for more than 10 years. Previous stint at Hougang also for more than 10 years. Never regret eating from here. Both Braised and Roasted duck meat are tender with great seasoning. The double boil soup is inexpensive at $3. The husband and wife team are very friendly even if the queue is long. Great food, must try! Food pricing is very affordable. Nowadays not many businesses are willing to sell at these low prices. Be prepared for a long queue.
Stephen L — Google review
The roast pork skin is hard crispy and the meat texture is soft but not juicy enough. The roast duck meat taste is good. But both pork and duck meat was sliced too thin to my liking. I prefer more biting experience. The soup is average and on the salty side.
Aik O — Google review
Located in Holland Drive Market, they are a humble yet skilled hawker. They are one of the few hawkers that offer delicious food at a really affordable price. Where else can you purchase a proper portion of food for only SGD2 and prices have been maintained for many many years amidst inflations over those years.
Tommy N — Google review
Chance upon this roasted meat joint inside Holland drive food Centre while walking exploring for ideas for lunch. As it was already going to 2pm but there was still a queue which caught my attention and joined in the queue patiently. Paid SGD$3.50 for plate Charsiew and roast duck rice, portion was very generous. The roast duck and charsiew were nicely roasted and not too dry. I have to say that their roast duck was one of the nicest one I had recently. Each plate of rice was drizzled with ample of that black savory sauce which complement the meat well. Other than the assorted roast meats, they also served double boiled soup at $SGD2.50 a bowl which was a steal. I can understand why there was a long queue because the food is fantastic and value for money.
Sean G — Google review
Friendly owners with very affordable meals sold here. Roasted duck was good (but better and less dry many years ago). Char siew was on the leaner side, great for kids. What blew us away was the roasted pork. Would buy myself a plate of sio bak anytime. Soup was homely too.
Felicia P — Google review
Finally get to eat this for dinner. The q was pretty long and I guess those people in front of me were buying a lot of packs as the q hardly moved. It took abt 25mins and finally I could order. I ordered char siew with duck and The char siew is good. The duck had bones which I disliked. The soup was those brown beans soup and was pretty delicious. Total cost $12.30

Dessert shop
The Green Bean Shop is a unique dessert spot with a variety of Chinese desserts, kueh kuehs, and mains like mee siam, nasi lemak, laksa, and macaroni soup. The place has an old-school tuck shop vibe and offers a wide range of cold local desserts such as Chin Chow with Longan, Ice Kacang, and Cold Cheng Tng.
Old school style canteen. Good memories of such local eateries (vs chain outlets). Located under a beautiful HDB apartment block. Yummy chicken cutlet rice. The sambal (chilli) is very addictive. Highly satisfying. They also serve traditional Chinese desserts (hot & iced) and the usual coffee/tea.
SuperShy G — Google review
Feels like a rather old school tuck shop kinda style which was really cute! Has a huge variety of Chinese Desserts, kueh kuehs and mains (mee siam, nasi lemak, laksa, macaroni soup etc.) Price point t is on the low side as the mains are around $4. Saw a couple of patrons gobbling down then rice dishes which I would love to try. Ordered their coffee set which comes with 2 soft boiled eggs and kaya toast for only $2.60. Didn't think much of their coffee initially but was quite shocked it was very aromatic and one of the better kopitiam coffees. 😄 sot boiled eggs are fresh! I rate: 5/5 🌟
Yi L — Google review
This is my dessert place after lunch at the neighboring coffee shops and it has a large variety of choices at very decent prices! It’s hit or miss as I’ve had some that were really good and others that are so-so.
Eric L — Google review
This is a must try dessert shop. Whilst it’s called The Green Bean Shop, I’ve not tried their Green Bean Soup yet as I’m more of a cold local deserts fella. So far I’ve tried their Chin Chow (Grass Jelly) with Longan, Ice Kacang, Cold Cheng Tng and that have been superb and damn delicious! Only thing that is rather unique from other places is that they like to put big ice pieces instead of shredded ice into some of their cold deserts. Maybe they feel that would slow down the ice melting process. Go figure! 👍

The mee rubus I given a 5 stars as this the taste I ve been looking for since I left primary school.. SVC was rather not well organised, perhaps should have more team work... overall for me to wait for this mee rubus ... WORTH IT !!! btw kopi only $1

chanced upon this shop while waiting for car servicing. nice and patient people running the show and nice dessert! also managed to try the cutlet nasi lemak and the rice is really very underrated. not the saturated and oily kind, more the lighter and soft kind. definitely a must try!

The MICHELIN Guide Singapore is a culinary treasure that has evolved from its early 1900s origins, where it aimed to encourage road travel and boost tyre sales. Initially distributed for free, this guide provided essential information for travelers, including maps and dining options. Today, it highlights the vibrant food scene in Singapore while embracing cultural philosophies like the balance of yin and yang found in traditional Chinese medicine.
Nice team, helpful and dynamic.

(Translated by Google) I trusted your guide and your recommendation to eat in the Basque country in Mugaritz!! 2 Michelin stars really? It's a mockery of good cuisine. We spent €1400 on the worst experience of our lives!!!! The technique must be accompanied by flavor and aroma, it is about eating like never before because it has been a magical experience NOT a nightmare... Textures and flavors that make you nauseous and the worst thing is that the Mugaritz site knows it... I invite you to read the reviews of many people who, like me, trust in their 2-star endorsement 🌟 Thank you for your guidance and for giving us the worst culinary experience of our lives!!!
