The service was exceptional, staff were attentive and friendly. Food was quite good, decent flavours with generous portions. Overall it is a good experience dining here and definitely worth a visit.

The food here was a disappointment wasn’t too bad but the pizza was too hard to chew the ingredients were great tho, love their duck breast wasn’t too salty and the black olive were high quality. the boss and the waiter were all very polite which was super great. The tomato sauce spaghetti was good tho, the chicken was tender and juicy and the spaghetti wasn’t too oily, the sauce were flavoured well wasn’t too salty just classic. The lentil soup was great too, contains onion, carrots, black pepper, parsley and more which was delicious. The salmon salad was a big disappointment tho, the salmon wasn’t grilled well enough, a lot of scorch, the price was decent because of set lunch. The appetiser bread was also too hard like a stone, their vinegar was normal too.

Had a wonderful lunch at sweet water. Adil was super approachable and friendly. Chatted a while and I find that he is dedicated to his work. Constantly checking with us on our food. Great place and staff.

Today is PH they got set lunch as well, i make a reservation on same day, when i arrive their staff can directly call my name which make me feel so warm n welcome! We had flank steak and aglio olio, they were great! The steak has some char on the outside, while being perfectly medium rare on the inside. Tiramisu and lemon tart were great too! The staff were really nice too. I was having a cough while I was eating, the staff served me a cup of plain water without asking. That was a really sweet gesture. The restaurant is cozy, toilet is clean. Seems like they will change the lunch course menu every few days. I will definitely be back for more.

This is truly a hidden gem in Johor Baru. Located on the 13th floor of Hilton Hotel, this Italian restaurant serves really amazing authentic food. I was absolutely blown away. Everything was cooked to perfection and there was a Quattro pizza where you get four flavors on a single pizza!

If you’re looking for an authentic Italian restaurant, this isn’t one - is more like fusion. They should not use dressing on top. But if you want to enjoy a nice meal with a great view and decent food, it’s a good choice. The drinks are great too. Overall a great experience but don’t come expecting an Italian restaurant but an Italian localized restaurant

Had a fantastic dinner at Tosca Trattoria Italiana during our stay at the DoubleTree Hilton. The restaurant delivers authentic Italian flavours in a really nice setting. The pictures tell a thousand words - the food quality was genuinely impressive and easily comparable to the good Italian establishments in Singapore. Every dish we ordered was well-executed with authentic flavours and excellent presentation. What I really liked was the open kitchen where you can watch the pizza being prepared. The kids were fascinated watching the chefs at work - great for them to observe and appreciate the art of pizza making. The whole ambiance is nicely balanced between classy and welcoming, with thoughtful lighting and wine displays that give you that proper Italian trattoria feel. The restaurant works really well for family dinners, romantic evenings, or private functions. Portions were generous and the quality justified the pricing for a hotel restaurant. If you're a Hilton Gold member, you'll enjoy a generous 25% off the bill, making it even better value. Will definitely return when we're back in JB. Highly recommend for anyone seeking quality Italian cuisine in Johor Bahru. Note: Service too was excellent!

Had a wonderful dinner here! The food was delicious, and the ambiance was just right for a relaxed evening. We celebrated a birthday last night at Tosca JB and I would like to compliment the chef as well as the service staff for their exceptional performance . The presentation of the meal was lovely, food was on point as well as great service . Definitely will be returning soon.

Located along Jalan Tebrau, JB. Its along a row of shop houses and smaller hotels. Serves French food, which was quite delicious. Started with Onion Soup - nicely cooked and balanced in tastes. We had their Lamb, which was cooked nicely, soft and tender. Their Fish came with frangrant rice, topped with a nice sauce. We had 3 Shrimp dishes. Appetiser was simple Shrimp with sauce. Their BBQ Shrimps were fresh, juicy and nice - i recommend !!! A mixed seafood with cheese completed the shrimps list. They serve a nice variety of wines ... we had the Malbec, which was reasonably priced and went well with the food. A cosy place for couples, families and groups. Staffs were very helpful and attentive.

Chez Papa is the best place in JB to celebrate good food, good wine, and good company. The food is delicious and offers something for everyone with a daily menu of specials. We enjoyed everything from steak frites to sea bass. Additionally, the staff took great care of us before and during our evening. Chez Papa offers reservations with complimentary reserved parking in front of the restaurant. If you are looking to enjoy high-quality European flavors, with a great atmosphere, there is no where better than Chez Papa.

Good food and great service! We didn’t even know there was an authentic French spot hidden among the shophouses in JB until we stumbled upon it. Decided to give it a try and had escargot, scallops with prawns, and a cheesy potato dish (forgot the fancy French name 😅). Food and drinks were really good, a little on the pricey side, but honestly worth it. Probably the closest you’ll get to proper French food here, with a slight fusion twist. Just a heads-up: they do serve alcohol, but if you’re particular, you can just avoid it. Overall, highly recommend!

I was reading the poor reviews and they don't do justice at all! Food here is awesome except for the ceasar salad. The dressing is off. But I will give 5 stars for the steak, soups, pasta and foie gras!

Yahoo!! A wonderful place to eat and relax at since 1946! We enjoyed our food and the staff are pleasant especially Zurina. The ‘dumb waiter’ system (pulley and tray) is still in use in their kitchen since its opening until now, the only one in Johor/Malaysia. Well done Hua Mui, may you keep on prospering!

A Delightful Local Breakfast Experience! This place serves up a fantastic, classic spread. We ordered the Kaya Toast, Garlic Bread, Honey Egg Toast, Mee Soto, and the Soft Boiled Eggs. My absolute favorite was the Kaya Toast—it was perfectly sweet and crispy, exactly how I love it! The Garlic Bread was a close second with its savory flavor and interesting texture. The Mee Soto was also very tasty and satisfying. A special mention for the Soft Boiled Eggs: they use Kampung Chicken eggs, and the rich flavor truly shines through. They tasted so fresh and good! Service was excellent and friendly. Our waiting staff member, Siew Phua, was particularly attentive and welcoming. Highly recommend this spot for a great local breakfast!

First visit to Hua Mui. Never tried it because the queues were always freaking long and this time one of the rare times it didn't feel that long and we decided to give it a try to queue. Okay waited for about 25 minutes, probably reasonable? Service was a bit slow initially because so many people paid and left but they didn't allow diners to enter. Perhaps they were a little shorthanded as there were not enough people to clean the tables. Even the food did take some time to come. We ordered via QR and the food took at least 10 minutes to come, for the drinks at least. We already finished everything and wanted to leave and yet our garlic bread with eggs weren't even served yet. The drinks were okay, the Hainan noodles was my favourite dish of the meal. The nasi lemak rice was a bit dry and lacking the coconut taste. The chicken chop was so thin I think we only tasted the chicken skin. The Hainan noodles we loved it and it would be the dish I recommend. Initially was wondering if it was yee mee as it looked like in the pictures. We didn't like yee mee but decided to take a risk and order and turned out it wasn't and the noodles were good and sauce was even better! We used it on the nasi lemak else it was just too dry to eat. And from above we finished the mains and still waited for the garlic bread to arrive. Found the garlic paste to be a little on the salty side but it was a power combination eating with the soft boiled egg. Think it helped to absorb the saltiness and the overall taste was quite good. Not a bad place to eat with reasonable prices. Only gripe you need to have some patience in queuing and waiting for the food.

Always my favorite place to get breakfast, if you’re looking for local food, this is the perfect place. It might get a bit of queue, but the staff there were so helpful and organized, kudos to one of the friendly waitress Siew Phua for providing us the best dining experience by ensuring smooth ordering and food delivery to our table 👍

Came at like 11+ close to 12pm and had no wait with a few tables left so considered lucky? Ordering was easy through QR on the table and food was served with moderate amount of time after ordering. Food was mediocre to my taste except for the wat tan hor (recommended dish imo), initially wanted to give 4 stars for food but deducted one because there was a strand of hair on the chicken cutlet served to us. Was not a big deal to us cos we didn’t really felt the need to exchange as we viewed it as a small issue. Other dishes came ok. Place was nice and tidy as well so i still gave 4 stars overall. After we paid there was a queue of people trying to get in as it started to get busy at 12-1pm. Might or might not come back again to try other dishes. 🫡

Good food and experience here. Had a lovely hainanese fare which includes hainanese mutton soup and the hainanese chicken chop. Would gladly revisit in the future and introduce this to my friends

Loved the quick service — you pay at the counter and collect your order at the next, making the process smooth and efficient. The sambal is the highlight: rich, flavorful, and truly authentic Malaysian style — absolutely awesome! The prata has a great texture and tastes fresh. The only area for improvement is the curry, which could use more depth in flavor.

The place is clean and tidy, the atmosphere is comfy, but it gets stuffy around noon. During my visit, I had to wait and queue around 10 minutes for my dishes to be ready. Oh it's all self services. ​The Roti and its sauces are delicious, and the pricing is reasonable, as are the drinks. Well, at least in my opinions. ​Parking is limited, though, so I had to park my car at the roadside during my visit and then walk to the restaurant. ​Overall, I rate this place 4/5 stars now. I'd recommend it for those who like Roti Canai.

Incredibly poor Malay food (coming from someone who has lived in Malaysia for 7 years, and now revisiting from Singapore). All the sambal was sweet. Tom yum soup was sweet. Mee goreng was sweet. Fried rice was incredibly bland. We ordered 6 dishes for 2 pax and couldn’t eat any of it - deciding to eat McDonald’s later instead. Honestly so disappointing. No idea why the reviews are so positive. Photos look okay; but don’t be fooled

Came from Viet Nam and got to enjoy some very good nasi lemak telur mata, the staffs are friendly and cozy atmosphere.

The nasi lemak is recommended!! We also ordered nasi goreng daging and nasi goreng pattaya are mediocre but can eat lah. I can see that they have lots of options to choose from which we will on our next visit and i read how this place is quite packed during the day will try to come for breakfast time next time as well. It’s not easy to find parking here so need to be mindful as to not blocking other people’s cars/house gate. The atmosphere is quite nice i like it :) Of course will be coming again very soon to try the rest of their menu and their breakfast selections here.

Impressive! The food in my opinion is better than some michelins or those in list of best restaurants in Asia that I've been to in sg. Their service and ambience are flawless too. I do not normally post reviews unless I find the place is exceptionally good so worth sharing, or the other way around. This place is def worth for me to make a trip back to jb for another round.

Been wanting to check this restaurant out for quite a while ... Finally today and with a last minute reservation. Beautiful food both palette and palate. Balance of flavours was beautiful. Wonderfully fresh ingredients, ingredients that they create from scratch and harmonise together beautifully. One should be here to listen to the chef put the plates together to complete the overall experience ... Just wow! :) attentiveness of the service here also deserves mention.

Overall, I had a pleasant experience, largely thanks to the wonderful service. The staff were attentive, warm, and truly elevated the entire meal with their immaculate hospitality. The food, however, was a bit of a mixed bag. Some dishes were genuinely outstanding. The cod and duck in particular were beautifully executed and packed with flavour. On the other hand, the truffle kamameshi and soup were underwhelming. The kamameshi lacked flavour and felt rather tasteless, while the soup leaned too salty. All in all, it was an okay dining experience that was significantly lifted by the excellent service. More consistency in the food quality would’ve made this a five star experience.

Binchotan is really a gem of omakase. From the time you step in, you knew it was special. We were a bit apprehensive at first as we were the only patrons but shortly after a group joined us. Every dish was introduced by the chef who spoke really good English and went into every step and ingredients that goes into every dish. Can see every dish is his masterpiece and pride. Every dish was meticulous, exquisite and carefully crafteddown to the sauces. Every one is aplomb with fusion of tastes. So much effort that goes into every dish. Everything was wonderful and if there is just a complaint is there were 2 dishes with runny yolks which probably was a 🐥 too much lol Overall really a gastronomic journey we throughly enjoyed.

We had lunch today (9th Nov) and got food poisoning. We didn’t have anything on that day so confirmed the food poisoning is caused by the un fresh ingredients. The meal is not cheap and now we need to pay more for the doctor consultation

It's not the same as Indian Briyani. It's a traditional Malay Briyani. The meal is excellent. The Beriani rice is fragrant, and the recipes are delicious. My favourite dishes are their ayam merah and kambing, which were both delicious!!! They also offer complimentary acar, curry, and papadom. However, in comparison to the other briani place we visited, the piece is rather modest. They serve the Briyani in glass plate which remind me of my childhood.

I like the taste of nasi beriani here. The beriani they serve are Malay style beriani which I’d like a lot. But, it’s kinda overpriced for the small portions. One more thing I like here are the kuah and acar sayur. They taste right on the spot. This restaurant are usually crowded during lunch hour. So you better come at the right time. Their services are fast and good. They always keep the restaurant clean and organized. I would recommend this restaurant guys!!

Delicious! The rice was okay but I'm biased since I preferred my dad's compared to this one but the gravy and the lamb was so good. Definitely worth a visit. I went there by grab. The grab driver didn't know where the restaurant is but you can find it on google maps. The price is reasonable too. Went there around 12 so there was some crowd but not as bad as 1pm

Great and great food. When it comes to Nasi Beriani Gam, just come here they will surely fill your craving. The foods are delicious. The Beriani rice is aromatic, the dishes is finger licking good. My favorite are their ayam merah and kambing, It was so good!!! Also they provide you free acar, curry, and papadom.

Best Nasi Briyani Lembu i tasted so far. Comes with a set of chips, pineapple and curry. Staffs were friendly. Parking is plenty around the area and average cleanliness. Highly recommended for Briyani lovers!

They seem to have a good following, gets well rated/ reviewed on Google Map, and always crowded during lunch/ meal times. For my experience, it was a weekday afternoon (~2pm), I could walk in and get a table at the aircon section immediately (restaurant was at 5% capacity, if I included non aircon section). It was my first time, so I asked for their signature item, and I was recommended fried chicken chop with mushroom sauce, and I went for the version with 2 fried eggs added. Lunch was served quickly, the fried eggs looked good, they were runny, and went well with the chicken chop. But the chicken chop itself was very average, I don't get the fanfare about it.. everything else like the potatoes and coleslaw were just as average too. Maybe it's just me, I'm sure it's fans would say otherwise.

Living up to its name “best chicken chop in town” ! A satisfying meal. I assumed the original chicken chop was the grilled version but was told that it was the ‘fried’ version (like cutlet). It was really tasty with the mushroom sauce. Very generous serving. Love the old school vibes.

Ordered the grilled chicken chop with black pepper sauce and a hot Hainan coffee. The black pepper sauce was flavorful with a strong pepper kick and paired well with the chicken. The chop was made with drumstick and thigh meat, giving it a nice tender texture. Potato wedges were decent, though the salad dressing was a bit too watery. The Hainan coffee could have been stronger, as it tasted slightly below average. Overall, a decent meal. Worth to come back for the black pepper sauce :)

The mee mamak was really good! Chicken chop was tender and the potato wedges were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside 😋 Small side note: orange juice and horlicks were diluted.

Food wise, the chicken chop was pretty decent. For drinks, I had iced coffee and it was pretty decent (but doesn't have the strong "kick" to it). Take note, roasted peanut was served by default as you're seated. Be mindful that those are not complimentary....

I had the crispy chicken chop with mushroom sauce and an ice lemon drink. The chicken was extremely succulent and tasty, and the drink was a bit sweet but very refreshing. I'm glad I walked down to visit here and I'd certainly come back again!

Chanced upon this place and decided to try - super glad I did! Lunch deal was extremely value for money, food served tasted amazing as well! Loved everything from the our three course meal, especially our mains - carbonara and angus steak~ Tiramisu is one of the better ones I have tasted as well!! A real hidden gem. Server was lovely and willing to accommodate to my special request in terms of food.

The restaurant has a cozy, welcoming vibe with warm lighting and a homely interior. Service was friendly. The steak we ordered was absolutely perfect — juicy, tender, and seasoned just right. It had a lovely sear on the outside while staying perfectly pink and moist inside. The lamb shank was another highlight: fall-off-the-bone tender with a rich, comforting sauce that paired wonderfully with the creamy mash. We also had pasta, grilled fish with seafood, and finished with a tiramisu that was light, creamy, and not overly sweet — a delightful end to the meal.

Great Ambience and I love their music! Great Service too! They have house wine by glass. Food was tasty but cheese in pizza was a bit salty for my liking. Pity they don’t serve pork so there isn’t any Prosciutto or Porchetta. Parking can be a problem if you are unlucky. Gotten a lot with 5mins walk.

Tried the two course set, which started with classic table bread served with olive oil. I had the minestrone in bianco, a lighter white version of the traditional soup, and the Australian beef flank as the main, which was nicely cooked and full of flavour. Also added a plate of fusilli al pesto on the side. Simple, fresh, and well executed. Solid meal overall.

Honestly, I want to gatekeep this place so bad because it's something else that I have ever experienced. Phenomenal experience both in service and the menu itself. If you have the chance to try the burata, do not hesitate. It's the best menu item I have ever taste. The server was very considerate even for out of place new patron like me that convinced me to come again in near future. On the side note, the only thing I would criticise is the cheese filling for the chicken dish that I bought, petto Di pollo. Unlike cheese filling in cordon bleu that is melty all the way, the choice of cheese for this is off for me. In the first few bite, sure it's melty. But towards halfway into the dish it congeal, harden, and not that pleasing to taste. I would either consider other type of cheese or ditch it entirely as the chicken can be shine by itself. Other than that little nitpicking of mine, I would absolutely love to come again. P.S. I would love if they could offer me extra bread next time. It's was so good that I regret to hobble it up so fast before the appetiser came

2025.9.5 (Fri) Arrived before 12noon today. No queue + rainy day. I have ate here countless of times and have find the gravy getting less and less lemak. While it still tastes good, it used to taste even better, before the shop expanded to aircon seating. We had the fish tail today. Because it is rainy day, it tastes extra 👍👍👍. I even bought the packed gravy back to freeze. Another bonus we discovered: they have fresh kedongdong!! I will definitely come back here for this antioxidant drink !!

Service is quick. The waiting line was surprising short around 1.30 pm. Lunch was pleasant in the air con . Take away is available with the fish uncook and you simply just need to heat up everything that was prepacked. The curry could be spicier. Recommend to add additional fish. Our small pot contain only 2 fish cuts. The bean curd and achar is also additional. Total cost with a drink @ $62/- ringgit.

Absolutely worth the wait! The curry fish head at Kam Long Ah Zai is rich, fragrant, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of spice and creaminess. Piping hot delicious fish head curry. The fish head was slightly less hot than the curry and vegetables. The curry was not too thick, so I could drink it. There are other side dishes such as rojak, fried fish cake and also otah. I had to pay for the rojak separately, so they may a vendor who collaborated with Kim Loong. A long a drinks could be a collab with a bubble tea stall. They have expanded to another shop unit while retaining their original 古早 one as 招牌！ A customer like me could recognise by the facade of the shop. improved on the queuing . They also improved on their queuing system, not longing having to queue under the hot midday sun. They distributed queue number tags so Icould wait along the 五脚基. We could ordered in advance to speed the process. My husband and I had a great lunch at Kim Loong.

Ok, I am not blown away.. in fact, far from it and this was borderline 2⭐ I am not sure if I am having a wrong expectation that the fish would be flavorful in itself, because it is not, and for it to be palatable, every bite of the fish needs to be drenched in it's curry. The curry itself was decent, generous with cabbage and fried tofu skin, lady's fingers. But I don't think I'll drive her just for this.

Food was good. North Indian taste buds satisfied. I have had better but that doesn’t mean things bad. Finding such good North Indian food in JB is in itself a big deal. Very few good ones there.

Chakra Restaurant truly exceeded my expectations! The attention to detail, especially in separating vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, is commendable and greatly appreciated. The ambiance was inviting and perfect for a relaxed dining experience. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, making the overall visit even more enjoyable. This restaurant is definitely a hidden gem. Situated on landed property that had unique ambiance. We had some time to spare at Johor and searched for a good restaurant to take a break. I was pleasantly surprised to find this unique food joint that served authentic and decent quality indian food. More importantly we could park car within the premises that was a welcome sign. We had Bhajji (veg fritters) and Achari Prawn along with Masala Chai. Service was excellent and quick. Tea was awesome and i made a repeat order. They were generous to add some additional quantity of tea on my repeat order of Masala Chai . Achari Prawn was succulent and tangy. The mango chutney was a killer. Apart from that we took take away of Naan and Chicken Hyderabadi and Karaikudi Mutton curry. Flavours were distinct and enjoyable. Will definitely go back to this restaurant on my next visit to Johor .

However, we found an empty land just 100m away, next to the nearby Petronas station, where guests can park and walk. The place is quite and away from the crowd. The ambiance is good and good options are more. They have limited options for vegetarian starters and a lot of variety for meat options. Staff is polite and serve well. The naan and roti are soft, they are served in casserole to keep them soft and hot. They provide chutney with Papad which is spicy and tasty. Recommend this place for Indian food in Johor Bahru JB Taste is 9/10, Cleanliness 9/10.

This place was visited in 2019. The food is simply mouthwatering and, most importantly, flavorful. There is a wide variety of food to select. We ordered the country goat biryani, which was outstanding. Likewise, the other dishes were excellent. The manager and staff were extremely attentive, and the food arrived quickly. The setting is that of a traditional Indian home. The building is historically significant and well-designed for the customer. The price is slightly higher than average, but well worth it!

We’ve been frequent patrons of Restoran Chakra JB and have always enjoyed the food – no complaints there. However, our recent experience was extremely disappointing and left a bad taste. While we were still enjoying dinner with family, the staff came over not once, not twice, but three times to ask us to settle the bill. It was incredibly rude and inconsiderate, especially since we weren’t lingering or overstaying. I even had to interrupt my meal and go wash my hands just to pay because they were so insistent – apparently, they wanted to close the account for the day. It’s very poor service to pressure customers this way, particularly regular ones. A restaurant experience is not just about food, but also hospitality – and this was seriously lacking. Sadly, this will be our last visit to Chakra. No customer deserves to be treated like this.

Really great find here in JB. Had their organic steak at medium rare, definitely seared to exactly the doneness I asked for! Slightly saltier in seasoning than I'm used to but definitely a great steak. The sides tasted great too and complement the steak. I also had the lobster bisque, which was rich and flavourful, and had real lobster meat inside. In all, a strong recommend but note the SG level prices charged here! 😆

Great place for great steaks at JB. Nice ambience. Steaks were grilled to perfection, lamp chops succulent and tender. Lobster bisque and mushroom soups were also of high gourmet standards. Less than sgd240 in total for mb7 wagyu and the other food dishes mentioned with 2 drinks.

A Memorable Night at Grill Bar Steakhouse After a mediocre lunch elsewhere, Grill Bar Steakhouse saved our date night. From the moment you walk through the brick walls, you’re transported to New York and the inviting glow of dim lighting bouncing off rustic wood and leather interiors. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between upscale and cozy—ideal for both a special night out and a laid-back evening with friends. Service That Elevates the Experience The staff are attentive without being intrusive. We received complimentary roasted cauliflower dish which certainly tasted better than it looks. Although our steak comes with Ðuchess potato I enquired if we could have lyonnaise potato and the team was so accommodating. We were welcomed like a regular, even though it was our first time. Our server knows the menu well and made thoughtful recommendations. We went with ceasar salad and seared scallops as starters and they were excellently done, and a great opener to things to come. Unforgettable Steaks The star of the show, of course, is the organic ribeye steak 8oz. Cooked to my specification of medium rare, it arrived rested, with a light char and a juicy, tender center. It was seasoned simply to let the meat shine without need of sauces. The sides of sautéed mushrooms and roasted potatoes mushrooms complimented the main and were seasoned perfectly. Craft Drinks & Finishing Touches To complement your steak, you might choose from a curated alcohol list or a mocktail. I went with strawberry watermelon mocktail which pleased my lady boss. If she's happy, I'm happy haha. For dessert, the rich chocolate lava cake (let them know in advance 10min when to serve) finished the evening on a decadent note. Why It Stands Out What makes Grill Bar Steakhouse truly memorable is the attention to detail—from the way your steak is presented, to the perfectly timed service. No tiktok influencer overhyped nonsense and fairly priced. Not cheap by any means (total damage: rm577) but you get a quality experience. Compliments to the chef and we will be back!

Other than the prices, this is a very enjoyable and great spot for steak and grill. The servers were very hospitable, offering complementary services and dishes and considerate for my liking, diet and allergies. Great mood and atmosphere for dates and any family occasions. Would come again.

Had the seabass Wellington packed with generous amount of spinach. Can’t really taste the fish. Crabcake was good as the crab meat is whole chunk. Butterfly prawn was ok. Lobster spaghetti was good too. Service was good.

A lovely restaurant with a great ambiance and excellent service. We ordered the lamb rack, lobster, seafood grill, and Angus steak, and each dish was equally impressive. The service manager was exceptionally attentive and professional. While the prices are expensive, the experience makes it worth a visit. The place was not too crowded and there was no wait on a Saturday night.

I find they are the better steak in JB . Did well the way they handle steak . Very prof chef. Frozen Lobster not fresh one , consider ok. Spaghetti is good too. Price is higher than other restaurants in JB but if I wan to eat steak with professional cooking I still will choose here.

Paper baked chicken is their signature dish and you can immediately taste its selling points. The flavors of the marinate sips right into the chicken whilst maintaining its moisture within. Special shoutout to the 芙蓉 omelette, it’s the first time I tried it with Chinese sausage within. What an interesting combination that I would love to see it more commonly served. Curry fish head though, you should be heading elsewhere if you want a good tasting one.

Several time visit this restaurant because it just match with my preference. Their paperbaked chicken is so tender and the rich flavour of chinese spices soaked into the meat, so yummy.. Enough for 3 person.. Just one thing that concern me is the spice soup inside the chicken is too little 🤏.. I like how they cook the vegetable.. Simple yet delicious.. Fresh and crunchy hahah.. We had one paper wrapped chicken, one drunken prawn and one vegetable dish for two. It is just about ok in terms of portion. Both the chicken and the prawn were really flavourful. Delicious, very herbal and refreshing to the taste buds. Could do well with rice but we had it without rice and it can feel a bit heavy on the saltiness. There were about 7 prawns and all were fresh and big. We came here at around 5pm and there was no queue at all, so I definitely recommend to come early. Price is really reasonable.

Long-established restaurant and still surviving. The paper-baked chicken is well-known for its very well-infused herbs into the chicken. Chicken is very tender but the herbs don’t seem to be potent enough, I feel. The Teochew-style steamed fish is fresh and the “soup” is tasty: that plumy-saltiness with sliced ginger exudes umami. We had the pork “nam-lu” too. Lightly deep-fried with 5 spices is best to dip each pork piece into the nicely blended sam al belachan. The sambal kang kong is not oily which is good but it can do with a bit more spice. The kang kong still retains its crunch though, which means it is not over-cooked. The tea we ordered in a pot was Tie Guan Yin —- the tea grade is of a good grade. The restaurant has that retro charm, not instagrammable but it’s authentic.

Queue moves fast although long. We were quickly given a table and we ordered the following. Paper chicken - nothing special, just herbal chicken and meat is soft. Drunken prawn - prawns are okay, soup cannot drink. Curry fishhead - I think curry is good but fish might not be fresh. If they steam the same fish used you might tell. But my friends cant tell. Hakka fried pork - okay tasting. Fried squid - calamari is okay but not worth the price. The plum sauce taste weird with it. Rice - my bowl of rice too soft. Others okay.

The restaurant so call the paper baked chicken is their signature I was so shocked that the chicken is not fresh and have a strong 'fridge' taste and it cost RM37.60 for an unfresh chicken with few goji Berry and its not considered a herbal chicken. The hot plate tofu is so underwhelming the starchy sauce is too thick and taste below average. First and last visit of this restaurant as we can opt for much better dishes st nearby restaurant with a cheaper price. Strongly not recommended.

Quite a long queue when we reach at 7+pm on a sunday, but q move quite fast we're in after waiting 15-20mins. Their signature 纸包鸡 is yummy & tender! The 蟹皇鱼翅, Sambal Kang Kong, Hotplate Otah all very nice too, had a happy satisfying meal :)

Place always crowded and hard to get seating, parking also a bit difficult. Staff were friendly and super fast service. Their signature dish Kacang pool served with sunny side up egg and toasted bread. Taste was so good and tasty with a curry flavour. Other food like lontong kering also very nice and soto was so good - a real Johor taste. Price was so affordable and quite cheap for a regular portion.

Kacang Pool Haji is a must-try! I visited on the weekend — the bean gravy was rich and flavorful, the toast perfectly crispy, and the egg cooked just right. Portions are generous and prices are fair. It can get crowded in the morning, but they serve very fast. The Mee Rebus was tasty, though the gravy was a bit cold — it would’ve been even better if served hot!

Kacang Pool Haji. Corner lot shop, limited seating available. Great food selection, small simple and well prepared. The kacang pool is balanced, well slow cook food. The teh tarik is perfectly done, just nice level of sweetness not going to make me a diabetic patient soon. Tapau-ed mihun goreng ayam for dinner. Also had the nasi goreng cina. Charred smell and taste, lightly seasoned, the rice is perfectly cooked, not soggy, well distributed scrambled eggs and mixed vegetables. Great ais jagung. Overall good quality for reasonable price. Will definitely repeat. Good job owner and fnb team of kacang pool haji larkin.

Kacang Pool Kambing = RM11.00 No Service Charge This was an Dedicated Restoran located at the Corner of a Street.  Not Airconditioned but Airy.  Its a Relatively Large Place and I thought the Middle Row of Metal Tables and Bench were particularly unique and gave it a More Factory Canteen sort of look. It wasn't particularly Very Crowded on a Weekday Afternoon when I was there. Staff Service Level could be Improved The Staffs were Acceptably Polite (initially) but also gave off a Very Noticeable Sian Sian Bored 无精打采 type of Vibe that I felt as I observed them going about their work.  Not once in this place did I ever see them even Smile. Especially when I finished my meal and was ready to pay, there were no one at the Cashier Counter and I had to go personally hunt for a Staff only to have one Particular Young Lad groggily gave me a "Sian Sian type of Awkward Blank Stare"  before slowly sauntering to the Cashier Counter to collect my Money. Not sure if its because this is a Lack of Manpower or a Morale Issue or what, but the Service could be improved especially with how Famous this Restoran is supposed to be.  Now, they're not Rude per se, but they gave me the impression that they would much rather be elsewhere doing something else than be in here. Not a Favourable Impression for a 1st Time Customer to the Eatery. Just my 2 Cents Observation. Anyway the Dish was served up quickly in 2 Mins. A Potential Red Flag as you will read what I mean. Its slightly more expensive at RM11.00 (S$3.40) compared to the regular RM7.00 (S$2.20) for Daging. I feel this Kambing Version is worth to try because it had More Fattier Cuts and tasted Creamier. That said, although the Meat/Bean Dip tasted Decent, and may be the More Generous among the 3 Branches, the Roti Bakar here was the WORST among the 3 Branches I visited. I am especially disappointed that they didn't even bother to Re-Heat it.  What I got instead was a Cold, Floppy, Oily Roti that even made me lose my appetite for the Entire Dish. Ughh... Service Quality for this Place can also be improved on a Whole.  Although they weren't Rude, they gave off such a Sian Sian 无精打采 type of Vibe, they gave me the impression that they would much rather be elsewhere doing something else than be in here. Together with that Absolutely Atrocious Cold Floppy Roti Bakar that they did not even bother to reheat before serving up to Customers, its obvious there is Zero Effort been made. I’ve been to this Restaurant more times than I can count…and for good reason. It’s one of the rare places where I can confidently say everything on the menu is delicious. But if I had to pick a personal favorite, it’s their lontong.. A dish I could eat every day and never tire of. Creamy, comforting, and packed with just the right amount of kick, it’s the kind of meal that stays on your mind long after the last bite. A true gem for lovers of authentic, soul-satisfying JOHOR food.

Came to Sedap Corner JB for a chill meal, ended up being served samosa by a robot like it was the year 3025. I didn’t know whether to eat or salute it. Ordered nasi ayam sambal — chicken was juicy, rice was fluffy, and the sambal? SPICY enough to reset my Wi-Fi. It slapped me with heat, but lovingly. Like a spicy hug from your makcik who doesn’t believe in mild food. Washed it down with iced lemon tea so refreshing, I momentarily forgot my sins. Indoor seating was comfy with a nice view, and let’s not forget the robot. It glided over like WALL-E but with snacks. I nearly asked it for life advice. In conclusion: sedap food, sambal drama, and a robot sidekick. What more do you want? Flying nasi lemak? 10/10 would let the robot serve me again!

If you're keen on trying an authentic Laksa Johor in a comfortable café setting, Sedap Corner is a solid choice, especially if you appreciate local Johor specialties. The laksa is generally well-regarded, offering that classic rich gravy and spaghetti twist that defines the dish.

For this pricing and the amount of food, it was a steal. The fish tasted fresh. Penang kway teow tasted great, and the nasi lemak was very fragrant. The squid could’ve been better but maybe because we came an hour before closing. Thus, this standard with only one hour before closing, I would say its great. Air conditioning, plenty of parking, food delivered by a robot (lol, quite entertaining), a clean prayer space, family friendly and nice staff. Would definitely recommend and I will definitely be coming back.

They got all the local staples like lontong, mee bandung, and plenty of kuih. Food was alright, but prices are a little on the high side. I also ordered cendol, and I’m pretty sure they used frozen coconut milk which kind of took away the freshness. Overall, just okay for me.

The worst ever chicken paprik to try... It was too salty... Not worth the price... The environment is awesome but then whats the point if u dont serve good food... The kuih-kuih are 6/10.. Ketayap felt like artificial covonut...I asked for a glass of ice water and got it after 10mins of waiting... Service is really bad.. They have a calling bell but they chose to ignore it.. No apology for late serving... I will definitely not recommend this place.. and no way i'm coming to this place anymore...

Every dish was exceptional—felt like dining in a five-star hotel. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, and the service was top-notch. Highly recommend this cafe as one of the best in Johor!

Other than the ambience, nothing else is great. Food portion is small and expensive. Drinks sounded fanciful but is just some simple flavored water. Taste of food—-nothing to shout about. Wouldn’t recommend.

This industrial cafe amazed me, with a very elegant display, a lot of unique display looks nice, space arrangement very comfortable. Food also tasty, however one of our friend order fish and chips which not recommended. Weekday less people

Nice environment. Food are very sweet based, pulled pork is nice but very sweet, wish can reduce the sugar level. Ordered creamy tomato prawn pasta, creamy but also sweet. Wish the chef can reduce their sugar in cooking. Due to the oversweetness, I will reduce the food rating. Dessert took quite a while to order. Gelato with apple. Nicely done.

However, the portions are on the smaller side, which might leave some diners wanting more. The coffee is equally impressive, with a rich aroma and smooth flavor. Overall, is a fantastic spot for a cozy meal, especially if you appreciate good food in a serene atmosphere. A little more generosity in portion sizes would make the experience even better!

Famous place. Koay teow noodle is good..for me, the soup is well-balanced and the rest of the dishes, as expected. Not much service and atmosphere, standard as expected from a local establishment but plus point, they have air-conditioning, so it helps as you dine more comfortably. Unfortunately, parking is at the roadside. Price, average close to rm17/pax, not bad?

Old-school kway chap for a pretty good price. The meat was cooked alright but the soup and the kway teow are stand-outs. Very herbal and rich. Service was fast but no-frills. Takes me back to how Singapore used to be a few decades ago. Great for a late night pip stop.

Big Intestine = RM9.00 Small Intestine = RM9.00 Pork Belly = RM9.00 1 Bowl of Kway ＝ Don't know Final Bill for a Solo Diner = RM14.50 No Service Charges When people discuss about Famous Eateries in Stulang Laut, THIS place will definitely come up.  Very Highly Regarded and Well Discussed in Food Blogs so much so that it feels like the name Woon Kiang is practically Synonymous with Taman Stulang Laut itself. What this Place is, is basically a Kway Teow Kia Eatery that only opens in the Evenings.  Kway Teow Kia itself is a Classic Signature Dish of Johor Bahru so you can imagine how Famous you must be to be an Eatery that is actually Well-Known for it. Despite its Near Legendary Status, the Actual Place is not a High-End Restoran, but rather an Old Looking Eatery with a Very Weathered Signboard lighted up in a Very Classic 1970s-1980s Style.  Like Most Dedicated KTK Eateries, the Main Cooking Station is right at the Entrance where you also order, with a Large Indoor (Air-Conditioned) Dining Area, although the Air-Con wasn't Cold  when I came during their Opening Time at 5.00pm on a Saturday Night. Even though there were No Big Crowds or Long Queues at their Opening Hour of 5.00pm on a Saturday Night, I noticed Business was still pretty Brisk with Customers streaming in and out as I ate. The Staffs are mostly Myanmar Folks who are Polite and Mostly Keep to Themselves. The Staff at the Cooking Station where you order is also a Myanmar Chap and while he wasn't the Very Friendly All Smiles type, I appreciate that he wasn't Impatient or gave any 死人脸 when I took some time to look thru the Menu and took Photos of it. Although to be fair, it wasn't busy and I was the only person in the Line at that time.  That said, I would recommend to be prepared for what you want so you can order more efficiently just in case there is Bigger Crowd if you come. It took only 1 Min for Everything to be Served up. They have alot of Unusual Cuts that are not offered in other KTK Eateries. Their KTK Soup Broth tastes Unusual with it tasting more like a Chicken Soup than a Regular Braised KTK,  the Chilli they offer is Unusual, and even their Pricing seems Unusual because what you see on the Pricelist is not actually the Price you pay.  Hahaha Hey I'm not complaining about the Lower Price I have to pay compared to the Menu Price List. The Most Unusual was that Extreme Bitterness that I tasted for the 大肠 Big Intestine.  Still not sure if this is a "Didn't Clean Properly Issue"?  Or if its a "This Particular Cut just taste like this Issue."  Like I mentioned, this Bitterness is so Extreme, it tasted like I Chewed on a Medicine Pill Raw and having that Bitterness linger long in my Mouth. I can't get over that Extreme Bitterness that I tasted in Woon Kiang.  This is the 1st time i'm tasting Pork Intestine that tasted so Extreme Bitter.  Unfortunately, because of this Extremely Unusual Bitterness, I have to drop my Score for this place. This Level of Bitterness is Too Extreme to the point that it doesn't taste Normal. Despite an Average Score, I can still recommend this, although perhaps don't order their Large Intestine 大肠? We went crazy happy here from the selection of innards and organ meats with our herbal koay teow soup. We got everything! Whole table full with plates of braised piggy goodness: large intestine, small intestines, stomach, cheek and ears, chicken feet, taukua, duck meat and hardboiled egg.

Soup is salty The food quality drop and staff is less friendly that old days. The borth was extremely salty taste. I been staying in Jb town area for 9years +, this reminds me the 1st KTK. But recent food taste is disappointing Hopefully the boss and management work on it

Premium style satay, if u eat outside is half the price, but half the quality. Each satay is filled with meat, no fat in the middle, poor points due to watery sauce, slow service, slow check out of eating cart, aircon didn’t seem to be working. Overly staff, slightly overly priced. Good to come once for the feel.

First of all, the food service is like Ikea. The beef satay was tasty, tender, and juicy, served with cucumber and peanut sauce — 5 sticks for RM8.90. All the food looked appealing. But the portion sizes didn’t make sense, like soto priced at RM6 but served in a child-sized portion. Same goes for mee rebus and mee bandung. As for kuih talam, you must take 2 pieces since the price is RM1 for 2. I asked the cashier — my mum took 3 pieces, so I thought it should be RM1.50, but the cashier said no, it has to follow the set or be returned 🤣🤣 Wow, no compromise ya So if you plan to come be prepared to pay for the price and the portion you will get

Came during lunch time so atmosphere was not there as it was so hot. Good food but can be better for the price paid. Staff are friendly and helpful. Good : - pulut kuning is moist after you eat the hardened dry ones on top (despite it being kept in a steamer). The accompanying paru and sotong is soft and nice. - the durian goreng is best, so soft like cream Bad : - although one would say there's a huge variety, but it's still the same oily food or dry kueh. No vegetables or steamed items. - the prawn sambal at the rice section is not fresh and made my tummy rumble. - the chicken at the rice section was not properly cooked. - the cucur udang is so big that only 1/4 has prawn.

Great breakfast spot. Many varieties of delicious food (nasi lemak berlauk, pulut kuning, mee rebus, satay, kueh much etc)! There is a carpark though might have to wait if come at peak period (perhaps after 8.30am on a weekend). Toilet available too. Area is clean. The only downside is the drinks - too diluted and sweet. Nevertheless, still a high recommended spot!

Went there on a Saturday night, almost 10pm, mutton satay was sold out. Ordered the beef satay set, not bad, quite chunky and well marinated. Peanut sause was also nice. But that's about it. Their mee goreng nigeria & mee hoon kambing were not that wow. The mee goreng especially was sweet instead of spicy. Not to our liking but to each its own. Desert sago ice cream also biasa lah nyah .. waiting time was not too bad, maybe because it's quite late and lesser crowd. But i like the ambience, the busker did light up the atmosphere with her songs. Most prolly would come again just for the satay. Price was reasonable.

Chicken & Beef Satay were so good & reasonably big. The gravy for Mee Bandung & Mee Soto & Soto were sweet, not to our liking. Quite crowded when we went to order so brought food home to eat.

Opted for the Hoshi omakase meal with high includes a 10 course sushi, zensai, cold dish, chawanmushi, dessert and soup. The ambiance was intimate and serene with neutral-like decoration. The demonstration presentation of the dishes were neat. The chef's explanations of each dish added an educational layer to the experience, allowing us to appreciate the thought and technique behind every plate. Main highlight was the shrimp-foie gras-caviar nigiri. The foie gras was so perfectly cooked and delicious that it melted in my mouth 🥹. The second main highlight was the octopus legs, it was super tender. The pacing can be improved to allow us to savor each bite without feeling rushed

Shin matches the Michelin star grade restaurant I experienced. All staffs are on point. Toliets are clean and very well maintained. Aphrodisiac meal effects from the oyster and many fatty fishes 😍

Just had an amazing lunch experience at Sushi Shin. Decided to splurge on the Hoshi Omakase for my first time here, and I'm glad I did. The seafood was very fresh, and the pairings were well thought out. Will definitely return.

Omasake. Many think of it as the experience of the cuisine. Sushi Shin lifts it up to another level. An unassuming facade with a sliding door opens up into a bright uplifting interior. It brings out the zen of minimalism. The staffs were very friendly and are very attentive to your needs. From providing a cloth crate to keep your bag, to explaining the uncommon utensil for each meal. We were served by the new Head Chef Michael. He was jovial and very professional. Every dish was made with care and focus. An introduction was done to ensure we would be able to enjoy what we are consuming. We truly enjoyed ourselves and we can see that each aspect is really done from the "heart"(Shin).

Went for their lunch omakase on a Thursday. Fresh fish, good flavours. Very friendly chef & wait staff. Service was amazing.

The most impressive Omakase experience I have had in a very long while! Tasted textures, temperatures and flavors that I had never come across before! It is no surprise as the chefs informed us that each ingredient is originally sourced and of the highest quality. The chefs themselves are humorous, attentive to customers' needs, and patient in explaining each dish. Their passion and heart for delivering the best culinary experience and customer care is clearly evident. The supporting crew members are very helpful, friendly and responsibe as well. Overall, Sushi Shin JB has captured the hearts of my family members and I. We look forward to our next visit.

Dined here before so decided to iftar here and managed to get a reservation 2 hours before iftar. Decided to go for the set instead of the buffet as we did not want to eat too much. The set for 2 is RM80 before tax. Mashallah the portion was more than for 2. The shawarma was look simple but when you have fasted the whole day, it was tasted more than simple. The main came with 3 types of rice and a portion of lamb and chicken. The kunafa was the prefect finish for the Iftar here. Will definitely be back inshallah.

Good food and nice ambience. This restaurant is devided to 2 parts being combination of 2 shops. Upper floors are private dining for big groups, but sometimes also accommodate over crowded customers. Mostly Middle Eastern staff and service is appropriate, always crowded with customers. Pizzas are tasty, Lamb Shank is delicious. Salad is good. Price is average.

Very disappointed with the lamb shank as the meat don't tear and fell from the bone. Outside of the lamb shank was tough although the inside was just ok. Served with three types of rice n didn't appeal to me at all. The rice were not served warm. Did not finish the lamb shank n rice leaving alot behind But I like the Arabic tea although the small cups were not clean n we requested these to be replaced. The teapot was another issue as it was difficult to pour the hot tea when this teapot ear was badly positioned n burnt your finger n slipped away. Had tried the dessert n just so so. Awfully, the plastic table cloth was just annoying n a nuisance as it was rather messy trying to keep this thin plastic sheet in place when heavy objects (plates n other cutlery) were placed over it Will be my first and last visit to this place!!! Google review was misleading in rating this place as above 4.5. It should be only 2 (pushing your luck) in my opinion I had tasted better Arabic food elsewhere n felt very disappointed as this had ruined my dining experience.

Great ambience! Lamb Mandhi is my favourite! Lamb Kofta was very nice too! The reselle drink is my all-time favourite! This place reminds me a little bit of Mecca & Medina! The lamb mandhi is DEFINITELY one of the best I've tried throughout the Arabian restaurants here in JB, and I dare say, even in Singapore! The kunafa & the widest range of baklava is a must-try!!! I especially LOVE the baklava!!! Yumms! Of course, price-wise, almost every dish & drink is reasonably-priced & on-point! Service is great as the staff is generally friendly. The bosses are very kind & generous with gifting salads for appetiser and kunafa & baklava as desserts quite regularly, and even offering me a friendly discount off almost all of my bills during my regular visits there. A highly recommended place for all Arabian, Lebanese, Yemenese, Mediterranean, etc foodies!!! A must-try whenever you're in JB!!! Yummilicious!!! 😋😋😋 Have I made you hungry already? I had a wonderful experience at 7Spice Restaurant! The ambience was warm and welcoming, making it a perfect place to enjoy a meal. The staff specially Mr.Raj and Chandra were extremely friendly and attentive, which added to the overall comfort. Most importantly, the food was simply awesome – the highlight for me was the Madurai fish curry, which was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. I absolutely love the food here! Every time I come, it never disappoints. My all-time favourite has to be the Gobi Manchurian — it’s just perfectly cooked and so flavourful! I’ve always enjoyed dining in at 7 Spice — the food, service, and overall experience have consistently been wonderful. However, I wanted to share some honest feedback regarding takeaway and delivery orders. Recently, due to travel distance, I haven’t been able to dine in and have been relying on GrabFood deliveries to my hotel. I noticed that the portions delivered were significantly smaller compared to dining in. Initially, I assumed it might just be due to delivery, but after trying a takeaway order, I realised the quantity was genuinely much less. For example, the fish curry priced at RM26 came in a very small portion — roughly 150ml of gravy with only a few broken pieces of fish. The egg podimas portion is also noticeably smaller in both takeaway and GrabFood delivery compared to dining in. For the price, the difference in quantity feels quite disproportionate and disappointing, especially since dine-in portions have always been generous. I’m sharing this in hopes that the team can look into achieving more consistency for takeaway and delivery portions, as I truly love the food here and would like to continue supporting the restaurant

Recommended by my girlfriend — she said this is the best Indian cuisine in JB. So here I am, and I must say she was right. This place serves truly authentic Indian banana leaf cuisine. I ordered two dishes recommended by the waitress, and both were excellent. I’m genuinely very satisfied — five stars from me. The pricing is reasonable for a place of this standard. Most importantly, the hygiene, the cleanliness of the toilet, and the friendliness and professionalism of the waitress really stood out. If anyone wants to try something new, especially authentic Indian cuisine, this is definitely a place you must try.

Returned to 7 Spice after a long hiatus and am glad to report that the food, service and ambience is as good today as I recall some years ago. Had the Madurai Fish Curry, Garlic Cheese Prawns, Chicken Ghee Roast and the Squid Fry which went perfectly with hot steaming rice. Totally and absolutely satisfied. The melange of flavours was simply superb - each dish was unique in its own way and perfectly seasoned and spiced - and the attentive service along the way was a pleasant accompaniment. Thanks to Raj and 7 Spice for a wonderful lunch. Will definitely return and can always recommend.

Really fresh seafood — probably one of the better spots in JB if you’re craving seafood. The place can get a bit crowded during dinner, so best to make a reservation or come early. Price-wise it’s slightly on the higher side for JB, but still reasonable for the quality you get. Overall, great for seafood lovers who want something fresh and well-prepared. The lady at the counter was very polite and friendly, and quickly brought us to our table. Another young staff who handed us the ordering tablet even asked if it was our first time here and offered to guide us through the menu. We chose to order à la carte since we didn’t want everything in the bundle set. The staff explained it would be slightly more expensive but still okay — very honest and helpful. Throughout the meal, they refilled our soup three times without us even asking, which means they were really attentive and paying attention to our pot. We were also offered disposable aprons and even a phone stand when they saw us using our phones — super thoughtful touches that made the experience even better. Food-wise, everything was fresh and delicious. The tiger prawns were big and very fresh, and the pumpkin soup base was a huge hit with my kids — rich, flavourful and comforting. All the ingredients we ordered were tasty and good quality. Overall, great service, great food, and great experience. We’ll definitely be back again next time!

First time here on a Friday evening for dinner and was easy to find a table. The seafood platter was nice especially the fresh prawns. A generous portion of Lala clams and scallop. Will be back to try other seafood.

I find it odd saying that this is one of the best eats in JB. I should be mentioning bak kut teh, paper wrapped chicken, assam fish head or the likes .. but this has left a great impression. Ok, the place opens late (no lunch), and I arrived around 9pm on a weekday with the place under 50% capacity. Immediate seating and order. There were ample parking lots by the road/ around the restaurant. Since it was my first visit, I received recommendations and ordered a 金目鲈 🐟 in their signature 胡椒猪肚汤, with add ons of cabbage 🥬 and lotus roots (which they messed up and gave me potatoes instead). Anticipating that this could work like hotpot, I added a portion of beef (other pork options available too). The visual of the dish was not as 'intimidating' as Tanyu or other SG equivalents of 烤鱼.. and I find that refreshing. Now, the soup is the bomb 💣 I have many a great memories of such soup recipes from Hong Kong's 坤记 豬骨煲, to China's 劳王 胡椒猪肚汤 hotpot soup base.. and this was a very competent rendition. The barramundi 金目鲈, as you would expect, got a mud taste, not everyone is against/ for it, but I'll try the snapper next time (pricier). The fish itself was sizeable, fresh, and well cooked. Unlike the heavy flavors of spice and mala on a grilled fish, this is a lot more 'refine'. Yes, the kitchen gave me potatoes instead of lotus roots, but it went well with the hotpot and slowed cooked till a mushy state at the end, which made both the potato nicer, as well the soup. The cabbage is a must have, it adds sweetness to the soup and very nice by itself in the soup's flavor. The beef was quite forgettable in my opinion, but I might still go for their pork options in the future. My family has a customary style to end such meals, which is to make a 泡饭 out of it. So, adding the brilliant soup base over a small portion of rice, it was super. Now, RM 120 for this meal not exactly an economical dinner, but it's absolutely good value. I'll be back with a gang the next time. Please don't drop your high standards :)

In my waiting list for quite a while. Finally I tried it. Based on recommendations pig stomach soup based are their signature. For us don’t eat organ choose to have little spicy for Sichuan Mala. Different varieties of fish can choose. Can add on sides dishes as well. Recommended to come. Hard for me to returned to that restaurant if the taste doesn’t match my requirements. For fat fish definitely will be back.

Amazing pork ribs , have done here since 2023 the standard always uphold , the service staff is always sweet and positive . The atmosphere is very chilling , came back here to celebrate my birthday with my favourite pork ribs. When I think of pork ribs I will always come back here for it. It definitely a best place to eat with friends and family.

Food is yummylicious! Tried the pork ribs, its succulent and juicy, fall of the bone, one of the most delicious ribs i ever had. Also tried the nasi campur, yummy as well, good portion and affordable. Celebrated our 2nd anniversary here! Love the halloween deco as well, so much though and effort go into decorating is this place. Will hope to come back again in the future.

Came here with my husband for my birthday dinner and our first impression is it's very welcoming. Floor staffs are friendly & attentive. Not to mention they are good dancers too. Food is great too. Love the cheese Bomb Burger & Teriyaki ribs. Highly recommended!

If you’re looking for a place that blends cozy vibes with fantastic flavors, Kayuapi is a must-visit. The moment you step in, the warm and inviting atmosphere makes you want to stay a little longer. The highlight for me was the melt-in-your-mouth pork ribs, perfectly tender and coated with an addictive Balinese-style chili sauce – a true flavor bomb. The chicken and pork satay are also spot-on, smoky and juicy, but the chicken satay in particular stole my heart with its rich, aromatic seasoning. Generous portions, reasonable prices, and service that makes you feel welcome – Kayuapi ticks all the boxes for a satisfying dining experience.

Went at 8pm, place was empty with only one other group dining. Requested to seat on the upper floor, but staff said it was reserved for an event (There was no event there even until we left at 930). Fried duck was as dry as sandpaper, with no sauce provided to help moisten it. Pork collar was equally dry, which instead came as pork chops, not sure why the serving of fries on the side. Open kitchen concept in the restaurant, most used appliance was the microwave.

Very reasonably priced, ribs were fork tender. Stays we're huge though for pork I would have preferred the usual mutton or beef marinate rather than chicken marinate

Delicious Peking Duck! Very elegantly cooked. Every dish we ordered were perfectly cooked. Service was great too! However I must say the restrooms need some attention especially the ladies. We went at 6pm which was when the restaurant opens, so not sure what went on but it was very much in need of some wiping down. Aside from this, we enjoyed the food very much! Thank you!

Wan Li Chinese Restaurant is one of the best halal restaurant in JB area. The dining atmosphere here is nice and relaxing. The decoration is luxury and beautiful. There are 4 private function room suitable for group gathering. Famous with Peking Duck, and the Manager had good skill in seperating duck skin from the meat, All soup and foods order taste good. The desserts bit over sweet. The staffs is incredible, provide good services. Nice and patience. Good to communicate and chat with. Is a Plus point.

Eating here is like playing the russian roulette, you never know what you're going to get and who is the one cooking so the same dish tastes kinda different everytime you go. But for the price paid which is relatively affordable, you gotta give and take a bit. The plus point is that service staff are generally polite, and long time service staff here are knowledgeable, proactive and friendly. I like that there are welcome dishes now that come at no extra costs unlike other restaurants which sneakily add it to your bill. The welcome dishes are unique and tasty too.

This here dim sum taste is good, siumai so juicy, my favorite choice is the egg tarts. But there are too few choices

Food quality is great! The dim sums are tasty & Peking duck is crispy. Recommend the custard buns, fish porridge & the stir-fry qing long chai with olive. Custard buns are filled with lava custard, hot but not too salty. Fish porridge is those Cantonese style porridge, there are 4-5 slices of fish. Seldom have stir-fry vegetables with olive, there is a list of vegetables for you to choose & the dish has a bit of wok hey. The service is great, the waiters & waitress always attend to customers needs. Help to refill tea without requesting. It’s a good choice for family with elderly.

We had lunch here for the first time. The service and the food was very good. The dim sum was good and I absolutely love the stir fried dishes. The peking duck skin were crispy and well sliced. The environment was very comfortable and bright. I would definitely remcommend and come back here

Located within the Renaissance Johor Bahru Hotel, this restaurant serves dim sum, seafood and Cantonese dishes. The food served is halal, so there are no pork dishes available. We have heard about their famous peking duck, and after trying it, we think it did live up to its hype. The skin is crispy, and the duck meat, after a second stir fry, remains super tender. Other dishes were equally decent. Will definitely return to try other seafood dishes and dim sum on another occasion. Update - Tried the dim sum options the following day, very good, and portion sizes are big.

Had an amazing time at The Replacement Lodge & Kitchen! All the food we had was really good, the vibes and service spot on, and it was such a pleasure connecting a little with Sukee, who has been running this place for 10 years. You can feel the heart and care that goes into the space. Wishing the team continued success and many more years ahead!

Had breakfast here and had the eggs benedict and salmon bagel. Both dishes tasted great! Plating is amazing too. Ordered a tiramisu to finish off the meal, tasted great as well. Coffee is a must try here since they use their home blend beans which tasted so differently that we loved it! Will come back to try other dishes.

I ordered a mocha from the "Classic" menu and it was underwhelming at best. I suggest ordering from one of the premium coffee options instead. The SSC Bao was quite enjoyable with a strong mustard based sauce. The overall atmosphere of the place is very charming. Definitely a nice place to chill.

Very good restaurant/cafe, was surprised it wasn't full during weekend lunch peak hour for the relatively high standard. Ordered the eggs benedict with salmon, tomato soup, (and a side scrambled eggs to hit minimum for klook voucher). The churros was free as it came with the voucher. Churros was probably the best we ever had - texture was perfect and not too sweet. Tomato soup was above average and eggs benedict was above average too. Service level was okay, the staff mixed up our order and was not great at explaining the add-ons on the menu. Restaurant was nice and clean with very good ambience.

The Replacement was one of my regular cafes to visit when coming to JB since many years before. However, noted from this recent visit that the menu was updated and there is no more aglio olio (used to be crabmeat aglio olio many years back if I remember correctly, and to smoked duck aglio olio in recent years) in the updated menu. The aglio olio (to me) was the classic dish that is a must order when dining at The Replacement. Ordered French toast and duck confit (new on the menu) in this visit instead. The French toast is different from what we used to have (thicker toast somehow?) and the duck meat was dry/tough, not what I would expect from a duck confit dish. The French toast was acceptable I guess but would advise not to order the duck confit. Quite a disappointing visit (without the aglio olio) and with the ample choices around, I’ll likely not be back in the near future.

The food was quite good and the brownies is also nice,but just a bit too sweet ,and the breakfast plate was nice also .But the service is quite bad because we waiting fr the food come from 1030-1130 almost 1hour. I hope they can improve more for their service. The place is quiet nice and pretty for taking picture ,this cafe have aesthetic and classy vibes too.

The Replacement – Lodge & Kitchen (or should I say The Replace-mentality) Walked into The Replacement, expecting a warm lodge vibe and some kitchen magic. Instead, I got a cold front — no smiles, no greetings, just service staff standing around like mannequins on display. I even had to fetch my own menu — maybe that’s the self-service they forgot to advertise. When I asked what fish was used for their fish and chips, I got a sour-faced grunt. Asked why the nasi lemak rice was blue (I cook mine with pea flowers but theirs looked like food coloring gone wrong) — and still no attempt at explanation. Staff didn’t even bother to approach, just stayed glued to their spots like puppets with cut strings. With that level of indifference, my appetite vanished faster than a dog biscuit on the floor. I walked right out, choosing to spend my hard-earned treats somewhere that actually values its customers. at The Replacement, the only thing that really gets replaced… is customers. 🐶✂️

Had the Hairy Crab Set Meal for Two — absolutely delicious! Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavour. The service by Yin Kei and the team was simply delightful — attentive, friendly, and made the whole dining experience a joy. The peaceful, quiet atmosphere made it even more enjoyable. A wonderful meal all around — thank you!

Always our go to when we have craving for wok-hey, sze char, Chinese dishes and Dragon-i didn't disappoint! We ordered braised veg with pork belly, spicy szechuan chicken cubes, stir fry eggplant, and XLBs. And every dish was done well to the right taste. Service team was very attentive to ours (and all customers' orders/requests - as I could tell from their response to customers' raised hands). Keep it up! Will be back for the 6th time soon.

Had a quick bite at my usual haunt except this time I'm flying solo. Had the dumpling in red oil noodles areulived just warm enough for me to savour immediately. There was also a complimentary xiao long bao in exchange for honest feedback. The taste and proportion of skin to fillings is almost right. Nowleft to consider is the final price point. After all DTF is just round the corner.. Always a pleasant experience during each visit...

Have always been a regular at Dragon I from their trying Peking duck to a meal with their regular dishes. Standards have always been consistent with some occasional new dishes from time to time. Service crew is always conscientious too. 👌👌

First time coming here to dine, xiao long bao was good and peking duck was delicious, lai zi ji was in huge pieces and taste was not bad, toufu was just normal and la mian was blant and tasteless. Would consider to try other dishes next time.

"Old habits die hard" is true. Every time we step into City Square Mall in JB, we’re instinctively drawn to either Canton-i or Dragon-i. The fact that both still have long queues, even with newer and trendier restaurants around, says a lot about their loyal fan base. Reservation is a must!! If not you'll have to wait for a long time. There's 2 seatings so if you arrive too early you'll have to wait if the table from 1st seating is not ready. Managed to get a seat outside as I didn't make reservations. Food were served cold/some just warm. Grilled mushroom was too salty and oily. Crab cake was not hot, not that nice. Pasta is edible so overall didn't really enjoy the meal there. But other ratings are good, maybe it was just a one off not so good experience. Might return to try again other dishes with a reservation for indoor seating.

This was my first time trying an authentic Italian restaurant — and I could tell it was the real deal the moment I walked in, with almost half the customers being Italian! TBH, I absolutely loved it. We ordered the lobster soup, a mixed platter, pizza, and the crab sauce squid ink risotto. Everything was fantastic — definitely a 5/5 🌟 from me. Personally, I was obsessed with the risotto. It was creamy, rich, and the aroma was on another level. Just a heads-up: it might leave your teeth a little black afterward… but totally worth it! 😂 The environment and atmosphere were amazing — perfect for enjoying a glass of wine or some cocktails. Sadly, I was driving that day, but my dad got to enjoy the alcohol… lucky him! 😆 Parking can be a bit tricky during dinner hours, and do double-check their operating hours — I originally came during the afternoon, but they were close to their lunch break, so I had to return for dinner. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking to try authentic Italian cuisine in JB!

The best Italian food in JB. The food was amazing and the portion is huge satisfying tummy. Lots of good things on the menu to try. Restaurant owner & staff was lovely and helpful with the infomation we need, the friendly gesture make us happy to come again. Came here for lunch and ordered their set. It is very reasonably priced. We chose 1 pasta, 1 pizza and a fish for mains. Each set comes with pumpkin soup and an ice lemon tea. The food was reasonably good, thoughit didn't match my expectations. I think perhaps reading the very good reviews made my expectations higher, or perhaps ordering a la carte items for dinner might be a better choice next time

First time here. A good spread of food and was spaciously displayed around the restaurant. We like the huge oysters, satays, steam fish, laksa and prawn soup. The desserts were extremely sweet. The ambience was nice for dinner, there was live singing and they sang very well. The staff were friendly and gave good service. The downside was both of us had severe food poisoning. Likely from eating the oysters. First time and last time here.

Overall, the staff are excellent, the cooking methods are good. The issue is the ingredients quality. A similar buffet to Singapore is the one at the City Hall that one. Like the seafood was really not that good, only the prawn was very good. Even if the crab legs, like they not cheap but they taste of just brine. The mussels no good, just fry a dish of it in Sambal, that's a good way to mask frozen mussels deliciously. Also, could do with more delicious carbohydrates, there was just one fried rice. Could do with a cheap braised noodles (Chinese banquet). You can try a okonomiyaki, cheap and highly valued. The best items were the Satay, Tempura Vegetable (can add enoki mushroom), the Briyani is good, the Apple Crumble was of that quality. The fish pudding nice for the novelty. So, I think y'all get the gist, it was RM128, it taste like SGD 39, I hope the food ingredient quality can improve. In fact, your frozen crab not nice can try feeding people chili crab that perfectly mask the taste of crab, Mussels can do the same thing. Because ultimately the staff can produce food, the Apple Crumble show quality, your satay is good. The best part, the worker kept changing the food, so it's very fresh, just the ingredients need improvement or better masking.

This place is the reason why I now absolutely refuse to dine out in Singapore anymore. To the folks who complain the selection is limited, come to any Singapore buffet and compare yourself. The only spread that can match this place in terms of selection is Carousel at Orchard and it costs 3X more (after conversion). This is like the 5th time visiting and am impressed they expanded a BBQ and pasta selection outdoors. Superb!

The seafood is fresh - Oyster is big and juicy - Sashimi of salmon, tuna is sweet and fatty - Loves fry Egg Oyster. - Can choose some seafood plus Vegetables and mushroom and choose what Gravy u want from display menu, around 10mins it's ready. Nice and hot. - there are bread sections. - Alot of other dishes. - The Bandung drink is nice. - Alot savory cake, muffin, jelly and icecream for all sweet tooth people Can get a better live band like @nuradee or local Singer.

Saw good reviews for their buffet so I thought weekday ala carte dinner should be good too. I was wrong. Waited almost 40 minutes for 2 dishes. Place is not even crowded. Server forgot to input one of the items that we ordered. As an apology, they gave us a complementary cake lol. Which was also not nice. But I guess it's the thought that counts.Steak was salty and not worth the price/wait. I hope breakfast is better. :/ staff are polite but unfortunately the food (sirloin steak & lamb shoulder) and long wait ruined the whole experience.

Came here on a Saturday for their seafood buffet. I never like oysters but the lady who was grilling the oysters insisted that I give it a try. It was so fresh that I came back for a few more servings. The prawns were very fresh too. Tried one of their dessert - Serawa Durian, it was awesome. My son loves it. My feedbacks - I feel like there could be more food choices and the servers are kinda slow in getting our glass filled up with water although at that time it's not really packed.

The selection of dishes is limited to prawns and crabs for seafood, with lamb and beef also available. However, I found the service disappointing, as it was slow in clearing plates and refilling food items, resulting in missed opportunities to try some offerings. The atmosphere is acceptable, although the presence of bands can be somewhat distracting.

Decent food for the price. The mee rebus in particular was full ingredients. The fried chicken was well done, crisp and moist. The lamb tulang was also tender and tasty. The soup though was a bit of a let down. Very much a soto, it lacked the punch needed to complement the gearbox. I suggest pairing the gearbox with the mee rebus instead. Overall a strong recommend.

Another off the beaten track find !!! This old Kampong styled restaurant has single floor zinc roof, timber flooring and modern seating for customers to decide. Their Sop Kambing Tulang, which is lamb bone with Marrow and meat, is One of the Authentic Best that I have tasted!!! Cooked with a slight tinge of lamb flavouring, the chef had made it possible for every diner to enjoy. We also had their Special Lamb Marrow Mee Rebus, served with thick sauce and cut green chilli - a must try !!! Other dishes includes rendang, sauces and goreng. A not to miss place .. good for couples, families and groups. Staff's are helpful and friendly.... they will explain the dishes so you know what to order.

I always stop here whenever I am in JB. Food is lovely and the crew are very helpful. The area is huge, so shout if you need assistant from the crew. I love the Mee Rebus (yellow noodle in thick beef broth). Foreigner who is 1st time in Johor, this is A MUST STOP place. The restaurant is an open air. A "restaurant in the jungle" concept and it can be a fun and unique dining experience for you. Before ordering your food, you can take a walk and visit their food counter. Toilets are available but it is not a dry toilet. Each visit, I wish the owner can make-over the toilet to a better one.

The mee rebus was surprisingly good, and I really enjoyed the tauhu and tempeh as well. The restaurant offers open-air seating with a rooftop area. Its location is along a narrow road and not on the main street, which may make it slightly harder to access.

Soup comes luke warm. Meat is abit tough. Ayam penyet chicken is dry. Good to try.

Last coming was 2022 When came back here, the quality was totally different, as not as the same like before Sup Tulang Gearbox (Y2022) - RM15.++ Sup Tulang Gearbox (Y2025) - RM17.++ Since the price has increased..we "OK" for that..That is NORMAL for everyONE But don't change the QUANTITY & QUALITY (Kalau harga maintain, quantity kurang but quality maintain = People still happy) If you have QN & QL both will be much better Bersedekah sampai Akhirat

Not up to my taste. I have tasted better in Batu Pahat. But all my boys loved it. Price quite reasonable. Parking was kind of hard and dangerous by the road side. Drinks too sweet. Need to upgrade place, food and everything.

2nd visit here and it didn't disappoint. 1. Grilled chicken leg. It's a freaking chicken leg. Huge. Delicious. Marinated well. Mashed potatoe was just nice not salty. Gave this a 10/10. Came fast too. 2. Indo mee with fried chicken. This fried chicken batter was light and fluffy and delicious. But chicken piece a tad small. Gave this a 9/10. 3. Satay!!! Who would have thought beef satay tasted so nice. They used real lean meat. The seasonings, the less peanuty sauce and rice really made my tum tum go lalalalala. So delicious. Ordering is from table. Digital payment available. Live band (malay), well ventilated. We loved it.

The server is not friendly, food is not that great but value for money. Prawn sambal at $35 price is reasonable but prawn was not fresh. Nasi lemak fried chicken very tough and fried few times and the coconut rice smell like going to spoil soon. Nasi goreng ayam paprik, no tatse of paprik and chicken cubes tasteless. Chicken satay very tough and the gravy is watery, guess top up water or what. Overall bad experience and will never come back. Good location since its next to car wash. Car wash was good and the guys were friendly.

Standards has dropped significantly, won’t patronize again! Unfortunately, my experience at Banafee Village was disappointing. The food did not meet expectations, especially given the higher price point. The potato dish was rather bland, and while the soup kambing was fairly decent, the prata was served only with dhal and no curry, which I personally found unsatisfying and did not finish. Service could be improved—staff provided forks without informing us that spoons had run out, which reflected a lack of basic communication. Additionally, the dining environment may not be suitable for non-smokers, as most tables were occupied by guests smoking shisha, and the smell was quite pervasive. Overall, I found the experience lacking in both food quality and service.

I asked the server for 2 set of cutleries, he brought 1 spoon 2 folk. Didn’t even bother to look for 1 more spoon but he stood one side after he gave. I had to ask another server to look for 1 more spoon as the usual place they take from have no more spoon. No fish curry. Their prata gravy only comes with Dahl curry only. Not even chicken curry! Horrible! We threw the entire prata and didn’t eat as this is my first experience at a prata shop without proper curry. Their roti John was tasteless! I ordered chicken with cheese but these wasn’t any much filling of chicken nor cheese. As you can see from the picture the roti John bread is so thin. I felt like I was eating just plain bread! I ordered this potato skin and mutton soup too. The soup isn’t flavourful, mutton was normal. Overall both service and food is horrendous! I’ve never came to somewhere where literally ALL the food fail!

The food here was DELICIOUS! It was the best food I've ever eaten during my stay at Johor Bahru. The price is affordable and reasonable for atleast a group of 4-5 (depends on your budget), with different choices of food such as Arab, Korean, Malay etc. Service here was also alright, the staff here are nice and not rude. The live band during the nights have great music taste too, it's nice to listen while enjoying your food. Parking here is 50/50, may not be available during rush hours but depends on your luck! Toilet is a bit dirty but that's quite normal for famous restaurants like Banafee Village. The vibe there was so calm and relaxing as if it's like you're at a beach, especially during nighttime + windy weather. Overall, this restaurant is the best in JB and maybe when I come there again, I'll eat there again!

Seafood heaven and lovers shall try this restaurant and shall put in your bucket list. We arrived early (before sunset - maghrib) as if you go after sunset (maghrib) it is packed and difficult to find parking. So you need to plan yourself. The food is superb and the price is fairly reasonable. We have tried seafood at Melaka (don't have to mention the restaurant name here), but the freshness of the seafood (king crab, lobster, prawn, squid) is far better here! And the price is reasonably cheaper here than at Melaka. We have king crab, sotong goreng tepung, lobster (our final menu as we decided last minute) and it is highly recommended and superb! The view is amazing as well. So enjoy yourself. P/s: you can bargain the price with the owner! We did that!

Like the crab is super nice. Services also good but the environment a bit smelly maybe beside the sea. Proposed for medium crab but come in big crab for 2 pax. So the price is slightly high.

Came here over 10 years ago, and I’m finally back again! The freshness is still amazing — especially the fish, prawns, chilli crab and black pepper crab. Definitely worth a try. Prices are very reasonable, roughly half of what you’d pay in Singapore. Big thumbs up for the freshness — from a Singaporean! No aircon

Better to book a reservation before coming as packed mostly at all times. I ordered salmon carbonara, need more extreme seasoning on the salmon and it was a small piece of salmon. Quite a letdown on that one. My friends meal are big in portion and tasty. The free croissant provided while waiting for our meal was so soft.

Went here after sooo long, I’d bookmarked this place because so many people recommended it. We got there early right after they opened since we didn’t make a reservation. Luckily, it wasn’t crowded at that time. The service was good, and their menu has so many options that it was honestly hard to choose. Everyone says the food is great, and I can see why, the portions were big and definitely worth the price. This place feels perfect for any celebration. I’m already planning to come back soon!

Easily one of the top 2 cafes in JB for me. Everyone can come here for their calm ambience suitable for doing work and study. The breakfast food is so nice with selections from Nasi Lemak to French toast showing their various infused. I love passionate owners making sure they put most of their effort in their business. Had a nice dinner sitting in the outdoor dining area. Windy.. The food is nice. Service crew is attentive. Food serving is progressive despite the huge crowd. As of yesterday, we paid RM140/100gm for a grouper. Nicely done.

The smell of animals can be so strong that once you open the main door to the cafe, you can smell it. It might be a bit of a turn off. Tables were not cleaned by staffs at all. They seemed very understaffed. You need to do self ordering at the cashier. It took 3 staffs to take my order at the cashier as they were so distracted! Chicken were sold out before noon so ALL chicken dishes were not available on a Monday. Food was meh 😑 there were practically no service. Signboard to grab carrots to feed the animals were just there for show! They did not give to us at all. Cafe staff said it’s “finished”, staff upstairs said the animals are overfed & “sick.” Please remove the board to avoid misinformation There were 9 animals and they made up to the smelly place, not-so-nice food n lousy service. Don’t think we’ll go back - Once is enough.

Foo was excellent! The sambal white clamp, roast duck and fried bee Hoon was excellent. Interesting dish is the ice plant salad which is v unique. Cost was rm250 for 5 dihes which was on the higher end. Atmosphere nearby the beach (river actually) was excellent. Plenty of parking that’s well lit. Service was v good. One of the best place to get fresh seafood in JB

First time here and was blown away by the fish. We had Marble Goby fish and it was so fresh and delicious. A must try! Crabs were very fresh too but chilli crab flavour was a bit too tomato-y for me. Good for those that can’t take spice. Shall try the pepper versions next time. One surprisingly good dish was the french beans. Fried with maybe chye poh and it was super tasty! Had originally ordered something else but this came instead and we’re glad they made the mistake! Prawns were average. Can skip this. Overall a good place to have fresh seafood. Fish is a must. Everything else, order to personal preference.

Murtabak cheese daging special that we had was definitely better than murtabak cheese ayam special. Simply because had undissolved salt granules and egg shells in the served murtabak that spoiled the dining experience. Nuh-uh .... salty and gross indeed.

Abit Dim place to visit. Not very crowded as most ppl take away. But the cheese murtabak is damn good! Worth a visit. Dont think dabao will be nice. We ordered special. About 2 layers. Cempedak very sweet and crispy. Only rm 5 for 4pces.

Tried their Murtabak special daging with cheese and Murtabak special ayam with cheese. Personally, i prefer the ayam one better than daging. Taste delicious, quick and fast service. Friendly staffs too. One murtabak special for RM 17 and can be shared with two people. Worth it. The dipping sauce weren’t up to our liking and could be improved better, but the murtabak itself taste good on its own. For people who hate onion, they might not like the murtabak tho. There’s also other stalls with other options. Tried bakso beranak there and it was okay. P/s: goodluck with finding parking around here. The only cons here 😅

Tried singapore-style murtabak here and I love it! We ordered Murtabak Daging Cheese. The size is perfect for 2 persons. It is crunchy, cheesy, packed with fillings (beef and onion). If you come to dine in, you only have to order from your table. The counter outside is for those who would like to tapau their murtabak. Very convenient and fast. You have to get your own curry & cutleries at the self service area. The curry has a very light taste of lamb. Although the murtabak is good to eat on its own, I like to have mine with the curry. Not to forget, the Teh Ais is as good as the one that you can get at mamak 👍🏼

Went to this restaurant after 5-6 years hiatus. Ordered 2 Special Mutton murtabak with cheese for RM50 for takeaway. Buying this type food has to be consumed immediately while the cheese is melted. I brought it back to Singapore and felt that the taste was not good. This restaurant is not to be blamed and their was service was prompt and good.

Having my dinner with partner after back from work, since it near with office. Chicken grill with spaghetti aglio olio and mee bandung. Surrrrrrr! Yummy delicious. Friendly staff and cozy environment. But so sad, after scan qr code for order my food doesn’t have in menu list. But, the staff help to order manually. I think the system that they’re use need to update for list of menu. Repeat? Insya Allahh

Order came out late for iftar, salted egg chicken sauce was sour suspected to be spoiled and I had to request for a new plate. Geprek menu was also disappointing. Customer service is just okay. Other menu might be good but we might not be coming back again 🙏🏼

I ordered a Kacang Pool (Spiced Fava Beans) and a hot Chai. Simply stunned by the taste and presentation. Vibrant atmosphere and unique interior but I don't think the seat is children friendly. If I need to find a drawback of this outlet maybe I don't have enough bread to eat my Kacang Pool with. I really looking forward to eat here again. ;D

On 26/12/2019 we were here. Limited parking lot. No ramp for wheelchair. Nice ambiance but slow service. Ordered Latte but what i got was coffee with sugar & cream! Food & price was ok.

*Based on my first visit experience* I ordered Kacang pool and Nasi Lemak ayam berempah. Nothing about the food I ordered is worth raving. Kacang pool (served with sunny side-up egg and thick toast) is greasy and diluted. Nasi Lemak was good but not outstanding. The marination of the chicken wasn't outstanding. Pricing was really off-par given the quality of the food. Service, to me, non-existent given how it's you order & pay via counter. I noticed interesting local Johorean delights (Mee Bandung). However, given the price point and below average experience, it doesn't warrant a future visit soon.

Greeted warmly upon arrival and going off. Food came to us hot, of a higher than average taste and presentation. Would recommend their meatball, milk tea and bandung special. Good on a hot weather. They revamped their shop. Came numerous times to this place before when their servers were all individually groomed with checkered shirts and cowboy hats. After revamp, they've moved on to a neater and stardardised grooming with all black polotee and #Cupchai baseball caps.

Roti bakar is not bad, thick and fluffy. We ordered abc and ice jagung. Both were bland though.

Drawn in by the constant crowds, I decided to try this eatery's famous Mee Rebus (RM9). The classic version arrived quickly, topped with unique, golden crispy fritters. However, while the presentation was appealing, the gravy's flavor balance didn't quite hit the mark for me, and the portion was a bit modest. Despite this, service was impressively fast at lunchtime, and I easily found a seat. While not my top pick for Mee Rebus, it's a decent option for a quick, convenient meal.

The best beef rendang I've ever had. Soft and tender, not oily, flavour-packed. The sayur lodeh looked weak, but was also excellent. Mee rebus was not bad, very old-school taste. Teh tarik good too. Came on a Tuesday around 11ish. Only 3 tables occupied so was very peaceful. Place is very clean. Service was friendly and polite. Prices affordable albeit a little on the high side, by Malaysian standards.

Overprice .. getting more and more expensive .. used to eat their mee rebus … from rm5 till now rm9… the tempeh cost rm6 … ask why so expensive tempeh the counter lady said it should be rm10 🤷🏻‍♀️… I’m glad not i’m the only one who think the counter lady got issue ..

While my car was being fixed nearby, I tried Zainal Place for breakfast. It's a simple local spot with tasty food. I had the Soto Bihun, nice chicken broth with noodles. The Mee rebus was good too, thick noodles in sauce. Both were affordable. Fast service, basic setting. Parking's a bit hard, but worth it for the food. I'll come back next time I'm in JB!

Place is clean, service is good. Must try Mee Rebus and their Nasi Padang.

Food a bit salty but definitely favourful. Only tried mee rubus and bee mee sotobut the others dishes looks great. Will be back for more!

“We’re having a birthday celebration, and to our amazement, the food is exceptionally well made. The staff — especially Miss Sabel — are very knowledgeable and friendly, which made the experience even more delightful. We ordered the Hokkaido scallop, which had a lovely tingle of wok hei, and the crab cake in lobster bisque was creamy and savoury. The miso cod fish was tender and perfectly cooked, while the steak was beautifully char-grilled on the outside and juicy on the inside. We’re truly impressed and will definitely come back again!”

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Love their mushroom soup and bone marrow appetizer — both are flavorful and come in good portions for sharing. The lamb shank is absolutely perfecto — tender, juicy, and without any strong smell you might worry about. The squid ink noodles, though tasty, were a bit too chewy for my preference — I would have liked them a little softer (personal taste!). The restaurant has a lovely and ambient atmosphere. However, if you’re seated by the window, the heat from the melting weather can be felt quite a bit. Overall, a great dining experience with wonderful dishes and cozy vibes.

Visited Monaco recently and while the place was pretty empty, the ambience was incredibly relaxing and welcoming – perfect for a chill night out. My friend and I were actually severely underdressed, but the staff didn’t make us feel awkward at all. In fact, they were warm and genuinely welcoming, which I really appreciated. The service was top-notch – the servers were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, taking the time to explain each dish and the special menu for the day. They even engaged in small talk, which made the overall experience feel much more personal and comfortable. Honestly, I would give the environment and service a solid 10/10. Unfortunately, when it came to the food, there was quite a bit of room for improvement. We started with the foie gras, which was just okay – nothing particularly memorable except for the plating, which was nicely done. The escargot was disappointing for me. It came with breadcrumbs or some kind of stuffing, which absorbed all the garlic butter – arguably the best part of an escargot dish. The breadcrumbs also made the dish heavy and repetitive, especially if you’re having it on your own rather than sharing. Next, we had the tomato soup, which leaned too heavily on the creamy side. I would’ve preferred it with a touch more acidity, especially since it’s meant to be a starter – as it stood, it was too rich and filling before even getting to the mains. The seafood aglio olio had a strong seafood flavour, which some might enjoy, but for me, it overpowered the garlic, which should’ve been the star of the dish. It ended up tasting one-dimensional, and became a bit of a struggle to finish. The sirloin steak, however, was pretty decent – it was well-grilled, well-seasoned, and came with a flavourful sauce. I’d say this is one dish that deserves another shot if I return. But the biggest letdown of the night was the beef wellington. The beef was underseasoned, and the mushroom duxelle lacked depth – no herbs, no punch. What really bothered me most was the pastry: it was soggy and loose, not wrapped tightly around the beef and mushrooms, so the whole thing fell apart easily on the plate. Texture and structure-wise, it just didn’t work. Overall, Monaco delivers an amazing experience in terms of atmosphere and service, but if they want to match that with their food, there’s a lot of improvement needed. For the price point, I wouldn’t say it’s value for money yet – but there’s definitely potential if they refine the food.

The food here is amazing! I came a year ago to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday, and every visit since has been just as fantastic. I really love the warm hospitality and cozy atmosphere—it always makes the experience so enjoyable.

Restaurant is on the 2nd level, upon arrival was greeting by their staff on the ground level. He brought us to the lift taking us to the 2nd level. Upon entering, ambient was the warm n cosy atmosphere. The cicular seat r covered by white curtain to give us privacy which l think is great. Menu n special were intro by the assistant manager, she is really friendly n chatty making us feel v comfy. The foie gras was nice 9/10 Saffron risotto 7/10, preferred it to be softer but taste is good though Main, we ordered a lamb shank. Soft n tender 9/10 Overall experience 9/10 A very gd date place for our fellow Singaporean if u wld to visit JB.

We had a wonderful dinner at Monaco Dining Restaurant in SouthKey Mozek and were thoroughly impressed with both the food and the thoughtful service. It’s a great spot if you’re craving quality Western fare with a touch of class. We ordered the beef Wellington, which came out beautifully crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside—easily big enough to be shared between two. The duck confit was rich and flavourful, and the escargot hit all the right garlicky, buttery notes. For the kids, we ordered mushroom soup, and the staff was kind enough to help divide two portions into three bowls without us even asking—such a thoughtful gesture that really made us feel welcome. Every dish was well-executed with generous portions and excellent flavours. The atmosphere was cozy yet refined, making it perfect for a relaxed evening out. Definitely a place we’ll return to the next time we’re in JB.

food was so so good - very worth the price paid. I especially loved the seasonal Miyazaki sirloin wagyu steak (melt in ur mouth delicious) as well as the wild mushroom soup and beef tartare !! for drinks, we ordered 3 cocktails and a glass wine & our fav was the jalapeño cocktail (was sweet and spicy, very unique and well-balanced drink) service and ambience was also on point. highly recommend this place esp for special celebrations as with a min spend u get a private window seat that allows for an intimate setting with ur loved one(s) !! :)

1st visit here located in middle of JB. Old nasi kandar shop. Many items here. The food tastes not as good as others that I have been to. Price normal and cheap. Portion also big.

The food was nice. Roti arab Daging👍 fish curry and meat curry👍. Affordable price . Even though the place is small and a bit crowded. They kept clean the place.

The roti Chennai was a complete disappointment and we are not fooled that this not what one should expect for roti in Malaysia. Breakfast was so unsatisfying we ended up at Dona’s Bakehouse for a second breakfast.

We ordered nasi ayam kari and it is one of the best that I tasted. Chill place. There is a sink where you can wash your hands. Friendly staff and we got our order in less than 5 mins.

Cheese naan is not fluffy enough, the tandoori chicken and ayam goreng is extremely dry and flavours are bland. Maggie goreng tasted a little bit sweet which was weird, I am a maggie goreng lover and this was dissapointing. Ordered also a maggie soup which should be the easiest thing to cook, and guess what, the maggie noodle wasnt cooked through, it wasnt even al dente, it was still raw in the middle.

The way the tables are being arranged are pretty squeezy unless there aint so many customers. We tried roti canai, sardin puff, maggie goreng, thosai and naan. Many hit and miss. Maggie goreng is on the soggier side but they use alot of spice in it. Roti pisang was the best among the ones we ordered.

We came here many years ago and the food was good. Now it’s so so. Acar buah was not what we expected, we were served with Acar Jelatar (cucumber n pineapple). Even with small portion of gravy, it tasted good and we enjoyed our Briyani Gam. We hope, management will look into some dissatisfactions and rectify them. We will definately come back

I used to enjoy the briyani here about a year or two ago, but my recent visit on 12/10/2025 was quite disappointing. Unfortunately, the rice, chicken, and pickles didn’t taste as good as before. The air-conditioned room is quite small and there’s a RM7 charge for 30 minutes, which was a bit surprising. 😅 Hopefully, the food quality can improve again in the future.

This place needs a lot of improvement. The overall experience was disappointing. The owner was not very welcoming, and there was an additional charge to sit in the air-conditioned room (though I decided not to proceed since the weather was manageable). In hindsight, I’m glad I didn’t pay extra, as the food didn’t meet expectations — it lacked flavor and wasn’t worth the price. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I kept going to this place if I want to eat beriani. I love the chicken beriani. Though, the portion is quite small for the price as a Malaysian. The servers were good and attentive. Atmosphere was okay but kinda dark for a restaurant. I’m not sure why this place have tons of bad reviews but it helps cos I don’t like crowded viral places anyway. Maybe food is not great if there is a lot of people. No paywave payment but they do accept QR code payments, e wallet/bank.

Sorry but not satisfied at all. Portion did not match the price. Tasted plain, acar not fresh, lamb piece had no meat only bones. Gravy too little. Many items in menu nit available. Server were indonesian, not friendly at all. Their apron smelly. And, why must you come mop the floor with cheap clorox when customer eating.

Come here to tapau their nasi briyani, the food is quite pricey and they are not provide me the receipt of my order (kinda weird for a large restaurant to do that) lamb and meat is too tough & chewy so hard for elderly too eat. But i love the ayam masak merah bcause the chicken soft and tender. I hope they will improve their food quality from time to time.

The food was super delicious. The drinks is very nice and even got air conditioning. The atmosphere is very lively and active, it is also fully wheelchair accessible for tjose who are in wheelchairs. Would come back here.

Tried The Pinggan recently and was really impressed! The Western food here is delicious and affordable. I had the chicken chop the meat was juicy, the sauce was flavorful, and the fries were crispy. The lamb chop was also great tender and nicely grilled. Portions are generous and the plating looks good too. Their carbonara was creamy and satisfying, perfect for pasta lovers. Service was fast and friendly. The place has a cozy vibe, great for a casual lunch or dinner. Definitely worth coming back. Highly recommended if you’re craving good Western food at a reasonable price!

Absolutely loved my visit to Pinggan Restaurant! The food was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented, especially the mashroom soup. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere felt cozy yet vibrant. Prices were reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. Definitely one of the best dining spots in town — can’t wait to come back!

Chilling, carbonara with grill chicken is good, portion is big. Recommended for sharing if unable eat alot. I edit the star as I realize need to give 5 star to get free ice cream, which I started to feel kinda force ppl to give 5 star which not very legit else I will give 4 star.

This is new Zealand steak ? 1st time order a new Zealand steak and they give me cut small pieces at rm42.90! The photo on the menu was a whole piece ! And the reviews are fake, as they give fee ice cream for customers who give good review. and the steak was pretty cold. Really disappointed. And we order the o kosong, they give us hot sweet powder， lemon tea ！ ridiculous. any Anmour western food is tastier and cheaper cleaner environment. Will not return. Service was bad, ask for plate n fork, they give me a plate without fork expect me to eat with my hand for steak.

Tried Jibril JB for dinner. Ordered the Cleopatra drink but it was way too sweet, ended up asking for extra ice to tone it down. The mushroom soup was honestly the highlight of the night, really flavourful and comforting. The salted egg chicken wings were decent, though I wish they were less on the sweet side. Spaghetti bolognese wasn’t great since it used instant meatballs, so not really worth the price. Overall, nice ambience (a bit dim lit) but food was hit-and-miss for me. Since ordering is through QR scan, service tax was not justified. Manager/owner was nice and friendly though. I would visit again for mushroom soup.

As always been a fan of butter chicken, this restaurant never fails to satisfy our Malaysian taste buds. Everything here is excellent and great service. The door to enter abit tricky, and fun.! Will recommend to my friends and family !

the spicy butter chicken chop pasta is SO GOOOOD. but the tiramisu actually just normal and dont buy the rice ah it tasted mid i think its not their specialty in the first place thats why.. but thank God their ghandi still slaps

Sharing an experience from this place today. We had a bad experience from this and never will we come again. We ordered Singles set consist of (salted egg chicken rice / chicken skin / ice lemon tea) and assam buttered clams with mantou and kathira-ya. Pros: Nice ambience with charlie chaplain movie but its kinds of dark. Food that is edible is ok. Cons: We were served slimy asam buttered clams. At first, we thought was caused by butter but as we tried more, it got worst. It was so bad that we had to ask the waiter regarding this. The food was passed around to the back kitchen and to the front before coming back to me and the waiter said it was not to their standard and asked if we want another. Clams was clearly not fresh for lunch and still ask to make another one? NO SERVICE RECOVERY. We paid for the rest and left. Sorry was not given properly as well. Product is bad and both me and wife having stomach pains now. First and the last time we going to come here. Please check your quality of the food. This is a dangerous game for seafood to go bad. FYI, we came here in high spirits for the food review but left utterly dissappointed with your food.
