Läckerli Huus AG is a renowned Swiss bakery that has been producing the original Basler Läckerli since 1903. Their signature product, the Basler Läckerli, is a hard, spiced cookie made from a top-secret recipe using high-quality ingredients such as honey, hazelnuts, almonds, candied orange and lemon peel, and spices.
You will find plenty of delicious sweet treats in this store, from "läckerli" to caramels and chocolate. They come in a wide selection of boxes and packages which should give you plenty of options to bring presents to your loved ones or just treat yourself. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Chris C — Google review
You can try all kinds of different flavoured Läckerli (pear, apple, classic, etc) to make up your mind which box you'd like to buy. Besides this, there are all kinds of sweets in the shop, including a choice of chocolates.

A must place for your global bucket list ! Legendary cookies with a special taste ! Guess what it's made off ? ..you will be coming back for it again, again and more ! Your feedback is welcome !

Delicious cappuccino wafer rolls. They also have other flavours such as caramel and raspberry etc.

Bought two boxes of Lackerli; the samples were very delicious; a spicy cookie. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This is the place, where you get probably the most famous cookies from Basel. They are called Basler Läckerli, kind of a ginger bread but delicious. If you pass by in Basel you have to try these cookies.

Swiss restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Basel's Old Town, Gifthüttli is a cozy and rustic restaurant known for its hefty local dishes and a wide selection of beer and wine. Despite its name, which references an early 20th-century promotion about off-brewery beer being poisonous, this charming spot offers a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The restaurant has been in operation for hundreds of years and has a proud history. The dining room has lots of character and the patio has umbrellas and is large and spacious. Menu is multi-lingual. My order included 2 draft beers from their extensive beer menu, a side of spatzi potatoes (a rather large order and a dish made of dark bread soaked in white wine and baked with lots of cheese (kind of a grilled cheese sandwich). Everything was tasty and sufficient for 2 people. The bill was SF49.80.
Rupert A — Google review
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The schnitzel tasted simply delicious. I also tried the apple ring dessert, and it was so good I finished it in seconds. Even the coffee stood out; it was so rich and flavorful, I felt like I’d been transported to Italy for a moment. The atmosphere is another highlight. I really appreciated the old rustic charm, which made for a peaceful and cozy Sunday lunch. It wasn’t crowded when I visited, but I’d recommend reserving a table just in case—larger groups do come here, and it might be harder to find a spot sometimes. The staff were friendly and welcoming. After my meal, I stayed at my table for a while to relax, and the waiters were kind enough not to rush me or make me feel like I had to leave. If I could suggest one improvement, it would be to add some sauerkraut, bratwurst, and knödel to the menu. I know it’s not part of the local cuisine, but it would’ve been a great addition and something I’d personally love to eat. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit and will definitely be coming back!
Andrii B — Google review
Went there for a family dinner. Dinner was nice. They also have 1 vegan option which was also pretty okay. I don’t understand why they don’t have a vegan cordonbleu made from fake meat but a vegetarian option is always better than non. But for this price I would have expected a bit more. The others had meat options which was apparently really delicious but once again to pay +30 chf WITHOUT a side is a more than expensive. Now to the drinks: we paid more fore 1l of still water than for a glass of wine which is just NOT understandable. I understand that this restaurant is rather pricey also considering the quality of the food. But to charge 10.50.- for still water is just Kriminal at this point. Ambiente was okay, very rustical and traditional kitchen. Experience was okay, wouldn’t go a second time tho. So if you want a very overpriced meal in the best cordonbleu- restaurant in Basel, go for it and tick it off you bucket list.
Leela E — Google review
An excellent little restaurant with some very creative takes on Cordon Bleu! Great service, great food. It is pricey (like most restaurants in Switzerland!) and it's smoking friendly which might be an issue for non-smokers. At the end of the day, I did enjoy my visit.
Fjodor T — Google review
Wonderful dinner in a lovely setting. We sat outside and enjoyed an enormous piece of vienerschnitzel. What a bonus to know they can accommodate gluten free clients with an authentic dish! Staff were great and very helpful.
Ellyn D — Google review
Stopped in for a late lunch. Great place. Traditional atmosphere. My husband and I shared a classic Veal cordon blue, au gratin potatoes and a french onion soup. It was perfect. Single portion is plenty for two. My husband said it was the best French onion soup he has ever had (he does order it everywhere we go). Extensive wine list, they also have cocktails and beer on tap. Servers were prompt and so nice!

Lebanese restaurant
Middle Eastern restaurant
Soul food restaurant
Za Zaa is a calm, light-filled Lebanese restaurant that specializes in shared small plates. The menu includes many different types of Lebanese and Mediterranean dishes, as well as Middle Eastern and Persian options. There is also a full bar serving wine and beer, as well as healthy drinks. The restaurant has outdoor seating, wheelchair access, and accepts American Express, Mastercard, Visa. There is free wifi for guests.
Really nice place, great service. Food was delicious and served quickly. The restaurant was full with locals which is always a good sign. The menu is varied. Important note - they do not serve meat. Shakshuka was delicious, and the cold mezze as well. Recommended!
Miri T — Google review
If you’re looking for an authentic Lebanese or Arab restaurant, Za Zaa - Lebanese Soul Food is not the place for you. Despite its name, this is actually a vegetarian restaurant, with only two or three Lebanese-inspired dishes on the menu. The rest of the food has little to do with Lebanese or Middle Eastern cuisine. That being said, if you’re vegetarian or vegan, you might enjoy the variety of plant-based dishes they offer. However, be prepared for high prices, as the food is quite expensive for what you get. The restaurant is also very crowded, which can make it a bit uncomfortable during peak hours. On the positive side, the staff is highly professional and quick, ensuring a smooth dining experience. If you’re specifically searching for Lebanese food, I’d recommend looking elsewhere, but if you’re open to a vegetarian menu and don’t mind the price, you might enjoy it.
Haitham A — Google review
Delicious food, good and nice service. One of the best Lebanese restaurants I have eaten in. Hummus is especially tasty. Make sure you reserve when you want a table on the terrace in the evening!
Peter S — Google review
We were at Zazaa today for lunch and thought there would be meat, but one of the male staff treated us a little strangely and too nicely, as if we were children or because we were women. That was upsetting for us. We left the restaurant because we wanted to eat meat. The atmosphere and the other staff were nice and it also smelled good. So, this restaurant is definitely good for vegetarians.
Asmara O — Google review
Stumbled upon this restaurant on my way back to hotel Rochat, and the smell of food was wavering to the street. The waitresses Sam, Debbi and Laura were very warm and friendly, the food was absolutely delicious and fulfilling and the atmosphere was relaxing with the oriental decor and the little Persian style carpets. Would definitely visit again and again
Dina S — Google review
I love this restaurant always visit once a month ! But when it’s a bit full the service is bad honestly asked twice for something and got ignored. Cuisine is good !
Myriam L — Google review
We went to eat at Zazaa with a group today. The food was okay, but a little too bland for my taste. However, the restaurant is very attractive and pretty throughout. The waiter who served us, on the other hand, was not so great. He was inattentive, didn't really take care of us and played around on his mobile phone from time to time. He was actually more interested in the female guests sitting with us. Was a bit annoying honestly… At least the other staff were very nice and friendly.
Olaf K — Google review
Left Without Ordering- lots of young waitstaff at the hostess station and lots of empty tables. They seated us right next to an office door that opens and closes and one person can only look at the door. We asked to move to one of the many other open two seat tables but were told that they were all reserved? Did not like his attitude. Then we realized the appetizer plate was dirty with a visible streak of something left on it. Left without ordering. I know they know we’re just tourists and that they’ll never see us again but that’s just not good business.

Restaurant
Ufer7 Basel is a popular casual eatery located by the Rhine River, offering a diverse menu featuring burgers, fish, and chicken. The restaurant is perfectly positioned near one of the best swimming spots on the Rhine and specializes in regional Swiss sharing plates. During the warmer months, an outdoor food stall adds to the dining options, while winter brings cheese fondues indoors. The restaurant's rustic-chic interior complements its wonderful terrace overlooking the river.
Very surprised about this location. Been there for a birthday meal, it was top from beginning to the end. Queerbeet starters were the highlight foodwise, so tasty and refined. A shoutout to our server who was simply outstanding. Perfect knowledge of food and beverage, high English speaking skills, an example how it should be done.
Thomas R — Google review
A charming spot just by the water with lovely and helpful staff. The selection of food is rather limited to basically one of each standard animal you would expect to find in a restaurant and one or two vegetarian options. I rather enjoyed all that was on offer but I could imagine a world where I want some beef that is not of the Stroganoff variety and end up being discontent. Today was certainly not that day so I enjoyed the meal and would certainly come back to try other things from their menu.
Tudor L — Google review
We were out 5, trying all appetizers (my favorite was the bone with the marrow), then beef, vegetarian and fish dishes. All were really good. Bottled wine can be as cheap as 54 francs, water filtered but comes at cost. Portions are small but filling. Many Spritz available, not just the usual Gespritzter Wein and Aperol. We were sitting on the terrace, great view. Bit noisy from the street, but not disturbing. Service was excellent, by a lovely young waitress.
Farkas R — Google review
Completely full but the friendly staff pointed me to a local bar and I returned later and was able to get a spot on the balcony for one. Lovely atmosphere on a glorious evening. Good wine as well.
James W — Google review
Excellent meal from starter to desert. Staff was great.
Richard T — Google review
Our plan to have a lovely lunch was rather stymied by a bit of inclement weather and the restaurant running out of food. The only items on the menu were some salads and three mains: after ordering, one of our choices disappeared. As did we, to go elsewhere. Lovely staff, and the beer was good, but sadly lunch proved to be out of our reach.
Richard C — Google review
Great restaurant with great food. The waiters were amazing, friendly, smiling, and suggesting the right food. Cozy nice atmosphere inside the restaurant. Prices are matched with food quality. Must try is their homemade ice tea. Highly recommended.
Maruf — Google review
It used to be one of my favorite places in town, but sadly not anymore. The menu is now very limited, and everything is hugely overpriced, even by Swiss standards. The food is okay, but nothing special. It tries to come across as fancy and sophisticated, but the quality is often mediocre (though one salad was very good). The only real upside left is the location—right on the riverbank—but it can get quite noisy. At these prices, you can find truly fancy places nearby that offer top-quality food and a much better overall experience. Unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll be coming back.

Hotel Krafft Basel is an elegant establishment housed in a historic 1873 building. It offers modern accommodations and boasts a restaurant with picturesque views of the Rhine river. Situated in a quiet neighborhood, the hotel provides easy access to popular landmarks such as the Basel cathedral. The spacious suites feature amenities like flat-screen TVs and iPod docking stations, while the Mediterranean-style promenade along the river adds to its charm.
Great storied hotel on the banks of the Rhine river. Among others, Hermann Hesse (1877-1962) stayed in this hotel. Beautiful rooms and interiors. Great breakfast and lovely restaurant. Make sure to get a room overlooking the Rhine river. Fantastic views of old Basel including the Münster. Centrally located in close proximity to many museums and other attractions.

I only visited the rooftop terrace, and it was absolutely lovely — great view and atmosphere. What really stood out was the service. Cyrill was the best waiter I’ve ever had! Super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. A true professional who made us feel welcome from the start. Highly recommend!
Yannick — Google review
We visited back in April and it was the ideal hotel, the service was great and the river facing rooms were large and comfortable. The location was great, sitting right on the river surrounded by restaurants and bars. I’d happily stay here again.
Jamie H — Google review
Spending 5 nights in Basel visiting friends. Stopped at Krafft on their recommendation and was not disappointed. I was in a Junior Suite on the opposite side of the street from the main building and it was excellent. Very well sized and everything in the room was of a high quality. The service from everyone I met was exceptional - professional but very friendly and warm. I ate lunch in the restaurant and it was very good with first class service from Marcus (?) and the wine bar is well worth a visit for some high quality wine in a relaxed environment. Will definitely return.
Michael O — Google review
Absolutely loved my stay at this cozy and welcoming hotel! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and everything is thoughtfully arranged to make guests feel at home. What really stood out was the incredibly friendly and helpful staff—always ready to assist with a smile and genuinely make your experience better. A special mention goes to the coffee machines and tea stations available on each floor—such a thoughtful touch! Having a fresh cup of coffee or tea just steps away from your room made mornings and evenings even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for comfort, great service, and little details that make a big difference! 🙂
Anahit K — Google review
Great looking hotel with everything you need, but way too loud. We had the room with the view on Rheingasse not the River. Even on the second floor it sounds like people are standing in your room. The windows have zero sound isolation and people were partying till 2am in the morning and Construction began at 7am. But even without construction the normal city noise at 6am woke me up already. You can hear every word of people passing. Ontop there is no way to darken the room the curtains do absolutely nothing. In itself a nice Hotel but i can go to nice places for atmosphere during the day, but if I book a Hotel I expect to sleep well and it was impossible to do here. I couldve slept better in my car in the parking lot. Breakfast was impeccable and service on point. Rooms were clean and you could get bathroom utensils like toothbrush/paste etc on the hallway same with coffee and tea. Please install good windows and invest in something to actually darken the room.
Jonathan O — Google review
We stayed here our last night on a twelve day trip. It was a perfect ending! We floated the Rhine with the locals all day and ate at local restaurants and got Gelato twice! The room was huge and even had a disco room! Highly recommend!
Dawn P — Google review

Nomad Eatery & Bar in Basel is a quirky waterfront eatery with rustic decor that makes you feel like an adventurous explorer. The slightly mischievous staff deliver mouthwatering dishes, offering a memorable dining experience. On Sundays, they offer a unique brunch accompanied by live music and the option to upgrade with Spumante. The restaurant is part of Nomad Design & Lifestyle Hotel, known for its Scandi and concrete aesthetic.
A really cool concept, with a relaxing vibe and decor, where the emphasis is clearly on providing a high standard of experience. We ate the belly pork and pickled pumpkin as starters which were both individually lovely but also complimentary to each other. Then I got the bimbeumbap with chicken, and it was a substantial bowl and beautifully made. Washed down with the recommended lager we skipped desserts although they were all tempting, and rolled out very satisfied

Great place for Sunday brunch, with excellent service and a good choice of food. Good quality products, salami and cheese - top. Hot dishes and cold cuts, salmon, cava, pastries - all delicious. big questions to roast beef, sorry guys, it looks great, but very hard to chew. Overall, well done colleagues, thumbs up!!!
Dmitrijs L — Google review
The place looked great for lunch. Ordered Falafel for 24CHF and got 4 little slices with nothing but a little sauce. Could easily pass as little side-snack for your beer. When asked by the cashier how it was, I replied that the volume was not up to par. She ignored that. Nomad used to be the place to recommend to visitors, but it is now showing signs of decline.
Sebastian R — Google review
The place is buzzing with people every evening, has an amazing bar and serves delicious food! Cocktails are made professionally and served rapidly. If you're a burger fan, you must try the Nomad burger. Absolutely fantastic. Could do with a little bit more sauce for the fries, nevertheless, an excellent choice.

The Sunday Brunch was absolutely wonderful! Lots of delicious dishes to choose from. Drinks incl. tea, coffee, prosecco all inclusive. Ambience cosy, live music, attentive waiters. Can definitely recommend.

Love their Sunday brunches! Probably my favorite in Basel. The food is always fresh and they have champagne included😱 which is rare in basel. Great place for hang out, dates or whatever else! Their cocktails are also amazing

Place is beautiful. Maybe I didn’t get the message of the food. The one I ordered is the fish one. It is fish with tomatoes not quite something I would expect (not understanding the German menu and didn’t ask…). Taste wise it is ok, spicy for me. It is definitely not WOW effect for me. But place is good. Nice to sit and drink and chat.

Swiss restaurant
This swiss restaurant in Basels Old Town is a true traditional favorite, serving hearty Swiss classics with a modern twist. The standout dish is the delicious calf liver and potato rosti, but everything on the menu is worth trying. The service is friendly and quick, and the atmosphere warm and inviting.
Excellent service. The food is amazing! The outdoor seating is good once the sun goes over the street. I could not ask for a better place to eat!
Charles W — Google review
Delicious food and high-quality ingredients. While the menu falls short, the few dishes are really tasty. The potatoes are incredibly delicious. The service is good and quick.
Denise P — Google review
Fantastic beef (veal) pan fried, in mushroom sauce with Rosti. You can taste the butter and steak cuts so clearly, heavy but very well worth it. The three sausages were also good, but the veal is the real star here.
Onur K — Google review
We enjoyed the lunch menu on a rainy day — delicious soup of the day (potato cream) really hit the spot. We also ordered one of the specials for the day which was a fabulous beef ragout. This was one of the tastiest meals that I’ve had while visiting Switzerland. I’m so glad that we stopped in.
Michele H — Google review
While the food was quite tasty (the star dish was definitely the veal in sauce), I would be hard pressed to praise the service. When booking a table, there is no mention that you will have to share the table with other people. All of this would have been fine, but when the person we were supposed to share the table with arrived, the waitress took a decorative cushion and placed it on the table while we were having dinner. In my opinion, this was quite distasteful, especially when there was food on the table. The food itself would have deserved a higher rating, but unfortunately, this was one of the worst services I have ever experienced.
Jasmina P — Google review
Good, authentic Swiss food near the Marktplatz.
Evan D — Google review
Good starter salad at lunch, nicely dressed. Service was good. Pasta was well cooked and the rosti was lovely and cheesy with a good quality prosciutto. In general not seasoned to my taste but salt and pepper available. Wine is reasonably priced...for Switzerland. A number of reservations which appeared not to show leaving us with a table in front of the door while the restaurant was not completely full.
Dan P — Google review
The food was very authentic and tasty and the location certainly seems very historic and beautiful. Staff was welcoming and helpful even though we didn't speak the language which is not always a given. My only complaint really is the prices. We paid 40chf for some veal and rösti and 30chf for sausages and rösti. There is certainly an argument to be made for authentic preparation and quality ingredients but we could have prepared the same sausage dish for less than a third of the price using ingredients from the local Migros supermarket.

Au Violon is a charming boutique hotel located in a restored prison, offering low-key accommodations with free Wi-Fi. The hotel features small rooms that were once cells, while former police offices have slightly larger spaces. The on-site restaurant, Brasserie au Violon, offers a classy yet relaxed atmosphere and serves classic French bistro dishes prepared by Chef David Goldbronn. Guests can enjoy their meals in the beautiful garden during the spring and summer months.
I recently stayed here with 3 other travelling friends. This hotel was the perfect place to stay in Old Town Basel. We loved our rooms, the views were beautiful, the breakfast was excellent. The beds were so comfortable and the entire hotel is a visual feast. Top it all off with excellent staff at the front desk and in the restaurant and you could not get a better stay. I highly recommend this for your safe and comfortable visit in Basel.
Pam P — Google review
I am staying at a nearby hotel without a restaurant and wandered in to the restaurant at this hotel. I was immediately greeted and seated as a solo diner without a reservation. The staff was amazing at paying attention to when I was ready to order another drink or food, or ready to pay, I never had to try to get their attention. The food was excellent as well, especially the escargot. The interior is also so charming in both a rustic and elegant way. If you've got the budget for a lovely french meal in Basel, this is the way to go!
Kathryn C — Google review
Beautiful room with a view of the cathedral, the hotel is up high above the town centre so no traffic noise at night. Friendly staff at reception, we also had breakfast here which was continental style, plenty of choice and lovely fresh bread. Easy access via the lift straight into the centre of town. We ate at the restaurant on our second night (it's closed on Sundays). Beautiful setting under the trees, a good quality meal, well cooked, lovely waiting staff. We would definitely stay here again, it was a perfect 2 night break on our journey to the Alps. The only problem was the lack of air conditioning in the room as we were there during a very hot week.

We loved Au Violin! It’s a lovely boutique hotel in the heart of Basel. It might slso been one of the most unique hotels where you enter through a lovely courtyard but can exit via an elevator that that takes you down approximately three floors and exits just steps from the restaurants, stores snd where the trams are located. The hotel used to be a woman’s prison and the rooms, while small are very cosy and comfortable. Ghe mansger, Mary was wonderful and we were slso impressed with the rest of the staff. Wexwere fortunate to be there during the Eurovision Song Festival!

Reviewing the restaurant. Went for lunch. The restaurant has a lovely, shady terrace. Not cheap. Delicious French food, nice wine list, and good service. I had fish and a very nice French Sauvignon Blanc.

Amazing experience - wonderful food and incredible service. We had the “surprise’ tasting menu - each bite was better than the last. The wine was divine. I highly recommend this lovely restaurant.

I'm a Brazilian journalist and came to experience the restaurant — one of the most beautiful places where I've had the pleasure of enjoying gastronomy. The waiter, Manolo, and the manager Christian are very friendly, the food is excellent, and the atmosphere breathes art. Congratulations! — Gisele"**

Christian was one of the nicest, kindest and best Maitre D I have ever met. The restaurant is one of the best I have ever been in Europe. I have some serious allergies Maitre D Christian took very good care of me listened carefully. We chose and arranged our food almost together. When I visit Basel again I will make sure that I will pay a visit here. Thank you Christian for being the kindest Maitre D.

Beautiful restaurant. We sat in the garden area as the weather was very hot. They have lots of horse chestnut trees giving dappled light, along with plenty of umbrellas to shade other areas. Staff are great, food is superb. If in Basel you should definitely go - you will not be disappointed
Linda C — Google review
Over many many years I have been coming here. The food is typical Swiss fare and good, good size portions as well . My only problem is they don’t have very often liver and Rösti on the menu. At one time it was the best in Basel. Love the atmosphere .. it’s special . I particular like that they even know who I am . If you have friends visiting from overseas this is the place to visit lunch or dinner

Thai restaurant
Last night, I wanted to stay close to the hotel, so I decided to try Restaurant Boo Messeplatz. My husband ordered the Pad Thai while I opted for the red curry. My brother and son went for the fried rice. The food arrived in a reasonable time frame of around 20-25 minutes. The red curry had just the right level of spiciness and there was more than enough portion-wise, even though it exceeded my stomach's capacity!
Great Thai restaurant! The food was very fresh and flavorful! We had a good server who made some great recommendations. Spice level 1-3. Larger tables available to accommodate bigger parties. Reservations available. Good menu offering lots of options along with photos of the dishes too. Really enjoyed our meal!
Mary H — Google review
What an amazing experience! Finally, a place with authentic flavors! like a trip to Thailand. You can ask for extra spicy 🌶️ for a more authentic experience. I was very impressed! I didn’t know such a level of authenticity existed in Basel!
Dolev C — Google review
Frankly impressive. I think best thai food I had out of Thailand. I always brace for the worst as I love thai food so much, and most restaurants are so far away from actual thai food. We were a table of 8, took a bunch of starters and a bunch of different plates. Absolutely everything was fresh and delicious. The pad tai was crazy good. The green curry out of this world. Everything is made to order so our two guests who had a bell pepper allergy and a nut allergy were perfectly safe. Really impressed.
La L — Google review
Excellent Thai food with satisfying portions. We tried Pad Thai with shrimps and tofu, Red Thai curry with chicken and Bai Kapao with beef. All were very delicious and mesmerizing!! The service was good and quick. We did not need a booking for a Saturday lunch but the place was almost full. Highly recommend and will be visiting soon to try the rest of the menu.
Aya I — Google review
I have eaten a good Phad kaphrao! The dish was spicy however you could also ask for even spicier version! The service was efficient and fast and the portion was excellent!
Basti — Google review
I had a wonderful experience dining at Restaurant Boo at Messeplatz! The staff was very friendly and provided fast service, which made us feel welcomed and well taken care of. I ordered the Massaman Curry with planted chicken along with a side of rice noodles, while my friend had the Fried Rice with Tofu. Both dishes were absolutely delicious and filling, with authentic flavors that stood out. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy our meal. Plus, the pricing was very reasonable, especially considering the generous portion sizes. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good Asian food. We’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu!
David — Google review
The highlight of this authentic Thai restaurant was the spicy peanut curry followed by the sticky rice with mango for a dessert. These two dishes will definitely be my order next time around. The downside to our visit was the service. Our table seemed to have been forgotten with us having to remind and request updates on our order frequently. Additional requests for sauce were acknowledged but not fulfilled. Then we requested the dessert menu, ordered the dishes, only for a different waiter to come around afterwards asking us for our dessert order again. The whole evening was very chaotic and we thought about leaving early more than once. Hope it’s better next time because the above-named dishes were delicious. Another side note, the appetizers, like the satay, seem slightly overpriced.
Mark K — Google review
Worst fried rice of my life, wait, maybe i shouldn’t even call it fried rice. Don’t even bother to give them a try. I didn’t even know I was at a Thai restaurant, until my friend told me.

Mexican restaurant
Cartell Basel is a trendy Mexican restaurant in Basel that offers a variety of Mexican staples such as quesadillas, tacos, burritos, and finger foods. The restaurant is known for its flavorful dishes and friendly atmosphere, making it a great spot for gatherings with friends. Despite the busy Friday night crowd, it's possible to secure a table without much waiting. The menu features beef, chicken, and carnitas tacos that are highly recommended along with tasty margaritas.
Excellent Mexican restaurant in Basel. Highly recommend to do a reservation in advance, as it's usually full. We went for Tacos and chicharrones. Guacamole is fresh and really good, same as the sauces. Nice staff and recommend experience for sure. Gracias! ❤️

Nice Mexican restaurant 10 mins walk from the train station. We had the quesadillas and mixed tacos. Taste and flavour were good though the taco filling portions were a tad small. We found it a bit pricy though, despite being in city center. Good for a quick bite before heading off to catch the train.

Went here on a wednesday evening and it was very pleasant. We were two people and shared a sampler platter. The food was really good and our server was great! The restaurant was packed so i recommend reserving. Despite it being quite loud the atmosphere was still relaxed. Will be coming again!

Great Mexican food. We had tortilla chips with delicious salsa and guacamole; chicken burrito, chicken quesadillas, sweetcorn “ribs” and sweet potato fries. It was all super tasty. The portions were large (we couldn’t eat it all). We had a glass or two of the lovely Italian wine (Vermentino) with the meal, Super friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend.

Great size meal portions and Outside seating area. Toilets are not accessible and are outside the restaurant area. The pulled pork burrito was tastefull and the nachos with sauce + guacamole were ok.

Went there on a Tuesday evening. The place was quite full but the tables are not close to each other. So you can talk with the others easily. The service was really good. Always available and friendly. It was the first time there and they gave us good recommendations. Tuesday is tacos night. We went for it and ordered various types of tacos. All were very tasty. Good value/quality for the price. Recommended!

Great restaurant, particularly the service. Shamefully eating very little because we had a late lunch and it was me plus a child, but they sorted us out for our late joiner and our supermarket yogurts. We had our shrimp bowl (cooked at just the right level) and pork tacos (proper ground corn tacos). Would absolutely come again.

LA caters to both vegetarians and meat lovers, providing flavorful dishes and excellent wine suggestions.
We arrived without a reservation and had a fantastic dinner! The fixed menu can be a touch more challenging for those who can’t eat everything, but the kitchen and service team did a great job trying to work through them. If you take the fixed price menu, you may want to clearly find out what is covered and what is an extra item. No regrets going here. A great team and a fabulous meal.

The restaurant was ok. We ordered a four course menu. Like many Swiss restaurants, the food was a bit salty. But something strange happened: we ordered sparkling water. The second bottle was only half empty, but the waiter still took it away and opened a new one. We had to pay for three bottles. I found that odd.
Sienna X — Google review
The food was absolutely fabulous, we had so much fun and the wine pairing excelent. The staff was so nice to give us a table without reservation. It was truly an experience. The restaurant is a cute place, intimate and elegant, perfect for a date.
Baby G — Google review
This place was really fabulous! We had a four course menu and every course was just perfect, special, and delicious - the meat was just on point although we were quite a large group. The outdoor seating contributed to the great atmosphere on this warm summer evening. The courses could have been served a bit quicker, but assume it took longer since we were quite a large group. We will come back!
Beatrice K — Google review
Great, thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented and - - most importantly super tasty food lands on the table with no other option but to enjoy every bite. Been several times and each time one of the courses is standout above the rest - sometimes the dishes are a little on the salty side but overall super! The only niggle of the place are the acoustics - if something could be done there it would be perfect - and as a side note, the kitchen is in the restaurant itself - it's a pleasure to watch the team work and interact - it's apparent where the quality comes also from the fluid and convivial teamwork - thank you for bringing this restaurant to Basel :)
Ben O — Google review
We had the 4-dish tasting menu, and recommend it. I didn’t like the dessert option in the tasting menu, but rest all was great. Overall a great vibe, we sat outside by the tram line and ambiance was still cozy.
Gauri K — Google review
It was my 2nd time here but 1st time for the other 3 guests. I love the concept and creativity of the dishes. The wines are also great! Friendly staff and English speaking as well. The only thing that bothers me is that both times I’ve gone they’re not checking Covid certificates and it’s a very small restaurant. I hope they can revise this discrepancy so we can return feeling totally safe!

During my time waiting at your McDonald's branch to pick up orders on behalf of customers, it seems that the staff often forget there is a customer waiting for their order. The customer pays for their order and expects to receive it promptly. As a delivery person, I should be treated with the same respect as a customer, but instead, the staff often And this contempt is constantly repeating, they see such selfish behavior as a right in themselves, after all, we are there to represent the customer and this happens especially when the female chefs are there, the lack of coordination and communication is too much and a very aggressive lady herself and other team members. I hope the owner of this place will prevent such behavior.

He was very kind and made extra effort to make us feel comfortable and at ease. We would like to thank him for his help and good service. Both me and my husband enjoyed our meal. We will definitely visit again soon 😊

Chocolate shop
Located in the old town of Zürich, Xocolatl GmbH offers a variety of Swiss chocolate brands including Rehmann and La Flor. The store is important to know its producers and suppliers personally because their products have a significant value for fair trade and sustainable practices. In addition to hot chocolate drinks, you must try their Schoggi!
My friend took me to this shop and café a couple of weeks ago, and I’m so happy she did! The atmosphere is super nice and classy, and the shop offers uncountable quality chocolates from all over the world. We were lucky to get a table in the café, where my friend drank some hot chocolate, I got a milky coffee (unfortunately they didn’t have decaf), and we shared the Kongo Tarte au chocolat with rosemary and salted almonds, which was surprisingly tasty. They have dozens and dozens of hot chocolates on the menu, as well as several chocolate cakes, your standard hot and cold beverages, and some sweet and savory non-chocolate options, so I believe anyone can find something they like here.

Amazing chocolate that isn't presented in such a pretentious manner like the other confectionery shops in Basel. Their chocolate cakes are rich and dense, the hot chocolates are velvety and beautiful. Their own brand chocolate bars are also delicious and a reasonable price. The olive oil one is something special. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. Loved this place.
Basil Y — Google review
Grabbed the chocolate cherry tortes and the rosemary and salted almond one. Absolutely dreamy. Think ganache with a slight crust of having met an oven at some point in its lifetime. At CHF6.50 a slice that's very reasonable for the standard and quality of ingredients. They'd definitely charge more in London. Lovely staff as well.
K 2 — Google review
A fantastic spot to spend an hour on a dreary day Don't be afraid to try the cold chocolate drink as well as the hot- both are great. The chocolate torte (xocolatl-tarte) is also incredible and rich.

Very impressive selection of chocolates from around the world and also from Switzerland. There’s a cute cafe where you can sit and enjoy hot beverages as well as their delicious home baked treats. We passed by in a lazy sunday afternoon and dropped here for a coffee. My eyes stared on those little sandwiches and finally we ordered 4 differents and shared. The food quality was unexpectedly good. This is a good place to sit facing the busy street and chat with good friends to enjoy the coffee and sandwishes.

A classic spot beloved by locals, offering a delightful selection of open sandwiches. The variety of toppings ranges from timeless options like salmon and tuna to uniquely Swiss choices such as Ziggeuner and tartare. For many, this place holds a nostalgic charm, having been around seemingly forever. Simply take a seat, pick a few sandwiches at random, and savor the experience. It’s also a great spot to people-watch, with busy streets providing the perfect backdrop.

Nestled in the heart of Basel, the Campari Bar is a quintessential spot for those seeking an elegant cocktail experience. With its art-adorned walls and a vibe reminiscent of the roaring 1920s, this bar exudes sophistication. The menu celebrates Dolce Vita with delightful offerings like spritzes, bitters, vermouths, and Amaros. Guests can enjoy their drinks in a stunning outdoor garden under majestic chestnut trees—perfect for summer evenings or cozy winter gatherings.
The most extensive Negroni list I have ever seen! We got the purple negroni with lavender bitters and french negroni. 🫶 The price is also decent for cocktails in Switzerland.
Maria G — Google review
Great bar with a big selection of cocktails. Cocktails are really well made. Love their thin french fries. Service however is quite slow and when they are busy it takes awhile for drinks. They forgot out food so we had to go and remind them.

First of all, the interior of the bar is absolutely stunning. The staff are not only friendly but also highly professional. The drinks are very good, making for an overall fantastic experience.
Firat K — Google review
With the bar half full it still took 25mins for a Campari and a Bloody Mary. When asked about the delay, there was no sorry, they just started arguing. Very weird. When paying contactless, no receipt was offered and upon asking for the receipt the waitress mumbled that she wasn’t a thief … strangest experience at an old, once well known and visited institution in Basel.

STAY@Basel SBB offers a comfortable and budget-friendly experience with rooms featuring shared bathrooms and a fully-equipped kitchen. The easy digital check-in and check-out process adds convenience to the perfect location near Basel SBB. While the larger capsules are relatively clean, some guests found limited airflow inside, causing it to get hot and stuffy. Despite receiving numerous emails from booking to check-out, they provided clear expectations for the accommodation.
Very good experience at the Hyve capsule hotel 👍✨️ The receptionist was friendly and helped me with the check in even thought I arrived late. Location very close to the train station and very convenient. It is in a chill vibe neighborhood. I found the room and showers, toilets to be clean. I recommend !

Dominic M — Google review
Stayed here for 4 nights during artbasel in a capsule, for the price and for just needing a clean bed at night, it was a nice option. Its about 3 mins to the train station and 40 mins walking to the messeplatz (or 10 with the street car, no changes). . wifi was fast and worked well. For the price you can't find anything better in Basel during the fair. The capsules are surprisingly quiet (but I could imagine if you get a loud person in the rooms shared spaces or sleeping above you, it could be really unpleasant). There isn't much air circulation in the capsule when closed as others have stated, so I slept at night with the door open which was fine. The room was quiet and until morning there was no issues with parties or sounds. My major negative is that the door to the room and capsules all make a bunch of beeping sounds when opened, which can be obnoxious when people are coming in and out a bunch in short periods during the morning or night and you want to sleep. It would be great if the sound could be turned off/down. All and all I would stay again. I found the staff fast to address any issues and the common spaces were well kept and clean

Stayed here for 2 nights in a woman dorm room. The staff was super friendly. They definitely want you to have a good time. They help with whatever you want. You can also use the kitchen and just eat your food in the lobby. They are super friendly. Would go back here again, because of the staff mostly. we were in the forest themed room. it’s actually in the cellar of the building. in the room was the fuse box for the whole building and other technical installations behind a sort of wardrobe door. they all made noise. the air in the capsules got really bad after a short while. blinds of the window were broken etc. staff is nice and helpful. but the place is just badly done and worn out. we got moved to another room in the hyve hotel just next door for our second night….whoch wasn’t better unfortunately
Dominic M — Google review
I give my opinion for the capsule rooms. More than expected, super comfy, big space and no claustrophobic. All the building, including the bathrooms, toilets and rooms are super super clean. The check in is very easy. Modern place, with a lot of activities, kitchen available, laundry... 100% good. 2 minutes walking from the station, good restaurants around. I can't say nothinn wrong because it's excellent place. I will come back for sure.

Bought a coke and while I was walking to the stairs it leaked down my shirt. Went back to the counter to ask for a different cup she slapped a straw down on the counter then walked away. Everyone of the employees looked as if they were mad about something and didn’t want to be there. One worker was standing at the bottom of the stairs leaning against the wall staring at nothing. Then to top it all off when I picked up my drink from the table the cup fell on the ground and I was left with the lid and straw in my hand. The Kitchen Focacceria – Great Pizza & Friendly Service in a Casual Setting A colleague and I visited The Kitchen Focacceria in Basel for dinner after work, craving authentic Italian pizza, and we were not disappointed! The pizza was delicious, well-made, and full of flavor, satisfying our craving perfectly. What stood out even more was the friendly and attentive service. Our waitress was knowledgeable and recommended a great beer for me to try. She even took the time to pour it for me and demonstrated how I could request another by ringing the bell on the table, which was a fun and unique touch. That said, this is a simple, casual spot, so if you're looking for a high-end Italian restaurant, this might not be the place for you. But if you want tasty pizza in a relaxed setting with great service, it’s definitely worth a visit!

Delicious food! Fresh and authentic focaccia with plenty of options. Love that you can ‘design’ your own focaccia. It’s a small shop with limited seating but that’s not a problem for a quick lunch. Unfortunately there’s no toilet.
Jasmin D — Google review
We get a pinsa at least once per month (if not once every week) with my colleagues due to how tasty and well done it is. Pinsa differs from the standard pizza due to having a mix of flours and being more crispy and flat than most pizzas you would normally get at a restaurant. The place allows for choice of several varieties of pinsa, among which are vegetarian and vegan choices, which can be selected most of the times by choosing the ones with a green color on the side. Of course the staff is friendly and will kindly listen / adapt most of the requests within their possibilities. For the price the quality is great, and it’s good to have different variations to try. Would be nice to see a more varied vegan choice as well (there are focaccia too to choose), but overall it’s always a good experience when we choose to eat from here. It is also possible to sit at the restaurant next to it and order the pinsa for eating there, in case you’d like to sit down and relax rather than do take away. Give it a try if you’re in Basel, just be mindful that lunch time is usually very busy!

One of the most delicious spots out here in Basel. I love the pad thai and the Satay with Chicken. But literally everything is good. Every evening from 17:30 they make your food fresh in front of your eyes after ordering. 🔥

The taste is excellent but the portions are very small. Pad Thai for 16chf, but small portion (specially noodles).
Juan A — Google review
very fast service in a take out location and cheap prices. I had pad thai and it was OK but overall cleary below average. they do not prepare your portion as you order they pre-prepare the pad thai which clearly lacks in quality (deepness of flavours, overcooked noodles and vegtables) would rather pay 3-5 CHF more to get a decent pad-thai. Their buffet-system might better work with their curries but did not had one of them yet.

Best Thai food I had in Switzerland, tastes just like in Thailand and the friendly chefs are also Thai. 100% authentic and generous portions.

The best pad thai in the city so far (even better than the one from the Markthalle). If you want to know if it‘s worth it, you can just check and see how busy they are for lunch time. 10 out of 10!

I had a great lunch at Ploy Siam. A big open kitchen fills the space, you can clearly see everything that’s going on in this space, the owner greeted me friendly and told me it’s a pickup or delivery restaurant… yet she offered me to sit on one of the chairs to eat inside the restaurant (very nice gesture), it was freezing cold outside and I was far from home :) The food was delicious, they had five dishes for lunch to choose from! Overall a great place to repeat, can’t wait for it! Thanks

McDonald's, a renowned and longstanding fast-food chain, is widely recognized for its delectable burgers and fries. This establishment proves to be an excellent choice when waiting for trains or seeking a productive environment. Noteworthy is their impressive wifi speed, surpassing expectations for a restaurant and facilitating decent work sessions. The venue maintains impeccable cleanliness standards while boasting friendly and accommodating staff members. With comfort and care as top priorities, customers can pass their wait time with utmost satisfaction.
I visited this place twice (morning and evening) during my trip to this city. I ordered coffee in the morning and tea in the evening. In the morning (at 8:30) there were three people. By the evening (17:00) there were a lot of people, but there was still enough room for everyone to sit down. Very fast service (both morning and evening, despite the busyness). A lot of sockets to charge your phone. Clean and atmospheric.

The food came really quickly and was super hot and fresh. The sauces are really intriguing but unfortunately you’re only allowed 1 sauce, and it was really difficult to get a second one. I’m not used to that at McDonald’s. The wings and mustard chicken burger were delicious! Pretty good value for money.

Probably the comfiest and cleanest McDs I have ever been to. The place was spotless. Staff was nice. A Big Mac costs 7.20 CHF in 2025. This is the place to eat if you are visiting from a 3rd world country and wanna avoid financial ruin.

McDonalds across from the entrance Basel SBB to the railway station because the service is disastrous. They spilled cold juice on my 8 year old son's clothes and no one came to apologize or brought another drink. Not to mention the table was also dirty and the waitresses were terribly rude. It's a disaster, you'd better go into the railway station and eat something there or at the nearby fast food restaurants.
Almir A — Google review
Don’t go there - I paid via my credit card and then they told me I wouldn’t have (the ticket wasn’t coming out - maybe empty) but I could show them my transaction on the receipt of the credit card. However, they don’t care and still were defending that it is not there problem but obviously it is -very very annoying

Overall a great place to get an affordable meal in a land where seemingly nothing g is affordable. They also had the coldest beers I found in the city after staying for a week. The gyro Kabab is gigantic and is easily enough to split between two people. The only reason I have this a 4 star is due to the fact that it was hot inside both times I went.

Definitely my favorite fast food in the area, although sometimes the wait is longer, but the quality is always there, the fries, the burgers, the drinks are always up to par. I would never change my mind about this.
Elian — Google review
I don't like giving bad reviews, and I try to find something positive. But the experience was horrible. "Whopper BBQ menu." The fries were over-fried, already brown, and very tough. The burger was completely dry and had barely any sauce. There was no bacon or cheese. It only had dry meat, a drop of sauce, a piece of pickle, a slice of tomato and onion. Nothing else. I wanted to complain before I started eating. But I had already waited so long for the food and I was hungry, so I decided to eat that disgusting thing and never come back.
Joe L — Google review
The most disgusting place on the earth. Only 2 people working on 30 orders at the time, with that ofc, i got only 1 burned piece of meat inside double wooper. My order contained nutella sundae and when i got my order employee asked ,,we dont have that is vanilla shake okay?'' Dont even get me started with prices that are high like a God himself is making that burger.
Atanasije R — Google review
I never give bad reviews but this has to be an exception because of just how bad eating here was. Avoid eating here at all costs. I came in just before lunch time and even though it was still early in the day, i was served with the driest chicken burger i've ever come across. It must've stayed there overnight or something because there was no way any piece of fried chicken would have dried and hardened up that quickly in a few hours. The fries were similarly overfried or simply just left on the heater too long as there was nothing but what felt like eating wooden chips. Even the chilli cheese balls were dried up and hardly edible. Genuinely no idea how the serving staff get away with serving food like this, but i would avoid this place like the plague.

Delicious. Great meat and great flavours. Various kebabs and plates to eat in or take away. There were lots of guests but they found us a table and we had no wait for the food. A very popular and well run establishment in the heart of Gundeli!

Definitely Switzerland’s No. 1️⃣, which is why we traveled from Zurich more than 3 times in 2024 and 2025! The flavors are unlike anything else in Switzerland and truly reflect authentic Turkish cuisine. We were positively surprised by how delicious it was. I highly recommend the place for its great variety, be sure to try the İskender Kebab, and its friendly staff. This spot is a bit above the typical kebab place (except, of course, Ayverdis 😉), though there’s still room for improvement. Be prepared for the high prices, which is somehow the new standard. Edit: New and very strong competitor identified 'Babas Döner' , check out my review 😁
Baris Ö — Google review
I heard this place had ‘the best kebab in Basel,’ so I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the experience was nothing special. The bread was hard, the meat was just okay, and the toppings were unimpressive. The only highlight was the service from a guy who speaks Italian, he was truly very kind.
Valeria D — Google review
The kebab isn’t bad, but I was expecting much more from a place that brags about being featured in the Gault & Millau guide. The meat appears to be 100% beef, but it’s dry. I was also quite surprised by their practices: you have to specify how many grams of meat you want in your kebab. How stingy is that?
Ozlem L — Google review
Really unique and delicious doner on warm lightly toasted bread. Very simple but done well. I can see why people say it’s one of the best in Switzerland. I do wish I could have gotten chilli sauce (but I don’t think they allow it on the sandwich since I asked and got chilli flakes.) The cocktail sauce I didn’t get but the yogurt one was very good. The salad reminded me of a burger a bit, and I liked it! I wish I could have gotten the gherkin but they didn’t include it in the sandwich. You might need to ask for that specifically or pay extra? They have so many sizes to choose from and actually weigh the meat so I like how precise that is. We got the smallest (100g) for CHF 13.
Arden — Google review
Excellent Döner with real and tasty pieces of meat. Fresh bread was delicious. A bit pricey but worth it for the quality!

Subway is a popular casual counter-serve chain for build-your-own sandwiches & salads, with health-conscious options. The worker was nice and quick.
Super location in the middle of town. The classic Subway sandwiches are great and everything is freshly prepared to taste. The daily menu is great value too - 10CHF for a 15cm sub, cookie and unlimited drink. The restaurant seating is due a slight renewal but otherwise can't fault it!
T F — Google review
Food quality is good, service is also fast but they can be rude at times. We bought two subs and didn't buy any drink. We'd gotten a bottle of water from home and were drinking it after our meal when the person working there told us it's not "allowed " to drink anything there that we didn't buy from them. I said that this is water I'm carrying in my bag and he said that, still I'm not allowed to drink that. It was sort of rude.
Shomrik B — Google review
I wanted to pay in € instead of CHF. The manager there took my bill and quickly changed the price because of the Exchange rate (50 € = 43 CHF, according to this Subway). He swiftly changed the price as to not show the drastic price difference ( ≈ 9 CHF difference). He changed it after he took my money and didn't elaborate on it after being asked why. The service wasn’t great from the manager.

Lukasz B — Google review
Worst experience ever at any subway with this owner here. Very arrogant. He gave literally one napkin per two people and when we asked for olives he says it costs extra and when I said yes that is fine, he kept a very angry look. He wouldn’t allow us to use toilet after 8 of us ate and spent & 94.34$ or 80.40CHF. He asked me to pay a Frank to use the toilet. No ice with coke and the coke we bought was not cold. What was interesting was he was all smiles for the locals but very racial the way he treated us and worst experience in my 25 years in any Subway in any country. Will never go again here.
Srini D — Google review
The food is amazing, however there’s always one middle aged woman (who usually works the evening shift and worked on tue. the 26.11.23 at night) who drastically messes up the order countless times. Here’s her sandwich that was specifically told to NOT have Mayo.

If I could give this place and the employees neagative 5 stars I would! The worst service I have ever had in a restaurant! I ordered a cheeseburger for my son with only ketchup and after a bite or two my son realized that they forgot the ketchup so I asked the lady for ketchup and she said .30 cents I’m not a cheap person but on principle they got my order wrong and they wanted to charge me more, not going to happen. Second bad encounter in Switzerland.

Never had this before, when you eat in you get the nice food. As soon as you order out you get the garbage. My quarter pounder was as dry as hell. You may ask why 2 out of 5 stars? It's because 2 out of my 20 nuggets weren't cold and dry. I've been waiting for a solid 12 minutes and this dude packs me the worst of the worst because I took take out and wouldn't be able to complain anyways. A simple place but a very convenient location. Friendly service with a smile - and he spoke English too.

Food was good and I was very happy with how big my kebab was. However the establishment wasn't very comfortable, there was not enough ventilation and you could feel the fat in the air or even impregnated on the tables.
Daniel D — Google review
Poor Service. My wife paid with a US credit card. They put it through in USD without asking. It should have been in CHF. They do that so they can make a profit on the currency conversion. They should ask which currency. The cashier refused to revert the charge and do it again. Dishonest or lazy - I don't know which. We will never go there again. They have lost a customer for life.

The worse pizza of ever! Die schlimmste Pizza meines Lebens! 30min to get 1 pizza (no people inside, apart a drunk guy with a crazy dog) All this time and the result: the pizza dough was not leavened, the tomato sauce had to be found with a magnifying glass ..and as a great final ..when driving back home, a guy arriving with the car, I think he was the delivery man from the pizzeria, was speaking to me in a very bad manner, because my car was parked there, so what?? ..despite he had enough place to park, despite there is any indication the park was reserved for him.. please ..just avoid to buy pizza in this place ..you have so many other choices Note: the toilette door at the entrance fully opened with the wc panorama was really fantastic ..breathin' really fresh air

Burger King is a popular fast-food restaurant that offers a variety of grilled burgers, fries, and shakes. While specific menu details for the location in Weil am Rhein are not available at the moment, visitors can expect classic fast-food options. The chain is known for its convenient and quick service, making it a go-to spot for satisfying cravings on the go.
Just opposite to Basel SBB station. I did not have veggie king burger option which is available in Germany and rest all are same as in Burger king in other countries. But overall experience is good. Just in case if you would like to use the washroom, it is possible only with the bill as the code for it is in the bill.

King XL burger menu, burger is small, same as normal size. The drink is pretty large 0.75dl and fries are big as well. Service, location and atmoshpere are great.

Good prices, the food tastes good but is probably the worst quality you can find for fast food, it feels like you're in the part of the mall nobody wants to be in, the staff is friendly.

(Translated by Google) The food was ok, the promotion was going on, the employee just rudely said after 15 minutes of waiting that the QR code was no promotion and made us wait again. Afterwards, the sandwich was made, this time it was wrong and we were punished again because the employee didn't do the action and we paid more. We were treated very badly, it's a shame (Original) Das Essen war ok, die Aktion welche lauft, die Mitarbeiterin sagte nur barsch nach 15 min warten ihne QR Code keine Aktion und lies uns wieder warten. (Translated by Google) On several visits I was able to observe the manager as he served customers with cheeky gestures. Even today, he serves all over the place and confuses all the customers, thought I was allowed to pay, then he said I shouldn't push forward, but none of us fully understood who should pay now! It's pretty sad of Subway to let someone like that "manage" a store, if you can't deal with customer contact you should get a job in the office, EMBARRASSING!

(Translated by Google) As with any chain, the food is about what you'd expect from Subway. That's why the food gets 4 stars from me. I had the Italian BMT on the menu and I always recommend it. The service, however, was just O.K. The lady at the reception was a bit unfriendly and put a bit of pressure on us when ordering. The lady who put the toppings and sauces on them was extremely slow, so much so that you had the feeling that she had taken sleeping pills and the lady at the checkout was great. Totally friendly and motivated, that's what I like to see. However, she was from a generation where being friendly was second nature. The atmosphere was okay, it's in the St. Jacobs Mall and not its own store. It's good to observe people, but I wouldn't like to have private conversations. All in all, like the Subway chain itself, quite O.K.

(Translated by Google) The only Subway branch I know and definitely won't recommend to anyone... A while ago a friend became incredibly sick after eating it. A few months ago I wanted to go there again, but then I gave up when I saw that the ham was already gray. Today I was there again and thought I'd try it again... again the ingredients were more than marginal... a few other people were probably of the same opinion because they quickly moved on after seeing the ingredients... Apart from that, there doesn't seem to be enough staff on site, we were in St. Jakob for about 3 hours and walked past the subway several times, but only saw an employee once... It's a shame, there would be more than enough potential. But under these circumstances I advise everyone not to visit...

Located in Reinach, Food Time offers decent food at reasonable prices. I tried the doner plate, which was generous but nothing extraordinary. The service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere clean and welcoming, though the seating could be more comfortable. Overall, a solid spot for a casual meal.

The food was delicious—especially the pide, which was one of the best I've ever had. However, the place wasn't very clean and felt disorganized. It's worth visiting for the quality of the food, but the lack of cleanliness might make me think twice before returning.

Union Diner Gundeldingen is a modern and cool spot in Basel known for serving some of the best burgers in town. The burger patties are juicy, and the fries are deliciously crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. With a variety of burger options to choose from, this place offers great food with comfortable atmosphere and friendly service. The portions are just right, and even non-classical options like the brie burger are worth trying.
Excellent burgers, perfectly grilled, good size. I took two, but without fries (coleslaw instead) and a sugar free drink. Pricey, but worth the quality. Will come back ! Very nice staff.
Gee S — Google review
This is a place that you need to avoid, if you care about your health. The burgers are ok, nothing special and a bit overpriced. But the real problem is the standard in the kitchen, particularly the plates and bowls. As you can see in the picture, the bowl is horribly chipped and damaged. This was not an exception and I saw many other plates and bowl that are in a similar condition. Small pieces are released into the food as you are eating! This is highly toxic material and definitely against health and safety regulations. I mentioned the problem to them. They do not seem to care and did not even apologize. If they are comfortable serving food in this manner to customers, imagine what standard they keep in preparing and making the food. Think about your health and go somewhere else.

We were here in the afternoon and had 3 special menus. The food was amazing and the staff very very friendly and helpful. The menu is vegetarian/vegan friendly. They also offer gluten free options. The food was very tasty, the ingredients fresh. Most of the things are prepared in house. The preparation was very fast and we had our food in less than 10 mins since ordering. Highly recommend this place. Will surely come again!

Today my husband and I had the misfortune of visiting the Union Diner located in Meret Oppenheim-Platz, the cashier accused us of theft, she was totally unbalanced, we paid the bill and she accused us of theft, it was strangely shameful and humiliating to go through this situation, we left home to have a good dinner and we had the biggest disappointment, we have never experienced a situation like this in our entire lives. I wouldn't recommend this place, not because of the food, but because of the lack of professionalism and care for customers.

The employee working the late shift on November 5th was friendly and professional, even though he was alone at the counter. As a vegan, he paid extra attention by asking if I wanted him to change the gloves he had previously used for non-vegan ingredients. I've never seen that at other Subway branches. My applause!

Posto straordinario / exceptional place Reasons to go: 1. Si parla italiano, si mangia italiano, si beve italiano, si sente italiano. (They speak a beautiful language, the food is delicious, the wine brings out the sun, the other guests provide vocal entertainment continuously.) 2. Place is brightly lit, football on a big screen. Reasons not to go: 1. Your team beat AC Milan recently. 2. Place is brightly lit , football on a big screen. 😉
